In short

NBA news “best of” discussion, focusing on (1) Caitlin Clark’s on-court antics and criticism for not playing defense, (2) whether the Miami Heat should pursue Kawhi Leonard instead of Ja Morant, and (3) the NBA ending tanking via a new 3-2-1 draft lottery system.

Guest backgrounds

The episode is hosted by Joe Ochoa and “Uncle Ocho” (no other guest identities are clearly provided in the transcript). It also references public figures as commentators/players (e.g., Cheryl Miller) but they are not listed as guests.

Key claims

  • Heat should target Kawhi Leonard for a more reliable fit than Ja Morant, citing Kawhi’s “best season” statistically and Heat culture/Pat Riley’s ability to integrate him.
  • Clark’s behavior (shoving/bench arguments) is “repeat offender” and her lack of defense is the real issue; coaches must set boundaries.
  • The new 3-2-1 lottery rules reduce incentives to tank by flattening odds and restricting consecutive top picks.

Notable examples

  • Clark and coach Stephanie White sideline exchange after a Portland game.
  • Washington trading for “80” as an example of tanking behavior.
  • Cavaliers drafting Kyrie Irving, Anthony Bennett, and Andrew Wiggins in consecutive years.

0:00Number one hits, millions of records sold, awards, sold out tours. You think the Jonas Brothers are satisfied? Nope. It's podcast time. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Hey Jonas is available now and their first guest is a big one, Paul Rudd. You know, Steve Carell is a great singer. Can you tell you not to audition at The Office or something? I told him. Whoa. We were filming Anchorman. Clearly I was the idiot. Thank God he didn't listen to me, right? Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

0:35Shannon Sharpe:podcasts according to our widerman the miami heat could pivot to kawaii leonard or ja marant if they lose in the yonis week states joe would you rather have yonis or would you rather have

0:48Chad Johnson:kawaii or ja in miami i'm going kawaii man kawaii just coming off i think statistically his best season. And, like we always talk about, bro, the Heat culture and how Pat Riley is, I think they'll have him right down there. He gonna be able to practice all that, Joe? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He ain't gonna have no damn choice. Well, he ain't gonna be Lee Kawhi alone. What'd you say?

1:14Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Ocho, Joe, it is hard. That man has not been on a regular practice schedule since 2018.

1:23Chad Johnson:Oh. he gonna have to get on when he come to Miami

1:27Shannon Sharpe:I'm just saying Joe do you know Joe think about it Joe you got think about it you own your schedule you've been on your own schedule since 2018 you was on your schedule in Toronto you've been on your schedule at the Clippers and to go after you've gotten Kawhi's probably what 33 34 years of age. Joe, I would believe you. If you say the man 26, 27, I say, okay. But Joe, I don't know, Joe.

2:02Chad Johnson:Man, they got some dogs over there. Great weather. You hear me? Great weather. Yes. Great environment. I can see him, you know, being ready, mentally prepared, you know, to come in and really do whatever he can to help their team get over the hump. I think Kawhi is a hell of a pickup if you ask me he is Joe but

2:27Shannon Sharpe:Joe you know the schedule Uncle Dennis Uncle Dennis was telling teams what it's going to be you know you heard you was in the league

2:37Chad Johnson:I heard Uncle Dennis ain't good there that's over with yeah yeah you come to Miami Uncle Dennis mapped it out Yeah, ain't. You know what it going to be? All this under the table stuff that y 'all got going down there in L.A., that ain't happening out here in Miami, man. I'll just let you know. Yeah, they ain't going. They ain't going.

2:59Joe Johnson:Listen, if we want to, if Pat Riley understands, right, Uncle Joe, if we want to be taken seriously as far as competing in the East, forget coming out the East. Just competing in the East in general, things are going to have to change. And if things have to change, it has to start at top. We're going to need Pat Riley, you know, to have a conversation with Mickey Harrison and tell Pat, you've got to loosen up the reins a little bit. You've got to evolve. The game has changed. You know, you can't be trying to coach and do things with an iron fist the way it worked in the 80s and the 90s. It's not going to work in today's era in the type of players that you're getting.

3:33Joe Johnson:In order for us to attract the kind of players we want to, to change the culture, which has been the winning culture before, but to get back to that winning culture and those winning ways, we're going to have to get players to come here, like the Kawhis, like the Jamarons, or the Giannis'. We don't want people second-guessing themselves about coming to one of the greatest cities to actually play in and having people say no because of Pat Riley.

3:58Shannon Sharpe:Joe, let me ask you a question. You want Kawhi for 60-65 games or you want him for 30-45 games? Because you're making practice, you know what you're going to get.

4:08Chad Johnson:Them knees can't take it. we're going to do a thorough investigation on his body, make sure he's right. But we need his ass to – they're going to need his ass to practice. You know what I mean? He can make that 65-game threshold. He can do it. He can do it. I think he already – look, look, even when you look at him, he already in elite shape. I mean, he's a guy who really takes care – he look like he really takes care of his body, bro.

4:35Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, but he got the knees over 55. His knees might be worse than mine.

4:39Chad Johnson:Well, hey, they got a nice conditioning program over there to keep him strong throughout the season, make sure he's good. Yeah, yeah. You can't go over there playing no damn 30, 35 games a season now. Come on. I've just tried to be honest with you, Joe. I've just tried to get you to temper your expectations. Yeah. No, bro. But, hey, look, because, I mean, I want to see Jai go somewhere else. I wouldn't mind seeing Jai in Miami. but damn they ain't gonna be able to get both of them should me? and my thing is Joe

5:17Shannon Sharpe:at this point and the Clippers gonna look back like hold on I don't know how the Clippers let him go because he's the only superstar that you got and you just built a two billion dollar arena so how do you let him go? who they gonna come see?

5:32Chad Johnson:they got the number five pick in this draft I think the Clippers just going to really

5:40Shannon Sharpe:Is that number five pick LeBron James? Is that number five pick Cooper Flagg? No. Is that number five pick Michael Jordan? It's got to be somebody they're going to want to see Joe. Yeah. Do you know he better be Shaq? He Shaq? If the number five pick you're going to be Shaq.

5:57Joe Johnson:Whoever the number five pick is is not going to fit out of the arena every night they play at home. No! I'm not saying it in a disrespectful way. Listen. Some people will come see him. I'm talking about Philly Arena every single night. Well, this is the problem you have.

