In short
Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. upgraded to the 53-man roster while waiting on a contract; debate over whether he’ll practice/play before the regular season. Browns keep four QBs by placing Dillon Gabriel on IR (designated to return) and carrying Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and rookie Taylor Green. Also discussed: Trayvon Diggs being released by Seattle; Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley’s comments on measuring success; OBJ making the Giants roster.
Guest backgrounds
No formal guests. Hosts are Charlamagne Tha God’s show context, with Deebo and Joe as the main speakers.
Key claims
Porter Jr. is likely to avoid risking injury until paid (targeting ~$29–30M range). Browns’ IR move is framed as a strategic way to delay the QB decision while keeping four options. Hafley’s “not just wins/losses” message is interpreted as a foundation-building excuse due to roster/cap constraints.
Notable examples
Gabriel’s back injury after a preseason hit; eligible to return after four games. Diggs released with intent to keep him on the practice squad. OBJ earned a 53-man spot with 7 catches for 76 yards in preseason.

Hi, I'm Ashton Lansdale, a first-round pick in the Women's Pro Baseball League. For years, players like me dreamed of this moment. They said we couldn't play baseball. So we trained harder, played tougher, and never gave up on our dream of professional baseball.
2:22Now the dream is here. This August, the Women's Pro Baseball League launches, featuring the best players in the world. A new era of baseball begins. Don't miss your chance to be a part of history. Get your tickets now at womansprobaseballleague.com slash tickets. But we got some good news. I don't know if it's good news or not. uh the stillers cornerback joey porter jr has been upgraded to the 53-man roster and your guy uh what's his name uh mike flores he said it's no surprise he's not injured he's simply waiting for a contract he hasn't gotten with joey porter jr using the term hold in he bypasses mandatory training camp absence fees of 50k a day here's the news though he said once the regular season starts refusing to practice or play constitutes conduct detrimental to the team and unused and unexcused missed games um joe i'm gonna say this uh i don't know if this is over with yet but very uh smart to come back because you do have that now when it comes down to it um i don't I don't believe personally that he plays if before the start of the season, there is not a contract in place.
4:02If it's me, what I'm going to do is be like, yo, I'm feeling better. I'm coming back. I'm practicing. So, you know, hopefully as I start practicing, my back doesn't tighten back up. It doesn't lock back up because you got, what, 14 days before the first game starts. And a lot can happen in those 14 days. So now you're saying you're going back out to the practice field. Yes, I'm going to the practice field. Why? I need to make the 53-man roster. I need to be active. I need to have what I get. Okay. Right. So I'm going to go to practice. I'm going to do the practice. Okay? I'm going to be very careful as I practice, of course.
4:42But you're talking about the game is 14 days away. I haven't had any training camp work. So that's a lot of wear and tear on a guy's body that ain't had no training camp work. And you know the crazy thing is about back issues, dude, you could look at a back on an X-ray and an MRI and be in excruciating pain and it looks perfectly fine. And then you could take somebody such as myself as you look at the back on an MRI and you look at it and you're like, yo, you should be messed up right now. horrible. To be horrible, messed up. And you can be fine. So with that being said, of course I'm coming back.
5:19I'm going to be there practicing and all that. But before that Saturday hit or that regular season game, if I ain't got a contract, my back will lock up that night. My back will be locked up. How do you think this works out?
5:37James Harrison:That just is what it is. I hope I always want to be so hopeful in these situations because when I see players like when this was happening with when did they end up giving TJ his contract before? Was it? I don't know. I got to go back and check because I just I just realized like the thing that throws me off sometimes is when you play in the league and when you know like some stuff is just it is what it is. It's like there's a player that's been performing. He's drafted by you guys. He's done nothing wrong. And it's just the deal should be getting done. Like there's TJ where there's TJ is where his obviously he's going to reset.
6:18James Harrison:He was going to reset the market because his sacks, his numbers, he stayed out of the way. He was defensive player of the year. All pros and first teams and sacks, sacks. Literally the numbers put him into to be in that position. And when the team start to like just wait and hold off, it's like, guys, you know, So it's not if, but when. The contract is going to get done. It has to get done because they're going to be on the squad and they're a part of your team that you need. They don't do nothing wrong in the locker room. They're great in the community. They're great on the field. So it's time for them to get paid.
6:52James Harrison:So I'm hoping that this is the way where the same thing happens, where I don't know why organizations seem to just, you know, like it's done. You have a dude on your squad that wants to be there, that you know deserves to have the type of money. And I'm still trying to figure out, have they sent up the, at least get into the talking about it. Yeah, I don't know. That I don't know. I'm going to reach out after this episode and try to find out legitimately now because when it comes to two weeks before the games, now you want your players still, team. I know it is what it is. You want them to practice before the season starts.
