In short

Nightcap Hour 1 discussion of LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers, the Sixers’ fit around Joel Embiid, the Atlanta Hawks’ future (including Jalen Johnson and the Caleb Wilson draft pick), plus broader NBA landscape changes and coaching/player development.

Guests (backgrounds)

King Iso (host) and Barry On (co-host from ATL/Colley Park). Teague T (guest; former Atlanta Hawks player, 2004 #17 draft pick, 2005 Slam Dunk Champion; later scouted for the Hawks for two years and now coaches high school; runs a podcast at “520”). Smooth (co-host/teammate figure in the show’s banter).

Key claims

  • LeBron in Philly is seen as a “window” move to chase a championship across franchises, not “ring chasing,” with LeBron facilitating (about 18–20 points, 8–9 assists) while Embiid must be healthy for 50–55 games.
  • A coach’s criticism: LeBron/Embiid could be “slow” and methodical; counterclaim: Philly’s youth (Maxey, Jalen Brown) can carry scoring, but championship requires Embiid + LeBron at high level.
  • Miami needs more shooting; questions about ball-handling fit if combining Giannis/Bam with LeBron.
  • Hawks: defense is strong; main question is scoring/rebounding and “be the guy” in postseason.

Notable examples

Debate references Embiid’s role knocking Boston out, Maxey as a “baby AI,” and Hawks’ 2009–2010 street-life stories. Hawks draft talk: Jalen Johnson’s 22–23 season scoring and Caleb Wilson likened to KG-style defense/intensity; Wilson’s reported “2,000 shots a day” after a broken hand.

4:46Well, well, well, welcome to another episode of Nightcap. I'm your host. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The one and only King Iso and my co-host, my player partner, man, from the ATL, one ATL, Barry On, straight out of Colley Park. You hear me? Huh? Yeah. Hey, hey, hey, hey. He was the number 17 pick in the 2004 NBA draft, slam dunk champion in 2005, youngest player in NBA history to reach a thousand blocks. Boy come through with that left hand, huh? Yeah. One time, one time. Hey, get up for my boy Josh Smith, huh? Yes, sir. Hey, what they do, baby? Oh man, you know me, you know slow motion better than no motion.

5:32You know what I'm talking about? Hey, hey, hey, I got, I got Ocho, they on vacation, bro. So, you know, I told him, you know, give me the keys. Give me the keys to that thing, man. You know, I take it out for a spin, make sure it's straight. You know what I'm talking about? Yes, sir. Hey, they say we're going to do the ISO takeover. I said, damn, we're going to do the ISO takeover. I got to hit my boy smooth, see what he got going. I need you to step up to the plate, baby. What's happening? A little bit of nothing, man. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, a little slow motion. It ain't a test driving when you driving, Chad.

6:02Hello. There we go. You saw the car. You saw the whips, big dog. You did what I said? Mr. Max himself. Yes, sir. Hey, hey, hey. You know what I mean? You got it cranked up. You know what I mean? Hey, hey, hey. We had a nice run, didn't we? We had a nice run. We had a nice run, Smoot. Absolutely. Yes, sir. Hey, how the fam doing, bro? How wife and the kids doing? I see little Josh doing his thing. I see you coaching over there on the sideline. I see you went viral because you done got at somebody talking about, don't call me no more. Oh, man. I ain't know I went that viral. What's going on? Oh, no, it's fun, man.

6:40The AAU space is fun. You know, I've been doing it for about five, six years now. So yeah, my son is getting, he'll be a senior this year, but he's been, you know, been going through all the stages, not skipping steps. Yeah. You know, he was one of those kids that didn't jump off the porch. It was like, okay, he gonna be super nice. He really put the work in and he's the player he is today. So I'm just excited about his growth and where his future is headed, you know what I mean? Hey, that's what's up, bro. I enjoy watching him. I see he's shooting that three ball. He gets to the rack, he gonna booth that thing.

7:17Know he gonna booth that thing, huh? A little bit, a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, hey, the sky's the limit for him. Huh? See, he's overly shooting it, though. He's shooting it, though. Oh, yeah, yeah. The sky's the limit for him, bro. You keep him in him, keep his head on right, keep him working hard. I always tell mine, bro, you got to outwork the competition. You know what I mean? Right, right. Keep them going there. But I've been seeing you over there doing it. What you think? You think you want to get into some coaching? What's up? I mean, I don't know. I mean, I like it. I like it over there.

7:48You know what I'm saying? It's definitely made me a more patient person. Yeah. You know what I mean? I understand it. And it gave me a lot of respect for a lot of my former coaches just because of the detail of what they have to do and just the work they got to put in in order to get there. You know what I'm saying? So, I mean, I do see myself one day being on the staff for somebody. Hey, it's a little different, though, you know, when you're coaching them young boys because what you know now – Smooth, what you at, 41 now? 40. Yeah, I'm 40. 40. So, with you being 40, bro, coaching these young dudes who 15, 16, you know what I mean?

8:29Like, your mentality of the game is so far ahead of those guys. It didn't take them a lifetime to catch up. So what you try to do is embed everything that you know into them, and hopefully one day it clicks. You know, so I kind of know and understand that. But I went through the little coaching thing myself, coaching my son. So it's fun, bro. Because at the end of the day, all you want to do is support. You want to be that support system for them and help them navigate, you know, this process because we've been there before. We know what it's like. We know the blueprint. Yeah, and it's kind of hard at this age to hand them off to somebody that you know don't know as much as you do about the game.

9:07You know what I'm saying? Hello. You having conversations with coaches that might not ask. Because, like, if I was a high school coach or AAU coach and I seen you come into a gym and I was coaching your son, I asked you for advice. You know what I'm saying? Hey, man, what plays y 'all used to run? What kind of schemes defensively? what did y 'all look for offensively or some stuff like that? You know, you got a lot of ego-driven people that are in those spaces, so they feel like it's lame, you know, like second coming of them, you know, asking a question like that. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah.

9:47It's tough. You know, I done been in that space move. Your infrastructure got to be right. You got to have people who you can really trust, especially when you're talking about starting a program. it's a lot harder than what people, you know, anticipate or think, you know, just cause we former athletes, people think that we could just magically turn this, press this button and make it happen. But it's a process you got to go through, bro. You got to take your lumps and bruises just like everybody else did. You know what I mean? Facts, facts. And then, you know, you got to be okay with kids leaving, you know what I'm saying?

10:17Coming because, you know, at the end of the day, you know, when you, when you are pouring into these kids, you want to kind of give them information that they need going on onto the journey, but everybody's not going to get it, you know what I mean? But that's okay. Just as long as the ones that you touch along the journey gets it and they appreciate, you know, like just the AAU program you had, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. You still got ISO Joe out there and the magnitude of what you were showing those kids in Arkansas, you know, some people, some kids appreciate it and some kids didn't understand it, you know what I mean?

