After watching a friend grow through a loss a few weeks ago, I saw how quickly grief turned into financial stress. No one deserves that feeling. I saw him feel, ever. And I mean no one. No matter what I offered to help, it wasn't enough. And I promised my family I would never make them feel the same way my buddy felt. Please drink responsibly and stay safe. We got Shakur Stevenson. We got Rolly Romero joining us tonight. But first, we got to get into the shocking turn of events involving Max Crosby. Ocho, Raiders broke the news that the trade had sending Max Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round draft picks had been rescinded.
8:14Shannon Sharpe:Raiders alleged in a statement that the Ravens had backed out of the agreement reached four days earlier. It was then reported that medical concerns arose during Crosby's physical and were a catalyst for the dissolution of the deal. Ravens GM Eric DaCosta said today, nobody is more except than him. Gutted by it, actually, big regret for me, but we will move forward at the football team. DaCosta added that losing Senator Tyler Lindenbaum to the Raiders, the Ravens envisioned a possibility of pairing Crosby with Hendricks, whom the team signed today. but Crosby's medical outlook prevented the possibility from materializing.
8:55Shannon Sharpe:Jane Slater reported that the Ravens considered renegotiating the Crosby trade to account for the team's discomfort with the edge rushers' prognosis. Ultimately, however, the team opted to withdraw from the deal entirely. Ocho, we don't normally see this. Now, the Ravens have been in a situation where, if I remember correctly, the Brock Marion, they really liked him, but he had a shoulder issue. Michael Brockers had a knee issue, and they rescinded the deal that was on the table. But you're talking about Max Crosby. He did have a meniscus injury. Reports are that he had been dealing with this all year.
9:30Shannon Sharpe:This happened and started bothering him in the offseason. He played through it. He ended up having surgery. And the type of surgery that he has, that's somewhere between a three - and a six-month recovery time. And I don't know if it's a lateral meniscus or a medial meniscus. but that is a loan because he had it torn and I guess he had it repaired. If what the reports are true, that is a long, that's a big timetable, but that puts him on to be recovered probably around June. Ocho training camp starts about six weeks later in late July. So who knows? Like I said, it could be early June, could be late June, but still he would have three weeks and I'm, I'm sure he'd be a limited participant and you kind of build him up to get him ready to go come September.
10:16Shannon Sharpe:when you heard that the trade for Max Prosby had been rescinded what did you think and you're like okay what's going on
10:23Chad Johnson:I've never seen anything like that especially a player like Max Prosby that's an impact player that makes your team exponentially better right away just his presence alone and the fact that it rescinded it I didn't know what was going on and the first thing that dawned on me well maybe he failed his physical obviously that's the only thing I could think of because I know a player a player himself wouldn't say you know what I don't want to be here and he lets the team know he doesn't he rather wishes not to not to be here but once that did happen I thought about it well understanding that he they knew he had a knee issue he they knew about the the the knee surgery knew about the knee surgery I mean I'm I'm confused what did you what did you expect the physical to look like obviously he's he's in rehab obviously he's recovering he would probably be ready in time for football season to play.
11:14Chad Johnson:And the fact that he played on it and had 10 plus sacks or maybe 10 sacks this season and he was forced to sit out the last two games of the season, I think he would be okay. He would recover. So I'm confused on why they chose to do this, why they chose to rescind him being there. It makes no sense to me. And I like the fact that they were going to try to pair Hendrickson and Crosby together, hell, they would have been hell on wheels if they were able to pull that off.
11:45Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I think if you really look at it, Hendrickson might be a better pure pass rusher. But overall, I think because Crosby plays the run so much better than Hendrickson, I think he gives them a dynamic. And, you know, you've got to have somebody that can set the edge. And Max Crosby can set the edge, but he can also become very disruptive, pressure your quarterback, and get to your quarterback. Hendrickson, we've seen over the last couple of years in which he wasn't injured. You see the numbers that he's put up. He is a pure pass rusher, drafted by the New Orleans Saints, and ended up going to, became a free agency and goes to Cincinnati and played extremely well.
