In short
Nightcap Hour 1 recaps playoff games, focusing on the Patriots’ defensive win over the Chargers (16-3) and the 49ers’ wild-card win over the Eagles (23-19), plus sideline/locker-room drama involving AJ Brown and Eagles coach Nick Sirianni.
Key claims
The Patriots’ defense was disciplined and fundamentally sound under Mike Vrabel, generating pressure and limiting contested throws; Christian Gonzalez shut down the Chargers’ passing targets (27 coverage snaps, 5 targets, 0 catches, 0 yards, 2 pass deflections). Justin Herbert remains “0-3 in the playoffs,” and the Chargers’ offensive line issues (loss of key starters) prevented protection. The Eagles’ offense struggled because they couldn’t generate pressure and couldn’t run consistently; AJ Brown’s frustration and public comments/altercation with Sirianni hurt team focus.
Notable examples
Patriots’ first playoff win since 2018; Patriots’ sack-heavy game (six sacks). Eagles: AJ Brown finished with 3 catches for 25 yards; Hurts threw 75 yards in the second half; Eagles had four third-down drops vs San Francisco.

5:41Shannon Sharpe:Good evening, everyone, and thank you for joining us for another episode of Nightcap. Wow, we had some very exciting games today. The latter game kind of got out of hand late, but it was very exciting. What, 6-3 at the half, maybe 3-3 at the half. I forget the score. But then all of a sudden, the defenses took over, but Drake May was able to make a few more plays than I forget the quarterback's name off the top of my head. Justin Herbert. But Drake may play really well. Ocho, these defenses we're getting after today. Tonight's game, six sacks, five sacks. They were hunting pressure to quarterback.
6:16Shannon Sharpe:But like I said, Drake may made a few more plays at the end of the ball game, and they were able to win this game. They're going to be a tough out. Whoever has to play, obviously, we know the winner of the Pittsburgh-Tennessee game will take on the Patriots, and Buffalo goes to Denver. We just don't know. I don't know if we know when they play. Denver will probably play Saturday because the winner of the Monday night game, they're not going to make them turn around and play Saturday. So there's a greater chance. I think there's probably a 99 % chance that game is the Denver Broncos and the Buffalo Bills will play Saturday.
6:53Shannon Sharpe:That's what my guess would be. But thank you guys for joining us for another episode of Nightcap. Y 'all know who I am. I'm your favorite unk. But it's in partnership with Netflix, so we really appreciate Netflix. You allowing us to collab with you and Do Our Thing. Ocho and I, Do Our Thing, along with Joe. Thanks for allowing us to do this Guys Night Out. It's going to be live on YouTube. to Netflix, The Rip, also sponsored by Shea Shea Media. So guys, look for that. That's Tuesday night. Hey, we got some big things coming. We got some other things that we're working on that you'll see probably later at the beginning of March, maybe even April.
11:54Shannon Sharpe:But we got Ocho and I working on some things we think you're going to like. The Patriots beat the Chargers by the score of 16-3, our first wildcard game this weekend that wasn't settled by more than four points and won that after the two-minute drill. because, you know, Buffalo took the lead in two minutes. The Bears took the lead. We saw the game before that. So the games early, three out of four games, three out of four games, three out of four games were really, really exciting. This game was exciting. I mean, you didn't really know until the Patriots broke the game open. It's the Patriots' first playoff win since 2018.
12:29Shannon Sharpe:Yes, sir. Ojo, I don't know about you, but the Patriots' defense, boy. They look very good. They look very good. And listen, the Chargers defense went too shabby themselves, man. They went too shabby themselves. Odofe Owee, I think I'm saying his name right. Henley. He was at the Ravens. Oh, that's him! They traded him to the Ravens. I mean, he had zero sacks. He goes there. He had seven and a half to finish the season. He had two tonight. Obviously, two, Luke. the song of the warrior, he was doing his thing. But if you look at the Patriots, Ocho, this is why one of the first signings when they could get somebody was Big Williams, Henry Williams.
13:19Shannon Sharpe:Remember he was on Philly. Remember he was raising the nail in the Superbowl. He was giving you work. Kelavon Chason, he was putting in work. Anthony Jennings, he was putting in work. Barmore, they're unbelievable up front. And that back end, they didn't, they didn't lie him a whole lot of time. to throw the ball. And when he did have time to throw, a lot of those throws were very, very contested. Absolutely. Their defense is, I'm not even going to say underrated, because they've been playing very well all season long. I can't say underrated. They are a very well-coached team. They are a very well-coached team.
13:52You'll tell there's a lot of discipline that goes into what Vrabel brings to that team, a lot of structure, and that Patriot way still lives on in a sense. And the fact that they have that one centerpiece, the fact that they have that one centerpiece and goddamn Drake made is the reason why everything seems so fluid and consistent for them. That's the only word I can think of. They've been fluid and very consistent all season long. So I'm excited for the Patriots. I think this is the first time they've been to – let me make sure I say it the right way.
14:30Shannon Sharpe:They won a playoff game since 2018? Is it 2018? Yeah, I thought it was 2016. when they won the Super Bowl. Because remember the next year, Tom Brady lost in the division, the wild card round to the Titans. I have a question. I mean, your honest thoughts, based on how they look this season, how they look tonight, and obviously once you get to the playoffs, points are at a premium. You can't really make mistakes. You really can't turn the ball over. There were some turnovers, but the defense played so goddamn well, it didn't really affect the game or the outcome. No, for the Patriots, for that matter.
15:05But how do you see them faring as the season goes on into the playoffs? They're going to be a tough out because there's a great chance
15:17Shannon Sharpe:they won't have to leave Foxborough. They're going to get the winner of Pittsburgh, the Texans. Now, we know the Texans break the defense. And the reason why you say they're not underrated, but we don't talk about the Patriots defense like we talk about the Texans, like we talk about the Broncos. We don't talk about them like that because they don't have, I mean, the Broncos were 20 sacks ahead of everybody. And you see all the all pros that they have, you know, Benito, he didn't make it, but he made the pro bowl. Zach Allen was an all pro. Hufanga was, was a pro bowl player, you know, so they had a lot of Zach.
15:54Shannon Sharpe:Allen was an all pro and a pro bowl player. So they had five, five or six all pro, I mean, pro bowl players and all pros. And so we talk about them. We talk about Will Anderson Jr. We talk about some of those guys, even though Shazir did not make the Pro Bowl, Danelle Hunter could have easily made the Pro Bowl, Petrie, Stigley Jr. But we don't talk about – the only person that you really mention on that defense is Gonzalez. Hey, he nice, boy. Oh, yeah, yeah, he fluid. But you see when he T-stepped, though. You see how he T-stepped? You notice when Quentin Johnson ran that – Yeah, I did notice it.
