In short
NFL offseason and training-camp news roundup (“Best of NFL News Part 1”): trouble in Dallas and Dak Prescott frustration; Jerry Jones possibly selling ownership; Browns QB1 battle; and Aaron Donald’s return to the Rams.
Guests/backgrounds
Ocho (former NFL player/analyst voice) and Uncle Joe (sports commentator). They debate contracts, cap implications, and quarterback competitions, using examples from past NFL teams and players.
Key claims
- Cowboys offense is a “juggernaut,” but the Achilles heel is defense/pass rush; they need another pass rusher.
- Dak’s patience is wearing thin; Cowboys must avoid repeating past playoff/home collapses.
- Jerry Jones is open to selling ownership shares externally (compared to Mark Cuban), but the price is likely too high.
- Browns: Deshaun Watson took first-team reps and had a strong practice (17/20, 7 TD, 0 INT), but the job is still “his to lose,” with Shadour Sanders still viewed as a real alternative.
- Aaron Donald worked out for the Rams in helmet-only, using team equipment; it’s framed as a “tryout,” and he’s expected to return.
Notable examples
Cowboys past playoff beatdowns (Green Bay, Rams); contract/cap comparisons for CeeDee Lamb and Dak; references to Deshaun Watson’s 2020 form; Steelers linebacker history (James Harrison); Rams “window” for another ring with Miles Garrett and Stafford.

2:42Uh-oh. Dak Prescott's patience is wearing thin with the Cowboys. Going into year 11, I'm not going to shy away from it. When you don't have it, it sucks. When you don't get to play for it. When you're watching other teams in the playoffs, like there's nothing worse than that. Why shy away from it now? Why shy away from people asking and holding me to the same standard that I believe I can accomplish and the team can accomplish? Oh, Joe, what's really going on? Hey, hey, hey. I like that. I like that. I like it too. Talk your junk, Jack. I like it too. Don't shy away from it. But at the same time, we get in that damn same position we was in when Green Bay came in our house and put up.
3:2148. 47. Come on, man. 47, Joe. Green Bay did it to you. Aaron Rodgers did it to you. And then the Rams did it to you. Everybody just beat y 'all down, though, Joe. All right, that's enough. Not too much. Not too much. Not too much. Not too much. Hey, Joe, can I tell you something, Joe? I like the Cowboys. You hear me? I ain't got no problem with the Cowboys. Now I know I made fun and I was kind of upset that I knew they was going to play games with NBA, NFL young boy and not really give him his money, make him prove himself again, which is obviously, to me, all that is is the ownership saying, we don't believe you can do it again, and we don't trust you to give you what we think you're worthy of long-term.
4:02Boom, whatever. He signed it. He's going to play. He's going to repeat it again. The Achilles heel for the Cowboys, and the only issue the Cowboys are going to have is what are they going to do on defense? Offensively, they're a juggernaut. They're going to be straight. As long as CeeDee stay healthy and Pickett stay healthy, you have a very, very good running back, and Dak can get it done. for them it's going to be defense what are we going to do defensively can't for one can we stop the run no joe ocho i think the thing is jerry said that he has a they got an opportunity now he was talking about the uh max crosby yeah and they said well why didn't you revisit it jerry said who said we didn't oh now the reports are that he has a tree there there he's talking to a team about he didn't say offensively he didn't say defensively i think they're loaded on offense.
4:51I think they have enough offensively. I think defensively, they can definitely use another pass rusher. I heard the problem that I believe they're going to have, even if it's not during the season. How you pay pick$43 million and C.D. Lamb is your number one in making$34 million? Man, listen. You know that's going to be the problem, Mocho. You already know it. Yeah, and listen, it's a good problem to have. It's a good problem to have. I just don't see how it's going to happen. Somebody's going to be upset. That's my point with him signing in Dallas. I'm not saying he's not going to get his money, but it's just going to be hard to give him.
5:29And now, Joe, the problem that the Cowboys are going to run into is that you made him play that one year on that franchise tag. So he's not going to give you a discount now because you put him in harm's way. You made him swim in shark-infested waters. You made him walk across the Savannah with the Lions. Yeah. So now I got to tax you. So now there's a 20 % tax on what I would have made on top of that. Hey, I agree. I agree. What year is C.D. Lamb in his contract? When did his contract go, Ocho? He signed a four-year extension. So he probably, what, two years into it, Joe? Ocho? If you signed a four-year extension, I think he signed four years, which means he had two years still left.
6:15So basically, it was a six-year deal. So normally after the three years, they tear it up because you start getting to the back where they ain't no more guaranteed money, Ocho, but you got big, big cap hits. And so now we're just like, okay, we're going to give you another$55,$60 million, put more vulnerable years on the end, and we'll just kick the can down the road. but it's just going to be hard to see your number one and then you pay your number one making 34 and the other guy comes in and he's making 43, 44. But he going to come back up, though, and he going to get his money again. So you going to have two receivers making 40 million?
6:56Man, if we win it, we ain't got no choice. That ain't happening. You do realize if you win the Super Bowl, how much you going to have to pay Dak? yeah I'm sure Jerry I'm sure I can tell you this 88 ain't going nowhere nah 88 ain't going nowhere no time soon Jerry drafted I just don't see a scenario where Pickens who is going to have another good year CD ain't going to have another good year and I think Pickens won't be there after this season I'm hoping I'm hoping they can come out the NFC and compete for a championship and make everybody happy after a very long wait including you, Joe, and other Cowboys fans but it's a good situation to have and while you have them there you want to make the most of the opportunity right now you want to make the most of the opportunity you have right now with such a crazy offense just can the defense stand up and do what they need to do when it matters most the Cowboys have a new name for their offense.
8:05G-O-T-I. Greatest offense there is. Damn. We putting that pressure. Hey, hey, hey. We want all the smoke, man. Hey, hey, honestly, Joe, having a nickname like that. Why O' take his glasses off when he said that? I thought you, normally, Ocho, normally you did something. The greatest show on turf. What did they do, Ocho? Come on. Did they win something? Yeah, you're right. You're right. Yeah, they did. They did. But can I say something? The monsters of the midway. The purple people's eaters. They did a steal curtain. Come on, Joe. Y 'all used to be how to do their defense. Right. Hey, can I say something, though?
8:49Hey, that offense is hell, though, Uncle Joe. That offense is hell, boy. You think it'd be better than the 07 Patriots? Oh, ain't nobody going to be better than the 07 Patriots. Will it be better than the 13 Broncos? 606 points. 5 ,477 passing yards. Five guys with double-digit touchdowns. Nah. Mm-mm. Completely different type of offense. But I'll tell you one thing. Respect. It's going to be good. What about the 98 Vikings? Hey. Randy Moss and Chris Carter. With Moss and Chris Carter? I'll tell you what they hope. hey that's bombs over bad hey y 'all just respect respect our confidence respect our grind the greatest the greatest offense that isn't cause you ain't did nothing come on man come on damn you just caught that one well they said it is I said it isn't don't worry we gonna show y 'all they giving themselves names I give them one too hell it.
