In short

Debo and Joe discuss Cleveland Cavaliers playoff basketball (Cavs vs Pistons/Knicks), then pivot to Pittsburgh Steelers football—especially Aaron Rodgers signing—and debate Steelers quarterback depth and Browns roster direction.

Guest backgrounds

No external guests appear in this Part 1 transcript. Hosts are James “Deebo” Harrison and Joe “Joe Haden” Hayden, both Steelers-focused commentators.

Key claims

  1. Aaron Rodgers has signed a one-year deal worth up to $25M (base $22–$23M plus incentives) and is expected at Steelers voluntary offseason practices early.
  2. Steelers’ earlier signing improves the situation versus last year (when he signed near training camp).
  3. Rodgers’ presence is framed as a “best opportunity” for a Super Bowl run and a “final hurrah” at age 42–43.
  4. The “odd man out” among Will Howard, Mason Rudolph, and Drew Allar will be Will Howard (debated against Mike Florio’s take).

Notable examples

  • Cavs game six “bullying” at Little Caesars Arena; game seven won by 31; Donovan Mitchell and Donovan’s early assists; critique of flopping/push-offs.
  • Quarterback debate references Rudolph’s prior turnover/backup stints and Allar being drafted in the third round.

4:44James Harrison:Welcome back to this episode of Debo and Joe. I'm your host, James Debo Harrison, and I'm here with my co-host, Joe Hayden. So please make sure you like, subscribe, and download where you get your show. How you doing today, Joe? I'm doing amazing, my good brother Debo. Ditto. Ditto, man. I'm doing amazing too, man. I had a good time this weekend, man. I was out here at the Monroeville Convention Center, man. Okay, yeah. Did a signing a couple, you know, did a couple days of signing, man. The fans came out. They showed love, man. I showed love. Yeah, yeah. All that. We were talking about that, man.

5:28James Harrison:We're going to get to this. And, you know, I was talking to this little girl, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw you do an interview with your girl. I saw your daughter. Why you trying to speedball me, bro? All white J's. Why you trying to squeeze up? Guess who didn't give me the J's, though? You didn't get those J's? The J-Man. You got the J's yourself. The J-Man didn't. Those were OVO 12s, too, that you had on. I know. The great joints. You've been looking that hard. Bro, brother, you know I know the shoes. I know everything. I'm hip. The shoes you had on were fresh. The video with the little girl, she had on the number four DK Metcalf jersey.

6:03James Harrison:I peeped you, Deebo. I be watching you, my brother. But that's neither here nor there. We're going to talk about that after the fact that we talk about - Listen, man, I'm trying to show fans love, man, because that's what it is. This is about Steelers Nation. Yeah. Steelers Nation showed up and showed out. Okay. They sure did. That's what I'm talking about. Okay. Now we got Aaron Rodgers on the one - No, no, no, no, no, no. We're going to talk about A-Rod, but we got to go first to the Cavs. First Cavs real quick. First Cavs. Hold on, hold on, hold on. What is Cavs? Do they play - Is that a new football team?

6:37James Harrison:That's a new one in the league. That's a new team coming to the league for football. Deebo, that's a basketball team that we were talking about. Basketball. We were talking about Detroit. Basketball. Quick basketball. You see me. Hold on, hold on. What you talking about? It's offseason. We're talking about championships. We're talking about basketball. We're talking about winning titles. Basketball? We're talking about winning basketball titles. Basketball. We're talking about basketball. All right, let's talk about basketball. Yes. That's what we're going to do for sure at the top because it's still offseason.

7:07James Harrison:They got optional workouts going on with football still. Basketball, we're trying to win more rings. Trying to bring more rings to the land. Because you were talking all that Detroit, all that Little Caesars arena. But I ain't going to lie to you, Debo. You had me shook, game six. Because when I expected it to go, it didn't go the way I expected. So I was hoping and praying that it went down, that we had game seven, that it went down so we could come back to this show. and I can let you know we're advancing and you're not. So I'm going to give flowers. Who is we, bro? Listen, I told you. I ain't a Detroit fan.

