In short

Recap of Bears vs. Eagles Week 3 Monday Night Football, focusing on Chicago’s 27-7 win led by backup QB Case Keenum and Bears offensive/defensive game plans; critique of Eagles’ second-half collapse and key decision-making (timeouts, short-yardage, 4th downs) after Jalen Hurts’ concussion exit.

Guests

Jordan Rodrigue (host/analyst) and Greg (co-host/analyst). No other named guests appear; interviews mentioned are Laura Rutledge interviewing Keenum on ESPN.

Guest backgrounds

Jordan Rodrigue is a football media host covering NFL games; Greg is an NFL commentator/analyst discussing play-calling, film, and game management.

Key claims

Ben Johnson’s play design and Dennis Allen’s defense enabled turnovers and big plays; Keenum “pushed the ball downfield” efficiently; Eagles’ execution errors (penalties, 3-and-outs, turnovers) and Sirianni’s late-game decisions swung momentum.

Notable examples

Keenum rushing TD sneak; Kalif Raymond 41-yard TD; Keenum stats (6/9 for 126+ TD on throws 10+ yards; 10/11 vs blitz); Eagles’ Hurts injury sequence and Andy Dalton goal-line interception; Bears forced turnovers (3 forced, 6 total season); Eagles’ failed 4th-and-1/4th-and-5 decisions.

2:15Jourdan Rodrigue:Third and goal at the one. Bears have been here before and been turned away. 7.27 to go in the game. Keenum under center, Swift the lone back. Play clock to 1-0. Gets the play off. Keenum, the sneak for the touchdown. Touchdown, Bears. How about that? Time running out on the clock. And Case Keenum invigorated. The 38-year-old making his first career start at Soldier Field. Gets a rushing touchdown. And it's 26-7, Bears with 7.19 to go.

2:55Man, I can't believe this is real life. That was Case Keenum. Letting his flag fly all over Soldier Field, all over this great country. As we go live on YouTube with Jordan Rodrigue, to my left is an interview between Laura Rutledge, live on ESPN and Case Keenum just beaming postgame after he puts up three touchdowns, almost 250 yards. That includes that quarterback sneak at the end. A flawless performance in a beatdown of the Philadelphia Eagles, 27 to 7. What just happened, Jordan?

3:39Jourdan Rodrigue:Old guys rule. That was wild. You know, we should have seen this coming. the second they did the first camera cut to Ben Johnson, who I don't think changed facial expressions the entire game on the sideline. And you're like, oh, this is going to get weird in like the best way if you're the Chicago Bears, because this one had a different feeling to it. As soon as the second half started and the Bears started to really pull away and the Eagles imploded, this was Case Keenum and the Bears' game all night long. Yeah, it was an incredible coaching job by Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen, their defensive coordinator.

4:20There were some Nick Sirianni decisions we want to get into. There is the new Eagles offense and some of the troubles we saw in the first couple of weeks really coming out in this game. But to me, that's all secondary. I was rooting for Case Keenum in this game. Each and every week, we have a player of the week presented by Nationwide. And it, of course, has to be our 38-year-old King. Let's listen to the moment where I realize they are actually going to do this. In motion, right. Burden picked up by Cooper de Jeanne.

4:54Jourdan Rodrigue:Here's the snap and a throw by Keenum. Over the middle, wide open. Raymond 20, 15-10, running away from the pack to the end zone. Touchdown. Touchdown Bears. Here's Kalief Raymond from Case Keenum, 41-yard catch and run. Man, Kalief Raymond has turned into one of the best free agent pickups of any team. We can talk about him. That was one of the easier throws that Case Keenum made all night, although it was under pressure. And I got some numbers for you for Case Keenum. Because what got me in this game was it was not dink and dunk. It was not all game manager in that third quarter drive he had earlier.

5:37He's pushing the ball down the field. And the stats show it. On throws over 10 yards, 6 for 9, 126 yards and a touchdown. Against the Blitz, 10 for 11 for 136 yards. Getting rid of the ball quickly. The Eagles pass rush not really getting there. And then under pressure, 6 for 9 for over 80 yards. All those incredibly efficient. He played a little dangerously a couple times, as Case Keenum is going to do. But that aggression paid off, and he really played great quarterback. He wasn't the only story tonight, but he absolutely was the story. Jordan, I don't know if this was your first experience letting your Case Keenum flag fly, but did you enjoy it?

