2:48Welcome back to D-Boy and Joe. I'm your host, James D-Boy Harrison, I'm here with my co-host Joe Hayden. Please make sure you like and subscribe and download wherever you get your podcast. Joe, how you doing today?

3:03James Harrison:Brother Debo, you know it. Another day, another day, another dollar. Another day we wake up, get to talk, get to chop it up about these sports, about my good mans, what's going on. We got some good football. We got my young man CJ. It's crazy. Yeah, I don't know. I see when we're starting the show off with CJ, and that's my good young man. So this is where now when we're on the show and I start feeling uncomfortable because we got to talk about what was said. You know what I'm saying? So we're going to watch. Hey, let's go ahead and play. Let's go ahead and let it play. Let the people hear what was said, Joe.

3:36Go ahead, man. I think just the turnovers. You know, like I haven't really been prone to turnovers in my career, especially like, you know, the timely turnovers, you know, where, you know, like I told y 'all before, I'm really, you know, So I've been on some great teams my whole career where a lot of them were offensive driving and playing for Coach Day where we're taking shots. And then being on this team where we're more full everywhere, where it's offense, defense, and special teams where defense is making a bunch of plays. So this year was a step for me where I didn't have to be Superman all the time.

4:14And I'm still growing in that. You know what I'm saying? So, you know, I appreciate my teammates are taking a lot of pressure, you know, off of my plate. But also, you know, they do know that I can make those plays. Joe, Joe, hey, so he ain't got to be Superman. Like you said, you know, it's easier. At least that's what I'm getting. Joe, make this make sense for me.

4:39James Harrison:You tell me. No, you give me what you say, what you feel from this first, Debo, please. All right, Joe. So go ahead. What this is telling me is that he don't need to go be Superman, as he said. But I feel like he feel like maybe he need to go be Superman. Maybe, you know, because like you said, you know, maybe it's because the defense playing too good. This is why this is why he's having these issues. Man, my chair keeps sinking. I have to get a new one. That's why he you know, that might be, you know, why he's he's having these issues. and you look at it and you go back and it makes you think of when he said, you know, I'm not as quick as I used to be compared to what I was when I was in high school and he watching his high school tape, you know, he was lighter and fat.

5:29I talked to him about that one. I told you he said he was being sarcastic on that. So, you know, maybe that's the issue why, but he has to understand too, you're in high school, you're not playing against the NFL caliber. So with that said, you know, he came back and said he was joking. But the fact is, you know, it's actually a little bit of truth in every joke. You know what I'm saying? So I think he, you know, he's believing or feeling at least. And once you start to feel it and you start to believe it, you know, what you focus on is what grows.

6:08James Harrison:Yeah. You know, expect it, expect the worst and you'll find it. You know what I'm saying? Wherever it is. So I think right now that's a lot of it. And he's just so far into his head right now that he can't kind of get out of his way. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Yes. OK. So I'm going to come from the perspective of, like I always been telling you, I love CJ Stroud. I think he's a great person, great kid. But when you don't play well, you know what I'm saying, you got to be able to kind of own up to it. So just saying like the defense did good and you were – when you don't play well, you got to stand up on that and take it.

6:49James Harrison:You're a professional quarterback and that's just – you don't do good, you don't do good. You're trying to like point out other things and make a little bit of excuses for it. You don't have to do that, CJ. You know what I'm saying? We know what you got. We know what you got. And we know when you do play well, you know what I'm saying, stand on it. That's what you're supposed to do. That's how you play your rookie season. Amazing. And you started coming down and not playing as well. I think those last two games, when he lost all those fumbles versus Steele, that was a very bad game. Then when he played against the last one, when he had those four picks in the first half versus the New England Patriots, that was a very bad game.

7:24James Harrison:So when you end the season bad like that, you got to kind of stand on it. I know when you want to kind of like don't want people to forget the good times, the good old days, like what you were doing. and like how you made these plays, but that's not the time. Your agent, offseason, you're going to figure that out. But at that very moment, you got to stand on, ah, I got to do better, not our defense is doing so good and I'm just trying to – they know I can make these plays. This is not the time for us to talk about the good old days. You know what I'm saying? Just take it on the chin. You know what I'm saying?

7:54James Harrison:You have to play better because the defense is doing their thing. They balled out. Like now it's a team game. So you're saying you used to be able to throw it deep. Right now you're asking for checkdowns. Don't throw interceptions. Don't put them in positions to lose the game. Like, you normally, like, when you have a solid team, it's offense does well, defense doing their thing, and special teams. Right? In these two games, you are hurting your team. You know what I'm saying? So this is nowhere for you to, like, stand on it. You just had two bad games. It's going to be good. You're going to move on.

8:23James Harrison:But blaming, like, just saying, like, it's just, I just don't want to, that's just not a place for my man. You don't need to talk about that there. That's just not a good time. Not the right place. Yeah. Like you said, his rookie year, dude, he had a good year. He had a good rookie year. In the second year, everybody, well, not everybody, a lot of people have a slump. And I think the reason why a lot of people have that slump is now I know what it is that you do well, don't do well. It's not your rookie year anymore. I have time. I have a year of tape to look at what you do well, what you don't do well, and prepare for you now.

8:56He's looking at that, and that's the reason he went back earlier in the year and was like, yo, what did I do better that I was doing in previous years? And I'm not going back as far as my high school because that's just that's wild. But you look at, you know, this year he was set 52 times compared to his rookie year was 38. Well, he was using his legs to get out of it. He was quicker, faster. So now he's looking back at tape and he's like, oh, that's what it is. I was quicker. I was faster. I felt like I was more athletic. So now he really getting into his head about how it is that, you know, he think he's performing or need to perform.

9:32I'm like, you got the same offensive line. So that's the only, well, as far as how well they played, you know, and he's looking back and he's like, okay, I was able to get out. How was I doing it in high school? How was I doing it in college or whatever that may be as far back as college, as far as back in high school, like I said, it's crazy to me, but that's what he's looking at. And right now he's really in his head. So now it's like, okay, what else is it? Well, I was asked to do a lot more. Maybe no. What are we talking about? That's like me telling you, Joe, hey, Joe, you ain't got it. Listen, all I need you to do, Joe, is not get beat deep and tackle the catch.

