In short
The episode discusses two NFL-related storylines. Topic 1: Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby’s plan to enter the NFL supplemental draft after “mutually parting ways” with the school. Hosts debate whether Sorsby’s reported gambling accusations (including claims of thousands of bets) should disqualify him, and what the NFL should do. They compare to past cases: Terrell Pryor (tattoo-related ineligibility), Chris Carter (agent signing), and Calvin Ridley (betting while injured/inactive; later reinstated). Key claims include that gambling violations should require a real “timeout” (possibly a year) and that teams would face a high-risk “silent auction” cost if drafting him.
Topic 2
Drew Allar being mentored by Aaron Rodgers.
Guest background
Allar is a young quarterback (Penn State) now in the NFL.
Notable examples
Rodgers pulls Allar aside during practice for drill focus and asks questions in film room; hosts frame it as veteran mentorship, not favoritism.

4:40James Harrison:What's up? Or what's going to happen if they don't do that? You going to whoop their butt, Debo? You supposed to say, you know what you say, or Debo going to whoop your ass. Okay. How you doing today, Joe? That's what I was waiting on to how you doing today, Joe. Man, you know me. How you doing today, Joe? I'm doing good, coach. I'm always doing good. vibed up. I got my Steelers on today. I got my Rob Woodson feeling Hall of Famish. So I had to throw in the Michelin ass. I'm going to tell you right now, dude. I really feel like my hat game Your hat game's strong. Hey, I'm just telling you, everything Steelers, though.
5:22Everything Steelers. I don't flip-flop. You come with different Steelers gear every day. Let's get this retainer out. Alright. There we go. That's better. I don't flip flop, you know. You know what I'm saying? I don't go from here to there. You know, even though I played, I played for three different teams. Yes. Okay. I played for the Ravens. I played for Cincinnati. And I played for New England. But I don't flip flop.
5:46James Harrison:I don't do that. See, you know what? You can't. Three different hearts is more. I just got two. Then I'm like, I got so much love for the Steelers and, you know, and the Browns. Like, I just, it's just, I'm pulled between the two. You can't. It's two different ties. You can't have three. Listen, the only one I didn't play for was the Browns. You can't have your heartstrings pulled all over the place. You know what I'm saying? You wouldn't understand. The only team I didn't play for was the Browns in the AFC. That's it. That's it, Joe. Yep. That's it. And North, that's it. I would have welcomed you with open arms, Z-Bo.
6:19James Harrison:For sure. Listen, I don't know. You became and did work. I don't know. Y 'all had a chance, but y 'all ain't holler at your boy. Look here, man. your boy brandon sorby and texas tech have mutually parted ways you saying you have mutually parted ways nope i think you decided to stop fighting them people because you realized that you were not going to win in the long haul and your only shot was to go ahead and try and enter the supplemental draft over here that they got going on and with deadlines coming and all that Plus, everybody at Texas Tech was like, yo, get this dude out of here. We're not going to be able to play as a whole athletic competition school, period.
7:01One man is not bigger than the program. You ain't bigger than this, bro. One man is not bigger. Get your punk ass up out of here. Get into the supplemental draft. What is it? June 22nd or whatever it is. And then you go have your shot. So he will not be playing college football in 2026. He is applying to enter the NFL supplemental draft. Tom, what's that name? Man. Something, whatever the hell his name is. He, after legal wrangling about the NCAA eligibility, Soresby regarded as a, he thinks, a first-round talent. I don't know about the talent. It's a lot of stuff to go with that. Anyway, now could be the highest-drafted supplemental pick in decades.
7:43Okay, Joe, Tom Pellicero is the one that said this stuff right now. What?
7:51James Harrison:What you think, bro? Like, okay. First and foremost, let's get on him mutually part in ways. It was, he knew that it was time that he had to get out of there. Trying to fight to play once you've already been accused of gambling, all these damn games, sit your ass out. Like, take your ball and go home. Get out the way real quick. It's not about you. Like, you know what I'm saying? So I'm respecting, I'm loving the fact he had to get out the way because you're not bigger than the program. So Texas. Stop loving shit, Joe. Look, he has to get out the way. I love that he got out the way. If you don't try to challenge it.
8:22He only got out the way because they forced him out the way. He didn't get out the way because he wanted to. He tried to stay in the way and say, poor me. I know. I know. Look what happened to me because I had an addiction and it's not my fault.
