Guest backgrounds
Not applicable (no guests).
Key claims
- Steelers’ defense was the difference: T.J. Watt recorded 2 sacks, a pick-six, and multiple tackles for loss; Cam Hayward led with 3 pass breakups.
- Atlanta’s offense struggled due to Steelers pressure and turnovers; the Falcons also had many self-inflicted penalties.
- Steelers offense showed flashes (flea flicker; points off turnovers) but had concerns: tackling gaps and missed/contested catches by DK Metcalf and Roman Wilson; offensive line and pass protection need improvement.
- The Falcons’ third-string QB situation helped Pittsburgh, but Steelers still want a more dominant performance.
Notable examples
- Jalen Ramsey pass breakup on Kyle Pitts; Steelers forced a fumble and scored off turnovers.
- A missed/contested catch sequence involving Roman Wilson and later a “tough” DK Metcalf contested play.
- Steelers’ late-game defensive stop after a botched field-goal/turnover-on-downs sequence.

4:23James Harrison:I'm doing okay, Debo. I mean, it was a tough day. It was a very, very, very tough day. It was a tough day. It was a great day. What you talking about? We won. Steelers won. Hey, we talking about good day. Hey, anytime I got the cigar in my mouth, you know it's a good day. Listen, don't, listen. Obviously, yes, Debo. I got my big white jersey on, man. You know what I'm saying? Look here. What was you talking about? Listen, I'm happy, obviously, that the Steelers won. You know what I'm saying? But I got 50-50. Browns, we got belted. And it's a lot of things that happened in that game. It's a lot of things we're going to go over.
5:02Joe, Joe, look here, man. I ain't coming up here with that energy, man. You're going to kill that shit. No, no, no. See, Debo, you can't. Hey, how'd your Florida Gators do then?
5:12James Harrison:Belt. How'd your Florida Gators do? Belt. Whoop. We whooping tail. You whooping tail. Okay. Okay. Hey, Joe, what y 'all record is over there in Florida? Let's get on. 2-0. Huh? 2-0. 2-0. 2-0. I'll run back. Running back for the Gators. Probably going to be first round pick. Top 10 draft pick. There you go, Joe. Listen, man, you got to find the silver lining, Joe. I'm just telling you, Joe, you got to find the silver lining. Hey, we one and one. Kent State, my school, we one and one, Joe. Yeah. And then you know what we about to go do this week? We about to go up there, oh, down there to Columbus, and we going to put belt on them Buckeyes.
5:57James Harrison:Debo, you don't believe that yourself. You know you going down there to go get. Hey, my nephew. You going down there. Timmons, Jay Timmons. Look here, boy, we coming down there and we going to do this to you. You hear me? Kent State. Deebo, y 'all ain't about to go do nothing to Kent State. Y 'all ain't about to go do nothing to Ohio State. And you know this. Y 'all about to lose by 50. And especially since they just lost to Texas. They got a point to prove. Y 'all getting them angry. Come on, man. You know what it's about to be out there. Y 'all just go out there and just hope everybody doesn't get, you know what I'm saying?
6:35James Harrison:We want everybody to come out healthy. Look here. Look here. Look here. Look here. I'm going to tell you right now. What? I'm going to tell you right now. We going down there. They primed for the picking. They think that. Listen, they might be mad. They thinking they're going to come put about a half, a hundred on us, or maybe a hundred on us before halftime. It ain't happening. Joe, I'm doing that good right now. I'm talking reckless. I am talking reckless right now, Joe. Debo, you talking reckless, man. You shouldn't be this excited. You know what I'm saying? Man, don't get all hype, hype. We won.
7:08James Harrison:Our Steelers, obviously, we played to win the game. But we don't act like we just won the Super Bowl. My Steelers won because I don't feel your energy right now. Okay, my Steelers won. And the dog Browns, that's what they had coming to them, Joe. Look here, Joe. Let's go ahead and jump on into this, man, because I seen something about right here, man. Look here. Make sure y 'all like, subscribe, and download because we got a lot of y 'all in there. Look here. Hey. Steelers defeated the Falcons 20-13. Yes, we did. Oh, now you want to talk about some we. Debo. Now you French. I've been telling I'm French, but now we're talking about our Steelers are playing against the Falcons.
7:47James Harrison:I'm excited about it. I'm hyped that we got the dub. So we're going to talk about it, but I'm just saying we can't get too overly geeked. A win is a win. A win is a win. Joe. A win is a win. A win is a win is a win. But I have so high I have high expectations for the Steelers. Joe, Joe, listen. We gonna get to that, but you gotta take what it is while you can. For sure. What it is where it's at, Joe. For sure. We ain't start the game off how we want it to. You know what I'm saying? We got the ball. We gonna head out there. We do a hot little three and out. You know? Atlanta get the ball back. Defense do what it do.
8:25And I don't know, man. There was a man over there about, you know what I'm saying? about that third. Alex Hotsmith? About that third down and four. Alex Hotsmith? Hey, Alex Hotsmith, you know what he did to that boy? He walked that boy back there. I think it was 70. What's his name? Matthew. Matthew's with him over there. He went on and walked that boy back. Go on ahead. Well, Matthew's getting worked a lot. Getting worked a lot, man. Go on ahead and get that sack. They punt that bell back over. Hey, they hand that thing to Rico real quick. He bust a quick six. You know what I'm saying? They throw that.
8:54Moo. He go on ahead and get him nine. Yes, sir. EK went on here, caught one for a hot six on the next first. Then he hit Pittman for the 21.
