In short

This episode is a “Best of NFL News Part 1” roundup plus off-topic sports/culture talk. Topic 1: Mike Vrabel “NO HEAT” rumors. The hosts discuss a reported cheating/morals story involving Vrabel, claiming he denied involvement but older photos allegedly surfaced; they argue technology/social media make these stories easier to expose, and that public visibility of spouses affects assumptions.

Notable examples

references to “Shannon/Sharons” as subordinates vs Vrabel; mention of casino/bar sightings and phone logs/pictures.

Topic 2

Browns QB1 debate: Deshaun Watson vs Shedeur “Shadour.” Key claim: Mary Kay Cabot reports Watson has an early lead; the hosts argue Cleveland paid Watson heavily ($46M salary) so he’ll start if healthy, with Shedeur as the future option if Watson struggles.

Notable examples

discussion of Watson’s injury history (shoulder/Achilles) and the idea Cleveland won’t re-invest another $150–$200M if he succeeds.

Guests

No named guests appear; it’s a host panel (Ocho, Uncle Joe, and others) with no guest bios.

3:47Shannon Sharpe:He can't ask. Listen, it's not the first, right? It's not the first and it won't be the last. It happens all the time. What happened is people are looking at it and they say, well, Shannon, what about Sharon Moore in Michigan? What about Imay in Boston? I say, guys, those are subordinates. miss russini is not an employee of the patriots mike vrabel is not a is a not a an employee of the athletic yeah in that situation is different so i get it it's morally wrong it both are married they're gonna have to deal with that with their spouses but now hey maybe it gets so hot that Mr. Crabb doesn't have a choice but if the reports are true he tried to catch and kill the story so he knew about it before the world knew about it well the thing about there were pictures he said that I wasn't involved with this woman but then they went back and found pictures about six or seven years ago and he was kissing this woman at the bar so I mean And I'm not saying, you know, I'm definitely not saying he should be fired or anything like that.

5:14But our society right now is really kind of different. When we talk about stepping on toes and all this stuff. And he told the story saying, well, you know, you guys are crazy if you think it was a story. Well, you can't say that kind of stuff if it was a story.

5:32Shannon Sharpe:But see, here's the thing. because of your coach and your wife is really not visible, if they were out in public, you would think, okay, he's married, she's married. That's the couple. You don't know Mike Brable. You people probably have never seen his wife. Now, the likelihood, guess what? They're in different locations. They're not in New York. They're not in New England. So ain't nobody for the wiser. Ain't nobody know. Well, we know. Well, we know now. How about this? We know that. Yeah, they do that. You know now. If you got a wife and nobody has ever seen her and you're out with somebody else, people are going to naturally assume that's his wife.

6:15Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. And so now, guess what? We get this out. You know what? I saw them in the casino one time. I saw them in a bar. As a matter of fact, let me go through my phone log. Let me see a default. See? I got a picture of them too. You know what? And another part, I think maybe because I've been, well, Joe, I mean, Brad, you as well, Unc, we've been in a lifestyle so much where we've seen so many, so many situations, so many cases, even some that weren't made public or we know about it behind closed doors, but we've seen situations like this so much, like so often over the years, it's like to others, you know the regular folk are like oh my god look what's going on this needs to be talked about and I'm thinking back to myself it's normal in that world y 'all going crazy and to me I have to reset and I have to think okay you know what they're not used to this they're not used to seeing this and they use the words what about morals and integrity I'm like oh my goodness I just wish you were part of this world for just a year you know and i mean like it's different and i think it's hard for for people on the outside that aren't in that lifestyle i don't live in that world to where it's like it's i'm almost numb to it because i see it all the time all the time that's like i mean i got in trouble for cursing at somebody about like why did y 'all talk about this on on nightcap why this is a huge story and i'm like like what the fuck no it's not this shit happens all the time I had to remember like go ahead Ocho finish I had to reset and remember like okay everybody doesn't live in that world to kind of understand it so like I get it now in a sense and the thing is Brad you know when you was in the league and when I got into the league reporters would see things and it never got out hey

8:29I just saw your wife Because the reporters were hanging with you And they were doing some of the same things You were doing They tried to get you to get them a straggler But Ocho can say Ocho can say right now That yeah he's numb to it But our world has changed From when we were in the league At one time it's not like it was when we were all in the league even joe who's been more recently than us the the fact that the world has changed so much the nba the standards all the stuff around it it's easier now to get women and all those things that happen but at the same time you a lot more aren't you joe this situation it's a it's easier for your ass to get caught too with

9:21Shannon Sharpe:all these phones. This right here? Yeah. This was the greatest invention, but the worst invention. At the same time. With more relationships. Right. Hold on. A phone and an email. And this is the funny thing about it too, Unc. You think about technology, right? And how far advanced we've come with cameras everywhere and camera phones and everybody having to phone out is all the things that are happening today, they've been going on for years. They were happening before we were here. They were happy when my grandma was here. It's just the fact that everything is magnified now because of technology, because of social media.

