In short
The episode is a “Best of NFL News Part 2” roundup plus sports/business debate. Main topics: (1) NFL supplemental draft: the league won’t hold one, so Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby won’t be eligible to enter the NFL until 2027. The NFL letter cites lack of time to complete an NCAA investigation and “real concerns” about improper gambling patterns. (2) NCAA eligibility reform: Division I approves an age-based model granting five years over five seasons, removing redshirts/waivers, with limited exceptions (e.g., BYU missions, military). Hosts argue COVID-era eligibility extensions and JUCO transfers created “too many” years. (3) Turf vs grass: George Kittle criticizes teams using grass for the World Cup but not for NFL players; hosts discuss injury risk and maintenance costs. (4) O.J. Simpson: Bills reportedly won’t include him on the Wall of Fame; debate centers on business optics vs on-field legacy and legal outcomes.

2:42The NFL has informed teams that it will not be holding a supplemental draft, meaning that Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorensby will not be eligible to enter the NFL in 2026. The CBA allows league to decide whether to hold a supplemental draft, and this year it won't. To sum up a letter sent to Brendan Sorensby, the league wasn't planning on having a supplemental draft this year, and Sorensby's application was the only one they received. With Sorensby submitting only a handful of days ahead of the deadline, the NFL felt that it wasn't enough time to properly evaluate the situation and didn't have time to complete the record of an NCAA investigation.
3:23The petition did not have any supporting information or documentation as to why Soresby should be granted entry after being declared ineligible to play by college football. The league did make it clear that it had real concerns regarding the pattern of improper gambling activity during Soresby's collegiate career. The NFL used the word integrity several times within the letter in what appears to be an effort to drive home their stance on gambling. It closes the state by playing as a privilege and Sorensby should focus on preparing for a possible entry in 2027. Damn. So what is it? Listen, I know he made a mistake.
4:05Well, it's not a mistake. I mean, well, everything's a mistake. He just did it multiple times over and over because nobody knew. Nobody found out, obviously, until it was too late. But what does he do now? Well, he ain't playing in the NFL. He can go to Canada. Play one year in Canada. He can play one year in Canada, yeah. I wonder who has his rights, because that would be a good thing to do. Instead of taking the whole year off, go play a year in Canada. Boy, I mean, look. You should do that and get a better understanding on how good them boys is down there. Ain't finna be no walk in the park, I can tell you that.
4:39Hey, all them boys down there home ready, man. Hey, Joe, why went to Canada, boy, thinking it was finna be sweet? Hey, what happened, old Joe? What were you, old Joe? Who you play for? I was in Montreal with Alouez. Hey, Joe, it was the wake-up call every week, Joe, no matter who he was playing. I'm talking about Joe, I'm on the sideline, confused, like what the hell is y 'all doing down here? Yeah. I'm talking about Joe like that. You know? So think about it like this. The NFL. NFL has its premier elite players. Every team has their elite players. But when we talk about your backups and your role players, well, hell, that could be anybody over there.
5:19You can exchange players in Canada and put them on NFL team and you wouldn't know who's who outside of the elite players. Now, that's different. You know, your Jamar Chase, your Justin Jefferson, your Burroughs, you know, that's different. But the rest of them boys down in Canada, man, stop playing. They get down like that? Joe, I swear I wouldn't lie to you, especially when I would have come to no goddamn football. Them boys would play some ball, Joe. It either was politics or number crunching or I got in trouble in college, I didn't get an opportunity. You remember Cameron Wake started off in Canada.
5:54Yeah. In Miami, he ended up with 100 sacks. Yeah. Hey, Joe, you talking about a humbling experience, Joe? Yeah. I mean, I'm already on the back end of my career anyway. I think that had more to do than anything Ocho. I don't think your heart was in it anymore. You don't think so? No. Damn. Your heart wasn't in it anymore. It felt like it, huh? It wasn't. It wasn't. I shoot you straight. It wasn't. Your heart wasn't in it anymore. He boy jabbin himself. His heart wasn't in it. Hey Joe, I just wanted to finish on my terms. you know that's all you wanted to finish in your hometown and when that got taken away you weren't the same yeah and they took it away I might still get an opportunity you never know that's called my home maybe you'll sit your old ass down we about to put we about to put we about to put get a t-shirt with all three our hands on it you can sit your old ass down
6:59the NCAA Division 1 cabinet has unanimously voted to approve its age-based eligibility model. This will grant athletes five years of eligibility over five seasons, notably eliminating red shirts and waivers. According to the NCAA, Division I student-athletes will receive five years of eligibility if they enroll in college no later than the academic year following their 19th birthday. Limited exceptions will be granted for factors such as religious missions like BYU. Yeah. Guys normally take a missionary trip and they have to go abroad for a year. Military services. You're in the Army. You're in the Navy.