16:32Well, he got up out of that thing so goddamn fast.
16:35Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. But you look at Milton Williams. You look at Caleb on chase on. You look at Anthony Jennings. You look at Barmore. You look at those guys. They got guys that hunt. They got guys that hunt. And they're, like you said, they're very disciplined. They're very, they're where they're supposed to be. Now, one time on that fourth down, when they got outside, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, I'm glad it's fourth down, but you got to get, you got contained. don't get cute don't get cute stay where you're supposed to be and if they beat us with where you're supposed to be that's on us, that's coaching I can live with that but don't get beat out of position that's that Coach Belichick in him because the one thing I played against Brable played against him when he was in Pittsburgh and played against him when he was in New England he was fundamentally sound if he was supposed to have contain you were not going to hook him if he If he got to set the edge, Ocho, you go into the sideline.
17:34Shannon Sharpe:You go to – you have to be out – both of y 'all be out of bounds, but you're not getting that edge. You know who else? If I'm not mistaken, he was on one side. Was Willie McGinnis on the other side? Yeah. Willie was more – yeah, Willie was – it was him, Willie. Vince Woolfolk was there then. Woolfolk was there. Obviously, Brewski. They had Ted Johnson. uh tie lawyer malloy had left by the time they had already traded lawyer malloy rodney harrison was there then when i when i when i played him the second time around in denver uh but they were they were fundamentally sound and they're fundamentally sound now you can tell the way that brable took now i don't know how much of his coaching style um because he seems a lot different than coach belichick belichick show no emotion hey they knocking they knocking a Ray will last on the ground.
18:29Shannon Sharpe:He done bust his lip. You know, Milton Williams done bust his lip. He hugged him when he got that sack to basically end the game. And he's like, man, this mofo done bust my lip out here, man. But they have fun. He's allowed them to have fun. You see him, hey, him and Stephon Diggs, from the time he's like, hey, we've explained to Stephon why we brought him here. That's not part of the reason. They haven't had any more issues with Stephon Diggs. Stephon Diggs has been great. 1 ,000-yard receiving season. He's leading that young group. Drake may believe in him. Boutte making plays. Hooper and Hunter Henry, all those guys making plays.
19:07Shannon Sharpe:Guys just making plays. Ochoa, they're going to be a tough out. They're going to be a tough out. They're going to be a tough out. Now, look, obviously, Buffalo and the Broncos. Buffalo blew the Broncos out last year, but I think they're a different team. I think they're a better team, but Buffalo's not to be played with because that quarterback is as big time in the moments as they come. Look at his resume. Nobody averages more total yards per attempt. He's big time when it comes postseason. Now he's a different guy. Basically every game, for the most part, he has that cape on. And he put it on again today.
19:45Yeah, most definitely. You know what I don't like? We'll get to that game. We'll get to that game. I'll be sure we get there. Yeah.
19:51Shannon Sharpe:But I'm looking at the stats, Ocho. 16-3 lets you know, I mean, a lot of people don't like, you know, people like offense, people like Green Bay, Chicago, people like Carolina Rams. That's what they like, Ocho. We like 35-31. We like 31-27. Man, three points, that's all you got? You paid 60 minutes and they gave a three? Whoever get the ball last. I like them type of games. You like to be some suspense. Yes, sir. Man, you down with 40 seconds to go and you down 13 points. There ain't no suspense in that. None at all. You tried to cover. You tried to cover the spread now. But, yeah, this was a game kind of how I thought it would be.
20:40Shannon Sharpe:I thought both defenses played really, really well, Ocho. They played really well. I mean, turn the ball over defense like, okay, y 'all got a turnover, but y 'all ain't going nowhere with it. I don't know why y 'all took the ball from it. And now Justin Herbert is 0-3 in the playoffs. Obviously, during the regular season, he plays extremely well. He plays extremely well. I just don't know at what point he's going to get over the hump because the players and the quarterback that he's going to have to face in the playoffs, they ain't going nowhere. Yeah, they're good. Them AFC quarterbacks not going nowhere, and this was a good chance for him to be able to make his statement in the playoffs, and he just hadn't been able to do so.
21:16Good quarterback. You're talking about Justin Herbert, right? Yeah, Justin Herbert. like they couldn't get nothing going offensively man like all i know this is what we know and we're
21:27Shannon Sharpe:gonna have to have a conversation and that's what we do he had a 27 nothing lead against jacksonville they lost last year he threw four interceptions against the texans they lost tonight he scored three points now jim harbaugh and this or this organization is gonna take a long hard look y 'all better get some protection for this young man now it hurt that they lost they lost Slater and they lost both the real deal so that's two guys but y 'all gotta show that thing up man y 'all can't have this them two they lost they just ain't know anybody huh them anchors no no no no no that's your foundation for that offensive line so losing them that that's that was that was a big a big blow Makai Beckton didn't play well at all this year he didn't play well at all this year as opposed to how he looked when he was over there with the league.
22:16He played okay, but they handed him his ass tonight. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. He's been up and down. They handed him his ass tonight. He's been up and down. He's been very inconsistent.
22:25Shannon Sharpe:He has. He has. He has, Ojo. But I don't want – I think the Chargers, if we watched them play, they're a good team. But I think tonight was more about what the Patriots did do and not allowing the Chargers to do what they wanted to do. This game was more about the Patriots. and I think and I'm glad people got an opportunity because you and I have to watch a lot of games and we watched them play I was like I'm telling you they ain't got no big they ain't got no big names you know they ain't got no guys that's gonna jump off the page they got Drake made that's an MVP discussion but outside of that we watched them we watched Henderson go down there and and do a number on Tampa remind you Stevenson kind of been Nick this year but we know what he brings to the table the tight ends hooper and hunter henry they're kind of like under the radar but they're good they're good they ain't gonna jump off they ain't gonna jump off at you they're not they're not like bride they're not jumping off at you but they're gonna make they're gonna make their plays though they're gonna make their plays that's all they do okay that's all they do and that's all really you can ask them to do um christopher gonzalez against the chargers he had 27 cover snaps uh five targets no catches no yards two plans deflections zero touchdowns allowed all i know there's a lot of damn zeros i mean you got you got five you got 27 coverage snaps you got five targets and i don't see no catches i don't see no yards i see past deflection i don't see no touchdowns he nice now he's nice the only thing about it is most of the time when you're as good as he is, you know, most quarterbacks don't throw at him.

