In short
Deebo and Joe discuss the Steelers vs. Texans playoff matchup, focusing on Steelers keys in all three phases (defense, offense, special teams), plus broader NFL coaching news (Mike McDaniel and Jim Harbaugh being fired) and College Football Playoff reaction (Miami vs. Ole Miss/Fiesta Bowl context). They also debate offensive coordinator Arthur Smith’s future and critique Lamar Jackson’s postseason passing/overall quarterback profile.
Guests
No guests. The episode is hosted by James “Deebo” Harrison and Joe Hayden.
Guest backgrounds
N/A (hosts only). Deebo references playing five years for the Steelers and having played with/around defensive coach D’Amico Ryan; Joe references playing in Cleveland and having familiarity with Miles Garrett.
Key claims
Steelers must stop the run, pressure/sack Texans QB CJ (contain him, avoid inside rush mistakes), and win “field position” via special teams discipline. Offensively, they must stay ahead of the sticks with “four yards in a cloud of dust,” quick screens/dink-and-dunk, protect Aaron Rodgers, and exploit DK Metcalf returning (expecting double coverage). Texans are portrayed as disrespectful/“chip on shoulder” under D’Amico Ryans. Arthur Smith’s offense is criticized as too basic with limited route creativity. Lamar Jackson is argued to be a generational athlete but not a consistently high-passing-yard playoff quarterback; postseason issues are attributed to team mistakes and Lamar’s passing limitations.
Notable examples
Steelers vs. Browns matchup (MBS vs. Denzel Ward), Ravens/Flacco vs. dominant-defense examples (Trent Dilfer), and specific Lamar postseason moments (Zay Flowers fumble, Mark Andrews drop, missed field goal).

1:38Welcome back to this episode of Deebo and Joe. I'm your host, James Deebo Harrison, and I'm here with my co-host, Joe Hayden. Please make sure you guys like and subscribe. You don't want to miss nothing. How you doing today, Joe?
1:52James Harrison:Brother Deebo, I'm doing good. I'm doing good. I had to change up locations. You know, I got people doing a lot of, I had a leak in my house, so they working on the floors. They doing a lot of sanding, a lot of stuff going on. So it was noisy in there. So I had to come outside to the barn. So switched up the location, but we made it happen. You know what I'm saying? Okay. Okay. I mean, you seem to have a whole lot of work going on all the time. Something happening here, something happening there. I don't know what's going on. You buy a lemon, Joe? Bro, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm a good person.
2:23James Harrison:And, you know, just things happen. Unfortunate things. You know, leaks and just, you know, like gas lines. This stuff is just always just happening to me. But I'm dealing with it. My dad says, you know, it's just, it's a little, it's a hiccup. You know what I'm saying? Right. It's probably like rich people problems. You know what I'm saying? I don't deal with them problems. You know what I'm saying? D-Bo, you told me your door got blown down. You were dealing with some things at the same time. That's because my house raggedy. I'm poe. I ain't got no paper, bro. Come on, man. No, D-Bo. The wind blew my dough down, bruh.
2:56James Harrison:You fall from Poe. You fall from Poe. Like, look at that. Like, the big bad wolf came and blew my house down. Like, I'm strong. See, everybody got stuff going on. Everybody got stuff going on, D-Bo. You know what I'm saying? Some people's problems, bigger than others or smaller than others. But everybody got stuff they're dealing with. So, you know. Your house made out of brick, ain't it? My house is made out of brick. It's not getting blown down. See? I ain't got no bricks. I ain't got no bricks. I can't, you know what I'm saying? what they're called, masonry work? What? Look here, man. Yes, sir.
3:28I'm trying to get these people to understand. So, is Miami out last Ole Miss at Fiesta Bowl? When's the CFP? What's that? College football playoffs. Okay. I don't know. Look at this. This is why I want y 'all to understand something. I went to Kent State. I don't know what college football playoffs is. Okay? I don't know what I'm, I don't know what, thank you. And here's the thing, they all understand. Well, you know what? I got to take it back because it is Debo and Joe. It is Debo and Joe. Joe has something to talk about when it comes to college football. By week three, four, we're done if we're lucky, if we wasn't somebody's tune-up game, you know what I'm saying, getting paid to come and get bounced around, you know, for the right price.
4:14But when it comes down to it, I don't know a motherfreaky thing about what's going on here, okay? So, Joe, this obviously is 100 % for you. And I'm going to let you go ahead and take off and let you talk about college football playoff championships. Because that would be like you talking about championship ball if you played your whole career in Cleveland. You wouldn't know nothing about it.
4:37James Harrison:No, no, no. But let me tell you something. But this is something I do know about. And this is right here. This is the Florida Gators. And this is what we do. We win national championships. So, good old you. That's why I don't like the you. I don't like Miami. Everybody's all cheering for Miami. Go win the ship. The last time they won it was in 2001. That team was amazing. All of them do every one of the greatest college football teams in history. But as of now, bump the U. I'm not a fan. I hope they do. That was a great game. Hopefully they go there and get smacked. But go ahead and get smacked.
5:11James Harrison:Go ahead. I watched them when they beat Ohio State. I watched that game because I want Ohio State to get them out the way because I can't stand the U. and then I watched a little bit of that game because I hoped Ole Miss would get them out the way and they're in the SEC just for SEC pride. But the U, bump the U. I don't like the U. I can't stand the U. Tell Michael Irving, it's going to be belt to ass for y 'all, whoever y 'all play next. Go Gators. It's always the Gators. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. They got me. I'm losing control. Go Gators. Okay. It's always go Gators. I watched the game. The highlights.
5:48James Harrison:What happened? I was hoping that they would have lost. Beck, he drove the ball down. He did his thing. That last play, that's a P.I. Oh, I did see that. When we talk about refs and at the end of the game and how they always hold their whistle, you got to blow that. Because he was pulling my man down. Listen, he had him for a whole 10 yards holding on to the inside. He was in perfect position. The referee, he's standing there at the pylon looking. That's your job to make that call. Last second. He yanked him down, too. Yanked them down, bro. So in college football, that's not to the one-yard line.
