In short
The episode covers multiple NFL-related topics and debates, led by Tony Ayo and Uncle Murda. Main topic 1: Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold faces multiple felony charges after a Tampa, Florida arrest tied to an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping in early February. Police claim Arnold believed people stole from an Airbnb he rented, then allegedly orchestrated the attack: two women lured a victim to an apartment where armed suspects hid in a closet, jumped out, beat the victims, robbed them, live-streamed the incident, and Arnold allegedly gave directions via group chat. Victims were later forced into their vehicles at gunpoint before release. Arnold’s PR says he categorically denies it. Key claim: the victims reportedly had nothing to do with any theft.
Main topic 2
Mary Kay Cabot’s report on Myles Garrett: he was respected but not “universally beloved,” allegedly kept a tight inner circle; Jared Verse is expected to be a “force multiplier” in Cleveland.
Notable examples
comparisons to other alleged athlete incidents (e.g., OJ-style memorabilia story) and a discussion of Bengals/LSU “2019 vibe” and Sauce Gardner’s birth-year discrepancy.

3:08Lions cornerback, Taron Arnold, is facing multiple felony charges after he was arrested in Tampa, Florida in connection with a robbery and kidnapping early in February. Police say Arnold reportedly orchestrated an armed robbery and kidnapping after believing several people had stolen property from an Airbnb he rented, even though investigators later determined the victims had nothing to do with the theft. According to police, two women allegedly lured the victim to a Tampa apartment where two armed suspects hiding in the closet jumped out, held them at gunpoint, beat them, and robbed them. Investigators said it say the attack was live streamed to Arnold, who allegedly gave directions through a group chat before arriving at the apartment while the robbery was still underway.
3:57Police say the victims later were forced into their own vehicles at gunpoint before being released. Hey, they took some from T.A.? But T.A. didn't turn into John Gotti out there, huh? Oh, Joe. Let's just say for the sake of argument, Joe, for this discussion, let's just say they had taken it. it's insured. Well, we're not sure if it's insured. Because if it wasn't insured, it should be stolen. If you got$250 ,000 worth of anything, Ocho, and it's not insured, if it's jewelry, if it's necklaces, watches, rings, automobiles, whatever the case is, you're bigger than... That's a bigger problem. But let's just say for the sake of argument.
4:51Yeah, go ahead. You're in the NFL, guys. Joe, you're professional. Joe, stop. See, this is the problem. Keeping it real. Stop keeping it real. You cannot keep it real anymore when you make millions of dollars. You work your entire life to get in this situation. Why do you need to keep it real? Listen, some cats being disrespected and violated, bro, they don't know no other way. You know what I mean? I understand what you're saying, but some cats, there's just a reaction. It's like, damn, hold on. Them folks on the stove for me, they didn't disrespect me, they done violated me to the utmost degree.
5:40Some cats, bro, they don't rationalize like that. You know what I mean? They think straight, hey. Boom, let me make this play real quick because they got me bent. You feel me? The authorities say, Joe, Ocho. Yeah. The authorities say the people that he tied up and beat didn't even do it. Hey, Ocho. You know what? Also, when it comes to NFL players, you know, I love T.A. Man, the death. And I'm, you know, upset at him. I'm disappointed at him for even putting himself in this situation. but if he doesn't have a level head if there's something that got stolen from him, the people around him his entourage, somebody got to be the brains somebody else has to be the brains because when the thought or the solution magic is low when the solution was to even think about doing this, whoever came with the master plan that should be like, nah we ain't doing that hell, that was him Joe, Ocho, this is how I'm thinking.
6:48If I got homeboys that are willing to do that, I got to let them go. Because it's only a matter of time. I ain't going to be able to control them. Because if they'll do that, they'll do that without being prompted by me. And if they're in my circle, who's getting to? The people like that, they're around you. Joe, you're responsible for them. Ocho, you're responsible for them. Yeah. I can't have somebody around me that'll do stuff. But to go get the strap and to rob somebody and to tie him up, if what's being reported is true. They say this happened in February. So this was a long investigation.
7:26Remember, March, April, May, here we are in late June. So basically four months. They've done their due diligence, but here's the thing, Ocho. Yeah. When you got the most to lose, you got to be the most logical. because when they get pinched I tell you what of all those people in that gambling incident who did they walk out they named a lot of names who did they walk out the ones we know so when the rubber needs to meet the road they don't want no how many times you ever seen somebody hold up a perch a bluegill a crappy they hold up trophy fishes so in this situation who the trophy T.A. I just I hate that you know look we make mistakes we all you know we put ourselves in situation and like Lord I just hope I hope for the sake of argument this isn't true through his PR person they said he categorically denies this and I hope I hope this is a big misunderstanding Lord I hope this young man with so much promise in front of him I just I just I mean when did this Ocho a professional athlete order somebody to get tied allegedly order somebody to get tied up and robbed and they potentially live streamed it so he could see it and then he came.
