2:28Welcome back to this episode of Debo and Joe. I'm your host, James Debo Harrison. I'm here with my co-host, Joe Hayden. Please make sure you like, subscribe and download where you get your podcast. How are you doing today, Joe? I'm doing good, brother Debo.
2:47James Harrison:Another day, another dollar, but I ain't going to lie to you. I am feeling some type of way. You're feeling some type of way. I'm feeling some type of way, Joe. In a good way. In a good way. Hey, I ain't going to lie to you, man. I'm feeling some type of way the same way. You know what I'm saying? You know. And, you know, I just got back, you know, from getting, you know, like a tub, getting some blood work done, you know what I'm saying? Yes. You got to take care of the body. Hey, getting full, physical, you know what I'm saying? I didn't get everything checked out. Blood work ain't came back yet, but it's probably going to be all right.
3:20I did a DEXA scan. You know what a DEXA scan is, right? Yes. Okay. So, you know, that tested the body fat and all that. You know what I'm saying? It ain't quite where I want it to be, but I mean, it's all right. Where you at?
3:34James Harrison:Where your body fat at, Joe? Man, you know, I'm trying to keep it in the single. I'm like a nine. I'm like a nine. Yeah. When I was in the league, you know, it was crazy. I was 3-2. 3-2-4. 3-2. That's crazy. Where you at right now, Debo? I ain't going to lie. I'm a little disappointed. Like, it's like an 8. It's 8.2 on the Dexa, you know. Bro, that's good, Debo. You know what I'm saying? What you wearing? Like, 250? Yeah, 250, 251. You know, it is what it is. Just slow on that zone, man. I'm just saying, bro. You know what I'm saying? I was hoping to get to, like, you know, maybe, like, 3%. You know, 3.5 or something like that.
4:14You know what I'm saying? You got to watch. You got to do some diet.
4:17James Harrison:You doing a good diet and you watching what you eat? That's what's going to get the cup. Man, you know, I do what I could do when I could do it. You know what I'm saying? I mean, you at, what, 9 %? That's crazy. I'm going to get... You victim weight, right? I'm 180. Below 200? Yeah, that's victim weight. You know, and you 9%. That's wild, though. That's crazy. Look, Debo, don't be over here judging me. I'm just asking. I ain't doing no... I'm good. I look good. I don't judge. And I'm going to get right fast. I just speak out loud things that go in my head. You know what I'm saying? Sometimes. Man, I'm good on you.
4:47Hey, man. Joe, you know what they say. You know, a hit dog will holler. You know what I'm saying? That's all I was, you know? Okay. I ain't saying nothing. You know, I'm disappointed in myself, too. All that. You know? I'm disappointed in myself, too, Joe.
5:02James Harrison:You know, I understand. When I see you at Super Bowl, we going to get to the gym. I'm going to show you. Disappoint me, man. They ain't let Bill in. They ain't let your boy Bill in. First ballot, bro. Yeah. How do you feel about that? First, how do you feel about that, Debo? That's why I'm really feeling some type of way, honestly. Listen, bro. If he ain't first, if he ain't first, who is? Who? I told you. Now, this is where they get a chance to get their get back. These writers, Bill wasn't the most media-friendly cat out there. You know what I'm saying? you know he didn't really like talking to him and when he did his interviews it was hard to understand you had to really slow it down to see what he was saying you know communication was was real thin like he had me so full that when I got to New England bro and you know you got to sit down and talk to the coach I'm like damn this about to be interesting I'm gonna I'm gonna be up here trying to sort through what he's saying I need some I need some I need some of the words up underneath there so I can see, you know, understand what he's saying.
6:07Yeah. How was he though? How was it? Total opposite. Yes. Very clear, open, communicative dude. Like, will tell you what he's thinking from A to Z. Honest. Don't sugar coat nothing. Like, total opposite of what it is that you see on TV. you know especially when he's talking just pure straight to the it's like
6:38James Harrison:yeah he don't have nothing to say he ain't gonna give you nothing because that's what like that's that's how he raised his team and that's the way he is yeah there is it's nothing like that and like i was saying before this is where they get a chance to get their gift back i like how he dealt with this i think how he dealt with that now you want to add on top you They're saying, oh, it was the spy gate and all that. Y 'all should have really went into that back then, but it's too late for that. What he got? He got six as a head coach, another two as an assistant coach. This man got eight of them things.
7:14Yes.
7:17James Harrison:What more do you want from this man? And when I look at it too, Debo, it really pisses me off because it's gatekeeping. it's I don't like people like the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the beat writers, these guys feeling like they got all of the power to be able to like, it's what you do on the field. Your man Bill Belichick. They allow some other stuff in there. They allow a lot of other stuff in there. But then at the end of the day, if you want to say that he cheated for two of the Super Bowls or you don't like the way he talks to you, shut your mouth. It doesn't matter. Who are you? Nobody gives a fuck who you are.
7:55James Harrison:That's Bill Belichick. We can't look at the games anymore. And you can't go back and say, was this person remembered? We can't look at the history of the game. It's been 59 Super Bowl champions. He's been in nine of those Super Bowls and won six of them. And then two of them, if you want to say as assistant coach, so eight Super Bowls that he's won as a head coach, it's only been 59 of them. The gatekeeping, the people that somebody don't treat you the right way so you can try to get back at them, I hate those people. The people that didn't get picked and now they're rich and famous, so now they can just do certain things.
8:29James Harrison:They ain't even rich and famous. I mean, not even rich and famous. Not even rich and famous, but can keep you from something that you worked for that is legitimately yours. So everybody that has a right mind that can look at the pro footballers, watch his football. It's like this. If he's not a first ballot Hall of Famer, who is? It takes all credibility away because you want to talk about, oh, no, we don't know who else is going to get in. Show me your face, you bum. I don't care who else was not going to get in. Bill Belichick, you missed them on the other laugh. You missed them on the last time that they couldn't get in.
9:05James Harrison:But you're going to tell me that this man with six ships isn't going to get in right now? You don't deserve a pick. You don't deserve a vote. And I want to see who you are. because, like, it just makes the Pro Football Hall of Fame look weak and look chumpish because I'm like, you're going to tell all these great players, and, like, even you, James, you don't think that you even deserve to be in the Hall. I do. I'm like, you changed the game, in my opinion. I'm just speaking. Just take it. The way you balled out, the way you—they know James Hersch, you put people to sleep, that 100-yard interception in the Super Bowl, nobody ever did it.
9:37James Harrison:It's legit. You won ships, and you've done things. So I'm like, you saying you're not supposed to be in the Super Bowl on the Hall of Fame, I can respect it because you can have some people that say, I don't know, maybe not first, he can get in maybe a little later, but you got Bill Belichick here, and we're sitting here like this. There's no question. You have six ships. You take away two of them. It doesn't matter. There's dudes that made first ballot Hall of Fame, Coach Chuck, I think, not Chuck, no, one coach, Landry, two Super Bowls, and he was first ballot Hall of Fame. What are we talking about?
