In short

The “Nightcap Best of” episode is a sports-and-entertainment rant/roundup focused on (1) Chris Carter and Chad “Ocho” Johnson clapping back at each other over receiver stats and Hall of Fame logic, (2) Lamar Jackson vs. Brock Purdy quarterback comparisons and how stats can mislead, (3) NFL officiating—especially increased offensive offsides—plus Ocho’s “cheating the ball” talk, (4) Steelers expectations with Aaron Rodgers and roster fit, and (5) Chad and Cam Newton arguing about Madden ratings credibility and “real gamer” status, plus Ocho defending his handling of the viral Cat Williams interview.

Guests/backgrounds

Ocho (Chad Johnson), Chris Carter (former NFL receiver/analyst), D-Jack (Deshaun Jackson, Delaware State head coach), and Cam Newton (appears via discussion/clip). Travis Hunter is referenced; Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy are discussed.

Key claims

Carter says Ocho’s career production doesn’t match his own double-digit TD frequency; Ocho says numbers don’t settle debates and that he doesn’t care about others’ critiques. Carter argues Lamar’s skill set and role aren’t captured by stats and rejects QB-to-QB comparisons. Both discuss the NFL’s uptick in offensive offsides. D-Jack/Ocho expect Steelers to compete but likely not win the division. Ocho claims his Cat Williams interview format lets guests tell their truth without being cut off.

Notable examples

Carter cites Ocho’s “double-digit TD” seasons (and Julio Jones’ one-season stat) and contrasts with his own. Lamar example: 45 passing yards in a game context while the Ravens’ running engine and supporting cast matter. Steelers example: Rodgers/line concerns and George Pickens retention. Madden example: Ocho says EA should rate him because he’s a “true gamer,” while Cam is framed as recreational. Cat Williams example: episode hits ~27M views and sparks widespread debate.

2:11Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, while we're away, there's some people that have some words for you. For me? Chris Carter had some words for Ocho last week. Wait, me? Oh, yep. He said there were points in Chad's career that you had to go out there and tell him what to do because he couldn't get open to save his life. He couldn't get open against average guys. Chad Johnson scored double-digit touchdowns one time in his 11 years. I think I scored double-digit touchdowns six times. Scoring the football is the number one play as a receiver. No, I was not a burner. I ran 4-6, 4-6-5. But can do it every single day. can do it for four quarters and consistent at it.

2:50Shannon Sharpe:Ocho?

2:53Shannon Sharpe:You know what that get? Child, please. What are we talking about? I'm just trying to figure out what... I have a question. Before you even go, what the hell does that matter? What does it matter? Okay, you score a double in the touchdowns. Okay, cool. You want a cookie? Right. Okay. Julio Jones. What brought this on? Have you had a conversation with CeCe? No, I don't need to. I have a question. So, right, I heard also he said, well, he only had double-digit touchdowns one season. So he's not a Hall of Famer. But does that mean Julio Jones is not a Hall of Famer either? Because Julio Jones only had double-digit touchdowns one season.

3:39You had dumb that sounds?

3:42Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Well, sometimes I listen to things and everyone's situation is different. You know? Everyone's situation is different. Yeah. I mean, so stuff like that, I pay it no mind because everything is predicated off numbers and based on what they did, based on other people's situations were different. You know? Obviously, where I was, I did the best I could with the cards I was dealt. And I did one hell of a goddamn job. I don't care not about what you did. I don't care not about your numbers. It don't make me none. Why is my name even being brought up? That's what I'm trying to figure out. I don't know why it was brought up.

4:18Shannon Sharpe:I don't. Because like I said, Ocho, me, I don't really listen to anybody else's podcast. I got enough thing to try to, you know, to try to make our podcast better than what it is. And I got Club Shay Shay, so I'm trying to get gas. And I'm going with the book. It's like, okay, who do you think we should get? Blah, blah, blah. So I don't really have time to pay attention. but it just kept popping up not only on it kept popping up on Twitter and then I saw it on the internet and I'm like okay what brought this about? I said did Ocho say something about him or what transpired? For one you know I don't talk about people.

4:55We definitely don't talk about people that do what we do. Never. And you know I don't talk about nobody you know but you know congratulations on everything he said. I'm happy for you Chris Carter you double digit touchdowns and and your Hall of Fame and all that other good stuff. I love you. I wish you continued success in whatever it is you got going on, baby. I know what we're doing over here, though. I know where I'm going. I'm going that way.

5:24Shannon Sharpe:Maybe he wanted you to respond. I did respond. I just said I love him. No, but I'm saying I thought, I mean, I think maybe he wanted you to respond in a different way. Nah, nah. It goes back and forth. I ain't got time for that. Look, we done got too grown. First of all, you got kids. I got kids. I got grandkids. I'm not finna go, look, what we did, we did. He can't go back and score no more touchdowns. You can't go back and score no more touchdowns. I can't go back and score no more touchdowns. Who can't? We right here. Hey, hold on. I'm still scoring touchdowns right now. Oh, man, yes. You're doing that.

6:01Shannon Sharpe:Great job, oh, man. I'm still scoring touchdowns in life. He's talking about when we played. I don't care about that. I'm scoring double-digit touchdowns right now. Yeah, for sure. Come on, now. You're not hearing where I'm coming from. I hear what you're saying. I know. Come on, now. I know. But that's my thing, is that sometimes we get called up and talk about what we used to do. What you doing now? Talk to me. What you doing now? We were all great at once upon a time in our own right. Okay? You know, you did what you did. I think CeCe played 16 seasons. Wait, how many you played? 16. How many I played?

6:43Shannon Sharpe:I don't know. Hell, you played. I think you played 11 of 12, didn't you? 11. How many? I played 11. He played 16. How many yards you got? Man, look here. I'm just asking. I'm just trying to get a better understanding. How many yards you got?

7:02Shannon Sharpe:Ash, how many yards does CeCe have?

7:11Shannon Sharpe:but okay the chat says cc snapped because he was pissed at ocho for saying that he could beat travis in a one-on matchup 10 out of 10 times why is he worried about bro we just be joking when we say stuff man it ain't that serious he knew that he knew that because i do the same thing with everybody he just you do you just and so i said ocho can you not challenge everybody that come on here? Who? You. Everybody that come on here can get that work. You hear me? And Travis Hunter, C.C. had a kick below 14 ,000 yards. He had 13 ,899 yards. So he played 15 season. 16, I think. 16. And he got, what, 13 ,000 yards?

7:50Shannon Sharpe:Almost 14 ,000. Okay. So he plays 15, 16. He only got 3 ,000 more yards than me and played five more seasons. I had 11? I guess, yeah. Okay, okay. I'm just trying to get a better understanding on why. Okay, cool. Anyway, but like I was saying, anybody that come on this show, I have the utmost confidence in my ability and being able to do any and everything. That's something that a lot of people in this world lack. Even if you feel you can't do it, you have to feel you can because everything starts up here in the mind. so everybody that comes on here regardless of what sport they play or whatever it is that they do I feel I can beat them and if you feel if you feel you can beat me doing at what you do best whatever it may be you're going to have to show me you're going to have to show me matter of fact Chris Carter I'll lock Chris Carter ass up right now talk about what he did man you should he's 60 huh?

8:46Shannon Sharpe:he's 60 what that mean? he talking like he still got it get out here get on the field line it up Put your cleats on, I'll lock your ass up too. Hit man, Travis Hunter. We got a pulse. That's what we got. So we breathe it, we walk it, we get up out of bed. We got our right mind, blood running warm up our veins. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, hon. See, this is the thing about it. One thing about the wide receiver camp, the workshop that I just had, is I'm not just talking. I'm not just saying what it should look like. Honk, I might do it with my cleats and my shoes on.

9:17What? Out there running full speed. I still got it. You hear me? So it's one thing, once you go back in that structured environment, you know, with the X's and O's and you have a receiver coach that actually never really played the game, they just know the game based on paper and what it should look like.

9:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Like, I'm not there running them routes with you. I'm not only just, I'm not telling you what it should look like. I can actually display it and show you. Boy, this is Picasso. Yeah. I'll say this, love. I've known CeCe a long time. his brother and I used to hang when we were to the Super Bowls and stuff. I would just say this. CeCe, no one, the man joking. It wasn't that serious. No, no, no. Now, CeCe, I love you, baby, but put them cleats on. Put them cleats on. I'm going to show you. Double-digit touchdown. I put these two hands on your chest, boy. You won't catch shit. Lamar Jackson is the MVP of the league.

