In short

NFL replacement referees and replay changes; debate over integrity vs money/gambling; guest football experiences; NFL team talk (Bears/Lions QB debate, Steelers vs Browns/AFC North predictions); Super Chats including TJ Watt and Browns defense/scheme questions.

Guests

Deebo (former NFL player, co-host; discusses officiating, film-room coaching, special teams, and personal anecdotes) and Joe (co-host; former NFL player; adds analysis of officiating, defense alignment/scheme, and team predictions).

Key claims

NFL owners are preparing to hire college-level replacement refs; training starts May 1 and replay enhancements are expected to be approved. Deebo argues part-time refs undermine pro integrity and replacement refs look “junior varsity,” citing 2012 lockout and the “Fail Mary” controversy. Both worry replay control could worsen gambling/integrity concerns. They also argue NFL defenses can look “trash” due to scheme/alignment/assignment issues, not just talent.

Notable examples

2012 Seahawks–Packers “Fail Mary” (Green Bay–Seattle); Deebo’s kickoff return/meeting mishap; TJ Watt “down year” discussion (sacks vs impact); AFC North win projections (Steelers 12, Browns 10, Ravens 9, Bengals 7/6).

The NFL owners, they're alarmed by the state of negotiation with the NFL Ref's Association and have authorized staff to begin hiring and onboarding replacement refs in the coming weeks. The NFL began compiling a list of college-level officials to recruit earlier this month, and owners are expected this week to approve a sweeping set of replay enhancements to support replacement officials in preseason and regular season games. A league source said the training of the new replacement officials will begin May 1st.

3:02Joe, how well did that go in 2012 when the NFL locked out the refs and they used college level refs, which they are saying they plan to use now, which led to bad calls, inconsistent calls, incorrect calls because it was different rules. Like they weren't even calling the rules white, right? Yeah. That lasted for three weeks. And then it ended with what they call it, the fell Mary incident with Seattle and Green Bay. And the last play touchdown that cost Green Bay the game. First off, the play shouldn't even been judged or ruled anything because Tate pushed 37 so hard to the ground that Stevie Wonder could see it.

3:57And it should have been an interception. But they don't know what they're looking at because what they say, simultaneous possession goes to the offense. But it wasn't simultaneous possession. The DB had it and the receiver reached his hand in there. So what happened? Players started complaining. The coaches started complaining. They kept criticizing, you know, the refs. The fans and the general public started complaining. And then it was like, yo, what's up with the credibility of the game? Then the gambling thing was an issue. Oh, there we go. Money. Losing money. NFL said, oh, hold up. We're about to lose money.

4:33Get the refs back. They worried about money, bro. What you think of this, man? Them using replacement refs again. I think they need to. Look, the whole referee joint, it pisses me off because we're a professional NFL football league that have part-time referees. Like, there need to be—our referees, I feel like the NFL referees need to, first and foremost, be full-time refs. They need to be able to get judged by how they perform. They need to be able to get their stuff reviewed and get their stuff taken over. So the whole little league referee system that we're doing in the professional and the multibillion-dollar business blows my mind.

5:12So getting replacement referees, just D-League, like, what are we doing? This is a professional football league. Y 'all were talking about the integrity of the games, all this. Why are we having part-time refs reffing a professional game done by the cream? Like, this is supposed to be the best of the best. The business, business, trillion-dollar, billion-dollar companies. Why do we have part-time officials that are making sure that, like, the games go by them? You know what I'm saying? So I think that starting from the, it's money, but we got so much. we need to make it legit where we have legit full-time refs and they get look i hear you debo but with me it just it just it's crazy and hiring replacement refs it just makes it look even more junior varsity that we're playing in the nfl and now we're getting replacement refs come from college that the rules it is a different game like all the little intangibles the the just the the not even the big stuff the two feet in bounds you know i'm saying that they have one foot in college, the gunners, the in and out, how long you can stay out of bounds, how long you get to come back in bounds, the touching of the ball on the punts, anything, just the little intangibles of our game that people were looking like, why did they do that?

6:20I'm like, no, no, you got to, when you put one foot out of bounds and one foot in bounds on the kickoffs, little stuff, special teams, just the little, little things of the league that you have to know. And it's like, those are professional reps that have been doing it for a long time. They should be going through training and making sure like this is what you do there's reasons when you do mess up calls you don't get to play reffing the playoffs there's you get in trouble like the same way players and everybody you get no you stink you're out you're fired you're no longer nfl ref there has to be repercussions to continued bad calls and not being able to do stuff in playoff games and super bowls and stuff like that so with me they we need to have our own referees and replacement referees just makes it look even more junior varsity.

7:07No question, dude. They need to be full-time, pay these dudes. Some of these cats are pilots and lawyers, dude. Like, how much time are they doing elsewhere if this dude is a pilot? He's flying and he's a lawyer. Like, come on, bro. Like, pay the man. Pay that man some money. He's a ref. Pay the money what they need. That's the whole reason right here. They said next week it's expected to approve a sweeping set of replays to enhance the support why so they can try and get the play right even if they miss the play or don't get it right that they can call and be like hey this need to be that but then do you get into people talking about oh man the nfl now is setting their own rules of who they want to win not win depending on what plays they review or don't review they catch or don't catch now you're getting into the whole gambling type issue thing and all the other stuff where they're like now the nfl got control of whatever it is.