7:43James Harrison:I'm just against Cleveland. Okay, well, whatever. Listen, this is what I'm going to do, man. I'm going to give a peace offering, man. It's so cold in the deep. Listen, man, I'm going to give a peace offering. Here go my peace offering. What's up? Pittsburgh ain't got no basketball team. They don't. The closest thing is Cleveland. Right up the street. I'm from Akron, Ohio. You are! A.K. Rowdy Rowdy Westside Summer County. Yes! So this is what I'm going to do for you. Come on, Debo! It's going to kill my soul to root for the beat. No, it's not. You from Akron. Hey, I'm going to tell you right now, listen, listen, listen.

8:34James Harrison:This is what you're going to have to do. You're going to have to remind me now. You're going to have to remind me. All right? I'm starting a new thing. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Because you don't even do basketball. Hey, listen. Listen. I do a little bit of basketball. I do a little bit of basketball. But it's a new thing. It's a new thing rooting for Cleveland now. Okay? So what I'm going to do is I'm going to try and root for them. Okay? I'm going to try my best. Yes. I'm going to try and stay on the straight. But, you know, it's new. Okay. It's like starting your walk with the Lord. Yeah.

9:07James Harrison:But this is a lot worse because I got some hate for them. I love the Lord. Just dislike. I ain't going to say hate. Hate is strong word. I got some dislike. Just rock with me. I'm going to roll with you. I'm going to roll with you. But I'm going to tell you right now, man, listen. Listen. Listen. You're going to have to. Hey, remember, you rolling with us now. You're going to have to remind me because I'm not going to crash out. Okay. Yeah, that's the thing. I'm going to keep you real balanced. You know what I'm saying? I'm going to let you know what's going on. I'm going to give honest takes because game six was crazy.

9:38James Harrison:We got bullied out there in Little Caesars Arena. Detroit came out there and balled. Cade Cunningham, all of his other talent too. My man, what's my man's name? Avery. Listen, I'm going to tell you right now, man. They was dapping up each other with their elbows, and they was eating that Little Caesars piece. They tried to get physical. Four quarter, they was doing that to y 'all. Game seven, we won by 31. Donovan Mitchell came out there dishing the ball to everybody the way he needed to. Jared Allen, Mobley, James Harden, Struis. How long was they in the bonus? How long was they in the bonus?

10:15James Harrison:What you mean? The whole damn game. Hope. Debo, listen. Don't worry about the other stuff. Y 'all flop it, man. We was not flopping. We was out there being more physical. We defense the ass up. Rebounds, turnovers. Jared Allen was hooping. Mobley hooping when our big man up balling. And Donovan Mitchell was getting them involved early. He had more assists than he knew. He averaged three assists a game. He had three assists out of the first couple sessions. Y 'all was flopping more than Valley DeVos did when he brought that in, man. Stop it. I don't want to hear that. So long story short, we up against the Knicks now, Debo.

10:49James Harrison:And that's a whole other – that's a whole other – Can you just please acknowledge the fact that there was some flopping going? Yeah. Okay, thank you. All right. Thank you. That's all I need. That's the NBA that we're looking at now. That's all I need. Everybody's doing – everybody's pushing off to get open. Everybody's just doing this joint like it's nothing. They're stiff-arming on offense. It's an offensive game. There's so many offensive fouls every time. They're pushing off every play. So we're doing the same thing. That's why I'm loving Donovan Mitchell. He be doing this push-off. James Harden does his push-offs.

11:22James Harrison:I just don't like – Y 'all the only ones pushing off. No, no. Cade Cunningham does the joint too. You got an offensive foul on him one time, but Cate Cunningham does it, and I'm not trying to knock it. Shea Gilder, Alexander, Jalen Brunson, the ball is everybody they're using to push off of the left arm. For sure, I'm not mad at it. What I don't like is James Harden. When you shoot your left-hand tray ball, don't kick your feet out. Don't kick your feet out and just flop it. Before I start going Cleveland, let me tell you this, though. What's up? and you got to meet SGA. It's going to be smoking the city.