8:34James Harrison:I was trying to get to another point to where for sure, I understand this, why he had to get out because it's bigger than the program. Now it's to the supplemental draft. Now we're moving forward to now what are we thinking about the supplemental draft all of this is where it baffles me all of the sudden was he projected to be a first round pick earlier like i know that he was i joke i have no stuff was cool he came out but i guess by some people were saying it i mean tom pelichelle he's not listen last year he he played 12 games he was a 61 61 percent uh completion percentage 2800 yards 27 touchdowns five interceptions that's not terrible that's not great i'm just trying to figure out where all of a sudden now this first round pick stuff comes out and then when we're saying in the supplemental draft i'm understanding the teams are going to have to evaluate this is a quarterback the other people that have been taken in the supplemental draft was like josh gordon you know what i'm saying and that was because he was smoking he got kicked out because he was smoking weed came into the league into the program you know i'm saying you got um chris carter he signed an agent you know i'm saying when he was at ohio state and then he made him uneligible terrell prior was getting tattoos so that made him uneligible at ohio state just the craziness of you got to see the reason why these dudes weren't were in the supplemental draft why they weren't able to get in terrell prior i'm looking at like it was back in the like that was for tattoos the scandals and like the punishment Terrell probably should have went to the...
10:08James Harrison:What the hell with a scandal, dude? This man was using his own name to be able to be a tattoo. That's what I'm saying, Devo. It's all the way back in the day to when you couldn't go get a free tattoo or you were going to get suspended. Chris Carter went and signed an agent because he knew he was going to be able to go to the league. You can't go get representation. You're not allowed to play in college football anymore. So that's the back-in-the-day stuff. With this one, you got a quarterback that said he was gambling on games. Now the NFL, admitted to gambling on game for sure. 40 bets on his own team, 90-some bets total, something crazy.
10:48James Harrison:9 ,000 bets total. Over 9 ,000, they said. 9 ,000 bets total. So now you have to start looking to the aspect of when a team is talking about drafting a player, now you go do all your research. You're doing all your stuff. Was this a one-time thing? Is this just a slap on the hand? Is this something that he's always doing? Now the teams are looking at the NFL. Are you going to allow him? First, they have to figure out if they're going to allow him to enter the supplemental draft. Because gambling is such a thing. What's up? Roger Goodell, what are you going to do? Are you going to let this degenerate gambler into the NFL?
11:26James Harrison:So if they allow him to get into the supplemental draft. Hell, if you want to call it help. I don't know. I don't call it help. I call it you ignoring and think you're going to be above it because as soon as you got strained up, you said, oh, let me go the legal route and see if they can do this for me because I don't care what the rules say. I should be able to play. It's going to hurt me if I can't play. Fuck you. Yes. If the NCAA, so this is the thing. So if the NFL now you have a player, right? He's out of the NCAA. You have a player that you've seen now. He was betting on these games. This is what it is.
11:59James Harrison:He's been accused of this stuff. Now the NFL, when they talk about all this, I do my due diligence. I do my research on these people. I make sure, you know what I'm saying? I check on their parents. I talk to their high school teachers. When Shador Sanders, I'm going to hate to bring it in. When Shador Sanders came into the league in his draft, his senior season, he threw for 4 ,134 yards with 36 touchdowns. Nothing of him doing any gambling. He had bad interviews, and it dropped him to the fifth round. And all of a sudden, nothing on the football field changed, but all of a sudden he is a fifth round pick.
12:35James Harrison:Now I'm just putting in the perspective. Now you have a quarterback that's going to be the leader of your franchise that's been accused and said that I've done 40 ,000, 40 ,000 bets. And now like, I know you're coming to the team. Now we're saying, oh, no, he's supposed to be a first round pick. He's saying like, oh, no, like sometimes the NFL, I'm like this. Okay, look, I understand this. So if Roger Goodell, the supplemental draft is for the players that got kicked out. The eligibility is done. So we're going to see. So now we're going to put it in the lead. If you let him get into the supplemental draft, now the responsibility is in the hands of the NFL teams.
13:13James Harrison:100%. Are you going to draft him? What are you going to give up for him? Are you going to give up? It's a silent auction. Now there's people putting up a second round pick for the next round draft. So a first round pick. What are you going to put up for this guy? You know what I'm saying? This on these teams. I understand all that. Is he going to be suspended for the next year? You know what I'm saying? So knowing. What happened to Terrell Pryor when he went through? His little tattoo thing. That man got three games when he came in. On tattoo, his rookie year, he got three games. That is crazy.