6:21James Harrison:That's a 15-yard penalty. They get one more play. So it's not like he would have gave them the whole game. That's a flag. In college football, that's a flag. So, you know, they ended up getting there to them ship. They made it. It's in Miami. You know what I'm saying? Oh, you know what? I won the national championship when I was with the Gators in their stadium in Miami. So let's see if they can go do it. We did that. In 08, me and my boys whooped Oklahoma. Go Gators. Go Gators. Miami wasn't even nowhere near around even trying to feed. They was out there weak. They ain't been relevant since 2003 when they lost in overtime to Ohio State in the natty.
7:00Unfortunately, Miami.
7:02James Harrison:Unfortunately. You know what I'm saying? Fortunately for me. Unfortunately for you. Yes. Now let's get on to something I know something about, baby. Okay? Okay. And that's still a... Hold on. I had to pop off. Hold on baby. I got to get back. Go Gators. Hold on. Hold on. I'll be right back. I'll be right back, Joe. I got to get right for this. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Get right, Debo. Yeah, I got to get right for this. Just in case they was wondering, this that mention, this that 21 Joe Hayden Steelers 2017 jersey with my man Mike. My man Mike wasn't trying. Let me get, Mike Mitchell wasn't trying.
7:41James Harrison:Let me get 23 up off of him. Uh, Hayden. Hey, so I had to go at Rob G. Good man, Rob G. Let me get the 21 off of him. Let you get the 21. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Okay. That's what I'm talking about. Rob G. Good man. Rob G. Good man. Good man. Good man. I'd have sold that 23 to you fast. Oh, no. He sold me the 21. Had to pay a little penny for it, too. I ain't going to lie. Rob G. still good, man. Oh!
8:14yeah
8:14James Harrison:been there won that yeah been there okay okay I love to see it D-Bo I love to see it that's for all you that's for all you still haters out there baby mm-hmm I was like listen they had to get your boy and stuff hey my guy O down there went on here and let Adam know hey get your boy and stuff they went on here got it to me you know what I'm saying okay no for sure team miss you I'm part of the team, baby. You know? Hey, Joe, where you at? Debo, see, look, look. They holding mine. I'm on the way. I'm coming out for the game. So I'm going to get mine on Sunday or Monday. They heard what you said about where your heart at, though.
8:52James Harrison:No, no, no. Look, bro. They listen. Listen, bro. They heard what you said, Joe. Listen. Listen, bro. Joe, they heard what you said about where your heart at, Joe. Chill out. Look here, man. Let's just get into this preview of my still. I'll say our still. Come on, Debo. Our still. Because you ain't got nothing left. You ain't got nothing left. You ain't got no hope left. I ain't got a dog in the fight, man. You ain't got a dog in the fight. I'm going to give you a dog. Here. Here. Come on, man. I played five years for this dog. I played five years for this dog. Okay. Okay. Here. I give you the one that's about nine months old.
9:22He ain't full grown yet, but I give you one nine months old. Okay? Yeah. Look here, man. He's a little Yorkie. This game is very winnable for us. Yes, it is. We got to win in all three phases. That's defense. Yes. Yes. The big reason we're going to need special teams is I believe it's going to come to a field position game. Rather, that's the offense, you know, being able to move the ball on a short field because we get a good return or the defense being able to play long fields because we stopped them from returning. Okay. Now the defense always first things first, stop the run. They're not very good at running the ball, but you always have to stop the run because you never want to be fighting a two-headed monster.
10:14Okay. Yes. And then another reason for them is a lot of their balls they throw down the field is off play action, play action run. And like I said, it shouldn't be hard to do. I think they're only like a 22nd ranked rush game you know and i think we're actually good there we're like maybe 13 12 something like that in our rushing defense once we do that we gotta tackle the catch no yak from these receivers it's a good amount of short game quick passing we gotta minimize, what is it, Collins and Dale? Yes. And we get that done by pressuring CJ. We have to pressure and sack him. We must keep contained.
11:02We cannot go and do inside rush moves unless we make the play. You don't make the play. That is a bad move. Yes. Yes. Can't let him use his legs to extend plays. Now, the offense. We need to stay ahead of the change. We have to run the ball, even though they are a great run defense. They are the number one defense, period. Three, four yards in a cloud of dust is a success. Okay? The last dunk game option where you get a quick now to the receiver. Yes, okay, I'm liking it. Okay, okay, yes, Debo. Whatever that is, we need to stay ahead of the change, okay? we we can't let them be able to get us in third and long situations we have to protect Rodgers we do that by not getting in those third and long situations and allowing Hunter and Anderson to impact the game we can't do that I think their defense has like maybe 45 47 sacks something like that and those two guys account for 27 of those sacks like yeah you need to do that to be able to be able to allow Rodgers to do what it is that he's does and that's get the ball to Gainwell yep Briar Muth yep Adam Austin and guess who we got back D.K.
12:30Metcalf we got D.K. back right But D 'Amico Ryan, I played when he played. We did some Pro Bowls together. Okay. This is a defensive coach point blank period. I will guarantee you he is going to double DK and he will have that safety leaning over there. He is not going to allow him too many free one-on-ones. But that leaves more opportunities for the guys I just talked about before to make plays. And when we do get that one-on-one opportunity, we now have DK back. We now can go and throw the balls that we were throwing to VSM, MSV, that were those one-of-one you give to your receiver, go make a catch throws that your number one receiver goes and gets.
13:20That's how we do it. And the big total altogether, special teams evens out. They do what they need to do. They make a play here and there. They don't hurt us. Our defense has to play better against their offense than their defense plays against ours.