7:39You normally have to go do a bid. David a la David Robinson a la Roger Starback. Schools will have the flexibility regarding student-athletes who have remaining eligibility after the current academic year. At the discretion of each school, these student-athletes can either have an age-based model applied to them or continue to follow the original NCAA eligibility rules. Look, I think what happened is that COVID put this stuff in a team. Man, we shouldn't have guys gotten – you shouldn't get six, seven, eight, nine years of eligibility, man. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, guys. I just can't – a guy 26, 27?
8:22Yeah. No, no, no, no. Hey, that COVID killed it, bro. COVID killed it because a lot of cats went two years without playing and they still got that eligibility back. Yeah. And it's unfortunate because we didn't come up like that, bro. No. You know what I mean? Think about it. You can still, is it still that you can go to junior college for two years and still have four years of eligibility at a power five? Ash, did they bring it in? Okay, you go to junior college and still have four years? Because normally if you went to junior college for two, you had two left. Yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
8:55Now, it's been like you could go to junior college, do two years at junior college, and still get a scholarship to go to a Power Five for four years. Yes. And that's how guys are starting to be 24, 25 years old. Yeah. You know what I mean? Man, listen. This is a professional sport. Now, Uncle Ocho, we don't want no 18, 19-year-olds in here, man. Hey, hey, we don't want to. Hold on, Joe. We trying to win now. Yeah. We trying to win. Hey, listen, if you can help us win, we going to give you a little bag. Yeah, if you the upper echelon, meaning like if you top 20, you know, as a freshman, you probably could go somewhere and play.
9:31But outside of that, bro, just a normal regular old 19-year-old who could play, man, please. They ain't, they ain't. Yeah, but it's, I mean, guys 25. I'm out there. I'm 18, 19, and this guy 24, 25. Yeah, we paying too much money nowadays.
9:53up. Damn. Yeah, Joe, it's still. Following the recent landmark antitrust ruling and court actions such as Diego Pavia case against the NCAA, time spent playing at junior college level does not count against your four years of NCAA eligibility. Thus, effectively allows athletes to play two years of JUCO and then transfer, excuse me, play at JUCO and still maintain four full years of NCAA eligibility. Yeah. So think about that. Think about you come out of high school and you ain't getting recruited for real. You need to still develop mentally, physically, all that. And you can go to junior college for two years, prepare yourself.
10:32And then, look, when you come out of junior college, you're 21, 22 years old. Hell, you a grown-ass man now. Yes. Yeah. You don't think a power five is going to want you because you've been in the system already. Yeah. You know how to play. You know what it takes. You know to grind. You know what I mean? That's why they like, Joe. That's why they like guys. They like going into the portal because that guy already knows what it's like to be a college student athlete. I guess we shouldn't call them students anymore. They're called professional athletes. They just happen to go to college. But I'm like, come on now.
11:09I mean, they were doing too much. These guys had six, seven, eight. Guys 27, 28 playing college football? Yeah, hey, what's Young Bull's name from the Miami Hurricanes, the tight end? That was what Young Bull's name? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He had in school like, Joe, like 27. This past year? Yeah, hey, Joe, he been there for a little minute, boy. Damn. He done red shirted, medical red shirt, COVID red shirt. Yeah. Hey, can y 'all imagine being 27 out there on the college field? No. The way y 'all were probably cutting up in the league? Bro, I couldn't imagine. I would have scored a touchdown, Joe. I got to the league.
11:47I got to the league. I was 22 because I didn't redshirt. Yeah. And I was looking back. I was like, man, can you imagine if I was a college freshman at 22, what I would do to these kids? Right. I did this at 18, 19. Can you imagine, Joe, can you imagine your first two years in the NBA, you a college student? Yeah. Yeah. I average about 28 a game. Shit. What? It's just so much that you learn, bro, when you go pro. I was just getting ready to say that. You learn so much of the nuances of the game, like how to make the game easier for yourself. You learn great work habits, you know, and mentally, bro, you're just in a whole, a totally different space, man.
