In short

Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers patience/tender and OTAs; Browns 2024 schedule predictions; Deion Sanders’ comments about Shadar Sanders/Shedeur and whether Prime is too involved with his son’s pro development.

Guests/backgrounds

Host “Deebo” and “Joe” (co-host). They also discuss Deion Sanders’ perspective (no direct guest). No other named guests appear in this episode’s main content.

Key claims

  • Rodgers’ decision timeline won’t derail Steelers because they’re developing young QBs during OTAs; training camp is when things matter.
  • Media/analysts are the ones “losing patience,” not the Steelers.
  • Browns should improve via draft/offseason changes; special teams and offense need to score more consistently.
  • Deion’s “scars” quote about Shador/Shedeur is interpreted as metaphorical, but the hosts criticize the wording and discuss whether it’s appropriate.

Notable examples

  • Steelers: young QBs Will Howard and Drew Allen; OTAs not mandatory; tender kept Rodgers from leaving.
  • Browns schedule: Week 1 at Jacksonville; Week 2/3 Florida stretch; multiple “for sure” wins predicted (e.g., Carolina, Jets, Titans, New Orleans) and losses (e.g., Tampa Bay, Saints, Raiders/Houston mentioned); final record debated around 10–7 or 8–9.

We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey. With all the snacks and drinks. Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?

2:32James Harrison:So, it is said by, what's this guy's name? Tom, NFL Media, Tom Pellicero. Yep. he said at some point the patience is going to run out. It's currently seems like, well, Aaron Rodgers' decisions, it says Aaron Rodgers' decision delay could cause Stillers to run out of patience. I don't believe it. NFL media Tom, whatever that dude name is, Pellicero. He said at some point, patience is going to run out. It certainly seems like the patience for the Steelers fans, just based on feedback I get every time I talk about Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, because you keep talking about it. May have already be running out for some people, for Art Rooney II, for Mike McCarthy, who's trying to get the team ready on the field.

3:38James Harrison:that patience that patience may be tested he said i don't believe that has happened yet if they don't have something in place by the start of next week i think we get there bro yeah son you know what you're talking who who is we you ain't you ain't art rooney the second or Mike McCarthy. And last time I heard, you didn't work for the Steelers, bro. Nope. First, the Steelers, they got three other quarterbacks over there in the room right now. And OTAs, they're doing many kind of stuff. They ain't just sitting there doing nothing. You make like, if Aaron don't show, the Steelers are going to forfeit the season.

4:30James Harrison:It's over with. They're going to forfeit the season. All y 'all make like that. Y 'all reporters and analysts and all that stuff. Y 'all ain't got nothing else to do because, like, it's nothing, like, for y 'all to talk about, I guess, other than Aaron. I guess that's the big thing. I mean, I would agree that maybe, like, some fans have run out of patience. But I would have to say that would be like more of like our, sorry to say this, people, uneducated fans that are like out there and just can't like read the room and understand and just, you know, listening to what y 'all write. because y 'all supposed to have some true knowledge of what's going on.

5:17And the reality is, like, the only people that's losing patience

5:22James Harrison:is all of your reporters and analysts that are trying to anticipate and predict Aaron Rodgers, what Aaron Rodgers is going to do. Like, what is Aaron's next? This is what Aaron's going to do. And if he don't do it, they're going to get pissed off. No. They already stated. and that tender was a training camp. He said that man got all the way into a training camp. He got all the way into a training camp. And I think that was on purpose. Why? Why would that be on purpose, Joe? Because you got these young quarterbacks. You got the young quarterback. You got Will Howard. You got Drew Allen. Now you can go ahead and you can see what they look like.

5:59James Harrison:Okay. Yep. Like, what? I mean, I don't know. Like, tell. I could be wrong. What do we know? It wasn't like We had like a GM or something on the show that said, you know, maybe on Tuesday that it's, oh, he said, quote, it's a great time of the year for young guys. What? What? Yeah. What, Joe, you said that? What does that mean, Joe? It's a great time. Oh, that's because that gives his young guys an opportunity to grow, develop, see what they could do. Hey, Tom, why didn't you report that? I don't know because it didn't fit your demographic. I mean, like, you had the words, you know, the actual, I believe it's Omar Khan, right?