9:03James Harrison:Yes. Michael Pittman Jr. We started out. We started out. I ain't tripping on it. You know what I'm saying? We kick a field goal. Bob's come in there, bust that three, four. Bank row. Atlanta come out there. They kind of converted a couple first downs on it. You know what I'm saying? I ain't tripping. on it. We ain't tripping on it too much. But you know what they did? They went on head. They couldn't do nothing. They got that ball on that second down, Joe. They allowed a self-inflicted wolves. Jalen Ramsey pass breakup on Kyle Pitts. Did you see it? I saw it, man. Come on. He got beat. Didn't panic.
9:40Went on head. Got back up there. Reached the hand up there. Ain't put no contact on him. You know what I'm saying? They got to punch the rock back over to us. Do what they got to do. I understand that. And then bro, we get the rock back. And I ain't never thought I seen that coming, man. My man Jalen, he goes and fumbles the rock, man. At 27, handed back to him. They recovered the thing at 25. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. That's what we can't do. Atlanta, this nice little short field, man. I ain't liking this, man. And then, man, that boy, that boy, yeah, boy B. John, he went on here to shake back on a little hot little 23.
10:19James Harrison:Yes. 23. Right there, though. Right there, though. Echoes 26. You got to force him back to Jalen Ramsey. He ran in between y 'all. It's three of these guys there. We got outside leverage. You got to make sure that you get that outside and force him back into Jalen. Force him to your help. You let him skate in between you guys. 26, you got to beat that block and force him back to Jalen. He's running full speed. So if he's able to cut back right into Jalen, that's where the tackle is. You got to get that block. You got to get over that and make sure that he comes back to your help. For sure, for sure.
10:51Now, look here, man. We're going to go ahead and get the ball back. And we about to do it, and then we get a sack. But we got a holding call. It was a holding call. It was a holding call. So we go on ahead. I think it was about third and seven, something like that. And we get to, like, I think it was, who was it? What's the name got the P.I.? No, he didn't get the P.I. I'm wrong. They P.I. Roma Wilson. They P.I. Roma Wilson. No, no, no, no. That was the one that where DK, he dropped it. But he should have caught it. But it was kind of like a P.I., but not really a P.I. You know what I'm saying?
11:25But it was a P.I. But I wouldn't count that as one of his drops, so to speak. You know what I'm saying?
11:30James Harrison:Oh, no, I know which one. Yeah, you talking about the one that is. Yeah. That was a tough. It's a tough catch. You can make that. You can make that. Hit both of your hands. DB was grabbing on the back a little like that's just a contested catch. So when I call it drop, that's a tough one. That's tough. That's not as simple as some of the other ones. Yeah, he went back to him. I think that next play, he got the first down. But we ended up, again, having to settle for a field goal. Boz come in there and do what he do. We 6 '7". Atlanta get the rock back. You know, 6 '7". Hey, how they do that? 6 '7".
12:016 '7". 6 '7". 6 '7". Like that, Joe. That's how you do that thing. 6 '7". Like that, dog. Okay. Okay. Atlanta got a nice return on that, dog. When we kicked that rock on, but it got a holding call.
12:12James Harrison:That's what I'm trying to say, too. It was a lot of Atlanta self-inflicted wounds. So, you know what I'm saying? They were hurting themselves. They were shooting themselves in the foot. All them penalties? That return was crazy. Yeah, and then your boy Cooper Rush, I don't know. I think he got a little confused. And then he thought brisker, I think he thought he was playing for them. And he gone ahead and gift-wrapped us one over there to that interception. So now, hey, we got the short field. We starting on the line 31, Joe. Brother, we are playing against the third-string quarterback, so he should not be able to get off on us.
12:46James Harrison:When the ball's in the air, it's our ball. Joe, let me get some positive energy here. Just positive energy. Joe, we can talk about that later. Right now, I'm going to have some positive energy. Positive energy. I got you. I got you. We did that little flea flicker, though. Dumped that thing off over there. The Jalen, he went 18 to the 13, Joe. Yes. And at third and three, who we get, Joe? Moo. Moo. Fire Moo. Moo for the six-yard touchdown. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Yes. Yes. Sorry, I ain't going to lie to you right there. Points off turnovers. I was cool with that. But I'm talking about when Atlanta got the rock back, baby.
13:27When Atlanta got the rock back, baby, they got that first down. So they went, I think it was where – B. John hit five and five. B. John hit five and five. So on that first one, dude, yo, P. Dub got to come inside that tight end, bro. You can't get outside that right there because now you allow him to be able to get in there. and if it wasn't for the fact that Queen was able to somehow still get over the top and shake off that lineman and, you know, make that tackle, we could have stopped that, you know what I'm saying, for a way shorter game than that. And then I think the next play is where, was it Herbic?
14:04I think it was Herbic, like where he, like, you got to make that play, bro.
14:08James Harrison:Yes. We in the backfield. It's having a little like, just wrap it up. Get the legs. You got him. You got him. You got to make that play. Yes. Got to make that play. Then I got the first down. And then my guy, TJ, he said, hey, switch me size. He say, it's sweet over there. I told him it's sweet over there. 70 doing things that he don't know how to do. So 70 said, man, I'm going to whoop him. I'm going to hold his face mask, try it, do everything I can. But hey, TJ Watts said, hey, man, that face mask ain't going to help you. No, baby. Sack him. Sack him. Yo, sack him. Elite. Elite. Elite. Elite.
14:54That man T.J.
14:54James Harrison:Watt was getting off that ball. That's why we pay that man that money, yo. I mean, that's what I'm saying. Look healthy. Lungs good. Everything's good. That's just early. You know what I'm saying? Everything good. What's up? What's up, y 'all? Look here. Did you see Brisker fire on B-Zone? Yes, sir. Get to that third one, dude. that's how you same foot same shoulder rap and scoop give him that work give him that work I like it and then the next play bro hey go ahead and make that man five three five three five came on there and said hey give me fumble six yard loss brother brother that's what I'm talking about with my man Dean there's dirty things to your job close the gap you see the tight end now you closing the space B.J.
