In short
Brandon Aiyuk’s Instagram “crash out” amid 49ers drama and trade speculation; Kyler Murray’s QB1 “battle” with J.J. McCarthy in Minnesota; plus a brief college football controversy involving Texas Tech QB Brandon Sorensby and an injunction.
Guest backgrounds
The episode features hosts Ocho Joe and Chad (sports commentators). They discuss NFL business, contracts, and on-field performance from a player/industry perspective.
Key claims
Aiyuk’s IG post uses “riddle” analogies to argue the 49ers won’t “pick” him, so he’s taking his “toy” elsewhere; hosts say teams will be cautious trusting his behavior and may offer only a “prove-it deal,” especially coming off an ACL. They argue Minnesota will prioritize Murray reps because he needs continuity, while McCarthy is behind in learning reps. They also claim Sorensby’s judge-approved injunction is controversial due to alleged betting conflicts.
Notable examples
Aiyuk’s speeding/police citation mention; “prove-it deal” after ACL; Murray needing more first-team reps; Sorensby allegedly bet $90,000+ while a team member; Big 12 teams reportedly boycotting Texas Tech games.

3:11Shannon Sharpe:Brandon Ayuk, Ocho Joe, broke his silence on his situation with the 49ers. Here's what he posted on Instagram this morning. We're dealing with, you know, like them kids, and they don't get picked for the basketball game at the court.
3:29Joe Johnson:But they're the ones that brought the ball. So they're like, all right, y 'all don't want to pick me. I'm taking my ball.
3:36Chad Johnson:I'm going home. Ass boys, little ass boys. Or like when your kid, he got this one toy, but he don't really know how to use it correctly. So somebody else about to pick it up and play with it. And they're like, oh, yeah, this shit, lady. And they're like, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on. That's my toy. Ass boy. little ass boy man stop running from the belt the belt coming you scared they scared the truth is they scared they know how i get they're gonna say oh yeah ba ba ba did this ba did that
4:18Joe Johnson:ba did you know that shit allegedly allegedly But what they not going to say is, B.A. suck at football because they know how I get. And they running from that belt that's on the way. It's inevitable. It's coming. Stop running. Stop being a female dog. Stop being a female dog. Stop being a little cat. Stop being a little cat.
4:48Chad Johnson:Stop running from the belt. Hey, hey, hey. They got to give my man some help for real, bro.
4:54Joe Johnson:Hey, you understand what he's saying, huh?
4:57Chad Johnson:Yeah, I totally understand what he's saying, but...
4:59Joe Johnson:I get it. A lot of people are probably not going to get it, huh? You know, I mean, for us, you know, sometimes we say things in riddle format where others really don't understand it. Now, the concept and what it sounds like he's trying to say is obviously, I'm a 49er.
5:14Chad Johnson:Right.
5:15Joe Johnson:And there are other people that might want me.
5:17Chad Johnson:Yeah.
5:17Joe Johnson:Instead of letting me go elsewhere so someone else can have that same toy that the child is playing with, they're like, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. I want to keep him here.
5:27Chad Johnson:Yeah.
5:28Joe Johnson:I want to keep him here. You can tell that part based on the analogy that he did use. I mean, what you think, Joe?
5:35Chad Johnson:I don't think nobody taking a chance on that. Okay, Ocho. Who going to want to deal with that, bro?
5:43Shannon Sharpe:I think somebody will take a chance, Joe. I think the thing is that 49ers want to get some value for him. You know what I'm saying? I mean, what I don't get with him, okay. Joe Ocho, all you got to do is go rehab. How you not go rehab? How you say, you know what, I hate this situation so bad, I'm going to forego this kind of money, Joe Ocho. That's what I don't understand. Okay, you said, hey, now, and everybody knows the 49ers want to move on. Everybody knows he wants to move on. So everybody's trying to suppress the price. I'm not trying to give you what you want for it. I just, I don't. And look, everything, everything he said could be true.
6:27Shannon Sharpe:But guess what? It can be true. And I'm going to get every dime that I'm supposed to get. And if y 'all want to trade me, trade me. But y 'all going to trade me with my pocket.
6:34Chad Johnson:But if you're another team, though, how can you trust? How can you trust his actions, bro? Considering the fact that, you know, he got that money from San Fran. That's what I'm saying. hell, you're going to be scared, man. You're going to be cautious. Like, so you're saying y 'all saying the 49ers want to get some value of him. But hell, who's going to want to deal with that, bro?
6:55Shannon Sharpe:I mean, they... Look, he's too talented. He's young. He's probably what, 27? 27? 27? 28? So he has some talent. He had over a thousand yards. He can play. But look, his time in San Fran is up. and then you know he posted I read that the police is going to issue a citation for him when he posted himself speeding Ocho I say that's why you got to be careful you never post yourself in the commission of a crime because anything that you post that you use that against you you bro if they taking lyrics and using somebody I'm singing a song yeah I smoked that fool over there on 15 and broad somebody get killed on 15 and broad guess who they coming to get Ocho you you you post a video, this is your IG account.
7:45Shannon Sharpe:You driving 100, 110, 115 miles an hour. Man, that was, it's on your account. So let me get this right. Somebody stole your car, hacked into your account, and did this? Boy, they really hate you. So I think that's the thing that he's up against Ocho and Joe. I think the thing is, I think he can still play. I think he has value. But how much value? Ocho, I know you got to get up. Ocho. I know you got to sell something. You move it. Man, I know you don't want to take all this stuff with you. Yeah, it's awesome. You want$500 for this, I'll give you 50. Or pack it up and take it with you.
