In short

NFL roster and quarterback news roundup plus an interview with Bengals rookie DT Landon Robinson. The hosts debate why teams keep four QBs (Vikings), why Will Levis was waived, and why Dallas cut Joe Milton III.

Guests and backgrounds

  • Landon Robinson: Bengals rookie defensive tackle, a seventh-round pick; from Copley, Ohio (about 3.5 hours from Cincinnati). Played at the Naval Academy; emphasizes film study and discipline. Dominated preseason and made the 53-man roster.
  • Main hosts (no names given in transcript): discuss QB roster decisions and player evaluation.

Key claims

  • Vikings keeping four QBs is unusual; Kyler Murray is expected to start, Carson Wentz is viewed as the “security blanket,” and JJ McCarthy is kept to avoid admitting a mistake.
  • Will Levis was waved by the Titans after missing 2025 due to right-shoulder surgery; debate centers on impatience vs. Cam Ward’s arrival.
  • Dallas waived Joe Milton despite strong preseason numbers, betting no one claims him and that he can return to the practice squad; hosts argue there must be “more than the preseason” behind the decision.

Notable examples

  • Mentioned QBs: Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, JJ McCarthy, Will Levis, Joe Milton III, Sam Howell, Mitchell Trubisky.
  • Mentioned DTs Robinson studies: Aaron Donald, Geno Atkins, Calijah Kancey.
  • Robinson’s preseason stat: four sacks (PFF).

3:14Shannon Sharpe:This was a surprise to me. The Minnesota Vikings will be keeping all four quarterbacks, including Kyle Murray, Carson Wentz, Max Baltimore, and J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy, who missed seven games last year due to multiple injuries, completed nine of 17 passes for 115 yards, took two sacks in the preseason. Ocho, are you surprised they're keeping both quarterbacks?

3:34Joe Johnson:I think there's one other team that kept four quarterbacks as well. Hey, Joe, I'm not sure why they did. Obviously, Kyler Murray is going to be our starter. Carson Wentz is going to be your number two. And I'm assuming they didn't want to cut someone. They didn't want to cut someone. They didn't want to let J.J. McCarthy walk too soon. He's not the safety valve. He's not your security blanket. Your security blanket is Carson Wentz. So I'm not sure why they kept four quarterbacks. I think I don't want to say a bad look. They don't want to say, oh, we made a mistake, especially in letting J.J. McCarthy go already.

4:06Joe Johnson:If I'm not mistaken, this is just his third year, huh, Joe? I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think it's just his third year. I don't think they want to come up off him just yet, even though he's still not going to be the starter, let alone second string. So I really have no clue, you know, what went in the decision and keeping him outside of we don't want to look like we made such a huge mistake drafting him that early. He was the seventh or eighth pick, if I'm not mistaken, in the first round, hell, just two years ago.

4:33Chad Johnson:Does this tell you, Ocho, that maybe they don't have a lot of faith in Kyler Murray? Nah. Keeping four quarterbacks, bro, that ain't normal?

4:45Joe Johnson:It's not normal, but they got faith in Kyler Murray. Well, then why you keep four quarterbacks if you got faith? Listen, keeping four quarterbacks had nothing to do with Kyler because he's still sitting behind Carson Wentz. No. Absolutely not. And I hate using, I don't like saying sources, but, you know, Calamari, you're going to be willing to do it. I don't know. You know, I love to talk to my receivers, my number ones on every team. But what y 'all looking like, boy, hey, we're going to be straight. We're going to be good. And it's not that politically correct, we're going to be good. It's like, yeah, I'm going to be back to my old self.

5:27Joe Johnson:So I'm looking forward to 18, being 18 again.

5:30Shannon Sharpe:I agree with Joe. What?

5:34Chad Johnson:They don't have faith in Murray.

5:37Shannon Sharpe:How? What's been his MO in Arizona, Ocho? Too small? Injuries. Oh, stay healthy. Yeah. So that's why we keep four quarterbacks. Yeah.

5:50Shannon Sharpe:Plus, I don't want to run the risk. If I release Bozmer, somebody's going to sign him, Ocho. Yeah. He played too well for us in the preseason. Right. All things being equal, they probably probably kick the tires around and see if somebody was willing to trade for J.J. McCarthy. That's what that's what I would have done. That's what I would have done. See, the hardest thing, the biggest mistake that I think a lot of teams, not just in pro sports, but a lot of times, won't admit I made a mistake. It's okay. People make mistakes. You choose the wrong spouse. You choose the wrong girlfriend. You choose the wrong job.

6:31Shannon Sharpe:They choose the wrong employee. It happens. But you exacerbate a situation when you refuse to admit that you've made said mistake and you stay in it. Yeah. You know after a while they don't mean you no good and you don't mean them any good. And you still won't let it go. Right.

6:51Joe Johnson:Come on, now. Take your time. But it's not working out.

6:55Shannon Sharpe:It's not working out. I would rather, and I've always been this way, I would rather let a person, if you and I are not working out, I'd rather you go somewhere and be happy than stay here and we both miserable. You know we miserable.

7:12Chad Johnson:Yeah.

7:14Shannon Sharpe:That's me. Yeah. Just go on. Go on and be happy. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. What we thought, and normally it's hard for a relationship to start out contentious. Normally they start out in good terms. But for whatever reason, halfway down the road, look, we going on a trip, Ocho, everything started out good. I done gassed the car up, got everything tuned up and ready to go, and get a flat tire. Okay, everything started out great. The dates were great. We were fun. You know, you was hanging from the chandelier. You know what I'm saying? Everything was great. Had the Ocho package. You know what I mean?

7:55Shannon Sharpe:It was just laid out. Yeah, the Ocho fun package. But whatever reason, for whatever reason, it didn't work. Damn. It's okay. People just, you know what it is? People are so afraid to admit when they're wrong.

8:13Chad Johnson:Yeah.

8:13Shannon Sharpe:I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

8:15Chad Johnson:Especially in professional sports.

8:16Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, man.

8:18Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey, hey.

8:19Shannon Sharpe:It's rare. If you're wrong, that don't make you no bad, brother.

8:22Joe Johnson:They don't. They don't. But I know one thing. GMs don't want to look like they make the wrong choice. It happens from time to time, though, Ocho.

8:30Chad Johnson:I think they're human. You know what I mean? And you can't take that element from them, bro. Like, you're going to make some bad picks from time to time. Hell, you may not be the best developer when it comes to, let's say, a quarterback or a wide receiver or whatever the case may be. But at the same time, man, when you look – like I always talk about that eye test. When you see it and you've been with a guy, a guy been with you two, three years, man, he ain't got it, bro. Yeah, we got to move on. We got to move on. There's too much talent coming into the draft every year, coming to the NFL every year for us to continue to have to deal with subpar, you know, talent.

9:09Shannon Sharpe:You look at J.J. McCarthy and Josh Rosen. Both guys came out early. Rosen came out of UCLA. I think he was UCLA McCarthy Michigan I think they were both 10th pick in the draft

9:31Shannon Sharpe:The Eagles kept four quarterbacks Steelers kept four quarterback The Vikings kept four The Browns kept four Three of the possible Because they put Gabriel On power He doesn't need to return Yeah.

9:55Shannon Sharpe:Hurts, McKee, Dalton, Payton, Rogers, Rudolph, Howard, Aller, Murray, McCarthy, Wentz, Bozmer. And he had Watson, Sanders, Green. Dilly Gabriel went to IR with designated for return.