6:48James Harrison:GM Omar Khan. That's who we talked to on Tuesday. I'm just trying to make sure. That's who we talked to. All right. So we're going to do this. We're moving on. We're not going to listen to anybody else talking about Aaron Rodgers because it's all opinion-based. And we know right now nothing's going to happen until at least training camp. So until A-Rod signs the contract, we know what it is. Right now, we're doing everything they got to do to work the young boys. They're getting all those reps and OTAs. That same time, they don't come. Sometimes they just don't come to OTAs. Like, that's not mandatory.

7:22James Harrison:When you know what's going on, you know your vibe, you get there, you're going to come and you're going to perform. Training camp legitimately is when it is. OTAs for sure. I would want people to be there. A thousand percent. You want your guys. You want to get growing. A-Rod's a different dude. He didn't do it last year. He didn't go. Probably doesn't go to OTAs all the time. You talk about the knowledge of the playbook. He'll learn that playbook. He's seen all the playbooks. He knows all the routes, all the combinations. He's another coach on the field. So him being able to get into the feel of it is going to be a lot quicker than a rookie or a second-year guy that doesn't know schemes, hasn't played in the NFL, doesn't know what's going on.

7:59James Harrison:So for him, right now with the Steelers, keep doing what you're doing, developing our young dudes, trying to get them ready to play. A-Rod, hopefully he signs before training camp. He's on his own time. We know what it is. But when he gets out there, he's a pro's pro. He's going to do nothing but trying to get right, get everybody together. So I understand that. But the Steelers, they already, they know what it is. They know who they're dealing with. They're not the media just trying to, oh, what's going on A-Rod? They're chilling. They got a plan. They're growing, developing their young dudes.

8:29James Harrison:And the thought of A-Rod coming, but when he gets here, they know he's able to jump on and get moving quick. there's not no lot of load with A-Rod we got we know exactly what's going on we know where it stands we gotta get the defense we gotta get these young quarterbacks we gotta make sure everybody knows what's going on on the team now cause when A-Rod gets here he's it's not like we gonna pull an A-Rod along no no no A-Rod's gonna be fine he's gonna be look here look here Joe look here Joe you know I like to think what up and I've just been thinking that what if you know I'm just like I told you my mind goes everywhere what if distillers are making a offer or made an offer to keep the communication together keep it up and going and

9:22James Harrison:that's in the process just to you know keep everything cordial it's not a definite that they want him back or it's not a definite that they don't want him back and maybe they're in the process of trying to see what they have at their quarterback position and to see if maybe they have what they they need already and this is a safety net so to speak that they will use if it becomes necessary through the process, which is why they tendered him like they did because he couldn't go nowhere after the season started. So he would have no one left but them to negotiate with. And now, again, as I said before, I don't think Aaron plays for what the offer is.

10:24James Harrison:But if they get to a situation where they're kind of unsure, they can maybe sweeten the offer and then get him to come in and sign it sooner. That's just me thinking a lot. You know, I don't know. I'm just looking. I'm looking every direction. You know what I'm saying? Always looking every direction, Joe. What we going to do, though? We're going over here to this Browns schedule. Yes, that's what we going to do. Joe. Yes, sir. Tell me about this Browns schedule. Week one, Joe. Jacksonville. Number one week of schedule in the league. Yes. I'm excited. What you got? At Jacksonville. We spent our first two weeks in Florida.

11:02James Harrison:Come on. Come on. What you got? What you got? What you got? What you got? What you got right there, Joe? We got this. We got this. Okay. I got us. I got us winning, beating Jacksonville. You got y 'all beating Jacksonville. Okay. Okay, Joe. First game of the season. First one. I'm going to write this down, damn. Okay. Okay. Now, what you got on today? Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay. Okay. We may lose to Tampa Bay. Okay. Yeah. You know, we may lose. Okay. Right there. We want to win Carolina Panthers. Okay. We're going to, we're going to, we're going to beat the Panthers. Okay. So right now we are right now.

11:43James Harrison:Okay. Thursday night football versus the Steelers. This might, this is going to be the one of the Steelers. This might be, this is going to be a Steelers game right here. So we're two and two. Okay. Two and two. Okay. Jets got them out the way. You're going to get the Jets out. I got you. Okay, I'll go with that. I'll go with that. I'll go with that. I'll go with that. First one. We got Baltimore. Baltimore at the crib. Baltimore at the crib. Week six, we got Baltimore. Okay. Wow. Got Tennessee next.

12:21James Harrison:Titans. Matter of fact. Matter of fact. I'm going to go back I'm going to take I'm going to take the Ravens we're going to win that we're winning that and we're going to beat we're going to beat the Titans too, 5-2 Steelers you're beating the Titans and you're beating Baltimore and Tennessee well, alright honestly

12:51James Harrison:I'm just asking questions I'm just making sure I'm going to make sure I got this right, Joe so we over here right now on week 8 You back in Pittsburgh.