9:58So nothing is new in just being brought to light at a much more higher rate. That's it.

10:05Shannon Sharpe:Everything changed. I remember Joe Johnson said something to me, and I love this. Yeah, Joe, I'm stepping on your toes a little bit. I remember when you got to Brooklyn and I saw you at the game one time. He's like, man, I ain't never see so many damn pretty women in my life in damn New York City. I said, you in Atlanta. Joe said, man, he said, New York City is on a whole nother level. And you are playing with damn Brooklyn. You are playing with damn the Knicks. Hey, man, New York different, bro. I was telling Ocho that. But, you know, I think it's just because we have access to so much. and we've seen so much you know the good, the bad, the ugly that nothing really surprises us bro.

10:55Shannon Sharpe:It's hard to throw a fastball at me and I'm like bro I done seen this movie before. You know what I mean? But it's like now when you think your ass low you ain't low. Somebody see your ass. Ain't no down low no more. Hell no. Uh-huh. You better keep your nose clean, boy. I see people all the time. Hey, how you doing? Nice to meet you.

11:27Shannon Sharpe:Hey, how you doing? It's nice to see you. I ain't never seen you before in my life, but it's nice to see you. But here's the thing I think was really different about it was, and I was single at the time, But I didn't know that women invested in men the way we invested in them until I got traded to another team. Then I found out about her. Yeah, yeah. Wait a minute, I thought she was with it. But no, she was with it. No, but she was with it. And you find out when you go to another team, it's all of a sudden, damn. These women are working this thing. And now even more so when I think about the money and how big it is and all this stuff, I'm just I'm just flabbergasted.

12:13I look at the who is your guy that his wife is an actor and his wife is an actress and she got all that money. A former basketball player played with the Knicks. Yeah, he played with the Knicks and played with Cleveland. Also, he had to give his wife is famous right now. what's her name? You're talking about Tristan? No, you're talking about Tristan Thompson. I'm talking about his wife right now is doing all these movies. He's on ESPN. Got real dark lips. You know who I'm talking about. Iman Shufford.

12:51Shannon Sharpe:Iman Shufford. The money he had to give up to his wife. Ex-wife. Yes, ex. Well, the money he had to give up, I don't give a damn what the ex is. that wasn't the damn thing the money he had to give up he gave up four houses what woman need four damn houses I'm sorry I'm up here I might not be on the show ever again but I'm preaching this thing right now I'm sorry I'm really sorry Brad go get up Brad go get up come on man come on like Martin say on Thin Line Between Love she broke me down to my damn in the damn police station. Hey, hey. I don't understand. I don't understand it. And I know we're in an era where we see players and we see and celebrities cross together.

13:44But when I see some of the finances now, it's like Ant-Man gave his baby mama, gave her a million dollars and she wanted to come back and say, no, no, no. No, Holmes, you ain't give me enough. He signed a new contract. I'm like, Damn, what is going on in this world?

14:03Shannon Sharpe:It's a scary, it's a scary, we're in scary times, man, for real. We really in scary times, bro. You got to really be careful. I think you should, I think you should just go, I'll just go down to Tussies and get my money way down there. I'm good.

18:57Shannon Sharpe:Sean Watson has emerged from minicamp last week with the early lead over Shadour in the quarterback competition and has the inside track to be named QB1, according to Mary Kay Cabot. Head coach Todd Munkin hopes to declare or at least identify his starting quarterback by the end of mandatory minicamps June 9th through the 11th. Ocho, I know it's early. Yeah. We were talking about this. Yeah. We looked at the$46 million salary. Yes, sir. It's hard for a guy to be at$46 million and be on the bench. Either he going to start or you're going to trade him or release him. But he wasn't going to be there.

