Key claims

  • Police allege Arnold orchestrated an armed robbery/kidnapping tied to an Airbnb dispute; victims were allegedly lured, beaten, robbed, and forced into their vehicles; the attack was allegedly live-streamed and directed via group chat; Arnold’s PR person “categorically denies” it.
  • CJ2K (Chris Johnson) announced ALS at age 39; he is no longer verbal and uses an eye-controlled speech device.

Notable examples

  • The hosts compare the Arnold allegations to an OJ/Las Vegas-style memorabilia incident.
  • They reference Steve Gleason (ALS) and “Juice” (O.J. Brigance) as personal/football-related ALS examples.

3:51Lions cornerback, Aaron Arnold, is facing multiple felony charges after he was arrested in Tampa, Florida, in connection with a robbery and kidnapping early in February. Police say Arnold reportedly orchestrated an armed robbery and kidnapping after believing several people had stolen property from an Airbnb he rented, even though investigators later determined the victims had nothing to do with the theft. According to police, two women allegedly lured the victim to a Tampa apartment where two armed suspects hiding in the closet jumped out, held them at gunpoint, beat them and robbed them. Investigators say the attack was live-streamed to Arnold, who allegedly gave directions through a group chat before arriving at the apartment while the robbery was still underway.

4:40Police say the victims later were forced into their own vehicles at gunpoint before being released. Man, boy, they took something from T.A.? But T.A. to turn into John Gotti out there, huh? Oh, Joe. Let's just say for the sake of argument. Joe, for this discussion let's just say they had taken it it's insured well we're not sure if it's insured because if it was insured it should be stolen if you got$250 ,000 worth of anything Ocho it is not insured if it's jewelry if it's necklaces, watches rings, automobiles whatever the case is, you're a bigger damn... That's a bigger problem. But let's just say for the sake of argument, Joe,

5:37you're in the NFL, guys. Joe, you're professional. Joe, stop. See, this is the problem. Keeping it real. Stop keeping it real. You cannot keep it real anymore when you make millions of dollars. You worked your entire life to get in this situation. Why do you need to keep it real? Listen, oh, my goodness. Some cats being disrespected and violated, bro, they don't know no other way. You know what I mean? I understand what you're saying, but some cats, that's just a reaction. It's like, damn, hold on. Them folks on the stove for me. They didn't disrespect me. They done violated me to the utmost degree.

6:23some cats bro they don't rationalize like that like you know what I mean they think straight hey boom let me make this play real quick they got me bent you feel me yes Joe Ocho the authorities say the people that he tied up and beat didn't even do it hey you know what also when it comes to NFL players you know I love T.A. Mandelette and I'm upset at him, I'm disappointed at him for even putting himself in this situation but if he doesn't have a level head, if there's something that got stolen from him, the people around him, his entourage somebody got to be the brains somebody else has to be the brains because when the thought or emotion is hot the solution when the solution was to even think about doing this, whoever came with the master plan, that should be like, nah, we ain't doing that.

7:26Hell, that was him. Joe, Ocho, this is how I'm thinking. If I got homeboys that are willing to do that, I got to let them go. Because it's only a matter of time. I ain't going to be able to control them. Because if they'll do that, they'll do that without being prompted by me. And if they're in my circle, who's getting to? the people like that they're around you joe you're responsible for them oh joe you're responsible for them yeah if somebody i can't i can't have somebody around me that'll do stuff but to go get the strap and to rob somebody and to tie them up if if what's being reported it's true yeah they say this happened in february so this was a long investigation remember mark yeah april May.

