Well, it's a new world. It's the same constitution. That was Trump's solicitor general being smacked down by conservative chief justice, John Roberts, in regards to the birthright citizenship argument, which is clearly not going in the direction that Trump had hoped. Apparently the first sitting president to attend a SCOTUS event like this, and he stormed out after an hour and a half after the ACLU started speaking. So I guess it's pretty safe to say that anchor babies are safe for the foreseeable future.
0:33Yes, I know that's not a politically correct term, but it is a perfect little loophole for people who are bound and determined to come to this United States of ours. I'm probably neutral on the issue, but if it makes Trump so upset that he storms out after an hour and a half, you know I'm going to be happy about it. You can have the greatest case ever. They're going to rule against you. They always do. And it's not supposed to be that way. Now, the Republicans tend to be very different. They want to show how honorable they are so a man can appoint them and they can rule against him, he's so proud of it.
1:05We're so proud we ruled against Trump. We're so proud. We're above it. There are those that say that's wonderful. And there are those that say they're so stupid. Some people would call it stupidity. Some people would call it disloyal. Some people would say they're right in doing it. And I don't mind being right, but the other side almost never does it. Irreverent news talk, opinion, satire. It's Not very fun filling up my truck yesterday. Even with a dollar off a gallon, it was 97 bucks to fill my tank. Yeah, thanks a lot, Trump, you jackass. A couple of questions for you on a run, but first one affects Americans here at home.
1:44Gas prices. Today they hit$4. We're$4, yeah, and we have a country that's not going to be throwing a nuclear weapon at us in six months. But Americans are feeling the effects in the interim. And they're also feeling a lot safer. What is the plan to bring them back down? All I have to do is leave Iran, and we'll be doing that very soon. Captain Bonespurs here sending our young men and women to die in the Middle East, saying we might have boots on the ground, we might not have boots on the ground. I'm really not afraid of anything. I couldn't care less. 13 U.S. soldiers have died in Trump's war with Iran so far, and oh, by the way, we haven't forgotten about the Epstein files, you jerk.
2:20I think it's really time for the country to get on to something else. No, it's just like everything else. Trump is so old now that all he has to do is drag this out for another year or two, just like all the other chaos he's creating in the world. And it all goes away with him. Because Donald Trump will never face any sort of accountability in his lifetime if he hasn't already. That's not to say we shouldn't continue to hold his diabetic feet to the fire. I'd like to talk to you for a few minutes about diabetes. It just means don't get your hopes up that your No Kings protests are doing anything to put a dent in this thing.
2:50I mean, yes, I've got to admit that seeing the massive turnout over the past weekend gave me a little bit of hope. But hope is not a strategy. as Hillary Clinton once famously or infamously said, because there is no strategy to contain Donald Trump. And this thing is quite simply going to play out until his body gives up on him. I mean, what a testament to the modern medical establishment in keeping this walking, talking, fast food dumpster fire of a human being alive for so long. The man hasn't exercised or eaten a vegetable in 30 years. They must be keeping him alive like Frankenstein's monster or weekend at Bernie's.
3:21I wouldn't be surprised to see Marco Rubio or J.D. Vance propping up Trump's lifeless body in front of the cameras just to keep this grift going a little bit longer when he finally dies, wouldn't you? I mean, come to think of it, that's kind of like where we're already at given Trump's behavior. Whether people like Trump or don't like Trump, I settled eight wars, big ones, some going on for 36 years, 32 years, 31 years, 28 years, 25 years. The lights are on, but nobody's home at the White House. I can't think of anybody in history that should get the Nobel Prize more than me, and I don't want to be bragging, but nobody else settled war, so Obama got the Nobel Prize.
3:57He had no idea why. Why is he still talking about the Nobel Peace Prize? Can somebody please just give him the stupid thing so he'll shut up about it? Why did he get a Nobel Prize? He got it almost immediately upon attaining office, and he didn't do anything, and he was a bad president. Make it a live global event online. Invite him out for a special award for a special little guy. Prize. He shows up on front of the world stage with all these dignified leaders in the audience, And when they go to hand him the Nobel Prize, make it be made out of plastic with a fake gold patina on it for a fake gold patina kind of present.
4:31Because right at that moment, he'll know. Mr. President, this is your prize. This is your peace prize. That it's not actually the real thing. There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear. And that everybody in the audience is simply laughing at it. I'm going to wear it right now. Okay, let me hold. Ah, fantastic. Excellent. Oh, that's right. This already happened in real life back in December of last year when they gave him a fake Nobel Peace Prize from a bunch of soccer players. This message is brought to you by ColoGuard. We've all forgotten something important before. Your keys, your phone, maybe even one birthday you definitely meant to remember.
5:11Life always has a way of filling up the to-do list. And for many adults, colon cancer screening keeps getting pushed to the bottom. That's why health insurers and systems are working to close the colorectal cancer screening care gap by mailing out Cologuard kits, helping more people stay up to date. The Cologuard test is a non-invasive option that requires no special prep or time off. It's that simple. The Cologuard test helps remove barriers that keep people from getting screened. If you're 45 or older and at average risk, ask your doctor about the Cologuard test. Available by prescription only.