8:22Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, you know what you also got to understand? He wants out so bad that he was willing to give up that kind of money. And say, you know what, I want to get out of here so bad, I'm going to give you all that back. Just allow for my freedom to go elsewhere. I don't like nothing that bad at all. Listen, Joe, I'm with you when you're right. 26 million? Had his back. I just want to get up out of here. Me too. Guess what? You can still want to leave someone with a bag full of money. Yeah, I've never seen anything like it before. A lot of people, obviously, they won't understand the context unless you've been a part of the business and understand how the business works and understanding that.
9:02Joe Johnson:and he just doing everything he can to be able to get out of there, which is why he was willing to give that money up so he can go somewhere else.
9:09Chad Johnson:So let me...
9:10Joe Johnson:They're going to make sure you get some value for him, though. I know that.
9:13Chad Johnson:So, Ocho, y 'all tell me what team is going to put belief in him thinking, you know, not thinking that he's going to do the same thing to them. Who's going to give him a long-term deal to work? He ain't getting no long-term deal from that after acting like this, bro.
9:26Joe Johnson:You know what? Joe, he might not get a long-term deal, but I think he's going to get a deal. He's going to call it. You're going to come in here and prove it. You got to come here and prove yourself. What we call those, Ocho, the prove-it deal. You're going to get a prove-it deal, especially coming off that ACL. ACL, right, huh? He coming off that ACL.
9:41Shannon Sharpe:But he's two years. Remember, Ocho, he did that two years ago. Last year, he rehabbed.
9:46Joe Johnson:Yeah, so he should be good. Hey, Joe, he can go, Joe.
9:49Chad Johnson:No, no, I know he can go, but at the same time, man, y 'all don't know how injuries, well, y 'all do, but you know how injuries can affect you sometimes, bro, when you can't get out there and compete and play. You know, to me, I understand metaphorically what he was saying. I understood all that. But at the same time, bro, I mean, some of the antics he's been doing, bro. I mean, to have another team take a liking to you, to want to take a chance on you. Come on, bro. Sometimes I'll be wondering what some of these cats be thinking, man.
10:21Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, like I said, I don't get it. I can still. Look, Ocho, I might be looking for another job. How many people are on a job looking for another job? Hey, until that job comes available, I ain't leaving no income. I mean, some people just quit and, hey, quit their job and pack their stuff up and go way over here.
10:44Chad Johnson:Nah.
10:45Shannon Sharpe:I put my faith in the Lord. I put my faith in him too, but I ain't going to be no fool in the process.
10:50Chad Johnson:Look, look, look. We one percenters, bro. Yeah. Like, you ain't, after football, you ain't, I mean, you ain't making this type of money, bro, on a year-to-year basis after football. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah.
Read the full transcript
11:02Shannon Sharpe:They're few and far between. Every once in a while, you'll get a Tom Brady situation. Or you'll get a Tony Romo situation. You'll get a Chris Collins work. But think about what we just said. I ain't naming four people. Hell, there been 25 ,000 men that played in the NFL. You know? Hey, hey. I mean, yeah. You get a situation like Ocho and I and yourself, Joe, we do good. That we don't have to mess with our savings because we have jobs that bring in income and we don't have to touch our savings and hopefully it lasts for a rainy day. But everybody is not like that.
11:34Joe Johnson:Absolutely. You know what the scary part is, Uncle Joe? What's that? That position, there's so many that can do exactly what he does. Yes.
11:45Chad Johnson:There are so many, Joe, that do exactly what he does.
11:48Joe Johnson:and they're younger too. They're younger. Bro.
11:54Shannon Sharpe:And they just had the draft. Yeah. They just had the draft.
11:59Joe Johnson:This game, it will move on without you.
12:01Chad Johnson:Man, it's easy. It's easy for you to get faded out, bro. I'm telling you, man, look. Yeah. I took this with pride and dignity. I'm talking about when I got into the NBA, I want to maximize as much money as I can make. I want to maximize my potential. And it was on a night-to-night basis. I ain't going to lie. I was nervous and scared as I don't know what to get out there and compete against some of the guys I grew up watching, idolizing. But I took that fear, bro, and embraced it. You know what I mean? Like, man, I never thought about, you know, some of the crazy stuff I've seen some of these guys do who are professional athletes, bro.
12:40Chad Johnson:Yep. I just, to mess up my money? Oh, hell no. Wow.
12:45Shannon Sharpe:And my thing is that I knew, or when you're young, you think you're going to play forever. Oh, yeah, I got me a good 15, 20-year career. And then when you wake, I mean, you go to bed one night, you wake up, you're in year five. You close your eyes again, you're in year 10, you're like, damn. It go by so fast. It go by so fast. Professional athletes are not like, unless you're a golfer, you can have an extended career play, you know, minus injuries. But for like a basketball, football player, obviously baseball players can play a little longer because there's not as much wear and tear on the body.
13:24Shannon Sharpe:But you're not finna have no lawyer or no doctor career where you play in 25, 30 years. You're gonna forget that. So where doctors and lawyers might make their money over a long period of time, you make your money in a finite period of time. Make as much money as you can in that 5, 10, 15-year window. If you're fortunate enough to get to 20, have at it. But make as much money as you can. Because the likelihood of when your career is done, of you making that kind of money, everybody ain't going to be no damn Michael Jordan. I'm sorry. I hate to tell you. I hate to bring it to you. You're not going to be LeBron.
13:59Shannon Sharpe:You're not going to be all. Yeah, a lot of these guys, not Joe. They're making so much money now, Ocho. When they play, they ain't worried about nothing. These guys are making$400,$500,$600 million. Even after taxes and you pay everything, you still should have$200 million living. $200 million making 8%. You ain't even touching the principle and you living off$15,$20 million a year. That's if you spend.
