In short

Falcons vs. Packers recap (Falcons 35-14), focusing on Michael Penix Jr.’s return, Bijan Robinson’s rushing dominance, and criticism of Packers QB Jordan Love and Green Bay’s offensive line. The hosts also discuss Amazon Prime Big Deal Days picks and NFL “No Fun League” fines for celebrations.

Guests (hosts)

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson (former NFL WR; Pro Bowl/All-Pro; known for route-running) and Joe Johnson (former NBA player; seven-time All-Star, All-NBA; “Mr. Clutch”); they co-host with Anthony mentioned in an ad read but not as a guest.

Key claims

Falcons’ momentum shifted after a Penix roughing-the-passer/penalty sequence; once the run game started, play-action opened Drake London and other targets. Packers’ offense was limited (very low rushing) and Love missed routine throws; some interceptions/late throws were blamed on Love’s decision-making and possible injury/issue. Packers’ offensive line couldn’t run or pass block.

Notable examples

Penix 18/25, 256 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT; Bijan 29 carries, 194 yards, 2 TD; London 9 catches, 194 yards. Packers rushing cited as 17 yards (fewest in a century). NFL fined Bengals WRs Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins $89k for the “People’s Elbow” celebration.

3:57Shannon Sharpe:Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and thank you for joining us. As you watch the Atlanta Falcons put a mean demonstration down on the Green Bay Packers. Michael Penix in his first game back was 18-25, 256, a touchdown and an INT. B. John Robinson went ham, 29 carries, a buck 94, two touchdowns. Drake London, nine catches, a buck 94, a long of 68. He was phenomenal. The Falcons run their record to 1-2. They were 0-2. They're 1-2 now. And the Packers are also 1-2. That was a pitiful performance. But let's not talk so much about what they didn't do as opposed to what the Falcons did do. But we'll get into that a little later.

5:44Shannon Sharpe:You'll see it is the best tasting cognac on the market. Please drink responsibly and stay safe. The Falcons stunned the Packers. We probably should have known something considering they had to go to overtime to beat the Jets, and we don't think the Jets are very good. That's what the Packers had to do on Sunday. But you know what? The Falcons came in and took care of business. Michael Penix Jr. gets the Falcons in the win column. Thanks to an outstanding effort, he didn't start the game off. But after that interception, whoo, boy, did he light it up. 18 of 25, 256, one touchdown. Guys, what do you think?

6:17Shannon Sharpe:What do you like about what you saw from Michael Penix Jr.? It seemed like they got a reprieve. They had him third and long. The Packers defender hit him up around the neck. They throw the penalty. Next play, Bijan gets out the door. And from that point on, the Falcons never looked back. But what did you like about what you saw from Michael Penix Jr.? Ocho, you first.

6:40Shannon Sharpe:Turn your mic on. You muted. You muted.

6:47Shannon Sharpe:but yeah I thought the Falcons that reprieve really helped I'm good yep it started off bad he was very shaky I thought he was a little uncomfortable some of the throws were high the throws were really off and obviously I think it was was the second or third down where they got the roughing the passer the quarterback call yep that's when everything changed that momentum shifts a little bit And once B. John Robinson got going, they were not able to stop him. He's very, very good. He's one of the few running backs in the league that can make something out of nothing, even when he stopped, even when you think you got him.

7:25He's coming out the back door and making something happen.

7:30Shannon Sharpe:Joe, what did you like about what you saw from Michael Penix Jr. tonight?

7:36Chad Johnson:Man, obviously he got off to such a slow start. like Uncle Ocho, but, man, once he found rhythm, and you see once that run game gets going, it starts to complement the passing game. Hey, man, I'm happy for Drake London, bro. Yes. You know, when you come into the season, Uncle Ocho, and you sign for big money like that, bro, you want to put on a performance, man. I'm sure he's been waiting for opportunities like this, so it's good to see Pennix back in the lineup, Uncle Ocho playing at a high level. They just needed a win, bro. Yes. They needed a piece at the quarterback position who can move the chains, who can move the ball forward.

8:12Chad Johnson:He done a hell of a job with that tonight. But outside of that pick, Aki Ocho, he looked great. I thought they looked complete as a team. I thought their front four defensively, boy, them boys ain't playing, man. Their front four on their defensive side, I thought they kept them in the game. Yeah.

8:30Shannon Sharpe:I thought Penix, he played well. And once you got the running game going, now I can play action off of that. Look how many times they play action and you see Drake London sitting in holes. And you see the other wide receiver sitting in holes with able to find something. Wide open touchdown to Austin Hooper in the end zone. They had the two-point conversion because they can run the football. Yeah. Now, because now I've got to drop that safety down. And they're taking bad angles. Oh, man, he made a B. John. Man, he shook, what you call him, Zaire Franklin in the hole? Yeah, in the hole. Had him dead to right.

9:10Yeah.

9:11Shannon Sharpe:But no, when you can run the ball, like you said, you almost had a 200-yard rush and a 200-yard receiver. You don't find that very often in the NFL. And normally when you have that in the game, you're probably going to win the game because you're going to control tempo. You're going to control pace. Time of possession is going to be on your side. We're going to see, as I pull up the team stats, That's what the time of possession, the T.O.P., 37.05 to 22.55. So 37 minutes to 23 minutes. When you dominate the time of possession like that, you're going to dominate the game. Yeah. B. John is B. John.

9:49Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Drake London, we know what Drake London can do. If they're going to get consistent quarterback play like this here from Penix, okay, the Falcons might be in business. can they the question is do we believe they're going to get consistent quarterback play i don't think they're going to go in and back out you know tour is healthy he's coming back in there i think they're going to ride pennix as far as they can take him as long as that knee can hold up i think you got to stick with him you got to find out he's your guy because the last thing you want to do have some uncertainty and guess what in the draft this draft is supposed to be heavy with quarterbacks dante moore and trinidad chambliss and you got arch manning you got a couple of other guys that's going to be potential first round picks.

10:30Shannon Sharpe:The last thing I need to do is be uncertain at that position with all these quarterbacks coming out and then make a decision and I go take another quarterback. So I think they're going to ride. I think they're going to ride Penix for a minute.

10:41Chad Johnson:Yeah.

10:42Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

10:42Chad Johnson:I think, I think, I think, I think they're going to ride them to Ocho Paul.

10:49Chad Johnson:I think if that offense, Ocho can stay high power like that and keep the other team's offense off the field, it's going to be hard for teams to catch rhythm, especially high power teams offensively. You know it. If you can contain the ball more than another team, hey bro, you keep their offense off the field, it keeps them out of rhythm. And I thought that's kind of what happened tonight too. I think also I want to say B. John Robinson is a huge safety net regardless of who's playing quarterback. Whether it's Tua or whether it's Penning Jr. If he can do what he wants to do and they can stack the box, put 10 in the box to try and stop him and he still be able to make something happen when they do that, it really doesn't matter who's playing quarterback.

11:38Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, it does. You saw B. John Robinson do that again with Cooper Rush back there. How'd he look?

11:50Shannon Sharpe:Sometimes, don't you? You know, we see this. where Barry Sanders go, nah, but sometimes, man, the quarterback can be so bad, that running back is not going to do that because I'm not going to let you do it. And plus, when you throw an interception, return for a touchdown, throw another interception, you fumble the football, and then the backup comes in there, he throws a pick six, it's hard to overcome that. Now, your own offense can't get a rhythm, Joe. You talk about getting a rhythm and keeping everybody else off rhythm from the opposing team, but hell, I can't get a rhythm because guess what?

12:20Shannon Sharpe:My quarterback turning the ball over, he keeping me on the sideline. Hell, I can't catch rhythm either. Right. On the flip side. I don't know what's going on with Jordan Love's arm. Ocho, did you see all those float passes he throwing on our balls? Hey, a lot of balls, they sailed. A lot of balls sailed on him. I'm not sure why. I'm not sure what the issue is. I don't know if he's injured or something's going on. But a quarterback of his caliber, he missed some throws that are routine. Yes. Routine throws for a tier one quarterback like him. It was rough. It was rough tonight. Matt LaFleur, you scored a touchdown.

