In short
Nightcap Hour 1 discusses the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinements (Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Luke Kuechly, Charles “Keekly”?) and Adam Vinatieri, then debates who should be first-ballot next (Rob Gronkowski, Adrian Peterson, Antonio Brown, Cam Newton, Richard Sherman, Le’Veon Bell, Andrew Whitworth, Alex Mack, Gerald McCoy, Eric Weddle, etc.). They also cover a Cleveland Browns training-camp practice story: Deshaun Watson taking first-team reps that were supposed to be Shedeur Sanders’ day.
Guests/backgrounds
Chad Ochocinco Johnson (Chad Johnson), former Bengals WR; seven-time? (actually) six-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, Bengals’ all-time leading receiver. ISO Joe Johnson, former NBA player (seven-time All-Star), Atlanta Hawks guard.
Key claims
Hall of Fame voting should prioritize on-field impact; voters may hold grudges via off-field behavior. Antonio Brown’s production merits a “slam dunk,” but his recent behavior may delay him. Deshaun Watson’s $40M contract means he’ll be the starter, even if Shedeur gets fewer first-team reps.
Notable examples
Bill Belichick not being first-ballot; Luke Kuechly not getting in first ballot; T.O. and Hall of Fame bylaw changes; Belichick’s K-gun game-planning; Eli Manning and Kurt Warner waiting multiple ballots.

But it's the same great quality, the same great taste, the same smoothness. Please, please drink responsibly and be safe. Guys, we had a big day for the NFL, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, officially enshrined five members drew breeze roger craig luke keekly laugh is jerald and adam venateri went to the hall today uh i played against drew i played against roger craig and i played against adam venateri i did not play against keekly or laugh is jerald uh i think fits came the year after i had retired so uh congratulations to all these young men in football heaven uh it's hard to tell the nfl story without telling these guys without these guys being involved in the NFL story.
8:23Shannon Sharpe:So congratulations to these five men. Much deserved. Earned. Like I said, I played against Raj when he was at, actually he was at the Raiders at the time, not in San Francisco. And obviously Drew when he was at the Chargers. And Adam Vinatieri, obviously he was in New England. So congratulations to all these men. But the story now, Ocho, 2027. First time eligible players, Rob Gronkowski. Dunk. Adrian Peterson, a dunk. Big Ben Roethlisberger, it's going to be very, very, it's going to be, this is where it gets interesting. This is where it gets interesting. We got Sherm, we got Cam, we got Antonio Brown, we have Le 'Veon Bell, Andrew Whitworth, Alex Mack, Gerald McCoy, and Eric Weddle.
9:13Shannon Sharpe:For me, I think Dronk and AP all day slam dunks. How many get in? you can you can put up to seven but they've been backing it down they've been putting in five the last couple of years a couple of years ago they only put in three so i like obviously everybody
9:33Joe Johnson:that's that that's that's eligible is is worthy of being in the hall of fame but my slam dunk i want to add one more and despite what he may have done off the field and some of the antics on the field as well antonio brown antonio brown had a six seven year stretch maybe eight on where there's There's never been a receiver to ever put up those type of numbers. Joe, that did some of the things he did. Now, most of the time, voters are going to judge also on what occurs off the field as opposed to on. But his numbers speak for themselves. What he was able to do, he's one of the best in the history of this game.
10:05Joe Johnson:In the history of this game. And the story of the receiver position cannot be told without mentioning Antonio Brown. Now, I know it probably will hurt him, you know, with it being his first ballot, based on some of the things that have occurred that probably rubbed some of the voters the wrong way, so they're probably going to make him wait. I mean, your picks with all day Adrian Peterson, that's a no-brainer. Gronk, it's a no-brainer. Andrew Whitworth, what he was able to do in Cincinnati and in L.A. being a centerpiece for the left tackle position, he was great, great as well. Richard Sherman being a part of the Legion of Boom, Legion of Boom being one of the best defenses ever to be assembled.
10:44Joe Johnson:You can't tell that defensive story, especially without Sherm and how well he played during his time. So many of those players are worthy for the slam dunks of those three that I did mention.
10:56Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, Ocho, it's just hard for me to see. I don't see it. If they don't let T.O. in on the first ballot, T.O.? And I know A.B., and A.B. was phenomenal. And you and I have talked about this since the inception of Nightcap. I said, Ocho, A.B. He didn't realize how special he was. And like you said, he had a six or seven year stretch that was as good as any receiver that has ever played a game. But his behavior both on and off the field is going to hurt him. And he's going to have to wait some time. I'm talking about a very long time because his antics are fresh in people's minds. And maybe for a lot of people, the last straw, Ocho, is that what he did at the Jets when he...
11:38Shannon Sharpe:That was it. I'm going to see. They said, now, they said, all I know is they say behavior now matters. It never mattered before. And T.O. never had any issues off the field. We're going to see how they judge Ben Roethlisberger. Now, Eli Manning comes back up on the ballot.
12:05Joe Johnson:You know they're not going to let a Manning wait that long now. You know that.
12:10Shannon Sharpe:This will be his third try, maybe three times the charm. Hey, so y 'all telling me out of all these guys right here, they only going to take about five of them? I don't know if they take that many. Now, Joe, there might be some guys that didn't get in this year that's going to be on the ballot next year. Right. And there's some old timers that's going to be coming up. So some senior guys. So it might be, you know, Paul Tagliabue is going to come back up. I think Mike Shanahan is starting to get some support, and I think he should because there are guys that have less Super Bowl wins than Mike Shanahan.
12:44Shannon Sharpe:What he did in Denver. How do you tell the story of the Broncos and the back-to-back champion without telling Mike Shanahan's story, being a part of it? I think he's more than deserving, and that's not to cast a look down on anybody else because I believe I can shine a light on Mike Shanahan without dimming the light on someone else. That's just the way I feel. But, yes, I am biased. I make no bones about that. we do not become back-to-back Super Bowl champs without Mike Shanahan. That being said, yeah, Joe, Cam is on the ballot. Sherm, they came out in the 2011 draft. That was a loaded draft.
13:21Shannon Sharpe:It's tough. They said, from what I've told, is that the first ballots, those are for the Jared Rices, the Joe Montanans, the Tom Brady, the Peyton Manning, those guys the John Elways the Reggie Whites the Lawrence Taylors now how many of those guys you see comparable to that for me I think Gronk is one of the two best titles in football yeah ever I think he and Kelsey I got Kelsey a slight nod for what Kelsey's been able to do in the postseason you've never seen with the exception uh uh uh in the Super Bowl in which they lost to the, but he's been big. Every Super Bowl he shows up, every playoff game he shows up, he's rivaling Jerry Rice as far as catches, yards, touchdowns.