12:42That's why when you look at, watching college basketball, I'm like, man, boy, if it was like this when I was playing, damn. But I think the thing is, guys, now, because the guys, they make money, Joe, ain't nobody really, unless you like the top top guys, ain't nobody trying to leave. Oh, Joe, I'm trying to keep getting that little$500 ,000 million. We were trying, the only way you get that kind of money, you had to go professional. Now we're getting professional money at college. Yeah, and guess what? after your duration in college, that's it. A lot of them guys ain't going to never play the game again.
13:16Whether it's basketball, football, so you better take advantage of it while you're young. You know what I mean? Everybody ain't going to make it to the pros, Ocho. No. So, hey, if I can make me a couple of million dollars before I get there and give me a head start on life? Oh, yeah. Hello. Hey, hold on. If I don't make it... Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If I don't make it, give me a head start on life. Yeah. Hello.
13:42George Kittle spoke out against NFL teams being willing to use grass for the World Cup matches, but not for their own players via the NFLPA. We've made it clear that we prefer grass fields. We know it's better on our bodies, and clearly we know it's possible based on everything that went on putting grass fields for the World Cup in each stadium. At this point, it comes down to the NFL making it a priority and choosing to invest in us as players because our bodies are our business, which they get to capitalize on. Ocho, do you agree with Kittle? I mean, this has always been a real tough one for me too, Oconjo.
14:16And for me, you look at all the injuries, right? You look at the injuries when it comes to soccer, whether players are playing at their clubs or whether they're playing here at the World Cup. And the rate of injuries for them as far as ACL tears is so far few than the NFL. And most of the time we get hurt, it's on the artificial surface. And what do we say it is? We say we're tearing our ACLs because of the surface. So, I mean, is there some truth to it? Probably so. But one of the things that would happen is, is now you're adding more money having owners to have to pay for maintenance to the grass.
14:55Because most of the stadiums that have the artificial turf, you know, it's cold weather stadiums. It's where it gets cold at some point. Now, if you have grass, well, when you get the goddamn, you know, November, December and January, well, you have hell on your hands. I get it, though. I understand where kiddo's coming from. We've seen it countless times with players having injuries on the artificial turf. And I mean, for someone that never got injured and played on artificial turf, Joe, you know, my whole life in Cincinnati, I think I had grass my first year before they changed it. I just, I get it.
15:36I get it. Y 'all did, Ocho. As a matter of fact, I remember you guys used to have grass. Well, first, at Riverfront, you guys had turf. Yeah, okay. And then the stadium that you got now, because I remember my last year, I think we played y 'all in 02. Yeah, see, we already had, we had the turf. Y 'all had grass then. Then y 'all switched to turf. When did y 'all go to synthetic grass? I think it might have been. Like 05, 04, 05? It might have been 03, huh? Okay. Maybe 03. I can't remember. But, I mean, I didn't mind, Joe. Joe, I don't care what I'm on. But you might be on ice, but I'm going to run routes on ice, you know?
16:10Yeah. Hey, Joe, I— I'm saying, Og, did you have a preference when you played? Grass. Grass. Absolutely grass, grass, grass. And then, look, we always had grass, and the Chargers always had grass. Now, the Chargers, because they shared the field with the baseball, so you just hoped to avoid the Chargers before September. If you got October on, you know you're going to get nice weather and you're going to get grass. We always had grass. Kansas City had turf. Then they went to grass. The Kingdome, the Seattle Seahawks used to play in the Kingdome. That was turf. Then they went outside, and then when they started building Luminum Field, they played at Husky Stadium.
16:52That was turf. And then they got grass. And so, like the last couple of years, everything that I played on within my division was grass. Yeah. Then go to Baltimore. Baltimore was grass. Jacksonville was grass. Tennessee was grass. Cleveland was grass. Yeah. Cincinnati was the only one. But I think Cincinnati, by the time I got to Baltimore, Cincinnati was grass. But no, Joe, I didn't like the turf. because the old turf, now they call this field turf, but the old turf was basically concrete with a carpet rolled on top of it. It was hard, and you stayed with strawberries. You didn't really know how bad until you got your ass in the shower after the game.