8:02So I think you're running into a whole bunch of... You're running into muddy waters here, man. You're running into muddy waters here. And they're trying to be oh, it's scripted. Everything's scripted. Well, hell, if that's the case, they're thinking something's scripted. Well, hell, they can change the script. Bro, I'm telling you this because when you talk about the scripted part, though, Debo, I can only speak on myself and knowing... I can speak on all of us. I'm not going in to lose. Brother, brother, brother, how the hell? I'm trying my hardest not to get my ass beat over top on a fade ball.

8:36Like, I'm not worried. Like, I understand that. But like, for me, that is my livelihood. The eye in the sky don't lie. What are you doing, Joe? You just got your ass beat. Like, I can get cut. I will not play anymore. I'm looking at it like, no. Just for business. Like, no. You supposed to be in your spot. Getting hit on that in front of my team. When we go to that film room, the embarrassment of being on that big screen with your coach in front of everybody like this. What happened right here? You know what's coming? I'm like this. I got beat. I'm waiting for the tape the next day because I know I'm going to see that in the big screen.

9:09I'm going to see that in the little meeting with the defense. I'm going to see it again in our individual meeting. I'm about to get bombed up in three meetings in front of all of my homies and feel terrible because I'm supposed to be him. He's not supposed to ever score on you. That's how I feel. But when we're looking at it, I'm like, oh, man, Joe. Okay, you got to get your head around quick. What happened here? I'm like this. That's me. I got to make that play. You know the plays you never messed up on, bro. You sitting in a meeting, you like, damn, is he going to show this one in the whole team?

9:33Play 23, play 47. I don't know. Yeah. And you know you got that list. You got the joint. Damn, I know I missed that tackle. Coach comment right here. Joe, what the hell? What the fuck? WTF on it. Like, oh my goodness. I can't wait till this play come. So, Joe, what we got here on the play 23? That's me, coach. You know, I thought he was running. That's me not hitting what I had on that play, coach. That's all me. That's me. I got to make that play. All right, next time. Yep. Dang. Bro, it ain't, dude. It ain't nothing worse. Dude, especially like when I played Vakara, bro, when I played Vakara, the whole team sat in there for every special team's play.

10:20So we'd go through kickoff, kickoff, return, punt, punt, return. The whole team was in there. he would replay, replay, replay. You slowing him down. What are you doing? What are you doing? Are you accelerating or are you decelerating? What the fuck are you looking at? What are you doing here? Man, me and Foot, we be like that. Man, did you miss a block on that? Yeah, bro, I missed a block. You know he going to get tapped, bro. All 11, they're going to rewind. You're sitting on one play for 20 minutes. Everybody going to get theirs. Bro, hey, yes, bro. Everybody getting theirs. Everybody getting theirs.

10:58Ain't no shorts for nobody. No. Ain't no shorts for nobody, bro. But that's why I love football, though, bro, because that I and the Scott don't lie. If you made your block, you made it. You good. Oh, yeah, I'm going to get a good one on this one. This is how we need it. Like, make me do a teach rep. So, when a coach is like this, now, Joe, that's how you get your leverage right there. I'm like, yes. Come on, guys. You hear it? Yeah, you heard that. Right. Yes. Hey, that's how you do it. Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look at Joe in there. Good feet. Good feet, Joe. talking about, hey, you see Joe? I'm like, oh, shit.

11:25You see James right here? Oh, I did it right. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Hey, dude, I'll never forget, man. So I was nervous, right? So I'm playing and you know how you do a right or left return on kickoff. You can do the crackbacks then. Yeah, yeah. So as we doing it, we're doing a right return, but we're facing this way so the right return is here, right? Yeah. So I done got so damn nervous, bro, that I done turned to run. And as I turned to run, I'm like, right return, right return. But I'm turning, running towards our guy now. So the right return that should be on my left is now I'm thinking it's right.

12:08Yes. Total opposite, wrong direction. And as I get down there, I'm looking and I'm like, where the hell is he going? It's a right return. And as I start seeing everybody else doing the real right return, which is my left because I done turned around. I'm like, oh, shit. You know you about to look crazy. I'm in the meeting, bro. Coach Coward go, James, what you doing here? It's a right return. Do you know it's a right return? Did you get the call? Yeah, coach. I know it's a right return. I said, but what had happened is I went for the I was doing the right return but when I turned around I said my right was still on my right dude he started laughing like that's the only thing that got me out of it like everybody like yeah he said what I said when I turned around coach my right was still on my right so I went for the right return I was nervous okay okay you can only look Debo you probably get you get that one time you get that one time I told him one time I go we was blocking and you know we're in the meetings and he's going through the meetings and he's like hey whatever happens you know just go ahead go hard da da da da and he was like cause shit happens you know da da da da right yeah so we in a play I think they got me for like a holding penalty or something and he comes over James James I'll make it like I don't hear him you know what I'm saying I'm going to the sideline I know you hear me James, silverback, da-da-da.

13:49You know, that's when they called me silverback. So I turned. What? What happened there? And I was just like, coach, shit happens. You know what I'm saying? He had nothing. You had nothing for him. He had nothing to say. He was like, Busty and them was like, yeah, coach, you did say shit happens, though. Yeah. Like, you did say shit happens. Shit happens. You took him on the chair. That's me. Shit happens. Yeah. I had nothing else to say. No excuses. dude wide receiver kalief ran uh raymond's chose to play for i guess the bears over the over the lions so there was a chance to return to the lions for a sixth season an opportunity to rejoin a former or opportunity to rejoin a former coach of chicago he opted for the chance to play for ben johnson who had been the offensive coordinator in detroit before leaving their division rivals in 2025, he said, I wanted to play for Ben's offense.