13:44Because that tattoo we're talking about now, obviously, name, image, and likeness.
13:48James Harrison:We know how the plans were getting used. You couldn't go get a free tattoo. He's not going and paying nothing. Nobody's giving. It's like, no, just get a tattoo for free. No, you didn't go pay for that? Oh, you're suspended. That's crazy. Dude, we're talking about gambling on the game that you play in, that you're going to be playing in, that you want to play in, and you're holding the position that can affect the game the most? Huh? Yes. So then what is Roger Goodell going to do about this? But this is the part two. So the NFL, then I looked at Calvin Ridley did get accused for betting on games when he was going through his mental health time.
14:28James Harrison:So he got accused for betting on about five games. He bet on the Atlanta Falcons while he was chilling. He got caught. You know what I'm saying? He got suspended for a season. They traded him. You know what I'm saying? And now he's able to get back into the league. So I think it was, he probably missed damn near two years in total, but he got reinstated by the NFL. So he bet. That's what I'm saying. You have to do your time. So that's what I'm saying. I'm not, when we hear. Let me ask you this, Joe. Hold up. Did he bet on the games that he was playing in while he was playing in? No, no, no. He did not bet on the game that he played in.
15:01James Harrison:So was he betting on games while he was on a team? He was on the Falcons, but he wasn't on the field. Like, he was, like, injured, so he couldn't play in the game. So he was betting on his team. Like, you watch it. Like, you're hurt. You're, like, inactive. Still bad. Still bad. What did they get? But you bet on your team, you know what I'm saying, to win the game. And it was five bets. What did they get? So they got caught. You know what I'm saying? Big slap on the head. I was trying to look back and see. What did they get? He got suspended for it. He was out for a year. You know what I'm saying?
15:30James Harrison:And then the NFL reinstated him. I think he got. So he was out of the league. Five games? Total for probably two years until he was able to get back in. So. Okay. So five games. Five games. He bet on that man got two years. Basically. I mean, I think the league said it was a year since. Basically. 19:10So a year suspension on five games. He admitted to 40. I'm saying. He's eight years. If you're saying that his five was a year, his 40 got to be eight. I don't even know how you let him in, to be honest with you. like
19:33James Harrison:if it's me for sure D-Bow I'm with you a thousand percent because that's where the slope gets to it's 40 games like cut him like the NFL I don't see them being able to even allow him to go to the supplemental but if they do allow him to go to the supplemental the team that drafts him it's like what are you going to give up for him you acting like you do so much research the NFL is so high and mighty on American history I tell you what. We see something that happened. So I'm not like opportunities like you want second chances. Okay, I get second chances, but like, wow. How long is he going to have to sit down?
20:13James Harrison:He's going to take a seat for a minute and show me consistent time of not gambling at all. Cool. Sit your ass out for a year. For sure. Next year, you can come. There's a time that you just can't be like, no, I'm healed. And then like, no, no, no. You got to like, there's process. There's work. Show me a year of you being healed, being able to show that you can continue to progress and not backslide and place no bets on nothing. But you're going to do that year outside of the NFL. You say you've got a problem. You need help. You need to go. Here's your time to get that problem solved. And then next year you can come back and see if you can get yourself in there after you done proved that you had a year of being able to do what it is that you said you were doing and get the help that you needed.
20:58and now we can see that you're able to do it. You can't play in college. You can't play in the NFL. You need time to sit out.
21:05James Harrison:For sure. And that's what I'm saying. And you know what's so crazy. We're not saying you don't deserve a second chance, but there's a certain thing as timeout. Like, you can't be still involved like nothing happened. You know what I'm saying? You're going to have to take a seat for a second. Nobody's saying we're taking your ball forever, but you got to take a quick timeout real quick. If the NFL is going to let you back in, you're going to have to sit there and show that you have actually rehabilitated from your addictions. We're not going to allow you to be able to do it while you're sitting in here with the ability to affect the game, bet on games, do all that other stuff, okay?
