Podcast Summary: Newsweek Radio - Episode: Wokeism Built Trump, the Silent Majority Can Destroy Him

Episode Overview In this episode of Newsweek Radio, host Jesse Edwards discusses the intersection of "wokeism" and the political landscape that has facilitated Donald Trump's return to prominence. He critiques the failures of both the left and right while calling for a renewed engagement from the silent majority to reclaim control over the narrative and the political system.

Key Themes and Discussions

The Role of Wokeism in Politics

  • Wokeism's Impact: Edwards argues that wokeism has created divisions in the country, inadvertently setting the stage for Trump's political resurgence.
  • Failure of the Left: He asserts that the left has lost credibility with the working class due to extreme messaging and policies related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Critical Race Theory (CRT), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

Critique of Political Figures

  • Pam Bondi's Senate Behavior: Edwards criticizes Pam Bondi's performance during a recent Senate hearing, suggesting it reflects a broader dysfunction in the political system.
  • Accountability for Leaders: He questions the ability of political leaders to enact meaningful change, calling on the left to demand new leadership instead of continuing to support ineffective figures.

Call for Action from the Silent Majority

  • Reclaiming the Narrative: Edwards urges the silent majority to rise against both extremes of the political spectrum, rejecting the status quo and participating actively in democratic processes.
  • Human-First Approach: He advocates for a shift towards a human-first mentality in politics that transcends partisan allegiances.

Proposing a New Political Movement

  • Grassroots Organization: Edwards envisions a grassroots movement that empowers individuals to bypass traditional government structures, emphasizing self-representation.
  • Reforming the Political System: He discusses the potential for a non-violent overhaul of the current political system, advocating for term limits, combating insider trading, and reducing the influence of lobbyists.

Criticism of Extremism on Both Sides

  • Moderation vs. Extremism: Edwards warns that both the extreme left and right are contributing to a toxic political environment, suggesting that these extremes alienate moderates.
  • Need for Compromise: He stresses the importance of compromising and focusing on issues that resonate with a broader audience rather than fixating on divisive cultural issues.

Key Takeaways

  • Wokeism has contributed to political division and paved the way for Trump’s return, which is a symptom of a broader failure across the political spectrum.
  • The silent majority has the potential to influence change by becoming more vocal and engaged in political discussions and movements.
  • A new approach to politics is necessary to address current challenges effectively, advocating a human-first mindset and grassroots organizing.
  • Moderation and compromise are essential to prevent further political polarization and ensure effective governance.

Conclusion Jesse Edwards concludes the episode by emphasizing the necessity for the silent majority to break their silence and reclaim their narrative against the extremes of both sides. His vision calls for a renewed focus on collaboration and effective representation in a political landscape that has become increasingly chaotic and divided.

0:00Hey, do me a big favor. Head on over to YouTube and like us and subscribe. It's at Newsweekradio on youtube.com. It's at Newsweekradio on YouTube. It's a Reverend News Talk and Opinion Without Agenda Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Sometimes just a little bit of satire thrown into the mix for good measure. And wow, what a psycho is Pam Bondi? After watching her behavior yesterday in front of the Senate, I can't help but wonder what kind of powerful mind-altering drugs she might be on because nobody in their right mind would act like this. Take a listen. There's been public reporting that Jeffrey Epstein showed people photos of President Trump with half-naked young women.

0:37Do you know if the FBI found those photographs in their search of Jeffrey Epstein's safe or premises or otherwise? Have you seen any such thing? You know, Senator Whitehouse, you sit here and make salacious remarks once again trying to slander President Trump left and right when you're the one who was taking money from one of Epstein's closest confidants, I believe. I could be wrong, correct me, Reid Hoffman, who was with Jeffrey Epstein on multiple occasions, and the senator sitting right next to you tried to block the flight logs from being released. Yet you're grilling me on President Trump and some photograph with Epstein?

1:24Come on. The question is, did the FBI find those photographs that have been discussed publicly by a witness who claimed Jeffrey Epstein showed them to him. You don't know anything about that. Okay.

1:45Look, this entire political circus has me in a really strange mood because I feel like we're being sucked down into a rabbit hole that we may never be able to escape from. My wife and I have seriously considered leaving the country, not just because of Trump. He's just a nasty symptom of a much larger problem. Trump is just a painful boil on the ass of the body politic that represents the worst of what America has to offer with our draft-dodging, trust fund baby, country club, silver spoon, degenerate, billionaire class that's never had to actually work for anything in their entire lives or faced any real risk mentality.

