In short

Victory Monday recap of the Steelers’ win over the Colts, with heavy focus on Pittsburgh’s defense, turnovers, and run stopping; plus discussion of other NFL games and general team/league talk.

Guests/backgrounds

The episode is hosted by James “Deebo” Harrison with co-host Joe Hayden. No other guests are named in the transcript.

Key claims

Steelers won by “big game hunting” defense—stopping Jonathan Taylor (45 rushing yards on 14 carries) and sacking him six times; forcing turnovers and limiting the Colts’ offense to 55 rushing yards total and 345 passing yards with only 2 receivers reaching 100 yards each. Hosts argue Steelers’ offense underperformed in yardage/time of possession (225 total yards) and needs better run game consistency. They also criticize defensive penalties/hand-fighting (PIs) and eye-discipline errors in man coverage.

Notable examples

Jalen Ramsey at safety; T.J. Watt sack-fumble recovery; turnovers leading to Steelers touchdowns; multiple Colts fourth-down conversions being stopped; a late-game onside kick attempt; discussion of Bengals vs. Bears and other playoff-relevant games.

1:44Welcome back to Debo and Joe on this Victory Monday. I'm your host, James Debo Harrison, and I'm here with my co-host, Joe Hayden. Please make sure you guys like and subscribe. You don't want to miss nothing. Hey, how you doing today, y 'all?

2:02James Harrison:I'm doing good, Brother Debo, man. You know, great. Sunday, I know you was feeling good. I was answering me. You were talking back and forth. The vibes were on 1 ,000. You know what I'm saying? So, yeah, I'm feeling great. No question, baby. Feeling real good. In case y 'all didn't know, So, Distillers went on ahead and we jumped on somebody's neck. We right now. We, we, we, we. You see me? I got Distillers jersey on. Come on, the bros. Okay, okay, okay. We, Distillers went on ahead and jumped on somebody's neck. Now, we going to go ahead and get into everything, man. But I'm going to tell you, I really liked how we even ended the coin toss.

2:46You know what we did? we won the toss and we said we want the ball. You know what that mean? That means we about to run this ball down your throat or we gonna go down here and score. That's the most disrespectful thing you could do in a coin toss,

2:59James Harrison:right? I think so. I agree. A thousand percent. You taking the ball off the rip, not worrying about getting the halftime. You're like, nah, I'm gonna put my offense on the field and we about to score off rip. And then we go out there and do a damn thing. We don't do a damn thing. Good thought. Great thought. Great. Hey, I like the mindset. I like how you were approaching. First play of the game. But look, off the fingertips, it could have been different. It could have started off great. You know, it was wide open a little bit. You know, I think you got to catch that. You got to catch that. Got to.

3:35Colts get the ball. First play, they hit us in the head for a quick 10. And then we get them backed up third down at 11. And they get one on us for 18. I can't tell what's going on. Nephew, Lil Peasy, man, I don't know what was going on, but I'm not a DB, so you tell me. Like, once he got beat right there, wouldn't you just, like, track behind him instead of picking a side? I don't know how that process goes. How do that go?

4:01James Harrison:On this one, I think we was in, it looked like they were in, on this time they weren't in two man. So he needed to just be outside. It was a good route. He beat him on the route. So this one was just a man-to-man good play. He could have stayed on his outside shoulder trying to get him to the inside, but this one, he kind of gave him a good move on the top of the route. This was single high. So he just didn't need to be underneath. This one, he had to take care of the fade ball, had to take an error, everything. So this one, it was just a great route, great pass. So this one was, it was just, you know, good throw, good catch.

4:29James Harrison:Let's get to the next one. You know what I'm saying? Okay, so then the next play, we get hit for 36, bro. Again, I don't know what's going on. I think, I don't know how y 'all do it in cover two, But I think when we play it a little, you know, different as a linebacker, you know, we're supposed to go ahead and pop this dude and we're playing deep to short. How y 'all play that? We're supposed to play the same way. We got the flats. We got deep to short. And I love Slay, but on this, if you're not going to give him a reroute, the safety jailing, he's not going to be able to make it over the top to that hole shot.

5:00James Harrison:So if you don't put any hands on him, I love what Slay doing. He's looking at number two. He's trying to steal that out route because if he runs to the flat, he's expecting to get a pit. But you're leaving your safety out to dry because you didn't put hands on that number one receiver. slow him down in any type of way. So you got to be able to, if you're just going to let him run past you on the outside, you got to sync with that and carry it because Jalen can't get there. There's too much space. So that was just a whole shot. We got to do better on the cover too, just getting hands on him and carrying him with Slay with that play.

5:27Then they continue, man. They convert two fourth downs. One of them being a touchdown for seven, for six rather. We ended up starting off. We down seven nuts. I ain't going to be in library. I'm not real optimistic at that point in time. The very next series, Steelers get the ball. I think Aaron is sacked on the third down. We end up doing basically a three and out. But we punt the ball and Danny Smith, special team, comes through because this receiver, this returner wants to

6:05James Harrison:play. He wilded out. He had a brain fart just trying to figure out if he was going to get up to the ball. Then Peter, Peter call. You got to make, you got to make, you got to catch that. You got to catch it. You got to catch it. Then you try to back off, hit off his chest. Great play for the Steelers, man. So this is the swing. This is the swing we needed. Right. So we recovered. We at the 11. I think the first play, we got about five, six, seven yards, something like that. And we go for it on fourth and three. I'm not going to lie to you. I am, I was all against this because I'm looking at it and I'm saying, yo, we just took an opportunity where we had nothing.

6:42Let's at least try and leave with something. That's my mindset. You know what I'm saying? We go for it on the fourth,

6:50James Harrison:but we still could have made it go. A thousand percent. I mean, so I think this was a, the, the place, but it was Washington. DK ran the joint first. Kenny Moore tackled him. Then we had Washington versus Kenny Moore. Kenny Moore beat him on that one-on-one. We like that matchup. Kenny Moore made a great play. And then you get to the fourth down, Washington. You got to know, get your head around. As soon as you put that foot down, whip that head around. Like, you know, the ball hit him right in between the numbers. So I think I know what you're saying for sure. We needed to get points there. But on that same token, we can make that play.