19:32Shannon Sharpe:Take us away, Ocho. What gave you the conviction that you say, you know what, look, I understand your door and he closed out and he got a new head coach. But Deshaun Watson is going to be the starter. Yeah, I understood Deshaun Watson. Just understanding the business in general, Uncle Joe, especially the money that they invested in him, money that they can't give back. There's really nothing they can do about it this year. What he's making is what he's making. So if he's making that and he's actually healthy this time and there's nothing wrong with him, Uncle Joe, he's going to be in there as a starting quarterback.

20:00I mean, people should know that from the outside looking in. You know what? Very well, maybe, goddamn young. God damn it. Slipping my goddamn mind. What is it, Shador? Shador probably will be the quarterback of the future. But we won't know until Deshaun plays this season and things aren't going well. That'll be the only time Shadour unseats him as a starting quarterback. They're going to give Deshaun Watson every ample opportunity to not only win this battle, to justify the money that he's making, but to also put on film and audition for other teams after this season is up. Because obviously, he won't be with Cleveland next year, Joe.

20:41You know? Unless he have

20:43Shannon Sharpe:a hell of a year.

20:47Shannon Sharpe:But that's what I would be afraid of, Joe. What? I would be afraid of that, Ocho. He has a hell of a year. His injury history, then what? I gave him another three-year, four-year deal,$150,$200 million. They ain't going to want to do that. No, I don't think they're going to do that. Because that's the going rate? How old is Deshaun? Deshaun's not that old. Yeah, but I'm still... Deshaun, what, is he 32? If he's that? But he's still not going to do that, though. He's still not going to do that. Yeah, this is an opportunity for him to be able to show what he can do for other teams that may still be in the quarterback.

21:19Shannon Sharpe:DeJarne Watson is 30 years old, guys. Hold on, hold on, hold on, Ocho, hold on. You mean to tell me if this man goes out, gets the Browns to the playoffs, let's say they make it to the second round. Yeah. You saying y 'all don't think they'll bring him back? No. Mm-mm. That's not your quarterback for the next 10 years. Your quarterback for the next 10 years is probably sitting behind him. I get that. Yeah, no, no. I think they will move on. I just say he started this year just based on the salary and the amount of money he's making. They're not going to have him on the bench, especially when he's healthy.

21:58Shannon Sharpe:Has the schedule came out yet? NFL schedule came out yet? No. I don't think. I want to see who them first six, seven games against. We know who the opponents are. we know like the NFC East is going to play the AFC West or something like that. But we don't know when they're going to actually play. Okay. That's going to be interesting though. In a way, it's a good thing for Deshaun. You know, Joker just gives him an opportunity to show that he can still play at a very high level. And it probably won't be in Cleveland after this season, but it'll probably be somewhere else ensuring that you can still get it done.

22:39They got the right reps around you. They had a very, very good draft. Yeah, I agree.

22:45Shannon Sharpe:I agree. I'm excited to see what they do. And Shadour will have his opportunity. He's going to get his chance. He's going to get his chance where the team is actually his. He doesn't have to look over his shoulder. You know? If things don't go right for Deshaun this season, Shadour will step up. And once you step in at that position, you've got to close that door behind you. Yeah. Yeah. part of me agree with you Joe because I think Deshaun can make it very very interesting very difficult for the Brown he goes out there and plays like we know he can play like what we last saw him now we haven't seen this in a long time it's been many many years removed since we lost last saw Deshaun and many had him as a top three top four quarterback in all of football we haven't seen that guy in a while I don't know if he can get back to that injuries, shoulder injuries, Achilles, things like that.

23:40Shannon Sharpe:They've kind of robbed him of some of his ability. But if he can get back to that, let's just say he's only 30. He gets back to that Ocho. He makes it very difficult. Now, the question is, would the Browns be willing to invest another$150, $200 million in him? That's the question. No. They'll allow that to be on someone else's books. they'll build around Shador for another two years until he's up.

Read the full transcript

24:09That would make more sense to me than investing. I already paid a boatload of money guaranteed to him. I'm going to let that money go on somebody else's books that needs it. I'm going to go young with Shador. Give me a good two, three years

24:27Shannon Sharpe:before I you got to pay him.

