In short

NFL offseason talk and disputes, focused on Brandon Aiyuk trade/contract tension, Kyler Murray learning Minnesota’s offense, Michael Parsons’ ACL recovery and a family leak, Brendan Sorsby’s failed NFL entry due to gambling-integrity concerns, plus broader quarterback/contract debates (Falcons, Lamar Jackson) and media/loyalty commentary.

Guests/backgrounds

No formal guest list. The episode is hosted by Tony Ayo and Uncle Murda (“Ocho”), with additional callers/participants referenced as “Chad” in discussion.

Key claims

  • George Kittle warns teams considering Brandon Aiyuk that the 49ers still have his rights; Aiyuk’s public hints are framed as leverage/resentment after a pay dispute and injury.
  • Vikings did not “dumb down” Kyler Murray’s system; Murray is progressing through Kevin O’Connell’s complex verbiage, with JJ McCarthy competition continuing.
  • Michael Parsons’ brother allegedly shared recovery timing; hosts argue teams won’t release details and family leaks can harm rehab/operations.
  • NFL denied Brendan Sorsby’s 2026 entry; no supplemental draft, insufficient evaluation time, and “real concerns” about improper gambling during college; focus shifts to 2027.

Notable examples

  • Aiyuk’s speed/route-running (watched training; “stop on a dime”).
  • Kyler’s need to learn coverage/formation concepts (1-high vs 2-high safety, under/over fronts, 21/12 personnel).
  • Parsons’ projected missed time: “at least half the season” after a late-season torn ACL.
  • Sorsby: possible Canadian football route; hosts compare CFL adjustment to a “wake-up call.”

2:59Oh, Joe, we got some football now. George Kittle issues a warning for any team interested in signing Brandon Ayuk. Yeah. Last time I saw Ayuk was, call it week six, seven, or eight. I don't really know. I used to make it a habit of mine to go out early in the morning before meetings to watch him train because he always be out there early. And I watched him run over 22 miles an hour and stop on a dime. So he still got it, or at least that was a year, eight months ago. So I don't really know, but you guys have fun with that. I guess you have fun with all that comes with it. Ocho? Yes, sir. He had another IG Live something where he's posted, go, yeah, Commander.

3:40Right. What are we supposed to do with this, Ocho? I don't know. I don't know. I think, if anything, I doubt the Commanders are talking to him. Right now, the 49ers still have his rights. So if anything, he's just throwing out hints on where he would like to go by saying, you know, come on, commanders. I mean, it's a tough situation. It's one that I understand how precious the game is. I understand how fast the game goes by. I understand also how fast the game will leave you behind. Yes. And showing you that you are never bigger than the program. It's happened to some of the best. It happened to me.

4:14It happened to Antonio Brown. It happened to Randy Moss. It happened to Jerry Rice. It happens to all of us. So I think as these years go on and as these years pass by, I would hate for Brandon Ayuk to look back and think about the time that he wasted playing the game when he had the leverage. Right now, you had the leverage. It feels good. Yeah, I mean, it does right now. But there's going to come a time. You ain't going to have the leverage, nigga. You're going to be gone. Yeah, you're going to be gone. So right now, I want him to maximize the opportunity that he has right now and take advantage of that.

4:44You know, a young bull can play. He know he can play. And I would love to see him on the team and healthy and contributing on someone's offense and doing what he does best, and that's run routes and get people held defensively. I think the thing is this goes back to they didn't want to pay him. He ended up getting paid. He still harbored some of that. Y 'all didn't think I was worth the money that I was asking for.

5:17reported the Steelers wanted to trade for him. They shot that down. 49ers dead. They end up eventually paying him. Maybe he's not happy with the money that he got. We always think we're worth more than what we get. Yeah. Anyway, he got the money. He signed the contract. He was cool with that. Yeah. And then he gets injured. Eh, tough. If I was already hesitant to give you a chunk of change, and then you get hurt within six, five months of me giving you that chunk of change, Ocho, I'm going to feel some type of way. Yeah. You know what, Ocho? She's like, you know what, Ocho? If you don't marry me, I'm telling you what, you need to marry me.

6:01You apprehensive. You're like, ah, yeah. I mean, I like you and I really appreciate, you know, but. It's always a big but. Yes. But you say, you know what? you been here you know when I ain't really have a whole lot we done accomplished some stuff together I'ma put a ring on it you put the ring on it yes sir then you get a call hey Ocho man you still with old girl uh oh this where your heart drop when you get that call like that hey the heart drop I saw her ducked up in the cut. Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!

6:53You already didn't want to give it a ring. Now you say, you know what? I knew damn well I shouldn't have gave it a damn ring. One thing, hey, fellas, this is a small example. I know it's even though a hypothetical coming from up. Always trust your gut instincts. Yeah. If you feel it, if you feel it, come on now, Yeah. Yeah. You ain't got to be Cleo.

7:19And so I think that's the thing is, and you know, but here's the thing. Also, if you know somebody wants to fire you, guess what I'm not going to do? Give you a reason to fire me. Yeah. I know you want to take my money. I know you want to recoup some of this money. I'm going to go to rehab every day. Every day I'm going to go in there. Yeah. Hey, something happened internally. We just don't know what it is. There's no way that a player, you don't come from money. You weren't rich. You got rich because of obviously the services that you provided. And they compensated you for your services and you give the money back.

7:59Nope. Something we don't know happened. Players don't do that. You don't do that. It just it never happens. Like he has to be. He was really fed up. I just don't know what it was. I ain't going to be that fed up.

