3:48Chad Johnson:On Joe, the Kansas City Chiefs are signing former Super Bowl MVP, Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III. Hey! Still moved to upgrade their backfield. The deal, three years, worth up to$45 million with$28.7 fully guaranteed. Walker coming off his best season, earning MVP honors in the Super Bowl, leading the Seahawks past the Patriots last month. He also led the NFL in postseason rushes, 65 rush yards, 313 rushing touchdowns, 4 in three games in January and February. Walker will become the first Super Bowl MVP to sign with a new team the following season. Since Dexter Jackson did it for the Buccaneers, he left to go to the Cardinals in 2003.
4:28Chad Johnson:The Chiefs wanted to upgrade their rushing attack. They're ranked 25th in rush yards per game, 106.6, and 20th in yards per carry at 4-2-1. This especially struggled down the stretch, failing to surpass the 100th rush yard mark in each of their final four games. Ocho, do you like this?
4:48Shannon Sharpe:I absolutely do like it I was upset that the Chiefs and do their due diligence and do what they need to do to bring a running back in last season at the trade deadline I was hoping it would have been Brees Hall getting somebody that can take the you see how they're doing it
5:05Chad Johnson:but they weren't willing to give him a second round pick and the Dolphins had a stood firm
5:10Shannon Sharpe:I don't understand you lost your mind you know what your team needs Obviously, when you look at somebody like the Chiefs, you understand, you know what, okay, you don't value that position the way you think you should because you have a quarterback that's so good at what he does, where you really haven't had a centerpiece or a running back like that. But now I think it's very important for them to get a player like Brother Walker and what he can do. You have a player that is really good. He looked tremendous last year with the Seahawks when he actually got a chance to actually start and play a bit more.
5:50Shannon Sharpe:Am I saying it right? After Charbonnet went down and got injured. He played himself into a contract. He played himself into an opportunity to play. for the Chiefs. So I'm excited. I'm excited for them. But they still need help as well. Yeah, yeah. In other positions. They do. Now, you said it last year. You said it last year that they need to get a running back. You said it last year because what they had, you know, getting one and two yards and three yards to carry, just ain't going to cut it.
6:22Chad Johnson:I think the thing is, Ocho, is like when you have a great quarterback, you're like, well, we could take maybe average or below average at certain positions. and because our quarterback is so great, he can overcome that. Well, finally it caught up to him and Mahomes couldn't overcome it because the running back, the lack of running back, the lack of big plays at the wide receiver position and the inconsistency at the offensive line, it finally, even Patrick Mahomes, it was too great for him to overcome. And then once he got that injury, you know their season was over and so they just kind of, they played, they continued to play, but they weren't winning anything.
6:54Chad Johnson:I like this. I don't really know where else where they was going to go. I mean, you look at what ATN, he went to the Saints. He got a big payday. I don't know if this means – does this mean they're probably out of the market for the brother from Love? What's the brother from Notre Dame?
7:13Shannon Sharpe:Jordan. Jordan Love.
7:15Chad Johnson:Jeremiah Love. No, it's not Jordan.
7:17Shannon Sharpe:Jeremiah Love. I'm talking about Jordan.
7:18Chad Johnson:I don't know if that's – they're out of the running, and maybe it's like where we're picking. We're probably not going to get there to get him, and so we got to upgrade this. Look, if you just look at Ocho, me personally, I'm not so sure that he's a top 10 running back, but sometimes in free agency, it's about being free. You look at some of the salaries that the guys are getting, they have to be free. And that's, it's all about timing. Location, location, location. Always. With a restaurant or business, timing, timing, timing when it comes to these contracts. It's everything. And so, like I said, I don't know.
7:56Chad Johnson:He hit it when he needed to. Have a great postseason, Super Bowl MVP. Somebody's going to play him. Now, I knew there's a 95 % chance he's going to go elsewhere. They're just not running backs unless you 17, 1800 yards, unless a couple of times, like a Derrick Henry or Saquon. Even Saquon really couldn't get a second long-term contract from the Giants. Remember, they franchised him. He had to leave. Oh, yeah, yeah. Henry at least got a second contract. And then they was like, well, he don't have no juice left. And then he goes and still plays well. Jonathan Taylor. But for the most part, Ocho, they're not really giving running backs second big-time contracts.
8:40Chad Johnson:And so I'm not surprised that he's not in Seattle anymore based on the production that they got out of him. Charbonnet will be back. I believe he'll be back. and you're probably going to go get a running back to fill the void that he leaves vacated.
8:58Shannon Sharpe:And that's exactly how they view it. That's exactly how they view it if you're not special. If you're not special, they think it's plug and play. We can find another you. We can find another you that can do exactly what you were doing.
9:12Chad Johnson:You're right. But the Kansas City, Ocho, I still think they need some, obviously, offensive line. I definitely think they need some receiver. They lost a little. They lost both corners. Both corners goes to the Rams. And we talked about this last year. I said, man, the Rams secondary is terrible. And what did they do? They went and upgraded. They got both of those guys from Kansas City. Now, we'll see how they look outside of a – what's the guys out of his system?
9:43Chad Johnson:Spags. We'll see how they look outside of his system. Right. But with Verse and the offense, with the D-line, I think we're going to see how that is. But Kansas City, they lost Brian Cook. They lost both corners. I think they're going to probably lose some other players. So it's going to be, look, Kansas City got their work cut out for them because you let it, the house, look, you could have repaired the roof and you didn't. And so now your plumbing is also messed up. So now you got to, so basically, Ocho, you got a lot of holes to fill. Yeah. Because you had this quarterback that masked a lot of things.
10:28Chad Johnson:And when he could no longer mask, you realize, kind of like makeup, Ocho, sometimes you don't realize how much makeup helps. Until the lights come on and you wake up in the morning, like, God, nobody knows. That's what Patrick Mahomes is. He's the greatest makeup. The great quarterbacks, they're makeups. They're the best makeups. I don't know. I don't know. This is before your time. There used to be a makeup called Prince Matcha Belly. And Maybelline. Oh, yeah. I remember that. Maybelline. I don't know what makeup. I don't even know. Mary Kay. Don't forget about Mary Kay. Mary Kay, the pink car they drive around.
11:05Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
11:06Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. I used to ride with my grandma. I used to ride with my grandma. But those really great quarterbacks, they are great makeup. And they can hide imperfections. and it's not until you're not able to apply that makeup that you see all these imperfections and all these blemishes and you realize like, damn, we're not as pretty as I thought we were. And the Kansas City realized that because all of a sudden Patrick Mahomes could not cover up those blemishes and he realized just how imperfect they were. 14:50Shannon Sharpe:That's how TD is making banking more human.