24:36Shannon Sharpe:The New York Times drops its unranked list of the 30 greatest living American songwriters. Nile Rodgers, Lucinda Williams, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Paul Simon, Taylor Swift, Brian and Eddie Holland, Missy Elliott, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, Young Thug. Diane Warren, Josh Osborne, Brandi Clark, Shane McNally, Fiona Apple, Babyface, Stephen Merritt, Romeo Santos, Carole King, Outkast, Mariah Carey, Willie Nelson, Kendrick Lamar, Valerie Simpson, Bob Dylan, Lana Del Rey, The Dream, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Bad Bunny, Bruce Springsteen, Smokey Robinson. You ain't say Drake? No Kanye? You ain't say Drake?

25:29Shannon Sharpe:Hell, it wasn't me. It ain't my list. I just read the list that they had up there. How they ain't got no Kanye? There's a whole lot of people up there that do a whole lot of writing, depending on how in-depth you are with different genres of music. There's some names on there I never would have known. Damn. That were actual writers outside of doing music themselves. Yeah. I've heard, you know, Nile Rodgers and Jay-Z, Paul Simon, obviously, Stevie Wonder, Missy. I mean, I know some of these. Some of these, I agree with you. I know Diane Warren. Young Thug? Yeah, I'm sure Young Thug writes for other artists.

26:09Where's Future? Yeah.

26:12Shannon Sharpe:Okay, how about that? You got Young Thug as a better writer over Future? I mean, how you ain't got Drake in there, though? Real talk. What about Kanye? What we doing now? Hey, doing exactly what they want us to do? Have a conversation? Get upset? Well, we having it. They left Future and Kanye out there just because. They had to, bro. I love Future. I love Future because it's his soulfulness. Like, you know, yeah, he a rapper, but at the same time, he has a unique sound. Unique, like his music, you can kind of, you know, you really can feel it. I don't know how they left him off of there. they say Drake don't write does Kanye write does Future write

27:08which one of them write they gotta do something does Kanye write

27:14Shannon Sharpe:does Future write they got to

27:21damn ain't no way in hell they just do one thing just rap hey babyface is the real deal boy

27:28Shannon Sharpe:They tell me about it. They baby faces the real deal. Now you want to talk about some music? Who that? So you think all these people up here, they're the only ones, Kanye's the only one that works with a group? That work with a group? So everybody else is by themselves. Just everything that they come out with, they wrote. They might have left Kanye off on purpose because he's so controversial. oh so they use it against him yeah he controversial I mean big time bro I just feel like talent is talent man you you right about that that's the way we see it that ain't the way they see it does the dream does he write Jazzy Faye does he write hey you remember Jazzy Faye I don't see him all the time as Houston's up on Lennox Road.

28:26Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. That Houston used to be jumping, boy. Jumping, man. I love that. That was right there by the crib, too, Joe.

28:36Shannon Sharpe:Man, you know they get that cheese bread? Yeah. Yeah. Boy, I used to eat. Joe, you remember they had that chicken sandwich that built more and they had them chicken fingers? Them chicken fingers was off the chain. I don't know why they took them off the menu. Well, listen. Hey, when I played in Phoenix, we should, man, we should go to Houston. Right there, I know exactly, I know, right there in Scottsdale, I know exactly what you're talking about. Man, we should go. Every time I go, every time we play the Cardinals, we get in the car, we go into Houston. Every time, as a matter of fact, when the Super Bowl was there a couple years ago, Shelly and I went.

29:15Shannon Sharpe:What, hey, you ain't lying, them chicken fingers off the chain.

29:22Shannon Sharpe:Some of these people I don't know. I ain't going to even hold you. I don't either. I don't know Josh Osborne, Brandi Clark, Shane McNally. I know Fiona Apple. I know Babyface. Carole King, Outkast, Mariah Kelly, Willie Nelson, Valerie Simpson. She's one half of Ashford and Simpson, Nick Ashford, and Valerie Simpson. Bob Dylan, I know who he is. Oh, the Dream's on here. He's down here. Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Bad Bunny, Bruce Springsteen. Yep. Niles Rogers has been at it a while. What was the name of his group? He was in a group early in the 80s. I know he was also with Pharrell Williams. What was the group he was with, Niles Rodgers, in the 80s?

30:10Shannon Sharpe:I think it was a woman, a female's group.

30:16Shannon Sharpe:Taste of Honey. Chick. Chick. Chick. C-H-I-C. Chick. Ah, freak out. Yeah, that was him? That was him, yeah. You think you're tired of it? Yes. I'm looking him up now. Yeah. And he wrote for, what you call him?