10:54Yeah, yeah, like you have some kids that are a little less fortunate. If we're keeping it real smooth, they're going to take advantage, bro. They're going to work hard, you know what I mean? Versus some of the kids who may have everything at their disposal, they don't look at it like that, bro. That fire ain't burning their belly enough for them to, you know, be able to go off and get one of these top scholarships, going to college and things of that sort. I mean, you look at the landscape of college nowadays, smooth. Hell, it's a professional sport now. it ain't it ain't just like i call it i call it semi-pro yeah i call it in college oh it's semi-pro man hey hey and with it being semi-pro they ain't really trying to babysit you bro you know what i mean you making kids making millions now just to go to college i mean hell if that was the case when you was around you probably would have went to school for a year too huh facts yeah if they said i was gonna be a 17 pick i would have went and dug in some of that money hey hold on hold on hold on hold on where you would have went to school in indiana where they got that good nil up there you would hold on hold on hold on being a georgia boy man you look look here's my thing when you got the talent that georgia has bro because y 'all y 'all spitting them out whether it's basketball football baseball it don't matter man you got to do what you can to keep that talent in state bro you can't they can't let you get out of town yeah man but you know i I didn't want to go to Georgia Tech.

12:22I grew up a Georgia fan. And then when I committed to Georgia, like my sophomore year, I was, no, I didn't commit to Georgia. I wanted to commit to Georgia, but by my sophomore year, Jim Herrick was the coach. Yeah. That's when he had the pipeline jumping. Like, there wasn't nobody leaving Georgia, you know what I'm saying? Under his wife. They were NIL, before NIL. Oh yeah, yeah, that brownie. The bag money, you know that. Hello, hello. Then the boy Colt, you know, snitched on him. tell you they'll take a basketball one-on-one class you know what i'm saying take a test talk about what is the three-pointer work you know what i'm saying yeah yeah yeah hey hey hey we got a power one time man we got we got this little talking ass dude that got on uh little jeff t t what's up baby hey we appreciate you i appreciate you for joining me for the iso takeover i got smooth joining me every night for the next four nights well tonight thursday and saturday and sunday so we're gonna be on here clowning acting a fool and i only felt it was right i said man i gotta hit t see if he'll come on and kick this thing off with me and smooth you know maybe talk about some of the times that we had back in the day man you know some stuff we're gonna take to our grade that's just what it is you know what i mean for sure yeah yeah some stuff we're gonna take that great but but but listen man hey hey i've been checking you out and what y 'all doing over there at 520, bro.

13:48You know what I didn't expect, Teague? I ain't going to lie to you, bro. I ain't expecting. Look, you quieter than me here. I didn't expect for you to be on no podcast, bro. Nah, I talk more than you, bro. That's crazy. That's a lie, bro. To be on a podcast, I never would have thought that, bro. But the one thing I tell you, you're doing a hell of a job. Appreciate it. I appreciate you, man, just for keeping your boy relevant and somehow some way I done snuck into this space on nightcap with Uncle Ocho and it's been fun, bro. I never imagined that I had this much fun doing it. And so when I got the whiff about this takeover, this ISO takeover, I had to hit smooth, have him come join me.

14:29You know what I mean? Because it's been a lot more exciting than what I anticipated. I ain't going to lie, bro. I've been having fun. We just came from Fanatics Fest in New York. We had a ball out there. So I've been keeping up with y 'all, man. Y 'all, you and the boys over there. but hey, y 'all a little unsensitive at times, but it's good for TV, bruh. We were all in the cut, bruh. Nah. Yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, hey, T, I see you in the coaching too. Is this your high school alma mater you coaching? Yeah, I coach my old high school, man. We one of the top teams around here. Smooth know most of the guys that play on my team.

15:03They play AAU, he didn't play against them a little bit, but yeah, we a pretty good team though. Is these all guys out of Indiana, or y 'all been recruiting? You know, in college, college different. It's a pro sport now. High school, hell, it's going to be the same way. Hey, did y 'all see they finna start selling these teams in college, like pro teams? I seen you in LV. They put their bid out there. BYU already done did it. Damn. Who? The Utah Jazz owner. Oh, did he? He kind of over that situation, I think. Man, they changing the whole landscape of the game, bro. T, what you got going, bro? What's next for you?

15:40What you in 520 got going? Are you trying to coach in the league? Are you trying to be a scout? You want to do any of that? Are you cool with what you're doing? I already did the scout thing. So when I first retired, I scouted for the Hawks for two years, which was cool. But we started doing the podcast, and I started coaching high school. And high school was so fun. We were sad as hell my first year. We won six games. Yeah, but last year we was really good. I think we lost three or four games. But I had a pretty good team. and we looking really good this year. But I did the scouting thing. I couldn't get with that.

16:15I ain't going to lie. It's a lot of traveling, ain't it, bro? Well, and you don't stay in the hotels we was used to. Nah, bro. I was using my whole scouting budget, paying for new rooms, bro. I was like, nah, I'm working for free. Yeah, I heard there was a challenge in itself. I never really wanted to get into it. I love being around the guys, you know, helping out when I can. I'm not necessarily rooting coaching out, but I just love helping in some form of capacity. You know what I'm saying? Nah, facts, facts. Hey. You'll be good at it though. It's hard, Teague. I ain't gonna lie, Teague. You think, I'm saying, think about the pros is a lot tougher because guys making so much money now.

16:58Hell, y 'all thought we were making some money back in the day. The money these guys making now is ridiculous, bro. But they respect y 'all game though. Like, it's different when they respect y 'all gang. Like, everybody want to play like you. They want to play like Smooth. And they know if y 'all was a little younger, if y 'all was 20 years younger, y 'all be premier players in this league. Like, everybody know that. So they don't respect y 'all. Hey, Smooth, Smooth, you get 150 easy. You get that easy. Man. You was 22. You was 20 years too early, bro. I'm trying to tell you. Huh? They copied and pasted me.

17:42Four copies and pasted your boy, man. Hey, hey, in the meantime, we got the big news that hit. You know, Bron went to Philly. Teague, I didn't really get to see y 'all if y 'all was on this morning. I want to know what you and Smooth think. Smooth, I'm going to start with you first. I mean, like, when we talk about, like, the greats, like, when we have arguments about, like, Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, those guys stayed on one team. So, it's like, you know what I mean? So, when you say, like, you throw LeBron in that conversation, and then you get to thinking about how many teams he played for. So, you know, that's all I think about.

22:51Like, back in the day, we always talk about, when we talk about legacy and guys being, like, great, you know what I'm saying, we just talk about guys, you know, even like Reggie Miller. Like, just talk about those, like, how if you were super one of those guys, you'd stay with kind of, like, either one organization or maybe one of the two, if anything. Right, right. Young T, what you got for me? Yeah, no, I'm different. I like that Bron went to Philly. I thought he was gonna go back to the Cavs so Bronny can go back to Cleveland too. He get the Bronny jersey. Bronny six in the Cavs jersey would've went crazy.