13:02Shannon Sharpe:You remind me of Sean Payton called that bull job in the championship game. You scored a touchdown on the half roll. Guess what you come back and run on fourth down? The same exact play. And guess what they was waiting on? That bull job play? Yeah. Quarterbacks. Obviously, we're talking about the Packers game. But quarterback, if it's on fourth down, give your guy a chance to make a play. Don't just throw the ball out of the down bounds. If he intercepted, it's intercepted. At least give your guy an opportunity to make a play on the ball. Ocho, far too many times. Guys will just heave the ball out of the end zone because they don't want that INT.

13:40Shannon Sharpe:Bro, it's fourth down. If you don't get it, it's going to change possession anyway. Don't nobody care how it changed possession, that it did change possessions. I don't get that with guys. Guys get so caught up in numbers, and I get it. I get it. I get it to a certain degree, but you're in love, bro. You're under contract for another four or five years. What are you worried about if you throw an interception? It just irks me when I see guys do it because I wonder what's going on in the head. Like it's on fourth down, Ojo, and we're on the goal line, and the guy throw the ball at the back of the damn end zone.

14:17Shannon Sharpe:What? So what? You don't get no points for that? No. Give the guy an opportunity to make a damn play on the ball. But I thought Jordan Love looked bad today. Look, people are going to look at his stats on Joe and talk about, oh, man, 312? He had two receivers there, but one receiver had 100. The other had like 96, 97. Right. He was bad. He was bad. He had Golden Tate on the goal ball. Golden Tate. Golden Tate. I forget the name. Golden. Last name Golden, not Golden Tate. Matthew. Matthew. Matthew Golden. He got the hit on the ball over there. It was a rough night. And the touchdown, Ocho, you see how if that's A.J.

14:55Shannon Sharpe:Terrell, he picking that because Golden had it reach back like this here and catch it. Well, he looked. And that's not, look, and I'm going to give the Falcons defense credit, but some of those throws that he was throwing to the sideline, he throwing the out ball. and Watson has to reach back and Henderson is coming through and raking the ball. Yeah, you leaving it inside, you got to throw the out ball out here. Hey, he lucky he didn't go the other way. He very lucky. And then he guess what? He come back and throw it the other side and he's late again. The out ball, you can't be late on out balls.

15:37Got to be early. when that third foot hit in that drop that ball got to be coming out

15:44Shannon Sharpe:it's got to be gone it's got to be gone and you want him to catch the ball out here like this Ocho so if he needs to dip his shoulder he can get a first down but if you throw him behind it it's either going to get raked or it's getting picked but I thought Jordan Love played bad tonight I thought he played bad tonight Michael Penning Jr. played unbelievable and I want to give the Falcons but some of the throws were not caused by the Falcons defenders. Some of that was just on him. And maybe he's seeing things in his head because I thought they got after him pretty good. Packers offensive line, you got to be able to do one.

16:21Shannon Sharpe:You got to be able to run block good or pass block. You can't be crap at both. At both of them? They're terrible. How many rush yards did they have? Hold on.

16:33Shannon Sharpe:They had 17 yards rushing. What am I supposed to do with 17 yards? They had nine rushing attempts. What am I supposed to do with that? You talking about for Green Bay? Huh?

16:48Chad Johnson:You say something, Joe? Man, my internet tripping, fella. I ain't gonna... Am I glitching, bro? It seem like I'm tripping over here. Nah.

16:59Chad Johnson:Damn.

17:01Shannon Sharpe:Man, I thought it was that, you know, I thought it was that Rastafadia.

17:10Chad Johnson:No, man, I can't even say nothing, man. Yeah, I was going to say something about the run game. Y 'all think the lack of, you know, the run game is why Jordan loves struggling, bro.

17:20Shannon Sharpe:You know what, though? When I look at it like this here, Ocho, and let me know what y 'all think, guys. When you paying a quarterback 50, 60, 55, 56, 57, 58, when you pay the top-tier quarterbacks, let's just say the top 12 to 15 quarterbacks, when the running game's struggling, they're supposed to be able to put your team on their shoulders and carry you. That's why we pay you the big bucks. What you think we pay? I ain't pay. Man, you think I'm paying you that kind of – if B. John Robinson, you're a running back, I don't know if I can get you – I can't get you 60 million. You got to be – you got to be – I understand.

17:56Shannon Sharpe:Every time the running game is not going to be up here. But when the running game is struggling, one of the other things, like if my passing game is struggling, I need to be able to give to Bichon and Bichon do what he does. Jameer Gibbs do what he does. But if I'm struggling in the running game, bro, I need Jordan Love to do better than this. They're empty calories. That ain't nothing but a bunch of ho-hos and ding-dongs and cupcakes. Those are empty calories. That 328 that he had tonight has absolutely no nutritional value. Yeah, maybe it works for your fantasy who've ever got Jordan love congratulations But those are empty empty calorie stats what he put up there because when the game matter he did squat He did a big squad douche.

18:43Yeah, hey hey, I'm and Joe is the way we view him We view him as one of those 55 60 million dollar quarterbacks. Absolutely. He's paid. He's paid to do that If the running game isn't working, we need you be able to throw us to a victory We need to be able to throw consistently. Some of those throws at night, Uncle Joe, all the top tier one quarterbacks, they make some of those throws. Absolutely. I agree. They give their players a chance to make a play on the ball. Something has to be wrong. I don't know if Jordan Love is hurt or not, but I guarantee you something is going on because I've never seen – we see everybody misses throws.

19:19Everybody misses throws, but not as consistently as he missed them tonight in this game. It didn't make sense. It didn't make any sense.

19:27Chad Johnson:Yeah. B.

19:28Shannon Sharpe:John had a buck 94. Brian Robinson Jr. Damn, they might be cousins or something. B. John Robinson, Brian Robinson Jr. He had 50 yards and a touchdown. Drake London said, hey, I told y 'all, y 'all got people out here thinking they trying to get rid of me in fantasy. Y 'all got people thinking I'm some sauce because I just got this big contract. Y 'all see, y 'all give me this rock. I can do what I do. I just need somebody to get me to rock I ain't never had a problem getting open I'm glad they got it to him too because if you watch it in body language when it was coming to us online you saw it earlier they put that camera on him I know that look I know that look he would finish I don't think he would probably snap but you could just tell he was getting frustrated he was getting close

20:22Chad Johnson:so tell me do y 'all think that you know, Penix, you know, he can unlock the Falcons, Uncle Ocho, or is it simply going to take a heroic effort from B. John Robinson night in and night out for them to be able to compete? I mean, hell, they got a win. At the end of the day, a win is a win. I'm sure a lot of these Falcons fans, they're happy. You're on the winning side. So there is hope. There is some promise. Let's hope Penix can keep this up, bro, because, hey, man, this city's starving for a pretty good

20:52Shannon Sharpe:Well, that's why I pay Bijan the big bucks, because he's a guy that can carry me. He can be my bell cow, because I can hand it to him, I can throw it to him. I can do a lot of different things, and he can make people miss. He's one of the few guys that can make something out of nothing. There are not a whole lot of guys that can turn a two-yard loss into a 10-yard game. He can take a two-yard loss and turn it into a 50-yard spectacular. He has that accountability. His ability to start and stop and look at it with him. He had the ball here. He goes all the way up and er and er in the middle of the field.

21:31Shannon Sharpe:And don't lose no momentum. Normally, guys, Ocho, you got to break down to do all that. He running full. Stop him. No. And guys just take off again. He back to full speed again. Yeah. And not only is he good, Uncle Joe, and being able to make people miss in small areas, he's really good at setting up his blocks too. He's really good at setting up his blocks, holding that line just enough, just so there's enough contact and bouncing off of that. He reads the defense, he reads the defenders, excuse me, really, really well and plays off his blocks. And once he hits that cut, man, he's nice with it.