14:10Shannon Sharpe:He might have surpassed him in a few of those. So he and Kelsey and Gronk, those are my guys for me. And that's not a knock on anybody else because I know there are some hell of a tight end from Winslow to Mackie to Dicker, Gates, myself, Ozzie. There are a lot of guys that belong in there. But for what these guys were able to do in the regular season and the postseason? And the touchdown that Gronk's go, I mean, I mean, what do you say, Chad? What do you say? And Kelsey's still going strong. 13 ,000, what do you got? 13 ,000 yards. A thousand catches. Hey, hey, hey, y 'all don't think Cam Newton is showing first ballot?
14:56Shannon Sharpe:I mean, considering the fact. Hold up. Hold up. Hold up, Mom. Not only did he get to the Super Bowl, but we talking about he's probably the leading rush in the NFL when it comes to quarterbacks and touchdowns. Am I right or wrong? I think what you call him is past him. Who? I think Lamar Jackson. I don't know. We'll have to look that up. We can look it up. I feel like Cam Newton kind of started that dual threat, strong, physical quarterback who can run and pass. I don't see how he ain't first ballot. Hey. I'm just basing it on what they've been doing since I've been following it. Yeah. Eli won back-to-backs.
15:35Shannon Sharpe:Eli won two Super Bowls, and he beat Tom Brady to do it. And he didn't get in on first ballot. Hell yeah, he's coming up on his third ballot. Kurt Warner is a two-time league MVP, a Super Bowl MVP, went to three Super Bowls. He didn't get in on the first ballot. Yeah, it's tough. They are very, very particular who they let in. I mean, you think about Luke Kuechly played eight years. He's a five-time first-team All-Pro in eight years. And he was defensive player of the year and defensive rookie of the year. And they didn't let him in on the first ballot.
16:09Joe Johnson:Even though his career was short, his impact during that time was phenomenal. It was phenomenal, Joe. He was different, Joe. In that eight-year span, I'm talking about you turn the tape on, but you see 59 every time every time unbelievable career
16:27Shannon Sharpe:even though it was only 8 years he got my vote for defensive rookie of the year and player of the year he got my vote absolutely um Sharm Alex Mack I'm trying to say didn't he play at the Jets Alex Mack no he played at Cleveland They used to send him for Cleveland.
16:52Shannon Sharpe:McCoy. Hell, they didn't let Johnny Randall in on the first ballot. Mm-hmm. And I held it. Yeah, it's. Like I said, I used to think I'd do it on the first ballot Hall of Fame.
17:05Joe Johnson:It all depends on the player. It all depends on the player. It all depends on, obviously, those that are doing the voting, that are letting the players in. you have to align with them and their core values and what they think a player should be like in getting it on that first ballot. So it's different sometimes. What I don't like about those in a position of power to vote those in is they hold grudges based on things that have nothing to do with the game of football. It had nothing to do. What did you do in between them lines on Sundays at one o 'clock and at 7.30 and sometimes at four? That's all.
17:42Joe Johnson:For me, if I was voting, what you did on that field, how impactful were you? Not just one or two years. I'm talking about consistently every single year, especially when you're off as a player and they're scheming to stop you and they know you're coming and you still get it done consistently over the years. That's what I'm looking at.
18:05Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Ocho, they still got Torrey Holtz on the ballot. They still got Reggie Wayne on the ballot.
18:11Joe Johnson:Too many greats. And we're not talking about just regular players. These are too many greats. You mentioned in Legends.
18:19Shannon Sharpe:You said something very interesting. You said the guys, men and women, there are 50 men and women voters now. Because when I went in, there were only 44. Now they're 50. With that being said, they changed the bylaws with T.O. To keep T.O. from getting in on the first ballot, they changed the bylaws. They said what you did on the field could negatively impact when it came time to voting. They changed those bylaws. Prior to that, nothing, they said nothing other than football impacted whether or not you got in. Based on that alone, you already know AB not getting in anytime soon. Also, with that being said, Ocho, you say people hold grudges.
19:03Shannon Sharpe:You got to realize, I understand these are 50 million women that are human, that have emotions, that have feelings. So I don't know if just like you, somebody wrong you and then come down the line, they want you to do them a solid. Tell me how you going to handle it, Joe.
19:20Joe Johnson:I'm with you when you're right. I'm with you when you're right.
19:23Shannon Sharpe:Come on. People are like, oh, you got to set that aside. You wouldn't set it aside. People always, you know what I know is, people always ask you to do something they would never do.
19:33Joe Johnson:But also, you have to think about it. The people that are voting, the people that are in these positions of power, they understand the control that they do have they enjoy that satisfaction to be in the control whether you want to get in or not right but also whatever these players did that they might not like it didn't affect them in any way it doesn't actually affect you in general it doesn't so to be able to hold a garage against someone you're a reporter
19:58Shannon Sharpe:let me ask you you're a reporter so you come to me after the game hey Mr. Schultz what you think man get out of my face now I'm gonna give you my butt to kiss for about a decade okay okay now it's gonna come time for me to be a hall of forget the hall of fame voting I'm gonna need your vote Ocho tell me how you

20:16Joe Johnson:thinking Ocho I see you going with it so now now that that situation that situation in general that comes down to Bill Belichick not going in first ballot hey there you go Joe prime example
20:27Shannon Sharpe:six Super Bowls nine Super Bowl appearances two Super Bowl wins as a defensive coordinator he was so great that they took the game plan in which he used in 1990 to stop the K-gun. It's in the Hall of Fame as you and I talk today. He didn't get in on the first ballot. Because why? That behavior. And I think Coach Belichick, I think the world, I think Coach Belichick is the greatest NFL coach in NFL history. Oh, man, listen. But there are a lot of people that do not like Coach Belichick. Hey, Joe, they don't like me either, Joe.
21:01Joe Johnson:Why do you think I put my own jacket on? I ain't got time to play with y 'all. I already knew it.
21:09Shannon Sharpe:Hey, look, that's cheating hell if Belichick didn't go in for the ballot. So who was the first? So what coach? I mean, y 'all going to make Andy Reid wait? No. So Andy Reid's going to have Big Red?
21:23Joe Johnson:Absolutely not.