13:40James Harrison:One thousand percent. All of that stuff that you said, Debo, was exactly correct. And I'm going to start with the offensive side of the ball, too. Starting not winning on first down is basically what we're saying. We don't care how you went on first down. We need to make sure it's some running. Four yards in the cloud of dust is a swing pass, is a quick screen, is a quick thing to jailing, is a quick one to gain well. We're staying ahead of the sticks. We're not on second and 10. We're always wanting to get at least four yards. Second and six and lower. You know what I'm saying? That's always going to be the thing.
14:12James Harrison:And being able to do that is making – keeping Aaron Rodgers upright when we can do these quick passes where he's not being able to get these because their defense is really, really good. So we're in these third and long situations. They're going to be able to tighten up. Stingley's a great DB. So I'm loving like when we had the situation against the Browns, when we had MBS going against Denzel Ward three times in a row, that's DK versus Stingley. I like that matchup a whole lot more. You know what I'm saying? Because we do got our one versus your one. We got our guy versus your guy. So we need that in that situation in this game.
14:45James Harrison:So I'm loving everything that you're saying. That's going to be the complete right situation. Stay ahead of the sticks. Be able to get everybody involved. It might be dink and dunk in those one-on-one opportunities. Right. Let's see what we got. Let's make something happen. You know what I'm saying? Defense. Do play four quarters. You know what I'm saying? We've seen them be great so many times. Like being able to stop the run, being able to just eliminate the deep balls. You know what I'm saying? Just like simple things of not seeing people run butt naked down our field. You know what I'm saying?
15:16James Harrison:I discipline. Like it's done of me just being able to say this stuff, coming in here, Me and you talking about it every single week. It's playoffs. It's do or die. When you mess up your eye discipline, you're losing the game. This is not just, oh, no, we can get it back. You can get it back. Oh, no. There's no more film study. You're going to Cancun. You're taking a trip. You know what I'm saying? So all of the things that we're saying, like our defense, when we're saying the four phase, special teams, just do the simple things. We need to be executing punts. You know what I'm saying? No holding costs.
15:48James Harrison:If we do get a good return, no holding. You know what I'm saying? Like, don't be out there shooting ourselves in the foot because these are games where all of the plays matter. Everything matters. Everything is way more magnified. Every simple play. So like, oh, no, that one hurt us. A kickoff return that we get for 45 yards and they bring it back to the 15, that's, ah, we can't have that versus Houston Texans where now Aaron Rodgers coming out there, short field, we're knowing we're getting points now. Two first downs, we're looking to try to get a touchdown, we're in the red zone. You know what I'm saying?
16:17James Harrison:And so just our team playing a well-executed game that we've seen them play before. We're not asking them to do nothing that we haven't seen. You know what I'm saying? So we're like, just go out there in all three phases, play a good game. You know what I'm saying? Don't shoot yourself in the foot. We've seen you do it. We believe you can do it. So let's go out there and do it. And when you beat the Ravens, that was so good because we did it without no DK. He wasn't there, and we still manufacture victory. Big plays. we take away those three big old plays, like, that's a good game. But, like, you know, now, those big plays, take them away.
16:53James Harrison:We're in the playoffs. We made it to the dads with the ball, with the fluke, with the flukeness. So we can beat the Texans. You know what I'm saying? So you're saying the same thing I'm saying. It's just, like, lock in. Lock in, guys. Yeah, we can't have the negative plays. I'll put it to you like this. We can't have... If it's an opportunity, where it's a questionable play that you're going to make, a questionable call that could be made, and it won't negatively affect us, let it go. Now, if that call that you may get called on you is a hold and you're going to hold because he's going to get blindside on Aaron Rodgers and possibly sack fumble him, yes, hold him.
17:37If that hold is you just went and got hit on the double move and he's about to run past you and the option is to let him go or tackle him for the penalty and not give up the touchdown. Yes, tackle him. Yes. Yes, we have to make sound decisions in everything that we do, every snap that we play. That's the only way we're going to be able to beat this team, dude. Yes, I understand. Aaron Rodgers and Mike T got 41 playoff games, you know, together where they've won and all that. But, hey, the Texans don't give a damn about that. Matter of fact, D 'Amico Reyes, he threw a little shade like when they interviewed him.
18:15Listen to this, man. Y 'all got it? Play that. They walked back last night. They also have Alex Heisman on the other side. What are your initial thoughts on their pass rush and what the time is? Yeah, you guys are fired up by the Steelers, huh? Man, can't wait.
18:32What do you think he's saying there, Joe?
18:35James Harrison:I mean, yeah, he's saying like, man, wow. Y 'all, I mean, he don't want to hear none of them. You want to know what I think he's saying. Like I said, I've been with D 'Amico. I've been with Ryan. I know how he think. I know how he operate. I spent a little time with him. He's saying, we fed up already. He's saying, you know what? But I'm telling you that y 'all being real disrespectful. He said, you telling me that we should be worried about the Steelers? He said, you telling me that, like, we already are the number one defense in the NFL. fail and you're telling me that i need to worry about the stillers so basically he said i'm telling my guys yo we already putting this chip on our shoulder they don't have no respect for us we won't have no respect for them he said you talking about the stillers pass rushers do you think it Do you think it was an organization of questions?
19:57James Harrison:Because they would have had to respect their defense first, but do you think he just came in off the first question? So, guys, they got T.J. Watt back. He's like, first of all, like, you know, y 'all are disrespecting our defense because they didn't say nothing about his defense? This is what it's telling me, dude. It's telling me that he's feeling disrespected. It's telling me that he already done got his team to where he done put this chip on their shoulder. Okay. Okay. All right. It's telling me you hear. Hey, how to still say how Mike say it. There's still a they are all nameless, great faces.
20:32And we are the Pittsburgh Steelers. OK. He said, y 'all asking me about Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt and how we go stop them when I'm sitting over here with one player that got almost as many sacks as both of them together. and we the number one defense in the NFL. Y 'all talking about a defense that damn near give up more passing yards than we do as a whole team as a defense. And you over here asking me about the Pittsburgh Steelers? We the Houston Texans. That's what he's saying.