10:01Yeah. I'm going to blame it on you with everybody's ass. I'm going to say, man, don't you came up with that? Yeah. Yeah. Hey, I'll tell you one thing. Them boys, them boys going to be five versus an offense. I'll tell you that. Yeah. Healthy? Boy, they, they, they got it. D-O-T-I. Okay. Greatest offense, that isn't. Go ahead, Joe. There he is. Jerry Jones ever decided to sell ownership shares outside of investors in the future. it sounds as though he's considered Mark Cuban. That's exactly why if you're me, you would be open to that because of the man. I have all the respect in the world for him, and I know what he did for the Mavericks, and he's done for basketball.
10:41So you want to associate with the highest quality of a person who loves the game and then also at the time wants to do something about it. Mark leads the way in that aspect. If I'm not mistaken, I think they value the Cowboys' Forbes at$13 billion. so even 10 % that's 1.3 billion Ocho now you saw what you call them just went for what 9.6 billion Seattle every owner get a cut of that y 'all do realize that when they sell their franchises every owner get a cut of that so
11:19I don't know it's hard to break because it's so perfect now you got 32 teams Ocho You got eight four divisions. You can't get any more perfect than that. But$10,$12 billion is hard to say, nah, we don't want to expand. I'm just saying. I'm just saying.
11:45Hey, man, we need to peace up a little bit, man, and see if we can get us a little. What's up? All I can afford is the Gatorade. I got the Gatorade I got the Gatorade for about two, three years I ain't even hold nobody once upon a time man, think about it Joe, what you trying to do? I'm trying to get you an uncle to jump in Oh, I'm I'd rather put my little money towards a soccer club put a little, you know, 5-10 % and you know, somebody I can see me a little return, you know, five, ten years from now. Okay. I mean, I think if Smith, Robert Smith, he's one of the richest black men in America. I think he's worth about eight, eight and a half, nine billion dollars.
12:43I think, you know, at one point people thought that he was going to purchase the Broncos, which would have been a good investment because in three years they've increased$2.2 billion. They've gone from$4.5 to$6.8 billion in two years. Hell of a return on your investment.
13:05Hell, I remember when Allen bought the Seahawks from Ken Baring. It might have been less than$200 million. Just sold for$9.6 billion.
13:22and he sold they sold the trailblazers for 4.3 billion so that's about what 4, 13, that's about 14 billion right there, one swoop that's crazy damn Travis Hunter put on some muscles in the off season and you can see the two photos right there, look at year one
13:49and you look at year two. Damn. Boy, that's a huge difference. That boy eating weights, eh? Hey, all I can do is look. I ain't got to look. Hey, just look at his face. Look at his face, little joke. He got caps on his delt. Hey, his chest, his arms, delts. Yeah, he's like he put on about 10, 15 pounds. Oh, yeah, easy. Yeah, you don't feel that. As long as it doesn't take away his quick twitch, his athleticism, his ability to transition some of the things that made him special. At Colorado, putting on all that muscle, it takes away from being able to do all the things that he's known to do. Now, you're putting on the muscle to keep from getting yourself injured.
14:39That's one thing. But also, getting too bulky and getting too big, it takes away some of the things that makes you special and separates you from everybody else. That man, hey, hey. That man been in the weight room. He had that little injury. And I feel like he's been in the weight room since then to try and get back. That boy been eating away his uncle, Ojo. Yeah. He look good. That boy's special. Give him that, he look good. That boy's special. He like a totally different damn person. You bought a sofa you didn't have to assemble, a suit someone measured just for you. 17:58Guys, let's jump right into it. Day seven, Brains, the Browns training camp is a wrap. Here's the quarterbacks dead on seven on seven and 11 on 11 drills. Deshaun Watson took all the first team reps. He went 17 of 20. Damn. Seven touchdowns, zero interceptions. Shadour Sanders went 11 of 16, two touchdowns, one interception. Dylan Gabriel went four of six, two touchdowns, zero interceptions. And the rookie green took no snaps. Does Deshaun having a big day completely flip the strip? Excuse me. the script Ocho does it does this change anything in your mind do you believe it changed anything in Todd Monk in mind seeing how well he did in seven on seven and 11 on 11 drills no I don't think so uncle and I'll say it before I know a lot of people we love Shadur we want Shadur to start obviously he finished the season off extremely strong based on the way he played having commanded the offense and I'm sure he would pick up exactly where he left up last year But again, it comes down to business, Uncle Joe.
19:04It comes down to business. And the amount of money that they're paying Deshaun Watson, he's going to start regardless. The job is his to lose. Now, a lot of people, they're emotional about it when I talk about this and I say Deshaun's going to start. No, I love Shadour. I do. I wholeheartedly believe if Deshaun doesn't play well by maybe week four, maybe week five, before it's too late, without them being outside the playoff picture, changes will be made. But the job is Deshaun Watson to lose. You know, the thing is, Ocho, and I can't say that I disagree. The only thing is about that, and you know how this is, when you start the season, let's just say for the sake of argument, they start the season 0 or 5, or they start 1 and 4.
19:43Yes. In order to get back to 500, Ocho, you got to go 4 and 0, you got to go 5 and 0 just to get back. You're right by that. Yeah, you're right by that. So now, basically, at that point in time, half your season is gone. You lose two games. You lose two of those three. or you lose two of those five games or you lose three of those five games, now you are three of eight. What the hell are you about to do with three and eight? The mere fact tells me. If you're three and eight with 11 games to go, the likelihood of you running off six straight ain't very good. Ain't happening. No. No, but if you look at it, right, I don't know statistically and from a percentage standpoint, I don't know exactly what week most quarterbacks have been when they're not playing well, but I'm just going to say a lot of times before you go Joe a lot of times it has to do with the bye when is your bye week because guess what it gives me an extra week to prepare also do I got a home game because I want to start him at home in front of a favorable crowd as opposed to starting him on the road in a hostile environment go ahead Joe hey listen I think Deshaun you know today he was spinning that thing he had it going yeah but I still think Uncan Ocho Monk and Ty Monk he really don't he still don't know yet bro you know i i know this was a good day for the sean but at the same time i still think he has a lot of faith in shador and uh i think it's gonna be a battle you know throughout throughout preseason throughout the preseason games i don't think we really gonna know who's gonna be the starting quarterback to probably right before week one if you just want me to be 100 now i did say the sean took all the first team reps you know yes every last one of him.