8:15And like I said, he was still feeling some type of way, Ocho, that I had to wait this long to get my money. Maybe I didn't get what I thought. They end up giving him the money. He gets hurt. Yeah, we should have trusted our gut. And now they got Byron's remorse. He didn't want to be there. I got to take this money. They're not going to trade me. They didn't trade me. Right. And as my grandfather said, boy, that's a match made in hell. and it is and here we are they're not they got the upper hand they voided all the money all the money that you're supposed to get Ocho they voided it

8:59and you know and listen and you got to be you also got to be careful because they're all band together you know they're all band together and won't get no job at all hey come on now

9:15they sure will young man get it together Brandon get it together Michael Parsons is now expected to miss at least half the season according to reports Michael could miss significantly more time than many initially expected as he continued recovering from a torn ACL he suffered late in the season for a Green Bay team that invested two first round picks and a record-setting contract in the superstar past Russia the latest projection is far from ideal. Mm. Isn't that what his brother put out?

9:50Ocho. Yeah. What did I tell you? Mm-hmm. About family members? Always. Every time. Why they can't do this, Unc? I don't know, man. I don't know why they - Oh, geez.

10:10you got one job be Michael Parsons' little brother or big brother that's the only job you got right

10:23damn that's his only job if the Packers want to release that information yeah Which they're not. You know teams don't release any damn thing. Never, especially nothing like that. No.

10:42I don't.

10:46I'm sure you love your brother. Your brother loves you. But some things should remain between you and your brother. The general public should not know this information. Right. if it comes to a we know he we had a good idea that he's probably going to start on the pub yeah especially come off it come off an injury like that yeah and we'll play it from everybody there that's it charlie's only job is to be your little brother yeah he got no boy he sister be my big sister my mom be my mom that's it we don't need to tell you uh man i think the broncos or i think the ravens gonna do really no put on the jersey to put the sharp jersey on and go to the game i i just i just don't get this and that's why and that's why oh you know I say, whether you want to believe it or not, anytime a family member speak, the people, where do you think he got that information from, Ocho?

12:02Chad, where do you think Michael Parsons got that information from that potentially his brother would miss half the season? Where do you think he got that information from?

12:16Hmm.

12:21that's why you don't talk. Anything you say, if Chauncey would have said something, Ocho told him. Family, friends, and loved ones, when they're close to, and they speak, people are going to listen for the simple fact that information that they're talking about, oh, they got that from Ocho.

12:49I just, I don't know the good that he thought that was going to, how does that help Micah's rehab? How does that help the Packers? Because at the end of the day, that's what it's about. Everything, my whole focus, how do I help Sterling Sharp? How do I help the Packers? Keep my damn mouth shut.

13:13damn my goddamn Michael man I wish he hadn't got hurt but he was well you know he had 12 and a half sacks yeah he he was he had just started to get he was starting this is why they paid him yeah what was that game he had had like three or four sacks and he closed the game this is why you paid Michael Parsons yo when he chased the quarterback down Yes. I forgot what game is. This is why you paid him. He was just starting to look like Micah, starting to look like, okay, okay, okay. And I be down. Praying for you, bro. Hey, keep your head up. Keep working hard. All you can do is rehab and come back stronger.

14:01According to The Athletic, Kyler Murray has had some growing pains learning the playbook and scheme in Minnesota. Everything here revolves around the quarterback. And the most notable aspect of the workout was Kyler's progression in Kevin O 'Connell's system. The Vikings didn't dumb it down the complexity for Murray. If anything, the team installed the full breadth of concepts and play calls to challenge Murray. He looked uncomfortable at times, working his way through the lengthy verbiage, downfield route distribution. but the Vikings believe that this will be the best in the long run. The competition with J.J.

14:35McCarthy will continue in the training camp. Barring a major setback in terms of health or scheme understanding, the platform should exist for Murray to prove he deserves to be the starting job in this offense with the loads of weapons. It's tough on a quarterback to learn a new system. Oh, yeah, absolutely. All that damn verbiage. Completely different. Now you got to learn the verbiage. now you got like oh maybe you have to shift the line now you got the concept down the field one two three check down you know it they take about a year or two for a quarterback to be extremely comfortable and know everything like the back of his hand and normally when he does that what is he doing ocho he taking all the reps yeah yeah and i don't i don't like the fact that they're still calling the quarterback competition it's not a quarterback competition they play they Listen, they brought Kyler Murray in there to start because we know what J.J.

15:28McCarthy gave us. We got a small sample size of it, and the small sample size that we did get, it ain't happening. It's not going to get us nowhere. That's why Kyler Murray's here. Yeah. Guess what? They ain't got brought no quarterback in in Denver to challenge Bo Nix. They ain't bring no quarterback in to challenge Jordan Love. They ain't bring no quarterback in to challenge Caleb Wilson. They ain't bring no quarterback in to challenge the guy up in New England. Drake May? Yeah. Drake May? Uh-uh. When they bring a quarterback in to challenge you, we saw that last year in Indy. And guess what?

16:07They brought the quarterback in to challenge, and guess who got the job, Ocho? Yeah, the one that came in. Hold on. Michael Penix, you on deck. You play baseball, right? You on deck. hey what do you think they brought two in you think two are gonna start over uh michael penning jr they didn't bring him in the backup it's easy it's easy because ocho i got to figure out this man gonna this is third year this man gonna want 200 billion this man gonna want 250 300. third year already yes golly chad who's gonna start to a penix chat what y 'all think let me pay this a little$2 million a tour. I'd rather play$2 million a tour and say, okay, tour, you start as opposed to letting Michael and I have to like, oh man, we got to pay this man $300 million and then get in the middle of it like, oh man, this is a terrible mistake.