21:24Shannon Sharpe:I remember Big Red was a tight end coach. You was coaching my brother now. He was up there with Holmgren and Shermwood. He was in Green Bay? And John Gruden. Yeah, he was in Green Bay, yeah. Ray was in Green Bay, yeah, absolutely. Mm-hmm. All them, when Holmgren got the job in 92, he took all those who was on the staff at San Francisco. He took all those with him. Steve Mariucci, Dick Jerron, all of them was on the staff. Ray Rhodes. Yeah. Gruden, all of them was on that staff. Andy Reid. Sherm was the offensive coordinator, though. And that's the thing, though, see, and the thing is that, but that's the only way to do it.
22:08Shannon Sharpe:I mean, how else can you get a Hall of Fame unless you have somebody vote on it? I mean, we hate subjectivity. I mean, that's why, you know, if I dive before I do gymnastics, Ocho, it's subjective. I might hit the most difficult thing and somebody's like, ah, that's all I am. Right. You know what I'm saying? I want to win. I'm the first one to the tape. I touched the wall first. I broke the finish line first. I lift the most weights. I threw the thing to fathers. Yeah.
22:36Joe Johnson:Yeah, but it's ridiculous, though. The whole Bill Belichick thing. Now, I know, obviously, he didn't sit right the way he did. He did reporters, obviously, not being really given too much information. His answers were short. And the thing about him is he was consistent. It was him. It was always him. A lot of people didn't like the way he did things, but he did it his way. In his way, it did one thing. He won. He won doing it exactly like that. And to have a coach like that, that basically sets the standard on what every coach would want to be like. You want to consistently win like that time and time again.
23:10Joe Johnson:He had a 20-year run, which was unbelievable in New England.
23:16Shannon Sharpe:Unprecedented. Yeah.
23:18Joe Johnson:So to leave him out, man, I mean, he is the standard.
23:21Shannon Sharpe:You'll never see another run like that. Oh, no. Hey, hey. And I did not know that they made that man leave. Yeah, Joe. Yeah, Joe.
23:27Joe Johnson:Yeah. Oh, yeah. He was up last year. Then he didn't go in.
23:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. So now, guess what, Joe? He's on the 2027 ballot, along with Reggie Wayne, along with Tori Hope. Okay, I see what you're saying, yeah. With Eli Manning, with Ben Roethlisberger. So the names that we just mentioned on the first ballot, you got six more people that came in that might be on the second, third, fourth, or fifth or sixth ballot. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So, and they only take... I see what you're saying now. And they said, look, we were putting too many people in. We were diluting the product. So they made a conscious decision. Like I said, I think, what was it?
24:10Shannon Sharpe:A couple of years ago, it was only three. I think, yeah, three, maybe four. With Gates, when Gates went in, Allen, I don't know who the other guy was, But it wasn't that many guys that went in that year.

27:29Shannon Sharpe:But it's tough. and everybody, if you get to this point when you make the final when you make the final, because they start off with like 120 people, Joe. And then they whittle it down to 75. They whittle it down to 50. They whittle it down.
27:46Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe. Hey, Joe. Hey, Joe. Hey, I inducted myself, Joe. I made me a gold bus. Huh? Hey, chat. This is me. Turn it to the side. Let me see. You see it look just like me, don't it?
28:05Shannon Sharpe:Man, that joke look like I am robot.
28:09Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe. Hey, chat. I want y 'all to understand, right? I love the Hall of Fame. I love the voters that are in the position of power. They control the narrative on who they want in and who they don't. So, hey, Joe. I inducted myself. I made me a 14. This is 14-carat gold bus. It's real. Hey, Joe. It weighed about 30 pounds, Joe. Little bus now, huh? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I have people in the world right now is I'm trying to track down that jacket I put on when we played the Ravens. I think it was Thursday Night Football. That jacket I put on. It's old. I'm trying to find it so I can frame it in the background.
28:46Joe Johnson:And, you know, I had my own Hall of Fame ceremony and all, Joe, in the locker room after the game.
28:52Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you deserve it, bro. I appreciate you, Joe. You deserve it. I appreciate you, Joe. You know what I mean?
28:56Joe Johnson:Hey, sometimes, Joe, when they don't celebrate you, you got to give yourself your own flowers. You hear me?
29:00Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I agree. I agree with you, Ocho. So it's going to be very, very, very, very, very interesting to see this thing. Boy, this thing, ooh, because like I said, the guys that haven't gotten in in the past couple of years, because the problem that I have, and this is what I said when I didn't get in, guys, I said if you don't love my numbers this year, you're going to hate them next year. Because I'm not going to add to it. Because think about it. If you don't like Torrey Holtz and you don't like Steve Smith Sr., you don't like Reggie Wayne's numbers. In two to three years when these guys come out, these guys are going to have 1 ,200, 1 ,300, 1 ,400 catches.
29:45Shannon Sharpe:So now you're like, man, he only had 1 ,000 catches? Yeah, 1 ,000 catches back then was a lot of damn catches. That's why we marvel at the guys that had those kind of catches like Jerry started in the 80s and we started seeing guys get 1 ,000 because they were running the football back then. It's just... And when you get to this point, everybody feels that they're more than deserving, that they've earned it right. Because there are a lot of guys that's been to 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 Pro Bowls. They've been a 2, 3, 4-time first-team All-Pro. They've been an all-decade player. So what's the... I mean, they say, well, you know, I got to wait.
30:28Shannon Sharpe:I got to wait. Man, hell, I want my family to see me. I want to, you know, I don't want to go up there. I'm in a wheelchair. I can't walk and can't enjoy it. Hell, let me enjoy it.
30:38Joe Johnson:Hey, I love it. It's awesome. It's awesome. I mean, being able to watch Larry Fitz and Luke up there, man, and seeing them boys talking and Larry, you know, giving his flowers to Randy and how he inspired and motivated him, it was a dope thing to see. It was a dope thing. And it's a good thing. Hey, honestly, Joe, it's a good thing they don't put me in, boy. You hear me? Why is that? What? Joe, what? Well, you'll never see an entrance or a speech like that ever again. You going to show up?
31:13Shannon Sharpe:Well, I sure hope your team do like most teams do. What's that? Most teams, they put the bill for their players. I don't know what Cincinnati going to do. Mr. B covered everything. Mr. B covered everything for me. and you hear Mr. Wilson, he covered things for his players when they got in there. The 49ers guys, Eddie DiBartolo, probably Jerry. I'm assuming. I know Mr. Wilson, what he did for Brucie and Thurum and those guys. I know what Mr. Bowling did for me, so I can't speak for anybody else. I don't want to be presumptuous, but I know I was taken care of. The reason why they have it in the stadium now was because of Jim Kelly.
