In short

The hosts debate major NBA business and roster rumors: (1) Mark Cuban’s legal/financial complaints about the Mavericks’ new ownership and a proposed arena move, especially around Luka Doncic’s trade; (2) Stephen Curry’s reported active recruiting of LeBron James; and (3) whether LeBron should join the Warriors or other teams, plus broader arguments about player value, work ethic, and contract risk. They also discuss why certain trades look “bad” in hindsight and how injuries/work habits can affect decisions.

Guests (hosts)

Chad Ochocinco Johnson (former NFL player; Bengals ring of fame; pro bowler/all-pro; co-host). Joe Johnson (former NBA All-Star; Atlanta Hawks; University of Arkansas; co-host). The third host is “Unk” (Zach is mentioned in ads; no clear sports background is provided in the transcript).

Key claims

Cuban says new Mavericks ownership cut him out of basketball operations and that he was unaware of the Luka-to-Lakers trade until too late; he also alleges adversarial practices and a move north of downtown. The hosts argue LeBron is highly valued despite “nobody wants him” narratives, and that a Steph-LeBron fit could work (Steph can space; LeBron can facilitate). They also claim Dallas “didn’t maximize” Luka’s value and that injury/work-ethic concerns can drive supermax decisions.

Notable examples

Luka Doncic trade to the Lakers; Nico Harrison and Rob Pelinka connections; Mavericks arena/acres option for a 2031 opening; comparisons to AD-for-Zion trade logic; NFL trade example (Rams trading Jared Goff for Matthew Stafford); references to Klay Thompson’s declining numbers and contract logic.

Mark Cuban is accusing Dallas Mavericks Governor Patrick Dumont appreases the team's former majority owner out of business opportunities and a proposed move of the club out of downtown. Dallas Morning News reported today that Cuban alleges Dumont has engaged in adversarial business practices and a bid to move the team about 10 miles north of downtown to the former site of the Dallas Mall.

7:10Shannon Sharpe:Cuban sold majority stake in 2023 to the family of Miriam Adelson and Dumont, who is Adelson's son-in-law. Cuban said he had an agreement to continue running basketball operations but Dumont gave former general manager Nico Harrison full control of basketball side. Cuban said in the filing he was unaware of Harrison's plan to trade superstar Luka Doncic to the Lakers in a February 25th straight until it was too late to object and call out the trade. Cuban owns 27 % of the Mavericks, but the newspaper reported there is a clause in the purchase agreement that allows Adelson and Dumont family to buy another 20 % of Cuban state.

7:46Shannon Sharpe:The filing by Cuban comes a little more than a month after Dallas Mavericks signed an option agreement to purchase approximately 104 acres in North Dallas. Part of the plan is to build an arena that would be open in 2031. Joe, what are we to make? Joe, no joke. Joe, I'm going to throw it to you first. What are we to make of this? Seems to me like our Cubans have a little bowels of remorse. Yeah, hey, look, they talking about moving a team. hey they already you know got rid of luca the people in dallas the people in texas gonna be they're gonna be ticked off now you know i don't know how much more they're gonna be able to take okay ocho yes you know what i'm saying because that that's the you know dallas is a is a big market bro they got a they have a committed fan base you know what i mean so hey i don't know what they got going but they they they shaking some things up listen if they if they shaking

8:42Joe Johnson:things up, I'm not sure where Dallas, the Mavericks are located right now. I'm not sure how far North Dallas may be, but anytime ownership or GMs or people in positions of power want to make a move, obviously it's for money and economical reasons. I mean, maybe they feel moving to North Dallas will be better for the team long term. I'm not sure what it may be. That's the only thing I can think of.

9:05Shannon Sharpe:It seems to me that Mark Cuban is having a little buyer's remorse. He sees the way these prices are going at astronomical. Now he sold his and now he sees now all of a sudden 7 billion, 8 billion, 10 billion. He sees that and he's like, what have I done? What have I done? Because, and I know he said that, look, I don't want my kids, put my kids in a situation where they're fighting over this. I'm going to make it easy for them. There's nothing going to be able to fight over. And so oh, you know, I'll have this, this will be on the trust. You get this, you get this, you get this. The one thing that will not tear apart, will not tear my family apart, as I've seen it tear so many other families apart, is a franchise, a sports franchise, be it football, basketball, baseball, whatever the case may be.

9:53Shannon Sharpe:But now Mark Cuban is seeing the way these franchises are going and what the prices they're going for. He's like, damn, Joe, I undersold by four, five billion dollars. It's too late. You don't get, you don't, I don't get to sell Ocho my car. And then Ocho pays. Like, Ocho, why you paying my car, man? I bought it, damn it.

10:15Joe Johnson:Right. Yeah. But hold on. Now, Mark Cuban, a very savvy businessman with a great understanding of the market, especially the NBA, on how it operates. I think the NFL, the NBA, and the MLB are one of the few franchises or just entities in general that would never depreciate. It continues to climb year in, year out, Joe, no matter what. So at what point, why would he even have buyer's remorse in any shape, way, form, or fashion if you understand that it's always going to continue to rise? It's never going to depreciate in any way. I don't understand.

10:47Shannon Sharpe:Yes, I understand 2%, 3%, 5 % growth over a period of time. Ochoa, I didn't expect to sell the thing for$4 billion and now all of a sudden it's worth$8 billion in two years? Okay. Yeah. And he didn't expect to the people who bought it that they would damn him get rid of Luca neither. You know what I mean? Like, I don't think Mark Cuban had any say-so in Luca getting traded. Hell, he probably didn't even know if you want me to keep it real. He didn't know until it was too late. And so, by that premise, because he said he had a deal in place to keep running basketball operations. But the owner, Jamal, the son-in-law of Miriam Adelson, who's the wife of Sheldon Adelson, who passed away, they cut him out.

11:34Well, look, when you're dealing with this kind of money,

11:38Shannon Sharpe:when you're dealing with this, ain't no handshake. I want it in writing that I'm going to continue to run basketball operations for two years, three years, five years, or for as long as I deem necessary. Because the thing is, you know, it's just like anything. A contract used to be a meeting of the minds. Joe had a farm. He had grain. He had stuff like that. I had livestock. I would say, you know what, Joe? I'll give you a couple of cows. You give me a you know corn you give me wheat you give me up like that We had a handshake deal did all of a sudden Jodo after Jordan got my cattle Joe I don't want to come come up.

12:14Shannon Sharpe:Yo don't want to come off the grain So I had so now we got to have a contract we got to have Eight by 10 or whatever is written on the paper this little square thing you judge you to say uh-uh What is this? What does this say? so clearly he didn't have that and And I think the fact, I think the biggest thing is, is that because they're talking about these two in Seattle, this team and the owner of the Golden Knights, it seems to be he's put a team together. They say this thing can go somewhere between eight and ten billion dollars. OK, so yeah. Hold on.