21:23Yeah, yeah. So I don't know what that's about, but I'm with y 'all. Deshaun makes so much money that it's going to be kind of hard to start Shadour, have all that sitting on the bench. 46 million on the bench. Yeah, but then think about it. At some point, is he ever going to get a chance to play if Shadour starts? I don't really think so. So I'm probably with y 'all, man. I think Watson is probably going to start the season off as a starting quarterback, but it's still a lot of time left, man. We'll see. Hey, Joe, and obviously it's a lot of time too, and training camp isn't really a tall tale on how you're going to play during the season.
22:05In training camp, you're familiar with each other. Everything is scripted. You got players on defense that be cheating. You got players on offense that know exactly what's coming, what's going to be in front of them. They know what coverage the defense is going to be in, and they're going to run their routes accordingly. They be cheating their ass off. Hey, hey, hey, hey, it's the same thing with basketball, man. When we in practice and you playing against the second team and they know all our damn players, we can't work on nothing because they cheating the plays. I already know what you're talking about.
22:31Yeah, exactly. And I be getting mad. I ain't going to be in my chat. I be getting pissed off. I say, but yeah, come game time, you don't know the play. The dude will be tearing your ass up. Now all of a sudden you over here, you got everybody thinking you Deion Sanders. And now when you get on the field, you're getting plucked like a chicken. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. You know what? If I was Todd Monken, obviously, the Cleveland Browns, obviously trying to compete in the AFC North, try to get themselves back into the playoff environment and playoff berth in general. If I was Deshaun, I'm just saying if I was in his position as a quarterback, I'm wanting to play all the preseason games.
23:09For sure. I'm wanting to get me, maybe get me a series in the first one, maybe get two or three series in the second one. And I think in that third one, I want to play to the half. I want to get as much live in-game reps as possible to get acclimated to the speed of game, to get a familiarity with my offensive players, whatever it may be. That's just me because I enjoyed the preseason, Joe. I enjoyed that thing. I wanted to play. And think about it, though. In that AFC North, Ocho, the Browns probably got the worst quarterbacks out of all them teams. They know probably. Yeah. They do. you don't hold nobody there ain't no problem they do hey so they got a fix man they i know it's been a while since they really had a a setting stone starting quarterback but man i want to see i ain't gonna lie i want to see the browns do well i actually want to see shador get a shot play well i mean because if you think about it he was the best quarterback coming out in that draft last year you know he had the highest passing rating had highest completion percentage and I just feel like he wasn't no damn fifth-round pick, man.
24:15That's just me, though. No, he definitely – I agree. I definitely don't believe he should have been a fifth-round pick. But the question is, and Joe, you asked, like, okay, Deshaun Watson took all the reps. He's 17 of 27, touchdowns, zero interceptions. Shadour was 11 of 16, two touchdowns, one interception. Dylan Gabriel, four of six, two touchdowns, zero interceptions. Prior to this, we had saw – we saw the thing where Deshaun Watson had many more interceptions than Shadour. Same thing with Dylan Gabriel. So the question I ask this chat, this question is for the women and for the men. Your guy treats you like crap for, say, the last two weeks.
24:59Is there a gift that he can buy you to make you forget everything that he's done to you over those two weeks? Your old lady treats you bad for two weeks. Is there a gift? Is there something? Is there a gesture? that she can do. I shouldn't say a gif, I should say a gesture. So it could be a gif or it could be take you out to dinner, it could take you on a trip. Is there a gesture? If after your partner has treated you bad for the last two weeks, is there a gesture, men or women, that your partner could do to make you forget what she had done? Because that is the question that we're asking Todd Munkin.
25:31Did this performance from Deshaun make you forget the previous eight, nine, ten practices, Ocho? Joe, Joe, I think, put it like that. Chad, what do you think? No, I ain't going. I ain't going. You ain't going, Joe? You ain't going, Joe? No, no, depending on what she done. What she do, huh? You said she treated me bad. What she do? Well, the greatest apology is change behavior. I hear what you say. My husband say anything. Hello. Yeah, but my ass tell me something else. I see better than I hear.
26:09So I think that's the question. Todd Monk is like, well, okay. He was outstanding. He had it going today. Kind of reminded me of Deshaun 2020. Yeah. We haven't seen that guy in a very long time. Maybe he popped his head out. Maybe he's like Punxsutawney Phil. So I said, oh, damn. Spring right around the corner. Hey, can I say something real quick to Uncle Joe and those in the chat that are listening? in order to see a 2020 Deshaun Jackson, right? I mean, excuse me. Yes. Deshaun Watson. It's going to take that supporting cast around him to be on point in everything that they do. They have Jerry Judy, Boston, Concepcion, Isaiah Ford.
26:51Everybody has to be accepted. Harold Fanning. Everybody has to be phenomenal. Oh, Bond. Excuse me. I said Isaiah Bond, didn't I? Oh, excuse me. Isaiah Bond. They got to be on point, Joe. a quarterback is only as good as his important cast. If we try to see anything like the Deshaun Watson of old, everybody else around him got to be on point. It ain't just the people around him. It's that damn old line. Man, what's that old line going to look like? It wasn't like I think with the exception of Tunsil, I don't think his old line was that good in Houston. Houston ain't really had no old line I don't know if Houston's ever had an old line because they got David Carr at the league.
27:33They got I didn't have sacked 76 times in his first year, and he was never the same. So we go back and study the Houston Texans over the course of their existence. Their offensive line has been terrible. Hey, and Shadou ain't had no damn offensive line either. Since he was at Colorado here, he ain't had no damn offensive line. Well, he had no offensive line since he was in high school. Jackson State left a lot to be desired. Colorado damn sure left a lot to be desired. And Cleveland wasn't much better. If anything, it probably was worse. And, yeah, so I think the thing is that being around the coaches that I've been around, I've been around the coaches, and I think Mike Shanahan, obviously, Mike Shanahan and Dan Reeves deserves to be in the Hall of Fame based on some of the other coaches that's gotten in.

28:20That being said, it's an eval, an evaluation process every single day. And the hardest thing to do, Ocho, and Joe, you know this, is to keep it here and not do this. I can't let my emotions do that either. Hello. Because guy goes out there and snakes it up. He throws five interceptions with ten incompletions. Ah, this guy can't play. He comes back the next day, Ocho. Now he throws six touchdowns with three incompletions. Oh, yeah, this is our starter. You see how it's done change? Yeah. Hey, we know sports. that thing is, hey, it's going to be helter-skelter. But as it's being helter-skelter, you need to be even keel.
29:04Your process needs to be even keel. So I don't envy that situation because the expectations, I think Jimmy and Dee Haslam, who own the Cleveland Browns, I've said this before, the Browns have some of the best, most loyal fans because ain't no way in hell I'm sticking around for what they've thrown out there on the field for the last three decades. Ain't no way in hell. I'll just say, oh, excuse me, since 1999. Yeah. Ain't no way. Yeah. Hey, hey, hey. That's why you got so many people rooting for Shadour, bro. They just want some type of surgeons for the Browns, bro. They just want something to cheer for, hell.