24:10Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, the receivers, the way it was looking like the receivers, hey, don't throw the ball to me. Damn. Y 'all don't want the ball? I don't give damn more on me. Give me a chance. I want to see if you are what they say you are. Look, I understand because you know the pro, because we normally have the pro bowl voting normally would be like week 14, week 15. 24:51Shannon Sharpe:But when we look at it tonight, Christian Gonzalez was sensational. But the defense was sensational. I thought the Patriots played over. Look, the Chargers can put pressure on your quarterback too now. Absolutely. Tule and Mack, Henley got a pick with Hunting, Denzel Perryman. We know Derwin James. I think the Chargers might need to go get some corners.
25:16Ain't much out there, huh? We talk about corners that can come in.
25:21Shannon Sharpe:Some coming out of college? Damn. I got to get something, Ocho, because if you look at the defensive line, they can get pressure. I love those two linebackers. Look, they're not big, but they suck. They get to where they're going in a hurry. They're running all red lights and they're coming with bad intentions. Yeah, man. Yes. Moto Casino. 30:08Shannon Sharpe:I think the only thing, you know, Derwin James, I like Jefferson. Jefferson, you know, we had him on the show. I think they need some corners, Ocho. I really do. I think that's the thing they lack. And they're going to go get a receiver. Johnson is too up and down, Ocho. He could, but he's too up and down. Quinn Johnson, he's too up and down. He had a great season this year, though. He had a great season this year. And the funny thing about it is, as great as Ladd McConkie was last year, it seemed like they didn't use him the same way they did last year. He was making plays week in and week out.
30:39Every time we looked up, Ladd McConkie was doing something crazy. and this year it seemed to be it seemed to be Quentin Johnson's year it seemed to be his year because he played extremely well he played with much more confidence as opposed to how we've seen him in the past
30:54Shannon Sharpe:and Gadsden came along Rodney Gadsden II he became more involved they're going to get another receiver I guarantee you within the first two rounds they're getting a corner and a wide receiver I bet you you're probably right the 49ers eliminated the defending Super Bowl champs the New England The Patriots by the score of 23-19 in the wild card game. Brock Purdy threw a go-ahead touchdown, six-yard touchdown, to Christian McCaffrey late in the fourth quarter. San Francisco used a trick play, a TD toss from Juwan Jennings, who hit Christian McCaffrey on a score. The Eagles had all their starters while the Niners were missing 16.
31:30Shannon Sharpe:They lost George Kittle early in the game. He tore his Achilles. That sucks, man. Yeah, man. Who you telling? This late in the season, Ochoa? this late in your career I mean Kittle's got to be year 10 year 11 uh but that being said oh Joe Brock Purdy man all I know hey hey he ain't gonna be he's not gonna make a throw like we saw Caleb Williams I think everybody got an opportunity to see it because they've been showing it look at this throw by Caleb Williams on 4th down. Yeah. That was a down. Yes. Now people got an opportunity to see it. Because it was hurry up offense and maybe they didn't get a chance to see it.
32:13Shannon Sharpe:But they've been replaying a lot today and they got an opportunity to see it. Ocho, the 49ers. I'm not surprised by this. We've been trying to tell Eagles fans about this all. Man, you can't keep throwing for 20 yards in the second half of a game. But we won. but we won. I see. You accepted things in a win. You never would in a loss. Now you okay? I got a question. How many yards did Hurst finish within the second half of this game? Hold on.
32:47Shannon Sharpe:This was not a great game for A.J. Brown. It wasn't. We tried to tell him this is why you don't make a fuss when you not getting no passes. We're going to get to him. We're going to get to him. Yeah. Hold on. Well, I don't know how many he had. He finished with 168. So he couldn't have had that, but pull up his numbers. What did he have?
33:14Shannon Sharpe:He was 20 or 35. For 168 yards.
33:22Shannon Sharpe:Devontae Smith was eight for 70. Dallas Garland was four for 33. Saquon was three for 25. A.J. Brown was three for 25. Cooper was one for nine Will Shipley one for six and Johan Dawson was zero for zero hey listen AJ were frustrated but you can't do that you can't lose your why he frustrated he dropping the ball before the drops oh you talking about this game I'm talking about this game in general my bad you got to be able to keep your head locked into the game because the minute you get frustrated and you're going at it with Sirianni because he tells you to hurry up and rush off the field before the ball is snapped so they don't call too many people on the goddamn field and you exchange the words with him, Knighton lost your cool, you didn't got your focus.
34:10Now when the ball does come your way, it beats you up. It beats you up because you're not there. And then you had two more opportunities after that. I think you had two deep balls. I mean, were they catchable?
34:25Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, this is a playoff game. you gotta be you gotta lay out for that you gotta go get that thing and the other one hit his hands and then he had another one on 13 it went right through his hands it's a big route we needed I'm talking about we but they needed that this is the night where you need your captain where you need your captain that wears that C on his chest to lead the team when things aren't going right Jalen not playing well the run game's not doing what he need to the next person to step up to lead that team and will them down that goddamn field in number 11. Hurst threw for 75 yards in the second half.
35:05Shannon Sharpe:He had 168 total. So if he had 168 total, he threw for 75 in the second half. How many did he throw for? So that means he had what? 90? So he had 87 yards. God. In the first half. right if you throw 168 and 75 yeah that defense over there is too good man that defense over there Ocho they couldn't get no pressure Ocho think about what they're missing they're missing Bosa they're missing a Warner I'm not talking about the 49ers I'm talking about this is the season wasted to a defense that played as well as the Eagles defense played all season long because of the offensive inconsistencies. If you can't run the ball, you can't run the ball, you can't throw the ball.
36:00Shannon Sharpe:Eagles fan, can I get some? I want to see the Eagles. I want to see the chat. I want to see the Eagles chat. They have so much to talk about. You don't know. Let me tell you what I do know. There have been a lot of teams that's won one in a row. You want to be impressive? Go back to back. That's hard. out. Oh, we're going to win it. Don't worry about us. Eagles, what? Is there any way I can get the chat? Hold on. I need to get the chat. I'm sorry. Hold on just a second. I got to get the chat. I got to see this chat because they got so much. They always run in their mouth and they figured, if you didn't know, they were the 49ers, the Cowboys when they won five, the Patriots, they won like 18 championships in a row.