10:08James Harrison:I don't care if you don't like him, He didn't treat you nice. Do you know how hard it is to win in the NFL? They don't. Everybody just forgets. And then, like, just being able to have that longevity of teams and being able to, like, salary caps, being able to just get rid of players a year a little early before it's too late. He think it's sweet. Like, tough decisions. He's also the GM. You also put in my mind that he is his tree, the people that he puts into place. He had Nick Saban, Mike Vrabel, Brian Flores, Josh McDaniel, Matt Patricia, Joe Judge, Bill O 'Brien, Eric Mangini. These are not just basic names.
10:46James Harrison:There's been other plenty of other people. I'm just off the top the first like eight. So he does that. He GMs. He's on point. He's able to run the teams. His what he's done to this game. It makes me so upset that other people can take that away from him. I don't care if you don't like him. I don't care nothing about it. When you look at football, anybody, if he's not first ballot, there's no such thing as first ballot. It takes away the, like, that's why I say there's different rooms. Mike Tomlin's going to make the Hall of Fame eventually. Bill Belichick makes the Hall of Fame first ballot because he's the best to ever do it in our game.
11:25James Harrison:And if there's other coaches that have been in that made the first ballot, there's no way that he's not. You're tripping, you're bugging. You're taking away all your credibility. I'm looking at you goofy. Like, how could you do that to this man? Everybody's looking at you like, who do you think you are? How, who do you? Put a name on it. Now I want to see why you say that you want to say what you're doing. Nah, you can't go that far, man. You can't go that far. I want to. I want to. I will. I will. You can't go that far. I will. Like, who voted for who and that. Yeah, who voted for who? But I'll tell you what you can do.
11:53What can you do? I believe, like, a lot of these cats go be around the Super Bowl around there. What you can do is you can go up and be like, yo, who'd you vote for? You can ask him. It's on him if you want to say or not. Because if it's me and I voted for it. Yes. Him to go in, I'm going to be like, it wasn't me. I voted for him to go in. Yes, yes. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, hey, I'm going to get my name out the mud.
12:23James Harrison:Tell him the reasons why. And I've seen a reason why. where you ain't got to come up with no reason of legitimacy up to why no like I need to know why no if there's a no why no I heard one why no where there's other coaches you know like they feel like the coaches need to be able to get in this might be their last shot give me something but still with that I don't agree but you give me a reason give me a reason but I might not still agree with it because I'm like, this is, and I didn't even play for Bill Belichick. I don't, like, I don't have a dog in the fight, but just from the outside perspective of looking at it, I'm like, this is crazy.
13:03James Harrison:Just to me of loving the game and wanting the greatest people to be in it. I know I don't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. I don't, I didn't do enough. No impact. No. If that is the The criteria for first ballot, it should never be another first ballot. First ballot Hall of Famer. It should always be somebody behind them. Ever in life. Before them. Yes. Ever in life, there should not be another first round. Like, no. No first ballot. Period. Period. I don't like the gatekeeping. I don't like if somebody. You can't go to the, like, hey, y 'all got to say who you voted for. Show who it is. Now, I do believe you should know who are the voting members each year.
13:49Like, yo, the name should be out. Like, these are the 50 that's voting. Yeah. Yeah, I think that should be something that goes on. But actually, like.
14:01James Harrison:Because if you're voting for it, if you're in that room, if you're in that room and you're making the vote, shouldn't you want to stand on your vote? like unless you feel like you're doing it for reasons that are not hey again listen listen you help me not let t.o in i won't hey i want you to help me not let him or i helped you not let t.o in on his first one which he should have been first uh why don't you you go help me not let get bill get in on his first because i feel like the cheating was this or whatever it may be they got fined did whatever all the other stuff and yeah they're swapping on the road but still like he got he got six five more after that he got he got he got eight all together like come on bro like what is the whole issue with other than it being something personal because if you're sitting there and you're standing there and it's like okay numbers is telling me it's this is that you got to add something you got to add something personal in there and like they say ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun man the rabbit had the gun ain't no fun and build the relationships I can see just not talking to people just not being interactive and these are writers and media people that he could have blatantly just like man whatever like not answering their questions he's been real real real going hard in those interviews like when you watch him like god damn he just carried that person like not really giving them answers so you can see how somebody okay like you said I'm going to go get my get back.
15:36You got a bunch of writers, dude. Like, I feel like the guys that should vote who gets in should be the guys that's in there. Like, let's kill all these members. First ballot guys should vote for first ballot guys. If you get enough first ballot guys to vote for you as a first ballot, you go. Because they in there. They know what it is. They know what it takes. They ain't going to go ahead and dilute it. Or put somebody in there just because, oh, he was nice. Yeah. Keep somebody in there or keep somebody from out of there just because he wasn't nice to the media. No. Like, it's going to be the standard of play.
16:18Seriously. Play. That's it. And this coaching. And your coaching is what your results are. How many championships did you get? Like, all that. What is the, you know, what does your lineage look like? Like, how was your coaching passed down? What's your coaching tree look like? Like, if you were that good of a coach, you should have a whole thing going on. Like, all that.
16:44James Harrison:Like, dude, I don't understand it. I don't understand it. I don't understand it. I don't like it. I just don't like when people are good enough for something and somebody can hold something from you that doesn't have, like, valid, valid reasons. or even when we say like T.O., you know, the SHIELD wants to protect the SHIELD. They want you to be as clean cut and everything. But like with T.O., he didn't do anything with the law. He was in trouble with the law. It's like his numbers are unbelievable. You just don't like the way he makes you feel. Like he rubs you the wrong way. Shut your mouth. Like you sound like a child.
17:20James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? I'm like, he wasn't, he didn't like disrespect you. He didn't put his hands on you. He did not do nothing. He's a law abiding citizen. He's a law-abiding citizen. You just don't like the way he rubs you the wrong way. Get out of here. And then that could be some reason why people don't get him in. Like, no, we're going to make him wait just because, you know what I'm saying, we didn't like the way he acted. No, I just can't stand that part. He's good enough. He did not do nothing with the law. And if you want to take the way from Bill Belichick, the thing I would say, it was like the gates that he had, like the spy gate and the flake gate.
17:50James Harrison:Take away those two. Take away two years of everything. He still has four ships. He still has everything. and then he still was doing it at such a long time. He's also the general manager. He's also the special teams guy. He's also has his hands in every basket. So when you tell me, like, there's other coaches that made the Hall of Fame for sure, but this dude right here did it at such a high level, and I'm saying this from afar, just watch. I'm like, dude, he's one of the best coaches I've ever seen in my life because just the rotation, the different amount of players, the way that he's doing it.
18:22What is there to talk about? That's something that I recognized when I got there, dude. We had so many different personnels, a defense dude, and he was going to put in there who he felt had the best opportunity to execute what needed to be done on that defense and that specific personnel. And you'd have two guys go out. You'd have six guys go out. You may have one guy just flip in. Like he made sure he matched his ability of his players to the job that they needed to do. Like he didn't try and make it fit. Oh, I know you are a, you know, whatever. But I'm a play. I'm a play you as a, you know, as a corner, even though you're better as a safety.