29:48You know, I know we talk about the Browns making it to the playoffs in that division, man, it's going to be tough as all. Man, go 500. Huh? You talking about five, you talking about the playoffs, Joe. Damn, can they go 500? Can they win? Well, you can't go 500 anymore. Can they be nine and eight? I'm saying, you know, it's a lot of teams that come into the season with expectations, talking about whether it's a championship, this, that, and the third. Man, come on, man. Hey, Joe, that's not realistic, Joe. If you look at the landscape of the NFL, Uncle Joe, to be honest with you, you probably got 18.
30:21You talk about maybe you got eight teams that are constructed that have a realistic chance. Realistic. Realistic. Realistic chance of not only making the playoffs, but hoisting that goddamn Embardy trophy. I mean, being realistic based on how they're structured, what you have on offense, what you have on. You definitely got to have a defense. You definitely got to have a defense. You got to have an adequate offense that can compete week in and week out. I will say this. Expectations leads to disappointment. We've all been there. We done went out there. Oh, yeah. I done took it. Got this nice. I brought flowers.
30:57I brought flowers before I came. Because that's what gentlemen, that's what I saw in the movie. That's what they do. Brought me some flowers, Ocho. Yes, sir. Ocho. Went and got that nice meal. You know what I'm saying? I'm young. I can stay up late. Hey, let's go to the movie. I get to the dope.
31:17I had a great time.
31:23I thought I was like, I thought I was going to get you want to come in. That's what I was hoping for. Damn, you talking about a kid? I don't know what I was going to get inside. You see what happened? I had expectations based on what I had done. Yes, sir. Hello. That it was going to pay off in something in the end. Yeah. People think, oh, we had a great training camp. Everybody came in and everybody. I don't guarantee you're going to win. You're going to win a whole bunch of names. up games. Yeah, that don't mean nothing, boy. That don't mean... Hey, another thing that don't mean nothing is the preseason, too.
31:57Absolutely not. I done seen... I done seen... I done seen many a team go forward on the preseason and lay an egg in the regular season. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Absolutely. Hold on. So y 'all telling me if a dude come out, let's say he ain't no quarterback, right? But he plays one of the elite positions. And you say he come out in the preseason, he ball. You mean tell me that ain't going to put no stain on the coach's brain? Like, man, I might need to find some room for some playing time. Yes, yes, yes. But see, now, you see what you've done, Joe? You put expectations on him. You see what you just did, Joe?
32:28Yeah. You said that man done put a state in your mind that he can do this. Now you don't put expectations. Now, we didn't meet that expectation, then what? What we got on you, Joe? Unc, unc. Well, hold on, unc. Hey, hold on, unc, and Joe. Joe, you got to think about it now. We talk about preseason. Let's say not a quarterback. Let's say skill position, right? You got to receive out there cutting up in the preseason. Victor Cruz was the guy that showed his... Oh, hey, hey, hey. And he cut a fool during the rest of the season, too. He was that boy. But this is the thing, Joe. You got to remember, preseason, you're going against two, three, and fours now.
33:01That's not what you're going to see on Sunday. 1 ,100 guys going to get cut, Joe. Damn. 1 ,100 guys going to get cut. A thousand, my bad. So they're going to go from 80 to... They probably got 90 guys in camp at some point in time. You got to whittle that thing down and keep whittling it down, whittling it down. You might have had a hundred guys in camp. You're going to whittle that thing down and whittle it down and whittle it down, whittle it down, whittle it down. With that being said, I think the thing is, is that you hope, I mean, it could look, Ochoa, correct me if I'm wrong. I think with the exception of maybe five guys, coaches and staff know who their guys are going to be going into the season.
33:42You'll get a big crew. You'll get a Rod Smith. you'll get a Terrell Davis, but for the most part, you have a general idea of your starters and your backups. Now, some guys, sometimes guys are going to flash. It's going to be a game. You're like, oh, I got to give this guy, especially if he does it early, because now I got to give him an extra look, Joe. Yeah. I got to make, okay, let me see what he's like with John. Let me see what he's like with the number one defense. Let me see what he's like behind the number one punt return team. So now I can evaluate him a little better. Because if I get him constantly going against twos and threes and going against some guys that potentially might not make the team, I don't know if I'm doing a fair evaluation of him and what he's capable of doing.
34:28Because I know a lot of the guys that he's making plays against, they're not going to be in the league. So now I've got to give him a better look. I've got to give him a more extensive look. Right.
34:42Ocho, you said something earlier that, like, when the guys in camp, they're looking at plays and then you see these guys and you know the guy can't tee off on you. But that guy across the field, he can tee off on your ass. And he's trying to make a club. He's trying to make the club. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
35:03So, he's looking at you as an opportunity for him to make the club. See, in your own team, guys ain't going to hit you like that. They're going to walk up. Every once in a while, you get a guy, you know, and then you're going to get a lot of pushing and shoving. And so I don't do that anymore. Somebody's going to throw the ball and hit you in the head with it, hit you in the back. But across that, when he don't know what you're going to do and you don't know what he's going to do, yeah, he got something for you. It's a different ball game. You got to play honest, Joe. Ain't no cheat then. You got to play honest.
35:30Hey, I understand that. But the many years that I've played in the NBA, it's probably been about three to four times, Uncle Ocho, to where when we invite Caps to training camp and you be like, man, you know, coach may tell you, well, look, Buddy and them ain't going to make the team, but we need some bodies for camp. But it's been a few times, man, I'm talking about about three, four times to where dudes who weren't supposed to make the team, hell, they made the team just by being relentless, working hard, and just out there doing whatever. All the threes. Huh? Austin Reeves. Yeah, he one of them.
36:08He one of them, bro. You know what I mean? And I just feel like I know in football, it's probably a little different, obviously. But, man, I've seen guys who weren't supposed to be that man just have such a high work ethic to where they just wouldn't take no, bro. It's like, if you cut this man, I remember one time here in Atlanta, man, we had a guy named Ivan Johnson. I don't know if y 'all ever heard of him. I'm not going to say, was he a forward? Yeah, he like a power forward. But he probably won by about 6 '4", 6 '5", Ocho. He played overseas. He got banned from overseas. And he came here to the Atlanta Hawks, bro.
36:42He tried out 5 '10". Got a mouthful of goals, Ocho. I'm talking about permanent. Permanent. You hear me? Yeah. Man. Yeah. They didn't think dude was going to make the team. But when I tell you, Ocho, this dude was so relentless in practice, in training camp. Like, it wasn't a way you could get rid of him, bro. I'm like, defensively, he was causing havoc. He in passing lanes. You know what I mean? Just doing anything and everything. Like, if you tell a guy like that no, it's like, damn, bro, that's messed up. So, I don't know how it works. Huh? James Harrison got cut like three, four times. Oh, James Harrison did?
