In short
Nightcap Hour 1 focuses on NBA playoff positioning and injuries, plus a guest interview. The hosts debate the Knicks’ 112-106 thriller over the Celtics, arguing New York stayed composed after leading by 12 and Boston’s late run.
Key claims
the Knicks needed the win because Jalen Brown was out; Josh Hart’s 15 points in the fourth (including two “dagger” threes) swung the game; and the Celtics’ bench scoring (Pritchard, Hauser, and especially “Schadenheimer”/Sharpshooter off the bench) will matter in the postseason. Notable examples include Brunson’s 25 points and 10 assists, Tatum’s 24/13/8, and the Knicks’ tiebreaker advantage via a 3-1 head-to-head season series.
Next, they cover the Rockets beating the 76ers 113-102, ending Philly’s playoff push momentum.
Key claims
Joel Embiid is out after appendectomy surgery in Houston and could miss about a week; Philly’s offense becomes stagnant without him; and Maxey/Edwards/Edgecombe production changes when Embiid sits.
Guest
Kayden (Caden) McDonald, a 6’2”, 326-pound projected first-round defensive lineman from North Gwinnett/Ohio State, described as a unanimous All-American, Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, and Outland Trophy finalist. He credits “opportunity” and treating each play as a chance, and compares his style to Aaron Donald and Cam Heyward.

The Knicks stay alive in the race for the number two seed in the East by beating the Celtics 112-106. Jason Tate has returned to Madison Square Garden, where last year during the playoffs he tore his Achilles. Josh Hart scored 15 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, hit two dagger three-point shots to give Boston a six-point win. Jalen Brunson, 25 points, 10 assists.
10:18Shannon Sharpe:JT, Jason Tatum, finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists. The Knicks pulled within two games of the Celtics with two games to play for both teams. The Knicks own the tiebreaker because they beat the Celtics head-to-head 3-1. And they beat the number two seed with two wins and two Boston losses. So Boston wins one game. They host New Orleans on Friday and Orlando on Sunday. So if they win one of these final two games, they are the number two seed. The Knicks, I believe, will be the number three seed if they win out. The Knicks host Toronto on Friday and close out against Charlotte on Sunday.
10:56Shannon Sharpe:Joe, watching this game, look, the Knicks were ahead comfortably. They were ahead by 12 points at one point in time. And the next thing you know, Boston ended up having a six-point lead. Charmin got hot from three. JT hit a couple of threes. Pritchett hit a couple of threes. But, Joe, what did you like about what you saw from the Knicks? having the lead, giving up the lead, and then finding a way to win this ballgame.
11:15Chad Johnson:Well, they knew that, you know, with Boston being without J.B., Jalen Brown, okay, Ocho, you got to take advantage of that, bro. Now, I know you ain't looking at the scouting report and saying Schadenheimer going to go 7 for 8 from the field, 6 for 7 for 3. You know what I mean? But, boy, hey, he caught fire. I like how Tatum played. Obviously, you know, he was ultra aggressive. You look at Peyton Pritchard and them guys coming off the bench, man, they going to be, ooh. Boston's going to be something else in the postseason, man. When they fully healthy, they can beat anybody in the East. As a matter of fact, they could potentially come out of the East.
11:55Chad Johnson:You know, I'm talking about a team that's tested. Tatum getting more comfortable. Yeah, yeah, Tatum getting more comfortable, you know, and his ability to get back to where he was playing championship caliber basketball. Man, it was fun to watch, but New York, man, they made some runs. I thought Brunson played great. Towns picked it up. If it weren't for Josh Hart, they wouldn't have won their game tonight.
12:21Shannon Sharpe:He hit two big threes. Look, if that means, and you see what they did. They got the ball out of Jalen Brunson's hand. If somebody else beat a guy, I can farm a little with that. I just know Jalen Brunson ain't going to hit no shots. Hey, if Josh Hart hits those and he hits two, I mean, he stepped up. Now, the first one he hit, the clock was kind of running back down. But that last one that he hit, he shot down with confidence. He said, come here, Bruce, bitch, I got you last time. I'm going to get you here. And he held it up there. Hey. So I like what I saw also. Ocho, what you think? What you think about the Knicks and the Celtics tonight?
12:58Listen, nobody really likes my basketball take, but I'm going to give you one anyway. Yeah, we like it.
13:02Chad Johnson:We like your basketball take. Hey, I appreciate it, Joe. But obviously, listen, the game of basketball, what I've come to learn in my short time of learning the game, it's a game of runs, Joe and Uncle. You know, just like football. It's all about momentum. Obviously, in this game, the Celtics win on runs and obviously the Knicks win on runs. And I think for the Knicks' sake, their sake, with JB not playing, they really needed this game. And Josh Hart stepped up. If I'm not mistaken, the last game he played, he only had, what, two, maybe three points or something like that for the fact that he was able to step up and hit those big shots when they needed it most.
13:35and I think the Celtics did a good job getting the ball out of Brunson's hands. And like Unc said, if other players, the supporting cast for the Knicks is going to hit those shots, you're just going to have to be able to live with that. But when you look at it, Unc and Ocho,
13:51Chad Johnson:Boston didn't really shoot the ball great outside of, what's his name, Schadenheimer? Schadenheimer. Schadenheimer coming off the bench. You know, he was unconscious. And Peyton Pritchard shot 50%, But Tatum 7 for 22. And when you look at the Knicks, man, they were, I mean, they shot the cover off the ball. Brunson shot it with 54%. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, you know, it ain't going to be many games that Josh Hart going to lead them Knicks in scoring. Matter of fact, hell, this might be the only game he'd have done it all season if we just keep it 100. You know what I mean? So, yeah. Boston is in a good spot, man.
14:29Chad Johnson:They in a good spot. They ain't worried about nothing. They sitting comfortably, and when they get healthy going into the postseason, you don't want to see them bored, man.
14:41Shannon Sharpe:I think when you look at the bench points, they got 53 points from the bench. You look at Sharman, he had 20. He's 7 of 8 from the floor, 6 of 7 from 3. You look at Pritchett, 10 of 20 from the floor, 3 of 8 from 3. Vucevic, 4 of 7 from the floor, 2 of 4 from 3. I think they're going to need a little bit more from Derrick White. The last couple of games, Joe, he's kind of been hit or miss. when he's in double figures because you know what jb and jt gonna give you on a daily basis you know pritchard what he's gonna give you he's averaging 16 point basically 17 points a game whether he's in the starting lineup or he's coming off the bench so i i'm penciling in him somewhere between 15 and 20 points that's what i'm penciling uh uh if he gives me more than that i love it i'm not counting on him giving me less than 15 but if he gives me more than 20 i'll graciously accept it But somewhere in that 15 to 20 ballpark, that's normally what he does.