14:49He's extraordinarily creative and honest, and you can be in any spot on the offense, and he will find a way to get you the ball. Just to be under him is a great privilege. Joe. Yes. What is this saying? Is this a knock at Detroit, or is it a bump on the Bears? I think I'm going to bump on the Bears. I'm going to bump on the Bears. I'm going with young Caleb, growing, getting better, looking good, and them dudes just thriving. Nothing. What's up? You're saying, who they got over there at quarterback, bro? In Detroit. In Detroit? Yes. Golf. Golf, okay. I mean, yeah, I like golf, but I like young Caleb.

15:37Well, you acting like golf is better than Caleb Williams? I'm taking I'm taking gosh oh you're on you're on you're on you're smoking more than that cigar I'm taking Kayla Williams for sure I'm taking God okay I'm taking God I think it's more of the head coach okay personally because he said I wanted to play in Ben's offense quarterback and coach Quarterback and coach. I think if they had... Don't forget. Hamble took over play calling this year now.

16:18They didn't do great. They didn't even make the playoffs, bro. After killing it early. And years. Especially when he was coordinator in 25. Go back 25. Bro, I'm going to tell you this. If I'm a young... I'm going with Caleb and them. He's young. I'm just saying. I'm rocking. You going with Campbell? I mean, I'm not going with Campbell. Yes, I'm going to go the other way. You just said quarterback. Yeah. Yeah, I'm going to go because I didn't like what happened, especially when they could have went to the Super Bowl if he didn't play Russian roulette in the playoffs with going for fourth downs every time.

16:58Crazy. You can't do that when you're in the playoffs, dude. Ain't no making up for that.

17:07No, for sure He was living by the sword Dying by the sword I still like Campbell I like the way they was coaching over there But now they got rid of the running back too They lost Montgomery I think Caleb is going to be a star And the Bears are going to be trouble Oh, from his last year I believe he's going to develop into something But you're saying that golf is better than him They're already doing it in a supernatural way right now. But once he gets his consistency together and have a real grip on getting that thing there now with his ability to shake and bake on you. Yeah. Stop making it, bro.

17:55It's happening. You got Ben right there, buddy. He just told you. Extraordinarily creative. Mm-hmm. he knows what's up man Caleb gonna be the future I like it

18:11man I ain't gonna lie to you bro I just can't get over the pain of nails Sam D-Bo I'm just keeping it 100 I just you know I ain't gonna have it but I just I don't know just keep going The main thing, the main thing. As long as he in that thing, he knows all the plays, all the adjustments, all of that shit. That's all that matters in between those lines, coach. Please. You know? Come out that, you know? And doing it on time. Handling business. Please. On time handling business. Better understanding of the offense. Defense. Better understanding of the assists. Everything, dude. Bro, literally. Comfortable.

18:57Moving smooth. not like understanding, being able to - Just don't be missing no practice time coming late for nothing. None of that. None of that. I'm talking about my first one in. I'm thinking at the same time, I haven't heard anything about him. I know Caleb Pops and everything. He's in there. He's studying the tape. He knows what's going on. He wants to be the best. So I've never heard anything about being late to any meetings, late to any obligations. He's in there. I'm just going to shout at the nails. That's all, bro. I know you was. I know you was. I just bite. I bite mine. You know, I do my nails.

19:31You bite your nails. You don't even have any nails. I start chewing on them all. You don't have nails. Look at you. Just don't even care. I'm biting. Yeah. I'm just biting. I used to get bored and just sit there and just chew on them. Yeah. You a wild, wild man, D-Bo. Yeah. Straight up. That's why you call D-Bo. Rikki. Rikki, man. I can't help it. I take and I take away the need to spend extra money. I told you I gotta find a way, Joe. I ain't gotta like that. Yeah, you just gonna do it yourself. Just straight manicure. Gone. Yeah, even. Sometimes I even get to the cuticles when they get rough enough.

I can't see you. see you with your leg out toe up crazy man bro I honestly I used to be able to I think I saw I think so I ain't that no bro you gotta tell me what age did you stop doing that oh man I had to be a kid man okay I was about to say you had to be you had to be under double digits you had to be at least got that six five cause once you 13 year old Debo yeah I was young man I think I think I might have I bit that toenail off one time.

24:19I ain't know how to use no fingernail clippers. I'm going to bit that big toenail off one time.

24:29Oh, man. I wasn't ready for that one. I'm just saying, bro. I'm just saying. Hey, man, listen. He preferred Buffalo. I mean, sorry. The Bears, obviously. Who would you... Like, if you could come back right now and you still had your skill, who would you want to play for? I ain't going to – for me, I would want to play for the Lions. I would want to play for the Lions. I love the coach. I love that. I just love the way that he – the previous – how he was a previous player. Love his energy. Love how he moves, you know. So, I would probably want to play for that coach if it was me. But quarterback-wise, I think Kayla's the better quarterback.

25:11Okay. I would definitely probably want to play for the Lions. I think I like him a little more. So you going... I'm a player coach kind of guy. I mean, you might not. You going for the coach that you like. Yeah. Understandable. Understandable. And golfing not bad, too. I mean, that coach-quarterback combo, like you said, it's not bad. Oh, yeah. For sure. You can't go wrong with that. And a guy Gibbs. And I'm a rock. But you already know who comes out on the AFC North, though. On top this year. Who you got coming out? Hold on. Who you got? Stop playing with me, bro. Who you got? Because we always doing it because nobody got the full rosters.