6:12Chad Johnson:If you keep Kawhi too damn long, you ain't going to be able to get rid of him. You know, he still got some great value in him right now that I think some teams could use, and he can help him, you know, get to the finals, if not win a title. But you keep him too much longer, Uncle Ocho here. You ain't going to be stuck like Chuck. It's over with.

6:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I still want to put some butts in seats, Joe. Well, hey, you're going to have to get it through the draft

6:43Chad Johnson:and build up over the next couple years. I'm sorry. I don't know what to tell you.

6:47Shannon Sharpe:Because at the end of the day, as much as I love those guards, you know who they're coming to see in San Antonio, Joe.

6:53Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.

6:54Shannon Sharpe:And I think those guards are phenomenal. And respectfully, as I say this, Castle is phenomenal. Dylan Harper is going to be great. I like Vassell. I like everything about him. But they come in to see the alien.

7:08Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely right.

7:14Shannon Sharpe:You go to the circuit, there's only a few animals you want to see. I mean, when you go to the zoo, what you going to see? I'm going to see lions. Lions, tigers, gorillas, snakes. Now, if I happen to walk by and see a polar bear, that's fine. If I see the giraffe or I see the zebras, I'm cool too. But you know what you're going to see, and you go see those first. I'm going to go, where are the elephants at? Excuse me, sir, where are the elephants at? I'm going to go see the lions. Normally, the time that I go, them lazy mofos sleeping. Yeah, I was going to say that. You better hope the lions out.

7:51Joe Johnson:Because they sleep, what, 23 hours sleep? Hey. They so lazy. They lazy. Hey, they sleeping. I'm going to go see the silverbacks.

8:02Chad Johnson:Yeah.

8:04Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you know, hey, I got a little time. I might check out, go inside the enclosure and see the hippos.

8:10Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah.

8:11Shannon Sharpe:See a rhinoceros here or there. And then I'm going to go see the snakes. Try to catch them at feeding time. That's it. That's what I mean. Hey, if you're lucky enough, I think we've had to ship them all back. You go see the pandas. The kids love to see the pandas. They get the little stuffed animals that are pandas. You get to go see the pandas. Like, oh, they're cute and cuddly. They tear your ass up, but then people don't realize they're just cute and cuddly. They're black and white. But don't let that black and white fool you. They tear your ass up.

8:37Chad Johnson:Hell, yeah. Hey, my little one ain't before, boy. He love them gorillas, boy. The silverback. He love them gorillas. Boy, you see them jokers? I'm talking about all muscle. I'm talking about 400 pounds on all muscle. 400 pounds, Ocho Joe, with a 2 ,000-pound bench.

8:56Joe Johnson:damn and don't forget now not too long ago there was dialogue going on about 100 people versus one gorilla well i'll tell you what i want to be the 101 so hopefully 99 has wounded to beat him down so much but i i'm not in the first 10 or 15 because the first 10 you're gonna catch him you see they bite and with a bite force of probably a thousand pounds of pressure they bite your arm clean off bite, they'll snatch your arm clean off and beat the next man over the head with it

9:37Shannon Sharpe:so I want no part of it

9:43Joe Johnson:that was a good time with them people saying they can take on the gorilla boy That was a good time. Yeah, good luck with that. Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, Nick? Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Yeah, a pretty wide range of podcasts. We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with the name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it, And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.

10:26This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, hey, Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is.

11:00Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War. To get to school, I had to go down Robert E. Lee Boulevard. To get to the grocery store, I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're a historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akilah Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky Statehouse that's actually worth the wall space.

11:31We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that? They are just fueling a fire that is really catching. You'll see what I mean. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luka and Austin Reeves. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows, without Luka and Austin Reeves, I gotta manipulate the game.

12:12We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randle. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on a night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.

15:07Shannon Sharpe:NBA passes anti-tanking rules. 3-2-1 draft lottery system. Teams, 4-10, get three lottery balls. Both bottom three teams get two lottery balls. Playing teams get one to two lottery balls. 16 teams in the lottery with flattened odds, previously 14. Teams cannot pick number one in consecutive years. No top five picks in three consecutive years. The worst teams now have just a 5.4 % chance to get the number one pick. The team with three balls have an 8.1 % chance at the number one pick. The three worst teams are guaranteed to pick no lower than 12. Other lottery teams can fall as far as number 16.

15:58Shannon Sharpe:Joe Ocho, do you like this?

16:00Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. Yeah, hey, they trying to take away this tanking, bro. It's killing the game. You know, when you get teams midway through the season who feel like they got nothing to play for. Yeah. And, okay, boom. For instance, look at Washington. They went and traded for 80 in trade. I'm talking about they ain't even played none this season. You know what I mean? They say, hey, man, we got to tighten this ship up, bro. Because, look, if you don't, the tanking will continue and teams will continue to do whatever they can to try and get a top three pick. You know what I mean? I'm glad they're implementing all this in, bro.

16:41Chad Johnson:We got to do that change. Didn't the Cavaliers get three consecutive? They got Kyrie, Anthony Bennett, and Andrew Wiggins. Yeah. Back to back to back.

16:51Joe Johnson:Yeah. I like that. The funny thing about it, too long, it's crazy. I had this with a conversation with us earlier when we talked about the tanking rule. So obviously soccer and soccer and Joe, you know, if you don't play well, if you're playing at the bottom of the league, you get regular, you get relegated, you know, to a lower tier, a lower division. But obviously we, we, we opposed the question, you know, to Chris Paul about what do you think about the tank in basketball? And is there anything that, that we can do to teams and penalize them? Obviously there's no regulation because there's nowhere for, for NBA teams to go.

17:25Chad Johnson:Yeah.

17:26Joe Johnson:And obviously he had a really great answer and said, they need to be penalized because the players that are on the team have to suffer. They have to suffer, you know, and not being able to get the numbers they want to and do some of the things and being able to contribute to helping that team win where they're stifled and really have, really have no say. So, you know, when a team decides to tank.

17:46Chad Johnson:Yeah. Cause think about it. Look at it like this. If we all on the same team and they talking about, we tanking and it's on contract year. It's on contract year. He like, damn, the damn tank. I'm trying to get my damn numbers. Yeah, it affects you, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Hey, I got a question, Joe. And either put your ass on the bench or trade you. There you go. Hey, Joe, I'm glad you said that, Joe. They buy T. Lou and Cleveland. Yeah. Because they wanted T. Lou to take. T. Lou said, man, I'm trying to win. This is not T. Lou, you got to go. T. Lou ain't about no taking. Hell no.