6:20Jourdan Rodrigue:I did enjoy it. No, this was not my first Case Keenum freak flag experience. but I to your point I thought he played the game like you know a more mature older older wiser case Keenum where yeah there were a couple of of risky plays he was nearly intercepted three times two were great plays on the ball made by Quinone Mitchell one really tight near the goal line that would have definitely been returned for a touchdown had he come come away with it in his hands Cooper Dejean made another play on the ball but that Khalif Raymond touchdown to me told much more of a story of what the the the disadvantage for the Eagles and the advantage for the Bears offense was which was the Eagles defense couldn't make a stop through so much of this game their first forced punt I think was or their first three and out forced punt was was uh in the third quarter and yeah their first three and out force of the night was in the third quarter and so to me that plus the fact that there were voids to be capitalized on a case Keenum and Kalief Raymond, totally unexpected that he would be one of the favorite targets of this young season so far, were the ones who were moving the ball down the field the way that they were.

7:35Jourdan Rodrigue:To me, that play in particular told so much of the story of what happened to the Bears' favor tonight. Yeah, the parts that surprised me were when he was pushing it down the field. There was on that first third quarter drive where he has two different sideline throws. He has a couple throws against his bot like across his body. We're like, oh, no, this is not going to go well. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. But it went well. And then there was some like traditional drop back on third and 10 where he gets to his second read and he fits it into tight windows. It was not totally fluky. He got a little a little wild when he started scrambling late.

8:13And, you know, he he looked like a guy who was like trying to get out of his aisle at the movie theater without, you know, anyone having to stand up. And I was like, okay, case, like, don't blow this. I fumbled the ball on that play, but, but quickly recovered it. But it just goes to show the quarterback factory. I don't know if you remember that old quote Howie Roseman had, we want to be a quarterback factory when they just kept adding quarterback. The real quarterback factory is in Chicago. They got a quarterback controversy right now. They got to start Case Keenum next week, I guess, over Tyson Bajan, who they gave a huge contract to, assuming Caleb Williams doesn't play in that game.

8:48Either way, great problems to have and a really great feather in the cap of Ben Johnson. What did you see out of him and what he wanted to do tonight?

8:56Jourdan Rodrigue:Well, it was like subtle, smaller things that made a huge difference. Dan Casey, who is one of my favorite follows on social media, breaks down a lot of film, also writes great books. He noticed that there were fake pulling guards on the Case Keenum sneak. So then ended up instead like almost shooting forward and creating a funnel and then picking up whoever would come right up the gap for case keenum and crash into him essentially and it was really it was like they created a wind tunnel for him or something which was so funny to me it's like a you know like a plunger they just squeezed right through and it was like well if your guy sneaking the football is 38 years old and you're gonna call a sneak you better do something funky and cool with it, a little flourish on the inside.

9:45Jourdan Rodrigue:And that to me was sort of the story of the game. It was a very straightforward game from Ben Johnson as a play caller. And it was exactly this. It was start taking out, taking what the defense gives you. The Eagles at first were trying, and pretty clear their intent was to stop the run and make Case Keenum beat them with his arm. The problem is I don't know that anybody, maybe Case Keenum did, But I don't know that anybody expected on that field that Case Keenum was actually going to go beat them with his arm. And he did. Right. The Bears end up with 128 yards on the ground on 35 carries in the success rate finishes solid.

10:22They close the game out well.

10:23Jourdan Rodrigue:Yeah. But through two and a half quarters, that success rate was way lower. The yardage wasn't there. There actually wasn't that much room for DeAndre Swift. And they moved the ball with some great passes, some timely penalties or untimely. if you're a Philadelphia Eagles fan. But I've been mentioning letting our Case Keenum flag fly. And let's fly up an old tweet I found earlier today where it was our great friend Chris Wesseling. The first mention I could find, and this was something he would talk about on our old podcast around the NFL, but we would just talk about it in the newsroom too. When Case Keenum first came out as an undrafted free agent, I think there was a stat that I also found another one where he quoted for an undrafted rookie in his first two starts.