19:12You know, he didn't play USA. Yes. He's going he's going to put it where he can get the best out of you. And I think he had a knack of actually being able to do that. Because, like, when I got there, dude, I was on, like, one thing. He was like, okay, yeah, I see you can do this, do that, da, da, da. By the end, we got to the Super Bowl, dude, I was on everything but one. Like, and he puts, like I said, and that's what he does. Like, yeah. But him not getting in, that's what you call egregious. That's egregious. Yeah. That's egregious. That's very egregious. That's what happens when you let these media writers and all that hold all the power.
19:53But yet, when it comes to Pro Bowl, you give it to the fans, you give it to the coaches, and you give it to the players. But when it comes to Hall of Fame, you give it all to somebody who got a score to settle and the flaws of everything because I'm the media person. I didn't like how you did this. I didn't like how you did that. And on top of that, most of them aren't true historians of the game. They would have knew that if you didn't let this man in, it's going to be blowback.
20:23James Harrison:That's what I'm saying. How do you not realize that? That everybody, like all the Hall of Famers, everybody understands it. Like, if you watch football, if you - Even people that's like, yeah, okay, so what? He cheated, da, da, da. You know, take that. You know, take this. And I'll take it with - out his punishment from the league. What else do you want? Yes. Yes. Consistency and just doing it for so long. But this is when they say, you know what? The league ain't do it right. It's my time to make justice. You know what? Y 'all ain't want to do it? I'm going to keep his ass out. I'm going to keep him out.
20:59Hey, yo, I need you to vote with me on this. Let's get seven, eight more so he only get 39 instead of 40. That's what I'm saying.
21:08James Harrison:Who's looking? Yes. Man, shut your mouth. Vote for the man. It had to be, and the thing we said too, and if you didn't, that's what you said, D-Vote. You don't want to, you don't think people got to be able to show their votes. But if you like your vote, and if you believe in why you voted for them, or you have a legitimate reason, give it to us then. Because I just don't, I mean, it just throws me off. Because it's not supposed to be. Who's the 11? It had to be 11 out of the 50. So, I mean, that's, I mean, you only need 80%. You need 40 out of 50 votes. He obviously didn't get 11. Did he get 39 or did he get less than 39?
Read the full transcript
21:42James Harrison:I don't know. They're not telling us, Deebo. They're just giving us just the, he didn't get 80%. So did he get more than 50? Did he get 65? Hey, we should at least have the numbers. They ain't giving us nothing. They're just telling us we didn't get 80. The numbers, you got to at least have the numbers. Man, bruh. Those, whoever didn't, I mean, give us the, I saw they gave us the one person. The thing is, it was, what, what? They say it was a leak that this even got out. Yeah. Then look, that's how they get to trying to cover it up. They mad that we done figured out before. Somebody like, no, y 'all ain't about to put me in this bullshit.
22:14Hey, leak it out there. I voted for him.
22:17James Harrison:The hell with that. They talking about they're going to figure out, they're going to go through their process and about getting it out. The dudes that was voting for Bill Belichick that saw it was like, oh, these motherfuckers about to go crazy. I'm telling. I'm snitching. Hey, they said action will be taken to remove members of the committee. Hey, y 'all got every last one of them that voted no on that. If you do not remove them, you are just feeding a crock of bullshit. That should have been 50-0. 50-0. 50-0. 50-0. 50-0. Whoever voted no, remove them. I almost said something. Yeah. It's all good.
23:00James Harrison:It's all good. We feel some type of way. Oh, man, bruh. It's just crazy. Hey, bro, let's go on over here and see what y 'all got going on in Cleveland. Yes, sir. Hey, man, listen, they went on ahead and got your boy over there. Was it Todd Munkin? Yes, sir. They done gave him the job over there. Mm-hmm. And they obviously let your boy know. and the report said that Jim was visibly upset, saying his goodbyes in the building, and told other coaches that he ain't coming back. Yeah. He ain't coming back. Hey, Joe, what's going on with your team, Joe? Do you like this? What you thinking, Joe? Tell me.
23:49James Harrison:I'm having split emotions Because Jim Swartz He was hooping for us Obviously Myles Garrett Loved him Had the defense Turning up We love him there But now We obviously need An offensive coach We obviously need An offensive coach I was hoping that We could be able to If we weren't hiring Jim as the head coach That we were able to Get him That keep him But now since we're not Able to keep him I don't know How I feel I like that Todd Munkin, did you see the introduction he had with Shador when he saw him like, oh, we wanted to draft you in Baltimore? Did you see that? Okay. So that makes me give. I'm happy about that because we do need a coach there that's interested in making the best case scenario and helping Shador be successful.
24:36James Harrison:So I'm liking the vibes. I'm liking the energy him embracing. But now I'm just looking at it like, okay, I'm happy for the offense. but the defense, Jim Swartz was one thing that I was like, no matter what, I want to keep him here because the team loves him. We've been fighting for him. Him at head coach would have been dope. And then we just had to get him. Running a business is hard enough. Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age. What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year?
26:58He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. And how did a 2023 event called Wagageddon change the paddock forever? That day is just seared into my memory. I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman, and these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on No Grip, a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the underexplored pockets of the sport. 27:42I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first Bachelor to ever have his final rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all, I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Police search warrant.
28:21James Harrison:This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. 28:49James Harrison:Fire offensive coordinator Todd Munkin, I'd have been cool with Jim Sports ahead And then Todd Munkin, I don't know if he would have took the offensive coordinator. So I don't know how the organization tried to work that out. I hope that Todd Munkin works. I'm happy that he's going to be bringing in offensive mind, trying to get us playing score points. We need that badly. I just want to make sure we can don't lose one for the other. We have a defense. We had Jim running them. Them dudes were firing. We had, like, number one defense in the league. So if we can still— At one time, but not—it didn't finish there.
29:19James Harrison:It didn't finish there, but you don't know. We were on pace, Julio. So we just need to make sure we bring another good, good defensive coordinator here. Myles Garrett sending a picture of the lady outside of the Popeye's stress. I feel you, Myles. It's just so much rotation. And when you finally feel like you got a good coach here, they swipe him onto your feet. So that's why he's stressed. He's a little pissed off about it. But Myles going to ball. Myles going to do what Myles got to do regardless. Look at Myles. Just, I feel you. It's been a long time. You had a good coach. Now you're stressed.
29:48James Harrison:Now you're outside of Popeye's. Stressed. So, Miles, I just need you to come with that energy. I hope we get a good defensive coordinator for you. But I'm happy about Munkin in a way that I saw that he came in. He's ready to embrace. He has done good with offenses, with Lamar. So, hopefully the offense does good and Miles gets up off the bench with the Popeyes and gets his vibes right. So, for me, personally, I don't think I would have hired either one of them his head coach okay i see what monken did over there in baltimore he really wasn't smart enough to even utilize what he had he had a powerhouse over there you got your running back sitting on the side i don't know all this switching back and forth but with that being said and now knowing how you said the team felt about jim swartz yes and how well he did do with the defense, that would make me at least have to give him an opportunity to go on in and there and do it.