10:08Shannon Sharpe:The numbers don't tell the whole story. Several times tonight, he's shown himself to be the... Zach, nobody... We said this. no quarterback is asked to carry a load like Lamar Jackson. He's for the most part, we already know he's the quarterback. So we know he's their passing game, but he's also the engine of their running game. And even though what, what do you have tonight? He only had 45 yards. They only had, I mean, it was, I mean, you look at Ocho, they only had 26 carries. They had 26, they had 26 carries for basically a 102 yards. And a lot of that was a scramble. You remember he had that long 30 yard.

10:46Shannon Sharpe:That was a nice. Right before the half, they ended up getting him a field goal range. And so but yeah, we understand what's asked of Lamar on a on a on a on a weekly basis. Very few because no other quarterback, I mean. Can run like the top quarterback, obviously, Justin Fields. But Justin Fields, you know, that situation is what it is. But of the top quarterback, the Burroughs, the Mahomes, the Herberts, that, Tua, none of them is asked to shoulder a load. Yeah, and the funny thing, what I really like what they've done for Lamar, and they can even improve it more, is the supporting cast that they put around him to take the onus and the load off of his shoulders on not having to run, which is why I like the fact that he's now becoming what I like to consider more of a complete passer, because you have receivers that can get open, actually get open in one-to-one situations.

11:41You ain't got to scheme everybody because you ain't going to be able to scheme people open all the damn time. And we're going to talk about this a little later with the other team that we talked about.

11:51Shannon Sharpe:And what did I tell you, Ocho? Them Chiefs. Listen, did you see your offside today? I'm just asking you. Did you see your offside offensive today? Yes! Got one more question. Did you see a drop ball today? Yes? Oh, yeah. Yes. Okay. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But, hey, you know the NFL, you said what happened, Ocho, is that all the teams started sending the offside plays in. Ocho, they've called more offsides on offensive wide receivers this year than I can recall. I don't remember that many calls in my 14-year playing career. I don't. No. Do you remember? Honestly, no. And the fact that it was brought to our attention when the Chiefs had Kadarius lining up offsides, not everybody, they opened the floodgates for it to be called every single time.

12:33And you know what I like to do? You know what's funny? You know what I like to do? And I can say it now because I'm not playing no more. I like to cheat the ball a little bit. I like to cheat the ball a little bit. Just a tad bit because I know the ref is not going to call it. It's not like egregious, completely offside. I like to get a little edge. Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Maybe my face mask is going to the ball.

12:58I'm not going to block his view. You just can't block his view. His face mask, he still can look down the line and see the ball.

13:05Shannon Sharpe:Yes. And, uh, hold up. Red Hood. Oh, you disappoint me thinking Brock Purdy is as good as Lamar Jackson and thinking he's elite and pre - Man, I don't, I don't like what, you know, I, before you even answer that, before you even ask him, I hate the comparison of quarterbacks. I hate the comparison of quarterbacks for the simple fact everything is stat based for one, rightfully so, as you always tell me, because numbers don't lie, but the skill sets are complete. They don't tell the whole story, though. But the skill sets between Brock Purdy and Lamar Jackson are completely different. Yes, completely different.

13:36Ocho, Ocho, remember when they was having this early on when he beat the Cowboys, I was one of the only analysts that said Brock Purdy is an elite. They was on your head. They was on your head about that, too. Yes, yes, yes. But here's the thing. They got a net. See, they don't want to listen to what I have to say. They just want to take snippets of he said this over here, He said that over there. I never said Brock Purdy was elite. As a matter of fact, I was one of the few that said he wasn't elite. Second of all, just because someone is playing good, that doesn't make them better. You can have a better year than a quarterback and not be a better player.

14:16What is so hard to understand about that? Oh, Joe, there are a lot of people that won MVP during Michael Jordan tenure. Does that mean they were better players or they had a better year? That's okay. Same thing with LeBron. Same thing with Kobe. Y 'all got to stop this. See, y 'all trying to paint this picture. Now, none of y 'all jumped and said, Shannon, thanks for supporting Lamar, because when everybody else was telling him to switch positions and go play wide receiver, I was the one to say, I saw the man win the Heisman Trophy, throwing the ball and running it. At the quarterback position, right.

14:47At the quarterback position, I believe he can do that in the NFL. When he was going for the MVP, I remember his first playoff game against the Chargers. They were still in San Diego then, and they lost, and he didn't play well. I said, the guy's a rookie, and he's not right now able to throw the ball well enough in order to win. And what did he do? He came back, and from start to finish, he was the MVP. 36 and six. 36 touchdowns, six interceptions. I roll with him, but they disregard all that. But see, what y 'all want, and I'm going to go ahead and say it. See, y 'all got a problem with me. Y 'all don't want me to critique black players.

15:28As long as I'm critiquing the white players, because when I was at Baker Mayfield and Tony Romo and all those white guys next, y 'all didn't say H-I-T. But now if Lamar Jackson plays good, I got no problem. If Dak plays good, I got no problem. But I cannot in good conscience know the game like I know it, played it 14 years, and now study it as if I'm a coach. See something that's going on. I told y 'all from day one the Cowboys concerning because of red zone offense and what happens when the defense don't get pick sixes oh now all of a sudden man was right but that's not what you said at the time you said I was a hater when I told you from day one about the Chiefs offense the skill position and the offensive line oh shut up and what did I say Ojo remember man if Valdell Scantley had to hold that ball I said Ojo you gotta be careful because see if you base somebody's offense on one play look at it at its totality.

16:27Look how many times they dropped the ball. Look how many times Patrick Mahomes had to run for his life just to find somebody that was open or take off running. Man, y 'all stop this. I ain't got no agenda against Lamar. Yes, I play for the Ravens. This is how it works. I play for the Ravens. I played my ass off for the Ravens. I was fortunate enough to help them win a Super Bowl. Now I'm an analyst. What is so hard to understand about that? Just like I critique the Broncos. Play 12 years for them. I'm not going to stop, guys. I don't care what y 'all say. How many times y 'all said, I hate Lamar.

17:02I got an agenda. I do have an agenda to be the best at what I do. And none of y 'all, nobody that's in this chat, no more football, and can break it down and analyze the game like I can. So y 'all use y 'all criteria to hide y 'all critique and grade players, and I'm going to use mine. Take off, Ocho. where it's hard to follow up behind a sermon like that it's hard to follow up behind a sermon like that but listen i i understand where people are coming from i see i'm i'm on both sides both sides of the coin obviously uh i think people think more emotion as a they think more with emotion and being a fan feelings aren't facts though emotions and being a fan of obviously the team and the player so they want it to be one way they want your views to be aligned with theirs and when they don't align with theirs yes then there's a problem oh you don't like this person or you're hating on this person but again you have a job to do the criteria in which you judge and critique people is much different than those who are actually fans of the player and fans of the team

18:07Shannon Sharpe:people have to understand that yes marcus holstein calm down on us raven fans you've you've been fair with your critique appreciate that marcus i like to think i'm always fair but i just got to call it like I see it is. And I know it's hard to understand. I was the first one to say about the Eagles. Y 'all didn't want to hear me. Y 'all called me a hater. Eagle fans called me a hater. I say, you don't run the ball. Jalen Hurst is turning the ball over too much and your defense don't get to the quarterback and you don't take the ball away. So if you give it away and you don't take it away and you can't possess the ball to keep your defense off the field, you're going to be in trouble and you're not going to look as powerful and as potent as you did last year.

18:49Shannon Sharpe:we're the best team in the NFL but never fully healthy JK's been gone Mark is gone Staley is part-time left tackle and we still find ways you have that's because of Harbaugh that's because the Ravens don't make excuses I mean when I went there in 2000 you play like a Raven it doesn't matter who's in the ball game you play hard and that's what that's what John Harbaugh I can honestly say those guys are going to play hard regardless think about the great players that come and gone from Jonathan Ogden, Ray Lewis, Suggs, Ed Reed. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter who's in the lineup. It's what you have, the uniform that you have on.

19:27You have on that purple and black. Or you have on that white and purple. Well, we know who we are. We know what we represent. The standard is the standard.