7:32James Harrison:You've got to. because even if now the contract gets done the day before the game, I'm not thinking he's going to play in that game because you just can't go straight from the street to starting in a game because that's not healthy for him. That's not good for the team in the long term. So it's like we're going to need to get some type of period of warming them back up, getting them into practice, like now in the football shape, immediately to get to play into the game. So that's around a week max to a week and a half, the least amount of time. So I'm hoping that next Saturday that they get something done.
8:06James Harrison:Because once the Steelers know, the Steelers know, and I believe that they want Joey Porter on the team, Joey Porter wants to be there. I don't think that he wants to, in my mind, I don't think he wants to reset the market. I think he wants to be compensated nicely around that 29, 30 million. Like the 29, 30, not resetting the market, not 33, not 34. 30 will be good. Something around the 30 million, 29 to 30. I'd probably like to have a three in front of it. If we can do that at 30, then I think that the Steelers know that we can just get that done quickly and then get him back out there. That's what I am hoping.
8:39James Harrison:But what you're saying, Debo, makes a lot of sense because I'm like, Joey Porter Jr. still doesn't want to go out there because if you're risking that injury and hurting yourself, obviously it's just not worth it. Right now you've been playing for$2 million a year for your first three seasons. lessons like boom you're about to get paid between like minimum of every right one set 25 to 30 million dollars a year to play football now this is going to be more three times more than you've made in your nfl career in the first season so it's like now you're going to be doing that it's a real thing so you want to get compensated now you're going to continue to play at a high level because you know this is what you you've been playing like this since you got in you want to do nothing better get all pros be one of the best so now you're going to be compensated as such so you don't want to go out there now and risk hurting yourself.
9:26James Harrison:And then they're looking at you like, oh, no, you got an ACL. Like it just reasons for you not to get paid. I did these three seasons, no ACL. I played, I was on tape. Y 'all saw me getting better. So I can't go out there now and risk it because I, it's a hundred percent chance. I might get hurt. I've been out here these last three. I could have got hurt, but I didn't thank the Lord. So now it's my time to get paid. Let's just, let's do something. Let's get this contract done. I'll be back out here balling. right and and i'm hoping they talking by now um i don't know i i couldn't but at the end of the day like yo i got i gotta look out for me because worst case scenario says i go play i mess it up and now you i'm on a one-year deal somewhere i'm on a one-year deal somewhere trying to do approve it after you know you know you know and messed it up no no we ain't i'd sit i'd i'd sit out the whole year my my back be tight the whole year before i would you know i would go and and take a chance of playing it and even oh well you sit out a whole year you ain't gonna get that kind of money no more that's fine but at least i'm gonna know i'm gonna get 25 i know that no i'm at least get 25 worst case scenario and that's where it's like the player looking like he's wild and i'm like no he's not you ain't wild you you say four years you should play four years No, no, kick rocks on that because when you sign that for a year and they decide in year two you ain't playing well enough and they want a pay cut, they ain't got no problem with that.
10:57James Harrison:Swing that guaranteed up after that first two years, you still playing out doing the deal. Nothing. No, you signed it. You going to sit on this one. Yeah, y 'all out of control, man. Get out of here. The Cleveland Browns, though, they placed quarterback Dillon Gabriel on injured reserve designated him to return with a back injury. The Browns, the back A, the back A. The Browns will carry Deshaun Watson, Shedora Sanders, and rookie Taylor Green as the quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster. According to the Browns, Gabriel injured his back in the Cleveland game last preseason game against the Patriots after Dylan had the best showing going on, 12-15, 186-3, according to reports.
11:48Gabriel had pain Saturday and underwent an MRI. He will be eligible to return after the first four games of the regular season. Joe, listen here, man. I ain't going to lie to the road. Now, this right here, this is not what the Browns do, Joe, because this sounds like they figured it out and said to old Dylan, hey, look here. This is what we're going to do. We're going to say, you're back, Kurt. We're going to put you on IR, which will designate you to return, come back later. It puts you on the team. It gets you paid. Or we cut you and you see what the streets have to offer. But as we do this process, listen, as we do this process, Joe, everybody out here know we waiting to see what Deshaun can do.
12:47OK, and we ain't go just up and just take off from him. You know what I'm saying? But that gives us a chance to take these four games that he's on IR. And if Deshaun doesn't play well, you know what's so crazy, man? And after talking to your boy, Andrew Barry, your GM, this is a smart move, man. And when I think about it, man, it's a good job. I ain't going to lie to you now. Because you get four weeks of sitting him there while you see what Watson go do. And if it don't turn out how you want it to turn out, you say, Watson, you down. Maybe even let him go because you ain't going to use him. And then you move Sador to the one, get Dylan to two, and you still got Green at three.