31:04Especially, I don't know if they talked. Obviously, they didn't talk to Schwartz before they made the decision on how he would feel if he would stay, all that other stuff. Because I think he was just going to try to get the straight head coaching job. Right. Right. Like, again, this is the Haslam's, you know, making a decision based on what it is they want. Like, you got coaches writing essays, you got them taking tests and all kind of crazy stuff. because somebody told y 'all that this is how you get a better coach and this is how it happens on paper something that's that's that's measurable and they're used to running a business and looking at numbers looking at things on paper things that are measurable because they don't understand the intangibles of hiring a football coach and what you need.
32:10You can't get that on paper. And the number one thing you need when you're hiring a coach is you need your players to buy in. And you had that right there. They have to believe in the coach that you hire. They have to believe he can lead the team. They have to have respect for him or at least something type of something for him so again your gm wanted something else your team wanted something else and you went and went with whatever the hell it was that y 'all wanted and now yeah you're going to lose your dc yeah he's going to be gone there's no way he's going to stay there but they're thinking you know what he's under contract he can't go anywhere nah no it's ways around all that yeah contract is what it is but it's gonna be so dysfunctional around you're gonna have so many issues going on and on top of it you're still going to have him there with the players that admire him and are like coach you should be head coach and then the first loss the dysfunction that the Browns organization is going to have, it already has, okay?
33:28But what it will be after that, man.
33:31James Harrison:Let me tell you something. If what – I hope Jim Swartz keeps his professionalism because if they got it, if he's under contract and he can't go nowhere, I think the defense will still be great. If somehow, Debo, you said he comes back, I would be ecstatic. He only got one year left on this deal. He's a professional. he's not going to come and just try to start ruckus. He ain't going to start ruckus, but I promise you this. He's going to do a good job with the D. I promise you this, too. You know, Debo, you say this yourself, too. We're in control of our jobs. And what we do is we come in there.
34:04James Harrison:You keep talking about the Steelers. Man, I don't care what the offense does. What's our job? Not let them get in the end zone. And if they don't get in the end zone, then we win the damn game. You say that to me all the time, and I'm listening. So now, just say, we get Jim Swartz back. He's a professional. Don't score, and we win. And it makes him look better. So what does he do out there and just be shitty and then make us lose? No. Go out there and give eggs and then go get another head coaching job. So hopefully, hopefully, yeah, yeah. Are you catching what I'm putting down? I'm catching what you're putting down.
34:36Okay. But Joe, this is a totally different situation. He comes in there. Say he's able to be like, you know what? I'm going to swallow all the stuff I said. I'm going to go and come back and I'm going to coach my guys. I'm going to do it to the best of my ability. Yes. And we go out there and we stand up as a defense. The offense don't do nothing. And we come out of there with a worse record than we did last year. Then we fire and talk. I still do not get an opportunity because you never wanted me. So why would I even stay there that you didn't even want to give me a chance after what I done did and how the players feel about me?
35:15I have to. You have to have the players buy in. That's the biggest thing. The players don't have to listen. They have no respect for you. They don't believe in him. Are you talking about the owner? I'm talking about shorts. They believe in him, dude.
35:30James Harrison:They believe in him, yes, yes. They believe in him. You got somebody coming, and now on top of that, he's thinking that he's just going to step in. He done went through the whole process of all the BS and doing whatever it is that y 'all want to do. He thinking he aligned for it. You got everybody and they mama withdrawing from this, dropping out and then you go with who it is that you want as the owner that has no knowledge of football obviously because you ain't been able to get nothing right you go against your gm and your team the gm wanted what uh uh shoe house the the rams uh shoe house the the rams uh the rams uh I'm a team coordinator, dude.
36:17Okay. Like, and the team wanted, they wanted shorts. Like, come on, bro. What we doing? You know, man. Hey, it's my team. That's A. Yes. We about to let the inmates run to jail.
36:31James Harrison:You're not going to let the inmates run to asylum. I'm the billionaire here. That's what he's saying. He's the billionaire here. But you don't want to win? I mean, I hope so. I would hope so. Listen, man, y 'all can't – you ain't going to get those intangibles on paper. They ain't got nothing to compute and draw that up. It don't work. You can't. Man, listen. Like – Defense still going to have to go out there and bowl. Listen, you get a new D coordinator and the defense tank is over with. They might burn Cleveland down. Yeah, defense can't go down. And you going to do that to your defensive MVP?
37:14Huh? Yeah. You ain't getting that man.
37:17James Harrison:What? Huh? That's what I'm saying. Hopefully. I knew y 'all was dysfunctional, but this is out of control, Joe. Nah, man. Yeah. They just know we needed something on offense, for sure. I'm just trying to think what Jimmy was thinking. We needed to make sure somehow the offense is going to get better. Defense is who it is. we still got them same players, so we're going to bring in another coach. The offense is going to get better, Richard Monken, because he was able to get the most out of the offense he had. No, I'm talking about the quarterbacks. I'm not even talking about the whole offense. He's going to develop, and we're going to be able to get Shador right, and our offense is going to be looking better.
37:58James Harrison:The Ravens offense produced. Stillhouse wouldn't have did that as a Tazigan coordinator. He could have did a better job. And you might have had a chance of actually keeping Schwartz if you had talked to him and be like, yo, we really, you know, now we're looking at this side of the, you know, his offense can last. We want to go and do this right here. We're thinking it's going to be a better move for the team. We still want to be here. They obviously did not talk to this man before this process or before this move was made. No, they just get, yeah, no, I'm with you. Because they probably just gave him the, he thought he was going to get a head coaching job there.
38:32James Harrison:And they didn't give him the head up. like, hey, we're moving in a different direction. We think, like, come on. We still want you aboard. Maybe not the head, but we still want you on the ship. You could have made him the assistant head coach. Bam. So if shit hits the fan with Tom. Give him a title. Give him a good title. Give him a little pay grade. That way he knows if this don't work out, I've got to be next in line. I'm assistant head. And a little raise. A little raise. Just to let them know. A little title and a little raise. Right. That would have kept them. Dang. Yeah, y 'all boo-boo over there, man.
39:16I ain't even gonna lie to you, bro. All right, D-Bo. Next. Y 'all doing bad over in the streets, man. I'm just saying, y 'all doing bad over in the streets, man. We gonna see. They say, man, that's boo. Listen, they talking about McCarthy. McCarthy, he definitely wants Aaron back. That's not true. Did you watch? Right. Hey, Joe, I ain't going to lie to you. Did you watch? Yes. Hold up. Joe, you know I watched. I know you. I ain't going to lie to you. I changed. Here comes McCarthy. Yeah. I ain't going to lie to you. Right. It took. It took. I changed. Yeah. You know me. G-Mo, you're ghetto.
39:57James Harrison:You're ghetto and you're very, very harsh sometimes. because you're going to text, you were very reactionary. I'm looking at the joint, me and my lady, I'm looking at it. We're looking at the same thing and you text me. Is this crap? I'm like, I'm like, Debo, I'm literally looking at it like this. Okay, Joe, here. No, Debo, shut your mouth. No, shut your mouth. That's why I, yes, exactly. That's why I want you to say, what exactly did I take? I'm going to tell you exactly what you said because I'm looking at it with my wife. You can use Ninja. I'm going to use Ninja. Real time. Real time. I'm watching it.