19:36Shannon Sharpe:You play to a level no matter who's in the game, no matter who you play. And that's why the Ravens have been able to find success no matter who's in the ballgame. They don't always win. You're not going to win them all. But if you play hard and you play for the man next to you, you're not going to have a problem. We got to let Ocho have his moment. Ocho said he won his moment. Cam fired some shots at Ocho in his 60-second job. Let's take a listen to what Cam had to say. Press pause. Press pause. When you're moving like I do, trips don't always come together weeks in advance. Sometimes production shoots, interviews, or something I've got to travel for on a short notice.

20:15Shannon Sharpe:like the time when I had the last minute trip to Denver and everything came together fast. Once it was locked in, I had to be ready to go. That's where Amazon Prime can make a difference. When something comes together quickly, you can get what you need like grooming essentials, neck pillows, eye masks, even snacks for the flights so you're ready to show up for it. With same day delivery, all those items show up on time and still make the trip so you can show up and focus on why you're there and not everything around it. Because at that point, it's not just about getting there. It's about making the most of the opportunity in front of you.

20:47Shannon Sharpe:That's what I like about Prime. It makes easy to say yes when the moment shows up. Same day delivery. It's on Prime. Available in select areas. Terms apply. Visit Amazon.com slash Prime to find millions of items delivered fast. 21:40You know when people try a new food and suddenly it's like, wait. That's the reaction a lot of people are having when they first try Kewpie mayo. It's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. You've probably seen it in the grocery store before. And if you've ever just walked past it, some people would say that's a huge mistake. Because this mayo is different. Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Kewpie only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor. It's smoother, deeper, and almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything. Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers.

23:10who gives Chad Ochocinco the right to give Madden rankings he's been doing it for years now I know but how did he get chosen he's not good at Madden oh oh oh okay here we go so he is this a 1v1 has anybody seen Chad Ochocinco play Madden I know he's an avid gamer I know he plays soccer I don't give a man. Listen, man. He plays FIFA. Man, I ain't never seen Chad Ochocinco play. So is this all on 1v1? Like, I don't even want to play it. Who's played? Like, bro, I'm a big browser. You know what I'm saying? Shout out to Mario. See, that's how I'm with folks head. Like, bro, you just can't start and just play me.

23:56No, I'm looking down at y 'all suckers. I'm looking down. You don't just get the right to play the great one. Are you serious? do you know what these thumbs will do? Golden Thumb Productions. Golden Thumb Productions? Yeah. Are you serious? I've never seen Chad play. He's not in the field for real. He's not. He's just that analytical guy. So, I feel highly disrespected that EA hasn't reached out to me to really give ratings. Because you're in the field for real. For real. Okay. For real. And we're tough. and trust and believe, man, we can put whatever on it. Ocho, where you at, bro? Pick up the phone, baby.

24:41Hey.

24:45Ocho, the floor yours. Man, that ain't nothing but nonsense, man. He talking about he in the field. So basically, based on his logic, I can't give ratings because I'm not good at Madden. So let's say I'm great at football in general when I played it. You hear me? I hear you. One of the best all time. That's what that for gives me the credibility to give ratings. Now, I don't know nothing about Cam Newton in no field when it comes to no stick work. I've been gaming since 1984. I've been gaming since 1984. And this stick work is the kind of stick work that Cam don't do. I didn't know he was a gamer.

25:19I didn't even know he played mad. I didn't know. So obviously whoever he think he is on the game, I don't know about him. I've never seen him at a competition. Now, you know about everybody. Yeah, everybody. know I play the game. Everybody know I do that. See Cam, this is the thing with Cam Newton, you see? Cam Newton plays Madden Recreational. He plays games in general for recreational purposes. Like our game is a way of life to pay my fucking bills. See that's the difference. Yeah, yeah, big difference. I'm on some other shit, but if he want to play and we could put whatever on it, he talking spicy, we could put whatever you talking about on it.

25:58Okay, that's what's up. and make it light on yourself. Cam, you looking for these type of problems? Man, Cam don't want no smoke, man. Hey, Cam can't beat me in nothing. Matter of fact, if I was the backup in Carolina, I would have took the motherfucking job.

26:20So, let me ask you this. So, you didn't know Cam was a gamer? You didn't know Cam was good at Madden or other I don't know about Cam ain't good at, you know who good at Madden? You know who I know about? I know about Dez Bryant. I know Dez is good at Madden. I know that, you know, his, his, his prowess on the game. And listen, I've heard about it. So I ain't heard nothing about Cam. I ain't heard nothing about Cam. I know Dez Bryant know how to play,

26:49Shannon Sharpe:you know? Cause I remember Cam was challenging LeBron cause I got, I think LeBron has like a top thousand or top 500 top something up ranking. So I guess you get right. I don't know. Listen, now you talk about somebody don't know ish about Rick Mann. But I guess you get ranked. I mean, you play long enough and you get good. You get ranked, don't you? Is that how it works? Hey, listen, I don't know, man. Listen, the man, he talking spicy, right? He could have picked up the phone and called me. He got my number. Matter of fact, I'm from the blocking now. I'm from the blocking now. Like you coming at a true gamer.

27:24You know, this is what I really do. You do it for fun. I do it as a way of life. We different. We ain't even the same lane when we talk about gaming, man. DJ, you game? I messed around a little bit, but I heard Cam Newton like that, though. I ain't going to lie to you. You know who I really know like that, though? Derwin James like that, too. Yeah, Derwin. Okay, that's another one. Derwin is that boy on them sticks, man. I ain't heard about no Cam being like that on them sticks. Man, Cam just probably, man, he want to rank them dudes, man. He just really coming at you, man. Thank God dang. Listen, listen, listen.

27:59Cam, if you want to come over there with EA with me, man, holler at your boy, man. I run this. You about to put a word in for him now, Ocho. I got it. I got it. I got it. I got you, Cam. Come on over there, baby.

28:09Shannon Sharpe:Come on. Man, y 'all be taking that stuff serious for real, though, huh? Hey, Ocho, that's serious. Game in real. Hey, Jack. Jack, all my relationships ended behind gaming, Ocho. Man, for real. I can see that. Hey, I'm serious. I'm telling you. Half the time, you on here. Ocho, can you get off the game? get ready to get suited up. Exactly. Listen, one thing about a chat, you got to understand, Jack, you got to understand, listen, gaming is forever. Real talk. Temporary. You hear me? Yeah, for real, gaming forever. I heard you say that before too. I heard you say that before too. Hey, your game ain't going to never wake up one morning and be like, you know what?

28:44You tripping. You tripping. No, I don't want to do this no more. The game will never do that. Hey, for real. The game will always be the same every time and it always bring out this happy side of you. Always bring out this happy side of you, no matter what. I don't know. I mean, maybe. Hey, Cam, I hope you watching, boy. You got the right one, boy. Yeah. Stop playing with me, man.

29:05Shannon Sharpe:Stop playing with my top, man. You know what? I think I'm going to start playing. I'm going to get good to beat the brakes off you, Ocho. Who? I'll get my 59 hundred back like that then. I told you, I'm going to give you money, man. I'm going to give you money. I got you. No, you're not. No, you're not. He said, no, you're not. Yeah. Hey, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to start gaming. I'm going to get good. and I'm going to stream live when I beat you like 42 to 7. 42 to 7 in what? Madden. You can't. Come on now. You can't. I ain't. It's too simple. I ain't never played before, but I'm going to get good.

29:42I'm going to get good. You don't know how to work technology, so you definitely can't. Hey, can I do voice command? Can I do voice command? No, no. Ain't no voice command.

29:52Shannon Sharpe:We're not that far advanced yet. I would go talk to Zuckerberg. I would say, look here, man, you got this AI, this meta. I want to be able to do my gaming. I want to be able to talk to it. Damn. Nah. I would get good at it. No, I'm not. Because I don't have that kind of time. Yeah, you got that kind of time. Hey, let me ask you about another thing, D-Jack. The Steelers ran the ball the fourth most last year while Aaron Rodgers attempted the second most passes. And Arthur Smith spoke about marrying the run, a heavy offense, but they're the past happy quarterback. We didn't bring Aaron here to sign DK for all that money to go run the wishbone.