31:54Shannon Sharpe:it used to be on the steps of the Hall of Fame. Jim Kelly brought a thousand guests. A what? Damn. Jim Kelly brought damn near everybody in Pennsylvania. I don't even know a thousand people, boy. So that's why now, Joe, that's why now, guys, it's in the stadium becoming Jim. Damn. But the thing is, when I went to the Ring of Fame, He brought my family. He brought my family. He brought my coaches. He brought my homeboys. He brought everybody. Had a suite to ourselves. The night before, Mike, hey, 84, I want to do something for you. I'm like, well, you know, I might say, hey, once you get to fair, I said, Mike, I said, Mike, that's a bunch of us.
32:43Shannon Sharpe:Don't worry about 84. We got lobster steak, expensive-ass wine. Man, nobody drank no wine. Man, we drank Morgan David where I grew up at. Joe, they talking about some Petrusa, all that Bordeaux and all that other stuff. Camas. Nah. Man, go on and get some Morgan David. And we call it a night. I like it.
33:06Joe Johnson:Hey, listen. Listen, they going to take care of old Joe. No, no, no, no, Joe. Don't do that, Joe. Don't do that. I like it the way it is. No, you don't understand, Joe. And no disrespect to them boys, you know, getting in. but you have to understand joe is i understand the meaning of it right but it's not something that i actually need because i understood when i was playing i'm going to conduct myself in a manner where a lot of people aren't going to like the way i do things they're not and i was i was okay with that so the fact remains that i was able to be authentic to myself and if that didn't sit well with those that are in those positions of power that do the voting i'm good that's why i Who caught them yards?
33:47Shannon Sharpe:Who caught them yards? Who put the ball in the end zone? That's what I'm saying, man. Damn all that other stuff, the proposal to the cheerleader and all that other stuff. Damn all that. You did that. They look at all that, though. I understand. No, they don't. They shouldn't. Yeah, I'm good. You were not disruptive on the field because the thing is that others, when they be yelling and kicking and slinging snot, they call that passion. They call us a malcontent. They call us being disruptive. I call y 'all to kiss my you-know-what. I mean, that wasn't my personality. I did everything behind closed doors because I knew everybody was looking.
34:27Shannon Sharpe:But no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't try to now say what because one guy does it. He's passionate. This is how much he cares the game. He's showing you how he cares. And then somebody else, they're being disruptive. They're being malcontent. nah that's something that they put onto the receiver because the lion's share of the receiver they kind of look like us guys
34:47Joe Johnson:I like it though Joe just doing it my way Joe being the villain I enjoy being the villain I embrace that and I think if I tried to be anything else other than myself and the way I played the game as a kid I think I wouldn't have been good nah I wouldn't have been good no I agree
35:07Shannon Sharpe:so you enjoy being that
35:09Joe Johnson:Yeah, I had to, Joe. I had to talk trash every week. I had to. Because I had to add pressure to myself. For one, I'm in a situation we were losing. We were playing. We were bad during my time, during my tenure. When I played 11 years and had one good season, I mean, totally as a team. I would just play out one time. Joe, I had no choice. I could fill up a stadium, Joe, and we were winning four-game seasons. But I could fill up a stadium based on ain't no telling what he going to do. I got to go watch yeah you got to I had to do what I did and I mean the cards I was dealt I did the best I could with the hand I was dealt Joe you know I wasn't able to play you know with I mean Carson was phenomenal it's just it's different where I went the situation I'm not with the 49ers I'm not with the Packers you know I'm not with a franchise that is known for winning so Joe I had to get that shit out of the mud Joe I already know it.
36:09Joe Johnson:You had to get dirty. Yeah. I enjoyed it, though, boy. Hey, if I had to do it again, boy, I'd do it the same way and add a little bit more season on it. Yeah. I left so many celebrations out there.
36:23Shannon Sharpe:It was a blessing, though, Ocho. Because just think about it. Had you gone to a coach like Parcells, he ain't having that. You go to a coach like Belichick. So it's a fine line. between being who you are, winning, and like you were great. You were a great player. There are some people that are great in the role that they play. That ain't you.
36:54Shannon Sharpe:So they got to let you, in order for you to function, and I believe this, that's why you weren't able to be yourself in New England.
37:01Joe Johnson:I told you the first words Bill told me when I got there. What are you doing? Hey, Ocho, I'm glad to have you. It was awesome going against you over the years, but you know you have to change who you are to be here. And boy, from that day on, Joe, I was walking on eggshells. Amongst the other...
37:20Shannon Sharpe:But coach, why you brought me here? Hey, hey, in other words, Bill was telling you, hey, look, look, look, don't come here with all them damn shenanigans, okay?
37:28Joe Johnson:No, sir, no, sir. Yeah, we need you to lock in, yo fella. The funny thing about it is he didn't even have to tell me that, because when you walk in, you already knew what time it was. I took a back seat. I was quiet. I ain't do no media. What I got to talk about? Hey, that man here done scared you straight, didn't he, man? He didn't have to say that because I often walk a straight line anyway. You hear the stories. Even though you're not playing for the Patriots, you hear the stories. Boy, Randy Moss coming off a 23 touchdown season, complaining about his contract that was going in 48 hours. You think I'm going to come in and act for you?
38:05Shannon Sharpe:Are you? Man, please. See, you go to the Ravens, don't change nothing. Just go be a Raven. Just go play hard. Do whatever you want to do. Long as you ain't harming nobody, you going to play football, all those antics, that don't mean nothing. That don't mean nothing. Not if he has to produce a run. I just say, hey, be you. Boy, if you talk, talk. Don't come in and be quiet. Hey, that's why it make a huge difference to where you get drafted at. You know, in any sport, bro, it makes a huge difference because Absolutely. It's coaches out here who can hinder, you know, your talent and have you pulling back versus trying to go forward.
38:47Shannon Sharpe:You know what I mean? So I think fit is key. And who you get drafted to, you know what I mean? Meaning the type of system you playing in, bro, that means everything. I tell you, Ochoa, I've been saying this. it ain't how high you go, it's where you go. That is the most important thing. And I know everybody wants to be, I want to be the number one pick and I want to go here and I want to go there. And you be the number one pick or the number one pick overall or a first-round draft pick and go into the wrong situation and then people look at you like you're crazy. It'll kill your career. It absolutely will.