36:42Shannon Sharpe:Let their fans tell it. Let their fans tell it. Now, they only won two championships in the last 10 years. But let them tell it. They the Patriots. Oh, we did this, this, this. Now, look at you. I got to get to the chat. I'm sorry, Ocho, but I got to pull up this chat. I got to. It's a must. You know, people got to understand how difficult it is to go back to back. You got to go back to back. No, but. But listen, and you can't win it. Who began, Ocho? On this platform, Uncle Ocho, name a guy that's been on Uncle Ocho that's been back to back. you would think you would think if I were to go to Dr.
37:21Shannon Sharpe:Neal who's one of the foremost orthopedics in the world, I would think he would know something about an ACL I would think he would know something about an Achilles injury, I would think he would know something about an elbow a Tommy John, I would think he would know something about that, but Eagles fans, you guys don't have nobody on your roster know what it's like to go back to back. I do. Now, I just want to know one thing. Do I have your attention? I should have your undivided attention because you don't have anything but time now. You ain't got to work no games to go to. You ain't got nothing to do.
37:58Shannon Sharpe:But listen to Uncle Ocho. Now, Ocho, back to our normally scheduled programming. Ocho about to take it away. Go ahead, Ocho. I want to talk about the 49ers. Now, I know probably coach of the year is probably going to go to what? Maybe Mike Rabel. Who do you think of the coach of the year? Rabel, maybe McDonald up in Seattle. Oh, that's a good one. We forgot about who needs to be in that conversation as well for what he's been able to do. Goddamn Shanahan. You got to understand that with what we saw all season long, with all the adversity the 49ers been through, no Fred Warner, no Nick Bosa. My brother George Kittle was hurt for some of the season.
38:38He goes out tonight. You missed like five games. No McHale Williams.
38:42Shannon Sharpe:Juwan Jennings was hurt. They prayed all year without IU. Remember Brock? You didn't even go down. Mack Jones had to come in. Big Trent. You missed some games as well. Hold on. Wait a minute. What about the linebackers, huh? They using fourth, fifth, sixth, 20th string linebackers. But still, they finding a way to win games. Every time. So coaching, coaching. That is coaching, huh? because most of the time you expect to have your starters. And what happens when your starters go out and the person that's a backup, they're a backup for a reason. They're a backup for a reason, but you've still been able to strive and win games and be consistent with those said backups.
39:28Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Ocho, you remember Silence of the Lambs, Ocho? You remember when Dr. Chilton, he went into the cell and he wanted to bargain with Anthony Hopkins. And he was making him all these promises that he told him he was going to tell him to the island and he can go out there one hour a day and they can turn around and all this stuff. He said because you ain't got nothing now. Eagle fans, y 'all ain't got nothing now. Y 'all have anything. Me, just Ocho just talking about teams that you're not going to be... Why y 'all mad at Ocho? They're not mad. They're upset because they lost. They lost, aren't they?
40:07Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. Okay, you're right, Ocho. Animals get mad. Humans get upset. Why y 'all upset at Ocho and I? We ain't playing. We just tried to tell y 'all what was going to happen. But you know more than everybody else. Now you man. Talk about, hey, do you root for anybody else? Do you ever root for the Eagles? I'll answer that question next year. I only talk about teams that are currently in the playoffs. And y 'all not one of them. Hey, I got another question. Go ahead. We know the 49ers won. I think Shanahan should be a part of that conversation. 49ers going to Seattle.
40:41Rams going to Chicago. I think Shanahan should be in that conversation for Coach of the Year. Oh, absolutely. Brock Purdy, hell of a game. That goddamn Christian McCaffrey, man, um, hell of a game. Hey, Jawan Jennings, boy, I salute you. I take my hat off, boy. You showed, though, you know what out tonight. Boy, he showed out tonight. Demarcus Robinson. Come on, man.
41:05Shannon Sharpe:Showed out tonight. But my thing is, I'm trying to figure out, Purdy got in trouble. He's going against, he's throwing to his third, second, third tight end. He's going to throw into his third, fourth wide receiver against Mitchell. All those other DBs on the field. And you pick him? Now, if that's Jennings, okay. If that's Robinson, okay. But I'm not throwing no backup at their best cover guy. Why would you do that? You play well. Keon Mitchell, nice, huh? He's the real deal. And the funny thing about it is, is when Slay was there and Cooper DeJount was playing so well in the slot, he's one of the reasons why, you know what, okay, we feel okay and we trust these two guys that we have, even though they're young.
41:53Man, that defense is young, huh? Them young, they ain't really got no old heads on there. Except, I mean, Brandon Graham came back to play, but they ain't really got no old heads. They got a bunch of young frat boys, man. They're balling. And the season is going to waste because of their inconsistencies offensively. Who do we blame? Sirianni? Do we blame Jalen? Do we blame A.J.?
42:14Shannon Sharpe:You can only pay so many people. You gave Jalen Hurst a big contract. You gave Saquon a big contract. Devontae got a big contract. A.J. Brown got a big contract. You paid Braun. You got to save some money for Mitchell. You got to save some for DeJuan because Milton Williams left. huff left think about the they couldn't generate the pressure this year like they could last year you you're out you're without big lane now the 40 at the 49ers i'm surprised that that the eagles struggled so much to throw the football because they couldn't generate no pressure that's been the 49ers issue once they lost bosa a guy that can win sudden a guy that can win right now But we were trying to tell y 'all, don't worry about it, we won.
43:00Shannon Sharpe:Well, you were accepting things in a win, you never would. So, if throwing for 75 yards in the second half, is that okay? Is your quarterback, we said, Ocho, it's amazing that they're winning game with their quarterback throwing for 150 yards. Only thing that matters is a win. Are you okay with your quarterback throwing for 168? You see, you accept things in a win, you never would say would tolerate a loss. now Ocho and I have your undivided attention the funny thing about it is during the season when he was throwing for those low numbers when he was throwing for those low numbers they were still winning so therefore everyone was saying listen if A.J.
43:39Brown's not catching balls if Devontae Smith's not catching balls even if the running game's not doing well we still won the game but now it comes to bite you in the ass when it matters most but see
43:53Shannon Sharpe:that's what Mike Shanahan used to tell us you don't accept things in a loss that you wouldn't win see you're accepting those so if you accept it Mocho what will you not do? You won't get better because you won the game see a lot of times winning is a mirage sometimes sometimes it's better to lose because it will force you to look within if you keep winning what's wrong we won because the objective of the game is to win so if we win the game how do I Self-evaluate. Guys ain't going to take a hard look at themselves. We won the game. Man, get up. Did we win? And so I'm glad I played for a coach that held us to a standard.