11:57James Harrison:It's going to be smoking the city. I completely understand that. I'm just saying we're going to get, we have to beat, we got to beat these Knicks. The Knicks are nice. Brunson's nice. I don't know if I could do this. I swear, I don't know if I could do this. There's something in me. I don't know what it is. This is what I'm telling you. Just get ready to watch this. There's four teams left. We got the Spurs playing OKC. It's heavy on my heart. The Spurs were beating them during the regular season, so it's going to be a battle over there. Whoever makes it from the West, they're favored to win it regardless.

12:24James Harrison:Us versus the Knicks. You are us, Debo. You are us. You are the Cleveland. You are with me. Me, Donovan Mitchell. All right. All right. Choose Moley Allen. Okay? I'm going to, hey, let's go Cavs. Let's go Cavs. Let's go. hoop team basketball basketball let's do it I ain't gonna say nothing about what happened when they showed the whole script and all that because they got mad at me because I told the script and then they changed it up and then they showed the world and that's why listen I'm gonna tell you listen listen I'm just saying man that's why they got blew out so bad they was like oh now y 'all changed the script on us they was just you know they was they was like deflated bro they was like now we gotta lose they was trying to pull they was supposed to keep it close but they didn't it was like 31 now so I'm just I'm just saying, bro.

16:40James Harrison:Because they gave us, they beat us by 21 and 6. I'm just saying. I'm just saying, bro. We had to come and put belt to us. Bro, I'm just saying. It's so cold in a D. It's all good. I'm just telling you, man. Sometimes that's how it's happened, man. Because I ain't going to lie to you, man. Like, you know. I had to follow the script one time, man. The Super Bowl loss, you know. I ain't going to, you know. Z-Bo, you're lying. I'm just saying, bro. You're lying. You lying. They ain't telling you what to do out there. You trying to win. Don't see you. Steve-O, that's what I'm telling you. You get the line sometimes, and that's what your credibility gets to get in favor, because that's not you.

17:13James Harrison:You get the line. You be telling the truth, and you be dabbling in the lies. Hey, listen, man. Anybody think this shit is scripting you out of your rabid-ass mind? You gotta be. Come on, man. Nobody. You're not telling me that I'm trying to get a pick. Would the script tell me, can I get a pick every play? If I'm getting beat on any play, I'm not going with the script. I am not going with that. No. I'm crazy. No. He going to have to show me. I'm crazy. No. Joe, now we can finally stop talking about all the people talking about Aaron Rodgers. What he go do? What he ain't go do? Da, da, da, da. He's here.

17:52James Harrison:Aaron Rodgers. He's here. Signed a one-year deal, or will sign a one-year deal with the Stellars. They say the deal is worth up to$25 million, including a base salary between$22 and$23 million with a few million in incentives. The Steelers' voluntary offseason practices begin today. Aaron Rodgers is expected to be there. Actually, did it start already? It should have started already. Did he come? We're going to find out. Yes. Rodgers didn't commit to the Steelers, I guess, until last year. Well, we knew after the mandatory Mary Camp in June. This year, he will be there early. Joe. Yes. Come on, bro.

18:36James Harrison:Come on, D-Bo. How you feeling what you're thinking? How you feeling what you're thinking? Joe, Joe, when we first started, man, we told them boys, we said, Aaron Rodgers is not coming back for the same price that he played for yesterday. Okay? He outplayed that contract. And without him, I 100 % believe we don't get a 500 record. so yeah man rightfully wants to be paid the value that reflects that now

19:08um or i was a thought process that like yo when he went on the pat mcaffee show he's telling like

19:14James Harrison:yo they gave me nothing to look at they ain't showed me nothing so i have nothing to make a decision on on you know what i'm going to do as far as my decision to be on the stiller or blah blah blah blah so the stillers went and said hey man we go put this special uh this special tender on you and uh you can get 15 million and i said then aaron rogers is not coming back for 15 million and i believe 100 that before he came back with 15 million he would retire before he did that but what that deal did was it made aaron have to come to the table and they had to start talking okay they had discussions because now the stillers gave him a number he's like yo i ain't really you know the number that i'm looking for or the number that i'm able to come back for okay they sit down they talk what's your bottom line still to say all right what's your top line you know and then some way they come together and they came to what the number was that they've agreed upon.