17:43You go, ah, damn, what? And then have your ass red because you don't slid on that turf. It didn't appear to be. Hey, yeah. Your elbows and your forearms, your knees. So no, I prefer grass. But to Ocho's point, the upkeep and the maintenance of it, remember, the objective of any corporation is to make as much as we possibly can while spending as little as we possibly can. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. That's it. That's, that's, hey, output is here.
18:26profits up there. That's just the way it is. And like you said, plus also they do so many other things. They got college football games there. They got concerts there. Can you imagine? You got a concert and you got 70 ,000 people in there. Grass? Nope. That stadium, that concert stadium and people walking. eat that up so I get I totally understand I think the only two true grass is like Houston and Arizona because they roll them out on pallets hey Joe they grass so beautiful boy I'm talking about that low Bermuda grass Joe it's like I've been on the golf course once but it looked like that golf course grass, Joe.
19:24Yeah, St. Augustine. Because, you know, look, you got fescue, you got centipede, you got St. Augustine, you got Kentucky bluegrass. So it all depends because certain grasses grow different in certain areas. Some grass need a lot of sunlight. Some grass doesn't need as much sunlight. So you got to understand where you are approximately in the region that you live in. Yeah. That type of grass. See, that St. Augustine is a thick type of grass. Yeah. And some people like to kind of have that grass for their yard. You can't cut it too low because it'll burn. Yeah. And then some people like centipedes.
19:58Some people like fescue and the Kentucky blue. I don't know what Augusta National is. They say in Houston turf now. So they say in Houston it's field turf now. Tampa has natural grass. Okay. But all I know is I got tired of cutting all of it.
20:18don't push your love over my ground by yard oh yeah
20:26Drake flexed on IG that he won a million dollars betting on Canada to beat South Africa in the World Cup today after placing $707 on his country he walks away with a smooth profit of $231 ,000 yeah he how much he bet he bet$770 $770? $770 ,000. Oh. Yeah. But Harrison, Ocho, they scored with like a minute left and extra time. Yeah, on stoppage time. Stoppage time, yes. Yeah, it was a good game. South Africa had some chances too. They just couldn't find the back of the net. Hey, you can't even enjoy watching the damn game. You're spending that type of money gambling here. No, but for me, that don't make no sense though.
21:15I bet 770 to win 231 nah I need to bet 231 to win 770 right I don't know how y 'all look at it but that's how I look at it Joe and Ocho man I need to bet little to win a lot I ain't trying to bet a lot to win a little I'm saying Canada was favorite though wasn't it yes I think that's probably why if they were the underdog it would be a little different yeah yeah yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mmm. I turned off news altogether. I hate to say it, but I don't trust much of anything. It's the rage bait. It feels like it's trying to divide people. If we got clear facts, maybe we can calm down a little. NBC News brings you clear reporting.

24:21Ocho, got to know what you want to think about this one, Ocho. There we go. The Bills have decided not to include OJ on their wall of fame in the new Highmark Stadium. Wow. President of Business Operations, Pete. I don't know his last name, but his name is Pete. We have made an organizational decision that he is not a fit to display inside our new stadium and family circle. Simpson was the first player added to the Bills Wall of Fame in 1980. Ocho, do you have any issue with the Bills trying to erase football legacy of OJ Simpson? Well, listen, they can't erase football legacy. Now, they can not put him up there, but what he accomplished when he played, obviously, it's cemented.
25:05That's not going anywhere. So, them choosing, obviously, a business decision not to put him up in the new stadium and just based off all the stuff that happened off the field. That's all. And listen, what he did on the field can be erased. And the fact that they're not putting it up there and allowing people to view some of the things that he did for that organization back during that time, it doesn't matter. For those that know the game, for those that understand the game, for those that were around to watch OJ play, I didn't get a chance to see him play, but I understand what he meant for the game.

25:34I understand what he did while he was playing. I did. Commercials. Hey, the whole nine yards. But you have to understand. I did. Yeah. Yeah. From a business standpoint, Joe. Yeah. We understand why they're not putting him in there. We know. We know. Nah, nah, nah. Bring it down for me and Chad. We want to know why they ain't putting him in there. I mean, Joe, I mean. You saying they seen the documentary? You ain't seen the documentary? I seen it. Yeah, yeah. I mean, they don't, that's, it brings, not confusion, but if I'm building something new. Man. Especially like a stadium. That the one person, the one polarizing figure that's been a part of our organization that has had some unfortunate circumstances off the field.