10:09Chad Johnson:Hey, what did they do with LeTaylon Green? What did they end up doing with him? You're on the active roster. Oh, is he? Yeah.

10:17Shannon Sharpe:you made a 53

10:18Chad Johnson:damn they seen that talent that boy got hey hey there's something we can work with

10:27Joe Johnson:hey it might be like a little Terrell Pryor situation huh

10:31Chad Johnson:you think they gonna put on that try and make a receiver Ocho I mean listen the more you can do

10:40Shannon Sharpe:quarterback and receiver look we like what we have with this kid right here he's just wrong. He didn't play a whole lot of college football, Joe. Let's get him in here. Let's get him in the system. Let's coach him up. Let's work with him. He'll get an opportunity to take a lot of reps with the scout team. That's how he's going to get better because he's not going to get many reps with the ones. He's not going to take any offense with the offense that's going to go out there and play on Sundays. His reps are going to come with the scout team.

11:08Chad Johnson:Yeah.

11:08Shannon Sharpe:And so that's when he works on his game. That's when he works on his footwork. That's when he tries to get better. Be very attentive in meeting. Make Make sure you take copious notes. Do everything that you need to do in order to get better. Show them that you're trying to improve. Don't be complacent like, oh, I'm on the team now. I'm going to, you know, bull jive around. No, let them know that you take this thing serious. You appreciate the opportunity that they gave you. And now I'm going to take full advantage of this opportunity. Yeah. Yeah. But, no, I think Murray's history, Ocho, him being that size and not being able to stay healthy, because it cost him his job last year.

11:48Shannon Sharpe:He got hurt. Remember, he tore his ACL, and then he had shoulder problems. So you're asking an awful lot. This is a physical game. Yes. This is a violent game. This isn't a contact sport. This is a collision sport. People collide. They don't make contact. They collide. Things break when you collide. When you run into high rate of speed, bodies what made you run into each other at that's high rate of speed. Eventually something gives. And the smaller running into bigger.

12:27Shannon Sharpe:You're right. You're right. When you're moving like I do, trips don't always come together weeks in advance. 16:06Shannon Sharpe:back to this stuff we got a very special guest joining us rookie d tackle landon robinson you dominated the preseason bro a seventh round draft pick tell us your mindset coming into camp as a seventh round draft pick you know a lot of times those seventh round draft picks they use those guys as camp bodies they don't really think you're gonna be able to stick it out but somehow you found your niche and here we are on the 53 man roster. Congratulations to thank you so much. I appreciate you. And first off, thank you guys so much for having me. Yeah. Like you said it, you know, as a seventh round pick and then you come into the league and you know, you have that chip on your shoulder, right?

16:39You, you have that chip on your shoulder and you, all you want to do is just show the team and show your teammates and the coaches that they can trust you. So that was my mindset. You know, I came in and I was like, I just want to show out, you know, just do what I've done throughout my entire career and just continue to learn and just get better. Obviously, it's a next level. It's the NFL. It's not college. But I just had that mindset that I just keep getting better every single day. And at one point, I'll be making plays. So that was my mindset.

17:05Shannon Sharpe:You're from Copley, Ohio. So this is extra special for you. How far is that from Cincinnati, if you don't mind me asking? It is about three and a half hours. Yeah, not too bad at all. So you have some family in every home game. Yes, sir. Yeah, yeah. They've been coming up for all the preseason games and it's been awesome. Yes, sir.

17:24Joe Johnson:So what has it been like for you? Obviously not going drafted in the learning curve, the learning curve and being able to catch up most of the time for myself, I think about the speed of the game, the speed of the game. It, to me, it was like, Oh my goodness, this is ridiculous for you. How has that learning curve been for you? And then have you gotten acclimated to the speed of the game yet? Yeah, I think the speed of the game when you first get there, you know, when I first got to Cincinnati, it's definitely like, oh, these guys are a little bit bigger, a little bit faster. Everybody's a lot smarter.

17:54I think that was the biggest difference is, you know, everybody really knows the game. Like, you don't realize how much you don't know about football until you're around guys that really do this. You know, like Dexter Lawrence, you know, Jonathan Allen. Those guys are seasoned vets, you know, B.J. Hill. So being able to learn from those guys, you know, throughout camp, I think I've gotten better. I've gotten used to the speed of the game now. And, you know, in preseason, I got the chance to get out there and kind of get acclimated a little bit. But I'm excited to go into week one and just continue to learn and grow.

18:25Shannon Sharpe:That's dope. Yes, sir. There's a situation where, like, when you said these guys are a lot smarter, they use every mistake, every misstep. They use that against you. You take one false step, that guy's got you cut off. These guys are so – and you look at these guys like, ain't no way you're going to cut me off. And the next thing you know, you're like, damn, get over the top, son. Hey, Robinson, get over the top of that. That is your play. That's right. That's right. And it's that slightest misstep. And that's why being able to study the game is so important because they use every single mistake that you use, every single mistake that you make.

18:59It could cost you in the run game for sure.

19:02Shannon Sharpe:Can I ask you a question? What round did you think you were going to get drafted in? Because I was a seventh-round draft pick also. And I thought I would go somewhere between the first and the third rounds. And so I ended up going to seventh round because when I came out, the draft was on a Sunday. So now, obviously, it's a Thursday, Friday, Saturday. So what round did you think you were going to get drafted in that put this chip in? You say, you know what? I got something for y 'all ass when I get to camp. I don't know who's going to draft me, but y 'all going to get a pissed off player, and I'm going to punish everybody that goes in front of me.

19:31That's right. And that's exactly the mindset that you got to have. Obviously, people have got projections and where they think you're going to go based off what coaches are saying. So I heard anything from third round to fourth round to fifth round. Right. So I was kind of waiting between that day to day three range. And I was just waiting, just waiting with my family. We had a big old draft party we were doing, which was awesome. And my mom set that up. So thank you to her. But but no, I was like waiting between that those rounds. And I started to get later and later and later. And we're sitting there.

20:02Obviously, that chip is just building, just building and building. And you're just thinking about all the coaches that you talk to and just all the relationships that you've built over that time. and all he wants is the opportunity, just the opportunity to go out there and just to shine. So the Bengals gave me the opportunity and I'm just blessed. And no matter what round it was, I'm just blessed to be able to get picked up.

20:21Chad Johnson:Hey, what do you think the biggest difference or preparation when it comes to like college football and the pros, what do you think going to be the biggest difference? I think studying the game, the film room is the biggest difference. I feel like in college, especially at the Naval Academy, you don't have a whole lot of time to really, you know, dive deep into your opponent the way that you do now, right? In the NFL, you know, it's your job. So that's, it's your job to study that. But in college, you don't have that time. So I think that's the biggest difference. And I've been learning that with my coach, you know, Coach Jerry Montgomery.

20:52He's been teaching me how to watch the film, how to study, you know, the backfield sets, how to see, you know, different tendencies before the snap, you know, even happens. So that's how you play faster and that's how you become a great player. So I'm still learning that and I'm excited to just keep growing.

21:06Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. I like that. I told you, the Naval Academy, man, your big ass can't fit in no sub. You're going to get stuck going down there. I've tried it before, and I'm definitely not no submarine and no serve. But, yeah, I serve select the Marine Corps out of the Naval Academy. So, a Marine, not a submarine. Yeah.