20:17James Harrison:He gets what he wants and we get what we want. Yes. But with Aaron back, it's a little added bonus. Now, the young one, Drew Allen, who didn't get any time with A, he gets time with A-Rod now. He gets to be under the veteran leadership, the experience, you know, of a future Hall of Famer. Along with that, it's a plus and a negative, but Will Howard, he gets another year, but it's going to slow down his own field game time and experience and all that. But the knowledge and information that he's going to get or acquire, like having him for another year, I feel like that's priceless. Yeah. Sure, you don't have to rush it.

21:07James Harrison:You don't have to rush it. Right, right. Now, Aaron Rodgers obviously gives us the best opportunity to get the most out of our team. Yes. And potentially catch lightning in the bottom. Potentially catch lightning in the bottom. I agree. Okay. Which will give guys like Cam, Cam Hayward, Chris Boswell, TJ Watt, Jalen Ramsey, an opportunity to get a championship. I know they want it. That's the only accolade that some of them are missing in their careers. so as for me I love it yeah like I've been telling y 'all listen I wasn't worried about what was going to happen on the offensive side because we were going to be able to be protective and run the ball well so we'll be able to protect the ball don't turn the ball over and run the ball so now we got A-Rod for sure for sure for sure He did last year.

22:22James Harrison:Uh-huh. Okay. At 42, 43, whatever it is. 42, turning 43. At 42, turning 43. Listen, if Aaron Rodgers is able to get out there, brother, and catch that lightning in the bottom. Uh-huh. And win a Super Bowl championship. And what is more likely than not his last year in the NFL, Bro, that's a storybook. That's what he's looking for, bro. He's looking for the storybook, man. But... Hey, Joe, I will say this, though. Yes. If it happens and Aaron does win another championship, I think it's going to be difficult, if not damn near impossible, for him to retire. Especially if they win it in the fashion in which I believe the record should be.

23:18because now in your head, you have to be thinking,

23:24James Harrison:it's an opportunity to repeat. Okay. You know? Okay, Debo, okay, I hear him repeating. I'm hearing everything. Okay, I'm trying to go with this year first. You going to the future winning the Super Bowl, we're going best case scenario. We were all talking the same talk. Right now, I'm super happy that finally Aaron Rodgers is, there's no gray. The Steelers the whole time knew they were talking with Aaron Rodgers, they were in communications, they had the plan going on. So in my standpoint, as far as like doing it with the media, answering all these questions, just trying to bring stuff up, but they, the Steelers were never wavering in what they felt.

24:07James Harrison:They were always expecting him and hoping him to sign early, but they were always in communication, always never wavered, bringing in talent, doing everything they had to do. So now just for me, in an organizational standpoint, kudos to the Steelers. He signed earlier than he did last year. We're asking all of these questions about, what was it, A-Rod? I'm like, he didn't come, none of the OTAs, none of these camps. He was right before training camp in June. So now for them to, it was just a lot going on. So for him to sign before OTAs, optional OTAs, this is before he did last year. This is a whole earlier situation.

24:38James Harrison:So now it's a better situation than it was last season. All of that quarterback controversy talk, the Steelers were in their same position. When you talk about the money, and I wasn't really thinking about it as much at the time, but A-Rod, when they sent them out to 15 and then him to get the 22 with option up to 25, that makes him the 17th highest paid quarterback in the NFL. And when you look at it, I'm like, perfect, that's fine. Everybody else under Aaron Rodgers is on their rookie contracts. You know what I'm saying? Besides Malik Willis is the only one. He's making$22 million a year. A-Rod signed basically the same thing with incentives to go up to 25.