13:32Like, you get four weeks to delay your actual decision.
13:38James Harrison:Yes. Like, yo, what you think going on? Evo, everything you saying is going on is exactly what's going on. The Browns, my boy Andrew Barry, that man, I'm not saying we're indulging in finaglery. I'm not saying that we didn't have a side deal with Dylan Gabriel. I'm not saying that. But there's a way that you can finagle, a good way to keep four quarterbacks, and it's a way that you can't, Ferdagle, just put them all on the roster. So this is a way that we get all our quarterbacks, you know what I'm saying? Dillon looked good out there, the final preseason game, got hit, needed to get his back checked out.
14:14James Harrison:Boom. Wow. When did the hit happen, Joe? NFL worked in all right. When did the hit happen? Because I said, I ain't back. Need him to chill for four weeks. So now we got Deshaun on the team. We got Shador backing up and we got Taylor Green right there to make sure everything, Let's root. Deshaun, go crazy for the first four. You got foe. See what's up. Let's pop off. Let's make sure, you know what I'm saying, seeing what's going on. If not, Dylan's coming back. We're going to see what's up. Shador's going to the one. Dylan to the two. Taylor to the three. You saw the whole thing. It just boom, boom, boom.
14:48James Harrison:That's how you get. We got our four quarterbacks on the team. We're going to see what happens throughout the season, Debo. We've got four weeks until Dylan has to come back. So right now we got Watson at the one, Shador at the two, Taylor Green at the three, and we will talk and we will proceed about our quarterback situation and how it unfolds week by week. You know what I'm saying? So that's how we rocking over here with my Cleveland Browns. You know what I'm saying? As our quarterback situation unfolds, you know what I'm saying? As they had to get down to the 53 and we had to figure out how are we going to do our four quarterbacks?
15:20James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? So we was going to do it like, OK, these three are going to be on the active. okay, and then we're going to place Dylan over here, you know what I'm saying, because of his back. Ah, tight back, Deebo, super tight. Had to go get the MRI immediately after the game. But he's going to be good. He's going to be fine. Like a little disc or something. Just a little slip. Nothing crazy. A little slip. Man, ain't nothing wrong with that man back. Man back might be tight. They done went on head. They seen that boy go out there and do that thing. Listen, this is a nice execution of the, you know, boom, timing, getting the ball out of your hands, getting the ball to the athletes.
16:00James Harrison:He wasn't doing, it wasn't no crazy, you know, deep pass. It's just boom, boom, boom. Do what you gotta do. Get the ball out of your hands on time, execute on time. It was not too many passes. Passed deep down the field, like I would say. I'm not knocking. I'm just telling you. Watch again. Had to go back and see. Oh, Dylan gave you? Went crazy. He did go crazy. That was nice. Beautiful. Boom, boom. Don't. Mess it up, got you. Dylan Gabriel, great play. You mad now. I'm mad because when I started thinking about it, I'm like, you know what, this ain't Brownish. I was talking to your GM, the man smart.
16:39He might have went on ahead and talked some sense to him like, hey, you want to be back out there in the streets? You want to go check those streets?
16:48James Harrison:See what the streets is looking like? They don't love you out there. Or you want to come over here and chill with us. You know what I'm saying? We got love for you over here. We got love for you over here, Dylan. Drafted you in the third. So you know it's love over here. Still. And guess who? Man, listen, man. Guess who else keeping four quarterbacks? Your people over there in Minnesota. They keeping Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz. What is it? Max Brosman. Brosmer? Broser? Bromers? And JJ. Look, JJ didn't even play in the last game. Our two squads keep in fold, and we got the eagles and the vikings.

20:33James Harrison:But we got the Browns. But the Browns really got. Browns got three and a half. The Browns made the best move, man. I don't know. I'm not surprised that I guess they're keeping four. I'm just, I am surprised that anybody. Yeah, I ain't going to lie to you, Debo. I've never been. I'm saying it because I'm trying to act like I've never seen it before either. I just know it definitely isn't normal. How often do you keep four quarterbacks? Has it? We got four teams right now keeping four quarterbacks, man. It's getting a little out of hand. Because, you know, quarterback is just such a valued position.
21:12James Harrison:If you don't got a quarterback, you don't got nothing. I understand that. But you're taking up other valuable positions that you could be feeling. Like, the quarterback can't even do nothing on scout. He can't run down on kickoff. He can't do nothing on scout. He can't do nothing on scout, bro. Yes, he can. He can't play no offensive defense. You got three already. Your third one is doing all the practice squad reps to get a show. He's, yep. Give you simulation of the other team. You right. He can't be a gunner. He ain't getting no reps. Zero reps at actual offense. Your three is barely touching it as it is.
21:53Your two is getting significantly less. They say we had four last year.