30:39Shannon Sharpe:He did some stuff. He grew up with Pharrell Williams, too, I think.

30:46I think he was with Daft Punk, too.

30:52Shannon Sharpe:yeah I'm trying to think see if he was in the group Daft Punk with uh

31:02Shannon Sharpe:no I don't think Rob Temperton I don't think he's American I think he's a British guy he might be American huh but what you call him in that group Pharrell and now Rodgers

31:27Oh, Dolly.

35:41Shannon Sharpe:Sean McVay opened tonight's press conference saying he got so many texts about last night's post-draft news conference and wanted to clarify that he and GM Les Snead couldn't be more lockstep in every decision that we make. The Rams drafted Ty Simpson at number 13. And on McVay's brief response to the question and overall body language which led some to speculate that he was unhappy with the Rams pick. Ocho, do you believe Sean McVay? Absolutely not. He knew he was unhappy. He didn't like it. That came from upstairs. He didn't want that pick. That pick came from upstairs. Listen, I like Ty Simpson.

36:17I like what he did at Alabama. It was cool. But he's not the one. Excuse me. Let me take this back. He's not one that's going to be the successor to goddamn Matt Stafford. he's just not most of the time you see quarterbacks come in are they going to allow him to develop well you just drafted a quarterback not long ago in Stetson Bennett who you thought was going to be the one to be the successor obviously he's not the answer and you're going on now you draft another quarterback that position Joe is one of the hardest unk to be able to find someone to evaluate because you don't know what you're getting until you put him in that situation under the goddamn fire is very, very, very, very difficult.

37:02Very difficult. That's why so many teams struggle to find one. So you have no choice but to pick someone that early. You have no choice. Because you don't want to wait, Joe. You don't want to be in quarterback purgatory like the Steelers are. Everyone's not going to be lucky like the Green Bay Packers. You're not going to be able to go from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love. It doesn't happen like that. They just, they got lucky.

37:26Shannon Sharpe:Look like they're going to have 50 years of great quarterback play. Damn. You're right. You're right. I don't know. I think the thing, because Sean McVay, look, they got to be lock, stepping, barrel. Because Sean McVay got final say. Got a lot of say. Sean McVay is just not a guy that's, oh, he the coach, and he ain't got no say. He got a lot of say. Yeah. I just don't think that was his body language, his mannerisms. With that pick, you can tell that went over his head. The Rams became the first team to have a quarterback win the MVP, then select the quarterback in the first round of the subsequent NFL draft since the Green Bay Packers did in 1967.

38:05Shannon Sharpe:The Bart Starr won the award in 1966, and then Green Bay drafted Don Horn 25th overall the following year.

38:16It don't make no sense to me. It's a pick that makes no sense to me. because Matt Stafford, with the way he's playing at MVP level at 30 years old, ain't no telling when he's going to give up. Ain't no telling when he's going to stop. And people say, oh, his back was hurt in training camp last year. The devil is a lie. Wasn't nothing wrong with him. The man threw 45 touchdowns. He threw 45 touchdowns. Hey, Unc, now you know good and well, we got load management in the NBA, right? Okay, you know what? My back hurt. I don't really need training camp. I know what to do. We talk about Matt Stafford.

38:52He's played a lot of football. Ain't nothing wrong with his back. I mean, if you know, you know. I know what you're doing. You don't want training camp. You don't want to.

39:08Shannon Sharpe:No, when you look at it, when you look at it, I understand. And I think the thing is, the people said, this is the problem Green Bay ran into because instead of drafting somebody that could help Aaron Rodgers right now, you drafted a quarterback that was going to be two, three years away from playing. They see this as a very similar situation. I mean, what player that you thought they were going to be able to draft that was going to come in and say, okay, I mean, you got Devontae, you got Puka, you got Kyron, you got – I'm just trying to figure who they – I mean, defense, they're loaded. They're loaded up on two corners.

39:40Shannon Sharpe:The safeties are solid. The linebackers are really good. The D-line is outstanding. You got Burse. You got Young. You took the, I forget where the lineman was from, from Florida State Fisk. I'm trying to figure out, Ochoa, I mean, who do you think they could have taken that's going to come in right now and be a key contributor to this team?