40:31James Harrison:And me and my wife, I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to say. I'm looking at it. And he's legitimately getting choked up. So I'm like, oh, my God. He's from Pittsburgh. And now when I'm first hearing McCarthy talk, I'm like, he has that Pittsburgh accent. He sounds like Pittsburgh. So I'm really looking. He's like, just his family's there. He's getting emotional. You know what I'm saying? I'm low key, almost getting a little choked up for him. Me and my wife. My wife is like, I love this man. I'm like this. Okay. I'm rocking with it because at least I know he has passion. He legitimately feels it in his heart.
41:04James Harrison:I look at my phone. Bing. Debo. Is this ninja crying?
41:13James Harrison:I was like, Sarah, something's wrong with Debo. He's a bully. Me and my wife are almost about to have a little bit of tears. We're like, oh my God, this is going to be good. I say, Sarah, something's wrong with Debo. Something is wrong with him. He's like, is this ninja crying? I'm like oh my god Tebow has no soul Tebow has no soul Hey listen Joe Hold up Joe Hold up man Hold up Oh Bruh Oh shit Joe Hold up Joe I changed I changed Joe Joe listen Tebow I was laughing And crying so hard at you Cause I'm sitting there Watching the joint I'm like this Yeah okay McCarthy I say oh my gosh He feels it in his heart Like dang his family there You know what I'm saying Like he's so Pittsburgh word.
41:59James Harrison:Listen to crying. I say, Debo, get off my line. I couldn't even hit you back. I couldn't even hit you back. I couldn't even hit you back. I was like, let him sit on it for a second. So go ahead. Go ahead. Listen, I had time. Oh my God. I had time to reflect after I sent you that initial text. That's why when you finally got back to me, I didn't say nothing. So, you know me, I'm I'm going to react. Yeah. I react, man. That's why we can't do nothing live, man, because I got a natural reaction, man. Yes. I'm slowing my walk. I'm young. It takes you time. You got to, yeah, let it go. So, you know, like I said, I reacted.
42:40Yes. And I said, you know what? Something said, hey, James, slow down. Slow down. Let's listen to it. This is what it did, though, for me. It brought to mind the book of James where it says you must be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Yes. So I said, all right, Joe, let me chill. Let me calm down. Let me go back. And you know what it did? It brought to mind my hall of honor induction with the Steelers. And I ain't going to lie. I dropped a few tears. Okay? Because you a real one, because you care. And the reason I dropped those tears, it really came down to this. So I'm thanking the fans.
43:26I'm working through it. I'm thanking the fans. I'm thanking my teammates. Yes, yes. I'm thanking my coaches. I'm thanking my family. And then I get to my sons, right? And I look, and I look. I see James, my oldest son. He got tears growing down his face. Oh, my goodness. It's a wrap, Dan. Right? It's over for me. So I'm looking at Henry, and I'm trying my best not to cry right now. And I see his eyes filled up, right? And I couldn't fake it no more. Yes. Because they was crying the tears of joy that I was trying to hold. Yes. It's joy. Real joy. Because they knew. They knew what it meant to me.
44:06They knew the respect and admiration that I had for those men that were in that Hall of Fame before me. Yep. You know what I'm saying? Guys like Joe Green, Mel Blunt, historic linebackers, bro. You're talking about Lambert, Ham, Lloyd, Kevin Green. And these dudes are here. It was guys there in the room. And the greatest accomplishment, dude, that you could get from one of those guys back then in the old day was you could have played with us. That was the greatest accomplishment that you could get. And now I was being put in the same room with these men. All of it. They in there for you. And that moment, it was validation, right?
44:53So now I said, you know what? Let me go back and watch this interview again. And listen, his family is in the front row. That's what kept, he can't even look right. They know what it means to him. Okay? and how much respect and admiration he has for the Steelers organization and the men that represented that organization since he was a kid. Yep. And that's, you know what I'm saying? And that's what really got me to thinking, bro. Yeah. Like, I'm sitting there and I'm like, uh-uh-uh. Mm-hmm. Maybe, not maybe. I know. I reacted way too fast. Yeah.
45:42James Harrison:Hadibo, when I was watching the joint, bro, and end of the day, when you think about stuff too, like his resume does speak for itself. When Omar and them were asking, they were like, what made you want to bring in Karthi? Talk about his resume. And he legitimately does have a resume. Great offensive mind. And when I'm listening to him, he seems like he, like the passion. Like, it doesn't seem like he's like, it wasn't fake. It wasn't fronted. It wasn't, it was legit. And what you want from your coach too is passion. I feel like his understanding of the Steelers and the city and the people, he knows what he needs to do.
46:17James Harrison:He knows what he needs to bring. Like, all of that, like, he's not out there. He doesn't, this is a real thing that he knows he's going to have to come in here, but he's ready. And he's so, like, appreciative and accepting and ready for the challenge. I'm a real emotional person. So when I was sitting there watching, you can't fake that stuff. That doesn't mean he's going to be a great coach by any means. I'm not saying that's going to take away. But when you talk about having somebody that cares and want to, and it's not like his track record is terrible. No, he's been able to produce and do things the right way.
46:48James Harrison:So from that perspective of having him in the locker room, doing the right X's and O's, making the offense be good. You know what I'm saying? The one thing I did was I was listening about the defense. I didn't really know what he's saying. He wants to kind of keep it the same way. I'm like, I hear you, but I kind of need like. I think he said like 3-4. He wanted to keep like 3-4. Okay. I understand that. You understand that. I just want to make sure I'm like, dude, I just need you. And then whoever comes here, we need the same voice and everything. So as long as you got that, maybe a little different than I did.
47:21James Harrison:But offense, him, he got me. I was like, man, I'm here, coach. That's what I'm trying to tell you, Joe. I ain't going to lie to you, man. He got me to flip, bro. Because this wasn't just another head coaching job for him, bro. Yes. This was the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. This was the job. This was the job. The first thing he said is, when we bring that seventh Lombardi trophy back, where he was going to start the victory parade, bro. Mm-hmm. And he knows. He knows the streets. The number one goal of this organization is championships. Mm-hmm. So everything that he's going to do, he's going to do with whatever he needs to do within his power to make sure he can make that happen.
48:07And now I see why Mr. Rooney, why Lil Dan, I call him Lil Dan because he's Lil Dan to me. I see why Omar hired him. Yes, this is the right man for the job. And no, that doesn't guarantee he will succeed. But I know he's going to do everything he can to make sure that he does succeed. it switched me to all in Joe again as you said he's an offensive coach first thing he said was like yo defense wins championships he will play the 3-4 and then he said I'm calling the plays on offense you know this right now it ain't going to be no who's calling the plays I love that oh the old coordinator is with the name but I'm doing it at no I'm doing it it's me it's right here it's what it's going to be Yep.