21:07James Harrison:That's what he's saying. That's what he's saying, you know? And I'm just letting the Steelers know that's what he's saying. You gotta say it, the lack of not saying it and what he did say, says what he said. No, it's good. TJ, Highsmith, Cam, 9-5.
21:31He's saying this to y 'all.
21:36Nescue, he's saying this to y 'all. Jalen, he's saying this to y 'all without having to say it. He's saying it without having to say it. We the number one defense.

21:46James Harrison:Y 'all talking about him. He said, oh. He said, yeah, y 'all the number one pay, but you ain't playing like, ooh. That's what he's saying. That's what he's saying. Where you at, D? Who going to be the best defense out there Monday night? That's what I want to know. That's what I want you to show. They could be number one in season, but when the playoffs come, it's single game elimination. You're only good as your last game. And we damn sure need to be better than we did last game. Show me. Show me, defense. Show me. Show me. Show me. Our discipline, baby. If we going to play that at zero, everybody get into your jobs.
22:30James Harrison:Everybody do your job. Every man whoop a man. Every man whoop a man and every good man whoop two. Whoop two men. Every good man whoop two. And they come in. They said the Steelers, Arthur Smith. he's to interview for the Titans head coach of agency. A Stiller blog says, what? No, ain't no way. Ain't no way. OC suddenly feels painfully obvious. 25:25In Miami? Yep. Whoever said that, man, tell them, go chew on wood or glue or something. I don't know. They sniffing glue. That's what it is. They sniffing glue. They got to be sniffing glue. I don't do Arthur Smith. Then he already OC somewhere. Like I don't, I don't think that's the dude that I want to try and develop my rookie quarterback or second year quarterback, whatever, you know, he'll be is Arthur Smith as the, as the head coach. Like he was, what was it? Atlanta. He was in Atlanta, right? He had Matt Ryan, Matt Ryan, um mariotta and then they had a rookie uh uh the desmond something um and what do you do with them i think matt ryan in like 2020 was mighty ice was almost 45 4600 yards right 2020 came in there at 21 they had an extra game and my dude ain't even get 4k of course he's older yeah you can say he's over and then they had mariotta that came in for about 13 and then that was followed by the rookie and i think both of them hell per game was like maybe a buck 70 a game something like that and then 23 same thing they started uh riddler he was about a buck 70 a game you know he get here in 24 man offense ain't been showing me enough sauce dude yeah like russ is like we ain't had nobody that was even at the the average or what i think the average quarterback right now is what is it like 240 245 a game something like that Russell's like 225 Fields was 215 hell even Rodgers right now is at 207 like I'm not saying Rodgers after a whole career of I think he was well that was before he got hurt like 265 a game like that's wild bro I know he older and all that but I don't know bro if I'm the GM and I'm looking at somebody to have come in and do that I don't know if it's him I for me
27:32James Harrison:I know it's not him what about you I definitely don't think it's him I haven't seen the creativity you know I'm saying as an offensive coordinator I'm like a lot honestly just dink and dunks there's no real route tree I'm not really seeing why I'm not seeing nobody open being schemed open or it's not really too much it's just a lot of a lot of dink dunks a lot of basics so that that That doesn't seem like nothing that's giving me hope for, you know what I'm saying, the future. I need to see something like these young, like McVay. If he's ready to go somewhere, these offensive-minded dudes, you're seeing literally Chicago people being schemed open.
28:08James Harrison:You're seeing people setting up the quarterback for success where it's not only you have to put the ball in the right spot, but you're seeing people being schemed open, like offenses running, flowing. Like this is a lot of dink-dunk. Like it looks really, really simple. like anybody could kind of run that so with that I'm like no disrespect but I'm not rocking with it yeah I mean when you really look at it like I mean over the course of the last whatever three four weeks whatever it is you see Aaron doing a lot of just talking to these guys at the line hey run this run that and when you know when I see stuff like that where the quarterback is constantly doing that it's not just you know a play here play there that that leads me to believe that we have we have some type of deficiency like you know it's times where you have receiving receivers or receiving cores of you know a number of people in you know different years whatever it may be usually it's younger guys but they they can't understand and grasp the concept of being able to read a defense so when you know your success as a quarterback is predicated on how well your receivers are are being able to to read and understand what they're running out there against and you have something called that's you know a man beater route and you go zone and that you you go against zone and he keep running through a prime example uh massacry when i played oh yeah yeah that was a he was running a man beater instead of him sitting down instead of coaches he led him straight into me because they were running a man beater route where he should have sat down in the hole somewhere and he didn't and you know he paid for it he got put to sleep So I think that's something where Aaron has now had enough time to get these guys together.
29:48You hear where he's saying, like, you know, they're meeting at his house. They're at his house, you know, multiple times a week. And I think that's one of those things where he's starting to have to do it. Like, hey, maybe the coaches ain't doing it. Like, hey, sit down. I'm going to show you. You got to do this. You got to learn this. You got to understand this because it's going to help me help you. Once you turn, it's going to help the team. You know, that's really what I feel. What do you think?
30:11James Harrison:I think you're saying your own point. And I think since having Aaron Rodgers being able to, like you said, a lot of these things, when it's man-to-man, he's knowing who's playing who, motioning out Gainwell, telling him to run certain routes. Like, that's just a quarterback knowing this is man, he's better than you, and I'm going to put him in position. Any other quarterback, they're not going to feel the authority or being able to be like, look, go out there and run a double move because the running back's on the linebacker. I like that matchup. I'm going to go there. You know what I'm saying?
30:40James Harrison:And so that's just, that's not in the offense. That's having a veteran quarterback doing this. So I think that we're kind of saying the same. If we had an offensive coordinator, that can put them in a position to know that stuff. But right now I think it's going to be good because we got A-Rod. He's talking to all these dudes. He can figure it out. And that's what they've been doing this year. So to get through this season, I like it. But moving forward with the OC, if you want to get more creative and being able to have anybody come in there, quarterback, putting them in positions to where people are going to be schemed more open.