8:12Here we are in late June. So basically four months. They've done their due diligence, but here's the thing, Ocho. Yeah. When you got the most to lose, you got to be the most logical. Because when they get pinched, I tell you what, of all those people in that gambling incident, who did they walk out? They named a lot of names. Yeah. Who did they walk out? the ones we know so when the rubber needs to meet the road they don't want no how many times you ever seen somebody hold up a perch a bluegill a crappie they hold up trophy fishes so in this situation who the trophy T.A. I just I hate that you know look we make mistakes we all you know we we put ourselves in situation and like lord i i just hope i hate i hope for the sake of argument this isn't true through his pr person they said he categorically denies this and i hope i hope this is a big misunderstanding lord i hope this young man with so much promise in front of him.

9:31I just... I mean... When did Ocho, a professional athlete, allegedly order somebody to get tied up and robbed? Hey, huh? And then potentially live-streamed it so he could see it and then he came. They don't tell me but one thing. He young. He ain't know no better, bro. You know, I'm telling you, he looking at it from a standpoint that, man, I done put X, Y, Z amount of money up in this Airbnb. You mean to tell me they done came and stole it? Oh, hell no. Hell no. He trying to get his stuff back. He wasn't trying to hear all that. It's crazy. That was a very similar situation, Reston. So OJ did the same thing out in Vegas.

10:23Remember, allegedly, he was told that they had memorabilia of his and they were trying to sell it. and he ran in there. And what happened? They told on him. Yeah. The only difference is he happened to be, he showed up with the food. He up there, they got him listening. Hey, hey, don't let him out of here. Hold him. I just, man, I hate this young man putting himself in this situation if this is true. I really do. Guys, bro, get that stuff insured. If you want to have, look, everybody wants to, You know, guys want to have nice chains, Ochoa and jewelry. Yeah. I've been there. Had my stuff, you know, and got it taken.

11:07And you feel violated, Joe. You know, Joe, you had stuff to be broken into your house. You feel violated. Yeah. You really do. Yeah. You really, really do. And I was like, man, if I knew who did this, I'd probably, woo, woo, I want to do something bad to him. Man. Because, man, you worked so hard. And when you come up like a lot of us came up not having and to work so hard to get something and just somebody just come take it. I'm telling you, bro. Hey, you really don't know how you react, especially if you do know who the people are who done it. You really don't, bro. Real talk, man. I'm talking about, hey, man.

11:49I mean, that's violation to the worst degree, bro. Imagine you come home. I'm talking about every mattress in your house flipped over. You know, it's mattress in the hallway. You're like, what the hell? Somebody refurnishing it? I'm talking about that type of break-in. Crazy, Joe. It's hard to sleep at night behind. Hey, Joe, I came home and I looked, I was like, and I saw stuff. I was like, well, damn, was it an earthquake? I mean, but I was in the area. I would have found an earthquake because earthquake did the same thing. knocked stuff over and stuff was broken. And I'm like... And then I looked and I was like, well, damn.

12:28Where are my watches? Oh, damn. My heart just started beating fast.

12:37Because at first, I didn't know. At first, I went upstairs. I got Titus. No. Was it Titus? Yeah, Titus. Because I had got Titus. I let him out. I got the little ones. I let them out. so I'm just letting them out I'm not even thinking anything about it everything is normal downstairs because I had the little ones downstairs in the kennels so I'm not thinking anything everything looks normal when I get in the house and I remember going up to my bedroom and I'm like where all this glass come from

13:15like man where my watch is I had a Christopher backpack I was like well damn where my backpack so now I go back down to the truck cause I'm thinking well maybe I left it in my truck but I know I never leave it in the truck cause that's the last thing I don't want somebody to be able to just you know ease access to stuff so I was like you know if you think you lost something you're looking for stuff well you know you man where my watch let me look in the refrigerator let me look in the oven man you know damn well you ain't leaving no watch you know damn refrigerator in the oven got you looking with your place you know you ain't left you.

13:49Then it dawned on me. I've been robbed. Yeah. I said, man, I've been robbed. Yeah. That's crazy. I'll try to call Shelly. I just called 911, 911, what is your emergency? I'm like, ma 'am, I'd like to report a break in here.

