In short
The hosts debate NFL roster decisions and quarterback futures, focusing on the Dallas Cowboys releasing QB Joe Milton III for Sam Howell, and whether the Cleveland Browns should pursue Milton. They also discuss Odell Beckham Jr getting his No. 13 back, plus a quick Steelers defensive scheme debate (4-4-3 vs modern formations) and a Brandon Aiyuk contract/option-bonus situation with the 49ers.
Guest backgrounds
No guests appear in this episode. The show is hosted by “Deebo” and “Joe” (two co-hosts).
Key claims
- Cowboys releasing Milton “doesn’t make sense” because he’s talented and cheap, and Milton could be valuable trade/backup depth.
- Another theory: Dallas kept Howell because his experience better fits the offense and avoids scheme disruption if Dak Prescott gets hurt.
- Browns should not replace their current QBs without clear improvement; Milton would only matter if he beats out Shador Sanders (and they still want consistent QB play).
- Aiyuk won’t receive a $24.9M option bonus because he’s on the reserve/left squad list, not the active roster.
Notable examples
- Milton preseason: 29/43, 392 yards, 4 TDs (vs Howell 27/40, 314 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT).
- Beckham reclaiming No. 13 after being on a practice squad.
- Steelers: hosts argue a true 4-4-3 can’t work in today’s passing-heavy NFL.

So let's start our days together with a moment of calm that's just for you. Listen to Waking Up With Ryan on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Listen, Joe. What's up, coach? Did you see that they went on here and the Cowboys released Joe Milton, the third and named Sam Howell, their starting quarterback. The Dallas Cowboys have weighed, sorry, the backup quarterback. The Cowboys have weighed Jim Milton the third to make room, they said, for a running back.
3:10Imari DeMarcado? Yeah. DeMarcado? Sam Howell would be the Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback to Dak Prescott. uh joe milton dude his last outstanding preseason period they said it was 29 of 43 392 yards four touchdowns for comparison how stats were 27 of 40 314 three touchdowns one intercession a few years ago joe a few years ago some felt joe should have been competing with Drake May for New England's starting job. Joe. Yo. You believe they released Joe because they didn't want Dak upset. They wanted to keep a happy house. They didn't want too much noise over there. What you believe, Joe?
4:06James Harrison:I don't know. This one doesn't really make any sense to me, especially because he's so, you got him for a low deal. He's actually a really, really, really talented quarterback. Dak Prescott's on your squad. I understand that. I mean, it just feels off. You can have him for trade value. You got Dak. If he gets injured, you have him as a backup quarterback. And people around the league, quarterback is the premier position. So that's why when we're keeping four, you got teams that are keeping four, and you're getting rid of one that actually still hasn't shown, still has potential to be a starting quarterback.
4:42James Harrison:You don't know. So with him getting rid of them, it didn't really make any sense to me. What do you think? Why do you think they did it?
4:55Listen, I would think like maybe it could possibly be that, you know, like it was Dallas and, you know, they wanted to. But if it was anywhere but Dallas, because you know good and well, Jerry Jones, he don't give a flip about your flip. Okay? He don't give a flip about what? Hey, don't forget, Dak got the job because Tony Romo got hurt now. Tony Romo got hurt. Dak went in there and played well. Yes. And Romo never got the job back. Okay? Yeah. He said Dak got a good hand. He said, Dak got a good hand and we're going with it. That was his public statement, okay? And he talks publicly about his players, dude.
5:46He had criticized them and all that, including Dak. Like, bro, I'm just trying to tell you, dude, even after the final preseason finale, Jerry had said about the quarterback situation between Milton and Howe How that he said is he said that's one of the things that they may have to actually have to backup quarterbacks. And then it wasn't until I guess they needed a running back that they actually released him. So, you know, they just I think they kept how because that big thing that everybody is harping on that experience be us and him having experience. I think that's what it really came down to is they probably felt more comfortable with his experience.
6:34And when you look at it, looking at how, you know, they do offense and that quarterbacks and how the offense is ran. I think how it was more adapted to that style of offense. That way they wouldn't have to change too much of the offensive scheme if, you know, Dak ended up getting hurt versus if they had Joe Milton in there. I mean, that's just what I think. Like I said, if it was anywhere else but Dallas and Jerry Jones, I would have said maybe it's a possibility he ain't want to upset the quarterback. Jerry don't care about none of that.
7:13James Harrison:Jerry don't care about none of that, man. Exactly right. Y 'all kick rocks. I feel like Jerry Jones is more going to be on the Bill Belichick, where he was trying to keep Jimmy G as the backup quarterback. He don't care. The owner, Robert Kraft, wanted to get rid of him so Tom Brady wouldn't feel no backup pressure. It's not about backup pressure. It's about keeping your team as best as your team could be, having as many good players on the squad just in case something goes wrong. So for me, I'm always looking at it like, if you have good backup quarterback that you got for the low that's on your squad, keep him just in case something happens, trade value.