10:06I don't need you to break nothing up. I don't need you to intercept nothing. Huh? And that's it? Yes. Yes. All I need you to do is hold the corner and keep the quarterback in the pocket.

10:17James Harrison:Yes. So I hear CJ, and I know he's a baller, so I'm just knowing right now, moving forward, next year, it's time to go. You got to go ball. And I hear what you're saying, and just don't turn the ball over. but do what you do normally. If the big play is there, make it. If the big play is not there, check it down. You know what I'm saying? Like, be who you are, do what you do, and I know you got the ability. So that's just when he's making those comments, I just don't want people to be able to shoot shots at him because I know he's a good kid. I know he means well, and he's not trying to say, he's like, I just don't want y 'all to forget the stuff here.

10:54James Harrison:I'm like, leave that for us. Leave that for me to say you're a baller. You know what I'm saying? You've certain things that you had bad games. We're going to stand it out. You can't turn the ball over like that and have this type of defense. You could easily, I think you could easily win. So you're going to take that one on the chin, and next season, just don't do that. Team ball's out, and you're going to be still successful. You know what I'm saying? I think with his contracts up, too, like figuring out with Houston, you know what I'm saying? Are they going to extend him? Are they going to wait a year?

11:21James Harrison:Because his agent is amazing. I know he's going to go get that. Hey, that's what it's coming down to. Mm-hmm. Are you on that last leg right now? This is the proof. Your play has been declining. And then in the last two weeks of the season, the defense has been the only thing that has been – well, the last week – well, before last week. Before that, the only thing that was saving you was the defense. So now he's like, oh, man, you know, it's contract time. That's coming. So he's trying to – Oh, for sure. You know, he's trying to, you know, trying to kind of push away some of the negativity, like you said, and, hey, but I did this.

11:53You know, I understand that. Yes, let us and your agent do that. You know what I'm saying? So you got a whole another year, you know, because they're not going to let you go. They ain't going to do nothing goofy like that. So go ahead and show what it is that you can do. But I just don't like the approach of giving excuses like, yo, I played bad.

12:12James Harrison:Yeah, just stand on that because I know you're a pro. You're going to get what you – we know the GMs and us, we don't forget the good also. You know what I'm saying? It's not like we just forget everything when you do do this, but it's not for you now to bring that stuff up when this just happened. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Yeah, you know Derek Lewis, the UFC fighter? Yeah. He had his own opinion of what he think went on. Let's do this. What moves would you like to see the Texans make for next season? I guess we got to see what's going on with CJ. I think ever since we've seen him show up with Amber Rose at the softball game a few years ago.

12:49And Kim Kardashian and all that. And I'm like, man, it might be like a curse for him.

12:55James Harrison:Nope. Nope. Nope, I'm not letting him do that. Nope, nope. Hey, I'm with you, man. My thing is this. I don't know about the Kim Kardashian thing, but I think the Amber Rose thing, I think he just gave her a ride back to her hotel because her people left off or something. Yes, yes, yes. The Kim Kardashian, they was just in a, what was it, Super Bowl or something like that? Everybody just happened to be, it wasn't even hers. It was just like somebody else had something and it was everybody flooring through them. I'm not letting people do that, man. Yeah, I ain't going to do that. Like Kardashian?

13:25like this guy, that's way worse than what he's coming. That's like life changing. Like it's over with. You know what I'm saying? No, bro. Chill out. Nah, he ain't rocking. He ain't that level. You know what I'm saying?

13:37James Harrison:Man, them people they, I don't like, they're good people, man. I know Khloe because she was going with Dayton Tristan. You know what I'm saying? Homies, good people, bro. So I don't like that. Things happen. And I think the Amber Rose joint, like you said, he was being a good Samaritan. Being a good guy. Being a good guy. You know what I'm saying? and like, yeah, no. I'm not going to just, I'm not on Debo and Joe. We're not going to push that, the curse joint. Nah, nah, I can't do the curse, man. When it comes down to it, you play better on the field. None of this even come up. Bro, 1 ,000%. You don't throw four picks, then we good.

14:13Yeah, for sure. Becker Mayfield, let's go on over here. He called out Stefanski, your boy. Yeah, man. He said, can't wait to see him twice a year. He said failed as quite the reach, pal. Still waiting on the call, text from him after I was shipped off like a piece of garbage. Can't wait to see you twice a year, coach. Oh. And I guess... Tell him how you feel, babe. Yeah, I guess Joe defended him. But hey, obviously, this is your dude, you know, Stefanski. See, there you go. No, I'm just saying. Yeah, okay. I meant Baker. My bad. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, Sorry, sorry, sorry. Baker. Baker. Y 'all did win a playoff game.

14:55You know what I'm saying? I like Baker. Right, right, right. But what do you think of this comment? And he's saying the coach didn't text and call him, whatever that beat may be. Like, sometimes that just don't happen. I don't know what their talk was or agreement was. Like, you got released, Joe. Who told you or who talked to you when you were released?

15:14James Harrison:Oh, see, that's what I'm saying. When I did it, the head coach, Hugh Jackson didn't know, D coordinator didn't know. They called me, though, the GM, and they brought me in. you know what I'm saying? And I talked to them. We started, they let me know I was released. So they didn't know, but I went and saw the coaches and they were trying to figure it out. But yeah, so I met, I saw the coaches. I saw everybody. I saw the GM. I walked through the thing and they called me in and it was a sad day. But I'm saying for Baker, I could, I don't know how the coach, I would expect that if he has a good relationship with the coach, that he would have definitely gotten in touch with them and tried to figure it out.

15:48James Harrison:But that's where I'm saying where sometimes who's running it who's making decisions the gm released me without hugh jackson being being aware so i was just getting cut and he's kind of like oh but you talked to hugh right yeah but then i went in there and talked to you and they were talking about trying to figure something out but the gm was like no the decision was made they made the decision i wasn't willing to take a pay cut and you're out you know what i'm saying so that was like okay coach what you're gonna tell me joe's not taking a pay cut we're letting him go you know what i'm So that's where I'm like, with Baker and his relationship with the coach, what was Stefanski saying to him?