11:10Like he was the best undrafted rookie of all time in those two starts. And here he is, 38 years old, kind of making the improbable look possible. The NFL research from our website sent out something tonight comparing him to other 38-year-old plus quarterbacks. The only ones to have ever gone over 240 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and rushing touchdown in a game. Case Keenum, Hall of Famer Tom Brady.

11:40Jourdan Rodrigue:Yeah, famously mobile Tom Brady, yeah. Right. His rushing touchdown, I'm sure, was about the same length as Case Keenum. Drew Brees, who liked to sneak at the goal line. John Elway, another Hall of Famer. Doug Flutie, Hall of Fame cool guy, which I'm putting Case Keenum in as well. And then Fran Tarkenton, another Hall of Famer. So it's basically Case Keenum and some of the biggest names at quarterback in NFL history. That was the player of the week presented by Nationwide for your insurance and financial needs. Nationwide is on your side. Where do you want to go next? You want to talk about kind of how the end of the first half finished for the Eagles and the Bears?

12:22Because I think it speaks to a little bit how like this game was lost for the Eagles. Why don't we start with the sequence where the Eagles get down to the goal line, but Jalen Hurts left the game? You know, they had to check a concussion spotter, comes on and tells Jalen Hurts he has to come out of the game. At that point, I believe it's second and goal at about the half yard line. How did you think the Eagles handled everything, including the decision to make Andy Dalton their backup over Tanner McKee after that moment?

12:58Jourdan Rodrigue:The quarterback factory Philadelphia Eagles put Andy Dalton on the field where he promptly threw a goal line interception. Yeah, we had Case Keenum and Andy Dalton both playing in the same football game tonight. I just want to sort of let that sink in for a moment. The really curious thing to me, and I am sure that Nick Ceriani is in his press conference right now, taking plenty of time to speak with the Eagles reporters. and why didn't he call a timeout is my question. And what I want to explain too, it's a genuine question for me. It's not a rhetorical. That whole process of going in the blue tent and they really don't want coaches near the blue tent, first and foremost, that Brian Dable was problematic with that last year.

13:46Jourdan Rodrigue:And so the NFL really does not want coaches near that entire operation. There's no real understanding or idea of how quickly something like that is going to go. So all of that to say, I understand maybe in the moment why you're not making that decision, if that is in fact the explanation. But in black and white, you need to call a timeout to give your group time to figure out how long, if you can even figure out, is he going to come out quickly? If he's not, then yeah, okay, Andy Dalton goes in the game, I guess. And then you figure out what your sequencing is for that and you recalibrate a little bit.

14:23Jourdan Rodrigue:but that was such a crucial situation. It just felt like, I mean, it's, it's what seven, zero still bears at that time. And you still have a shot at kind of regathering yourself and resetting what this is going to be and what this plan is going to be. And instead this happens, it becomes a really pivotal swing moment. Um, and, and it just, it, it, it was, you know, the, what is it? The bears go down the other side and, and hit a field goal and all of that. To me, there could have been a pause there. There could have been an enforced pause. Nick Sirianni did not make this decision. I'm sorry I'm rambling.

14:59Jourdan Rodrigue:I got really carried away watching the highlights there because I was like the meme of him coming out of the blue 10. Oh, my God. Well, have you ever seen Jalen Hurts look more angry than he did in that moment? No, I never have. Which made sense. And look, I think what Nick Sirianni said going into halftime was composed more than he was, you know, in terms of decision-making on the field when he said they're trying to keep our players safe. And that makes sense. The timeout would have been a great move. Also, a great move would have just been being able to run the ball in from second and goal.

15:31And they weren't able to do that. They take a two yard loss. They could have snuck the ball with Andy Dalton. That sneak would work with anyone, but maybe they weren't ready for it or do it in theory, you know, with a tight end, but they don't have any healthy tight ends. Like they normally would do Dallas Goddard, but they instead you have Zach Ertz. And Saquon started the game so well, but they could not get anything done in short yardage in that scenario. And I thought Saquon was gassed. It's one of those like bad luck situations. He got knocked out at about the half yard line. And when they showed the replay of that run, he looked totally gassed.