21:59James Harrison:We had four quarterbacks last year? We had four quarterbacks last year. We had no four quarterbacks last year. All right. We had no four quarterbacks on the roster. At the beginning, you might have ended up picking up somebody. Yeah, it might have ended up using four. Ain't no way we had four to start off. Like, this is diabolical. It's unbelievable. Crazy. Your boy OBJ, though, he made the Giants 53-man rush. Our boss said the former pro bowl receiver would have to earn his spot, and he did just that. He had seven catches of 76 yards in the preseason. Listen, man, you think he'll be effective over there?
22:51I'm assuming he's at least going to do whatever it is they need him to do. And I don't know what the contractual situation was, but what do you expect?
23:07James Harrison:I think O still got some speed. I saw him taking them up top on those deep posts. Long as he can still run those, be able to catch the ball as a flyer going up top still. He's lost, still got that speed. And then in the red zone, just kept his hands. Solid, just being able to catch the ball in the red zone, being a red zone target. And it's basically, they're not going to need him to be a one. They got them in league neighbors. Hopefully they say he comes back to be their guy. So just being able to be there in third downs, just being a set of hands where it's just going to be a guaranteed target for Bo Nix.
23:38James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? So, I mean, not Bo. What's the, what's the, what's the, what's the, what's the, what's the, with Dart. Yeah. So just making sure that Dart has a third down option where he can get him to rock.
23:55Yeah. I'm just happy to see him back. You know what I'm saying? Get a chance to start it where it finished where it started, I would say. And then jump over here. We go see. I want to get to your dude Halfley though, for real, for real. But the Seattle Seahawks, they also released former all-pro cornerback Trayvon Diggs. Diggs, I guess he had an interception, tackling preseason final. Well, it wasn't enough. GM said that the team intended to keep Trayvon on the practice squad to begin the regular season as he continues to accolade. Are you surprised by this move, Joe?
Read the full transcript
24:34James Harrison:No, I'm not. The league, bro, it just comes at you so fast, and it's not for long. You got to be balling, And especially when you get that second contract, it's really more the DBs. You can't be getting beat deep. You got to start making tackles. You got to throw your head in there. So when you are making that bag, the accountability for you to be out there balling and just being on top of stuff. So the eye in the sky don't lie. When you get bad tape out there and you're making a lot of money, people hold you to a standard. Now they're just expecting so much. and they know it's just younger dudes that are coming in the league that are not getting paid as much that are balling out and trying to get to that second contract.
25:14James Harrison:You get your Joey Porter Juniors that are making$2 million a year. He's trying to get to that next deal. So when you get that next deal, if Joey Porter Jr. starts to not ball, people are instantly going, it's going to be quick. It's going to be a, he's going to probably, or should he get cut from the Steelers? Should he be released? The next team that signs him, you instantly have to start balling. You might be getting paid a whole lot less. The game, once you get that first contract, they're not playing with you. It's no more you got years to develop and figure it out. No. Those were when you were first coming in your first four years.
25:46James Harrison:Once you get that second contract, if you're not balling, we're ready to get you up out of here. You know what I'm saying? They're trying to find reasons not to pay you. They're trying to find reasons not to keep you in the league. So that's why when I look at Joey, you haven't done anything wrong. You stayed out the way. You've done nothing but work hard. You're a great teammate. You're a great locker room dude. Your performance is what it is. you're continuing to get better. Now's your time to get the bag. So now when you're getting that bag, you still have to do the same exact things that you're doing right now.
26:12James Harrison:We got to get the bag first. No, no, no. That's what I'm saying. But that's why I'm looking at the TJ. The TJ is the Minka is the one. When you get paid, then you continue to do the same thing over and over again. And that's not just random. That's just who you are. So then you ball out and you keep coming in. You keep doing the same things. And that's how you get your next bag. So like with Trayvon, you got the bag and then your play just didn't match. it started going down. You started getting beat. You weren't getting as 10 picks. You weren't getting picked six. Injuries, all that. Instantly now, they're looking at you like, oh no, we need that 10 picks.
26:43James Harrison:We need that six picks. We need those PBUs. We don't need you to be getting scored on. Like, you gave them up four touchdowns this season. Like, that's not what we paid for. So it instantly turns to, what have you done for me lately? Your first four years in the league, you can have a little wiggle. You can get hurt and they'd be like, okay, he might, he's going to be able to get, he's young, he's developing, da-da-da. Okay, after that, after you get paid, after what you've done for me now, you better continue that or you're getting up out of there. So that's why it doesn't really surprise me because the league don't play.