21:26Joe Johnson:I like that. One of the things I like that you said, especially as early in your career, understanding that you have to be a student of the game, watching film, watching Tennessee, so it makes it easier for you on Sundays. So being at your position, I need to know who do you watch? You got to give me your top three. Your top three at your position that you watch, that you might want to steal stuff from and mow your game. Absolutely. You know, as an undersized D tackle, obviously Aaron Donald is probably the number one guy I watch. Since college, I've been watching him for years, years. And I try to model my game after him and his explosiveness, the way he contorts his body to play different blocks.

22:06I think he's number one for sure. And then I say Geno Atkins, you know, a Bengals guy. So there we go. That's a good one. That's a good one. Yeah, Geno Atkins. Yeah, he was also explosive. You know, got that first step, just quickness off the ball, then using his hands. And then I'd say Kalaja Kansi, you know, on the Tampa Bay. He's a great, another undersized tackle, but, you know, he uses his hands well, and, yeah, he gets in that backfield. So I study those guys all the time, just watch their film, and just try and find different things I can take from them. Yeah.

22:36Shannon Sharpe:You look at Aaron Donald. If you look at Aaron, he always plays on edges. He never gives the man a full body. You're never going to give him a breastplate. You get this, you get this. He's wax on, wax off. Hey, hey, hey. And he's so tight with it. I've never seen a guy his size that can swim and then get low to get right back. Because the quarterback right there, he's like, if I get too far up the field, I'm going to run past the quarterback. He can swim and dip so quick. He's the best I've seen at that. And I've seen a lot of great tackles. I've seen Sapp. I played in the league with Sapp and Johnny Randall and a lot of these guys.

23:12Shannon Sharpe:He's the best I've seen at this. Yeah, no doubt. And I had the opportunity to meet him, actually, in the pre-draft process. And I got to – I opened Pittsburgh. I went up to Pittsburgh, and I got to meet him and kind of do like the size difference. We're like the same size, which was – that was awesome. Seeing that he can do it in the NFL, that gave me a lot of confidence. So I got to meet him, pick his brain a little bit, and I'm excited that he's back in the league now. So hopefully we'll see him one day.

23:35Joe Johnson:Yeah. Hey, what'd you think about Cincinnati? I mean, obviously, you know, you've been there, what, how long? About four or five months. Four or five months? What'd you think about Cincinnati? I love it. I love Cincinnati so much. I've never fallen in love with the city so fast. The people are so loving. You know, they care about, you know, their athletes and they take care of them. And I'm just so glad and so happy to be here. And it's like I said, it's only three and a half hours from where I'm from. So my family can come up. So, but it's just been such a blessing to be here for sure.

24:06Shannon Sharpe:Copley. So what do you guys do in Copley? Is it rural area? Do you farm in? Is it ag? What's going on in Copley? Yeah, it's a suburb of Akron, Cleveland. So a little suburb, a nice little area, but it's definitely not too much to do there, you know, compared to Cincinnati. But it's a nice place, and I grew up there, and, you know, I definitely call it home for sure. Wow. You got your setting the goals, obviously, was making the team was the number one goal. So is there any other goals? If you said, man, you know, I can be a rotational player. I can get me about four or five sacks. I just want to contribute.

24:41Shannon Sharpe:So whatever the contribution, whatever that looks like, count your boy in. That's right. That's right. I think you took the words right out of my mouth. Just finding a way to contribute early in whatever way that I can. You know, either they need me on special teams, they need me as that third down guy, like whatever they need me to do, I'm down for that. And just finding my niche in there. Right. I think that's my biggest thing. I think that's my on the field goal is just to find my way on the field. Right. But then my off the field goals is just helping. I started a foundation, Elena Robinson Foundation.

25:13It's a mental health, you know, providing that advocacy for mental health. Right. I think that's something, especially in the NFL, that not a lot of people like to talk about. Right. And that's something that I wanted to bring that to the community and to Cincinnati, you know, with this platform that I have. and it's been such a blessing being able to do that and just provide that for the city. So I'm growing my foundation. I'm just trying to just work with that and my mom and I have been working with that and she's been doing a great job with it. So kind of just two different goals that I got there, but it's been a blessing to be here and I'm just excited to just keep going.

25:44Shannon Sharpe:Landon, you know, you got to be smart to get into the Naval Academy. You know, Ocho, Joe and I, we couldn't have got a single with our grades. You had up all our SAT scores and they probably wouldn't have touched yours. Yeah, you know, you got to be a little smart for sure. the Naval Academy, it's a, it's a special place and it's a leadership laboratory. So you got, you go in there and you're, you're, you're challenged and you're, you're shaped to be, you know, an officer in the military. So, so definitely it's a challenging place, but you, you learn a lot about yourself and I learned a lot about how to handle adversity and how to grow when times are challenging, which is, that's what football is, you know?

26:19And I think that's, that's the reason why, you know, we've had so many guys, we have a few more guys than usual, coming out of the academies playing professional sports because it just builds you as a person and as a player.

26:31Joe Johnson:You know what everyone has too that comes out of any academy? Discipline. Discipline. Everybody has discipline, and that is the number one thing that you do need to do anything or just to be successful at anything, especially when it comes to the game of football, having the discipline to do everything the right way consistently over and over and over again. That's over. No doubt.

26:55Shannon Sharpe:Have you thought about what it's going to be like running out that tunnel for the first time? You're a professional. That's when it really hit. I mean, look, you know, I got drafted. I'm doing the preseason. I'm doing the OT. I'm doing all this stuff. There's going to come a Sunday. And that stadium, the jungle is going to be rocking. And you're going to run out there. And that crowd is going to be screaming. Have you thought about what that moment is going to be like? Man, I've thought about it. But it's it's like a moment of it'll really hit you once you see it. Right. You can think about it.

27:26You can hear the fans screaming and all that and the cameras and the lights. But, you know, it'll really hit me when I get that opportunity to run out there on week one. And I'm just so I'm just so excited. And it's such a blessing. I got the call today that I made the team for my position coach. He called me. Yeah, he called me and he was like, he was like, hey, Landon, like, how do you think camp went? And I was like, you know, I think I think it went pretty good. And I just tried to just stack days and just get better every single day. And then he was like, you know, what do you think you'll do if you don't make the team?

27:58And I was like, oh, man, you know, just try and see what other opportunities are out there for me. And, you know, if not, then I'll go back active duty and I'll go serve. And he was like, you know, good thing you don't have to go do that. And I know, I know. I just started crying. I just said, thank you so much. And, you know, I'm just going to go give it all I got. That's what I said. So just an emotional, emotional time. But it's times like that, you think about, you know, running out that tunnel for the first time. And you just, it all just hits you at once. So I think I'll be definitely a little emotional, but I'm excited for it.

28:31Chad Johnson:Hey, man, coach, coach got my man anxiety all up and everything, playing games and all that. Hey, yeah. Right.

28:37Joe Johnson:Hey, coach, coach, coach. I appreciate you. Hey, but we need one thing. We need one thing. Now, you know, I'm the king of celebration. Yes, sir. When you get a sack, you got to have something. I got it. You got to have something. I got something. So during the preseason, I had four sacks on PFF over the preseason. So that was a blessing. Every time I get a sack, I get up, right? And I come to attention, right? Military style, right? Yeah. And I hit a little salute. A little salute to the crowd. There we go. There we go. Yeah, a little salute to the crowd. I like that. I started to catch a little bit of fire, but, you know, I'm excited to keep doing that, I keep making plays and that'll be my celebration.

29:19So that'll be fun. Yes, sir.