23:26I thought he was gonna do the legacy play. You know what I mean? Go back to Cleveland. Then I thought he'd probably become part of the ownership. But it didn't go that way. He went to Philly. I think they're a really good team. I don't think they - You don't know if it's enough balls. It ain't enough basketballs, bro. That's what I was saying. I was like Jalen Brown came from shooting 22 shots a game Tyrese Maxey shot 22 shots a game then you got MB who didn't play a lot but when he played he was the focal point and then you bring in Bron I'm like I don't know if it's just enough I don't know how they're gonna use Jalen Brown I don't know how they're gonna use Tyrese Maxey it's just too many man I told Arcan Ocho I said listen soon as JB got traded I'm Bron I'm on the phone with MB because my first thing is like big fella you going to be healthy?

24:14Can you give me at least 50, 55 games? You know what I mean? Because at the end of the day, if Embiid ain't healthy, they don't look like no championship team. You know what I mean? But the question, oh, go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead, Smooth. I'm saying with all that firepower, does it give him ammunition to be able to kind of chill until the back end of the season to be able to have a playoff push? Because he actually, he knocked Boston out by himself for real, for real. Yeah, I know. You know you can't stop and be, bro. No, for real. So, yeah, when healthy. Bron play his role. He going to facilitate.

24:56He going to make, you know, Maxie, Edgecombe, Brown. Them guys are going to score. I don't think Bron going to come in there. He ain't trying to come in the average, no 25. He'll probably set up about 18 or 20 a night with about 8 or 9 assists. but I think it's more of the control that he'll be able to have with this young running and gunning team. It's like putting him back there as a quarterback, bro. Maxie, he going to be out there like a baby AI. You can do kind of how New York done with Cat and Brunson. They took the ball out of Brunson's hand, played through Cat. Brunson just kind of came off picks, came off screens, and was a score.

25:32I can see Maxie in there. I can see Edge come trying to be a lockdown defender. How mad would you be if you Edgecombe though? You just came off of average and damn near 17. Now they telling you 3 and D. I don't. Hey, listen, listen, listen. But hold up though. But hold up, hold up. Hold up, smooth and teak. I ain't necessarily if I'm Edgecombe, I ain't necessarily mad. You know what I mean? At worst case, we gonna have him for two years. Now this is a learning tool that I can go. He can take me on this wing. I can learn from all these great players that I'm surrounded by because hell, I still got another 13 14 15 years to play in the league it ain't like he ain't gonna get his money when it's time for him he gonna get his money i just think they have a window and everybody talking about lebron ring chasing i think he's found an opportunity to where he can continue his legacy you think back i thought he was gonna go back to miami fellas ain't gonna lie but then once i started thinking about it hell braun trying to make history bro he want to be the one player to win a championship for four different franchises nobody has done that hell probably nobody will ever do it you know what i mean considering the fact that every night bro every point he scored goes down in the books in history books because he's the leading scorer so he finna put this thing so far to reach it probably won't even be in our lifetime fellas for somebody catch him i'm just gonna keep it real nah it's over with i don't think nobody ever catch him they had to make like somebody had to hit 600 threes in a season or something crazy like yeah they got to be doing something like we ain't never seen that we ever thought would happen.

27:04But I'm just, if I'm Vijay, because I played on y 'all team, and when I came and I wouldn't get no shots, no touches, because I was hot. So if I'm him, my average 16 as a rookie, I'm looking to be like a 22-point scorer as a second-year player. Like, I'm looking to, like, move up. And now Bron and JB come? That'd be my shots go to dang near half. I'm going to eight shots a game. I'm hot, bro. And you got Anthony Simons on the bench. And you bring KCP in for another 3 and D guy. So if I'm not playing well, I know them two dudes. They seasoned veterans. They ready to lock in. They trying to win a chip.

27:41I'm hot if I'm him. I ain't going to lie. Oh, yeah. But how hard do you think LeBron going to play during the regular season with that salary base? Or smooth. I think he going to compete because, like I said, man, his legacy is still going to be great regardless of the situation, but I think he wants to add to it. You know what I mean? Everybody talking about, oh, he's chasing Bron, this, that, and third. I don't think it's that. I think he has another way he's going to put his stamp on the game. I mean, he's already a first ballot legend, arguably the best player to ever play. Check this out.

28:17One assistant coach has had some doubts about how LeBron and Joel Embiid will fit together on the Sixers. He said, it's scary. It can be unstoppable or it can be hard to watch. The unnamed coach told Mark Medina, I think that's his name. He said they're both slow and old. And when you get tired and drain the clock and you're methodical and isolating, you know, every time down court and everybody's just standing around and watching, he said you're going to end up falling down behind because they're so old. I don't agree with that because they have some youth on that Sixers team. They can obviously, even if Bron and Embiid miss a couple games, them boys can carry them, man.

29:04They got JB, one of them. JB top 10 in the league. Tyrese Maxey arguably could be top 10 in the league. So they got two guys over there that's capable to take over, to beat a guy. So I ain't worried about them scoring. But to win a championship, you got to have Bron and Embiid playing at a high level. You do, bro. You do. You do. And you look at JB, he's going to be looking to put his stamp on the game. He's going to be looking to prove guys wrong because of how the Celtics got rid of him. So I think when you got guys who come into the season determined and determined to make a case and show people up, like this veteran team that they have, I think the sky's the limit, bro.

29:48You You can't rule out Philly, bro. They gonna be there. How y 'all feel about Miami? I know you running the show, Joe. My fault. No, no, no, go ahead, go ahead. My fault, man. What do you think about Miami? Oh, man. I think they need more shooting, for sure. I'm trying to figure out how that Bam and Giannis situation works. And, you know, I wanna, you know, when you've been in a situation like how Giannis been, where you've been a man that you had 100 % of control of everything, pretty much like how you want to move and stuff. And, you know, Miami is a little different. Yeah. So it's going to be interesting to see how all that works down there.

30:35Yeah, I think Miami going to be pretty good. Obviously, they're not done. I think they're going to add a few more pieces. They definitely need some shooting. What do they have at point guard? they got the davion mitchell kid yeah they're gonna be able to guard oh yeah they're gonna be able to guard they're gonna be people gonna be running two three zone on them hey hey they ain't gonna be running zone but that they're gonna be trapping boxing elbows on on yannis it's gonna be different bro you know that's i ain't gonna lie to y 'all though but That's why I thought Brown was going to end up going, so he could kind of really facilitate and play that point guard role.

31:18But hell, with no shooting, Giannis and Bam, I know Bam can shoot it. He can score. But it's just hard when you don't really know who's going to take care of the ball handling duties in Miami if you bring LeBron in with Giannis. Like, that's a lot. Plus, you ain't got the shooting that you need. You know what they're going to do? They're going to go back to how they was playing when Brown and D-Way first got there. Remember they was hedging ball screens? Yeah. They gonna start hedging ball screens, trapping ball. They was doing all that crazy stuff. They gonna be doing that again with Bam and Giannis at the four and the five.

31:53What? Giannis gonna be motivated to do that though. Yeah, he - Oh yeah. New senior. Yeah. Look, man, y 'all know Pat run a tight ship over there. If you don't know, I'm here to tell you, he run a tight ship, weight and body fat every Friday. So don't you think you gonna be out there eating them zoo-zoo's and wham-whams and come in and compete? He ain't having that. the one thing you ain't got to worry about is yonis because hell he stay in elite shape you just gotta hope he stay healthy throughout the season and this is what i always tell cats bro you know during the regular season y 'all know this you can coast through the regular season but boy when you get in the postseason and the game and they game planning for you and you got to exert all this energy every possession it's a huge difference bro it is not the same it is not Not the same.