2:18We are all responsible for the mess he's creating because we all put him there. If you didn't directly vote for him, you voted for the kind of people who enabled his behavior in the first place. The very same reason we have oceans of drugged out crazy people living in tents across the country is the very same reason this degenerate bum was allowed back into the White House. Because liberals don't know how to enforce rules, generally speaking. Just watch them all getting stonewalled by Pam Bondi in the Senate yesterday. She should have been tossed in jail for contempt after that performance. But apparently none of these clowns on Capitol Hill have any power or authority.

2:51They should just have told her to leave if she wasn't going to answer any questions. I mean, the liberals in Washington have rolled over like submissive dogs to this administration, and I don't understand how these clowns protesting out in the streets aren't aware of this fact. Because you idiots shouldn't be out in the streets protesting ICE. You should be at your local Democrat headquarters and the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., demanding new leadership because people like Bernie Sanders are why we have Trump. People like AOC are why we have Trump. People like Hakeem Jeffries, Adam Schiff, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin, Liz Warren.

3:23The whole stinking lot of them are why we have this idiot Trump destroying our country right now. Liberals lost control of the narrative when extremist woke DEI, CRT, and ESG messaging co-opted the entire movement and party. Liberals lost credibility with the working class by leaving the border wide open and granting virtual amnesty to illegals who poured into the country. Liberals lost compromise when they embraced the cancel culture that doesn't allow compromise with the opposition. And they wonder how somebody like Trump rises to power. They wonder why he's able to do terrible things without repercussions.

3:56They wonder why his base is still holding strong despite his blatant abuse of power. He's stupid. He's careless. He's rude. He's embarrassing. He's dishonest, even when he doesn't need to be, yet America chose him over you. Why do you think that is? I follow the Lincoln Project because they're a bunch of never-Trump conservatives and libertarians like myself, which is still apparently quite a rare breed, but we do exist. Anyway, they shared a post on Twitter, never going to call it X, the other day that I would love to quote right now. It says, quote, history won't praise Democrats for playing the rules if it's the reason we lose our country, unquote.

4:31And I've got to say, that resonates with me because there's a lot of truth in that, but it also brings up some mixed feelings and thoughts. Because we should always try to fight our battles with honor, but sometimes there are forces that force you to fight fire with fire. And yes, it's important not to stoop to somebody like Trump's level, but giving a bully the taste of their own medicine is exactly what's called for in the moment sometimes. Now, I'm not exactly sure what that looks like, but I'm not a United States senator either. But I do know that if these pansies in Washington don't start getting creative, our problem is bound to get exponentially worse.

5:05We need to suck some of the oxygen out of the room to extinguish this dumpster fire that is the Trump administration, and I think one way to do that is to simply stop showing up. Don't take to the streets to protest immigration raids. Stay home and remove the reason for Trump to send in the National Guard in the first place. And if he does anyway, let them stand around with their proverbial thumbs up their butts so they have nothing to do. Refocus your energy instead and demand that the Democratic leadership gets their collective shit together so you can dominate in the midterm elections next year.

5:34Because if you don't send a clear message and start fighting like you mean it, today's Trump GOP might just ignore the 2026 elections altogether and not swear anybody in. Look what the GOP is doing with that representative-elect down in Arizona just to keep the Epstein list away from the public who is demanding it. And remember what these goons did on January 6th just to try to stop Biden from becoming president. I'm telling you, if you don't drop the woke bullcrap, you're about to have MAGA Republicans in office for the rest of your life. The MAGA base certainly wouldn't have a problem with that.

6:05What makes you think that they wouldn't try a complete takeover of America? For crying out loud, they're already halfway there and we're only 261 days into Trump 2.0 as of this recording. Let's even assume for just a split second that you're somehow right. The DEI and CRT and ESG should be the law of the land. Would you rather be right or would you rather have another 30 years of MAGA? Sometimes it's important to set aside your pet projects and focus on ideas that appeal to a much wider audience than your current models provide. They might even be interesting theories to build upon for future use, but they're clearly not a stable platform for you to stand on.