14:58Chad Johnson:Ocho, Dan Oloski was on Get Up this morning talking about what Max Crosby trade means for Lamar Jackson D.O. said, I love Lamar there ain't no more excuses that's all in Lamar responded on Twitter excuse me Dan, there's never been excuses for Lamar though
15:20Chad Johnson:I like that
15:22Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you know, he don't say much. He don't talk much. The fact that he even responded was cool. You heard me? The fact that he even responded was cool because he don't say nothing. He don't never fire back. He don't never say nothing. So it's good to see that for a change, again, from a superstar, a mega superstar in the game. I wish a little bit I wish a few more of them would open up and go back and forth when they don't agree with some, you know, a certain opinion or whatever it may be, especially in the offseason you know, enjoy yourself you know, let the people see a different side of you for a change I think, Ocho, I think
16:03Chad Johnson:look last year we thought it was the defense because we saw the leads that they have, Ocho, and they weren't able to hold those goals I think the thing is that offensively, I still believe they need another receiver outside of Zay. They've got to fill the hole at right guard. That right guard is just, ooh, Jesus. But I don't think they're defensively.

16:31Shannon Sharpe:He might get better this offseason. The right guard might get better this offseason. Understanding and watching film, knowing how you embarrass yourself because your nameplate is on the back of that jersey every time you play and you snap. It's a snap down. There's no way you watch film in the meeting rooms with your offensive teammates, your offensive linemen, and think you're going to come back looking like that next year. That's embarrassing.
16:55Chad Johnson:I'm with the machine. We ain't going to be able to watch film today. What happened to the machine? I don't know. Ocho, do you know how embarrassing that is? Ocho, we've all been in meetings, and they played offensive series in front of the offense. The wide receivers are in there. The tight ends are in there. the running backs, the quarterback, we're in there, the offensive line, and you F up. Yeah. Do you know how embarrassing that is? Now, just imagine how many times they cut the film on and he getting run by.
17:26Shannon Sharpe:It's the same person over and over. Over and over. Same one.
17:33Chad Johnson:So, I don't know. I think the thing is that we'll see. They don't have a first-round pick. Are they done in free agency? Are they going to try to get another wide receiver to go with Zay? I know they gave Bateman some money, but Bateman, I don't know what happened. I don't know what happened to him last year, Ojo. Too many games he disappeared and he dropped too many passes.
17:59Shannon Sharpe:They need a new center too. You talk about the right tackle. Now they got to be a new center.
18:06Chad Johnson:Yeah, they do. But that right guard. Lord, have mercy. Hey, that's a big boy too, Long. That's a big boy boy. Yeah, he shouldn't be that terrible and big.
18:26Chad Johnson:Big and for no reason. I think the thing is that, look, Lamar is like, I've never had it. No, Lamar, we know you don't make excuses, but I think sometimes what Dio is kind of alluding to is that people making excuses for you. You're not making excuses. You're like, hey, we got to play better. I got to play better. The one thing I can say about you is that when you don't play well, you'll step to the mic and say, I got to play better. That's on me. I got to do a better job of seeing it. I got to do a better job of reacting. I got to do a better job of throwing the football and leading this football team.
18:57Chad Johnson:Lamar Jackson, I've never heard Lamar Jackson make any excuses. He's never placed the blame. But I think the thing is that with Dio talking about the fan base that tried well, he doesn't have this or he doesn't have that. look, they're going to pay him a king's ransom. He's going to be the highest paid quarterback in the league. They went and got somebody on the defense. I don't think they can be done, Ocho. I don't. I don't. No, absolutely. I don't know if you can spend that kind of money. You got too many holes to fill, huh? They got too many holes to fill. I agree. I agree. I don't think you can spend that kind of money like you spent with Max Crosby, but I think you got to get some more people, man.
19:33Chad Johnson:You got to get some more. And your corners, and I don't know what they're going to do with Hump, but your corners got to play better. They just got to. And maybe they will play better because you're not going to have the time to pat the ball back there with Cross. No, no. Uh-uh. So it's going to be very, very interesting. Like I said, I want Lamar to win one because I see when guys win one championship, how it feels like the release that you get. I've done it.
20:04Shannon Sharpe:Now I can really relax. You got the monkey off your back.
20:07Chad Johnson:Yes, Ocho. Yes, yes. And he's too good. I mean, he should be a three-time MVP. He's a two-time MVP. I still don't care what nobody say. And Josh is phenomenal. But not that year. Not that year.
20:25Chad Johnson:Not that year. But anyway, Lamar go be Lamar. and can you give us three games on Lamar Jackson in the playoffs? The Lamar Jackson that we've seen in the regular season, the guy that's a two-time league MVP, a guy that was in the running that finished second in league MVP, Ocho, can he give us three games in which he plays like that? Because if he gives us three games where he plays like that, they're getting to the Super Bowl because he can single-handedly lift the team. Yes, absolutely. We've seen him throw for 400 yards. We've seen him run for 150. We've seen him do a combination where he throws for 235 and three touchdowns and runs 405 and gives you another two touchdowns.
21:13Chad Johnson:So we've seen him. He got a big running back that can chew up clock, that can chew up time. We just need the guy that's a Superman, number eight. We just need that guy to show up in the postseason. He shows up in the postseason, I think he'll put everything that's been said about him negatively, I think he can put it to bed. I think he puts it to bed. But I like what the Ravens are doing. They're going for it. They're going to pay Lamar. I think they need another receiver. They need a right guard. I don't think they're done defensively. They're going to fill some holes in over there. And I think they'll definitely be better for it.
21:52Chad Johnson:Look, you see the Steelers are adding big wide receivers. You see what Cincinnati's doing defensively? They're trying to get better. Cleveland is Cleveland. We'll see what happens with Cleveland and where they are defensively. I think they're going to be good. I don't know who's going to be orchestrating the defense. But, look, you got a two-time defensive player of the year. You got a top corner over there. That's a start. And you got the defensive rookie of the year. So you got some nice pieces. Devin Bush is in Chicago now. So you probably have to fill that hole, but they got a nice foundation defensively.
22:32Chad Johnson:I think the problem for Cleveland is offensively. But we don't think Cleveland's in the class with the Baltimore's or Cincinnati's. No.
22:41Shannon Sharpe:They got a ways to go before they get into that conversation. You think tomorrow is going to be a heavy day of movement like it was today?
22:50Chad Johnson:Yeah, it would be somewhat. Maybe not because everybody getting that fast action. Now, all these contracts are officially signed, sealed, and delivered on Wednesday. Right. But, yeah, I think we'll see a frenzy. I think we'll see some more things happen.
23:05Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, but today was exciting, boy. I put my notifications for Adam Schefter and the NFL on on my phone. Yeah, I have a note. Hey, I wanted to hear every time something came through. I wanted to know as soon as it happened.