30:30Shannon Sharpe:DJ, now that they have, you know, the Steelers have always had a defense that could get out to the quarterback. They kind of slacked off a little bit of that when they had Ben and AB and Le 'Veon. They were more of a past happy offense and the defense kind of struggled. Similarly, they've gotten back. They've got TJ now and they've got Highsmith and they've got Minka and they've got Porter Jr. on one side. So they've got a really nice Cam Hayward. They got him. So they got a really nice defense. Now they got Aaron Rodgers. They signed DK. Solid offensive line. I don't think it's great, but it's okay.

31:02Shannon Sharpe:Friar Muth. They got Calvin Austin III. They got some decent receivers. What is your expectation of the Steelers this year? What's the ceiling for the Steelers? Can they win the division? Can they make a deep run in the playoffs? Can they get to the Super Bowl? I mean, obviously Aaron Rodgers in my eyes, man, he's I'll put him as a top 10, 15 quarterback all the time in my, in my book. So I think, I think he's a guy obviously coming off the injury last year. What was that? The year before, whenever the year before, right. And then obviously last year really didn't have the success we thought he would have.

31:40I think it's going to be tough. Like you said, the offensive line is really not the strength of that team. You know what I'm saying? And obviously Aaron Rogers, he's older now. What is he? 39, 40, he's 40 years old. Before the one and start of the season. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? So I think obviously he can't be touched. He's not the young A-Rod. He can't move like he used to move. So I just don't see. Why would you go get rid of what's the one? Justin Fields? Nah, the receiver. Oh, you're talking about. Oh, Pickens, Pickens. Pickens, George Pickens. Yeah, I don't understand. Why would you get rid of George Pickens if you had in hopes that you was going to sign to Aaron Rodgers?

32:15So for me, I know you got DK Metcalf over there. I just don't. Honestly, I'm going to be real. I don't see them winning this division right now. Not with my boy L Jack. Not with my twin L Jack over there in Baltimore. And I ain't going to lie, man. I think my boy Shadour is going to get in that starting job over there. I think Cleveland is going to be a little something this year, too. And that division, you got Cincinnati. You got Burrell. You got my boy Ocho team over there. You got Jamar Chase. You got T. Higgins. I mean, there's some cop in that division over there, man. I don't think it's going to be that sweet for them dudes to win that.

32:43I can't write that off and say they're going to win it this year.

32:45Shannon Sharpe:I can't. Ocho, what you thinking? They ran the ball the fourth most last year. Obviously, Rodgers wants to throw the football. He's always had success throwing the football. Obviously, like D-Jack said, not the success that probably he thought he would have or everybody had the expectations because he was supposed to be the missing ingredient for the Jets to take that next step. Obviously, it didn't pan out. They moved on after two years. What is your expectations for the Steelers? Well, listen, my expectations are for them to compete. They're going to compete not only in the division, but whatever their schedule may look like because they do have Aaron Rodgers.

33:19Aaron Rodgers is not the Aaron Rodgers of old, but Aaron Rodgers is better than what you had on your team before he signed right before minicamp. He gives them a chance to compete week in and week out. As far as winning the division, that's not likely. The division winners will probably be either the Bengals or the Ravens. I'm going to be realistic here based on the record between us. I'm going to piggyback on what Deshaun said, too. At some point, Joe Flacco will probably lose that starting job to Shadur and his tenure in Cleveland will also start. So outside of that, as many people that may hate Aaron Rodgers for the way he acts and for all the stuff he does off the field, some of the things he says on camera and some of the things he says on TV, he does give you a chance and he does give Steeler fans and that organization hope to compete week in and week out.

34:05All right, D-Jack, thanks for joining us.

34:08Shannon Sharpe:Head coach of the Delaware State, D-Jack. D-Jack, tell people how they can find you on social media. You got a YouTube page. You got IG. You got Twitter, Facebook. Let our fans know how they can find you. Yes, sir, man. I appreciate it, though. Obviously, 101 is my Instagram, Deshaun Jackson, 10 at Twitter, Delaware State underscore football as well, too. We're going to plug Delaware State in here, man. Everybody need to go out, too, man, support that cause, man. I mean, October 30th, man, at the link, man, come through. We had Lincoln Financial. Got my brother, Michael Vick. We're going to be first time.

34:40Obviously, you've seen us a lot catching touchdowns. Now we're going head-to-head versus sideline-to-sideline in our old summer grounds, man. So come out October 30th. Mark your calendars, man. We're going at that thing, man. Let's get it.

34:54Shannon Sharpe:Yep. That's Deshaun Jackson, D-Jack. I appreciate that. Best of luck. Man, stop back by when you have some time, bro. Ocho, I know we've been talking about this, Ocho. Oh, what happened? The Cat Williams interview is still a viral. Oh, yeah. It's at 27 million views. what did I tell you it was going to be at by the time you come on here Saturday I said 20 I said 20 27 from what I've been able to deduce it's the third most viewed conversation interview whatever you want to call it I call myself a conversationalist I like to have conversations some people say it's an interview 32nd is the second place so I'm really hoping I get Joe Rogan has two.

35:38Shannon Sharpe:Joe Rogan, if I'm not mistaken, has a$57 million. Bill Lazar. Bill, I think, Leslie Lazar. He's a guy that came out about the USA knows about UFOs. And he had a$32 million view episode with Elon Musk. Okay, okay. So, I definitely think we had$27 million with three days. Yeah, so you going to surpass his$32 million. I definitely believe we can get that 32. Yeah, you're going to surpass this 32. So you'll be the second most watched. The 57 was over a four-year. So there's an outside chance people are going to go back. You might catch that too. There's an outside chance. If you're on day three and we at 2027?

36:25Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Well, you might catch that. It's still doing about five to seven million views a day. Yeah, that's the thing. When it comes to somebody like a Cat Williams, who is a comedian, and when you speak, you know us. We love things that are messy at times, and it creates traction. It creates traction, and then the truths or the lies behind it, people can make the assessments on their own and do their own homework. It gets everybody churning. It gets the noise. It gets the going and everybody chirping. Everybody want to watch. And you got everybody named Alma talking about that goddamn interview.

37:11Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, they are. I mean, I have a lot of people that have reached out. People that don't really listen to or subscribe to Club Shea Shea or know anything about that. But I mean, because it was on every news network. It was on ET. People are talking about it. in the basketball locker rooms and NFL and every circle people have talked about it and what's disappointing to me because there are people that that do what you and I do yeah that had so much to say and and it's only because of jealousy because I guarantee you if if Cat was on their podcast and did exactly what he did on my podcast right they would have never said what they're saying oh he let no that was the decision that i had to make in a split second ocho right right and what i always try to do is not talk over the guests they come okay tell your side tell your story tell it without me interrupting and then if there's a point that i think i need to add or i need to you know refra question okay we'll go there but in that situation ocho i've got to make a split second i know i got cards okay i want to start at this place but he said i want to tell you why i came you offer a safe place a safe space right for people to say and to get things okay fine and then he went now i'm teed up to ready to go in the direction that i think because at the end of the day ocho even though he went the direction that he went for 30 minutes right i still had to have structure.

38:49I still had to get the train back on the track. Right. Even though I don't think he was off the track, he wanted to get that off his chest. Right. Now he got that off his chest. Okay. Now let's get to where you come from. How did you come to be? How did you leave Ohio?

39:05Shannon Sharpe:Why did you leave Ohio? How did you end up in Florida as a 13 year old with a Rottweiler puppy in the back of an 18 wheeler? Right. How did that come about? What was the thought process? When did you know this was going to happen? Okay, what made you leave Florida and go to OKC? Oklahoma. But man, it's just everybody got something to say. Man, bro, it's like everybody. But they never said anything. When I let Steve say what he said, when I let said what he said, what he said, when I've let everybody say what they said, nobody said anything. Now all of a sudden, because it goes viral, I guarantee you, Ocho, If this video had done 2.7 million views, nobody would have said a damn thing.

39:46No, not at all. Not at all. Not at all. Because Steve Harvey. Go ahead. Go ahead, Ocho. They just upset that I'm assuming you got the interview. I did. You got the interview. I don't think there's a space or a person out there that I think he would have felt comfortable with where he would have been as open and truthful with. Right. with. He was literally open because when you're talking to you, there's a certain level of comfort. There's a certain aura. There's a certain energy that you have. Obviously, being in locker rooms, being able to talk to people and it provides a certain type of... I don't even know how to explain it.