22:12Very nice with it. Yeah.

22:15Shannon Sharpe:He's patient. He's fast, but he's never in a hurry. Right. But look at that long run that he had. He got it. He got to the sideline, and now all of a sudden they hand it to him. He's on the right side. They got him dead to right. Well, they thought they had him dead to right. He's one of the few guys. There's not a whole lot of guys in the league that's getting out of that what they're right there, what he got out of.

22:36Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. Now he's special now. Man. He's special. Yeah, if he can keep this up.

22:45Shannon Sharpe:I'm not worried about him. I'm worried about can Penix keep this up? The offensive line, I thought the offensive line did a good job of protecting Penix. Yeah. He just, I mean, he stared the guy down. Bro, you can't stare the guy down in the middle of the field. That's going to be a pick. The same thing Jordan Love did at the end of the game. You see that guy picked it. I'm going to the house on that one. I ain't going to lie to you, Ocho. They done knocked the quarterback ass on the ground. Ain't nothing but green guys, Ocho. I'm saying, Coach, I'm sorry. I may have to hold it like this here.

23:14Shannon Sharpe:But I'm going to the house. Hold on, hold on. That's a touchdown. That's disrespectful. That's disrespectful at the end. They still throwing it. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, I'm going to the house. It's like, team, y 'all get mad at me. Okay, team keep trying to score. Y 'all keep trying to score. Now, all of a sudden, y 'all miss a shot. I go down there and dunk it. Now, y 'all mad. Don't do that. Hey, that's what I'm doing. No, y 'all was trying to score. Yeah. I just returned it to favor. I thought that's what we doing. I thought this was basketball. You score, I score. I ain't normal.

23:44Shannon Sharpe:Just you score, you score, you score. I'm going to eyes on that one, Joe.

23:50Chad Johnson:Yeah. All right, they be ready to fight after that one. Don't worry about it. They be ready to fight. Well, you have to fight in the end zone.

23:56Shannon Sharpe:That's why I'm going to be at, Ocho. I won't be hard to fight. I'll be in the end zone. Do it all. As a matter of fact, I might Lambo leap. Yeah. I'm going to Atlanta plunge. hey y 'all think y 'all think y 'all might be jumping the gun a little bit too was the fans keep making a decision on who's the starting quarterback oh penance is the guy i'm i'm just are you don't think we're overreacting a little bit just because it's one game mind you they were 0-2 they were 0-2 we didn't and guess what ocho they didn't look like this they didn't score 20 think about they just scored three points on sunday yeah and remember how they They only scored 13 the week before that.

24:39Shannon Sharpe:So they doubled up their point in one game. They doubled up their point total. And look like they look vastly different than what we have seen them in the previous two weeks. Look, it's one game. And I don't want to jump the gun. As Ochoa said, I don't want to put the horse in front of the cart where that's the way he's supposed to be. But anyway, that's where the horse, the horse supposed to go unless he's riding in the car. But anyway, yeah. When I look at it, Ocho, I just want to give Penix credit. He did what he was supposed to do. It was a short week for everybody else except him because he hadn't played yet.

25:19Shannon Sharpe:Right. So this was a regular week for him. Yeah. Now, guess what? I get an opportunity. He's probably going to be a little sore. he did take a few hits, but he'd probably be a little sore. But guess what? I don't have to play Sunday. I got a long time. I got Friday, Saturday, Sunday. They probably get Friday, Saturday, Sunday off. See you all Monday. Off Tuesday, we back at it on Wednesday. That's what I'm thinking. But I think we got to give the Falcons credit considering what we have seen out of the Falcons the previous two-week, Coach O. Ain't nobody seen this coming. Yeah. Yeah.

25:55Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, and the fact that they would play on the road in Green Bay. Come on, man. Y 'all know that's a hostile environment. I'm sure both of y 'all done probably played. Yeah, I have. Yeah, come on, man.

26:05Shannon Sharpe:I think I give us some credit. Plus, Joe, you know what it is? I think.

26:13Shannon Sharpe:Green Bay in trouble.

26:17Shannon Sharpe:You think so? You can't run the football. they're missing Josh Jacobs and they're going to have to let that run its course through the judicial system he's right now on the commissioner's exempt list once he comes off that he's getting suspended I think everybody in agreeance he's going to get suspended now we don't know how many games six, eight but he's going to be suspended where they're going to get the rush yards from hey hey that would take some of the pressure off Joy Love. Michael Parsons, your best defender, he's not there. That couldn't really generate no pressure. But again, you got to think about it now.

27:03We're paying you that kind of money. We're expecting you to rise to the occasion in these adverse situations. We're paying you that kind of money. You know what? we don't have a running game right now we putting the ball in your hands we're putting the ball in your hands because we believe you can make these plays there's really no excuse

27:31Shannon Sharpe:no he didn't play he didn't play well tonight there's no ifs and a buts there's no way around it there's no way we can dress it up and we can't make it seem like well he was getting pressure half the league get pressure I mean, everybody ain't got no great offensive line like that. No. That's fortified and just going to hold people out. But they find a way. He's going to have to find a way to deliver. He didn't play well tonight. He looked good coming to the game. Reported that jacket called like 200 bands. You see that, Joe? 200 what? It called 200. That blue leather? Yeah. Hey, let's look it up.

28:12Chad Johnson:Let's look it up. Damn, 200 bands for a jacket? That diamond's on it. Warning. The following song has been rated dangerously catchy and may not be suitable for grown-ups. 32:03Shannon Sharpe:Swarovski crystal. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't see Mr. Love making an impulsive purchase like that, especially for that amount of money. Oh, he got it. Oh, yeah, he definitely got it, but I just don't, you know. Yeah, he says, Jordan Love sports a$200 ,000 jacket for the home opener walk-in tunnel fit. That's what's being reported. I don't know. Hell, I didn't make the jacket. I don't know anything about the jacket. Right. Where the chat at? Where the chat know how to take a picture? Somebody get that picture. Right there, right there, Ocho. Yeah, I see it. That thing nice, Nat. that thing nice dude um i forgot how they do it joe you know you can take a picture

32:38Chad Johnson:and you can you can match you can hang on match it hold on hold on hold on that john hard though i ain't gonna lie to you that thing baby i know you're watching hey baby uh get the picture uh text me text me how much that jacket was hey that's your hard chat but for 200 bands yeah yeah i think they might i think they might have thrown them back there 200 bands i'm wearing it every day

33:04Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to have it on the sideline. Because, you know, back in the day, Joe, when I first got to the league, they would let you wear your own clothes on the sideline. You didn't have to wear team gear. Team issue gear? Yeah, you didn't have to do that. Now they got you in Bronco gear with a Bronco gray shirt, a big old jacket, a puffer jacket or something like that. You can't wear your own stuff on the sideline. But, no, I can't get off. I can't get off. Not for no jacket.

33:29Chad Johnson:Yeah, nah. Yeah, nah, they ain't going to let y 'all wear what y 'all want to wear. I mean, they know how y 'all wanna come over there and look at it. Well, they try to sell.

33:37Shannon Sharpe:There's a reason why people use athletes and celebs and entertainers to sell their gear. Because when other people see them in it, what they want? They want it. They want it. They see you in those big bomber jackets. They see you in those scullies. They see you in that stuff. What? Pants gonna go, I get it. If you wearin' your stuff, Ocho and Joe, I don't want them to buy that. I want them to buy this. Yeah. yeah there it is right there ocho

34:07Shannon Sharpe:i can see ocho yeah that's ocho all day that's all day twice on sunday i can see it too i see it hold on hold on hold on oh my little info just came in oh hey what he they was right boy boy that thing was 200 000 boy two yeah I wonder what brand is that? Listen, I don't even know why. But who makes something like that? Uncle Joe, what you think?

34:38Chad Johnson:There's got to be. Public school?

34:44Okay. Ah, so that's why it costs like that. K-Duelers probably, okay. Put the diamonds on it, yeah. Yeah, that's a nice little collab. Hey, you know, K Jewelers, every kiss begins with K. Yeah. Yeah. Well, if you're waiting on a diamond, you're going to do more than kiss.