23:19Chad Johnson:Ocho, the Tennessee Titans are signing ex-Giants wide receiver Wondell Robinson. Four years,$78 million. Robinson is set to reunite with Giants head coach Brian Dayball in Tennessee on a four-year$78 million deal. $38 million of it, which is guaranteed. Robinson kicked off his big day to join the Titans, who signed defensive lineman John Franklin Myers to a hefty three-year deal, $63 million. Quarterback Elante Taylor to a three-year$60 million deal. The Titans spent a whopping$270 billion on free agents today, Ocho. A notable former Giants, Cordell Float, backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
24:03Chad Johnson:Ocho, did the Titans do a number one, do enough to support number one overall draft pick last year, Cam Ward?
24:11Shannon Sharpe:Listen, I like Wondell Wright. I like what he did with the Giants last year. I'm sorry, Wondell Robinson. I like what he did with the Giants last year. he had some flashes of brilliance, I think they still need to do more. They need to do more, especially on the offensive end, to add more pieces or more weapons around Cam Ward. Calvin Ridley coming back from an injury, I'm not sure what's that going to look like. I'm not sure what the timetable is for his return, but they still need a guy. I'm talking about that, I almost said the N-word. They need one of them. They need a boy dog out there. Yeah, you know what I mean.
24:47Shannon Sharpe:One you can count on, no matter what. But again, it's still early. There's some other pieces that you can continue to add. So I'm excited for Cam Ward. I'm hoping that they do more and add more weapons around him so he doesn't have the issues like he had last year. There were many issues offensively for them last year.
25:10Chad Johnson:You're not, you could never have too many weapons for your quarterback. At all. The Denver Broncos are bringing back running back J.K. Dobbins on a$20 million deal. The deal includes$8 million fully guaranteed. Dobbins led the Broncos in carries 153, rush yards 772 and runs of at least 10 yards 21. But he also didn't play after November 6th because of a foot injury he suffered a Thursday night in the win over the Raiders. Last season, Dobbins failed to play more than 10 games for the fourth time in his six-year NFL career. In 2021, he missed the season because of a torn ACL and played just one game in 2023 before tearing his Achilles.
25:48Chad Johnson:Ocho, do you like this move? I mean,
25:51Shannon Sharpe:I like it. I like it. I'm not sure. I mean, that's tough, especially at their running back position. It's like it's tough. I'm not sure what to say unless you're the elite of the elite. Are you going to make that much of a difference based on that position? Are you going to be that much better than what they already had? I'm trying to say it without being disrespectful You know they signed R.J.
26:20Chad Johnson:Harvey I think he was Might have been a first round draft pick or second round draft pick Out of UCF It's just I think the thing is This is an okay deal You didn't pay a whole lot of money You only gave him 8 million fully guaranteed Based on his injury history Ocho I couldn't go longer than that I'm surprised they went two years I probably would have went one year But I understand spacing it out Because you know the 8 million fully guaranteed so you get to spread it out over two years. But based on his injury history, something tells me that he's going to miss time because he's missed time the last four years, Ocho.
26:54Chad Johnson:He didn't play after November 6th. You know how many games? There's still games in December. They still had one regular season game in January. So he missed maybe seven games. And then, you know, he coming off an ACL in 21, he turned Achilles injury in 23. He got nicked in 24.
27:13Shannon Sharpe:He's nicked in 25. he's had some when he's healthy though he's had some flashes yeah absolutely he's had some flashes with the Ravens with the Broncos I mean I don't know that's a tough one to talk about due to his injury history I don't like bringing up people's history and how much they've been hurt and what they can offer a team they feel he can do them some justice which is why he's there

31:18Chad Johnson:Joe Ocho, Calum Murray signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings that will pay him$1.3 million. Remember, he's just done a tick under$37 million, still guaranteed from the Arizona Cardinals, which has already been guaranteed. Murray has thrown 121 touchdowns. 60 interceptions and 32 Russian touchdowns in seven NFL seasons. That's been plagued by injury. Ocho, are we going to see another Sam Darnold story situation? The resurgence, a rebirth. We saw that with also with Geno Smith. He leaves the Jets, has a resurgence. We see that with Sam Darnold. He leaves the Jets, has a resurgence.
31:55Chad Johnson:Can Kyler Murray parlay that success? Now, the success of Sam Darnold is unprecedented because he had won 14 wins with Minnesota. He leaves Minnesota, goes to Seattle, wins another 14 games, and he wins the Super Bowl on top of that. Can we see that type of resurgence from Kyler Murray?
32:15Shannon Sharpe:I think so. And I think not only is he going to have that resurgence, we're going to understand why situations matter. Where you go matters. The supporting cast, what they put around you, what they surround you with also matters. And it's very imperative for a quarterback's success based on the weapons that's put around him. If you look at all the quarterbacks, you look what Sam Donald was able to do. You look what Daniel Jones was able to do from going for the New York Giants and going to the Indianapolis Colts, not winning a Super Bowl, but seeing the trajectory he was on and how he changed that franchise around in such a short amount of time because of the weapons that were around him.
32:48Shannon Sharpe:I think Kyler Murray is going to shock a lot of people. I see some of the jokes that are flying, you know, about his height, about him being short. I mean, that has nothing to do with playing the quarterback position, especially when you have elite talent around you like he has there.
33:03Chad Johnson:Hey, yeah. This is my pick for Kyler Murray from the start when we first started talking about this, Uncle Ocho. And I was telling you, I was like, man, because Ocho was like, he want to see Kirk Cousins go back. I'm like, nah, I want to see Kyler get a chance to, you know, have some awesome weapons, play with some great players. And I think he'll be great in that offense, not just for a drop back passer, but a guy who can improvise back there and make something when it's nothing. You know what I mean? I love Kyler in this situation. I think he's going to have much success. You know, I know some Vikings fans, they happy.
33:36So good luck to him, man.
33:39Chad Johnson:I'm looking forward to seeing this young dude get back to him. I don't know if you know this, but if you're going to be hard-pressed to find a quarterback that's had a better weapon than Kyler Murray, you know who he started with? Lad Fitzgerald. Is Lad Fitzgerald going to the Hall of Fame, Mocho? And then he had DeAndre Hopkins. Is DeAndre Hopkins any good? And then he threw to Trey McBride. Is Trey McBride any good? He's the best in the league. And now he has Justin Jefferson. So you're going to be hard-pressed, Ocho, to find a quarterback that's had more stable weapons than what he's had. His only issue is, and I've said this from the very jump, he is a small man.
34:11Chad Johnson:Injuries have plagued him. I mean, LeBron, when you're 190 pounds, okay, let's just say for the sake of argument, Ocho and Joe, he's 200. 200 at 5 '9", 5 '10". So when they hit you, you hit the dirt, they fall on top of you. Yeah. So that has been his problem, his being able to stay healthy. I believe if he stays healthy, guys, I agree with you guys. I think he can play really, really well. But that is a big if. That's the caveat. That is the question. Can he stay healthy? Because over his seven years, he has not been able to do that, Ocho.