40:24It's a comfort level that they have that

40:27Shannon Sharpe:they're going to be able to tell their side of this. They're going to be able to tell their story without any judgment from me. There we go. There we go. At the end of the There are very few people like that. Very, very few people like that. Very few people. I'm not here to judge. I've asked you to, I mean, there have been times that people have reached out to me to come on, but most of the time I reach out and I'm asking, you know, if you're free, you know, hey, get back to me. Sometimes I have to go through a manager. Sometimes I have to go through a publicist. Sometimes I deal directly with the individual.

40:57Shannon Sharpe:Doesn't matter. It's okay. Or I'll pass it off to CJ. And then CJ is like, you know, he and I huddle up and says, okay, what day works best for you? These are the times he came in. You know, I'm like, CJ, okay, did he give you a time? What's his time limit? Sometimes they say, Hey, I got as much time as you need. Sometimes they say, I only got an hour. I only got 75 minutes. I only got 90 minutes. I've normally, I say, I need at least, I need at least 75 minutes. That's normally what I go. I said, I normally need at least 75 minutes. CJ, is there anything that they say that we can't ask? when I got when I had Steve Harvey I had no intentions of asking him anything about his wife asking him nothing about his daughters he volunteered that Shannon why didn't you push back and say well Steve you said this about your first wife Steve you did this this and this nobody said a damn thing when when when when when and he even asked me can't even ask well say when When Cedric said, when I said, there were reports that Cat said that there was a joke that he told that you stole from him.

42:08Shannon Sharpe:Ced said, I didn't steal no joke. I said, he said, you know, it don't even sound the same. I said, okay, nobody said, Shannon, you should have pulled out the video and showed him Cat joke and his joke. Nobody said anything. Right. Now, all of a sudden, Cat, well, Hold on. And I said, it was tough hearing some of the things he said about people that I've interviewed and have. I'm not saying we boys, if somebody bucket or burns. Yes, I know Steve. I speak to Steve. I know Quake. I talk to Quake all the time. Right. Yes, I have said number. When they came on, I didn't cut anybody off. When was the time that I cut somebody off?

42:57Now you want me to cut him off. Man, but he going in. Okay? I mean, that's the point of having that space where you can tell your truth. Yes. That's the whole point. And I know a guy that he got so much, he always has something to say. Right. Now, this is the same guy. You know what? I ain't going to even.

43:16Shannon Sharpe:No. Look here. You want to let it go? I'm going to let it go. Because this is what I told you. And I get on Stephen A with this all the time. I say stop giving people your audience's ear. Stop giving it. Your platform bigger than theirs. I like that. Sometimes people, sometimes success, the only success they get to taste is taking a bite out of you. Leave them alone. Leave them alone. I'm doing what I'm doing.

43:49Obviously, 27 million people thought enough like, oh, he's sitting down with Cat? Word of mouth. Maybe they saw a snippet or something. Man, I need to sit down and watch this. It's two hours, 46 minutes, and five seconds. Yeah. When was the last time? A good two hours and 40 minutes. Tell me the last time somebody sat down for a non-sporting event. Two hours, 46 minutes, and five seconds. And watched and listened. Um...

44:25Shannon Sharpe:remember that's why they say linear television is dying with the exception of live events right because people's attention span everybody is very short everybody is getting their info their tech from their from their smartphone they're watching on their phone they're streaming their phone ipads computer whatever two hours 46 minutes and five seconds think about that that's a cowboy game that 27 million people there are some sporting events that don't get watch by 27 million. That's what you're mad about. You're not mad about I didn't cut this man off. You're not mad about that. Oh, those are your boys and you let them talk about your boys.

45:01That's not what y 'all mad about. That's not what you're mad about. Oh, you're not even a journalist. He could have got so much meat off the bone. You're not mad about that. You're mad that 27 million people to the right now. My part, my subscribers on Club Shay Shay jumped up 500 ,000. That's what you're mad about. you mad about now all of a sudden my IG I'm over 3 million on that that's what you mad about the potential man y 'all know what's gonna happen now man somebody might come throw a boatload that's what you mad about but when you was biting the apple I never said anything negative about y 'all I gave you y 'all credit I never criticized anybody because I look the way I look at it Ocho everything I saw my brother do I said I can do it.

45:52You know why? Because he lived in the same house I lived in. He got rained on just like I did. He had to go outside to the woods to go to the bathroom just like I did. So hell, if he went to college, why can't I? If he go to the NFL, why can't I? So if I see you guys do something, you do it. You're damn right I believe I can do it. You want to tell me who has something to say so I can snap real quick? No, you ain't got to snap on him, Ocho. I'd be ready too, man. See, Ocho, just like everybody like i said everybody there said that i don't know why he going to this i'm going to spend because they reached out and said you know what we would love to have you a part of our network yeah yeah i like that i only i can only judge a man through the experience that i've had with said man i can only judge an individual through the experience that i've experienced with said individual how could i how could i judge ocho if i'd never been around ocho man ocho man man, Ocho on that fuck stuff.

46:48That ain't what I, that's not my experience with him. Right. So I'm sorry, that's your experience with him. Ocho, you know what I get asked a lot and I know you get asked this also. Man, what's such and such like? I say, I can only tell you what he's like with me. Yeah. So for me to be able to speak, to tell you what he's going to be like with you, that would be a lot. Yeah. Because I don't know. Right. I can only speak to how he treats me and how he's treated me or how she has treated me. So, but all this notion, y 'all need to stop this. and you know who I'm talking about.

47:22Oh, they know who I'm talking about. Oh, they do? Yes. Hold on, let me look at the chat.

47:32But that's what I... Chat, who are we talking about, chat? Oh, okay, I see it now. I see it now. I see it now. Okay, okay, okay. But that's what it's about. It's about 27. I mean they make it seem like I've never had like Steve Harvey's almost at 10 million you're almost at 6 million DC Youngfly's at 4 million I mean I got not only do the whole episode but I got breakout clips that's done a million views that's done 2 million views that's done 3 million views they make it seem like I was peeling around oh my pod can have 45 ,000 views no I've had episodes I've had episodes that do 300 ,000 downloads.

48:17Yeah. And you wonder why. You wonder why you only have limited success. You think you have a success. But think about how much more success you could have if you got that envy, that jealousy, and that hate out your heart. But y 'all quick. Y 'all write all these little catchy phrases on your little page. And it's you. You write it. All you're doing is writing a memoir to yourself. Come on, man. Come on, Preeta. Hey, look at this. I got this out the mud. I came from the trenches and you got more hate in your heart with all that you got that you've been blessed with so much and all you do is hate on a man that you think better.

48:57How about get better? Create better content. I'm going to tell you this and I'm going to leave it alone, Ocho. Yes, sir. And this for everybody that's out there. You preach it right now. Just because you're first to do something, that don't mean you're the best at it. Listen to me again, chat. Just Just because you're first, that doesn't mean you're the best. Because a lot of times people think, well, I was first. That don't mean you're the best. Come on now. So Roger Bannister was the first man to break the four-minute mile. Is he the best mile of all time? Absolutely not. Nope. I like where you're going.

49:36So if I'm not mistaken, Jim Hines was the best, was the first man to run a sub 10 seconds, 100 meters. Was he the best 100 meters all the time? No. So just because you guys were the first or you were the part of the first to do it, go ahead, Ocho. That don't mean you're the best at it. So I'm sorry, Chad, to get on my soapbox tonight, but sometimes I get frustrated when people, when some people, what they try to do, they smile and, hey, I'm all for you. I'm all about this. I'm all about that. And all the while, y 'all hate me.

50:07Shannon Sharpe:When you're moving like I do, trips don't always come together weeks in advance. That's the reaction a lot of people are having when they first try Kewpie mayo. It's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle. You've probably seen it in the grocery store before. And if you've ever just walked past it, some people would say that's a huge mistake.

52:00Because this mayo is different. Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Kewpie only uses egg yolks, which gives it this rich umami flavor. It's smoother, deeper, and almost buttery. Once people try it, they start putting it on everything. Egg sandwiches, fries, burgers. Some fans even swear by dipping pizza crust in it. And once you notice it, you start seeing it everywhere. Chefs use it. Restaurants use it. People who really care about flavor use it. Never tried it? Grab the bottle with the red cap next time you're at the store. Put it on just about anything. Then you'll understand. Kewpie, the original Japanese mayonnaise.