28:54James Harrison:on the rookie deal, all those other guys, smooth. They're making 33. He's making 22 with an option of 25. Boom. Now we have Aaron Rodgers on this team. And when you're saying best case scenarios, they were building this team to be successful without Aaron Rodgers. We have him here now on the team, knowing that we're going to have him with Michael Pittman Jr., with DK Metcalf, with Firemuth, well, with Mount Washington. You know what I'm saying? With Jalen Warren at the running back, with Rico Dottle, with the linemen now that we have, with the new parts that we have on defense. We're making sure the special teams is going to be what the special teams is going to be.

29:30James Harrison:The vision for the Steelers now is, you know, obviously with the talent we had last year, we're running it back with new talent, with new pieces, with Aaron Rodgers, knowing that our offense is going to be some of these plays where we can go down the field a little more. If our running game is legit, now these individual matchups, he's going to be able to throw those one-on-ones. DK, your year wasn't as good as you want it to be. you're ready to perform too. I understand you know you got some things to prove. So the names that we have on the team and the talent that we have are more and willing and capable to go and perform and do some special things.

30:04James Harrison:So now it's like, all right, we got A-Rod. On your last, I'm thinking for me, if you're saying if we win the Super Bowl, we'll see what happens next year. This is more for me. Final hurrah, A-Rod. You're going on. You're going to be 43 this year. If you do come back, I mean, we do have younger quarterbacks. We have pieces. We have a team that's building. So eventually, organizational-wise, you will want to have one of these younger dudes come up because he's not going to be able to play for but so long. You say one more year after this, but it's like, then when is Drew? That's going to be his second year following.

30:35James Harrison:It's going to be Will Allen's third year sitting behind him. So it's like, when are we ever going to be able to? We got to see these dudes to know what they can do. At the same time, building the team, doing a great job. So I'm with this team now, with Aaron Rodgers signing it, if I'm Cam Hayward, If I'm Jalen Ramsey, you know what I'm saying? If I'm the older vets. Dude, yes. Guys that are in those last years, dude, got to win now. We're in the last years of our deal. We're trying to win. Organizational-wise, that's what you want to have for your vets. We're trying to win. Steelers are never really a down year or a low year.

31:10James Harrison:You're always still rebuilding. If we lose at Aaron Rodgers and then we can end up with T.J. Watt, we can be able to move some parts. But like we're always having we don't really have to rebuild when you have a team. We are always trying to get those players around. So I'm finally I'm super excited for the Steelers because now it's no it's no gray. It's no low. We're going to we're going to have this team. Players are going to have the ball, the new coaches, the system, the defense. Everybody's going to have to gel. Now that that that one question was, is it going to be Will? Is it going to be out?

31:40James Harrison:Like, do we like him? Coach McCarthy likes both of them. Now we're figuring out who's going to be who's going to be missing out of that room. Now we got four quarterbacks, you know what I'm saying? So there's different things there. But the biggest point that we got is Aaron Rodgers is signed now officially. There's no, are they waiting on him? When is he coming? He didn't sign last year until training camp. We got him now early. So good for the Steelers. Oh, yeah. No question, Brian. Speaking of that, the quarterback controversy, with Aaron Rodgers back, one of the other three quarterbacks will be the odd man out, brother.

32:18James Harrison:So I guess according to, what's his name? Mike Florio, he believes that the odd man out will be Will Howard. And his reasoning is the Steelers supposedly have strong beliefs and the quarterbacks that they had, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard. But he said they then go and draft a quarterback in the third round, Drew Aller. And his belief is that Drew Aller, since he was drafted, that he will be there. And Mason Rudolph, since he's a veteran that you need to have as a backup if he already gets hurt, that's why it'll be Aller. and, or why he believes it'll be Allard and Rudolph. Joe, what do you think?

33:17James Harrison:Who do you think it will be between Howard and Rudolph? I think that it will be Will Howard. Yeah. I like Mason, but, you know, he's had his stints with the Steelers. He got drafted there third round. He had his chances to see, you know what I'm saying, maximize what he would be able to do while he was out there. I know that we're building a team. It's about the parts around them. But I would see last year when he came out there, too. Bro, he immediately came out there and gave it back. Gave it back. I don't like to talk crazy about him. So I think he may – I'm not saying he could be out of the league.