18:17Joe Johnson:I could have told him that. Right. Hold on, Uncle Joe. Hey, if you own a team, right? Yes. And they know and they understand that you in a contract here. and in order to get your numbers, you have to play well. Do they take that into account if you're still going to be on that team and still pay you anyway because they decided to tank?

18:36Chad Johnson:Hell no. Hell no.

18:39Shannon Sharpe:I mean, it's like the expression, Joe, you know, I mean, Ocho, you know sometimes how you might finish. Let's just say we got the division. We got the thing sold up. We got the number one seed and we bent you and you two catches or you 20 yards. Yeah. They might go ahead and give you that money. because you would have got it. Yeah. Because I would be raising hell. Like, bro, you bench me and I'm two catches and 40 yards away from a million dollars? Yeah. No, I got to get that.

19:06Chad Johnson:Yeah. Hey, hey. If y 'all don't give me that money, I'm dressing up. Hey, with situations like that, because I think we've talked about it before. I know both of y 'all have probably been in those situations to where, you know, you probably had incentives that you was trying to meet at the end of the season. Do you talk to your quarterback about that? like, man, I need four catches. I need 60 yards a day. Joe, had I, you know, hey,

19:32Shannon Sharpe:I'd have had four 1 ,000-yard seasons. I didn't. But I didn't really, I was never, I'd never really like gotten to the quarterback area, the coordinator trying to throw the ball. Bro, y 'all know what I can do. I'm the best on the team. Give me the damn ball. And we lost that game. Oh, Joe, we was up 30 to 13. How are you lost? We lost 30-13 at the half. We end up losing the overtime 33-30. I ain't catch another pass. Go look up 1993, the last game of the season. See how many passes I caught at the half. I think I had six for a buck 15 and two tubs and then catch another pass, and we end up blowing a 17-point lead.

20:13Chad Johnson:Damn, how that happened? That's what I don't understand. You know what I mean? It's like when you see a guy got it going, you know what I mean? Like, damn, every time we throw in the ball, he getting out of that. He making something happen. He cooking it up.

20:26Shannon Sharpe:That's my homeboy, Bernie. Eddie Anderson, he went to the Valley. I caught a seven route. He was chasing me. I had the ball back like this here. He reached for it. Gone in the end, though. Chad, what I have? 1993, last game of the season, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos. Cooked them. Ain't got another pass that happens. Hey, Joe.

20:50Joe Johnson:You know, back then, when you play the Raiders, they're going to be right in your face all game long.

20:56Chad Johnson:Yeah.

20:57Joe Johnson:You know exactly what's coming. Right in your face all game long. All you got to do is get open. Cooked them so bad, they went and paid Albert Lewis top, top, top dollar money because he's the only one at that point in time that was giving me a problem. Yeah. I was blitzing everybody. It didn't matter. Your first corner, your best safety, your best linebacker, nobody was doing up with 84 back then. I had to work a little harder, but I gave him that work too.

21:25Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. I gave him that work too.

21:32I think I dropped 10 for$1.42 on him. A little something. A little something on Monday night. Yeah, yeah. Monday night?

21:41Chad Johnson:Mm-hmm. Hey, the Monday night game, a guy trying to show their ass like they man. Oh, yeah, because I knew everybody watching.

21:48Joe Johnson:Hey, who called your games? You had Madden on? I did.

21:57Actually, at that time, Madden was on Fox.

22:00Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Al Michaels and Dan Deardorff was Monday night.

22:07Chad Johnson:I think Boomer Sison was on Monday night also.

22:12Shannon Sharpe:But at that point in time, yeah. Summerall rest his soul Pat Summerall Summerall and John Madden they were Fox yeah

22:23Chad Johnson:I like Boomer oh you like Boomer Sazza yeah yeah hey he be having some he be having some dope sins that be the thing for me

22:32Joe Johnson:yeah Boomer Boomer nice you know I like I like Tony Romo you like Romo I like Romo simply for the fact that he's played the game so well and studied it so much obviously playing quarterback I like how he calls out the plays and tell you what's going to happen before it happened. 99.9 % of the time, he's always right because he's seen it before. And I'm not just talking about the Cowboys game. I'm just talking about games he's calling in general. It's funny watching him. Some people say they don't even like Romo. I don't know why.

23:02Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, we had Dick Enberg called a lot of my games because he was on NBC at the time. And the AFC package was on NBC at the time. but everybody gave it up. NBC had the AFC package. They gave it up. CBS got it back. CBS had the NFC package. They gave it up. That's how Fox came in and got it because like you know back up saying Fox, guess what Fox had? Martin, the Simpsons in living color in Fox News. Hey boy in living color back then?

23:37Chad Johnson:Was sick. Oh my goodness. Hey, you run to see it. In Living Color.

23:44Joe Johnson:That's it. That's it. You watch In Living Color, Joe? Hell yeah. Come on, man. My favorite, Firebill Marshall. Firebill Marshall. Yeah. Firebill Marshall. Oh my goodness. Think about all the comedians that came out of that. Yeah. A lot of them. David Allen Greer. Tommy Davidson.

24:03Shannon Sharpe:Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx, yeah. Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey. you got Damon Wayans Sean Kenan did comedy early but he had really turned into a writer he was doing more writing than actually doing stand up but think about all the guys that came up out of there yep

24:26Joe Johnson:hey what's the one two snaps that was Damon Wayans and David Allen Greer Yeah.

24:38Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey. That damn homie don't play that. Over the clouds? Homie don't play that. Hey, hey, can I smash it? So you want me to fall down and hurt myself to your amusement? Homie don't play that.

24:54Homie, homie, can I smash this pie in your face? So you want to humiliate me in front of all these people. He take the pie and hit him in his face. Homie don't play that.

25:04Joe Johnson:Hey, remember the Jamaicans? Hey, they had all the jobs? Oh, yeah. Oh, man.

25:12Chad Johnson:Hey, they don't make shows like that no more, bro. We used to have some good shows coming up the white. No, no, no, no, no. Hey, we done got too conscious. Hey, that stuff that Martin used to do with Mr. McAfee when he had that big old boot. Yeah. Come here, boy. Come here. McAfee. What you want, Mr. McAfee?

25:35Joe Johnson:That was classic TV back then.