15:32Shannon Sharpe:Now, my big guns, I'm going to need those guys to go off on a consistent basis. One or the other. I love to have both of them do it. Yeah. But Hauser didn't shoot the ball well tonight. Like you said, I'm not counting on shots, but he can let it go now. I don't know how many games you watched him, but that left-handed joker can let that ball fly.
15:52Chad Johnson:Man, he look good tonight, fella. I'm talking about.
15:54Shannon Sharpe:I mean, he would come. Hey, Joe, he would let that thing go and turn around to the crowd. Yeah.
15:59Chad Johnson:Hey, look, because playing in New York, that's like playing in L.A. Guys get up for those games. You know what I'm saying? They look free. It brings the best out of you. And you could tell the night he got it going and he started talking to the crowd. He really started feeling himself. And it was fun to watch him get on the heater like that. And I'm like, man, listen, if he can get him some consistency like this, I ain't saying he going to go six for seven from the field and be that efficient. But, man, if you can be a reliable guy we can go to when JB or JT get in double team, you know, down the stretch or just throughout the game, I think he can definitely be beneficial for the Celtics.
16:42Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, but that's the thing. Their bench is outstanding because normally you'll probably, I mean, Houser, somebody's going to be coming up the bench. You know Pritchard is coming up the bench. You know Shireman's coming up the bench. And you know both of these guys can get on heaters. Pritchard can do it all. Pritchard drive the ball. He got a nice minute. Hey, he can put the shoulder into your bump. He can snatch. He can shoot the three ball. He's great in all aspects. Sharman is looking to shoot the three ball. Howes is looking to shoot the three ball. Although Howes, we saw Howes the other night, he put the ball on the floor and got to the midi.
17:13Shannon Sharpe:He was letting it go. But when those big two, I believe if everybody plays their best basketball in the Eastern Conference, if everybody plays to their capabilities, I don't believe a team can beat the Boston Celtics. That's just me, Joe. You might think Detroit can do it. You might think the Knicks can do it. You think the Cavaliers. Now, I don't think there are no unbeatables in the Eastern Conference. I don't think Boston's unbeatable. I don't think Detroit's unbeatable. I don't think the Cavs are unbeatable. I don't think the Knicks are unbeatable. Okay, I just wanted you to clarify that. You said nobody can beat the Boston Celtics when they're on full field.
17:45I think if everybody plays their A game. Out of the East, you meant?
17:48Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Out of the East. Okay, okay, okay. I think if everybody plays their A game in the Eastern Conference, I think Boston's the best team in the Eastern Conference. That's just me, Joe. What do you think, Joe? I totally agree with you.
17:59Chad Johnson:Now, if Tatum wasn't back, I wouldn't say that. But since Tatum has came back, and obviously it was question marks because we didn't know how he was going to look coming back, you know, in such a short time and in such a short stint. Go ahead, Ocho. What you got? Hold on. Hold on, Uncle Joe. You heard what y 'all just said? What? Y 'all said if Tatum didn't come back, y 'all wouldn't still feel the same way about the Celtics. No, I wouldn't.
Read the full transcript
18:25Shannon Sharpe:No, because everybody else got two guys that can go off. You still got Brunson and Cat can go off. You got Harden and you got Donovan Mitchell can go off. You got Cade Cunningham and you got Durin can go off. I know those are guys that have been all-stars, that have been all-NBA selection players. With Jason Tatum back, now you got JB and JT. Both guys have been Eastern Conference MVPs. JB has been an MVP of the finals. And you have guys, those role players. Now, I believe the Boston Celtics have the deepest bench. Oh, no question. When you look at what they have, they got Pritchard, they got Shireman, and they got other guys.
18:59Shannon Sharpe:I think they have the best bench. And those two proven guys, JB and JT are the most proven come playoff time based on what they've done getting to an NBA Finals and winning an NBA Finals. Okay, but I have a question, though, Uncle Joe. Listen, before JT came back, let's look at what the Celtics were with just Jalen Brown at the helm, holding the ship, steering the ship, keeping that ship afloat. Before Jason Tatum came back, the goddamn Celtics were still second in the eighth. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. So you still don't have confidence in them still being able to come out to East if they were already second and Jason Tatum wasn't clean?
19:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I saw them last year. They were number one seed and got what happened with JB and JT and what happened? They was losing. And people look at it like when JT went down, they was getting smoked before he got wet down. The Knicks was kicking their ass.
19:46Chad Johnson:And when you look at it, Ocho, if you just got JB out there by himself with no Tatum, man, you can kind of, you can kind of, yeah, you can load up and control the game, double him on pick and rolls, double him when he cross half court and make these other guys beat you. Now, when you got two guys who could go for 40, 50 points on any given night, now you got your hands full. You know what I mean? He got plenty of help. And you know, JB a two-way player, bro, so he going to expend a lot of energy on both ends of the court. You know what I mean? So, he ain't going, his game ain't just predicated off making shots.
20:19Chad Johnson:You know what I'm saying? he going to be disruptive defensively. He going to be in the passing lane. He going to get steals. He going to pick you up full court. But he can only do all of that if he has another counterpart who he know he can rely on, which is Jason Taylor. Somebody that can help you to load on offense.
20:36Shannon Sharpe:There you go. Because you got to realize, if they're playing Cleveland, he's going to have to take James Harden to Donald Mitchell. Jerry White's going to take the other, but he's got to take one of those guys. He's probably going to have to do they put, the question is do they put him on k or do they put jb on k i think they i i mean derrick white so he's gonna have to he's gonna have to do something with one of those and so when you deal with and brunson you'd probably put derrick white on brunson uh to try to tire him down but you probably have to miss you know run you know do some different things because i think the thing once you get to this level those guys you can't give a guy a steady diet of anything right they'll It's like medicine.
21:18Shannon Sharpe:If you continuously take a dose of medicine, you'll build up a resistance to it. And you got to take stronger and stronger doses of it. If you throw these great players the continuous same look and have a guard, guard them the same way, these guys are too good. That's just like a guy would line up like the Raiders. We played the Raiders of Kansas City. You already know what they're going to do. What are they going to do, Ocho? Right here in your face, man to man. They ain't going to hell. They ain't going to the huddle. Like, bro, just show them to the huddle. They're telling you the defense. They're like, nah, I'm defending you.