16:04He had about 56 to 60 yards on that drive. So even before first down, I thought he was like ready to leave the game. And they gave him two tired carries in a row, brought in tank Bigsby, and then it all fell apart. And Dalton, I hate to think about it, Jordan. I guess I don't hate that much because I did it. I mean, there's a decent chance, A, that's the last throw of his career. I mean, there's at least a chance, right? I was surprised he got a job after the way he played last year. It did not look like Andy Dalton last year. And then number two, there's an even bigger chance he will finish this season 0 for 1 with one interception, which would be an all-time.

16:41I can't imagine that's ever happened before.

16:43Jourdan Rodrigue:Do you think that watching that play sequence inspired Ben Johnson to throw a little bit of an FU call in at the end of the game and call a design sneak that sets your quarterback up for minimal damage, your old man quarterback up for minimal damage, and a high success probability play of that quarterback sneak actually working again with an old man quarterback? I don't know. I'm just wondering because it just seems like something maybe he would do. And I mean that as a compliment. You are absolutely right. He is all about showing off how good he is. And he is good.

Grit, determination, preparation, strategy, leadership. It's all part of the game. Just look at today's players. A quarterback has to do so much more than throw the ball. They need to read defenses, extend plays, and make smart decisions under pressure. Running backs do so much more than run. They're catching passes, picking up blitzes, and finding ways to create opportunities when the play breaks down. The players who make the biggest impact are often the ones who can do more than what's expected of them.

19:26Whether it's on the field or off, success often comes from being able to do more than one thing well. Take Nationwide, for example. They're so much more than a great insurance company. They're one of America's largest financial services companies, too. It's a reminder that sometimes the strongest organizations, just like the strongest players, are the ones built to offer so much more. 20:25now there was a successful quarterback sneak i thought jalen hurts and i saw that you agreed on blue sky uh played a really good first half let's actually watch the very end to the first half it's a it's a two-play sequence after jalen hurts has a great drive bringing the eagles back down the field it results uh in a touchdown that we go to halftime with and at that point i'm thinking, okay, the Eagles have settled this game down.

21:19Four seconds. It's second and one. One second.

21:22Jourdan Rodrigue:There's a handoff inside, and it is touchdown! Touchdown! That was well put together by Kyrie there. I liked that a lot. To me, that was not only was that drive incredible. Devontae Smith with the body control, and similar to what we've seen for his entire career, but especially the last couple weeks when Jalen Hurts and Devontae Smith really try to go take over a game or a drive like that. Incredible. They had also gotten their outside runs working. So you mentioned that Saquon Barkley had popped like 60 yards on that drive. On outside runs specifically, he was getting seven and a half yards per carry, and he had eight of them between the first and the second quarter.

22:05Jourdan Rodrigue:But specifically in that second quarter was when the majority came along for 60 yards. And it was looking like this outside zone run game and where you're sort of mitigating the damage on a very unsteady interior offensive line for the Eagles right now was working. And then for Jalen Hurts to go in and manage that situation, that is his call in the moment. That is not the head coach's decision in that moment. The quarterback can decide whether or not to kneel to spike to stop the clock or, excuse me, to spike to stop the clock or whether to run a play. He made the right decision and he did it so coolly, calmly.

22:41Jourdan Rodrigue:you thought okay when they go in at halftime it felt like the Eagles were really figuring something out and then the third quarter happens and they completely implode and this was the Eagles thing from a year ago it's really crazy how they come out of halftime and last year was more they just had different stretches in the games it wasn't always after halftime sometimes it was that it was very often the first half they didn't do anything and then they woke up and did something in the second half so far coming out of halftime and this is it's his next Greg stats so there's always a chance it could be wrong uh i have counted uh eight three and outs on 11 third quarter possessions this year uh two field goals on the two other possessions with neither of which were in this game this was three straight three and outs uh and then an interception by jaylen Hertz.