7:47James Harrison:Then if you think that releasing him just makes no sense to me because always you're trying to figure out how you can add to your team, make your team better. Does other teams value him if I don't and then I can get something for him? So it's just the releasing the part that I'm like, dude, you could have him because he's of value. He's balled out in the preseason. Other teams need quarterbacks badly. Then you can go see how much y 'all really want him. You know what I'm saying? Right. The man only, his contract this year is only, well, if he clears waivers, it's only a million. Taking that. A million and 75.
8:23Taking that. Right. But if you taking that, just as your Browns, the Browns fans, they, I guess they kind of, you know, they kind of was like, yo, I guess a cat wrote some goofy stuff. And he said, with Joe Milton waived by the Cowboys, many are hoping Cleveland could be his next home. The Browns currently have Watson, Sanders, Green on the active roster, Dylan sitting on IR with a back injury. Joe, if you are the Browns, do you go and get Joe Milton?
9:13James Harrison:I mean, if we like him more than... Look, it's always seeming like I'm trying to knock Dylan or trying to be disrespectful, but I'm like, if we're going to go with... He's on IR. He's not even taking up a spot right now, bro. If we're trying to get another quarterback on our team, I think at the end of the day, if it's either... The Browns are... always going to be looking. But the article also said they going to let Shador go for Joe. See, they're bugging right there. They think they should let Shador go for Joe. There they go. Why they got to be talking about Shador? When we're talking about our quarterback situation, we still haven't let Shador play with the weapons and give him a fair shot to get out there and see what we can do now with the starters, with the new line, with the new weapons.
10:05James Harrison:So that was the preseason. We got Deshaun Watson, obviously he's on the team. Shador's here. We got Dylan on the IR and we got Taylor Green. If we're thinking at the end of the day, Dylan or Taylor, I'm still rocking with Shador because I'm thinking we're still going to have to give him a shot. We're still keeping Deshaun on the roster. If Joe Milton, for sure, like now get on the squad, you're going to have to compete. I'm not giving Shador anything. I want the best quarterback to play. So if Joe Milton can come here and beat out Shador and he looks like a better quarterback when he's out there, start him.
10:44James Harrison:Because this is my thing, Debo. I don't care who it is. I'm not there. Oh, Joe, you just want Shador because you want Shador. No, I think I like Shador. I like the way he throws the ball. But I'm still going to be a critic of is he just sometimes wasting time in the pocket. But he's been looking better with that, being able to observe. don't get your balls batted down at the line all the time. So I'm not just here just being, no, Shadour, take it, take it. No, I want the Cleveland Browns to have the best quarterback that we can possibly have to lead our team for a while. So not just, oh, no, you can start for this game and then no, no, no.
11:19James Harrison:No, I don't want you looking over your shoulder because I want you to be good. When you have a good starting quarterback like Patrick Mahomes, like Tom Brady, like Aaron Rodgers, like Ben, they're not looking over their shoulder. the only way you're looking over your shoulder is if you get hurt because you're playing good football. And that's all that I want. When the quarterback gets in there, don't be playing terrible. Don't hurt the team. Don't throw picks. Lead the team away a good quarterback should look. So I'm like, if Deshaun doesn't do it, cool, because you're not leading the team. You're not a good quarterback.
11:47James Harrison:If Shadouba to get in there and still start throwing picks and be looking crazy, I'm like, I'm not seeing growth. But if I see growth, good. Let's see if you can win games. If Joe Mixon ended up beating out Shador and is out there and balling, play. I don't care what your name is. I'm more like what Coach T would say, nameless gray faces. That just means that people are in their position doing their job. I don't care what your name is. I just want you to be looking and be able to do your job every time. Know all checks. You know when we do the calls and you watch the film after the game, did you get a check or did you get a minus?
12:22James Harrison:Did you do your job or you didn't? So everyone, I just want you to steady, do your job, be consistent. And we haven't had consistent quarterback play. So that's why we're always looking to get a quarterback that can come in there and do that. So I'm not trying to do anything with giving anybody anything. But if Joe Milton is better than Shador Sanders, put him in the game and play good football so the Browns can win. I don't care who you are.
12:50Joe, I thought Kansas City picked up Milton. Did Kansas City pick up Milton?
12:55James Harrison:Did they? Well, no, no. Somebody tell me. But anyway. If they did, smart. Here's the problem. Here's the problem, Joe. What? The problem with this article is that they want to focus on Shador. And they're saying the Browns could consider picking up Milton, you know. I think it's just crazy talk. Because the biggest problem in claiming Milton is what that would actually make me think. And like the Browns are thinking is that they don't believe that any quarterback on their roster right now has the ability to be that guy. because you're going to tell me you're going to bring in a guy from off the street that has never even played in your offense, hasn't been in the scheme, knows nothing about it, and he's going to be able to bring him up to speed, teach him, have an understanding, and then a chance to play or maybe start because the guys you have there aren't actually the guys that you think can be the guy or the quarterback for your organization.