9:09They don't tell me but one thing. He young. He ain't know no better, bro. I'm telling you. He looking at it from a standpoint that, man, I done put XYZ amount of money up in this Airbnb. You mean to tell me they done came and stole it? Oh, hell nah. Hell nah. He trying to get his stuff back. He wasn't trying to hear all that. That's crazy. That was a very similar situation. OJ did the same thing out in Vegas. Remember, allegedly, he was told that they had memorabilia of his and they were trying to sell it, and he ran in there. And what happened? They told on him. Yeah. The only difference is he happened to be, he showed up with the food.
9:57They got him listening. Hey, hey, don't let him out of here. Hold him. I just I hate this young man put himself in this situation if this is true I really do guys bro get that stuff insured if you want to have look everybody you know guys want to have nice chains Ocho and jewelry I've been there had my stuff you know and got it taken and you feel violated Joe you know Joe you mentioned you had stuff to be broken into your house you feel violent you really do you really really do and I can but I was like man if I knew who did this I probably I want to do something bad to him man because that's man you work so hard and when you come up like a lot of us came up not having and you work so hard to get something and then somebody just come take it I'm telling you bro and you really don't know how you'll react especially if you do know who the people are who've done it.
10:59You really don't, bro. Real talk, man. I'm talking about hey, man. I mean, that's violation to the worst degree, bro. Imagine you come home. I'm talking about every mattress in your house flipped over. It's mattress in the hallway. What the hell? Somebody refurnishing it? I'm talking about that type of break-in. It's hard to sleep at night behind. Hey, Joe, I came home and I looked, I was like, and I saw stuff. I was like, well, damn, was it an earthquake? I mean, but I was in the area. I would have found an earthquake because earthquake did the same thing. Knocked stuff over and stuff was broken.
11:40Yeah. And I'm like, and then I looked, I was like, well, damn, where are my watches?
11:48Oh, damn. My heart just started beating fast. Yeah. Because at first, I didn't know. At first, I went upstairs. I got Titus. No. Was it Titus? Yeah, Titus. Because I had got Titus. I let him out. I got the little ones. I let them out. So I'm just letting them out. I'm not even thinking anything about it. Everything is normal downstairs because I had the little ones downstairs and the kennels. So I'm not thinking anything. Everything looks normal when I get in the house. man and I remember going up to my bedroom and I'm like where all this glass come from
12:32like man where my watch is I had a Christopher backpack I was like well damn where my backpack so now I go back down to the truck cause I'm thinking well maybe I left it in my truck but I know I never leave it in the truck cause that's the last thing I don't want somebody to be able to just you know ease access So I was like, you know, if you think you lost something, you looking for stuff, well, you know, man, what am I watching? Let me look in the refrigerator. Let me look in the oven. Man, you know damn well you ain't even no watch, you know damn refrigerator, no oven. Got you looking with your place, and you know you ain't left your...
13:04I was like, then it dawned on me. I've been robbed. Yeah. I was like, man, I've been robbed. Yeah. That's crazy. I'll try to call Shelly I just called I was like call 911 911 what is your emergency I'm like ma 'am I'd like to report a break in you see they're like are they still there I'm like nah I'd be having a very difficult call if they were this would be a very different call if they were still here ma 'am I was like my jury is gone man I waited I waited like it took like two hours because if it's not an injury it's not an they don't deem a robbery as an emergency so they're not it's not like if you know is anybody injured something like that I started lying so yeah but then they end up getting me for lying so I was like nah nobody's injured man I was like man and I just remember sitting on my bed just looking at the glass on the floor I was like damn that's one of the worst feelings in the world man it was I said all my watches man I said man 30 plus years gone damn I had everything cufflinks I was just so distraught I was just so distraught that's a violation bro that's a violation you feel it don't get no lower than that bro you come home and your stuff ramshack like that
14:45hey joe I'm gonna come on pay you a little visit too down there damn joe that man say he knows he knows a violation but hey he can't help himself joe I wanna make sure y 'all want you home too damn joe I bet he get his ass chewed by this big ass dog I got over there too I bet that two of them I got two of them I bet that I guarantee that I guarantee you when they find you damn boy somebody chewed up on you you alright? If they can find me that's the problem. Yeah okay you right. You right. I got something for them dogs ammonia put them right to sleep. They'll be asleep for about 30 minutes. Nah that don't work on them.
15:28Hey I want that car collection you got. Oh you got a car? Yeah I forgot Joe got the cars. He might have some real pullers up in there Joe Ocho. Hey Chad Chad Chad that's why you can't tell people what you got going on. See how they do. They'll turn around and use it on you. You know what I'm talking about, chat? Pay attention now. What you're talking about? I'm talking about the card collection you said you had. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a nice little card collection. Hey, guess what? Guess what else I got? I got a nice little gun collection, too. Who do you think about shooting? Well, I really never want to have to...
16:07I really don't want to have to use it like that. I like to go to the range. you know what I mean, do my thing, but I really don't want to have to, you know what I mean, I ain't no killer but don't push it, okay? Joe said, this is the only time that I'm practicing that I don't really want to play the game. I understand what Joe's saying, but sometimes certain situations, you ain't got no choice but to react. I know, but I hope like hell I don't have to use it, you know what I mean? I don't want to have to use it on nobody. I go to the range, give me some shots off, you know what I mean? You know, make sure my aim's still accurate, you know what I'm saying?