23:33And this to me by TJ Edwards was the first nail in the coffin. And I do want to listen to the call because I do want to give the Bears defense some credit here for a fantastic night. They are undermanned in terms of overall talent. I don't think their pass rush was that great to me. And yet players like TJ Edwards were showing up in big spots.

Read the full transcript

23:55Jourdan Rodrigue:Hertz making checks in the din of Soldier Field. They're making some noise in the final half minute of the third quarter. Bears look like they're going to bring the blitz. Here comes the heat. They're bringing extras. The throw intercepted by D.J. Edwards. Another zone drop. Good call there. Look, we've had a lot of Jeff Joniak on WMVP this year. He's done a great job helping us out tonight. Also, Merrill Reese on WIP earlier on those calls. They blitzed about 41 % of the time. Look, I think the Eagles made some mistakes tonight, but the Bears, to me, played the type of defense that allowed their opponent to make mistakes.

24:42And as the Bears kind of learned last year, if you can do that, plus force enough turnovers, and in this game they forced three, they forced six so far overall this season, which is a good clip, they can let their offense win the game for them, no matter who's that quarterback.

24:58Jourdan Rodrigue:And the Eagles didn't help themselves either because some of the turnovers were, I mean, they're not technical count, but on downs, you know, the turnover on downs on in the fourth on that fourth down early on when they, you know, excuse me, excuse me, that's the interception. And then earlier they punted, getting all confused with all of the like cacophony of errors. Can we talk about the fourth down decision? I want to. I want to. Sirianni passed on taking a fourth and one on the 49 yard line, like late in the third quarter. So on Eagles, like what did you make of that? Yeah, it was weird because so they're at a fourth and one.

25:37Jourdan Rodrigue:And then they it really when they put the spot ball down for the spot, it really shows that they're at a fourth and one and a half. a little bit too far for the tush push, especially with that new interior reshuffle that they've done. To me, I'm thinking about what's going on in the quarterback's helmet with the play caller and how the communication has cut off probably at that point, how it's loud there as well. And perhaps you have one play call in, but you don't have the second play call in. And perhaps in that moment, that's when the head coach again calls a timeout. I don't know. I mean, would you have that's like, I'm not a head coach, obviously, but in that moment, when I'm thinking about that situation and how that is a must go situation, I don't care analytically.

26:24Jourdan Rodrigue:I don't care if you're, you know, 95 years old and hate computers like that. You go on that fourth down. And so like that to me, I'm confused as to when it's very clear that the play clock's winding down, that you're down, that your distance from the go, like from the conversion line is what it is you understand there's no headset comms at that point because you are also in the headset with the quarterback and the offensive coordinator like I'm they had three timeouts I know you don't want to like burn one that early in the game but like in the second half but like that to me I would I would have liked to see perhaps a pause there a reset get get two more plays in you don't like the first one go to the second one go for it on that fourth down Well, just, and it's easier said than done, but just have that buttoned up before the 15 seconds.

27:15You hate, in that situation, burning a timeout is an absolute killer. But you saw Jalen Hurts look over to the sideline, and he was absolutely confused. And no matter what it was.

27:24Jourdan Rodrigue:You seemed like he thought a timeout was coming. That's his gesture toward the, like, yeah. It was a failure of an operation. And then every time you don't go for a fourth down, you inevitably go for a longer one almost right after, which they did. That was a fourth and five, which they also should have gone for at that point. That turns into an interception. The Eagles offense just doesn't look right. And I thought the interior offensive line played better in this game. You mentioned the good outside runs. Tyler Steen had one holding call that took back a big run that was unfortunate for them.

28:00But they haven't looked that far away. But suddenly, and I saw this with the Bengals this week, too, the whole offseason narrative went completely away in this game. I mean, he was throwing out of shotgun basically the entire game. If they were under center, it was a total giveaway. They ran the ball. I think he ended up throwing the ball like twice from under center all night. And they ran it, you know, 12, 13 times. And the whole idea of playing that way is to be able to pass from under center. And tonight it was a little bit more of the old Jalen Hurts and Eagles offense. And even though it looked okay at points in the first half, he did not throw a pass to the middle of the field until I believe that late garbage time drive.