40:04You know what? You know what? I do want to take something back, too. I want to take something back. Because the supporting cast and the defense is so good with Puka and Devontae Smith. you could probably, you probably could plug Ty Simpson in. Probably could because the supporting cast around him is so goddamn good. McVay is such a genius when it comes to play calling and being able to play to his player strength. So whatever weaknesses Ty Simpson may have, maybe he can go in there and be efficient and be good. He won't be Matt Stafford, but I'm saying he will have time to develop. He will have time to develop and get better playing behind an MVP caliber Super Bowl winning quarterback.

40:49But I'm just basing everything off what I saw in college, Joe. That's all. You was okay at Alabama, but the bottom dropped out towards the end of the season. It absolutely did. You know? That's all I'm saying. I don't know.

41:04Shannon Sharpe:Check this out, guys. Because he was drafted 57th overall, Logan Jones will receive a lifetime supply of ketchup from the Kraft Heinz company. Jones didn't know the incentive of the draft slot until he was informed on Zoom after being selected. I love it. I'll take as much as I can get. Let's go, ketchup. He was draft 57? He was draft from Heinz 57. Yeah, yeah. Damn. That's dope. That's mean. I mean, how much ketchup you think you guys have eaten in a lifetime? Me? I don't... I don't... I don't want to use ketchup. You eat ketchup on your hot dog? Oh, you eat cup of... Your hot dog's plain. Yeah, I eat Michael Izzy's plain, huh?

41:51Even my french fries. When I go to McDonald's, I tell... Make sure it's lightly salted.

41:55Shannon Sharpe:No ketchup. Hey, y 'all ain't never had ketchup on your chips, like your Lay's chips or nothing like that? When I was younger. Nah. You don't do it now? Nah. You put hot sauce on them, Joe. Yeah, we put hot sauce. You put ketchup on your chip. Yeah, man. Hey. I like me some ketchup now. Ketchup on your chips. On some Lay's chips. We used to put... I like Lay's. We used to put peanuts in Coca-Cola. Remember we put peanuts in the bottle, Joe? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then guess what? You drank all the Coca-Cola, peanuts stuck at the bottle. You never get them out. Hold on. Wait. Where they do that at?

42:31Shannon Sharpe:Peanuts in your Coca-Cola? Yeah, you have a Coke, you don't Coke those bottles. So you put peanuts in them. Yeah. Yeah. You ain't never do that, Joe? What'd that do? I know y 'all did that I know good and well y 'all put peanuts in y 'all Coca-Cola y 'all ain't never mixed popcorn with your chips yeah Ocho you ain't never mixed popcorn with your chips nah I ain't never heard of that joke I ain't never heard of this I forget what is it called but they put popcorn peanut and plain M &M's and raisins we did that was what you call that was, you know, that wasn't us. That was their parents. Yeah, yeah.

43:14Shannon Sharpe:They brought that. First of all, we wasn't getting no, you wasn't getting no M &Ms. You wasn't getting no popcorn. You damn sure wasn't getting no Razor. You might get one of the three, but you damn sure wasn't getting all three. Right, right. Right. I think it's called Gorp or something, but I don't know, but I'm saying, I think I was like the second or third grade and somebody's parents brought that together. That thing was good. I was like, damn, y 'all living it up over there. it. Man, I'm not getting none of that. We got the wise. Hey, y 'all remember the wise potato chips? You wasn't getting no legs.

43:48Shannon Sharpe:You wasn't getting no ruffles. You wasn't getting that good stuff. You got the wise with the owl on the back.

43:57Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that's what it's called. Yeah, but they made it. It wasn't back then. I think they do it now, but they made it.

44:07Shannon Sharpe:So, what? What you laughing at, actually? I'm saying that's what they did. Yeah, see? Y 'all don't know nothing about that, see? They're going to talk about it. See, what people started doing is things that we started concocting, they started making it. There you go. That's what they started doing. There you go. We were doing that. They weren't even thinking about that. Stole our ideas.

44:37Shannon Sharpe:Ohio State wide receiver Ocho and Joe just bought his dream car. He isn't even eligible for the NFL until the next draft. Just five months away from turning 21 years of age, Smith picked up a 2026 Lamborghini Urus starting at$250, a quarter of a million, which is pocket change when you consider he's one of the highest paid NIL athletes in the country with a valuation of$4.2 million thanks to deals with Adidas, Red Bull, Lululemon, and Nintendo. Oh, Joe, Joe, if NIL were around when you was in college. Yes. What you calling? Hey. Hey. I ain't going to lie. Look, let me tell you something. I'm going to have me something fly.

