In short

Steelers vs. Ravens AFC title game preview; Steelers’ must-win defensive plan vs. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry; Aaron Rodgers’ potential future with Pittsburgh; Trevon Diggs’ release and likely fit with the Packers; broader debate on Steelers coaching/player development.

Guests

Joe Hayden (co-host; former NFL player, discusses his Steelers DB coach Cornell Lake and later coaching experiences; talks about linebacker coach Keith Butler and teaching/knowledge); James “Deebo” Harrison (host; Steelers-focused perspective).

Key claims

Steelers can’t win unless they stop Ravens rushing—argues Ravens’ offense is 85–90% run success and that forcing Lamar to pass creates sack/turnover opportunities. Offense must run to control clock and keep defense rested; also must convert first downs with simple plays. Mike Tomlin won’t be fired regardless of outcome. Rodgers can “hold down the fort” but Steelers need a long-term franchise QB; avoid relying on him too long. Diggs’ release is framed as business/coach decision after injury/contract offseason participation issues; Packers can use him as a prove-it corner.

Notable examples

Cleveland’s strategy to make Lamar beat them passing (short fields, 45 rushing yards); Ravens rushing averages vs Bengals (125 in losses, ~190 in wins). Mentioned Steelers defensive history under Dick LeBeau (2004–2012 dominance). Diggs’ ACL recovery and offseason program clause; Packers picking him up immediately with Micah Parsons.

1:38Welcome back to Debo and Joe. I'm your host, James Debo Harrison, and I'm here with my co-host, Joe Hayden. Please make sure you guys like and subscribe. You don't want to miss nothing. How you doing today, Joe?

1:52James Harrison:Brother, brother Debo, I'm doing great, my guy. Good Friday, another day the Lord has made for me to be here. Yes. Good man. Happy New Year. Yes, happy New Year. Yes, yes. Blessed to see another year. Come on. I brought that thing in right on the bed, right on the couch. Just looked at it, me and my baby. Hold on. You said the bed first, then you said the couch. I thought you were trying to say something. No, no. I was on... No, no, no. Me and my baby girl was all chilling. I thought you were trying to time it up. Yeah, we was timing it up. No, it was good. Time it up. Happy New Year. Come on.

2:26James Harrison:Yeah. Come on. Look here, baby. Look. Hey, I got good news. What you got? Lamar says he is playing in the Steelers game. Hey, look here. Let me cook for you, man. Okay, I'm going to let you cook. I'm going to let you cook. Listen. Yes, I want Lamar to play. No, I am not crazy. We are three and six against Lamar Jackson in the regular season. Okay. And that's when he was more of 100 % truly healthy. Lamar says with his words, he's 100%. But with my eyes, I don't see it. You add that to the back issue that he's having right now. Yes. And the reason we had success against him early in the run game last time we played against him is because he was not using his legs and keeping the ball when they did the pre-option play.

3:32Yes, yes. Which allowed our outside linebackers to crash down. Okay. In the backside and helping the run game. They only had like 70 yards at halftime. Okay. And we didn't even have to start respecting it until the second half where he started keeping it. He started pulling it because he saw it. We was crashing down. We couldn't crash down no more. They ended the game with almost 220 yards rushing. Now, if we're going to win this game, the defense will have to win it. Period. Okay. Facts. We have to stop them from running the ball. I do not care if we have to put eight, nine, ten men in the box, eleven men in the box, twelve men in the box.

4:25I don't care what we need to do. If we don't stop the Ravens from rushing, we will not win this game. They are predicated on a 85 to 90 percent base of running the ball successfully. We know that. The AFC North knows that, or at least they should. If you look at it, Lamar is, what is it, 10-6. No, 10-5 against the Browns. And guess what, Joe? In the five losses against the Browns, or should I say your Browns, the Ravens only rushed for an average of 127 yards a game. on their losses on their losses five losses okay now in the 10 wins minus the what was the september game where the special teams sold yeah when they basically scored like 21 points almost without having to do anything they rushed for an average of a hundred and ninety one yards a game But Cleveland did have the right idea of that game.

5:40And they said, we're going to make Lamar beat us passing the ball. Okay. Ravens only had 45 yards rushing. And Lamar did just that and beat them passing the ball. But he did that. I'd rather take my chances on that. He did that with short fields. They only scored one touchdown where they had to drive the ball more than 37 yards, bro. Everything else, Cleveland held them to a field goal. And even with that, Lamar only had 225 yards passing. But it was four touchdowns. And again, that was made easy on three of them. The short fields. Because you start at the opponents 35-5-24, you're going to have great success.

6:31Now, let's go on to the Bengals. He's 11-3 against the Bengals. And in the three losses, Joe, guess what the rush average is per game?

6:42James Harrison:125 yards. 101 yards, Joe. Wow. And guess what it is in the 11 wins? 190. Almost 200 yards, bro. Yeah, you starting to get it. You on to something, bro. The Ravens have to run. You could do a grease. Bro, the Ravens have to run the ball. For sure. successfully period and lamar only is averaging 190 and 92 yards passing a game this year and here's the crazy thing here's the crazy thing on top of that for his whole career he's only like 195 194 for his whole career average per game of passing so if we don't go into this game and do everything we can to stop the run, yes, and force Lamar to pass, we are doomed.