26:25I don't want to bring that to my new place. Oh, so you saying he did it? He did. Hey, Joe, I wasn't there, Joe. I don't know. I'm saying if you watch it, Unc, I know you've seen it. Unc, what do you think? All I know is that this is what they tell us. Twelve men in jury, a jury of his peers, said he was innocent. Yeah, so he's innocent. The same thing they told us when George Zimmerman walked his ass up out of court. The same thing that they told us when these police officers go with 12 men and 12 women, 12 men and women, a jury of their peers, and they walk, they say the jury has spoken. The jury spoke.
27:05What do you think? All that conjecture, all that innuendo, all that speculation does not matter. Well. I ain't been to law school, but I took a couple of law classes. The first thing they tell you, it doesn't matter what you think. It only matters what you can prove. Hey. Hey. Damn it. And there's a difference between criminal and civil. In criminal, you got to prove it beyond a reasonable shadow of a doubt. In civil, it's preponderance of the evidence. When he went to jail for, huh? Taking his memorabilia back to him. Here's the thing. and this is what I didn't understand about him in this situation.
27:49Why are you laughing, Joe? Because it was memorabilia, Ocho. Here's the thing. The only thing that because he lost civilly. So anything, all the autograph signings, anything that he got, that money would have went to the families of the fallen people. Why are you trying to get that back?
28:10Okay, they stole it. So what? Hey, man, my merch got stolen. it's insured man would beat a whole murder case hey it wouldn't sit down yeah it wouldn't sit down he had good representation oh the best yes they're a dream team hey the best at that time Johnny Cochran, F. Lee Bailey he had Robert Kardashian he had
28:41Barry Sheck the Innocence Project how many I don't know how many people know but go check the Innocence Project and Barry Shack the best they call it the Dream Team it was the trial of the century maybe you gotta go back even further maybe to the Lindbergh child kidnapping I don't wanna get too far back but I'm just saying this is how big this was he got lucky though his ass got lucky if it weren't for that damn Furman His AA. His AA. Hey. All right now. The moment they put us on there was over because they didn't forget. Think about it. Everybody saw, millions and millions of people, saw what they did to Rodney King.
29:28Rodney King, yep. And they watched them walk out of the courtroom. A couple of years earlier, they saw what happened to Natasha Harlins.
29:43see when things happen to them they say respect this decision that it's 12 men and women had spoken yes sir but now all of a sudden y 'all know he did it I know a lot of people did hello nah I don't know nothing all I know is those men and women spoke and they said not guilty Yeah. But listen, even with that. And he said, hey, what did that mean? They said, you guilty. Then they said, I don't know. I wasn't there. They said, OJ said, if I'm not guilty, have me my gloves back. I just said that when he said that. I don't know he said that. I don't know he said it. Hey, innocent or not, you have to understand how those organizations think.
30:31You have to understand how those people that sit in the power think. Yeah, he played a part of the organization, but to us, he's still a stain and putting him in this new building, it ain't happening. Innocent or not. You're right, Ocho. You're right. There's too many red flags. I mean, for those in the chat that might be Bills fans or might say, whoa, Ocho tripping. No, I'm not tripping. I'm just thinking how they thinking. Yeah. I'm not thinking how we thinking. Like, if it was me, I understand what he did for my franchise. He'd be up there if it was me. But hell, I don't own the Bills. That ain't my stadium.
31:05I know how they thinking, though. Hell, now we ain't putting him in our new shit. I don't think anybody look we get upset but I don't think anybody's surprised because it's just like any restaurant any public building guess what they say we reserve the right to refuse service we reserve the right to put you up in this building or not
31:29that's just the way it is I mean I'm not surprised but you guys say you didn't see I'm old enough to remember if you played running back you wanted one number 32 you wanted to be the juice now I'm not telling you I'm not telling what somebody told me Joe I ain't telling you what I'm telling you what I know if you played running back you wanted 32 the juice was it I seen that Joe I had to watch the highlights to get a better understanding on how good he was He had it all. He had world-class speed. What? And he had a commercial. Before OJ, no black was doing what OJ. OJ was getting commercials. Movies.