34:50Shannon Sharpe:Right. Yeah. I mean, obviously, he hasn't. Injuries, obviously, Unc, you know, that's a part of the game. It's a part of the game. And hopefully, being that he's able to improvise, like Joe said, being that he's able to play off script so well, and he doesn't have to hold the ball that long because of the weapons that are surrounding him. Now, you name some great individuals, some great individuals. DeAndre Hopkins, you know, Larry Fitzgerald. I forgot AJ Green played that too, didn't he Ocho? What? Oh, that's right. He sure did. But listen, we're speaking to individuals, right? You know, in singular form.
35:26Shannon Sharpe:So now you have multiple of those same type of weapons. You know, Justin Jefferson, one of the best top three in the NFL. T.J. Hawkinson, one of the better tight ends also in the NFL. Jordan Addison, you know, who I think if he was another team, he could be he could almost be a one. You know, he's he's he's borderline one slash two. You know, he can get he can get it done, too. So I'm excited for him. As long as the play calling and the coaches play to Kyler Mary's strengths.
35:56Chad Johnson:Yeah.
35:57Shannon Sharpe:And find a way to hide whatever weaknesses he may have. If that might be a height, so be it. There are ways around that. We've seen Baker Mayfield do it. Baker Mayfield also shortened height. He's had much success.
36:09Chad Johnson:Baker Mayfield has been able to stay on the field. I think you went out, Ocho. You came in? Yeah, yeah. I think the thing is, Ocho, is that, again, Baker's been able to stay healthy your best ability no matter whether it's armed whether you can run 4-2 it doesn't matter you have a huge catch radius you can block the guy out of the film availability is the best ability because it doesn't have you do any good if you got a huge catch radius you can score all these points you can throw for 500 yards if you're on the sideline I've never seen a guy complete a pass from the sideline I've never seen one catch a touchdown get a sack or block anybody or run a touchdown.
36:50Chad Johnson:So his thing is he's going to have to find a way to stay on the field. Don't be afraid. Know when the journey's over. Throw that blink on and get out of the mound. Blinkle, blink, blink. I'm right up out of bounds. Slide down on that turf. You were a baseball player. You're the number eight pick in the draft. Slide. You don't have to. Once you get to this level, guys, sometimes guys try to prove how tough they are. You don't get to this level without having some level of toughness. I'm going to pick and choose when I display that toughness. Hey, a fourth down, we got to have it? Got it. Third down, got to have it, Ochoa?
37:26Chad Johnson:Got it. But hey, first or second down, we ain't got to have that. We got a third. We got a second down and a third down to get that, Ochoa. And Joe, no, sir. I think that's the thing that Kyler has to do. He has to stay on the football field. But injuries, you know, be it knee, be it ankle. I think he tore his ACL, Ochoa. He had some shoulder issues. Because he's had some issues that he's going to have to get resolved in order for him to be the type of player, because we've seen flashes of it. Rookie of the year, a pro bowler. So we've seen that he's more than capable. He has the ability, even at his small stature.
38:04Chad Johnson:He can get the job done. He just needs to be on the field more often in order to do it. Absolutely. What does this mean for JJ? I believe so. Hey.
38:15Shannon Sharpe:What do you mean? Hey, you took it as a top 10 pick, Ocho. I told you, what did I tell you yesterday? You said it. What did I tell you yesterday? If you don't win the job, he up out of there. If Kyler Murray goes to the Minnesota Vikings, for one, he's not going to beat out J.J. McCarthy. J.J. McCarthy, I mean, excuse me, J.J. McCarthy, he's going to beat J.J. McCarthy out. Let's start there. Right. When Anthony Richardson was with the Indianapolis Colts and they brought Daniel Jones in on a one-year, What did that tell you?
38:48Chad Johnson:Insurance.
38:49Shannon Sharpe:It's the same deal. It's the same deal. I mean, those that understand this business and understand how things work and how things operate, Kyler Murray, what is back against the wall, on a one-year deal for vet minimum, even though the Cardinals owe him$38 million, he finna play all balls to the wall. You hear me? He gonna have a great season. How could you not? If Sam Darnold can do it, you know?
39:12Chad Johnson:I agree with you. I agree with you, Ocho.
39:14Shannon Sharpe:So can goddamn Kyler Murray. And I'm not saying Sam Donald, obviously, a Super Bowl winning quarterback. But again, situations matter. And what he did in Minnesota while he was there, Kyler Murray can repeat that. Just in a different way because it's a different kind of quarterback.
39:29Chad Johnson:Baker Mayfield is another one that had success after leaving a situation. We saw him leave Cleveland. We saw him leave Carolina. He goes to the Rams for one game, have success. And he's had success. Kind of took a little step back. Maybe it was some injuries. Mike Evans missed a large chunk of the season. Buka ends up tweaking his hamstring. He wasn't the same player. But we've seen Baker have the resurgence and look more than adequate. Looks like a playoff winner, even though he did win a playoff game when he was in Cleveland. So I think my only concern is that knowing this offense, you're going to probably have to do a little bit more stuff on the move, Ocho, because you've got to get him outside.
40:09Chad Johnson:Yes, yes. Because he is small. I mean, if you try to make him just throw the ball from the pocket, he's going to be hitting linemen in the ass with the football because he ain't but so tall.
40:20Chad Johnson:So, but the thing is that you can do is that you can. Hey, run some boots with him. Go ahead, Olocho. You can run some boots. You can run play fakes. Look, you can throw between linemen. It wasn't like Drew Brees was 6 '5". And he had the second most touchdowns, the second most passing yards, the most 5 ,000-yard passing seasons in NFL history. Kyler Murray is plenty good enough to get it done if he can stay on the field. I agree.
40:50Shannon Sharpe:A lot of people, Joe and Unk, they always talk about his height. And obviously when it comes to the game of football, even if you're short, it's all about finding the windows. It's all about finding the windows and throwing in space, throwing receivers open. So as long as his anticipatory skills are on point, I think they'll be able to do some drop back stuff. Matter of fact, he doesn't even need to be dropped back. Have him in the goddamn gun. Oh, yeah, yeah. Give him an advantage in having him in the gun so he doesn't have to worry about, you know, what's in front of him.
41:19Chad Johnson:Well, I think he might take a snap from under center. Most of these guys, I mean, if it's, what, fourth down, Ocho, they're up under center. But for the most part, damn, everybody in the gun now. Yeah. I'm trying to think who mainly takes a lot of – I think Ben Johnson makes his guys. I think Ben Johnson there might be, Kyle Shanahan might be. That system, you spend a lot of time up under the center. But for the most part now, these guys are in, you know, they got zone read stuff calling. They're taking shotgun snaps. Yeah. Yeah. Kyler said he grew up a diehard fan of the team and cried when Brett Favre threw an interception in the 2009 championship game.