14:17they're like are they still there? I was like nah I'd be having a very difficult call if they were. This would be a very different call if they were still here man. I was like my jury's gone. Man I waited I waited like it took us like two hours because if it's not an injury it's not an emergency they don't deem a robbery as an emergency so they're not it's not like if you know is anybody injured something like that i started lying i said yeah but then they end up getting me for lying so i was like nah nobody's injured man i was like man and i just remember sitting on my bed just looking at the glass on the floor i was like damn that's one of the worst feelings in the world man it was oh man i said all my watches man I said, man, 30 plus years gone.

15:08Damn. And I had everything, you know, cuff legs. Man, I had work. Man, I was just so distraught. I was just so distraught. That's a violation, bro. That's a violation you feel. I'm talking about like it don't get no lower than that, bro. You come home and your stuff ramshack like that? Man. Hey, Joe. I'm going to come on and pay you a little visit to down there. Damn, Joe. That man say he knows it's a violation, but he can't help himself, Joe. I want to make sure y 'all want you home, too. I ain't going to wait for you home. I bet he get his ass chewed by this big-ass dog I got over there, too.

15:48I bet that. Two of them. I got two of them. I bet that. I guarantee that. I guarantee you when they find you, damn, boy, somebody chewed up on you. You all right? If they can find me, that's the problem. Yeah, okay. You're right. You're right. I got something for them dogs, ammonia. Put them right to sleep. They'll be asleep for about 30 minutes. Nah, that don't work with them. Hey, I want that car collection you got. Oh, you got a car? Yeah, I forgot Joe got them cars. He might have some real pullers up in there, Ocho. Hey, Chad, Chad, Chad, that's why you can't tell people what you got going on.

16:25See how they do. They'll turn around and use it on you. You know what I'm talking about, Chad? Chad, pay attention now. What y 'all was talking about? What you on? Now I'm talking about the card collection you said you had. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a nice little card collection. Hey, guess what? Guess what else I got? I got a nice little gun collection, too. Joe, who do you think about shooting? Well, I really don't want to have to use it like that. I like to go to the range, you know what I mean, do my thing. But I really don't want to have to, you know what I mean? I ain't no killer, but don't push it.

16:58Joe said, this is the only of time that I'm practicing that I don't really want to play the game. There you go. I understand what you're saying, but sometimes, sometimes, certain situations, you ain't got no choice but to react. I know, but I hope like hell I don't have to use it. You know what I mean? I don't want to have to use it on nobody. I'll try. I'll go to the range, give me some shots off, you know what I mean? You know, make sure my aim is still accurate. You know what I'm saying? I hope it's accurate too. Yeah, you know, I'll be going to the range and the shots I'll be getting off, they'll be hitting dead center.

17:30Yeah, what's What you shooting over now? You know, I'm fixed. Now ain't nothing going on. I'm shooting blanks. Feel what I'm talking about? Feel what I'm talking about? Feel what I'm talking about? Joe, you walk me to that one, Joe. You got me, Joe. You set me up. You set me up. Okay, Joe. He hit that one out the park, bro. Yeah, Joe set me up. Joe set me up. You good with it, Joe. You good now, Joe. Okay? You sure you wasn't a point guard? Because you can orchestrate that thing, Joe. Hey, hey, hey, boy. Hey, hey. I know how you're an Ojo move, boy. I don't even put my name in that stuff, man.

18:07Man, see, here you go. The folks that I already said you want. Them people in the chat don't know. Man, I grew up in a church. I ain't nothing like what they think. Hell, them be the worst ones. Yeah. Yeah, that's why I grew up in the church. Yeah, y 'all be the worst ones. Yeah. Preacher, daughter, cop, son. Boy, that's a mess. up there playing Deacon. Yeah. Man, the foes are already on to you, bro. They know what's going on. Hell no, that's a good one. Damn, bro. I hope this ain't true, Ocho. I really do, man. I really do. I hope this is a big misunderstanding. Nah, nah. One of them is a misunderstanding about you taking something that didn't belong to you.