53:30and the interview that I'm talking about is everybody's talking about it is the Cat Williams. Oh yeah. I've been trying to line this interview up since about the end of 2022. Yes sir. And he's like I don't know when I'm going to be on your side of town but I'll keep that in mind. Wait so you had this brewing? You had this brewing since 2022? I've been trying to set it up. So basically all the 20... I ended up getting this interview that the very tail end of night of 23. So I'm sitting on it.

54:04Shannon Sharpe:I'm like, man. And I'm telling CJ. CJ and I was talking. He's like, what do you think? He's like, it's going to happen? I'm like, I don't know. I said, all I can do is reach out. I can ask. Right. And he hit me back. Let's do it. And I remember telling him. I said, CJ, Cat Williams people hit me up and say they want to do it. He's like, for real? I was like, yeah, for real. I said, whatever we got. So whatever we have planned, I don't like them. I said, let's just clear it out because I don't know what day. It might be a Tuesday. It might be a Wednesday. It might be a Thursday. It might be a Friday.

54:39But clear it out because whenever the guest is available, let's do it. I did Chris Brown's interview at about 8 o 'clock, 9 o 'clock at night at his place. So there's not a time that in which if I'm not working at first take that I'm not available. so if you want to do it at midnight we'll have a team there to shoot that footage at midnight so he comes in so I get there I try to get there a little bit before the guest CJ might have we might have some last minute

55:09Shannon Sharpe:okay CJ okay I kind of got a feeling of kind of how I want to go I've moved some things around from the questions that you came up with and I came up with but I've moved some of the stuff around because I think it just feels better when I was going over this last night it just felt better to go in this sequence. He's like, okay, hey, I trust you. You trust me. Just go with your feel. So I get there. I'm getting mic'd up, and I'm just talking, and he comes in. So he's already on one. And he says, I've been waiting a whole year to say my piece. The right space and platform to say his piece. Yes, yes, yes.

55:51Now, a lot of people have said, oh shannon left so much on the table shannon is not a journalist i've never said i was a journalist right if you listen in my intro i said i normally what i say the person that's coming by for conversation and a drink i'm a conversationalist not an interviewer it's a different space he said you've allowed other people a very safe place that's why we like coming key words safe Safe place. Safe place. I've also said on numerous occasions, if you want 60 minutes, if you want Dateline, if you want 48 hours, I'm not the place for you. Go to those places and get those type of interviews.

56:36Go to Lester Holt. Go to Nora O'Donnell. Go to I'm not Mike Wallace. Rest his soul. I'm not Ed Bradley. Rest his soul. Or Dan Rather or Walter Cronkite. Rest their soul. Tom Brokaw. That's not who I am. So if you want those type of interviews, you need to go to places that have those type of interviews. Right, right, right. Now, the problem is, Cat Williams was my 102nd interview conversation on Club Shay Shay. He was the 102nd. Nobody said anything. Oh, but Shannon, you left this on the bone. I've had Magic Johnson. I've had Steve Harvey. I've had Michael Blackson. I've had Cedric the Entertainer.

57:20I've had a DC young fly. I've had a lot of people. Nobody said anything about pushback and follow up questions until I got cat Williams on. Yeah. And this thing went, took off like wildfire and the people that's commenting is like, you got 200 followers. You can't be a journalist with 200 followers. Right. Because even, even people that don't know the journalists, they got at least four or 5 ,000. Right. You're upset that he said everything that he said. and he said it on my platform. And now it's bringing attention to my platform. Just like I've had Ricky Smiley on. I've had Steve Harvey. You didn't say anything.

57:59I didn't push back about Steve when he said things about when he's married. You didn't say a word. When he spoke about his daughter, you didn't say a word. I asked Cedric about did he steal Cat Williams' joke. You didn't say, Shannon, you didn't follow it up. I've asked Ricky Smiley, volunteered. He said. I didn't ask him. He said. that he was originally supposed to play Money Mike and Cat was supposed to play Santa Claus. He said that. You never said a word about follow-up questions, and I left so much on the bone. It wasn't until this video, which is almost at about 11 million views and less than 48 hours.

58:36Yes. Now, mind you, Ocho, Steve Harvey's done 9 million views. Who else? DC Youngfly, is that 4 million? Ricky Smiley, over 3 million. Magic Johnson over 2 million. I mean, a lot of these videos have gone viral and had viral moments. Nothing is caught fire like this. Right, right, right. This is what's upsetting them because had, first of all, he wasn't gonna go on it because they don't know, he doesn't wanna be, he wants to have a conversation. He said, you've allowed everybody else to come up here and say their piece. Yeah. The hardest thing for me, Ocho, as the interviewer, was the way he started.

59:20My thing was, do I interrupt him and get this thing back on track or do I let him go? See, when you're interviewing somebody like that and with the safe place that you do call it, the fact that it's Cat Williams or a safety entertainer, any of these polarizing iconic figures, you have to let them get their peace and say what they need to say. That's the whole point of you having a platform and him willing to come on your platform to be able to do an interview and tell his truth is you got to let him go yeah you can't steer it you can't steer this one and and so he did he did 30 minutes before i asked anything where you're from how yeah if your dad your mom brothers and sisters but he wanted to get that get that off his chest and people say no no he says the truth doesn't need motivation oh no that's what he said he said the truth doesn't need motivation.

1:00:17He said there's God's way and there's that. And if it's not God, it's the wrong way. So while all you guys said, well, Shannon, you needed a follow-up question with what? I said, I didn't ask no follow-up question when Sid said he didn't steal the joke. That's not for me to decide. You decide. You decide who do you agree with. That's not my decision to make. I told you when I first started this, my very first interview with my brother. I said, my job, I'm going to try to bring you some of the biggest celebs, entertainers, and athletes that I can possibly bring. And I'm going to allow them to have a conversation and maybe tell you something or share something with you, Ocho, that they've never said or they've said it such a long time ago, you don't remember it.

1:01:04But I want that entertainer, that celeb, or that athlete to share some things with you and give you a different glimpse of who they are, he or she. that was it i never said i was a journalist i never professed to be a journalist i'm an entertainer yeah i have entertainers and again if you want hard-hitting questions yeah 60 minutes is the platform from you right dateline 48 hours go to left to hold go to somebody that does that it's you gotta understand those aren't safe places those aren't places where you can get what you want to say off. Right. They dictate everything when you go that route.

1:01:48Ocho, you make a great point. So let me ask you this. You think Cat Williams was going to open up as much as he did on any other platform? Absolutely not. Absolutely not. What's the longest? I mean, when we look at it, what's the longest interview he had done? Cat. Now mind you, I haven't seen anything he posted on his social media page since 2020. That's four years ago. No post.

1:02:15Yeah. Nobody else. I mean, the whole point is it's almost like barbershop talk. Being able to sit down with you. Listen, I sat down with you and we talked. You had to kick me. You had to kick me out. you had to kick me out when I did Club Shea Shea because I was in such a comfortable place yeah you're like we done? yeah I was ready to go now I had you on ain't nobody say well why didn't you ask him about that situation that happened in Miami why didn't you ask him about this ain't nobody said anything you almost said 6 million with Coach Prine well you've been married this many times nobody said a word it wasn't until I got Cat William it wasn't until this thing took off like wildfire it was all across the internet and it is more so about not only the traction but it's what he said and the controversy that is stirred up so now everybody has questions their truths their facts