31:11It'll make it easier. Yeah, I'm with you. I mean, I hope he get the job just because he's not here anymore. I mean, that's hard. That's hard. Just get honest. You know. So, I don't know. Yeah. I mean, it'd be a great opportunity for him.
31:32James Harrison:No, for sure. For sure. I hope he thrives. Get a chance to get back, you know, at the top. but it also leaves us with an opening that we could possibly, I don't know if it'll be filled though. You know how that works. I don't know if it'll be filled properly. So that's something else. That's another throw for another day. But we got what happened. Yeah. High hopes for the offensive coordinator. Yeah. High, yeah. High hopes. Yeah, man. Let's get creative with it. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway. It don't matter, man. But look here. What's we got, brother? Your head coach over there in Cleveland, he gone.
32:14Yes. He gone. You know, people look at things, they go back and they find things and they look at things and they analyze things. And, you know, somebody analyzed something that, you know, Miles Garrett, you know, his reaction from, you know, how he felt when, you know, Kevin Stefanski said something. Look at the video. You tell me.
32:41James Harrison:I do not lie to you. Do I ever lie? I don't lie to you. You don't lie to me about this game, okay? And you know how I feel about this game.
32:52James Harrison:Oh!
33:02Joe. Yo. Hey, listen, you've been over there in Cleveland. You've you've played with Miles. You know, kind of how his reactions or how he would respond to something. And you tell me what was said was, I don't lie. And you what do you think that reaction means, Joe?
33:30James Harrison:Well, you know exactly what that reaction means. Boy, you lie. Boy, you be lying. Boy, you lie all the time. You lied just now. You lied about not lying. But just being funny, because you know how somebody, them eyes. Hey. Y 'all heard that boy? Hey. Y 'all heard what that boy said? Well, hold up. Hey, you got to replay that again. And look at the other captain, 7 '5", right there. Joel, look at Joel. Joel, them dudes, man. He did a smile laugh looking to the right, too, before they glanced off him. Come on, man. Look, yeah, brother. You know what it is, Debo. Like, you know. Hey, man. Hey, here's the crazy thing, though.
34:13Who shot the video? Because it's in the locker room.
34:17James Harrison:Is that, is it media? Who's media? Brown media. Brown's media. Hey. Hey. Yes, if you know. The Browns official account posted that and they did not do, they do diligence. No, no, no. Looking and seeing what exactly was going on in the background. While your coach was doing his locker room speech, you did not pay attention to the people in the back. The people in the back say a thousand words. When people ain't watching the film, it's the funniest stuff that's going on is the reaction. So you can watch a video and see a different thing a thousand times when you watch it. And then you get to watch it and you get to be like, oh, in real time, that's how you really feel about certain situations.
35:10James Harrison:And everybody knows that, look, somebody says something funny or that is obviously you feel like is a lie. And you get to looking at one of your homies that you know. You're like this. Hey. Hey. And then you get real smooth. And he look at the other guy like, oh, camera look at that. They know I just made that. Oh, they just caught me. They caught me. He wish he had these joints. But look here. But look here. Where's your quality control of who's putting this out on your official? Because this is what I'm telling you. They so ready to be first. Debo, Debo, Debo, Debo. It's live. Your coach gets one time to have a pre-after game speech.
35:53James Harrison:And this is getting recorded like everybody. But the Browns account posted it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they had time to go back and look at it. They like this. So this is what they're thinking. What are we going to do? Not just post coaches after game speech and after the win? We have to put something out to the fans. They should have cut that part out, though. They should have took their time and edited it. They should have squared that down to where you can only see his face. Where you can only see coach the fans. They just follow him. Follow him. Squeeze that. Edit that. Just him and the ball.
36:28Squeeze it down. You know how you take a picture and you don't want that little thing in the corner right there.
36:32James Harrison:They should have took their time. They getting too geek. They wanted Miles in there. They was happy. Oh yeah, we got Miles in there. Yeah, we got Miles in there. Yeah, you got Miles in the joint showing that he's actively laughing. Oh no. Hell no. You know Eli. What are you talking about? You got to be able to have Miles in while he's chilling. and as soon as he about to look at somebody crazy, you just zoom in to Coach Stefanski. Boom. And as soon as mom gets back to regular looking, then you can widen the screen back up. That's what they would have had to do. So who do you think will be the next head coach then?
37:05John Harbaugh.
37:08James Harrison:Ooh. John Harbaugh. Yes, sir. Please. Oh, my. Come and do what you got to do. Whip them into shape. Them boys will be ready to listen to that man. They will respect that man. Miles will respect them. Denzel. Everybody. Everybody going to listen to him, too. They're going to have to. They're going to have to. He's proven. We need somebody proven. Don't come in here with no janky somebody. No. I love our defensive coordinator. I love sports. I love our offensive coordinator. Joe, why would you say that? Because it's the smartest thing that we could do. No. Hell no. But Harbaugh's saying he wants to be, if he coming in, he wants to bring in the GM.
37:53James Harrison:I think that's what he's saying. Y 'all keeping y 'all GM though, right? Yes. I think we're keeping Andrew Barry. But look, hopefully they get along. I think Andrew Barry could come in there and say, look, man, I hope your mission is my mission. If Andrew Barry's smart, because that's a great coach. I think they might be able to get on the same page. I refuse to allow it. I would love it. I heard through the break. Harbaugh to the land. You heard it here. I heard this. I don't want to listen. Allegedly. Let me put this out here. Let me put this out here. This is allegedly. This is allegedly. I allegedly heard that.