12:21Shannon Sharpe:Reports are that he probably took a little less money to go to Baltimore, but I think there were some hard feelings. He's like, you had years to get this done. Now all of a sudden you want me because I could potentially be going to a division rival. Ochoa, look, and I agree with you in everything that you said, They knew he had surgery. And maybe you're looking at it because you're looking at it long term because you got Max Cross, but I think you owe him$100-something million on that contract. Now, if I'm not mistaken, I could be wrong in chat. Forgive me if I'm misspeaking. I think this is the only year in which he has guaranteed money on the contract.
12:53So now I'm looking at an Ocho, and he's only 29.
12:58Shannon Sharpe:Okay, yes, he had surgery on the knee. But what doctors can see is that what you to the neck and untrained eye can't see is degeneration that it looks good this year but what happens next year and as we move on now you're talking about somebody that dealing with degeneration in the knee so i got a a a a very arthritic right knee same thing with the left knee and i got basically bone on bone on the lateral side which is the outside and i'm damn near bone on bone on the inside which is the medial meniscus and what has happened is i've gotten older stuff start to happen this is what and you see it when a lot of old people old children they didn't play sports your body just get older and cartilage starts to dissipate and you get that bone on bone i'm fortunate enough to be in a situation where i can afford you know great medical care and i don't have all these hang-ups i can go okay what's going on now insurance company wouldn't take care of whatever I had going on, so I had to pay for my own MRI.
13:59Shannon Sharpe:No problem. And then I go to one doctor. He says, okay, you can do X, Y, and Z. I go come to the doctor out here. I'm at Curlin' Job and go to the doctor that did my hips. And he looks at it like, well, Shadow, let me explain it to you. It's an X, Y, and Z, so forth and so on. But you know, you got degenerative knees. And eventually, hey, I'm not telling you anything that you didn't already know. You're going to have to have a knee replacement. If not one, probably both of your knees. But the right knee that I'm looking at now, you're going to have to. So I think that's what the Ravens doctors are looking at, that, okay, yeah, it's healing up properly, but we see some degeneration in this knee.
14:34And that's never good because, you know, to be on the hook for a knee that could be,
14:39Shannon Sharpe:just me speculating. Now, I haven't talked to anybody, but I'm sitting there as a doctor. You're probably looking at Ravens, like, hold on now. In order for this to make sense to us, Ocho, because you've got to realize what we're giving up. We're giving up the number 14 pick this year. and who knows what that pick, you hope that if the trade would have gone through we're somewhere 32, ideally we're 32 if we give up a 32 pick next year you know what that means Ocho, we won the Super Bowl most definitely, 31 that means we're in the Super Bowl, honestly 29-30 29-30 Ocho, we're in the championship game
15:12Chad Johnson:this is what I'm thinking about, you think about a player that's 29 years old a player like Matt Crosby that's a disruptor, he's been in the NFL for a few years, and if you If you take an MRI, if you do an MRI of all the players that have eight, nine, or ten years or more, I'm sure there's something alarming when everybody's MRI if you look at it. It always is. Nobody is 100 % healthy. Everyone has issues, whatever it may be. I just know the Matt Cross that we saw that was on the field last year with the Las Vegas Raiders was an impact player, and he made a difference every time he was out there, even during a losing effort.
15:46Chad Johnson:He was still a disruptor. He still was able to set the edge. He was still able to disrupt the past depending on who they were playing. It really didn't matter. No one can stop him. You can only hope to contain a player like Max. So to let him go because of what you see, you know, in an MRI when he was already hurt last year and he's recovering, he has rehab, and you doctors have the resources to get him as healthy as possible, and you know what you get with an almost healthy or even 90 % or 95 % Max Crosby, and you let him go and understanding what he can do for your team and making your team exponentially better, especially if you pair him with Henderson.
16:23Chad Johnson:I'm like, I don't see – listen, it's a business decision. On their part, I just understand as great as he is, even with a messed up knee where he's going to recover, where he's going to rehab, there's no way I send him back. But obviously, listen, I don't own the goddamn Ravens. It ain't my decision.