12:50Joe Johnson:You talk about the NBA team, Las Vegas, Jack. I saw that. You saw that.

12:54Shannon Sharpe:That money gets split between the owners. Okay. So, hey, we're looking at, you know, three, four hundred million dollars per owner. Two teams. That's six, eight hundred million. Go ahead, Joe. Damn, I didn't know that. So, if you buy a professional team, then if you have to spend four billion, that spreads out through the owners? Yes. Mm. Yes. That's why they're big. they're very selective who they let in they're gonna make sure who they let in not only must you be able to like okay purchase it but you're gonna probably need somewhere north of probably 400 million dollars cash of operating expense

13:39Joe Johnson:hey hey listen i i know a couple people and i can get we can get in business with and buy

13:43Shannon Sharpe:us hey hey hey guess what i know a couple people too okay ojo who hey everything used to be used to be guys they give they might let you have a one percent and let you be a minority owner let you be the face of something but this right stuff is over because 10 now is a billion dollars there ain't very many people that's sitting on a billion dollars that can just say you know what i want 10 of this and the people that have it they don't necessarily want you to be a part of it so that That limits a lot of people there. And people are like, well, now, I mean, to get a franchise now, like you said, I mean, you see, they say the Seahawks, they're going to go somewhere 7.5, 8, maybe even 9 billion.

14:33Shannon Sharpe:Who, who, I mean, and somebody has to own 50 % of that. Because they used to be, that's what, because it used to be, you know, people tried to like, well, you own 25, you own, no, that you got to have somebody that's a majority. Somebody needs to own 51 % of it. And so that's what it looks like to me. Now I could be wrong, but it seems to me is that, bro, you sold it. You sold it. And I know you didn't anticipate them trading Luka, but guess what else you didn't anticipate? You didn't anticipate, and we see what happened, and I felt this way. You see what they said about Jalen Brown? They saw what Luka's level was going to be.

15:18Shannon Sharpe:And I don't believe they wanted to pay that, Joe. Based on what you heard about some of his practice habits, the injury history that he had, you know, they started calling, you know, they started reporting he was Uka Doncic. And it's like, hold on. This man is 25. By the time this man is 30, we're going to end up having to pay this man$400,$450 million in a contract. Yeah. Yeah, I'm with you. The owner, that was his call. But guess what? Poop rolls down here. So it had to land on Nico's desk. Go ahead, Joe. Yeah, no, I'm with you. They definitely didn't want to pay Luka that money, man. You know what I think, for real, Arcan Ocho?

16:01Shannon Sharpe:If Luka had one of them work ethics to where, like, you know, like Bron got, for instance, trying to be one of the greats. Obviously, he's a hell of a player, but I just, I felt like Dallas seeing the behind-the-scenes things with Luka as far as eating habits or whether it's drinking beer after the game, whatever the case may be, and they didn't feel like it was a great investment, bro. At the end of the day, they didn't feel like it was a great investment, so they moved on.

16:29Joe Johnson:You know what's funny when I think about it, too? Knowing that the Lakers have always had a franchise player. They've always had an all-star. Obviously, you have a team like L.A. they would have needed someone even with LeBron being there they would need someone with the cachet and and the facial profiling to to say this is the face of the Los Angeles Lakers I think a move and you look at the landscape of the NBA before Luka left even though he was in Dallas they needed somebody who was next up that can carry that torch and be in the face of that franchise I think even if his habits were good Uncle Joe even if even if he did train even if he didn't drink hookah or drink beer you know coming out the tunnel whatever it may have been and we saw that clip, I think he might have still been traded anyway because they needed that piece.

17:12Joe Johnson:They needed that figure in L.A. to represent being that star, being that L.A. always has money, always needs.

17:19Shannon Sharpe:Well, the Lakers definitely needed that. There was a connection between Rob and Nico. Nico was Kobe's right-hand guy. Rob Palenka was Kobe's agent. So there was a natural connection. Now people start to believe it because when the trade happened, what did everybody say? LeBron knew. LeBron knew. Come to find out LeBron ain't no shit. The agents didn't even know. Two people knew. Nico Harrison and Rob Palenka. It wasn't until the day it was about to get consummated that Jeannie Buss was looped into it. Yeah. Hey, we have this. Oh, obviously she's going to agree with it. because you can't let this get – you can't run the risk, Ocho, of this getting out because now you create a bidding war.

18:14Shannon Sharpe:Hey, that's all y 'all getting? Max Christie, AD, and a first-round draft pick? We got this player. Hey, hold up, bro. What now? Hey, Boston Celtics. We got Jalen Brown and three first-round draft picks. Unprotected. This team said we got this player, that player, and five unprotected. That's a 25-year-old, a five-time first-team All-NBA selection. He's 25. Do you know how far you got to go back to find a guy that age with that many first-time All-NBA selections? You're probably going to have to go back to Kobe, and you're probably going to have to go back to LeBron. Yeah, yeah. But you saw the number that he was in line for damn near$400 million.

19:00Shannon Sharpe:and they just didn't feel that that was a great investment at the time because it tie you it tie your hands bro yes to where you you know you put all that money in one player okay ocho hell it's hard to kind of fill out your roster you know you we talking about nowadays you know guys taking haircuts and uh you know teams trying to feel like they rostered have more depth obviously trying to you know uh uh copy what what the knicks did but hey man it's still some guys out here who can tow the team to a title yeah for sure yeah every team what i'm saying is every team ain't gonna have no damn four or five guys coming off the bench who's gonna be able to contribute like that i mean you're gonna have some you may have some great pieces but it's two three of them guys in that starting five will be able to get you to where

19:48Joe Johnson:you're trying to go you know what almost you know what i don't like in a sense especially when it comes to business uh especially these organizations you think about the players uncle joe they work they tail off all they like to get to a certain point where they have where they are of extreme value to a team based on them being an asset and very valuable entity to whatever franchise they're playing for and then all of a sudden you tell me well you know what you're too good there's some things i don't like about you so we we don't want to invest that kind of money in you i mean that that that's kind of this is more of a gift and a curse as good as luke is okay you know what we're gonna find something wrong with you so we don't have to invest this kind of money even though you're as good as you are.

20:29Joe Johnson:That's ass backwards, Joe.

20:31Shannon Sharpe:If that's Steph Curry, you think they're doing this? They're trading Steph? Absolutely not. If that's LeBron, you think they're doing that?

20:38Joe Johnson:No.

20:39Shannon Sharpe:They're safe. That's your answer right there. If I'm spending that kind of money, it can't be helter-skelter. It can't be no junk bonds. It's got to be blue-chip stocks. And I think the thing is when they started looking at it, it's like, if we because, look, I don't know if it's true or not. But you start hearing rumblings. What? You start hearing rumblings where they say, well, you know, they're looking at it like this, guys. If he hard to deal with now and he making$100 million, what can we tell him, Joe, if he making$400 million? How do we get him to move? How do we get him to do certain things?