25:50I'm going to know it's... I don't need no full rosters. You already know what it is. You already know the Steelers. I know the moves we done made. I know the moves y 'all done made. I know the moves some people ain't made. I know the moves some people can't make. And there ain't nobody that you go get right now that's going to change that in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth round.

26:15unless you're thinking that your guy Andrew Berry can get something that's going to change that or one of those other teams we need to get it we go get we go get two two dog receivers out of this draft I'm talking about two dogs and another and then two more offense alignment just for skill and depth then we're going to see no no no I mean I'm going with the Steelers. I'm going with the Steelers. And then second, I want to see what we do with the receivers and with the rest of the receivers and offensive line. Because our defense is what it is. Boom, we're going to be cold. Our offense, we got to be able to score at least 24, 21, 24 points a game at least.

Read the full transcript

27:06If we could do that, our defense is going to be able to hold teams to under 16 points. I like us to win a lot of games. So once we get... What do you call a lot of games, Joe? A lot of games... Okay, over 10. Because we know 4 is... 10 to 7. 10 to 7. 10 to 7. 10 to 7? Why are you going down? 10 and 7 is our record. 10 and 7. That's a lot? We have... Well, we have 5. That's doubling what we had last year. Okay, okay. I see what you're saying. Yeah, I'm... What you... You're comparing it to that trash that y 'all had. It's perspective. It's everything. Coming in this year with, yeah, Shador with a good squad, we go 10 to 7.

27:50Okay, so where does that put the Steelers? Y 'all, I mean, we need to see who the quarterback is. But I'm saying right now, 11 to 12. 11 to 12 wins. 12 wins. 2, 4, 6. 12 and 5? Cincinnati, Cleveland, Ravens. I'll say maybe 13 and – maybe 14 and 3. See, you – okay. No, that's not – I'm going 12 for the Steelers. I'm going 10 for the Browns. So everybody else is in the basement. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Ravens, probably what they, eight, eight, nine and seven. What's that? Nine and eight? Nine and eight? Yeah, nine and eight. And Bengals, ah, sorry. Seven wins. Seven and ten. That's a lot of wins. Six? What, six and 11?

28:57You got seven with them. You got nine with them. Ten with y 'all and 12 with us. Oh, our division going to be five. That's the thing. Joe Burrow's not going to be playing Lamar Jackson's still Lamar Jackson you know what I'm saying I'm not going to disrespect our division our division's nice so that's why the Browns I'm looking at we got to be able to have offense we got to be able to put up some points our defense has always been in there with all the other AFC defenses we in there every time sometimes better listen listen if we can't score then we can't win So let's get us some offense to where, oh, man, whoa, we got 30?

29:38And the defense like, oh, my God, are you kidding me? We could really go out here and take off and get some more sacks? We don't have to. Bimba don't know. We're going after them. We up. We got a lead. I'm so lost on the we's right now. Listen, when I'm talking about the Browns, you jump on with me because you from Ohio. You lived in Ohio. The hell I will. Just take it. Just take it. Just let me go. I eat shit, die. When we go with the Stillers, you know, obviously, I'm rocking. So I let you just... We're going. But when I'm going, let me flow. I just need you to clarify the we's. We is me, you, and my brows.

30:21Bruh. Hey. Say something else that ain't we. Say us. Us. Okay, I'll say us. Us. I'll say us. I'll say us. I ain't part of that we. So, yeah. We'll know exactly, but yeah, that's what I'm saying. Steelers 12, Browns 10. Steelers 12, Browns 10. Yep. Cincinnati 7. Cincinnati maybe 7. 7 or 6. 6 or 7. That's a lot of wins, bro. That's not a lot of wins. It's a great division. It's going to be competition. So what's the divisional breakdown? The Steelers are going to win the division, and the Browns are going to end up getting in by record. Smart man. Smart man. Mm-hmm. The other part ain't too smart, but the first part, like I said, common sense ain't too common no more, but, hey, even a blind dog, you know what I'm saying, he can find the meat, you know what I'm saying?

31:27You're talking all that. Hey, listen. Bro clock is right twice a day, baby. Tell him. Hey, sunshine on every dog's ass once in a while. I could keep going. You know, I hit the records on point, though. Like, just wait. Remember. Y 'all, hey. Y 'all remember the records. You heard it. You heard it here. Still is 12. Browns, 10.

31:54Ravens, what was it? Nine. Nine. Yep. And the Bengals. seven or six. Seven or six. I'll let you play with seven or six right there. Yeah, please. Because I'm just trying to see where all these, like, the divisional records is going to be something. Like, it got, like, that's going to be... I had it, yeah. Because I had it last year. Hold up. You had the records last year? No, I didn't. I had what they did last year. Oh, okay. Yeah, the predictions, they always thinking that people going to win more than they did. Except for the Browns. They had SFO when we went five. And y 'all went and y 'all held up.

32:42Y 'all ended the bargain. We going to double it this year, though. Good old 10. Because we losing by extra points, field goals. No. Telling. And y 'all keeping miles because y 'all ain't trading. We keep him miles until right now he's still on the squad, for sure, until somebody tries to come out there with something crazy. Yeah. You know? Yeah, yeah. But as of right now, we're going in with miles, and we're going to go draft those receivers and those linemen, and we're going to rock out. We don't need to get nobody. Defense, fine. Corners, fine. Safeties, fine. Linebackers, fine. D-line, fine.