16:39I hope it's accurate too. Yeah, you know, I'll be going to the range. The shots I'll be getting up, they'll be hitting dead center. Yeah, what you shooting over now? You know, I'm fixed. Now ain't nothing going on. I'm shooting blanks. They're talking about it. They're talking about it. Joe, you walk me to that one, Joe. You got me, Joe. You set me up. You set me up. Okay, Joe. He hit that one out the park, bro. Yeah, Joe set me up. Joe set me up. You good with it, Joe. You good with that, Joe. Okay? You sure you want the point guard? Because you can orchestrate that thing, Joe. Hey, boy. I know how you an old Joe move, boy.
17:20Why do you put my name in that stuff, man? Man, see, here you go. The folks that already said you won. You need to get out of this. I grew up in a church. I ain't nothing like what they think. Hell, them be the worst ones. Yeah. Yeah, that's why I grew up in the church. Yeah, I did. Yeah, y 'all be the worst one. Yeah. Preacher, daughter, cop, son. Boy, that's a mess. Yeah. Up there playing deacon. Yeah. Man, the foes are already on to you, bro. They know what's going on. Hell nah, that's a good one. Damn, bro. But I just, I hope this ain't true, Ocho. Joe, I really do, man. I really do. I hope this is a big one.
18:04I don't know. This was a big misunderstanding. Nah, nah. One of them misunderstanding. Yeah, misunderstanding about you taking something that didn't belong to you. After four months. I hope T.A. I hope T.A. Pulled this one off, man. Get up out of this, man. That's your hope, so. Fix whatever you need to fix. Mm-mm-mm. Oh, man. Lord have mercy. Ocho, why won't this man stop? This your guy. Brandon, I. You posted a video announcing he's back on tour and that ticket to come see him can be found on the Washington Commanders website. 21:28We cruised around L.A. in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and dove into the fascinating life of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr. Want the full story? Take a listen. Hedy, she starts dating Howard Hughes, the aviation tycoon. Do you know a lot about him? I mean, I watch The Aviator, so I know everything Leonardo DiCaprio has allowed me to know about him. But incredible innovator. Right. She says he's a, quote, very strange man. But they do get along really well. Give us examples. They do get along intellectually. And in fact, she helps him design a faster plane. She takes a look at what he's designed. It's got these square wings.
22:05And she's like, that doesn't make sense. And so she finds the fastest bird and the fastest fish and sketches out a drawing of like what the two would look like as a plane. And that becomes the plane that we know today. And he calls her a genius. Check out our new episode spotlighting groundbreaking innovators like Hedy Lamarr and Billie Jean King. Presented by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Goodbye. What's going on, bro? This Ocho. Ocho. Ocho the wide receiver. He's our resident wide receiver expert. He can speak wide receiver. Yeah, he the wide receiver whisperer. Hey, Uncle, there's certain things. I was crazy when I played, but there's certain lines even I know not to cross.
22:47I understand I have respect for the game. I have respect for, obviously, the organizations. Sometimes you don't always see eye to eye when it comes to the business side of things, Uncle Joe. But, I mean, B.A. is B.A. You know, he's going the route he feels necessary. something has happened to him that has him reacting like this uncle joe chat you know um do do do i support it no do i understand it yes in a sense because i don't know what's going on behind closed door that has him acting out the way he is i i just understand the small window of opportunity that this game gives us um i understand the small opportunity window joe yes it's very small and it goes by really fast.
23:35I just want B to take advantage of that small window and maximize on as much money as he can and as much success on the field as he can. Because this game, they will move on without you. They move on. And they won't mess a beat. Hey, but man, listen. Y 'all know, bro. This type of behavior, man, it don't help us. It doesn't. It don't help us, man. And see, us, we're the only group that one individual, it reflects negatively on all of us. All of us, yeah. We're the only group of people that one individual, what one individual does, reflect negatively on all of us. Ocho, you can be somewhere. Yeah.
24:19And we see somebody of our color, and they be acting up, and our skin starts to crawl. You're like, Lord, have mercy. Yeah. Jesus Christ, why are we doing this, man? Damn, Lord. and it's like they hold that against us they'll use that why this is why we can't pay him because you see what Brandon Ayoub did you see what this guy did you see bro other people act up and one person doesn't reflect negatively on an entire race we're the only race that that happens to I just man I just feel so I just like man I mean I was at the DMV in Atlanta man and And, you know, I went in, I got the parking spot, and this guy was about to pull in.
25:11And you see the guy, he got a thing on, he's just waiting for the person to pull out. So the person backs out and pulls, and the car shoots in. Oh, God have mercy. And the dude said, man, you know, blah, blah, blah, you know I was going to that spot. And the dude was arguing back and forth, and I was like, man, come on, let that go. Then his lady chided me in. He done died down. Then his lady, and I'm like, she had to back up, huh? He said, my man, your lady gonna get you, hey, gonna get you burnt, burnt. I said, bro, come on, bro, we don't need that. So I leave because I was like, bro, come on.