17:38James Harrison:So we won the second. You go split at our house? That's crazy. Okay I'm gonna Go ahead I'm gonna work it down I'm gonna work it down This is your stuff With your team Anyway Let's go ahead to nine Go to week nine New Orleans Joe Saints Matter of fact Saints No The Saints We gonna beat Beat the Saints Okay you gonna beat the Saints Lose to Houston Lose to Houston Okay You gotta buy a week there Okay Yep. So what are we right now? It don't matter what you are. Just keep going. You got Vegas next. Beating Vegas. You got Atlanta. No, sorry. You got Cincinnati. Cincinnati. We probably, we might lose this one.

18:30James Harrison:Okay. And then you got Atlanta. Beating Atlanta. Beating New York. Losing to the Ravens. We're about to coach. Beating the Colts. What it look like right now? I don't care. You got one game left. Cincinnati. At Cincinnati. It's depending on what we need for the playoff position. Well, if y 'all need to win, y 'all go win. That sound like you. We might be resting.

19:07James Harrison:We might be resting. Huh? You don't like it? Yeah, you don't like it. 11? Y 'all got 11 wins already, Joe. You ain't going to be able to rest because we going to have 13. That's 11? Okay. Honestly, honestly, when I'm just picking it out, going like that, I really like us at that's a lot. 10 wins for real. 10 wins for real. Somehow, one of those, I'm like 10. Hell no, Joe. 10 wins. Oh, you got 10 wins? 10 wins and seven losses? That's not crazy. So 10 to 7, that's your record. That's what you're going with. 10 and 7. Because I might have mixed up a little one or two. Yeah, still is. Yes. Okay. You know, I mixed those up for sure.

19:52James Harrison:You know, I think the first one, y 'all might, y 'all probably win tonight. You don't, I don't know. We're going to split. Hey, Joe. I just know we're going to split. I just know we're going to split it. I don't know how we're going to split it. Yeah, I'm just trying to figure it out.

20:05They got y 'all, they said from this, the weakest schedule in the league,

20:11James Harrison:They got y 'all at six or seven games winning. Six or seven games? That's – listen, that's fine. We could have – we should have won eight last year. I got – we could have won eight last year, flukishly. Missing stuff in the end zone. That's part of what they – that's part of the football. But we got the ball going our way this time. We got better offense. We got better offensive line. We got a whole other year in. Our defense is still nice. Special teams now, we're going to put Casey Concepcion back there. Please do punt return and kick returns. Get the ball in his hands. Our special teams wasn't doing that well last year with our defense balling like this.

20:54James Harrison:Oh, your special teams were selling, and your defense was selling sometimes, too. Sometimes, that's what I'm saying. The same thing you're talking about, I'm going to say, if the best case scenarios with those players that we have on the Steelers, I mean, on the Browns defense and the players that we have now on the Browns offense that has been subpar, subpar. Like, give us a real live team where we can actually go out there. Let's score 30 a game. Let's score 30 in the game. Let's score 23. Let's just walk around, walk in there. Three touchdowns. Not too much to ask. Let's do that. And our defense holds it down.

21:26James Harrison:Special teams does what they got to do. Like, our team, they look at the Browns crazy because last year, special teams wasn't that good. But our defense is always on point. Not always. defense has been solid they've been solid no question but you said always no they sold a couple times they sold a couple times where I thought I could I could buy and they sold on me yeah yes but this year is when I'm talking best case scenarios that's what I heard through you we went Steelers went 8-0 off the rip you got 13-3 me having 10-7 I don't think it's crazy I'm just saying Joe Sounds crazy to me. We sound like Browning to me.

22:09James Harrison:It's going to be depending on these division games and how we pop off, if we're going to get into the playoffs or not. Because I'm like, the Steelers, obviously. I'm like, the Steelers are going to beat the Ravens, beat them up both times, beat up the Bengals both times, split it with the Browns, so y 'all are automatically in. Oh, my God. I'm going to get that. You know what I'm saying? Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. What's up? You. I'm not talking crazy. How many times y 'all beating the Ravens? And how many times y 'all beating the Bengals? Listen, I'm not talking about that. We beat them before.