35:03Chad Johnson:Yeah. You can keep it. If it begins with K. And you got to think about this too, Uncle Joe. The fact that he wore this a night because of joy and love, and they knowing that he would get his attention wearing that jacket, you know he ain't have to pay for that.

35:20Shannon Sharpe:I don't know who that paid for, but Ocho, the general rule, you know, rule of thumb is that I want to get something that I think the masses can buy. Right. That like NFL gear, even though it's high, a lot of people can afford$150. Right. Man, how many people can afford to, first of all, there are people that can afford it, but how many people are going to buy something$200 for a jacket? Hey. If I, I mean, I, I win a lottery, you know, I might splurge a little something, you know, about, Hey, we're going to get matching ones. Hey, what color you want, Joe? You want black? Gotcha. Oh, Joe, what color you want?

35:53Shannon Sharpe:You want that blue? Got ya. Right, right, right. Ooh, I don't know, Joe, they make one your size. Me? Your size might have to be three. Man, them long ass arms you got? Yeah, man, give me one custom made. Give me one custom made. That's my point. That's why it's gonna cost more. That jacket on you gonna look like a maitre d'. Moe Foe gonna think you waiting tables, your jacket.

36:17Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I win a lottery. I go, hey, Ocho, what color you want? You want that blue one? Matter of fact, you know what? I want orange. You want orange? Okay. Oh, Joe, I want orange. What color do you want? You want the red? I want red.

36:28Chad Johnson:I want mine red. I want mine red. Hey, Joe. Yeah. I like that. Hey, Joe. You like that? Get that thing, Joe. That in red? Yeah, I see you. I heat with that red, Joe. Why we got to be banging all the time? I mean, because you just said red, so I see where you going. I see you. Hey, I see you, Donald. I see you. But that don't mean we banging over there. I can't like red. I like red. No, no, Joe. It's okay. Hey, listen, you from Little Rock, Arkansas. I know what you're doing. You hear me? I know what you're doing. Hey, on dead homies, you know, on the set. You hear me?

37:00Shannon Sharpe:I mean, but yeah. But I saw him talking about it. I was like, well, damn, okay, that's a nice jacket. I was like, man, you know, me, I think I said, you know, that's a nice little 20 piece. That's what I was thinking, a little 20 piece. Man, they said 200. I heard up and clicked. I heard up and clicked up off that. I ain't, hey, some things, you know, like when they start talking about the price, I go ahead and get off it. I ain't interested no more. Right. Because you're talking about things I know I'm not going to get. Why am I on this page? Why am I looking at this? I'm not going to buy that.

37:33Shannon Sharpe:You know, something like$1 ,000, I look at it and see if they got it in different colors, if they got a color I like or something like that. But when you get to stuff like that, but I ain't watching it. Joe, remember I sent you, Ocho, and I sent Joe. That private plane, the guy said he had somebody ridden the private plane from L.A. to Singapore. For$786 ,000? What? Yeah. Yeah, man. That was real? Yeah. That's what I'm saying. I ain't doing it. Drake London had a nice game. Nine for a buck, 94. Drake London finished with a career-high 194 receiving yards, making his third career primetime game in which he's had 150-plus receiving yards.

38:09That ties Julio Jones' team record in franchise history. Damn. Damn.

38:18Shannon Sharpe:Oh, oh, Drake. Hey, y 'all think Matt LaFleur on the hot seat? Whoa, whoa, whoa, already?

38:30And that's tough because being on the hot seat, most of the time, you know, players get coaches fired, huh? So what's that to say about the players that you do have? Yeah. And you have one of the better quarterbacks in the league. He's just not playing as of that just yet. And he shouldn't be having any problems. Jordan Love should be having a season similar to that of Lamar Jackson, similar to that of Josh Allen. Always having a chance. Always having something positive go right no matter what because I'll be listening. You got the ball in your hands the most out of anybody else offensively. We need you to get it done because we pay you to be able to do so.

39:15Shannon Sharpe:Drake Lundin going to be good. He's like, yeah, I'm almost to 1 ,000 now. Drake London has more receiving yards than Justin Jefferson. Hell, he got more receiving yards. Hell, he might have more than Chase too after this. Hey, you heard Chase today say, man, why JSN don't be getting the coverage I be getting kicked my way? I used to make the same thing, Ocho. I'm like, man, they're letting all the other tight ends just go up and down the field, and y 'all doubling me and all this kind of foolishness. I talked to Chase too when I did the podcast the other day. I say, listen, don't even trip. Don't even trip.

39:49It's week two. Zach Taylor's not even in his creative bag and moving you around. He ain't even moving you around like that yet, man. He ain't conditioning no splits. He ain't putting you in motion. Remember how we see JSN coming out the backfield?

40:03Shannon Sharpe:Yep. They got that package with Chase coming out the backfield? They ain't did none of that yet. Now, you don't want to throw everything in the kitchen sink at him. So you look at the numbers right now. I think some of the same culprits who always lead or at the top of the leaderboard in receiving yards, some of the big boys that are not in it right now. Chase, he might be, what, maybe 10, 11, 12, something like that. But the cream always rides to the top as the season continues to go along. Right. I think the thing is, just JSM, man, every game thus far, he's had a big run. He had the 45-yarder.

40:40Shannon Sharpe:Then he had the 80-something yarder. And you know, once you get that one big one, oh, Joe, your mind shift. You're like, boy, hey, I'm due for it. Because you got 80 yards on one catch? Man, I get me another catch or two. That's a hundred. Now you start thinking, Joe, now it's just like you have a big first quarter, Joe. You get 20 in the first. Man, you're like, shh, boy, this is a 50-piece all over it.

41:05Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the rhythm. and like football, huh? Like if you catch one early, everything probably starts to get a little easy for you, don't it?

41:16Shannon Sharpe:All I'm trying to do is say, hey, just catch everything. Because now I already know I got eight. I just, I really ain't trying to do anything extra because I already got this one. Now they just add up. Now you got 82. Now you got one for 11. You got one for seven. Now you got another for 20. You look up before you know, you're like, damn. I got seven for a buck, 74? Hey, you think about it too, Unc? He can go on a two-game stretch and go a plum fool. Hey, Joe, I had a stretch one time, just two games, Joe. I had one game for 260. I came back the following week and had 190. Yeah. So that's almost 500 right there.

41:56Almost 500 right there. Out of the gate.

41:59Shannon Sharpe:So you already said, well, damn, I'm always halfway to 1 ,000 in two games. That's crazy. That's exactly how you look at it. That's exactly how you look at it. The Packers are 1-2 rushing yards tonight. Bijan, 194. Brian Robinson, Jr., 50. The Packers, 17 yards. The Packers' fewest rushing yards in a game this century.

42:24Chad Johnson:Mm-hmm. Mm. Hold on. We got to get the Falcons some credit, though, defensively now. Hey, them boys were getting to us. They were playing. Hey, CJ Henderson, is that the same CJ Henderson that was at the Jaguars? The first round pick that was with, I think he was with the Jags, Ocho. Went to Florida, right?

42:41Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, he was playing really well. He played the ball today, yeah. Yeah, he was playing really well.

42:47Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey, hey, when you're on that defensive front, boy, you got to have some Mr. Miyagi in you, huh? Some wax off, wax off. You got to have everything. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Them boys. Hey, your handwork got to be on point, Joe. Them boys ain't playing, boy. You talking about some hand fighting and wrestling? Hey, man, you got to have technique, boy. Yeah, absolutely.

43:08Shannon Sharpe:Because the thing is, you got to play on edges. You don't want the guy to square you up. Ocho, he's just only 27 years of age. Wait, that's it? That's it. Okay. But you know he started his career in Jacksonville. Yeah, I remember. Yeah, I remember that. Then he went to Carolina.

43:34Now he's an ATL.