39:23Shannon Sharpe:So where you go is very important.
39:25Joe Johnson:And obviously, if you go that high and you go to a bad team, do you know how good you have to be? Do you know how good you have to be to overshadow how bad the team is? And that's very likely. Very, very likely.
39:41Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Especially when you play a dependent position. That's why, you know, you look at a guy like a D-Hop.
39:52Shannon Sharpe:Like, bro, do you realize before he got Deshaun, who he had thrown to him? I think he had Matt Sharp for a little while. Matt Sharp was lighting it up there. Shabby throwing a thing now. But he had some quarterbacks in there like, oh, Lord. And he still made it work. Yes. Yes, absolutely.
40:12Joe Johnson:Hey, I got a question, too, about this, too. When it comes to the voters, the people, obviously, we don't know who they are. Do you think it would be better if the 50 people that were doing the voting were those that actually played the game? Or should that not matter?
40:29Shannon Sharpe:no because there are a couple of them now i mean there are a couple of guys that's in the hall of fame that's on the committee but it's gonna be just like they did it could be just like they did when they used to vote for the pro but you remember how they used to how they used to vote for the pro bowl ocho yeah did they take it serious see people forget see everybody keeps saying that but you and i both know we voted and we know hey man go ahead right hey whatever you You say whatever you say, Sean. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever you say, Ocho. Whatever you think, Ocho, you know. Yo, I'm just telling you how it is.
41:01Shannon Sharpe:I already know. I'm going to spill some tea. Ocho not going to spill some tea. That's how they did it. We're supposed to go in there and vote as a collective group. Obviously, you can't vote for anybody on your team. Offense, vote for defense. Defense, vote for offense. Hey, them boys, hey. Man, Sean, I got to go, man. Go, hey, whatever you say, man. You know better than anybody, man. You be watching it. You study and watching it. All the receivers.
41:26Joe Johnson:But that ain't the point. All the receivers be. Hey, but who you got? Who you putting down? Thank you. Okay, okay. Who? Okay, bet. I got him. I'm putting him to him. I'm putting him to him. Yeah. Hey, Joe, them boy being a man bulljive.
41:39Shannon Sharpe:Who you done hung out with in Miami? Are you hung out with in Vegas? So that's why the linemen, for the most part, you see the same offensive linemen go every year. Yeah, yeah. That's why most linemen, they get five, they get 11, 9, 10, 12 Pro Bowl selection. You know what's funny, too? because first of all, they can't get stats.
41:57Joe Johnson:Go ahead. I will say, especially when it comes to linemen, Joe, the linemen that do go over and over, them actually be them boys, though. Yeah, it be them dogs. It be them dogs that show up every week on film. You know, as a lineman, if you go to Pro Bowls continuously year in and year out, you really good. You really good. There's no other way to measure you outside of what you do on goddamn film. There's no other way. Especially an officer lineman.
42:25Shannon Sharpe:but I done seen some situations guys get their ass in on reputation too don't let them fool you Joe some guys get their ass in on reputation cause they were good and I'm not saying because you know sometimes you miss a year that you should have got in and there are some times you get in on a year you should have kept your ass at home yeah yeah and I'm like how the hell bro I'm like man, because you, hey, and guys, and he started getting like, what, week 12, week 13, Ocho, guys start politicking. Hey, boy, let your boy get that vote.
43:03Shannon Sharpe:See, you see how Ocho, Ocho, no, that's exactly what they be saying. Hey, that's a good one. Hey, Sean, let your boy get that vote now. That's a good one. I said, man, because back then, guys used to like, everybody had, for the most part, guys have football caps. So you build, you know, You build up a bond. You go out, you do the football camp, you go out to eat, you drink, you have a good time together. But nah, Ojo, nah. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I think in basketball, we used to vote too. The players used to vote too for the MVP and all that. They did. Y 'all did until 1980. Until when? 1980 was the last year that the players voted for the MVP.
43:44Shannon Sharpe:Up until then, so all those years. That's why Oscar, think about it. The year Oscar had the triple-double. that was the same year that Wilt had 50-25. Damn, hold on. Russell won the MVP. That was the greatest statistical season ever, 61-62. Go back and look at that season and look at those guys. Look at what Walt Bellamy did. Look at what Elgin Baylor did. Look at what Jerry West did.
44:11Shannon Sharpe:What's up, boy? Russell, look. Russell was 50-25 and didn't win the MVP. Oscar had a triple-double. I think Elgin Baylor was like 31-18. Walt Bellamy was 30-15. Jared West was like 35-6. Go look at those numbers. Play and vote it. Hey, you went way back yonder. Hell, I thought the players, I thought I was voting at one point. I thought we were voting. Not for the MVP. You might have voted for the All-Star, but not MVP. I think that may have been one. 80 was the last year. Damn. Yeah, man, they're going to kick us players out of there as far as voting. Because of favoritism, for real. Yeah, for sure.
45:04Shannon Sharpe:That's why, you know, these analytic guys are really locked in, bro, because they're going to give them an opportunity. You know what I mean? It's a little different now, fellas. Yeah. But, Joe, they say that was the greatest. If you go back and look at Chad, do us a favor. Go back and look at that 61-62 season and look at the MVP candidates that year. And if I'm not mistaken, hold on. Elgin, hold on. Because somebody served time in the military. It might have been Baylor. One of those MVP guys missed part of the season because of his military service. I'm telling you, I don't know where this boy be getting his information from, but he be tapped in over there.
45:49Shannon Sharpe:on the Ocho.
45:49Joe Johnson:Everything, boy. He didn't want to.
45:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, man. Chad, look, I'm almost certain. I'm almost certain. One of those guys, I want to say Baylor. Don't quote me on that, but I think it was Baylor. But Baylor had a hell of a year. But that year, go back and look at those MVP candidates' numbers, and you're like, what the hell? Now, rebounding, guys were shooting for, excuse me, effing 30%. So there's going to be a lot of rebounds to grab on Joe and Ocho. Damn. It ain't like it. You look at the numbers, Joe. Hold on. What were the numbers? From when? 61-62, that season. When Wilt was 50-25, I think, or what you call it, was like 18-20. Two, 18-23.