22:49James Harrison:That's all that matters. I don't have the exact number of times. Joe, ain't we going through telling me what games you go win and lose? I think that's what we was doing. Ain't that what we doing? I'm lost. If I'm wrong. Oh, I thought you was talking about. Is that what I was asking? I thought you was talking about. I thought you was talking about in the history. I'm just asking where you see the wins at right now. I don't care about history. You got a new coach. I got a new coach. You got a new staff. We got a new staff. Yes. Tell me. And that's why I like it. Who you stomping on? 10 to 7? 11 to 6?

23:27James Harrison:What we talking about, Joe? You stomping on somebody? We did. at Jacksonville does concern me to start off the season. They're not a bad team at all. They're going to be out there ready. So I want to see how we start. Damn, you're going back through the whole schedule now, huh? No, no, no. I'm just trying to, I was trying to figure out where I thought we was going to get them, make sure I wanted to know where we was going to get them exact wins and losses. Jacksonville, that one kind of scares me a little bit. But you said the exacts. So that win ain't exact no more. The exact win we're going to get for show.

24:04James Harrison:I'm counting the shows. Week three, Carolina for show. Week five, Jets for show. Week seven, Tennessee for show. Week nine, New Orleans for show. By week, win for show. The fuck is that? That don't go on the list. I know. I'm just saying. We ain't playing. So we won. I count that as a dub. Versus the Raiders, dub. Okay. That's week 12. Falcons, dub. New York Giants, week 15, dub. I don't know about that one, but okay. How many is that? That's seven right there. That's seven. And then we got the Colts and the finish the season, last game of the season is the Bengals. So what's that right there?

25:06James Harrison:Damn, that's nine now. That's nine for sure. That's GT. That's nine for sure. That's nine for sure. Record this and make sure y 'all bring this back because that's nine for sure. I'm going to got you nine for sure. Mm-mm-mm. Mm-hmm. Man. man. That's crazy. And that's just only with one division. You counting books that ain't even there, huh? I didn't say the stills. Sometimes you don't pay attention to the table. Maybe you ain't paying attention to the table. Look at the schedule again, Joe. I'm looking right at it. The best part about it is, Debo, the best part about this is we actually get to come and talk about it after it happens.

25:46James Harrison:Week by week. Yes, sir. We're going to be able to sit there and all this that you talk that I'm going to be able to talk about too. And all that boy that you like this, hey Joe, how about you talking about them Jacksonville Jaguars, right? Yeah, I'm going to be sitting right here taking it. In the same way, the game's got to be played, D-Bo. Me and you ain't got no cleats on it. This is true. It's true. It's true, man. The game. All this right now. The game is played by them. I'm speaking for somebody else. Not us. I'm speaking for somebody else to come out there and put their foot well and do what I'm trying to do.

26:19James Harrison:For me, I'm talking for them and they got to go out there and play. I understand what you're saying. But I hope they're listening. I know they're listening. Not real. Scars on your back, bro? That's like slave with a whip type words, bro.

28:50James Harrison:Yeah, he's like speaking. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But not literally. Not literally. Bro, I was about to lose him. I know, for sure. For sure, Trevor. No. You thought they was laughing? No, sir. Oh, he'd have been pulled up. Come on, Deebo. Bro. Okay. What? That whole spot would have been. Come on, D-Bo. They ain't really smacking. Oh, my gosh. That's a little much. That's a little, I don't know, Prime. That's a little much, bro. That's a little much. We got to reword that. Scars on the back, man. We got to reword that. They talking about his son. I understand that, bro, but I ain't never seen somebody put some scars on my son's back, bro.

29:32James Harrison:I had scars on my back, bro. Real life scars in a fight. Like with four or five people, bro. Yeah, that's a real thing. Yeah, they try to jump up on you. No, no, no. Pop! 32:52James Harrison:Cream of chicken soup. Hey, cream. Cream of chicken soup. This is Help From a Hypocrite, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know. Listen to Help From a Hypocrite as part of the My Cultura Podcast Network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman When walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jack at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be? with Diana Mania Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS.

33:32All of a sudden I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive. Wait, what's sex? Dating at 45. How hard can it be? Getting naked at 50 with a new guy.

33:53James Harrison:That one's kind of hard, you know? That's all right. Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter and dive into it unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of My Cultura Podcast Network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Ha! A hundred percent. Oh! Yes. Yes, bruh. Like, that's real. Okay, okay. Devo, trust me. I feel you.