14:15Now, Cleveland, this is not going to happen. And if they do this, they are 100 % saying the quiet thing out loud by picking him up and bringing him in you are saying you do not have the quarterback that you want as that guy or think you have the quarterback that could be that guy on your roster right now no obviously like I mean
14:49James Harrison:the thing is you can't hand the keys to Shador because how he played in his rookie season so just from looking at it it could be like no I like that doesn't let he just wowed everybody He looks like he has potential. He can, the arm strength. I like the way he throws the ball. He releases and all that. Just the pocket presence. I need to get that up to speed. So if you have better talent around you, people are catching the ball. You're able to, offensive coordinator getting you to be able to just, you know what I'm saying, get through your progressions on time. It looks like it's a possibility he can still has a chance.
15:19James Harrison:So with him, I'm like, I still see the chance. With Deshaun, I don't know. we don't, both of them in the preseason didn't look like neither one of them stole the show. Neither one of them stole the show. So I'm still like, okay, they're not looking like crazy quarterbacks yet. So we still, as a Browns fan, you want to have a quarterback that you feel is elite. Like you obviously want a franchise. So when you're looking at them, they're not screaming franchise quarterback to me. You know what I'm saying? And neither was Dylan Gabriel. And I haven't seen Taylor Green, but if he hasn't beat them out, I don't think he's screaming franchise to me yet either.
15:55James Harrison:So them trying to go and figure out quarterback is the position where we need. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinheiro and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here.
16:33It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
17:16Everyone has a good time and no one gets mad at their publicist for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman. Not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head? How about we flip the script? What if the surprise woman who actually you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird? Adam Scott. This entire time, you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never expect. Let go of that. I have. I would never set expectations for something like that to happen. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it.
17:57I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah. It's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you. I was like, is that weed? Nope. It's fragile masculinity. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is. You know what I mean? Like, they're like, oh, what's a state?
18:22James Harrison:Everyone's so dumb except for you. And fake. Right, fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my pipe. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. 19:48Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything. What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area the first thing you see when it pops up is pioneers in appalachia but they weren't just planting houses we need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the christian way of life stop right there is that normal a podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment.

You want to have a quarterback that's franchised, that you're like, look, give him$60 million a year, and everybody's like this. Yep, he deserves it because he's going to go out there and lead you for years to come. We don't know if we have that yet. I just see Shador with talent around with the line, give him the weapons.
22:14James Harrison:It's a chance. You don't know. The same way with Sam Darnold, Daniel Jones. They're young. This was only his first year. Let's see what you can do. So I'm not going to throw you out the way and trade you for somebody else because I drafted you. You still haven't had your chance to really have weapons around you and see what can you do. So I'm still watching you, still critiquing you, not handing you nothing. So bring in competition. Bring in Joe Milton. if we don't play the well this year, draft a quarterback high. Like, it's not your job, but you can make it yours if you play well. You can't bring in Joe right now without it being thought that your quarterback that you want is not on your roster.
22:51You can't bring him in right now because you already put Dylan on the IR reserved to return. That's a spot that you got to come up with. Now you're telling me you're going to take a spot. That means you got to cut somebody. We might let him. And cut somebody. That's four. That's five quarterbacks. Dude, I'm done.
23:07James Harrison:No, we're not keeping all those quarterbacks there. By this time, I'm sorry. Either tail him. I like it. I don't want to have to get. But Dylan might have to go. Right. Yeah. I don't know. I think they're holding on to Dylan as maybe, you know, possibly. I don't know. He balled out on that last one. He did. He did. And that was a lot of smart decisions. I didn't see any passes. go down the field. It was a lot of good, you know, smooth, moving, rollouts, boom, you know what I'm saying, get the tight end to the flat, get in the end zone. I like that. That's not bad. But I need to see the passes going down the field, some posts, some fade balls, some deep overs.
23:53James Harrison:Like, come on, Debo.
23:58They can't bring him in, I'm telling you.

24:00James Harrison:It's going to destroy your whole little locker room. You don't have to bring him in. I'm just saying we're always keeping our eyes open for a potential that we feel like somebody can be a franchise quarterback. Because right now, I mean. Y 'all looking for anybody that's a quarterback. Y 'all been strong. Not anybody. Not anybody. Y 'all looking for any quarterback. Not anybody. Not anybody. I like. Any quarterback that go out there and throw for 300 yards. Y 'all like, hey man, take Greenville over here. Nah. Nah. Milton is a little bit different because I do like him. I do like him. Okay Joe Whatever you say man I'm just saying man It is what it is man Listen your boy Brandon Ayou Mr.