7:41And what do Coach T say? He say, we playing, they playing checkers. We playing chess, right? Right? Okay. So let's go out here and play chess, okay? Because that's the chess move. And sometimes, like the playoff game that we had last year, it didn't look like chess. It looked like we was playing tic-tac-toe out there. You understand what I'm saying? Yes. Because we had, like, no way of stopping their run. And we changed what we were doing as far as how we went against the run. And the more time Lamar throws, the more opportunities we get to sack him. Yes. and along with that, I'm not saying to do this, but you could maybe push yourself up off of him by maybe placing your hand on that little tender spot on his back as you get up.

8:39A little lean on, you know. You know, along with the more he passes, we got possibilities for sack fumbles, turnovers, interceptions, maybe an interception return for a touchdown, a fumble, sack fumble. No, no. You know we good for that. Yes, we need turnovers, okay? Now, the offense, I need them to run the ball enough to use up the clock. Affect the first down runs. Give our defense enough time to rest as much as possible and hopefully get in field goal range a few times and give Boswell a chance to put points on the board. Like, because we have to do far better than we did against them rushing the ball last time at, what was it, two yards of tote?

9:33That ain't going to do it. They ain't going to cut it. That ain't going to get it done because we are not going to have a passing game, bro. We won't have DK. He was almost 150 yards of the passing game. Yeah. Along with Washington and possibly Austin, I hear now. That was almost 200 yards of a 284-yard total last time. Yep. We cannot allow the Ravens to beat us at what it is they are good at, period. And you know what? Coach LeBeau would always say, listen, we are going to stop what they do well. And we are going to sell out and stop that. And he would say, if it beat us, if we get beat, he said, that's on me.

10:25Yeah. And you know what? It worked for the most part. From the time 2004 to, I would say, 2012, he was allowed to run his defense as he wanted to run it. It was 100 percent Dick LeBeau fire zone, ran the way he wanted to run it with the players in the positions that he wanted to have in that positions that knew what they were doing. from that 0-4 to 12, we were a dominant. Give me the thing. From 0-4, 2004 to 2012. 2004, we were a number one defense. 2005, we were number four. Won the Super Bowl. Now, we had a slack in 2006. We dropped to nine, okay? That happens when you win the Super Bowl because you lose some players that you don't realize were key role players in your defense.

11:20They get to go get some money. 2007, we went to one. 2008, we were one. Won another Super Bowl. Again, you lose some of those key players that next year. 2009, we went to five. 2010, and we thought we were trash, bro. In 2009. 2010, we were two, okay? We lost the Super Bowl and we came back and was number one in 11 and number one in 12. Okay? And like I say this because you need to be able to have people, coaches in positions that know exactly what it is need to be done and do it and be ready to deal with whatever the outcome. And the crazy thing is like we're in a do or die game with the Raiders, bro.

12:14For sure. After they started 1-5, and they said that gave them a, what, 1 % chance of making the playoffs? We had a crazy game. And at the same time, during, what was it, week six? Because we had a bye. We were 4-1. And to be here, where we at right now, and last week against Cleveland, the worst team in our division, we had an opportunity to be able to rest our guys and have an extra week to get healthy. And, dude, it's crazy to me. What's crazy is TJ ain't even four weeks out from surgery,

12:55James Harrison:and you're talking about he's playing, bro. So, look, let me go ahead and hop in this thing. You're right. Everything you said, Debo, you're exactly correct. And I'll just go from when we're talking about what the Steelers needed to do, We didn't have to be in this position. We let the Browns, my Browns, you know what I'm saying, go out there and beat us. So, I have to go in and end the fight. Not at the time for that. No, no, no. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. You said it. So, I'm just saying what you said. Okay. There's just some things that we're in this position. We're fighting for our life.

13:25But with all that being said, we are playing the Ravens on this good night game for all the marbles.

13:33James Harrison:And the good thing is, like you said, Debo, I want us to, like, stop the run. We have to stop the run. Derrick Henry, when we beat him the first time, he ran the ball 25 times for 95 yards. Make Lamar have to pass it against us. We have to have eight in the box. We've done it before. Everybody has to be in their gaps, in their spots. And when we do pass the ball, we need to cover three. We could be in some zones. We don't have to play man-to-man every time. These single highs can be cover threes. They could be man-to-mans. But we need to have eight people in the box, everybody playing their gap, not peeking, not jumping, not getting pushed back.

14:08James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? So just consistency. Oh, no question, bro. We've seen them do it in games where they've made plays, where they stopped the run. And then I need them to do this for four quarters. If we get up, if we get up in the game, don't start acting cool. Don't start acting like it's sweet and start letting plays happen. No. We got to put our foot on their toes. For one thing on defense, because on the offensive side, we're missing 148 yards in seven catches that we had when we played. We're missing our DK. We're missing Calvin. We're missing Mount Washington. So, offense, we just need to make sure on first down when we get it to Gainwell, when we get it to Warren, these aren't just meaningless handoffs.

14:49James Harrison:We need to get three, four yards. Yes. You know what I'm saying? So, just don't give him the ball and he gets a loss of one. Now we're sitting at second 11. No, no, no. That makes us look crazy. Stay ahead of the sticks. You know what I'm saying? John O. Smith, get him in. Fire move. He's there. Get him involved. MVS, you know what I'm saying? And Thielen, Adam Thielen, let him be your friend. He's a vet. He knows when it's third and threes. He knows how to find the holes in the zones. So go to your guys. Pitch and dump, like A-Rod, it's fourth and two. Don't throw the fade to Scottie Walker down the sideline.