34:28James Harrison:But I'm letting you know, he was speaking in between the lines. Okay, I got you. I got you, bruh. I was trying to figure that one out for a minute. I ain't gonna lie. Yeah. No, you good, brother. Hey, man, we might have to go do something. We might have gone over there, bro. Like, we might have to, yeah, I might have to go ahead and see what Stefanski was talking about, man. Like, I ain't saying, bro. I know. Listen. No. You can't say that, bro. You know what I'm saying? That create a whole different thought in your head, bro. Yeah. See, yeah, you, yep. Yep, you know. Yep, he wasn't there. Oh, shucks, man.

35:07James Harrison:Now I said he plans to travel to Cleveland to meet Munkin. Meet Munkin. He said, I want to meet him because I think it's vital as a coach, not the dad. I can tell you a few things about Shador, how to get him going. That wasn't asked of me a year ago. I understand it. Even a guy like Travis Hunter being drafted to Jacksonville, and I've had him for the last three years. do you think you would want to talk to me to ask me what gets him going and what backs him off? You would want to know that. So I anticipate and I can't wait to have the conversation with Coach Munkin. Joe, do you think that is a good idea?

35:56James Harrison:Yeah, I mean, I don't think it will hurt. I think if the same way when you would go through the draft process, Dion is actually just not his father. He was his coach. So when you want to talk like not like how would you treat your son, that's a whole different hat that he puts on. When you talk about coaching styles, when you get drafted, they do their homework on their coaches. They ask them questions, ask them how they learn, what kind of rubs them the wrong way, the way that they know about their draft picks. They go deep, deep. They ask teachers. You ask people that they knew back in high school.

36:27James Harrison:So it would not be crazy to ask his head coach, but it happens to be his dad. So some people might be a little scared of Deion. They don't want to talk to him. No, that's Shador's dad. Same time as his coach. So if he wants to put that hat on, go ask him, boom, like what things, how does Shador, like just certain coaching questions that he would ask another coach if Shador was coached by somebody else. I think that's not a bad idea. So just I think Coach Tom Monk and being comfortable in his own skin, not being afraid of Coach Prime and be able to ask him something that I think is not a bad question.

37:01James Harrison:It's something that other coaches that they would have probably asked those same questions about the learning techniques. What comes like what rubs in the wrong way? We're rubbing the right way. Yeah, I think that would be something that would have been already asked, to be honest with you, because that's just natural process when you're, you know, when you're looking at selecting a player or trying to get a no player. You ask the people who have been around them the most, who have coached them the most, who have an understanding and idea of, you know, what it is that, you know, motivates them.

37:33James Harrison:You know, what doesn't motivate them? Like you said, what will shut them down? What will build them up? You got to understand that and know that process because everybody's not motivated the same way. Yep. You know, and with him, me and his dad and his coach, it's very, it's very advantageous for them to, you know, to talk to him, I would think, honestly. So, I mean, that's like if a guy was coaching, you know, dude coaching my son. Hell, hey, James, hey, man, tell me what, listen, hell, I'm open book, man. all you got to do is ask me. A thousand percent. I can tell you. A thousand percent. I can tell you.

38:12James Harrison:And it's not. I would think that they were asked about Dylan Gabriel's coaches back in the day too, but you just won't hear about it because it's Deion Sanders. Well, see, they're trying to put so much on, oh, it's prime, it's this, it's this. You know, he feels like he needs to be talking. No, bruh, that's just the process of what it goes through. I'm his coach and his dad. you can't get through the process that I'm his dad to realize that I'm his coach and I have everything that you need plus everything that he done grew up through and how I done raised him what is he talking about I'm with it first call hey Brian tell me about your son easy no question some people don't have I feel like they don't feel as comfortable in their own skin, though.

39:09James Harrison:They feel like, nah, I don't. Yeah, I understand. I don't get to asking their son. You're going to feel like he got to, no, no, no, no. No, ask for knowledge. Ask for information. You don't have to use everything, but you know what I'm saying? It's always good to ask around. Don't feel like you're the smartest person. It's always smooth and ask. No question, bro. I ain't never trying to be the smartest person in the room, baby. I'm the smartest person in the room. I can't do no growth in there, Joe. I can't grow. No. I'm stagnant. I'm stuck. I got to get these people out of here, man. I got to get some more people in here, man.

39:39James Harrison:Or like you said, I got to go to a different room. Something got to happen. They got to go or I got to go. Yep. That's it.