32:21Car commercials. Yeah. He was the first in the movie kissing people. What? On TV? Remember him in the Naked Gun? You seen the Naked Gun joke? Yeah. I think Elizabeth Montgomery I think that was the movie that he was in No Juice was it and like I said I don't really talk about that situation but I'm just saying it seems to be that things happen blacks go to trial, go to court, and they get a non-guilty, well, you know he did it, but we just supposed to accept. We are supposed to accept when the jury says not innocent with someone else, just take it at that, the jury's spoken. Okay. That. But, you know, I heard all the story.
33:21I've heard a lot of things about OJ that people really knew him, and you know, Jay-Z had the song, says, you know, I ain't black, I'm OJ. Right. Yeah. On the 4-4-4-4. Sometimes you have to get reminded. Who you are. Yeah. Yeah. Bring you back down to earth, huh? Mm-hmm. What Kanye say? No matter how many, you still an end on a coupe, right? Mm-hmm. No matter what. Mm-hmm. So, but look, I'm not surprised by this. I'm not surprised that they took this stance. I was going to be more shocked had they allowed it to go. Yeah. Because if they had done it in the old stadium, you see that where everybody knows the silhouette.
34:09Man, that's what OJ's name used to be. So now in the new stadium moving forward, and for the most part, when you go to the stadium, I mean, I did. I mean, but how many fans, Ocho, Joe, go to a stadium and actually look, try to look at all the greats that played. I did. Yeah. Because I'm a fan. I'm a fan. I'm a fan of the NFL. I'm a historian of the game. So obviously, you know, you go to the stadium and you see, when you go to Kansas City and you see all these names up there, you're like, damn. Yeah. It's dope. It's dope. I like doing that. I like doing that. Yeah. And now, never thinking, though, Joe, when I set foot in mile high, that one day my name would be up there.
34:52Absolutely. And then one day my name would have the Hall of Fame crest next to it. Damn. I never in a million years. Ocho, Joe, I went to the Hall of – we played in the Hall of Fame game in 1991. I went in the building.
35:09I'm in the building, Joe.
35:14Ocho, you remember at the Pro Bowl, all the Hall of Famers that got selected would come over to the Pro Bowl. so you meet them at the Pro Bowl they have on the Hawaiian shirts normally they have on khakis and they shake your head they come out there at halftime I think now they allow them to come out during the Super Bowl because obviously the Pro Bowl isn't after the Super Bowl anymore and it's a thing they have it in Orlando or wherever they have it I think they had it in Vegas but that was the thing then I was like like I remember in 91 as a matter of fact we played the Lions in the Hall of Fame game.
35:52In the building, just having a good old time like, damn, man, it's cool, man. Man, look at it. They go Joe Green. They go this one. They go that one. Ain't even dawned on me. Hall of Fame ain't crossed my mind. Having my name up in the stadium ain't even crossed my mind. Man, I'm just hoping I can make me. Man, let me get me about two or three years. At least I can tell my kids I played in the NFL. I ain't lie. You know something? Yeah, man, I played and hey I got me two or three years on Joe man I had a nice little NFL career had a nice little run ain't a lot of people get to say they played in the NFL I don't give a damn how long they played 1 % man
36:34man but I'm not surprised hey it's like look it probably would have caused more of a distraction had they put it in there as opposed to them leaving it out you think so yeah I don't know about that one
36:56yeah man you see man Joe they bulldozed that house you do realize that right they bulldozed that house if you don't know if you don't know you'd never know that house was right where it was think about that
37:15they tore the house down they bulldozed it they built over it damn
37:28you know what let's go i turned off news altogether i hate to say it but i don't trust much of anything It's the rage bait. It feels like it's trying to divide people. 41:10The Lions have released Terry and Arnold. Arnold was facing life in prison on kidnapping and robbery charges. Arnold had his bond set at$1 million Monday in Hillsborough County, Florida. Judge Christopher Sobele, who added the following instructions, He's not allowed to contact the six co-defendants or witnesses in the case. He must surrender his passport within 48 hours. He was ordered confined to his residency in Tallahassee, Florida, except when he would be playing, training and traveling with the Lions or making court related appearances or legal appointments. The state asked the judge to require Arnold to wear a GPS tracking device, but attorneys argue that he would not be able to play football with such a device.