15:23James Harrison:Throw the little man-to-man beater to Thielen for two. So keep the drive alive. You know what I'm saying? Like, things like that, be simple. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. But again, at the same point in time, if he make that connection, we happy. So, you know, you take the good with the bad sometimes. But I'm with you. Scotty, that's not the guy I'm going to. But what I'm saying is, though, for us to keep our defense off of the field and us to just keep drives along, that's going to be good. But just, you know what I'm saying, that completion to extend the drive, get us another four downs, make the clock go away.

15:57James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? So when the Ravens do get out there and we get these three and outs, they're trying to run it, we stop them on first. Second and ten, they're trying to do some incomplete pass. Third, pin back. Stay in our rush lanes, too. When we do get Lamar, don't just get the going crazy, running up and he's able to skate out of there. No, we're pushing evenly. That front line, you're going straight at him. Outside, y 'all are containing. Don't go past the quarterback. You know what I'm saying? Stop. You know what I'm saying? You know those rushing lanes. So just the simple things when we're watching the defense, be on point.

16:26James Harrison:Know what you got to do. And it's going to be simple. We're playing single high, everybody in their gap, man to man or zone. He's going to have to throw the ball. making him beat us with his arm. Yes. And like I said, I do not believe he can do that. I see he can't. 195 yards, the average quarterback, what is it, 245 almost? You got to get an average. When you look at guys like Josh Allen and all those boys, they're more around 260, 270. You know, Goff and all that. Yeah, Stafford. You know, that's what you're looking at there. And I just, I don't, if I'm okay, if they beat us, Mark Jackson going out there and passing with 300 yards, I'm okay with that because we didn't let them come out there and do what it is that we know they could do.

17:23They had to come out and show us and do something else that was not in their character. I could be okay with that, okay?

17:30James Harrison:Because if they come down there and run it down our throats, you're like this. We know that's their game. You know what I'm saying? We coming in to stop this. Don't make them just establish, don't let them establish dominance. Like if them, like you said, I'd rather somebody throw the ball on me, then we got to figure out what the DBs and if they just running this, we can't stop it. Big man, we know they're running it. Why do they keep letting them move you out the way? You know what I'm saying? It's just a man-on-man thing with the run game. Yeah. It's a five-star matchup, right? Ain't that what he say?

17:59No, he say it's a five-star matchup because we in it, right? Because we in it. Right, okay. That's for sure. Let's go ahead and make sure this is a five-star matchup because we're in it, and we're not the footnote to a historic comeback by what would be only the fifth team to ever start one and five and make it into the postseason. Let us not be the five-star historic footnote of their comeback. Oh, Lord. We don't need that. We don't.

18:27James Harrison:Running a business is hard enough, so why make it harder with a dozen different apps that don't talk to each other? 20:55James Harrison:We'll be right back. the Moto Casino app today. We don't. And I mean, it's the Ravens. And I think, and I know, and I believe we can go in that journey and win. We should win. We can beat them, obviously. So I'm geek. I'm going to be watching the game. I'm going to be locked in. I'm going to be hyped. And I'm going to be watching to make sure we don't get blown off the ball. I know that's what you're going to be watching. On our O-line and our D-line, got to come to play. Like, those are the same. They're not injured. No. So, the D-line has to be stout. If we are not stout in the interior, it's going to be hard for us to hold anything.

21:38If half of your D-line is sitting back there getting pushed three, four yards deep, your linebackers can't get to where they need to go. They can't feel. Queen can't run free? No, not at all. Not at all. And that defense, as it was originally made, is meant for your linebackers to run and make the plays and be there.

22:02James Harrison:Dude, I don't know. What do you think about? So if it would win, what happens with Coach T, you think, with this game after? Oh, Coach T, he ain't going nowhere. I'm sorry to have to tell you people. Yes, I know. I'm sorry to have to tell you people. But listen, he is not going no more. It don't matter if Coach T wins or loses this game. The decision of him to be there or not be there is going to be his decision. He will be there next year if you are counting on the Steelers to fire him. That is not going to happen. And I'm going to be 100 % honest with you. Bro, if I'm him, if I'm him, I'm not walking away from that money.

22:49I'm a head coach. my money is guaranteed you are going to have to fire me because that means it's still guaranteed now if I decide to walk away then that's no longer guaranteed I'm not leaving no money on the table

23:05James Harrison:I think with Coach T he got it's only like I'm not only but it's probably 10 mil that he probably make around a year he's going to be able to if he leaves he can go sign he's going to sign a 90 million dollar joint somewhere 80 million dollars because he's now again like i said that would be his option now i'm not i'm not i'm not go you know i'm not go go ahead and you know like they say you know a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush now he he got to get the opportunity if i if it's me yo i got an opportunity to look out there and see what i can get now if i see i can go out there and get it now yeah all right i go ahead and and walk away i know i could come back you know and get something bigger but at the end of the day the Steelers will not fire Mike Tomlin no matter what the outcome of this game is.

23:56Like, that is 100 % given. All right? Patrick McQueen, he said, what's on stake against the Ravens, his former team? He said, when you look at the whole building, when you look at the people who work here, them getting the extra check, I think a lot of people don't know this. Like, like a lot of teams, if not all of them, their, their staff and all that stuff, their, their bonuses and stuff is based on how well your team does leading and going into the playoffs. I know we are one of them. And that's where he's saying, you know, you know, teammates who aren't working a whole bunch or making a ton of money, you know, getting another check is big for them.