25:38Shannon Sharpe:You can't, like I said, in the 70s, Joe, they used to say the N word with the E-R. Yeah. Really? It was no G8. It was E-R. The sitcoms, you go back and look at Archie Ball and the family, and you look at the Jeffersons, and you look at some of those sitcoms, and it's like, but you didn't think about it back then. It didn't even dawn on me that it was like, oh, okay, okay. and now you're like golly man look how they talk they made fun of it wasn't nothing off limits if you have a disability whatever they made fun of you yeah

26:15Joe Johnson:I was like oh my god hey Joe you ever seen All in the Family

26:20Chad Johnson:All in the Family they never sound familiar

26:22Joe Johnson:with Archie Bunker

26:24Shannon Sharpe:yeah yeah yeah hey boy he spawned a lot of shows I mean you think about all those shows Maude came after that Golden Girls Jefferson's there are a lot of shows that came from that Rob Reiner rest his soul who tragically lost his life his son killed him he was meathead that was his son-in-law damn he became a great writer He wrote When Harry Met Sally. I think he wrote A Few Good Men also.

27:04Joe Johnson:Hey, that was a phenomenal, phenomenal, well-written movie, boy. A Few Good Men? Oh, my goodness. Hey, recite that thing one time. Recite that thing one time. See, Joe ain't ready for that. Hey, show Joe. Hit Joe. Hey, wait. He's been hitting Denzel Washington. He wrecked it.

27:21Chad Johnson:Okay. Hey, look. He out there to portier tonight. Y 'all want that portier?

27:26Joe Johnson:Hit that thing. You want answers? I think I'm entitled to them. You want answers.

27:32Shannon Sharpe:I want the truth. You can't handle the truth. Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's going to do it? You, Lieutenant Weinberg. I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You reek for Santiago. You curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. Santiago's death while tragic probably saved lives. My appearance, grotesque and incomprehensible to you, save lives. You don't want the truth cut deep down in places at parties you don't talk about. You want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.

28:06Shannon Sharpe:We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words of a backbone of a lifetime spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I haven't the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of freedom that I provide and then questions the matter in which I provided. I rather you said thank you. It went on your way or pick a weapon up at standard post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to. Did you order the code red? I did my job. Did you order the code red? You're damn right I did.

28:41Hey, boy, you got that damn pack, don't you, man? Let's go. You know how many times I went to see that in the movie? I probably saw that movie 50 times in the movie.

28:51Joe Johnson:And that scene, that scene right there in that courtroom, one of the best ever. One of the best scenes ever.

29:03Chad Johnson:Hey, I see somebody in the chat saying Family Matters.

29:07Joe Johnson:Oh, yeah. That's a good one. That's a good one. Family Matters with Urkel?

29:13Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, it should be some good shows, bro, back in the day. Absolutely.

29:18Joe Johnson:Really good. Hey, Joe, you remember Small Wonder?

29:20Chad Johnson:Yeah, I remember Small Wonder.

29:22Joe Johnson:Hey, remember Punky Brewster?

29:24Chad Johnson:Yeah, you remember Full House?

29:25Joe Johnson:Oh, yeah, I remember Full House, man, with the pins.

29:29Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, hey. I used to watch all that, bro.

29:33Joe Johnson:Yeah, hey, I bet you remember Fraggle Rock. Fraggle Rock. Conjunction Junction, what's your function? Hey, what about Alf? You used to watch Alf? Yeah, yeah. Hey, Willie.

29:49Joe Johnson:Hey, matter of fact, hi, baby. My daughter, Kennedy, Kennedy's watching. She has school tomorrow. I know school is almost over and out for the summer, but there's no reason you should be up this time of night. Daddy love you. Okay, now go to bed.

30:03Shannon Sharpe:Whoever saw the movie Malice? Malice? With Alec Baldwin and Nicole Kidman? You saw it? I ain't seen that one. When he had the God complex.

30:14Joe Johnson:Oh, I got to check that out.

30:17Shannon Sharpe:It was good? It means like I have an MD from Harvard. I am board certified in cardiothoracic medicine and trauma surgery. I receive seven citations from New England Medical Boards, and I'm never, ever sick at sea. So you ask, when someone goes into that chapel and they fall on their knees, that their wife doesn't miscarry, that their daughter doesn't bleed to death, or their mother doesn't suffer post-operative shock, who do you think they're praying to? when you go to church and you read your Bible Dennis and with a little luck you might win the annual raffle but if you're looking for God he was in the operating room number two on November 17th and he doesn't like to be second guess so you ask if I have a God complex I am God to the sideshow it's over

31:09Chad Johnson:that boy good that boy be locked in that boy good Yeah. Hey. What we talking about, man? But I'm saying I used to go to movies all the time. I like to go to movies and if something like that right there,

31:24Shannon Sharpe:I'm going back again. I will go back again and I will go back again. And then I'm going to learn that part. And I'm good.

31:32Joe Johnson:But that Jack? Hey, Jack was special, boy. Jack was special. No, he was.

31:41Shannon Sharpe:A Few Good Men, As Good As It Gets. Yeah. Have you seen it with Greg Kinnear in As Good As It Gets? Yeah. He was in another movie. Obviously, he was in the first Joker, first Batman. What was that other? Oh. Here's Johnny. Johnny. Yeah. Yeah. He was hitting that dope coming there. Here's Johnny.

32:07Joe Johnson:Hey, I know you saw Glory, Joe. You saw Glory? Yeah.

32:10Chad Johnson:I've seen Glory.

32:11Joe Johnson:Glory, Denzel, Morgan Freeman.

32:13Chad Johnson:Yeah.

32:13Joe Johnson:Some really, really good scenes in Glory. Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood. There Will Be Blood. He drank the milkshake. Clack, clack. That scene in that little bowling alley? Yeah, he... Man. That's my favorite actor, man. I wish I could meet Daniel Day-Lewis, man. Man, that joke. Hey, that Jack, when he played that first Batman,

32:38Shannon Sharpe:he get that newspaper, he looks up, wing fiend terrorized the city. Where did they get a load of me? I did on the sideline. I said NFL fields. They came. I just scored a touchdown on somebody. I forget who I scored a touchdown on. And I said his brother sets NFL record. Where did they get a load of me? Mitchell Robinson, guys. The Knicks got some bad news. Mitchell Robinson is out with a broken pinky finger. Sean's report and no timetable on his return. Joe, how bad will this impact the Knicks?

33:15Chad Johnson:Damn, what was he doing, huh?

33:17Shannon Sharpe:Probably in practice.