17:05So the Falcons are basically right back at square one. I said that. For a long-term answer at that position. It didn't make sense to me for them to sign First Cousins. It didn't make sense to me. You signed First Cousins. You gave him this money. He's coming off an Achilles injury. Now, mind you, he was never mobile. And he was just less mobile with the injury. Okay. That being said, and you go – guess what? You draft a quarterback that has an injury history. And, hell, he's already 24. How was Penny? He was landing at 23-24. When he got drafted, it didn't make any sense. It didn't make sense to me then.

17:53It doesn't make sense to me now. But guess what? You're stuck. And just think, Atlanta Falcons, you could have put two first-round picks on. So let me ask you a question. Tell me the two first-round picks since Lamar Jackson had those tags on him that you take over him.

18:13You could have had Lamar Jackson. See, the thing is, sometimes you got to put somebody under the gun. Everybody's talking about what they know they're not going to put in those two first rounds. Put them on and see if they match. Because they got to match. Or he's yours. So would you rather have Lamar Jackson right now finishing up that deal at$50 million a year or you rather be going flip-flopping back with Michael Penney Jr. Tua and had Kirk Cousins? Chad, which would you rather have? Lamar Jackson or you rather have Kirk Cousins, Michael Penix Jr. or Tua. Which would you have rather had?

18:50And that's a small example too that I just mentioned about the good boys colluding against you. That situation with Lamar. When he had an opportunity with teams and anybody that didn't need the quarterback that came and got him but everybody sat back and had the nerve and say oh nah we good. especially Arthur Blank like come on man but they had the memo D Smith there was a memo floating around right stand down okay okay okay okay but we gotta stay on the good side my bad my bad but I can assure you everybody in Atlanta and I said it at the time you get Michael Vick 3.0 with Lamar Jackson in that building, on that turf, with that fan base.

19:46Oh my goodness. Can you Chad, can y 'all imagine Lamar Jackson in that building on that turf with that fan base, with y 'all?

20:04Hey, it'd be And you wouldn't even put two first round picks two if lamar jackson is what lamar jackson is guess what those picks are gonna be in the 20s

20:23damn just the thought of that you get you had michael vick and you get lamar another experience 2.0 that's what i would call it because that Michael Vick era it was an experience you had to be there it's like going to the fair ain't no telling what's going to happen but it's going to be exciting

20:49yeah

20:54who hard in the fair get better every year

21:02I couldn't believe Atlanta and then put that tag on him. I'm going to put him under the gun. All they can do is match it. All they can do is say, no, we're going to pay him. Right. Put two first, hey, we're going to put it, hey, we got an offer,$250,$265. I put a poison pill in it. I would. I put a poison pill in it. Right. I'd have guaranteed the whole contract.

Read the full transcript

21:32We're to no trade.

21:37that's how you do you put that poison pill when you don't want somebody to match it I put that poison pill in there damn 265 with no trade clause fully guaranteed

21:53then Lamar would have gotten an opportunity to see how he's like hold on all these other quarterbacks ain't nobody had to go like I had to go Joe got his money Herbert got his money Lawrence got his money Josh Allen got his money Man they done gave my homeboy two contracts And I understand that I understand As a matter of fact don't even bring my homeboy up Because he's set to his side But guess what Last I checked Josh Allen ain't been to no Super Bowl Neither has Trevor Lawrence Neither has Justin Herbert So I'm just trying to figure out why I gotta go through all this To get my money

22:34that's how Lamar's look I'm telling you how he's looking at it yeah

22:41that he's gonna be the consummate pro hey it's gonna get done when it gets done I'm out here to do my job I have an agent who happens to be his mom hey they're gonna the Ravens and everything's going to take care of itself.

22:58First of all, why are we having a conversation? We should be talking about this new offense, not whether or not if and when I'm going to get a contract extension.

23:10No, he's going to get it before the season starts. I can tell you that. I hope so.

23:20you see the market now my homeboy 64 million

23:27Lamar looking at that say I want 65

23:32you want you want to reset the market that's how he's thinking that's how his agent is thinking right now 64 ain't gonna last forever no because you got Joe Burrow good do what Joe Burrow Joe Burrow going back to the table next year yeah Joe Burrow how Dak Prescott do what they think they're gonna do Dak Prescott's going back to the table right oh ain't nobody sitting pat

24:04it's going to be very interesting to see how this thing plays out but me personally I kind of thought Kyler would kind of be more in the cat bird seat right now Ocho I understand that look it's OTAs but

24:22the question is

24:28given his history does he understand how to study not to say he's not smart from a quarterback perspective right especially going to imagine when the offense ain't built for you

24:48you gotta learn to totally just think you gotta go to a foreign land and you ain't got no interpreter

24:58you gotta start from scratch boy that's difficult no no no no no this what is this called that's the thing that's the thing it's people like because i didn't oh we didn't have we didn't really have film study we just have played call out the plays and run i didn't know how to study i didn't know what i'm like Okay, man, what am I looking at? Right. Man, I just see people running around and they throw him the ball. What's going on? So who am I supposed to watch? I'm supposed to watch the offense or the defense? I ain't know. No, you watching the defense. Okay. He throwing the ball, he tackled him.