16:23James Harrison:Were they saying that he's going to try to keep him? I don't know those details. Baker knows those details between him and Stefanski. So when he says things like this, it's hard for me to step in and be like, yeah, I mean, if you just got cut, thrown out like no trash, and the coach didn't even holler at you, like you felt bad. It was like, oh, no, Joe, like what's going on? So we were literally talking. I seen him. So Baker could still be like, did you not say nothing to him? Did you not know what was going on? And he's like, oh, shit. Stefanski just went like the buddy on, what's the show? When he slide into the bushes.

16:56James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? That's what Stefanski might have did on Baker. Talking about Homer Simpson. Homer Simpson, yeah. Stefanski and I slid on the bushes on him. And Baker like, yo, where you at? You ain't going to give me no heads up, no nothing. So I could see why he would say that. But then he's saying, like, Joe. No call, no text. No call, no text, no nothing. But then Joe saying that the phone lines work both ways. I think he's saying you could have hit coach up. But if I'm Baker, I'm like, I'm the player. You in the position of power. You letting me, you chopping me, and you not going to holler at me?

17:25James Harrison:Like, I don't have the balls in your court. I want to be here. Everybody gets released a different way, and I understand what you're saying there because different people tell you, you know, you're released, whatever. Like, when you got released from up or you didn't get re-signed to Pittsburgh, like, it was probably – Boy, I didn't get re-signed to Pittsburgh. It was like, it was the agents talking to them. And then it was, once your contract is up, your contract is up. Like you just gracefully, like once exit meetings, I'm in the locker room during exit meetings. I'm crying. I didn't even go to the exit meeting for the Steelers because I knew it was over.

17:58James Harrison:We've been talking about trying to get the contract, seeing what was up. And then after the exit meeting, I'm like, oh, it's really done. So I didn't even walk up there to the exit meeting. I just packed my junk, had my little bag and left. I'm like, I know it's a wrap. You know what I'm saying? So that's how that went down. Yeah. Yeah, that's usually how it happened. Like, even when, hell, when I got released, I think I heard from Kevin or my agent or whatever it was and what they had coach. Like, that's not, you know, things are done different ways. Like, when I would get released, when I got released, when Coward was there, hell, well, once it was Coward.

18:33Like, actually twice it was Coward. And then the other two, I think, were, the last one, I think, was Colbert, again. And like the funny thing is like the first time I got released. So, you know, how you go in there and, you know, you sit down with the coach and they tell you, you know, whatever. Well, you ain't never because you was a first rounder. But anyway, I'm gonna tell you how it goes. OK, let me know how it go. So you go in there. They sit down. You know, I'm becoming like one of the, you know, the last cuts. And I'm like, OK, you know, sit down. He's like, all right. So, you know, we're going to release you and, you know, et cetera, et cetera, all this stuff.

19:14I'm like, all right, cool. And, you know, I just get up to walk out and leave. And he's like, you ain't got no questions? I'm like, no, you know, I ain't got no questions. He's like, well, I'm like, I really don't have no questions. And I said, I'm like, anything that I say is not going to change your opinion. So I don't have nothing to say. I don't have nothing to tell you, bro. You know what I'm saying? Is it going to change your mind? Yeah, I'm just going to get up out of here. Yeah. Right?

19:44That league is cutthroat, bro. Yeah, like I said, I ain't tripping. So you're talking about it. It's a two-way street. No, it ain't, bro. That ain't no two-way street.

24:10James Harrison:Lenovo, Lenovo.

24:14James Harrison:Wasn't that delicious? So good. Your bill, ladies. I got it. No, I got it. Seriously, I insist. I insisted first. Oh, don't be silly. You don't be silly. Look, they talking about Aaron Rodgers and McCarty. Ah, McCarty. What you think, bro?

24:56What you think?

24:57James Harrison:No. Rodgers and McCarthy, they go get that? Nope. I'm not... I'm not... I'm not... No. No. I want something. I want something fresh. I want something fresh. I want something new. Are we ready? Are we ready for the redo? Are we not? Everybody said it's ready for the redo. Like now since Tomlin's gone, Mike Tomlin's not there. We switched up. Danny Smith's not there. There's no more gum chewing on the side. No, Danny Smith. That's a hurt. That's a hurt. That one hurt. That one hurt my soul. They should have just signed him, man, and kept him, man. Because there's special teams and bankroll bars.

25:34James Harrison:Yes. As long as Bankroll Boss is there, Bankroll Boss, Kunk, and Danny Smith, just chilling. They haven't done no wrong. So I'm a little sad with that. But Mike McCarthy just gives me same old, you know what I'm saying? Like he's been in the league. No disrespect, though. I think he'd be a good coach, bring a good offensive mind. We need an offensive mind. I like them. I like where they're thinking. I like where they're going. But younger, you know what I'm saying? I like where they're going, but just a little younger. That's all I'm saying. Yeah. What do you think? I don't, I don't, I'm with you.

26:10I don't see it happening because Aaron is not the future of the organization. He's not. And, you know, to be real, I'm, I'm, I'm hoping he doesn't return because like, like you said, dude, this is a rebuild period. I know the Steelers don't want to say that or, or don't want to bleed at or just whatever that may be. like so if you don't want to say it because it just sounds bad but if you actually believe it that's worse because the reality of it is is that we have to actually rebuild this thing yeah it's not like you know they're saying they had a league source that was like yeah well the coaches will be interviewing stiller brass as much as they will be interviewing the coach and that's true dude like we are going to have to have and i call it this a first or second pick losing season if we want to get a franchise quarterback okay and we're going to have to give up everything and whatever else in the world to try and get one that is a proven one right now and ain't nobody He's been giving up one, dude.