33:55James Harrison:How am I talking crazy? I'm stating facts. No, no, no. That's not talking crazy. No, no, no. You're not. You're not. You're not. You're not. You're not. You're not. So we're saying the same thing. I think that he is not going to be a suitable starting quarterback if you're trying to win a championship. He could be a backup somewhere in the league for sure. But with the Steelers now, let's see Drew. You drafted him. You gave Mason start. See opportunities to get out there and show what he could do. I understand the backup thing. I'm going with Will. Yeah. I'm going with the younger guys that you drafted to at least see what you got because I feel like you know what you got.

34:32James Harrison:Yeah. I'm with you in this. I think Mike Dunn, I think he might have sniffed some glue or put too much emphasis in the, you know, Mike Florio put too much emphasis in the veteran quarterback status. Like this dude, he got what, eight years? He got eight years. He got 18 stars. He's 99. A 63-7 career, you know, completion percentage. I mean, that's not hard to replace. That's average. 28 touchdowns, 20 interceptions. That's not hard to replace. Yeah. Like, and then, like you said, last time he got in the game, first thing he did was turn the rock over, bro. Yeah. Like, we're talking about a passer rating.

35:18James Harrison:What is it, like an 84, 85, something like that? Like, that's all average numbers. Like, and he has been in the league for eight years as a career backup. He has not went any further. You're telling me that you're going to keep him opposed to two guys that you don't know what they can do. And you've seen this is his top. He's not going to get any better. Yep. And then from what he did like last year, hell, he ain't really. What was he in Tennessee? I think he woke nine interceptions, nine touchdowns. Like, we're not getting anything from him. He's not going to be enough, especially once Aaron is gone.

36:02James Harrison:Like, you keeping him, you're getting rid of one of the other guys saying, oh, I don't need to see any kind of development from him. You ain't seen nothing from Will. You ain't seen nothing from Drew, and you're going to top him off for a dude that's been there eight years, and this is what he's given you? Mike Florio is tripping, tripping. Yeah. I'm with you on that. He tripping, tripping, bro. You got to get them dudes a chunk. you gotta get a younger guy as a chance yeah see what you got that veteran stuff don't matter no if your quarterback is not playing like a veteran uh-uh they had that time eight years is a eight years is a good amount a long time bro and his college numbers was crazy like his college numbers was crazy crazy uh-huh and this is what like yo he can't even just go and just manage this thing bro he gonna turn it over

36:56James Harrison:protect the rock bro that's it i'm with it d bro i'm with you i'm because that we we said what we said i i'm i yes i'm with you i kick it with me so i'm like when we saying it it's just not his time for the stealers anymore it's when you're talking about the quarterback position you're going to be out there you see we've we've had film we've had legitimate film that's what i was looking forward to seeing on drew to see what it looks like out there. You got to give them a chance to give them some play time. And then when you get out there and you see where to look, believe it. Or like maybe it's not the right time there.

37:34James Harrison:So this seven-year stint in one organization for sure is a good enough time to see if you've done it. For sure. For sure. Look here, man. Coach Fry, man, Deion Sanders, he warns the rest of the league that the Browns are coming. The Browns are coming. The Browns are coming. What are they? He said, look at the rookie class last season the rookie class this season who i know they have played who i know they have played they haven't i haven't played they haven't played put on put on the grass but they're building something that is tremendous and they're not too far away of course they need to stable they need stability at the quarterback position of course they need stability on the offensive line, everything else to me, they've got it.

38:27James Harrison:They got it. Support for the show comes from Public, the investing platform for those who take it seriously. 41:32James Harrison:They got it. I know what you're going to say. You're in a stability at the quarterback position in the offensive line. That's true statement. Everything else, I would say that they got something to it, but I don't know. He also went off on the Miles Garrett trade talks. He said they got a killer on defense. I'm tired of y 'all talking about trading him and getting rid of him. That don't make no sense to me. That's a once-in-a-lifetime, man. That's a once-in-a-lifetime, man, that you don't see no more. I don't get rid of that. I don't get rid of that unless I get your mama, daddy, your uncle, cousin, and everybody in the trade for it because that's a grown man.