21:47And then you're making more and more money. Hell, they didn't even take his money from him. The tech board, Cody Campbell, he said they will not seek the return of any money paid to him through NIL agreements with the university. You got, listen, only thing that's hurting him at this point is his self and his, you're going to be fine. Sit down. You got a problem. You got a real bad problem. Show me you ready to go ahead and do the work. Get the work done. And then after that. Come on back. You know, show me all year being able to do it. Then go ahead and do it. because if I'm Roger Goodell, I'm putting, I don't put my hat on.
22:23If I'm Roger Goodell, listen, I either don't let you in or all, or I say, show me that you done rehabilitated yourself, but you're not getting in this year. We'll come and see what you can do next year. Because if you done gave this man a year for five games, you did 40 times that. That should be eight, right, Joe? I don't know. You know, I'm pretty decent at numbers, but I'm just saying, Like, we protecting the shield or we protecting certain people in certain situations? Yep. Listen here. If I'm Roger Goodell, I got my commissioner hat on, hey, Rog, hey, man, let's protect the shield. You find the shit out of me when you was trying to protect the shield.
23:05Like, and you change rules and all that. I'm talking about in the drop of a hat. I mean, on a plate, just right there. Come on.

23:13James Harrison:I'm not even. So, Debo, I can even go this. I can go this far. I could go as far to if they allowed him into – if they ended up passing him to let him into the supplemental draft. If a team ended up drafting him, he's still suspended for a year. He's on the team. There's no play, but you're on the team. They was able to use whatever they could for you. He's going to get paid for that. Out of the team for a year of just, you know what I'm saying, showing that you're not doing any – like going through your rehab, and then the next year you'll be able to be on that team. That's how we do that. Ain't that what they call failing up?
23:48Ain't that the definition of failing up? You fail and you still get the advance. That's the definition of failing up, ain't it? I'm just saying, Joe. I think I know why you're saying that. I think you know why you're saying that. Because the Browns GM has indicated an openness to adding the controversial quarterback, Soresby. Joe, listen here. Let me – hold up, Joe. Hold up, hold up. Let me just look and see what's going on here, Joe. So your guy, Barry, do we have the Barry or do we have the Monken? Let me know which one we have. We got both of them. Okay. So what I want to do is I actually just want to play the Monken.
24:29I'm going to tell you what Barry said. We're not going to do it just yet. So Barry basically said this right here. He said, number one. So he's like, I really asked two questions. he said number one is this a bad person or did they make a bad decision is it a bad person did they make a bad decision joe they obviously made a bad decision okay and then second piece is okay what are they doing after the fact to correct behavior is this a pattern of decision making and if so have they done something to stop the pattern and is this an isolated incident Ain't shit about this isolated, Joe. Ain't nothing about any of this.
25:08It wasn't a one time thing. Now he goes on to say, because the reality is that we're all going to screw up and some certain and some certain mistakes are greater in magnitude than others. But I think the most important thing is Brennan's case is what he does from here. Obviously, it is a great first step to get the help that you need. But then it's like, what is around him? What is he doing to make sure he can maintain healthy habits from there? Now, that right there really sounds like your boy is open to probably doing something with this guy if he could do whatever he could do. But when you go back and you look at what Monkens said, what Monkens said a few weeks ago?
25:55Not at all. I mean, that's not even come across my desk. I don't think we're in a position to want to go down that road. That's my opinion. That's not Andrews. And I like the quarterbacks that we have. I think that's a slippery slope when you go down that, irrespective of talent, right, in terms of the situation he's put himself in. We all know what that is. He put himself in that situation. And we've seen other sports with players that have been banned from life. But I want you to listen. I'm listening to what Barry said right after this. I think that's a super slope to go down that road. Again, that's a question for Andrew and for management.
26:34Todd said this first. On my end of it. Barry's coming next. Tough angle to go down that road and think that that's going to be your franchise quarterback. If he's ever eligible to even play in the NFL. Yeah, we haven't had a supplemental draft in a while, or I guess a couple years now. No different than we do every year. we'll do the work on all the prospects and then we'll make the appropriate decision for the organization. Joe, Joseph, Joseph, Joseph, are you there? I'm here. Joe, listen, listen, Joe, you know me, you know me. I like to think. And when I, Joe, Joe, when I started thinking, you know, it makes me think like, okay, he responded like this then, but now he's responding like this.