37:14Yeah. I didn't know that. The Ravens cut him. The Steelers cut him. Steelers cut him again. I think the Ravens cut him again. Steelers cut him again. That's why his ass worked so hard. Yep. Yep. Alex Caruso, Rod Smith was an undrafted free agent. Johnny Randall was an undrafted free agent. A defensive tackle weighed 235 pounds, Joe. Damn. Had to put waste in his pocket. And cut ass every Sunday. Oh, he tore their ass up. And talked the whole game. I love hearing stories like that. Oh, man, Johnny Randall. Hey, because Johnny was in my draft. Yeah. Ocho, you talk about, you thought you, this joker talked the whole, I don't even know how he had breath to get off the rock.
38:07He talked the whole game. Talking trash. Yeah. Talking trash. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Big time. I didn't see the clip. Oh, I played against him in what? I played against him in 90. Played against him in 91. Played against him in 93. Played against him in 96. 99
38:31Oh my god Like damn bro Yeah he was like Hey Joe what happened to young bull with the goal He made the team What did you mean what happened That man made the team Ocho he played for the Hawks For like two about two and a half Maybe three years bro Yeah Kurt Warner was an undrafted free agent Yeah Kurt came from Canada too Uh he Arena League. I will burn Starmers. Yeah, Arena League. Yeah, not Canada. Arena League, yep. But sometimes, sometimes guys just need an opportunity. Yeah. And sometimes it might not be where you are that gives you that opportunity. Right. But you got it. I mean, look. And James, like, because you look at James.
39:17James is 5 '11". Yeah. We don't need very many 5 '11 outside linebackers, Joe. Mm-mm. That boy getting it done. It is a, hey, he would not take no for an answer. That's what you want. Them type of dudes you want on your team. He would not take no for an answer. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. And turned himself into a defensive player of the year. Damn. One of the great Steelers linebackers. We know Steelers, if they're long for anything, they're known for linebacker play. From Jack Hamm to Lambert to Mike Merriweather to Gildon to Peasy. they've had them. Woodley, they got them. Andy Russell, you name it, they're known for linebackers.
40:01And he fit that mold.
40:05Intimidating. Scary. He fit right in with the 70 Steelers. 70 Steelers, 80 Steelers. James Harris would have been perfect. He'd have been more perfect for the Raiders. Oh, yeah. Them hard-working dudes, bro, they're going to be the talented dude any day, bro. They going to beat him any day. I don't care what you're doing. Because you don't have one signature thing that he can rely on. It wasn't like he was running 4-4. Yeah. It wasn't like he was 6-4. Yeah. He was undersized. He said, I got to be relentless. Yeah. And his leverage, he used his leverage. Because tackles are high tall. 6-4, 6-6-4 to 6-8.
40:46Yeah. So guess what? They punch. He up underneath you. You got to basically punch down. and guess what he don't fight and once somebody as strong as that once somebody strong and Debo get up underneath you you might as well cancel Christmas it's a wrap but that's what you have to do though guys that's why I mean sometimes when you have success Joe you know look you have success in college and people just automatically when he was so good in college everybody was good in college that's how they got to the league the hell Yeah, everybody was good and how the guys got to college cuz it was good in high school.
41:28Yes, sir But everybody can't make it There's only okay, let's just say for the sake of army. You got 120 guys in college How many they graduate a minute they graduate a million damn kids boys young men every year? Okay of those million how many going to get an opportunity to play in the NFL? They only got 53 damn spots. Right. So what? I just need one. I knew one of the spots was for me. I don't know about everybody else. I don't need but one. Hello. I don't know about everybody else. I don't know what they think is what they thought process was. Oh, Joe. Joe, I don't know what they were thinking.
42:10Yeah. Yeah. Yes. I know what I was thinking. Yeah. And I know I wasn't going back to Glenville. That's what I knew. Hey, I'll win you on that one. Hey. Oh, man. Mike Garofalo spoke today on the Brails Battle quarterback, and he's been hearing about quarterback battle one. It's going to be Deshaun Watson, which is amazing because owner Jimmy Haslam said it before they took a swing and missed that Deshaun and made it seem like it was over.
42:44Look, he's like, I got to get, Joe, I gotta get something Joe I've given this man The most guaranteed money In NFL history I gave him a contract So check this out Joe When they signed Deshaun Deshaun He had not even started On the guaranteed contract He had just signed an extension He hadn't started that yet Cleveland gave him An extension on top of the extension Damn Damn. So he had like one, I think he had$141 million. Please say, you know what? We like you. We really like you. Let's go and give you another 89 on top of that. That's because they had been struggling, bro. Yeah, you got to understand how long they've been struggling, though, Joe.
43:36To be able to do that, to be that desperate for a quarterback that was playing extremely well in Houston, you know, and he was able to do it, but not very many pieces around him. He just had D-Hop. Yeah, he went crazy, Joe. So I understand why the Browns, who've been looking for a quarterback since Bernie Kosar, someone that could steer that ship and keep him afloat. That's why they went at him like that with all that money. And you know what? We're going to guarantee it. To make sure they could get him. Man, listen. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We got to keep it 100, Uncle Ocho. So it ain't worked out. Yeah.
44:13It ain't worked out. No, it hasn't. Look, everybody knows that. Jimmy and D. Knows that. Deshaun knows that. It has not worked out. I guess he said, you know what? The likelihood of me remaining here. He said, I mean, I heard him talk the other day. He said, yeah, I'd love to sign another contract with the Cleveland Browns. I don't know if that's going to happen. I think he's thinking if I play well, I might not sign a contract here. But. Yeah. Exactly. That's what I tell people all the time. Hold on. the team that you play on aren't the only team that play their players hello sometimes i don't know you've seen it guys get so caught up man bro there's 28 other damn teams they pay money yeah go ahead i got i got a question too let's say let's say if things don't work out now i don't mean to be looking ahead not saying that he's gonna have a bad season i'm not sure what's gonna happen but obviously this i'm this very well could be deshaun watson's last season in cleveland what I have a feeling should do.
45:12It will take over for the foreseeable future. And you look at the landscape of the NFL in general and teams that still need a quarterback. If Deshaun Watson does play well this year, what teams are out there that would need a quarterback? What's playing well, though, Ojo? I mean, playing well enough to know we're going to take a chance on him because what we got ain't him. So, okay, let me see. You say he throws somewhere between 3 ,500 and 4 ,000 yards. he has somewhere between say 22 and 30 touchdowns yeah somebody will play him yeah absolutely but I'm just saying but think about what you just said that's a no brainer right it's a no brainer but what team Cleveland might be Ocho I'll give you a prime example look at Tua they paid Tua and I just read the report that Tua looked like he's going to be the starter in Atlanta Yeah, I saw that too.