18:58After four months. I hope T.A. pulled this one off, man. Get up out of this, man. I sure hope so. Fix whatever you need to fix. Mm-mm-mm. Oh, man. Lord have mercy. I turned off news altogether. I hate to say it, but I don't trust much of anything. It's the rage bait. It feels like it's trying to divide people. If we got clear facts, maybe we can calm down a little. 23:42Oh, Joe, why won't this man stop? This you got. Brandon and I posted a video announcing he's back on tour and that ticket to come see him can be found on the Washington Commanders website. He also posted a video of him in his closet tossing a bunch of money on the ground. There's another reminder that the 49ers money he's made from them. What's going on, bro? Ocho, Ocho, Ocho, Ocho, the wide receiver. He's our resident wide receiver expert. He can speak wide receiver. Yeah, he the wide receiver whisperer. Hey, Uncle, there's certain things. I was crazy when I played, but there's certain lines even I know not to cross.

24:23I understand that I have respect for the game. I have respect for, obviously, the organizations. Sometimes you don't always see eye to eye when it comes to the business side of things, Uncle Joe. But, I mean, B.A. is B.A. You know, he's going the route he feels necessary. something has happened to him that has him reacting like this uncle joe chat you know um do do do i support it no do i understand it yes in a sense because i don't know what's going on behind closed door that has him acting out the way he is i i just understand the small window of opportunity that this game gives us um i understand the small opportunity window joe yes it's very small and it goes by really fast.

25:11I just want B to take advantage of that small window and maximize on as much money as he can and as much success on the field as he can. Because this game, they will move on without you. They move on. And they won't mess a beat. Hey, but man, listen. Y 'all know, bro. This type of behavior, man, it don't help us. It doesn't. It don't help us, man. And see, us, we're the only group that one individual, it reflects negatively on all of us. All of us. Yeah. We're the only group of people that one individual, what one individual does, reflect negatively on all of us. Ocho, you can be somewhere. Yeah.

25:55And we see somebody of our color and they be acting up and our skin starts to crawl. You're like, Lord, have mercy. Yeah. Jesus Christ. Why are we doing this, man? Damn, Lord. and it's like they hold that against us they'll use that why this is why we can't pay him because you see what Brandon Ayute did you see what this guy did you see bro other people act up and one person doesn't reflect negatively on an entire race we're the only race that that happens to I just man I just feel so I just like man I mean I was at the DMV in Atlanta man and And, you know, I went in, I got the parking spot, and this guy was about to pull in.

26:47And you see the guy, he got a thing on. He's just waiting for the person to pull out. So the person backs out and pulls, and the car shoots in. Oh, God have mercy. And the dude said, man, you know, blah, blah, blah. You know I was going to that spot. And the dude was arguing back and forth. and I was like, man, come on, let that go. Then his lady chided me in. He done died down. Then his lady, and I'm like... She amped it back up, huh? He said, my man, your lady gonna get you, hey, gonna get you burnt, burnt. I said, bro, come on, bro, we don't need that. So I leave, because I was like, bro, come on.

27:26But anyway, he's like, shop, he's like, yeah, hey, I'll be watching you up, man. Hey, man, you be killing skills, man. You be fighting in the bulls. I said, yeah, come on. So, yo, I go in the place. The lady's like, you, yeah, come on. She said, hey, come on, just don't worry about it. You be next. I said, okay. They come in. They still going. 28:11Shut up. I said, I tell you, man, do what I'm going to do, man. Hey, check this out. I'm going to go up here. I said, hey, can you get... I said, we're going to get a thing. I said, me and you going to take this picture. We're going to bone on out. He said, man, you going to do that? Yeah, come on. But I know how it looks. and I just even, it doesn't matter where we are. I'm always trying to diffuse a situation, especially, hey, I'm sorry. If you don't want to go like that, I'll keep going walking. But if it's us, I'm trying to diffuse it at all costs. Whatever it takes. That's just the way I am because I know how negatively it impacts how it looks.