7:23James Harrison:You got to be able to get your head around, snap it around, catch the ball. A-Rod put in a good spot. So leaving that with zero, that sucked. That sucked. That sucked. But Colts get the ball back. They start moving the ball a little bit. You know, we stop them. We get them to a fourth and one. I am lost because I know when I played under LeBeau, if it was anything around that fourth and one, close to less than two, it was defense safe. You knew you wasn't going to get a great return, but we wanted to make sure that they didn't do a sneak. And the best way to do that is had the guys on the field that actually played defense instead of a mix of offense and defense players.

8:03what like what do you think like is that did y 'all do that i think i don't i don't i don't know i

8:10James Harrison:didn't know who determined to call punt safe you know i'm saying i just knew i was i was out there regardless most of the time i was either holding up the gunner or i was going to be out there on punt safe or on the regular defense call because i was the corner so i i didn't know who was making that call i'm with you a thousand percent though you know what team you're playing against it's fourth and one. They've been going for fourth downs all the time. Let's just, end of the day, put defense safe with the returner back there and just let's make sure we get the ball in our possession. They fake the punt.

8:41They get it. The first down, they get a false start. We got them behind the chains. Second down, nephew, Lopez, my man get a P.I., man. What is going on? What you think is causing him to get all these PIs. I see what it is, but...

8:59James Harrison:Peasy, I think the good thing is he's very, very physical and that's what we loved about him, you know what I'm saying? But he's being a little too handsy. On these routes, you gotta not... You know, you can't literally on this play, he actually just grabbed the dude's waist. You know what I'm saying? You can't do that. These are big routes. After you pass five yards now, the game has changed for corners. They don't let us touch them. They don't let us jack them up like they used to back in the day. Once you pass five, you get a flag for touching a receiver. You're not supposed to do it so my man needs to start using his feet a little bit more and when you get to the top of routes you recognize that dig slip the hip you know i'm saying like all that like the grabbing and the pulling it's not you're going to get flagged for it they're going to call it um i love your aggressive play but in this league now it's not college no more they're going to make sure they're going to call those those handsy those those tiki-tac fouls so just you're in the right position you're in the spot bro just don't use that dance with them use your feet and get under and try to undercut some of these routes.

9:55James Harrison:But that one was a legit just, you can't grab. He had them by the waist. Nephew, I'm telling you this because I love you, man. Rely on what it is you have. You gifted, man. You got speed and you got length. You don't need to be so handsy, man. You can make that up on the turn with your speed and with your length. Like, that's not something that, you know, we need as a stiller defense. And I'm telling you this because I care about you. And if I didn't, I wouldn't say a word to you. For sure. You know he got it in him. Oh, no question. We go on ahead. They get about to the 38. And with that man named Swat.

10:35T.J. Swat. T.J. Swat. Go on ahead and get the sack. Fumble. Recovery. Only thing he could have did more was. Pick it up and get up off the ground at school. Take it in for the touchdown. Still let's get out there. We going on here. Hey, we started working our way down the field. Old Connor Hayward went on here, showed him how you supposed to do the tush-push right up there. Washington pushing them.

11:03James Harrison:Washington, then they lift them up, took them down to seven yards. No question. We conferred a third and seven with Austin. Money, money, money. Next third down. Touchdown. That man, Jalen. Jalen. And that's how you answer That's how you answer Points off turnover That's how you go Capitalize No question man Coach get back out there And P-Dub I'm just gonna call him P-Dub He went on hitting So Give me that Give me that Great great great play And he had the running back He had the running back and was just over top of him. And then saw him. Playing over top of him. Man, came back, bro. Great play.

11:55James Harrison:Great hands. Brought the ball back to the 14, bro. So the turnovers. We was turning the ball over. Hey, they lucky they caught him because you know that boy. I thought he was going to score. If he had lifted them legs when that tackle, when that alignment went to die for him, oh, he would have been gong-gong. He would have been gong-gong. But they don't matter because they're still getting it. Come on, who get in there? Move. Fire move. 12-yard touchdown. 7-4-10. Listen, man, Andy come out there. They think they're going to do something. Defense said, uh-uh. We're going to do three and out. We're going to go ahead and pressure you on this second down so you throw the ball too long.

12:43Hey, Cam, how you doing? Uh-huh. Third down. Now, hey, what the boy has been saying? Drop back in the coverage, bro.

12:53James Harrison:That's what I'm saying. Read the eyes of the quarterback into your zone, into your position, where you need to be, reading off the quarterback, reacting, jumping, knocking the pass down. Let's go. Pass defense, baby. Go ahead, punt that thing away. Still, let's get the ball. We working. You know, we work our way. We hit them one for about 8, 9, 10 on the run. We're getting them for about 16, 15 on the pass, man. Third down, we going ahead and get a nice little 15 for a personal foul. DK, look here, man. You can't be out there one-handed, man. They got kids watching. Everybody else on the team seeing it.

13:34Before they come to a defense, you know. My son said, DK be rage-baiting them boys, going ahead and handling them like that in front of all their family and kids. That's exactly what he's doing. Your son go get home and think he can do that to you. You don't let DK do. DK, stop doing him like that. Cause that man to get 15 yards. And then he arguing and I can't even tell who he arguing with. Cause I can't see who he looking at. I don't know who he looking at.

13:57James Harrison:You know, for that, I couldn't tell who he was looking at. Yeah, he was, he was all discombobulated. He was trying to figure out why y 'all didn't do nothing on DK when you have a man choked up. Like I just. And then I'm trying to look, you know, I'm trying to look at him and I can't, I can't tell who he looking at. But we get sacked on the first down Put us behind the chains But we still got seven from it I mean, we still got three from it You still got three from it, man It ain't bad It's seven to 17, man Halftime Feeling good Halftime Running defense doing great Running defense doing supremely Come on Supremely that's still a football that's still a defense that's what we're accustomed to seeing that is the defense when you come to pittsburgh that they talk about this we got it right here y 'all y 'all do it y 'all get it indy get the ball back in the second half they can they convert what i don't i don't know on that one i think we should have some bigger people in there but that's just me But hey, first down.

15:09Smith. Sir! Hey, every man whoop a man, right? Every man whoop a man, Debo. Every man whoop a man, whoop a man. Belt the ass. Yeah, yeah. Hey, second down. Shit, nephew went ahead, got him a sack. You know what he did, though? He said, before I come up here and go away, I'm going to push this boy out of bounds. Smart play, nephew. Smart play. Why? He can't get the ball no more. Go ahead up there and get you a sack, Peezy.