48:54I love that. I love that. And the fact that he gave Aaron Rodgers credit, now they're trying to say, oh, that's what he wants. No, I gave Aaron Rodgers credit. Everybody gave Aaron Rodgers credit. They should because it was him. Like, that was the reason. But he also said we're going to talk and see what happens and see if it works out that it fits for us. It fits us. Yes. Not Aaron.
49:17James Harrison:It fits the organization. It fits us trying to win the seventh championship. And they basically gave the man a deadline. We going to know within the next month, period. Yep. I'm rocking with it, Debo. I feel like he wants, he's ready. He knows, like you said, he's going to bring everything he possibly can to try to win a Super Bowl. And he knows this is his spot. This is his landing spot. This is the job he wanted. He didn't want to go, like, I think him landing here, he couldn't be any happier. And that's, I don't think you could really, you can't fake those emotions. You know what I'm saying?
49:51James Harrison:Like that was legit family there being from there. And I don't know. But I love it. When I bring, when we bring the seventh party, he knows what it's about. It ain't lip service. It ain't none of that. It's the seventh Lombardi period. We ain't getting all this right route. Boo, boo, this, that. No, it's championships. It's the Steelers. He knows what it is. He been there. He been raised on it. He saw all the steel curtain, everything is championships and nothing less. Yep. I'm rocking. I'm rocking with McCarthy. I ain't going to lie to you. Matter of fact, he just hired Patrick Graham as the defensive coordinator.
50:30Okay. He had him over there in Green Bay in 18. I guess he was in, what is that? Looks like the Raiders. The Raiders defensive coordinator. The past three seasons, he was with the Raiders. What did the Raiders' defense look like? The offense was boo-boo.
50:50James Harrison:I think that was the only thing that was good. Yeah, the defense was straight. Hey, Chad, what the Raiders defense looked like? What the Raiders defense was ranked. Tell me something.
51:07Yeah, looking at it, he got him a decent one. He got him a decent lineage over here, though, for sure. He got, what is that, six? Seven? Six years? going back coordinating?
51:24The D coordinator? 2019. Going back to 19.
51:29James Harrison:We going to see, man. I don't know how good the Raiders D-21. But I know, man, Max was out there hooping.
51:41Listen, I'm going to guarantee you this. I know they beat this. The press conference he had, he ain't bringing nobody in here that the guys ain't going to look at, understand, and have an understanding that, yo, it's going to be buy-in because he knows the job can get done with the people he's bringing in. He ain't bringing in nothing less.
52:02James Harrison:I think that's what they were saying, too, about the Raiders' defense. The Raiders' defense had the cheapest defense in the league. So he was doing good. They said the Raiders did more with less. They did more with less. He didn't have a lot of money over there. And now, I mean, we got some ballplayers over on our side. So hopefully just the talent that we got could be able to help them out. And it's about to be done contract. Running a business is hard enough. Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age. What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year?
54:28He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction. In each episode, a different guest and I will go deeper into the wacky mishaps, scandals, and sagas, both on the track and far away from it, that have made F1 a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years. 55:12I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Please search for it.
55:51James Harrison:This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of he said, she said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. I have done nothing except get pregnant by the f***ing bachelor! Listen to Love Trapped on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
56:19They said, right here, so-so, but better than us. Y 'all are disrespectful, man. No, D-Bo. You online. You said - Hey, I told you we was bad. We was bad. We was in the 20-somethings. Yeah. We finished 25th. I think we finished 25th. The offense finished 26th. Yeah. Like y 'all said, I was hating the whole time. Oh, James is hating because the Steelers caught it. No. No. If the truth hurts, let the pain flow. Period. Get out your feelings. Get in the numbers. The numbers will tell you the truth. Numbers will tell you the truth. Mm-hmm.
56:58James Harrison:You're going to have to get it right. We're going to do some... In-line women lie, but numbers don't lie. Joey Porter Jr. up on his deal. Herbic up on his deal. Lil Peasy up already? Uh-huh, Lil Peasy about to get it. I think he's about to be up. Oh. Mm-hmm. He got one more. Oh, he was second. He was second round. wasn't he? Yeah. He might. Nah, I think they still get you with at least three and a tail. Hold up. What's Joey, let's chat. Joey Porter Jr. What's Peezy's? What's Peezy's contract? What's Peezy's contract is, chat? We need help. We know y 'all know. He's four. I know he's, he going, He's coming up.
57:54James Harrison:I know him and Herb coming up. Herbic coming up already? Him and Herbic, Brody. I don't know if we... It just depends who out there. I don't know if we're going to be able to keep Herbic. It depends who looking for something. Because it's three. It's Herbic, it's Highsmith, and it's Swat. And you think we're going to let go of Herb? You forgot about TJ? No, TJ. TJ's still got... TJ's not going nowhere. I understand that, but I'm saying that's money. Oh, yeah. I'm saying we may not be able to hold on to him. Because somebody may be able to give him. Not somebody. Somebody would definitely be able to give him more than we could give him.
58:36Oh, for sure.
58:43Like, is he up-up or? That's what I'm saying. Like, if he ain't up-up, if he up-up, we ain't going to be able to hold on to him, bro. There's no way. there's no way we'll be able to hold on to him like I mean arguably he was fighting for the number two linebacker on the outside between TJ and Heisman yeah but see
59:11James Harrison:Herbert signed a four year deal and this man yep this is his last year on his deal so after this season but you know how the Steelers are This season coming or the one that we just passed? This season coming up is going to be his next year. Oh, okay. Well, we still got a hold of him then. You know, we still got a hold of him. They'll probably dangle something in his face. You know, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. You know, something like they did with Highsmith. Yeah, they can't do that, though. They going to have to, bro. They can't do that much. That's starting. But they going to have to get.
59:47James Harrison:But the thing is, the Steelers do a great job on giving. the first year is the only thing that's guaranteed. You know they don't get nothing passed after that first year. No, they do. They do now, man. They do. Not really, except for like TJ's deal. Well, you got to, even when I did mine, I knew mine was a three-year deal because that's all the money that was guaranteed. I knew the fourth year came, it was going to be a restructure or I was going to get released. That's what happened. And they didn't want to guarantee nothing in the restructure. So I'm like, yes, I can't do that because what's to stop you from saying the year after that you want me to take another pay?
1:00:27James Harrison:No, you ain't lying. We just got to look at the deals, honestly. Bruh, let's go over here. Speaking of deals, your boy Bo Nix, he didn't like Peyton. I had to say about him. Yes. Did we got that? Why did he, this is what I want to know. Why would the coach release all the information, though? Talking too much. Why would you even say that? Like, you're saying what the surgeon said and all that. Like, who does that? Is he trying to, hey, is he trying to, hey, listen. Listen, I'm just, I ain't the one to say this. I am going to say this. but I ain't the one I'm gonna say it because I'm thinking it okay this is what I'm thinking maybe he trying to put a little mark out there on him so that he can try and get him for the low no it's too early it's too early it's too early I think or maybe he's doing that so that he could maybe have a reason to pick up something else sooner another quarterback yeah I don't know, man.