46:09So it's hard to get to, it's hard to find them, Joe. Them quarterbacks, a good quarterback. Oh yeah, it's hard, Joe. Hell, if you're halfway decent, they'll pay you. Hey, forget elite. It's hard to find a good one. 50:03Aaron Donald worked out for the Los Angeles Rams in training camp today. According to Adam Schefter, Donald worked out in a football helmet. He did not wear pads during the workout, but used Ram team equipment and did the workout at their facility. That required the Rams to report it to the NFL. Here's McVay on AD tried out today. Let's take a listen to what he had to say. I couldn't help but know it. Like right before we started, so I hope you're even aware of this, like the NFL transaction wire had Aaron Donald working out with the Rams today, which I guess. Did it come across as a tryout? It did come across as a tryout.
50:36Best tryout that we've ever had. Okay. You think he could make the team? Phenomenal. I think he could make the team. The kid's got a shot. Yeah. That was honestly our way of being able to get a workout with him within the, you know, parameters of what's necessary. But Giff Smith said it's the greatest tryout he's ever had. Great.
50:58hey I like it I like it there's a window of opportunity for the Rams there's a window of opportunity for Stafford to get him one more ring including McVay listen Aaron Donald ain't no fool he ain't no fool if there's an opportunity for me to get another ring with an addition of Miles Garrett who's now over here with that offense they have with Puka Devontae and Brother Williams at running back this is it this is it I don't know who wants to deal with that every Sunday man and grab me 30 million while I'm at that Ocho oh come on man stop man stop and honestly it's almost unfair what you mean why you say that it's almost unfair you got you got Miles Garrett on the end you got Aaron Donald I mean man come on man stop playing man what's that the other DNA we had him on Young I think it's Young We had him on, Ocho.
51:55Remember, he's from Georgia, worked in a supermarket, got picked up.
52:04I forgot his name. I think his last name is Young. I know what. Byron Young? Oh, Byron Young. That sounds about right. Hey, Aaron Donald ain't fooling me, Uncle Ocho. His ass coming back. Talk to me, Joe. He coming back. And, man, you ain't doing that. Hey, Joe. Hey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course you're coming back, Joe. Ain't showing up the facility for nothing with no hammered on. That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. Come on, man. You know, hey, hey, hey, hey. I ain't going to lie. It would entice me to hell if I had Miles Garrett over there. You know what I mean? I'm like, what? I can come back.
52:40What? Man, ain't nobody going to see them rims. The thing is that look. I think it's going to take him a little while because you got to realize he's been away from the game for a minute. So it's gonna take him some time for his body senses to see where that wham block coming from See what I pulled that scoop. Yeah, all that stuff Oh, you cut you because yeah, when you get away from it, your spidey senses don't tingle like they once did He would know a that gap that guard open up. He know that way I'm coming He know that tight end coming to that short mode that crack motion He know when they would try to scoop it when they would try to post it.
53:17He knew all that He knew to get skinny. Nope, nope, nope, nope. And the one thing I will say about him, he never give you the whole man. You're only getting half the man. He's like a wide receiver. Hey, if you watch him at a D tackle, his hands are unbelievable. Yeah, his hands and his feet. And the funny thing, too, this might be a good thing, too, Uncle Joe, for Aaron McDonald. Now, I know we say him not having the spidey senses, him taking some time off, but think about what it's been able to do for his body too. Allowing his body to heal. Allowing his body to recover. Coming in camp, fresh camp legs.
53:57No wear and tear on his body. Even though he might be a year or maybe two years old, I'm not sure how much time he had off. But he might be about 33. Go ahead, Joe. And just to kind of piggyback what Ocho was saying, Ocho, you're right. You think about it, man. He's been out for so long. Them wounds are healed up. You know, he feeling good. You know what I mean? He probably in the right mental space. You know, you ain't been getting your ass beat up. You know what I mean? It's a little different, bro. It's different. Hey, think about it. Yeah. Because if you've been out for two years and you done healed up, but you're still working out, staying in shape, man, you're going to always, you're going to always have that itch to come back and play.
54:37You know what I mean? Because he didn't leave the game with no significant injuries. You know what I mean? No, no, no, no. He didn't. Nah. Hell no. That man coming back. What? Yeah, that's dope. That's dope. I mean, listen, I'm happy for Aaron Donald. I'm happy for the Rams. Obviously, the opportunity that they have at their disposal, the window of opportunity, they have to maximize it. They got to maximize it on their neck because it won't be there long. Even just the addition of Aaron Donald in general, along with Miles Garrett, man, come on, man. That's like you're playing Madden, Joe. That's like you're playing Madden.
55:15You know, you're getting your superstars on one team on ultimate team. That's cheating, though, Joe.
55:23Hey, listen, you can't run the ball up the middle. You drop back the throw, you got to deal with Miles Garrett. You run the ball, you got to deal with Aaron Donald clogging up the hole. You got a secondary that's good. He's 35, aren't you? He played well last year. He's 35. He turned 35. Okay, listen, a 35 Aaron Donald is still top three in the NFL, along with Chris Jones and brother Jeffrey Simmons. Oh, yeah, for sure. And the thing, look, I know some guards I hate, like, man, please stay retired.
56:01Where'd you really try to deal with you? Like I say, Byron Young, they got Fisk. Oh, yeah, Fitz from Florida State, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He can play. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He can play. Yeah, he nice. They got a linebacker. I forget his name. Stockton? Is it?
56:25Whew. Boy, he. Boy, they. They got something on their head. They got something on their head. That's what, you know, the guy's like, you know what? But the thing I said now, here's the thing, Ocho. He said I walked away because I didn't have the desire to train like I trained year-round. You think he can summons it up for eight months? Absolutely. Absolutely. Because, listen, someone that's retired for two years, he wouldn't summon it up unless he knew the opportunity made sense. It got to make sense, huh? Not the money part. having to get meetings, waking up early in the morning, coming to practice, cold tub, hot tub, rehab, just having to do that after you've done it all these years, there's nothing else for you to accomplish.
57:17You arguably might be one of the best defensive players of all time along with Lawrence Taylor. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, so what are you coming back for? Because he understands that window of opportunity is there for another ring. to add more onto a legacy that's already cemented. Whether they lose or whether they win, it's not going to change anything about how great Aaron Donald has been since he's entered the league. It only heightens it. He's coming in to win, though. Oh, yeah, for sure. I mean, for me, it doesn't change anything for me. I think he's, I think he, I think me personally, I think he's one of the three or four greatest defensive players.
58:02where you want to rank him. Obviously, for me, it's LT is the greatest defensive player that I believe has ever played the game. I like Reggie. Time was, you know, you don't get very many corners that get mentioned as the greatest ever. But I think you have to put time in there for what he was able to do and how he did it. He made you think about him because he wasn't worried about you.