42:00Chad Johnson:Genuine fandom, ran deep, Vikings gear through and through. A lot of purple in my household. I mean, consider he's a Texas kid. You'd have thought the Cowboys. You'd have thought the Houston Texans. But he said, hey, I'm a vice.
42:17Shannon Sharpe:I mean, everybody has a story. Everybody has a story. For some reason, when they go to a new team, for some reason. That was their favorite team, Mojo? That was their favorite team, for some reason. Listen, if I see a picture of Kyler Murray and some Minnesota Vikings stuff when he was a little kid, I bleed out.
42:38Chad Johnson:we definitely were Steelers fans in my household because I took a picture I think it might have been third grade in a Franco Harris jersey yeah so hey this is going to be perfect time for Calum because you know guys all he has to do is just play well you see what Daniel Jones did he took a one he took a one year deal well he took a one year deal 14 million but he had had the guaranteed money when he went to Minnesota because of the Giants. So now he took the one-year deal. Who knows? He can get a $50 million guaranteed deal next year, a two-year deal worth$100 million. He can get one of those Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold's deal, three years plus incentives.
43:22Chad Johnson:I think Sam Darnold maxed out about$4 million,$5 million in incentives plus an easy $30. So that's$35 million. So he's more than capable. And he had a big deal. yeah so now and we can't be no more than like 28 i mean 28 yeah yeah he gonna he gonna get another
43:42Shannon Sharpe:one hey listen definitely gonna get away i'm think think about it think about it you have to be really bad you have to be really bad to have that kind of supporting cad joe yeah you'll stink it up yeah
43:54Chad Johnson:you just do no you have to be really really bad if you're a quarterback and you can't find gainful employment. You got to really suck, Ocho, because you know how many opportunities I mean, quarterbacks got like a cat. They got nine lives. Oh, yeah. It's not like other positions. After a couple of teams, you bounce around, Ocho, man, you find yourself in the USFL. I mean, the UFL. A quarterback quarterback go like, got like Sam Jones hung up on his wall. All of them he is. Hey, listen, due to what Ocho said, And, you know, with his back being against the wall, you know what I mean? He really got to show up this year.
44:36Chad Johnson:I mean, this is basically a one-year deal, especially if you want to continue to be a starting quarterback. He got to show him what he got. I think he'll put his best foot forward, man. He tough. He can play, man. Just sometimes perfect timing. You know, the timing, situations, different guys. You know, just somehow, someway, sometimes it pans out for the right reasons. Well, Joe, you were doing football season. they played the Cowboys and Ocho and they had beat the Cowboys, but Jacoby Brissett started. I say, Ocho, Kyler Murray going to be hurt a little longer, and I'm not so sure he's going to get that job back when he's healthy.
45:11Chad Johnson:And I'd be damned if the coach didn't come out and say, Jacoby Brissett's going to carry it all the way. Once you saw that, you know it's just a matter of time. Here's the number one overall draft pick. He's supposedly healthy, and you mean to tell me Jacoby Brissett, and you know Jacoby Brissett is not going to take you anywhere, but you feel he gives you the best chance to win, Ocho, you know Calum's going after this year.
45:35Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, absolutely. And Jacoby was dealing. He was. Joe and Uncle. Boy, Jacoby was dealing, putting up crazy numbers. He wasn't winning no games, but he was dealing. He was dealing. And you found out a lot about Michael Wilson.
45:46Chad Johnson:He can play. He can play. Hey, Marvin Harrison Jr., you got to get on your game. Because just because they drafted you to be number one, the number one Michael Wilson is playing like the number one
46:00Shannon Sharpe:yeah hey I think he gonna be alright he just gotta get out of his head yeah he gotta get out of his head and you know what I don't like I'm not a fan of it that when he was at when Marvin Harrison Jr. was at Ohio State he had somewhat of a slender frame and then he went in the off season he bulked up and he was huge I'm like you think that took
46:22Chad Johnson:you think that took a little bit of his a looseness away I think so.
46:26Shannon Sharpe:I mean, when you get that big, it takes something away from you. Obviously, you're a lot stronger. You're a lot stronger. But I think for him and what made him great at what he did at Ohio State, you know, he was a lot more fluid and a lot more graceful at what he does. But when you put on that kind of muscle, you know, just I don't know.
46:48Chad Johnson:Yeah, I agree with JoJo. I can't say that his slender, flaring frame, he's bigger than his dad. Now, his dad wasn't any size, but he's a lot. I mean, he's a much larger man than what his dad was. And so I don't know, Ocho. And maybe he thought that's what he needed. Maybe he thought the physicality, because the NFL game is a lot more physical. You've got to be able to play through contact. People don't just let you run freely. They're going to see. They're going to test you now. I got to see if you can play through this contact. Once they find out you can't play through contact, they're going to sit right down in the chair in front of you.
47:25Chad Johnson:Hey, they in your face every time. They ain't going nowhere. They in your face every time. You got to prove it. You got guys all of a sudden, Ocho, ain't got no damn business up in press coverage trying to press because they don't think you can. Hey, everybody get a scouting report. Yeah. What he can do, what he likes to do, what he likes to run on this side, what he likes to run on that side, his best routes. So, this is going to have to figure it out. But I hope Kyler can stay healthy. And I agree with everybody. I think we're all unanimous up here. If he's healthy, J.J. McCarthy is not beating him out.
48:02Yeah, I agree.
48:04Shannon Sharpe:Not a chance in hell.
48:06Chad Johnson:That boy can play.
48:11Chad Johnson:The New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith vowed to be better than ever in his second stint with the team. Geno said, I still have tons of years left on my body and to play this game, and I want to continue to try to maximize it. And so believe the Jets are getting better players than when I was in Seattle. And I know that for a fact. In fact, the Jets are hoping Geno can stabilize the quarterback position. They traded for him Tuesday, bringing him back to where his career began in 2013. He was their second round pick that year, became day one starter, and started 29 games over his first two seasons before moving into a backup role.
48:47Chad Johnson:When asked about the return to New York, Gino said, I don't think anyone could have imagined that, honestly, but that's the beauty of life itself. Yeah.
48:59Shannon Sharpe:What you thinking, Ocho? I mean, listen, Gino, going back to New York, we obviously know not very many quarterbacks have had success, you know, playing for the New York Jets. Obviously, from top to bottom, they've been somewhat of a bad organization. and putting the pieces, the correct pieces around to build a winning team, a winning organization. For Geno Smith going back there, he's going to have to have an out-of-body experience every goddamn week. Hey, Joe, Uncle Joe, he's going to have to have an out-of-body experience every goddamn week and elevate all those around him. Obviously, you have Garrett Wilson.