25:44What am I supposed to look at? No, you're supposed to look at the coverage they're in. How do I know that? There ain't nobody say nothing. I don't got no sound. How the hell am I supposed to know what coverage they're in? They ain't telling me nothing. you have to learn all of that. Oh, yeah. It wasn't until Coach Reeves says, Shannon, the front. A lot of times, the front will tell you the coverage because they're going to play a certain coverage behind a certain front. So if you can understand the front, it'll give you a head start on the coverage. So they're in the under front, or they're in the over front, or they're in the 3-4, because when they're in the 3-4, they like to play these couple of coverages.

26:29Now you got to look at where are they on the field. Where are we on the field? They like to play this coverage from, say, the 20 to the 50. They like to play this coverage from the 50 to the 20. They like to play this coverage inside, the 20 going in. Okay? Now you got to look at what formation are you in? Are you in 21 personnel? two wide receivers, a tight end, two running backs. Are you in 12 personnel? Are. So once they broke it down like that, I'm like, okay, okay. Oh, you couldn't tell me nothing, don't you? Oh, yeah, I know what y 'all is. I know what y 'all is. Hey, that's one of the greatest feelings in the world.

27:15What is it? Come out that huddle and see whether it's a one high safety or two high safety and all that bluffing and all that coming down and acting like you coming. Man, get on out of here, man. I already know what it is. Let's go. Yeah, I don't care all that bouncing around. Bro, stop that. You ain't coming. All you doing is making yourself tired a mile high. Back on up because all you're going to do is drop to the hook. Man, how you... Cause, why would you come and that safety still way back there? You think that safety going to just let me take off the ball and just turn around and he pop it to me?

27:52Absolutely not. Because if you was coming, he'd have been bringing his funky ass down. And since he didn't, as a matter of fact, y 'all going to the other side because he about to go to the middle of the field. We're having a whole conversation, Ocho. You're not coming. How you know, Sharp? How you know? Well, first of all, you're talking to me.

30:57We cruised around L.A. in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and dove into the fascinating life of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr. Want the full story? Take a listen. Hedy, she starts dating Howard Hughes, the aviation tycoon. Do you know a lot about him? I mean, I watch The Aviator, so I know everything Leonardo DiCaprio has allowed me to know about him. But incredible innovator. Right. She says he's a, quote, very strange man. But they do get along really well. Give us examples. I know. They do get along intellectually. And in fact, she helps him design a faster plane. She takes a look at what he's designed.

31:32It's got these square wings. And she's like, that doesn't make sense. And so she finds the fastest bird and the fastest fish and sketches out a drawing of like what the two would look like as a plane. And that becomes the plane that we know today. And he calls her a genius. Check out our new episode spotlighting groundbreaking innovators like Hedy and Lamar and Billie Jean King. Presented by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Goodbye.

32:01AJ Brown has been impressed by Drake May. I think what's most impressive to me is that he knows what he's doing. I really admire that he knows what he's talking about, and he demands everyone else know. And, well, he's a true leader of men. And a little shot, a little low-key shot. Come on. I'm about to ask Ocho, because I know Ocho. Ocho, what you thinking, Ocho? Tell me what you thinking, Ocho. Because you'll be straight. Hey, can he not give his quarterback? Can he not? He was asked a question. Allow him to be able to answer the quarterback and give his quarterback praise. That's all. You know, he ain't got to be why he didn't get his other quarterback praised like that.

32:36Yeah. He ain't got to be him and the other quarterback that won the Super Bowl. You know, did he say he know what he doing? And AJ, hold on, Jalen Hurst know what he's doing. He got a ring. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, so, so, so let's just say for the sake of argument. He talk about Drake May. Hold on, let me finish. Ocho. Focus, man. Hey, so let's just say for the sake of argument. If we just do a hypothetical here. Oh, Cal Bowie, you know you a Cal Bowie. Y 'all don't see eye to eye anymore. Yeah. If she say to that guy, oh, I know him. Oh, he know what he doing. He a real man. Oh. Oh, AJ don't shout at me.

33:16Oh, she, hey, he talking, can she give up new man credit? Yeah. No. Yeah. Hey, Joe, look at it, Joe. Joe, look at it, Joe. I, I, I. It is what it is. It is what it is. It seems to me, Ocho, after peeling about some layers and allegedly what transpired, I don't know how true it is. And we got to say allegedly there is no love lost between. And everything that he says is going to be split, sliced. Right. Dissected. Yeah. Autopsy. Yeah. Or him from above. Yeah. He would ask a question about his quarterback. what his quarterback looks like. He's been there maybe a week, a week and a half now, maybe two weeks.

34:04And he wants to know how things look. And obviously, you know, we've seen Drake May play last year. He's a very, very good quarterback. He is. If he continues to have another season like he had last year, we're going to have to have conversations about him being in the top 10, which some might put him in right now, with consistency. So, I mean, A.J. Brown, he's working with a new quarterback, and he was asked what it's like playing with him. He just gave an honest answer. That's all. Yeah, I think. Come on, man. But you know how it is, Ocho. You got to be real. Hey, you got to be real careful.

34:37Yeah, yeah. Because when you went and played with Tom, you knew that anything that you said to praise, you had to be very, very careful because it was going to be taken as a shot that you was taking at Carson. Yeah. You knew that. Yeah. You know how. The one thing, let's see, y 'all let Ocho fool y 'all. Ocho played dumb sometime on television. Ocho ain't dumb. Yeah, he know how to do that with the fans. Hey, you look at him. Hey, man, you come on now. Hey, you got to understand, I'm extremely media savvy when that camera's talking about that. I think I'm asking certain questions. I know how to play that game.