25:51But anyway, he's like, shop, he's like, yeah, I'll be watching you up, man. Hey, man, you be killing skills, man. You'll be fighting in the bulls. I said, yeah, come on. So, Joe, I go in the place. The lady's like, you, yeah, come on. Hey, come on. Just don't worry about it. You'll be next. I said, okay. They come in. They still going. Now, we're in a place. You know how DMV is. They ain't crowded. Hey, I tell you what. Don't worry about it. I got something for you. You know what. I'm going to spark this up on you and I'm like man why are you keep you going to get your man lit up shut up I said I tell you something man do what I'm going to do man I'm going to go up here I said hey can you get I said we're going to get a thing I said me and you going to take this picture we're going to bone on out he said man you going to do that yeah come on but I know how it looks and I just even it doesn't matter where we are.
26:57I'm always trying to diffuse a situation, especially, hey, I'm sorry. If you don't look like that, I'll keep on walking. But if it's us, I'm trying to diffuse it at all costs. Whatever it takes. That's just the way I am because I know how negatively it impacts how it looks.
27:25Miles Garrett reportedly was a universally beloved figure that seemed to be within the Cleveland Browns organization. According to Mary Kay Cabot, Garrett wasn't a true unifier for the team relative to his own field impact. Garrett was reportedly respected and revered, but wasn't necessarily universally beloved by everyone on the roster. Garrett was said to have stuck to a tight inner circle when outside of the team facility. Cabot added third-year linebacker, Jared Verse, who was the centerpiece in the Los Angeles trade package for Garrett, is expected to be more of a force multiplier than his predecessor.
28:04Oh, boy. Why they do that every time somebody goes somewhere? I don't know, Ocho. Now all of a sudden, that's not his job. Let's start there. He's employed by the Cleveland Browns and he has a job to do. He did a job to the utmost of his ability. Exemplary. Now, if you make friends during that time, like you say, Uncle, if you make friends during that time you're there, you know what? So be it. So be it. But you don't have to be open to any and everybody. Man, I got a job to do, man. I mean, with the way they was losing shit, I wouldn't want to be friends with nobody either. Yeah. Y 'all might, y 'all see me?
28:46I'm sorry, and this might rub off on me. I'm still far away from y 'all as I can. Yeah, but I mean, people got to understand. I don't know.
28:58he's striking me as a quiet guy. Yeah. Stay to himself. He just wants to go out, do his job, be great. And, I mean, I'm just trying to figure out, like, University of the Love. So what did they want him to do? Have team meetings? Bro, y 'all need 11 Miles Garrett in order to win. so I'm just have a team meeting have the guys over at his house right well everybody is not like that yeah everybody ain't like that y 'all keep expecting it because I think the thing is that I and I say this tongue in cheek is that everybody wants every defensive player to be Ray Lewis and they're not gonna be that Ray chose that role Ray wanted to be that everybody doesn't want to be that and that's okay

29:55I mean, I don't know if LT had people over at his house. I don't know if Reggie had people at his house. I don't know if Stray or Time. Everybody's not like that, and that's okay.
30:10Everybody doesn't want to bring the team up before the game and break them down and get everybody. Rah, rah, yeah. Yeah. Different. He, maybe, it seems to me, he seems to be one of those guys that led by example. I'm going to go out here and play my ass off. That's a good one. Y 'all follow me. That's a good one. And that's all you're supposed to do. You're not there to make no friends. You're there to do a job. And he is the best in the history of the game, one of the best in the history of the game at doing said job. All that friendly stuff is cool. And Ray was that guy that he wanted to have guys over.
30:46Buffy would cook. They would watch tape. He would call the guys over. They would watch film. They would watch a little tape after practice. But that's what he wanted to do. That's him who – in a nutshell, that's who Ray was. If that's not who Miles Garrett is, you're forcing him and you're trying to get him to be something that he's not. I ain't got no –
31:14I don't they could have they could have done without this just don't suck the man up I mean look it's the same even when you're with a woman or a woman with a guy what they say they say all these horrible things oh you ain't packing nothing why you gotta say all these nasty things you weaved together for 4 or 5 years you ain't say that then you ain't have no problem. When we was going on vacation, not me, I'm just talking about in general, we ain't even going on vacation, but I'm just saying, we's going on vacation, I'm buying you nice bags, I'm doing X, Y, and Z, you never had a problem. The moment all of a sudden we're not together now and I'm with someone else, now all of a sudden I'm terrible.
32:03They do it every time. I just, I don't get Get that.