24:35And it's the same thing with, you know, with the staff, just trying to win, trying to, trying to be legendary, trying to build your legacy up and do whatever it takes to get out there. It's everything. I don't know. I mean, it is what it is. I mean, I understand, you know, I ain't got no. I mean, that's what you say. I mean, the Steelers, that's what it is, bro. Aaron, but Aaron, they asked Aaron about, you know, next year. Like, you know, what they said, they asked him, you know, about if this was his last game of his career, you know, and he basically left it open. How do you feel about Aaron Rodgers possibly coming back next year?

25:20James Harrison:I mean, after I've seen Phillip Rivers now go out there and play at 44, I wouldn't be mad at having Aaron Rodgers there. He showed that he can still do it. He can still make the throws. He's protected when he has competent receivers out there. He still looks like Aaron Rodgers to me. I know for the Steelers long term, if they want to do it, he's not going to be there for their long term future. So we're going year by year. And I think next year would definitely be A-Rod's probably last year of being a legitimate, solid quarterback. But if it's if it's up to A-Rod, if he wants to come back and I'm not mad at what he's looked like, he can play starting quarterback for sure for the Steelers.

26:02James Harrison:It's not A-Rod's fault. I feel like that we're losing. You know what I'm saying? Or that hasn't been that good. So if it was for him to come back and a friendly deal, you know what I'm saying? You got a solid veteran quarterback that's, you know what I'm saying, getting it to the players, getting people in positions. I'm not mad at it. But in the long term, you know we need a young guy that's ready to, you know what I'm saying, be a franchise quarterback for the next 10 years, 15 years, like a C.J. Strout. You know what I'm saying? The Bengals found their Joe Burrow. Browns, we're still looking to see what we could do.

26:30James Harrison:But just a quarterback that you know, you can put a name on that dude, Justin Herbert. You know what I'm saying? You just got a guy that even if you haven't been winning all the games, you know you got your quarterback. So with A-Rod saying he will come back for one more year, I wouldn't do that. He's not saying he would. He's saying he left it open. He left it open? I'm not mad at him leaving it open. Leave it open, A-Rod. I'll leave it open too. I'm ready to dance with you if you're ready to dance with the Steelers. But at the same time. He had to talk to, you know, wife, make a decision, you know, all that.

26:56James Harrison:Oh, for sure, for sure. And he just did that this offseason. He took his time, you know what I'm saying? And I think that's one thing that the Steelers know too. he's going to do his own thing so at the same time you still got to be doing all of your work like don't put all your eggs in that basket you know i'm saying you're still doing all your due diligence trying to get a franchise quarterback to the team because you know it aaron rogers is not going to be the guy for long term but he can hold down the fort you know i'm saying this year and then maybe next year i understand i understand so for me personally i like the idea because like you said we do not have a quarterback okay but i don't like the idea if we have an option to get a quarterback that is younger and in the nfl right now take it and and i believe that you know with the current defense we have or should i say defensive ranking that we have out a veteran quarterback we will be in the bottom and maybe that's what we need bro you know because that's just gonna have us you know picking in the middle losing a chance of getting a quarterback a franchise quarterback at least in the draft next year but I also don't know if there's one available that would be worth getting or trying to get or move up to get you know in the upcoming you know draft of of next year i can't i can't be on the losing to try to get the number one pick so you can try understand what you're saying bro but you know what I'm saying?

28:44I also don't want to do this, though. I also don't want to be back where we are now, where we're 500, or hell, worse. Worse would be even better because that puts us even lower in the draft with no chance of drafting anyone that would be a franchise quarterback. And, bruh,

29:10I think this is what it is bro we need to get ready okay as Stiller fans to be down for a couple years to be able to come back up and it's going to look hopefully something like what the Patriots did over the last few years they're going to be down they're going to get a new coach they're going to come back up and they're going to be where they are now What pick was Drake May? That is something that we could do.

29:46James Harrison:Do you know what pick Drake May was? I don't know. I got to find out what pick this is. I know this chat. And again, we have to be able to pick. I said it last time. You got to draft right. You got to be able to draft right. I know we have a horrible time with what we have right now of drafting right. Only two players that have been with the Steelers since we won our last playoff game in 2016 that were drafted in the first two rounds and going on to receive long-term extended deals when the time came up. That is a horrible rate. I mean, we're looking at the receivers, and when I'm just knocking off the top of my head, when I was there, my good man, Deontay Johnson, was there hooping, didn't get another deal, Juju.

30:33James Harrison:And then, I mean, Claypool, it just didn't pan out, but he went early too. So, like, those are just high draft picks. Claypool didn't pan out. How many receivers we done got, bro, that just didn't pan out? Why is that, bro? I don't know, brother. We always get receivers that don't pan out. What's the common denominator with these receivers? This is the part, though. D-Bo, when I came, when I first got drafted and I started looking at the Steelers, though, it was always, that was when A.B., Mike Wallace, and Emmanuel Sanders, them dudes was hoopers. So that's why in 16 or 17 when I came over there, and then they had Martavius Bryant.