14:23Chad Johnson:Yeah.
14:25Shannon Sharpe:So it's different now than when, Ocho, when you and I played, man. Man, I remember getting them, you know, every, we got paid, what do we got paid? Every two weeks and getting a check for $5 ,500. Yeah.
14:46Shannon Sharpe:That's all you... What? I ain't never seen$5 ,500. I ain't never seen$1 ,000 at one time. Well, once I got... My brother would send me if I did something really good. But to have... I remember I got my first check, Joe, don't you? That thing said$5 ,511. But I went to the bank and cashed the whole check. I gotta bring this home and put this on the... Hey, that lady tell me, Mr. Sharp, would you like to open a cap? Nah, I'd like you to open that door and give me$5 ,511. That's what I'd like for you to do. Don't ask me no question, lady. And don't call nobody and say, Shanna Sharp just took out $5 ,500.
15:19Shannon Sharpe:Because I got to go home and I got to see this$5 ,500 laid out on the face.
15:25Joe Johnson:I remember them days, boy. Man. Like the meat potatoes of your career, Joe. seeing that check every Monday you know direct deposit but just going up there getting that check and seeing that $300 ,000,$350 ,000 every Monday Joe
15:45Shannon Sharpe:Joe I used to go get my check they like well you know what Joe you know I only got direct deposit in the last two years for real? Fox told me they would not send me my check I would have to get a direct deposit prior to that everybody sent me my check
16:03Chad Johnson:damn
16:04Shannon Sharpe:I gotta see it I gotta see it I gotta see it hey Alex our financial guy used to name me Alex I need to get in there hey Shatter how you doing I do a lot better when you're having that check
16:21Chad Johnson:you see the big numbers 700 800k
16:27Joe Johnson:hey Joe you know what's gonna be so funny you know Monday we go in there everybody go up there get their checks they be down in the locker room and compare compare hold that thing up to the light it used to be so so funny man and them boys be down there and violent
16:48Shannon Sharpe:I like to see I just like to hold my money sometimes I messed up the Broncos payroll they sent me a check I deferred In 99, I deferred a large part of my money. And they sent me, but I had forgot I deferred it on Joe and Joe. So when they sent it to me, I was thinking, okay, it's a little sub, you know, maybe a little$5 ,000. I had to think, I sent it in the drawer. They called me like a month later. They're like, Shannon, we sent you a check. I said, yeah, yeah, I got it. I got it. They's like, is something wrong? I was like, no, it's in the drawer. they're like, we're going to cut you another.
17:30Shannon Sharpe:Just tear that one up. We're going to cut you another one. How much was it?
17:37Shannon Sharpe:I think almost$2 million. Joe, I didn't, Joe, it didn't dawn on me. I forgot that my agent and I said we were going to defer the money. So I'm just, you know, I think it's a regular check. I'm not, you know what it was? I just thought it was like, thought it was like$50 ,000. I ain't in no rush to cash no$50 ,000 check. But it was like, and I was like, they was like, Shannon, we're going to reissue you a check because they had messed up. Because they're looking like, hold on. Why is almost$2 million still outstanding from the account? And they was like, damn. They called me. It was right in the drawers on my bedside table.
18:23Shannon Sharpe:Hadn't even opened anything.
18:25Chad Johnson:Mm-mm-mm.
18:27Shannon Sharpe:but I I cashed they told me they told me to go cash it but yeah no no no until 2016 I didn't have direct deposit no no you just send me CBS send me send me my check I need to get that Broncos give me my check the Ravens let me get that
18:44Joe Johnson:but I tell you one thing boy that man upstairs been good Joe and I oh man not good great he's been great because To go from what it used to be when I was playing and to fall off that mountain, to climb my ass and work my ass off to get back to that mountain.
19:07Chad Johnson:Hello.
19:08Joe Johnson:And now I got my 50 to 11 jobs and now them checks looking the exact same way they used to damn near 15 years ago. Hey, hey.
19:18Chad Johnson:He may not come when you want him to, but he always on time.
19:21Shannon Sharpe:Always on time. But listen. It is. But you know what, Joe? I think the thing is for me is that I appreciate it because I remember working for$5 a day. I remember working for$12 a day. I remember working for$16 a day. I remember catching 1 ,000 chickens for$1 ,000. After working in the fields and making$5 a day. And my uncle blowing the horn and me and my brother going out there because our crew was mainly our cousins. Me, Spanky, Lanny, Eugene, Arnell, Robbie, Bernard sometimes. It was about eight of us. But the oldest one, we were all, for the most part, Arnell was the oldest because he a year younger than my sister.
20:06Shannon Sharpe:He was the oldest. We had like two dudes within their 20s. But most of us were teenagers. Making$1 ,000 ,000, and the most we would catch because we were young, small crew with 16 ,000. So that's$16 plus the$8 or the$12 that I made. So now that's$28, $28 back in the seventies. I don't know if y 'all notice, I don't want to break it to you was a lot of damn money.
20:32Chad Johnson:Yeah.