24:44John Lynch Of the 49ers The GM He said he will not see a penny Of his 24.9 million Option bonus Because he is not officially On the active roster Joe listen to what he had to see and then john uh brandon iuk is due a big uh option bonus on september 1st who is that brandon
25:10James Harrison:iuk yeah does that apply because he's on the reserve left squad list or do you have to make a move before no nothing changed there he's on the region reserve less left squad list and as such it's you know he's just kind of not on our roster so so anything that he might be due yeah he doesn't get paid. Correct.
25:33Yo. Yes. Yo, look here, man. I guess since December, Ayuk has been placed on an IR left squad list following an extended dispute with San Francisco. After tearing his ACL MCL during the 2024 season, he skipped the team's mandatory rehabilitation sessions, prompting the 49ers to void his contract guarantee. I'm taking my ass in there to get that. He tripping. I'm going to do whatever little garbage stuff they got me to do. But, Joe, with the thing everybody want to know, why don't they just cut demand and move on?
26:16James Harrison:Debo, it starts to get to the point where, end of the day, I mean, they could release him. I don't know why they're not, but I think they just let him know. Go ahead. they can't release that man go ahead you go first they could release him you go first i guess they could release him here's the problem we're releasing you could cut him and as soon as you cut him he can immediately go sign with another team understand that and you get nothing for him okay but i don't know who's going to pick him up but you're still going to keep that because you want to keep those rights you don't you don't gave this man some money So, you know, by not cutting him, you still keep the rights to him and possibly somebody could give you something for him in exchange for them, for you allowing him to go there and so on and so forth.
27:11Like, that's I think that's the big reason why they won't cut him, because when it comes down to it, like they don't have to pay anything. They ain't got to give him nothing like you. You voided your contract. You lost your guarantee. so why would we release you? And it don't cost us nothing. You're not even costing us a roster spot.
27:31James Harrison:Debo, this is what, you're exactly right. The only reason why I was saying that it's almost basically, to this point, only reason why they're keeping him is because, like you said, they have his rights. And it's basically like, you can't go nowhere. Like, the way you kind of left this thing right here, you think it's sweet, we're not going to give you the$24 million, we've had you under contract, We gave you 2024, we gave you 24, then we gave you 23. Right now your guarantee was out of that, was 75 million. You're owed 24 this year. You're not getting a penny off of that because now your guaranteed is up.
28:08James Harrison:So now we've paid you already. Those last two years we gave you$47 million before this year you thought was going to be your last 24 to get your guaranteed. You think now you can? No, we're not giving you that. We're still going to have your rights because this is the part two, Debo. he's made himself look, so when I say that they can probably, he could release him now, you look so crazy now though that when they do finally cut you, do you think that you would do with the commanders, all of that stuff was going on? Teams have been seeing you under their contract where you act as if you can do whatever you want, but you're still under contract with them and getting your money voided from this$24 million that you could have just went in there.
28:49James Harrison:I'm going in there, like you said, If you think it's crazy treatment, you're under contract where you can go in there, get your treatment, and you're going to get your$24 million. Like, that right there is a little ridiculous. Like, I hear everything, like, oh, no, they won't know about that. Go in there. Figure out what their situation is. Talk to these people. Get that 24. Make sure that you're taking care of doing your ones and twos. And you can still go do your stuff. But you have to report. You can't go AWOL on the people that are giving you that the last two seasons paid you$47 million and they're about to pay you another$24 million happily if you just pull up to the building.
29:29James Harrison:Like, so that's where it's like they're going to keep your rights because now you've been, you went AWOL, we have you under contract. And not under contract like Joey Porter Jr., not a$4 million contract where you can't go nowhere and it's just, it is a business and that's where it's going to be. No, we've been giving you$24 million first, and then we gave you$23 million. And then this year, we're going to give you$24 million. It's not peanuts. That's real bread. And now you're acting so disrespectful. And when we talk about players doing what they're supposed to do, staying out the way, not causing drama, you got a man right here.
30:02James Harrison:And when you think now that you're bigger than the game, no, you're not. Because they can find another brand than IU. There's plenty of other wide receivers that are coming in, and they're doing it for the low. Because when you sign with them, your first year you made seven. Your next year you made one. Your next year you made 1.7. The next year you made 2.3. So you were playing not for that much. You were playing for around$12 million. Four years, your first four years, you made$12 million. $3 million a year. Playing, balling, doing what you got to do, staying out the way. Then you get that contract, and now they start paying you way more.
30:35James Harrison:Now it's$20,$30 million a year. You're expected to be a pro, still give that same level of production, and they gave you the guaranteed money. So it's not a game no more. Nobody in this NFL is going to be playing with somebody that's going to embarrass the franchise, not only after making$3 million a year for your first four years, but we give you$23 million. We give you$24 million. And then you go act nuts? Oh, no. It's not a game. And teams aren't playing. And I feel like this is more personal. We gave you$47 million. You're not going to go play for anybody else. I know you think we're going to have you sitting right here looking nuts.