39:50James Harrison:Bruh, we have... What up, Cole? Super Chats. Dude, it's almost 1230. We got Super Chats right here. We got two Super Chats. What up? What up? Dude, it's 1230, bruh. we have pit fan 8-9 8-5-9 $5 said tell him Debo smash mop still a football it's time to get back to telling our opponents that even if you beat us you will remember our names not only will you remember our names you will remember this pain you will feel it it ain't nothing that you gonna have to remember because you gonna wake up with it you go wake up so that you can't is this game really for you do I really want to be here playing the Steelers two times a week no don't send me to Cincinnati don't send me to Baltimore or Cleveland the Steelers are over there mm-hmm yeah nah you gotta have full blown crash outs ready you got to you have to for sure for sure Cover it live.

41:00James Harrison:Now even if you can't. Cover it live back. $10. Go ahead, cover this. She said, Debo and Joe, with three AFC teams like the Steelers, with three AFC teams like the Steelers getting new coaches, can we predict exact wins? I do believe the Browns will be better thanks to their draft picks, but I'm still cautious. Listen, you can predict whatever you want. The question is, can you be right? Yep. Now, everything. Joe can't be because he said 10 or 9. So we know Joe's wrong. Yeah. I'm right. I'm saying. You said 13 and 3. Listen, I'm saying 13-4, worse, 16-2, baby. 13-4. Sorry, 16-1, best. 16-1, best.

42:04James Harrison:Okay. And I'm going, let's see, 8-1. Worst case scenario, we are 8-9. And best case scenario, we are 10-7. Hey, what? Damn, Joe, you told me. Hold up, Joe. Oh, you just dropped to eight because you told me. I said worst case, eight and seven. Best case, best case. Could you, look, you gave yourself three game wiggle room. So let me give myself three game wiggle room. Eight for the least amount of wins and 11 for the most amount of wins. Bruh, what? What? Bruh, we talking about 13 and 16, bruh. You talking about 8 and 11.

42:59James Harrison:You laugh. Go ahead. Go ahead and laugh. Go ahead and laugh. That's all good. But look, I'm being honest about mine. When you come in, we come in here, and y 'all, and the Steelers, end up winning games. Why do you say it like that? Because you keep talking about my Browns. My Browns. There you go. There you go, Chad. When I'm going against you. I'm going to get your skiller. Yeah. This man, Debo. We knew what you was. I'm telling you. We knew what you was when you first drove in. This year, this year, this year, year two of the show is going to be so much fun. Because I know how to get to you now.

43:44James Harrison:I know how to get to you. This is a shame, bro. I swear, man. Listen, bro. I know how to get to you, too. I know where you live. Go Cavs. I know where you live. How about that? Catch me outside. How about that? Hey, chill out, bro. Chill out.

44:03James Harrison:My good man. Come to life, she's back again, man. She said$20. She said, I don't think Dion needs to go on his son's job to talk to his boss. at what point do we realize our children or at what points do we release our children to be grown you can still coach and father your son at the dinner table stay off his job it's a little different right there but that's what i'm saying they gotta still look at deon i understand what She's saying like he has to grow and he has to do all this other stuff. But you're talking about somebody that played the position the best that it has ever been played. And he coached his son from knee high to grasshopper all the way up until college.

44:58James Harrison:Hall of Famer. He has understanding. he sees and knows what's going on because he still does it and coaches it and all that. I'm going to go and get in his ear and say, hey, let me know. Give me some insight on this because I want him to be able to be as successful as you. Like you're talking about. Listen, man. He got a daddy and a coach. and they commingle. And the same way you are able to coach someone, dude, and father someone, man, and you're a father. Like, it's guys that look at coaches as father figures because of that. Because they're just coaching you and you know they care. Like, I got dad that is the coach.

45:53James Harrison:Like, what are we – like, Hall of Famer at that. I'm going to – listen, I'm going to bend your ear, bro. he might be mad at me cause I'ma call him like hey Shador gave me a little attitude today because I said hey what I need to do to get in his ass hey he gonna hate me your dad said no I tell my kids I tell my kids teachers I give them I give them the cell phone I say hey before anything become a problem he come in here he ain't paying no attention, he want to lay his head on the table, whatever that may be. I don't care. Before it even become an issue. If he come in and he really ain't participating like you think he should be, before it even gets to the point of now he laying down in class, now you done called me.

46:42James Harrison:He, you know, he come in class, he don't participate, you know he sleeps half the time, duh, duh, duh. Didn't I tell your ass to call me the first time? First time. Didn't I tell you to call me the first time? I could have nipped this in a bug. It would have been done. It would have only been once. Now, I'm finding out later. So now I'm mad at you. I'm still mad at him, too. But now I'm upset with you because all you had to do was follow the rule. I didn't want to say nothing because, you know, you know, you were probably.