28:43So it was kind of the old problems that we've gotten used to. And I want to end on positives for the Bears. But it is amazing, Jordan, how quickly seasons change because suddenly the Eagles, who were 2-0, and they were feeling pretty good going into a Case Keenum game on the road that they thought was going to be brutal, but suddenly they were big favorites. Now they're 2-1. They got the Rams next week. They got the Jags the week after that. And now you kind of look back on the last two weeks, and you recognize the Eagles have not really put together a complete game. And I include their defense in that.

29:20Like each week has been rickety at points on both sides of the ball. The offense is taking a little while to figure itself out under Sean Mannion. And then the defense has not been dominant. It's been OK. And tonight, maybe even a little less than OK.

29:36Jourdan Rodrigue:Yeah, they're banged up. We were sort of laughing because, again, when you're 38 years old and you're playing quarterback, you use every trick at your possible disposal. I loved what we got from the ESPN mics tonight. we got case keenum hard count cadence we got a lot of calls we got a lot of checks we got a lot of like mixing up with mixing uh changing up the cadence which i thought and that got that got the the eagles defensive line on one play that was pretty important um they they just seemed undisciplined their penalty numbers and you can argue for against maybe a couple of them but their penalty numbers uh were more than what they had in their first two games this to me is a team that did not look prepared tonight, which is wild because they have so much talent on both sides of the ball.

30:27Jourdan Rodrigue:And I know they are banged up on defense, but they have so much talent. And conceptually, you should see them take steps forward. Maybe you could argue their run game did take a small step forward in spots tonight. But having that defense be as susceptible as it was, was weird. and having them not get as much movement early on up front, having Case Keenum be, yes, he was getting the ball out really fast as well at times, having him be able to move the ball down the field the way that he did. Again, perhaps their plan the whole time was, we don't think he can do that, so let's just sell out for the run, perhaps.

31:06Jourdan Rodrigue:But they still do play that shell behind it. so to me it's like okay it just they seemed listless by the third quarter and certainly during that third quarter and it was wild to me greg how quickly this game felt over and especially in light of the fact that it's a 38 year old backup quarterback on the other side and a defense that has been giving up for the bears has been giving up big plays and just could not it just felt over by the third quarter but because it's the eagles and they close games like that and because it was the Bears defense, I kept thinking that was going to happen. So I was wrong.

31:41You were right.

31:42Jourdan Rodrigue:I watched the Titans game last week, and I was like, something's going to happen. Something's going to happen. Yes.

31:50I watched this offense enough, and we have a comment in the YouTube chat that cracks me up that points out that Sean Mannion was a terrible quarterback back in the day. And it reminded me, first of all, it's not fair. I mean, he was a professional quarterback, but he was teammates. With the Case Keenum at one point. Do you know the team?

32:12Jourdan Rodrigue:Oh, I was reading the comments. What did you ask me? That Sean Mannion and Case Keenum teammates on what squad? The Rams. The LA Rams. The 2016 Los Angeles Rams. And so maybe that helped. What a time to be alive. Look, the Eagles actually got Jonathan Grenard back. They used him as a situational pass pressure. He was effective. They're healthy enough on defense. I mean, they basically have their entire defensive line there for the first time. You have your linebackers there. Dejean's not 100%, but he's out there. They really have no excuses. And I think it really was game plan that beat them tonight.

32:52So the Eagles will have to regroup. And the Bears, who were probably thinking, man, this is going to be a tough stretch without Caleb Williams, are now looking at the division. okay, Minnesota's at 3-0, but we just won a game. This is what I talk about when I say managing the schedule. You just won a game in primetime with your backup. You've got to feel better about what's happening moving forward. What the heck, Kyrie? Let's get one more Case Keenum touchdown into this show. Let's listen to his first one, to Luther Burden.