31:10James Harrison:because you skipped out on us. You think that you just going to leave us and then go play for somebody else? If anybody else wants any part. You think you going to do this to me? To me? Man. You told me in the video, you talking about something. I told that man he tried to come to my house. Crazy. I told that man he tried to come. Man, if you don't get off my front porch, you don't get off my porch. He talking crazy to him. So this is like, general, it's like this. You saw that as we gave you 47, you're wilding, and it was 60 all up for his first contract, 12, and he's back. In his first one, two, three, four, five, six season, he made$60 million that they paid him already.
31:46James Harrison:And they're like, you're not about to get this other 24 to make it 80. 84 million? No, sir. We're chilling. You ain't did nothing for me. You ain't did nothing for me. You making fun of me. Hey, you want to make, listen, Joe. I'm going to tell you, the Rams just announced they have 11 captains in 2026. Have you ever had 11 captains? Never. Never. Listen, listen. They got Matthew Stafford, the running back, Kyron Williams, receiver, Devontae Adams. You got the tight end, Tyler Higby. Center, Coleman, Shelton. Defensive end, Miles Garrett, of course. defensive tackle Kobe Turner linebacker Nate Landman you got Trent McDuffie the corner Quentin Lake safety you got the long snapper Joe Cardone and hell they ain't even got Puka and AD on there yet hey hey Joe why we got why we got 11 captains Joe what's going on here they did they feel like hey you know what it is Joe here I'm gonna tell you what it is Joe This is what it is.
33:02I'm telling this to the other 31 teams out there. This is what it is, Joe. They got 11 captains, Joe, because they want to make sure that all 12, 11, it might be 13 at the end of it, I don't know yet, don't know yet, that every guy gets his face on the game of whatever it is. You know how they show the captains? They want to make sure, like, you see, these are all the people that dominated and went and ran the NFL in 2026 and went undefeated and won the Super Bowl. That's what it is. I'm just telling all the 31 other teams. That's why they got 11 captains, about to add 13. Y 'all ain't never seen nothing like this.
33:47Why? Because they want to make sure they put their guys out there and let everybody see, like, yo, this is the base of this team.
33:55James Harrison:This is the foundation. shit. Debo, they got to, they got to, this is what I'm saying. It kind of takes almost away the value of a captain. In my opinion. Hey, because listen. It's hard to pick captain. Who ain't a captain? If you ain't a captain, you shit right now. You ain't even made captain? Come on. Hey, how you ain't made captain? How you ain't made captain? How you ain't made captain, bae? Captain for me, bruh, is really like, when you go, So it could be three captains, or you could go three or six max. Three or six max. Three. Three. You got to go one on offense, one on defense, one on special teams.
34:40James Harrison:I was saying maxes if you did two each. If you went two on offense, two on defense, two on special teams. That's the only – no, no, one on special teams. Yo, when I was getting elected captain, man. That's tough. I wouldn't go to the coin toss. So they wouldn't let me be captain no more. So Mike T, he was like, if you ain't going to the coin toss, I can't have you captain. I'm like, man, I don't want to go out there and shake their hands, man. I don't care. Don't make me captain. You was good on it. I wanted to be captain. I wanted to be captain. I wanted to go out there and represent my squad.
35:17I did it. I did it. I just never went out to the coin toss. I was captain for like a year or two. And then after he realized I wasn't going to go to the coin toss, he's like, man, come on, man. I'm like, dude, I'm not going to the coin toss. What am I going to shake that hand for? You know, that was back when I was, you know, that other dude. Oh, yeah, yeah.
35:28James Harrison:No, no, no, no. You ain't want to know. I don't want to shake your hand. I'm trying to break you. Man, I got this dark visor on, man. Ain't nothing to be talking about. It was before the dark visor, Joe. It was before the dark visor, Joe. That was just eyes just staring at you right here, just looking at you. Yeah. And I would have been like this. Not even saying. I had to put my own hand out like this. What you would've did, D-Bo? Don't lie. Hey. Good luck. Put your hand out. I'm on defense too. Good luck, James. Yeah, all right. Whatever, motherfucker. Nope.
36:03James Harrison:Hey, man. I know you would've. I know you would've. My what, nigga? Little nigga. I feel like you definitely said something like that, running on to the field, man, because I was on kickoff. I mean, I was on punt. Hold on. What was I on? When defense ran back out? No, I was on something when you ran. I think you ran out there and said a little something to me. Nothing crazy. Oh, I ain't say nothing crazy to you, though. Okay. You wasn't beefing or nothing? No, no, no. Bro, no. I think I just was in the way. Was it after I was getting fined? No, you ain't. It wasn't crazy. I just think you was like, man, move a little, nigga.