33:23We always get another interior D-lineman. Okay, maybe. But besides that, offensive line, receivers, fire. Did you need some or you had them? No, this is what we have, all the other stuff, but we need receivers and the O-line. I was just checking. Trying to tell you. Why is that? We're going to go ahead and jump into this super chat right here, brother. we got Duff and Tell gang you're what? Is that Canadian? Is that Canadian money? Somebody tell me. Oh, you know I don't. Yes, it is. That's Canadian money. That's Canadian money. That's Canadian money. Shout out. Which equates to I don't know. But I know it ain't I know it ain't too much less because if it was pesos, we might have been paying somebody.

34:27Thank you. You know what I'm saying? What they said? They said, Debo, you ever come to Canada, I'm right across the river from Detroit, Windsor, the real South Detroit. Ooh. Mm. Ooh. There ain't no South Detroit. That's just Canada. That's it. Hold on. That's it. I have been to what part of Canada was I in?

34:59I don't know. I was in, it might have been was it? Might have been Toronto. Love Toronto. Beautiful. Clean as I don't know what. Went to the Raptors vs. Cavs. It was another one too though. I actually see somebody up there and it's one of my therapy people I see up there. Oh, man. Where is it? I would have to look. Is it Calgary? I've been to Calgary, too. Okay. I've been to Calgary and Toronto. All the people I meet from Canada have been super nice. Always. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I think I stayed at the Marriott Super Bowl 40. Super Bowl 40 was in Canada? No, it was in Detroit. So you're looking at Canada.

35:53Oh. Stayed on the river. Across that Detroit River. Okay, okay, okay. Covenant Life. See you back. $5. Yes, sir. Joe. Yeah. Where was you at Friday, Covenant Life? I didn't even know where you was at. We ain't used to not seeing you. Joe. Yo. Fancy. see his sacks drop to 7.0. What are we missing on the tape that still makes him a nightmare for DBs? For DBs? For defenses. Covered it. He didn't... How many games did he play last year? TJ. Yeah, TJ. He lost me with the DB. I'm saying, but TJ, how many games did he play last year, Debo? So, like... Well, you got to realize he also came back earlier than they expected from that Prunstam lump.

36:48Yeah. I don't know if he was 100 % anyway.

36:54Did he do something earlier in the season? Did he have something happen earlier in the season? I think so. We just... This year, this is what I'm saying. You got to give him a little bit of the benefit of the doubt. It's like... We got seven, seven... The DB thing lost me. Maybe she's talking about old tackles. He got all the moves. He comes off the ball super fast. He got it all. He can bend. He got hands. He's explosive off the ball still. TJ's still a dog. It's just when he's, we just need him to be out there 16 games. When he's on the field, every time he produces, he's going to make something happen.

37:33He's going to make a forced fumble. He's going to bat a pass down. He's going to create a sack. TJ, why every time he's on the field, he's going to make an impact, especially when he's healthy. So I would just want to give him a little bit of the benefit of the doubt. A thousand percent. Seven sacks isn't what we look for when we look at TJ, but let's give him, we don't need seven sacks two years in a row while he's out there 16 games. If TJ's out there 16 games, let's hope he does, because now it gets to the point where you are making$40 million a year. It is what have you done for me lately.

38:03Last year was seven and a half. Cool, TJ, we know it is what it is. This year, obviously come back out there, do what you got to do, be a game changer, game record like I know that you can be because making that, that's what it applies. You know what I'm saying? So it's tough every single year just doing that, but right now, down year one time, now this year if TJ's not giving us those numbers, now we can really have that conversation. You know what I'm saying? But I'm expecting him to come out there, play the season, all the games, and just watch. He's going to get picks. He's going to have forced fumbles.

38:31He's going to have double-digit sacks, and that's just what you get when you get TJ Watt on the field. For sure, for sure. Joe, Browns suck at Browns suck. Oh, man. Go ahead. What are they talking about? The Browns, no, that's the username. I'm not saying that. It said Pac-Man looking like George Clinton. Browns suck came again with$10. He said, James, you've called the current defense trash in their alignment. Is that a lack of talent on the field or have the modern NFL rules just made your brand of football impossible to play? My comment of trash was their actual play. And yes, it was scheme, alignment, assignment.

39:20Like we don't know what we're looking at out there. And as far as where guys are supposed to feel because of how guys are playing or not playing, being taught, not taught schematically. Like, are you feeling where you're supposed to? Because we're seeing guys in two gaps. We're also seeing guys that just are obviously getting pushed back into people. And then we have guys that looks like they're filling the wrong gap. so it looked schematically that it was just incorrect and i know the alignment assignment things were not the same as what they were when i played hell i don't think they were same as when you played joe so looking at that it's just not even you know nine two it's just you know what i'm saying like i'm used to looking at something different and we'll actually have a chance to possibly talk to someone who knows what that defense actually looks like and they have trouble sorting through just looking at it through play because of how much of it has changed and you can't change a defense that is structured a certain way because when you change the defense you change the roles and positions of the players and all that you you open up other gaps every defense just like every offense has one weakness when you try and cover that one weakness you open up multiple other weaknesses and you know spots where your defense can be hurt and I think that's what we were dealing with a lot of in the last you know year or two I think you want to look at it both ways when you're saying trash like sometimes they just weren't playing well and then sometimes like you were saying people being in two gaps what is the system what is really going on.