15:39James Harrison:Good defense. Run into his man. Push his man out of bounds because when the quarterback's out the pocket, you can push your man out of bounds. And then went and got the quarterback. Come on, Peezy. Went and got him a sack. Third down, Ramsey come down. I like Ramsey. Oh, my goodness. We going to talk about that. I do, too. I do, too. They end up can't get nowhere. They punt the rock. Steelers get on back up out there. Hey, the boy Walsh said, I'm going to make up for this. Second down. He was making some big-time hands catches.

16:10Next time, Washington, again, again, get him another one. Listen, man, this dude is dangerous. He's a weapon. This man, 8 feet tall, 753 pounds. He can catch the ball. He can block you. This ugly, but we don't really get nowhere with it. But I wanted to give Washington this practice. No, no, I respect it. I respect it. Hey, we punt the rock, man. That ain't no big to do. That ain't no big to do. They move the ball, you know, a little bit. You know what, dude? That one play right there on that, I think it was that second down, where he came in and he tackled. He almost fumbled. He almost fumbled that ball a little bit.

16:51He lost it. He lost it. He caught it right before it got all the way out of his hand, man.

16:58James Harrison:And then they got a third and three on this drive. I believe so and this is when I was talking about my man yes because they had the man to man coverage and on 33 they got my man Exels Exels what's 26's name no that's not this one no no this is the fourth down where they left Pittman wide open okay it was a little confusing there the 16 okay I ain't gonna lie I don't know what happened. And then Taylor go ahead and gets nine yards. That's like his longest run of the day. And I'm like, yo, I hope we ain't unwinded on this thing, man. Like what, you know, what's going on? And the next play. Hey, P-Dub.

17:51James Harrison:P-Dub. P-Dub. Athlete. Back the ball, the jacks. That's the ball, the jacks. Yeah, that was nice. Payton Willis is all He's all over the place P-Dub He's all over the place Tell me about Tell me about man Still let's get back in there And what they do They capitalized They capitalized This one A-Rod start dialing up A-Rod dialing up Nine in a row Dialing up It wasn't a hot four pad But it was four Where that That 875 pound tight end That's 10 feet tall First down he get 11 he throw a short one to Austin. Austin, give him the uh-uh. He go ahead and get 18. And then right at the end of the third, Washington get him again.

18:38That big boy slant. At the end. That big boy, 18 feet, 7 ,322 pounds, 13 yards in the third quarter. Down at the one. Down at the one. Fourth quarter, we go ahead and punch it on me. On the fourth. At the beginning of the fourth quarter 724 What do you know Coach, get back out there What happened on that first down? Sat

19:13James Harrison:Every man whoop a man Every man whoop a man Keanu They got 17 on that third down though Yeah, they did and nephew, we get another PI.

19:33James Harrison:And this is the part that's, you got to move your feet. It's on the tight end too. It's on the nub tight end. You know the tight end is trying to get physical. And I'm not going to lie. You know he was trying to, the tight end, we're not acting like he wasn't trying to push off on him also, but you got to not even get in that position where you're a corner in the tight end. Run, use your feet. You know they're bigger than you. Running around for him. He's running a corner route. Get in the position where you outside, you turn into it. Now, boom, you're in the position. You're quicker than him.

20:00James Harrison:You're faster than him. You don't have to try to out-bully the tight ends. No, you should never get a cold call. You like 6 '8 or something like that. Use your feet on that spot. So that's just like, I understand, but that's just not good football. You can't be that handsy with the tight end. They're going to call on you every time. Yes, yes. We end up stopping them, though, at least holding them to a field goal. So, you know, it's 10 to 24 now. Steelers go out there, man. And basically, we basically do like a three now. Yeah, and that's what I thought Gainwell, I thought he could have got vertical on that slant and got a first down.

20:40Yeah, I think it was.

Read the full transcript

20:42James Harrison:I thought that too. I was looking because he tried to do the little juke. And then when we went to punt the ball, dude. I'm like, we just need to get north and south. We only need three yards so you can fall forward. Yeah, yeah. And when we went to punt the ball, dude, like, why didn't we take more time off the clock? He snapped it so fast, bro. Like, we got lucky because the PP was actually getting set. He was moving backwards. That's the only reason we didn't get a penalty on that one because he was actually backing up to get into his position and just flop. Like, I don't know. I got it. Yeah, yeah.

21:13Pee-bid for sure. For sure, dude. Indy, get back out there. Second down. Now, Highsmith was bawling. He was doing it on a bad ankle, too. I seen the boy on the sideline hobbling. They went on out there, and they spat it up. They spat it up.

Plan your trip at TravelMevada.com. I ain't going. Put the black, put the black, put the black on there. He spat on the outside. He came back out there and went to work.

23:12James Harrison:Yes, he did. Ooh, sack fumble. Hello. Is it me you're looking for? Everything was going. That was the fifth turnover of the day. Pittsburgh came to play. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We get the ball back, baby. Short field. I'm thinking we got action, baby. We got money. That third down, he needs to do what, Joe? He needs to get your head around. You got to break that road off. A-Rod knows he's coming in hot. You're trying to win the option. The defender is 15 yards back. A-Rod is trying to get that ball into your hands as fast as possible. So it's just like the Steelers are missing with the Washington on the slant.

24:04James Harrison:Get your head around. Right here, Gainwell coming out of the backfield. He just want to get... You see him. The blitz come. You see him. That should be your key. As soon as he go, oh, let me break this off. Yeah, so that's just the miscommunication right there. And I feel like that's where the offense on some of these things, we got to, they got to play better. Defense was doing great. Offense, there's just more. And A-Rod knows it too. There's more me doing that bone. Oh, yeah, for sure. For sure. We end up selling... Bankroll, obviously. Bankroll all day. It's 10 to 27. Hmm. and he go ahead, get that ball back.

24:38They start moving the ball. I mean, I kind of knew that we couldn't just keep him sealed up forever. And again, I'm just trying to tell you, man, I like Jalen. I like Ramsey at that safety. All he had to do was go about six inches lower and it wouldn't have been nothing.