5:42Learn more or request a prescription at Cologuard.com slash Newsweek. Newsweek. Do not use the Cologuard products if you have had adenomas, which are a type of colon polyp that can sometimes become cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, or any other hereditary syndromes, a personal or first-degree family history of colorectal cancer, or a positive result from another colon cancer screening method within that test's recommended screening interval. Cologuard results should be interpreted with caution. A positive test result does not confirm the presence of cancer. Patients with a positive test result should be referred for colonoscopy.
6:11A negative test result does not confirm the absence of cancer. Patients with a negative test results should discuss with their doctor when they need to be tested again. False positives and false negative results can occur. Trump is set to make a major announcement about Iran tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that he's somehow going to declare victory over Iran while at the same time announcing that we're sending in troops for a hot war on the ground to protect the Strait of Hormuz. I'm not even expecting nuanced doublespeak. He's just going to be talking out of both sides of his you-know-what.
6:40I'm sorry. Yeah, the least we could have is politicians who know how to make their lies at least halfway believable for we the people? Now it's like they don't even try to bury their refuse. Now he's just leaving it on the sidewalk for people to step in. Well, I think Trump himself already gave us a pretty clear sneak peek of what he's going to be talking about tonight. We have had regime change. Now, regime change was not one of the things I had as a goal. I had one goal. They will have no nuclear weapon. And that goal has been attained. They will not have nuclear weapons. But we're finishing the job.
7:12Now, Now, thankfully, I don't believe a word he just said because he's got the longest track record of lying about things even when he doesn't need to. But you need to listen closely here. But we're finishing the job. We're finishing the job is a throwback line to Bush. And it suggests to me that, yes, there's going to be a surge of troops on the ground, which is only going to make things much worse because we're potentially about to see hundreds of soldiers returning home in flag-draped caskets. I'm guessing Trump will do anything in his power to keep those images away from the public for obvious reasons.
7:41the alternative is to take Trump on his word and assume that he's actually telling the truth here, which is actually the best way for Trump to confuse the shit out of his enemies because it's so far out of the norm for this creep to tell the truth. So yeah, I could see Trump taking his ball and going home over this. That he's going to pull out of this disaster in Iran entirely like he didn't even make the mess to begin with and leave it up to NATO and our allies in the Middle East to deal with, which probably means we won't have any allies in the Middle East for much longer, or Europe for that matter, as Trump inches closer to pulling out of NATO by the day.
8:12You know, Donald Trump would not be any better at destroying our country from within if he was a KGB asset. Because if that's true, we're obviously dealing with a James Bond level of sophistication that Donald Trump just does not possess. And the only assumption that leads me to believe is that he's quite simply a complete and total moron who gets to play God for the rest of his life. No kings. This man thinks he's God. And in some disgusting ways, he's right. After his stacked Supreme Court told him that he basically had immunity for almost everything. A president has to have immunity. Kings can be forced into checkmate.
8:47Donald Trump cannot because he's basically declared himself sovereign above the people and nobody was able to stop him when they could. One nation under Trump with liberty and justice for him and his big billionaire buddies, the rest of us be damned. How do we fix this country? How do we come back together? I'll tell you something that's going to get me in trouble, but I couldn't care less. Just be grateful that Joe Biden got elected when he did. Otherwise, I'm 100 % positive that Trump would have never let go of the office in 24, and we would be another five years deeper down this rabbit hole that he's let us down already.
9:20There is a report over at the top of the Drudge Report at the moment claiming that strippers down in San Diego are freaked out because all of the Marines that they've been giving lap dances to are coming into the strip clubs all depressed and scared because they're about to be deployed. I mean, to be fair, even if Trump is bluffing about troops on the ground in Iran, I wouldn't put it past him or the Joint Chiefs to ready the troops anyway, so that technically checks out tactically. But I think the simple fact that Trump and Hegseth have been so ambiguous about no boots on the ground so many times that many of us think that they're just lying to us like they do about everything else.
9:52What is your message to Americans who love the president and strongly believe in him, but are very worried about this notion of boots on the ground? We're not going to foreclose any option. You can't fight and win a war if you tell your adversary what you are willing to do or what you are not willing to do to include boots on the ground. Our adversary right now thinks there are 15 different ways we could come at them with boots on the ground. And guess what? There are. So if we needed to, we could execute those options on behalf of the president of the United States and this department. Or maybe we don't have to use them at all.
10:26See, that's how they hide the fact that they don't know what to do. So let me translate what Hegseth just said right there through my own personal lens. What he's basically saying is that they're damned if they put boots on the ground, and now that we're up to our neck in this war, they're damned if they don't put boots on the ground. Which makes my gut instinct scream that we are putting boots on the ground. But I will be happy to be wrong, because the dumbest thing on this planet is wars that didn't need to happen in the first place. But they all seem to happen anyway, regardless of whether it's a Democrat or Republican in office.
10:55They've all been talking about invading Iran for decades now. And finally, the dumbest kid on the playground took that up as a personal challenge. And now he's taken too big a bite to chew for himself, which the Iranians naturally see as foreplay compared to what they've been preparing for all these years. They know he's the biggest dunce they've ever been up against, and they know how easy this will play to their advantage when Gavin Newsom is inevitably in office, assuming Trump doesn't cripple our election system with the SAVE Act first. But we're out of time for today. Lots to talk about tomorrow.
11:24So until then, it's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye-bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of the Trust Project. Whether people like Trump or don't like Trump, I settled eight wars, big ones, some going on for 36 years, 32 years, 31 years, 28 years, 25 years. I'd like to talk to you for a few minutes about diabetes.