44:40Shannon Sharpe:We played to the standard. Yes, we want to win, but that'll get us beat. And in come postseason time, there is no next week. There is no week 10. There is no week 11. There is no week 14. Your season is over. The teams that lost tonight will get hefty bags. They're going to clean their lockout. Hey, man, Ocho, what you got going on, man? Hey, you know if you – hey, check this out. I'm going to be in Miami such and such a time. All right, man, hit me up. Hey, man, we need to go to Vegas. We need to go to Cancun, man. We need to do something. Hey, just let me know, bro, I'm good. I'm going to take the first month, first six weeks off, and then I'm going to get back into it.
45:17Shannon Sharpe:But, hey, I'm down for everything. Whatever you want to do, bro, just let me know I'm there. It's that kind of conversation. Why? Now, I tried to tell them. I said, AJ ain't going to be there next year. You don't know. You just talking. You big mouth. You know everything. So this kind of, hold on. This tonight, tonight, the altercation on the sideline, that really solidifies him not being there, you think? No. The behavior. Oh, in general. Okay, okay, okay. Oh, Joe, you know he left without talking to the media. Yeah, that happened when you're upset. Yeah, yeah. But when he wasn't getting the ball, what was he doing, Ocho?
46:00Shannon Sharpe:Talking to the media. So why you can't talk now? That's why I say you keep your mouth shut. Because this game has a way of humbling you. You beg for the ball. I can't do anything if I don't get the ball. Hell, I thought he had baseball gloves on me. first base i thought i was like well damn are you gonna catch anything tonight you see how that look now not everybody's looking at even eagles fans even his greatest supporters that say he should be getting the ball how they're looking at him now yeah i mean and with him i like aj i think it's a phenomenal talent and i said and my my thing was i said look i'm not saying that he's wrong i'm saying keep it behind closed doors that's the problem i I say when you make it public, people are going to look at you and say, you don't really care about winning.
46:55Shannon Sharpe:You care about your stats. And you don't ever want people to think, yes, everybody wants their numbers. I want to win. I wanted my numbers too. But I knew if we won the game, if I won the game, how am I going to come out and say, man, I only caught two passes? You can't win that. The Eagles had four drops on third down versus the Niners. This was the most third down drops that they've had in the regular season, as well as the most in a playoff game since ESPN began tracking stats in 2006. Dropping passes at the wrong time. At the wrong time. It's not the drop in the pass. It was who was dropping the pass, Ocho.
47:36Shannon Sharpe:It was the guy that was making the most stink about not getting the ball. That's what makes it so hard. That's what people are going to look at. we just get first crack at it because we got a show that come on after ball games. So we get what do you think everybody else is going to be talking about? What are they going to be replaying over and over again? Ain't going to be playing the sound where he says he needs the ball. Now a lot of times when he said he needed the ball they started trying to force feed him the ball. And the funny thing about it during the season, in the season when he complained about not getting the ball the next game, they feed him.
48:14and he made the plays. And just tonight, I mean, it was right back to the same old goddamn, I'm out here like I'm at a goddamn marathon. I feel like I'm at a marathon.
48:25Shannon Sharpe:No, Ocho, I ain't going to let you do that. They tried to get him the ball early. They tried to get him the ball early. It was not late in the game and he was dropping it. It was early in the game. Chat, back me up on this now. Don't let Ocho do that. They didn't wait until no fourth quarter to try to get him the ball. They try to get him the ball early I just remember I remember the two drops Towards the end of the game Them deep balls I'm laying out like Superman For them things I got to have him But obviously he's being contested He's being pulled and tugged Trying to fight through What am I trying to say Trying to fight through the hands Trying to fight through contact But still I hate that they let the DB be all handsy.
49:12They pick and choose when they want to call that stuff. But anyway, hey, I'm diving for that.
49:17Shannon Sharpe:Well, what about on that over route? So what would happen on that over route when Hurts hit in between the 11 when he had the ball right there? So what would happen on that one? Yeah. Okay, the one down the right rail when the ball went right through his hand, what would happen on that one? And the little dig route too, the little mini dig? Yeah. Damn, man. That sucked, man. That sucked, boy. That sucked. That's why you always got to stay calm. You got to stay calm. I've seen very few players complain about the ball and still be able to have that same focus, that same laser focus you need to be able to make those plays.
49:57Shannon Sharpe:All the greats complained about the ball. Go ask Peyton, did Marvin Harrison complain about the ball? Go ask Joe and Steve, did Jerry complain about the ball? ask Randall did CeCe complain about the ball you just don't do it publicly because when you do it publicly like he did like he was all on social media and now the biggest game of the season when they have to have it you got that seat you're the number one receiver you make 30 plus million you are no sure yeah you are no sure there's no way around it and I like AJ my only problem with AJ? I said, AJ, just keep that just, hey, you talk to Sirianni, you talk to Petula, you talk to Hurts, but do not say anything about getting the ball publicly because I'm telling you, they're going to eat you up.
50:54Yeah. I think, you know, you think him and Hurts get along? I'm just curious. I never see any interaction between him and his quarterback. Well, I thought they were boys. I thought that was one of the reasons why he wanted to go to field. I don't know. It just seems off. It seems odd. I see no interaction between those two in game. You know, most of the time, you come off the field, you go talk to your quarterback. What you see. Okay. What you see. Okay. Well, we can do this because he's playing me this way. Well, obviously on this down, this is what they doing. You know, maybe we need to make some adjustments.
51:30I don't see any type of communication between the two. Maybe I'm missing something. and maybe they do converse you know in game but there's no dialogue and it just seems there's the disconnect offensively in general
51:45Shannon Sharpe:part of me wants to look at it like this Ocho Hurts came from Alabama where he had Devontae and he had Ruggs and he had you know he had four receivers that go in the first round so he didn't really have to force the football so he didn't really there was not a guy like i got to give him the ball so he's looking okay if god is over i'm gonna give it to goddard if davante is open i'm gonna give it to davante if this guy were with ones oh joe you know you got a you got to get the targets they gonna need they need somewhere between six and ten targets a game maybe even 12 to be happy to feel like you're involving them in the offense.
52:32Shannon Sharpe:And the sooner you can make it happen, the more he'll relax and the more he'll feel like he's involved in the offense. The longer you let that go, the more frustrated he's going to get and the more he will start to press. And then, you know, bad things happen when you start to press. I don't know what it is. It's like the hands, all of a sudden, my damn hands, they got cramps in them. man open up damn it anytime you get frustrated i don't know if it's happened to you but games where i've gotten frustrated and i'm mad i will never address it i think me and carson the carson i had one one altercation that i told you about um never got into it with marvin but they can tell by my mannerisms and once i would lose focus and the funny thing about is when you lose focus and you're angry that's when the motherfucking ball come and man the ball beat you up it'd be i'm Me beat me up.