35:08Yes. Look, look. Look, hey, when I got traded from Atlanta and went to Brooklyn, I'm playing with Darren Williams. Jeff Teague even talked about it. I was like, damn, I'm getting a chance to play with an all-star caliber point guard, a hell of a point guard. Teague took offense to that. Yes, of course. He said he took offense to that, Ocho, that I said that I was going to play with a hell of a PG. Yeah, he took offense to it. And this is my man's. Yeah. You feel me? So y 'all can say what y 'all want. Jalen Hurts is going to take offense to that, bro. Now, he may not come out publicly and say it.

35:45He's going to say it. But it's human nature, bro. Yeah.

35:50Hey, when they ask me a quarterback, what I always say, Ocho? What quarterback would I say? Who the top quarterback? What I say? I ain't no damn fool.

36:02Man, they tell me what I had. They tell me the plays I had to run. They ain't throw me no touchdown. I ain't catch one pass from them. I wish I might put somebody in front of seven. I don't give a damn what they say. I don't care what their numbers are. Somebody can have 1 ,000 touchdown passes. Yeah, yeah. And 100 passing yards. Yeah. 100 ,000 passing yards, excuse me. Nope. that's why you have to be very very careful of what you say you do because you listen we and i just having a conversation you know how everybody else gonna take it y 'all can say i'm messy all you want to but i'll tell you joe said it i said it ocho said it yeah that you have to be careful yeah it's a slippery slope and it's very slippery so some of the players when you ask them questions they don't understand that slope.

36:51Nope. They don't understand it. They're just answering the question harmlessly, not understanding how media pundits and those that hear the way it's answered, and they're going to intertwine it and say, well, hell, are you taking a shot at your old quarterback? Yeah. That's exactly what they're going to say, Ocho. Yeah. They said the same thing as, look, man, look, I appreciate Dan Reeves. Dan Reeves drafted me. But if y 'all want me to say something bad about Dan, that ain't going to happen. That man gave me an opportunity. Right. I said hey he was smart enough to draft me but somehow he forgot to cut me I wish I might say something kick rocks kick rocks if I ain't nothing else I'm going to be loyal to people that gave me an opportunity that goes without saying everybody don't operate like that though huh that's the problem though Joe that's been my problem them.

37:49Because I try to see the good in everybody. And I do believe that there is good in everybody. But, but that good might be so far down and that bad so far up by the time you get to the good they don't deal the number with you. I know what you mean, boy. Experiences, boy. I'm talking about how I done been there. I'm talking about dealing with some people. I swear I wish I'd never even talked to them. You hear me? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. I know exactly what you mean. But you know what, Joe? No good D goes unpunished. You ain't never lie about that. No good D goes unpunished. Man. But I just it's just it's just hard for me in a situation, Ocho, when I've had such great success.

38:44with an individual. It's just hard for me to just, no matter how it ends. And I get the skip. Bro, prior to me nobody, no athlete had ever done a debate. They had segments. A basketball guy come talk basketball. A football guy would come talk football. They'd bring somebody in to talk golf. They'd bring somebody in to talk this, X, Y, and Z. I was the only one to sit across from a journalist five days a week, two and a half hours a day. Even when Fox said, no, we want to get a journalist, Skip says, no, he can do it. I want him to sit across from me. Yeah.

39:29Yeah, it's hard for me to let a few bad episodes of him and I letting our emotions get the best of us ruin seven years. That's just me. You might ask him, he might feel a totally different way. But I'm talking about me. That man believed in me. That man rolled for me. And that man wasn't going to take the job until they said, hey, I want him. And he wanted me, after one time, I did one show across from Skip. One show at first take.

40:05With no producers, no runners. It's just, it's like, well, you need to think. I said, no, I'm good. What do you want to talk about? whatever he want to talk about. We end up going through production meetings. I'm giving my feedback. He's like, you going to say that on there? I say, I absolutely going to say it on there too. Might add a little bit more to it. Absolutely. So I'm forever, forever grateful for the opportunity because I'm not here. I don't have this. If Skip doesn't allow me on his platform and allow me to be me, because that was the thing. He said, be you. be you. I don't think he thought me what really came with me until it was too late.

40:51And everybody was too late. Everybody loved it. He didn't, I mean, he didn't think the gold, I didn't think the gold mask. I mean, when I showed up with the stocking cap and the blackened mouth, I was like, this was a one-time thing. It went very crazy. Yeah. And then I showed up with the gold mask. Yeah. And it went crazy again. man look like I said we have we had a couple of bad shows where we allowed our emotions to get the best of us but two shows three shows four shows bro we doing 200 shows a year yeah we did 200 shows a year we took two weeks off we got two weeks off we're going five days a week so at work maybe we We went dark.

41:38They had something. They had World Cup or they had NASCAR. But for the most part, we go in every day. We did 250 shows a year. Damn. Minus the week, minus the two weeks we got off. That's the minus the two weeks. Okay, there it is. So out of 250 shows a year, seven, so out of damn near 1 ,500, 1 ,600 shows, we had four bad days. but it gave me the platform and people got an opportunity to see me in a totally different light. They got an opportunity to see, well, damn, he do no stuff. Yeah. Man, he can talk about anything. Cause I knew I had to succeed or they go say, well, hell, if he couldn't do it as much as they say he studied, who can do it?