28:54I just, man, I'm like, man.

28:59man, Lord have mercy come on Brad, come on B.A. hey, you know what the one thing I don't

29:09Unc, you was good to the game Joe, you was good to the game and the game is going to always be good to you when you no longer playing and the most important thing in life always, this is for everybody in the chat is the relationships you build along the way you never want to burn no bridges because you never know when you got to cross that bridge again you never know I don't know man I don't have BA's number personally because I would have been wanting to reach out to him and there's other ways to go about this let's not do it that way I'm a firm believer in that I've always tried to treat people well because every coach that's on your team, they're not going to be on your team always.

30:02What if they go somewhere else? Then that's an opportunity. You see a lot of times coaches, when they get jobs, they'll always bring one or two players from the team that they came from. Yep. Hey, that could be me. That could be me. Hello. That's how I look at it. And I've had great relationships. Look, we already know that Mike Shanahan, they talk about the Sean McVay, but Sean McVay was on the staff with Kyle and Mike when he was in Washington. Raheem Morse was on that staff. Mike McDaniel was on that staff. Go back and look at all that staff. They spread out through the league. Yeah. You never know.

30:48The guy that runs the whole Broncos organization, what they eat, when they eat. Obviously, the coaches said, where are they going to stay? Chip Conway. Chip Conway started out in the mailroom in 1993. Now he runs the entire Broncos. When I hit Chip, hey, Chip, man, I need a couple t-shirts. Chip, I need a helmet. Chip, I need some Bronco glasses. First thing, as soon as I call, he see my name pop up. Sharpie, what you need?

31:17I said, Chip, how you know I need something? He said, Sharpie, you on the carpet when you need something, what you need. But it was always, you know, when it came Christmas time, always tip the guys. Always gave a nice bonus. Yeah. I mean, I ended up giving, you know, with the video crew, the training staff, the equipment crew, the mail crew. I mean, I probably was giving$15 ,000,$20 ,000 bonuses. Ooh. Yeah. That wasn't making no money back then. Now he running the whole Bronco thing. Same thing with Flip. Flip did in the equipment room. Flip started out. Hey, Flip, I need a Bronco helmet. Them new helmets they got.

32:03Hey, Flip, get your boy one. Put 84 on the back of it. No problem, Sharpie. Man, it's the same thing. I don't know. I don't really know the equipment people now. Ed O used to be the equipment guy that just borrowed the board. But when he was there, same thing, man. You got to treat. You don't know. Just because you're here today, that don't mean you're going to be here tomorrow. Oh, no. You might be here. And the person that was here, when you was here, and he was here, and you treated him bad, he might, whoop. See? Yep. You never know. You might need him one day.

32:48that's just that's that's how i am i just mad i just like i said i just i i hopefully you know somebody can get to him ojo and joe put a bug in it and say man this is not the way to handle the situation i understand that you're not happy with the 49ers and you want to get out excuse me but this is not the right way no sir because you know ojo hey first of all they already boarded the guaranteed all the guaranteed money that he was going to be a get that he was supposed to get moving forward. They're bored of that. And look, and what I was telling you and Ocho, man, if I'm another team, I mean, damn, do I want to deal with this, bro?

33:29Like, think about that. Like, I'm not sure, I'm not sure if, if, if I, you was thinking about that, bro, like any team that, that's willing to invest in you, they probably going to be thinking like, damn, at some point, they probably going to be like that. What else? I'm a, I don't know how y 'all think about this, but I don't care how fine a lady is. If you call the cops, if I know that you call the cops on somebody, you think I'm about to deal with you? Yeah, I'm not. You call the cops. You get mad at him and call the cops, what's going to stop if you get mad at me doing the same thing? I'm good.