15:41James Harrison:don't have nowhere to go he's trying you Punch the ball out. That's what I'm talking about. He's tackling. I like Dean because he's going to throw everything in there. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Okay, right. Okay, right. And then we get the route back. We get like three penalties, something like that, to delay a game. DK get an OPI. It is what it is. We got to punt the route back over there. But, yeah. Then Ken Mayweather comes out here, opens up his PBU, news just start popping off. No question. Look here, man. Open up the PBU on them right there, man. They going ahead Atlanta getting in the field goal range.
16:19They bring out the kicker. Hey, I'm sitting there. I said he going to miss it. But I thought it was the other dude. But it's still, he hadn't missed, but he missed. I was right. Even though I was wrong on who it was, I was right on the result, Joe. Yes. Okay? We get the ball back, man. Third and 15, man. We get to third and 15. Old Rodgers hit Wilson for 20, man. Yes. We get to third and 13, man. And Wilson, he dropped the ball, but he hit the ground kind of hard. He hit the ground really, really hard. Yeah, but it's another one of those ones that should have been a P.I. Yeah.
17:06James Harrison:At the end of the day. You got to make a play. You got to combat catch it. If it's a DB and the receiver's right to him. He had the hands on him. Joe, you seen the slow-mo. You got to catch the ball. And when you hit the ground and ricochet it, it hurt, whatever. But these are tough, tough. We're not saying this is like, I'm not thinking it's a drop. I'm just saying, I mean, dang. Catch it. You still could catch it. If you catch it, we're in the NFL. That's the league. That's a true life P.I. He holding on to him, bro. Stop playing with me, bro. He holding on to him. Okay. We go for it. But we go for the field.
17:38I don't want it. And I don't know what the snapper was thinking here. I guess he was on his – he was looking at the clock. I think he looked at the clock and saw that the time was going down. But, like, they reset it. They did the, you know, old reset. He snapped the ball. He get the hold of five on. You know, he get two sweet five on. We done turned the ball over on downs right there. But defense come out there and do their thing. Three and out. Yeah. Three and out. Okay. He get the rock back. I think Rodgers ended that half. What was it? A sack? Jackie got sacked or something. We're going to the second half, okay?
18:09We're getting to the second half, and it's, you know, it's another nice return. But this time, no penalty. We got to do something about our coverage. Our coverage team, yes. Mom, are we there yet? Ten more minutes. Only ten minutes? Can you drive slower? What's up with them today? Lingo Kids. That app we downloaded last week? They love it. 21:25James Harrison:Start running that thing out of halftime about six times in a row. Bruh. That was, yeah. Well, you know, we knew what that was going to do. That was going to get a man to rock. You know what I'm saying? They got a third-string quarterback in there. That's what we got to do. Pass it to him. Drop it off to him. Dump it to him. Hand it to him. And then the very next play, Queen come down on that thing. He shoot that thing, man, only get like two yards. So now we at that, what was it, third and three by then? Uh-huh. You giving us a chance. But we had a little confusion. It looked like on that third down right there, they ended up picking up five.
21:58You know what I'm saying? So they get the first down, I think. He goes to about five and seven on the next couple plays. And it's another first down. But we hold him. Cam, pass break up again. We hold him. We hold him. Look here, man. They attempt another field goal. Hey, I ain't even worried about it. The man missed again. I ain't even going to lie to you. I was surprised when he finally ended up making one, man. Yeah, he had a bad day. Yeah, we get to like that third and six. And DK, well, I thought he dropped it, dropped it. But that was another P.I. that missed, dude. That was legit. That's a tad early, yes.
22:39James Harrison:That was legit. Yes. He hit that hand. I'm a corner. I'm playing him. If you beat like that, I'm loving the way you're jumping because you're trying to hit it right before it gets there. And the referee didn't call it. That's going to be – it's so bang, bang. It's not – wasn't as blatant. But when you slow it down, he hit him before the ball got there. So if he would have thrown it back, it's a pass interference. It ain't even going to slow down. You saw that one, man. It was. It was. He was holding on to it. He can't move his hand. Yes, I know, D-Bo. Come on, come on, man. That was a pass interference.
23:09I'm with you. For sure, for sure. For sure. We're going to ask for that thing. I think it's late in the third. They end up – he finally makes the field goal. We would have come down to it. You know what I'm saying? We got 13 to 10 now. You know, we come out there and we do nothing with it. We give them a three and out. Atlanta come back out there and immediately De 'Jon take off for a 20 piece. Okay. But he fumbled the ball. But we're able to cover the right. And then my guy, TJ Watts said, hey, look here, man. I'm done with this bull spit. First down, that man said, only thing I could do because he's running the ball is just stopping.
23:53I stopped him for zero. He said, okay. You going to pass the ball on second down? Second to 10, you going to pass the ball? He said, uh-uh. Look here. I got to take Madison to my own hands. Come on, bro. Interception. Touchdown. And on that play, Joe, you know what happened, Joe? What's up? He became only the second player in NFL history to record 100 sacks. Plus. And 10 exceptions. Plus. Only other person to do it since they started keeping stats of sacks is Julian Peppers. Hall of Fame. Hey, it's crazy. H-O-F-G. You already know what it is. H-O-F-G.
24:35James Harrison:I say this, brother. Let's go in, Joe. When T.J. Watt is on the field, Debo, healthy at 100%. It's not just. What you're saying? He does it all the time. He does it all the time. Look at that. He does it all the time. It's unbelievable. Woo! And that's why we're saying when TJ's out there healthy, is he, oh, no, we need to move on from TJ. No, you don't. You don't do nothing when you have players like that. What you talking about? I'm talking about anybody that's saying anything crazy. TJ Watt is that man. Getting, did you, the ball, you talking about just batting balls down. He's picking them off, Deebo.