43:38Shannon Sharpe:But the Falcons get a big victory tonight. 35-14 over the Packers. You know, the Packers thought they were going to win. You see how they brought their team up? They brought the 60th anniversary Super Bowl team. They brought the 96 TAA. Like, yeah, we're going to go and get this. We're going to get y 'all out of the way. First of all, you try to get it out of the way because the older guys, man, they don't do that cold too well. So you don't want them guys, you know, saying, You don't want them guys trying to go out there. It's 30 degrees, 20 degrees. So, you know, we're going to get it out of the way.

44:06Shannon Sharpe:We got the Falcons on the schedule. This will be a great game. Get a win. Let the old time see a win. Falcons see it. Mm-mm.

44:14Chad Johnson:Hey, it's like somebody booking you for their homecoming. They tried to book the Falcons for their homecoming. Yeah. That's exactly how they do it. All right, guys.

44:23Shannon Sharpe:Time for the next segment presented by Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, where me, Ocho, and Joe took our picks for this week's matchup. 47:14Chad Johnson:yeah, look 12, man. We get you a little 12, man. I ain't gonna lie. I'm a little salty about that TV, man. I ain't gonna lie to you, boy. I just, you know, I don't know. Oh, Joe, all you had to do was stick with your pick.

47:26Shannon Sharpe:You had the Falcons. Joe say, you gonna take the Falcons? You go like, nah, AJ Terrell out. They ain't gonna win. If you just stuck with the Falcons, you could've picked your TV up. You know what's funny? You know what's funny? Is the fact that on the show and me not thinking, right? I should've done it. I should have went with my right mind. So on the show, I picked the Packers to win. And then Dez Bryant asked on Twitter, who's going to win the game? I picked the Falcons right away. I picked the Falcons right away. I was just thinking about just the NFL in general, how things go. Even though the Falcons were 0-2 and the Packers playing at home, I'm like, you know what, for some reason, I don't know why the Falcons are going to win.

48:02And it's like my last tweet that's up right now, Joe. I said the Falcons real quick. I don't know why.

48:08Shannon Sharpe:Well. Damn. I'm glad you didn't because you might have wanted to pick you a 75-inch TV. But right now, I got the 75-inch TV with the sound bar. Thank you to Prime Big Deal Days for sponsoring this segment. And don't forget to shop new deals every day on Prime Big Deal Days starting October 6th and 7th. I'm going to take sweet steaks. Hey, you know what? Matter of fact, next week, I'm going to get me an 85-inch TV because it resonates with me a little bit more than 75. But it got to fit in the budget. it got to fit within the budget oh we so what was the budget we got worried about that joe i set the budget your budget is 250 if you win damn 250 why we're getting with 250.

49:23Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey, hey, look too big. I want one of them little thin razor joints. Yeah, that what I got. That what I got. Little 75 in, little 75, you know. Hey, Joe, what that is? Well, you gotta let us know. Hold on, Ocho, he gotta let us know the budget before the game, before we start picking. Hold on, Joe, you talking about stuff I ain't even heard of. What you talking about, a Razor TV, what?

49:43Shannon Sharpe:That little thing, the little theme, the theme ones. That something new? Not that new, Ocho. Yeah. Hey, y 'all boys be hip, y 'all hip to all the new, let me Google this, man.

49:55Chad Johnson:Man just got a whole game room done over here. Come on.

49:58Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, he tried to get, now see, now he want TV. He already got them hacker monitors. He got like 15 monitors in there. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, who make the Razor TV, Joe? Nobody, cause they didn't tell their sponsors we ain't mentioning no names. Okay, my bad, my bad, my bad.

50:15Chad Johnson:Hello. Hey, Chad, you see you can never be satisfied. Man got a whole game room over there. He still ain't satisfied. He still wants something else. Nah, Joe, I'm satisfied. Not only am I satisfied, I'm content, Joe. But I just like, I like technology, Joe. And the fact that you tell him about that stuff that I don't have in here, I might want to upgrade the TV.

50:32Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to say I'm going to win two more times and I'm going to save up and get that 115 inch. Goddamn, your house that big for 115 inch? Hey, where you stay, huh? Hey, I might put it in my yard.

50:53Shannon Sharpe:Hey, how much that costs, you think? Hey, when are we going to know the budget, man, before we start picking again? I'll let y 'all know. Y 'all not gonna win, so the budget is really not that important to y 'all.

51:04Chad Johnson:Oh, man. Come on, man. Ocho, don't let that man swim. I'm Googling 115-inch TV.

51:11Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you can get a vacuum cleaner. Oh, is it a light? Man, come on, man. What are we doing with a vacuum cleaner? Hold on, Joe. Hold on. Now, if it's a Dyson, we got a deal. Yeah. If it's a Dyson, we got a deal. I'll take that. You get whatever you want. It's a vacuum cleaner.

51:25Chad Johnson:But I got something for you. I already got one there. I already got one of them. I don't need no other vacuum cleaner.

51:31Shannon Sharpe:I don't know what to tell you, Joe. Oh, my goodness, huh? Yeah. Hey, boy, that 115, boy, you see how much that costs? I see how much it costs. Yeah, that's out of the budget. The NFL is back. Ocho and Joe to be in the no fun league. The league fined the Bengals wide receivers, Jamar Chase and T. Higgins, over$89 ,000 for doing the Dwayne Rock Johnson, the people's elbow celebration for the Texans. Here's Chase on the find. 55:40Chad Johnson:What do you guys do as players? Because it's clearly something that seems like it's out of your hands, but you still want to have fun. So, like, how are you balancing that? I think this is where the superstars have to get in with the NFLPA and fight for our money. Because if he's getting fined for doing a drinking gesture, a juice gesture, then, I mean, I'm getting fined for an elbow. doing the first down thing. I mean, I can't really do much about it. I mean, we can complain. I don't even think we can tweet about it because we get fined for tweeting about it. So like, it's really like players got to keep their mouth shut and deal with it.

56:18No, you don't. Keep getting fined.

56:22Shannon Sharpe:Do it again. And do it again. 89 ,500, that's a steep note. That 5 ,500. I mean, now the 5, it seems like the 5 for celebration, Ocho, they start off at 15 ,000. I ain't tripping. I ain't tripping. If I were playing today, I ain't tripping. The money they making? I ain't tripping. Listen, listen, when we played in our day, the fines were based off the income that we were making. Based on the money that they're making now, inflation. So the fines have increased. But if I was Chase, if I was T. Higgins, if I was Kyle, you check. Huh? I'd do it again. I'd do it again. What are we talking about? You ain't, you only taking my money because you think that's the only way to control me.

57:05but I'm going to show you. Hello. I'm going to do what I want to do because you ain't finna control me, twin. Hey, there's plenty more where they came from.

57:14Chad Johnson:Well, who you talking to, Joe? Because this ain't the only avenue of income I got coming in just because I'm playing this game.

57:23Shannon Sharpe:It's that the NFL also fired a 49ers fullback, Kyle Juszczyk,$14 ,926 for imitating Chug and a beer. Juszczyk goes by the nickname Juice, said the celebration was drinking juice, not beer. Ocho, you're the king of getting fired. Yeah. But hold on, man. Me doing too much. Hey, hold on. This is hypocrisy at its finest. Yeah. I love the NFL. I love what the NFL stands for. I understand the NFL has to protect the shield and protect the brand. But what makes no sense is that the NFL also has beer commercials. We have beer commercials. So, Hugh Check, what does he do? he does nicknames the juice and he chugs the juice some would say it was a beer because that makes much more sense they don't know NFL y 'all gotta stop trying to figure out what these celebrations y 'all don't know y 'all don't know nothing see y 'all think the celebration that Chase and Higgins did y 'all think there was something you know they think it was something else they were doing something else that's what they think y 'all don't know nothing you don't the owners don't know Roger don't know Roger you don't know what they were doing and you try to go to social media you think you got some social media some people in the social media team they don't know hey it's a little excessive though it's a little excessive but I wouldn't stop Chase T Higgins you check don't let that stop you from enjoying the game and having fun continue to entertain continue to play joyful like your little kid again this is a kid's game it's a this is a kid's game you get paid a hefty ransom keep enjoying it keep enjoying you finding me like a grown ass man that ain't no kids fine right there what y 'all took right eight or nine thousand between two players hey man you know you know what them checks look like every every monday oh i know what it looked