1:01:47James Harrison:I don't know. I don't know, man. Sean Payton, I don't know. His relationship with these quarterbacks sometimes get a little crazy. He just be saying like him and Russell wasn't on the same. He was acting crazy with Russell. Disrespecting my young man. Then with this Bo Nix, this is your young franchise. Why are you talking so much about him? Just be quiet. And then Bo's like, no, he has a history. It was definitely going to turn. Bo like, man, be quiet. You know what I'm saying? Leave me alone. Why are you speaking on my injuries anyway? Coach don't know what he's talking about. Like, Coach, just sometimes, just be quiet.
1:02:17James Harrison:He's like, you know, Coach trying to be funny. And then I seen he said, I told him, oh, if I knew you had these ankle injuries, we wouldn't have drafted you. What? You didn't see that? Yeah, Coach Sean Payton said the joint to him. So, like, he just be trying to be so funny and so cool sometimes. It's not funny. You know how players, they always got to keep your mouth shut. Just be quiet. Well, it's funny then, but when you go and you actually repeat it at the – In the decision, I guess it ain't fine. It ain't. It ain't. I feel Bo next. Oh, my goodness, bro. Coach, you just out here trying to make me look injury prone.
1:02:56James Harrison:It's like, it wasn't if, but when. Right. That's what they said, bro. It wasn't if, but when. It wasn't if, but when. But you know anybody. If anybody else want him, it ain't about if. He's going to get hurt. So if you want to try to give him a couple hundred million. But you know, Debo, how when we're playing in the league and say you get an ankle sprain, if they were to go look at our ankles, it would look already like something's messed up with it. Like our stuff just isn't sitting just normal, clean. Your ankle, never mind. Well, shit, my joint, I know I had ankle surgery. And now, I mean, when they first went in, it's just the wear and tear.
1:03:32James Harrison:Like my shit looked like it might need to get some work on it. So some of our, some of my stuff. Damn, man, don't be putting me in them weak ankles with you, bro. I'll be doing that, bro. I'm holding up against my weight plus another, you know, two, three dudes my size are bigger. You know what I'm saying? My bad. I'm going to leave it on my ankles. You got them fleet, like, quick. They ain't used to having to take all that power. I got them hydraulic ankles. I got them Percy Harvin ankles. I got them Percy Harvin ankles. Yeah. Yeah, that nigga Percy, boy. Crazy. oh my god bro that's that's wild though i ain't never seen a i ain't never seen i ain't never seen a coach go that deep into detail bro about somebody's especially like the actual surgery what the like what huh like are you even allowed to be talking to my doctor you should get fired I don't know.
1:04:33Hey. Bo Nick Shapiro. I'm feeling violated for him right now. Mm-hmm. Like, I don't know.
1:04:43James Harrison:Yes, they're exactly right. Peyton out here violating HIPAA laws. Yeah, no question. Giving an inside info on your own quarterback. He's snitching on his own mans. Listen, so why would you do that? The only way, listen, I'm trying to tell you. He's trying to get paid for the low. Man, no. He's trying to set it up for later on. He think he's being slick. Bro, I'm going to tell you this. Did you see when Dak broke his daggone leg and still got$60 million a year? So this little minor ankle injury is not going to keep that man away from that dub. Do you remember? I know what you're talking about. You know what I'm talking about?
1:05:21James Harrison:I'm just trying to think of a rebuttal. Yeah, there ain't no rebuttal for that one. You're talking about an ankle sparray you're trying to hire. I'm like, Coach, no, you just sound like a rebuttal. I'm just trying to think of a rebuttal. That's all. That joint snapped off the leg and that man went and got 60 a year.
1:05:37I don't know, man. I really don't know. Joe. You? You know what time it is? Yes, sir. Time for Play of Fade presented by Price Pitch.
1:05:59All right, Joe. we got UFC 325. We let the staff make these picks, bro, for Saturday night. Now look here. Let me know if you gonna rock with this, if you gonna fade this, or what else you gonna do. Do you even watch it, bro? See, what I'm not about to do is lie. What I'm not about to do is lie. Okay. I don't know these dudes. Listen, I'm going to tell you right now. I'm waiting on my son to hit me back, but this dude don't get up. Oh, listen. Tell me, it's noon, D-Bo. Bruh, listen, listen, listen, listen, bruh. It's my vampire in your house. Let him do this. Listen, it ain't my fault. It is my fault.
1:06:49I went with it, too. I ain't going to lie. The dude actually getting better grades doing online. You know what? So you can get a little sleep, then. Man, little sleep. I guarantee this boy don't wake. What's today? Friday? Friday.
1:07:05He got to go to the gym at 2.30 or something like that. He ain't going to wake up till 1. Damn, what time does he go to bed? I don't know, man.
1:07:17James Harrison:See, that's what you don't know. He went to sleep right before the show. He went to sleep at 10. You know what? He be claiming so many things. I couldn't sleep. You know, it was rough. I'm like, you couldn't sleep with your spin up running through my mind. He tried. I ain't going to lie. His grades on point, though, because they better do. I ain't going to lie. Come on, man. I was fighting. I was fighting like, no, he got to go to school. So he's like, no, I'm trying to tell you he got to do better. And he did. I'm like, ah, I hate when I'm wrong. So he at the online, he don't go to school at all?
1:07:48No, bro. He do all his courses online. Oh, yeah. He winning. Yeah. Yeah, he winning. Yeah, he winning. I'm glad he doing a good job, man. Yeah, he doing good. But he watches the UFC, though. So I'm going to have to. I'm trying to. I done texting and everything. I'm trying to let him sleep, not disturb his sleep.
1:08:11James Harrison:All I'm going to tell you is this. For me looking at this, and this joint says under 104 significant strikes, and just my math, I'm thinking if he hit that dude 103 times, he got to be seen by this. Let me see that face. That's a lot of hits. Hey, hey.
1:08:35We got... I'm going to try and pronounce these names, bro. See, no, you better than me. All right. The F is for a fighter, right? Or is he a forward? That's just a fighter.
1:08:46James Harrison:That's just a fighter, man. Hey. Total rounds two. F.I.L. Fizzes Ufus. Total rounds. It's got to go over. It's got to go over. What's his name, Chad Fizzu? It's got to go over two rounds. Is it Fizzies, Fizzu, Fizzes? What the name is? I'm not. Fizziev. Say that. Fizziev. I can't even say that with my braces for what? Fizziev. You got it. You got it. Fizziev. You got it. They say he going to go mowing a round and a half. I'm looking at him. He got a big beard, so hopefully he can take a couple face shots. No, I ain't going with that. And he fighting first? He fighting first? Yep. He fighting first?
1:09:36Yes. All right. All right. All right. All right. We going to go with it. I like. Who he fighting? Oh, he fighting M. Ruffy.
1:09:48James Harrison:Yeah. He sound rough. I can't do anything. We're going to go with it, though. We're going to believe in them. We got Daniel Hooker. I know that one. You know Daniel Hooker. Over 32 and a half strikes, I like that. That sounds more reasonable. Yes. Now, listen. I know the Alex. I just can't pronounce.
1:10:12Volkanskijski. Volkanskij. We got D-Loups. Loops. I don't know who that is, but I know that dude. I done seen his face.
1:10:22James Harrison:I seen his face for sure.