25:17James Harrison:That's like the jug machine coming at you. within, like, right here, five feet from the drug machine. Ching, let me get that. He's a baller. Come on, TJ, swat. What the water is. Oh, what the swat is. TJ, that's how you take matters into your own hands. Look here, man. Atlanta, get back out there. Herbert, bruh, bruh, you got this man wrapped up in the backfield. You got B-John wrapped up in the backfield, and you lose him, and he goes for 14. Yeah. Then, rush. How about it's Dotson for, what was it, 1920, something like that? At some point, at some point, brother, listen, they done paid you, what was that, 25?
26:02Herb, they done paid you 25, baby. We got to make the ones that's just sitting there free. Layups. We got to make the layups. Let's go. Lock in, baby. We should really stand up. You know what I'm saying? I think the next three plays or whatever, I think they end up – they actually make another – no, no, no, no. He missed that one. This is the one he made. He makes that field goal. So now we got 13 to 20.
26:31Again, kickoff landed short, though. Kickoff landed short. When the kickoff lands short, Joe, you know what happens? You know where they put you? It puts you at the 40, Joe. That's when they put you at the 40, Joe. You know what you need to do? need to at least get a field goal. We get a 56-yard field goal attempt, and I don't even know how this happened. My man, Bob. Well, Bob, it's not like him. Hey, it's not like Bob. Man, a little wide, right? You know what I'm saying? It's still 13 to 20. You know what I'm saying? I ain't tripping. I ain't tripping. First down. B-down. Again. 15. Out to the 39.
27:08Joe. Third down come. Yeah.
27:13James Harrison:Come on, Debo. That man, that man, what that man name is, Joe? Alex. High Smith. High Smith. Get your ass up out of field. Hunt. Is they hunting? Hunt. Hey, and then the offense go out there and close it out. Joe. Hey, I ain't going to lie to you, Joe. I'm happy. I'm happy, Joe. But this is what I'm going to do. What you going to do? I'm going to do this for my guys, man. Listen, I'm going to the good stuff, man. Okay. You know what the good stuff is, Joe? What's the good stuff? T.J. Watt. A thousand percent. Two sacks, three tackles for a loss. Interception. Touchdown. High Smith. Two sacks. Hey, guess who was our leading pass defender?
28:05Who? Pass defender. Cam Hayward. He had three of them thiams.
28:09James Harrison:Oh, obviously. Mr. PBU. B-B-U. Big arms. I might have to start calling him SWAT man. No, no. Three-piece? D-line, I like what I saw as a whole. Matter of fact, I like what I saw as a whole defense. Defense, you know, they did well. I think it was what? It was 2 or 12 on third down. But what I didn't like is the little spots here and there where my inside backers wasn't getting downhill fast. That's when coming down there. I didn't like our tackling. Tackling needs to be better. Herb's tackling needs to be better. We could have shaved another, what, 30 yards or something. Yeah. What about you, Joe?
28:55James Harrison:Ivo, everything you're saying is exactly right. I think that with the Steelers, I have such a high expectation for what I want us to do and the plan that I have for the Steelers. That's the only reason why I try to come at it like, you know what I'm saying, more conservative and don't try to get too up, too down, because we got bigger fish to fry. The plan is trying to get to the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl, period. Plan the Super Bowl all day, Joe. No, no, no. But when I'm judging the Steelers, when we're starting the season, the beginning of the season, at the end of the day, the goal is to win the Super Bowl at the end of the season.
29:30James Harrison:So when we do leave the game, I'm hype because we won. So it's always easier that we say to grade tape when you win a game than when you win a game. Because the goal and the plan, we play to win the game. Yes, sir. So now when I'm looking at us, it's like, boom, like you said, defense. OK, we were looking good. But sometimes with the running game, we know we're playing against a third-string quarterback. So with this game, I'm expecting us to go out there. We got to stop B.J. Robinson. I want to look at a way, way, way more dominant performance. Yes. We're playing against a third-string quarterback.
30:04Yes. That's all I'm saying. We got B.J. Robinson. We know the only person that can affect us is the only person.
30:09James Harrison:We can run. They were giving it to him out of the backfield. And we said this. We like, look, I don't give a damn. With Drake London, he's going to catch a couple. He had about 30 yards. The receivers, they're not going to be up. Kyle Pitts had nothing. Zero punches for zero no. He only threw it to him, I think, once. One time, pass breakup. Like, nothing at all. So I'm looking at it like, look, Steelers, we know what we got going on. Defense, we don't have to worry about too much on O besides B. John Robinson. They're going to be handing it to him left, handing it to him right, tossing it to him out the backfield, screening it to him.
30:36James Harrison:So when we did have our opportunities, like you said, if we would have made a couple of those tackles on the defensive back, when they screened it out to B. John, If we just feel and make sure he cuts it back in and Jalen Ramsey gets that tackle, boom. Like, just simple plays like that, I'm like, okay, we're playing against them. We know it's Bijan. Let's just get to our gaps, do a couple of things right. Good job. But let's look at the tape and there's certain things we could fix and it could be a dominant performance. Exactly. You know what I'm saying? Not great. Not great. Not great. Good. Because you got to measure who you're playing against.
31:08James Harrison:Yes, sir. We had another quarterback in there that was actually being able to throw some of them dots. He threw it to Drisker that floater across the middle. That's just, you threw a lollipop. So I'm like, okay, thank you for the lollipop. If that's a dot, it might be looking like a little bit different. So with the defense, solid. A couple of things we can look at, making our tackling, tightening that up, filling up some of the gaps on the B. John joining the outside. You know what I'm saying? But then Cam Hayward, like you said, stepping up. Are you kidding me? All those pass breakups, all those batted balls.