Read the full transcript

21:17Shannon Sharpe:Now, I'm not saying, look, they might just be sorting this man up. But I'm just saying when you're difficult to deal with, and that is a calculated decision that teams have to make when they invest that kind of money. If he's hard to deal with now, Ocho, I give you that kind of money. How do I get you to do anything, Ocho? If it's hard for me to get you to do something for$100 million, I give you$400 million. And I know it's guaranteed. Go ahead, guys. But when you think about it, that's why I say the Mavs got cheated because we never got to see Kyrie AD together. We never got to see though. So listen.

22:00Shannon Sharpe:Kyrie AD and Cooper Flagg. Yeah, we never got to see. We got cheated out of that. We don't know what that could have been like. You know what I'm saying? So I think the way Kyrie was playing because he was at the top of his game still. Yes, he was. You know, balling out of control. I think that and not having enough defense, you know, in the postseason, especially in the finals when they lost in the finals that year, I think that's why it was so easy to get rid of Luka because you're like, damn, well, we get rid of Luka and we still got Kyrie playing at a high level. We bring in AD. Not only do we get better defensively, but now we have a low post presence to where we got a guy we can throw the ball to and he go get us a bucket or a foul versus having two guys on the perimeter trying to go for 35.

22:47Shannon Sharpe:You feel what I'm saying? So I think I understand that everybody's mad about the trade. But damn, I just feel like we never got to see what Dallas really could have been, bro. Yeah. Are they mad about the trade? Or are they mad that the Mavericks didn't maximize trade value for what they had? If it's Aesop and I trade my entire kingdom for a horse, I got shortchanged.

23:14Joe Johnson:Well, not really. because think about it. How are you going to get the value for Luka? What are you going to get back for Luka? Because okay let's say you get number one pick right? Those number one picks aren't really expected. Who said they're going to be equivalent to what Luka is that you have right now because he's proven.

23:30Shannon Sharpe:They said that about Paul George too. How did Shea turn out? He did okay? How J-Dub doing? He doing okay? What about Chet? He had a bad series but he doing okay? Because that's what they got from Paul George. Now, everybody can't pick like that. But those are the risks that you have to take if you trade get off a guy. You believe in your scouting department enough in their eye and their ability to judge and recruit talent, okay. Yeah. So think about it. Now, they go from – OKC go from being a fourth or a fifth seed. Now, they're perennial. number one seeds for the last three years they've been the number one seed in the west all thanks to that trade and sometimes look sometimes you don't get value back you trade kareem you don't get that value back or you trade a certain guy you don't get that value back you never know i think it's just the fact of the matter is that they traded a guy and they said that's all you got and you see what desmond bain goes for you see what mikhail bridges go for you see what some of these other guys go for and all you guys and i and i hate saying all because anthony davis is a top 75 player he's a 10-time nba all-star he's a multiple-time all nba selection and he's a perennial in the running for a defensive player of the year so he's a phenomenal player but 25 year old luca that's averaging 28 points he might have if i'm not mistaken he has the third highest average behind Jordan, Wilt, and then Luka points per game in NBA history.

25:07Shannon Sharpe:If I'm not mistaken, he has the second most highest points per game in playoff history behind Jordan.

25:15Joe Johnson:That's crazy.

25:16Shannon Sharpe:It is, Ocho. It absolutely is.

25:18Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe. Joe, I couldn't be in a position to make calls like that. I couldn't be in a position to say who goes and who stays because the eye test, the number test, forget analytics. What am I seeing on the court? Yeah. I'm not letting a player like that go, who's my franchise, the face of my franchise, and he's going to deliver on the court because he smoked some goddamn hookah. Joe, please.

25:40Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey. Come on, man. I think when you look at it, Ocho, you got to understand, AD's biggest flaw is that he was injury prone. And the worst thing for a Maverick fan was for AD to get that ball out of control his first game, okay, Ocho, 26-12 and then had to leave because he couldn't finish the game because he got hurt the first game. That's the worst damn thing. That's the worst damn thing could have happened. You know what I mean? But it happened. And unfortunately, it's been downhill. It was downhill from the Mavericks ever since then. So that's why the trade looks so bad because AD never got to reach his full potential in Dallas on what it could have been because I thought it could have been a great match with him and Kyrie.

26:23Shannon Sharpe:Obviously, Cooper flagged, but unfortunately, it didn't work. So, you know, I think that's why the trade really, really looks so bad because it's like, damn, then you end up trading AD to Washington. It's like, damn. Come on, bro. So now we don't really have, now we got Max Christ in a first round draft pick to show for what we get for Luka. But I think the thing also that scared him is that Luka injury history. Luka had started to get injured, Joe, he had started to miss some games. And we saw that this year when the playoffs, even in the series that they got to the finals, he has started to limp.

26:58Shannon Sharpe:So the injury is like, man. And as you get older, if you don't work out, the injuries go up. They keep you down longer. They do, bro. Because you know the guys who play big minutes in the NBA, they ain't doing a whole hell of a lot outside of game day. You know what I mean? Because they play so many minutes, 35, 40 minutes, Hell, that's what's going to keep them in shape. Now, what you got to hope is that they have a great work ethic, eating habits, things of that sort to kind of keep their body in great shape. But if you don't, bro, this is kind of what you're dealing with. But in hindsight, for me, I feel like Dallas got lucky here.

27:42Shannon Sharpe:They got the number one pick right there. They got Cooper flag. Same thing with New Orleans. When New Orleans traded AD, what did they get? Zion. Yep. Damn. And he's going to be the next one on the move, by the way. For sure. Who that? Zion. I know Joe Dumas don't want to get up out for him, but it's about time.

28:01Joe Johnson:Hey, boy, he nice, Joe. Got to put him with the – But listen, when he healthy, oh, my goodness.

28:07Shannon Sharpe:But that's what you – If you look at the great – If you look at like Jordan, Jordan broke his foot in his second year. Then after that, Jordan was relatively healthy. Jordan was playing 82, 80 games for like the next – I mean, obviously he took that time off after the 90, what was that, 93 season, so 94. He's this and then came back halfway through 95. And then he played all of 96, 97, 98. And then he's off for a couple of years. And that's what you want. I mean, you look at Kobe. Kobe was relatively healthy his whole career until when the injury started. Man, they just started piling up. You know, he tore his labrum and then he had the Achilles and he started dealing with, He just started dealing with a plethora of injuries.

28:50Shannon Sharpe:But that was like year 13, 14. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You look at LeBron. LeBron didn't get injured basically until he got to L.A. That first year where he tweaked his groin. But you got to realize LeBron was in year 16. Yeah. So, and that's the thing. When you invest that kind of money, man, you just ROI. You want your return on investment. And you never know. And like you said, Ojo, a lot of times when you trade a guy like that, you don't know what you're going to get. I mean, sometimes it's a pretty good tradeoff. The Rams traded Jerry Goff and they get Matthew Stafford. I think it's been a great situation for the Rams.