27:14James Harrison:What have you like? Show me something now. Yeah, I'm 100 % with you over there. Yeah, there's no way. I mean, like I said, I'm not surprised. He would have had to come in there and do something spectacular to really be there, be there, especially with everything else beforehand and then getting to where he's at now. There's no surprise. But the Dolphins coach, Jeff Hathaway, says he won't measure the team's success this season. See the whole thing. Hey, listen. Listen, listen. Please, I have to see the whole thing because there we go.
27:54James Harrison:I can't hear it. Yes. Yes. You tried to get my dog Halfley looking crazy. The sound is not playing, bruh. Okay. It's going to come. Oh, my goodness. Jeff Halfley was my DB coach. Look here, man. Yeah. For the Browns. We went to the Pro Bowl together. I love Coach Havre so I'm going to have to see her exactly I want to hear exactly what he says before I go out here saying things crazy because I got to see it bar for bar I got to see it bar for bar it has to be context because you know why we play we play to win the game we play to win the game Joe we play to win the game I don't know what you're talking about like it's no other reason that you play to win the game and the team's success is measured by wins and losses.
28:53So you're telling me that if you lose all the games, that don't mean you're not successful? And that tells me if you win all the games, that still doesn't mean that you're successful and you win the championship? Like, what are we talking about here? Like, I don't understand what's exactly being said here, but... Because it's at the end of the... From what he said... Because it's at the end...
29:12James Harrison:Because it's at the end of the day. It's about wins and losses, Debo. Debo. Yes, it's 100 % about wins and losses. That's what gets you to the next level, which gets you to the next game, which gets you each win stacks into you hopefully winning a Super Bowl. At the end of the game, I can understand. But I'm saying if he's saying that there's going to be plenty small victories inside of the games where you play good and there might have been two, three plays. We got to get that sound because you trying to get in too many outs right here. right now. The only reason, only reason, Devo, is, only reason why is because there's no other, there's no other thing I could understand for why my man coach Jeff Halfley would say that because Jeff Halfley coached me and he didn't, he like, it was when, he knew like, he never said this, he never said this.
30:06He never said, he said, Joe, like, it's not gonna matter if you get touchdowns on you. It was, we're not gonna measure your success by that. Nah, not coach Half. Not coach Half. I'm just saying I think you're just going to have to take my word I guess I'm going to have to I don't think he had any mix up of wording or had it chopped up to something other than exactly what was said I don't think so I could be wrong but who knows I don't
30:51yep
30:52James Harrison:like so I don't I don't because he's what he's safe because the video is sound the video ain't got sound so you say just for now okay just for now because when I get the full what he said that's like saying we safe over here with the Steelers man we good we got four quarterbacks we done let E go we done we got we got Deshaun Elliott that got a comeback from IR and on top of that, we're our O-line. We ain't even had an O-line that done played together in two consecutive preseason games. We don't even know what that looked like, man. And that's a big part of having an O-line that is going to have any successes.
31:30They got to play together, dude. They got to mesh together. You got to know what your guy is going to do that's playing next to you week in and week out. And you get that over time when you get to play together week in and week out, practice week in and week out. Like, I don't, I'm nervous. I'm nervous as a hooker in church, man.
31:48James Harrison:This is why the only, because the only, the question mark for us right now is, when I say us right now, I'm talking about our Steelers, is the offensive line because with the offensive line, that's everything. If we don't have blocking for A-Rod, that's going to mess up our run game and that's going to mess up our pass game. You talk about getting behind the sticks. If we're getting smacked on first down, that's going to set us a whole schedule off. So we're going to need to get the offensive line big time. I don't care if they ain't got no camaraderie yet. We're going to figure out some camaraderie.
32:27James Harrison:Do you know what the scheme is? Do you know who you're blocking? Okay, we can get the camaraderie together, but we need you pushing people backwards. We need you moving this way instead of going that way. Let me say this. Uh-oh. We and I want to win. You'll hear this. Uh-oh, did they get them back? But success is not just defined by winning. Just. Right? That's why we play the game. Yes, that's why we play the game. And I think everybody wants to win in everything that we do. But it's kind of like what I was just talking about before. We're going to compete. I want to win in everything that we do.
33:01James Harrison:I've said that over and over. But at the same time, we need to make sure that this foundation and the process is built the right way. And like I was saying, that there's no shortcuts because it's bigger than that right now. and those are the things that are really important is we move this thing forward and we build and we find out who we have, what we have because we want to get back on top and to do that, you got to go through some hard stuff with competing in mind to win in everything that we do but keeping the main thing our process and the detail and the toughness and not taking any shortcuts and not flinching along the way regardless of what happens so at the end of the year, we can look back and say this foundation is strong and we're not going away.
33:48Hey Joe, I ain't gonna lie to you man. You know what that sound like to me bro. That sound like hey, I've been looking at my team and we're in trouble. We're in trouble right now. And listen, if we don't win now, do not fire me because it's a process. We're building. It's a process that we're going through right now and we're building. We gotta get the foundation right. So it's not just wins and losses. I'm putting it out here. I'm letting you know, letting everybody know. It's not just wins and losses. Now, I got to build this. I got to build this. I got to build this. Okay? Give me a chance.