58:32Amen. Anytime you shut off, anytime you cut off a whole side of a damn field, you're a bad boy. You're a bad boy. Oh, yeah. Yeah, AD is, like I said, man, he's phenomenal. He's something special to watch. You watch him, and you're like, wow, yeah. But I think it's just unfair because, like I said, I played an era where the defense, they'd knock hell out you. I could just imagine if they threw the ball back then like they threw it now with the rules the way they are, the way they can knock the hell out the quarterback. Yeah. A lot of these quarterbacks would be out, wouldn't they? What? Absolutely.
59:18Boy, they'd be the hell out of the quarterback. Absolutely. They would knock the quarterback. Boy, they'd knock the quarterback out. I think now with the rules changing that you can't land on the guy when you sack him, that helps a lot too. Yeah, you can't put your weight on it. You can't, basically you can only put and you can't hit it with a cross. Man, you know how many times they put their face mask or their helmet in that quarterback's back or up under his chin? Yeah, chin. Not no more. Go back and look at the hit Wilbur Marshall put on Eric Hipple. Flatlining. If somebody hit a quarterback like that today how many games you think?
59:57Google that right quick. And don't you tell me, Joe, how many games you think the player would get suspended? If he had a quarterback in today's game, like Wilbur Marshall hit Eric Hipple. Wilbur Marshall.
1:00:21Wilbur Marshall. I will tell you.
1:00:31and he was out before he hit the dirt
1:00:39and he was out of the pocket oh yeah the one on Joe Ferguson the one on Joe Ferguson was that Ferguson or Hipple I think hold on 1985 yeah that was Ferguson okay was Ferguson playing with the Lions Lions yeah Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know he's playing with the Lions. I'm looking at it now. Play action. Oh, get out of that thing. Okay, okay. Ooh. Oh, no. How many games do you think he gets suspended? Oh, he's asleep. That might be the whole deal. Hey, he put his helmet on his chin, so I know his helmet hit him. Oh, yeah. Yes. That's going to put you to sleep. Hey, I don't think that's a suspension for indefinite.
1:01:29That's the whole season. Hey, like that, that's the whole season. Hey, go back. The reason why they tried to unabated to the quarterback, go look at Bruce Smith. He knocked Boomer Sison out. He jumped outside and then it blew. He did? Go look at it. Go look at what Bruce Smith did to Boomer Sison. Knocked him out. Hold on, let me find that one. That's why they have unabated to the quarterback now. Bruce Smith. Who was it he hit? Bruce Smith hit Bruma Siser. It's on here.
1:02:07Oh, they playing Buffalo too. Oh my goodness. What is the left tackle doing? Who is that? I don't know what he was doing. But that's the way they used to play the game back then, Joe. Oh, yeah. If you can hunt like that, there ain't no penalties. Hell yeah, I'm hunting like that too. You can't hunt like that nowadays, Ojo. Hey, um, hey, Bruce Smith got such a good jump on the ball on that play, the left tackle didn't even get a chance to move. Hey, boom ain't have a chance right there, boy. You see what Turkey and Turkey Jones, look up Turkey Jones, how he slammed Terry Bradshaw. If you slam the quarterback like this today in the pocket.
1:02:53Oh, I remember that play. Or Charles Martin, he did the same thing to Jim McMahon. Jim McMahon threw the ball. Charles Martin grabbed him. Bop. Oh, yeah. You drop somebody on their head like that 9-8 boys over with. That's the way they used to hit. Can you imagine? and people are like, oh, look at the numbers that these quarterbacks threw before in the 80s. Yeah. Now you see why they threw for those numbers. You think those guys going to be throwing for like 500, 400, 500 yards? Hell, no siree, buddy. No siree. No siree. Yeah. The game is different now, Uncle Joe. It's different. And it allows for, I like to say inflation.
1:03:41It allows for inflation. The numbers are inflated based on, you know, defense are handicapped now based on the rules. So there's really not much. No, they can't. That's why the numbers are there. That's why I say, oh, these guys are so much better than Elway and so much better than Marino. Yeah, let Marino have these rules. Let Elway and them have these rules that these quarterbacks operate under where the defense is receiving. You can't hit the quarterback. You can only hit the quarterback in his numbers. And you can't hit him below his name. man look I'm glad they changed the rules it's for the better because you know better we know you know certain a number of hits they add up over the accumulation they add up guys we understand that we're not we're not I'm not begrudging them but I want you guys to take a look and see what the other guys had to endure right you just could close line a guy you could head slap a guy Yeah, everything goes.
1:04:43It was basically the wild, wild west. It really was. They put a bounty on you. They had to stop it because they put a bounty on you. Buddy Ryan put a bounty on the kicker.
1:04:59I think they sacked Troy like 10 times. The Eagles did. Boy, the Eagles had a hellacious defense back then. Oh, yeah, Buddy was wild. No, they had defenses back then because everybody wanted to be able to run the football and play defense behind it. Yeah. But I still ain't for Gabe, Buddy. Buddy was the only head coach that came to Savannah State and worked me out. He told me to my face. He said, we're going to take about four or five receivers in the draft. He said, we're going to put them in a bag. We're gonna shake them up and whoever she comes out. That's who's gonna play and Chad go back and look and see how many receivers they took in 1990 and not one of was named Shannon sharp
1:05:53He told me to That is the Rex tell me all the time said my dad said the number one mistake he made was not taking you I Ain't say I should have been a first-round pick but you mean to tell me I could you took freaky Fred I think they took Freaky Fred Barnett. They took Mike Bellamy. They took another Calvin Williams. They took three receivers. Hey, I got a question. Do you think they took them receivers? Do you think you didn't go as high because you went to Savannah State? Yes. You didn't go to an FBS? That's probably.
1:06:32Yeah. Yeah. You did. I did. But Joe the thing is that when I went to the bowl games I showed out yeah yeah I showed out the guy couldn't do nothing with me showed up there chills up to my chills what you doing that bowl game see I freaked him into one-on-one when we got practice see that's what I tried that's why I got freaky with it I got jiggy with it sure I got jiggy with it all that press coverage
1:07:12Get out my way.
1:07:35day. AJ Brown says he dislocated his thumb in Monday's practice. It's tough. I tried to get back into the flow state zone really quickly because obviously you're going through some pain. The game is what it is. You're going to get bumps and bruises and you have to keep going. I know it's practice, but I'm not coming out of practice. Thumb out of place. You keep going. AJ dislocated the same thumb back at Ole Miss in 2018. Ocho, what is the biggest concern about a receiver dislocating his thumb? Nah, none at all, especially with dislocated thumb. He'll be fine, Uncle Joe. You just tape from the wrist, from the palm, right around the thumb, and you'll be fine.