24:53James Harrison:I'm just trying to figure out how many, I know what you're saying. I call that he got hit too hard flag. It was very little of the helmet. It was mostly shoulder than anything. It was very little incidental contact on the helmet, but you know how they're airing on the side for the offense. I understand that, man. I call that joint and tell your quarterback, don't throw a concussion protocol ball. I call it a blue tent ball. I call it anachalepsy ball. That boy throwing blue tent balls out there trying to get back in. I'm out there throwing out blue tent balls, and especially people not get to put to sleep.

25:27I mean, that's why. But you ain't expecting that safety to come down there like that, though. Man, Ramsey put that old

25:35James Harrison:My man Sheeja, but I'm glad he's okay He tried to get up He was dizzy He did the stanky leg for a minute But he good, you know, everything good And then, dude, I don't know what happened with 20 Well, he had just got there What he got is, man He got mixed up, man Devo, this is what I'm going to try to tell you That's man-to-man coverage There's two people there I'm looking. They're giving the lock signal. No, we're giving the lock. This is why I need you because I don't know what's going on over there. We can do a lock or we can do an in and out. So we got a combination. I think they in and out.

26:12James Harrison:When I do the picture, look, you'll see. But this one I'm going to tell you. When I got a picture of a man to man and he's standing there looking at the quarterback and his man is two yards behind him, he's not guarding nobody. Like if you're a quarterback, you're going to have your eyes on your work. You're supposed to be connected to a man. He's standing there. At no point when the play is going on, are you supposed to be as a quarterback looking dead at the quarterback? No. Looking anywhere but at your man. You had a man to be looking at. You know what I'm saying? So, like, with that, I know, like, that's just terrible eyes.

26:43James Harrison:Eye discipline. You're going to look at it. You're looking to hope that he's not throwing it to your man. And then you run over there because, like, no, that ain't too bad. Ain't that the worst? You get beaten. The first thing you go to do is look and see if he saw that you got beat. And that's what he was looking at. He was looking at the quarterback. He said, you're going to look at him, throw a fucking touchdown on you. And that's what he did. So, like, you got to have your eyes in the right places. When it's man-to-man, you're never supposed to be as a quarterback staring at the quarterback.

27:08James Harrison:Your man's running in the end zone. Yeah, so now it's 17-27. But we getting the ball back. All we got to do is go out here, hold on to the ball, and burn out the ball. Just hold on to it. Just chill. Wilson, what in your right mind told you that was a great move to make? Anytime you jump, you go pull a hand off the ball because when you go to the ball. You ain't going to just land on your head? You ain't going to just land on your neck. You know what I'm saying? Kenny, and shout out Kenny Moore. The only thing that could hurt us, and you know what? Them damn announcers said that. Y 'all need to keep quiet when situations like this happen when my still is playing.

27:49You understand? Because y 'all make things come true when it ain't supposed to. they fumble

27:55James Harrison:we fumble that was a good play by Kenny Moore though he punched that joint out he did he did punch it out but Wilson's wild and you're not supposed to jump just dude he ain't have to punch that hard it was like this cause you jumping you doing this what are we doing he's up in the air looking crazy get back out there man hey nephew Go ahead and make up for one of them PIs. Went on ahead and put himself in the middle right there and picked that thing. Great play. Great play. Great play. Good vision. Hey, I'm thinking it's over, man. Steelers get the ball back. And what we do? We punt again. Three and out.

28:40James Harrison:Quick. Three and out. We weren't able. Like, our run game was terrible. We ain't going to talk about that. But we couldn't get nothing going on the ground. dude it was ratchet out there for for the offense but anyway man hey we live by defense man and they get back out there they work to you know about the 35 they go ahead get the field goal they try to onside kick we get a game over where it shouldn't have been that close willow okay and i'm not blaming you but yes i am blaming you because the later you get in the game the mistakes you make tend to magnify. And this is one of those things that magnify.

29:23But, you know, we go out there and we win the game against, what ranked offense is that? Number one. Number one. Okay. The Steelers defense, T.J. Watton, Cam Haywood, High Smith, hell, the whole D-line. Run stopping. This is what we like to call big game hunting. at his best because you're playing against the best. Peyton Willis. Wilson, what are we talking about? Peyton Willis. P-Dub. What are we talking about?

29:58James Harrison:14 tackles, bro. We're forcing turnovers. We're doing all that. This defense, like, hey, we stepping up and we making plays when we needed to make plays, dude. You stopping the run. Like, they're not being able to piss a drop, dude. They got gallstones. They got barnacles. You know what I'm saying? Gale force wind peeing. You know what I mean? Like, they backed up. Nephew, yes, you come through at the end for us. Jalen, I like Jalen. Slade did some of his things, too. The DBs play better all together, bro. Like you just held Jonathan Taylor to 45 yards on 14 rushing. You done sacked this man six times.

30:55Not to mention who knows how many passes you batted and tipped and three interceptions only. Like they only had 55 yards rushing as a total offense. I know. I know. We need the defense to do what they did here. Keep going. We need turnovers. We need expossessions. We need all that. Because when you look at it, the offense did well enough for us to win. They capitalized on the opportunities, the extra opportunities that they got from the defense. All together, we only had 225 yards. They had almost 370. Like they had 26 first downs. We had 17. We lost time of possession. Every offensive category we lost in.

31:47And there's no way if you look at these numbers, you think this was the score. We have to find out a way to do better on offense. We have to be able to run the ball because the dump pass run game alternatives that we're doing is not going to continue to stick and last forever. People are going to find a way to stop that. So that's what I need done. And defense, look here. That's still a defense. That's what I love to see. That's what it should always be. But I'm going to give you a challenge, though. My daddy said the sun shines on every dog's ass once in a while. He used to tell me that every time I beat him in fishing, which I ain't going to lie, wasn't that often.

32:31You know what I'm saying? Like, we got to go out there and do this week in and week out. A broke clock is right once a day. And if it don't got AM or PM on it, it's right twice a day. Show me who the real Stiller defense is. How much? Nephew. Nephew. Show me a complete game put back to back with no PIs. Okay, D-line. Show me continue back-to-back games of great run defense. I know you can do it. You just did it against the best. Yep. And we got to stop people on fourth down. You can't let nobody go 5-5. You showed me you can do it. Now go out there and do it week in and week out. Yep. You got it.

33:24You can do it. You did it against the best. It ain't nobody else better out there.