29:30Shannon Sharpe:It's not like – but Matthew Stafford was always this. He was just in Detroit and people just like – he's throwing for a bunch of yards. People don't realize Matthew Stafford threw for over 5 ,000 yards and 40-something touchdowns. That might have been 2011 or 2012. Chad, go back and look it up. And the man didn't make the Pro Bowl.

29:49Joe Johnson:yeah the boy got a cannon listen that's a safe trade huh that's a trade where you know what you're getting so you're not even hesitant on a trade like that to let jerry goff go and we're gonna put mass stafford over here with the weapons that we have yeah if you can do what he was doing in detroit in a in a uh really not a winning situation and we put him over in la what you

30:07Shannon Sharpe:think gonna happen but guess what when i put him in la guess what i bring with him what's that EXPEC TA T-I-O-N Expectations Expectations The expectations in Detroit is a little different than the expectations because guess what we got to the Super Bowl with Jerry Goff not only are we expecting you to get us there we expecting you to get us over the hump

30:35Joe Johnson:Hello What did he do? Like Amazon Like Amazon

30:41Shannon Sharpe:He did. He did it. So, look, that's just my – Chad, I don't know what y 'all think, but I think a part of me thinks Mark. And I love sitting down because he's a very, very smart guy. He loves it. He loves basketball. He's one of the few owners that – he ain't up in the box. He was the first one doing what you see the guy from the Clippers do. Mark Cuban was doing that way back when. Yeah. He was doing that with Steve Ballmer. That was Mark Cuban way back then. Yeah. Mark Cuban running on the – David Stern stayed in Mark Cuban's pockets. Hey, let me get$500 out of that. Let me get a$250. Let me get a$100.

31:22Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey. Hey, that's like giving my kids$2 here. Here, you can have it. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, Cuban wasn't messed up about none of that. Nothing. He called – hey, the official – he was talking about the official was terrible and all that. But, Mark, I mean, I think part of you, like, man, I sure wish I had probably waited a couple more.

35:42Shannon Sharpe:For years. Stephen Curry says he's been texting LeBron as the rest of the NBA world awaits his free agency decision. We've obviously talked. He deserves all the patience and space to figure out what he wants to do with his career as it winds down. We all understand and appreciate that. I would love to play with him, and hopefully that would be a reality soon. But hold on. What happened to this notion that we hear some of these, nobody wants LeBron? Did you see the clip where they tried to prank Giannis and somebody he had signed with somebody else. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know what I'm saying?

36:14Shannon Sharpe:He did. Let me see. Let me see. Let me see. But let them tell you nobody wants LeBron.

36:21Joe Johnson:But you have to understand, huh, that nobody wants to play with LeBron? That's coming from the outside. No, no, no.

36:25Shannon Sharpe:I ain't saying nobody wants to play with him. They're making it seem like nobody wants him. Like Golden State really doesn't want him. Miami really doesn't want him. Cleveland really doesn't want him. Philly really doesn't want him. No, they can't. You know better than that. They can't pay him his true value. nobody has 50 million dollars to pay to a 42 year old and they're not going to pay that but this notion what we were hearing joe and ocho nobody wanted him oh there's no market out there for him

36:54Joe Johnson:are we serious right right yeah that's a bunch of bull that's a bunch of bulljav you know any anybody with common sense anybody with any basketball knowledge even if you're not really a fan of the game you know that lebron has value based on what he was doing in la even the third option and then when Luca and also Reed went down seeing what LeBron did and being able to carry a team at 41 years old and still be able to operate you know efficiently at a level offensively obviously somewhat of a liability defensively because he can't sit in the chair like he used to he's extremely valuable but obviously going to a team where he doesn't have to do much except facilitate and when I want to pick and choose the moments where I want to score he can do that again I love Steph I love Steph's comments and wanting to play with LeBron LeBron is very fond of Steph and he's always wanted to play with him.

37:40Joe Johnson:But if they're going to do that, listen, they can do it in the offseason. They can golf. They can play in the Summit. In New York. They can golf together. They can play in the Summit and the offseason and train together. But as far as competing at the highest level to contend for a title, this ain't the time for like a goddamn reunion. What do you mean? Why not? Listen, if LeBron is going to play and have some fun, he can have fun in the offseason. If he's going to play going at 42 years old the expectations are through the roof he needs to be on a team where he can conduct himself in the right manner where there's not that much pressure on him and all the pressure going to be on the others around him it won't be a bunch of pressure on him in Golden State

38:25Shannon Sharpe:he's playing in the West Joe I know but you got to relax slow down Turbo you got to hear me out hear me out think about it two of the greats you know obviously on their last leg their games compliment one another Steph is he gonna open up the floor for Braun just as much as Braun gonna open up the floor for Steph to get wide open shots I listen personally I wouldn't mind seeing him in Golden State okay Ocho because of the fit because both of them you know it's not like obviously if you go to Miami that'll be good Ocho but it's not like that it's not like Giannis and Braun because both of them kind of need the balls.

39:06Shannon Sharpe:You know what I mean? Steph don't really need the ball to be effective. Bro, I can facilitate. You know, they play great team defense. Hell, they ain't got nobody really sliding them puppets like that outside of Draymond who's gonna really sit down in that chair and guard. But, I think collectively, that unit that they're trying to build in Golden State, Ocho, I think it'll be must-see TV, bro.

39:29Joe Johnson:No, not at all. Not at all. Who they got on defense? Just Draymond, right?

39:32Shannon Sharpe:You gotta take your heart out of it, though. You got too

39:34Joe Johnson:much emotion listen no no listen my heart is out of it my heart is out of it so basically you're putting yourself back in a legged situation with just a the best shooter of all time that's all you're doing because ain't nobody can't nobody play no damn defense but what then you got to deal with the spurs then you got to deal with the nuggets then you got to deal with um hold on what's my other team the thunder guess what what it looks cute yeah yeah them teams got to deal with them

39:57Shannon Sharpe:too huh them same teams you hollering about they're gonna have to deal with go to state too you act like Golden State gonna be the G League to you.

40:05Joe Johnson:I mean, what they hey Joe, come on man, we talk about players on their last leg even as great as they are. Even as great as they are, they're gonna have to do too much they have to exert too much to be able to compete with them young boys, man. I don't think so

40:18Shannon Sharpe:I don't think so. I'm sorry, I don't think so

40:21Joe Johnson:Y 'all don't listen to me. I don't

40:23Shannon Sharpe:think so. I think they'll have enough guys to work collectively as a unit, bro. They'll be effective. Meaning they'll be probably a top five team in the Western Conference. And they got Przingis that can protect the rim. Draymond, Przingis. The only thing that concerns me about him is... Hey, hold on.

40:42Joe Johnson:The one that was with the Celtics? The one that's always hurt? Oh, yeah.