33:20Chad Johnson:Man, that's a finger. Your game is predicated off energy and effort. Energy and effort. Shot blocking. It ain't like hell. They throw him the ball and he, you know, go get us a bucket. Yeah, you better take that damn finger up and get ready to go.

33:39Joe Johnson:All you got to do is just take these two, huh, Joe? Take these two together. Which finger was it, Unc? Did it say? The pinky. You mean which hand was it? You say he broke his finger, right? He broke his pinky.

33:55Chad Johnson:His pinky on what hand?

33:57Joe Johnson:It don't matter, Joe. Just take these two together right here. And let's go.

34:02Shannon Sharpe:It wasn't like he was shooting anyway. All right, Damian Wooden said, I'm going to need some basketball dudes to help me understand why Mitchell Robinson missing time with a broken pinky. I broke my hand in training camp, had surgery, and had the whole damn hand in the cast and didn't miss a game.

34:17Chad Johnson:Hell, and he still got time, man. The finals will start to the fifth. Hell, he got plenty of time. Hey, Joe, we know y 'all the softest ones, Joe. I mean, come on now. Stop that. Oh, come on. Don't start. Don't start. Don't start that. How many times we done play with dislocated fingers? and like Joe Ochoa say, take the fan together or get a split.

34:39Joe Johnson:Yeah. That's it. He's a defensive player anyway. And when he goes to the line, he gonna miss anyway, so we not counting on him making no shots. He ain't gonna do no but don't.

34:50Chad Johnson:Unless it's so bad to where he really needs surgery or something. Nah. I don't know.

34:56Joe Johnson:Surgery gonna have to wait till after game six.

35:03I don't think, sir, you're going to It's his right hand But, like, man, he ain't shooting no shots anyway He getting dunks and putbacks And he rebounded

35:15Chad Johnson:It's going to be hard to play his ass Because it's going to be Hacker Robinson, too Oh, yeah, they're going to buy him He damn sure ain't going to make no free throws now Joe,

35:26Shannon Sharpe:he was shooting 15 % to begin with so now he's going to shoot 10.

35:29Chad Johnson:Damn.

35:31Joe Johnson:Oh, that's bad. Hey, Joe, why he can go to a free throw coach in the offseason, Joe?

35:36Chad Johnson:Man, that just comes from putting in, you got to put the work here, Ocho.

35:40Joe Johnson:Maybe his hand's too big for the ball.

35:43Chad Johnson:Nah, hell not.

35:43Joe Johnson:Maybe he's too big for the ball, huh? Joe?

35:46Chad Johnson:You got, hey, hey, anything is repetition, bro. Get your ass to practice, bro. Make 100 free throws before practice, make 100 after. Boy, that man will be there the whole year. Hey, well, Hey, that's what it's going to take. Joe talking about make 100 free throws. Yeah, yeah. Number one hits, millions of records sold, awards, sold out tours. You think the Jonas Brothers are satisfied? Nope. It's podcast time. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Hey, Jonas is available now, and their first guest is a big one, Paul Rudd. You know, Steve Carell is a great singer.

36:23Can he tell you not to audition at The Office or something? I told him. Whoa. We were filming Anchorman. Clearly I was the idiot. Thank God he didn't listen to me, right? Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War. To get to school, I had to go down Robert E.

36:55Lee Boulevard. To get to the grocery store, I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're an historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akilah Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky Statehouse that's actually worth the wall space. We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that? They are just fueling a fire that is really catching. You'll see what I mean. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

37:36What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luka and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luka and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randle.

38:11And then he has to give us everything he gives us on a night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quinton Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.

38:20Chad Johnson:Steve Nash would get that thing That man, hell get the flying He running on the court licking his fingers while he got the ball Like, after you go through a training camp with that Isaiah You figure it out real quick Get your ass up and down the court And you gonna get the ball So listen to Point Game on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts

39:07We'll be right back. From everyday and ordinary to the deep and extraordinary. This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine. Do you remember that we met even way before? Let me think.

40:16Did you walk up to the gate? That was me, D. That was you? That was me. The day we found out that you and the whole crew was at Hit Factory, the mission was to get me to go to the gate, start freestyling, and see if I could get in the studio. I'm rapping, and then suddenly I hear a voice. Hey, open the gate. Let him in. The gate slowly went. They all there watching this, and they watch me walk into there, And that is a moment that I will remember for the rest of my life. Listen to Laugh But Not Least with MC Jin starting on June 9th on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

40:53Okay, okay, Joe.

40:55Shannon Sharpe:While there are many moments of frustration for the Indiana Fever and their 184 loss to Portland Fire Saturday night, The one that got the most attention involved the sideline exchange between Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White at one point in the game A fan caught a video of white and Caitlin arguing on the bench during the break in the action presumably over defense Let's look at this video

41:46Joe Johnson:I ain't really seen nothing now I mean I saw Caitlin Clark be a little demonstrative outside of that

41:56Shannon Sharpe:you can't be demonstrative Ocho

42:01Chad Johnson:What you mean as a coach or as a player?

42:03Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. Cheryl Miller on NBC Today said, right now it's frustration and unfortunately it's boiling over and it's being seen. It's one thing to have it behind closed doors. But when it spills over, when the coach has to say basically, hey, you know what, Caitlin? Enough is enough. This is too disruptive. In or out? Take a seat.

42:26Chad Johnson:All right, listen. I respect coaches like that, bro. When you can challenge your best player and your best player responds, I ain't talking about it in the way to where it seems like they got an attitude and they don't want to do it. But, you know, maybe you're right. Let me lock in. You know what I mean? Like, I ain't... The back and forth is not a bad thing to me, fellas. You know, it happens from time to time. When you policing players, this is what comes with it. And if you can't police your best player, bro, then it's always going to be a problem. But the problem is, Joe, this is not isolated.

43:01It's every night. She doesn't play defense. And she got some – why are you trying to draw up a play offensively? Guard your man defensively. Girl, look, y 'all know me. I've been on Kaitlin – been in Kaitlin Clark's corner. But enough is enough now. I'm tired of her behavior. I'm tired of the shoving. I'm tired of the elitist. I'm titled the entitlement. Enough is enough. Play basketball. She's not holding up her end. And I love Stephanie White for this. It was a very similar situation where LeBron was trying to draw something when Ty Lue first got the job. And Ty Lue said, I got this.

43:44Chad Johnson:Right. Gotta let him know who in charge.