21:44Shannon Sharpe:I got you, and he got him. They clear you man football, Joe. You got that man.
21:50Chad Johnson:Hey, look. But you know, that's how JB going to play. If they play against Cleveland, he going to guard James Harden. He going to pick him up full court, kind of like he did Luka in the finals that year, and kind of wear him down. Yes. You know what I mean? JB understands. He understands his road to the tee, bro. He know offensively, you know, he going to get anywhere from 22 to 35 a night. I know it's a big gap, but anywhere from 22 to 35 a night. But he's also going to make it hell on one of your toughest offensive players. You know, meaning picking him up full court the whole game. And then by the fourth quarter, hopefully he done died down a little bit.
22:26Chad Johnson:You done worn him out. So Boston got a good strategy, bro. I like Boston. With Tatum back, looking the way he's looking.
22:35Shannon Sharpe:But that's the luxury of having, Joe, two guys. Because if you go back and look at the Bulls, what did they have? Yes, sir. They had a 6 '7 long-arm defender that could guard anybody from Magic to Isaiah to Gary Payton to Kevin Johnson. It did not matter. And so Clyde Drexler. So Jordan could take somewhat of a break on defense. Colby, who'd he have? He had Bishaw. He had Rick Fox. He had Mehta. LeBron, he had Shane Battier. Or he had Richard Jefferson. Or he had JR. so when you when you have someone that's like okay they got defenders over there now there have been times that look he just had to deal with kd he had to deal he had at some point in time in the fourth quarter he got to deal with kd or some point time in the fourth quarter he got to deal with kawaii that's just the way it is when the rubber needs to meet the road hey i i appreciate what y 'all been doing thank you very much but i'm here from here yeah and and i think that's the luxury that the Celtics have that very few teams have.
23:41Shannon Sharpe:I mean, they got guys that can score, but you got a Derrick White and you got a JB that has no problem taking the tough defensive assignment because they understand. Let me do all we can. And they'll trade off. Hey, you'll see Derrick White try to deal with hard. You'll see JB try to slow down Mitch and vice versa to keep him giving him different looks. Hey, guess what? We're traveling. We're blushing. We want to get the ball out. Hey, We're going to make it swing it. But it's going to be a great matchup to see how this thing shakes out when it's all said and done. Because we kind of know like the top four, we'll see what Orlando can do.
24:20Shannon Sharpe:We'll see what Toronto can do and see how this thing plays at the bottom. I think this year I would have a little bit more confidence had Boncaro played a little bit better and they had Wagner throughout the entirety of the season. but they haven't, they've kind of been up and down all year long. Toronto's kind of been the same. Toronto's gone on a stretch where they've won six, seven games in a row and then all of a sudden they fall by the wayside. But they still got B.I., they got Scarlett Barnes, they got guys that can do a little bit of something. But I still say if everybody plays their A game, I think Boston's the best.
24:56Chad Johnson:Yeah, you're right. I mean, even if you look back on those Bulls teams, especially in 91, is that when they played the Lakers' Magic now in the finals? Yes. If you go back, Ocho, and you watch the Bulls in 91 when they played the Lakers in the finals, watch how Jordan and Scottie Pippen guarded Magic Johnson, bro. They picked him up full court, and they wore him down, bro. And that's the same thing that Buster has right now with Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum. You know what I'm saying? They understand their role. they understand they both pack a punch offensively, but defensively is where they got to hang their head and where ultimately, you know, they're going to be able to win ballgames.
25:38Chad Johnson:Because if I'm scoring 30 and I'm giving up 30, hell, that's a wash. You know what I mean? That ain't what they want. That ain't what they want.
25:48Shannon Sharpe:Well, if you remember, Joe, in game one, Jordan tried to guard Magic. They won game one. The Lakers won game one. Yeah. Then Phil put Magic on Pippen. on Magic. And Pippen picked him on full court. Because now we got somebody that's 6 '7", that's long-limbed. See, if athletic as Jordan is, you got to realize Magic's still 6 '9". And Magic had to, at that point in time, Magic had developed that baby Scott hook. So now he gets you down on the block, you had his mercy. You had his mercy. And they still had big game James Worthy. So it was, and they's like, you know what, hey, Scotty. because Scott didn't realize that he wasn't going to have to handle the offensive load.
26:33Shannon Sharpe:You're asking George to exert a lot, to take their best player on one end while still giving you the same production on the other end. That's an awful lot.
26:43Chad Johnson:It is. Those guys were determined back then, man. They was going to make it happen. They was going to do whatever they had to.
26:50Shannon Sharpe:For sure. And then you had Ron. No, Ron was in the second one. But you had Grant. So you had another defender. and so that's what normally the really good teams do they have multiple defenders that's what makes okc so good yeah they've got three four five wing defenders that they can throw at you they just keep running them they just keep running them at you hey eventually you're gonna wear it out ain't no way
27:16Chad Johnson:you're gonna be no no sir you're right okc that's that's definitely how they play that's how they played over the past i would probably say three years arcan also they've been consistent yes they've been consistent with that although those guys can score the ball they know in order for them to win man they got to sit in their chair and guard their ball you know and and they do it they do it with the best of them when people turn to health care for weight loss they're looking for real support that's why more people are choosing orderlymeds.com orderly meds connects you with real doctors and access to proven glp1 medications like semaglutide and terzepatide no guessing just a more supportive experience and all shipped directly to your door in discreet packaging.

We have one man who, upon hearing that he was going to be fired, freaked out, and apparently climbed out the window of the bathroom. And was Daniel Ricciardo's illustrious F1 career a success story, a cautionary tale, or some combination of both? On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer...
31:08Football... ...is a story we've shared for over 30 years, since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. and I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, its beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer is the most important. Listen to The Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
31:42Shannon Sharpe:Kevin Durant scored 29 points as the Rockets beat the 76ers 113-102 for the eighth straight win. Philly was missing Joel Embiid after he had an appendectomy. The 76ers, who was fighting for a playoff spot, would be without Embiid indefinitely. He had surgery in Houston on Thursday after being stricken with appendicitis overnight. The Sixers have lost three straight and dropped into a tie with Charlotte for the eighth seed in the East. Joel Embiid is just like, you know what? he might as well just call him Slept Rock. I don't know if y 'all remember the cartoon Slept Rock where every time he come around, bad stuff just start happening.
32:21Yeah. Hey, that appendectomy, you're not out that long with that, though, huh?