53:29So now I'm angry on the sideline. They throw me the ball the next drive, the next series, and I done dropped it.
53:36Shannon Sharpe:Mm-hmm. Ocho, I done got frustrated. I'm up there trying to catch it three times, thinking that's three catches. That ain't but one. I just bopping. I just mishandled it. Oh, yeah, that's still one catch. I hate that, man. I hate that. and that's when you start taking shots you bobble it and you you know you focused on the ball you don't see the guy that comes in the back come drill you in your face i just think to say look me personally i think it's best if aj and the eagles just go their separate ways he needs to go somewhere where he feels like he's gonna get he's looking at ocho i need to be getting them Puka Nakua type targets.
54:23Shannon Sharpe:I need to be getting Chase, Jetta and Jigba type targets. But he's not in that type of offense. Nor does he have a coach or offensive coordinator that has that kind of creativity. I mean, listen, it would have been great because the way they won the Super Bowl last year, you got to evolve. You have to evolve because you're not going to win it the same way you did last year. And it just seemed like everything was stagnant and the same way they thought or the same way they were able to win it last year, they had to have they tried to come back with the same formula this year. Same everything. Everything was so predictable.
54:58I don't play for the Eagles, but I can tell you every play based on everybody's alignment. I shouldn't be able to do that. So if I'm doing it and I ain't watching no film on you and I'm just watching you every Sunday, what do you think the people you're playing against able to do?
55:13Shannon Sharpe:Only two people getting goal balls, Ocho. Devontae Smith or A.J. Brown. The only two that are getting goal balls. and they line up in the same place when it's coming yep same thing that's it they're only two game goalballs I just think the thing is Ocho here's Sariani's response when he was asked about the altercation with AJ let's take a listen to what he had to say yeah you know I was trying to get him off the field you know because we were about to punt and that was really it yeah so i love aj i think he knows how i feel about him um i have a special relationship with him we've we've probably went through every emotion you can possibly have together uh we've laughed together we've cried together we've yelled at each other um you know we're both emotional i was trying to get him off the field and you know you never want you know that happens in this game that happens in this game and but i love him hey you know what's funny too long before i let you go about that is a lot of people in the chat you look at stuff like that and you see it happen on the sideline a coach and a player going at it and I don't think people understand how much this actually happens most of the time it's not caught on camera sometimes it's in practice very few times has it ever been caught on camera I want everybody in the chat that's that's listening and I know the altercation it looks bad especially on AJ on AJ Brown's part remember and I know you can remember this please tell me y 'all remember the cussing match between bill o 'brien and tom brady and tom brady oh yeah classic classic a classic moment in a game in which emotions were high logic was low there was a disagreement whatever it may have been yeah you know but they going at it that happens that's a part of the game and it always has been it just it doesn't get caught on camera as often.
57:09And so everybody is always up in arms about it.
57:14Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Joe, I know how I am. I know how I am. So if the coaches say something, I just keep going. Because you're going to snap, huh? Here's golf legend John Daly. Go to work, grab the kids at school, get the groceries, and still have enough charge to visit your in-laws in the next county.

1:01:23Shannon Sharpe:And they know, hey. normally normally if Mike said something or BP called down because my position coach would be up in the booth Kul, Mike, Alex Gibbs, Alex said something I just keep walking because I already know how I am so probably about the series go by Kul but you good? 84 you good? I'm like I'm Don't worry about it. We all right. You good. Because I know how I am, Mocho. I already see if you know you. You prevent it. You don't want confrontation, especially not in that controlled environment. Not in that environment. Not in that environment. Hold on. No, no. I just keep on walking. I know I've messed up.
1:02:15Shannon Sharpe:I was never one of those ones, you know, to walk off the field situations like that. But, you know, you miss a block or something like that, or you drop a crucial pass on third down or something like that. Yeah, I'm already mad at myself. And here you go. And then you're going to come to my, you got to catch that. You about to catch these hands, what you about to catch. That's what you about to catch. Tell the chat, tell the chat when Kevin Green snatched up. Was it Kevin Green that snatched up his position coach? Was it Kevin Green? Yeah. I forgot who it was. It's on film. his coach came and said something to him damn was it Kevin when he was at Carolina?
1:02:56Yes when he was at Carolina coach came over there and said something man Kevin Greener snatched the coach up man by the collar I'm like what the hell
1:03:06Shannon Sharpe:well you saw when Buddy Ryan punched Kevin Gilbrow huh? on the field yeah on the sideline hell nah Buddy asked me, why are you throwing the ball? Pop. No, look, if you really go back and look at the Eagle fans, and I think Eagle fans will attest to this, the Eagles never looked good this year. They were winning games in spite of how bad their offense played. And that's the thing. And the people are going to like, well, who are you going to put this blame on? the defense I mean at some point in time Ocho the defense gonna
1:03:54Shannon Sharpe:defense can only do so much I mean Ocho we have them 23 points and they scored the way they had 16 and so
1:04:07Shannon Sharpe:no 23 to 19 and so they scored a touchdown because what was it it was 17 so at one point in time, we had him at 17 until about a minute ago. Damn, man. And we got two takeaways from him. That sucks, man. Damn, that sucks. Look, a lot of times coaches don't like to make changes during the season. And he didn't want to get rid of Kevin. That's his buddy, huh? That's his buddy. Hey, all my buddies run rabbits and eat poop out the garbage. So you know what my dogs are. But anyway, Ocho, I think the thing is, I don't see a scenario where he's back. Not in the role. He's not calling. They need a new offensive coordinator.
1:04:59Shannon Sharpe:They need somebody with imagination. A creative mind. They had that with Kellen Moore. They had that with Shane Steichen. And I think if they get somebody back with that, they've got a lot of decisions to make you know Jordan Davis played well you got Carter you know you got those two those two DBs gonna be coming up real soon they gonna want paydays it is tough I mean pretty soon Jalen Hurst you gonna have to do something with Jalen because his cap number is about to be so high so what you thinking Ocho what do you think the Eagles do where do the Eagles go from here? I don't know. I think A.J.