27:21And I know Art said, you know, I don't know if this is a rebuild year, but he also said, I don't like to use that word. It's telling me, okay, he understands and followed that by we're trying to compete day one if we can. So I think he understands it could be a rebuild. And if that happens, then that's what's going to happen. But he's not, you know, he's hoping for the best. And again, it may not be the word they want to put out there. Like, yo, we're rebuilding. Still the fans get ready, especially when they ain't used to that.

27:55James Harrison:Yeah, and there's different ways of being able to rebuild. Like, we have the guy Will Howard. We need a franchise quarterback. But going younger, getting rid of some contracts, being able to get draft picks, being able to accumulate talent in that way, and being able to trade off draft picks. If you have a lot of draft picks, being able to trade one to get high, higher in the draft. Just doing something, being able to move, being able to have a lot more options when you are going younger. And if you do have a good coach and you have Will Howard, you have young talent that you're drafting that's playing well, you might not do good for a year.

28:29James Harrison:But that second year, you know what I'm saying? You can start really, it doesn't have to be like we're losing for three years straight. No, the first year, young Will Howard with a bunch of young talent trying to figure it out. Everybody's getting bruised. But the second year, they're building it up to be able to actually be nice. So I don't think they, the Steelers, the Roonies, they understand like it's going to be a little down, but not saying like a complete rebuild, like we're going to be terrible for four years. Nah, it's going to take a little time. We get the right head coach. We get the right quarterback.

29:01James Harrison:We start these draft picks that we have, the Herbics, the Washingtons, these dudes are actually balling. And then we do get rid of, say, DK Metcalf, and we get another receiver out here that's a number one that's hooping you know what i'm saying so being able to just have their mind open because it's a new coach it's the new dude that's coming in here he can do what he wants and bring in a lot of talent the same way like the like the patriots were doing you know i'm saying and the bears so just being able to know now starting off with a fresh slate having a good coach and being ready to move these pieces around and being able to like not not be attached to nothing i understand what you're saying but like we don't even really know what um what's the quarterback that we have now uh well we don't even know what he could do but that's what i'm saying like we have no we have no understanding of what it is that he's capable of doing so i mean it could work out it couldn't work out but it could talk about having him as the as one of the quarterbacks and then not having a proven and well obviously we're not gonna get nothing in the draft right now so yeah i ain't gonna lie to you this is what i'm saying if we We drafted Will Howard.

30:09James Harrison:We still have him. Let's give the man a chance. Do you know what I'm saying? And even if we're bad this year, we have a backup quarterback, Mason Rudolph. Like we said, it's not going to be the best of years, so we might not be good. We might lose with Will Howard. You know what I'm saying? So if he ends up, we lose this season, we end up being able to get a high first-round pick next season at the quarterback. This year, it may not be good. But is there somebody there for next season? You know what I'm saying? I don't know. I think that's something that they got to look at and see, because, again, this would be a reason why I would be like, OK, I want to bring Aaron back.

30:45Why? Because it is still make us competitive. We're not looking for that high, high pick for this coming year because we don't see it. But maybe we see it the year after. And then the year after that, go ahead and let the let the roster see what it could do by letting, you know, or proven veteran quarterback goal that you know can make you competitive. And for that whole year, you got an opportunity to see what it is that your backups could do that would be, you know, backing up, you know, Aaron or whatever. But I'm giving a whole, a whole lot of time for them on the ones and I'm just going to be like, yo, Aaron, you coming in, you could be game time, whatever it may be.

31:23But I don't know. That's a, that's a lot. That's a lot on the plate, But to go ahead and just say, hey, this is what we're running with, new coach. This is the quarterback you got from there. Figure it out. And if it ends up getting to that one, that first, second pick losing season and the right quarterback is there or whatever it may be, that would be great because we definitely 100 % need a franchise quarterback. Yes. We're going to move anywhere on this chart, bro, because we've been having too many just above the water seasons, making the playoffs, just missing the playoffs, getting in and getting kicked out in the first round, no losing seasons, that make us middle of the pack.

32:14We can't go get what we need because that's all we've been doing, the spot filling with the quarterback here, picking it up with the defense there, and now we got to the point to where the defense wasn't doing what they was doing. So Aaron Rodgers made it happen to where we got to where we're at. So I don't – like I said, I'm just getting ready, man. We got a year or two.

32:38James Harrison:This is what I'm saying, though. If Mike McCarthy gets hired and we keep Aaron Rodgers, how long is that going to – do you think how much longer is A-Rod going to be there at the quarterback? I don't see them hiring McCarthy. I just don't see that happening. because I think if they were going to do that, they would have did that already. And I think they're waiting on somebody over there in L.A. That's what I think. I'm thinking maybe it's going to be Shula or Flores or Weaver. I'm thinking them three right there. And they got to wait. I think they done had a couple of interviews with Flores already.

33:20They might be having a second one with Weaver. And the Shula, they like, all right, let's see. They can't talk to him until they're done. I like Shula. Yeah, I mean, I'm just happy they're not in a rush to grab something. They're really taking the time sitting back and looking at it, monitoring it and making sure whoever we pick, we're looking at this for the long term.

33:48James Harrison:And that's why I only wanted it to be somebody younger, just because? Like, younger and good. Like, that's it. I'm not knocking McCarthy. He's a good coach. He's just older. I want somebody that can be there for the next, for the Steelers, 20 years. You know what I'm saying? You want that coach to be there and be able to build. And you be like, no, like, I'm behind this dude because even if they do have a down year, he's coaching them up. You're just loving the way that everybody's moving, the way that things are going. Even if you're losing the games because you're like, oh, no, we don't have the roster yet.

34:18James Harrison:We're developing it. It's going to get there. Give him two years. and we'll be right where he needs to be. You know what I'm saying? That's where I could rock when I'm just having a younger coach where, yes, just the sky's the limit. And that's why I like that. Taking their time, for sure, like you said, but just get a good one because you're going to want to, during the down years, it's not like, but just in case, too, they might got to fire him. If you don't like the way that it's going really fast, like the way the Patriots were able to do with Mayo, like, ah, if you pick one real quick and it don't work and we're getting spanked, You're like, maybe it's just not the vibes.