32:39That's a fact. Hey, y 'all been paying attention to the Hawks? What's up? What y 'all got for me? Y 'all like what the moves Hawks made? Like Jeff said, they're gonna be able to play some defense. Damn, you don't think we gonna be in this... You don't think we gonna be in this... No points, boom. Where is it at? Where is it at? I like the Johnson kid. I like what he got going on. You know, I think, you know, his next step is to, you know, to show what he can do in the postseason because, you know, regular season he's really good. Oh, yeah. But, man, I'm trying to figure out where they're going to get the defense at, man.

33:22They still got the Daniels kid, right? Yeah, we got more than enough defense. We got what, Lou Dort, Dyson Daniels, Aaron Wiggins. We going to play some defense. I don't know the scoring. I know CJ's a bucket. CJ a bucket but I think Jalen Johnson going to take another lead I hope so because think about this he averaged 22-23 during the season it wasn't great in the postseason but that's a learning curve you got to go through it was his first time really being a guy because Trey left so having all that attention on you the one thing I would say that was glaring to me from watching him play he has to know and understand he that dude you feel what i'm saying like i just felt like in that nick series we had a lot of opportunities that kind of got away but what you have to understand as a score and when they game playing for you when you see a crease or a crack you can get through bro you can't wait and be like okay i'm gonna wait next time i don't want to force it hell sometimes you gotta force it man you know what i mean like for him to put his stamp on the game he way too athletic he's very unselfish he can pass his ass off i think that's what got him into making all them triple doubles right behind Jokic throughout the regular season.

34:35I enjoy watching him play. I wish in a perfect world, boy, the Hawks would have got the fourth pick. Man, what? Because I knew Caleb. I knew Caleb Wilson was going to be that smooth. I'm going to let you speak on Caleb in a minute. But I knew Caleb was going to be that fool. I was like, man, you put him with them boys? Yeah. Hey, that boy, they're a fool. Smooth, what you got for me on Caleb, bro? Man, probably the best pick in the draft for real, for real, to be honest with you.

35:06I don't know how he went to four, for real. To be honest, you know, I think he would have been the top three pick as far as, like, franchise-wise, who I wanted to, you know, a person that I could build my franchise around. Yeah. From that position, because he's capable of kind of doing kind of a little bit of everything. He kind of reminds me of KG. But with a little bit of brand when he plays, he plays defense with a different type of intensity. Yeah, you like his game, too. Nah, I like him. I like him a lot. He surprised me with his ability to shoot in the summer league. I know he said he was shooting 2 ,000 shots a day.

35:40I don't know if he was shooting that many, but he was getting some shots at him. Go ahead on. Go ahead on. Y 'all think that was cap? That 2 ,000 joke? Hold up. Hold up. The only reason why I say... 2 ,000 makes the shots. But hold up, though. The only reason why I believe him is because he broke his hand. And so he missed a lot of the season. and so that anxiety that he had in him to get out there and play and compete you know he knew he was going to be a lottery pick a top four pick so he wanted to come out and some of the nba some of the improve okay cool i ain't make but seven threes my college career in north carolina hell i'm gonna make seven in the first damn game i play you know what i'm saying but i just thousand joe 2000 bro you was a you was a mostly time off star you ain't shoot two thousand i ain't gonna lie i didn't get I didn't get him no$2 ,000.

36:30I didn't get him$2 ,000. He said makes. Hey, but listen, but listen, then what y 'all gotta understand. These kids are a little different, bro. You know, they making good money in college. You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know why that's not that hard for me to believe, bro. I hope he did. I'm cool. $2 ,000 makes, bro. He a better man than me. Cause I would not be in that gym now. I'm fatigued, man. Money's already in the bank, man. Huh? Money's already in the bank in his eyes. The money already in the bank? Yeah, it's in there. Yes. Hey, man. Hey, y 'all take me back, bro. Take me back 2009, 2010, when we were running through the ATL streets, T.

37:09What, what, what? Oh, man. That was the best time of my life. Boy, I met y 'all boys, man. How y 'all changed my life. Boy, I was just a little green kid from Indiana. Boy, I ain't know nothing. I get on the Hawks, boy. I ain't know nothing. Hey. Boy, these boys got me buying a Challenger. i'll tell the story uh one night we got in it had to be by two three in the morning and uh me you and josh had a challenger and uh we was on the freeway racing i'm the only one guy pulled over and y 'all kept going i said man listen i went on pulled over because i don't want no problem he let me go any damn way so you know cool but hey hey them were some good times bro bro, those were some good times.

37:52Man, the best time. You know, I hate it. You know, it had to end the way it did. But I always say it's the house that Dominique built. Hell, me, Josh, and T, we put a little stucco. You know, we put some new lighting, you know, some new siding in there. Trey came in and renovated that thing. You know what I'm talking about? I think Jalen Johnson got a chance to redo the whole thing, bro. I'm just going to keep it 100, bro. I think this Hawks team is going to surprise a lot of people. Obviously, defensively, we can guard. we just got to be able to score and rebound. I just think the size, like as much as I like the Fleming's kid from Houston, I love him from a point guard perspective, but we do need a little more beef down there, bro, to help them boys out, because that's really what hurt us against the Knicks.

38:38I don't know. I've seen that they had a trade-in for like, people have been talking about Jared Allen. If we can get Jared Allen. Oh, man. I'll tell you that. Y 'all think, hold on, hold on. Y 'all think Cleveland's going to get rid of... Nah, I mean, they got to get on that second. They got apron though. They going to have to go some money around. Yeah, the facts. Because they one of the top ones, ain't they, Jeff? Yeah, they got that. One of the highest payrolls for sure. And Donovan Mitchell, he ain't holding back on nobody. He just got that new extension. He ain't playing around. He said, I put a ring on it too.

39:09I got it. You feel me? I got to lock that thing in, bro. I need that. I need that. Oh, yeah. I need that. Hey, the NBA has definitely, the landscape of the league has changed, bro. You know, you look at from how the game is played now, it ain't no post players no more. You know, you probably got three post players, for real, for real, NB, Jokic, hell, who else? So I said they copy and paste me. Yeah. It really ain't no post players. It's not, bro. It's not. The game has changed, man. and hey the way they getting up and down the floor scoring these points it's a guard heavy league boy i wish i was just 10 years younger boy i had to pass the ball to you i mean you guys hey you know my show a little different

40:03hey hey hey it's just you know you know timing was a little different uh you know you got thrust into but you held your own bro but yeah we we needed that we needed that peak t that t when y 'all was out here running the eastern conference right you know what i mean yeah that's the one that's the one i was too young bro i was too young i ain't gonna lie y 'all was already a seasoned team bro yeah y 'all just came off that playoff matchup with boston yeah i was already kind of heading towards the right way y 'all needed baby y 'all need a kirk hammer i wasn't ready but boy when we got I was like, I can't stay with this young boy.