40:47Shannon Sharpe:Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, look. Joe, I said it from the beginning. For me, the best fit for him, he's going to have the ball in his hand all the time it's Golden State yeah because like you said Steph doesn't lead the ball that's why he and Steph look so good at the Olympics that's why him, Steph and KD look so good at the Olympics because Steph and KD don't need the ball LeBron is going to fight look at LeBron finding wide open KD wide open because Steph is running around and you got two guys go with him and now somebody, hey, don't. I think, and what's underrated, Ocho, is that Bron's high IQ for the game, you know, that's so underrated because he will use Steph, Draymond, whoever else he got around him, he will use them to his advantage, bro.

41:48Shannon Sharpe:I think that'll be a good fit, but I also think it's a few other teams that'll be a good fit.

41:53Joe Johnson:so hey listen brawn iq is probably better seen you know um but because his iq is what it is and we've seen it over the years i understand he's smart enough and understands that golden estate is not the right place to go it's not the right place for me like even though it looks good on paper i would love the everything look good on paper miami looked good on paper philly look good

42:17Shannon Sharpe:on paper go yeah all of them look good on paper but game how you play yeah i understand i'm just saying i'm i'm okay you got defense in miami tell me you're shooting tim hardaway that's one person you told me draymond was the only one that can play defense who's your other shooter uh clay would be there he ain't there now i'm talking about who's there

42:40Joe Johnson:i mean i'm not supposed to be revealing this information but i'm just throwing it out yeah but i'm saying all right nobody wanted to listen oh you're talking about the clay right

42:52Shannon Sharpe:his numbers have dropped every year he's not the same defender nor the same consistent shooter that

42:56Joe Johnson:he was that clay yeah that clay and things things will change you know the spacing on the floor will be a lot better for him to be able to you know pop and shoot like like he normally has in

43:06Shannon Sharpe:the past yeah yeah you look at somebody you look at some of the teams and situations he's been in

43:11Joe Johnson:that's why his numbers have declined. Nothing wrong with him, actually. Oh, okay. You're saying he just ain't playing with great players. Yeah, yeah. He's been on some bad situations. I mean, Joe, my bad. Hold on. Y 'all need to understand. Hold on. Wasn't he there with

43:29Shannon Sharpe:Luka and Kyrie? They're not great? Yeah. Huh? I thought that's why he wanted to go. That's why he spurned. Hold on. Didn't he spurn the Lakers to go to Dallas?

43:41Joe Johnson:because hold on hold on hold on hold on and when he was in Dallas you talk about with Luca when Luca was there did you see the numbers did you see Luca's usage rate when he was there huh he wasn't even able to shoot the ball as much as he wanted to see what are we talking about hold on hold on hold on let me let me yeah let me show you I got ball knowledge I'm ready

44:02Shannon Sharpe:so what was the excuse in Golden State wait what happened to go to state he he he you mean the the golden state the smash brother yeah

44:12Joe Johnson:yeah yeah that's right what happened there wasn't nothing wrong with him now oh yeah it wasn't

44:19Shannon Sharpe:nothing wrong with him yeah he was so why they get rid of him why they get rid of him then the same

44:24Joe Johnson:reason they get rid of everybody else why do we get rid of um why the mads get rid of luca no they

44:29Shannon Sharpe:ain't the same reason. Luka leading the league and scored. That ain't a compelling argument. You do realize Luka has 70, what, 73? You saw that game. Luka had a 60-point trooper number. They ain't getting rid of the same reason.

44:42Joe Johnson:Listen to me. Take your time, now. Take your time. Why did they, we know ball now, right?

44:47Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

44:48Joe Johnson:Why did they get rid of Klay?

44:49Shannon Sharpe:His numbers have started to slip.

44:55Yeah.

44:56Joe Johnson:That's it? That's it?

44:59Shannon Sharpe:because here's the thing Ocho if your numbers start to slip I can't pay you what you think you're worth I can't pay you see Clay was thinking they were going to pay him based on what he had done I'm paying you what I believe you can do so think about it what Clay didn't understand is that when Clay when Clay tore his knee they waited and guess what happened the next year he tore his Achilles they waited Mm-hmm. Yeah, they didn't they didn't they didn't reduce the salary. So for two years, Clay gave them nothing on the court and they paid him. I Can't pay you but yes, we appreciate you helping us win those four titles We could not have done it without you But now I've got to pay you a salary based on what I believe you will do moving forward.

45:47Shannon Sharpe:You know how this thing work

45:49Joe Johnson:Yeah, I know I know. Hey, we are we all been there

45:53Shannon Sharpe:you were with Cincinnati all them Pro Bowls all them all pros that you had made now all of a sudden yeah hey OJ we love you very entertaining but we don't believe we can pay you that 7 million dollars that you deserve that you've earned based on where you are now in your career

46:12Joe Johnson:that's how they do you know it yeah I don't like that I don't like this I was at 12 but go ahead okay well hey that's how they do yeah yeah it's cool but listen i understand y 'all don't appreciate clay the way i do but we appreciate him he's one of the great shooters of all time hey listen i'm hey when he down here when he he's the second greatest shooter of all time actually the second one i think i might take down here in miami personally when he when he's in listen when he's down here in miami and he and he lighten up at the cassia center y 'all remember exactly what y 'all said hey ask

46:43Shannon Sharpe:make sure you uh you you clock this and remember for me i would take dane because they because the problem is is that we see clay's numbers when steph is not on the court steph is the greatest shooter because he's been the central part of the offense clay has never been the central part of an offense he's been great but he was never the main focus the focus has always been steph dame even though when he had cj dame was the focal and for and that's why i give that that's why i normally give guys that were the focal point of the offense like ray allen don't get enough credit people don't realize how great Ray was in Seattle and Milwaukee.

47:21Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all just look at Ray in Boston. Y 'all look at Ray when he went to Miami, but y 'all better go check Ray Allen when he was in Seattle and Milwaukee. Hey, hey, hey, when I came in at 01, I caught him in Milwaukee. Then when I went to Phoenix, I caught him when he was in Seattle. In Seattle here, he averaging about 26, 27 a game, Ocho. And poking on folks. Yeah. Yeah, now Ray's serious now. Y 'all forget old 34, old 34 Milwaukee. Before Giannis had 34, Ray Allen had 34. Yeah. I'm talking about a knife. Yeah. Yeah. So that's why I kind of lean towards guys that were the focal point and the distance in which Dames shoot the ball from.

48:09Shannon Sharpe:That is ridiculous. Yeah. They're two guys that you really have to pick up. Like in their prime, you had to pick them up at half court. You couldn't let them see no day. And then Steph, you started having to pick him up beyond half court. Because he'd take one step. Tim and Dave would literally take one step, two dribbles, pass half court and let it go. At the goddamn logo. I'm like, come on, man. This is ridiculous. Hey, hey, he made it tough to guard him because think about this. If you got a guy come across half court one or two steps and he can let it ride, then the defense got to be extended.