1:10:27Like, yeah.
1:10:28James Harrison:I ain't going... What are you thinking, D-Bow? I'm going on you right here. I'm going to go with it, but... Who are you fighting? Lopez, Lopez? They fighting each other. They fighting each other. I think they got Alex. Alex looking like under 104. I'm trying to tell you, man. I think Alex is a striker, though. He's like... We don't go with it, though. We don't go with it. Oh, he fighting the dude below. Yes, that's what I'm saying. Diego. Alex is fighting Diego. And they think Alex is going to hit him less than 104 significant strikes. I don't think he's going to last that long. That's the only reason.
1:11:12Yeah, that makes sense, then. Yeah. Yeah. All that's good. All that's good. All that's good. All that's good. All that's good. We're going to run with it. We're going to run with it. Look here. Make sure y 'all download the app today and use the code DEBOJO. Not Debo and Joe. DEBOJO. This might still win. To get$50 in lineups after you play your first$5 in lineups. The code DEBOJO. Let's see what the chat talking about, man. Uh-huh. What we got, Joe? Super Chat. Super Chat. Is that, am I going to go DMOZ?
1:11:54DMOZone1. Stop doing all these goofy ass names on y 'all's chat.
1:11:57James Harrison:Which is more important, please? Okay. Which is more important? It looks like DMOZone. Yeah. DMOZone, who knows? Yeah. Is it DMOZone1? What is it? Read it, Debo. Yeah. $20. We're going to appreciate you for that$20. Thank you, though. That's a fact. That's what we're going to do. It says, which is more important to players' success, a quality head coach or coordinator? Debo, you once stole my hat at the Pittsburgh airport. Thankfully, you gave it back. Why'd I take your hat? Man, he must have did something crazy to you, Debo. I know you're not just walking around taking people's hats off their head in the airport.
1:12:47James Harrison:Respect you guys. Great show. Thank you, my man. Which one you think is more important? Here's the thing. Quality.
1:12:58James Harrison:For me, it depends how much. Yeah, go ahead, Joe. How much, how much power, how much power does your head coach have? Like some head coaches are also the D coordinators. Some head coaches are all in tight and that stuff. Some head coaches stay out the way, let their coordinators handle the offense or the defense. So just depending on what your head coach is, is your head coach a defensive-minded head coach to where he kind of basically runs your defense? Or is he just more of an overall sit back, let the coordinators do their things, and then just kind of come around and make sure oversee the whole team and make sure everything is everything?
1:13:32James Harrison:So in that case, it's more of what type of coach is it? Like, is it a head coach that's more hands-on and this is what his defense is? Or this is how I run my offense? Or is he more of, I'm going to put the coaches in position to run this thing? yeah I'm with you on that so it's dependent on how well if if if if we're saying as the positions are said head coach head coach coordinator coordinator then I'm going to say it's the coordinator because the coordinator should be allowed to do exactly what it is that he was hired to do and that's pure coordinate now same thing though from that you still have to go to the position coach so position coach coordinator if they're allowed to do what they're supposed to do and you have hired someone that is smart enough and has the the knowledge to to relay it to you in ways that you understand then that's great like I said before but linebacker coach related to me great he gave me the defense coach the bowl's defense the same one I thought was so hard to learned tailor-made once I sat down understood and got to it so the combination of actually having the person in position and allowing them to do that position that's what will change like like who's more important because if I'm a head coach and I know I know not I have had no head coaching experience but I go and hire a fire d coordinator I hire a fire offensive coordinator and from those D &O coordinators.
1:15:07They say, I need X, Y, A, B, C, D coaches at these positions. And I say, go ahead and run it. All I'm doing is sitting here managing time of when we're going, where we're doing it, how we're doing it. And then I'm just letting them run with it and report to me what they're doing. And making sure that message is getting drawn out to the team.
1:15:28James Harrison:Yep. Yes. Yep. We got another one, Debo. Mike, Mike, say, what up, Debo and Joe? with Bill not being first ballot, does this mean Brady will also not be first ballot since Spygate and the Playgate also helped his legacy? If that's what they're saying, if they trying to say it was because of Spygate, then, hey, if the coach ain't going in, that got molded in the player, how the player go get in? I'd say they'd be losing their got-dag on minds because the same thing we saying, I don't care, then Tom Brady went to Tampa and got a whole nother one. by himself. So Brady got seven of them joints and take away one of the ships.
1:16:10James Harrison:Like, no, there's no way. Tom Brady, like we said it again, if you say the name and you think about it and you just say, oh, no, that's first battle. Listen, coach can't get in. Listen, coach can't get in with a hot time go get in with seven. Because then it's going to be a double. It's going to just be even. They just going to compound on top of the agency if they do it. They like Tom. It's hard to dislike Tom, bro. Man, that's what I'm saying. Yes. I told you. Man, I done said this a million times. Dude, I got there and I wanted to dislike this dude. I'm like, man, I hate this. I hate this. I hate this bastard.
1:16:44Hey, same thing with the coach. I'm like, dude, it's going to be a horrible talk to this dude. Nope. No. Like, time is just straight time. He ain't changing how he is. Bill was changing because he didn't like talking to the media. Time is time. I'm sitting over there and I'm watching him do it. I'm like, yeah, he going to slip up. He going to do something. He going to do something. Every now and then, you see him crack a little bit. Like, oh, he snap off on... Nope. Nope. Nope. First person to me. Like, hey, man, Tom Brady. I'm like, man, I know. That's what he said. Go introduce himself. But, hey, bruh, practice squad dude, come in.
1:17:18Dude just getting in. They just picked up. Same thing. Same thing. No, that's what he said.
1:17:22James Harrison:Bruh, I've heard that he said he just come over there because he just introduced himself. Make yourself welcome. Make yourself one of the guys. Have a beer with the linemen. like I never hung out with Tom but that's what you hear and you got you James you have no reason to lie the one thing you gonna do I know you will keep it a being you gonna say what it is I didn't wanna like him I had to tell him too I had to tell him dude I had to tell him I was sitting there getting taped and he sitting there like running across from me I'm like dude I ain't gonna lie to you I gotta tell you the truth when I came here I wanted to hate your ass I said but I can't I said you actually a real good dude telling you.
1:18:00James Harrison:It'd be like that, straight up. But if they keep out Uncle Tom, I'm blowing everybody to Hall of Fame. It don't make no sense. Why you call that man Uncle Tom, man? That man Uncle Tom, he been in the league so long. It was Uncle Tom when he was in there. Just call him Tom. Okay, Tom. You don't like Uncle Tom.
1:18:23James Harrison:Hey, look here, man. We up out of time, man. We want to thank y 'all for joining us on this episode of Debo and Joe. Yes, sir. Please like, subscribe, and download. We will be back here on Monday. Y 'all don't want to miss it. It's going to be something special, Joe. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Make sure y 'all come back. Catch me and your boy Debo Monday. We will be in Super Bowl next week, so we're going to be a whole different location. We're going to let y 'all know what's popping. But, yes. We'll be here Monday. We'll be here Monday, though. Yeah. We out. We out.