49:33Shannon Sharpe:You have Brees Hall back. I'm not sure. Obviously, we have the draft coming up. I'm not sure there's anybody in the draft that they can draft that can come in and make an immediate impact and make them that much better. But everything's going to have to be on Geno. He's going to have to be much better than he's ever been before. I don't care about what he did in the past. I don't care what he did with Las Vegas. I don't care what he did in Seattle. I'm talking about right now with the New York Jets, Geno Smith is going to have to play his best football to date.
50:02Chad Johnson:Hey, Ocho, they must have got a lot of draft picks, the Jets. I'm saying for them to give up, you know, two of the best defensive guys, you know, from last season. What'd they get in return? Like, do Geno got any weapons? Like, what are they dealing with outside of gear?
50:18Shannon Sharpe:Well, Dallas got Quentin Williams. What did they get for Quentin? They got a first. They got a first. Oh, they got two firsts.
50:28Chad Johnson:Oh, okay. They got two firsts. Remember, Ocho, they traded late in the season for A.D. Mitchell? So they got A.D. He's shown flashy. He can play nine. Yeah, he can play. They need to protect. Yeah. Listen, we can make a long story short, or we can make a short story long. I'm going to keep it brief. They need a lot of good players. It comes down to that. Yeah. Seattle won the Super Bowl because they got good players, and they got a lot of them. Yeah. You have a scheme. You get players to fit your scheme. Now, the thing is, if you got a player that's so immensely talented, you know what, son? I'm going to find something you to do.
51:17Chad Johnson:Even the Warriors, a prime example. He's a strong safety. He don't play like that. They blitz him. They do a lot of different things with him because he's that versatile. I'm going to put our best players in the position to make plays. Yeah. JSN, I'm going to move him. I'm going to line his ass up in the backfield and throw him a sail rod for a touchdown. I'm going to put him in the slot. I'm going to stack him. I'm going to zip motion. I'm going to do a lot of different things with him. Shahid can take the top off it. Okay, let's run A. Let's run a jet suite. Let's run a reverse with him. Let's put him on a goal ball.
51:52Chad Johnson:The more good players you have, the more dynamic your offense or your defense is, the better you are as a team. I don't give a damn who your coach is. You don't got good players? man you wasted your time yeah you wasted your time and the Jets need a lot of good players they're bad they're poorly constructed they're poorly run organization there ain't no way around that I'm not breaking news to anybody y 'all know that for you to be bad that long everybody's turned it around except them everybody's going to the playoff when the last time the Jets made the playoffs when they had a Mark Sanchez was the quarterback.
52:33Chad Johnson:Hell, that was like 2009. Yeah. Yeah, it's about their time to come back on around, man. They had a crazy defense back then, boy. Yes. But look at the defensive players that they had. They had Crow. They had Revis. They had David. Muhammad Wilkinson. Look at the players that they had. I think Pace, Calvin Pace was on that team. Look at the players that they had. they ain't got that now
53:06Chad Johnson:they were a run first team they pound you, ground and pound that's what they called it they had Damon Woody, they had got Brick they don't have that so until they figure that out and get better personnel you ain't gonna do nothing you're not league is too good. And there is no defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator, no head coach, Ocho, that can overcome talent. If you are in a talent deficit, you are going to get beat. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Ocho, Bears general manager Ryan Pohl confirmed today that the team was interested in trading for Max Crosby before he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, a deal that ended up being called off.
53:57Chad Johnson:We were involved. We checked in. We look to see if it made sense, Paul said. Had some dialogue. I'll leave it at that. Ocho, does Max Prosby end up staying at the Raiders this year?
54:11Shannon Sharpe:You know what? Hey, Anke, at this point, I'm not sure. At this point, I'm not sure, especially when a situation like this happens, one that I've really never seen before. I'm sure it's happened before, not the date since I've been involved with the NFL. but for the Ravens to decline in trading for Matt Crosby and sending him back to the Raiders, what message does that send to the other teams? He ain't going for no first-round picks. Right, especially for the teams that are in contention that would want a player like Matt Crosby who's going to make an immediate impact if healthy. Well, hell, even if he's not healthy, he made an impact when he wasn't healthy as well.
54:48Shannon Sharpe:So we saw what he did when he was obviously injured, But I don't know, Unc. At this point, most of the time, I'm able to say, you know what? It's for sure. He's not going to be a Raider. But once he went back, and I'm thinking depending on this just decreases his value. Yeah, for sure. Hey, but why wouldn't the Raiders want him back, though, Unc?
55:09Chad Johnson:Well, I think the thing is, Joe, when they started to build this roster, they anticipated him not being there. So they signed him, put a lot of players in. they thought they was going to have his 30 plus million dollars off the books. Off the books. And so they were thinking also draft compensation. Now all of a sudden we got two first rounders, two this year, two next year. Now they got one this year and one next year, which is their own. So they were like, okay, we're going to build this team in our likeness and our image, Clint Kubiak and Spicek. and but what it does it's just like anything once somebody tells you like hey this is damaged he's not getting to it he's not going for two first rounders he's not so what I'm asking is does he does his salary still no no no yeah yeah yeah he's back on their books yeah he's back on their books even though they didn't sign them other guys yes yes so you gotta factor that they keep him then they probably they gonna have salary problems basically well probably what they could do is convert that, put boardable years, add two years on it, and then turn a large chunk of that into a signing bonus.
56:25Chad Johnson:You kick the can down the road, but you give yourself some relief right now. And that's what you see. You see what the Cowboys did with Sean Gary, Ocho. They added a couple of boardable years, took his number down. Now they freed up$13 million in cap space. Yep. They front load him. Yep. it's a bad situation. I feel bad for Max. I feel bad for the Raiders because I can just imagine. Ocho, you're in the building. Just imagine you're in the building and they tell you it's not going to happen. That has to say. What? The knee. Yeah, we know, but we see some degeneration that we think is going to be further along than we'd like.
57:13Chad Johnson:Right. Man, can y 'all imagine what that feeling is like? Like, you know, having to go back to your team. It's almost similar to the Don Kinnick situation for the Lakers. Yeah, that's exactly right. Yeah. Yeah. You know, they traded him to Charlotte for that Mark Williams cat.
57:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
57:31Chad Johnson:And he failed his feelings, and then Don Kinnick had to come back. Man, that's got to be a mess up feeling. Hey, Joe, Ocho, hey, I'm gone. There's a new thing over here. I'm going with her. Then she put you out. Baby, I'm back.