46:38Shannon Sharpe:That man said 50-25. I can't even imagine. I can't even imagine somebody averaging them numbers, bro. But then he said, y 'all thought I was a fluke, and he came back the next year and put up 44 and 27. Ain't nobody going to ever break Wilson up. Go back and look what he did his rookie year. Ain't nobody going to beat that. Ain't nobody, the rebounding numbers, y 'all might just say start all over from scratch. Ain't nobody getting 23 ,000 rebounds, ever. That's crazy. 25 boys a game is wild. 50.4, man, come on, man. Played 48.2 minutes a game. and played every minute of the game. Hey, hold on.
47:17Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hold on. Hey, Joe.
47:19Joe Johnson:Man, he played in Converse too, didn't he?
47:22Shannon Sharpe:That's what I'm trying to say. Boy, probably out there in some hard bottoms. That was the only thing you could play here. A pro kid. Hey, hey, hey, hey, think about it. And he out there in some hard bottoms. You know what I mean? Playing all, how many, were they playing 82 back then, huh? Mm-hmm. Man, they played 82 games back then too? They played 80 right back then, yeah. Hey, hey, no orthotics, none of that. Just straight. Straight socks and shoes. No coat. Ain't no nothing about no cold tub. Ain't no red light therapy. Hey, them boys built different. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Them boys built different back then, boy.
47:57Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. They built like them hard cars back then. You know, now these cars made. Plastic. You touch them, they balled up. Everything back then was steel. Boy, listen. Yes. Hey, you remember how your uncle's name was built? how hard your grandfather and grandpa and dad and dad and how hard they was and cowards, yeah. Men ain't like that no more. They don't make them like that no more. This man was hard. When you're teeing off and your clients are watching, it's on. Amazon Pharmacy presents Painful Thoughts It's been a long bumpy road dealing with yet another bladder infection and driving to the pharmacy to pick up meds I went over a pothole and a little pee came out so now I get to stand in line with pee pee pants

51:30Yes, sir.
51:31Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, change of plan in Cleveland. What, what? Deshaun Watson and Shadour Sanders had been rotating first-team reps on the day when Shadour was scheduled to practice with the starting offense. Deshaun took every rep with the number one unit. Yes, sir. Shadour split the remaining reps with Dilly Gabriel. In fact, Todd Munkin just said minutes before practice, Deshaun might end up with seven-on-seven, but Shadour would take the majority of the reps with the ones. That did not happen. Munkin did not speak to the media. after practice, but according to Mary Kay Cabot, Brown's team spokesman said there were personal groupings Coach Munkin wanted to see Deshaun with today.
52:07Shannon Sharpe:He took all the first-team reps on what was supposed to be Shadour Sanders' day.
52:13Joe Johnson:I mean, obviously, it's what I already said was going to happen too. Obviously, you want to evaluate your talent. You want to evaluate your quarterbacks with your ones and those who are going to actually be in the game. As we get closer to the first preseason game, the ones need to work with the ones as much as possible. why he's probably ramping up the reps for Deshaun Watson with the number one crew, who on starting day in September, whatever the first game is, is probably going to be Deshaun Watson. Again, Chad, as much as I love, as much as I love Shadour, I would love for him to start. I would love for him to play right now.
52:46Joe Johnson:But when it comes to business, those that make the decisions, and because how much Deshaun Watson is making this year, he will be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. That's it. There's no ifs, ands, buts about it. Who you might like, who you don't like. I'm just from a business standpoint, you're not having a$40 million quarterback sitting on the bench because the rest of the world wants to see Shadour play. That's not the way it works. Now, if things don't go well, I say maybe week four or five, if things aren't going well and they're losing, Shadour will make his entrance and he will probably hold on to that starting quarterback position for the remainder of the year and Deshaun will go on elsewhere next year.
53:23Shannon Sharpe:Well, it's going to be too late then. By that time, you already know, Ochoa, how the NFL live. It's hard. You lose that. You start out losing and make the playoffs. They're not built like that. They don't have that type of roster. They don't have that type of weaponry. And I'm just trying to figure out why you want to see him on personnel groupings when it's my day. When it's come to his day, okay, now you can see him. So what about tomorrow? So we can't do these groupings tomorrow? Yeah. So what was so special about my day that I'm supposed to get the reps we supposed to alternate so you didn't want to see him with the group tomorrow huh hey I'm with you on this for Ocho I think you give Deshaun Watson a fair shake you know you give him an opportunity to really come out and show and prove if he can get back to the elite quarterback play that he once was I don't know but I think it's going to be a short at least, though, Uncle Ochoa.
54:27Shannon Sharpe:I don't think it's going to be, like, y 'all saying five, six weeks. I don't think it's going to take that long. Hey, listen.
54:32Joe Johnson:Again, Deshaun Watson's success is going to be contingent on those that are surrounding him. Judy, Concepcion, Bond, them boys. He got some weapons, though. He got some weapons, Ochoa. He absolutely does. Them boys have to be on point. They got to be on point. I'm talking about every rep, no mistakes, no errors, getting open, being efficient, you know, yak, run at the catch. I mean, They got to be on point.
54:58Shannon Sharpe:Did they beep up that offensive line? I don't know about that. Huh? Did they do something in the offensive line, man?
55:11Shannon Sharpe:That's going to make the biggest difference right there. Hey, all them weapons sound and look good out there, okay?
55:18Joe Johnson:But hell, if I ain't got no blocking back here,
55:21Shannon Sharpe:I can't see Nate there.
55:23Joe Johnson:I can't wait to see. What's 4-4 last name? Fanning? Is it Fanning? Fanning. Ooh, he cut a rug last year. I like young boy that boy. I like him, boy. Yeah.
55:35Shannon Sharpe:I think the thing is, Joe, you say maybe he can get back. If he get back to that elite status, it'll be the greatest turnaround in NFL history. No player has ever fought have such a precipitous drop and recapture it. It's hard. Now, we've seen players drop off a year and come back. You know what I'm saying? And, okay, in 2019, played bad, came back in 2020, hit it up, and went back like he was. But to have this many years off and to pick back up where he wants, we've never seen that in the history of the game, never. It's going to be tough to do that, man. Yes. Especially there. But my thing is, the only reason why I say it's going to be tough, Uncle Ocho because he hadn't played elite in quite some time?
56:27Shannon Sharpe:Because I think he got the weapons, man. Hell, at the end of the day, is, they're okay now, Joe. Let's not get carried away. He ain't got Cincinnati weapons. He ain't got what the Rams got.