29:21Shannon Sharpe:That's a good one. Thank you. You realize what Cincinnati is known for. They put chili on everything. You order grits and eggs, they put chili on it. What? You get a hamburger, they put chili on it. You get ice cream, they put chili on it. Have you tried the chili yet? I have. Skyline has definitely been something that I've kind of, you know, gotten accustomed to. I'm just like, I can't eat it every day. Like, it's not an everyday item for sure. but I'll eat it and I'll eat it and I do like it I like the taste here and there but definitely you can't eat it every day that's all I'll say you can't eat it every day man my stomach hurt now I was thinking about eating I already know I ain't got no chili no yeah no once or twice you know a month or so that would be good but when you called your family when you called your family and told them hey guys I made the team what was that what was that celebration like?

30:15Shannon Sharpe:What was that background noise? Because I know you picked up the phone and called your mom. I did. She was like. Yes, I called her first, and she was actually on her way back. She was driving somewhere, and I called her, FaceTimed her, and I told her, and I could barely get the words out because I was like, man, it's just such a blessing. I told her I made a team, and she started crying, and I barely got any words out because I was choked up. I was choked up. I was probably crying for like a good 15, 20 minutes after the call. So when I called her, I was still, you know, still crying and just trying to just soak it all up, you know.

30:50But she definitely, she was crying with me and she just congratulated me. And so the hard work, you know, she's just getting started and just keep going, keep stacking days. And you'll be wherever you want to be because we got some big goals.

31:03Chad Johnson:Hey, them emotions come up, bro, because you got to think back when you was a kid and this was only a dream. You know what I mean? And now that it's reality, you know what I mean? Like it's almost like you got to pinch yourself sometime. I've been there. You know, you get drafted, you're like, hold on. I'm really a professional. I'm really an NFL player. You know what I mean? I totally get it. So for you to be lost for words and call your mom, bro, that's huge, bro. Congratulations. I know what that feeling is like. Just try and seize the moment, bro. Keep working hard. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I do.

31:36I got an older brother, younger brother. So I called them right after I called my mom and they were like, my little brother don't quite get it. He's a junior in high school now, but He don't really, like, know the whole thing. He kind of thought I was already on the team. And from when I got drafted, he was like, oh.

31:49Shannon Sharpe:People think that you get drafted, that you're automatically on the team. Well, that's right for, like, the first three rounds. But not everybody else, you got to make it. You got to make it. You got to make it. But then my older brother, you know, I called him with his new wife. He just got married, like, two weeks ago. So, yeah, so thank you. So I called him with his wife. And I was just talking to them. And he started crying on the phone. And it was just a super emotional day. But it's such a blessing, though. Like you said, all the hard work from years back, way back. Because my older brother, he used to help me train, you know, back in our garage when I was a kid.

32:24And just all those times, you think about that, and it's just all the emotion just comes flowing.

32:28Chad Johnson:So they never played a sport any of your other brothers playing? No, my older brother, he did the band. He played the trombone in the band. So he played baseball way back in the day, but he didn't play football. And my little brother, he's also in the band. He does gymnastics. so I was the only football guy in the family but I'm just so blessed to be able to help them out and help provide for them in the future. Are you musically inclined

32:52Shannon Sharpe:because you say your brother played the trombone now your brother, the other brother in the band you can play football, you couldn't play an instrument huh? Alright nah I couldn't take it past high school no past middle school, nah I played the tuba back in the day and that was about it it was a little tuba it was a little heavier so I could kind of lift as I was playing it. So that's about it. That's about all I got.

33:13Joe Johnson:I like it. Hey, you know what? If you need a nutritionist, you know, I'm a good one. Yes, sir. I definitely do. Thank you. Yeah, yeah. I definitely need to get, you know, plugged in. Man, don't listen to him.

33:21Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, let me listen. You know what? No part of his nutrition is that. No nutrition. No. Got you. All right. All right. I'm about to take you up, but I appreciate you. Yes, sir. Best. Well, congratulations, man, on making the team. That's a big shout out. Congratulations to you and your family. I know they're extremely, extremely excited. We wish you the best of luck. Stay healthy. Hey, now the journey starts.

33:44Chad Johnson:Yes, sir. Yes, sir.

33:45Shannon Sharpe:A lot of people think the journey starts when you get drafted. No, no, no, no, no, no. The journey starts now. That's right. Yes, sir. Thank you so much. Stay healthy and we'll see you down the road, bro. Thank you so much. Appreciate you guys. Yes, sir. Let's do it.

33:57Chad Johnson:Thank you guys for having me.

33:58Shannon Sharpe:Appreciate you guys.

33:59Chad Johnson:Yes, sir.

34:00Shannon Sharpe:Yes, sir. Have a good one.

34:07Shannon Sharpe:The Tennessee Titans have waved Miracle Whip. Will Levis. Lewis Levis posted 2 ,091 yards, 13 touchdowns, 12 interceptions. Back in 2024, the last time he took the field. The Tennessee Titans finished 3-13 that year, a record which landed him the top pick, which was Cam Ward. He missed the entire 2025 season after opting for surgery on his right shoulder before training camp, landing him on injury reserve. Levis was the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 draft, The Titans landed the number 41st overall pick and the 72nd overall pick in the third round in 2023 and 2024. And the third round pick to move up to selected.

34:48Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Joe, let me I'm gonna go to you swinging to you first. Is this a situation where the NFL teams not having patience on a player? Did they give up too soon on Will Levis?

34:58Chad Johnson:Well, I mean, you got Cam Ward. OK, Ocho, I mean, what? But, I mean, if that's your franchise quarterback, hell, you ain't finna put too much stock in no backup, are you? You know?

35:09Shannon Sharpe:I mean, so you're not surprised that, considering how he played his rookie year, that it ended up getting him a quarterback. Look, they felt that the quarterback was a position in need, even though they had traded all that draft capital to move up to take him at the first pick of the second round. Excuse me.

35:27Chad Johnson:No, it didn't work out. Look, you got Cam Ward who's coming. you got to see what he can got. I mean, see what he can do. Give him another, give him a couple years. But I just can't see him playing in Tennessee, playing behind Cam Ward. He's a young guy who's probably going to be very durable for the next couple years. And, man, if you Tennessee, bro, that's where all your eggs lay at in Cam Ward. Hopefully he can come through and be a franchise player.

35:52Shannon Sharpe:This man, you know Will Levin said there ain't 32 quarterbacks better than him. He ain't lie. Did he really? It's 50. It's 50.

36:01Chad Johnson:he ain't 32 is 50 a question there for you Ojo, y 'all think he gonna get an opportunity somewhere else? yeah

36:08Joe Johnson:he getting picked up absolutely getting picked up a change of scenery is always good I'm not sure wherever the scenery is that he does go he won't have the opportunity to be a starter but he have the opportunity to be a backup and he could be a damn good backup for a very long time in this NFL and make very good money doing so

36:25Shannon Sharpe:yeah because the situation Ojo with the practice squad?

36:31Chad Johnson:Yeah.

36:31Shannon Sharpe:Somebody bring him in, put him on the practice squad. Say, hey, we're developing, work on his mechanics, get him to make better decisions. Because the problem that I had is that he made the same mistake. Ocho, the same mistake week after week, Joe. Late with the out ball. Not holding on to the football. So coaches are going to look at you like, son, one or two things are happening. Either we're doing a terrible job of coaching you, or you're just having a terrible job of understanding what we're trying to coach. Yeah. Coaches don't really want to take the blame and say, but how can you make the same?