40:39I can't stay with him either, but I can fake it. Yeah, you had to get on your horses, boy. What? It's a big difference. I think the point guard spot, bruh, I watched my guy Darius Acuff play for the Sacramento. You know, you're going to have your lumps and bruises at that position, because that's the hardest position to come into the league and play. Because you're going to come in and you're going to have your two guard, like Zach Levine, who's been in the league for quite some time. Now you got to try to figure out how you can get yours off and how you get these other guys involved as well. It's similar to the quarterback in football.

41:15You know what I mean? Like you got to know how to distribute. You got to know, you got to go through your read. You got to be able to pick stuff up a lot faster than a guy who's not a point guard or a quarterback. So that point guard position hard, bro, especially when you come in and you ain't played the whole first round tee. and then, damn, you run into it and now you got to guard the MVP? Like, I get it, bro. I get it. I know that was challenging. It was challenging, but the hardest part is, like, realizing that y 'all are grown men. Like, I just came from everybody 19, 18 on my college team, and I come to the team with y 'all.

41:47Y 'all 28, 30, married, got kids. I'm trying to lead. I'm just trying to tell y 'all what to do. Y 'all like, hey, boy, swing it over here. I ain't worried about nothing they talking about. And, you know, I didn't know about contracts and all that stuff. As a young boy, you don't know none of that stuff. But that's why I heard you say it before. That's why it's great to have ex-vets on the coaching staff. You know, T, you had Nick Van Exel. When I was a rookie, I had Lester Conner. And they would tell you straight up, hey, look, bro. Lester Conner told me, say, hey, man, you need to be in the bed by noon.

42:26I mean, by 12 o 'clock midnight. night. You know, I mean, you don't need to be out all night. You need to eat this way. You need to eat that way. You need to get to the gym. If we got practice at 12 noon, you need to be there at 10 o 'clock getting your work in. By the time them dudes get there, the vets, hell, you done already worked out twice. You just ready for practice. So it's little stuff like that. Like even from him, because y 'all know, hell, y 'all played on the Lester Conner with me here in Atlanta. Man, listen, the man would call me to his house at night, bro. His wife would cook and like, you know, just teaching me certain things to eat.

42:58Oh yeah, no, don't put too much, not too much mayo, not too much ketchup, you know. It's just little things like that, that as a professional athlete, bro, you appreciate because, man, you come in, you be so green, you don't know, you're just so happy that you made it to the league. And you're like, shh, I'm finna put on, I'm finna put on, you, man, listen, you got to fall in line, bro, you got to figure it out. That's the hardest part, that's the hardest part about being a pro. Yeah, understanding, yeah. I know that was tough for you though Josh coming out of high school I couldn't imagine boy now hold on hold on not just coming out of high school but smooth you got drafted to the hawks you from here bro yeah like like tell her tell us like real talk tell us how that first year was and then because I know I think y 'all only won 13 games your rookie year what what that what they were hitting on bro what that was like real talk It was, boy, that was a hard time, boy, as a rookie.

43:57Because, you know, you thinking, like, whatever situation you stepping into, you thinking, like, this has to be the scenario for everybody. You know what I'm saying? So I'm thinking, like, every ownership, every team is getting treated like how we're getting treated. So I'm like, I'm just a deer in headlights. I had Antoine Walker. Yeah. He was probably the best, the coolest vet. but we had like Kenny Anderson and Kevin Willis. So, they used to get into it all the time, bro. So, then you had Al Harrington, but he was like on his deal, so he really wasn't trying to, he really wasn't messing with me like that.

44:41Man, you in my way, I ain't got nothing to tell you. I'm like five, he's like six years, seven years in, he like, man, I'm still in the league, bro. I ain't got nothing to tell you. Yeah. I used to kind of like lean on Antoine because like Kevin Willis just wanted to give me like the rookie experience, but he never wanted to do nothing. Like I remember I was coming in with a nasty number from number 42. I was coming in and I'm gonna get my little AAU number. That shit was nasty as hell that I think about it. But they was like, we gonna sign Kevin Willis. Can you, can you charge jerseys? I'm like, all right, I just picked five.

45:23I was like, man, just give me five. It was for no reason. I just threw a number out there. Yeah. So that's how it worked. Then when he came in, they was like, people was telling me how, oh man, they gonna, you know, the veterans show love when you get your jersey up. They gonna give you some money. You're gonna get that the third. I'm like, all right, ooh, all right, man. I'm rubbing my hands together, you know what I mean? I see him, what up, young fella? He covered that job just messing with me the whole time I'm in there. I'm like, all right, bro. I guess I'm getting the rookie haze from him.

45:55So I used to stay connected to Antoine whenever the chance I got. He the one who showed me kind of everything though. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was a real one though, for sure. Yeah, now listen. You know, Twan and Kenny Anderson, Smoove, you know, they were my best when I was a rookie in Boston. See, that's what I'm saying. These kids, they don't have, they through, it's like training day with them type niggas, you know what I'm saying? Oh man, you talking. Hey, hey, hold up, T, did you have to carry the backpack when you was looking at me? Nah, y 'all know y 'all popcorn my car.

46:29Y 'all did all that stuff to me, man. Yeah, because he ain't wanna carry the backpack. He ain't wanna carry the backpack. That's why he got it. He ain't wanna carry the backpack. He ain't wanna carry the backpack. You know what I'm saying? I carried the backpack, you know what I'm saying? Swanky had Swanky had to have some dust in that jazz. Hey, I know that feeling boy, because I had two other rookies with me, Joe Forte and Kedrick Brown. Hell, we all had to carry backpacks. Not only backpacks, we had to get coffee in the morning, donuts, I'm talking about these dudes wasn't even eating this stuff, drinking none of this stuff.

47:01Oh, I know, oh, trust me, I know. Oh, I know. Oh, you had to make a few store runs. I had to get Krispy Kreme every morning. I left them in my locker. I put them at the top. They was green. I remember Smooth probably opened one up. They was green because I just kept recycling them. I'm like, they don't even eat them. We had some hell of a time, bro. Hey, I think about those times, you know, it was always something going on. I always tell people, bro, I say, listen, hell, they always talking about, man, why the Atlanta Hawks ain't never won no championship? I said, man, something going on every damn night.

47:40Soon we leave the arena. Listen, we go right up the street, hit Lucky Lounge. We probably go to the comedy spot. Before we hit the spot, it might be a concert. It might be a concert one night. Somebody may have a big party. Man, shit, there was something going on. There was something jumping in. We're going to pull the trailblaze time. Two of them owners was trying to go low budget on the coaches. What'd you say? It was like, who got this 1.5 high? Hey, they folks ain't give us a chance on that. We were 100 now. We was blessing new coaches and stuff now. Guys had their first coaches careers off the letter of the Hawks now.

48:19Don't do that. We had no poppin' music. You know what I'm saying? I remember one time we went out, man. I went to, I knew the schedule to go out cause y 'all know I wasn't playing. So I knew who to go with on Wednesday. Who was going to - It's no Joe answering that phone after the game. Joe answering that phone after the game. Nah, you know he answering the phone. He gon' tell you where he going. He not answering that phone. He'll be like, just meet me there. He ain't gonna answer the phone. He gonna tell you, we gonna do this and that right after the game, and then don't answer that thing. Hey, don't do that, because we was in there.