43:55I wrote a little passion. Where is that passion on defense? Y 'all say she got passion. Where is the passion on defense? Because guess what everybody doing? What they doing, Joe? Attacking her.

44:08Chad Johnson:Yep. The same thing they do with all scores when you don't play. Luca, the best score in the NBA. Tell me where they go.

44:18Chad Johnson:That's how you offset it. Make the ass work on defense. You think you finna just come down? Go ahead. Huh? You think you finna just come down, average 25, 30 points a night, and ain't gonna have no pushback on defense? We finna make your ass guard. What? We finna make you work, man. We finna seek you out every time.

44:43Shannon Sharpe:I love the fact that, Joe, that you're on here and you get it. What a lot of times I don't think people get, and people are like, oh, I love passion. if your coach can't coach you, you might as well just go ahead and get them up out of there. Yeah, you got to go. It won't be long because if your best player keeps disrespecting you, they're not going to respect you either.

45:05Chad Johnson:Right.

45:06Shannon Sharpe:The only reason it worked in New England, Ochoa, was why? Because Coach Belichick got the ultimate respect from Tom Brady. If your best player doesn't respect you, you might as well just go and get you another coach.

45:19Chad Johnson:Absolutely right. I totally agree.

45:21Shannon Sharpe:Every night is something. She's pushing somebody. She's serving somebody. She's doing something. And I've given you the benefit of the doubt. And I understand you missed last year and you're trying to get your rhythm back. But enough now. Come on now. You're too good of a player. But you can't just play one end of the court. Right. And don't show your coach up. If you want to be passionate, be passionate on both ends of the court.

45:51Chad Johnson:Yeah. Seems like you want to be passionate when they draw up this play. No, no, no, no, no, no. I can't draw up no play. Hell, you getting cooked on nothing. I draw up a defensive play. Make that one work. That's the plan. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, the thing about trying to show your coach up, bro, like especially in the NBA, if you got 30, 32 other teams watching, man, nobody want to deal with that, bro. Nobody want to deal with no damn headache. What'd you say? Tolerance over productivity? Production and tolerance. They only going to deal with so much, bro. They only going to deal with so much.

46:31Shannon Sharpe:And the problem is, Ocho and Joe, and you know this, is that when the production slip, you gone. They don't let guys that be great and been a problem, they don't let them stay long. Oh, they waiting for that moment. Just a little. Oh, yeah, he can't get up out of there.

46:53Chad Johnson:You got to get him out of here.

46:54Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

46:56Chad Johnson:Absolutely right.

46:57Shannon Sharpe:Enough. Enough. I've seen enough. I've watched enough games. There's always something. She's pushing players. She's stepping on players. You'll catch the right young lady. You'll catch the right one on the wrong day. Yeah. My grandma should tell me. and my brother's, okay. Y 'all gonna catch the right one, but it's gonna be the wrong day.

47:21Chad Johnson:Absolutely. Hey, you gotta take some accountability. Yes. I know we talk about that a lot, but she has to accept that part, bro. You know, showing up your coach, it ain't gonna be a good look. And you got your teammates, bro, who gonna look at you different. Now, they may not tell you, but they gonna look at you different. Because they understand you're kind of being coddled since you got here. Yeah. Everybody has bent over kind of backwards to appease you. Yeah. Yeah.

47:58Shannon Sharpe:Randy will tell us all the time, boy, don't be ugly. Make people don't like you. Frank.

48:09Frank. Well, I don't like them either.

48:19Chad Johnson:Yeah, she got to fix that, Uncle Ojo.

48:22Joe Johnson:Yeah, I mean, you know, and for me, I mean, I hear both of you talking,

48:30Joe Johnson:and to me, it's not enough. It's not enough. You understand who she is. You understand how she plays the game, and a player showing passion, and that magnitude in that moment. I don't think she means for it to me. That is what they called it when you did it. Oh, well, you know how it is when I do it. You know that. And you know why. It's passion. Because I was a repeat offender. You want to win. It's passion, but I'm a repeat offender, and I don't have the leeway to be able to do it. She is a repeat offender. Also, you need to watch her. Watch her. I need you to do me a favor.

49:05Shannon Sharpe:The next time they play, watch her game and watch her antics on the court.

49:09Joe Johnson:Right. I see the highlight sometimes. Watch it. Watch it. I watch. Right, right, right. And, Chad, y 'all know I've been one of her biggest proponents. I've been in her corner. I've been a champion. I don't tolerate this kind of behavior. Right. Mm-mm. So you wanted to take just the – I wanted to play. I want to let the coach coach. She already got one coach fired. the first coach you gotta fight you fired Stephanie White just got there and they gave the aces all they can handle and they didn't have a Kaitlyn Clark. Kaitlyn Clark is not playing any defense they're attacking her

49:55Chad Johnson:yeah she gotta tighten up

50:02at some point in time for a coach to be worth his or her merit. You got to draw a line.

50:12Chad Johnson:Yep. You got to draw a line. The players will run over you. They will. More times than not, there's a reason why we got laws and rules and regulations. People ain't going to do right. They won't. That's just in people's nature. More times, Barney Porter used to tell us all the time, he said, boy, give them a choice to do right or wrong, and there's no one there to hold us accountable

50:35Shannon Sharpe:before the wrong how many people do you think gonna do right and how many people you think gonna do wrong

50:45Joe Johnson:yeah depending what the wrong is I'm sure we're trying to get away with stuff that's my point see people when I say wrong people always go to the boat the boat egregious yeah okay what about speeding if you know the police wasn't under how fast would you go in that 55 if I need my car was behind and they

51:03Shannon Sharpe:didn't see your litter. If you can walk into the store and shoplift and get something, give them a choice to do right or wrong. We know what the rights are. We know what the wrongs are. Hey, Joe.

51:16Chad Johnson:What's up?

51:17Joe Johnson:I'm going to steal some Hanes underwear now.

51:19Chad Johnson:You going to steal some?

51:21Joe Johnson:Some Hanes underwear?

51:23Chad Johnson:Yeah.

51:23Joe Johnson:You ain't going to get caught? Some Hanes underwear and Hanes tank tops? Yeah. With me, boy. No. I ain't stealing no drawers. I'm just saying, I'm just saying me. It definitely ain't no food in Lululemon's either. You see, you don't get shopping Target. Hey, hey, hey, you don't shop in Target, so you don't understand. I do shop in Target. What the hell you think I get deodorant and toothpaste and mouthwash? So where you get your undies from? Uh... See, you bougie, you bougie. Who is that?