16:43Shannon Sharpe:You ain't got$100-plus million. But here's the thing, Ocho. What if I told you you can get a very similar player? Hold up. And this is what they do. Ocho, what if I told you I could get you a similar house for about$67 million cheaper. The payments will be cheaper monthly. Pretty much the same house. Maybe a 500 square foot different. But it's going to be probably over the course of it, I'd probably say you're about$28 million. But I'm going to get you a very similar house right there. A two acre lot, nice size, infinity pool, probably about 12 ,000 square feet, seven baths, full baths, you know, two half baths, you know, eight bedrooms.
17:33Shannon Sharpe:Gorgeous. A theater. If I told you I can get you a similar house to the one that you really love, but I'm going to save you twenty eight million dollars. would you be interested and and and you're not going to have to give up those two first round picks would you because I
17:52Chad Johnson:you could you could but I'm in the now right now I'm in the now I'm not I'm not worried about down down the road I'm trying to okay I'm playing poker I'm putting all my cars on the table I'm putting all the cars on the table and I'm trusting my I'm trusting my doctors to an extent because I want Max Crosby here. You got to. I want Max Crosby here. We got goddamn we got Trey Henderson in the building. We're negotiating this contract. We have Max in the building. I'm taking all my cards and I'm putting on the table. I'm out. I'm out. But here's the thing. I'm taking a gamble. I'm taking
18:28Shannon Sharpe:a gamble. I'm not taking a gamble with two first round picks. If I can get them at a lower rate, I can take a gamble.
18:36Chad Johnson:You talk about two first round picks, you don't know what you're kidding. There's no telling that those two first-round picks are coming to make any goddamn difference.
18:44Shannon Sharpe:But what if his knee doesn't hold up this year? What if that knee is bad and then I'm stuck? What if that knee is like Dante Culpepper's knee? Then what do I do? How did he look before they
18:54Chad Johnson:forced him?
18:56Shannon Sharpe:How did Dante Culpepper look before he had that knee?
18:57Chad Johnson:We're not talking about Dante Culpepper.
18:58Shannon Sharpe:We're talking about Max Crosby, the one that played all season long. You gotta base it on the medicals, Ocho. He was hurt all season long. He gave you 10 sacks. What are we talking about? No, he didn't. He gave me. They made him sit out the last two games. If you go back and look at it, look at the numbers. Trey Henderson versus Max Crosby 2019 to where they are now. Who has more sacks? Who has a high pressure rate? I don't have nothing in front of me. And I can get Trey Henderson. I can get Trey Henderson for about$5 to$7 million a year cheaper, and I don't have to give up ish. So I can get, Ocho, I can get you in this house, and you don't have to put a down pay to them.

19:38Chad Johnson:I understand what you're saying, Unk, but I understand what you're saying, but I'm looking at it from a different standpoint. As a team, as an organization, as a team, as an organization that continues to miss in the first round, as a team and an organization that was horrible on defense last year, especially at the beginning of the season, how bad our backing is or was, you know, constantly getting beat. How can I make a difference? I'm gambling. This is what it's all about.
20:05Shannon Sharpe:I'm gambling. But you make it seem like Trey Henderson. You make it seem like Trey Henderson is a bum. The man had 35 sacks in two years. I'm not calling him a bum. You know I wouldn't do that. I'm just saying he had two. But I'm saying you are. But I'm saying you make it seem like Max Crosby is just exponentially. Hold on. This is not a Miles Garrett situation now. If you're talking about Miles Garrett, okay, we're having a conversation. Because that's a two-time defensive player of the year. And a guy that has like 125 sacks in like eight, nine years.
20:33Chad Johnson:But you mean to tell me I get the best of both worlds? I get the best of both worlds. Now, on one hand, I have a player who's injured, who just had surgery, but I understand what I get based off the small sample size of how I've seen him in Las Vegas and what he's done on an injured knee. I'm trusting the process. I'm trusting the doctors. I'm trusting rehab. I'm trusting all the doctors. You're trusting who doctors?