34:52James Harrison:I don't know. Hey, Joe, I got a question for you. I got a question for you. I'm looking at the chat over here, man. And future quarterback, Archie Manny? Oh, and see, I ain't going to lie to you. He's, I got to, I don't know. I got to watch more tape. Because at the beginning of the year, I was like, he didn't look, he did not look that good. So he started playing a lot better. But we got to watch. I got to watch and see. Okay, man. I just can't put all my eggs in the basket. Hey, the Graggy student. Graggy student sent that question. $2 donation. Appreciate you. Okay. Okay. I'm going to watch more tape.

35:29James Harrison:You going to watch some of that? I'm going to watch some definitely more tape. Because at the beginning, he was not playing that well. And then he started playing better. So, like, I just thought, like, just off the rip, coming out, I thought his freshman year, he was going to be like, oh, my goodness, he looks like the number one. But he kind of was a little normal. He showed he was a little normal. So, I want to watch and see. I just can't throw out the number one overall. And I don't know. I understand. I totally understand. But do you, would that be something that considering his whole body of work, would that be something that would you think would be like a good move?

36:02You know? I mean, if he comes out on space, yes.

36:05James Harrison:If yes, it's yes. Yes. I mean, with the lineage, he going to have old Peyton in his ear now. Come on, man. You know? Captain. Great tutelage. So I'm not going to knock it. No question. No question, bro. Apple don't fall too far from the tree. It can't. It can't. Look at hell. Eli, too. Look, Eli even did. He went on hell and whooped on Brady twice. Oh, my God. You know? Little brother. Like, come on. Grandpa used to run the league. That's what I'm saying. Hey, listen. That's a bloodline, man. You can't go wrong with a bloodline. That's a beautiful tree. Can't go wrong with a bloodline, man. Playoff football, baby.

36:47Playoff football this weekend. Yes. The Patriots and the Broncos. Look here, Sean Payton basically said he guaranteed they go beat the Patriots and go to the Super Bowl this week. Listen to this. You tell me what this said to you. Well, they're going to have plenty of rest after this one in weeks. I can't.

37:13This is a team at the line of scrimmage.

37:19Hey, Joe. Yo. I think he might have realized what he said and then was like, ooh, I said the quiet part out loud. Uh-huh. And then got back into his train of thought. Uh-huh. I was trying to.

37:31James Harrison:What you think, Joe? I think he's – actually, that's what – like you said, he said the quiet part that was going on in his head out loud. He's like, ooh, all right, well, now it's out. So then he went back to the regular schedule of programming. but coach yeah he feel like they're gonna win the ship and that slipped out of his mouth how'd you let that go though how'd you like that was wild i think he just got used to just saying stuff out loud because he be he be on he be on rust so bad he just he just got reckless with it i guess he like you ain't even got your quarterback dude like you got what is it stand him yes stand him so like what but he signed him for two gotta run the ball bro you gotta do it effectively.

38:13They have to. Just so you can take pressure off of him. Who do you got? Who I got on this? Yeah. Come on, bro. Come on, bro.

38:25James Harrison:I got the pass. I got to take him. You got to take the pass. I got to. And that's exactly what I'm doing, too. I'm taking the pass. I'm taking the pass. The only way they can... I don't know how they're going to be able to run the ball effectively, but if they're able to, that opens up a lot. That takes a lot off the quarterback. So now the play action game comes into effect. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Like the quarterback can do what he need to do and manage the game. As long as he don't turn the ball over, that's it. That's a thousand percent. The Broncos, the only way they can win the game, they're going to have to run the ball effectively and keep that quarterback only having to throw, keep him ahead of the sticks.

39:07James Harrison:Third and shorts, throwing them things at Sutton, nothing too crazy. because their defense is going to have to be able to score. Oh, he's 100 % relying on his defense. The defense is balling, and this is where they can get the Patriots. Their linemen, them tackles, was getting whooped by my man Hunter and the other one from Texas last week. So now 15, the dudes from the Broncos, they're going to be able to get after them. Drake May fumbled the joint five times because their tackles are getting horsed, and the Broncos had 57 sacks this year. So scooping scores, Drake May, watch your back. You know what I'm saying?

39:47James Harrison:So Broncos' defense, if they can create turnovers and be able to get back, be able to short fields for the quarterback, don't make them have to do too much. And he's had a game though, Debo. I looked on the stats. I tried to check up on him. I was like, what did he do before? 2022, he threw for 365 yards, three touchdowns versus the San Francisco 49ers. in 2022, and it was the number one ranked defense, and they beat him in overtime. So he's done it before. He's done it before in a big game that was the last game of the season. So he's played NFL quarterback, and this is my thing too. He don't go out there and go crazy.

40:23James Harrison:We're not asking him to reinvent the wheel. You know what I'm saying? Run, we want you to depend on your run game and your defense. Hopefully they're going to set you up and don't turn it over. Don't be throwing balls that you shouldn't be throwing. You know what I'm saying? If you're behind the sticks, It's third and 13. Checkdown. Screen game. They need to help him out with the – I know this coach knows this too. He's not going to help him out with the screen. They're going to have good rushes. Let's give him easy stuff to kind of get him into the game. So nothing to make him lose it. Don't lose it for us.

40:52James Harrison:You don't got to go win it, but just don't go lose it. So there's a chance, but I like the Patriots for sure. I'm with the Patriots. Like I think Drake May and them, Booty going against – there's going to be one-on-ones. You know what I'm saying? They play a lot of man-to-man. Booty's going to have to make a play against my man Sertan. There's going to be one-on-ones. Are you going to make a play or are you not? You know what I'm saying? So I'm going to watch those. You make like they ain't got my boy Diggs over there either, though. They got Diggs, too. They got Diggs, too. Come on. He is 100 % relying on the defense, bro.

41:29There's no way. He went through his head. He was like, yeah, they done turned. Like you said, they done turned the ball over. They can't hold on to the ball. They're fumbling the ball. And then we can stop the run. But, but, but, but, but, but the defense did not stop their run against Buffalo. And I understand they're number one. But look at, look at New England at how they've been running that ball the last, I don't know, four, five weeks. Them boys hitting damn near 150 a game, bro. Yeah, they told him. They told him. They told him. He counting on crowd north, thin air. Hey, bro, the thin air, that's real, bro.