51:55Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah, that's bougie. Lululemon. That's what he talking about. Yeah, um, you don't get your... I ain't want no white draw since I was probably 30 years old. Who wear white draw? I wear, I don't wear a white draw.

52:09Joe Johnson:I wear briefs from, from Target. The white ones? No, the multi-pack, the multi-color, 10-pack. Black, black, gray. They black, blue, and gray. Yeah, yeah, man. Target don't play. See, I don't really shop at Target, man. I do shop at Target. I get

52:29Shannon Sharpe:I get shower gel I get mouthwash I get toothpaste I buy I bought like 15 packs Oral-B toothbrushes 4 packs So I got like 65 toothbrushes I go through a toothbrush like every 2 weeks

52:47Chad Johnson:Damn I thought Hold on hold on So the boycott That's all for Target We back at Target now Man I gotta get something out of there Y 'all live in the Star Y 'all a bit of hell be out here funky. Hold on, it was a boycott, John? Huh? It was a boycott? Oh, man, come on. Come on, man. Wait, when this started? Hey, hey, hey, I'm going to hit my people. I'm going to hit my people at, I'm going to hit the Walls, man, the Walmarts. I'm going to get us a sponsorship on here from Walmart. That way, you know, we get some good stuff. I sure won't go. Hey, I got, like I said, and I buy in bulk anyway. I got like, I probably got about, 10 things of mouthwash.

53:31Probably got about 12, 14

53:34Shannon Sharpe:toothpaste. Got about 60 toothbrushes. Got about... Damn. I'm out of shower gel. I'm out of shower gel to last me for a year.

53:51Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, why you telling me that? Joe, I ain't know that.

53:54Chad Johnson:Oh, man. Oh, Joe, what rock you been hiding Where you been?

53:57Joe Johnson:Joe, you know I live on a rock, but man, I'd be right here. But I'm going to switch to Walmart, Dan. But they, uh... You know they all tell us they've got the same Hanes at Walmart. Man, I ain't...

54:09Shannon Sharpe:I ain't got... Man, I ain't brought no... I remember, man, we used to buy Fruit of the Loom. You watched them jokers one time, the waistband, so God does. You got to buy a kid-sized draw and just wash them, and then they fit perfect. If you buy one of your waist-sized draws and wash them... Yeah. Yeah, it's a wrap. It's a wrap. Man, if y 'all ride your knees. Man, couldn't nobody fall in the lane back then and back in the day. Man, you getting a Fruit of Loo, y 'all. Ain't nothing worse.

54:39Chad Johnson:Boy, ain't nothing worse than having some loose drawers. Man, Joe. Man, that waistband stretch out. Ain't nothing worse than that. Ain't nothing worse than that, fellas. I'm sorry. Boy, as a kid, boy, ain't nothing worse than that. Man, you already know what's going to happen. You buy the Fruit of Loo. boy my grandma said boy take them kidney draws back I like granny we gotta get them small so you wash them one time boom they gonna be perfect you basically if you a 32 you better get you a size 28 draws damn

55:18Joe Johnson:damn I'm glad you put me on game I wait

55:22Chad Johnson:clearly it's over with Oh, Joe.

55:25Joe Johnson:Shoot, no it ain't. Boy, the chat say where I been at.

55:28Chad Johnson:Yeah. I'm trying to.

55:30Joe Johnson:I mean, hey, what about Amazon? I get my socks from Amazon.

55:35Chad Johnson:You get the socks from Amazon?

55:37Joe Johnson:What kind of socks? Yeah, I get the crunch socks, Joe. They call Hugh. Hugh Slouch. I'm sorry, not Crunch Slouch. Oh, okay. They're like, what is?

55:50Chad Johnson:Nah, nah.

55:53Joe Johnson:I got to squish them down. They slouch socks. They nice. I like them. They're called Hue. H-U-E. I wear footies. Oh, see, I don't like it.

56:06Shannon Sharpe:You have your ankles out and all that? I can't remember the last time I wore socks that came above my ankles.

56:13Joe Johnson:Yeah, I always... My ankles too small. That's why I always wear the dick socks. You small. Who? No, I'm 205. You saw me in person. You see how big I done got.

56:24Chad Johnson:You say you 205. Costco sale clothes too, right?

56:29Joe Johnson:And I ain't get no damn membership. You know how much they charge for a membership? I don't know. How much? Like$50? I ain't paying no$50. I can't just walk in and buy what I want to. I don't belong there. $70 a year, right? Yeah. Nah, hey, I ain't got a pre-check. You think I'm going to buy a membership to Costco?

56:49Shannon Sharpe:I'm getting pre-checked. Hell no. I don't know about you, but that's why you don't live in Atlanta or L.A. Because if you hadn't lived in L.A., you're going to get pre-checked.

57:00Joe Johnson:Got to. This is what you don't understand, Joe. If I got to fight at 11 o 'clock, Joe, I'm going to type to show up to the airport at 9 o 'clock, 9.15. That still ain't going to get you through. I got to get my coffee. That ain't going to get you through. I get my coffee. Them lines are two hours long, Ocho. and they got 40, 50 lanes. Atlanta's the busiest airport in the world. In the world, yeah. Leave out of there on a Monday or Friday if you want to because people leaving, going to work, okay. Go to show up at 11 o 'clock, show up at 9 o 'clock and see what happened to you.

57:35Chad Johnson:That thing be thinking there, old Joe. That thing be back around them to buy bags clean. Hey, I be thinking. and I say, I be thinking them lines be so long. Sometimes I be like, well, I'd have been in the car, whoever he was. Hey, man, I ain't gonna make it, bro. Like, hey, I ain't even know I had anxiety until I get in that damn airport. Yes. Do you hear me? You ain't gonna tell me nothing, Joe. Hey.

58:02Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, they be bothering you when you go to the airport?

58:05Chad Johnson:I mean, it's not necessarily bothering. You know, they always bring up nightcap talking about how crazy you're an uncle. Hey, no, you're an uncle. It's Ocho. No. Nah, you right with him. Hey, you guilty by association. Hold on, what about you? Yeah, hey, hey. So, you know, they always stop and ask me something about y 'all. You know what I mean? So yeah, they ask me quite. Every time somebody see me, they ask me something. Hell, man, I don't know what the hell they doing here. Yeah. Dude asked me today, dude older than me, the white dude. Tell me about, hey, you on from that show? I look. I'm like, I don't know, bro.