20:58Shannon Sharpe:So why do you have those doctors on payroll if you're not going to trust them to appropriately evaluate players that are coming in that you're going to have to spend$100-plus million and give a first-round pick this year, which is number 14, and next year's first-rounder. I can understand. If it's 32, no problem. That means we won the Super Bowl. But, and I get it, Drew Brees had a very simple situation. Miami Dolphins flunked his shoulder on the physical. He goes to New Orleans and we know what happened. Now the same thing could happen.
21:31Chad Johnson:Same thing could happen. could happen. You know what? For them causing this mess, this is what I'm hoping. This is what I'm hoping. I'm not a crystal ball, but most of the time since we've been on this show, sometimes I've been right. I've been right 98 % of the time when I talk about players going certain places and it's come to fruition. You know what would be a funny thing that the Bengals could do? You know what would be a funny thing that the Bengals could do? Go get Max Crabby. They could take that chance. They can trust in our doctors they can trust in the rehab process and hoping he's back and knowing even with a a non healthy mac crosby we saw what he did last year we saw what he did last year where the raiders force him to sit those last two games out i would love for it to happen i would i would love for it
22:20Shannon Sharpe:to happen but the thing is now you're saying i can get max crosby i don't have a problem I have a problem if the knee is as bad as the Ravens doctor think it is. We don't know. I'm an untrained eye. You're an untrained eye. But if it's as bad as the doctors and the Ravens believe it is, two first-round picks is off the table. Now he goes somewhere else, and I have to give up a third-round pick or a second - and a fifth-round pick. Now that's a deal. But two first-round picks?
22:50Chad Johnson:Ain't got to pay him$33 million a year? Come on, Ocho. I hear you. but I'm willing I'm willing to take the chance just like owners do all the time they take chance you're about to be Nico Harris you have to think about it though stay with me real quick opportunities like this to get a player that can change the direction of your franchise especially defensively don't come around that often don't come around that often even with the limb in Crosby he makes a difference we have to understand who we're talking about now We're not just talking about just the guy. We ain't talking about a jag. No, no, no, no.
23:28Chad Johnson:No help.
23:30Shannon Sharpe:He's the top five. He's the top five. Exactly.
23:31Chad Johnson:So that's why I would be a little hesitant. Okay, we got a little hiccup. Okay, we understand he had surgery, you know, and I don't know. I don't know. I'm not sure. I understand how you feel on it. I'm curious. I don't have my chat up. I'm curious to see what the chat thinks about it, but I would take that chance.
23:49Shannon Sharpe:I think they're back and forth, Ocho. Now, it could be a total situation like this. Bios remorse. Like, damn. We gave up two first-round picks, number 14 pick this year. We don't know what 27 is going to be. We're going to have to pay him somewhere$32,$33,$34 million a year in the knee situation. Or we can go get Trey Hendrickson, pay him$5 to$7 million cheaper per year and not give up anything.
24:22Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, I can get you in this house No down payment And I'm going to save you $28 million And the thing is, you know A house, I'm saving you$28 million And you don't have to put your money down
24:37Chad Johnson:I'm liking this You play poker? I do play poker I'm not a gambler I'm cheap, I'm financially celibate I'm financially celibate But in this situation, there's certain situations as a GM, as an owner, understanding how bad I was, understanding where my weaknesses are, especially defensively. And it all started. We talked about it all season goddamn long. Not only was the back end bad, hell, they couldn't get no goddamn press on nobody. This is one where I'm folding. If I got a hand, I'm folding based on who the player is, regardless of what that – No, you mean the pebble. You're going to play the hand.
25:13Chad Johnson:Fold means you throw your cards in.