32:28Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, you're going to be there for a minute, boy. They got to go inside and get them things up out. Damn. That's your appendices, yeah. They open you up, Mocho. Yeah, I know they open you up, but I'm just saying the time that he has to miss. Obviously, he'll be back. It's not too long. Probably a week. Okay, that's not bad. That's not bad. As long as it's not a significant amount of time, especially with him getting ready for the playoffs. I think the thing, Ocho, is that, Joe, is that it seems like every time this time of year is something. You remember last year it was his knee, and it's been his knee, and it's been his back, and it's been his ankle.
33:06Shannon Sharpe:And like I said, I've never seen anybody with – the only people that I've seen with more stomach issues than Joel Embiid is babies. I ain't never seen nobody have issues like him. It's something I don't know what's going on. I'm saying that tongue-in-cheek, but he's had issues with his stomach before. Appendicitis, there's nothing you can do. I heard it's very painful from people that have had it. It's like, oh, bro, they got you. Hey, if they have you doubled up, and clearly you do emergency surgery. But it's just like it's one thing after another. I don't know. I'm trying to think the time, maybe once in his career, that he's entered the postseason and he's been healthy.
33:41Shannon Sharpe:in his career, and he's been in the league 10 years. One time of all those years, because we see what he – Boy, when he's healthy the regular season, that joke alone. He's the head to deal with. That joke alone. Hold on. Has there been a season – if he's been in the league 10 years, I'm not sure how many years he's been in the league, has he had a complete season where he's been able to play an 82-game season? He ain't going to play 82 games. He ain't going to ever play 82 games. Yeah, because of the size. There was a couple of seasons, Ocho, where – Joe, when you remember that he was having MVP caliber year, he ended up winning one that he was playing probably 68, 70 games.
34:17Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Okay. Okay. But then come playoff time, knee, because remember last year, he was like, what was it, last year or two years ago that he was like barely getting, that might have been, was that last year? Might have been last year. Might have been two years ago that he was like 30, looked like he was about 40 percent. But when he's healthy, and that's a big win, and that's probably why they haven't enjoyed the success that they wanted to have, even when Harden was there, because he couldn't stay healthy. And then when they had Ben Simmons, he had some issues, and then Ben had the issue with the Hawks, and they had the issue with the Hawks, and they ended up losing to the Hawks in seven games.
35:02Shannon Sharpe:And I said that they're never going to be the same. It's over for them. They're going to break that team up. I said, Joel, Ben Simmons, come on. for Doc to say what he said for Joel to say what he said I said it you don't know what you're talking about and then Philly you know how internet is man they had a trash can going down it was flooded and there was a trash can and people talking about this Ben Simmons I said oh yeah it's definitely over now that's what he gets the baby you gotta trust the process
35:32Chad Johnson:the process is over with that process is over with hey listen And this is what I'm talking about. This is what I'm talking about, though. When Embiid don't play, you look at Max and Edgecombe numbers, they be totally different, bro. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because Embiid is a ball stopper, Uncle Ocho, meaning there is not a lot of movement. Yeah, he going to get you 25, 35 points a night, but the rest of these dudes around him, they ain't going to really be doing a whole lot. You know what I mean? Because he's so stagnant offensively, and there's no rhythm, there's no flow. So, you know, you got a rookie like Edgecombe who thrives in transition.
36:10Chad Johnson:You ain't going to get many transition buckets, bro. You know what I mean? You saying Embiid taking up space? I'm saying because he's so ball dominant. When the ball gets in his hands, it stops. It don't move. You know, he ain't moving around, setting too many picks and rolling. You know what I mean? It's just not a lot of flow and rhythm in the game. So it hurts everybody else around him. Yeah, he can score in a half-court set. You know, that's what he can do. But you know, the glaring thing is he doesn't give you much defensively. You know what I mean? He's spending all his energy on the offensive end, you know, letting you know that, look, I can still get 30 at night, you know, and we know that.
36:50Chad Johnson:But defensively, you don't see a whole lot of shot blocking from him. You don't see a whole lot of great defense. And that's kind of got Philly behind the eight ball. So I don't expect much from Philly. I'm going to be honest with y 'all. They're going to be a first-round igloo. I mean, and what? You know what? I got a question.
37:08Shannon Sharpe:Because right now they're in the play-in. Go ahead, Ocho. Now I'm going to say, why are we on the topic of Embiid, right? That year he won MVP. Who was the other person that wasn't right behind? Who was run up? If I'm not saying. If Yoko was running up, right? And think about, Joe, think about all the things you just said about everything becoming stagnant offensively when Embiid is playing, right? So when you look at Joker and when he plays, what's the difference in what Joker does and than B does, being that he's a defensive liability as well, but still put up 30.
37:36Chad Johnson:You don't see them assist number Jokic got? He's not the league in assists. Obviously, he's not the passer. He's not the passer that Jokic is. Jokic is, if you ask me, he's a pass first center. Who can score? He's a looking scorer. Boom, he ain't open on the cut. Y 'all playing me one-on-one. Okay, cool. I'm just going to go for 50 tonight. Don't even worry about that. You know what I mean? I think Jokic's IQ for the game, Ocho, is just... Much better. Oh, man. Hey, hold on. Hey, Jokic's IQ for the game is basically like LeBron.
38:13Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Correct. Yeah. Yeah. Because when you come with the double team, he knows where you come. Depending on who comes, he knows where he's supposed to be. Yeah. So his man is open. That's why he throws so many passes behind his head, because he knows the man came from the weak side. Right. And so he knows that whoever's in the dunker spot, whether it's Christian Brown or whether it's Gordon or whether it's Strother or whether it's Peyton Watson, he knows they're there. So I can go behind my back because I know somebody's feeling from the dunker spot. Yeah, and that's just – He gets that ball at the nail.
38:45Shannon Sharpe:He knows you can't come double him. If you do come double him, you double somebody in the middle of the court? Are you crazy? No, you can't do that. And give him both points?
38:53Chad Johnson:And that's just having a great feel for the game, fellas. You know, knowing exactly where your guys are supposed to be at all the time, that's what a point guard does. Your center never really operates like that. This is why Yoke is just so great. It ain't, you know, he going to put up a triple-double. It's because he going to do what he can. I mean, he going to score the ball if he had to score it that night. If he need to get 20 assists, hell, he going to do that. If he need to get 20 rebounds, he going to do that. He going to do whatever it takes for them to win.