31:14James Harrison:He ended up switching out. So it went to Martavius Bryant, AB, and then, damn, my mouth of my ass. Another one. But then Juju was there too, and they drafted Juju. So, I mean, it hasn't been, it's not until recent from 17 kind of on to where he's starting to kind of missing and getting rid of those receivers and not being able to keep them. I'm talking about the first one and two. And the receivers, like, this receiver has a problem. It's an attitude issue. It's a behavioral issue. It's this, it's that. You're picking ballers. Why are we getting all these receivers that are having these issues and not being able to keep them for fear of that or just not being able to keep them because they didn't pan out the way we wanted to?

32:02What's the common denominator?

32:07Yeah. What do you think? Your coaching staff Yes Like, come on We kill This receiver is bad That receiver is bad That receiver What are we talking What? They're not bad receivers Like, come on Like, that don't That don't make no sense, bro Like I said Drake May I think it was third or fourth pick 24? Oh, man Third pick, 24, bro

32:35James Harrison:Okay, got to be more careful So they went, they had to be that trash. Bruh. And what they do. They went and got somebody that could do what they needed to do. And he got, he went out, he got coaches. He got coaches that he knew could do what they needed to do. He got coaches that had knowledge. Like, that's the first thing he did. He went and started getting his staff, dude. Like, we, what do we have over there, bruh? Like, honestly, what do we have over there? Like, Mike been there almost 20 years. Yeah. And he got one tree in his coaching tree. Not one limb. Like, come on. Look at Detroit. Detroit already, he already got like two or three head coaches.

33:24He got like two head coaches. And, hell, Randall L, I think he the OC in Chicago with the other coach that left.

33:34James Harrison:Yeah. you're making good points you gotta put coaches in position to be able to help you and not worry about credit or anything else being taken from you that's your credit because you put them in that position

33:52like Belichick's tree is out of control like dude these are that's the only common denominator that I'm looking at right now dude

34:02James Harrison:nah I feel you with the trees because I remember we had Belichick all over the place. Where did Belichick come from? Parcells? Like, come on.

34:17James Harrison:But do you think A-Rod's going to return?

34:22Do I think he's going to return? Yes. I think that... Oh, man. Do I...

34:31I don't know, bro.

34:32James Harrison:would you be would you would you would you want him to return yes because if we don't we got nobody yes yes we got nobody but again i'm i'm i'm i'm i'm six and one half a dozen other i feel like we're going to have to have that down year that down you know that that we go be in the basement for a year or two to where we can get that that that quarterback and have that that coach and coaching staff that can develop, you know, those players into what it is that they can become, you know? No, I feel you, Debo. I feel it. It's that coaches go a long way. And, like, you can tell, like, when Braybo comes in there and really just switches some stuff up over there in New England, you know what I'm saying?

35:18James Harrison:Like, you might need that. There's a great coaches, a leadership, you know, like, just. It's not might need. You do need. You do need. You do need. because we've been in the first thing I need. Joe, who was your coach? Who was your coach, your DB coach in Pittsburgh, Joe? Did you go in there as soon as you saw and heard your DB coach and read his name and said, oh, I'm automatically bought in? The first one, Cornell Lake. Yes. Okay. The first one I had was Lake, and Lake was so wild. And what happened after that? He left, and I had not had scrap, and I was not excited at all. I promise you, and this is no disrespect.

35:55James Harrison:respect one of the great person had a great time with him not a good defensive back coach I did not learn anything he kind of was her my learning of the game he was only there for a year you know I'm saying then we switched but like I was really coaching myself and really getting my dbs right really had to tap in so for sure it was not we were not on the same page that was a tough struggling year after Lake left and we got scrapped for sure definitely difficult you know what I'm saying but I'm just keeping it by being with you right and that's and that's what I'm talking about dude like yeah I understand bringing guys up you know letting guys get in there that wouldn't normally have the opportunity but you've done that for so long and nothing's come from it I know players I won't name and they're like yo the coach that I have he ain't did nothing to develop me.

36:51I do more in the off season to develop myself than they have did in the last whatever two, three years that they were there.

37:00James Harrison:No, for sure. You have done nothing to advance and develop me as a player. So why are they in there? I don't know. I don't know. Some team mean, some, you can't, have you had a bad coach before on teams and when you've been in Cincinnati ever? Or have you ever had a bad coach? I had a bad coach my first year in Pittsburgh. Didn't like him. Okay. Didn't like him at all. Thought he could talk to me any kind of way. When I'm saying a bad coach, though, I'm talking about did they know the game, though? Like, I'm talking bad coach like this. You're like, man, this is going to really know what he's talking about.

37:38No, I don't think he was a teacher like that. I'm going to tell you right now, and I keep telling everybody this. Keith Butler is the coldest linebacker coach I ever had in my life, okay? you understand that? Like that is the coldest linebacker coach I had in my life. And everybody goes, well, he wasn't nothing as a D coordinator. And I don't know what it was. It's the coordinator. Again, he never got an opportunity to do it. He had it in name. He had it in name. He didn't get to operate in it as far as doing the job itself. And I think we have a lot of that going on over there in Pittsburgh still today.

38:20James Harrison:They all have to figure it out. Joe Burrow, man. Y 'all, you know, y 'all Browns, y 'all play Joe Burrow. Yes, we do. Yo said, hey, man, I'm not going to go out of my way to not let him get the sack record. There's going to be situations where a sack is the best of the bad outcomes of that play. Oh, yeah, he getting sacked. He getting sacked. Oh, yeah. He going to accept it. Oh, yeah. He going to give us that breath. He going to give us that breath off. He might slide into it. He gonna give you that breath far. He gonna slide into it. He said he ain't gonna slide into it, but he ain't about to go ahead.