41:10So I think it's a little bit of both. We know the players that we had out there, they're good enough. So we're just looking at the tape, wanting to know you got to be in your, when you say alignment, assignment technique, be in your spot when you're supposed to be there, have your eyes on the right place. So a lot of that stuff is some of that individuals, some of us have you been coached. So we're just going to be watching every week to see what we know. I feel like the players can make the plays. You just got to be able to do it every play. Because they have. Because we've seen them do it before.

41:37Yeah, yeah. Covenant Light, she said, James, after the 100-yard return in the Super Bowl, it was at 43. Most guys would be at the club. So the first one that I won. Listen, I ain't gonna lie to you. I don't remember getting off the bus. I got on the bus and somebody handed me a bottle or something.

45:33And I don't remember getting off the bus. I had family. Joe, I had family come down that drove because it was at Detroit. They came down and I guess they kicked it with me. I guess we went to casino. We did all that, you know, and they kicked it with me all night and got up the next morning. and my mom and dad like, hey, you I'm like, who? Your brother, your sister they came down and I'm like, no they didn't, I ain't seen them. So that was back when you had to wait for the film to, you know, like develop, you know what I'm saying? They had a little camera, the film got developed and I'm like, oh my god I'm sitting there like, yeah, hey out of it out of it.

46:13And I was like yo, if I win another one, I'm not I'm not drinking, I'm not doing, I want to remember. So So I did not drink. I wasn't at the gym, but after we got home, I did get to the gym the next day, though, for sure. Covenant, no, sorry. Browns Suck is back,$5. He said, hey, Browns, hey, Covenant Life, ask Joe the same question. What did he do after the Steelers won? Joe, what did you do after the Steelers won? What? What I threw to this after the Steelers won what? He's talking about the Super Bowl we won in. What did you do after we won? What was you doing? I wasn't a part of the Steelers organization or nothing like that.

47:04So I don't even, I was just chilling. The one thing I might have been out in, I don't even remember where I was at. I ain't going to lie. It wasn't a celebration for you, obviously. I mean, this was before I even, this was before I played, you know? So I was just like. You just stopped. Your season was over with in January and you didn't even know football played after December, the end of December, did you? I wasn't even in the, but I wasn't in the, no, I didn't do anything. I'm just saying you finally found out that it was football played after December, the end of December in 2017. That's when you found out, right?

47:43No, I... Funny man, Debo. Funny guy.

47:53Funny guy. No, I knew it was football. I was watching y 'all from wherever I was at in Miami in the offseason or California somewhere. Okay, okay. I was watching the courts. Back with tonight, she said, why don't Browns fans ever have to worry about their kids running away from home to join the circus? Oh, why? She said because they already spend every Sunday watching a group of clowns try to handle a football. Wow. Wow. Okay, covered it. Okay, covered it. Oh, she's funny. Now she's a comedian. Hold up, hold up. She's back again. Hold up. Hold up. She's back again. Ha, ha, ha. 20 bucks, Joe. She's firing me up for the...

48:40Go ahead. She said, James, why did Ocho stop trying to bribe the refs with a dollar? Why? What do you think? Because it was fine. She said, why did Ocho stop trying to bribe the refs with a dollar? I don't know. She said because he realized that if he really wanted to see a flag, all he had to do was stand within five feet of you while they were greeting the quarterback

49:15nope so much you yeah while I was greeting the quarterback oh while you were greeting the quarterback yeah they flagged the ball they flagged the dog piss out of me yeah they did cause you was leading with that leading with your dome no bro if you hit too hard if you hit too hard you're going to get a flag. You're going to get a flag. That's what it was. You got to realize, man. No, for sure. For sure. If it looks too bad. Listen, dude. They were trying to get out of that lawsuit they knew was coming up. That's what it was, man. They were trying to protect their money, man. Because prior to that, they making the big hits, videos on it.

49:51You got jacked. All that other stuff. Jacked up. Yes. Jacked up. All that. Like, come on, man. The picture of me popping him, they had it up already, selling it. They only took it down after I said something about it. That's it. Mm-hmm. Yep. Bruh. You was out there hitting them. Browns suck. At Browns suck. I'm just telling you the names. Yeah, you just about to allow. I guess that's how many times y 'all. Just read what he said. One over the career of y 'all organization. $10. Said, I enjoy the show so much, but these damn ads are out of control. By the way, the Steelers. Hit skip. By the way, the Steelers will be going to the playoffs this year and we will have number seven with Will Howard.

50:50What do you think of that? What do you think of that, Joe? I'm not mad at it. I'm not mad at it. I like Will. If Will come out there and give us what Ben gave us, if the defense come and give us, what the defense is known to be able to give us, we got a damn good shot at getting Shepham. Got a solid team, bro. The players, the names, everybody got to go out there and perform. Like, if you just looked at it on paper, paper looks amazing. Then we just need, like we said, that quarterback. If it was A-Rod in there, and I think this team that we have is better than the team that we had last year. Like, just as far as filling up, as far as cornerback, safety, on paper.

51:36So if everybody goes out there— I think we have a better group all around. I think we have a better group all around. So if you go out there and everybody goes out there and performs to the level everybody does the best at their job, what they can do. I'm not asking nobody to go out there and do above and beyond what we believe that they can do or what we've seen them do before. Like, everybody goes out there and locks in, plays on their thing, plays complimentary football, special teams. Complimentary football. You're going to be taught the right things. You're going to be – everybody's going to be teaching the same thing.