58:44You're 70. How you gonna talk about Am I Unc from the show? Yeah, yeah. Like, yeah. He tell me, hey, that was Shelly Sharp. He's a Hall of Famer. I'm like, bro, you just call me Unc. You older than me.

58:58Joe Johnson:The funniest thing, too, Joe, and this is the kind of reach I don't think you understand that we have. We have NICAP, and I just left TST. I left the soccer tournament. You have players that have flown from all over the world, from all over the world, in Europe, Brazil, Chile, and everybody's here under one umbrella in rally for a tournament, but everybody knows about nightcap. Everybody watches nightcap. And it is funny, some people, dudes barely know English.

59:29Chad Johnson:They know nightcap.

59:31Joe Johnson:How's Unc? How's Joe doing? I'm like, how you know about nightcap and you live all the way? And the mother shows you to change their name, Ocho. They don't have to. They don't have to because it's only when you say night guy. They already know. Everybody knows exactly. They already know.

59:47Chad Johnson:They already know. They already know.

59:49Joe Johnson:Yeah, that was dope. Just to hear people that they all the way in Europe, Joe.

59:53Chad Johnson:Yeah.

59:54Joe Johnson:We love, we love, we love y 'all show. You guys are really funny. We love y 'all too. The Aces got back to their winning ways.

1:00:00Shannon Sharpe:They beat the Valkyries 91-81. Asia Wilson, 28 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks. Jackie Young got back to looking like Jackie Young, 23 points, 9 assists. She was 9 of 17 from the field, 5 of 9 from the three-point line, and she grabbed seven rebounds. The victory gave Becky Hammonds 150th coaching victory and made her the second-fastest coach to reach that milestone. She did it in 205 games, seven behind Van Chancellor, who set the record when he coached the Houston Comets. Gabby Williams led the Valkyrie with 20 points man Asia look when they're playing when them two guards when Asia is Asia and Jackie Young one of those guards played they held they held

1:00:50Chad Johnson:they are bro they gonna be tough to beat you know you right when Asia is playing like this and she can't be stopped 15 boys, 28 points. It ain't I don't know. I don't even know if they got a girl in WNBA who matches up well with her.

1:01:11Shannon Sharpe:No. Because you see how she moves? She's not she doesn't move like a lady. Her she's sudden and she's lefty. She's added a three. She's got a midi. She can put the ball on the floor. She can get to the rim. You file her. but as a two-way player, she give you points, rebounds, and block your shots.

1:01:38Chad Johnson:You know, with women, though, especially like in Asia's position because she's a center, she need good guard play. And she got two of the best. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And when they playing well, when they playing well, that's what makes them virtually impossible to beat. And, man, what you call them?

1:01:55Shannon Sharpe:Look, this was a very important game to them because they played their starters in major minutes. and Kennedy Carter, who's been unbelievable. Right now, she'd be the sixth woman of the year. She's been amazing. She only played nine minutes, but she still gave you six points, Joe. She was perfect from the field, one-on-one from the three-point line and three-of-four from the free-throw line. She was amazing.

1:02:21Chad Johnson:Yeah, hey, hey, Becky rode them horses today. Nah, hey, hey. Unlike Ron Turcotte on Secretariat. Hey, he got to the top. He took the backup button and said, I don't even need it today. And that chestnut coat laid it down. Come on home. And you see him turn back over and look like, God, are y 'all even running? Hey. Damn. Becky had to whip out the day on him. Come on. Come on home. Yeah. Facts. Facts. Hey, sometimes, hey, buddy, sometimes that's what it takes. Hey, if you in a little rut or you trying to bounce back, hey, I need to get it together. Yeah.

1:03:10Shannon Sharpe:Gabby Williams, she played for the French team, didn't she? She played for the French team? Because I think she got dual citizenship, so I think she played for the French team. Because remember, Joe, in the Olympics, she had to hit that shot, but her foot was on the line. Who is this? Gabby Williams. Yeah, for the Valkyries. Golden State. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Kea Stokes, she was on, I think she played with the Aces last year. Kind of doing what she's done before. No points, seven rebounds.

1:03:41Chad Johnson:I think I read somewhere the Golden State Valkyries, they're like a top franchise already.

1:03:47Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah, they're the most expensive franchise. I think they're worth a billion.

1:03:51Chad Johnson:A billion? But what makes them, how's that?

1:03:55Shannon Sharpe:They own the building in which they play in.

1:03:58Chad Johnson:damn

1:03:58Shannon Sharpe:like the Liberty

1:04:03Chad Johnson:oh yeah huh hell man we should have got in and got us a percentage on uh the dream hell yeah we could have got in we could have got it real cheap ain't nothing cheap now

1:04:19Shannon Sharpe:Houston yeah Tillman hey yeah Tillman Fertitta just bought well he bought the Suns last year they're relocating to Houston the son, Connecticut son. All righty. They going back to the Comets.

1:04:32Joe Johnson:They going back to the Comets.

1:04:34Chad Johnson:That'd be the Comets. No, I think they going back to the Comets. They done something to be able to get that Comet back. And that's going to be dope. I remember as a kid, bro, sitting there watching Cynthia Cooper and them play. They had Coops. They had Tina Thompson. They had Perot. They had Souks. Yeah. They were loaded. When the WNBA first kicked out, them girls were not playing.

1:04:59Shannon Sharpe:Well, you ain't going to see what they did. They won four straight. Because they had two of the top five players on one team. And Tina Thompson wasn't no slouch.

1:05:08Chad Johnson:Oh, no.

1:05:08Shannon Sharpe:So they might have had three of the top seven, top eight players on one roster. And the only thing that hurt them is that Coop was getting older.

1:05:19Chad Johnson:She was cold. What?

1:05:21Shannon Sharpe:Man, Coop was like that. I think she was cold.

1:05:26Chad Johnson:she was nice but I'm talking about putting up numbers yes damn

1:05:31Shannon Sharpe:but congratulations I got to check out a comics game I'm trying to say who they can play who I want to see them play they got to play somebody good nah you know what when you got stars like Asia and Grey and Young you don't care who they play because the best talent is on the home court it ain't like you go you know you play you want them teams and you wait for the lakers or you wait for somebody good to come play hell we got the best players right here because i saw him play i saw him play a couple years ago i saw him play uh caitlin clark uh the who you talking about the

1:06:10Chad Johnson:aces