48:46Shannon Sharpe:So now when the pick and roll come, Ocho, I got all this real estate to work. Once I come off this pick and roll, oh, man, you at my mercy.

48:54Joe Johnson:Yeah, absolutely. And you get too close, they'll go right by you too.

48:58Shannon Sharpe:Yes, hello. Now you get backdoor cuts because all of a sudden Draymond with a dribble, not Draymond faking like he going to hand it off, and he turn and go to the rim and lay it up and dunk on you, and then the dribble hand off with Steph. And Steph and Dame, all those guys have done great jobs, can handle the ball, get it off the dribble. They can catch and shoot. They can finish at the rim, even though neither one of those guys are mainly above the rim. I think Steph might got like five dunks in his career. Dave can dunk a little bit. Dave got some ups. But Steph... I mean, what? That boy done cost some body.

49:31Shannon Sharpe:Dave done cost some body, huh? But Steph, I think Steph got by. Steph said he was done. I think Steph dunked last year. Steph said, that's it for me. Yeah, he ain't got a dunk here. He shooting that thing. Shooting the leather off that thing. You hear me? For sure. 76ers President Bob Myers makes his case to LeBron and Rich Paul on why they should join the Sixers. If he was here, I'd say honestly, I believe this is your best chance to win. 54:25Shannon Sharpe:You have to decide all the other things that are equally important. What I would just say is if it's about winning, let's talk about this team. Because you can win here in Philly. Bob Myers is the one that helped put the Golden State Warriors together. Obviously, you know, with Clay and Steph and Draymond and all the pieces that they brought in. moving David Lee and doing certain things like that and going out and getting KD and adding all those pieces. So he's done a great job. He knows what it takes. He knows what a championship-winning basketball team looks like. And he says, with you, we can win.

55:01Shannon Sharpe:And we can win big if I am listening to him and hearing him correctly. Joe, what do you think, Bob Myers? Because he was talking to, if I'm not mistaken, I think he was talking to Rich Paul on him and Max Kellerman's show. Yeah. Hey, listen, I think Bron going to Philly will be great. Uncle Ocho, only thing, man, I'm telling y 'all, everything going to be revolved around Embiid and his health, bro. How many games he going to be able to play? What type of shape his ass going to be coming into camp, you know, looking like? Because if I'm Bron, it's like that's a risk that you're going to have to take.

55:37Shannon Sharpe:And I agree with Bob. Having Bron put you over the top because once you get to the postseason, man, Y 'all see how the game slows down. You got to have guys who can control the game from start to finish, can manipulate the defense and get whatever the hell he want. And I don't think nobody's better than that than LeBron James. I'm sorry. So I agree. Wherever he goes, he going to put whatever team he go to over the top out of them four or five teams, whatever the case may be. But I wouldn't mind seeing him in Philly, too, in the Eastern Conference. Hey, man, he got some good choices to pick from.

56:12Shannon Sharpe:I tell you that. But I'm with Bob. Bob, no. Hell, he built that. He helped build, you know, that great Warriors team. So adding Bron to that equation in Philly, if Embiid is healthy, I'll get Ocho. I'm sorry, bro. They going to be the favorites. Trust me. What you thinking, Ocho?

56:33Joe Johnson:I mean, I done said this on every show. Listen, the fact that the chat continues not to listen to me, The fact that you two continue not to listen to me when it comes to my basketball savviness. I've been right in my percentage. I'm at like 97 % when it comes to my basketball teams. Now you're a basketball servant. Listen, listen, on and off the court, whether it's predicting games, whether it's predicting where players are going to go, the fact that y 'all still question my knowledge at this point with the success that I've had on this show is beyond me. Listen, I respect all the opinions, the points that you guys are making.

57:08Joe Johnson:on LeBron going to these teams and how he improves them exponentially is taken into consideration. But again, the best fit for him is still in Miami, you know, with him being able to do what he likes to do and having the ball on his hands and being able to facilitate, being able to dictate when he wants to put himself into a game and when he wants to turn it off. When he wants to turn it off, having Bam and having Giannis, along with the other complementary pieces that Pat and Mickey Arison are going to provide for him in miami is the best best fit for him um listen chat i'm not sure what's wrong with you guys that are not agreeing with me uh but i mean you might be biased

57:54Joe Johnson:me no you no i'm not biased i'm listening to both of you both of you made no i'm saying they're

58:00Shannon Sharpe:saying you're biased because you live in miami obviously you want what's best you are miami I mean, Native, you want what's best for the Guppies. You want what's best for the Hims. You want what's best for the Marlins. So they're like, if you take your fandom out of it, is that really what is the best for him?

58:18Joe Johnson:Yeah, my fandom's not in it. My fandom's not in it. I'm understanding LeBron is on his last leg. Listen, you want to go out like them and Luis. You want to go out, going off that cliff, riding off into the sunset. And if you want to do it the best way, we're the only place that got the best sun.

58:35Shannon Sharpe:huh all right all right well if you're talking about you know uh uh the sun and sand like that i get all that but i'm not so sure based on and like joe said mb is is the key is the key factor because can he give us 65 70 games i don't know that's a lot of damn that's a lot of games When is the last time he gave you 65-70 games? My thing is, Joe, it's not so much 65-70. I'm talking about with playoffs included because he give you 65 games in regular season and then he only give you five in the postseason. Don't do nothing because you saw what happened last year. Yeah. He missed them. That's what I'm saying.

59:17Shannon Sharpe:Go ahead. You got to see where his mind is, bro. Is he willing to take his body through the vigorous schedule of training and really, really coming into camp in shape. That's the main thing, bro. You can't use camp to get in shape, Ocho. You know what I mean? I'm speaking of championship caliber teams because they come in, they ready to hit the flow and get going, bro. Yeah. We ain't got time to be waiting, catching up. You know, Bron gonna come in looking like a boxer at 42 years old. That man finna come in. Hey, listen, he feel like he gonna have a point to prove. JB gonna have a point to prove.

59:55Shannon Sharpe:That's the only thing, Ocho. You think about it, because you got Maxie and Edgecombe, you don't want them to get lost in the sauce along the way because you don't want to stunt their grunt. You know what I mean? So that's another thing that you got to take into consideration because, you know, them boys need the ball now. Especially Maxie. Because when you give the ball to Maxie, you look at the way Maxie plays when Embiid is not in there and he has the ball. And look at the way he plays when he has the ball and Embiid's in there. So now you add another guy to that mix, you add another guy. Same thing, if I'm not mistaken, I think Maxie, when Harden was there, he couldn't be – the best thing that happened was they turned it over to Maxie.