32:13Some things, you know what, Ocho, sometimes you just leave well enough alone. You say, you know what, Miles, we appreciate the seven, eight, nine years that you gave us. You were phenomenal talent. Hey, you definitely left your mark in Cleveland. Hey, I don't know how – I mean, obviously, I think Jim Brown's number retired 32. I think the 00 Otto Graham's number's retired. I don't know who else is retired. Yeah. I don't know if Bobby Mitchell's number's retired. I don't even know what Bobby's number was. But it's – I don't get this, man. That man's been great. Yeah, I mean, he liked to drive fast, but other than that, he didn't have no problems on the field.
32:55No. Nuh-uh. Mm-mm. I mean, this is pointless, too. Now that he's going, all of a sudden, this comes – You want to sock the man up. Hold on. You know what you didn't hear, Ocho? The whole while he was there, you never heard this. You heard about how great he was. Mm-hmm. Now all of a sudden.
33:23That's great. Sauce Gardner says he's 24, Ocho. Not 25 is rightly listed. During a recent back and forth with reporters about his leadership role as a veteran defender, he pointed out, I'm only 24. Somewhere along the way, it became accepted as fact that Sauce was born August 31, 2000. It says as much as the number of online references, including profiles on ESPN.com, Pro Football Focus, and Yahoo Sports. But it turns out Sauce was actually born August 31, 2001. Like he said, he's 24. the coach website and NFL.com reflected the 2001 birthday. I'm trying to figure out how you miss a man birthday by a whole year.
34:13Hey.
34:24Hmm.
34:29A whole year? Hell, I mean, he's 24, 25. He's still young as hell. Yeah, he's still young. What is this? This is his fifth year? It's got to be his fifth year. Already? Yeah. Golly. Well, he had three with the Jets. Wait, no. He had four with the Jets? This would be his fifth year right here, right?
34:56Yeah, he's going to do his fifth year. Golly, time is going fast, man. Hell yeah.
35:04Hell yeah. Yeah, because remember they traded him. They gave him that big contract at the beginning of the year, and then they traded him. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So, hey, he's –
35:26I think he's going to have a bounce back season Yeah I think he got to get those injuries behind him Those lower injuries Look Cornerback from waist down is everything for a corner It's hard to do anything You got pull, hamstring, quad, groin, calf Man you ain't finesse It ain't going to work No It ain't going to work Your low extremity got to be on point Your ass and your mental As he and mental.

Hedy, she starts dating Howard Hughes, the aviation tycoon. Do you know a lot about him? I mean, I watch The Aviator, so I know everything Leonardo DiCaprio has allowed me to know about him. 38:58I know. They do get along intellectually. And in fact, she helps him design a faster plane. She takes a look at what he's designed. It's got these square wings. And she's like, that doesn't make sense. Goodbye. Did it.
39:36Joe Burrow said the vibe on this year's Bengals teams are similar to the ones that held the 2019 LSU team where he led college football to the playoff championship. You go back and watch what I said before the 2019 season at LSU. I feel very similar about this team. I'm so excited to get started and get moving. I wish we ramped this up right now into training camp so we can continue to improve. I've tried to be a little more vocal and I mean, I mean, in a mean way. I think that's a little out of my comfort zone, but that's somewhere what I'm improving. Maybe it's good, maybe it's bad, but we'll find out.
40:12Ocho? Yes, sir. How do you feel about your Bengals being compared to the 2019 LSU Tigers from Burrow? I mean, listen, only Joe would know. He was a quarterback on that team. So obviously the vibe, the aura, the atmosphere is reminiscent of that time. with him at LSU, with Justin Jefferson and Jamar chasing those boys. And obviously, I don't think he means it from an offensive standpoint. I think it means it collectively as a team. With some of the moves that they made in the offseason, I'm assuming the vibe is a little different around there at OTAs and minicamp. So I kind of trust him being that he would be the one to actually know that.
40:51And I don't want to get too excited. You know, I know we have some great players offensively and defensively. But again, on Sundays at 1 o 'clock, can we execute? Not just on offense, but can we do it on defense as well? Yeah. Hey, look, I like the Bengals, man. You know, I get Ocho problem here and there. But for the most part, I like y 'all, Ocho. I think for me, it's the defensive side of the ball. And obviously, Joe Burrow staying healthy. Yep. Clearly. You know, if he stays healthy, I think y 'all got a great chance, obviously, to do something special. So, you know, for him to feel the way he's feeling, saying it feels like that 2019 team at LSU, bro, that's saying a lot.
41:35That's saying a lot. You know what, guys? I think the thing is he says he's been meaner, and maybe that's good, maybe it's bad, and he's done this on purpose. I think that's the biggest thing. I think, you know, sometimes you're like, man, I don't need to get him. but I can honestly say, John, hey, I want to run it again. Yeah. No, we're not. No, no, no, no, no, no. Now, Mike was also like that, but we had a level of expectation because we was having a conversation, Rod and I, Foots, about we go to practice and the ball wouldn't hit the ground. We know we're going to be ready that week. But that was the expectation level.