42:07The air up there is real. It is. It is. I've played up there, I don't know, maybe four times. 50 % of the time, bro. No doubt. No lie. I'm telling you the honest guy truth. I come back pissing blood, bro. Bro, like that air up in there, it does not agree with me. I'm talking like, dude, I'm Coca-Cola. Like, I guess the protein breakdown would ever do to stress my body out so bad. Like, my son had to go up there to get surgery in Vail. Like, and it's higher. It's higher than Denver. I didn't know that. I found out, though. 15 times, 20 times in one night, bro, I was literally waking up, like, just trying to get a deep breath.

43:01See? Okay. Patriots gonna be looking a little crazy out there. Listen, bro, and when you do the oxygen, you think the oxygen helps you. No, I don't do nothing but make it worse when you pull that mask off. I don't do nothing but make it worse, man. Unless you sitting over there long enough to get your breath all the way back, man, just real quick. Don't even... I was sitting on... Bro. Too long, bro.

43:28James Harrison:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I played out there one time and I don't know. It didn't affect me too much. Running a business is hard enough. I felt like I might have—I thought I might have had sickle cell traits like my boy RC or something.

46:49Yeah, he couldn't really play. I'm like, I don't know. Like, something ain't right. Like, he couldn't even play there, bro. Like, man, almost lost his lights over there. He gave his gallbladder and his pancreas over there, bro. That's crazy. Like, nah. Like, and he saying this, though, like, New England's defense, you know, it's just a pushover, though. Nah, Gonzalez and them boys be out there strapping. Like, come on, nah. You got a backup quarterback. Yeah. I don't care what he did in 22. He probably had more time playing then. He ain't seen no snaps this year. No, that's why he ain't played in a minute.

47:26James Harrison:That's why I just went to go look. I had to go see what he had. He did something. But if the Patriots lose this, that's on them. That's on them. Yes. For sure. Listen, I'm telling you right now. If the Broncos go in, I'm going to be very impressed. Listen, Vrabel coming out there, he is a defensive-minded coach, and he's going to take away the run game. And he's like, you're going to have to beat me with this quarterback who has not played all year. And he's going to have to make effective throws because it's not like we don't come after the quarterback because we didn't. Okay? And when they come down to it, special teams going to be a huge part in this one too.

48:05Yep. Field position. And if anybody strike out on somebody else, I don't know if they'll be able to come back from that one.

48:16James Harrison:there's no coming back from a touchdown, I don't think. I like, if the Patriots get up, the Broncos, I don't think they're coming back. If the Broncos can start to get up, I'm watching the joint more tight because I think the Patriots have a better chance for Drake May to get more points. But if the Broncos, if the Patriots strike out, I think that they can get them out the way. There's no way. I don't think they're going to be able to walk. Oh, yeah. They're not no walk now. Oh, yeah. They're going to start running the ball like they did against Houston. Yes, laying that weight on them. Yep. Like time control.

48:49James Harrison:Now you can't get the rock. We're up by 14. And you can't score two touchdowns. So the game is basically over if they get up by two scores. Oh, all day. Two scores, yeah. Two scores, I mean 10. It's free fall now. Uh-huh. Like, yeah, they going, going. So we're going to put a score out there then, Debo. What you think the game, what you predict the score is going to be, my brother, for the Patriots at Broncos? I got 23 to 10. Mmm. Okay. Okay. Okay. 23 to 10. I like that, actually. I'm going to go 20, 26, 26 to 13. 26, 13? Yep. 26, 13. Okay. 26-13 Patriots same thing almost down there let's go on over here and see what we got going on in the Seattles and the Rams who you got on that tell me what you thinking on this in my mind and in my heart I'm going with the Rams because I like Sam Bradford more than I like Sam Darnold okay my brother You like Stafford better than Darnold.

50:14James Harrison:I like Stafford more than Darnold. I like Matthew Stafford more than I like Darnold. So that's kind of where it sums down to. And I like the fact – I'm not – the Seahawks can win for sure. Yes. The Seahawks can definitely win. I'm not just going, oh, no, I got the Rams. I'm saying it because I have to pick. I'm not going to be over here just, oh, no, Seahawks, oh, no, Rams. Both of them can win, obviously. I'm going to say the Rams, but I would not be surprised at all if the Seahawks were to win the game for sure. Because Seahawks got everything. And it's really like Sam Darnold, you just don't mess it up.

50:49James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? Like, their special teams is better than the Rams special teams. Their run game, I mean, besides that, everything else is kind of comparable. I think the Seahawks' defense is better and their special teams is better. I just like the Rams because the Rams' defense is good enough. And then we got Puka. We got Williams. We got Adams, and I just like them. We got McVay. I just like the way that they call plays. I like the way they score points easily. Matthew Stafford throws the ball so well. No look, all those dig routes. Versus the Seahawks last time, he threw for 457 yards.

51:27James Harrison:So I'm like, in a one-game thing, I hear you with Seattle, your defense is number one, but he threw for 457 on you. He's averaging 297 yards in the last two games y 'all played. In their rushing game, they're averaging 130 rushing yards versus y 'all. So Seahawks, y 'all got everything. Walker, amazing. But they're missing Charbonnet. Charbonnet's out, but Walker III is good enough to run it for both of them. They got good tight ends. They got Jackson Smith. They got the special teams, like I said. So Seattle should win if they just play the way they normally do. And Darnold doesn't go out there and mess it up.

52:03James Harrison:The Rams got to go out there and play. Crazy ball. Special teams don't be out there losing your mind. Defense don't get ran over by Walker the whole game. And y 'all can have a chance. Yeah, I'm going to have to go with Seattle, dude. The Rams are going to have to actually run the ball effectively to keep Seattle's pass rush from doing what it is they do. Like... Not Bradford Stafford. yeah I said I correct you with Stafford yeah my man yeah the Rams are like I said they're going to have to run the ball effectively and they're going to have to keep with it like and I just don't I don't I just don't see them keeping with it and if they get behind and Seattle gets up and like you said Charbonnet is out but Walker Walker is totally he balled yeah no for sure Walker's a starter I'm just saying they had a double headed monster but it was a two headed monster but now with just one.