57:49Chad Johnson:Hold on, what you mean? You're back, y 'all. You know, I would just play it. Mm-mm. Hey. Long as that chick clear on the first and 15th. You going back, yo? Shit, I'm back. Hey, I'm back. Hey, look, y 'all, we can play two-on-two in practice, three-on-three, whatever y 'all we need to do to keep everybody right. But listen here. Boy, please. I'm trying to crank this rotation I think and the thing is look Ocho we talked about it Joe we talked about say hey Chicago Chicago should make a play for it because he definitely in that division with the quarterback play Jordan Love, Jerry Goff you need somebody that's going to pressure the quarterback consistently you know he can consistently pressure the quarterback I like the Bears that offense is only going to get better Caleb Williams is only going to improve I'm going to get better.
58:41Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
58:41Chad Johnson:So now I need somebody on the defensive side that I know can win one-on-one. And he's tremendous at the run. I mean, there are a lot of guys that can rush the quarterback, and a lot of times guys don't want to rush the quarterback because that's how you make big money. Run stuffers, at the edge, they don't make no money. Guys that get the quarterback. Guys that protect the quarterback, left tackle. The guys that go attack the quarterback, edge rushers. That's where the money is. Because somebody got to protect the cashier, DeVault. DeVault, that's the quarterback. Somebody got to protect him. The bank robber, which is Rush In, somebody got to be able to get in there and get out.
59:23Chad Johnson:That's why you see the Miles Garrett and the T.J. Watts and all the Aiden Hutchinson and the Michael Parsons. Now you see the 38, 40, 46 million dollar guys. And Laramie Tunsil making 30 million, 31 million to protect the blind side. big money game changers you got to uh Ocho that type of money that's for game changers man oh yeah that's why I say I can make a case that LT is the greatest player to ever play the game because he made two position famous the left tackle and the edge nobody else can say they made two position famous he did because if you didn't have a left tackle you couldn't beat the Giants and then everybody went and got an LT what do you think even though Miles is an N he's an edge LT was a 3-4 he was a stand up linebacker so all these Derrick Thomas and Devon Millers and the TJ Watts all these guys that you see the Andersons who do you think that came from the left tackle when you see the Laramie Thompson and Big T-Dub and Mylotta and all these guys where do you think they got it the Giants because if you couldn't do you couldn't do it with LT You couldn't beat the Giants.
1:00:40Chad Johnson:You couldn't. Joe Gibbs changed his entire offense. He brought in the H-back because they couldn't do anything with LT. So it's like, hey, we got to get an extra tight end on the field. Joe Jacoby, Jim Lachey, all them guys, all those guys, Gary Zimmerman, Steve Wallace, everybody in the NFC went and got a left tackle to deal with him.
1:01:06Shannon Sharpe:You were the real deal.
1:01:07Chad Johnson:And then after that, everybody started getting a LLT. You got an Andre Tippett. You got a Cornelius Bennett. You got a Derek Thomas. Everybody started getting those guys. That's how good he was.
1:01:23Chad Johnson:After four years with the Raiders, Tyler Linderbaum is joining a new squad. Adam Schefter reports the center has agreed. Three years,$81 million with the Raiders. The deal includes$60 million guaranteed, an average value, the most ever, the most ever for an NFL interior lineman. $27 million a year. But things got interesting when Kyle Hamilton celebrated his teammate getting the bag on AG. As the Raven fan tweeted, sometimes I wonder if Kyle Hamilton hates the Ravens. Guy shares the most likely signing, but not like comment or share relation to Crosby or other Ravens news. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it's something I've noticed for a while now.
1:02:12Shannon Sharpe:I mean, I'm confused. Didn't they come in together? Celebrating.
1:02:16Chad Johnson:Wasn't they drafted in the same draft? I think Hamilton was one and then he came in later. Wasn't they in the same draft? And Marlon Humphrey tweeted from the fan account saying, you're not overreacting he's exactly who you think he is i know him personally
1:02:33Shannon Sharpe:what's going on i don't i don't know i don't know i don't know it's one it's one that i'm confused i'm confused i'm not in that locker room you know i'm on the outside looking in just like you so i'm finding out things that are going on over there just like you are now i can't pinpoint what the problem is i'm not sure what the problem is celebrating someone you know getting their deal that was a part of your team. It's weird to me. But the fact that someone's watching close enough to be able to notice from the outside looking in, that says a lot. I mean...
1:03:11Chad Johnson:Marlon Humphrey's still there, ain't he? And he says, you're not overreacting. He's exactly who you think he is. I know him personally. Certain things, look, you might be joking, but everybody don't take jokes the same way that you take them. Now, look, I understand that you want to congratulate because they were in the same draft. They were both first-round draft picks. I think Kyle Hamilton went first, and then I think he went, what, 22? I think he went later. Or was he a second-round pick? No, he was 14, and he was only 25. Okay. So, and I get your draft made. I mean, you're happy for you. I mean, guys that you came in with, Ocho, you're happy.
1:03:52Chad Johnson:All of them didn't stay the whole while that you were in Cincinnati. See, they go other places you're happy for. And I don't know. I don't know how you handle it. Obviously, we didn't have social media like this. They didn't have no Twitter and stuff like that. But I would have been happy. Hey, congrats, boy. Hey, let your boy hold something. Let me get a loan. I can't pay back. You know, I'm going to say something funny like that. You know what I'm saying? Don't you care? I'm simply happy. But I don't want to read too much into this chat. Y 'all read? Are we underreacting? Are they overreacting?
1:04:24Chad Johnson:I'm not sure how to feel about this.
1:04:27Shannon Sharpe:He might be trolling. He might be trolling.
1:04:32Chad Johnson:You're right, Ocho. You might be. So, like I said, I'm not really, like I said, when it comes to Marlon Humphrey, I don't really know. I don't know how we're supposed to take this.
1:04:49Chad Johnson:But, look, if he was just like, you're not overreacting, this is exactly who you think he is. and then if he I think he might be trolling too Ocho because he says I know him personally had he just left it open he's exactly who you think he is right I probably like uh but I think he's trolling I do I do I think Kyle Hamilton is sincerely happy for a classmate they came in in the same draft Kyle was 14 and Linda Baum was 25 so I'm not
1:05:26Chad Johnson:I'm not taking too much of it I mean
1:05:33Chad Johnson:everything I don't know I just think the thing is you try to give kudos to somebody and then somebody think you're taking a shot at your former team taking a shot at your own team they didn't pick up his fifth year option because they felt the fifth year option was about 24 billion which is about 5 to 6 million more than what Creed Humphrey, which is the highest paid center's making. And once they didn't pick up that, you know damn well. If they weren't going to pay the 23.5 or the 24 million, you know damn well they wasn't about to pay 27 million with 60 million guaranteed. Right. And you just gave up what you gave up to get Crosby.
1:06:18Chad Johnson:And they're talking about the type of contract that you're going to have to give Lamar.
1:06:23Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah. Oh, hey, what? Well, Lamar, oh. Boy, would he finna get?