34:05Not just me. Hey, somebody like, I'm not saying, I'm saying, obviously there are certain times that women, because y 'all know how y 'all like the twist thing. Let me clarify this. There are times that women should call the cops, but there are times and situations that sometimes your emotions get the best of you, and you call the cops out of frustration, and then you sit back and you analyze, and you're like, man, I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry I put you in a bad spot. But it's too late. Somebody might lose their job. Somebody get cut. Somebody, you know, X, Y, and Z. There are times that the cops should be called, and And I'm not saying women that if you feel like you've been threatened, but you make sure you understand the ramifications that comes along with action, because every action there is a reaction.

34:53So let me just clarify that, because I know social media, how y 'all just take everything and just take it out of context and just run with it. because we got we have to be very specific now we have to be because a lot of people understand what i'm talking about but there'll be one or two that are clipping and won't provide context to what i'm saying i'm saying in a certain in certain situation that sometimes you just well uh he did x y and z and it wasn't that situation where he didn't come home late at night you mad or you find out he got a new girl yeah it's a foolishness like that obviously Like I said, that's the type of situation I'm saying that doesn't warrant the cops being called because you find out he's seeing somebody else or he went out of the country with somebody else or he sent somebody else some money.

35:42He bought somebody a car. That ain't a reason to call the cops. I turned off news altogether. I hate to say it, but I don't trust much of anything. It's the rage bait. It feels like it's trying to divide people. If we got clear facts, maybe we can calm down a little. NBC News brings you clear reporting. Let's meet at the facts. Let's move forward from there. 40:16Sad news today, guys. I know you've all heard about it by now. Former Titans running back Chris Johnson, a.k.a. CJ2K, announced on Good Morning America that he has been diagnosed with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, at the age of 39. Johnson, who's no longer verbal due to the progression of ALS, spoke to Michael Strahan using speech-generated device controlled by his eyes. Johnson was able to record his voice so that the computer sounds just like him when he speaks. It's continued to progress much faster than I ever imagined. I want people to understand just how quickly ALS can attack your body.

40:55Just over a year ago, I was picking up my 7-year-old daughter so she could make a wish on a birthday cake. today I couldn't do that Johnson added that many people don't realize that with ALS your mind is still still stays sharp people sometimes look at the physical disability and assume you're not the same person inside I think I still think the same I still dream I still love my family my body just doesn't cooperate man just broke my heart yeah that one hurt I had a former teammate. Yes. O.J. Brigance. I don't know if he played with me in Baltimore, Joe Inocho. We call him Juice. And, man, I think Juice is still around.

41:46But I think Juice might have had this. He might have been dealing with it for about 15 years. It's normally quick. It's normally. Anyway, the punter from what you call him, remember the guy from New Orleans, Ocho? The one that blocked the kick with Katrina at the Falcons? Yeah. He has it. He has Steve Gleason. Mm-hmm. Man, he said just a year ago and just like that. But he says he going to fight. I mean, obviously, you know, he's in clinical trials, tried a lot of different drugs, and I heard the lady was speaking saying it's helped some, but...

42:32Damn, man. Listening to him talk, he said, the doctor said, get your fares in the car.

42:46That's crazy. Hey, I've been there, boy. I'm telling you, Uncle Ojo,

42:57I've been there, bro Hey, hey Took my mom to the hospital On Christmas Thinking it was gonna be a quick checkup Hell, she didn't get out of there until February And Doc told us that Told us to our face Me and her He said, hey She won't make it another six months Hell, he knew it was gonna be a lot damn sooner than that. You feel what I'm saying? And think about it, just to go from walking around, talking, cooking, having a good time, holding her grandchild to couldn't, I'm talking about to her bed rest, couldn't move, nothing but her eyes, bro. Damn. I seen it, bro. I know what it looked like.