27:22Now we know they're not the same. No, they both got their own minds. All right. They got they got their own minds. OK. Now, when you when you when you look at that, what it puts me in the mind of is that the next thing we're looking at is there's a there's a quarterback competition. Yes. So the the the quarterback competition, Joe, that they they got going on now. It says that Shador looked more opposed in Monken's offense at times and went on. And the coaches talked about how he improved his footwork and the processing. So though Munkin had said he ideally would like to name a starter entering training camp, he's now he's not worried about delaying the decision.
28:13OK, he said. It would feel different if I didn't feel like their progression had gotten to this point, I think, where I think they both can start and play winning football. I'm convinced of it, and I'd say if I didn't. I mean, I can't decide now because I think both have earned the opportunity to continue to compete once we put on the pads.
28:45Like I said, Joe, I'm a thinker. So for me, I'm sitting back now, and I'm like, yo, didn't he just say, that shit ain't going down? And then your boy just backed it up right here. Like, yo, you know, if he proved that he could do this, he could do that. And now they're saying the competition ain't, you know, nobody has really taken over and showed that they could do anything. And now he needs to see them in pads to see what's going on. Joe, I think what do you think? I think that I think I think the quarterback competition is not exactly what they thought it was going to be. I don't think they're seeing either one of them as that that that quarterback that could forge them into this this next year.
29:21And now they're like, you know, this is the opportunity right here that we could get a quarterback that is, according to some people, a first round talent. We can pull him in a supplemental draft. Y 'all already got a couple first round picks or whatever that y 'all could toss up to get the guy. And now that's just me thinking. You know what I'm saying? What do you think, Joe?
29:42James Harrison:What do you think? At all points, the GM and the head coach are not – they're obviously two different people. and the head coach's job is to work and make the people that he has on his roster at this very time the best that they can be. And Todd Munkin honestly and truly believes, I think, that Shador Sanders and or Deshaun Watson is going to be able to be the starting quarterback for his team. I do not see him to be a liar. I think he's being honest and talking about their battle and what's going on with the Browns. I think when Andrew Berry is talking, it's just that right now we still don't have, they have improved it on the field.
30:18James Harrison:The general manager's job is always looking through the future of how can the team get better? What will we need in the future? What when, like just not closing any doors. The general manager is keeping all options open at all times because the league just moves fast. People get hurt. Things happen. You know what I'm saying? So I think what Andrew Barry is saying is he's more just keeping eyes open, seeing what's going on. Todd Munkin, not rocking. You know what I'm saying? No, right now we got our quarterbacks on our team. We're talking about a college player that's going through a whole complete situation of gambling.
30:49James Harrison:I'm with him a thousand percent. Coach Tom Munkin, yes. Like, no, why were you even talking about that? We're dealing with Deshaun Watson and Shador Sanders on our team that I believe are going to be great quarterbacks. That's a whole different situation. If he gets into the league, I don't know what that suspension situation is going to talk about. I'm not here to be talking about what ifs. I know I'm the head coach of the Browns and on my roster, I have Shador and Deshaun Watson. So I think with Todd Munkin's answer, I'm with him too. Like, yes, he did it himself. He needs to be punished. Like, I don't know.
31:24James Harrison:Slippery slow. He said it twice. Yes, he's being slow. And Todd Munkin is just keeping it a beam because from the first thing, when you first saw it, when you first saw the accusations of the 40 ,000 bets and all of the things, I'm like, oh, my goodness. He's cooked. He's toast. Like, Calvin Ridley did five bets. And, like, you know what I'm saying? And then he got suspended. Five bets. This man admitted to 40, Joe. That's what I'm saying, Debo. So when Todd Munkin right now, when Todd Munkin right there is talking. And I think he was underage at that time. Yes. So when Todd Munkin is talking, I'm understanding exactly where he's coming from.
32:02James Harrison:Yes, Todd Munkin, I'm with you a thousand percent. They're bringing up a quarterback that's in college that just got caught with these bets. and now we're talking about him. We don't know his situation. I'm here. We got two quarterbacks. Y 'all talking about bringing in a whole other situation. Get that out of here. Like, he got his whole stuff to deal with. The general manager, on the other hand, being able to worry about this. You as a GM don't realize you're putting your head coach in a horrible situation by actually doing that and adding that. This is the same GM that said, we're not trading miles, right?