1:05:42Brown is going to be somewhere else. Wherever he goes, he is still a top talent. I think he's going to go somewhere where they'll be able to utilize him a little bit more, allow him to be a little bit more involved in that offense because he's an impact player. He's not just a receiver. He's wide receiver number one. He just is. I don't want to blame Petulo. I don't want to blame the offense and the lack of creativity, but he can be used in so many different ways instead of You know, I know what happened tonight, you know, being able to make those catches in the right time for your team in those special moments.
1:06:18But in general, he was already out of his groove. He was in no type of rhythm. But again, you still have to catch the ball. But as wide receiver number one, and I'm not making excuses for him, you know, tonight's performance was unacceptable. It was unacceptable on the simple fact that you were angry that you're not getting the ball. And when the opportunities did come to you, you didn't make those plays. But I mean he'll be somewhere else and they will bring someone else in I think Smitty probably gonna go to wide receiver number one and they probably will They probably will bring in another another another receiver who I'm not sure Shoot maybe maybe George Pickens
1:06:56Shannon Sharpe:That was a let that I me personally Ocho, I think they're gonna we can talk about this later if you like I think they put the tag on join him just until they can figure out what they're going to do. Because, Ochoa, I can't let him hit the market. Because somebody will give him more money. If I let him hit the market, Ochoa, somebody's going to pay him more and I can't match him. That's the whole point. Don't be mean. Don't be rude. Don't take away the man's true value. Let him go get his money. Everyone else that was in his receiver class, they got their money. Let him get his money. Don't try to keep him in lowballing.
1:07:34You already have wide receiver number one in CeeDee Lamb. Let pick flourish. Come on. That's why I need to be the president of the NFLPA.
1:07:48Shannon Sharpe:It's too late. It's too late. They got agreement. This is agreement until 30. So, yeah. That's the first thing that needs to be on the table, getting rid of the franchise tag. They're going to say we're going to get rid of the franchise tag, but we want another game. Okay, we need another game. Give us guarantee. contracts. No, we ain't doing that. That's why you need me in there. Put me in there. I play hardball with him. Put a shoe to tie on me. I get us what we need. We need somebody as the president of the NFLPA that's going to fight for the players. I understand that, Ocho. But banks and financial institutions will forego an annual, a monthly payment by these leads.
1:08:36Shannon Sharpe:They not letting you go for that. People got houses. People got kids that's in private school. They got upkeep and maintenance that they got to take care of. See, why these owners got these buildings, got these things, and see, I ain't got no money going out because I ain't got to pay you because you ain't coming to work. But I still got to pay on this. I got to pay this loan on this building. So I'm going to tell them, and they're going to say, you know what? Mr. Jones, Mr. Craft, Mr. Lurie, Mr. Hunt. Fine. Fine. we'll charge you extra 5%, but get it to us when you can. Your bank, not going to do that.
1:09:15So,
1:09:16Shannon Sharpe:we're looking at a situation. Most guys don't have the means, and that's why I'm saying when it's coming up, if I was in the role, and I don't want the role, I'd say, look guys, in order for us to get to what we want, I'm going to need you guys to not make any big purchases. Meaning, no new cars, no new homes, no upgrades. Hey, stay married. If you are married, stay married. And I need you to save. Because in order for us to get what baseball and what basketball got, you got to be willing to miss checks. You got to. baseball players shut it down. They said there ain't going to be no World Series.
1:10:06Shannon Sharpe:There ain't going to be no playoffs. And they got what they wanted. NBA said we shut it down. Hey, y 'all do what y 'all want. But I know we ain't going to. Hey, Unc, you got to have all 15, 1600 players on board. That's going to be hard, boy. But even if you do, what happened? If you go back, and I'm not going to call it a name. Let me tell you what happened. A lot of those guys that are big, big names, they join the replacements. They cross the picket line. And the fans don't care as long as... I can put Jordan in the Cowboy uniform and they're going to cheer for him. So they don't care. It's not like...
1:10:46Shannon Sharpe:See, football... See, in basketball, we got players. No matter where, Shohei go. Shohei, Shohei, Shohei, yeah, yeah, yeah. NFL, you lead their team. I'm loyal to the Cowboys I'm loyal to the Patriots I'm loyal to the Steelers that's how the fans think that's how the fans think LeBron fans are going to follow him well will he go to Cleveland okay you go to Miami okay you go back to Cleveland okay you go okay not like that in the NFL and the owners know it and the owners have convinced the fans they sell yeah that we we selfish and the funny thing about it is i understand how business work i understand the business side of things huh i get it which is why the way for me to ignore it and not have to deal with it is i'm gonna go out here and have fun i'm gonna go out and have fun and i know dallas uh you think about dallas cowboy fans oh joe just won't pick the goal no yes I want him to go I want him to be able to go and get his money his true value they only care because he's a cowboy they don't care about him getting his money that's why they keep arguing and fussing about it all the time they just want him there so they want him there for selfish reasons I want him to go get paid and oh Jerry gonna tag him do y 'all not realize what the tag means you know Jerry gonna play with him because you already got to pay back and you're paying CD already.
1:12:26So you already know what Jerry finna do. Why even waste time? Why even play that game? Why even want to go down that road? You already know what type of time he on. Man, get me up out of here, man. He picked lucky I'm not his agent. Because your franchise tagged me, we ain't signing shit.
1:12:46Shannon Sharpe:Well, we just got to tag on him just so we can work out a long time. But you know the problem you're going to run into, Ocho. He's going to get more than CD. Man, CD will flip that goddamn star upside down. Ocho, you mean to tell me I made the Pro Bowl? He didn't this year. I'm an all-pro. He isn't this year. And he signed that deal two years ago. You think I'm going to take less? Let's be for real. Now, it'll be hell on wheels in that goddamn organization. You come around and you play like that. You know that. Come on now. Well, I got lemonade flip-flops and a tank top on. Well, it's going to be hell.
1:13:33Shannon Sharpe:And I'm the devil. And I ain't doing a mofo thing until I get my brain. Come on now. You know. You know how this game is. You know how wide receivers think. I do. Now, you come. You. What? We. okay you know what let me calm down because i'm about to get upset and it just ain't it's ain't about me cd lamb is why i receive a number one you know how you say quarterbacks they don't like other quarterbacks coming in the building because they don't want yes this this is almost like that you can't bring another receiver in and pay him more money when no no that they I don't know what to tell you, Ocho.
1:14:16Ocho, Ocho, I can't take less.