38:24Hardball's going there. Your. What's the guy's name? The GM. Andrew Barry. Andrew Barry. Yes. Said that hardball. Allegedly. I heard this. Allegedly. Uh-huh. Is an asshole. Is what? Asshole. John, don't go there. guess no no he don't like you John
38:45James Harrison:no he doesn't he loves John John Andrew Barry I know we got Andrew Barry we got a real people that are smart and John Harbaugh is a smart man hey John go over there with your brother nope come on to the land just don't don't go over there listen he don't like you I heard it through the grapevine like the California Raisins no you know that was the smartest thing I said in a long time That threw me. I ain't going to lie. It kind of made me nervous. Yep. It kind of made me nervous. I ain't going to lie. You did it a little bit. Yep. A little bit. Yep. You want John Harbaugh. I want John Harbaugh for the Browns so bad.
39:25James Harrison:I would be so deep. So you want him to go against us? No, I mean, look. He already been going against us. That's why you ain't got a T-shirt and hat. That right there. You just want them to keep. No, bro. All right. I don't care. That's why you ain't got to... I'm going to go get me a hat and t-shirt. Still. Oh, my goodness. I'm going to go beat... Look, because Debo... Why would you put that out there, man? They just fired Hall Ball, man. Like, why would you put that... That don't make sense for you to put that in the air. It does make sense. It makes perfect sense. That's what we need. If they want to be serious...
40:01James Harrison:Yo, that just, like, kind of made me mad. I'm, like, kind of... Yeah. You know what... That... That... That... When I know... You keep saying we. Who is we? because I ain't with you on that. Huh? We getting hardball. We ain't getting hardball. The Browns are getting hardball. Okay. That is what's going to happen. Yes. Yes, Debo. They fired him over there
40:32in Baltimore, okay? Yes. They fired him over there in Baltimore. You know why they fired him over there in Baltimore? Why? Don't know why they fired him over there in Baltimore. Me either. I will say this. Todd Monken, he said he didn't coach Lamar well enough. How do you feel about that statement, Joe?
40:54James Harrison:You think he didn't coach him well enough? He said he didn't coach Lamar well enough. When you look at, I think I saw something where he was like 8-2 with Flacco in the playoffs and it wasn't as good with Lamar. I mean, Lamar won MVPs, though. So Lamar was out there legitimately balling. You're talking about just not getting him to the peak, the high of heights, because he won the Super Bowl with Flacco and with Lamar through these years. He still hasn't done it. And Lamar's a great player, not even comparing. He's so much better than Flacco. But when you're looking at it, he's trying to say, did he coach him high enough to the heights he won MVPs?
41:27James Harrison:They did not win any Super Bowls. So I don't, I can't knock Lamar like that. I'm not putting Lamar on Lamar at all. I'm looking at Jen Harbaugh. When the standard is Super Bowl, then I'm looking at him trying to say, you weren't able to coach this MVP player for us to win the Super Bowl. I can understand what he's saying when they had Flacco there and they did win it. I can see the defense led them when Flacco was there. I can hear people saying things like that. But in my perspective, I can see why he said it, though. If you have an MVP player, I can see why you wouldn't want to. But for me, as anybody else, you're just going to, I don't know.
42:05James Harrison:It's so hard to find a head coach. And now that head coach that you bring in, like, Lamar Jackson has been playing to MVP level. So if you don't win a Super Bowl, then how much long, how much change, how much leash do you get this new coach? You know what I'm saying? Like, I just, I don't know where they're going to go from there because Harbo's a great coach, in my opinion. He's been doing a great job the whole time. So them firing him, I'm like, ah. And then you say he didn't coach Lamar enough. Lamar won MVPs. Great. Like, it's just they didn't get to the highest. I think he's only been there since, what, 23?
42:38So, I mean, as the old coordinator. So. So. What you think? Where are my stiller haters, Raven fans? I'm about to piss y 'all off. Okay. I think this. What do you think? I don't think he didn't coach Lamar enough. I think that Lamar is in a position. Now work with me, if you will. Okay. Lamar is the great athletic talent quarterback. Lamar is the greatest reason that they win in season to me. But I also believe he is the greatest reason that they lose in the postseason. Lamar is a absolute generational talent, bro, like athlete. But as far as the actual NFL quarterback position and what it needs and being able to effectively pass the ball, he's not doing that.
43:56When you look at Lamar's career, he is, what, about 195 yards a game over his career. And I believe in that same time frame, average, the average for quarterbacks in that same time frame of, I believe it was whatever, eight years or so, is 245. So while he is a generational talent, he is a athlete, while he is the coldest thing smoking, as far as a pure quarterback, he is not even giving you average numbers while you have quarterbacks. Like I said before, like Allen, Prescott, Burrow, Stafford, these boys are doing 260 to 270 a game. And when you get into the playoffs and teams heavily focus in and take away what it is you do well, if you can't do both, you don't have a chance unless you have a dominant defense most of the time.
45:07You have to have that. Well, you don't have to have that. Most of the time, you at least have to have a dominant defense or you're not going to win a championship. And if you just go back to 2000, OK, it's only been two quarterbacks. No, sorry. Three quarterbacks that have averaged under 200 yards a game passing that won a championship. Who do you think those is, Joe? I have no idea. You got to know one. You got to know one.
45:45Who? Flacco? Nope. 2 ,000 Ravens. What was his name? Dilfer? Dilfer. That boy was 136 yards a game. Trent Dilfer was 136 a game. But why? They had a historically dominant defense. Yes. And guess who the other one was? who take a while guess you can you can probably figure it out by looking down stillers ben roethlisberger 198 again a dominant defense the only one that didn't have a dominant defense was the 2001 patriots tom brady i think it was 190 yards a game but they was probably cheating you know i don't know i'm just saying i don't know but okay all right i'm sorry but seriously hold on hold on seriously yeah but yeah i'm serious like just go back go michael vick but if you if you go back and you look at michael vick michael vick is another generational talent at quarterback like they had horrible times trying to stop this dude and you know they could not stop this man for running like you go back to his um before like he was uh he was only 157 yards passing the game in his prime in Atlanta he got better as he got older and you know he started being able to to rely on his passing game and he was able to stay healthy so I think from that 2010 to 2012 front time frame in um Philly over there I think he was like 240 245 something like that 246 again they went to the playoffs but i think green bay knocked them out in 2010 though they actually won the chip they beat us to the fastest anyway he was healthy for the most part now the person i think lamar is more resembling as far as how his career route is going is you got to go back even further dude who you got first original randall cunningham dude Okay.