59:15Chad Johnson:like but but it add up though ocho i ain't hey look you know me uh ocho ain't hey don't give them nothing back hey i'm gonna get it back i'm gonna get it back regardless they could they could take that so whatever you take for me i'm gonna get back tenfold i ain't tripping that's just the way i thought joe nah you hey the players got to fight that with the union or something yeah ocho too i mean because you when you take the celebrations out of football bro come on it kind of distorts like touchdowns because i love seeing when guys scoring the creativeness that comes afterwards what they come up with you take that away or guys keep getting fined for excessive

59:50Shannon Sharpe:celebrate come on man if you think about it joe and ocho we're the only league that baseball they win, they celebrate. Women's basketball, WMEA, they celebrate. The NBA, they celebrate. We can't have no alcohol, and we can't have no champagne. I guarantee you more money from alcohol goes to the NFL than any other league in the world. More than MLB, more than the NBA, more than soccer, more than anywhere. I hate this one thing that irks me about the league that helped make Shannon Sharp what he is. is that I hate the holier than thou. I hate the hypocrisy in which they operate. That irks me. Yeah.

1:00:37Shannon Sharpe:Oh, so because you don't show your players drinking, do you think the fans actually think players don't drink beer? Do you actually think, oh, well, we don't show it in our locker room, we don't show it on the field, so the fans are going to think They don't drink champagne. They don't drink it. Really? Do y 'all think the fans are that dumb? Do y 'all think the fans are that naive, that gullible? That's the only thing. And the NFL has done some great things. But this is the one thing that really bothers me and annoys me about them. Why can't the WNBA, the NBA, the MLB, why can't everybody go in the locker room and celebrate except the biggest league nobody generates more revenue than the NFL.

1:01:30Shannon Sharpe:And we're supposed to win the Super Bowl and pretend like nothing happened. It's tough, and it just makes no sense, Uncle. Because if you watch an NFL game, half the commercial, Joe, is about what? Yeah. Beer, advertising beer. They pay a lot of money for those slots, Uncle Joe. For sure. They pay a lot of money for those slots. Because they get their money because they know how many eyeballs are watching NFL games on average per week. And I guarantee you, ta-da. And guess what, Ocho? I guarantee you all 32 teams got a beer sponsor. What you want to bet? Hold on. What is everybody drinking at the games, huh?

1:02:08When you go to the concession stand. They ain't drinking water. It's soda.

1:02:13Shannon Sharpe:Come on, man. They charging$18 and$20 for something. Yeah. In them big-ass cups. Mm-hmm. But the funny thing, I understand, I can also put myself in that suit and tie, in that position of power as an NFL and trying to protect the brand, trying to protect the shield, and making sure I still have control of my players. I see it. I get it. I get it. But again, I'm also siding with the players. Like, come on. Enough is enough. You can't be hypocritical, especially not in a situation like this. Yeah. You can't. You can't. What's fair is fair. How much beer cost at a game? I mean, I ain't never purchased a beer.

1:02:54Shannon Sharpe:But how much beer cost at a game, Chad? I know some of y 'all go to it. $30? I know how much hot dogs are. Man, I get a six-pack. I'll be drunk before I get to the game. $30 for a cup of beer? That's why they tailgate so hard. Hold on. They serious? $30 for real? Yeah. For a cup of beer? Oh, you talk about a pitcher. A pitcher. you're talking about like a pitcher no i'm talking about one of them 18 20 20 okay 12 22 15 minimum 20 18. so i think somewhere between 18 and 22 bucks seems like to be the going rate 18 to 20 bucks okay that's still hell that's a six pack

1:03:39Chad Johnson:yeah but if you already if i got you in the building huh yeah you're gonna you got no choice you're right you're right you're right especially at a especially at a sporting event we might complain about the prices we might complain about the prices but once we're in the building at an event you're gonna pay for it you're gonna complain but you're still gonna pay for it because you're there and you got to have your drink and they know that they know but all i'm saying is

1:04:04Shannon Sharpe:that the celebration i mean i mean nfl players want to celebrate i mean that's a crowning achievement and you see baseball players they they spraying each other you see nba they spraying each other even wmba i like i was like man that'd be so cool going up seeing all the celebrations i wanted to be a part of the celebration hello hello hey that's crazy don't think for one second we didn't celebrate that but who you telling hey hey hey you lucky if i was chasing t i'd come with something else yeah i am i'm gonna keep pushing the envelope joe wow hey oh joe by the end of the season how much fine money they've been to get out of you me yeah uh you got to think joe i said i said a a certain amount of staff for fans before the season even started because i

1:04:56Chad Johnson:already know what time it was and if you and so now now in today's game you making the money that these guys i would i would set money aside for the fines so as they take the money out my check joe I take that allotment and then put it back in my account based on what comes out of my check. And by the time we got to about year six, me and Adele was on such a good rapport, like bad, bad student, and he's the principal. I started sending my money to the league office a week in advance before the game. Like to kind of piss them off so you don't have to hear, don't even waste your time sending me that FedEx because here go your money ahead of time.

1:05:32Oh, man, Joe, hey, Joe, you're not controlling me. You're not controlling me. In an instruction environment, you know, I got to play within the game. You know, I never crossed the line. You know what I mean, right?

1:05:46Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, for sure. Hey, Joe, I never went over that line. I stayed right within the confines, and I didn't allow them to control me, but I knew what lines not to cross. Right. If that makes sense. I ain't no dummy now. They just got me. I didn't get fined for celebration, Ocho and Joe. I just got fined for my uniform. Because you know that your pants got to come below your knees and your socks got to be pulled up. And your jersey need to be tucked in. They fined me. Like I said, you see how I covered up my shoes, Joe, because you can't have on it with two colors. Like, who watching that? Who cares?

1:06:23Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. But you know you got a former player. I think it was David Fulcher for you guys. David Fulcher. Fulcher where Fulcher at man let me get my money back Merton Hanks you know Merton Hanks was the one I had to appeal with huh yeah hey Merton said nope man it's your third offense hey Joe depending on what color jersey we wore I like my chin strap to match my jersey and my gloves so we were wearing black jerseys Joe I changed out and put the black chin strap in we wearing orange jerseys I changed to put the orange chin strap in with the orange gloves and the little orange tape with the tiger stripe on it yeah yeah man like come on come on Ocho come on man why you keep doing this I'm like Mert man this is what I used to do in high school and you know how to make you button your chin strap too Ocho huh you could because I used to let my chin strap flap I just why you think my helmet kept flying off on I kept one loose too yeah they trying to be like they find you for that they'll find you for that now Ocho yeah who you trying to be like Ocho You like prime?

1:07:24Hey, I let one hang on purpose. It was a little clip of me getting of all my hard hits. Joe, if it was like 10 plays, 8 out of the 10, my helmet went flying.

1:07:36Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. They get all – they get – hey, they probably get – what you think, Ocho? I think they get a couple of million dollars, maybe a little bit more in fine money. You figure 16 games a week? Somebody's going to have a uniform. Somebody's going to do a celebration. Somebody's going to do an illegal tackle. Somebody's going to do an illegal block. Oh, they're going to get – yeah, they're probably easy getting $10,$15,$20 million a year in fine money.

1:08:08Chad Johnson:Oh, man, easy. Think about it. In basketball, I remember us having a meeting, and they was telling us about the fine money. This was back in like 2017, 18, Uncle Ocho. They say it was about 50, 55 million in fine money just sitting there. Hey, where that money goes to? So imagine 10 years. That was about a decade ago.