31:37James Harrison:T.J. Watt, two sacks, a pick six. Highsmith, sacks. Like, our playmakers, our defensive line, those dudes made plays. Like, game-changing plays, did what they had to do. So when we look at this, we're just, like, grading on that. Cam, TJ, oh, my goodness, y 'all balled out. Jalen Ramsey, when you had to, making those plays in the backfield. Dean, like, stepping up, punching the ball out. Like, that's good stuff. That's good work. Defense, okay, we can always improve on certain things, but that was nice. Offensive side of the ball, okay. Let's look at, okay, running game wasn't as bad. Sometimes Jalen Warren was hitting the hole really well.
32:12James Harrison:I would look at the one thing that kind of Aaron Rodgers was some passes a little off. Like we had Wilson on the seven. So he missed a couple of passes. My main thing was it's early in the season. We're going to be good. No turn up, no picks. And you got to realize something. That's his first game now. Real life for his game. We got these. When they started sliding that lineup and we started getting those one-on-one contests, I'm like, okay, DK, it's you versus him. Those are 50-50s that we have to win those. Roman Wilson, we're one-on-one down the field. It hits you in the chest. Like, you dropped it.
32:43James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? Like, there's opportunities there, but it's like often. Like, DK, you got to catch that. The 10 and N, the dig, hit him right in the hands. I'm like, okay. Like, some of this stuff, brother, you're the highest paid player on our offense, making$30 million a year. You're a number one receiver. That's why we have you here. These plays need to be made. You know what I'm saying? It's not like you got to make the routine. Yeah. Like, come on, baby. You can't be a number one and drop two balls, and especially when it comes down to it, like, you're not getting that many targets.
33:14Like, your drop percentage is too high to be able to be considered as that number one guy and go out there and drop balls like that. That's just not what we're going to be able to do and be productive. I like the fact that we started using Fryer Move. I think Fryer Move went, what, five? He got five for 46. Yes. We had Jalen, like you said, he had an okay day. You know what I'm saying? He only had 10 carries, but he got 46 yards. No Pittman, he went three for 58. And the thing, like the offensive line, bro, we need to be able to block, period. Yeah. The run game, the pass game. And the crazy thing is, as much as y 'all want to talk about old Rodgers, he's this and that.
33:59If it wasn't for Rodgers getting that ball out and seeing where it needed to go, it would have looked worse than that. We have to shore up our offensive line. We have to be able to pass, protect better. We have to get a running game going because without it, dude, we're not going to have any success. Like, we won this game, and we still lost the time of possession against the third-string quarterback. Like, come on.
34:24James Harrison:Yeah. So we're on the same page. I think the good thing is it's always better to when you're able to end the other day. You got to win the games. You got to win. That's the plan. So we went out there. We won. But there's always room for improvement with the offensive line. Like with Aaron Rodgers, he was missing a couple of those passes with DK Metcalf, Roman Wilson. We got to make plays. You know what I'm saying? Like that's the thing. When you get your one-on-ones, you got to make those. Like we got to hit with more of those big plays because they started, bro, it was basically no safety. They was like, look, it's one-on-one.
34:54James Harrison:What y 'all going to do? So then that's when we started having to do those shots to Roman, shots to DK. It's like, man, you get that opportunity. it's supposed to be routes on air. Run a fade ball on them. And then if you got them close, give them a little, give them a little. And the OPIs, you can't blatantly push. You got to be smooth enough to, like smooth. Like a little elbow, not the extended arm. Yeah. All in all, man, I'm happy we got the win, but we got a lot of things that we can correct and adjust and get better at. That's, you know, that's what happens when you get into the season, you know, especially when you first start the season, Your whole objective of that is to start wherever it is that you're at and do a steady incline until you go all the way through into the Super Bowl and so on and so forth.
35:42James Harrison:You can't be peaked right now. Yes, sir. You got to go. Right. My Washington up there is still throwing people into the dirt. Oh, my goodness. Did you see that, Stephon? Bruh. I'm trying to tell them, man. They ain't listening to what I'm saying, man. Man, listen, y 'all trying to do all this cutting. I'm not getting stiff on him like that. Listen, y 'all trying to do all this cutting, man. Listen, somebody got to say, you know what? If it was me out there, I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to try and fire off on him. I'm going to try and put him to sleep. I'm shooting. I'm just going straight in.
36:14Like, I'm running at alignment. I bet I'm saying. Doing the screen. You know how they do the screen? They would cut me. I'm like, I don't know. They ain't allowed to cut no more, right?
36:23James Harrison:No. That's what I'm saying. When he's looking at you, you see him and he's seeing you. Yes. Run up up top and just dive in. Yes. I'm trying. Bruh, I am. It's going to be to put somebody to sleep, you got to be willing to go to sleep. Facts. I'm willing. I know you are. I'm willing, Joe. I know you are. I wake up later and get it all over with, man. I ain't tricking. That's a good nap. I told you that's some of the best sleep I've ever had. I told you that, Joe. Look here, man. Say. Say, man. I think the Juwan Brisker was asked if the players had any idea if nephew Joey Porter Jr. would play or not.
37:08We got the sign. This is his answer. Do you guys have an idea that Joey might not play? And what do you see out of Asante in his play set? Next week.
37:19James Harrison:I don't know. But for the corners out there that play with us today, they do very well. We communicated we were on the same page. They didn't miss a pro and in the run game. They were amazing I mean you see them guys coming up and hit Dean almost had a strict fumble. We should get on that and things like that. So yeah Definitely great play has the uncertainty been a trouble at all The uncertainty of whether he would or wouldn't does that be an issue at all for you guys as you prepare for a game? No, because we've been playing man, appreciate you. We've been playing with Dean and Asante and other quarters the whole year.