42:32Right. Right. And then the Colin Kaepernick, most people didn't want to touch it Skip's like hey can you talk about this I was like absolutely we have the Terrence Crutcher can you talk about that can you talk about Eric Gardner can you talk about Sandra Bland can you talk about George Floyd Walter Scott yes yes I can talk I would love to glad that you asked I'm going to put this old history degree in this black college I'm going to put it to use I didn't think I was going to have to put that to you Joe and Ocho yeah okay yeah I can make fun of you I got jokes that's a part of me but when it comes time to get serious and we talk about a serious subject absolutely but and I told Skip I remember the last day because I knew I wasn't going to come back in March

43:35and it asked me, I said, look, I'm going to finish. Let me finish when I started. I said, it's not going to look good if I leave now. I'll finish. Hey, after the NBA finals, I'm out. We're going to keep this thing. Hey, we're going to keep it going. I ain't got no hard feelings. It is what it is. Plus, y 'all owe me another year anyway. Nah, bro, I'm cool. Hey, speaking of that, you see your girl tonight, Jenny Taft? She was a commentator. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She done let her hair grow. Not the home team. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I call her home team. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Jenny from Minnie.

44:18Yeah. Man, she is as, look, I've worked with, of all the moderators that we've had, Obviously, Joy and Jenny and Jen Hale. Who else did we have? We had Oscar De La Hoya's girl now. Holly Saunders. And we have Pink, Christina Pink. We had Williams. I mean, we had so many. Ellica Zedegi. We had Jamie Maggio. Jen Hale. Yeah, Jen Hale. I mean, home team. 50:03The NFL has informed teams that it will not be holding a supplemental draft meaning that Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Soresby will not be eligible to enter the NFL in 2026. The CBA allows league to decide whether to hold a supplemental draft, and this year it won't. To sum up a letter sent to Brendan Sorensby, Brendan Sorensby, the league wasn't planning on having a supplemental draft this year, and Sorensby's application was the only one they received. With Sorensby submitting only a handful of days ahead of the deadline, the NFL felt that it wasn't enough time to properly evaluate the situation and didn't have time to complete the record of an NCAA investigation.

50:45The petition did not have any supporting information or documentation as to why Soresby should be granted entry after being declared ineligible to play by college football. The league did make it clear that it had real concerns regarding the pattern of improper gambling activity during Soresby's collegiate career. The NFL used the word integrity several times within the letter in what appears to be an effort to drive home their stance on gambling. It closes the state by playing as a privilege and Sorensby should focus on preparing for a possible entry in 2027. Damn. So what is it? Listen, I know he made a mistake.

51:26Well, it's not a mistake. I mean, well, everything's a mistake. He just did it multiple times over and over because nobody knew. Nobody found out, obviously, until it was too late. But what does he do now? Well, he ain't playing in the NFL. He can go to Canada. Play one year in Canada. He can play one year in Canada, yeah. I wonder who has his rights, because that would be a good thing to do. Instead of taking the whole year off, go play a year in Canada. Boy, I mean, look. He should do that and get a better understanding on how good them boys is down there. Ain't finna be no walk in the park, I can tell you that.

52:01hey all them boys down there home ready man hey joe why went to canada boy thinking it was finna be sweet hey what happened old joe what were you old joe who you play for and i was i was in montreal with that with alouette okay hey joe it was the wake-up call every week joe no matter who he was playing i'm talking about joe i'm on the sideline confused like what the hell is y 'all doing downhill. Yeah. I'm talking about Joe like that. You know? So think about it like this. The NFL. NFL has its premier elite players. Every team has their elite players. Yeah. When we talk about your backups and your role players, well, hell, that could be anybody over there.

52:40You can exchange players in Canada and put them on NFL team and you wouldn't know who's who. Damn. Outside of the elite players. Right. Now, that's different. You know, your Jamar Chase, your Justin Jefferson, your Burroughs, you know, that's different. but the rest of them boys down in Canada man stop playing they get down like that hey Joe I swear I wouldn't lie to you especially when not when it comes to no goddamn football them boys can play some ball Joe it either was politics or number crunching or I got in trouble in college I didn't get an opportunity because you remember Cameron Wake started off in Canada yeah in Miami he ended up with 100 sacks yeah hey Joe you talking about a humbling experience Joe yeah I mean, I'm already on the back end of my career anyway.

53:27I think that had more to do with it than anything, Ocho. I don't think your heart was in it anymore. You don't think so? No. Damn. Your heart wasn't in it anymore. It felt like it, huh? It wasn't. It wasn't. You better know. I shoot you straight. It wasn't. Your heart wasn't in it anymore. He boo-jabbing himself. His heart wasn't in it. Hey, Joe, I just wanted to finish on my terms. You know, that's all. You wanted to finish in your hometown. And when that got taken away, you weren't the same. They took it away. I might still get an opportunity. You never know. That call might come. Maybe you'll sit your old ass down.

54:09We about to put your t-shirt with all three of our hands on it. You'll sit your old ass down.

54:20the NCAA Division I cabinet has unanimously voted to approve its age-based eligibility model this will grant athletes five years of eligibility over five seasons notably in eliminating red shirts and waivers according to the NCAA Division I student athletes will receive five years of eligibility if they enroll in college no later than the academic year following their 19th birthday Limited exceptions will be granted for factors such as religious missions like BYU. Yeah. Guys normally take a mission every trip and they have to go abroad for a year. Military services. You're in the Army. You're in the Navy.

55:01You normally have to go do a bid. A la David Robinson, a la Roger Starback. Schools will have the flexibility regarding student-athletes who have remaining eligibility after the current academic year. At the discretion of each school, these student athletes can either have an age-based model applied to them or continue to follow the original NCAA eligibility rules. Look, I think what happened is that COVID put this stuff in a team. Man, we shouldn't have guys gotten, you shouldn't get six, seven, eight, nine years of eligibility, man. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, guys. I just can't – a guy 26, 27? Yeah.