37:03Shannon Sharpe:I mean, it was like three, four weeks in a row, Ocho, we came out here and was like, bro, last week you got picked off. And the coach said, son, I told you last week not to do that. And I'd be damned if you ain't did it again.

37:18Joe Johnson:Hey, points are the premium in the NFL, especially when you're young, especially when we have a team where you're really not that good. So you got to take care of that ball. You don't take care of the ball. You don't have that type of offense. You don't have that type of defense that can save the day. You put them behind the eight ball constantly. Yes, for sure. Constantly.

37:35Chad Johnson:Hey, and what's hard as a coach is if you got a player that continues to make the same mistake over and over. Hey, man, I don't even know how to help you know the M.O. You know what I mean? Like, you've gotten your opportunities. We've talked about it. We've watched film, and you continue to make the same mistakes. Yeah, man, they're going to get tired of tapping you on your shoulder and telling you, hey, look, son. You know what I mean?

37:58Shannon Sharpe:Yes. It's either we're doing a horrible job of teaching or you're doing a horrible job of comprehending. Or you just say F it. He's just not it. Yes. And eventually they're going to come to the realization because coaches are like, you know what, just like most things, self-preservation, I'd rather you go than I go. Yeah.

38:21Joe Johnson:I do. Hey, players get coaches fired, Joe. Absolutely. Especially at that position, bro.

38:27Shannon Sharpe:He played just good enough, Ocho, to get himself cut and the coach fired. That's a lose-lose. Yeah. But I just – I mean, you look at the mistakes in chat. We talked about this. Ocho, we talked about this in 24. I'm like, bro, Callahan was losing his damn mind because he said, son, we just went over this. You did the same thing. Either he was throwing a pick or he was fumbling the ball and getting hit and scooping score.

38:52Chad Johnson:Yeah.

38:53Shannon Sharpe:Oh, his arm, his arm I can't get a chance to see his arm He hitting other guys right between the numbers So yeah, he got a pretty good arm, he's pretty accurate Throw it to the other team

39:04Joe Johnson:When you talk about arm talent He got arm talent, boy Joe, he can sling it It's all the other measurables that come in The game ain't The game is one up here, Joe You can have all that throwing And you can run and scramble and all that All that's good, but You gotta beat your opponent up here, man Especially at the quarterback.

39:23Chad Johnson:Quarterback position is too valuable.

39:26Joe Johnson:Got to be the smartest one.

39:27Shannon Sharpe:I'm not surprised by this.

39:35Shannon Sharpe:They got Mitchell Trubisky, who was the second pick in the draft. He had an okay stand in Chicago. They were never happy because they bypassed Deshaun Watson. They bypassed Patrick Mahomes. They bypassed a lot of quarterbacks. And I just didn't understand the Mitchell Trubisky pick. I didn't. for the simple fact is that if you look at what he was in college, Deshaun outplayed him in college. Yeah. Yeah. North Carolina, right? Trubisky went to North Carolina. They were in the same conference. So how can you – I'm sure – and they're right down the road. So if you scouting one, you probably drive on down, drive on up, excuse me, to North Carolina and check out Trubisky and Chapel Hill.

40:15Shannon Sharpe:Ain't no way somebody – whoever graded Mitchell Trubisky, hired a Deshaun Watson, they probably should be fired. They probably got fired.

40:24Chad Johnson:And I think these scouts, too, excuse me, I think these scouts, too, Uncle Ocho, you can overanalyze. You can do too damn much when it comes to analyzing these kids. You can. I mean, you look at the eye test, it'll tell you, look, man, hey, that man got another gear or he got it. I don't know what the hell it is, but he got it. You know what I mean? And I think in college Deshaun showed that Mr. Biscay, Obviously, I think they were going off that strong arm that he had. You know, that's all they were talking about, him coming into the draft, but it didn't pan out, bro.

40:57Shannon Sharpe:What did they say, Ocho? His ceiling is higher. Yeah. What if he can't hit his head on the ceiling?

41:05Joe Johnson:They love that word.

41:07Shannon Sharpe:There's just so much. And when you put more talent, you got to look at the talent that Deshaun had around him and yada, yada, yada, yada. Okay. But what happens when you're a guy and you put better talent around him and he still can't reach the ceiling. Then what? All I know is Deshaun took Clemson to the national championship and he took down Coach Saban and he had him on the ropes. Both games, he won one and he lost one. That's what I know. Yeah. If you beat those Alabama teams back then and Alabama was loaded, this was, well, Alabama always had an NIL program. But anyway, y 'all know what I'm talking about.

41:51Shannon Sharpe:But no, I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised that Will Levitt got waved and they're going to move in a different direction. And Trubisky is the number two quarterback. When you're moving like I do, trips don't always come together weeks in advance. Sometimes production shoots, interviews, or something I've got to travel for on a short notice. 45:35Shannon Sharpe:The Dallas Cowboys have waged Joe Milton III to make room for Amari DiBecardo, who claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs. Sam Howe will be the Dallas Cowboys' backup quarterback, Zach Prescott. Joe Milton had an outstanding preseason, guys, 29-43, 392, four touchdowns. Sam Howe wasn't bad, but he was not as great as Joe Milton. Sam Howe was 27-40, 3-14, three touchdowns and one interception. A few years back, there were some that were thinking that Joe Milton could have pushed Drake May a little harder. A lot of people call him, hey, maybe he should start. The rookie is struggling. You got a big-armed quarterback that can throw the ball, that can cut through the wind, the elements of New England.

46:19Shannon Sharpe:But for whatever reason, the Dallas Cowboys, I know what they're trying to do. They're trying to be slick. Because if you claim him off waivers, you got to sign him to your active roster. They're counting on no one signing him to their active rosters. He fall through waivers. We sign him back, put him back on our practice squad. You see how they hear that?

46:34Chad Johnson:Yeah, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. So listen, they waive him. Y 'all think nobody will claim him, bro? You got to put him on your active roster. Damn, he's good enough to go on your active roster. Okay, Ocho.

46:47Shannon Sharpe:but see the thing is the Cowboys said nah we're gonna take we're gonna roll the dice they're rolling the dice Joe I'm telling you what they're doing they're rolling the dice they're taking their they're taking their chances that no one's going to sign him to the active roster and they'll be able to claim him back and get him on the practice squad that's what they're thinking I'm not saying that that plan is full foolproof right proof that if something can't happen if somebody does sign him to the active roster I'm just telling you how hey so uh so so

47:15Chad Johnson:So I'm tripping to be over here thinking like, okay, cool. Joe Mildon balled out in the preseason, probably had the best passing completion percentage in the preseason. So listen, I'm thinking, okay, Dallas looking like hell. This man really ain't no number two. He ain't no damn backup quarterback. That's what I'm thinking. So they going to do him a favor and go on and waive him so he can sign another contract with somebody else. I'm tripping to be thinking like that.

47:41Joe Johnson:Yeah, a little bit. A little bit, Joe. Because, listen, it comes down to more than just having a big arm. There are other intangibles, other things that come into place when it comes to being a starting quarterback. And obviously Dallas didn't see the value in him, obviously. For the one to name Sam Howell as a backup instead of Joe Milton as a backup, there's something that we can't see that we don't know about that they can. Because if you're as good as you looked in the preseason, there's no reason why you would be the number two quarterback. There's no reason why. Hey, listen. There's more to the story outside of what we've been able to see.

48:14Joe Johnson:on film in the preseason.