33:28James Harrison:I'm with you with the run defense. The run defense did everything. They did everything we expected. We said, every man whoop a man, Debo. And they went out there and they whooped the man in front of them. Because the Colts never got to really start ahead of the sticks. They never got that. They were always fighting for third and long, trying to figure out how to make plays because we weren't letting Jonathan Taylor get going. The one thing I'm going to say about the defense is our secondary. We still gave up 345 yards passing. And two receivers had 100 yards. My man Pierce had six for 115. And Pittman had nine for 115.

34:12James Harrison:So it's the chunk plays that happened for me. If you get beat man to man, you're on your man, you're contested, he catches it and goes out, that's all good. That happens. That's football. We're going to the next play. That's why I saw an afternoon. That's good on good. But when we have things like, when these big gaps in the zone, it's a lot of people taking the cheese. You know when they're told the linebackers, you got something in front of you and a dig coming right behind you, D-Bow? Hey, Butts would always say. These motherfuckers on the top. These dudes, they're biting the cheese. They're taking the cheese.

34:41James Harrison:It's simple things where, like, the check down is there and you're just breaking on the check down and they're throwing it on the dig route right behind your head. Just back up to that. You can get a pick on that. Back up to that. Deep to short. Everything deep to short. And there's certain plays with echoes on you when you're to curl flat and cover three. You got to play that deep to short the same way the corner has to play that china deep to short. Everybody has certain little plays where you have to play things deep to short. There's going to be a dig behind you and a little something in front of you.

35:07James Harrison:It's called like they trying to take the cheese. So little discipline things like that. It's not like they're beating you bad. It's like don't take the cheese. Back up. Don't let those digs behind your head. Make them throw that drag and y 'all rally up and make a tackle. Do you know what I'm saying? Like a lot of those are what's blowing on the defense. So with me, I'm like that run game. That's perfect. That was amazing. Man to man echoes when you're in on man to man, be on your man. Don't be staring at the quarterback. So if you're at least on your man and he makes the play on you, that's okay.

35:35James Harrison:But if I see you just standing there, not like with eye discipline, making bad plays like that, that's not good. You can do that's not, that's not a skill thing. That's just like a, you got this man. Don't be looking at the quarterback. You know what I'm saying? You have this zone. Back up in your zone. Like, that's why I rock with what Coach T was saying. It's a short difference between drinking wine and squashing grapes. Because it's not like we're reinventing the wheel. We know how good the team is. We got the players to do it. Be in your spot. You know what I'm saying? And he made great plays.

36:05James Harrison:When the man in the man Echols had three pass breakups. Joey Porter Jr., great pass breakups. He's on his man. Just don't rap him. You know what I'm saying? Just be right. You right there. You good, baby. If he makes that play, it's a hell of a play. Just throw your hand in there. Try to knock that down. Next play. We good. You're on it. You're on your position. You're in your spot. Next play. Somebody might get a sack. TJ might knock the joint out. Next joint. Let's just keep it how it's going. You know what I'm saying? So I love the way the defense did it. But my thing is that the defense pass game, it's not reinventing the wheel.

36:36James Harrison:Just everybody, do your 111 for every play. I know it sounds easy. Just be in your spot. Be in your zone. A lot of those digs and stuff work. See what you're supposed to see. be where you're supposed to be and make the plays you're supposed to make. Everybody do that. Can't nothing go wrong. But look here, man. I'm happy, excited. The future is bright again. The future is bright again. Especially, especially what the bangles went out there. The bongos went out there and did. That boy Chase Brown had a sound off on. Hey, play that for me. We got that. We just got to play complimentary football Like we put the ball in the end zone And go up a point at the end Finish the game Like just end it Like that's it Like that's That's like that's what we need to do Just end the game Like Make them Make them Get us the ball back Let us go to 22 victory And let's end the game That's how That's like That's how I feel Listen here Joe Yeah The Bongo's defense Sold Y 'all sold the game.

37:44Where was that trash defense when we played y 'all? Huh? Y 'all gave up 283 yards rushing, another 302 yards pass, a total of 576 yards. Then the offense go down there and make it up for you. These boys scored 14 points in a minute and 21 seconds. And then you bums go out there and let Let them score a touchdown in 37 seconds, and it's only 54 left. Black O 'Goal, 47 to 31, 470 yards, four touchdowns. Diggins get him 121 on seven. Chase get him 111 on six. And Brown get him eight on 75. Hey, Joe, Joe Burrow, listen, it ain't too late. Get out of there. You ain't been wearing orange long enough that you can't come over here and wear black and gold.

38:42We only got a quarterback under contract for a year right now. Listen, sit back and think about your options, okay? Okay? They're going to waste you. They're going to waste you. Now, even though the offense did ball out like that. How do you feel about him saying that, Devo? You can't go to the media and say that. It's been plenty of times when we played where we're like, man, damn, the offense could do this or do that. We're not saying it to the media. we're saying it to each other i like how chase uh responded to it he said listen i ain't got nothing to say about it don't they say nothing to me when it's on the other side so i don't i don't like that you went out there everybody could see that hell the bangles players didn't even want to talk to the media most of them so that's you know what i'm saying that's not something that you can do.

39:36And in today's time, especially with all this sensitivity, guys being called out publicly in the media, you know, it don't end well.

39:46James Harrison:I feel the same way, Debo. If you can go to the media with that, then you already know what it is in the locker room. Like, that's not something that you would want to put, obviously, the defense they know. Like, if dudes are doing big, they're professional athletes. It's called a football team. You're on a team. Not a football me, I. No, we win together, we lose together. We got to accept that. And we damn sure ain't going to be out here in the media, downing each other when we already know. I know they feel like trash. I know they feel like garbage. All you had to do was hold them, and you only had 30, what, 50 seconds left?

40:25And the whole game, 54 seconds left? Like, yeah, they feel bad. They feel like trash, you know? And half of them, well, most of them didn't even talk to the media. But on that same point When you do have that performance You got to talk to the media man On up to it Hey we trashed out

40:42James Harrison:We sold The highs are highs The lows are lows When you miss a tackle If you miss Those dudes You got to make that play If you don't make the play Then you know what I'm saying It happens So when you win the games You want to talk to the media And be all good But when you lose the games You got to be able to take it We professional athletes We do this job as a professional So we're able to Are we professional Are you supposed to make that play Yes you are So I think for For teammates to be calling on other teammates, that's just where it gets kind of tough because you know your guys want to be held accountable.