48:01He was the first quarterback that was generationally talented like that. But as he got older, he started getting injuries, started taking away his ability to be able to do the things that made him, you know, successful, impactful. And I think right now we're seeing that with Lamar. Like, what is Lamar in? He's eight, nine. And, you know, he's getting a little bit of the injury, bro. up. So quarterbacks that play basically, you know, a second running back, like you playing out, it's a higher rate of injury. Like we know this and those, you know, those injuries that they're going to happen. And that makes them less effective from, you know, what they're able to do.
48:51And you got a quarterback, you know, that's in a basically running back, like Derek Henry position, Look at Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry is is getting into year what? Nine, ten, something like that. What year is Henry? I mean, probably on year 10. OK, so let's just say Derrick Henry is year 10. Derrick Henry in the offseason is going through a rigorous training program. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Now, you look at Derrick Henry and year 10 and people are astounded that he's able to still play at this level. They're astonished, bro. Why? Because he plays the running back position, okay? And that is a physically dominating physical position because you have to put out punishment, you have to take punishment, all that.
49:45And right now, the Ravens have a quarterback that is basically playing their second running back. But he's not putting himself through the rigors of the offseason to be able to go down in, down out, game in, game out in the offseason to have his body ready to handle it. And to be honest with you, I don't think he can handle it. I don't think the position itself can handle it. And that's why you're so astonished you get a guy in year 10.

Don't miss the feel-good comedy everyone's going to be talking about. Still doing it so big. So now that you're with Lamar in year 8-9, and they're like, oh, the window was closing, da-da-da-da.
52:45I believe so. And it's not unless he starts to develop his his past game. I don't see it being something that is going to be conducive to him to to be able to continue to play this way, because that's a lot of punishment on your body when you're playing the quarterback position. But you're actually playing it as a running back half of the time.
53:08James Harrison:I can see what you're saying. Definitely, because you're not going to he's not getting any younger. You know what I'm saying? Being able to lose from his rookie season to now his speed. Like, he's not going to get any faster than Lamar Jackson was when he came into the league. So you're not going to gain these steps. So protecting his body, making sure he does all of the treatments, make sure that he's able to be out there and going as fast as he possibly can because Lamar Jackson is an athletic quarterback. And once you start losing steps, that's going to kind of, like you said, take away from his game.
53:38James Harrison:The one thing I do want to say, though, Debo, is for the last couple of years, winning the MVPs and say these playoff games that he's lost. Bruh, MVP. It's been a lot. I understand MVP. No, no. But let's say, no, no. Just say when he gets to these playoff games, the fumble by Zay Flowers, the drop of the ball by Andrews, the missed field goal that we just had. Like, he's driven the ball down. I'm just saying, like, he's not. It's a team game. Yes. So I'm not sitting here acting like him. Yes, they didn't. I don't want to sit and bash Lamar Jackson. I'm not bashing him, dude. I'm just giving you history.
54:11And history tends to repeat itself. And it hasn't repeated itself since 2005. So you tell me that you're going to break history of when he, the thing that got against him is he ain't got a chip. He ain't got a championship. Ain't nobody did it since 2005. At the rate that he does it right now, as far as a quarterback in that position, doing that job, it hasn't been done. It hasn't been done in over 20 years. And the league now that is heavy pass, In a league now that has more games. Like, why do you think they put these rules in place to try and protect these quarterbacks? Well, they doing that to protect them so they can have the longevity of these guys throwing these balls.
54:54But when you start running the ball, you lose all that protection. So you got to build your body to be able to play that game as if you are going to run that ball. You're a running back now. You have to build your body for that. No, I'm with you. I'm with you. Look at the dude in Washington, bro. What's his name? The little slim dude. Daniels? Jaden Daniels. He getting fired on.
55:20James Harrison:He getting folded up. No, what's my man's name? The quarterback for the Giants. He's running around. The rookie that we seen getting hit on the sideline, running, taking unnecessary hits. So, no, I'm with you that he definitely needs to be able to start protecting itself like and because it's because his game that's his game like cam was in the same way once you start getting older and that's when we when we played cam i think when we hit his when we hit his shoulder that kind of messed him up but once you start if if running is your thing rg3 when he hurt his leg it kind of just changed his whole game because if you don't if you're not full speed and that's really what separates your whole game which makes you your your arm is Definitely good.
56:06James Harrison:Quarterback worthy. Amazing. But you're that thing where you can run like a wide receiver and be able to literally run away from DBs, run away from linebackers, defensive ends. That makes you way more normal than you were before because you're moving. A lot of quarterbacks can. He's like, oh, he can get there, but they're not moving like running backs, like slot receivers. When I look at Lamar Jackson, I'm like, dude, when he got into the league his first couple years, he could play wide receiver. I feel like he can move and really get out of there on people. he could run 4-3, 4-4. So now we're just slowing it down, being able to see like 4-6, 4-7, that looks a lot different than when you're out there running 4-3, 4-4.
56:42James Harrison:So we're speaking the same thing. I was just saying for him getting to, I know what you're saying, the 20 yards passing, it's not as high. But I'm saying he's getting to the playoffs with these teams and a lot of the situations, I could say the game wasn't lost because of what he did in a lot of those games. Do you know what I'm saying? I understand what you're saying, man. But, again, I like to look back. History tends to repeat itself or does not repeat itself or whatever you want to call it. But when you look at it, it hasn't been done. It hasn't been done in over 20 years. And they don't have that dominant defense that they had.