38:00So, I mean, obviously we know what we got when he comes back, but he's been in and out. And, I mean, we've just been on the same heartbeat. And I feel like that's what's different with this team. Like, we don't flinch. And that's the amazing thing about this team. Joe, listen, man, you don't have to ask her what they ask you. You just got to be there and available to answer, but you don't have to answer that question. Debo. That's how you do it.
38:28James Harrison:That was, get that man an Oscar. Get that man an Emmy. That's how you get out of a question without setting nobody up. You answer what you want to answer. And he did it perfectly. Where you gave them like, you know, boom. And that pause. That pause, Debo. Yes. Like this. he was like, okay, let me. I don't know. But Jaquan, yes. Yes. Let me tell you about my boy over here. What's his name? Yes. Let me tell you about who is playing out here because guess what you can do? You can control what you can control. The thing is with that is you know what it is. It's a business that's going to be Porter Jr.
39:07James Harrison:It's the business aspect. So he's like this. I'm a player. I'm the safety. My contract is with the Steelers and I've been playing right now. We've been doing the whole training camp. Dean's been in there. Dasante's been in there. We've been vibing. I've been starting. We've been communicating. When Joey Porter comes, he's in there. We vib. We communicate. You know what I'm saying? So as me being the safety, whoever's in here, we have great communication. These dudes have been balling. Did you see Dean out there today? Did you see Dasante out there today? The dudes actually had a great game, played well.
39:37James Harrison:Boom. Move on. See, this is the thing that a lot of these people don't understand is that we communicate with each other. Like, just because he's having a dispute with the Steelers doesn't mean he's having a dispute with his brothers in that locker room. No. Like, communication is there between the players. Trust and believe. Mm-hmm. Okay? Him not answering that question is the greatest thing he did. Literally. Literally. we know what y 'all don't know and we ain't gonna never understand trust and believe this is not a distraction they understand the business of it we all understand the business of it we want to see everybody get paid yep whether it happens that's not our choice because we're not in control of that but it's up to us I think that you did ask for a trade I think I heard I saw a report of that So I understand that may be a good thing considering that no contract is done and they don't negotiate in the season.
40:47I would say it's a great thing, especially for him, if it happens. I don't see why it wouldn't happen as long as, you know, I guess if the Steelers get whatever that value is they think they should get, then I don't see it, you know, being an impossibility, especially with it being so early in the season. But Joseph, the Jaguars whooped on somebody's name to clear around 34 to 10. Man, that man, Dushan, watched it. He played. He played. Bro, I watched it. I was watching the game, right? And I was watching. Warning. The following song has been rated dangerously catchy and may not be suitable for grownups.

And I'm seeing, I'm like, oh, I see the first play. I see the second play. I'm like, oh, they balling. I see the third play. I'm like, oh, that boy's doing the thing. Man, I see the fourth play. I'm like, oh, them boys do it. So I just turned it off and I stopped there. Debo, shut up.
44:32I just turned it off and then I wake up and I see that it's 34 to 10. What happened? Because I turned it off about the fourth play in the offense. I saw he was doing this thing.
44:46James Harrison:the 2026 season at the very beginning it got bad fast debo so you talking about you sitting there lying i know you watched the game i know you watched i seen the first place the fifth play of the game was the was the pick with 12 minutes oh my and 11 seconds 12 minutes and 11 seconds in the first quarter. Second and five on the 23-yard line. Like you said, our first couple of plays, Deshaun started off beautifully. Play action. Nice little dunk to the tight end. You know what I'm saying? Gain to 10, 15. You know what I'm saying? Then, yeah. And then after the fifth play, we got picked off. He got confused, bro.
45:34That's what they said. He got confused. They said he got confused, Joe, and he thought that he was playing for Jacksonville, and he threw it to the Jacksonville player. Nah. They said, then the Browns defense said, we go do better than the offense. And then... And then... Oh, they said they went eight plays at least before they let them score. Yeah.
45:58James Harrison:And that was just real. And when he... What's my man's name? Trevor Lawrence hit my man Parker on that corner route. That's just man-to-man coverage. My man Harden, the corner, got worked. He just got hit off the line. Boom. And then he was in trail technique from the beginning. And I was just man-to-man, outside leverage. Nothing the safety could do. That's nobody's fault but you. You're man-to-man coverage. We need maybe a little bit more. And he only had two and a half seconds to throw. He was standing there for two. Boom. I counted it. One, two. He threw it at two and a half. I was going to ask you what Miles could have helped.
46:30James Harrison:He got to get there. Boom. I was going to ask you what Miles could have but that wouldn't have worked because he couldn't have got there in two seconds right? Get the ball again our third possession I mean our second possession three and out three and out yeah y 'all went y 'all went three and out? Yes he what? he said he tried to throw it to another he was scrambling to the side and I'm and threw it to the ground I think he was confused to the other first quarter that was so i think he might have been confused for the first quarter okay now listen it's okay it's okay because i hear the defense went out there and they they didn't they said they gave him a first down on the second and four by just lining up in neutral zone is that true like why would they undisciplined and that's the other part it was self-inflicted wounds Oh, no, uh-uh.
47:28They said that Jacksonville did try to help him, and they gave him a false start. They false started. Yeah. And he did an illegal forward pass, but they still scored. They still scored a touchdown.
47:41James Harrison:Holes in the zone. We rushing four, sitting in the zone, letting Trevor Lawrence have all day. People just running all through the zone. All through the zone, butt naked. And we need to play deep to short. Is this the same defense from last year that y 'all decordered? Oh, he left. That's right. I forgot. I'm sorry. So it was 14-0 by then, huh? And then not – Fannin? Fanno? What's the – the tackle? He got beat for a sack. What? Is that true? Oh, my goodness. When they made it 14-0, that was just – that was combat catch. That was good defense. That was a great throw, great catch. He threw it through a window on three players.