39:26Shannon Sharpe:And that's why they've been successful. And that's what makes him so unique. He's about to lead the league in rebounding and assists. And you might not ever see it again. Because normally when guys lead, most of the time when guys obviously lead the league in assists, it's a guard. To ask a guard to lead the league in rebounding. So think about it. Now you've got a center that's leading the league in rebounding and he's going to lead the league in assists. When people turn to telehealth or weight loss, they're looking for real support. 43:52Shannon Sharpe:All right, we got a very special guest joining us. He's a 6 '2", 326-pound, projected first-round pick, a unanimous All-American, a Big Ten Defenses lineman of the year, Outland Trophy finalist, a first-team All-Big Ten, two-time academic All-Big Ten. Here he is, Caden McDonald. Caden, what's going on? Oh, man. What do you do? What's happening? Hey, man, thanks for joining us, bro. KM, what's good? Man, we here, man. Ocho, man, the GOAT. Hey, Joe. Hey, what's up? Joe from Arkansas, man. I'm from Arkansas, too, man.
44:26Chad Johnson:Yeah, what's happening, bro? Hey, didn't you grow up here in Atlanta, though? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was from Texas, Canada. I was born in Texas, Canada. Okay, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Wait, boy, I knew something about you, boy. You good people as your man. Oh, yeah. I got one question, Joe, man. Why I couldn't get an NBA championship, man? What you mean? For the Hawks, man. I grew up a Hawks fan. I couldn't get one. Oh, man. Come on. Come on. Come on. Don't act like that now. Don't act like that. Hey, I'm going to make sure they get one here soon, though. Don't even worry about that. Yeah. What high school did you go to?
45:04I went to North Gwinnett. You know, Sewanee. Gwinnett County got the best football. So all the dogs come out there.
45:13Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Yeah. They have. Gwinnett County has really, they've really built up all those schools out there because they've really gotten, and now you got Buford out there. You got, you know, all those big time schools out there. Wait, wait. Because it used to be, it used to be South. It used to be the Valdosters, the Tiff Counties, the Warner Robins. All those schools were big. Now y 'all just done took Lyons County. Wait, hold on. You got done took over now. Hold on, hold on. Caden said some dogs come out of there. I need to hear names of some of the dogs that came out of that school. We got, see, we're going to start.
45:44We're going to go old school. We're going to go C.J. Ozuma. New school. We have Josh Downs, Barrett Carter. Okay. Big bro, Jaden McDonald, man, All-American. That's my big bro. Wait, all them from Atlanta? Well, the whole Gwinnett County, we got Caleb Downs, Travis Hunter, all them boys. I ain't know that I ain't know that I like that Alright
46:16Shannon Sharpe:What clicked for you this year? You're all American Obviously 362 326 pounds You can do a lot, get you twitchy Can collapse the pocket, can rush the quarterback Can stop the run What clicked for you this year? What was it about this year? You put it together So make a long story short you put it together. And I'll just say, man, opportunity. I got a chance to make something happen. I had like 13 games. Every play I treated like an opportunity. One day I want to be on that cover. So it's just like... It's that mentality. I'm on the field. I got the black face going. I'm on it. I'm all the way in it.
47:00Locked in. Yeah, for sure. So far, right? Obviously having a great season this year with Ohio State. The process, obviously your childhood dream is wanting to make it to the NFL. How has the process been so far? Has it been everything you dreamed of to date that you thought it would be before you even made it? I'll just say, yeah, for sure, man. You know, when you're a kid, especially coming from Arkansas, it ain't nothing but one gas station. You know, growing up, man, just, no, it's a dream come true. You know, I ain't never dream about this when I was a kid. You know, we was just living. No.
47:37Okay. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, growing up, man, it was just, you know, we played ball. You know, I've been playing since I was four. So, man, this has been my life.
47:46Chad Johnson:Hey, tell me something. What's your plans for the draft, man? You plan on going down to Pittsburgh for the draft? Hey, man. I'm going to have that big Cuban on. I got my little one on right now. But, still, double reset, popping it. Yeah. Put that thing on. What kind of watch you going to have on? What kind of watch you going to be wearing? Two-tone AP. Two-tone AP.
48:17That boy got money. Two-tone.
48:19Shannon Sharpe:He got the big Cubana. He said, yeah, they're coming to the big Cubana with this. I like it. Listen, I got one more question. I got one more question. Obviously, there are certain players that you watch at the next level. I'm sure there are some players that you aspire to be like or that you look up to. Who do you compare your playing style to and who are players in the NFL right now that you look up to and say, you know what? I want to make my mark or leave my mark like they did. I'll be like, you feel me? I like physical defensive tackles, man. Yes, sir. Like me, I don't really. I look at other NFL players, but no, my game is special.
48:58Like, you see me on the field making these plays. You know, I had 65 tackles from the head-up-nose position. Ain't nobody doing that. So, I'm trying to make my own mark. You feel me? Yeah. But I'll say, like, man, Aaron Donald, Cam Hayward, you know, he came out of Peachtree Ridge. That's who I was going to say. I was going to say probably Cam Hayward.
49:19Shannon Sharpe:Because he's a guy that plays, like, he can play the tilt. He can play the under. Most of the time, he lines up. He can be the three. I mean, head up the nose. He can be the three. He can be the five. He can be the defensive end. He's multiple. But he's – Hey, I got a question. Hey, I got a question for you. Yeah. Hey, what's your superstition on, like, the game day? Like, what's one thing you got to do on a game day that you ain't changed? Oh, man. I was very superstitious. And once I started this, even when I went to Baltimore, the trainers, I told the trainers, obviously, I have my pad, you know, double-sided tape on my pad.
49:57Shannon Sharpe:They're in my locker. I need three packs of Big Red. I need probably like six Advil. Oh my God. I need three
50:10Shannon Sharpe:blueberry cake donuts. I need long lineman socks that I'm going to get, take out my locker, and I'm going to go give them back to the equipment guy and get running back socks. I get taped. I get a regular routine tape job to go out there, and then I come back in and I get retaped again, but I get it taped to my skin. I do the same thing. I go standing on the road, Cade, I would go stand, I would press the elevator and I would go stand in front of the elevator door that I thought was going to open. And I had to do that until I got it right. So if it's three, four elevators, I'm going to press it and I'm going to go stand in front of one that I think is going to open.
50:46Shannon Sharpe:And was that door open that I'm standing in front of? Oh, they're in trouble. That team that we played in trouble. I already know what you was on. You give them that work. Hey, you had superstitions? You had a routine that you followed? I don't know. I just, no. My superstition, I was big in my faith. So before every game, I just open up the Bible. I'll pray first. And whatever scripture comes up, I'll just read it. It's a different meaning to me when I read. I read in just words. Just words like strength. God got you, things like that. It always comes for tuition in real life. I just forever been doing that.