57:22It's hard, you know what I'm saying? And then that's what I was saying to you. I'm like, you're like, Lamar is worth the$75 million that the cap hit would be next year. That's 25 % of your hit. But, yeah, I don't know for me if it is, if I'm the GM and I'm trying to build a team team because I have a lot riding in him. And I now know he's he's getting older. He's he's he's getting more injuries. You know what I'm saying? Like he's getting he's not able to do the same thing that as you get older, you know, you know how the game goes, bro. And now you're talking about one of the biggest things that makes you what you are.
58:03You're now being taken away. And, yeah, you could play receiver. Why? Who tackles you? DBs for the most part. Not linebackers, D linemen. You know, like that's different. When you're at that quarterback and now you're playing, you might take a hit from a D lineman that's 340, 340. You may take a hit from a linebacker, you know, that's 240, 250. you know like it's it's a totally different thing and you're talking you know especially when he first started doing it dude was you know he was shaking and baking you know knocking giving everybody the spin move no for sure because you know you even and it's not even a fact of him you know being like hit and hurt he has he's having soft muscle uh soft muscle injury uh issues you know that's that's just where and you know weakness of of the opposing muscle that causes the other muscle to tear because you're not putting in that time to build up all that strength and endurance and all that over the offseason because he's a quarterback.
59:04I'm guaranteeing you he's not out there running routes. I'm guaranteeing he's not out there doing cut drill. He's not doing what Derrick Henry is doing. No. Okay. Yes, but you're right. He's out there. He's out there getting carries. Yes, yes, yes. You know, that's 20 % of Derrick Henry or whatever that may be at times.
59:21James Harrison:No, I feel it. He got to start training like that then. if he wants to, because, you know, it means not going to, the speed is going to eventually go. So you got to definitely start keeping that training going. Yeah. And then when you, you know, even the OC, when you have that quarterback, you have that person that's that quarterback, your backup has to be that kind of person. That's why Huntley makes sense. But at that same point in time, if you don't have that backup, it's kind of hard to keep that quarterback beyond his waning years because I got to have somebody that can do what he does as my backup.
1:00:00You can't go into training camp and do two totally different offenses. For example, Joe Flacco for Joe Flacco and a Lamar Jackson. You can't go in there and do two different offenses at training camp. You got to go to one and make sure your backup can perform the other.
1:00:18James Harrison:They did it at the beginning of the year. Before they put in, I forgot who they, what my man name was that the Ravens put in. Complete opposite of Lamar Jackson. God, he came in there for like two games. Oh, my God. I can't even know what I'm talking about. He came in there looking crazy. He got bopped. Yeah, he got bopped. He came out there looking ready to get bopped. And then you're trying to tell your receivers, you're trying to tell your O-line that we're doing this now. You done put in basically a whole new offensive scheme because what you did, all OTAs, all training camp, All preseason, we can't do now because the person that's backing up my starter doesn't have the skill level necessary to execute it.
1:00:57We cannot. Cooper Rush.
1:01:00James Harrison:There it is. Cooper Rush was the one. And we said Cooper Rush can't be out there running RPO. He's nervous. Right. Look at us. Look at us. Look at us. Aaron gets out there and he does what he does. OK. now we get Mason Rudolph or whoever else was out there and Mason Rudolph gets the same thing right now we get Aaron to where he's like hey it's this it's that do this do that it's looking different now why is it looking different because a lot of it I believe is Aaron and his work with getting his receivers online to understand and be able to adjust to what it is that they need to do in each situation according to what it is they see and be able to know what they're seeing do you know who I actually like Dio Debo too now that he got to sit for the whole year.
1:01:48James Harrison:We haven't ever talked about Will Howard though, the backup quarterback that played for Ohio State. He got hurt, didn't he? No, no, no. He didn't get hurt. He didn't get hurt? No, no, no. We just had him as the backup. He's chilling. I think they let Mason just rise above him. But I'm loving it. He's been able to sit this whole year. I thought he got hurt, dude. Long story as well, he's on our team still. Right. So I just know quarterback-wise, I do remember him and I think him being able to sit there in those meetings, listen to A-Rod, get some of this tutoring. He's a big body. I like him. I like him a lot.
1:02:20Hey, get A-Rod back after this run. Hey, Joe, listen, I'm going to go ahead and put it out there. I don't even care. I'm going to put it out there, man. Listen.
1:02:32Saturday, Sunday is games, right? Look here. This is what I need to happen. I need the Bills to win, and I need the Chargers to win. Okay. Then we got to win. That bring the Bills back to us. We ain't going to do that same bull that we did last time. No. That send us... I don't want it to send us nowhere because I really want the Bills to go over there and do something. I mean, sorry, I want the Chargers to go over there and do something. Because they already beat them once, I believe. Something about Denver? Yeah, do something with Denver. And then that way, we get the AFC Championship game at home.
1:03:12We play far better at home. So you're trying to get it to play the Chargers? I'm putting it in the air, bro. I'm putting it in the air right now. I'm telling you right now.
1:03:22James Harrison:So what you're thinking, though, is either going to be real talk. Chargers at our crib or us in Denver. I like that mild out of here. But I would much rather. I mean, if they don't lose, that's what we're going to have to go. I hear. I hear you still a fan. That's what I hear, Lord. I know I ask for a whole lot and I get things that I undeservingly get and blessings that I shouldn't get in favor that I'm well undeserved of, but if you can find it in your heart. What you going to do? You going to stand up? You going to stand up and show him? You ain't even got to say nothing. You ain't even got to say nothing. All you got to do is go out there and dog walk him. The offense ain't that. You know, CJ going to start talking about, I was playing better when I was in high school.

1:11:32Denver.
1:11:34James Harrison:Denver? Denver? For sure. Denver's defense and this Houston Texans defense. That's why I'm not even going to play. That's why we need Denver to get up out of it. We need Buffalo to get Denver up. Come on, for sure. Because if we want to talk about the least line of resistance, that's what we're going for right there, D-Bow. Oh, no question. Oh, sure.