42:01another situation Ocho I guess he had an Airbnb normally I guess if you have an Airbnb you're supposed to have insurance on it somehow jury something got missing he felt the people that did it he knew who it was and what's being reported allegedly like they got some girls and they set the guys set them up and allegedly that's what happened but the police report says the people that they have that wasn't the people that did it from what they could deduce. Right.
42:49And look it's a tough situation. Look I know the attorney that he represents Harvey Steinberg Harvey's out of Denver. Yeah. Normally, Broncos, when they have a case, I don't know one person that's ever not had something go on in Denver that Harvey Steinberg didn't have with. So he is as good as you're going to find. So the Lions cut him, though, right? They cut him. Yeah, they let him go. I'm not surprised by this, Ocho. No, absolutely not. I don't think anybody's surprised by this. No, absolutely not. But you got to make better decisions, don't you, Joe? You got to make better decisions. Matter of fact, the people around you, the people around you, they also have to make better decisions.
43:31I'm not sure who I did was understanding, okay, something is missing. Something is going missing. There should be no retaliation for that, especially nobody that's under my umbrella. It's me being the golden goose. It's me being the football player. If anything does go wrong, it's all coming back on me. It's not coming back on y 'all. Some people ain't thinking like that, though, Ojo. I'm telling you, look, you got to look at this young man's situation. Clearly, he wasn't thinking like that here. He felt somebody ruined him. Hey, hold on. You think y 'all finna get over on me? He gonna try to handle it with his own hands.
44:07And obviously, that was the wrong thing to do. But some people don't think logically, you know, when something happens to you and you feel like you've been disrespected, bro. Hey, Joe, once you win that league, once you make it, and those that are around you gotta understand, once you're the golden goose, all that stuff you used to do back in the days, you know, when you ain't had nothing going on and, listen, somebody take something from me, alright, I gotta get it how I get it, okay, then I understand, but once you make it, man, listen, man, whatever it was they stole, you know what, man, listen, my homeboys, listen, we ain't gonna worry about that.
44:45We ain't gonna worry about that. Hey, we all know, that's how you should handle it, but hey, man, your influences around you are everything, bro. They are everything. They everything. So now you're out of a job. Because of the influences around you? Man, no. That should be the least of his worries. He could possibly spend the rest of his damn life in jail. That should be the most important thing. Right.
45:19Losing money is one thing. Trust me. Having your ass in jail is something entirely different.
45:28And like I said, stuff that, look, we've all said this. Somebody get the drop on you. Okay, I got a watch on. I got a necklace on. Somebody get the drop on you, bro. Here, take this. Yeah. I ain't tussling about no what there is nothing that's been created that can't be replaced other than life
45:55my life worth more than anything that I've ever owned
46:02I gotta make it home I gotta make it home to my kids I gotta make it home to my brother and sister I got people that love me if you think your family got drama I'm gonna wait till you see Little Brother on Netflix. You got John Cena playing a big-time real estate superstar whose perfect life gets turned upside down when his wild little brother, played by Eric Andre, comes crashing back into the picture. And trust me, Eric Andre is complete chaos. This thing got everybody in it. Michelle Moynihan, Christopher Maloney, Eggo Woldham, Sherry Cola, straight comedy heavyweights. The movie has outrageous moments, R-rated physical comedy, crazy situations, but it also has heart.
46:37That's what surprised me. You're going to laugh a lot, but underneath all that madness is really about family pressure rivalry and trying to hold your life together when everything goes off the rail if you've ever watched one of them luxury Real estate shows. Oh, they're having fun with that too. Watch little brother now playing only on Netflix Don't give a damn about no necklace button to watch about nothing car nothing hell I get out walk somebody pick me up they'll recognize man I look like Charlotte pull side of rope hey give me a ride to the creek
47:17damn man we just we we have to think we have to think differently we have to think smarter and we got to do a better job I mean we got to do a better job of protecting ourselves Let's let's let look Lauren Hill said something very interesting like last night if they not gonna respect us Let us not disrespect us
47:41We can work together we can
47:50Hey if anybody got to have a sound mind if the athlete's not going to have a sound mind somebody in your circle got to have it you right Ocho somebody um I told you hey Joe when we was young when we was younger during my day you know obviously I come up through the 80s and 90s you know that era you know how that era was you know what that was about me trying to be cool and wanting to be with all of them man if you don't get your ass from around here man this ain't what you do. That used to be how it was though Joe. We had structure and there was discipline. Even them boys that's doing what the people that's doing the shit that's wrong.