52:06You know what I'm saying? Yeah. You've always been in the mix. So, you know what I'm saying? Now it's like, get over the edge. Those games that you lose by a little – no, we find a way to win those games. And that's how you get to that 14 and 3. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's not too difficult. Yeah. Yeah. Covenant Light back again. $10. she said I missed y 'all because I had a physical that's why she missed okay she said I watched the replay and James leave Joe's children alone but she also said Joe coach him up but I am for the baby son's team the stillers yes thank you the stillers she did say okay the stillers team okay both teams I got two teams my boy My son was born in the land.

52:56Hey, I'm just saying, bro. She know who she for. We got another one right here. Canada back. Duff Intel gang, you're $27.99 Canadian. Love it. Joe, one of my buddies is a diehard Browns fan, and I'm obviously on the good side. Yes, sir, you are obviously on the good side. And when we signed you in 17, he was sad you left, but happy for you because he said they did you dirty. Please tell him it's okay to be a Stila. Wow. It is. It is. I appreciate you. It is okay. It is okay to be a Brown. It is okay to be a Stila. No, it's not. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. it's okay to be a stiller. Hey. Y 'all welcome me in there.

53:53It's okay to be around. Hey. It's essential to be a stiller. You would have never knew what it felt like. You would have went your whole career and you would have had nothing, nothing but the Browns to remember. You would have had nothing. You would have had no feel. You would have knew nothing about what legacy is. You would have knew nothing about. Oh, don't do that. I do no legacy. Of losing? Oh, gosh. You would have never even seen a Mombardian person. You got to walk by. Sex of them every day. Every day. Walk by in your facility.

54:36Legendary. A legacy. Legacy. It just sucks. I didn't get to, you know what? I didn't get to bring one to either squad. So it didn't matter. Those are other people's trophies. Those are your trophies. Those are Joe Green's trophies, you know. So I wasn't able to bring one to Cleveland. I wasn't able to bring one to Pittsburgh. I'm out there walking. I'm out there play pimping, walking by y 'all's trophies. So get out of here, Deebo. Don't want to hear. Don't want to hear. I'm already, you know, I'm trying. You know, but you would have never knew what it felt like to actually be like, yo, we got a chance of winning the Super Bowl every year.

55:16You know what it feels like to say it. You know what it feels like to say it. But actually be there when it's time that the group is made that's going. You know what it was? You know what it was, though, Debo? Because I was so freaking good in college that I had to get drafted to a team that wasn't as good yet. So when you go first round, seventh pick, sometimes you can't go to the best teams yet. You know what I'm saying? I was trying to go. You know what I'm saying? That's why. I think that's really good. I understand. That's why, okay. That's why I made sure that. I'm like, you know what? I'm going to go to a smaller school.

55:51Yeah. Don't draft. Go to the best team ever. I don't want to be drafted. I'm just going to be there. You know why? Because I want to go. Where they are. Already good. Organization that I know, know how to do it. Not a team that you was drafted by that still can't do it, ain't never did it, and will never be able to do it. Okay. You know? Okay. Yeah. Joe, you could have played there 30 years. And it still wouldn't have did it, huh? It still. It still wouldn't have made no difference, Joe. Unit. But you know what? It takes a 10. $2. It takes a 10. What do you say, Joe? It takes a 10. It takes a 10, but y 'all don't know how to build one over there in Cleveland.

56:33He's trying right now. Hopefully they're trying. No, he's not. We already went over there. Aaron Berry, he started tripping. He back there. He in McDonald's. He might do. He's talking about Ty Simpson, man. man, don't talk about Ty Simpson. We already got the quarterback spot right now. You were talking about the receivers. I'm happy. You're talking about the tackles. Okay. Talking about defense alignment. Okay. Yes, let's do it. Why are we talking about quarterback right now? I'm just saying, man. I'm just saying. I'm just saying, dude. We got unit 25-10. $2. He said, do you think we need to move 90 around more?

57:14I don't think we need to move 90 around more. I honestly just think the whole scheme of what we were doing, dude, was just so off and so changed. Like I said, I was saying before, like when you go and you change a defense and you have a guy doing something that he doesn't do anymore. Now, I'm going to keep it. Listen, we're going to get Dick LeBow on here, okay? That's what I'm saying. Okay, so we're going to get Dick LeBow on here. I was trying to hold it back, but we're going to get him on here, okay? But what you got to understand is this defense right here, it gives a certain look. Now, as long as you keep that look, you got three or four other defense that look exactly the same, but it's different people coming and different responsibilities.

58:04Now, if I change what one person is doing, I lose the effect of these three other defenses. Now they can tell them apart. We started changing stuff. And what is Dick LeBeau's defense? You can't do that. So you lose the threat of certain things. So if you go and change him around, you're not doing anything but letting them know that he's going to rush from this other side because it's not defenses where he's going to be on that side. When I would switch sides, Dick LeBow had two or three other defenses where I would be on that side doing something totally different from what the one is that they wanted me on that side for.

58:37Yes. So we lost a lot of that in that process. Look, let me tell you this. Let me get back to you keep on talking about the Browns legacy. How about Jim Brown? We did win the championship in 64. So you got to just, I don't care. It's not even called a Super Bowl. It's called a championship. I don't care. I said Super Bowl. I don't care. I don't care. You just got to put, I just got to say that. Okay. You got to say that. Brown's legacy ended when Super Bowl started. Yes. Because we just can't disrespect. Okay. Just can't disrespect Jim Brown. I mean, the Lions World 3 won three World Championships then too, so.