34:16Rome wasn't difficult in one day. No, it was not. But listen, I'm just telling y 'all right now, give me a chance. Give me an opportunity. It ain't going to be just wins and losses. I understand that, but that's the most important part. 1 ,000%. It's not just wins and losses, but we got a foundation that we're building. We got to see what we got. We got to get them out there, let them play, let them build together, and do all the other stuff. because right now, what y 'all go get is what I'm hearing is it ain't going to look pretty on that win-loss. But we might have some development and success on the inside that don't accommodate and correlate to the wins and losses.
34:54That's what I'm hearing. He's saying, hey, we about to lose this year. Would you?
34:57James Harrison:See, look, hold on. See, I'm hearing the same thing. That's what I was expecting him to say. And I knew that he didn't just say that because he said, you play to win the game. He's not saying things that he didn't, that he doesn't not know. You know what I'm saying? And then this is what else I'm telling you too. His roster, and he's the coach of the team. He wasn't able to establish all this stuff. He didn't come there. They're paying Tua Tangabalua,$45 million, that he's not even on their team. They're still paying Tyreek Hill. He's not on their team. They're still paying Jalen Waddell. He's not on their team.
35:32James Harrison:They're still paying Jalen Ramsey. He's not on their team. So he's like this. Look, look guys. Guys, don't shoot me because I'm trying to build some stuff here. We first started, we built with straw because we talk about cap casualties. We got this. Oh, you told me the money don't matter, Joe. No, no, no, no, no. The cap don't matter. Look, look, look, look, look. With their team, it matters. The Miami Dolphins, when you paying way more that's not on your team than who's on your team, you can't. You paying a quarterback that's on another whole team$45 million, he's not even on his squad. So I'm like, okay, that sucks.
36:07James Harrison:You're paying Jalen Ramsey still. Tyreek Hill still. So coach, my man, my good man, Coach Jeff Halfley, is like this. Looky here, guys. I'm coming to build a foundation here. Y 'all left me with two hands behind my back. So obviously, wins and losses. But show, I'm going to come out here and build this product. But we need to have dudes that are on time to meetings, even if we losing. God damn. Don't not be showing up. You know what I'm saying? I got to build this. from the foundation. So that's what he's saying, Debo. Okay? It's not his bad. Coach DeFle is a great coach. He wants to win every game.
36:45James Harrison:He wants to compete. He wants to know he knows what's up. He's telling everybody, look, I don't have the Rams roster right now. They're over there. I'm paying some of their players. And I'm on this for my team. This is crazy work. So he's trying to build this house with stone and not Twitch sticks. Amazon Health AI presents Painful Thoughts. 40:19You ain't gonna see nothing coming up above the ground yet. I gotta put it in the foundation. We gotta be built on a strong foundation.
40:25James Harrison:Guys, it's been going, some crazy things have been happening over here and I'm coming to change the thing, but it wasn't built into that. So I'm working. The plan is to win the game, but don't expect us to win all the games yet. That's what he said. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I'm trying to win. Okay. I got you, Joe. I got you. I guess I can work with me here while I work with y 'all. But don't say that out loud. I don't want you saying that out loud. That's why he was prefacing. He was like, when he's saying what we were saying, you play to win the game. I want to win everything that we do.
41:03James Harrison:I'm prefacing my comment too. Let y 'all guys know. Trust me where I'm trying. But sometimes if you go into a gunfight with a pencil sharpener, then you might lose. Damn, Joe, a pencil sharpener, Joe? Like not even a knife? A knife. You coming in with a knife. You coming in with a little, you know what I'm saying? Something. No armor though. You paying the other armor. Nothing. You're paying the people that you're fighting against. That's what he's saying. You saying he's trying to build a whole roster with half roster money? Yes. Trying to build a whole. He's saying, y 'all need to realize this.
41:38I got a lot of money on the books right now. And I can't put over here. Why he just say that, Joe?
41:46James Harrison:Because it was for the team, too. He's trying to build character. He's letting them know. Y 'all going to come in here every day and work your. So he's letting them know. coaching you up. Hey, listen. We might not. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. He's saying that when we come in here and we watch this tape, it's going to be how do we end up losing this game? But were we on, were we on our assignment and alignments and techniques? No. That's why we lost. We got to do better here. Okay. Okay. All right. I mean, if that's what you're saying, Joe, but as I was saying before, they ended up getting video back.
42:26Over here in Pittsburgh, they ain't keeping four quarterbacks over there at the Dolphins, is they? They got four quarterbacks too? I don't think so.