51:32Shannon Sharpe:Why Ohio State? Why Ohio State? You got Georgia. You got all them schools. You leave Georgia. You leave the A and go way to Ohio State. Man, this draft, man. We got five guys in the first round, man. Hold on. I got to give a special shout out to all the five. We got Caleb. man, if you in here, Cardinal, Arvell, Sonny, them boys, man, them boys some dogs, but we develop, man. It's a real development. You know, it prepares you every day. You train like a pro. You know, nutrition, you gotta be like a pro. You gotta be accountable every day on and off the field. I like that. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
52:13You said one word. I heard a word that I hear all the time. You said nutrition. Now, when it comes the nutrition, what's your diet look like? What you eating? What they telling you to eat? Like I said, man, I'm big in that seafood, man. I'm a seafood secret. You know, hey, shout out hunting team, man. Seafood secret, man. I'm a big salmon guy. I love missing salmon. Okay. Especially, I'm superstitious and I eat the same thing the whole week, man. On a Tuesday, I go salmon. Wednesday, Chipotle. Thursday, we gotta go big, man. Shout out McDonald's. We gotta go big, man. That's what I'm talking about.
52:50You know what? See, just because of that, I'm telling you right now. I'm telling you right now, boy, you're going to be great. You're going to be great for the simple fact. Hey, listen, you eating healthy, but obviously you're going other places too. Like, you know, McDonald's was me. I wasn't superstitious, but I had McDonald's every game. I still eat it today, and I think that's the reason for my success. You don't get hurt often. You know why you don't get hurt often? It ain't the salmon. It's not your nutritionist. It's the fact that you eat Big Macs. I'm telling you that's what it is. I know what I'm talking about.
53:24Chad Johnson:Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Listen. How much you weigh, bro? Three what? Like 325 right now. Solid. Oh, that's life. That's life for him. But when I watch you on the field, though, you so nimble, so you carry that weight so well. How's your training regimen? Like, how you getting nimble? Like, is football the only sport you ever played? Bro, man, you got to really look me up. You got to do your research, man. And I've been hooping since I was five, man. Yeah. I really wanted to become like you, man. I used to go to the game. I see Joe Johnson. You feel me? Mike Bibby, Jamal Crawford. Yeah. Man. Yeah, all that.
54:02But no, I played. I was a multi-sport athlete. You know, in high school, I played running back. I had like 500 yards, 12 touchdowns. Damn. And I was a dollar.
54:11Shannon Sharpe:Damn. Okay. Oh, you was told that. You was told that big, huh? Yeah, for sure. But see, you see what happened, Kay? when you start eating the Big Macs, you grew out of running back position. See? If you'd have gave up the Big Macs and kept eating salmon, you'd have been a running back. You'd have been Jameer Gibbs. You'd have been Derek Henry. Hey, what would be my nickname if I was a running back?
54:33Chad Johnson:Bruiser? They'd call you Big Macs. Bruiser? Yeah. You'd have been running over people.
54:41Shannon Sharpe:Your name be Big Macs. What? You'd have been running. You'd have been running. Hey, so what position you playing basketball? Were you the point? You the center? Hey, you the two? I did it. Oh, man. I'm like point guard, man. I got to facilitate the offense, man. They run through me. They got to run through me. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Could you dunk? Could you dunk? No. I was a floater. I'm floaters. There you go. Oh, you J. You let the ball go. You take over. Yeah. I like it. I like it. So, I mean, obviously, as Ocho asked you to say, you know, this was a lifelong dream. You grew up, you know, playing in Texarkana and later moving to Atlanta and then playing the game of football.
55:25Shannon Sharpe:You played at JV, Pop Warner, JV, high school football, college football. Now everything that you had is right there. We're two weeks. We're basically two weeks away. Yeah. We're two weeks away from the draft. two weeks and everything that you had hoped for and you dreamed about, you prayed about, you said you're a man of faith, and it's about to happen. Have you thought about in that moment, are you going to get emotional? Are you going to think, you know, like, damn, mom, we did it, bro. So we hear that. Man, I think about that every day. It's getting closer. We two weeks away. You know, just like the whole life, my whole life, man, I just, I felt like the underdog, you know.
56:08I finally get to celebrate with the people that's the closest to me. You know, mama, no. Mama, no. I got big bro, sister, auntie, all the fans from Arkansas coming. Yeah. You know, so my best friends from Georgia. You know, it's going to be a good night. And just all the work I put in, you know, it's a lot of sacrifices you got to make. I know as a kid, like back at home, that's looking up to me. So, you know, I got to make that happen so they can do the same thing I'm doing. And that's my motivation.
56:37Chad Johnson:That's what's up. Hey, K-May, one thing I'm going to tell you, bro. I know you're probably working your butt off right now because, you know, you're about to, you know, approach a lifelong dream. The one thing I'm going to tell you, bro, keep that dog mentality. Even when you get drafted, even when you get that, like, never let your foot up. You know what I mean? Keep working hard, bro. And I always remember, you know, never lose that discipline that you have now. You know, the workouts that you got to go through, how you eat. Man, when you get in the NFL, bro, don't let up, bro. Don't let up.
57:14For sure. You see that hunger?
57:17Shannon Sharpe:Because a lot of times what happened is that, okay, my lifelong dream was get to the NFL. Well, now it starts. Because this is not the destination. This is the journey. Your destination is once you're done with your career. so that same drive and determination that you got up every and trained for in high school and what you did in college because the scouting report said you're a striker which lets me know you're great with your hands and you're like I'm physical and the one thing I know about Matt Patricia and he knows how to cover the run game you gotta be great with your hands nah son you try to get up on the line back in the middle of your right here yeah coach Matt Patricia he put a lot on my back this year.
58:02And it's one thing he always be telling me, he be strong in the middle. You know, that's where it starts. That's where it's going in. And I just took it personal. Each game, you know, now we're here. Draft. So, man, it's a blessing. You know? Yeah. You're going to be all right. You know, I know you're going to be all right because I asked you who you compare yourself to, who you're inspired to be like. And you said, nobody do it like you. You said nobody do it like you. That let me know you're going in with the right mentality, the right mindset, and you can make your own name for yourself. So go in there, cause some goddamn havoc.
58:36Talk a little shit, too. Don't be scared to talk no shit. Talk a little shit, too. Let them know you're here. You know, I've arrived. So, man, I wish you nothing but success, young bull. And maybe, shoot, you might end up in Cincinnati.