38:57I ain't gonna avoid it too crazy. Yeah, go ahead. He said, I ain't gonna lose to get totally out the way and make it look worse than what it is. I understand what he's saying. Mm-hmm, me too. I understand what he's saying. Me too. But I don't know, man. Joe might go out there and slank that thing on y 'all. Y 'all might not be able to even get to him because you know they got both their receivers back.

39:22James Harrison:Oh, man. I'm going to check and see what they line talking about, man. I'm going to check and see and make sure all they linemen intact. Okay. Yeah, we got to check and make sure Burrow's left tackle and right tackle are intact. Listen, man, he ain't even got to hold it that long. He just go pop, pop, pop. He going to get that thing out faster than Rodgers. But you know what time it is? We got Denzel Ward. They got, we got Campbell, we got, we got my man Campbell out there. He can't cover two. He can't cover two. Listen, man, you telling me he go, he go, he go, he go, he go strap. He go strap Chase and.

39:56Brother, brother, brother, brother, brother.

40:00James Harrison:Gamble on Higgins. We got Ward over there on Chase. Not like it's going to be like, he's not going to, he's not going to just lock him. That's what I'm talking about. That's good on good. He's going to win his ops. You know he got to, man, don't even talk about Ward. Don't even look at Ward crazy. Ward took the pick six back. 100 yards on them. Chase tried to throw a your man Burrow tried to throw a out route. Boom. Let me get that. 101 yards. Don't play with that man. Don't play with that man. Don't play with that man. It was late. He ain't jumping. It was late. I'm trying to figure out why they keep throwing it at him.

40:29James Harrison:Don't throw it on that side. Y 'all got so lucky against us. It was unbelievable, bro. That was, you know. Look. Look. This happened. The Steelers, bro. I'm not going to lie. Like you said, Debo, y 'all, Herbic, they had to pick six. That's my good man. I was like, dang. You see how you just, oh, man. That's crazy, Joe. Debo, I'm really being serious. That's wild. Because if the Steelers would have won, I'd have came in the Jones just like, okay, look at that. Browns went out there and lost, and the Steelers won. Let's go Steelers. That's what I would have said, genuinely. I don't know if you believe me.

41:16Oh, I know you would have said that, but you remember you flipped the whole script. This one, my heart in Cleveland. Because you know why, bro? Because you're so disrespectful.

41:25James Harrison:My heart in Cleveland. Yeah. Man, let's go over here to another DB, man. Trayvon Diggs was released by the Cowboys, man. So, I guess, how you say that dude's name? Schottenheimer? Schottenheimer. Yeah, this is the first time Trayvon Diggs approached him about, I guess, wanting to stay in Washington, D.C. after they won the game. I guess he ended up staying there, whatever that was. But what's your, how do I say, what's your take on this? I mean, I already know. Dude was what, injured in like 23. He ended up doing an ACL or something. He came back 24. I think he started on the pup list, right? Yeah.

42:15Yeah. So obviously during that process, he probably thought he came back too soon. He wasn't 100%, wasn't able to get back to playing at the label that he played because that ended up getting him fined, I think, in the 24 season because he had a clause in his contract where he had to be there for 85 % of the offseason program. And he was like, nah, I'm taking off. I'm going to do what I need to do you know that's best for my body you know Jerry did his thing through his press conference was like hey you know that ain't it and then I think the next day Parsons and Diggs I guess had like a little joint press conference and you know I guess Parsons backed Diggs and it's like yo you gotta do what's best for you you know your body whatever it is line was kind of drawn in the sand so to speak and then along with that I guess they had another player that they started, you know, liking better.

43:12It's business, business, business. Where are you at in it?

43:18James Harrison:So as far as the trying to stay at home or trying to stay when you went and played in D.C., sometimes if y 'all are off the next day, coaches will probably let the vet. Like if you're a vet or something, you know what I'm saying? Man, boom, my family's here. I'm going to fly back there to then just get back on the plane and fly back. Some of it just makes sense. So if you have a relationship with the coach and he knows you're about to go spend time with your family, just where you're from. Running a business is hard enough. Discover's accepted where I like to shop. Come on, baby, get with the times. Right, so we shouldn't get the parachute pants? These are making a comeback. I think. Discover is accepted at 99 % of places that take credit cards nationwide. Based on the February 2025 Nielsen report. They played the Cowboys.

45:45James Harrison:I can see how a coach would let it happen. Some coaches will just be like this. No. What you're doing is you're going to fly back with the team. You know what I'm saying? Fly back with the team, and then when you get there, then you can fly. Then you get on your own plane, fly back out there, but just make sure you got to do what you got to do. So some coaches are just strict like that. They like, no, like that's not how we're rocking. Some coaches will let the players get away with other little stuff like that. So with that, that's a coach's decision. You know what I'm saying? He can tell you, no, everybody's getting back on the plane.

46:14James Harrison:But that's the same thing with some coaches are players' coaches. Some coaches like have – they'll let certain dudes do certain things. And you're thinking, I'm a player that's making$25 million. I signed a$97 million contract. I'm handling my business. Or coaches probably like, you're not hooping like that. You are making$97 million. You're going to fly back with the team and get yourself a PJ and fly back if you want to. Like, you're going to do that on your own dime. So coaches can be petty. You know what I'm saying? If it's a good player and you have a good relationship, no, smooth. Good player, not playing.