1:00:40Shannon Sharpe:And you see him – look at his numbers. The moment they got rid of Harden, because it's hard enough. You got Embiid, you got Harden, and then Maxie the third option. So he really couldn't do what he needed to do because, you know, We already know. Embiid is an MVP. He got to get his touches. It is what it is. Harden is an MVP, and Harden is best when he has the ball in his hand. Yeah. And it wasn't until they got off Harden that we saw what Maxie, what many believe Maxie could be. What he currently is, a phenomenal player, but he needs the ball. I want to see him go to Golden State. Hey, that's why it seems like Golden State and Miami are the front runners.

1:01:30Shannon Sharpe:Because Cleveland, you know, Donovan and James Harden going to need the ball just as much as Edge come in. Maxie is going to need it in Philly.

1:01:39Joe Johnson:Too much confusion, man.

1:01:41Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, he'll be able to kind of just play make and kind of float. Oh, Joe, he go to Miami or Golden State. I ain't going to lie to you. Everybody need the ball over there in Philly, huh?

1:01:51Joe Johnson:Jalen Brown need the ball. Maxie needs the ball Plogging up the paint Because he ain't really no stress five He a big who play with his back to the back That's too much confusing man Slowing everything down Come on down here to Miami I mean

1:02:07Shannon Sharpe:It's not like they got the best shooting team in Philly either Joe No but they got some guys Who can catch and shoot I think Maxie is a pretty good catch and shoot Edge come obviously he's going to get better JB can play off the ball But hell they want that ball

1:02:22Joe Johnson:back on it there you go there you go yeah you know i know her little birdies man you know demar you know little homie you know out of la they say he coming to miami i i don't know i don't know you know i got to holler at my homeboy and you know see what see where his mind at what would he like you know um we want to we want to stay out west you want to come on down here east well the problem

1:02:45Shannon Sharpe:is the problem if if miami try to go get the rose and ocho yeah as great as the rosen is he's taking Take your time. Take your time. He's a mid-range assassin. He's really not a guy that I would really – I can really, really see playing off Giannis, Braun, and Bam if you just want me to be 100. Unless he's coming off the bench. And here – I mean, he'll probably get a chance to where he can go start somewhere, Uncle Ocho. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. I mean, at this point in time, what's going to be important to him? Does he really want a chance to compete for a title? Because he hadn't had that in a very, very long time.

1:03:21Shannon Sharpe:He's made his money. And that's the thing, you know, coming off the bench, Joe. And so now, you know, you come off the bench, Joe, you're going to get some backup. Now, the thing is, he's a starter. Yeah, he's a starter. Hey, listen, coming off that bench, it takes some time adjusting because think about this. At 36 years old, Ojo, I throw you in that damn game. Come mid-second quarter, you don't get no damn time to warm up. You got to get right to it. that bike that back in the tunnel joe better go get on that exercise bike water their legs up i'll tell you it's difficult off that bench boy it's a little different i'm saying it's different coming off the bench when you've been starting pretty much your whole career and everybody every team you've been on they've kind of played through you and now you're going just to be a small piece of a puzzle it takes some adjusting so you ain't lying joe because i'm they put my homeboy in the game, Lee.

1:04:20Shannon Sharpe:We used to work out at Georgia Tech. And they're like, Flowers, you up. Man, he been sitting on that bench. That joker running out on the field stretching.

1:04:30Shannon Sharpe:Man, I'm over there.

1:04:34Shannon Sharpe:Man, I'm proud laughing, man. But you're right, Joe. Hey, as you get older, bro, I need to get out of that bed. Hey, you jumping up and down, and you running on there, getting on the bike, and trying to warm the legs up. Shit. Hey, hey, hey, you got them heat packs on your knees. You like, damn, I know he's going to throw me in there in a minute. Let me put these heat packs on you. Hey, man, listen, you got to be ready for it. Hey, hey, Greek, give me a quick stretch. Hey, you going to the strength and conditioning coach? Hey, you laying down? Hey, give me a quick stretch. Yeah, yeah. Man, I'm over there.

1:05:08Shannon Sharpe:Man, I'm over there tighter than skin on the grape. Man, hey, listen, and then when you jump in the game, it's already going forward and north. You know what I'm saying? I'm talking about at a high rate and you got to catch up right away hell It's gonna take you four five trips up and down the court before you even get this thing started Hammy's feeling like guitar strings I said boy y 'all don't let me pull that down here man lord have mercy Man they don't damn well I mean hey You let me start I come out after the first play but I got I need to be on the field Let me do something man I can't be sitting over here three, four minutes done going off the clock before you put me in.

1:05:47Shannon Sharpe:Hell, nah. But do you really believe, Joe, that this is a place that LeBron can win a championship in Philly with the cast of characters that you mentioned, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brown, BJ Etchcombe? Do you believe this is a place that he could actually win a title? I think so, Uncle. You got to have a real meeting with the guys, though, because you're going to need everybody to buy in, bro. We understand everybody have individual goals and team goals, and you want to meet your individual goals. I ain't mad at that. But at the same time, all of our goals got to be aligned to what it is the ultimate prize is to win a title.

1:06:24Shannon Sharpe:You know what I mean? Do I think he have a chance if he go to Philly? Yes. I think he got a chance if he go a couple more places too. What's up, Joe?

1:06:33Joe Johnson:I'm not going to go. Joe, it's too many people in Philly that got to prove themselves. It's not going to work. You got JB who just got traded, right? JB need that ball. JB finna show you, y 'all let me go, right? I need to show y 'all y 'all made a mistake. You got LeBron at 42 years old going to a team. We already have two players that need the ball in their hand to be able to get jigging and do what they already do. Then LeBron also wants to prove himself. I don't care what kind of meeting they have. What kind of meeting LeBron holds with them? Too many people have to prove themselves, and too many people on that team actually need the ball in their hands.

1:07:08Shannon Sharpe:You don't think Giannis wants to prove himself?

1:07:14Shannon Sharpe:you don't think Bam wants to prove himself you don't think if they get Clay he wants to prove himself so where can he go other than Golden State where guys don't have to prove themselves

1:07:24Joe Johnson:they gotta prove themselves over there too

1:07:26Shannon Sharpe:Steph is already proven

1:07:29Joe Johnson:so is Bam Bam ain't proven nothing

1:07:32Shannon Sharpe:Bam ain't won no title Yanni's gotta prove now they gave up what they gave for him he's gotta prove he can win a title that's why he went to Miami he felt his best chances were because there's two teams that he's willing to sign off on, Boston and Miami. Boston offered two years, Miami offering three. So where is he? Harden and Donovan Mitchell got to prove something. Evan Mobley got to prove something. So I'm trying to figure out, again, where can he go other than Golden State? They ain't got to prove nothing.

1:08:06Joe Johnson:Yeah, they do. So what are they playing for if they ain't got to prove nothing?

1:08:09Shannon Sharpe:It's a difference. So let me ask you a question. if Steph don't win another championship, that changed the way you look at it?

1:08:16Joe Johnson:No, absolutely not. Why not?