36:40James Harrison:Okay. Yeah. It's just nothing crazy. Just say, oh, shit. That sound about right. That's how I move. Get your little ass out the way. Move, nigga. I'll fuck you up. I ain't gonna lie. Move, nigga, before I whip your ass. I promise you, bro. I was like, this nigga's crazy. That was probably your boy, your boy Massacore probably got that started. He probably bumped me. Talking crazy, and I had to go ahead and take it out on somebody else. Move, nigga. Deebo, man. Funny, man. Joe, you was captain? How long was you captain, Joe? I was captain for, I think, two... Two years. Two years in Cleveland. Two years in Cleveland.
37:18James Harrison:Two years. It was happening. Yeah, man. Yeah, man. Why only two? It took a minute for me to get into the... Because when I first got there, rookie year, we had some good vets. We had some good vets, bro. And then my coaches kept changing every year. So you got to get to know them. And sometimes they already knew somebody that was a vet. We had good, like, Carlos Dansby, Dequale Jackson. We had good old-head middle linebackers that was legitimate. I was like, man, that just was OGs, like captain vibes. And they weren't just handing out captains. Joe Thomas was automatically a captain on O. You just knew what time it was.
37:59James Harrison:Josh Cribs. Hey, this is Hayes Davenport. And Sean Clements. We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network. Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners. Each week, we talk to someone in show business, a.k.a. the biz, and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us. Everyone has a good time, and no one gets mad at their publicist for letting them do our show. We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, not that great. Actually, can you help me shape this? How about we flip it on his head? How about we flip the script? What if the surprise woman, who actually you think is the straight man, is actually the one who's acting weird?
38:39Adam Scott. This entire time, you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show. I would never let go of that. I would never set expectations for something like that to happen. If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it. I'm always going to accept. You know, Danny McBride, fine. Yeah. It's all this fragile masculinity exuding. I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you. Mm-hmm. I was like, is that weed? Nope. It's fragile masculinity. Mm-hmm. Yep. Ben Stiller, no. Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is.
39:21You know what I mean? Like, they're like, oh, what's a circle? It's stupid.
39:24James Harrison:Everyone's so dumb except for you. And fake. Right. Fake and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life. I don't care about your life. And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us. Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy. Listen to Hollywood Handbook on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
40:00I chose option B. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
40:49I'm Mangish Hatikular and I'm back with a new season of the podcast Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about and what it really means to live forever for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain as opposed to his brain. Here's some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble.
41:34I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
41:49Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything. What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is pioneers in Appalachia. But they weren't just planting houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there. Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment.
42:26God need men to rule. Great. And decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bulls**t. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test tube. They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to Our Town on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Didn't catch the latest Roland Martin Unfiltered podcast?
42:58James Harrison:Here's what you missed. And the argument is, do you want to win? If you don't win, you have no power. It's real. Those are the very people who I always say vote against their own economic interests and they complain about the very thing they're receiving. It's raw. I knew that the issue of transgender athletes was not going well with a lot of black men. Roland Martin unfiltered. I went off. I said, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Y 'all gonna scream at Chanel, but you don't want to see a black luxury company in the same vein. Catch Roland Martin's daily commentary on the Black Information Network.
43:38James Harrison:12 seats. Those are moving south. So if you Democrats, you don't wait to 2030. You better be hitting the ground going hard in the south now. And download Roland Martin Unfiltered on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Two teams. It's just like you had some dudes. Okay. Look here, man. Uh... OBJ got his number back. He did? Yeah, he got his number back. The dude was on practice squad. We all knew that he was going to get his number back. I don't know why this is such a big thing. He was going to get his number back. The boy was on practice squad. Yep. It was either the easy way or the hard way.
44:21James Harrison:Right. You ain't getting a penny for this. It was either going to be the Dylan Gabriel way or it was going to be the Devontae Adams way. How you want to do it? Man, Devontae walked up to Youngboy. Devontae charged a million dollars. For number 17. Devontae laughed at him, walked to the training room and said, yeah, yeah, yeah, give me that 17. Off his back for the 99. Free 99. Free. Free 99. I mean, that's what's going to happen sometimes. They're like, oh, what have you done for me lately? You can't be acting outrageous sometimes for the number. It's like, humbly give it to him. Or, you know what I'm saying, he might do something nice for you.
45:02James Harrison:Give you a little five bands. Boom. Right. Or you're going to get it roughed. Don't come in there asking nothing crazy. Because he don't have to be, he don't have to really come and give you nothing. Nathan. When he goes to the training room. Nathan you're down. He goes to the training room like Devontae did. Say, ha! Go to the equipment room, hey. Go to the equipment room. You come out with a whole different number and there's nothing you could do about it, coach. No question. Yeah. Bro, you don't practice squad. You ain't even on the roster. Your jersey. Get that up. That's not even in the games.