41:10James Harrison:So I would think the teammate, he has to feel, the Bengals' defense has to feel trash. Theirself. You know what I'm saying? So going on with Jamar Chase, your teammates, or anybody bashing you in-house, that's going to have you feeling also some type of, you're a professional. And then now you might mess around and cause a fray inside the locker room, dude. Like you have a situation where now, you know, it's offense pinned against defense. It's real smoke. At the same time, if you give them a thousand yards in the past two games at 86 points, offense score 80 points. Where was your trash defense when y 'all played us?

41:52I can't. And you know what? Cleveland, you bounce. I wanted to say something else, but I forgot that I'm trying to do my name. I say James was a curse. You ain't even talking to him. I'm not, dude, but I still get it. I still mess. I ain't nobody perfect. Man. My team still got the bye. Hey, Cleveland, y 'all made the best decision ever for another team, and you can't make not one for your damn self, you kids.

42:18James Harrison:Damn, Devo. Don't even see they on the bye week. They at the crib chilling right now, man. That's the best thing that happened to them. They couldn't move. My good old Bronies won this week. Yeah, yeah. Hey, that's just what happened. They won. By not being here, they won by not being here. We'll be out there. The Bills went on ahead and gave the Chiefs a little bit of work, man. Not a little bit of work, a lot of work, dude. Like, you know, the offensive line for the Chiefs struggled, man. Pat was getting sick. When the offensive line struggled like that, Patrick Mahomes was going to struggle because the line can't protect him.

42:51This dude was getting hit, sacked. I don't even think he completed 50 % of his passes. I think it's 44%. It's like the defense struggled bad. Allen only had, what, three incompletions the whole game? What is that? He spread the ball around to like 10 different receivers, bro. He ain't even picking one no more. He like, yo, whoever opened, go ahead and get that thing. Man. He's just seeing it all, but I ain't going to lie to you, dude. Dude, that third quarter, when they called that intentional grounding, that was a tip pass and had time to look at it and actually go back and don't change it. And still don't change it?

43:36I think that caused, like, that was a big, big, big switch in the game, dude. Like, because now they 10 yards further back, you know, and then they ended up getting sacked after that play, you know, where you can run a shorter route when you're 10 yards or closer. Yeah, so I think that was a...

43:58James Harrison:They got to do better, man. How you... You see... They showed him, he tipped the ball. I don't know how you do that. Oh, all the way. The refs, man, they wild. All the way. Like, you can see it when it comes off. The ball changes. Where it's going. Trajectory, motion, all that. Like, and you get... Like, that's something where New York need to be like, yo, hey, that ball tipped. I think it should be... You know what I'm saying? We can see, I don't know why it's so, I like that way they're doing some of these instant replays, how they get switched a whole lot quicker. Like when you see it, they're like, all right, bet.

44:33James Harrison:But just obvious things should be able to get switched quick. There's no, like, I don't get that. It's the NFL, bro. Like, these are real, like, this situation's momentum. Like, that joint is messed up. And you can see it. Like, you see it's replayed, replayed, replayed, replayed. Like, come on. I don't understand. But look, the Bills and the Chiefs, my whole perspective is what you think is going to happen later on. Like Bills when they play them into the playoffs.

45:08I don't know, man. It's so much up and down with the Chiefs defense on how they play week in and week out. And, you know, they'll give up big plays here. they'll stop somebody here and then you know later on it's a shootout you know Patrick Mahone having to score 30 40 something you know what I'm saying just to just to get the dub I don't I don't know I think it's it's just more of I'm not worried about basketball as long as they can protect him and keep him upright it's not an issue but I also think they had some people hurt on their offensive in line. But everybody has that. You got to be able to step in, pick up and keep it moving.

45:50James Harrison:Yep. Yep. My thing is, with the Chiefs, I think that they're always, like you said, as long as they got Patrick Mahomes, as long as they had Andy, I'm never really worried about them too much. It's just about when it gets to the playoffs. I know they're always people getting healthy. Hi! Uncle Lazer here. America's built on fast cars, fast food, and even faster women. I hope Pacheco's going to end up getting right, But I just never, I'm not, I'm almost to, with Patrick Mahomes, like I was, like people got with Tom Brady. I'm not worried about what happens right now. We know they're going to be in the playoffs and then we're going to see what they're going to, what people are going to do with the Chiefs. It just gets to that point with me where I've watched every game.

48:22James Harrison:We're going to see what's happening, how it's developing. They're getting people back. It's like worthy, everybody writes, you know what I'm saying? Just getting them acclimated. But I know once it gets to the nitty gritty, they're going to be there. So like, I don't know, people have to deal with them. So just having a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes on your team, I think, you know what I'm saying? Like, he's generational. You know, when he gets the ball, he's going to get the ball every time you're on offense so you just feel like we can win this game. Yeah, that's no question about it. The Vikings, though, be the Lions at home, bro.

48:54I was not expecting that. That was not on my Uno card. That was not mine. That was not mine. I really feel like this became just really a battle of two defenses, one defense out playing the other. You know, the Vikings' defense played better, you know, than the Lions' defense. You know, the Lions got a turnover early. But again, as I said, the later you get in the game, the bigger the turnovers will come. And then the Vikings, they get the turnover midway through the third quarter when, you know, David Montgomery, he fumbles the rock, and they're able to capitalize on that and they score a touchdown you know and then i believe they oh special teams too so they ended up getting that field goal block uh the lions got the field goal block and the vikings capitalized off that and they they got a field goal you know and then i think with just under two minutes left uh in the fourth quarter the lions scored a touchdown would you know put them where they was at but the defense couldn't hold up and they ended up converting the third down for uh 16 yards and from there you know basically the you know the game was over with the vikings defense dude they got after golf right five sacks and then they held their rushing attack to only 65 that's crazy dude that's a battle between two defenses the one defense outplayed the other and and honestly that's just how i look at everything because i'm a defensive player i'm like yo we gotta outplay their defense it don't really matter what our offense do we gotta outplay it because you keep them out of the end zone they don't score they don't win no question dude and and stillers defense dude that's that's that's what we did man we went out there and played dude like you either what coach take what coach t say you either uh apply pressure or you feel pressure you know what i'm saying and and i always want to be applying pressure even though it may be in a situation where we're under pressure i want that pressure what would dion say um uh you uh how do you put it you apply do your peers apply pressure to you or do you apply pressure to your peers like yo i want to be in that situation where the defense got to go out here and we got an opportunity we're down by three or whatever and i want to be the one i want the defense to be the ones to go out there get that sack fumble recovery for a touchdown and then come back out after that and do a three or four and out and and let the offense go in there and close the game out i want to be in that position that's what that's that's that's

51:34James Harrison:what i used to dream of man same dude same because when you know when you like when you got you got D-Bo, you got that dog in you. You know what I'm saying? You got that dog in you. I got that dog in me. It's some type of dudes that just really want the moment and just, you know what I'm saying? This is what we was born for. We play ball. We want to be the best. And we're going to show people that we the best. And I like when we was going out there, like when I played for the Steelers too, when I felt like the defense was turned, you knew TJ was going to make a play. Cam was going to make a play.