33:22Jourdan Rodrigue:Six-minute drive, four different receivers caught the ball, third and two at the eight-yard line. Two receivers left. There's a toss up front on the pitch to Burden. who's fighting and fighting inside the five. Can he get the first down? Heck no. He got the touchdown. The scrum pushed him right into the end zone. Touchdown, Vernon. Touchdown, Bears. Oh, that's great. I love that Caleb Williams is doing a really, I hope, intentional impression of the, she doesn't even go here, guy. You've never seen Mean Girls, I'm sure. I have. I weirdly watched it for the first time in the last two years. I'm trying to think when, but it was great.

34:05It was great. The Bears have the Jets, the Packers, the Falcons coming up. We'll see when Caleb Williams is back, but all those games feel winnable. I don't think their defense is going to hold opponents to under 10 points each and every week, but with Khalif Raymond out there, with Luther Burden, who's looking good, Colston Loveland finally made some catches. I mean, if Roma Dunze didn't drop a great toss by Case Keenum, he would have had another touchdown pass tonight. Before we go, Jordan, if you have any final thoughts about what you learned.

34:41Jourdan Rodrigue:Got my cards. Who you want to give a shout out to or just life advice for people trying to make their way in this crazy world. Go for it now. Life advice, man. I still think that because, you know, I trust the Eagles defense over the long term. I do. And we talked about this for the Eagles is layer by layer. This is how something. Now, I don't know much about Sean Mannion as a play caller. I don't know how that's going to go. In terms of this system itself, layer by layer, and especially his experiences out of this system, which he also mentioned, like the Matt LaFleur offense And Gary Kubiak, and especially this run game, it's supposed to unfold in layers.

35:26Jourdan Rodrigue:It might take a minute. Saquon Barkley seems to be more hurt than maybe we are used to seeing or know fully. I thought he looked great tonight. Am I crazy? I don't know. He had the neck roll on. Anytime I see that, I think, man, you're hurting a lot more. I just thought how he started the game and definitely didn't finish. but like he was what I thought he did well what I thought he did well was seeing the layers of the outside zone blocking much better than than the first two weeks of the season and so that to me shows shows promise meanwhile if you're the Bears you just take what you can get here right they've got two quality backups in Tyson Bajant too who is back from the injury so it's kind of like play the hot hand kind of a situation for Ben Johnson I'm just curious I mean I they were in prime time here tonight.

36:15Jourdan Rodrigue:I'm curious what they change. I'm curious how they flip up the cadences again, because he was Mike the way that he was. I'm curious about just some of the little wrinkles that they throw in. You need every advantage right now to try to win games with a backup quarterback. And I like that we're seeing Ben Johnson do this for the first time in his career. I think backups right now are undefeated in starts this year. It's either five and over six and now. So shout out to Marcus Mariota and Case Keenum. Leading the way. Right. And all the backups that we thought were going to make the games unwatchable.

36:46We don't want them to be the, you know, playing each and every week. Jameis Winston, unfortunately, he's going to be there until it's J.J. McCarthy. Check out our breaking news show from earlier today. Oh, Daily Buzz.

36:57Jourdan Rodrigue:I hear that name finally stuck. Whose suggestion was that, Greg? Daily Buzz. Good job by Jordan with that training camp suggestion. And yeah, we'll keep an eye on Braxton Jones, the left tackle of the Bears, who was injured in this game. But overall, the Bears offensive line, I thought, did a really nice job protecting Case Keenum, as did the game plan. All right, let's get out of here. We are going to be back on Tuesday. Hit that music, Kyrie. We will be in the studio. It's going to be my friend, Colleen Wolfe. We are going to be drafting, not just like wide receivers, quarterbacks. We are going to be drafting the most ridiculous storylines of the 2026 season.

37:38Maybe Case Keenum will be part of it, but we gave him his love tonight. We'll see you then.

37:46You okay? You've been slowing down the last few blocks. Yeah, it's just my knee. It's been getting worse lately. Have you tried Signal Relief? What is that? It's a drug-free patch. It has these micro antennas built in that work with your body's own electrical signals to quiet the discomfort right at the source. There's no pills, wires, or hormones. Nothing is entering your body. Nah, that sounds like a gimmick. I thought so too, until I tried the patch. I wear it every day. I don't even think about my knee discomfort anymore. All right, I'll give it a try. I really need the relief. This is going to blow your mind.