43:42You said she had cancer? Yeah, she had multiple myeloma, yeah. It just, and they break you down. Like, she lost weight so quick. Next thing you know, like, it'll people come by the house, She was like, tell them I'm asleep. She wouldn't want to see nobody. She didn't want nobody to see her like that. I'm talking about it could be people who she grew up with, who've been with her the whole night. Outside of me, my grandmother, and my uncles. Man, listen. Hey, bro, that's hard, bro. Hey, when I seen that today, bro, I seen that, I was like, wow. It is 39. 39 years old damn life is precious bro it is man and when that doctor when that doctor cause he told my sister he said the same thing about my grandma he told my sister he said you have everything in order cause it's not gonna be very many more times Miss Sharp we're gonna call you but the thing is Ocho They know it.

44:52My friend, that man came in there. Because, you know, he always up. You know, they want to be upbeat. They want to keep you in a positive frame of mind. He said, how you doing today, Ms. Porter? She said, I ain't doing good. I'm fine. Just like that.

45:09Just like that. I mean, he came in there happy. Ms. Porter, how you doing? It's so good to see you. How we doing today? She told him, just like that, Ocho. She said, I ain't doing good. I'm dying. He said, Miss Porter, don't say that. Libby said, Granny, don't talk like that. She said, yeah, I'm dying. I know. Just like that. Yeah. Hey, man, that's exactly how it is, bro. I'm telling you. I know what you're talking about, aunt. My mama looked me dead in my eyes and she asked me, am I dying? Hell, I knew she was. I couldn't tell her, yeah. Hey, I know exactly what you mean, boy. Yes! And you know, she's always been strong.

45:55I ain't really seen my, when my grandfather died, Granny didn't cry. So she got to be strong, so I got to be strong for her. I can't cry. That's where the term came from. She said, boy, we all got an appointment. We can't reschedule. We all got to do it, son. I just dropped my head.

46:19Man

46:25Because like I said I'm a baby She always called me that's what she called me My mama comes That's my baby She said I had him she said so that's my baby And she was in Classton hospital And I had told Libby I said Libby going home I'll stay I got it from here Libby had already got me a room at the motel. I could walk, but I drove. It's like two minutes. It's right there on 301. So she wanted a shrimp dinner. I said, well, I said, Libby, where do we go get a shrimp dinner place? She said, it's the place right up there. It's right down there from such and such. Okay, I went and got a shrimp dinner.

47:06I said, you know, I said, Granny, these people know you eating shrimp in here? She's talking about it's better than the food they be giving me. The food they give me is killing me. I said, I said, I said, the food they be killing you. She said, boy, I want a shrimp dinner. I want some of them old, what they call them? What they call them, Libby? Them old corn dog. Yeah. So I go get a hush pup. I said, but Libby, go ahead and go. I let Libby go home. Cause Libby was there every day. From the time my grandmother went to Glenville hospital, Even when she went to Claxton to have stuff done, my sister was right there with her.

47:47So I told Libby, let Libby go. Man, Ocho. So I said, well, I said, I'm going to stay until she go to sleep. Right. Every time I moved, Grady would wake up. Where you going? I said, well, I was going to go. She's like, nah, baby, don't go. I stayed alone. I mean, man, I'm sitting in that chair, man. I was like, oh, my back killing me. So I waited. I let her get into a deep, deep, deep sleep. It was probably like 1 o 'clock before I got up out of there. Left, came back. When I came back that morning, I barely beat Libby in the room. She talking about, where you been? You must have been waiting. I don't know.

48:36I did. I did. I did. but man man Joe they know they know and you know I'm just like you said you know just be positive try to keep it a positive frame of mind but my grandma had done made peace that's the hardest thing boy that's it when they make peace with it and I have it my grandma said boy I done lived a great life I done raise my kids rage you you three yeah she's like baby we all gotta do it we all gotta do it son great i want you to know that ain't easy by no man oh yeah i don't i don't care if she to be 125. Right. I still wasn't ready to let her go. Yeah.

49:36And your mom, my grandma is like your mom, Joe. Your mom thought you hung the moon. Yep.