1:08:28Shannon Sharpe:What they did, they definitely get more than that. Because you know every week, Ocho, somebody got an illegal block. Doing something. Because if you chop block, Ocho, Joe, if you chop block somebody, that's an illegal block, they're going to fine you for that. Yep. You go helmet to helmet with somebody, they're going to fine you for that. $15 ,000. You leg-whipped somebody, you're going to get fined for that. You illegal crack back on somebody, you're going to get fined for that. You hip-drop somebody, you're getting fined for that. You hit a defensive receiver, you're fined for that. Celebration, you're fined.

1:09:00Chad Johnson:Where is this fine money going?

1:09:02Shannon Sharpe:Don't start me lying. Hey, Joe. That's what I'm talking about. Don't start me lying, Joe. I need to go down the rabbit hole, Joe, and find out where that money goes, Joe. They say it goes to. I'm telling you they say it goes to a charity of choice you know but you don't get to choose the charity now they get to choose exactly what I ain't no charity of choice is my money I should get to choose man y 'all know what going on huh yeah but it is fine but it used to be I don't even think you get no more file thank Ocho when I was there it was five thousand dollars for your uniform I don't think that I don't think they got any five thousand dollar fines anymore now everything seemed like it started at 15 000.

1:09:45yeah probably yeah you got to wear a mouth i think

1:09:49Shannon Sharpe:you probably other than the quarterback you probably have to wear a mouthpiece but you definitely got to have that chin strap buckle because i let both of mine hang oh yeah oh yeah you did you did have both um yeah i did i just let one hang i did i was i wanted to be listen i wanted to be like dion joe even though i'm on offense it just looked it just looked cool like I don't know why. But see, I couldn't have it tight, Joe, because I'm talking. I'm continuously talking. I need to be loose. Man, shut your punk ass up. I ain't got time to take no mouthpiece out of my mouth. I ain't got time to unbuckle my chin strap.

1:10:26Shannon Sharpe:So because it's, mm-mm. I ain't got time to do none of that. I'm talking out the real. Oh, man, those were some good days, boy. Oh, and there's some good memories. Ooh, I know they're here. Oh, there they're right there. I lied. Look what we got. Look what y 'all look at. That little soap. That little soap. What that is? That little soap. That my wish list.

1:10:48Chad Johnson:That's that 75 inch in the cart. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Let me tell you something, man. Don't be acting like that when I win. You know what I'm saying? You not. Keep the price up. I'm winning next week for sure. I ain't know it was coming like this here. You see it? Hold y 'all look at that. Look what's in the cart. Hey, hey. Hey, a little 75, huh?

1:11:10Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, a little 75. A little 75. Gold Knights, a little wall. Hey, you should have got an 84, though. Nah, Ocho, it's got to be within the budget. I mean, 75, 84 can't be that much more. Yeah, look, probably like$100. Oh, that ain't nothing.

1:11:27Chad Johnson:You got it. Ocho, he's standing out about it. He's got to be in the budget here. He's sitting in the budget, Ocho. I could have sworn he said that earlier, didn't he, Joe? Come on, man. I changed my mind. Hey, I'm gonna win next week too, Joe. Hey, me and you gonna win. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, we were one winner. Hello, that's all I'm saying. That's it, hey, hey. Well, Joe. Two is not a winner and three nobody remember. Well, hold on, what if we - I'm planning on taking them. What if we both pick the same answer and we both win, then what?

1:11:54Shannon Sharpe:Well, I got, you know, I just added to my wish list. You know what y 'all wanna say? Hey, can we have two people to win or we gonna keep it at one? okay yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah but they don't want chat y 'all see how they don't want me to win they don't want me to win nothing now you good you good huh you know we let you get now i'm cool with you winning huh i'm cool okay appreciate appreciate that ass appreciate that there we go make it make it even man it's even joke nah it is even when you win it seems like

1:12:31Chad Johnson:it go in your favor.

1:12:32Shannon Sharpe:I didn't have to tell y 'all nothing. I could have just been collecting I could have just been collecting gifts give y 'all gift cards

1:12:46Shannon Sharpe:the Steelers quarterback Joey Porter was talking cash ish about facing Jamar Chase if he was to play on Sunday against the Bengals take a listen what Joey Peace Jr. had to say

1:13:01Chad Johnson:Yeah, you know, it's always a good matchup with the Bengals and what they got over there. Their talent, you know, and I always wanted to sharpen iron on iron. So definitely getting out there with those guys is always a good matchup. Any help that you're familiar with this team, those receivers, this offense, as far as, you know, ramping up and not needing to know what they do? I mean, yeah, I mean, I played them six times. T and Chase five times each because they both hurt one time out of the six. But, yeah, I feel like I have a good indication on those guys and what they like to do. And I never really struggled against them, so it's always been fun for me getting out there.

1:13:36Ooh. Hey. You heard what the man said, OJ. I hear him talking. Listen, I never really struggled against them. T or, you know, Jamar, I like the way he's talking, but I'll tell you one thing. You ain't played in two games, right? Yeah. played in two games. Do you think you're going to get off? Get off? Not off the couch. You're working out. You know, you're nursing a back injury, if I'm not mistaken. Now, listen, Joey Porter Jr. is really good. I like young Bull, even though he's a stealer. Guess what? Every snap, you know where he's going to be at?

1:14:06Shannon Sharpe:Where? Right here in your face. If he's going to be there Sunday, that's what you need to know. No, I don't need to know that. I don't need to know that. He's going to get what's coming to him. What he's going to get out there? Hey, listen, if he's going to get out there, without playing any games and strap anything up over there wearing a striped helmet well he got

1:14:27Chad Johnson:another thought coming you hear me he got fresh he got fresh legs ocho he ain't played he ain't got no way that's the problem he ain't played and you got to come deal with them boys there man listen man huh you that's like riding the car with no seat belt boy everything's gonna be open huh what we talking about and i like joy porter jr boy hey hey joe straight man to man I mean your face, in your grill. Every play, first down, second down, third down. You're going to have to show me you can get open. I like it. Real physical, too, at the point of attack. I like it. Yeah. But, hey, he ain't doing nothing.

1:15:04It sounds good. He ain't doing nothing.

1:15:07Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey. Hey, that AMC North, that division a little different now. He's the best in the world, Joe.

1:15:13Shannon Sharpe:At that rate of talking, you would expect him to play, but I don't know if I expect him to play. reading the tea leaves and reading all the articles I can up on this. He said, you know, he'll definitely play for the Steelers this year. He just doesn't know when that is. Hey, you know what that means, huh? Huh? Hey, you and you, you're not paying me enough. You want me to get out there?

1:15:34Chad Johnson:Yeah. You want me to get out there? You need to pay me like I play. Pay me for what I've done and what I'm going to do in the foreseeable future if you want me on that field. If not, how about you trade me? Hey. Trade me. Hey, you got to pay like you wait man. Hey, these dudes out here, they trying to get their bread. He's worthy of it too, Ocho. Yeah. But look, I don't think he gonna play neither. He blowing all this smoke. Yeah, yeah. You hear me? He know he ain't gonna even be out there. You know what I mean? Come on, man.

1:16:07Shannon Sharpe:He just making it tough on everybody else. How you, how you, hey, how you gonna...

1:16:13Chad Johnson:That's what I'm saying. Yeah. What you doing, Ojo? That's where he gonna be at. That's how close he gonna be? Yeah, right here. Hey, he gonna be damn near offside. Man, back up, you offside. Hey, his arms real long, Joe. Yeah, yeah. And he gonna stab. He gonna stab, he gonna ride with me. Man, hey, I like Joey Porter Jr. now. I like him now. He like, I love me some DB talk, but the way he talking, You don't want to come back after not playing, right, Joe? You don't want to come back after not playing. In the first game, you face real competition. It's two of the better duos in the league. That's not what you want to do.

1:16:56You need to work your way up. Like, if you're a boxer, you don't jump into the big fight. You got to get you a little tune-up. So, Joey Porter talking like he really want that smoke. How you just going to go straight to the top dogs? Talk about what you going to do. Nah, my boy. I'm the top dog.