6:44We need the left wing in this country to keep this bird of a nation from flying in circles because that's all we've ever had under Trump. Yet again, we're spinning out of control and falling to earth fast because the left wing has its head so far up its ass that it doesn't know its ass from a hole in the ground. Focus on cutting the cost of living in half for middle class families in America instead of forcing people to accept trans men and women's sports. Why don't you focus on repairing all the damage that Trump is causing right now instead of fixating on injustices of distant history? Focus on making sure that somebody like Trump never gets near the White House ever again instead of your inwardly focused obsessions with skin color and gender grievances.

7:23Because that's all the liberals have done for the last 20 years, and Donald Trump is the disgusting byproduct of it. I realize that I'm alienating myself from both camps with this kind of talk, but I really do not care. Because it sure seems like the majority of Americans are acting like a bunch of spoiled brat children out there, and you wonder why we have a spoiled brat president sitting in the highest seat of our representative government. It's not exactly a testament to how the old system works, but to how the old system is broken, and we need a new one. But not all hope is lost, because from where I sit, I do see an emerging silver lining out of this dark void of intellectual dishonesty.

8:00And I do believe it's why people won't stop listening to what I am saying here on this show. I'm starting to see a kind of revolt that's happening where those of us who are tired of all the noise and conspiracy theories and toxic political bullshit are pushing back by stepping back. And while I could be wrong, I do seem to be detecting with my spidey senses that the all-too-often-silent middle majority is about to wake from its slumber to be heard loud and clear. I'm probably being a little naive, but let's just call it optimism. I am naively optimistic that regular people will finally stand up to tell the whack jobs on both sides to shut up and leave the big kids table so the adults can work together across party lines to get done what needs to get done so we can get back to living our lives and not constantly worrying about whatever idiot currently occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

8:49Look, if you're on the left and too woke to work with the right, you're not allowed in the club. And equally, if you're on the right and too woke to work with the left, you're not allowed in the club. I'm talking about a human first and post-allegiance kind of mindset that could develop into a grassroots movement of the people for a change. And I can't think of anything more revolutionary than at a time like this. A kind of movement where the people could bypass the White House and Congress, in a sense, by forming our own lobbying group that, you know, punishes the nut jobs and rewards the good guys in Washington.

9:18I know it's been done a million times before. But maybe it is the new way forward. With our rise of communications capabilities through modern technology, why do we need a representative government anymore when many of us are fully capable of representing ourselves? I'm not suggesting that we toss our current system in the dumpster overnight because that would be kind of irresponsible, but if somebody were to organize a new movement in tandem with the current form of government, we could, in theory, eventually co-opt this toxic system we have now and replace it with a government that has redefined what it means to be of, by, and for the people in 2025 and beyond.

9:53Now look, forgive me for daydreaming here, but these are the things that I daydream about, so I'm going to talk about it. Welcome to my fantasy world. But we don't have a representative government if what we see in Washington, D.C. today is the best that we can do. These people are all losers of the lowest caliber, and we can absolutely do better from the executive to the legislative and the judiciary. They all need to go so we can bring in people who actually vote for term limits and curb insider trading and get rid of the lobbyists and special interest noise that stands between the people and their freedom.

10:22We need a non-violent purge of government in every way, shape, and form from the top down. To the left, I would say drop your woke DEI, CRT, and ESG as the party platform because it's driven all of the moderates away in droves. And to the right, I have to say that you are better than this. You should be better than this. And you should know better than to follow Trump after everything he's done. I know most of you just want to see it all burn, but that's not conservatism. That's anarchy. And in that way, you've become the mirror image of the extreme left in every way disgustingly imaginable. And it's not too late to do the right thing.

10:56And finally, to the silent middle majority, it's time for us to rise up and put an end to this nonsense by speaking up and speaking out against this toxic extremism that we've allowed both sides to push for much too long. We can no longer be silent because if we don't speak up and take back the narrative from the extreme left and the extreme right. One of them will be bound and determined to seize power from the weakest of the two and never give it back. And I'll leave it up to you to determine which side of that might be at the current moment. And until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio.

11:29I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of the Trust Project. Don't forget to head on over to YouTube.com, like us and subscribe. That's at Newsweek Radio on YouTube.com.

Wokeism didn’t just divide the country, it built the perfect stage for Trump’s return. The left lost control, the right lost its mind, and the center went silent. It’s time for that silence to end. In this episode, Jesse Edwards calls out the failures that created America’s chaos and lays out a human-first path forward, beyond left, beyond right, beyond allegiance.