52:01James Harrison:I was going to make a play. Or Minka was going to make a play. Vince Williams was going to make a play. We're rushing to get the sack. We rushing for them to get the sack. or we know after first down, boom, we get them on third and long. They're rushing them fast. Either Watt going to get a sack or he going to toss the ball up in the air and somebody going to get a pick. So, like, you just get hyped for those moments because it's not like you're anticipating bad stuff. You always know, like, no, I'm going to make a play. Something good is going to happen for the team. No question. No question.

52:29Washington, bro, the commanders, boy, they got dog walking. Oh, my God. Dog. Jalen was running. That boy Daniels, that boy was running for his life all night. He been getting hit. Bruh, and then to add injury to insult, you lose Daniels with eight minutes left in the game, and you're down by 31 points. Why is he even in the game? He just came back from a hamstring. Why is he even in the game? And you don't even know how long you done lost him for yet. Like, it's no need. listen they got our number fourth quarter a start pulling out your players that you cannot replace your quarterback you cannot replace between his performance as a one in your backup performance it's a big gap he's your franchise you ain't know what do you think man do you think

53:25James Harrison:he should have kept him no no no no debo it's what i mean it's jayden daniels and especially he's been getting hit he's already coming off of an injury and 31 points down you got to just be realistic you know i'm saying at the end of the day there's and i'm not saying you pull out your i'm not saying you pull out defense starters but your franchise quarterback that's been hurt and is like kind of just healing and y 'all like obviously lost the game and he's been taking hits this whole game but leading up to it not like this was his first time getting hit that game like i would just and then calling that play it's a read option run play with the quarterback also So, like, just trying to protect your guys when you know what position they're in, that's kind of how I'm looking at it.

54:06James Harrison:I would get him out. This game is out of reach. It's 31-7. Dude, so far out of reach. And now you lose your quarterback. And did they say what happened to his arm? All I know is something with his elbow, left elbow. Did they give a prognosis of what it is? I think they said it was dislocated. but what's the, you know, how long is that? I don't know how long the dislocated elbow. But the good thing is it's the left elbow. So it's not, and it's throwing all hands. Listen, that don't matter when you're trying to get away from people. He's an athletic quarterback. He needs to run. He needs to kick them arms.

54:46No, no, no, a thousand percent.

54:47James Harrison:But I'm saying, when people were, I'm just saying that because people are kind of. Did you see it, bro? That stuff did not look good, bro. I seen it. But people are comparing it to the RG3 injury. And I'm like, you think that's similar with the left with an opposite arm than like a leg or his right arm? No, no, no, no, no. I'm with you. Yeah, you wanted to be the other arm. But at the same point in time, don't forget, he got to get snaps. He got to hold out. He got to catch up. He got to move that thing around. You know what I'm saying? It's going to be a healing process. But I'm just saying. I believe they're getting an MRI today.

55:22So they go get an evaluation of exactly what it is, how long they're looking at. But a dislocation, dude, that means something had to go. You don't usually get a dislocation without something tearing.

55:35James Harrison:Yeah, we're going to wait and see on this one because it didn't look good. It was the total opposite direction, bro. Like that, phew, that, yo, Carolina beat the Packers. Packers, where was this when you played us? You know, I'm so tired. Browns beat that ass. Yeah. Listen, bruh, they lose on a last second field goal, 49-yard field goal. They lose 16-13. You know, hey, speaking of field goals, Jacksonville's field goal kicker, Cam Little, that boy hit an NFL record 68 yarder to assist in them beating the Raiders 30 to 29 bruh 68 when we go see soon soon that the buddy from I think buddy from Dallas probably gonna hit that thing buddy from Dallas or him because he he kicked it with a little bit to spare dude they said I think they said he kicked one um 70 yards I guess in pregame or something in the warm-ups.

56:45James Harrison:It's them new modified footballs. You let them work them in. Boy, got that good leg, good contact. It's like, well, I don't do golf, but I hear it's like, you know, hitting that ball and you hit it in the right spot. Yeah, the sweet spot. And that thing fly off. Yeah. I had the spot of golf. I can't really do that golf thing too much, man. I end up, man, I'm going to tore off my, what you call that, right? My belt, man. See, Debo, that's what I'm telling you. You're swinging too damn hard. There's no way you're lifting all them weights and threw out your delt playing golf. Not threw out my delt, bro.

57:21I had to go get an MRI, everything, bro. I'm like, yo, this ain't right. I was playing golf, bro.

57:28James Harrison:No, Debo. I'm going to take you to the... We're going to go golfing, and I'm going to get you right. Because I play. I play now, Debo. I've been playing now for about six years. Listen, man. I don't hit... I don't drive the ball no more. All I do is push. Okay, yeah. If you want me at your golf event, I will go because it's charity. I'm trying to do whatever I can to help give back. That's not an issue. But do not expect me to be competitive or be upset or try and do anything seriously. Okay? Because you do not want me on your team. But when I get there, when I get there, listen, I'm going to look apart.

58:07I'm going to have a glove on. I'm going to have shoes on. I'm going to have the shorts and the shirt on If it's a little chilly, I'm going to have the pants on I'm going to have the hat I'm even going to have the clip on top of my hat To sit down to put the spot Are you going to have your shirt tucked in? My shirt will not be tucked in Okay And I'm going to talk so much trash and game That they going to be like, wow, he really do this because I'm going to tell you, I started young. I started young at a Tiger age, Woods. A Tiger Woods age. You feel me? That's what I'm going to tell you. Oh, you're lying.