58:47Shannon Sharpe:Well, it looks like the Bears, the Vikings, Buffalo, Houston, and Pittsburgh have all been labeled possible ladders. Where you get that from? Their preference. Are you just - Where you get that from? My source. But don't worry about it. You say do our homework, do our research. My source. Hey, my source. You tell us to do our homework, we do our homework.
59:09Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, man. Hey, so you done been to a few of these places? Yeah, I've been to a couple. I met with pretty much every team, you know? Yeah. Hey, you met with Cincinnati? On Monday, I am. On Monday, yeah, it's a beautiful place over there. I'm in Foxborough right now. Yeah. Okay. So let me ask you this. Okay. They come in and they say, you know what, hey, Matt, Big Matt, what type of player we get? Tell me what. I'm a GM. I'm in charge of personnel. And I'm doing all the draft. And I come in and sit down and I say, hey, tell me what type of player we get? It's only like three words, man. Day one impact.
59:56Yeah.
59:57Shannon Sharpe:That's it. They want impact. That's what I really say to the GMs. And they know for sure. Hey, cut the tape on. That's it. That's another three words. Cut the tape on it. Tell me what you see. Tell me what you see. When you see me, tell me what you see. You know, you don't have to say too much. You don't got to tell them a story. They already know who you is. They already did their background. check on you. Right. So you can't lie to them. Then you just tell them straight. Come on, man. That's how I be. You know? Yeah. They done their homework. They know everything about you. Everything. They know your favorite food.
1:00:38Shannon Sharpe:They know where you like to hang out at. They know where you like to shop at. They know your dessert. They already know. Oh, yeah. Oh, you got your nice little car. You got your little car. Hey, everything. What y 'all drive right now?
1:00:52Chad Johnson:Joe, what you drive right now, man? I know you got something. Man, I ain't got but a I got a Range Rover, bro Oh, that's smooth What about you, Unk?
1:01:01Shannon Sharpe:Man, you know, I'm old I got a 2012 Range Rover and a 20 I got a 2020 760 BMW I got an electric BMW and I got that Ghost Hellcat Ojo, what you got, Ojo? uh cybertruck tesla mclaren 720p lamborghini yeah yeah my smart car um and shoot that that's it i just i just man andy owe me limb andy owe me a limb hunt a limb a limb k and he got all them

1:01:51Shannon Sharpe:He doing all this stuff. Hey, look, man, what you do? What you do? I mean, you ever lend somebody some money? And every time you see him, he got on fresh. Man. He got a new chain. He got on a new, he got on new, he got on new chrome. He got on some new kicks. Bro, I be seeing, bro. That just be crazy to me. Like, dang, you owe me that honey. 1:02:46Shannon Sharpe:You know Chrome Hearts ain't cheap. He buying Chrome Hearts. He buying LV. He got Burberry. He got all that stuff. Hey, see? Hey, K-Mac, this is what you don't understand. I go to the boosters down here in Miami. I don't pay full price for nothing. They said they come to the barbershop. They come to the car shop. They said everything happened.
1:03:05Chad Johnson:Well, booze my limb. Hey, hey, hey, K-Mac. Look, on Nightcap, bro, We be looking for hidden talents. And I heard that you're supposed to be five. You can make some five pancakes, boy. You can put it down like that? I can put it down, man. Hey, man, I got that flick of that wrist, man. What? Hey, for real. Hey, so you a chef too? Man, I do it all, man. Whatever you need. What you need me to cook for you, man, when I come see you, man. Oh, you on that grill? Hold on. Hey, Mac, you on the grill like that? What type of steak? How you want to cook? Man, stop playing. Stop playing. Hey, you know how to cook the wagon steak?
1:03:47That's easy. Easy. Yeah. Okay. You know. Hey, I ain't going to lie. I like going out there. I like Maestro's, man. What's y 'all steakhouse? Y 'all don't do the steakhouse? Y 'all don't do the steakhouse?
1:03:59Shannon Sharpe:What y 'all don't do? Oh, you have Maestro's? Buttercake. Buttercake. Every time. That buttercake like that, ain't it? So let me ask you this. You got a lady, Maestro? No, I don't got no lady right now. Nah. I was going to say, if you had, because, okay, let's just say you meet this lady and you are, you kicking it and you want to, you want to bring her over and you want to cook a meal for her. What you cooking? What you dropping on the table? Um, man, first of all, like I said, I'm going to just go, we're going to go salmon. We're going to go salmon, salmon, green beans, and rice, man. We're going to have to keep it, you know, healthy.
1:04:31You got to, you don't want to do too much.
1:04:33Shannon Sharpe:Hey, what you doing for dessert though?
1:04:46Shannon Sharpe:That what's up? That what's up. Well, y 'all shout out, man. Ain't nobody even said it. Yeah, because we know what's up. We know what's up. Hold on. K-Mac. K-Mac, check me out, right? Listen, I'm down here in Miami, right? And I know a whole lot of people, right? So if you need looking for a wife, a girlfriend, or something, I got some eligible people that can really align you.
1:05:12Chad Johnson:K-Mac, K-Mac, ton of vision, baby boy. I was waiting on you to say that, Joe. We ain't said none of that, Ocho talking about. Look here. Hey, man. We finna live the American dream. You hear me? Hey, anything that here, ton of vision. That's what we got. Everything over here, man, them just distractions, homie. Don't be anything. K-Mac, I hear what he talking about, but listen, what's the American flag without the stars? Huh? You hear me? What's the American flag without the stars? What's the American flag without the stripes? He talking about the American dream. Ain't no American dream without someone you hear me?
1:05:42Stay locked in, K-Mac.
1:05:43Shannon Sharpe:Trust me, bro. Trust me. And you know when they did the original American flag, it only had 13 stars. They added some more. So you could add some girls. Once you get about three, four, five years in the league, you could add some stars. Hey, I'm listening to Joe right now, man. There you go, man. You all right, Joe, bro. Stay locked in, homie. For sure. Yo, yo. I'm locked with you. Man, hey, congratulations on all the success, man. You got a great personality. You're going to be very successful in this league because you have what it takes. You know what it takes. You have that discipline, that physicality, that desire to be great.
1:06:22Shannon Sharpe:Yes, bro. Appreciate you, man. We're going to be watching you at night, Cap. Hey, when you get drafted, call us back up. We want to talk to you. I got y 'all. I got y 'all.