45:33James Harrison:Mm-mm. They don't even know that. We don't have a player in that number. We ain't got a player in that number. We ain't got a player in that number. We ain't got a player in that number. You looking like, buddy, on the San Francisco 49ers. You the 49ers, bro. Hey, I'm going to tell Odell, though, like, yo, real talk, man. You shouldn't even worry about that 13. You should have went with something else, because then they got to buy a different jersey to let them know that when you came back, that you was back. You should have stayed in that three, man. You would have got you some more money, man.
45:54You tripping over to one three. You ain't going to be that one three you was then. I went on here and got you some more jersey sales. Now everybody bringing out their Odell, their old Odell jersey now. They ain't even got to buy no money to spend to get a new one.
46:07James Harrison:Because if he flipped the city three, yeah, his jersey sales would have went up. He could have just adored it. They could have ran it back. Slide back the three. Right. Slide back the three on them. With the Odell three. Boom. He would have stung them. Stung them. Stung them. Nah, for sure. There have been people coming up there talking about, oh, I got the Odell jersey. They up there painting the one. So, they look like it's just a three. No, they got to move to the middle. Go and get the new one, man. Go and get the new one. Show me that you real fan of me, man. man, Odell and them, man. That's what I got.
46:31True fan, man.
46:32James Harrison:True fan. You might have been back in that Jersey sale category. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. For sure. In New York, they going to go buy that new number three. In New York? He did it. In New York? Look here, man. Go ahead and get back to where you was at. Get that, you know, get that paperback. Go ahead. Hey. I don't want to get back to where you was at. So they, you know, get that little bit of paper, that little bit of money. You know what I'm saying? Got to. Got to. Got to. Joe. What's up, man? We running up on it. Okay. What we got? We got Heco Santay. $2. He said, will a 4-4-3 base defense work for the Steelers?
47:23Hell no. No, no. No, no. I ain't rocking with the 4-4-3. How can you run a 4-4-3? This ain't Little League, man.
47:40James Harrison:Boy, that's how they're like the Little Giants. Bruh. Hey, man. Is that four? Is that four? Four D-line and four linebackers, three D-bids. You can't run that. Three Ds. A lot of people are running the other way. A 4-3, well, some people are running a 3-4-4. Well, we have. Like, they going the other way with it because of how all these passing formations and all that. Like, if you, I'm going to tell you, though, if you got, you can go. Yeah, well. You can't do that. You can't. It's just, you ain't going to have no linebacker that can sit out there and cover a receiver and play in and play out.
48:21You just can't. It's not going to happen. I don't know nobody that could play that in the league on a consistent basis. That's that. Yeah, not by any formation. No. Hell no. Bro, you're putting a linebacker. I don't give a damn how, you know, sweetie. Like, that ain't, he getting out there with, you know, you were going to put somebody in the slot, JSC, or somebody like that, man.
48:48James Harrison:Stop playing. You got to be matching personnel. This got to be 21, 22. Yeah, it ain't no way you can go and do that one. No. Can't no. It's no. Not even the Steelers or anybody. You ain't playing no 4-4-3 in the NFL. That ain't happening. Not doubting nowadays. Maybe back when they wasn't passing the rock. Mike Mike,$105. He said, what up, D-Bo and Joe? With season coming up, do y 'all play fantasy football? Yep. And y 'all joining nightcap league. I do not play fantasy football. I don't know how it works. And I don't want to, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't want to beat up on nobody. What the hell was that?
49:47James Harrison:Here it go. What's that? Kings of the North. Me and my boy Gates. In our fantasy football league last year, we won the title. We won the ship. 2025 champs, you know what I'm saying? My first year in the league. So just letting you know, this is what I do now. So I play a little fantasy, obviously. Only taking home titles, though. Kings of the North is the name of the squad. Just in case y 'all was wondering. I had to go run and get that. I saw him talking fantasy. Put it back there with your jersey and all that, in front of your jersey. For sure. I want it there every week, every day. Every day, since that's your claim to fame.
50:33James Harrison:Hold on, make sure you can see me and my dog. Kings of the North. Kings of the North. There we go. Hey, you won something. You got your trophy there and I got mine here.
50:55James Harrison:It's a fantasy football trophy. That's crazy work. You my good man. But look, I'm just letting you know. I done dabbled now. You see my ship? You see my ship? Cover the life. She back, man. $20. She said, Cleveland, please explain the Browns quarterback situation because at this point, I need popcorn and a scorecard. At this point, the Browns don't need and they need an exercise. See? Don't cover it. That's not nice. But my Joe, you got to be HO at Hall of Fame. Come on. Evo Stillers. Debo, the Steelers have you nervous Has me nervous, okay Yeah, hell, they got everybody nervous Pissed off too Nervous and pissed off And my Browns covered it, don't worry They always going to be talking about Our quarterbacks, so All we can do is see what's going on All we can do is watch and see how Deshaun plays this year They always going to be talking about your quarterbacks So you know that y 'all always going to have a quarterback issue That's crazy You've been willing to accept it because y 'all have had it for, what, 20 years?