32:31We're not trading miles. Ain't that the same, dude? According to all the reports over there, just a few weeks ago, Watson appeared to have the inside track now Shadorda made such significant improvements that they're going to have to go and figure out what it's going to look like when they get to real game you know material in pads you know training camp to see that wasn't coming out of nobody's mouth telling me neither one of them has really separated themselves from the other and now just a few weeks ago remember Watson supposedly had the inside track now your GM is saying stuff that sounds like he's open to Soresby being in a supplemental draft and bringing him in.
33:12Like, Joe, this is crazy.
33:14James Harrison:Tom Munkin hasn't switched his tone. That's why I'm... But the GM going to make the pull. He going to pull the trigger, right? If he pulls the trigger, then... But at the same time... You heard what he said. Hey, listen, this is my opinion. What the GM is doing, that's going to be his choice. I can't do nothing but sit here and do what I can do. And I already said, it's a slippery slope. So me saying that without saying I don't want him here, shouldn't the GM be like, hey, man, don't let me go out here and do anything or say anything. Let's go put my head coach. I just got in a position that's going to make him have to do a difficult job or deal with that.
33:49You go put him in a PR nightmare at a place that already has issues because y 'all can't win a game.
33:54James Harrison:But Todd Munkin is a grown man and a great coach, and that's what he was able to answer the question in the way that he did. He's not dealing with ifs and fifths. He's dealing with who is exactly on the team. Andrew Barry has to deal sometimes with ifs and fifths. He was saying we weren't going to trade Miles, ended up trading him. He's not saying that we're going to get this dude. He's saying he's going to evaluate all of the players the same way that they normally evaluate him. Do you know what I'm saying? So he's not saying that we're going to – that doesn't mean that we're going to get him.
34:18James Harrison:That doesn't mean he's going to send a pick. He's just saying, no, I'll get to do some greats. We're going to evaluate everybody. And look, probably won't get him. We don't know. Andrew Barry, don't listen to what he said out of his mouth. It doesn't mean it's going to be true. He said we weren't going to trade Miles. Miles was traded. He said we're going to evaluate the players that he never said he was going to get them or not. So, you know what I'm saying? Well, the first decision is going to come from the top, and that's going to be Roger Goodell on the decision if he's going to be allowed into it.
38:04James Harrison:So that's why it's not. There's so many different layers that still got to come out of if he's first win, is he going to be allowed to do it? And that's going to show, all right, bet. the NFL already is showing. They know what he's bringing in. They know what baggage he's coming in with. Do you know what I'm saying? Boom. Now NFL teams, what are you willing to give up for him? And now how long is he going to be suspended? Us seeing that he's put in 9 ,000 bets. Yeah, I don't. Whenever he gets in, if he gets in, he should have to wait a good year. And then when he gets in, you still got some time to serve.
38:43James Harrison:because that's yes yes yes we were saying that dbo we're saying the same thing because people change but there has to be time to show change you just can't change overnight i mean you can't change overnight but it takes it takes like you that shit don't hold listen bro that that don't hold that changing overnight don't change overnight but it's consistency that every single night It means one night, two nights, but it's the long, you're doing it for a year. That's real. We're showing growth. It's a lifestyle. Growth and progress. Are you progressing in the correct direction? Like in this situation right here, you can't say, oh, I was eating good.
39:29You know what I'm saying? I was eating clean. I just backslid a little bit. No, you backslide here. You done. You done. one bet, one bet. If I let you back in there, if I give you an opportunity, I'm going to say, listen, you got a year. We'll let you in next year. You prove that you can clean yourself up. You getting the help you need because it ain't your fault and all that. Listen, it ain't no issue, but if you bet one time, bro, you bet not even have nobody in your house that bets on anything, anything. IP addresses is being tracked, all that, we go see. You bet not that the sun will come up.
40:11James Harrison:Yes, bro. All right, period. If it's a problem, it's real addictions, there's real such things as addictions, but then there's real such things as being able to get having to have the process and knowing that every single day I'm fighting this addiction and I can't let that join. Right. He admitted to it. That's the first step, right? The thing is, the first step, admitting that you have it. So as long as you have it, then you're admitting it to it. So you know I'm battling against something every single day. So as soon as you get back in there, then, like, no, it's not just – you can't just dabble.