49:49Well, many nights, boy. Hey. Ooh. I just feel so bad for the man. He got, what, four kids? I think he got four kids, Ocho? Yeah, three. Yeah, because he has a daughter. No, I think three. He got three? Yeah, two twins and a daughter. Two sons, two boys. 39, man. Yeah. That man, 39 years young. That's crazy. That's crazy.

50:26look some it happens quick I've seen guys have it and within two years they're gone and like I said I think Steve Gleason is still alive and he's had it for at least 15 years old Juice has had it for at least that long look yeah he said it's taking control his mind is still sharp he knows who he is he's just trapped inside that body and can't do anything physically that's the hardest thing

50:58when you've been mobile guys see somebody that's that's never that's never had the ability to see they don't know what they're missing not seeing anything because they've never someone that's not been able to walk or someone that's born without arms they don't know what they're missing because they never had it but to have it and to not

51:25Yeah, it's tough, bro And for his kids to see him like this Like you said, I mean A picture of health So, you know, just My grip strength wasn't what it was You know, drop stuff You don't think You know, hey, getting old, it's a sign of getting old My grandma used to have Hey, boy, open this one, you granny You know, jock whatever it is.

51:55Damn. Chris.

52:00Man. I hate to even think about that, bro. I ain't gonna lie, I couldn't even watch the whole thing. Because when it said, I'm like, thinking about it, Ochoa, so I'm hearing I'm like well damn he talking and then I look closer I'm like no he's not talking yeah I was like man it's a year he says it's been a year yeah

52:45My grandma used to say all the time, boy, you think we got it bad, but some of you got it worse. Every time. It puts everything into perspective. You think she just trying to, you should just, you think people when they say that, they just trying to make you, you know. No, that's true. that is one no matter what you're going through somebody is going through something much worse that doesn't make your situation that doesn't make your situation that is not important that you're not going through something but whatever you think you're going through I promise you somebody's going through something much worse yep

53:29we all just want to help and to be able to not be a joke, you couldn't help your mom, I couldn't help granny, his family can't help him. It's in God's hands now. All he can do is just state, hey, I want to live another day. I want to fight another day. I don't know, maybe five years, ten years, fifteen years from now, they'll find a cure. Or at least something to slow down the effects of it. Maybe. But you do realize there ain't no money in cures. Money's in treatment. I can't... Why would I want to cure you from an addiction? I treat you and get money longer.

54:19Even if they found a cure, the big drug companies will kill it. Yep. They'll hurt their pockets.

54:28Damn, CJ.

54:48I guess all we can do now is pray. That's it. That's it.

54:54That's it, man. Hey, hey. And thank him. Thank him. We just ask God to let his will be done.

55:07Mm-mm.

55:22Ooh.

55:28I don't even know what to say, Ocho. I don't know what to do. Ain't nothing we can do with all of our thoughts and prayers. Hey, listen, you know how I get. I'm trying to keep quiet. I ain't doing no crying at night. I ain't doing no crying at night.

55:46Because I remember when I would go back into Baltimore and the Ravens took care of Judah's care. So he had an office at the Ravens facility. They would come pick him up at his house, have a car pick him up, and bring him to the facility every day. Juice had an office there.

56:10And, you know, obviously his wife. Juice, you know who this is? She was asking, O.J., you know who this is? Through the computer, just like, man, that's Shay. Good to see you. Man, it's just, man, it broke my, because he was such a fun-loving guy. never had a bad word to say about it anyway. But go back and look at that Super Bowl. OJ made like the first four or five tackles on the special teams.

On the day I decided to enroll in the nursing program at Rasmussen University, it was afternoon, my 35th birthday. I was hanging out with a friend, and they had just questioned me what I was going to do with this next chapter of my life. I immediately said, I want to go to nursing school. So I actually had contact information from an advisor at Rasmussen, contacted her, and actually ended up starting like three weeks later. My name is Cherish Adams, and I'm a Rasmussen University graduate.