42:23James Harrison:That's a winner. That's a winner. Joe, the Browns are coming, Joe. What are the Browns coming to? What are they coming to, Joe? Pride said they coming. You think they coming? I do. Where are they coming to? I do. I think this is the thing. Browns, like I always said, defense is not, we've always been able to have good defenses. Our defense is always ranked within the top 10. Always. So the problem is when we say quarterback stability, all these teams have been good. You got to have a quarterback. We've had so many quarterbacks through the trajectory of the Browns. When we did end up having Baker Mayfield for that short time, he was solid.

43:06James Harrison:We were getting players around him. Andrew Berry and them were bringing in talent. They brought in Jarvis Landry. They were bringing in Odell Beckham Jr. on the offensive side of the ball to help us actually score points, get points on the board. When we get points on the board, the defense is always, it's never, if you lose, because if you give up one play, the game is over. No, you got to be able to have an offense that you go to and they're looking like, well, I was playing for the Steelers and I left the Browns. Antonio Brown and Ben Roethlisberger, when they came off a drive, they expected to score every single drive.

43:38James Harrison:Like when they came off, they were upset that they didn't score. On defense, you wanted to do three and out every time to get the ball back to the offense. When you're on defense and you continue to get three and outs and you continue to get good field position and give them the ball back and you get nothing, that's demoralizing because it makes it feel like defense, you got to continue the ball out and your offense is just like not in factor. If you have an offense that they want to look at the same way that you're looking at it, when they come off the field, actually disappointed that he didn't put points on the board and they're trying to figure it out there's nothing the defense got to go say you want to get them the ball back immediately so they can go score points so that just situation is a completely different situation so i'm saying the browns are never far away because your defense is getting the ball back they're creating turnovers they're making things happen special teams wasn't that good last year when you got good defense and good special teams you're playing a field position game you want your offense to be competent be able to get out there, get a field goal.

44:35James Harrison:Don't turn it over. Don't go backwards. Don't look crazy. You know what I'm saying? So when you have an offense that's really potent, they're trying to go score every time. That's something that when I went to the Pittsburgh Steelers, I was like, wow, this is crazy. Because if you give up a touchdown, you don't feel like you lost the game. It's like, all right, guys, come on. Boom, we about to go score and now y 'all go get the ball back and then we can go run this thing up. You know what I'm saying? Like, no, like they got your back. They pat you on the back. When you like, oh, okay, all right, bet.

45:02James Harrison:That's my bet. you feel like you lost the game because you don't feel like you should ever get scored on on defense. On offense, you should feel like they should never stop you. That's just your mindset. So when I was with the Browns, that was never the—I would hope that's their mindset, but I'm looking like, y 'all aren't scoring. They know they're not scoring. And the defense, we're trying to continue to—we got to score, put them in position to score, make something happen. We're trying to punch stuff out. We're out there trying to ball. So when I hear Coach Prime, it's a team where if you got an offense now, you got Shador, and not just saying he was a quarterback, that is running a competent offense that's trying to go get points.

45:35James Harrison:He wants to score every single drive. Knowing it's not possible, that's when you got to wheel it in. Sometimes check downs are good. Let's get a field goal. That's great. You go down and don't turn the ball over. Get a good field position. We pin them down. Now, defense is out there. You playing from the two. You playing inside the five. We got our ears pinned back. We're trying to get safeties. You know what I'm saying? It's like a team game that happens there. So when I'm hearing Coach Prime, it's like they're building something. Yes, if you can get a competent offense with a legit quarterback that's trying to go score every drive, now we're speaking a different language because the defense is not changing.

46:09James Harrison:Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, they're always out there hunting. They're always hunting. But if they had a quarterback that was out there on the offensive side hunting the same way they hunting, now you're going in there with a team. You feel like I'm walking in here with a fully loaded clip. Like, defense, we good. Offense, y 'all good. Y 'all can go score 30. You know what I'm saying? And really believe it. And they think, we about to go take them up top. We about to go run this ball down their throat. You know what I'm saying? And genuinely believe it and go do it. So when I'm saying you go get an offensive line, you build that grit, you build that team, like, that's what it is.