53:01James Harrison:That's why he had three Tunnies last game. Yes, bro. Yeah, he was going ham. Oh, my God. Like, and for me, I just think Seattle's defense is going to have more success against the Rams' offense than the Rams are going to have against Seattle's offense. Like, hell, even the last whatever it's been since the playoffs started, The Rams, what are they, 25%, 27 % on third downs? They're last of everybody that's left. And the Rams are down in the secondary a little bit, man. And Seattle guy JSN, Cooper Cup, did a little something last week. Along with the running back, he was catching balls out the backfield.

53:48I think he had like three, four of them out the backfield.

53:53James Harrison:You have a valiant, valiant, valiant argument. I mean, everything you say is correct. I'm like this, yep, yep, yep, yep, okay. And like, L.A.'s defense, bro, it ain't that. Like, they middle of the pack. You talking about going into the 12th man with all that? I just, dude, I just see Seattle actually pulling through this one and getting a W at the crib, even though they done beat them whatever number of times it was, I just, that's what I see because I believe they're going to be able to run the ball effectively. Like, look at last week, bro, where Darnold only had, what, 17 attempts. Look what they did at San Fran, bro, because they was able to run the ball.

54:46James Harrison:They was applying. They was putting that, yes, yes, yes, yes. You right. You right. You right. You might want to come on over here, Joe. Brother, I'm putting my belief in Matthew Stafford, okay, and Sean McVay. I believe that they are going to beat him. But if Sam Darnold goes out there and does this, then Sam Darnold is writing a new book. Because I never just really – I'm not too big of a Sam Darnold. I like him. I'm not a big Sam Darnold fan. But sometimes, that's what I'm saying. Right now, if he does this, he's going to show me something. You know what I'm saying? Like, he can do it. He can do it.

55:27James Harrison:I just believe, like, I don't know. He has a better team. So, I'm like, he's going to – he doesn't have to go out there. I could see why I could be on your side, Debo. But I just – I got to – I just believe that Stafford is going to do it. And show how go to – I ain't going to lie. I'm a little nervous, but I just – again, dude, defense. Defense wins championships, man. Defense wins championships. This is when I'm telling you, this is a reason why. And this is a better defense that's on the field. This is a reason why. This is a reason they came off a rest and balled out. This is a reason why Matthew Stafford is going to be able to be in that Hall of Fame conversation.

56:05James Harrison:Because the game's like this. We're not supposed to go in. And you're like this. I'm like this, brother. They had Matthew Stafford, though. You know what I'm saying? They had Sam Darnold, better team. They had Matthew Stafford. And that's why they won that. You know what I'm saying? And so I feel like if he goes and do it, that's why I'm like, I think he's a Hall of Fame quarterback. Because when he was with the Lions, they might not have the roster. But look, here, they got squad. Maybe not the best defense, but you got Puka, you got Devontae. And I'm putting my bread on Matt over Donald. So I'm like.

56:34I ain't putting it on Donald, man. I'm putting it on. You put it on the Seahawks. I ain't putting it on the defense. The only. Well. I don't dislike Donald. I just I'm just not like, OK, he's going to be able to go out there and do the thing. and then you add on top of it, he got an ab oblique issue or something that he got going on right now that's limited. So if they – but if they can't run the ball and they got to go throwing, throwing, I'm a little nervous then.

57:02James Harrison:I'm telling you, I'm excited. I can't wait to watch this one. The other one, I think, you know, it's going to be a good game because the backup quarterback – Seattle will go pull it off. Seattle will go pull it off. Rams will go pull it off. 20-17. 20 to 17? Yep. You're bugging. I ain't bugging. Defense going to do their thing. I'm trying to tell you. Let me tell you what the Rams are going to do. The Rams are going to score 33 points, and the Seahawks are going to score 24. Oh, you're bugging. You don't like their defense, huh?

57:42James Harrison:They going to just get passed on them. Wow. They going to get passed on. Matter of fact, no, no, no. Let me get them some more points. Let me get them some more respect. Why don't you just take less points off of LA? Because you really think they going to put 33 up on these boys? No, no. Okay, never mind. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're tripping. You know what? You know what? It's going to be close. 27-24. That's better. 27-24. Okay, I'll let you. Let me redo. Let me redo. A little delusional with that, but it's still delusional. Because I just was looking at the last one.

58:11James Harrison:It was 38-37. It went overtime now. So that kind of threw my whole thing off of why I was going so high. Oh, they done learned from that, though. They done learned from that. Okay. I'm trying to tell you. 27? I already talked to everybody. You ain't talked to them people. I already talked to everybody. What up, man? It's time for Player Fade presented by Wise Picks.

58:50All right, Joe. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. You know how it go, man. Here go my picks for Sunday, man. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Your boy over there in Denver is not getting more than 200 yards passing. He is not. He is not, you say. Now, look here. I believe Williams go get more than 55. Only reason I believe he go get more than 55, I think they go try and hand the ball to him like 20 times. He go come out of there with like 60 yards. All right. But that ain't going to do it. That ain't going to do it. That ain't going to do it, though. Because Pooke back up to get over 91. You've lost your mind. And I know good and damn well Sam Darnold go get more than five yards.

59:29Pass him. I'm going to tell you this right now. Hey, man, who even put that on there, man? Listen. Listen. Whoever made this line, I appreciate you. I appreciate you, baby. I am not rocking with this line.

59:45James Harrison:Oh, what you doing? You think Puka's not going to have a hundred ball? Uh-uh. Oh, you're bugging out. They got to hold up to that password for him to get a hundred ball. Brother, brother, brother, brother. He's going to have a hundred for sure. A hundred for sure. A hundred for sure. A hundred for sure, Debo. I'm telling you, that's why I literally, I can't even. Yep, I can't do it. I can't do it, Debo. A hundred for sure. A hundred for sure. He's about to go. A hundred for sure. A hundred for sure. I could put it on their books. So you go fade that. Okay. I'm going to have to fade it, Debo. I'm going to have to fade it.