46:41James Harrison:Coaches feel some type of way. You're flying back with the team. Then you're going to go back. You know what I'm saying? So those situations, I could definitely see how it happened. Been involved with those for sure. So I don't see nothing wrong with the coach. You know what I'm saying? Because it is what it is, man. This is a team. We're flying back. This is nobody's thing. You know what I'm saying? Cool. Everybody back on the plane. Everybody get back. I'm setting up my flight. So when I get off of there, I'm not even leaving the airport. I'm just getting on the plane. And I'm going back. I'm going from the FBO to the actual airport.

47:11James Harrison:I'm going to the actual jump. You know what I'm saying? So however you want to do it, you can handle your business. Coach is going to take, that's the coach's decision. You know what I'm saying? No, you're not going back. We're doing this. So with that, I think that's kind of what it was. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think, I think Sean and Hyreem said they had, you know, previous conversations, tough conversations, some good, some bad. But I think this was something where, you know, the writing was on the wall. You know, they had already really made a decision that they were going to let him go after the end of the year.

47:44And he's like, yo, I got one game left. Like, what do I care? I mean, I don't, you know, I don't, I wouldn't have did that. I'm like, yo, because now they could still find him. You know what I'm saying? It would be super petty, but they could still find him. But they ended up releasing him. And I guess the Packers picked him up.

48:08James Harrison:Packers picked him up instantly. He out there in Green Bay with Micah Parsons chilling. Yeah. My dog Micah Parsons. Hey, I guarantee you Micah was like, yo, go ahead and get him. Oh. He had a hundred. He ready to go. Instantly. How many years he got left on his deal? He only got, I think this is the last of the guarantee. It's only the last of the guarantee. So the Green Bay Packers got to pay him the rest of his contract for this game. It's like$500 ,000, something like that. And then next year they can release him. Hey, you can double dip though. No, no, they can release him, I'm saying, or they can restructure his deal.

48:47James Harrison:Because right now he don't have nothing. So they can basically, Diggs is going into, He signed a deal there. You know what I'm saying? Got his bag. They weren't rocking. It's kind of where, when I look at the cornerback and where Diggs is at, he can reinvent himself now when he's going to go hopefully hoop out for the Green Bay Packers where he can get a contract with a good team where now you can be happy, consistent, try to see if they can give you a good. But I'm seeing if Green Bay is going to give him a one-year deal, give him a two-year deal, a three-year deal. Is it a prove-it year? You know what I'm saying?

49:18James Harrison:I believe it's a prove-it year. I'm with you on that. I'm looking at like a 115, you know what I'm saying? Let's see what you can do. Because the highest corners are making 30. He was making 20 million. So 115, see what you can do, and then be able to get him an extension. And now, like, he can re-inventerate himself playing with a good team, good situation. So I'm looking at Diggs like, bro, you got your bag. But now, like, if you want to do it again and really show that you are locked down, you got to go out here right now. You know what I'm saying? Ball out. And then, boom, you're right back to the table, showing that you're still that dude.

49:48James Harrison:Because he's only his fifth year in the league, bro. This is right around it. You good. I think it's six. Six, 15, 20, 28. He's not even that old. So, you know, hey, listen, you know how they be tripping now when you get close to that 3-0. But I'm saying right now, that's what he can hit him for now and to get another like three year. You just got to ball out, Diggs. You got to ball out. Oh, yeah. I mean, I think that would be idea. It's just he got to get that opportunity. opportunity because whatever he have left on his deal like they picked him up so they kind of like got to let him go to restructure it right no they picked they picked up his they picked him up so they picked up his contract right picked up the five year 97 and that's going to be it's like 500 000 a game so they paying him that for this game and then next year he would probably be making 20 million dollars but they get to renegotiate all right that's what i'm saying they're going You have to renegotiate, restructure that.

50:43Yeah, restructure. Because there's no way I'm going to pay you that, especially after the last couple of years. Oh, no, no, for sure. They can restructure it or they can release them.

50:52James Harrison:Right, so you picked him up just to release him. No, I think you picked him up to do your thing, Diggs, and then be working on that renegotiation. You know what I'm saying? Because then you're going to get some guaranteed money. You know what I'm saying? Diggs is walking into a brand new contract, which I'm looking at it. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I guess, yeah. You can look at it like that, especially going in. He probably already know the inside. Like, yo, you come here, but, you know, you ain't go get what you got coming. No, no, no. We're going to rip that deal up, and we're going to restructure something.

51:23James Harrison:So you're going to get guaranteed money. It's your first year on your new contract. But I don't know what it is. You know what I'm saying? It might be one for 15. Just here. Prove it here. You know what I'm saying? See what you can do. You never know. Yeah, Drake, maybe he respond to his critics saying they had an easy schedule. He said, we play in the NFL. He said every team has great players. It's not like we're playing Foxboro High School down the road. Why are you banging on the little high school team down the road, man? He's just letting them know they're not in the same class as him. It's high school.