48:30Joe it was structure and discipline. You gonna make it out. If you don't rock on that side of the track you not even allowed to come ride in there. Nope. Somebody got to be in the right state of mind. Hmm.
48:50Could be taken away from you just like that, boy. Yeah, for sure. Hey, Joe, you remember Vernon Forrest, the fighter? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know you talking about him. Yeah.
49:06Try to track the guy down.
49:13Nah, man. And the thing is, Joe, Ocho, I don't even want nobody. Hey, y 'all, we cool. I grew up with you but how you move I don't move like that and because I don't move like that I can't have you in my circle I used to go around the corner and I stopped I ain't changed I'm still sharp I can still be sharp I ain't got to hang around here to do that
49:46and I appreciate them they like sharp come on man you know I can't let you ride the town because you get stopped I got the stuff on me the headline is going to be you all day long hey man they like when I go in there man I tell them that's my homeboy me and him went to school together I'm like well you know you can tell them that when they come out you ain't got to go in there to tell them you know what I'm saying hey bro you hey man they don't even believe me well when you come out when they come out come around here, my sister tell him, yeah, we wouldn't be all together. You ain't got to go back in there to prove that.
50:27But nah. Damn, man, Taryn.
50:35But Ocho, you said something very important. That used to be how it was. They protected us. Like, man, you ain't... Get your ass around from here. Exactly how it used to be.
50:52same one Joe still here yeah still here still here ain't gonna lie a lot of cats I grew up with man a lot of them gone too boy yeah like from the neighborhood like yeah yeah oh they got time yeah a lot of them ones that I grew up with like my age or a couple years younger than me oh they got time yeah and I don't what I don't get, if they do a nickel, get out for six months, right back. Do a dime, get out, go right back. I'm like, what is the allure that y 'all keep going back? Yeah, it's the hustle in them that they can't shake, bro. They can't shake that hustle, that fast money. They can't shake it.
51:39Gotta get back out there in the field, baby. And they, Joe, they love bragging. Man, we be watching. I said, man, I went to school with him. that's my boy they love I'm like bro you do realize you don't have to be in there to be proud of what I've done yeah we went to school because you know people come around and they come from different areas and sharp tell them didn't I play with you what did I do to sharp they gave me good man you know they're like if it's like if I say they're good they're good because they're like oh he played the pro so he said they were good
52:22Yes, I had guys that was probably the best athlete, one of the best athletes that I went in there was Frank Shepard. Me and Frank was like this here. He and I grew up, we went to the same church. You talking about a hell of an athlete?
52:46He could have played in the pros. He was every bit the athlete, if not better than what I was. Yeah, you see that. You see that coming up too, bro. Yeah. Hey, I done seen so many guys, bro, who I came up with. I'm talking about had talent at the wazoo. You hear me? But, man, when you don't got no structure or discipline with that, it's hard to make it, bro. It's hard to make it. Ooh, it's hard to make it. You know what, guys? What I used to do, I used to say all the time, man, if I made it, we from the same environment. I don't have any more than you have. You don't have any less than what I have.
53:28And I said, you know what? I stopped thinking like that. I said, because I had something that you didn't have. I had Mary Porter. See, while some of them moms and grandma let them do whatever they wanted to do, first of all that never even crossed my mind when papa was five and then when granny i think granny got a little bit more stricter because she knew he wasn't gonna be around so stuff that she might have let slide if he was around granny play that and then knowing what she had done for you know took raised her nine and then took my mom's three Yeah, I was used to suck the teeth here or there.
54:09I got to get popped. I ain't finna tell nobody I better bother my grandson. Because I ain't. But, man.
54:25Damn, CJ. But, Nightcap, do us a favor, man. Send thoughts and prayers to CJK, his family. CJ2K's family. I know he's going through it. I know he could use that. I know his family, friends, and loved ones, they could use that. But do that. I'm definitely going to make sure. I said one earlier today, but I'm going to make sure before I lay my head down on that pillar tonight, I say another prayer for him and his family.