55:45No, no, no, no. Hey, that COVID killed it, bro. COVID killed it because a lot of cats went two years without playing and they still got that eligibility back. Yeah. And it's unfortunate because we didn't come up like that, bro. No. You know what I mean? Think about it. You can still – is it still that you can go to junior college for two years and still have four years of eligibility at a power five? Ash, did they bring it in? Okay, you go to junior college and still have four years? Because normally if you went to junior college for two, you had two left. Yeah, but that's what I'm saying. Now, it's been like you could go to junior college, do two years at junior college, and still get a scholarship to go to a Power Five for four years.

56:24Yes. And that's how guys are starting to be 24, 25 years old. Yeah. You know what I mean? Man, listen, this is a professional sport. Now, Uncle Ocho, we don't want no 18, 19-year-olds in here, man. Hey, hey, we don't want no. Hold on, Joe. We trying to win now. Yeah. We trying to win. Hey, listen, if you can help us win, we going to give you a little bag. Yeah, if you the upper echelon, meaning like if you top 20, you know, as a freshman, you probably could go somewhere and play. But I would say five-star. But outside of that, bro, just a normal regular old 19-year-old who could play, man, please.

57:00They ain't paying. Yeah, but it's, I mean, guys 25. I'm out there. I'm 18, 19, and this guy 24, 25. Yeah, we paying too much money nowadays.

57:15Damn. Yeah, Joe, it's still. Following the recent landmark antitrust ruling and court actions such as Diego Pavia case against the NCAA, time spent playing at junior college level does not count against your four years of NCAA eligibility. thus effectively allows athletes to play two years of JUCO and then transfer, excuse me, play at JUCO and still maintain four full years of NCAA eligibility. Yeah. So think about that. Think about you come out of high school and you ain't getting recruited for real. You need to still develop mentally, physically, all that. And you can go to junior college for two years, prepare yourself.

57:54And then, look, when you come out of junior college, you're 21, 22 years old. Hell, you a grown-ass man now. Yes. Yeah. You don't think Power 5 is going to want you because you've been in the system already. Yeah. You know how to play. You know what it takes. You know to grind. You know what I mean? And that's why they like. That's why they like, Joe. That's why they like guys. They like going into the portal because that guy already knows what it's like to be a college student athlete. I guess we shouldn't call them students anymore. They call professional athletes. They just happen to go to college.

58:28But I'm like, come on now. I mean, they were doing too much. These guys had six, seven, eight. Guys 27, 28 playing college football. Yeah, hey, what's Young Bull's name from the Miami Hurricanes, the tight end? That was what? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He had in school like 27. This past year? Yeah, hey, Joe, he been there for a little minute, boy. Damn. He done red shirted, medical red shirt, COVID red shirt. Yeah. Hey, can y 'all imagine being 27 out there on the college field? No. The way y 'all were probably cutting up in the league? Bro, I couldn't imagine. I would have scored a touchdown, Joe. I got to the league.

59:08I got to the league. I was 22 because I didn't redshirt. Yeah. And I was looking back. I was like, man, can you imagine if I was a college freshman at 22, what I would do to these kids? Right. I did this at 18, 19. Can you imagine, Joe, can you imagine your first two years in the NBA, you a college student? Yeah. I average about 28 a game. Shit. What? It's just so much that you learn, bro, when you go pro. I was just getting ready to say that. You learn so much of the nuances of the game, like how to make the game easier for yourself. You learn great work habits, you know, and mentally, bro, you're just in a whole, a totally different space, man.

1:00:03That's why when you look at, when I be watching college basketball, I'm like, man, boy, if it was like this when I was playing, damn. But I think the thing is, guys, now because the guys, they make money, Joe, ain't nobody really, unless you like the top, top guys, ain't nobody trying to leave. Ocho, I'm trying to keep getting that little$500 ,000 million. We were trying to. The only way you get that kind of money, you had to go professional. Now we're getting professional money in college. Yeah. Hey, and guess what? After your duration in college, that's it. A lot of them guys ain't going to never play the game again.

1:00:37Whether it's basketball, football, so you better take advantage of it while you're young. You know what I mean? Everybody ain't going to make it to the pros, Ocho. No. So, hey, if I can make me a couple of million dollars before I get there and give me a head start on life? Oh, yeah. Hello. Hey, hold on. If I don't make it. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If I don't make it, give me a head start on life. Yeah. Hello.

1:01:04Also, we have some very sad news. Former NFL pass rusher Aldon Smith has passed away at just 36 years of age. Man. The coordinators released a statement. We are devastated by the sudden and tragic passing of Aldon Smith. Aldon, undeniably his talent, and sheer dominance on the field, were on display from the moment he joined our organization. Having recorded one of the best rookie seasons in NFL Football League history, beyond his excellence as a player, Alden Wood will be remembered for his infectious smile that lit up every room he walked in. Our entire organization sends its deepest condolences to the Smith family and all that knew and loved Alden.

1:01:39In 2024, Smith had attempted to turn his own struggles into methods of helping young athletes adjust to the pressures and pitfalls of such a high-profile job. He began the project called I Am Loading with I Am Mean Intelligent Movement. The goal was to offer mentorship, recovery, coaching for those who had endured similar life challenges. That offseason, he also served as a mentor to the rookie classes of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders, appearing on the Keyshawn Johnson's podcast, All facts, no breaks. June the 24th, Smith told Johnson he was hoping his journey could be a cautionary tale for young players trying to make their way.