20:34Shannon Sharpe:$28 was a lot of damn money. And to go from making$28 to a thousand dollars a day or 5 ,000 or 10. if you can't appreciate that that's why I appreciate everything I get damn you holding everything you damn right I still got the fax machine I still got all that I don't let nothing go absolutely not because I worked too hard and I know how hard it was to get it and I appreciate it
21:05Chad Johnson:yeah hey that's where you and your brother get that damn get up and get out from chasing them damn chicken
21:12Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yes. No, but no, no, no, no, no. We got to get out for catching pigs. No, because the chickens are in the chicken house. Well, I don't know. You're in Arkansas. Purdue, I think. But where is Purdue at? Is Purdue in Arkansas? The chicken? But if you're in the state of Georgia, if you eat the Claxton porch, you're playing. Anybody that's passed through a 301 and passed right through there on the right-hand side, if you're coming down and headed towards Glenville and south, or if you're going back the other way, it's on the right-hand side. Left if you're coming down, right if you're going back.
21:44Shannon Sharpe:There's a plate called Clackett Portrait Plant. That's who we worked for. That was the chicken thing. So the chickens came and you worked from Sunday through Thursday. You didn't work on Fridays and Saturday because the plant was closed. Saturday and Sunday. So the last load we got Thursday, so they processed that on Friday. So you was off Saturday and Sunday, and then Sunday, they brought the load back in right there for the Monday morning. So you got deboners, you got, you know, plunkers and things like that. But it made us appreciate working those long, long hours. And people like now when we, you know, we went 14 straight days.
22:22Shannon Sharpe:We did 27 days of 31 in May. That's what y 'all did. Now me, I taped seven episodes of Club Station. So now I did 34 shows in 31 days. Damn. plus the other stuff I had to do for LaPortier. So for me, hard work, it don't bother me. Because the way I look at it, you know how I look at it, guys? I worked that hard for the Broncos, for the Ravens, for Fox, for CBS, ESPN. You mean to tell me I can't work that hard for my damn self? Hello. What's wrong with that bitch? I wish you were right, you know. Hell nah. And plus, like, you know, I had all the kids. I had all my kids last night. We went to dinner.
23:09Shannon Sharpe:And it's a rarity that I all get them all together. Obviously, my youngest daughter, she's finishing up residency, and Key is married, and so, you know, try to get the kids. And my daughter-in-law here, and Kayla doing her own thing. But I got the kids together. And I looked around, and I'm like, damn, I got all my babies in one spot. 24:01Shannon Sharpe:Sit around and do what? Ocho and Joe, I've been home. I've been home since Tuesday. My TV has been on twice. That's to watch the Spurs game. And I'm like,
24:20Shannon Sharpe:it really dawned on me today. I was like, if I don't talk to Bucket, if I don't talk to Burns, I'm like, this dude called me today. Hey, I'll be there later. 26:02Shannon Sharpe:I could have, guess what? Me and my two co-hosts, we're going to have a week off where we all off together. Wait, when is that?

27:19Joe Johnson:Hey, hey, hey, Joe. Hey, Joe, I just want to pull up my style. Yeah, yeah, we're going to be all right. We're going to be all right. I want to be outside the window. Yeah, y 'all see me and Joe, bitch. And Toast is going to open up to 9 a.m., man.

27:42Shannon Sharpe:Okay, hey. I'll catch y 'all next time around. I'll give you another 40 minutes to sleep.

28:14Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, Delta, hey. Yeah, I know how Delta costs. I know, too. What? Y 'all tripping.
28:24Shannon Sharpe:I'm thinking about catching this up in my mouth
28:28Chad Johnson:I'm looking for a reason to go to Vegas
28:33Shannon Sharpe:what you try to go to Vegas I gotta go
28:37Chad Johnson:across town see a man by the horse hello okay you try to get on the table Joe oh man I mean if y 'all want to go do something We can do a little something now. We can, you know, play a little blackjack, throw some crap. Hey, first of all, Ocho ain't going to do nothing.
28:56Joe Johnson:Joe, I don't gamble. He want to go to the$5 table where the table's crowded. I paid it. Hey, Joe, I get$200 out the ATM, and I play the$25 table blackjack. No, we got to play at least$100 a hand, Ocho. That ain't happening. Not over here. No, sir. No, sir. Damn. No, sir. $25 table, boy. Once my$200 run out, I'll watch y 'all play. Damn. Man, that ain't going to be long.
29:25Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you get a bad, hey, Joe, he get a bad shoot. That's over.
29:28Joe Johnson:Hey, the last time, the last time when we went to watch the Canelo Bud fight at my hotel, Joe, I paid the$25 tables.
29:36Chad Johnson:Yeah.
29:36Joe Johnson:I walked away with$700. Oh, really? Yeah, I walked away with$700. I know when to get up out of there. How many people is at your table? Three. Do you know them? Nah, they were helping me, though.
29:49Chad Johnson:Oh, okay.
29:51Joe Johnson:Okay. I don't know how to play blackjack that good. I know I got to be the dealer, but the people next to me will help me.
29:55Shannon Sharpe:All right. No, see, I don't lack all the talking. You be locked in. Yeah, yeah. They be going to talk. Hey, aren't you? Which one of you? Don't you play? Man, look here, bro. These cars don't care nothing about that.
30:12Chad Johnson:You trying to win this little money.
30:14Shannon Sharpe:They trying to hold a damn conversation. Yeah, you're okay. I don't have a conversation, man. Hey, get back from the table. Hey, you're talking.

34:15here we go and another thing you want to know why they really mad though they mad because they stupid they dumb they mad that they paid me 50 million in eight months and then voided my guarantees for 2027.
34:38Joe Johnson:And I'm about to be on a new team in 2027. They mad at they sales for real. Niggas acting like they mad at me,
34:46Chad Johnson:but they stupid ass mad at they sell. And y 'all talking about somebody, man, come on.
34:53Shannon Sharpe:Joe, Ocho, Ocho, they didn't board him. You did. All you had to do was show up in real. He didn't want to be there. He didn't want to be there. Okay, but don't, okay, you don't want to be there? Don't say they voided him. You voided that contract.