48:16Chad Johnson:Bro, it's got to be more. I mean, Ocho, he got every physical tool you can ask for. I mean, you can't teach that arm. You can't teach that size. You can't teach that athleticism, bro. At some point, somebody going to give that man an opportunity to be a number one.

48:33Shannon Sharpe:I would hope that, but I'm just telling you what Dallas is thinking and what their game plan is in this situation. Maybe they save a few dollars with Joe Milton as opposed to Sam Howell. I'm not really sure, but I feel very comfortable in saying I believe they released him. Obviously, they wanted this running back. They thought all of this running back. They were able to claim him off waivers, but I believe they released him thinking and feeling pretty confident no one was going to sign him to the active roster and not being signed to the active roster, he falls back to us and we sign him to the practice squad.

49:05Shannon Sharpe:I believe that's what they, and Lord forgive me if I'm wrong, but I feel I'm right in this situation because I've seen it happen before. You know, you release a player hoping, like you're probably 85%, 90 % sure someone is not going to sign that player and put him on their active roster. Because you can't sign him and put him on the practice squad. You have to sign him to your roster.

49:24Joe Johnson:The funny thing about it, Joe, is he's played so well in the preseason. I'm willing to bet maybe another chance because he played so well in the other quarterback rooms that might have some insurity. You know, the number one is always the number one. The number one is going to be the star. They might feel he can come in and maybe beat the number two out. but this late with the season starting, what, we got a week and a half? They're taking a chance and they're betting that no one's going to pick him up.

49:49Chad Johnson:Wow. Hey, so hell, it don't pay to show out in the preseason. That man balled out in the preseason, bro. You mean to tell me this is what you got to deal with?

50:00Joe Johnson:And there's another factor that can come into play. You can correct me if I'm wrong. There was a situation in New England where Garoppolo was a quarterback and Garoppolo was playing well. And you know what? I don't want that over my shoulders. Joe, stay with me now. I don't want that over my shoulders. Just in case. So they got him up out of there. I'm not saying this is a situation like that, but with the way he did play, I don't really want him as a number two. In case things aren't going well, you know what everybody's going to be saying. You know what happens? Now that's another factor that's happened in the past.

50:37Joe Johnson:And listen, to get rid of that pressure, we gonna do this is Sam is Sam Howell gonna push Dak Proskot push Dak Proskot as no no pressure there I ain't got to look over my shoulder he ain't starting over me

50:53Shannon Sharpe:okay guys Sam Howell signed a one year contract two and a half million dollars he got 500 signed two million is fully guaranteed Joe Milton's contract was a million dollars that was a million

51:07Chad Johnson:dollars a year right but I think it was more than that for like...

51:11Shannon Sharpe:He signed a four-year, four-million little four-million dollar contract with New England. So the two-million that was guaranteed. But I just think when I'm looking at it, I just think this is the play that Dallas is. They're rolling the dice in this situation. Hoping they don't roll snake eyes or boxcars, but I think this is what they're going to do. Because I thought Joe Mills was phenomenal. You go back and look at his tape in the preseason. And he's played well when given an opportunity in the regular season. Rifle for an arm, not that you really need that in Cowboy Stadium because you're in a domed environment.

51:47Shannon Sharpe:But in New England, the way his balls can cut through the wind, the elements, you need a big-armed quarterback, especially when you play outside and you're in the Northeast, so you're in a place where inclement weather could be a factor. Weather can be a factor in New England, Cincinnati and Chicago and Pittsburgh and Baltimore. But I think that's the play that Dallas is in right now because there ain't no way, based on what you saw in the preseason. It don't make sense. It don't make sense. It doesn't. Ain't no way you saw what you saw in the preseason and thought Sam Howell played better than Joe Milton III did in the preseason.

52:23Shannon Sharpe:Now, I could be wrong, Dallas fans. Y 'all jump in the chat and let us know what you think. But it's hard to see. Watching that man deal the way he dealt.

52:31Chad Johnson:No. You ain't wrong. Hey, listen. Because I thought I was tripping. I said, man, somebody scamming my page or something. You know what I mean? I was like, they tripping. Ain't no way them folks done released a wave Joe Milton. I don't, hey, listen. I still can't put it together, bro. I thought they were doing the man a solid. You know what I mean? Yeah.

52:52Shannon Sharpe:Nah. Guys that good, they don't do them. Every once in a while, you might find a situation. Buddy Ryan did Chris Carter a solid while releasing him because he was, you know, he was getting high on drugs. even though CeCe had like 13, 14 touchdowns, did your buddy cut him? He could have got to have 13, 14 touchdowns. He cut him. But he knew if he kept him, he wasn't going to get clean. So he had to make him hit bottom. CeCe been sober ever since, and we know he's in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. So with that being said, every once in a while you'll find a situation where it's like, you know what, son, I'm going to do you.

53:30Shannon Sharpe:Coach Belichick did Jimmy G a solid. He traded him to Kyle Shanahan because he thought so much of Mike Shanahan, who's Kyle's father. He traded him for a second-round pick when he probably could have got a first-round pick considering how well he had played. That's doing somebody a solid, a real solid, because you put him in a situation where you know he can succeed. You cut a guy, the team with the worst record gets first dibs at him. Man, I ain't trying to go there.

53:57Joe Johnson:I don't know, man. That's crazy. Hey, but that's the business. It's a dirty business. It's a funny thing where they kind of make it a bad thing, you know, to play well, especially based on the situation.

54:13Joe Johnson:That's the only thing I can think of. Falcons, Browns, who else?

54:22Shannon Sharpe:Jets. Jets. Are we sure? he'd be the third or fourth best quarterback on those teams no we're not the falcons the browns no we're not we're not sure hey can you imagine him with his arms with those weapons in atlanta

54:46Chad Johnson:oh and he got that hit me under the hood too ocho huh yeah don't act like that boy ain't got that hit me under the hood now you know that boy get on up out of that now hey he got he got he got I got some tools with him. Okay, Ocho, I just, I'm thinking like, damn, you mean Timmy, ain't nobody going to claim this man, and they going to end up letting him go back to Dallas on a practice? That don't even make sense to me, bro.

55:09Shannon Sharpe:It doesn't.

55:13Shannon Sharpe:Hell, I'm not so sure he ain't better than what the Vikings tried out there. Okay, we know Kyler's good, but can Kyler stay healthy? My thing is, Ocho, can he stay healthy? That too, but you have to understand Kyler. But can you imagine Joe Milton throwing that thing?

55:26Joe Johnson:because you know a jitter um you got to remember we have footage on a healthy kyle murray and what he can do we don't have much footage on joe milton what you mean i got just as much footage

55:40Shannon Sharpe:on him being injured and then you got on him being healthy i bet you i do not you not understand

55:44Joe Johnson:what i'm saying coach i understand what you're relying on you know little flashes here and there i'm talking about a full body of work we have a full body of work on kyle murray that's why he's the starting quarterback. That's why they went and got him. And then you think about, what's the other situations you talked about?

56:01Shannon Sharpe:Atlanta.

56:01Joe Johnson:Okay. Now, that to me, that would be more ideal. Going to Atlanta, you have two quarterbacks that have an injury history. Seeing what that looks like, I can see that. Outside of that, the other situations, not likely.

56:17Chad Johnson:Hey, man. I think the Atlanta Falcon thing is so intriguing to me because of the high-power offenses they have. They got a solid defense, Arke Ocho, and if you got a guy at the helm, if Tua or Penix can hold up, I'm talking about they playing pretty good ball. They ain't got to be lights out. But boy, if they got somebody back there who knows what's going on, hey, man, them boys can go deep, man. They can go deep into the postseason.