51:47James Harrison:Yes, I was going to whoop his ass. Yes. I was going to do what I needed to do. It wasn't me about me doing it because I was mad or upset. It's called correction. I want him to understand. And you need to be in that same process and the same understanding that, A, if A happens, then B is going to happen. It's not that you upset or mad with him. You are just following through because an idle threat is nothing. It's nothing. You got to follow through. Listen, and I say it right there in front of him too. Hey, here's my number right here. He do anything, anything happen to go down, transpire. Hey, I used to tell the nanny they had.

52:25James Harrison:I said, hey, listen, anything happen, transpire, go down. Hey, let me know immediately. So they let me know the first time. Go ahead. Give him that thought. thought. And then they'd be like, oh my God, I don't want to. Oh my God. I'm not telling him no more. And then by the time they tell me again, it done transpired to where they damn near telling them what they is and ain't going to do. See? I told you. Yeah. Now they're running over you. You scared of one little law. I am not doing this because I want to do it. I'm doing this because I have to do it. It's called discipline. Kids need discipline.

52:59James Harrison:I'm raising two boys that need to become men. I am not about to allow them to do anything that is out of character, especially when you're growing up with everything that I wished I had when I grew up as a kid, and now you don't want or need for anything? And you're privileged at that? I'm sitting here I choke you out. I'm sitting here like this right now, listening to you, because I'm raising two boys and you're trying to raise them to be men and they are consequences for your actions the world out here does not love you they do not love you they will not take care of you they don't care they want you to fail so when you do stuff wrong you're never just gonna walk around my house and you would never get popped upside the head if you didn't deserve to get popped upside the head there's this there's actions there's repercussions for actions everything you just spoke on was how my dad raised me.

53:59James Harrison:You never just doing nothing. You never just going to get, walk my head, oh, what's up? No. You did something stupid. You did something that you needed to be disciplined for. And guess what? You won't do that one again. Because you know, like pops ain't, he's not doing stuff for no reason. Dad's out here trying to raise me. World don't love me. I see people running around. You see that kid right there? I said, yes, he needs to be smacked beside his tail. Like, just because I'm like, that's just, shut up, mom. Whoa. Like, just any of that. there's no, there's no type of time for that. So, you know, just everybody is raising their kids.

54:34James Harrison:Everybody got somebody that's going on and stuff. But when you say what you just said, Debo, I am on the same accord. I'm raising two young gentlemen. Yes. And I got to make sure there's a law. There's a law. No question, man. Listen, it's easier for me to teach you now so that somebody else out there don't teach you the hard way. And now you end up being in jail or somebody takes your life because you don't realize there's repercussions and consequences to your actions. Yes. Like, nah. I'm a disciplined mind now. I'm a disciplined mind now. And even now, dude, I'm like, yo, my son is 18. I'm like, yo, listen, I don't care what happens on the road, what's going down, dude.

55:16James Harrison:If you get stopped by the police, man, and you, he, sometimes he get a little heavy foot. I'll be watching him. I got 360 on him. He get a heavy foot. Hey, slow your ass down. Okay. Slow your ass down. if you get stopped, your job is to get home. I don't care what goes on. I don't care if he called you every name in the book. Do not interact. Yes, sir. No, sir. Your job is to get home. Even if that process is you got to go to jail first to get home. Your job is to get home. Get to jail. We get the bail. You worry about, I know my rights and I know the fuck. No, no, no. Worry about your rights later because if he go and lay your ass down, they go give him the right to do that.

55:56James Harrison:and say he was right. Period. Oh, he was... He could have... No, listen, these cops ain't out here trying to be the world's best MMA fighter and everything else. Listen, just do what they say because I'm going to tell you right now, if I'm a cop and it's mine, man, listen, I'm going to tell you right now, Joe, the reason I ain't a cop is because I'm pulling out the switch as soon as... Listen, it's a van full, okay? It's a minivan. Man, I already look like it's a soccer mom. But she done made a left on red when she couldn't. Okay? Now I got to tell her, loudspeaker, put your hands out the window.