1:08:16Take some of that pressure off. They put a little pad in right here in between the thumb area, right on the palm. He'll be fine. He'll be fine. He'll be fine. Yeah, yeah, Joe. From catching the ball and people slapping, sticking their hand in there. That's a nagging injury that you're going to never hear. If they didn't report it, I would have told that because I'm going to slap it. If I'm a DB fan, what do I do with Joe? Joe, you good, Joe. I done played with dislocated pinkies on both hands, Joe. All I did was they taped underneath, taped it together. Once they taped my palm and the finger, I put my glove on and I taped the two fingers.
1:08:54He'll be fine. Oh, you dislocated your thumb or your... Both my pinkies at the same time. You see them things? That thumb make a big difference, bro. Hey, just think about it. If you cut that thumb off, you out there trying to catch a ball. Come on, man. Come on, Ocho. That thumb make a big difference. I dislocated by it, Joe. It hurt. Because if you don't catch that ball right, hey, Joe, Ocho, you know sometimes you catch a ball wrong and it hurt anyway. Yeah, yeah. And your fingers are good. But what I did is I used to wear a thumb guard because mine would slip out easy. So I put a thumb guard to keep it from being bent back or keep it from going like that.
1:09:36But like you said, Ocho, some people do tape it. A lot of D linemen tape their hands like that and get boxers' fists and stuff like that because they're constantly shooting and you get your thumbs bent. But that is painful. Yeah, it is. It is. Man. It is. Woo. Yeah. One thing about it is ain't nobody sitting out for no dislocated. Nah. That ain't happening. Nah. I ain't saying they going to sit out. But it's going to linger a little bit. Hey, man. You don't understand how much you need all your fingers and your toes until one of them get hurt. Hey. Until one of them hurt. You ain't going to tell me nothing.
1:10:14Hey. Joe, I done been there, Joe. This was my right. I had the thumb guard. I ain't got this. It's still in my locker. Well, it's back in Denver. But the thing is, you know what's so hard, Joe Ocho? And this is what I always was afraid of, Joe Ocho, is that going to a new team and get hurt. Dang it. Yeah, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
1:10:42I ain't getting a word, you know. You know, I keep you on standby, Joe Ocho. Hey, what that is? Hey, Unc, I thought you had on some purple and gold. Hey, Unc, you played your maker? No, hell no. The Wonder Twins. Y 'all remember the Wonder Twins? Activate. Form a glacier. I do. Form a polar bear. Yeah. Nah, I don't remember that. You don't remember the Wonder Twins? Ocho one watching cartoon. I ain't see that one. Chad, I know y 'all remember the Wonder Twins. I thought Unc was Omega, Joe. Nah, nah, nah. Unc don't take me. He don't take me for that type. Shoot, man. Unc number one on this show.
1:11:27What you mean he don't take you for that type? Oh, you saying he number one? Oh, nah, nah, nah. He number one for damn sure. Nah, nah, nah. Don't do that, Joe. Don't do that. Don't flip with me, Joe. Yeah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. He for sure number one. Nah. I just don't see him doing all that wild stuff. You know what I'm saying? We had a great turnout. We had a great turnout. I mean, you know what I'm saying? I'll hook you up. Flip you up. Hook you up to a place. Great food. Great atmosphere. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. I ain't going to lie to you. I ain't want to pig out, but them group of bites was jumping.
1:11:56Hey, where y 'all went somewhere without me? My bad. I ain't mean to talk to you. My bad. My bad. My bad. My bad. Hey, where y 'all went somewhere without me? Hey, Joe, they calling me Creflo No Dollars in the chat.
1:12:14Hey, yeah, y 'all know. I passed the TD fakes. Look at it. Look at it. Yeah. No, but I think that's the frustrating part about AJ is that he got what he wanted. He wanted to be. He wanted out of Philly. Good, bad, indifferent. You can say whatever you want. Hey, it worked out well. He went to Pro Bowl, went to two Super Bowls. They won one. But I told Ocho this. I said, Ocho, if you win the Super Bowl and you go to Pro Bowls and you still not happy, Ocho, it's just time to leave. Yeah, it was time to change. Joe, that's like, okay, Joe, you become an all-star. You go, you win the championship.
1:13:00You go to two NBA finals. You win one. Yeah. And you're like, man, it ain't what I thought it was. I thought it was going to be. Yeah, yeah. That's a slap in somebody's face. Yeah, I know it. You know what he want. on. He want that ball. That's one of the things he complained about a lot, not being able to get the ball as much as he likes. Because you know why, Ocho? Tell him why. You see what Puka doing. You see what JSC is doing. You see what Chase is doing. Wait, hey, hold on. You do remember when we talk about the top five receivers in the league, A.J. Brown name was always in that conversation, right?
1:13:35His name is no longer in that conversation despite the Eagles winning. You know, I mean, listen, I know it's supposed to be a team sport. Yes, it is that. But also, along with it being a team sport, you still want to remain one of the best at a set position when the conversations come up about the position that you do play. And his name was completely out of it. I can tell you one thing. This year, in that offense, where they throw the hell out the goddamn ball, his name is going to be back in that top five conversation. I can tell you that. Because if Stephon did, could do what he did last year, coming off a goddamn ACL, What you think a healthy A.J.
1:14:11Brown finna do? Yeah, but the thing is, even though then, I don't know, Ocho, because you know Puka still got, he still got Matthew Stafford. And Chase still got Joe. Yeah, I understand. I understand. I saw Drake May play last year. Drake May had a hell of a season. JSN, JSN's like, hey, I kind of like being a 99. I don't know how Puka is a 99. How Puka's not a 99? he will be you know I'm in charge of the ratings I know a lot of people complaining a lot of people complaining about the ratings and who is this and who is that everybody is exactly what they're supposed to be some people need some people need a little bit more motivation which is why they're not a 99 now I wish y 'all in the chat that played Madden let me do my job I got people trying exactly what they need to be just to add a little bit of motivation before the season starts I know what I'm doing
1:15:09They need to give me some platinum shoes. Because Joe, I was 100 at one point. In men? Yeah. That's back when they knew it. Don't do that, Ocho. I guess who else was 100? Barry Sanders? Who? Deion Sanders? Hold on, hold on. To be 100 now, you got to be that boy. Oh yeah. I was that boy now. We don't see him playing, act like he would. Oh, that's what you're telling me. That was him. You would like that now. I really was, Joe. I really was.
1:15:49What are you grabbing over there now? No. Probably one of them helmets. I got to take to my guy at BMW. He hooked my car every time I go. What, he gave you some rims? No, no, no. I had a boat in my tire. A who? what the hell is that a boat i had a like it was not a nail it's a boat yeah and it oh i never heard i never heard that before i did how the hell you get a boat in your tire don't start me to lie but it was in there but uh nah but i we're gonna get that but i just i just hate that for aj because i remember when i I went to Baltimore guys and OTAs. I tweaked my hammy.
1:16:36Man, that's the same thing. Remember I told y 'all that's the same thing happened to me when I signed with the Hawks? That same summer, bro, I'm playing flag football and tweaked my hammy.