1:17:10Shannon Sharpe:I left off. I was the top dog. I ain't feel off. nah

1:17:14Chad Johnson:hey you know you know that first game adrenaline adrenaline getting through that first game he might have a decent game against y 'all decent game against who against the Bengals are you talking about the same Bengals that put BTA to the Texans yeah I seen that we talking week to week though that's old let me tell you something Joe we ain't even in our bag yet you hear me we not even in our bag yet huh Chase Chase what he had 75 this week he had 12 the first week, we ain't even in our bag yet. Huh? Chase Brown ain't even got active yet. You feel me? Yeah. Joe Burrow not even playing like Joe Burrow yet.

1:17:52Zach Taylor hasn't even reached in his bag of creativity yet. Like, what you doing? We 2-0 out the gate. Something that we haven't done in a very long time. Because we always have to do our thing. You see how he talking, Joe?

1:18:05Shannon Sharpe:Look at him talking. Huh? Look at him talking. Huh? Yeah. Yeah. I'm feeling good, huh? Can you hear me? They went two games and now he feeling good. We got to slow him up because we don't, hey, him, you know, he one of them guys that don't handle prosperity well. Who don't? You. Hey, I handled it real well. I can't help, you know, the success that we're having. I can't help. That is two games. What does that mean? Hey, it's week to week, ain't it? and still early hey it's y 'all look good y 'all y 'all look good thank you joe thank you joe y 'all look good too the cowboys look pretty good too joe thank you bro i'm still pissed they ain't getting picked the ball and i know y 'all ran down the numbers and the stats and and pick just got it you know pick got us just as many targets i don't care it don't show up on the stat sheet you fix it or you piss me off we're gonna get him right oh don't worry all right we're gonna get him

1:19:07Chad Johnson:right?

1:19:08Shannon Sharpe:I look, I think the thing is, I think we're all in agreeance. Joey Porter Jr. has earned a new contract. I think and I think the Steelers believe he's earned a new contract. I think where the Steelers and Joey Porter's management or agency, where they differ him moving to the front of the line. I don't see him pole vaulting. I don't see him pole vaulting McDuffie and those guys. I don't. I don't.

1:19:41Shannon Sharpe:because a lot of the guys up there they're all pros, they're Pro Bowl players. Did Porter make the Pro Bowl? See, that's what, you know what, see that's what, that's the problem. I don't think he's made a Pro Bowl, I don't think he has an All Pro but what I do see is when you turn that film on I see a very, very very good corner. Yeah, for sure Absolutely. Very good. Absolutely. But like I said, I mean, you look at you look at Saul's garden when he reset it. Saul's garden was rookie of the year. Two time first team all pro. Right. You look at Sertan. He was he was defensive player of the year.

1:20:19Shannon Sharpe:All pro regarded as the best corner in football. You look at Stingley Pro Bowl. All pro. You look at a spoon. You look at McDuffie. You look at those guys that that move to the front of the line. And you're like, OK, I can see it. So I think the Steelers are probably trying to slot him somewhere between 25 and 30, and he's looking to go to 34. Oh. I'm just – I understand. I hear what you're saying. And I don't like the fact that when it comes to playing players, obviously based on Pro Bowls you've been to and the first team All-Pros and some of these other accolades that come into question, that come into play when it's time to negotiate.

1:21:03but for me, the eye in the sky doesn't lie. And for me to be sitting here dying on that hill for a Steelers player is because I understand what I've been watching from young boys since he's gotten there. And I kind of understand his point based on what I'm seeing and understand the asset and value that you are defensively because there ain't too many that can do what you do.

1:21:23Shannon Sharpe:No. Hey, Joey Porter, I want you to line up on the number one. Play man-to-man all day. Play man-to-man all four quarters so I can do other things defensively. with the other 10 people. I got him. I know you can take care of that. You can't do that with everybody. Let me ask you a question. Because I think the guys that they move to the front of the line, they say we believe moving forward these guys will continue to be an all-pro, a pro bowl player, and potential defensive player of the year. You're right. You're right. When you look at Joey Porter Jr., the rejection is that people are like, I don't believe in back pay.

1:22:00Shannon Sharpe:I paid you for what you've done. If I give you a contract now, I'm paying you based on what I believe you would do. Yeah. So somebody's like, well, you know, I think we're going to talk about Vladimir Guerrero Jr. talking about he got a$500 million deal. And he's talking about they don't pay me to hit 40 home runs a year. They pay me for what I've done. No, hell no. They already paid you for that. in fact it wasn't like you were playing for free and they got to back pay you no they paid for that so looking at joint porter jr they're probably looking at okay where do we project him to be ocho say in the next three to four years where do we project them do we project them to be a top let's just say top four we expect them to be stingley uh uh Sertan II, Spoon, because guess what?

1:22:55Shannon Sharpe:You got Quinjon Mitchell. You got Cooper DeGene. Got all those guys coming up. Mm. That's tough.

1:23:09Chad Johnson:That's tough. It is. Hey, I got a question. So y 'all don't think the Steelers will get a contract done for Porter before this weekend?

1:23:21Shannon Sharpe:They don't normally, teams try to stay away from doing contracts once the season starts? Once the season starts, yeah. They try to stay away from that, Joe. They want you to focus on the game because, you know, they focus on the game, but I'm thinking about that money. Hey, I could focus on the game better if I had my money. Exactly. I did one contract during the season. And had I not had kids, I would have waited, but i had kids i need a child support hey i need i need that huh i did a joe joe i need that

1:23:56Chad Johnson:hey i'm paying for my attorney and hers yeah we yeah let me go get it it was under i was under

1:24:04Shannon Sharpe:value but hey hey i see hey i'll be back to the table soon yeah just let me get this just let me get this pressure off me. Damn. I forgot Christian Gonzalez the last one to sign.

1:24:22Chad Johnson:Yeah, he re-sayed everything. Hey, but I'm saying with Porter being such a intricate piece to the Steelers, why wouldn't they want to take care of him, though? I think they do.

1:24:33Shannon Sharpe:The question is the number in which I take care of you. They probably fall off too,

1:24:37Chad Johnson:Joe.

1:24:39Shannon Sharpe:Joe, look, you might want to get the old lady a ride. She's like, oh, I ain't got no problem getting a ride but you got a honda in mind she got a maybach in mind oh you see the difference you ain't got no problem wanting to take care of her it's just to the extent of taking care of her you got a nice little two-bedroom condo you like a nice little two-bedroom brownstone yeah yeah yeah she said yeah joe i need like 10 000 with a pool in the wall oh oh 10 000 what who square feet man please who hold on who gonna upkeep that oh hold on if she get a maybach who gonna pay the maintenance but but see that's what i'm saying you say i want you to take the steelers want to take care of a junior that to what extent and taking care of him yeah they want to take care of on a honda level he looking at he looking at spectra he looking at rose he looking at phantom yes sir maybach they looking like okay we might can do a s580 but not the maybach edition oh yeah that's That's insulting.

1:25:40Shannon Sharpe:That's insulting. So that's the thing. I think the team, I don't think there's any hesitation. I think the team absolutely knows that he's earned a pay raise. How high do we go, Ochoa and Joe? I think that's what they're struggling with. Because I don't think, me personally, this is me, this is my personal. I don't think they view him as a Christian Gonzalez. I don't think they view him as a Pat Sertan. I don't think they view him as a sport. I don't. Now, I could be wrong. They might view him. But I don't think they view him as that level. Let me tell you what. If they did view him like the top-tier corner in the league, he wouldn't be having this issue right now.

1:26:17He'll be playing this week against the Bengals. But I know one thing. You know, hey, my homeboy.

1:26:25Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Asante Samuel Jr. Yeah. You're going to have to deal with Chase. You're going to have to deal with Tee Higgins. Yeah. I'm not sure who's playing defensive back on the other side of the ball. Damn, I wonder who was playing on the other side. I don't know. You know what? It don't matter. They finna get this work. Huh? Who they? Who they? Who they think they gonna beat these bangles? Now he feeling good. Look at him. Yeah, who they? Yeah, Joe.