56:46Joe Johnson:That's correct. I can't believe that. I mean, Joe, when I saw it on Twitter, I'm like, what? Yeah, me too. That's crazy. And the first thing that went into my head, you know what? We can't have a quarterback on the roster, active roster at that, that played that well. And if things don't go well, the first thing, the whispers are, oh, they need to put so-and-so in and see how he can do. I mean, but I don't think the Cowboys will even be in that situation where things are going to go bottoms out. Yeah. That's not happening. Not with those weapons and what you have, But just the fact that they chose Sam Howe over Joe Milton, despite how Joe Milton played, I mean, it's a dirty business in general, man.

57:29Joe Johnson:It has been.

57:30Chad Johnson:Because when you think about it, it ain't like Joe Milton one of the top five or top six highest paid backups. He ain't making that type of money, Uncle Ocho.

57:40Shannon Sharpe:He ain't making a million dollars a year, which is a bargain, a basement. A basement bargain. That's crazy.

57:52Shannon Sharpe:Bargain basement. My bad. Ocho, you got Calumers been in the league one, two, three, four, five, six, seven years. He's been fully healthy three years, three times. He missed three games. He missed six games. He missed nine games. He played all the time, and he missed 12 games. So you're banking on him being fully healthy, right? Yeah, absolutely. So are the Vikings. That's why they signed him. I don't know. No, that's how bad he was. That's how bad your situation was. Were you desperate, though, Joe? Yeah, you didn't do anything.

58:21Joe Johnson:Hey, weren't the Browns desperate? The Browns have been in purgatory for what, three, four years now? Because they were desperate. The NFL team. You know damn well the Browns ain't confident. Hey, listen, NFL team, Joe, they're desperate for the quarterback position. Anyone that has had any type of success prior to coming to their team, they're going to get him because of the small sample size of when Kyler Murray is healthy. Boy, he's hell to deal with. He's hell to deal with. I mean, he has an injury history. He has an injury problem. I mean, there's some other quarterbacks that do as well. You know, they've been injured.

58:53Joe Johnson:You know, I'm not saying any names, but hey. Yeah.

59:00Shannon Sharpe:And I think the thing is with Minnesota, they've been telling you this. They know they made a mistake letting Sam Darnaghan out of the building, but you can't do nothing about that. You put all your eggs in the basket with J.J. McCarthy, and on the way to the market he tripped and fell, and all your profit went out the window. So now, Ocho, we got to grab – we're hoping somebody does something that gives us an opportunity to quarterback. You know when they bring a veteran quarterback in there and the guy's a young guy. You already know what's going to happen, Ocho. We saw it with Richardson. And I was like, Ocho, they paid that man$14 million.

59:41Shannon Sharpe:How are you going to pay somebody more than what you're paying the guy that's been working there for years and think he ain't going to take that job?

59:47Joe Johnson:They know what's going to happen. Their mind was already made up. Their mind was already made up. It was already made up. And, you know, that might come into this situation as well. You know, we don't know because we're not at Cowboys camp. You know, the beat reporters know. Mr. Clarence, you know, he knows who played. Clarence, Jr. He knows, you know, who had the better camp, Sam Howard or Joe Mildon. I guarantee he would tell the truth. I know you're watching, Clarence.

1:00:10Shannon Sharpe:who had the better camp?

1:00:12Chad Johnson:All you got to do is look at the preseason.

1:00:15Shannon Sharpe:Well, yeah, hey. I mean, sometimes, I mean, they want us to believe us or our lying eyes.

1:00:21Chad Johnson:No, no, come on now.

1:00:22Shannon Sharpe:Come on now.

1:00:24Chad Johnson:Damn, that's crazy.

1:00:28Shannon Sharpe:I hope someone gives him an opportunity to be on the active roster and he gets an opportunity to play. Because I think he, but you know, the thing is, he starts all behind again, Ocho. Because guess what? I got to learn a new system and I got to learn it on the fly. As opposed to being, you know, ingratiated in the system. This would have been his second year in the system. Obviously, he's going, what, third year?

1:00:53Chad Johnson:Man. Hey, but he got them attributes that you can't teach. You can't teach them attributes that young man got, bro. He's going to come ready. You right about that? You know it.

1:01:11Shannon Sharpe:After earning a spot on the 53-man roster, OBJ has a new mission in getting his legendary 13 jersey back. Wide receiver Jalen Hyatt has won 13 the last three seasons in New York, but Hyatt was waived and signed to the practice squad. Hey, let me ask you a question, Joe.

1:01:28Joe Johnson:You paying for a number on the guy on the practice squad? I mean, the practice squad players should be willing to give that number up, especially if you're not on the active roster.

1:01:38Shannon Sharpe:he didn't give it up because number mother was bad I think I think he'll probably give it up now

1:01:43Chad Johnson:that OBJ is on the team but I think considering the fact that OBJ knew he had to work for a spot he probably wasn't really tripping you know I mean

1:01:53Shannon Sharpe:absolutely nah bro let the get let me get that let me get it so I mean oh OBJ look he look cool

1:01:59Joe Johnson:in the three the three three five now put him put it back in that one three he look he look good in

1:02:04Shannon Sharpe:three at every other place. 13 at the number in New York. That Giants uniform? Yeah. That'd be like you going back to Cincinnati and all of a sudden you're wearing 83. Yeah.

1:02:16Joe Johnson:I mean, you know what's funny? I mean, when you think about it, when you see that 13 in that Giants uniform, it resonates with Odell. Based on his first seven years in NFL. Wait, wait. First seven? First? Forgot how many years he was there. But I'm sure because his brother, you got to pay me something, Unky. You know how that jersey works. You know how that situation works.

1:02:37Shannon Sharpe:I give him a quick I give him a quick little five thousand. Hold on.

1:02:42Chad Johnson:They got rid of him though, didn't they? Nah. He on the practice squad. You said you give him a little five grand?

1:02:48Joe Johnson:A thousand? Yeah. Unky, you can't disrespect him.

1:02:52Shannon Sharpe:Disrespect him.

1:02:52Joe Johnson:Hell, that's better than nothing,

1:02:53Shannon Sharpe:though, Joe. He got the jersey. He disrespected my jersey by getting it. You know damn well you ain't supposed to get that jersey like that after what I done did there the first three, four years of my career.

1:03:04Chad Johnson:I'm with you.

1:03:04Shannon Sharpe:I'm with you. All I'm going to do, you're talking about I disrespecting him. I'm going to put the camera in. I'm going to say, see, look at this 13. This is what the 13 was. You got it. Now look at it right now. Yeah.

1:03:15Joe Johnson:Yeah. You disrespecting me? Give him$25 ,000. Oh, damn. Give him$25 ,000 for that 13. Hell no. You got to give him something, though. You can't. All right,$5 ,000 or something. That's disrespectful. That's disrespectful.

1:03:32Chad Johnson:That's crazy. the man on the practice squad, bro.

1:03:35Shannon Sharpe:Yeah! Ain't nobody gonna see it. You do realize, Ocho, on the practice squad, don't nobody see that jersey, right? But in practice.

1:03:43Joe Johnson:I feel you. I feel you. But no.

1:03:48Shannon Sharpe:What a bugger that I say. He tell me I give you a hundred headaches. No, hell no. I give five grand. That's all I got. Take it or leave it. Well, he gonna say leave it

1:04:01Joe Johnson:Because I ain't giving him a...