48:29It don't matter. It was still a touchdown, right? It's still a touchdown. You're still right. And then the Browns got back out there, and that's when your tackle gave – that tackle you've been talking about, he gave up a sack. Yes. And then Jags – That's how we ended the first quarter. Oh, they took it easy on him. And then they scored her. They just scored her. They just went and got a field goal. They just went and got a field goal. Okay. Yep. But, no. No. Debo. KC Concepcion? KC Concepcion. Let me get in on the action?
48:57James Harrison:My young bull. And gave him the ball? He said here? Yeah. And I like KC Concepcion. I mean, when it rains, it pours. Rookie, first game of the season. He was out there fighting, trying. But, like, no. I mean, when it rains, it pours. Oh, he said they wasn't going to beat him out. He going to be a part of this, too. So he gave him a turnover, too. And then they went. They scored another touchdown after that. Yeah, off the turnovers, man. Two TDs off the turnovers. Wow.
49:30Hey, listen, I'm just telling you what the people over here are telling you. What are they telling you? I didn't watch the thing. They said it started in the second half. They went on down and got another touchdown with 31-0. Yeah.
49:44James Harrison:We went holding. But before the halftime, when we just started going flags galore, Holden False start Holden Well Joe What you want them to do They scared They just sit there Unmotionless And then they can't block So they just holden They scared Just get them Don't hit the show With our hopes and dreams All right there And that man That's why we starting them That's all Our coach know That's all we got
50:14James Harrison:Joe Debo once it's 30 Once Oh hold up They say y 'all got a drive going in about four quarters. They say y 'all got a drive going in. We return it. We are return, man. My man, 23, almost taking it to the crib, taking it to the 23-yard line. Like a 75, 70, 80-yard return. What happened, Joe? What happened? We get three. Penalties. Delay a game. You got three, man. Good job. Delay a game. It wasn't a shutout, Joe. You got to look at the silver lining. And we're talking about, no, no, no. It's just we, on this drive, when we got the return all the way down there, and then we get the delay of games and the snap penalties, the pre-snap penalties, we talked about Deshaun.
51:01James Harrison:That's what was supposed to be looking good is our pre-snap before the snap. I think somebody— It was not a good day. They said he might be better than Aaron in pre-snap. Who said that? Nobody said that. Yeah. Oh, no, no, no. I lied. I lied. They were talking. They did. We get another. I don't know. Debo. Yeah. It was. They. It was. Y 'all scored 10 points at some point. The. We got a bomb. And when it's trash. I like. We threw a 48 yard touchdown to Denzel Boston. Love to see it. Thank you. We got. Like, but all of our. that touchdown was once the game. The game was over after the first quarter.
51:51James Harrison:And then at halftime, it was - Oh, y 'all gave up after the first quarter. No, we didn't give up. But if nothing, nothing was the, there was no discipline. There was no discipline, Debo, on the offensive side of the ball, defensive side of the ball. We couldn't get anything going. There was nothing, there's not too much of anything positive to say about that game. I mean, I think it's positive. I mean, 16 to 22, that's a high percentage show. Deshaun went 16 to 22. That is a high percentage show. Like, and he scored a touchdown. You know? Like, he was only sacked five times. Like, what are we talking about?
52:35And that defense y 'all got, y 'all defense? I don't, that ain't the same defense. Because, I mean, every quarterback did good out there. Like, you got to think about it. Trevor Lawrence, he went 18 of 23. Deshaun went 16 of 22. Like, that's good. You know? Except, you know, instead of being sacked five times, he got four touchdowns. You know? Y 'all did win something, though. Penalties. What is that? 11 penalties. I had 11 penalties, yo. That's good. You got to win somewhere. You see what I'm saying? You got to win somewhere. And it don't matter where. Get a win somewhere. where when you're a Cleveland Brown and you're a Cleveland Brown fan, y 'all got to take whatever wins you can get.
53:20You understand that? And that's a win. Don't you never let nobody tell you nothing different. Win is a win. Hey, D-Val. Listen, your head coach. Your head coach, Todd Monk, on whether he is going to stick with Deshaun Watson in week two, this is what he had to say. And I understand him.
53:50I'd rather just talk about today because I haven't had time to even look at the tape. I mean, I'm sure as hell not firing me. I'm not firing our staff. I'm not getting rid of all of our players. So he happens to be one of 53. And however many practice squad guys we got and our staff, he's one of that. So we'll evaluate everything. but to just say that emotionally here at the end when we're you know I mean we just didn't play good enough and didn't coach well enough hey Joe hey Joe look here man I'm just I want to ask you quick do you if it was you if and it was you Joe and you was the head coach man do you get Deshaun one more week Joe or do you go on out there and say Shadur go ahead and see what you can do against the Bucs.
54:41James Harrison:With the Browns, it's more than the quarterback position right now, too. It's no matter who was behind center. I thought you had a good defense, though. You got to play the games. And when I was out there just watching what we saw, there was no pressure. There was no—we were out there running four-man pressures and not being able to get to Trevor Lawrence. He was standing back there with all day to throw. And when we had some zones, they were just finding holes in the zones. We got to put – we're not going to be able to get pressure with Verse. I like Jared Verse, and this was his first game of the season.
55:16James Harrison:He had four tackles, and they said it was a tackle for loss. All of those came in the fourth quarter when the game was over. So basically, like, I like to see him out, but it was – What you're saying, Joe? What you're trying to say right there, Joe? What I'm trying to say is this. Everybody has to perform. Like, I want to see, we need to get, when we're running four-man pressures, that means that we're going to have to get some pressure at the quarterback. Because if we can't do that, we got to send more. And we have to play some man-to-man. I can see when we were out there, Jalen, I mean, Denzel Ward, he was playing a lot of zone coverages.