35:10Joe Johnson:Based on what he's saying in general, that's why he's calling him stupid, you know? But, I mean, listen, I don't condone his behavior. Uncle Joe, you know that. I was one who was always, you know, for being himself, you know, but within the game, you know, within being a team player, I'm not sure what's wrong with B right now, but you do have to understand is they will always have the upper hand. You know, you've only played with them so long. Your opportunity, your window of opportunity to be able to play this game you love, this game that you've always wanted to play as a kid growing up, your childhood dream, you're playing with it.
35:49Joe Johnson:You're playing with it. It goes by very fast. It goes by very fast. And there are too many receivers coming in every year that are good, that can do exactly what you're doing despite what you put on film. We know you can play, boy. You're the real deal. But it's too many that are coming back to back that they can put in positions to make those same plays, to make those same catches. So you got to be careful, man. They will weed your ass out of here.
36:20Shannon Sharpe:Man, listen. You don't get it. This one's young. You're going to play forever. Brandon, you're not as good as they be.
36:28Joe Johnson:You're not. That's a different tier. That's the cream of the crop when we talk about receivers.
36:34Shannon Sharpe:And they said what? And what did they say? Enough is enough.
36:39Chad Johnson:Ain't no team tolerating that, bro. I'm sorry. Because if we get him on our team and then he start acting like that, like, man, ain't nobody finna deal with that, bro.
36:50Shannon Sharpe:If they do, he's going to be on approval.
36:52Joe Johnson:I mean, wherever he goes, he's going to be on approval here. He'll be two years removed from ACL. but Joe, but when he on that field oh he can go now yeah he can go
37:05Chad Johnson:you talking about the previous IU you talking about IU from two years ago
37:10Joe Johnson:what he gonna look like right now
37:14Shannon Sharpe:I love how he said they dumb but you was all in your feelings when they hadn't signed you when you had the franchise tag but now they give you the money now they dumb you see
37:32Chad Johnson:that's why they have a problem giving us our money man yeah it is because we're the we're
37:37Shannon Sharpe:the one group that if one of us act up they put it on everybody yeah oh and you know what they they're gonna make us wait baby ocho man oh y 'all remember how ocho acted back in 2002 what they got to do with this man try to get money in 2026 if you think about it we're the only group that if somebody misbehaves they make it as a reflection they pay everybody
38:03Joe Johnson:oh they gonna make us wait anyway regardless hey Joe we got to fight tootin' there for what we want when it comes to receivers time to get paid oh my it don't matter who you are oh they gonna I was like hold on
38:23Shannon Sharpe:They don't, oh, somebody, what about Chicago? Some black guy, what about Chicago? See, I told you, that's like in Chicago.
38:30Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
38:33Shannon Sharpe:Somebody from the Asian community does something, they don't paint all Asians like that. Somebody from the white community do something, they don't paint all white people like that. Somebody from the Hispanic community, they don't paint all Hispanics like that. But let one of us do something. I told you they're aggressive, they're violent.
38:50Chad Johnson:Y 'all know why, man. We the culture, bro.
38:54Shannon Sharpe:We are the culture. I just hate that. And that's what I try to do. That's what I really, I try to like, when I talk to people, I'm like, bro, this is not just about you. If it was just about you and they were going to judge you just on you, but unfortunately, your complexion is reflective of a lot of complexions under this prism. Yeah. And that's how we get judged. And look, it's not right. It's not right. It's not. But you know what, guys? Until we get more people that are in position of power that can do something about it, until we get about 55 or 60 guys that's worth 100 plus billion. Right.
39:35Shannon Sharpe:You understand. You try to, you know, do what you do and just keep it moving. Yeah. That's it. That's all we can do, Joe. That's all we can do, Ocho. Yeah. and uh i i just i just wish because they just now he said they dump somebody that's gonna be hard get to get money and you see that's why they put that's why they like to put the tag on you see joe oh joe joe this is why they put the tag on you yeah now just imagine had they had they put the tag on him he goes out there and have this injury ain't no 50 million
40:18Chad Johnson:nah he ain't you know he if he got that tag on him he ain't gonna act like this this one this one no but see
40:26Shannon Sharpe:see they had the tag and what they did is that they they found they got a long term deal done had he had the tag on him and he went out there and played and did this now all he got is that one year that's guaranteed right and now the likelihood of him you know getting that big time money he gonna have to really prove it yeah Yeah.
40:46Chad Johnson:Yeah. I don't know.
40:48Shannon Sharpe:But now he got 50 million in his back pocket minus the taxes and fees.
40:53Chad Johnson:He straight? Yeah, he might be straight because he probably going to be back on here the next couple days. Just keep it 100. He probably going to be back on the next couple days and I think he going to be digging a deeper hole for himself if he trying to get on another team.
41:07Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, them folk don't play, boy. They will make an example out of you, man. I know this one. They will show you that we don't need you. It's too many. It's too many good receivers coming in back to about every year.
41:23Shannon Sharpe:See, the difference between them and us, if I got a beef with Joe, even if it means doing great business, I ain't messing with Joe. Yeah. They might not like each other. But if it means doing business and making money or putting up a barrier so nobody misbehaved, guess what they gonna do?
41:50Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all already know. Yeah. If y 'all think all 32 of these owners get along, what's the likelihood of 32 people getting along? We gonna make money and we gonna be unified. Keep the main thing the main thing. I just wish we could be like that.
42:16Shannon Sharpe:It's money to be made. Nah, I don't rock with you, so I can't make no... But please. They don't move like that. You hear me?