25:15Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah, I'm throwing my cards in on Crosby. He coming. Come on. Come on. no if you can't throw your cards in you throw your cards in oh oh so in other words you said you're shoving you're going
25:25Chad Johnson:all in with surgery whatever forget listen okay if uh the costa is that his name the costa yeah i would listen to what the doctor say okay what this is what you see okay you know what i'm taking a chance on him anyway i'm taking a chance on the way with the book hell no i'm not i'm not
25:43Shannon Sharpe:because anytime you know you start getting 100 million dollars you know you got to go to the owner with that. So he's going to ask. He's going to come in there. He's going to want to sit down with Dr. Curl. I know Leanne Curl. She was the team doctor. She was there when I was there. He's bringing her in. What do you think, Doc? Look,
26:02Chad Johnson:I understand the player that he is, but it's risky. I like, I like, I'm taking that risk. We ain't talking about just anybody. We talk about a top five player at his position that can change. Can you imagine Henderson on one side Crosby on the other like
26:19Shannon Sharpe:before you go any further Diana Rossini reported as part of the proposed trades for Max Crosby the Ravens were also prepared to sign him to a revised contract that would have paid him near the top of past Russia's market Max agent CJ LaBoire responded with two words fake news so everybody keeps saying that the goal the objective was to sign Crosby and Henderson. Max Crosby's agent said, basically that's not true. Crosby still could get traded, but they're not getting no first round on him. I don't believe they'll get a first round on him. Now, Ocho, now, because here's the thing with the Raiders, the Raiders spent a quarter of a billion dollars bringing in new players because they thought they were going to have Crosby's number off the books.
27:11Shannon Sharpe:Now, The question is, do you rehab him, keep him, or do you try to move him on? Me personally, you're definitely not getting two firsts. I don't believe you can get a first, but maybe a second and a fifth.
27:28Chad Johnson:Second and a third. Second and a third. Second and a third. Hey, Mr. Brown, Mike Brown, I know we got a lot of Bengal fans in the chat. Hey, he coming to Cincinnati. He coming to Cincinnati. Why not? Why not? Make it make sense. And you know what? I like the fact that the Ravens did this. I like the fact that the Ravens played this game, you know? So basically, they telling you how they feel about you anyway. So what better message? What better message? You go to a division rival. And then not only that, now you got a chip on the shoulder. Now you done pissed him off. So that's how y 'all feel?
28:05Chad Johnson:Okay, I'm going to show you. I'm going to show you. And how can he get him back? He can get him back by his play on the field. he can get and that's the type of player he is do you think this hurts baltimore's reputation
28:18Shannon Sharpe:around the league to have a deal in place because the deal is not consummated until the player now he has to pass that team that's trading for him doctors physical they have to be okay with it do you think this hurts bought the raven's reputation because prior to this for the most part the rep the Ravens' reputation has been perfect. Christine,
28:39Chad Johnson:you think it's hurting? No, absolutely not. Absolutely not. It's still the Baltimore Ravens. It's still, they still are who they are. When it comes to business, when it comes to money, players are going to go where they're wanted. Players are going to go where they're valued. If money talks, they will be there. Now, for us, the talking heads and those on the outside looking in, maybe we might feel this situation might ruin their reputation, but when it comes to business, when it comes to money, and when it comes to it's time to get paid and the team is willing to pay you, and if it happened to be the Baltimore Ravens and Mr.
29:10Chad Johnson:DaCosta and whoever else, they gone.
29:14Shannon Sharpe:Right.
29:18Shannon Sharpe:I agree with you, Ocho. I just think the thing is, it became, you look at it like, damn, two first-rounders. I don't think anybody else had that kind of number. You hear Dallas had a first and a second. You hear some teams have some other picks, but nobody a first two first and but still even even um even first with a guy coming off surgery see that's what and i was telling you last year about kurt cousins i said ocho you giving up 180 million dollars guaranteed for a guy that's coming off achilles a quarterback that he wasn't mobile to begin with and you draft the court and exacerbate the matter you take a quarterback with the number eight overall pick.