48:52You used to get there. I used to just wait by the door. Yeah, because I know, because he told me where to go now. If it was something going on, damn it, we was there. I'm talking about we was there. You hear me? I don't care what it was. We went to the club at 10. We opened the club up and listened to No Hands for two hours. We had just left like a concert or something. Yeah, we left a concert. Yeah, we was the first one in the spot. That Roscoe Dash, come on, that no hands, boy. We were, hey. We was in there for two hours before somebody got in there. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We got a time, man. Oh, yeah.

49:28Hey, Teague, but before you got to the A, bro, we would lean with it, rock with it. We were doing all that in the spot. I'm mad I wasn't there. Man, it hurt. I remember they tried to send me to the G League one day. and y 'all was going to Miami. And y 'all was like, boy, you gotta go to the G League. I was like, yeah, he was like, dang, we're going to Miami. I was like, I beg Rick's son. I was like, please don't let me go. I begged you, I was like, please, man. I don't think I would get better down there. That dude was crazy. After that, they said it's time out for the foolery. They went and hired that other man and he came in, he started with me.

50:08You got me up out of here, got Marv up out of here. Next thing you gotta know is that things wasn't the same. It wasn't the same at all, boy. It wasn't the same. Y 'all live, I was ready to get on up out of here. Hey, Smoo, hold on. So when you went to Detroit, tell me something. Cause you went over there and you played the three and you had been playing pretty much the four with us. I'm saying that's what they was telling you before you came over there? Oh man, when I signed the contract, they was like, boom, you gonna play the three. I'm like, huh? I'm like, no. Like, no, bro, let me, you know what I mean?

50:41I've been playing the folk for nine years. Like, I done got accustomed to that position. Like, just bring one of us up. Like, if you just, like, sign me, just bring Greg Drummond off the bench, one of them, you know what I'm saying? Because both of them kind of similar games, they just, you know, well, Drummond, I mean, Greg was more of a post-up player. But, like, as far as, like, just down low scoring, like, they were more, like, down there in the paint. I was like more perimeter based and I could be more versatile like guarding people. So I'm like just, they like, nah, we gonna play all three of y 'all together.

51:15I'm like, man, this is somebody getting fired, bro. It's like somebody, it's not gonna work, bro. It's not gonna work. So I got the weight down and you know what I'm saying? I started figuring out the position probably like a month into the season. Cause you know, it's a different position playing in the three from the four. Yeah, yeah. He was chasing guys around screens and running through pick and roll. Hey, that's the scores position, the two, three in the lead. Man, Paul Lewis cooked me, bro, the first game I've seen the ball. He just got the 90 ball. He was like, yeah, that's why y 'all gave me the 90.

51:53It ain't nothing I can do, though. You know what I'm saying? I'm fighting through screens, contesting. I was so mad, bro. The next time we played him, I wore his ass out, though. I was like, bro, I can't pay T, bro. Like, they just had to be bad, bro. I had marked the calendar. I'm like, bro, wait till we play Indiana again. Oh yeah, oh yeah. He just got paid, man. He went slap off. Oh, y 'all, when y 'all boys left, man, it wasn't the same, dog. Hey, but it was a little better for you, though. I see you went ham out there. Yeah, I got the ball. It was a little different, but we ain't go out. I was still trying to hold on to the memories, bro.

52:37I'm going out by myself. I've invited people. Ain't nobody showing up. It was just different, bro. I can imagine, bro. But listen, y 'all brought some love to the city, bro. What y 'all made, Jeff, to the Eastern Conference? Yeah, we went out. Oh, yeah, y 'all playing against their Cleveland team with Bron, Kyrie. We went once. Yeah, we got swept, though, so. Damn. Hey, where y 'all be shooting at, T? Where y 'all be shooting the 520 at? We got a studio. In where? In Indianapolis. Oh yeah? Yeah, why you gonna come to the studio, man? Yeah, man, I'll pull up on y 'all, bro. You gotta come in town.

53:17We used to shoot at my crib. Oh, we don't shoot there no more, though. Smooth came to the crib. Came to the crib. Hey, I'll come there, man. I'll do some yoga with y 'all, man. Y 'all come do some yoga with me in Indianapolis. Hey, yeah, matter of fact, last time, yeah. I'm glad you said that. Hold on, smooth, last time we came to the letter, we came for Joe. Yeah, remember that? That's why. Y 'all had to sub me in. We done talked about this and got over this already, fellas. We done talked about it and got over it. We went up to the ISO yoga spot looking for him.

53:53We pulled up like, he might be here doing yoga, bro. We gonna pull up, bro. Hey, hey, listen, listen. Y 'all got a good yoga studio I like out there in Indiana, bro. I'm going to have to pull up on y 'all for real. I'll come out there, man, and, you know, y 'all come out there and bless the studio, man, see what y 'all got going on. Please do, bro. I do yoga. I've never done it before. I'll try it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Hey, check this out. We got more anonymous. Sources, Ramona Sherburn cites one source who argued Joel Embiid remains the most important player and most important star on the roster.

58:29You know, it comes down to Joel, if Tyrese, VJ, Jalen Brown, LeBron, if those guys, that's not a championship. They're saying that that's not a championship team, but if those four guys and Joel and B, that's a championship team. Meaning, if Joel ain't in the conversation, if he ain't able to get them 100%, if he ain't able to play, bro, it makes a huge difference. He's the difference maker in that Philly team. I know we going back to the Philly thing, but he's the difference maker to me. I don't know when the last time he's played 60 games. But, man, things got to change, bro. You know, you got two cats coming in who bonafide, you know, superstars and JB and Bron.

59:18I ain't going to lie. I'm excited for Philly, bro. I'm excited. They going to make some noise. We had a thing on the show the other day. Who do you think play more games, Embiid or AD? AD in a contract year. Who you got? AD. Think so? AD has played more. AD trying to go on SmackDown one more time. Who? AD? AD trying to go on SmackDown. Try another Max, huh? I think, but when you think about it, Washington may have to pay him, though. They may have to pay him, because why not? I mean, you're going to, just think about this. You got Trey. You got Trey over there at AD, obviously. you know, Washington probably going to make AD play a little bit before they just guap him down.

1:00:03Like, they probably going to guap him down before the season starts. You know what I mean? Like, he probably going to have to play and show that he's durable, that he can be able to make it through an 82-game season, bro. Like, hey, it's going to be different. I think they, go ahead, Smooth. I said, what they going to do this year? What y 'all think they going to do this year? I think they going to be good, but I think they trade AD because I think Alex R, man, he showed some promise last year. Damn, you don't think Alex Sar and AD can play together, though? Oh, they definitely can play together.