42:35James Harrison:No, no, no. They just got Young Bull from Greenback.
42:43I don't... I'm just stuck on getting rid of you. Yeah. Holding on to four. Plus, Plus, don't forget.
42:57James Harrison:Be expecting queen to be coming downhill. That's all I'm going to say. I'm expecting to come downhill. I'm expecting to come downhill, but I'm just saying. And I need Heron to anchor. We need to get some anchor. Come on, man. I need some anchor. If it's me, I would switch up. I would put... No, I'm just saying I would have E as my first and second down guy and switch him at the position and put P at the, where, I mean, put Queen where P-Dub is and have them as my first and second down, depending on, you know, formation and personnel and all that. And then when it came to more of a passing situation, yeah, have Queen and P-Dub.
43:52James Harrison:But with P-Dub, what Queen is getting paid? Queen is getting paid. He's paid as our main full-time first and second, third down backer. P-Dub. Right. I'm not saying taking him out. I'm saying P-Dub would be sitting out. Okay. Okay. Versus first and second run type stuff. And then you would have Queen and E in there. And then when it came to more of a pass type situation, then you would have P-Dub and Queen. in there. Queen will always be in there. No, no, I feel you. I'm just saying switch the position so he would be playing both insides. Nope. I hear you. Well, that's just the way I'm looking at it just from what I'm seeing as far as what we've seen over the last year.
44:39Yeah, I feel you. I'm a little distraught. Yeah.
44:49James Harrison:I feel you, D-Bow. I feel you. I'm just expecting them two to do what they said. I'm hoping that they do. I know, I know, I know. I'm really hoping that they do. That's what I'm saying. But if I'm going from recent history and what we have seen, what does that tell me? Like, that was our issue. We had an issue with people running the rock on us. And it can't all be, you know, put on the D-line. some of it can be, but when it comes down to it, as you start, you go back and look, I started to have to go back and look, and I'm like, yo, some of that stuff I'm seeing, it's just misread. Why are you even moving that way in this read that you're getting from the offensive line?
45:35That don't make no sense to me in some of this stuff. Oh, you're right.
45:41James Harrison:You're right. But that's the good part. We're the season about to get ready to start, Debo, and we are going to be looking at plays. we look at plays hopefully we get all 14 days of an offensive line that is the offensive line that will be playing together in the first regular season game against Atlanta on the 13th so hopefully all that can be uh meshed together a whole lot better than it has been I just yeah I don't know brother let's check these super chats we got Nate Griffin what is that a 1 or a 3 or R is that an I R 3 R I don't know what it is 2 dollars said Debo come no I'm back Debo come back them muscles ain't for show these muscles for show now show for show they muscle for show here this all I do is show for show show they for show for show they for show I can't get out there Joe been working out today Y 'all might want to talk to him about it.
46:44Like, Joe, Joe been out there. Yeah, I did. He been working out. Yeah, rocked up. Like, what you do to Jay, Joe? What you do? I did chest today. I did chest and tris. Oh. Oh, okay. I was making sure because it didn't look like you touched him. Bing, and I threw behind.
46:59James Harrison:I'm laying down on the bar. Chest joint, and then, ah, boom. Ah. It's called tricep extension. Yeah, the chest joint where. No, no, no. But I got the bar, though. I got the bar. I'm doing the bar bench, and then I'm putting it behind, all the way behind my head. That's something else. You know what that's called. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. That's the name. Yeah, that ain't called nothing else, man. That's called the tricep. I know you trying to call it something else. It ain't. But you don't know what it is. That's all there's to it, Joe. Listen, muscles are for sure. I can't come back. I'm 48 years old.
47:34I'm closer to 50 than I am anything else. If I came back out there, I'm going to mess around, hit somebody, and I don't know what's going to happen. I just feel like my bones... You know how you see they do that sports science where you have somebody hit or they be doing the MMA where the dude kicked and they show his bones cracking and stuff. That would be me. That's what I feel like. Cool, bro. Brittle bones. Dude, man, listen. AD is 35 years old, okay? I played until I was 39, okay? You want me to come back at 48? No, sir. D-Bo, that's crazy. That's crazy. That's a diabolical. Look here. We got JB.216.
48:21I said, Joe always repping the land. You know what time it is, JB216?
48:26James Harrison:Go Cavs. Go Brownies. Look here. Mike, Mike back. We got Mike, Mike, man. He back with$5. He said, what up, D-Bo and Joe? between the four quarterbacks on the Steelers and the four on the, I guess he's saying the Browns. Which four would y 'all pick from the eight? You go, Joe. A-Rod, Drew, Shador, and Will.
49:05Say it again?