42:19No mistakes. hey mistakes drove me crazy even my own mistakes drove me crazy cause I know better but hey I'm trying to jump the gun on you you know hey that's that I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone I'm gone but we held everybody accountable stop bull jiving that'll get a bro you can't cover that dude that dude on the practice squad that guy ain't gonna see the field right what you think that what you think they receive is gonna do yes uh guy you can't get open against this guy this guy ain't gonna play on this guy gonna be in the stands right bro get it right bro you hot how many times see now instead of running to the phone get your ass in that playbook yeah yeah Get your ass in that playbook.
43:20Training camp, Joe, if they came by training camp, because you know we had Club Shea Shea. If you busted a play, you couldn't come to Club Shea Shea. Get your ass up there and study your plays. Because my ass might end up shutting our club down because your punk ass in here and you ain't study your damn plays. Get your ass out of here. Hold on. You said when you was playing, you had Club Shea Shea? What was going on at Club Shea Shea then? They playing Madden. We rolling dice. We playing cards. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I can say it now. I ain't going to say who it was. They smoking cigarettes.
43:58Might have been our quarterback, but that ain't none of my business. Yeah. Hey, that's a good thing. Hey, look. That's a good thing for the Bengals, man. Joe asserting himself, you know, putting himself in uncomfortable situations. Obviously, you know, that's where growth occurs. Hey, Joe, also, listen to me now. Speaking of growth, speaking of him changing his mannerisms and him being a captain and a leader, this is almost like we got to have it this season. Yes. You made that statement, that cryptic statement, and we all knew what it meant, because you see the Bengals in that organization moving completely different than they've ever moved before, doing some of the things that they're not characteristic characteristic of doing in the offseason, we're going to get you some defensive players.
44:50That's up to you. Do what you need to do offensively. Stay healthy. And let's string some wins together. And make it to the playoffs this year, which I think we missed, what, the past, what, two, three years? Yeah, last couple of years. And I think the thing is, for him, is that it's okay to get on your defense. Come on, guys, let's be better. Let's be better. I mean, you're going against us. You're going against us. I'm one of the better quarterbacks. We got one of the better receiving duos. Come on now.
45:27You have to be okay not being everybody's friend, especially when it comes to practicing and trying to get better. I'll be your friend. We'll come back and reminisce with Joe. We get the championship, Joe. when we come back and really just talk about how we won this championship, we'll be friends again. And if you choose not to come back, that's okay too. Because we get that a lot. There are a lot of guys that don't come back. We have the reunion and stuff. Guys don't come back. That's okay. You grown.
46:02Never lose sight of why we're here, fellas. We're here to win. And I want to win more than anything. I want to win more than be your damn friend. I can guarantee you that. Absolutely. Hello. Hello.
46:18And, you know, we built a bond. You know, we did things. Like I said, Club Shay Shay, you know, guys come play. But if you blow and fly, what you in there for? Get your damn playbook. Right.
46:34And it comes first thing, you didn't want your plays. Mike going to ask, where were you last night? Man, I was in club. No, he wasn't in Club She-She, Mike. He'll lie. You're not going to have him be shutting down at Club She-She because you were in there when you were supposed to be studying your damn play because you want to play mad. You want to roll dice. You want to play cards. You want to drink beer. Because, you know, we'd have, you know, companies come in. They stack. We have beer stacked up to the ceiling. Yeah. Oh, we had that thing with no old Club She-She. It was like that. Yeah. Yeah, we playing music.
47:08We had it going on. Hold on, you drank beer? No, I didn't. You drank beer? But the guys did, so I just had it for them. Yeah. Yeah.
47:19Hey, man, hey, let me get it. Hey, come on in, bro. Come on. Yeah. Have a good old time. It was noisy. Nobody wanted to be on the eighth floor, because we was on the eighth floor. Making all the type of noise. Yeah. And we playing pranks on everybody. Man, I bring about six or seven tubes of toothpaste, because in the morning, I'm going to wake up in the morning and I'm going to put toothpaste on somebody's door. So when they walk out, just pull the door, because you know, ain't nobody looking. They just closed the door. Come on, Sharp. I'm laying in the bed. Man, ain't nobody do that, but Sharp.
47:53Man, I'll be like, so I go by the time I get to the cafeteria, Sharp, I'm like, man, you need to stop playing. So I said, what are you talking about? I just woke up. Nah, man, ain't nobody did that, but you stop playing. or we'll put rubbing alcohol and set it on fire? Hey, come on. Nah, man, Sean, leave us alone. Or we'll penny lock you in the room? You ever penny lock somebody in the room, Joe? Oh, Joe, Joe? Penny lock, what that mean? Yeah. You take pennies, you know, it's just enough. So you put pennies in the door so they can't open it. Either way, they can't pull it over or push it open.
48:29Oh, I ain't never seen that. I ain't neither. Man, we kept people penny locked in the room. Oh, we'll knock your peephole out. Hey, come on, man. I want to talk to you about something. Nah, Sharp, you play too much. Five things all in your room. Oh, that's messed up. Oh, man, come on. The last night, man, we did the last time we was up in Greeley. This was a 2002. I'm sorry, Harpo, I got to get you up. I said, Harpo, I need a master key. you know everybody called me Sharpie. Sharpie, what you need it for? I said, Harpo, we got to get the rookies, man. They been misbehaving. He say, after we do room check, come down and get it.