1:00:30But, like, why I'm going to pay AD a max deal when I got Alex Sar still on a rookie contract? And he going to get paid eventually. But think about this. Who going to pay AD a max deal? Is there any teams out here who going to pay him four years, five years, $215 million? Is there any teams going to do that, bro? I'd love if he went to Portland. I think Portland would even though they got a cheap owner or whatever they doing but like Portland with Dane and that crew they got over there they just missing him and they a real playoff team but I think hold on I think Washington a real playoff team too though Jeff y 'all don't think Washington I'm saying when I say a real playoff team a top hold on Jeff they got like Portland got like four point guards though, don't they?

1:01:23Yeah, I'm saying so. We start, we get rid of some of them and get AED. Who do you get rid of, though? You got Drew Holiday. I think Drew and Dame can play together. And who else? What's the school? They got John Morant, too. They got John Morant. Hold on, hold on. So who you saying they need to get rid of, T? I don't know. Out of them four, who you want to get rid of? I know Dame not going nowhere. Well, let me break something to y 'all.

1:02:00Ja Morant is like one of Nike's elite athletes. Top sellers. Top sellers. Y 'all know that Nike is in Portland. They ain't brought that man out there for him to come off no damn bench. I'm just hitting the hit. Oh no, he's starting for sure. That's why I think Drew Holiday might be on the move. yeah dang starting for sure like and and and when you look at it when you look in the playoffs last year when when uh portland played against the spurs school henderson has some good game one and two yeah he couldn't be stopped i don't know if y 'all really paid attention but game one and two couldn't be stopped he couldn't be stopped so i i can see them keeping a hold on to him and continue to develop him because i think he's gonna be a hell of a player he's always in great shape.

1:02:50I just think he need confidence and he need reps. Young guys, bro, you gotta let them play. You gotta let them play through them damn mistakes and just let it kind of unfold. You think if they don't get AD, they wouldn't be a top team, though? In the West? Yeah, with he had an all-star here, averaging 20-something. Dame coming back, you know Dame, he got a chip on his shoulder. He's about to try to prove something. You get AD and Klingon and he still got John Morant in that mix, he got something to prove, I think that's a dangerous team more than the Wizards. Like the Wizards, Trae Young got something to prove, but I just don't see them keeping AD with Alex Sar having the year that he had last year and the promise that he been showing.

1:03:36Yeah. Don't see it. And they got a bunch of young dudes on that team. A bunch. They got a bunch of young dudes who can go. My only problem with the Wizards is I don't want to see A.J. DeBonsa get lost in the sauce, meaning, you know, Trey trying to prove himself, AD trying to prove himself. That's why you got to move on. You got to trade AD, bro. Yeah, because you think about it, it's hard, man, for a rookie or for a phenom to come right into the league and guys just kind of defer to him. You know what I mean? Like, I ain't saying, you know, I don't think Trey, I ain't saying Trey ain't going to do that.

1:04:12I just think Trey is a hell of a facilitator that He can make the game a lot easier for AD and AJ. You know what I mean? And vice versa. You know, they talk about the defensive lows of Trey. But I think with all these long, athletic guys who can protect the rim, who can guard, because they ain't just got Trey, bro. They got some guys coming off their bench who can get money. Yeah. So I'm looking for the Wizards to be exciting. You know what I mean? I'm looking for Trey to get off. I'm looking to see AJ do his thing. I'm looking to see AD help change the culture over there, man. I think those dudes can be a hell of a playoff team in the East.

1:04:46You talking about sending AD to the West? The East better than the West now? I like them in Portland, though. You think the East better than the West now? Yeah. It's only OKC, Denver. We questioned Denver a little bit. Spurs. Spurs. OKC, Spurs. We questioned Denver a little bit. Then after that, who? What about Houston? Nah, I'm good. I'm good. Damn, I don't know. I don't know. I'm good. I'm good. I don't know if the East better than the West. Come on, you got Boston. They gonna be good. You got Philly gonna be good. Indiana getting Tyrese back. They gonna be good. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.

1:05:26I know you, I know you gonna throw your Indiana. I know you gonna throw your crazy. Hold on, I'm not even an Indiana fan though. But I'm just saying. Yeah, I already know, I already know. But, and you know my boy, Genero over there, he over there coaching. Sure, yeah. You know, so I try to roof. I seen him the other day at the gym. them. Yeah, yeah. I try to root for y 'all on the low, but I don't see it. I don't see it with the Pacers, bro. That just me, though. I don't see it. They just, hey, before Tyrese got hurt, we was top in the East. You still got Detroit, who was number one in the East last year.

1:05:55Nobody talking about them no more. Because I think they ain't going to, I don't think they, I don't think they too gun-ho about bringing big fella back. Nah, they not. They did. Who you talking about? Who? You said Dern? They paid him. Huh? They paid him. What they paying? He got like a two-something for five years. They did it already? They paid him. It wasn't the max, though, was it? That's damn near. That's overpaid. I ain't know he got paid yet. I'm happy for him. Hey, hey. Everybody, they get paid, for sure. It's the timing, bro. They got to pay him. They got to pay him, fellas. Think about that.

1:06:34I appreciate the timing, though. I'm happy for these young guys, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, because think about it. he was such a huge piece to what the Pistons did, bro. They can't just let that man walk, man. Now, they got to try to get somewhat of a discount. During the season, though. These folks done found a matrix in the game. They done found a glitch in the game when it comes to like, I'm just going to ball during the season. You feel me? Hopefully, I can go 20 and something in the season. And maybe hopefully, I have one good game in the playoffs and then I can knock the bag off.

1:07:11You get what I'm saying? The thing is, the regular season, you know, you can get by because teams ain't really game planning like that. You feel me? When we get to the post season. Yeah, when we get to the post season. Yeah, when we get to the post season, not only is it a half court game, but we trying to expose your weaknesses. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, if I'm an owner, if I'm a GM, right, what am I paying the guy for? Am I paying him for, granted I do want him to be healthy, right, I want him to play 82 games, but what am I really paying him for? Am I paying for him to get me a ring? You know what I'm saying?

1:07:50Or am I paying for him to be one of the impact players in the playoffs? Yeah, you paying for the hopes of winning the championship, winning the title, considering the fact that y 'all made it to the, what was that, the Eastern Conference semis, that was semis right seven games with cleveland yeah they probably feel like they really should have won that series yeah they they in hopes of damn all we need is a little more scoring maybe some more shooting you know around kade so we can take some of the load off because i just thought k he had to be too heroic in the postseason just for them to even just for them to even be in the damn game i'm like bro it's gonna be hard to win like that but that was so early in the process That's why I was like, why y 'all don't pay them?

1:08:34Y 'all in year two of this process, y 'all was just – y 'all made the playoffs. Then y 'all became number one. You're saying why they pay – you said why haven't they? I'm saying why wouldn't they? It's just early in the process of being a team. You know what I mean? Like, damn, like they were all in year 12. Okay, so – In year four. Question to y 'all, though, what do you pay that twin? Oh, he's going to prepare defenders. if he learned how to shoot a corner three that's what I'm saying though Joe go work with him but do you do you pay him before that like knowing that I'm saying he ain't up to he probably ain't up to what next summer right I think smooth I think if I'm Detroit I make sure young boy been in the gym all summer you gotta work on that catch and shoot You got to have that in today's game if you want to be one of the premier guys.