42:23Joe Johnson:The bottom line will always be the bottom line.
42:25Shannon Sharpe:But they know that, though, Ocho. They know we ain't gonna pull together. That's why they don't ever worry. It's too busy. That's why they don't ever worry, Joe. They ain't worried. Man, you think they gonna pull together? Hey, it's too many of us.
42:39Joe Johnson:Sit down. It's too many of us, Joe, for us all to put together.
42:50Shannon Sharpe:Hey, because guess what, Ocho? Somebody got to be the H-N-I-G. H-N-I-C, excuse me. Yeah. Because so it ain't, look here, we equal. Nah, but you know, I want the title. Before you know it, hey, we all partners, and I done snuck CEO my card. Hey.
43:12Joe Johnson:Hey. You know what? And also, Joe, the HNIC, it has to be the quarterback. The quarterback. The quarterback will have to lead it. And they not flipping.
43:25Shannon Sharpe:They did. You don't remember this, Ocho, but the quarterback had an own club separate from the NFLPA. When was this? Yeah, I see. We're here, though. Yeah, Ocho. And guess what? And then they ended up signing a lot of the big-time players. They took guys like Emmitt and Brute. Some of the bigger-name players, they ended up taking them. And guess what? They ended up selling the quarterback club back to the NFL. I ain't going to say that. Let me go because, Ocho, I don't want to mess up our opportunities to be able to get stuff. So I will keep my mouth shut. But I just know a lot more behind the workings of what transpired than the common person does.
44:05Shannon Sharpe:But you know what? just so we can get, I'm trying to get, we try to get back in good graces. We want to go to the Super Bowl. We want to go to the draft. We want to do stuff like that, Joe. So you know what? Let me keep... Copenhagen's spit-free packs American-grown tobacco into pouches made for when your elbow's deep in an engine block. 47:19Shannon Sharpe:Keep my mind shut. Kyler Murray spoke about the toughest part of adjusting to Minnesota's offense. Let's take a listen, Chad. The toughest part, as far as the blackout, what you get to start to do, I think the toughest part is, again, I was there for seven years. I know I had two different offensive systems, but at the same time, you're getting all those reps. Now having to split reps, it's me already being behind, not getting the amount of reps that, you know, you would typically want a guy to get learning an offense. That's probably the toughest part. You know, just, again, going back to the past, being in control of everything, understanding what we were already doing because I was comfortable within the system.
47:56Now coming into the new system, learning on the fly, trying to play fast, efficient, and then let it loose while learning. And it's pretty, you know, that's the toughest part.
48:07Joe Johnson:It makes sense. Make total sense. Especially having, you know, the split reps with someone that you're already going to beat out, and I mean no disrespect to Brother McCarthy, but he's going to beat you out. And I wish the head coach ahead of time, I know you don't want to do it, especially this early. You want to make it a quarterback competition, but you already know who you're going to choose when the time comes, Joe, when the season starts. You know you're going with Kyler Murray. That's why you brought him there. We've seen a small sample of J.J. McCarthy already, and we know he's not going to be the quarterback for the foreseeable future, at least not for right now.
48:40Joe Johnson:Kyler Murray needs to be getting all those reps with the ones right now, so he's comfortable and he can feel the way he felt when he was in Arizona. He felt like he was under control. He knew everything. He knew where everybody was going to be. Any calls that need to be made or adjustments that need to be made, he knew exactly what to do. And to me, all this is doing is slowing down his process to getting to that point of comfortability.
49:04Chad Johnson:Yep.
49:04Shannon Sharpe:Progress to get to where it needs to be. Absolutely right, Joe.
49:08Chad Johnson:As a professional, you're going to be in uncomfortable situations at times and you have to be able to adapt. This is our profession. This is what you chose to do. This is part of it, bro. It ain't a bad thing that he's uncomfortable. But J.J. McCarthy was a starter last year, which y 'all don't want him to get no reps? No.
49:30Shannon Sharpe:Because guess what? If J.J. was doing what he's supposed to be, there would be no Cal Murray. Hey! Come on. Hey, that'll be like... Guess what? They didn't bring no two guards when you was in Atlanta. Guess why? Because ISO was doing what ISO's supposed to be. When they start bringing in people that play your position, what they trying to tell you, ISO?
49:49Chad Johnson:Yeah, they trying. I get that. Especially the quarterback position. I understand that part. But listen. Hey, we don't know if he going, as Minnesota probably thinking, hell, we don't know if he going to hold up the whole season. Hell, we can't just throw our last year starter and don't give him no reps. He got to give him.
50:03Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, we let him get some reps. Get your reps on the practice squad. Or what you call them on the scout team. At least go with the tools now.
50:11Chad Johnson:And listen, hold on, hold on. And then again, yeah, we want you to be the starter, but damn, you got to come in and prove it a little bit.
50:18Shannon Sharpe:I mean, come on. Yeah, you're right. I get what you're saying, Joe, but you have to understand, Joe, he's already behind. See, JJ already knows the offense. This is his second year in the offense. Kyle's like, I'm fresh. I'm trying to learn on the fly. And I can't get enough reps consistency because normally the starter takes eight reps. He probably going three most. Then what you got to get three? Then he go two, then he go two. Bro, I need about six, seven reps before I feel comfortable. Straight. Justin Jefferson praised, Kyle said. He understands the game. He understands the defenses. He understands just how to put touch on the ball, just enough to where it gets to where it's got to go without making it difficult for us.
51:04Shannon Sharpe:So he understands the game a lot more just because he's been in the game for a couple of years now. So he kind of throws the ball before you even get out of your break. He throws you to the open for sure. He's a smart guy, and he's a competitor just like me.