1:06:30Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, one more thing. One more thing. Whenever you come back to Atlanta, whenever you come to Atlanta, come holler at your boy. We do some high yoga. I make sure I keep you right, keep you nimble. Make sure you feel me. All right. That's cool. That's cool. I'm going to come to you, Joe. All right. That's cool.
1:06:45Shannon Sharpe:No. Hey, Mac. Mac, me and Joe will get at you offline. We'll talk to you later. Yeah. I got y 'all, man. Hey, man. Hey, man. I got to get some rest, man. I got to get up early, man. Three things. Hey, how about that? Appreciate you stopping by, bro. All right. You know what I have? I'm going to tap in.
1:07:03Chad Johnson:All right. All right.
1:07:05Shannon Sharpe:All right. twin. All right, y 'all. Check this out, guys. Here is Joel Embiid's playoff injury history. 2018, he had an orbital fracture and a concussion. 2019, he had an illness, knee tendinitis. 2020, COVID bubble. 2021, torn meniscus. 2022, orbital fracture, torn thumb ligament. 2023, knee sprain. 2024 Bell Palsy 2026 One week before the playoffs start 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 Another 25 so basically 8 out of 9 years he's had something Going into the playoffs Hey who the hell is Bell Palsy It's a debilitating That called sometimes you see it The mildly crook Yeah Okay I think it's a neurological.
1:08:05Shannon Sharpe:Stink had it. Marks Loretta. No, he had Guillain-Barre. He had Guillain-Barre. He didn't have Bell Palsy. But sometimes you see guys and their mouth be crooked. It's almost like it reminds people of a symptom like a stroke. You know, sometimes people have a stroke and they have their first speech or they have hands or something. It's kind of like that. Okay. But I don't think anybody's had one look than Joey B.
1:08:29Chad Johnson:That joke got buzzed looking. Man, it's unfortunate for him, too, man, because, you know, it seemed like all this really, really started happening after their MVP year, too. You know what I mean? After his MVP year, it's like everything started going downhill for him.
1:08:42Shannon Sharpe:Nah, Joe, he was hurt before the MVP. Think about it. 2018, he had an orbital fracture and a concussion. 2019, he had an illness and knee tendinitis. 2020 was the bubble. 2021, he had a torn meniscus. 2022, he had another orbital fracture and a torn thomney ligament. 2023 he had a knee sprain 2024 he had Bell's palsy 2026 he had appendicitis so I mean he's been if you think about it Joe think about coming out of college what was it he'd have been the first pick in the draft if it's back if it's injuries wasn't the only so normally when you come if you limp into a league you limp out of it you limp into the season you limp out of it because you know Joe being injured during the season it's hard to get healthy It is, bro.
1:09:28Shannon Sharpe:It's hard to get him.
1:09:30Chad Johnson:Because the games come too fast. You know what I mean? Especially in basketball. Yes. In football, you know, you make it nurture your injuries a little better. But in basketball, hell, if I'm playing four games in five nights, hell, I'm probably going to have to sit out with one or two of them games. To get yourself back right.
1:09:48Shannon Sharpe:Damn. That's crazy. Man, it's tough. Look, I've dealt with injuries. I mean, I played 14 years and, you know, had some success. But, Joe, I missed 16 complete games. That's the season. Yeah. That's the season. Damn. Damn.
1:10:13Chad Johnson:That's unfortunate, man. That hurts Philly a lot, bro. Because, you know, MB will be great in the postseason, in the playoffs, because there you go. But without him, they definitely ain't got no chance.
1:10:30Shannon Sharpe:Joe, you said something very interesting. You said like when Joel Embiid is out, you look at Max and you look at BJ. Yes, because he caught the lane up. Max can take you off the dribble, but Joel Embiid is right there. Edgecombe is explosive. Embiid is right there. The difference is if you notice, they rarely, if you look at where Jokic posts up at, he always posts up he's either at the nail or at the top cause and even if he ever gets down on the block he's looking to go across court he's looking to pass first you better not bring no double team money he's looking to pass first you're right absolutely Anthony Davis gave his MVP rankings he said Victor Wimbanyama Nikola Jokic Jalen Brown Shea Gilgis in that order in that order hold on that's what Shea Gilgis at number 4 at number 4 Wait, who was this?
1:11:24Shannon Sharpe:This was Ant? Wimby is at one. Jokic is at two. Jalen Brown is three. Shea is four. Luka is five. Whose list was this, Unk?
1:11:35Chad Johnson:That's Anthony Davis, AD. I think AD, he going off the fact that San Antonio has beat OKC, what, three times this year, Unk? Yeah. Because I can't see how he got Wimby in front of Shea. I don't know how you can have anybody in front of Shea outside of Jokic. You might put Jokic up there because of the gaudy numbers that he's putting up. The numps, yes. Outside of that? Yeah.
1:12:02Shannon Sharpe:And he did a lot of this with no Aaron Gordon, and he had some of this without Jamal Murray. Yeah. And so that's why I was like, man, maybe we should have Jalen Brown a little higher because he did the lion's share of his work without JT.
1:12:14Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah.
1:12:16Shannon Sharpe:And if you go back and look at OKC, they were still winning even without Shea. It ain't like they dropped like 10 games without Shea. I think when you look at it, though,
1:12:28Chad Johnson:OKC has been the number one seed for the past three years, fellas. You know what I mean? So that's saying a lot. I know Shea has missed some time and they still have put up wins, but man, they ain't going nowhere without Shea, bro. He going to get them over the hump. So I think I give a little edge to Shea because of the consistency that OKC has played with over the years and obviously still being dominant, you know, having the best record this season, that means a lot. Winning means a lot.
1:13:00Shannon Sharpe:Yes. It should. Hey, man, winning ain't everything. Well, why the hell they keep scoring? Why the hell? Why they keep – if it ain't everything, Ocho, why they keep scoring? You tell me something they don't keep scoring. you give earnest report even in business don't you get an earnest report yes sir so they keep in score so that's why it's important everything is important and I say the same thing man race race race everything is about race we're telling them to take it off every application everything I put out what they ask me they ask me about male and female my ethnicity yeah so if it ain't important take it off I have a question I know you got a good rebuttal.
1:13:45What about the people that say money isn't everything?
1:13:48Shannon Sharpe:That's people that don't have it. It might not be, but everything you need requires money. That's a good one. Where you living, what you driving, what you eating. You get injured. Medical.
1:14:06Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:14:07Shannon Sharpe:Of course. Money is for freedom. That's what money buys. Money buys you freedom. That's what it is. Yep.