30:02Shannon Sharpe:And so that was my concern, is that a guy that's coming, if Max Crosby was 100 % healthy Ocho, he had no surgeries. I think two ones is fine. But coming off the surgery, I'm a little more apprehensive than I would be had he not been coming off that surgery. I know sometimes you got to roll the dice. New Orleans was willing to roll the dice but here the difference is with Drew Brees Drew Brees didn't cost you any compensation and basically it was a deal worth$10 million we're talking about a deal worth north of $100 million in two first round I
30:44Chad Johnson:understand it I know what you feel but those two first round picks they ain't coming and making that kind of difference like Maxie they ain't gonna make that kind of noise if you get Matt Crosby at their healthy. I just know. So, look, he still could be dealt. Oh, he's going to be dealt. You know, right there. He's going to be at Covington Airport. I'm going to pick him up. Don't worry about it. Yeah, I'm going to pick him up. Don't worry about it.
31:15Shannon Sharpe:It would be very interesting to know, Joe. I mean, that could happen. But what if he goes to the Browns? With Miles? With Miles Gatt.
31:23Chad Johnson:Oh, hell no. Hey, hey, hey, come on, man. Hey, come on, man. Come on. Hey, don't do that. Hey, don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. Hey, just the thought of that. That's nasty work. That's nasty work.
31:37Shannon Sharpe:Look, would I be surprised the Patriots get involved? Would I be surprised if the Eagles get involved? If there's a situation where the Bears could become involved. Anybody that think they're close, if they are past Russia away, I'm like, okay, we know two firsts are off the table. I'm not so sure a first is on the table. How do we get a deal done with Max? How do we get a deal done between you and I for Max Crosby? Ocho, you say you'd be willing to give him for two and a three. Okay. Maybe a two and a three this year and a four or a fifth, according to how he plays. The fifth goes to a fourth if he gets double-digit sacks, X, Y, and Z.
32:21Shannon Sharpe:but don't be surprised if somebody you're like ah man how they let the eagles get this man how they let the patriots get this man i mean because i saw the patriots they let anthony anthony uh jennings go anthony jennings go good pass rusher solid pass rusher not great but solid set the edge you know the one thing that the patriots linebackers can do is set the edge They're big guys, set the edge, great against the run, and pressure a little bit. So now you get him and you get Chase on and you get Milton Williams. Got something. Or you pair him with the Bears, you got something. So, hey, Detroit.
33:07Shannon Sharpe:Because you hear somebody was looking at, I think, was it the Patriots or the Eagles was looking at Grinner from Minnesota Vikings. look you can never have enough pass rushers that's one thing you can never have just like pass catchers you can't have enough of them they're hard to come by that is an art form so Max like he said Dr. Neil Elitrach at Curling Joe performed the surgery he says he's tracking quite well but at the end of the day I don't think that's what he's supposed to say I think you know everybody's saying the agent saying what he's supposed to say the doctor that performed the surgery said what he's supposed to say but at the end of the day the Ravens and their medical staff have to feel comfortable enough when they go to Steve Bishotti because Steve Bishotti is going to be cutting the check in excess of probably 100 million dollars 33 plus million dollars this year is guaranteed no guaranteed money on the um Dallas Cowboy head team trainer Daniel Cooper was instrumental in the Ravens backing out of the trade Cooper who's a knee specialist.
34:13Shannon Sharpe:Guess what, Ocho? He did the Patrick Mahomes surgery. Normally, he does surgery that's really, really complicated. The Patrick Mahomes surgery. You remember Jalen Smith? He signed up on the Jalen Smith. Remember his name? When he snapped his leg.
34:26Chad Johnson:He was a linebacker.
34:29Shannon Sharpe:Yep. Malik Neighbors. He reviewed Crosby's recent knee surgery MRI and deemed it too risky. Oh, man. Now, you're talking about... Here's the thing, Ocho. You know, the kind of money that these teams have, they're sending you to the best of the best. Whatever, the spine guy, the head guy, the foot guy, the knee guy, whatever it is, you're going to the best. If you got something going on and they can't figure it out, they're sending your ass to John Hopkins. They're sending your ass to the Mayo Clinic. They're sending you to MD Anderson. They're sending you to the Cleveland Clinic. They're sending you to the best of the best.