59:13But you know what? Talk about it. And the legacy ended. Okay. Listen. Listen. Barry couldn't even get one. Coldest. Couldn't even get one. Yeah, no, for sure. Now we couldn't even get one. And that's what I'm telling you, though. Do you think that it's— Do you think Matthew Stafford, prime example, he was in there the whole time, dodging and dealing, doing what he had to do for the Lions. Do you really think that it was just because of Matthew Stafford that didn't win a championship? Soon he go to the Rams. Team, organization, he's doing his 111th championship. Like, it's hard to win championships.

59:57There are amazing talents. Barry Sanders, like you said, Calvin, without one. All the Buffalo Bills that went there. Jim Kelly went there in a row, smacked. So, Deebo, feel honored that you was on the team with all the amazing players, with you, alongside you, the amazing coaches, the amazing staff, the amazing owner. Yes. It took everything. Listen, I've been trying to tell you this. It took everything. Hey, it could be done. Time is up. Time is up, man. I'm good. I'm good on this show. One, two, three. It was done by the chief to Mr. Rooney, old man Rooney, to Art. Now, hey, you know who next?

1:00:46Lil Dan, he going to be after that, baby. Yeah, Lil Dan on the way. I love Lil Dan. And Lil Dan have hit every part. And Lil Dan have been everywhere. Stop playing with me, man. Look here, man. We got two more we're going to hit through real quick. Okay. We got... Oh, my goodness. We got Chip 1. We got Chip. It's Chip. I think it's Chip. It's ACH1P. I want to say it's Chip. Deebo and Joe, if you had to build 17-0 defense with current and retired players. What would you want on that squad? Dude, who would I want on that squad? Listen, I'm just going to have to tell you, we're going to have to come back on that one.

1:01:30That's more time than we got. That's the segment. I want to run that. We can run that set. We'll run that back. We'll run that back. We'll get to y 'all on that one tomorrow. And coming to life, hit us back again, 10 logs. Do you, do y 'all cut, what? Do you, what? Y 'all have, Y 'all have cut up to, I still have cut up today. I'm here for it. I'm going to apply to drive the golf cart for Tiger Woods. Oh, my God. See? I'm going to apply to drive the golf cart for Tiger Woods. Joe, come down to the Masters and help me root for my boy, Bryson... DeChambeau. DeChambeau. DeChambeau. DeChambeau. DeChambeau.

1:02:11Yeah, DeChambeau. Who is Bryson DeChambeau? Bryson DeChambeau is a professional golfer that's nice as hell, Debo. And he probably might try to go win the Masters. Probably. I think he's won it before. Big time YouTuber. Great golfer. I follow Bryson DeChambeau. I'm going to be watching for sure. And Tiger Woods. Is Tiger going to be able to play? Brother, did you not just see Tiger Woods just flip his whip? They say he ain't hurt himself, so. But that's what I'm telling you, man. I love Tiger. Sad. Tiger, you got too much dough. You got to just get a driver. You got to. You got to. You don't need my man Tiger out here.

1:02:56Everybody wants Tiger to win, for sure. And then just flipping the car. It's a lot of car trouble. Listen, me? Bro, you don't need to be behind no wheel. That's what I'm saying. He has a plane. If you have a plane. Left and right. You flipping whips. You got too much paper. like I don't know what it is I know I'm the type of person I like to drive myself I like to drive myself that's what I'm saying but you gotta know if I can't drive I'm gonna let somebody else drive I tell you you know what Joe I take it back I'm the type of person that I would let somebody else drive me I just don't wanna pay for it but the kind of money Tiger got I wouldn't drive Tiger Woods that's why Joe don't drive Joe don't drive but out there I had to look Debo this is what I'm saying People like to drive.

1:03:44Yeah, you had a driver. Go ahead. Tell them you had a driver. Come all the way out to Cali. I did have a driver. I did have a driver. And that's because every time, sometimes I was for my kids, sometimes I was for family. But ever I went out and went to the golf course, I knew I was going to have a couple of beverages with my friends. So why would I even risk? If you're ever going to drink, people can get Ubers, all that. But like... You don't like Ubers. I don't mind Uber, but at the end of the day, the Ubers are getting expensive. Uber's$150 for a trip. James Lee said he want to drive because of privacy concerns.

1:04:17I understand that. But what you go and do is you go and get you an NDA. Yes. You get you an NDA and you get you something that roll up, lock up, soundproof the back end of it, whatever that is. I don't know. Unless you just don't want to go send it whoever you with. I don't know. but my thing is get you a non-disclosure agreement and keep it moving like that. And that's not hard. You ain't got a homeboy that you trust. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm going to hire my ace boom-com before I go and just out here reckless. I'm telling you. And you can have a 24-7. I'm talking about 24-7 driver.

1:04:58Yes. On command. On that money he got, I got a 24-7 driver. If I had that kind of joke, I ain't cooking. I ain't eating leftovers. I'm being like Tom Brady. Shock. They don't even know what a microwave, they don't even know what it is to warm up food no more. Tom said he ain't warmed up no food in like seven, eight years. A leftover. What? Yes, brother. That's all I eat. Moving. They moving, grooving, vibing, sliding in a different type of level. Bro, listen. Hey, we over, over, over. Over. What would our defense look like? Current? Retired? And are we talking about Steelers? Or are we talking about Browns? Are we talking about NFL overall? Steelers. Steelers. All right, back. Why am I going to go get somebody else when the greatest players in the world are stillers? Okay, no. I got some Browns that can go on the list. Who? I'm going to give you my— Dang, calm.