1:14:20Shannon Sharpe:If I take less, CD signed that contract two years ago. This is about to be the third year, Ocho, and you want me to take less money? You do realize how Ocho, Pick is like 25. Yeah, Pick young. I know young. And, Ocho, guess what? I ain't got no more years on my contract. they did CD contract and CD still had years to go I'm at that period on my contract so I need all that it ain't gonna happen well I gotta go yeah yeah yeah he gonna go he gonna go cause I need 37 37 37 what 37 man man pick hit the market man he get by 3940 man that's what that's what i'm saying stop playing but but i that's what i don't know see but that's what i'm saying dallas want him but i can't take no 30 million when i know i i know that's seven eight nine million less than market value please jerry better stop playing if you listen they already have cd lamb why are they being greedy why are you being greedy cd is your number one you can still fill another spot in some complimentary receivers they might not be picked they won't be picked but he's a special talent allow a special talent to go have his own team and we got no I can't do that Ocho unfortunately nah I'm sorry wait who side you on you on the owner side or the player side I'm for pick okay okay okay but it don't sound like it I am Ocho I'm Ocho I just told you what pick is going to be looking for to stay in Dallas he'll be willing to I believe he'll be willing to take three, four million dollars less because listen to me, listen to me, listen to me, because it's a state with no income tax.
1:16:19Shannon Sharpe:So let's just say I go somewhere also and I get 40 million there. I would take 37 because I'm making the same thing right here because no state income tax. Did you hear what you just said? Yes. Picking worried about no goddamn no state income tax. He's not giving the people no goddamn pay cut on his first deal. Ocho. And I had to wait. Listen to what I'm saying. So if you make$40 million in California and I make$37 million in Texas, who do you think bringing home the most money? I hear what you're saying. It sounds good. It sounds good, but you sit here explaining it in context form. I get your perspective.
1:17:05George Pickens ain't taking no$4 million left just to stay in goddamn he's going to get his true value and what he's worth this is the only time he's going to be able to get it
1:17:19Shannon Sharpe:I'm not saying I won't pick to get his money but I'm what I'm saying is and a lot of what we're talking about we're talking the same thing I'm just putting out scenarios I believe I believe pick is going to want more than CD.
1:17:40Shannon Sharpe:Now, that's going to be a problem. You know that. That's why I know it's not going to happen there. That's all I'm saying. Jerry knows that. That's bad business. Jerry, Jerry is not letting pick hit the market. He's going to put the tag on him and they're going to try to work out something long term. I'm just the tag is available they're going to fall out they're going to fall out because David Mulaghetta is not going for it George Pink is not going for it they're going to fall out I'm telling you ahead of time they're going to fall out you tag me don't tag me for what? because you know you're not going to give me my true value allow me to go about my business and get what I've earned elsewhere where I can have my own team I mean, that's it.
1:18:30Shannon Sharpe:I mean, I agree with everything that you're saying. Everything. I won't pick to get paid. He deserves. He's he don't deserve anything. Earn. Yeah. He earned the right to get paid. And I believe he's only going to get better. I me. Oh, Joe. I prefer he get thirty nine, forty million there because he's from he's in a system. and they see what he can do and they're going to get him the ball. So which one of y 'all want to get? Double CD if you want to, I'm going to cook you. Okay, double pick if you want to, CD going to eat in the slot. And Lanoi came on, Ocho. I don't know if you noticed that. Yeah.
1:19:21Shannon Sharpe:Got better and better. Got better and better. Their issue, Ocho, and what I really need is defense. I got to get me a Hellraiser. I need a Hellraiser edge. You need more than that. Let's start with that. Let's start with that. Yes, you need corners. You need middle backers. But you need somebody that can win right now. All right. you gotta think Miles Garrett is off the table is there any way I can go get a Miles Crosby Max Crosby is he available but you're not gonna be the only one that's in the running for it the Eagles need an edge too
1:20:21damn
1:20:23Shannon Sharpe:there gonna be a lot of teams that need an edge and going to be willing to give up compensation because is he that one piece? Now, I'm getting him out of the if all things, I'm trying, I'm not getting I'm not letting him stay in the division. I'm trying to get him out of the AFC to be honest with you. Listen, I already told you last night. I told you last night. Every take I've had when I came to football, I've always been right. Especially when I speak it into existence. The tongue is powerful. that's why you got to be careful what you speak of but I'm going to tell you what we're going to hear next year maybe on Fox maybe on CBS Max Bronsby going to Cincinnati not that part Fernando Mendoza throws a touchdown to George Pickens I'm going to let the chat put that together alright I'm telling you
1:21:21yeah
1:21:22Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
1:21:26Shannon Sharpe:You going to put who you up? So if you had to blame somebody, you willing to put blame on somebody, who's responsible for this loss? Oh, that's tough. You know what? Most of the time, just like any other team, when they don't have success in the playoff, there are a lot of coaches that have gotten fired because they didn't win. John Harbaugh got fired because the Ravens lost. So the onus at the end of the day is on Sirianni. because we've had these issues all season long. And the necessary changes that needed to be made, like maybe replacing the coordinator or maybe Sirianni taking over the coaching call, the office of play calling.
1:22:03I mean, anything could have been done, but nobody did anything. Nothing changed. So they've had those same inconsistencies all season long. Defense was stout all year. There's only so much they can do.
1:22:16Shannon Sharpe:I thought defense played well. There's only so much they can do.
1:22:22Shannon Sharpe:they gave a couple of big plays. I mean, I was like, damn, Eagles. Because the first drive, the 49ers get the ball and march right down the damn field. I was like, well, damn. They were killing with the over route. Marcus Robinson called it. Juwan Jennings called it. I was like, well, damn. Are y 'all going to cover the over route? Look, that last, that last,
1:22:47Shannon Sharpe:the option route, kind of like what McCaffrey ran, there's nothing that Kobe could do about that. At all. Because C-Mac pressed him hard and then pivoted. We call it a whip rod, Ocho. Hey, what you going to do about that, Ocho? He running hard. You're like, well, damn, I don't want him to beat me to the flat and turn back inside. I think, matter of fact, he'll probably beat most DBs in space like that. Oh, yeah, for sure. He beat most DBs in space like that. So, I mean, a linebacker, that's a complete and utterly mismatch. he's winning that 10 times out of 10 because he has a two you know he has a two way option if you leverage me inside I'm going to break away from you if you overplay me I'm going to break inside that would not it seemed like Dean was playing like I don't know if Dean had a man or drop into a zone but when C-Mac pressed him hard outside he's like oh hell he about to try to get to the plan came right back underneath ain't nothing you can do unless somebody gets the only way it can help you Lima get their hands up that's it that's all you got