35:09Shannon Sharpe:and it's like that's why they command that's why they get the big bucks that's why they get the big bucks and most of the guys you go into the Curlin Joe office and you look up there are them jerseys on the wall you see Aaron Donald you see Clayton Kershaw you see Verlander you see Cooper Cup and you see if it's somebody Russell Westbrook you see those jerseys on the wall thanks doc gave me my career back, got my life back. You understand why.
35:42Chad Johnson:Yeah, I got you. I just, hey, I see them doctors. They, man, hey, let me, you know. See, man, I'm hot, boy. I'm hot. I'm hot. I'm hot. Hey, but now y 'all, now you guys might be in play.
35:57Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I just don't like that.
35:58Chad Johnson:You know, I had a doctor. To me, it almost seems like, you know, not other doctors from other teams are speaking out about it and speaking about the knee and, like, it's decreasing his value and what he can get and what his worth is. I hate that. I don't like the fact that they're diminishing, you know, this young fellow who had rehab, who had surgery, and is trying to do everything he can to get himself back into the playing shape and playing form. And now we got all these doctors, and I just –
36:28Shannon Sharpe:That's what they do, Ocho. I mean, teams, like, if you got a back injury, more times than not, Dr. Watkins is going to do the surgery. If you got foot problems, you go into the guy Anderson. I think it's in Charlotte. Hey, they pay these guys. They put these guys on retainer, and they pay these guys a lot of money. You mess up. They're going to fire your ass. They will fire you. There's a reason why Dr. Andrews.
36:53Chad Johnson:You see what happened with the Dolphins, right, with Drew Brees? Now this is going to be the same thing. They say, oh, no. They say stay away from Drew. And look what he turned out to be. this could this could this could possibly be i'm just i'm just saying i understand what the doctors are saying it could be understanding doctors know they get paid the big bucks everybody heals differently now what you see might not be the way or the outcome in which you think based on what you see as a doctor it might not affect them ever again again
37:23Shannon Sharpe:max crosby tweeted everything happens for a reason believe nothing you hear in half of what you see I'm a Raider. I'm back. Run that ish.
37:38Damn.
37:41Shannon Sharpe:Me personally, Ocho, I think there's a greater chance he's on some other roster. Eagles, the Bengals, the Patriots, Chicago. I think there's a greater chance he's on running those rosters as opposed to State. Now, he could. He could. He could.
37:56Chad Johnson:I'm going to tell you what my grandma used to tell me long time ago. When you speak, you got to understand that the tongue is powerful. And you got to speak things into existence. Power in the tongue. You know, and today, you know. He tried to speak to Cosby. But by the powers invested in me, I'm hoping and praying that Brother Cosby, he might be watching the show. Come on down here to Cincinnati, man. We going to take good care of you. Hell, you can have my goddamn knees. I don't need them no more. Shit.
38:34Shannon Sharpe:Come on, Brother Crosby. That's what you want to have if you want to be going to Cincinnati? Yes, sir. He got a chance. What if Cleveland jump in on it?
38:45Chad Johnson:Nah, that ain't going to happen. They got Brother Miles. They got Brother Miles.
38:49Shannon Sharpe:Just imagine him and Miles on one side.
38:51Chad Johnson:They have too many pieces they need to pay on the offensive side of the ball. They don't need to worry about it. Nothing else defense.
38:57Shannon Sharpe:It seems like they're going to the draft because they damn sure haven't done a whole lot.
39:01Chad Johnson:Yeah.
39:02Shannon Sharpe:It's quiet over there. It's quiet over there. Now, it could be a situation where
39:12Shannon Sharpe:I'm thinking, Philly, hey, man, hey, Patriots, what y 'all want? What y 'all going to give us to AJ? The reports are they're holding sturdy on a first round pick of AJ.
39:24Chad Johnson:I mean, I don't see what it doesn't seem to be.
39:26Shannon Sharpe:No, what's biting on that?