49:19So now me, Burns, about five of us, we done went, I think it was King Soopers or something, but we done got, we take all the trash cans. So we fill it up with syrup, water and flour and we cut up the pillows and dumped the feathers in there. Oh, man. Hey, about 1 o 'clock, 1.30 in the morning, them Joke asleep. Hey, I know they were. Hey, they sound asleep, Ocho and Joe. I know they were mad. What? Were they? Hey. Hey, because as a rookie, man, you're going to get gapped anyway. No matter what you do. It don't matter if you're doing everything right or if you're doing everything. They're going to get you, bro.
50:09In Baltimore, we tied them up to the goalposts, dunk water on them, put them in the cold tub. Yeah. But in Denver, oh, yeah, we got them. Man, we messed up people's computers. I'm sorry, guys. I am so sorry that we messed up your computer. Man, when they go to popcorn. But we did about 45. And all the fact, all that, because we going to get five of the steams off everybody floating. We empty those. That thing like a winter wonderland. Yeah. Hey, hey, they go get your keys out your locker while you're in practice. And they popcorn your car, Uncle Ocho. Man, you know how hard it is getting all this stuff out your car for us.
50:47Yeah, I've seen those clips. That's funny. Joe, we steal somebody's car and drive it about a mile away. Leave it running. Doors open, lights on. damn by the time practice over with that thing dead I got off easy as a rookie the most they did to me tied me to the goal post left me out there poured all the Gatorade out the practice Gatorade on top of me the water on top of me that was pretty much it and my rookie dinner I had to pay for the receivers I got off easy oh and we're going to make you late You got to be late. You got to be late for one practice, because we're going to nail your locker shut.
51:30Nail it shut. Man, come on, man. Who did this, man? Oh, man. Show them some fun days. Hey, hey. Melt snickers. We melt snickers and put them in your helmet. Oh, yeah. Baby powder in your helmet, and you be sweating. That thing. Like, man, what the? Come on, man. Man, y 'all play too. I said, bro, I don't know why everybody blame it on me. Like, I'm the only guy on the team. Man, ain't nobody but Sharp. It had to be Sharp or Burns, I bet you. Man, come on, bro. Y 'all just stopped blaming me for stuff that I did. I mean, I didn't do. Hey, hey, hey. I try to do everything right, Uncle Ocho. What you need, coffee?
52:16What you need, propolactic? What you need, newspaper? I'm bringing it all. I'm making sure I ain't missing anything. They got you, Joe. Because it was three of us as rookies. So, you know, like, if one of us ain't doing what they ask, hell, we all got to pay. Man, we came outside one day, bought them cars, was full of popcorn. I'm talking about as soon as you open the door, it comes flushing. Oh, man. I got unlucky too, Ocho, because I was the only rookie. And they didn't want to do anything. So I had a limo, had the thing, and ain't nobody show up. I'm like, thank you, Jesus. Thank you. Thank you.
52:56Thank you, Jesus. But Clinton Portis... Oh, we got Portis. Clinton Portis, Ashlyn Lee. Y 'all got CP? Did we? I know he was mad. No, he was a good sport about it. Oh, he was cool? Oh, okay, okay, okay. He was good about it. I mean, they cost him like$22 ,500. That's only about... That's it,$22 ,500. $2 ,000? $22 ,500. Well, y 'all would have had to see me out. Hey, the thing is, look, I say, look, guys, this is what we're going to do. We're not taking anything home. Because, you know, guys have started, they order steaks,$150 steaks, take home. My in-laws come in town. No, your in-laws ain't going to eat none of this.
53:43Man, them juggles, buy a$3 ,000 bottle of wine to take home. Now, if you want to drink some Rothschilders from Petrus, or if you want a shot of that King Louis, hey, what's the most expensive? because back then, that King Louie, that's all we knew. Yeah. It was like$100,$125 a shot. What? Let me get 15 shots. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Come on, man. Come on. You said that too casual. $125 for what? A shot. An ounce. Maybe two ounces. About this much. Come on, now. Come on, now. They just... Let me get 15 of those. 15? 15. Who going to pay for it? The rookie. Portis and Lalee. What? Damn. That's cold. Oh, you're going to pay for it.
54:27My car would have declined here. It wouldn't even want mine. It wouldn't have went through, Joe? Hell no. $22 ,000 when I was a rookie on my car? Bro, you first brought to pay, Joe. You got it. I ain't saying that. Oh, yeah, you got it. But I had a limit on my car and$22 ,000? It wasn't going to go through. Don't worry about it. What would have went through? Hey, Joe, what you saying? Guess what? We got it. We take out your check. Hey, Ocho. Ocho. Mine had about like a$7 ,000 to$8 ,000 limit. That was if y 'all went over that and won, won't believe. It was a wrap, huh? Yeah, and you had to get me a limo.