56:39James Harrison:Hey, you heard what I said. Put your hands out the window. Okay? Off the illegal right. Off the illegal left hand. Metals, the better left on red. I can't take no chances, Joe. No. No, no, no, no. Listen, man. Whoever coaching my son, y 'all want to know something, man, come to me, man. I'm going to let y 'all know, man. Listen, I'm going to let you know. I ain't tripping. I ain't tripping. I ain't tripping at all. I'm going to tell you what's motivating, what's getting going. You know what I'm saying? This coach can tell you the same thing, but I don't think he's going to have the intricate details that I do.

57:18James Harrison:I'm going to let you know. I'm going to let you know, baby. Yeah. Prime that's what you do baby Munkin get Prime a call I'm just letting you know he got the information you're looking for we got another one we got another one we got$5 from Mother Love Two Willers $5 says please go watch the whole show it was very good G Bush did a good job who is G Bush We don't know. I don't know. Coming to light. She back again. Coming to light. What's she talking about? She said, my daughter is an engineer, just like her father is an engineer. He doesn't go to her job and talk to her boss. Sigh. Whatever. Sigh.

58:12James Harrison:Whatever. Each is home. Who is the Falcons quarterback against the Steelers protocol on deck? Get the blue tent ready.

58:29but you think listen my thing is this your daughter as an engineer coming to life and um

58:36James Harrison:his son as a football player two totally different careers i don't know how much uh motivation i need to do for an engineer that's why people don't tune in to watch somebody engineer that's why it's not multi-billion dollar organizations corporations tv industries to watch somebody engineer. It is to watch somebody play football. I'm not saying her job is less than. I'm just telling you as far as it is to the people that want to pay to watch it, it is. I wish my sons was an engineer. I wish they would do great things like that. I would love for all that to be the case. But when it comes down to it, a coach that coaches motivates, you have to motivate players.

59:19James Harrison:I don't care what you do. if you can't motivate your players you can't get them to get to their potential then you have a problem and then when you're a great coach you get them to play above their potential i had great coaches dick lebow great coach keith butler great coach james harrison was supposed to be a perennial special teams player all his life never start never start i ended up being a starter I ended up being a pro boarder, AR pro, defensive player of the year because I was coached beyond my potential by great coaches. You don't get somebody that's going to coach you so great that you're just going to be a better, you know, engineer.

1:00:05James Harrison:How do you motivate? Two different fields. I just want people to start looking at the Deion and Shador situation not so negatively and more positive. Like, if it's Archie Manning and somebody hits up Peyton Manning with Eli. Come on, man. You know what it is. Stop playing. That's a good thing. That's a good thing. You know what it is, man. Stop playing, man. You know what it is. Stop. You got Peyton Manning. You got Eli. I'm like, you got Deion with his son. You know what I'm saying? He's actually a real coach. You know what I'm saying? It's just a Deion thing. It's got people like, I'm like, man, that's a coach though.

1:00:40James Harrison:It's still Deion the coach. If anybody else was the coach, then it's not as bad as it, y 'all. People try to make it seem sometimes. So, I mean, he doesn't need to be there. I could feel what some people like. Oh. Shador, he's wanting to bring more attention. Like, does he need his dad there to like always like hold his hand? I'm like, he doesn't need his dad there. His dad's trying to stay out of the way. Like, Shador wants to do it on his own accord. You know what I'm saying? is like, it's not. I just try to not make it as a, like, Chidor needs his dad coming off there and rubbing his, like, making sure everything is on it.

1:01:13James Harrison:I'm like, no, he doesn't need it, but that's his dad. He loves his son. He wants him to be successful. Man, all he is saying is like, yo, you want to have some insight, holler at me. That's it, bro. That's it. It's not like he's saying, hey, man, you need to talk to me because you don't know how to do this or do that. No, listen, man, you want a little insight? You didn't draft him. The dude before drafted him. You go through that draft process. You're supposed to be talking to the people and doing all that other stuff. And then Barry is still there, of course. I would assume that he had those conversations with Deion.

1:01:45James Harrison:I don't know. I don't know. But with Todd Monkman being the head coach, Barry is not going to be the person there coaching him every day. It's going to be Monkman. He's going to be there motivating, doing whatever it is, how that process is that you build your players. So why not? like why not get a little inside what we're talking about yep mother love to Willis is back oh G Bush I guess that's where Prime did the show that interview that we're talking about shout out to G Bush look here baby we want to thank you guys who we Joe is 47 we want to thank you guys for joining us on this episode of Debo and Joe please make sure you like download where you get your show Joe yo tap in with us on Monday same time same place when I show y 'all them cabs you know what I'm saying headed to that good old Eastern Conference finals they about to get pop they about to get pop you know it tonight we out
