In short

The episode discusses the U.S. government’s delayed UFO-file release and argues that disclosure is already “already came and went,” with the most likely contents being satellite imagery/crash-site materials, hints of other life, and sighting reports plus “boring paperwork.” It claims the government has admitted the phenomenon is real, that classification exists to protect a cover-up and misused funds, and that skeptics mock evidence despite “plenty” of it.

Notable examples

Trump’s February directive to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth; the March 31 deadline missed; Spielberg’s Close Encounters (1977) and his upcoming film Disclosure Day about aliens living among us.

0:00Irreverent news talk opinion satire. It's Newsweek Radio, I'm Jesse Edwards, and I'm totally sick of politics today, so let's talk about UFOs instead because I'm bored. Yeah, you kids love UFOs until you actually see one. Get out of here. Top trending headline in Newsweek. What will the UFO files reveal? Three possibilities. This from Joe Edwards. No relation to myself. I believe he walks across the pond over there at Newsweek's London Bureau. Yes, we have a London Bureau at Newsweek. How fancy is that? With the U.S. government poised to release a tranche of UFO files, experts are weighing what the documents might reveal.

0:35Go check out the article yourself at Newsweek.com. The three possibilities are satellite imagery and alleged crash site materials, clues to other life in the universe, and sighting reports, but a lot of administration files. A lot of boring paperwork, in other words. Yeah, that's to be expected from our government. A whole lot of nothing. Trump announced in February that he would be directing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other relevant departments and agencies to start identifying and releasing UFO-related government files. And so far, those departments have failed to meet the deadline which came and went as of March 31st.

1:07You see, just like everything else, folks, you can't sit around waiting for the idiots in the United States government to do all the heavy lifting for you. And we live in the golden age of information for crying out loud. The truth is already out there. It's easy to find. The government has already admitted on multiple occasions and levels that the phenomenon is real. And if you don't already realize that by now, you probably never will. You know how sometimes folks, they talk about little green men? Well, they ain't green. They could have a UFO land on the White House lawn live streaming, and 30 % of the population wouldn't even believe it was real.

1:39The other 30 % would freak the F out. And the remaining third of us wouldn't be phased, because we already know it to be the truth. If you don't believe that since the beginning of time, we've been visited by interdimensional creatures that appear to bend time and space while manipulating gravity and consciousness itself. That's cool. I mean, it is a lot to absorb on a Thursday afternoon with everything else you've got going on and you're busy and increasingly expensive life. $102.45 to fill up my tank today. Damn it. Thanks, Trump. I'm sorry. Don't get political. We're talking about UFOs. So for the sake of simplicity, let's just call them aliens and spaceships for the time being.

2:15We've all seen the footage, we've all heard the first-hand accounts from top military brass to Air Force captains and world leaders and scientists. Just about any sort of credible witness that one could imagine. People who know the difference between conventional aircraft and otherworldly events that defy the known laws of physics. People who have put their entire careers and credibility on the line to step forward and insist that they witness something that is beyond our collective human knowledge in the most profound ways possible. Why wouldn't anybody believe it at this point? Those are the folks who really worry me.

2:47Oh, you're going to tell us that we're crazy for believing all these credible people. Are aliens real? They're real, but I haven't seen them, and they're not being kept in, what is it? Area 51. Area 51. And at this point, you might be the one that sounds a couple shots short of a cocktail. And yes, I've had more than one extremely close encounter in my lifetime, but we don't have time to get into that today. But these things are real. The only question left is, what the hell are they? Which is where things get really, really sticky because there's always more questions than answers when you peel back those layers.

3:19Thankfully, there are more dedicated professionals chasing these answers than ever before with the hard work by people like Leslie Kane and George Knapp and Jeremy Corbell. And everybody else in that orbit of ufologists, just to name a few off the top of my head. Steven Spielberg is also becoming more involved in the activist side of these things. In the disclosure movement with his upcoming new film Disclosure Day. And I can't remember the last time I was so excited to see something in the theater again. He must be the last man standing in Hollywood today interested in creating original content when everything else these days seems to be a remake of a remake of a remake.

3:50Steven Spielberg described his 1977 UFO film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, one of my top 10, as his own speculation about intelligent life on other planets. His new alien movie, Disclosure Day, will offer what Spielberg believes is, quote, more truth than fiction. And good for him. I'm just happy to have a movie to look forward to again. It's like a dying art these days, making original films that feel like movies again. And Spielberg even commented on that recently, saying, quote, If all we make is known branded IP, meaning intellectual property, meaning films and franchises that already exist, which is why we keep getting this endless parade of remakes, if all we make known is branded IP, we're going to run out of gas.

4:27There is nothing more important than giving the audience visual stories. They can be in any form, but we need more original stories, unquote. And I couldn't agree with Mr. Spielberg anymore. Fantastic. Sorry to get sidetracked there from the topic of UFOs and movies for a minute, but I think it's obvious from the movie trailer for Disclosure Day, so it's not exactly a spoiler to say that the movie is based on this idea that the so-called aliens are already living amongst us. At this point, I don't even think that many of us care anymore. We just want to see what the government's been hiding from us for so long.

4:57The possibility here is that it's much harder to explain to people than simply just little green men in spaceships who like to terrorize and molest farmers while they're trying to sleep. The reason the U.S. military and intelligence communities are fighting like hell to keep everything classified is that the moment we have the smallest bit of proof of non-human intelligence, their entire cover-up scam collapses. They built a security structure where any crime can be sealed away without consequence and threatened anybody who tried to tell Congress. What else are we going to find when we lift up that rug?

5:30Aliens are the least of their worries. They just don't want the public finding out where all that money went that they stole from us. But still, whatever these things end up being is far more interesting to me than our corrupt officials. Late night UFO talk radio is why I got into talk radio before it became podcasting in the first place. And this career has taken me much further than I could have ever imagined. Living deep out in the woods of Southern Oregon, listening to Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell back in the 90s with a little transistor radio under my pillow, the show would go on to like 2 or 3 in the morning.

6:01But I would stay up all night listening to these stories about aliens and UFOs. and 30 years later, the story hasn't gone away. It's become much louder and much more credible than I ever thought possible. The only thing that bothers me about the idea that we're not alone at this point are the skeptics. Because I want them to believe for some reason. I'm not satisfied enough just to know it's real, and that a lot of other people know it's real. But every time the topic comes up on social media, the laugh emojis start flying, and the head-in-the-sand UFO skeptics come out of the woodwork, always saying that there's no evidence, and they mock anybody who suggests otherwise.

6:33Otherwise, those tables have turned. Finally, because there is plenty of evidence. So much that if you don't see it by now, I don't think you ever will. And I guess that's where we have to leave it for today. What will releasing more UFO files reveal? I think it's going to reveal more about us than it will ever about the so-called aliens. Because if there were any threat to us, I promise you, we would not be here right now. You might think differently. We could talk about it. You could share your thoughts with me. J.Edwards at Newsweek.com. I don't give out my email address very often. Hit me up.

7:02Tell me where you're listening from. And give us a review on Apple iTunes for crying out loud. It's been over a year since anybody said anything. Please subscribe and give us your five stars for the simple fact that I never ask for you to do that anymore because I'm trying to be a nice guy about it. I like to have fun. Just messing around here. That's the whole point. And until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio. Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of the Trust Project. And we say bye-bye. I believe he walks across the pond over there at Newsweek's London Bureau.

UFO disclosure didn’t fail, it already happened. The evidence is out there, the government has admitted more than you think, and most people still refuse to see it.