40:45James Harrison:So, like, there's certain people, like, I know family, they're alcoholists, and they know they're going to their meetings. They're not drinking. They can't be around certain people that drink because they know what that does to them. Or there's certain people that can't. But it's like they know that's not their lane. They can't do that. You know what your triggers are, man. You know your triggers. So we're not trying to play with what you got going on. If it's a real situation that is real going on, because if you're in the NBA or NFL and you play professional sports, you just can't gamble on the games.
41:13You can't gamble on the game, bro. You cannot gamble on the game. That does not happen, bro. It's going to be very, very, very interesting to see what Roger Goodell does for this. So we're obviously going to have to get a decision here in the next week or two because you got to go in, what is it, June 22nd for the supplement. That's the last, that's the deadline for it, to apply for it. So we go figure out and we go find out what they go do, man. We go going over here to Pittsburgh, man. Drew Aller, I got that right. You see that Aller? See, I got to put the lips out of Aller. I can't press against that thing, you know what I'm saying?
41:51He is being mentored by Aaron, I almost said Roger Goodell. He is being mentored by Aaron Rodgers, bro. Oh, my goodness. Aller said with me specifically, he pulled me aside during practice to talk through some drill work or things to focus on through different drills. In the film room, he's just asking me questions of what I'm seeing, what I was looking at, and why. He's giving me a lot of good knowledge. I'm really excited to keep learning from him. Obviously, he's one of the best to ever do it in this game. So the opportunity I have is one I'm not going to take for granted. Joe. Yes. Is he giving him extra special attention?
42:41Is this something that maybe, you know, he sees something in Allard that he doesn't know?
42:48James Harrison:I think he's just being a great, a good vet. I think he's being a good vet. I think he knows that Aaron Rodgers is on his way out and playing able to know that none of these dudes, they can't take my spot. He's comfortable in his own skin. And I think that he's just being a good OG and really just trying to show dudes the way. He's been in the league for such a long time. And I know at the same time, he's trying to get himself better. He's working on his craft. He's doing the things. But when you got young dudes as first times in the league that don't really know the ropes, don't know what's going on, he has so many things that he could just literally teach him just walking around and how to treat his body how to grow because you don't know what you don't know you've never learned from a player that's been in the league this long that's done the things that he's done so when I got in like Sheldon Brown couldn't this he was going on his ninth year in the league not even close to A-Rod going in 20 but just bro vet you know he's been to the Pro Bowl a long time and just the way that he went about his business and just helped me out with film study and just showed me the way of studying third downs, how down the distances is so important, just tendencies of like just little stuff.
43:52James Harrison:I'm like, dang, thank you so much because that's what somebody taught him. And he just would pass it down to me. And I'm like, thank you, OG. He didn't have to do that, but he was working on his craft and he sees me young rookie, just trying to learn, trying to do my best. He's like, okay, I'm gonna just give you some hints. I didn't come out there trying to be cocky. And I think where the young dudes are, if you don't act like you, it's okay to not know everything and not try to be the best but come out there do your hardest try your best try to know what you don't know what you don't know so when other dudes have been in certain situations and they can give you little tips and little things are like okay bet like this is this is what it is so they've seen it before so that's the thing when you start getting these reps and you start becoming comfortable you'll be you'll be that same OG so I just love the fact I think Aaron Rodgers is now in his comfortable in his own skin obviously knows nobody's going to take his spot he's announced that this is going be his final season so he's just wants to be able to be a good older vet that just shows younger dudes the right way and leave him leave him with some tidbits of knowledge that he had definitely for for me it's not a uh him giving uh extra attention it's him giving attention to the younger of the two or as he said me specifically like okay he's not saying that for me this is what he's doing specifically he's doing this and that for other people but for me this is what he's doing x y and z so like why is it him he's like he's he's the youngest one there so it's things that he has to you know actually drive into him that probably he gave already to how last year you know what i'm saying so now and that's something else first thing they were working on was like footwork and all that other stuff so aaron is not showing you know favoritism to to aller because you know he thinks he's more talented than what other people are trying to say no he's a rookie he needs more help specifically different help than will because he has already had a year under aaron you know and acquired what i would consider like the base knowledge of of the position you know and that's what i'm saying the talking and the fundamentals and the rookie season is the biggest year.