58:49Oh. They call me James Woods. Okay. You know, when I'm on the golf course, before they see me hit that first ball, and then they realize I'm just talking hella, hella, hella shit. You just talking on your ass. Oh, all the way. Ain't nothing but shit coming out. You know what I'm saying? Oh. But until you see that first swing, I got him nervous. I'm going to just need you for the putting then, Debo. That's good. That's good. You come for the vibes. Hey, I'm not going to lie to you, though. Hey, my putt game trash, too. I never said I was going to make it. I said I only think I do is putt because it won't hurt my shoulder.

59:25What is your golf game like while you up here, you know,

59:28James Harrison:talking about I've been playing for this time and this time? So I'm about a 12, I'm about an 11 index. You know what I'm saying? 11 handicap. People will say that that's not too good. That means I'm shooting in the mid to high 80s. I'm shooting like 86, 87, 88. You know what I'm saying? I mean, that's all right. I'm damn near a scratch golf. No, you're not shooting in the 70s. That's no way. And you can't drive the ball, Debo? There's no way. You're shooting 120. That's real disrespectful, Joe. You ain't never seen me on the course. You just told me you was trash. You told me you blew out your shoulder trying to drive.

1:00:06Maybe I was lying to set you up so I could go ahead and we could get this gambling to get and I bet a good $50 ,000 on it and show you how it

1:00:14James Harrison:goes. See, there you go. You're trying to parlay, but no, no, no, no. I'll take it$50 ,000. Whenever you ready, you let me know. Let's wait till it... Because I will not be available. The weather just changed, so we're starting to get a little chilly outside. I'm going to give you an off-season. Yeah, it don't matter. I will not be available. whenever you let me know you read it i will not be a villain i am not playing anybody and competing or betting anything in golf i play you some tic-tac-toe oh please it's gonna be i'm the i know the cheat code it's gonna be a cat hey listen man listen i play you in tic-tac-toe we can play uh left right center you know what left right center is Okay.

1:00:58We play left, right, center. We play kick ass. Know where kick ass is? Okay. You roll five dice, okay? And the dice add up to amounts. So if you roll three of anything, that's that amount. Except for if you roll three ones, that's 1 ,000. You automatically keep the 1 ,000. But you need 750 to get on board. It'd be too long to sit here and explain. Okay, no, no, no. We get offline.

1:01:20James Harrison:Give it to me offline. But whenever you're ready, I need some kick ass, you know, some spades. Oh, I love spades. Hold on. How you play? I play Jailhouse. Ace high. I could play however anybody wants to play. I don't need all them wilds. I don't need all them wilds. I could play Ace high. That's for people who can't count. Ace high. We go Ace high. We go Ace high. I could run Ace high. Jailhouse. I call it Jailhouse. We go Ace high. We go Joker, Joker, Deuce. We do anything. We do however you want. I whooped in some talk. I'm nice in all of those games that you're talking. Mm-hmm. Some Uno. Uno reverse.

1:01:55Oh, Debo, we got some super You know how to play casino Casino I'm going to show you how to play casino You know how to play boo ray Oh, you know how to play I know you know how to play some boo You know how to play$20 and it Only$20 and it now $20 and it now I can't I can't afford a little too much now Debo, I got to ask you something We got a super chat

1:02:23James Harrison:Got a super chat before we get out What we got Go ahead take off with it Christian donated$10 And said Pittsburgh Steelers Need a wide receiver Where should the Pittsburgh Steelers layer their eyes on Is Waddle worth getting I like Waddle You know what I like I like Waddle But I think we need to Figure out how to shore up our offensive line. If we can figure a way to get effective runs, that'll open up more of that pass. Yeah, it's not the most... Not a one person. It's not a one item fix-off. And that's not the cutest decision. I mean, the prettiest. People want to get a receiver. If we can get a lineman, you know what I'm saying, and be able to open up some more holes, because Jalen running for 16 carries for 31 yards, and my man game will had three for minus one that's not good that's not good at all yeah that sounds wild that sounds crazy that's sound wild like i said we got beaten every offensive uh statistical category and to win that game is is no way anybody would think that without knowing what the score was looking at the numbers because it was that the turnovers and still we had six turnovers and we only won by seven.

1:03:47James Harrison:You know what I'm saying? Like that. I was rocking what A-Rod said. We need to drop at least 35-42. Look at the Patriots game. Same sort of thing. We winning the turnover margin by five, but plus five and winning by one touchdown. These games need to be easy walkaways. You know what I'm saying? Like setting the self-back up, losing the ball. We just can't do that. We need to be able to just run away with something up. Yeah, man. Look here, man. I'm just happy to be celebrating a good victory Monday. Speaking of Monday, we got the Cardinals playing the Cowboys. And we know Jerry ain't going to be there.

1:04:31Jerry got big business elsewhere. He's going to be at a meeting talking about the gas, getting that$100 billion. Hey, let this little$13 billion organization sit on the side over here. I got the$100 billion. Y 'all be there waiting. Y 'all fans going to be there paying that money, giving Jerry all that money when he don't give two fiddle-faddle flicks about that team. All the businesses will be there. For the gas and, you know, for the natural gas, all that, that's going to be done in normal business hours. Yeah, come on.

1:05:51He going to come. So he'll be able to make it there. He got a jet and all that. And he'll get there probably with, you know, a good two-hour, hour maybe before the game. Very far. He might just land on the roof. That's not what I'm saying. I know he got a pad on there. I know he got a pad. But then again, like, who knows, you know? He might have to do some other work in the after hours of it to make sure you sweeten the deal, get it right. You know what I'm saying? I'm just going to tell you right now. If it's something else he got to do coming at 8 o 'clock time with that natural guy, that$100 billion, he ain't going to be there.

1:06:25Okay? He is not going to be there.

1:06:29James Harrison:It's Monday. It's Monday night football. He probably going to bring the billionaires there. Hey. Hey, he going to wine and dine them at the stadium in the street. Yes. in the play. He most definitely go be there. I forgot they was at home, Joe. That's a good point, Joe. I forgot they was at home. Look here. Come and see my stables. Come and see my cab. Hey, come and see my stable. I got a stable. Come and look at it. Come and see my toy, you know, my little play business I play with over here. Yeah. And look at all these fans around here. They believe in our cab. I'm Jerry Jones. I don't care nothing about that money.