1:04:03Shannon Sharpe:You know what? I'm going to Harbs. Hey, Harbs, come on, man. Let's be real, man. What he should have done, as soon as they released him, I went right to the equipment guy. Woo!

1:04:16Chad Johnson:That's my idea. He getting at 13, though, right? He going to get to win at 13? No, Jalen Hyatt still got it, I think. Damn.

1:04:29Chad Johnson:Hmm.

1:04:31Shannon Sharpe:I give 5k. 5k looks like a holy mojo. That's a month. That's a, that's one month rent.

1:04:38Joe Johnson:Hey, that's disrespectful. It's better than nothing. Yeah. But even off of 5 ,000, you know, you know, okay. Give me the jersey for free.

1:04:50Shannon Sharpe:Damn it.

1:04:51Joe Johnson:I think 25, 25 grand is fair. And it's not that much based on what other players have to play. You have to pay for numbers 25. I think that's fair. That's fair.

1:05:00Shannon Sharpe:But you got to realize OBJ on a minimum contract. He don't want them big old contracts. The people come in there and they're not signed for$175 million and they got$65 million,$80 million to sign. Yeah, they can break him off with$25 ,000,$50 ,000. OBJ said, nah. Never. That's tough. That's tough. We'll see. Get that country bought nothing. Hmm. wide receiver Malik neighbors availability for week one remains the biggest question for the Giants that continue doing the press conference today when he said he feels good but there's still some things that you have to check off the box for you to participate neighbors added that he does not want to come back on a pitch count or with other limitations to what he's able to do y 'all know it I'll tell you one thing he gonna be look at Joe look at Joe but y 'all know we y 'all

1:05:54Chad Johnson:know when a guy comes back off injury he don't want no damn snap count he don't want no limp He don't want limited reps. He want to be able to go out there full fled and put on the show. Y 'all know that. Let that man wait till week three, week four before he come back. Don't come back. Nah, he got to wait week three, week four. Hey, Joe, you don't want to have to deal with him, huh? Well, I'm just keeping it 100. Oh, Joe, the man don't want to get out there and hurt himself. It's going to be prime time. No, no, no, no. Listen, listen, listen, listen, listen, listen. That's not what we said, Joe.

1:06:20Chad Johnson:It's going to be prime time against the Cowboys. The man going to be out there trying to go ham. It ain't probably going to go right for him. Just chill out, young fella. come back like week three. You know what I'm saying? Make sure you get that thing right. Okay, Ocho. Oh, okay. See, here you go. See, they ain't looking out for your well-being, partner. I'm just trying to help you. You not. Yeah, yeah.

1:06:42Joe Johnson:Joe, that man said, when I come out there, I don't want no pitch count. I want to go out there and play. The same way I was playing before I got hurt, I want them targets. I want them opportunities. He got to take your time there, Ocho.

1:06:58Chad Johnson:damn you gonna come back week one and get eight nine time come on man hey you

1:07:06Joe Johnson:will yeah huh and that often offense with the ball in the air you know who the first option is who no oh no what you mean who oh okay yeah you know who yeah hey man i ain't tripping brine i

1:07:21Chad Johnson:really ain't messed up i don't know what you got going on but i'm just saying number one

1:07:26Joe Johnson:I've done did a number of them Cowboys since he came in the league, now.

1:07:30Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. And when them other receivers on the other side, all of a sudden you get a boost of energy. I mean, when you played another two guard out there and he going to work, you got a boost of energy. Yeah. Yeah. That's what we counting on. Oh, Joe and I counting on him. Seeing CD and pick doing what they do. He get a boost of energy. Oh,

1:07:50Joe Johnson:you know, he went to LSU, huh? Joe. Yeah. Malik neighbors. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know what them LSU boys do every time they, you know, on a Sunday, huh?

1:07:59Chad Johnson:Ocho, just chill, bro. Just chill. Hey, listen, listen. I know you and Unk wouldn't want nothing else better, boy, than for my cowboys to fall on their face week one. I ain't even said that, Joe. I'm listening to your conversation. Listen to Unk. Look, look, look, look. Check him out. I wanted to fall.

1:08:18Joe Johnson:Look, see what I'm saying? See, that's Unk. That's not me. I'm just saying they won't be able to stop Malik. That's all I said. I ain't say nothing after that.

1:08:26Chad Johnson:Well, they ain't going to be able to stop what we got going. You steady talking about what all these other teams, oh, man, can they stop this? Can they stop? Hell, can they stop us?

1:08:34Joe Johnson:Yo, how many times have I said that already? I said that already.

1:08:37Chad Johnson:Hell, you steady act like we supposed to be scared of all these dudes. You talking about Nico Collin, Malik, Nables. Man, we not study none of that. All right.

1:08:46Shannon Sharpe:Are you sorry? You should be, Joe.

1:08:51Joe Johnson:Yeah, okay. All right. Woo! hey Joe I'm with you when you're right hey Joe I throw up the X too Joe

1:09:02Chad Johnson:yeah okay yeah yeah

1:09:08what you damn for

1:09:10Shannon Sharpe:the Rams announced they have 11 captains Matthew Stafford Kyron Williams Devontae Adams Tyler Higby Coleman Shelton on the defensive side Miles Garrett Kobe Turner, Nate Landman Landman Trent McDuffie, Quentin Lake and Joe Cardone 11

1:09:36Shannon Sharpe:nah nah I don't really see that

1:09:38Joe Johnson:one thing I like about it Joe I like your confidence boy yeah I like your confidence

1:09:43Chad Johnson:okay

1:09:46Shannon Sharpe:and they got one, two, three

1:09:49Chad Johnson:I'm still

1:09:52Shannon Sharpe:you tell me I'm seeing five on offense five on defense and two special boys and boys and boys well one special team damn yeah but that's all right don't don't worry about don't you worry about that you worry about who your captains are Joe don't you worry about what we what they you

1:10:11Chad Johnson:know what and I ain't I ain't worried about nothing they got going on because what we got going on but we is not finna be playing I don't know just pay attention I want y 'all to just be paying attention just keep your eyes open yeah

1:10:24Joe Johnson:well I'm with you I'm with you what y 'all not gonna do I'm with you hey Joe yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah we got something for you though Joe

1:13:34Chad Johnson:What's the difference?

1:13:34Shannon Sharpe:but uh man them bikes bikes are a little bit more sturdy they they were heavy as hell too they were heavy

1:13:42Chad Johnson:yeah yeah

1:13:45Shannon Sharpe:but I don't think do they got do they even have right there they got like 10-15 companies now yes

1:13:51Joe Johnson:I think

1:13:52Shannon Sharpe:make helmets for the guy yeah I think

1:13:54Joe Johnson:shut I might be I might be wrong I think shut might have might have taken over with all the new different designs you know for head injuries

1:14:04Shannon Sharpe:I got two teams, Ocho. That's all. I mean, Ocho got two teams. You got two teams. You got Phoenix. You really beat for Phoenix, Atlanta, and Brooklyn. So you got three teams, Joe. Man, listen.

1:14:19Chad Johnson:Tell me, Ocho go for the Dolphins? Yeah. Man, they going to be getting their eyes. Ocho go for the Dolphins and the Patriots. Man, they going to be getting their eyes beat out so bad in this shit here. They ain't going to even count. I ain't going to feel right messing with him about that. Hey, Joe, I mean, listen.

1:14:32Shannon Sharpe:I wouldn't even tell nobody.