1:08:19Shannon Sharpe:Why? Because the team he's around, they suck. They ain't finna win another title. So now you go to Philly, you say they got to prove. So what does JB have to prove?

1:08:30Joe Johnson:That he can do the same thing he did when he was in Boston. What does Maxie got to prove?

1:08:39Joe Johnson:That he can still play at a high level. now that he got the ball in Harden. What about Embiid?

1:08:45Shannon Sharpe:He proved he can stay healthy. Okay, now let's go to the other team, Cleveland. Who need to prove something over there?

1:08:52Joe Johnson:Oh, shoot. Donovan Mitchell. And hold on, he definitely get the ball. You saw what he just got paid. What about James Harden? Oh, he definitely got a lot to prove. Not in the regular season, but in the postseason. What about Aaron Mobley? Hey, that's young boy that played the phone, huh?

1:09:06Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

1:09:07Joe Johnson:Yeah, he nice. I like him.

1:09:08Shannon Sharpe:But he got to prove something, though, don't he? because you saw he was late. Now we get to Giannis. Giannis left. He says, I'm leaving Milwaukee because y 'all don't have enough here. So I need to go there. So now he's got to prove outside of Milwaukee. He had no more faith in Milwaukee. He put all his trust in Pat Riley, Mickey Arison, Eric Spolstra.

1:09:33Joe Johnson:Hey, can I tell you something too long, and Joe?

1:09:35Shannon Sharpe:What is that?

1:09:36Joe Johnson:And I hate to just disclose this information you know I don't want to mess up my sources right do you know before players move right regards to the intel and word of mouth and the sources say this you know these players they do converse with each other right before these moves are made you know they have conversations right well you listen this is what's going to happen you know I'm trying to get down here and if I come here please let me know I won't say anything let me know what you think before I make this

1:10:03Shannon Sharpe:move I'm just trying to figure out

1:10:05Joe Johnson:so you don't think yeah you listen Giannis and Bam and LeBron have had conversations understanding the landscape on what makes the most sense for everybody in the totality. While we sit here and have conversation and dialogue on where he might go or what's the best fit and what do you like? No, no, no. Everything is already in place. LeBron already knows where he's going. He already knows where he's going. But this is what I like about being in a position of power where you control everything. You know how Aaron Rodgers does? Yeah. Always have everybody on pins and needles waiting to see what he's going to do.

1:10:37Joe Johnson:We want to know Is he going to be our quarterback Is he not LeBron is in a position To be able to do the same thing

1:10:41Shannon Sharpe:I don't think he know Where he's going No yet

1:10:43Joe Johnson:I'm telling you Joe he know I don't think he knows We talk about A strategist Someone very methodical In all the moves That he's made All his life He knows where he's going

1:10:53Shannon Sharpe:I think I think he got Well obviously He got some options But I think he kind of Weighing him right now Meaning like He wants to know Okay if I do sign him Who the hell is Huh I think there's pros and cons About everything Joe I agree with you Yeah Yeah, like who the hell else y 'all going to get if y 'all get me? You know what I mean? Because the roster still got to be filled out. Oh, yeah.

1:11:14Joe Johnson:Oh, it's going to fill out. It's going to fill out like a BBL. Don't worry about it. You know what the thing is? If you go back and look at LeBron, he kind of like,

1:11:24Shannon Sharpe:with the exception of the Lakers, that was the only unknown that we've ever seen him go to. When he went to Miami, what did he know? He came in with Bosh. He knew D-Wade. He goes back to Cleveland. He had already been to Cleveland. He goes to Golden State. He's very familiar with Steph. They competed against each other, and I think they got really close when they played on the Olympic team. Yep. Philly is an unknown. Even though he and Tyrese Maxey are really good friends, I think he really likes Tyrese Maxey, he's not familiar with Philly, that organization, or those guys like he say he were when he went to Miami or like when he went back to Cleveland because Cleveland, he grew up 30, what, he's 45 minutes away in Akron.

1:12:09Shannon Sharpe:So he's very familiar with Cleveland. He knew Dan Gilbert. So I think for me, and now if he were to go to Miami, obviously he knows Spoke, he knows Mickey, and he knows Pat. He knows Riles. He doesn't, yeah, he played on the Olympic team with Bam this past 24 in Paris. he's not that, I mean he's competing against Giannis but you don't really know Giannis that well, not like he knows Steph because they've been on all star teams together you know more times than not and so it's going to be really really interesting I think Ocho I think he know, look Miami, look we know the teams I don't think nobody else is in the running, I don't think anybody else is called rich I think Philly believe they have a chance I think Miami believe they have a chance, Cleveland believe they have a chance and Golden State believe they have a chance

1:13:03Joe Johnson:let me tell you if braun and steph want to play together they're gonna play together it won't be on the same team they'll probably be the all-star game well it won't be an all-star

1:13:11Shannon Sharpe:game because steph would be in the west and lebron would be in the east hey well listen they might be on the same team but they're gonna play together just on opposite teams that's exactly where it's gonna happen but well you heard steph steph say he's been he's been calling the man they don't let him get on the golf course together joe because you know a lot of deals been made on golf course ojo oh man you know what that might be the separator right there see y 'all see y 'all

1:13:36Joe Johnson:don't understand see steph playing the game with lebron he feeding that information out there to keep everybody in confusion as if he doesn't know where he's going listen i'm trying to lure him over here steph know where the hell he's going draymond know where the hell he's going huh this is this is this is all it's all about the mystique you know keep everybody going keep everybody talking yeah It's a good thing. Yeah, I know. See, I understand the game. Y 'all just ain't peep game.

1:14:01Shannon Sharpe:Right. Oh, OK. OK.

1:14:03Joe Johnson:Yeah, yeah. You know, I would play the game too. OK.

1:14:06Shannon Sharpe:I would get me a Golden State number 23, though. Oh, that's Draymond's number. Didn't Draymond 23? Yeah. Is he 23? I don't know. I know he wore 23 in college. I think Draymond is 23.

1:14:29Shannon Sharpe:I don't think he's going to go to a whole new number. Yeah, I forgot. You can't do six anymore because he's retired around the league. That's Mr. Russell's number, so he's retired. So he got to go. I guess he got to get nine, his Olympic number, the number that he wore in football in high school.

1:14:43Joe Johnson:Seven.

1:14:44Shannon Sharpe:He wore nine.

1:14:47Joe Johnson:No, he wore nine. Okay, okay, okay.

1:14:48Shannon Sharpe:His Olympic number was nine, and his football number was nine.

1:14:52Joe Johnson:okay okay okay hey ches where they know everything man they say hey sweat because they got they got degrees and stuff since y 'all know everything hold on since y 'all know since y 'all know everything what's what's the difference between a sock and a camera huh yeah how about that since y 'all know everything what's the difference hey uncle joe oh no joe what's the difference between a sock and camera a sock yes a sock in a camera a camera yeah i don't know joe well i'm gonna tell you huh one takes five toes the other takes photos