49:07James Harrison:no I'm gonna go A-Rod say it again A-Rod, Shador, Drew and Will I think Deshaun's better but it's just I'm putting contracts involved and everything that's what I'm saying because I'm just paying them peanutty buddies right now say that again I said I'm involving contracts too I understand I'm saying the names no man you heard me I'm not gonna say it no more time No, I'm trying to internalize what you're saying. No, your turn, Debo. I said mine three times. Who are your quarterbacks? A-Rod.
49:52Drew. Howard. Shador. You see how I put my people first?
50:02James Harrison:You see how I put my people first? I put A-Rod because I think A-Rod is just the best quarterback out of. You know what I'm saying? Right, right, right. So you want to put him in order? No. Oh, you don't. I don't actually. Huh? Matter of fact. Sure. Yes. Let's put him in order. How would you put him in order? You first. I already know what you're going to do. Go ahead. I'm going A-Rod. A-Rod. Howard, Oller, Shador. Where you at? I'm going A-Rod. Then I'm going Will. Then I'm going Shador. Then I'm going. I'm not Will. I'm in. I'm going Drew. I'm going A-Rod, Drew, Shador, Will.
51:02James Harrison:Just for right now. Just from what I've seen with the eye test. I don't know. Drew looking pretty good. He's looking pretty good right now. You go put Shador in front of Howard just from the eye test? The eye test would tell me that might not be right. I like the way that Shador can throw the ball downfield. I like the way Will can too. But Drew Aller, I don't know. His release and the way he moves in the pocket, it looks quarterback. it looks good quarterback to me it looks really it looks nice okay we got 50 pesos Carlos is that avarice? I can't see the end of that one what's that? it's Carlos something I can't see the dot dot let me look on my phone hold on Carlos Alvisu 7044 for 50 pesos, said, hey, Debo, I heard your interview with Alvarello and Archibald.
52:12Oh, they're talking about the Stiller's Mexican broadcast. Oh, okay, yes, yes. That's why I'm horrible on that name. Yeah, yeah, he said, good to hear you and Joe will be coming to Mexico in the coming years. Yes. Joe, we in Mexico sometime within the next couple of years. Two to three years. Maybe sooner. We don't know. We've been having some conversations, you know, with the Stiller Mexico thing. So it may, it may, you know, international. It may happen a little sooner, Joe.
52:58James Harrison:You know, man, I've been there. My passport has been hidden since, but you know I'm always down, especially if I'm going with you. You know what I'm saying? I know you know people out there, too. So, if you know already. You know you can't go nowhere without me. Hey, Joe, I roll with a whole security team. I roll with three trucks. I got one on me, one in the front, one in the back. Is this just when we out the country? Hey, listen, listen. I'm telling you, it's only out of the country. Yeah, it's only out of the country, man. Because, you know, I ain't going to lie to you, man. You know, it's a little dangerous over there in Mexico City now.
53:37You know, you get, there's a possibility you're getting, you know, grabbed up or something, you know what I'm saying? I might have to get folk. I might have to get folk, you know what I'm saying? I ain't going to lie because I can't communicate. That's what I'm saying. I don't even know what's going on. So I don't even know what the offer is, you know what I'm saying? I can't get got. I might have to go with folk. I might have to go running front, back, left, and right.
53:56James Harrison:You don't got to be outside like, yeah, we ain't got to be outside too much unless everybody, unless we just know where exactly we going. Steelers fans. Yeah, I'm going to need at least 20. 20 bodyguards. Everybody got ARs. Full SWAT gear. I'm going to need all that, man, because, you know, we got to make sure we can get to our Steelers fans over there, man. Because you know what else, though, Debo? But it's a bunch of haters over there that want to snatch us. You know what I'm saying? But you know what else, though? It's some haters over there. We come in peace. You know what I'm saying? That's the thing.
54:29James Harrison:We come in peace. You know what I'm saying? We come in peace into parties. We come in peace. Trying to vibe. That's it. Tequila. Repo. Just a little Repo. Nothing crazy. Wine. I ain't drinking nothing but straight. Straight. No water, no ice, no nothing. What you drinking? Hey, and make sure you drink bottled water, bro. factual. They ain't about to mess me all the way up, Debo. They got me. I ain't going to lie to you. They got me, man. It got me. It was just a little bit of ice that melted in the glass and I dumped the ice out and I went on ahead and poured it. I got it. It got me. Joe, I was locked up on that plan.
55:13I told you about that, man. It was by the grace of God I made it to the bathroom, brother. Got to be more careful. Yeah. Oh, my goodness, bro. Look here. All right, man. Well, we going to be back here tomorrow. Tomorrow. Yes. We will be back here tomorrow and that's September, start of the month. First day of the month. September 1st. First day of the month, man. I got to go. It's the first of the month. I got to get my check in something, something. Bone thugs, all that stuff. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. I can't help. I'm bone thug type dude.