46:11James Harrison:So when them dudes get in, Debo, like you said, you don't know really nothing was going on. So Drew Allen just giving them the drills that we're doing, the tempo, the meeting schedule, just the work week. He doesn't know the season, how the practice schedule is going to change, how, you know what I'm saying, just in and out of things that they do during a regular week. So rookies get talked to a whole lot more. Will right now is trying to get in his own duffel. He's known. Aaron Rodgers gave him all of this same information last year. So you don't, he's not sitting there just trying to teach him.
46:40James Harrison:I'm not trying to coach you. No, I'm just trying to give you the little bits that I've been gave Will this. And Will is learning on his own now. He's in his second. He's trying to become his own. You know what I'm saying? I can give him a little stuff here and there. He can watch. He sees what's going on. But the talking to, the little drill work stuff, he's like, nah, that's little nit bits that I've been gave Will. Will's on his way. Yeah. Yeah, so the whole, like I said, the whole concept, bro, is just him giving that attention because what was, Mike McCarthy was working with him in rookie camp, just like footwork.
47:11They were just going straight through footwork that whole time. And you see him like one-on-one with him. Like, so now Aaron is coming through and like, yo, here, I'm seeing this. I'm seeing that. Like, okay, this is what you need to do. I'm sure he's talking to the other guys, too, because as he said, me specifically, he's talking to something different with Will. He's talking to something different with Mason. So, you know, everybody is getting different input at different levels of what it is that they're, you know, at as far as being in the game and what it is that could help them get better in the game at that level that they're at.
47:46So it's no seeing this or seeing that. And it's yeah, y 'all reading too much into it. It'd be crazy if it was the other way.
47:56James Harrison:Nah, what's the other way? He don't say shit to me. Like I walked You know what I'm saying I went over to A-Rod And he just You know what I'm saying He was like this Man you better go ask Goddamn Will or something You better go ask him I'm busy You know what I'm saying Like I mean It's just With this I'm like Okay Hey You know that's what they said Brett Favre Come on man That's what I'm saying He could have gave him Man you better go figure that shit out Don't come over You better go Because look Yeah Because you can have a vet That really feeling like You came here to take my spot Go learn some other way like I don't have nothing for you it's a real live competition he could be looking at it like JJ McCarthy you know he sit over there hey but that was one of the things that they said why they didn't they were I guess uh supposedly or or I guess it was possible that um uh the Minnesota was looking at trying to get Aaron and they just didn't think he would mentor JJ McCarthy like man JJ McCarthy would've told Aaron Rodgers he wanted smoke and the A-Rod would've been like okay bet okay you got my type of energy bet then fool I'm about to show you you ain't got nothing for me like that's what would've happened what do you think it is I can't think my head what he would've looked over there like just understand like if you gotta come in there I think these other you gotta come in there with a humble spirit like what up A-Rod you know what I'm saying know what it is if you JJ you don't know it what's up fool I want all that Are we not splitting first team reps?
49:26James Harrison:Who going out there first? You or me? We ain't splitting nothing. Who y 'all putting out there? Me or this old man? Who y 'all putting out there? Man, y 'all tripping. I'm like, whoa, that's probably what was going on. So you got to give off some good energy first. If I came in there to Sheldon Brown like this, get out of here, old. I'm about to take your spot, Sheldon. What you thinking? I know you've been in the league for a while, but they drafted me seven. No. You got to come in there with a humble spirit. At the same time, know you're surrounded still. I'm trying to take his spot, but I'm not about to come out there and be like this.
49:56James Harrison:Yeah, old man. No, what's good? You know what I'm saying? Respectfully, you've been in this thing. You've done it for a long time. You're obviously starting to pay you a check to get here. You're not doing nothing. You're here for a reason. And I see why. You're coming in here like a grown man, going about your business professionally. And you're being nice to me. You're showing me how to study some film. You're teaching me third down. Appreciate you, brother. You know what I'm saying? So you can have that energy. or the I'm young rookie, like, man, F all these dudes. It is like that because you're trying to get a job done.
50:26James Harrison:But it's a way to do it. What you think they drafted me 4-7, huh? Come on, take your spot. I don't need to listen to nothing you got to say. I don't need to listen to nothing you're talking about. I'm like, that's just crazy. You can't be thinking that you just like – and then some OGs like, man, yeah, yeah, yeah, they just trying to – come here, old young snapper. Like, you don't know nothing. No, if they're just like really out there trying to give you real solid game, yes, come here, take it. Yeah, for sure. For sure, man. It's called soccer. It's called football. Soccer. Football.