45:22Shannon Sharpe:See, when I was in college, y 'all know what came out? What came out was them expeditions and them navigators. That's what came out when I was in college. They was the hardest thing. Hey, Joe, remember Excursions? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They had just came out around that time, like 2001, 2000. So everybody was getting there. But, yeah. Hey, Ocho, you making four points on a million in college? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, get your little Uriahs, a little Lambo or something, boy. Hey, I probably would have caught me something like that now. Yeah, I ain't going to act like that. Hey, I'm just about to turn 21, and you mean, boy?

45:56Shannon Sharpe:No. I'm going to get, yeah, I'm like, hey, hey. Ball out Jeremiah, shit. Hey. Yeah. What you getting, huh? Put them thangs on there. Hey, you know I had a little something. I had a little something. Bro hook me up, I had a 300 ZX. You know what I'm saying? T-Tops. This is a T-Tops. You know I had a little thing. Then my senior had a 300 Benz. You know I had a little something. Little something, something. Yeah! Imagine if you had$4 million on your own. You make it. Oh, I had a sports car. Oh, yeah, yeah. Hold on. You know, back then, those big 560 Mercedes was out. Yeah. Old big body. 500 series, yeah.

46:38Yeah.

46:40Shannon Sharpe:Probably something like that because I ain't really know nothing about no little. I had never seen a Ferrari up close in person. Never had seen a Lamborghini. So I probably wouldn't even. Probably got. You know what was out, too? The IROC Zs. Remember no IROC Z? Yeah, I remember IROC. Yeah. I think nowadays you got so many of these young cats driving these Lambos and Rolls Royces here. You know, these kids see all that. They want that big boy. Yeah, for sure. Antlers and all that. Yeah. Yeah. What you getting, Ocho? Hey. You died in Miami. Oh, no, you in Oregon. So you in Oregon State. What you getting?

47:19I still got that Miami mentality. And knowing me having that kind of money, The first thing I would have did, being a little shorty, being a JIT, I would have got me a Chevy. I was gonna say you get the donk or box Chevy regardless. Hey, I'm getting a donk. 73 convertible top, you know, on some all gone Bs. That's just the mindset, especially when I'm that young, where I wouldn't be choosing, you know, nothing foreign. But my first car, I would want a damn Chevy. Yeah. Yeah, boy.

47:48Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, but I don't know, hey, I might have to get me something with a bottle. You know what I'm saying? Hey, I ain't gonna be laughing at all. Y 'all about to give me something with a passport. Hey. Yeah. But hey, that ain't gonna be the first car. The first part we'll go, hey, man Porter definitely will get them out of there. She getting out of round four, box three and five. You hear me? Well, listen. Boy, these kids balling out of control. Man. Oh, yeah. Hey, hey, they need some real help and guidance too, bro. Because you know, you get what - The stories that I hear about guys coming out and had that NIL and they seven figures to the tax man.

48:25Shannon Sharpe:Think about it though. Think about it if you come from a family whose parents never had this type of money. Hell it ain't just you spending. You know what I'm saying?

48:41Yeah. I'm just thinking about that boy. You can't imagine. You can't even imagine. Man, me pulling up to the game when I got down in Chevy Boy with that old trick daddy playing, that 2000 trick.

48:56Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I know one. I know. You had that flip-flop playing on that thing on your? That who? That flip-flop paint. That chameleon. Oh, you remember that chameleon paint? You remember that? I remember that flip-flop. Hey, I'm going to have mine that bowling ball. That thing will be looking like the old bowling ball with that shine on it. Hey, I know one thing. When you get your ass on that field, you better be cutting up. Oh, you know I'm a cut up Joe. You know I'm a cut up Joe. I ain't got no choice. Oh yeah. Hey, that's the one thing you got to understand as a young player. Hey, it's good to have all these things.

49:31Shannon Sharpe:You know, these materialistic things. But don't forget, don't forget why you're here now. How you got it. And how you got it. Don't forget. You lose that edge. You lose a little bit of that drive. Yeah. Hey, you know back in the day, I pull up to the game, had that little 300 seat. You know, after the game, old lady, you know, when we get the thing, you know, I had to go shower, you know. I couldn't take no shower. I had to go back to the door and shower. Then we go out and get a little something to eat. You know what I'm saying, Ocho? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I was balling a little bit.