1:06:28Chad Johnson:He finna get that job. He's going to get 62, 62 mil a year. 62 a year. What did Josh Allen get? What did Josh Allen, what was Josh Allen guaranteed? Give me 50. Hey, Ocho, give me$50 more than Josh. That's it, just 50, huh? I don't want 50. put a little 50 little 50 dollar hold me over oh yeah that's 62 and 50 dollars more than what Josh Allen got Josh Allen got 275 I got 275 50 I like it yeah but I look I'm not gonna read too much into this Ocho the coach traded Michael Pittman Jr. to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a three year 59 million dollar deal The news comes shortly after the Colts decided to give Alex Pierce four years,$116 million to keep him in Indy.
1:07:24Chad Johnson:Ocho, the Steelers now have the second best wide receiver duo in the AFC North. They got some big guys. Pittman is 6 '4", DK is 6 '3", 6 '4".
1:07:33Shannon Sharpe:Pittman is about 220, 225, 230.
1:07:36Chad Johnson:DK about 230. They definitely got the biggest receivers.
1:07:41Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I like it. I like it. Listen, Michael Pittman Jr., he's been really solid the past few years. Last year, he had 80 catches for 784 yards, seven TDs. The year 2024, he had 69 for 808 in three TDs. So he's been solid. He's been decent over the years. Been a great option for the Indianapolis Colts. Now going over to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but still, now you got two receivers. You got two big receivers that were obviously a little bit more upside with DK Metcalf, but you got two big receivers. But you still need somebody else. You still need somebody else. Along with that, I think. They lost game well.
1:08:14Chad Johnson:You know they lost Gainwell, Locho.
1:08:16Shannon Sharpe:Gainwell, but somebody else came, if I'm not mistaken, right? I don't know. I could have swore I saw a running back go to the Steelers, but outside of that, you still need another receiver, another option. Rico Dowdle went to. Yeah, Rico Dowdle from the Panthers. That's right, Rico Dowdle went. You still need another option, a receiver that does things differently that big receivers do. I mean, so you can't have the same of everything at the receiver position. Who's the quarterback? Who's the quarterback? I like the move, you know, and Pittman as a weapon, but who's going to be your quarterback?
1:08:53Chad Johnson:I don't know. I think they might be hoping that Aaron Rodgers come back. I don't know if they – because Kenny Pickett – Kenny Pickett. He went to the Panthers. He went to the Panthers. He went to the Panthers. One-year deal, yep. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think Rudolph is coming back. so it looks like they might be in the same situation that they were last year Ocho putting all the eggs in Aaron Rodgers' basket
1:09:19Shannon Sharpe:I mean listen that 42 year old quarterback or maybe the B43 year old quarterback is better than every option that's out there could be chat I mean am I wrong? is Aaron Rodgers a better option that quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers than everyone else that's available I mean I'm just being honest so he has again, the Steelers by the balls. Well, at damn near his entire career, he's had everybody by the balls because he has the power. He controls the situation because he knows they need him.
1:09:57Shannon Sharpe:I'm so excited. Boy, I slept by seven, eight hours a day. I wouldn't have worked out today.
1:10:05Chad Johnson:Oh my goodness. Unless they're going to the draft. I mean, who knows? I don't know. the answer ain't in the draft look if we get Aaron Rodgers back for a year and we say have Ty Simpson or one of these quarterbacks that can come out and learn up for a year Ocho
1:10:19Shannon Sharpe:right right right
1:10:22Chad Johnson:but Steelers gotta figure it out Aaron Rodgers can't keep coming y 'all can't keep bringing Aaron Rodgers back on one year deals he ain't gonna play for him
1:10:30Shannon Sharpe:I mean they have Will Howard but if Will Howard was the answer if he was the answer
1:10:34Chad Johnson:you wouldn't be hoping Aaron Rodgers come back and we better be known that we'd love to have Aaron back. Right.
1:10:40Shannon Sharpe:They would move on. They would move on.
1:10:42Chad Johnson:25-year-old linebacker N 'Kobe Dean signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, reportedly agreeing to a three-year deal worth$36 million. But it wasn't the length of the contract or the money that swayed him. According to NFL insider Jane Slater, Dallas was actually very competitive in the bidding for Dean's talent and made an offer that was very similar to that made by the Raiders. Dean apparently said he could see himself in both places. In the end, though, ultimately he went with his gut feeling and picked Las Vegas by what he described to her as a 51-49 margin. Ocho, choosing the Raiders over the Cowboys.
1:11:19Chad Johnson:I mean, both no incomes taxed in either state.
1:11:22Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I'm not sure what went about when it came down to making his decision at the end. Cowboys defense, that's tough. I would love to be a fly on the wall to understand those conversations he had with his agent and when he chose to go to Las Vegas. And why? Is it what Las Vegas is building? Is it a belief in them understanding that they've cleaned house in a sense and they're going in a different direction and trying to compete in the AFC West, right? Yeah, and trying to get better, understanding what they're going to do in the draft and getting a quarterback.
1:12:05Shannon Sharpe:I'm not sure there's so many factors that play into it when it comes to making a decision of this magnitude that's going to affect your career especially when you go and play not to choose the Cowboys the illustrious the product that sells itself with a star on its helmet Cowboys that have been relevant since I mean what who knows they moved the needle they do to not want to come play there to not want to come play there I mean it had to be something Yeah.
1:12:38Chad Johnson:When, you know, Clint Kubiak, you know, they signed a couple of guys. They're trying to build. They got two first-rounders. We know that. And they got two next year. We know that. So you get an opportunity. And they got money to spend. So if you hit get the right free agents, you look at what New England did. They missed the playoffs. They signed Milton Williams and they signed Stephon Diggs and they signed a few Mac Hollins, you know, and you go in the draft and you draft, you get Henderson and you make a few right moves, Ocho, and you write back your business. Raiders can have that to say, now obviously your quarterback's going to have to play really well for you, but if you make that right for agency, hit this thing in the draft.
1:13:26Chad Johnson:Now, the jury's still out on your left tackle. I think he can be good. You know, you hear people talking about his sense. He does get overpowered, the guy's the bull. And maybe that's his left knee. Maybe he can't sit down on that knee. He needs the offseason to get that knee healthy and be able to sit down. He does give up the edges because he got his ass handed to him. There's no way around it. He got his ass handed to him in the postseason. He did. You saw the Texans hand him his ass. Now, they were pre-rep pass rushers now. Benito and Bill Anderson and Daniel Hunter. They do everybody like that.
1:13:57Chad Johnson:They did not know slouches.
1:13:59Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, they do everybody like that. But you're the left tackle. You got to hold your own. Right. Hey, that's your money spot. Yeah, that's your money spot. Your money spot always got to be your weak link.