46:43James Harrison:So they're not far. We're not getting blown out. But it's like, dude, get an offense. Have a special teams. Defense, keep balling. Keep doing what you're doing. Don't get rid of Miles Garrett because he's the reason why our defense is what our defense is. Like, you want to go get other pieces. You've been doing it with the draft. You've been hitting with these pieces that we do need. So if we were to get rid of Miles, we need a dog tackle and a dog wide receiver. You know, that's what he's saying. Get the wife, get the kids. You're going to need two dudes who are going to instantly make our offense just as good as our defense is.

47:11James Harrison:So I'm not against what Prime is saying. You sound like I'm a Browns fan, obviously, because when the draft, they're drafting the wrong people. I'm like this. No, we should have drafted the receivers and we need alignment. And we drafted, we would have drafted some defensive players. That's not what we need. Now our defense is looking great, and we're still not competent on offense. So trying to build a nice offense, I'm like, okay, you're making the right moves. We're getting the right pieces. I like Shador. Shador, don't go out here and mess it up. Give me an offense that's a good 24 points.

47:40James Harrison:Defense ain't going to give up that many so we can win more games than we lose. I'm listening to what he's saying. He doesn't sound crazy when you look at it like that. I'm not, yeah, I'm not happy. They're the Cleveland Browns. That's what you mean, y 'all, in the right direction. When they label it as warn and then you actually read it, it's not really a warning. You know what I'm saying? It's more of a he sees the transition of where it's heading. So, you know, the clickbait type, well, he warning y 'all, I'm doing Cleveland coming. No, that's not. But you see what I'm saying. I see what you're saying, true statement.

48:18James Harrison:But don't forget, y 'all special teams were selling too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, I mean, that's one of the things we left out. Your special teams can lose you a whole game on five plays. You got to make us a good, yes, yes, yes. Missed a couple field goals. And then off the end. Returns. A couple returns. A couple returns. All that. Need something, yes. Yeah, yeah. Go ahead, write all that down. One more talent. One more talent. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, I got you. Now you go ahead and. But I'm going right. I'm going to go ahead and write what Brian was saying. Like, and the trading of miles, like, hey.

48:53James Harrison:That might be the best thing for them. You know? Long term, that might be the best thing for them. Not right now. For me, I just don't like having to play against them twice a year. It's a personal thing. You're trying to weaken my squad. Always. That's what that is. Always. Do you think I care about how weak the league is? If I won a championship every year, I would give zero fucks. I would not care. Zero. I would give zero. Of course, I would want to play against the best and have your best talent. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to give you a ride to the stadium if I see your car broke down.

49:34James Harrison:I want your best. I want your best. Yeah, you want us to be in there. For sure. But I ain't on the field no more. So I'm trying to get it with less of a heart attack and a headache. Yeah, so right now you want the easiest path. I want the easiest path possible, okay? Okay, okay. All right? I can't. Listen, man, I done got back into this thing, man. I'm up here, you know, I was trying to stay away from it for a long time, like trying to stay away, but I'm back into it now. And it's giving me the same thing I did when I'm playing, but I ain't even getting a check on Monday to make me feel better when we lose.

50:09James Harrison:Nope. You know what I'm saying? Nope. I just. Just as I said. You getting turned up too, Debo. I already feel it. I told you, man, we can't. You said 13. Bro, we can't do no live, man. We do a live. We do a live show, man. Like, I did a live with Ben, but I kept it low. Kept it chill. During the game. Like, yeah, I keep it. Yeah, I was in it, you know. I kind of, you got to really bring it in. You got to keep it inside, like, because you feel you want to say it, and you can't. You know what I'm saying? You know how, you know what I was saying when we was. Yeah, you quick. You quick to react. I'm quick.

50:49James Harrison:Quick to react. We're passing in the. And I would say something reckless as hell, too. I'm going to go back to it.