52:16James Harrison:It's been a while. Baker was out there. The last one we had. I mean, y 'all ain't really had one since then. Baker Mayfield. Listen, Baker Mayfield won us a playoff game. That's all I'm telling you. I know. You ain't had one since then. Y 'all let him slide. You know what I'm saying? Well, I'm just saying. Covenant Lodge, she back again. $10. She said, settle this debate. Is Cleveland actually trying to win football games? or are they colluding a 17-week experiment on how – or sorry, conducting a 17-week experiment on how much pain Browns fans can endure? Hey, they conducting a study on how much pain Browns fans can endure, bro.
53:01James Harrison:Yeah, it's tolerated. No, coveted. It's just been a long time, you know, and every time when the season starts, so everybody's getting excited about what's going on, but we're looking at our squad, and we keep on not having wins. So people are getting frustrated. We got to start winning games, and I think it comes because we're not putting up as much points, and our offense needs to start. You know, we just want an offense. We want to be, as Browns fans, want to look out there and feel like we can score, like we can be able to get points on the board, because our defense has never really been the problem.
53:36James Harrison:Defense staying firm. Hold on tight. If we can get 24, can we score 24 points, 27? Like, that should be okay. So we want to just get our offense out there, and we've been seeing it not that well. That's why. I understand. Y 'all want certain things. But I'm starting to believe that maybe y 'all don't deserve them. You know what I'm saying? Y 'all don't deserve them. What do you mean? Like, I told you this before. Like, people in hell, they want ice water, but they don't deserve it. Browns fans. The Browns fans definitely deserve it. The Browns fans definitely deserve it. They've been going through because they're there for us, fighting and rooting while we were getting belted.
54:18Oh, you mean how they rooted for that man when he tore his Achilles and they cheered?
54:23James Harrison:That's what you mean? No, man. We already talked about that. We addressed it. Anyway, Covenant Live, she back with another one. She said, Joe, be honest. when you look at the Browns quarterback situation, do you ever thank God you got out of Cleveland? Debo, don't let Joe off the hook. Ask him if he'd rather fix Cleveland's quarterback room or fix the Stiller's Porter situation. Mmm. Mmm. Oh. Ooh. Ooh. Which one would you rather fix, the Porter situation or the quarterback room in Cleveland, Joe? That's tough. Cover it. That's diabolical. Yes, let's go. Make a choice. Because, honestly, the Browns fans and it's the whole city of Cleveland, and it's like and then for Joey Porter Jr., he deserves this contract, and that's my good young brother.
55:30James Harrison:Oh my goodness, my heart. My heart, D-Bo. I promise this won't hit my stomach. Because I want this for both so bad. Dang, covered it. Because this could change the city. This could change a whole city, a whole fan base, a whole nation. Oh, I see where he leaning to now. Or Johnny Porter Jr. He don't care about family. Change his life. He don't care about family. Really set him up for the rest of his life. The same city that cut you. Joey. Joey. The same city that cut you and sent you out of here. They did. You know what they did. Who picked you up? You know what? You know what? This is for young.
56:17Damn.
56:20James Harrison:Dang, Deebo. Let's go. Which one, Joe? I think, does we have any more? That's it. That's it. Let's go, Joe. Pick one.
56:41James Harrison:Hey, Joe, you know what? We got plenty of time. We got plenty of time. Is it talking about, like, just say... Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh. It's one or the other. You fix Cleveland's quarterback situation or you pay nephew. Let's fix it, though. That's kind of... You got a franchise quarterback.
57:10It's crazy that you got a thing. Hey, I know not to go to Cleveland with Joe.
57:16James Harrison:He gonna fuck around and let me get drunk. No, I'm not, bro. You know what? Just because, honestly, bro, because I have a personal, legitimate relationship with young Peasy and I know that it would change his life.
57:34I'm a...
57:36James Harrison:Do you understand how much I want to get paid, though? Because it's like... Do you know what it is? It's the Steelers' fault. Give me an answer, Joe! It's the Steelers' fault. It's the Steelers' fault they picked you up after Cleveland went and sent you home and said that you wasn't worth it? It's not. It's not. Listen, listen. When I'm talking about Cleveland, you don't want to see nephew get paid. You don't want to see. Hey, man. Hey, listen, man. Oh, hey, listen. My fans in Cleveland did not cut me. All brothers ain't brothers. My fans in Cleveland did not cut me. My fans in Cleveland loved me, and I loved them back.