1:09:32Defensively, yeah, hell, he going to guard the best player. He going to wreck havoc. He going to be great on that end. I even think he can, you know, when he ain't out of control, you know what I mean, his driving ability is elite. I just think you got to be able to shoot nowadays, though, bro, especially if you're playing that two-three spot. Hell, even if you're the four-five, hell, if you can't shoot, you better be jumping over the damn moon to catch this lob. You know what I mean? I just think the way the game is today, you got to be able to score that ball. It's because I say that because at what point do I pay a guy for defense if the rules will keep changing for an offensive guy to be able to – it benefits the offense.

1:10:16He has to be so elite that I would want to pay him$90 million. Because if I'm paying him$90 million and he really can't stop nobody, you get what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. I done wasted my 90 million. Yeah. Nah, I think he got so much room for development. You know how it go. People can't shoot. You remember like, okay, like Avery Bradley was an elite defender. Drew Holiday probably was the best perimeter defender I've ever seen in my days of playing. So I'm like... Hold on, hold on, hold on. You think Drew Holiday was better than, what's the little guard who was in Boston, Jeff, who should pick guys from - Avey Bradley.

1:10:57Avey Bradley. I said Avey Bradley, yeah. No, boy. No, two, boy. Yeah, they was nasty, bro. So I say like those two, I'm like, you know, but what, like, who in today's game is like a really a lockdown defender? He is. Asura Thompson is. Yeah. Okay. What about his brother? What about his brother the same way too? Yeah, but his brother got a little more G, though. He got some game. But he got a little bit more. His brother nice. Yeah, his brother can go. He probably got a little more offensive package than him. But, man, when I seen him. That one in Detroit, the dog, though, bro. I seen him, like, up close.

1:11:39He ain't really going like that. He ready to fight and everything. Yeah, like, dang. I'm like, okay. Hey, when I seen the regiment that those two twins went through when they was in high school just preparing for hoops just to be in shape conditioning bro that's different bro i think them dudes was running like crazy miles doing crazy push-ups you know that i think i don't know if it was a dad or not but they had somebody pushing them and they understand that because them boys gonna be in some shape and they gonna play hard like you say the one in detroit he just gotta find that jump shot bro he fine because he's getting too many wide open looks and the post and i'm like damn i'm talking about they wasn't even hitting the rim fellas i'm just keep reading i'm a fan i'm saying like you wide open like that boy that's demoralizing you swinging to somebody and they ain't hitting the rim hey that remind me of the game we had when i was young you passed it to me for the game winner against boston i hear about them

1:12:40i looked i tried to shake your hair everybody's just shaking their head hey listen let me tell you something let me tell you something man when i first got here at atlanta bro uh you know smooths shoot a lot of jump shots so uh and they come in in in unopportune time so coach would come to me it'd be mike woodson he'd be like hey man you gotta go tell josh he'd be like me again he'd be like you gotta tell josh when that ball swing them he need to dry don't shoot that damn ball no more so i go i go right to smooth look him dead in his face he'll look me dead in my face t i said hey smooth don't shoot that no more man drive or if your man go trap you follow that ball gets swung to smooth what he do he let that go

1:13:24i remember what i remember y 'all had a bet with him bro and he wouldn't shoot three that he just shot off 15 footers i can't remember what year that was i had one of the best seasons of my life You was hooping bro. I was, I was, I should have got all-star that year. I thought you was gonna be an all-star that year for sure. Hey, it's a lot different when you locked in and then pitch a dude, bro, he don't even warm up. Like, how you don't warm up for the game? Like, I gotta go out there and see if the rim's soft, what that neck swish on the day. You ain't see it being soft in the morning time?

1:13:58You know what I'm saying? How much warming up shooting we wanna do? We go shoot around, nut. We hit that thing for about an hour, an hour and a half. Oh, yeah. Okay, then boom, we go back home. We come back, shoot some more. Okay, so then it's only a 15-minute slot. So I'm coming in there. If I hit two or three in a row, hey, man, I got to go back inside. I'm only shooting eight to nine shots a game. So, you know, I know where they coming from. You know what I'm saying? I know when I get the rebound, you're going to run with me to get you some open looks. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hold on, hold on. When you get the rebound now, I'm sprinting to the corner.

1:14:38I know you're going to do a 360 pass. It's going to be a bullet to the corner. Ain't nobody know it's coming but me. I said, oh, yeah, I know you see me over here. This point I wanted to a crossover, a jump, spin, five ball it to the corner. Okay, cool. I got you, Smooth. Don't worry about it. It's on the way. It's on the way. I got to get my guy easy to look, man. That shit, they were tipping on you on the offensive end. Hey, I appreciate you, bro. Hey, the one thing I always say. That's what made me feel like, my bad, made me feel like you was the coldest, because it's like, you know, you and everybody's scout report.

1:15:13You know what I'm saying? Still giving dudes buckets, tearing their ass up. You know what I'm saying? So that's why I'm like, okay, I got to find my man some kind of open look. Hey, I appreciate that. I was glad when T figured it out, too. Hell, T, find your boy over here, man. Let me get an open one. You know they all on me. I can't even get a good damn look, man. The thing I appreciate about y 'all, your IQ for the game was super high. Like, for me knowing Smooth, I knew him from high school because he was committing to Indiana and all that stuff. So I just knew he could jump. But when I got there, I'm like, this dude really know basketball.

1:15:49Like, he had a super high IQ. Obviously, I knew he was a good defender and all that stuff. But his IQ for the game was so high. Obviously, J-Yo's IQ was super high, too. And I was like, damn. And Bibi's IQ was off the charts. he knew how to do everything sneaky he knew how to get away without playing no defense he knew everything I'm like bro y 'all IQ was off the chart bro I learned a lot from y 'all Bibby was super what do you say smooth? you told me they ain't bring me in here to wild y 'all with my defense nah yeah he was like Josh you got me right he said you got my back don't you I said yeah I got you Hey, listen, I swear to y 'all, the funniest team I ever been on in life, bro, is when we got Jamal Crawford here.

1:16:35Oh, man. Jamal Crawford, Bibby, and you two. Man, that was a hilarious team. When y 'all hung Moe clothes up, man. Oh, man. One of the greatest moments of my life, man. We had a not-so-serious team if I ever been on round one in my life, bro, but we had a lot of fun man we and we had a lot of fun that was one of the greatest teams i've ever been a part of i'm like these dudes is crazy y 'all ain't listening to nothing woody saying before the game i throw a paper at him i'm nervous because he mean to me so i'm nervous like he talking i'm looking at him y 'all throwing paper at him it was a hey it was that damn bibby bro bibby ain't had no chill it was him bro you getting bibby y 'all gonna have bibby on here?

1:17:24We need to. I need to. I don't have to hear. I'm going to tell you what you're going to do. We're going to try to control the whole thing so y 'all don't tell what's going on. You know what I'm saying? Man, it was a bad influence. I'm just going to keep it at me. I ain't going to go to elaborate and none of that. Bibi held it down, but that was my guy, man. Yeah, that was my dude, bro. That's the film.