1:00:25James Harrison:Just watch what I'm telling you. Watch this one. Watch this one. Watch this one. I'm going to watch it. I'm going to watch it for sure. I'm going to be FaceTiming you. Listen, listen, Joe. I'm going to FaceTime me. When all that go wrong. Remember, I told you so. But this is what I need y 'all to do. Download the app right now and use the code DEBOJO. 1:01:08Joe. That's some breaking news. Hold up, man. Phillip Rivers is interviewing today for the Buffalo Bills head coaching job. How he going to interview for the head coaching job? Did he even coach anywhere else but high school? If they get him the job, we need to get the job.

1:01:25James Harrison:Debo, if he gets the job, Debo, you know what? You know something. Then our hat needs to for sure be in the ballot. because I thought you needed some, for sure, at least, coaching experience. I know how to coach. I've seen – I've been coached before. Bruh, and they say – reports say Josh Allen's sitting in on the coaching interviews. What? What's going on over here, man? Listen. Hey, look, man. Look, Josh Allen, though, I ain't going to lie. You already had the owner talking about, hey, listen, we ain't pick – He tied together. We ain't pick him. No, he said the GM didn't – he wasn't for him. That was them coaches.

1:02:05But we like him. But, huh?

1:02:08James Harrison:What? So this is what I'm saying. Josh Allen is sitting in on the coaching team. Bro, why is he even getting an interview, bro? He got five years in high school. That's it. Coaching. That's his old coach in five years in high school. No, I'm mad, bro. Debo. Debo. Debo. Debo. No, no. Don't be mad. Listen. Be glad. Be glad. I'm calling Art. I'm calling Dan. Be glad. Be glad. I'm calling Omar, and I better get an interview. If it ain't nothing else. Debo. Hold on, bro. Let me call these people. Call them, bro. I'm on my way. Hey. You at least get... Call them. Head up there. Damn. Head up there now.

1:02:44James Harrison:I'm on my way for the interview. Y 'all about to get me. They got Phillip Rivers right here getting an interview. He done did five years of high school. Five years of high school. I've been coaching my kids since they started. I've been coaching them. Ever since this, I've been doing 15 years. Go through the interview process, Debo. They got to give you an interview so now we can know the questions and what's going on and the ins and outs, you deserve an interview. If Phillip Rivers just got an interview, Deebo, ain't no way you can't get no interview. Call him. Call Omar, man. Bruh. Call Omar, man.

1:03:13I'm driving down there, brother. I'm driving down there. After the show.

1:03:17James Harrison:You got five minutes. Tell them they got five minutes, man. Bruh. I don't even need to put no gas. I gassed up last night because it's supposed to get cold. It's supposed to get down and negative. I had to gas up, make sure I ain't get caught on the highway, get stopped somewhere. I got to make sure. It's about to be 21 inches out here. Who? Where? Here? Out of where I'm at. Oh, I hope so. Not here. We bunkered down over here, D-Bo. We bunkered down. It's supposed to get real crazy in the northern Virginia, D.C. area. We're supposed to get 16 to 20 inches of snow. Bruh. I think we got a chance, though.

1:03:53I got a chance of actually getting hired. Now, looking at it, they say. D-Bo, you don't have a chance. You have a great chance. A great chance. A great chance. Norm Van Brocklin in 1961 is the last person to be hired as a full-time NFL head coach without any prior college. That's going to be me and Phil. 1961, me and Phil, we about to change this. We about to change the game. He going to be over there in Buffalo. I'm going to be over here in Pittsburgh. And we're going to be doing the thing, man. I'm telling you, and I'm going to be the DB coach. Yeah. Yeah, no question. I told you. Me and a half, Joe.

1:04:36I got to make sure you're right. You feel me? See, you're too kind. Hey, I got to make sure you're right, man. Thank you. Thank you, my brother. Listen, I already seen what you do. I done heard how you do it. We done sit there. We done talk ball. We done played ball. You know? We know ball. Ball recognized ball. You know?

1:04:58James Harrison:That's bold, brother. You know what I'm saying? We got some super chats, man. We got it.

1:05:06AB2LIT338 donated$20 and said, why do you think Ryan Clark said if Tomlin was white, then he wouldn't have been pushed out? He was pushed out. I don't know if he said that. He wasn't pushed out. yeah your premise is messed up so I don't think he was pushed out he gracefully bowed out yeah he made his own decision like I don't think he said he was pushed out because he well everybody knows he wasn't pushed out so yeah nah appreciate the money thank you brother All right.

1:05:59AB2LIT388338. Appreciate you. Appreciate you. But question messed up. Look here, back up. So, who you got in the Super Bowl?

1:06:11James Harrison:I have the Patriots playing the Rams. I mean, you almost, that's halfway. That's halfway. I got the Patriots playing the Rams. Patriots is right. The only part you're messing up on is the Rams. And then I got to think about it. Then I got to think about it. Okay. Okay. I mean, I like what you're saying. You know, everything sounds good, but we get to watch and see what happens on Sunday. That's exactly how I predicted it to happen. It's what's going to happen. And then anybody that ran with Joe and faded me going to be upset about themselves. Okay? Because their pockets ain't going to be sitting fat and heavy like mine is.

1:06:56Okay? Money's so tall, make all the tall. You understand? Yeah, Joe. Okay. Hey, look here, man. We want to thank y 'all for joining us on this episode of Deebo and Joe. So please make sure you like, subscribe, and download the show. We're going to be right back here on Monday talking about who it is that's going in the Super Bowl. Because it's going to be who I picked, not who Joe said. He go get halfway right and halfway wrong. Mm-hmm. He's going to be sitting there, and he's going to be like, damn, I should have listened to Debo. Joe?

1:07:30James Harrison:They listen to what Debo's saying. He's wrong. I'm going to be here telling you exactly how it went down and why it's exactly what I thought and not what Debo thought. So see y 'all here on Monday. And we out.