1:03:17that shit was awesome I enjoyed it I enjoyed it obviously me I know Cedric I know Steve I knew Bernie Mac back when Mac was alive. God damn I got some stories about Kat I'm going to tell you that a lot of people in the chat watching a lot of stuff that you probably didn't even know yourself but we'll get to that later on when we get into it. Look, I'm not saying we the best of friends but I talked to Steve Harvey I got Steve Harvey number in my phone. I got Cedric number in my phone. I got Kevin Hart's number in my phone. yeah earthquake and i we talk the most i can sit look and i'm friendly uh cordial i've been to kevin hart's house been through his house met his wife just saw him the other night at another function showed me his cars had a conversation with him yeah we're friendly yeah earthquake and i i've met earthquake about six seven years ago we've been cool ever since he caught sometimes earthquake or just text me brother i just called to say i love you keep doing your thing shine shine king shine big shine black man stuff like that hey i got this thing i got this uh uh i got i'm at this comedy hey swing through if you get a chance to right so he and i have a different type of relationship than than the other guys but do i talk to steve harvey absolutely have he invited me to his farm in atlanta yes he invited me to i think it's uh dubai he has a golf tournament thanksgiving hey i brought you i want you to come so i'll have a great relationship so it's hard on me yeah yeah yeah i listen i i understand i totally understand where you're coming from but obviously when truth is being told you just the moderator in between giving the individual the space to tell their truth that's it it's no hard feeling towards those that you already know whether you know them personally or you just know them as associates and i really enjoyed it in the fact that you give us a space to be able to tell our truth on your platform it's not a bad thing it's a good thing and there there was no space for us to be able to do that right and the fact that now we at we we do have one and this is going to be a trickle effect if we not only did you have cat williams but it's going to be somebody else after that it's going to be somebody else after that and it's going to continue to have that effect where you know what i have things i need to get off my chest what better what better place to do it you know club shakespeare's platform who's not going to judge you no gonna he's gonna ask the questions he needs to ask and allow you to say what you need to say and that's it it's simple and the thing was and cat asked me he's like well why didn't you ask why didn't you ask ricky this i said cat normally when people are giving you information right that you've never heard or no one else has ever spoken you feel that he was in that situation he's giving you pertinent information i have no reason to believe ricky smiley is lying to me right just like when you say something i When you're telling me this, this, and this.

1:06:16Now, I knew that he was homeless because I talked to Terry Crews. I've known Terry Crews. Terry Crews was on the team with my brother back in 1991. So I know T. Crews, and he was on the movie. He was a fill-in in Training Day. His actual role, if I'm not mistaken, was next Friday. So I have a relationship with T. Crews. and so for me that was the hardest part is to hear things but i said you know what i didn't expect you know what i knew it was a good and i knew oh yeah oh yeah i kind of knew that but i didn't listen now there's cat we have now there's certain people that you can get that's gonna move the needle now there are some people you can get that's gonna move the needle and move it big oh cho this thing is doing about 500 000 views an hour i i knew it i i thought it would i thought we CJ told me it's going to be bigger than Steve Harvey.

1:07:14At the time, Steve Harvey was about 8.8 million. Where was I at? You behind time. You and time are tied. At 5.8 million. Okay, I'm coming back. I'm coming back on Club Chay-Shay. I got some controversy to talk about. Yeah, I'm out-due cat. Fuck this. Unless you show up butt naked, I don't know if you can do that. I don't know if you can beat cat because cats almost had 11 million and we're not even 48 hours in. And so I remember wrapping the interview. Now, mind you, Ocho, I still got 20 to 30 minutes worth of questions left. Right. The interview is two hours, 46 minutes, and five seconds. And we didn't cut anything.

1:07:59Right. And I remember finishing up and I look back. CJ's always sitting behind me. And I remember looking at CJ and he's shaking his head. and he and i'm like what he's like shannon it's gonna break the internet i said you think so he's like shannon he's like shannon yeah so jordan is like jordan is shaking his head he's looking at me like everybody the makeup everybody's looking like right i'm like man okay they say it's gonna is that good okay i'm gonna take oh yeah because when you edit ocho you in it you don't I mean and so bro and so he it we drive

1:08:40Shannon Sharpe:I say CJ we're going to drop it in the new year that's why I start so I say okay I'm going to tease it I'm going to say I'm dropping one on Club Shay Shay I promise you it's good for someone to be better than this and to be bigger than this President Obama is going to have to come on your podcast and says I'm running for a third turn that's the only thing that's from possibly be bigger and he gonna come on mine and say that so that's that's that right yeah when we dropped it we got a hundred and twenty one thousand people watching it live in the chat Ocho so I'm like okay this thing might do a million might do I say it's gonna be and I told I remember calling CJ I said it's gonna probably do 2.5 right Ocho, I wake up this morning.

1:09:33Shannon Sharpe:Uh-huh. We're at 5.2. Come on now. I was like, what the hell? So I'll say, now I got to refigure. I say, okay, it's going to lose some steam. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Ocho, we probably. You got to make it around the block first. You got to make it around the block first. now I'm thinking this thing might do by next Wednesday this thing might do 20 million views yeah most definitely it might do 20 million views there's a lot going on today SSM Shae Shae Media we added an addition under our umbrella we're going to produce and distribute Humble Baddies and a lot of speculation is going on did Unk tell Ocho about this situation I didn't know I was supposed to tell we're running a business here.

1:10:26Shannon Sharpe:And no, I did not tell Ocho. I didn't feel I needed to tell Ocho. We're running a business. And when you run a business, you do what's in the best interest of the business. Ocho? Not really. In the best interest of the business, we're a partnership. You and I, we started NICAP. If we are partners, anything that has to do with something that was a part of my life, which is including her, and she leads my life, that means she's no longer a part of what I have going on. That's including nightcap. So just because you and I, from a relationship, from a football relationship to a business relationship, if she decides to leave me and my life, that means she's gone.

1:11:07So you my dog. I didn't say that. I remember saying that, Ochoa. I remember I had this conversation. You said that. So you're not even standing on business about what you said and how you live based on your morals and the way you operate. Right. I lied a little bit. Ocho, this business, I'm trying to make money. Don't you want to make money? Yeah, I want to make money. But listen, all money ain't good money. All money ain't good money. That's something that you didn't have to do. As a matter of fact, if you were going to do something like that, something like that, you know how I felt about the situation already.

1:11:38She left. She left. So if she decides to leave me, to sign her and not even running by me and let me know something, give me a heads up, give me some type of warning, let me know, hey, listen, I'm thinking about -

1:11:49Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, I signed real enough. her side railing her girls to a contract. I'm letting you know. Here you go with the bullshit. Ocho, I didn't, hold on. Hold on. No, no, no, no. No, you told me when you leave, you done, that's one less expense. So I figured, I was like, well, Ocho don't really care, so let me go ahead and make this happen. Yeah, I'm saying, you got to understand where I'm coming from. It's about principle. You know, you're supposed to be my dog. I mean, you got to play that different. You got to play that different. So all things being equal, how should I have played this out? Boom.

1:12:30Hit my line.

1:12:31Shannon Sharpe:Ring, ring, ring, ring. Ring, ring, ring. Okay, Ocho, check this out. Yeah. You remember back in Atlanta, Rel and I had a conversation. She had a podcast, and she was wondering if I would be interesting in having my company produce it and distribute the podcast. She said she talked to you. She said it was okay. hey, I said, sure, Rel, let's talk, let's reconvene. You and I and Ash had jumped on a call on Monday, which we did, and we discussed it. And we finally got everything. We got them what they needed. We're going to produce the show. We're going to distribute the show. And they're going to shoot it a couple of times a week instead of the one time a week.

1:13:09Shannon Sharpe:They're going to go twice a week. And she was really excited about this. She said, you were excited about this. Now, once we start down an agreement, I gotta be a man of my word I say yes we're going to do this whoa whoa whoa time out time out when you guys had that talk when I was excited about the opportunity for her to join under the umbrella of SheShe Media you know doing her thing listen I'm happy for her but once she decides to leave me when she decides to leave me she leaves us she leaves anything that has to do with nightgap SheShe Media she left you she was still with SheShe Media you.

1:13:47So see, see what I'm talking about? Principle alone, if she leave me, then you should be like, listen, I can't work with you anymore. I had already given her the money. Oh, you did? Yeah. How much was it?

1:14:04I tell you what, I would give whatever the advance was. I give it back to you, but I just don't, I really don't think that's a good look because now, you know, we in the rough patch right now, right? Who is we? Huh? Who is we? Oh, you and her. I thought you were talking about you and I with a rough patch. We good, we good, we good. If I was in front of you, we would have had a tussle today, though. We would have had a tussle. First of all, I'm going to beat hell at you because you're already over$5 ,200 and you try to take more money out of my pocket with Rayo. Matter of fact, the fact, You definitely ain't getting no money now.

1:14:43You definitely gonna have to get in the blood that you ain't running that by me. You ain't running that by me. Okay, so you said I gotta take it in blood? That's the only way you gonna get it. Don't mind if I do. I don't mind if I do. So, hey, Ram! You know, so they can stop trolling. Who? The Ocho Minion.