51:18Joe Johnson:He got to be down. He has to be able to do those things, Joe, because he's so small. Understanding, knowing how to throw through lane, throw through hands, anticipate throws, throwing people open, letting balls go. Pause, the way I said that. letting the balls go ahead of time before receivers get out their breaks because he's not as tall as most quarterbacks. He's mobile. He's a dual threat. And he can throw the ball. That wasn't the issue. That wasn't the problem. He can run the ball. That wasn't the issue either. That's the only problem. He couldn't stay healthy, Joe.
51:52Shannon Sharpe:That's it. He's a small guy. Bro, Ocho, people don't realize this is a damn physical game. It's a big... Kyler Murray is a very average-sized man. Yeah, average. Playing a Giants game.
52:10Chad Johnson:Yeah.
52:10Shannon Sharpe:I don't even think he's average, huh? Well, you see how small Kyler is?
52:13Joe Johnson:Yeah, he like 5 '9", 5 '2". The boy got some wheels on him. Oh, boy. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Joe, hey, when he run, just remind me of like a little bad kid. Like a little... Hey, little feet be moving.
52:27Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, but... No, no, no, no, no. He can run. He could absolutely run. Yeah, but to get that vouch from Justin Jefferson, bro, I know for Kyler Murray, that's going to weigh heavy for him going into, obviously, the season. You know what I mean? Obviously, we know he's going to be the starter, but I think getting high praise from your number one target, bro, that says a lot.
52:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Guess who ain't getting no praise?
52:54Chad Johnson:Who?
52:55Shannon Sharpe:The guy that couldn't throw people open. The guy that couldn't throw people open.
53:03Shannon Sharpe:Man, this story breaks my damn heart. I don't know what he's thinking. Texas Tech quarterback Brandon Sorensby has reportedly been granted an injunction he requested by a judge at the District Court of Lubbock. Okay, there you have your answer. Sorensby is not expected to be eligible for the 2020 college football season and will not have the NFL supplemental draft. The judge reasoning granted Sorensby injunction. the courts find that Sorensby will suffer a probable and imminent and irreparable injury without the injunction because he'll be unable to participate as a member of Texas Tech University 2026 football team.
53:42Shannon Sharpe:And according to Rob Reiner, the majority of the Big 12 teams are boycotting the games against Texas Tech next season due to Brandon Sorensby ruling. I'm told multiple board members have also motioned to eject the Red Raiders from the league. Only current holdouts are BYU. The athletic officials from Nebraska, Georgia sent department-wide memos today instructing their coaches and sports deputies not to schedule Texas Tech. If games are already scheduled, the school may work to cancel the matchup. All four justices on the Seventh Court of Appeals in Texas, guess where they graduated from? Texas Tech.
54:25Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. Don't nobody want to recuse themselves? Don't nobody say, you know what? The look of this, if we were to grant this day. Yeah. Can you imagine what this is going to look like? So nobody thought anything. Nobody said, you know what? You know what? Oh, Joe, Joe, I'm just going to recuse myself. The man admitted that he betted on games in which he was a member of the team when he was on that team. and he said, I wagered at least$90 ,000. If the reports are true, reading what I read, Chad, and if y 'all read it, you read it. He bet, you know, $90 ,000 when he was the quarterback. Not one time, but over bets, multiple thousands of bets.
55:17Shannon Sharpe:Damn. He admitted it while he was participating. And y 'all say, you know what? He going to suffer irreparable harm. what have you done hey so teams
55:32Joe Johnson:that have Texas Tech on the schedule they're declining we ain't effort with y 'all
55:38Shannon Sharpe:we ain't effort with y 'all
55:40Joe Johnson:would they really do that you think of
55:42Shannon Sharpe:yes I mean Joe how I mean how do you who thinks this is justice all three all four of these judges graduated undergrad at Texas Tech. Right. They're hearing a case involving a current student, athlete at Texas Tech. And you don't think that there's an impropriety? You don't think there's a bias? You see, remember I told you? Yeah. When everybody's ever been to a courthouse, you look at, what does Lady Justice, she got a scale, but she's blindfolded. But they say sometimes when you walk up there peeking to see who is actually walking up in steps.
56:31Joe Johnson:Hey, listen, I'm with you when you're right, but I also have a question. Is Young Bull really that good? Is he that good?
56:40Chad Johnson:Is this the kid that, was he at Cincinnati at first?
56:44Shannon Sharpe:I think he was at Cincinnati. I think he was at Indiana. He's a lot of different schools. I think he's been a couple of places. Why do you keep bouncing around like that, huh? Hey, they find out he bet and he got to go somewhere else to play another bet. You can't keep going.
57:00Chad Johnson:Hey, Chad, is he good, Chad? They probably, man, he probably can make a nice little piece of change in college, you know, by staying in college. Yeah, for sure. For sure, absolutely. Absolutely, yeah. But for them to grant him to be able to play after he admitted to that, yeah, man.
57:18Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. That's how, bro. But in a situation like that, he throws a pick and they lose the game, a close game, how do you convince the people in the stands, how do you convince the people that's watching that he didn't do that on purpose? See, once I cast doubt, I've got to believe what I see is on the up and up, Ojo. I've got to believe what I'm seeing is on the up and up. If it's not on the up and up, what do we got here? Tell me what we got, Chad. Right.
57:53Chad Johnson:Damn. Man, hey, listen. Look, but why y 'all talking for real? I heard that, you know, they caught a lot of student athletes this past season, football and basketball, as far as, like, guys point shaving and things of that sort. Yeah. This is big, man. This is huge. Like, these people ain't been, hey, there's been some cats out here throwing games, man. Hey.