51:55James Harrison:It's Little League, man. It's the big boy leagues, like, every week. Hey, how they catch a straight-up? How they catch a straight-up? That's crazy. He did. He did. Yeah, I understand what he's saying. Like, it is what it is. Can't nobody. You can't make your schedule. It ain't your fault that the teams y 'all ended up, you know, getting was – ended up being, you know, some of the lower winning teams in the league. But you still – like he said, you still got to go out there and play. You still got to win. Look what we did against the Browns.

52:28James Harrison:Like – Hey, any given Sunday, that's why we watch the games, bro. This – The Falcons and Rams. All in. Last seconds. this is why you play the game yes Steve-O you never know you play to win do you think the other teams are trying to lose I could say maybe I don't know about owners or trying to get the draft picks but I know the players that are actually out on the field do not want to lose do not want to get embarrassed they're trying to succeed they're trying to succeed that's going to mess my money up so I respect the teams and when you go out there with the Patriots beat who you supposed to beat.

53:10James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? Like, don't leave it out. Don't play down to your competition to where you make it. Next thing you know, you start looking crazy and you lose. So then you go down there and beat, what do they say? Beat a fly with a sledgehammer. You just got to go do it. And don't give up. No way. No way. Give up? I can't, I don't even know. I don't even know what that means. I'm not even give up, but I'm saying like, start playing that backup defense. Stop playing that. Oh, no, y 'all could take 15, 20. Prevent defense prevents you from winning. That's what I'm talking about. Preventing you from winning.

53:42That's what it do. Prevent defense. It prevents you from winning the game. Do not play that. That is not what we're doing. Joe. You know what time it is. Play a face. Oh, oh, oh. Presented by a prize.

54:09Joe! Yo! I made my picks for Sunday's Raiders. Man, aye. I, aye. And you either play my lineup or you fade it, and you gonna have to tell me why. Lamar Jackson is not, not going more. He is going less than 212. Yes, he is. Derrick Henry is gonna go more than 91. It's going to be very hard to stop that man from getting 100 yards when they go get him the ball 30 times.

54:48James Harrison:They're going to have to give it to 30 because last time he had 94 yards for 25 carries. I'm thinking they're going to have to give it to him at least 30. Okay. 30 for 95, 30 for 94. So I can see over 91, but I'm really pissing me off because I don't even want him to have 90. I don't want him to have it. I know. We talking paper on the line, Joe. Oh, we talking playoff. I can't go out here and just give it up. Aaron Rodgers. Less. Oh, my. Less, bro. Yeah. I mean, you got to. It's less, bro. It's going to be a lot of dumps. Cleveland. What was Cleveland? 160 something? 160 something. And look at it.

55:29The last game we played against the Ravens, it was 284. We're going to need that. We missing right now.

55:39James Harrison:Gainwell and Warren are going to have to run for a buck 70 between between the two. 50 each receiving. OK, yes. And then we still was in a dog. Hold up, man. I totally forgot about the the catch that wasn't a catch that we would have went crazy if it was us. The likely joint. Yes. The interception fumble, whatever, that was down. He got to get another foot. Bruh, we would lose our mind if that was us. And then the roughing the snapper, that wasn't a roughing. That was terrible. He didn't even touch the long snapper. Dude. We'll take it, though. And the other running back, he go come in for the spell, and he go get another 10 carries, if they don't run that ball 40 times at least, they done went on ahead and allowed whoever it is that make that decision to help them lose the game.

56:47I'm hoping they do do that because I'm willing, I'm actually willing to lose this to win. but I'm not I'm not optimistic that it's going to happen Lamar is playing which is great

57:03James Harrison:Lamar is playing which is great okay we don't we need Lamar I like all of these Debo I like all of them I knew you would like it man I like all of these and I like all of these in a win this is a key This is a key. This is going to be a key to victory. But just like the over rushing yards, they're going to have to run the ball a lot. But just break over because it's for the bread. Right. They got 40 carries. It's going to be hard to keep somebody under 120 yards, 40 carries. They got 40 carries. It's going to be hard. But it is easily winnable if you keep them within that three-yard range. Yeah Debo All I'm telling you is We're gonna watch this game And we have to win First down Everybody watch him Watch first down We have to watch Listen y 'all heard what he said Man he about to play for your boy Look here Download the app today And use the code DeboJoe To get$50 in lineups After your first$5 lineup That code Debo and Joe Your mama Your papa Everybody Let them know Let them know Come on through and let's go.

58:42James Harrison:We need to get Firemoo and Jonu. Firemuth and John New, both of them. Easily. Easily. It's like we discovered Washington and forgot about Firemuth. Every time the last game against the Browns, every drive we made, Firemuth across the middle was dominating. Don't forget about him. He's nice. So, she said if the defense don't take Henry out, we're done. We don't need to take him out. We just need to stop him from running the ball. That's all. For sure. Everybody stay in your lane. Okay. I would think the other team, Debo. I'm just making sure because you're a Browns fan sometimes. 20, 20, 20, 20, 10. They told the Ravens they didn't do that for them. So, I'm pretty. 2010, Steelers. I ain't going to lie to you, bro. I'm going to have to go with 12 to 6 us. It ain't number field goals. Ooh, I like that. It ain't number field goals. We got to stop them boys from running the ball. I wrote it down. You went 12-6. I went 20-10. We got to stop them boys from running the ball, man.

1:01:48We got to. Okay? We got to stop them boys from running the ball. If we do not stop them from running the ball, it's going to be a long night. Actually, it'll be a short night, but it's going to be a long night because the clock will keep running. They will keep running.