1:02:24Alderman Smith dead at the age of 36. And we find out what the cause was? No, not yet, huh? I was reading. They say when he arrived at the hospital, he was DOA. He was DOA, yeah. I don't know. Obviously, we know some struggles that he had. Yes, sir. you know we were just hoping all for the best he had I mean what he had 33 and a half sacks in his first 32 games he was on a Reggie White historic pace yes and the demons got a hold of him and he couldn't shake him and I don't know as the statement read my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family and all the loved ones and everybody that knew Aldon Smith Yes, sir.

1:03:10It's just sad. It's just sad. 36 years of age. 36. Life. Oh. You don't know. You don't. You don't know the demons that a person goes through. You don't know what a person is dealing with. You don't. And a lot of times, you know.

1:03:35Man, you all right? Yeah, I'm good.

1:03:40are you really good though nope are you really good a lot of people say that because they don't want to be a burden bro they don't they don't Joe they don't I feel very privileged that every time Burns call me he'll ask homeboy you good he'll say homeboy you really good now or you just telling me that Right. I'm good. I'm good. This time I'm really good.

1:04:14They say we create our demons. Yes, sir. Only we can chase them away. Yeah. That's the hard part, though, the chasing away part. Because, Ocho, every day for the rest of your life, just imagine you being on parole for the rest of your life. You being on probation for the rest of your life. If you got an addiction, if you got an alcohol addiction, whatever it is, you got to go every day and not partake. I've got to drive by a bar. I've got to drive by a liquor store. I've got to drive by a convenience store. And if I go in the convenience store and I get a drink or I get a honey bun or potato chips, I've got to walk by the beer section.

1:04:50I've got to walk by the alcohol section and say something. If I go to a restaurant and have dinner with my family, friends, or loved ones, everybody else is ordering. I'm very, very cautious of that. even when they come on Club Shae Shae, if they've dealt with something, we have water. We don't offer them a drink. That's hard, man. I know what it's like because my dad dealt with that. And I know how I am. I come over here and I have one drink with you. I don't really drink. I don't drink when I'm out because I know me. I have a very addictive personality. the same thing that makes you great makes you fallible because you don't know how to turn it off you don't know when to stop training you don't know when to stop running those routes you don't know when to stop shooting those baskets the things that make you the greatest are the things that makes you most fallible yeah that's how it is with Hurricane Uncle Joe my old girl my mama Yeah.

1:05:57Boy, Joe, growing up, a lot of people asked me, you know, I know you drink, boy, you know you funny. The perception on how people view me from the outside looking in, you would think I'd drink and smoke weed, you know, pouring, you know, sitting on the couch, no shirt, bottling hand. But nah, just seeing my mama, Joe, you know, when I was younger and watching someone that I love turning into someone that I didn't even recognize early in the mornings. Yeah. What you do is not breakfast. It's that goddamn Tanqueray mix of ruby red juice. Grapefruit juice, huh? Yeah. Early in the morning. That's your breakfast.

1:06:34At lunch, the same thing. At dinner, same thing. And it was a constant. And boy, Joe, when she get mad, you already got that lick in her system. Yeah. Oh, Joe, your mama drank that Tanqueray? What? What? What? Hey, you got to be different on your arm. Yes, sir. Hey, hey. That Tangeray, that Seagram's? Yeah. That for them hardcore. I mean, you hardcore. Hey, that would care to drink the back one for. Hey, Joe, that ain't no Belvedere. Nah. That ain't no kettle one. No, sir. Hey, what my grandma just said, man, girl, you need to stop. You drink it like a fish. It's going to be the death of you. Yeah.

1:07:20Every time they get into it, you stop drinking like a fish, it's going to be the death of you. Yeah. On the noon, day and night, you're always drinking. What'd you think my mama died of? Drinking. Drinking. Yeah. I'm all important. Yeah. Hey, hey. I never, I never, I never, I'll never ever touch a drink. I can see why, Ocho, and that's good, bro. I'm talking about, man, listen, I'll be honest, like, I didn't really have a relationship with my pops until I was 26. I was already five years into the league. He was just getting out of prison, Ock and Ocho. Man, we the same thing. As a recovering drug and alcoholic, I didn't know the signs of that.

1:08:00You know what I mean? So when he get out of prison, he come live with me here in Atlanta. He exposed to any and everything you could think of, bro. Yeah. You talk about opening up a can of worms. Hey, I had to be the daddy. I'm the one at the AA, man. You don't need to go out tonight, bro. You need to get people. You know what I mean? But he couldn't help himself, bro. He couldn't help himself by any means, bro. You know how? I've seen it. That Tangeray and that B-Feeders, Bartons, Bop A, and that Bombay Sapphire. Yeah. Hey, hey. Guaranteed to get the - For my homeboy, hey. Hey, Sharp Man, bring some of that Bombay.

1:08:43Bombay Sapphire sit you on your ass. Boy. Hey, hold on now. You know she like, you think Wiz Cleaver smoke a lot, Joe? No. You think Snoop smoke a lot? Yeah. Your mom smoke weed? What? Hurricane Paula? On the front porch, boy. Paula had the gin and the weed. Hold on. Oh, we're talking with the white papers now. Yeah. Already pre-rolled? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Damn. Man, stop playing. Stop playing with Hurricane, man. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, Joe, You know, hey, my mama hit that gas too now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. My mama hit that gas too. Hey, hey, I used to, I used to didn't like to have company because as soon as you knock on our door, you can smell it, you know what I'm saying?

1:09:27And as a kid, I was like, hell no, I ain't bite nobody. You know what I mean? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Mama, you should get it in, boy. Damn. That was my baby. Alden Smith, dead at the age of 36. Man. Make sure you got a loved one. You tell them you love them. Man.