55:48James Harrison:And it's not his fault when you're in your zone, quarterback standing there all day, they're going to catch you in the tackle if they're finding the holes in the zone. So we're going to have to explain, man, put some more pressure. They know he is a zone coverage DP. No, he's not. That's why they put him in the zone. No, he's not. Denzel Ward can play man. Tyson Campbell can play man. Uh-uh, they pay him all that money to play zone, Joe. No, no, no, no, no. Yeah, they do. I'm telling you what they doing. That's why they paid him all that money to play zone, Joe. It's definitely Deshaun Watson played not good, Debo.
56:24James Harrison:He did not play well. I thought you were about to say, hey. No, he did not play well. So, like we said, they started him for the— I thought you didn't want to say he played ass. I ain't going to lie to you, Joe. That's what I thought you were going to say, and I was really hoping that you weren't going to say that. I mean, it was not—I didn't want to start Deshaun Watson from the beginning of the season. But right now, if you—for the reason why they started him, you got to see how he's going to play. Why? Why they started him, Joe? Because, honestly, Shador didn't steal the job during preseason.
56:56James Harrison:When I was watching in that first preseason game, both of them played damn near the same. Shador's balls were getting knocked down at the line. Like, it didn't look as good. His second preseason game when he balled out, I'm like, if you would have did that both times, then you would have stole the job from Deshaun. I think when he didn't outplay him by a landish margin, they was already going to give Deshaun the job anyway because they wanted to, the ownership. So it's like you had to steal it from him. It wasn't really a competition. When we saw when Shador was supposed to start, he's like, well, yeah, I guess we're going to have him start this game.
57:26James Harrison:He didn't never have a shot. You know what, Joe? I just think he didn't play bad enough to lose it. I'm going to go with Monk. I'm going to keep him in there at least for the next six weeks. For the next six weeks? Yeah, I'm going to keep him in there. No, that's too long. Why not? We got to play young. We want some of that too. Oh, man. I want some of that too. By week, because this is what will happen. He'll start the second game. He'll start the second game. Then if he gets smoked again, if he doesn't play well, if the team too, when I'm talking about Deshaun, a lot of dudes out there looking at not.
58:05James Harrison:So we got a lot of people that are getting, so when Munkin's talking about, oh yeah, 53, everybody's getting graded. Yes, please do that. Grade yourselves too with the coaching. We're putting people in the position to win and having us sit back in those zones and let Trevor Lawrence just pick us apart. Let's figure some of that out. And then at the same time, when we do play, man, Harden, You were getting cooked, so we got to make sure you have your outside leverage. Don't get beat off the line like that for a free-flowing touchdown. Like, that's just not okay. There you go. You see how I'm pulling my hair back across my ear?
58:36You see how I'm pulling my hair back across my ear? Yeah. Yeah. Why are you doing that? I don't know. That's just how well y 'all played. How you can see me pulling my hair back across my ear.
58:47James Harrison:You know what I'm saying, Joe? So I'm going to say this. Like, let me finish where I was going then, Debo. Hey, Joe, hold on. Let me ask you a question. because listen let me ask you a question real quick go ahead hey didn't y 'all have like a defensive rookie over there about a year yeah where was he at like I said there's not nobody played too well with Devo they was giving it to us in every situation so anybody like players they gotta play well they didn't they didn't do too Graham Mason Graham was probably that the bright spot in our kickoff for Turner Those are the two bright spots of the whole game.
59:25Well, when you get the ball kicked off to you that many times, you should at least do something with one of them. Go ahead with what you were saying before I— Before you interrupted me, what I was trying to tell you is,
59:40James Harrison:Deshaun Watson is going to have one more game versus Tampa, and we're going to go see what that looks like also. First one's not good. Second one's not good. Then you're going to go into the— If we don't, let me not say second one not good. Hopefully, I'm not rooting for him not to play well. But when I see what I saw, I don't think him, I don't think a lot, he's just not looking good. Ain't got no hope. Man, let's see what we got with your dirt. Let's see what we got with your dirt. With Denzel Boston, with Concepcion, just don't be fumbling. Boston, with that, throw it deep. Let's take some shots.
1:00:13James Harrison:We still digging it down. Throw the ball deep. Like, let's see. Let's see what's happening. So by this time, the next game, he's going to play against Tampa. See what happens there. Because if it looks like it did for game one, when you're coming back to the crib for game three, it's going to be the Bluebirds. If it's not, you've got to start playing well, and then we want to see what we have with Shador. Because for the team, for the Browns, I'm not about to say and act like we got everything going because, oh, yeah, our defense is – no. Our defense needs work. Our offense obviously needs work.
1:00:46James Harrison:Our team needs work. You know what I'm saying? So don't be like, what's Watson want to do? We're going to continue to lose? Let's see what we can do with Shador. Do we have a quarterback in the future? If not, we're going to continue to keep on losing, and then we can go get it. Right now— You do have a quarterback in the future, Joe. You do. You got two other guys on the team. So, like, it's not like you won't have a quarterback. We're just saying that, you know, you got a quarterback now in the present. It's just not very productive, you know? Yeah. That's all. Everybody, anybody can have it.
1:01:21James Harrison:Everybody has a quarterback, Debo. But is he worth a franchise quarterback where you can build on, where the Browns are? But now, when you're looking at the defense, we thought we needed defense, and now we just need the franchise quarterback. Now we've got to figure out the scheme. We've got to figure out what the hell is going on in this zone. Can I ask you a question, Joseph? Joseph, can I ask you a question? Hey, y 'all paying$230 million, right? That's what you get for$230 million. Can I go over there and see if I can at least get me$100? That was five years ago. That was five years ago. And you're still holding on to him.