58:17Joe Johnson:Yes. Hey, they trying. Hey, Joe, I don't understand. why they doing it? You already making good money and you trying to double up on your money? I mean, for what? It's not even worth it.
58:28Shannon Sharpe:You know what, Ocho? I don't know what an individual's situation is, so I don't want to say but me, I mean to know my teammates and to know the type of work that we put in and to go out there and deliberately drop a pass or deliberately go out there and do something that ain't going to rest That ain't going to sleep well.
58:50Chad Johnson:That ain't going to... As hard as we worked... As hard as I worked in college, bro, as hard as I know my teammates worked, boy, we going to jump your ass. We fine as you don't. We going to whoop your ass. I'm serious. Boy, we worked too hard for that. Man, man, run us a-deafing now. Man, please. What?
59:11Shannon Sharpe:Wow. Oh, the Lubbock Bar Association, Texas Bar Association. He's talking about he's going to suffer irreparable harm. He should. Yeah. He should.
59:28Shannon Sharpe:You got... Without consequences, what lessons can be learned, Ochoa? None.
59:36Joe Johnson:None at all. And listen, you got to make it happen to somebody. You got to.
59:43Shannon Sharpe:That's the whole point. In order for someone to learn a lesson, they had to have suffered some level of consequence. He suffered nothing. He gets a play. Even after admitting that he bet almost$90 ,000. If the reports of what I've read is true, that's what he said. Allegedly, he said that. And then, hold on, let me make sure I...
1:00:13Shannon Sharpe:The court find that Sorsby would suffer a probable, imminent, and irreparable injury without the injunction because he would be unable to participate as a member of Texas Tech University's 2026 football team. He should suffer imminent and irreparable injury because of what he did. Yeah. Yeah.
1:00:38Chad Johnson:I'm with you, bro.
1:00:41Joe Johnson:Think the team going to let him back, Unc? Especially with all that? Yeah!
1:00:45Chad Johnson:Come on, man. You think, hold up. So you think if people raise enough hell, they going to still keep him on the team? I do believe it.
1:00:57Joe Johnson:I don't know. Unless he's the next Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen.
1:01:03Shannon Sharpe:Man, man, the better folk. Ocho, Ocho, why you fake Texas Tech? Who put the money up for the pill to be heard? Oh.
1:01:13Joe Johnson:Hey, Texas Tech got that bag too over there.
1:01:16Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, they got that money down there.
1:01:17Chad Johnson:Come on, man. Damn. They don't make it right here because they got the money. They don't make it right.
1:01:23Joe Johnson:Oh, no, it definitely ain't right. Oh, hell, absolutely not.
1:01:30Shannon Sharpe:Sorensby acknowledged he had wagered at least$90 ,000 on pro and college sports over the past four years, including 40 bets on Indiana football while he was a freshman with the Hoosiers in 2022. Again, Chad, he acknowledged that he wagered at least$90 ,000 on pro and college sports over the past four years, including 40 bets on Indiana football while he was a freshman on the Indiana Hoosiers team in 2022.
1:02:08Chad Johnson:Come on, man. Hey, hold on.
1:02:10Joe Johnson:Hey, that ain't number three, Joe.
1:02:12Chad Johnson:Didn't they just take, I know it's two different sports and Terry Rozier is an NBA player. They took all his money. Yeah, my whole 26 M's. Yeah, arbitrator rule. It's probably going to be hard as hell for him to get back in the NBA. Yeah.
1:02:28Shannon Sharpe:And you mean, come on, man. Joe, Joe, Joe, but you got to help me understand, Joe. you making 28 I can't I can't I can't help you understand now Ocho okay well help me out Ocho you making 28 million yes sir and you potentially allegedly what's being reported is that you took a hundred thousand dollars hey um so how you how you how you drop how you jump over a stack of money to pick a dime up can I tell you something yes that ain't nothing but being in it with the wrong crowd and the wrong people you right Joe and you ain't
1:03:02Joe Johnson:got no choice. You hear me? Are you picking up with that? Yeah. Yes.
1:03:06Chad Johnson:Come on now. No, bro. I still, I can't even fathom that, man. I'm sorry.
1:03:12Shannon Sharpe:I wouldn't even be with that crowd. I don't, I would, look, Ocho, you know when we play, hey man, who you think gonna win? Who you think? Bro, I don't wager. Because you go pick these games and you get pitched, the first name you're gonna say, man, Shanna Sharp told me such and such. they don't care nothing about you they want a big fish how many times you see somebody have a perch have a crappie, have a bluegill have a red breast held up now, how many times you see them have a largemouth bass or a tuna or a stripe they want the trophy you ain't no trophy Ocho, Joe, Unk we the trophies they want to try our ass out there make an example out of us But hell, how you admit that you gaveled on pro in college?
1:04:03Shannon Sharpe:You played sporty best when you were a freshman, and they're going to talk about you a fuck sufferer. What about the irreparable harm that you've done? What about the imminent harm that you've done? Yeah.
1:04:16Chad Johnson:Yeah, man. I don't know how they can continue. I don't know how he can keep playing, bro, behind this.
1:04:25Chad Johnson:Damn.
1:04:26Shannon Sharpe:He better declare for the draft. that's what but the problem was it was too late so he had to enter the supplemental draft now I can't remember last player that's gone into supplemental draft the supplemental draft used to be a thing yeah Bobby Humphrey went in supplemental draft Steve Walsh went in the supplemental draft there have been guys that's gone in the supplemental draft but I'm sorry this is