56:37Joe Johnson:He got some weapons. Every team can't be loaded like Cincinnati or the Rams or like the Seahawks, but what he does have, they can't be like Detroit, but what he does have, he got something to work with, though.
56:50Shannon Sharpe:When you load it like that, what do you do? And when you're not loaded like that, what do you do? Miss the playoffs? Metal around? It's not an accident. Talent wins as much as we want to say oh, this and that. This is the NFL.
57:07Joe Johnson:This is the best of the best. You got to work with what you got. So what they do have, even if there's different levels of said talent spread throughout the teams, right? Whoever the officer, the coordinator there is for the Cleveland Browns, you've got to, it's all about knowing your personnel. Not only knowing your personnel, but knowing your players' strengths. Playing to their strengths. Putting them in positions to make the plays. Understanding your quarterback's strengths and weaknesses. That's all, I mean, listen, I make it sound easy, but it's not easy. But putting them in positions to make plays, knowing their strengths and their weaknesses is going to be extremely important.
57:46Joe Johnson:I know you've got an offense to run. I know you have a scheme. I know you have a a way that you like to do things. But if you don't have the personnel to do what you like to do, you got to finagle a little bit.
57:57Shannon Sharpe:You can't finesse that much. Ocho, you're 30 cents away from a dime. The hell you mean finagle? Let me ask you a question. Do they got more talent than the Texans? Offensively? Team, however you want to put it, offensively, defensively. What about Jacksonville? Ooh, Jacksonville, loaded. What about the Colts? What about the Broncos? What about Kansas City? What about the Chargers? What about Cincinnati? What about the Ravens?
58:26Joe Johnson:Yeah. Well, I just went through, so where are they? So when I put it to you like that. Matter of fact, what you just did is you named tier one teams when it comes to talent. I named teams in the AFC. I'm going by tiers, though.
58:42Shannon Sharpe:Okay, we're going to take that division. Let's take that division. Do they got more talent than Baltimore? Cincinnati. Pittsburgh.
58:50Joe Johnson:Eh. That might be a little even. That might be a little even.
58:56Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Let's go to the AFC South. Houston. They up there. They got more talent in Houston. Yes or no?
59:05Joe Johnson:Jacksonville. Jacksonville got the edge offensively, but go ahead. The Colts. Ooh, the Colts is loaded, boy. The Colts is loaded. Okay. Now we got Tennessee. Eh. That's about even. That's about even. Okay, that's about even.
59:22Shannon Sharpe:Let's go to the AFC West. The Broncos. That's a different ballgame.
59:28Joe Johnson:The Chargers. That's a different ballgame. Kansas City. Different ballgame. The Raiders. Yeah, okay, we back even again. Okay, AFC East. Talk to me. So now, you got the Patriots. Different ballgame. Buffalo. In a class of they own. Jansen Miami alright we back even so
59:52Shannon Sharpe:you got 16 teams you tied even with 4 of them so 12 teams you got 12 teams better than yours
1:00:00Joe Johnson:so hey totality now we can go position by position position by position there might be some areas where Cleveland might have better players at specific positions and every team
1:00:12Shannon Sharpe:that we talked about Joe what do they have that's better than Cleveland? Quarterback. Quarterback, yeah.
1:00:19Joe Johnson:Every last one of those teams. Hey, listen, that's why I'm trying to nitpick. Now, if we go by positions, now we talk about Denzel Ward. We talk about the top three corner NFL. That's just one person, though. Brother Jared Verse, who's now there, who's taking over Miles Garrett. I like it. I like them defensively. Yeah, absolutely.
1:00:40Shannon Sharpe:Absolutely. But guess what? they had a guy that got 23 sacks last year and they still couldn't make the playoff no matter how good your defense is you can't overcome in our offense your offense got to do something because guess what if they keep throwing your ass back down the field guess what's gonna get exposed think about it what you call him had five sacks didn't uh miles got have five sacks and
1:01:04Joe Johnson:they got beat by 24 points the fact that he was getting all these sacks and the other team and they playing from behind? I don't understand. I don't understand. The team they're playing again doesn't even have to throw the ball. And he's still getting sacks.
1:01:19Shannon Sharpe:So, that's the thing. And the thing is, look, I wish Deshaun nothing but the best. But it's just hard for me to see a scenario, guys, where he picks up and became what he became in 2020. I just don't see it. I don't. And I think he has to be that in order for them to because those teams that we mentioned, those teams are good. Houston's loaded. Houston, the Texans are loaded. If CJ can play, if CJ plays like he did his rookie year, that's a Super Bowl team. Hold on. Hey, Joe, that was a Super Bowl team last year. They defense? Until he laid. But you saw that man play. Yeah, yeah.
1:02:04Joe Johnson:What do you think, like four picks? Four or five. I think it also hurt Nico Collins this time he had three in the first half I think hey hold on they gonna be straight this year Tankdale coming back I'm seeing some of the clips with Tankdale boy I saw him too yeah
1:02:21Shannon Sharpe:I love David Montgomery I love David Montgomery he even looked good Petrie I mean that defense gonna be rocking every time man that defense was outstanding and that defense always a one but CJ Stroud he got to put up a setup this year. He is.
1:02:39Joe Johnson:Yeah, you're right. You're right. I don't know if we have a segment tonight that we talk about any of these rookie receivers, but it's four I got on my radar. Boy, Jesus Christ. What's that? Jordan Tyson over there is acting a fool over there in New Orleans. Cornell Tate is over there acting a fool in Tennessee. Young bull. I don't know. Chad, I don't know. Is it Anthony Robinson? Is it out of Clemson? Am I saying his name right? That's over there with the commanders? Who are you? He cutting up. Please, Chad, please. Hey, I done watched all. I done had the people send me some of his one-on-ones and some of his seven-on-seven stuff.
1:03:18Joe Johnson:He cutting up? Jesus Christ. I think I'm saying his name right. Anthony Robinson. I think so. What he reminds me of, he looks like Amon Ross St. Brown. His route running, his ability to create separation, his knack for manipulating the DB in front of him. Man, he looked nice. And young boy over there in... Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Antonio Williams. Antonio Williams, you'll probably see this clip. Man, bro, bro, bro, you the real deal. There's no reason. He should be the number three. Case closed, no questions asked. Antonio Williams, sorry for butchering your name. I'm bad. I got excited for a minute.