50:02Shannon Sharpe:A little bit. Bro had to hook that thing up. Four M's, bro. In college, 20 years old. Yeah, we going to carry here. You getting them gizzles, prize carry here. to go to rinds you know a little something man that was whoo man i still man i'm thinking about it too bro yeah what you think about i mean back then and you know you know them i'm gonna just say the d boys you know the boy had them chevys and them goddamn dude yeah man they were cutting up Man, boy. Man, them Ford, them Ford, Ford Super Duty F450s and 350s. I thought about getting what you call that Shelby. Yeah. That Shelby. Yeah. I went test drove.

50:56Shannon Sharpe:That's the only car I've ever test drove. I'm like, man, I might get this thing here. A Shelby? That Shelby, yeah. The one from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds? Nah. Nah, it's a Shelby. It's a pickup truck. I know what he talking about. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Yeah. No, I ain't talking about that. I ain't talking about that 427. I think you talking about that Eleanor, though. Yeah, Eleanor. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that Mustang.

51:23Shannon Sharpe:All right, it's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q &A.

51:37Shannon Sharpe:Before we get to the super chat, we got five video voicemails from our Discord. Let's take a listen.

51:58We hear, hey, man, this was terrible, man.

52:01Shannon Sharpe:This was terrible, man. This was terrible. Austin Reeves. One thing about Austin Reeves so far, the last couple playoffs, he showed me something. He's showing me something. He's not ready. I don't know if he got that dog in him, Unc. Do we got that dog in him, Unc? What's going on? Unc, Ocho Joe, how often can we rely on the Thunder missing all these threes? How often can we rely on the Thunder turning the ball over at this rate? How often can we rely on that? I'm mad, Nightcap family. I'm mad in the mouth. I'm mad, y 'all. No, I'm mad because this is some straight-up BS. This is a game you got to win.

52:38This is a game when the best team in the NBA play this bad,

52:41Shannon Sharpe:you got to win it. I'm sorry, y 'all. I'm just mad. I'm mad he mad. Joe, how you mad? You knew what the outcome was. No, but they had a chance, though. That's what he said. It's kind of like they got teased a little bit. That's what it is. It's like, man, we played pretty decent first quarter, second quarter, until the last, what, couple minutes. And then outside of that, you know, you get down 8 to 12 points. Right. You can't come back. And like he said, hell, he seen the turnovers that Shea had. Like I'm going to say, they ain't held Shea under 20 points, and I don't know how damn long. 20 points.

53:23Shannon Sharpe:So you get this opportunity, damn, you just – Bron just needed a little help. He just needed some – he needed AR to, you know, be a little efficient. I understand. So he just wanted to feel good tonight then. That's it. Yeah, well, I mean, you got to – no, what it is – I'm understanding. What he's saying is – Man, why you trying to – man said he mad, Ocho. I know. I'm just saying. But also, outside of being mad, you also have to be realistic, you know, going into the series understanding, you know, there's a good chance, you know, we might not win a game. You're playing the best team. You're playing the best team out the goddamn West.

53:58Shannon Sharpe:I think what Joe said, and we talked about it, we didn't expect them to play this bad. I mean, think about it. How many shots? She only went to the line three times. Yeah. And look at all the threes. Look at all the turnovers they had. Yeah. And they still beat you by 18. And they only had 108 points. And you know they're going to have a couple of them games where they got 130, 140. Yes. And you know if they get to that 130 week, the game need to be at 100. Yeah. Because that's your best chance of winning. You're not going to outscore them. And the funny thing about it too, Uncle Joe, you just said it too, right?

54:35Shea didn't have a huge game, you know, offensively. One of the few games where he didn't score 20. Hell, he didn't score 30. But hell, everybody else contributed too. Everybody else contributed too. So even if he does have an off night, hey, you still got to deal with everybody else.

54:54Shannon Sharpe:that's the time that you're like, okay, Austin. So think about it. LeBron took a back seat to Austin. He took a back seat.

55:08Shannon Sharpe:You know why? You know why? Because he knew it was gonna take him a little while to find his rhythm in time. And after missing the first, what, 15, 17 games? he knew it was going to take him a little while the same with AR bro it takes a little time Paramount Plus is now the home of all your BET favorites what? with all new episodes of Tyler Perry's Divorce Sisters you've always liked a little drama plus a whole new world of movies like Gladiator 2 now I will control an empire original series like The Chi just make sure we protect each other and live sports like UFC Welcome to the history books!