1:15:08Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Make sure y 'all go subscribe to Humble Baddies podcast. Thank you, ShayShayMedia. Chad, we love y 'all. Thank y 'all for the support. And he is our number one supporter. He was the first one to subscribe to Humble Baddies. Hey, but listen, listen, people in the chat, I was trolling a little bit earlier today. Now listen, this is all business. I understand business. It's all about putting your people on, allowing them to flourish in whatever endeavors that they have. I was a supporter of this, but this does not change things. No, this does not change things. At home, the foundation, the forefront still needs some work.

1:15:53You know, it still needs some work. But I am - And you. Yeah, but anyway, I'm happy for her colleagues. I'm excited for their show. I'm going to be producing and doing the editing. Other than that -

1:16:06Shannon Sharpe:That's what we not gonna allow to do. Now, you're welcome to join in and be a guest, have you a little guest spot on there. We are not going to let you edit. We are not going to let you produce. I'm here to be a supporter. I'm here to be a supporter. And if at any point she wants to reconvene and reconcile our differences, I sit down and we'll talk about it. But that's great. I mean, you have been Rell's biggest supporter because you brought it to us that Rell wanted to be a part of SheShe Media. And when she mentioned it in Atlanta, I was like, let's reconvene on Monday. We actually had this conversation.

1:16:49Shannon Sharpe:You mentioned it to me. Rell had, you know, she had up doing her thing and she wanted to put it with somebody that have the infrastructure that can make the thing be what she believes it can be with her and her partners. And I said, okay, let's talk to Rel. Rel had a conversation with me. I said, well, let's talk to you and I and Ash. Get on the phone on Monday and we'll have a conversation. And we can see if this is something that could work. But Rel, this is a lot of work. I mean, this is not something that you do. If you really wanted to be successful, which you found out, Ocho, this takes a lot of work if you want it to be successful.

1:17:24Shannon Sharpe:Now, if you want to do something as a hobby, it says, okay, I got a little mic, got a camera, and I want to do something 20, 30 minutes a day, that's fine. But if you really want this thing to be successful and to want it to grow, you have to devote a certain amount of time to it. And knowing her background, how she turned her real estate thing into a big deal. She has a show on Netflix that's coming out, I think, in a week or two, Ocho. So I know she's going to work to make it possible. but what I but the thing is but you see Ocho what you get an opportunity to see you get opportunity to see how people want to tear you apart real quick don't they oh yeah you see how they jump you see how they jumped on there so far and so quick to try to rip you and I apart so now you see everybody oh I love nightcap no they don't no they don't and hey guys all y 'all that got that thing or there might be trouble brewing and nightcap and Unc and Ocho we appreciate that pub because there are certain guys out there because y 'all spend a lot of time talking about Shannon Sharp, talking about what Shannon's doing on ESPN, what he's doing here, what Ocho's doing.

1:18:28Shannon Sharpe:We really appreciate that. Now, how y 'all looking? How y 'all looking right now? It's all love. It's all love. It's all love for all our competitors out there. You know how I feel about you. I still love you anyway. There's a big plate, and there's enough for all of us to eat. There's enough for all of us to eat. You need to understand it. And something about before nightcap, Before NICAP, before it ever came about, Shannon Sharp was a friend of mine. Shannon Sharp will always be a friend of mine, you know? I would never allow business and money to get in the way of that. Never. I've never been one to fall out about stuff like that.

1:18:59There was an opportunity that presented itself. Obviously, the missus and I, you know, we're going through some rough times right now, you know? But when it comes to business, when it comes to continue to elevate her and her career and what she has going on all for it, even though we might not be seeing eye to eye right now, you know?

1:19:17Shannon Sharpe:And the thing is, Ocho, before I got here and Shea Shea Media Club, Shea Shea Nightcap took off, how many of those people that have podcasts mentioned Shannon Sharp? Before this thing took off with you and I, Ocho, how many people mentioned Ocho and Shannon Sharp? It seems to me that the only content that they can create is self-made, is you and I. You and I have a disagreement about you coming late. you and I disagree with about the players or something. You disagree. I disagree. Go ahead. I have a question. Can I say something? Yeah. It's for people in the chat. People in the chat. And this is for you and our team collectively.

1:20:00I'm never late, actually. You just started too damn early. That's the problem. I ain't never late.

1:20:09Shannon Sharpe:You just started too damn early. We kind of have a floating time. We kind of want to start between these times. But sometimes Ocho float past that. But this is a great opportunity for real. There are going to be more people that's going to join Shea Shea Media. We got meetings with a lot of other people coming down the pipeline. So in the near future, we're going to add probably one, two, maybe even three. By June, we'll have three more up under the umbrella that we'll produce, we'll distribute. And go ahead, Ocho. I have one more thing. Now, I understand this is business, right? And I'm all for business and I'm all for making money, you know?

1:20:51And sometimes they say, oh, money ain't good money. The hell it is. In this economy? Well, if I could get it, it's got to happen. So, is there anything we can structure in her contract where I can get a certain percentage based on the finder's fee?

1:21:08Shannon Sharpe:Look here. What Real choose to give you out of their cut? That's between you and Real. What we going to do, Rell is going to get her check every month. That's all I got for you. That's between you and Rell. I ain't got nothing to do with that. No. The one thing I don't do is I don't play. Look, I'm not the government. Unless we get something from the agency that says we need to garnish Rell's wages. Right. I ain't touching that. But let's pretend my last name is Sam and my first name is Uncle. So I'm asking you to garnish a small percentage of a finder's fee and whatever she gets monthly and just send it to me.

1:21:52That's okay. Good thing that check ain't going to Sheree Rosado. I ain't messing with real money like that. What did Rell say? A LLC. Rell, come on, Cam. What did you say, Rell? I told him, I said, good thing that check ain't going to Sheree Rosado. So I told him where it's going to. I said a LLC.

1:22:15Shannon Sharpe:REL is an LLC. So in other words, REL is a business. So REL would get all of the money. REL will then be responsible for the taxes on said money. You know, I know how to get around taxes and all that. That's between you and REL, how y 'all get around it. That ain't got nothing to do with my company. I am not going to have them lock my issue up if it were you. Hell nah. that's between you and Rhea but we are excited about having the Humble Baddies podcast up under the Shea Shea Media umbrella we're very excited about Rhea and her team whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa time out now

1:22:58if you're a baddie you can't be humble so we might have to change the name no they're saying they're baddies but they're humble they don't be out there you know yeah I'm a bad B and all that other stuff Y 'all know it. Y 'all see the way we walk. Y 'all see the way we carry ourselves. Y 'all know what it is. This one here, like the way she, the way she talked to me, you know, at some time, I don't think God would like that.

1:23:25I don't know. Especially not, especially not because it looked different, you know, you know, she see me and she view me in a different lens right now. So she got the mouth of Satan sometime.

1:23:36Shannon Sharpe:Look, you understand what you're dealing with. Look, when you deal with a stepper, when you know that she's a looker, that no matter where you go, whether she's with you or she's alone, people are going to look. Men and women, you accept that. And you wouldn't want her if they weren't looking. I'm a stepper too. Exactly. Hold on, man. Let's not forget. Let's not. Man, don't make me come up out of this shirt, man. But when they're in the penthouse, if it costs, the amenities got to be great, right? You got marble. You got hardwood. Okay. Yeah. If you're a penthouse, your accessory piece got to be up to par.

1:24:22You know what they say? What they say? They can tell you how much money a man got based on what he got on his hip.

1:24:31Shannon Sharpe:For sure. Yeah. What? On his hip. On his hip. He ain't got no bones on his hips. You see what I'm talking about? What you say? I'm telling her what I just said, my little phrase, you can tell how much money dude got based on who you got on your hips. She's talking about ain't nothing but bones on that hip. so guys please go subscribe to humble baddies youtube page the link is pinned at the top of the chat right now so again there it is right there you can see congratulations congratulations rail congratulations to the rest of the ladies congratulations ash and um what was what's his name alexis yeah my thought alexis and ash congratulations you know uh i could be let me be a guest let me be a guest because i i got something to get off my chest no ban him all right let's get into the game but again congratulations humble baddies but there's uh their podcast rail uh ash and uh alexis those three have a podcast that's gonna be uh twice a week uh up under the shay shay media brand we'll produce it we'll distribute it but they have, they have creative control over it.