1:03:58Joe Johnson:But boy, you look good, you hear me? You look real good. And that young boy Cyrus Allen over there in Kansas City? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard about him. Man, listen. That's going to be another security blanket for Patrick Mahomes based on what I've seen from him as well. And them four, them four right there, probably going to come in. I think Concepcion is going to play well, obviously, in Cleveland. But those four right now, I'm talking about immediate impact, day one. Welcome to the NFL.
1:04:29Shannon Sharpe:I hope you're right. No, I hope you're right with Cleveland because I sure won't. Even if Deshaun's not there, I want him to. I don't want him to be. I want him to have a couple of good years, a couple of good years. So this is not like, man, man, Deshaun was this and then he just stepped off a clip. Put together a couple of good years if you can. Shador, I want Shador to get an opportunity to play and to show that he can play at this level and he can play at an elite level because he's been very good at every level that he's played at. You look at when he goes to Jackson State and he does good there, and it's like, well, yeah, but that's Jackson State.
1:05:07Shannon Sharpe:He goes to Colorado and he turns that team around, and it's only Colorado. All he does is win, and then everybody makes excuses for why he's winning and how he won. At the end of the day, then you win.
1:05:20Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, you know who else you got to watch for too, Unk?
1:05:23Shannon Sharpe:Who that?
1:05:24Joe Johnson:That goddamn Jacoby Lane over there in Baltimore?
1:05:28Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
1:05:29Joe Johnson:And Makai Lemon, I haven't seen much from Makai Lemon. You know, Philly doesn't put out enough clips as opposed to the other teams. But them, them, them.
1:05:38Shannon Sharpe:Man, all I see is Kansas City is a, what you call them, K-9. He's hitting people with the balls. He's fighting everybody, ain't he? Yeah. Yeah. I've seen that too. Well, damn.
1:05:50Joe Johnson:He said he hit too damn hard here. Hey, hold on. You saw the fight. You saw the fight with Miles Garrett. Not Miles Garrett. God damn. Kirk Cousins and...
1:06:00Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Max Crosby. I'm surprised.
1:06:03Joe Johnson:Somebody got that video, man. I didn't see what happened, Ocho. He must have touched. You know, you're not supposed to touch the quarterback. You never touch the quarterback. He probably flashed by him more than one time and Kirk probably got frustrated. Probably threw the ball at him or something. I hope somebody got to leak that clip. I got to see that.
1:06:22Shannon Sharpe:We're going to talk about first cousins later. Makai Lemon is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. So, hopefully, Hopefully, he gets that rectified. They're going to be cautious with that because the last thing you want is a guy limping into the season. Yeah. Hey, don't worry about it. I mean, you took the guy with the first-round draft pick, so obviously you have very high expectations. You know what he's more than capable of doing. Man, don't be fooling around with that because that's the last thing. You don't want that thing.
1:06:48Joe Johnson:I hate the fact that people are getting hurt in training camp. Not training camp. I hate that, man. man. Hey,
1:06:58Shannon Sharpe:that mean they, first off, that mean they going extra hard on Kaocho. And if, you know, you got a lot of guys, man, who use training camp to get in shape. Yeah. You can't do that. You can't do that. You couldn't do that back then. You can't do that, man. You can't. Well, back, back in the 80s, Joe, they would go to, they would go to camp for like eight, 12 weeks.
1:07:22Joe Johnson:long time. Damn.
1:07:24Shannon Sharpe:So, yeah, you had time for, you had time to do it. Nah, hell nah. With the kind of money that they're paying you and with the kind of money that they pay these guys now, Ocho, why would you not want to be in shape? You know what it is? I mean, for the most part, your top guy, I mean, the average salary has got to be like$3 million a year. Probably. When you take the minimum salary and all the way to the top, you condense it down, it's got to be like$3 million, Ocho. Yeah. And do me a favor. Look at what the minimum salary, what the average salary is in the NFL. It's got to be like$2.5 million,$3 million.
1:07:59Shannon Sharpe:Got to be. Man, you know how easy. Because ain't nobody making no$60 ,000 like I did when I came in the league. Hell, everybody making$300 ,000,$400 ,000 at least. Hell, practice squad guys, Ocho, making$10 ,000,$11 ,000 a week. Hey, man, you know how easy camp you. Dang. $5.2 million, Ocho. That is the average salary. You mean to tell me you couldn't hire a trainer? With that, Ocho, you could hire you a nice trainer. Even if you wanted to, Ocho, you could get you a chef for$150 ,000,$200 ,000 to cook for you in the off-season, to get your butt in shape and a trainer. So I spent, so, Ocho, if somebody told you, said, Ocho, give me$350 ,000, at the end of the year, I'll give you$5.2 million.
1:08:46Shannon Sharpe:Would you do that?
1:08:47Joe Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'd do that. I'd do that. But one thing you ain't got to worry about me, is coming in shape. Because hell, I don't even play and I ain't stopped moving yet. Joe, I got to be doing something, boy.
1:09:01Shannon Sharpe:Hey, man. That's what I don't get. It makes a world of a difference. When you go into camp in shape,
1:09:08Joe Johnson:camp easy, bro. I think most of the receivers come in shape anyway, because they spend the offseason, they always doing something. They always doing something. They take them a little break. especially the elite ones. They take them a little break, you know. But talking about working, all of them post their workout stuff, and half of them work out here in Miami throughout the whole offseason.
1:09:30Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I push myself. Yeah, they are. I need camp to be easy. I need camp to be a breeze. So I'm going to push myself in the offseason. I'm going to get plenty of rest, stay hydrated. Hydration is a big thing. Because if you got something weak or it's something that's not hydrated properly, muscles not hydrated. Something going to pull. Don't worry. You're going to tweak something. Yeah. Yeah. And it doesn't always, sometimes it'll start tingling. You're like, okay, let me back this thing off. I'm done for the day. Let me go get hydrated. Hey, let me get a massage. Let me ice this thing for a couple of days and see where I'm at in a couple of days.
1:10:08Shannon Sharpe:Sometimes that thing's just like, ah, see, you weren't doing what you're supposed to, so I got to get you now. Yeah, I got to get you that. Quiet confidence. 1:10:46Honestly, honestly, honestly, no one wants to think about HIV, but there are things that everyone can do to help prevent it. Things like PrEP. PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis, and it means routinely taking prescription medicine before you're exposed to HIV to help reduce your chances of getting it. PrEP can be about 99 % effective when taken as prescribed. It doesn't protect against other STIs, though, so be sure to use condoms and other healthy sex practices. Ask a healthcare provider about all your prevention options and visit findoutaboutprep.com to learn more. Sponsored by Gilead.