55:07I had to get a car by myself. I couldn't ride with nobody because I was going to leave. And when I was ready to leave, so you got to get a limo just for me. Damn, huh? You made the price go up even more. For sure. Yeah. But you know, sometimes we have rookies, they wouldn't know how to draft picks. You know, I win. I help them out. Right. But if you were the first-round draft pick, and you on a skilled position running back or wide receiver, yeah, you got it. Get all that. You know what's funny, too? What's that? You know what's tradition? All NFL teams, obviously rookies based on position, you all have rookie night, obviously the dinners.
55:50when I was a veteran, I never did it. I never made the rookie have to do anything. You didn't do? No, I ain't made them boys do nothing. I had to deal with it, Joe. I was kind of cool about it. I wasn't with the hazing. You ain't got to carry my pad. You ain't got to carry my helmet. I was cool. I was just chill. Man, I dropped my stuff right down the floor. Hey.
56:11For real? Dropped them pads right down there. Hey, bro, let me get some. Hey, give me some Gatorade. Yeah. Yeah. That was the whole part about it. So hopefully you'll be inspired to make the team. So guess what? You get your rookie. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. I was kind of cool about it. I had to get chicken, and I ain't even want no chicken. Well, that's right. I had to do Popeyes, huh? Yeah. For the receivers. I had to do Popeyes on game day as a rookie, Joe. Hey, you didn't get any games when I wasn't dressing. I still had to get Popeyes. Listen, man, I had to get coffee, donuts, and a newspaper.
56:49These folks ain't even looking at a newspaper. Hold on, hold on, Joe. Now, this is very important, man. When you go get donuts, we talking about Dunkin' Donuts or we talking about Kris Kreme? I was getting Dunkin' Donuts at the time. Nah, they had this place, I think it was called Winchell's. And they talking about they want them hot. Oh, I know about Winchell's, huh? I know about Winchell's. Yeah, I think that was the name of it, Ocho. And Joe, they talking about they want them hot. And they wanted six glaze. And they wanted with jelly donuts. And they want... I said, come on, man. Damn. Hey.
57:17and they want breakfast sandwich they got this spot, they got breakfast sandwich I want bacon egg and cheese I want sausage egg and cheese well I want mine on a you be late for that plane if you want to man please, but I wanted to fight these dudes for real, and I know they couldn't beat me I wanted to fight these end words for real and then I was just like you know what, I ain't gonna lie week eight or week nine, I just told her, I said, I ain't bringing no more donuts. You said that? I said, I ain't bringing no more donuts. They said, all right, you know what's going to happen. I said, okay.
58:00If anybody's knowing y 'all, because they're going to cut me, I said, I'm going to whip every last one of y 'all. Did you bring them? No, I was done. They weren't even eating them. Okay. First of all, I'm a seventh round draft pick, Ocho. I ain't got no bread like that. I'm buying all this stuff. And when I leave, you know, I sit them in the guy's locker. And they still, I mean, somebody might eat one donut. Somebody might eat, you know, one breakfast sandwich or two breakfast sandwiches. I done bought seven, eight. Nah. They didn't want you to put the work in. They just want you, hey, they just want you, they just want to put your hands to work.
58:36I'm having to get up early. Hey, they wasting your money, huh? That's okay. Hey, hey, hey, not only that, You got to leave practice early on days. We finna fly out. You got to leave practice early because you got to go get all these sandwiches. Thank you, Joe. Thank you. Subways. Boy, you going to be late. We calling you. You ain't got about 10 minutes, boy. You pulling up sweating like I don't know what. Yeah. Somebody want Popeye's. Somebody want Kentucky Fried Chicken. Somebody want Burger King. I mean, why can't you just go get Popeye's? And everybody get it right. I want spicy. I want mild.
59:11Man. I'm done that's crazy that's how it happened that's crazy so that was the end of that I did it for as long as I could I'd have kept doing it if they were eating the sandwiches I'd have kept buying them no problem but nah y 'all not eating them and then you know the D linemen eating them and the offensive linemen eating them nah I said hey well I guess that's an ass cut I'm gonna have to take but I tell you what two of y 'all gonna get effed up I promise you that. Did they complain? What are they going to do? I told them, whatever y 'all want to do. Right. Oh, damn. They gave me the name. You know, they gave me the name Big Greasy for a reason.
59:56Yeah. Big Greasy.
1:00:02Hey, hey, I would have had a jump on you, boy. I would have had a jump on you, boy. Like a chicken on a jimmy, boy. Nah. I got into it one time. For real? Yeah, me and CK. Because I was a rookie. Because when they moved me to tight end, obviously I had to go into the tight end room. CK was a vet. CK sat behind me. And every day, you know, I don't want to cause no trouble. My grandma said, boy, I don't send you nowhere. You know how to behave. You know how to act. Yes, sir. CK kept knocking my... So I have all my thing out. So I'm trying to take notes. So I have my notebook out. Man, it ain't worth y 'all like to make me say this ninja would like kick the book and all my papers fired.
1:00:48So, you know, I got to rearrange them. Right. And so I thought, okay, it's a rookie. I'm a rookie. Okay, I'm going to eat this couple of times.