39:28Chad Johnson:How are you not going to bite on it? I mean, we know what he is. We know what he can do. We know what he is. We know what he can do. Not too long ago, he was just a top five receiver in the NFL based on the production. Now, the production wasn't the same. We know why the production wasn't the same. That's neither here nor there. We don't need to get into that. We didn't have a discourse on that. You know, first round pick for A.J. Brown. What are we talking about? Makes us that much better. But, hey, Romeo Dobbs. Romeo Dobbs went to the Patriots. The Patriots.
39:57Shannon Sharpe:Yes. I think the thing is, look, it seems like Cleveland's loading up on linemen. And I know they were loading up on linemen. They got Elk. Yes, Elk and Jenkins. I think they got another guy from Green Bay. That seems to be what they're doing, Ocho. They haven't really gotten to skilled position players. We know Njoku's leaving. And we feel that they need – look, they got Harold Fanning, who had a fabulous rookie season. I think they need some help. I think they need some receiver help. I think they need a stud receiver. Now, I don't know if AJ wants to go there, but that would be a great place.
40:32Shannon Sharpe:You're going to get targets. They might be inconsistent because until Shadour grows and matures into that position, Andrew Barry said that, look, we're going to put this thing up, and it might be between Shadour and Watson, Deshaun Watson. I don't know. But dealing with Crosby, I think I see both sides of the prism. I see what you're saying. You're saying, hey, he's been so good, man. Hey, I'm willing to shove all in. I'm going to go all in. I understand the risk that is involved, but I'm willing to absorb those risks to get a player of Max Crosby. I also understand the Ravens said, man, this is an awful lot of money, and we got to give up two first-round picks for a player that our team staff, our medical staff is saying have a degenerative knee.
41:17Shannon Sharpe:I see both sides of the equation. I'm glad. I'm glad. See, I want easy decisions. I want LeBron James coming out. Yep, I got him. I want Shaq coming out. Yep, I got him. I want Tim Duncan coming out. Yep, I got him. I want it easy, Ocho. Man, you know what? Matthew Stafford coming out. I got Stafford. I got L. Wade. I want it easy like that, Ocho. I don't want to have that. Damn. Whew. That's a part of the game. That's right. Jamarcus Russell or Calvin Johnson. I want Peyton Manning or Ryan Lee. I don't want it like that. I want a slam dunk.
41:56Chad Johnson:It's never like that.
41:58Shannon Sharpe:I don't want a free throw. I want a slam dunk. I want Shaq. I want Duncan. I want LeBron. I want Stafford. I want Elway. I want it easy. and but this that's why you mentioned big bucks i mean everybody talking about oh it's easy it's easy boom boom boom boom boom oh oh we're lost it feels like we're going round in circles i'm gonna ask that man for directions hi there we're trying to get to the state fairgrounds

45:54Shannon Sharpe:Historic 83.9 against the Wizards last night presented fans with a choice of four sides. Look, you had to pick a side. You celebrated or you audited. Many are discrediting it because the opponent, the Wizards, are the second worst in the East. Others are discrediting it because the Heat had filed late in the fourth quarter to help extend the game. Kobe took 46 shots in his legendary game, three more than Bam, and made 18 or 20 free throws. Bam took 46 free throws to Kobe's 20. Bam Pierce came to his defense. KD said, I looked at the stat sheet. It was pretty crazy. 40 shots, 40 free throws, 23.
46:32Shannon Sharpe:But that takes a lot of stamina, man. Huge accomplishment. It will be something we talk about forever. Yana says, it doesn't matter how you got there. All that matters is that you got it. Look, like in 10, 20, 30 years from now, no one's going to remember how many free throws he shot. I don't think anyone remember how many shots Kobe shot or how many free throws he made or how many threes. All you remember is 83. Toronto Raptors record, when Kobe broke his record, they were 14-26 at the time on January the 22nd, 2006. The 12th worst in the East. They were 12th in the East, 4th worst. They were 12th in the East, 4th worst in the East.
47:12So what you thinking, Ocho?
47:14Shannon Sharpe:Because a lot of people are talking about, man, out of respect for Kobe, he should have stopped it for 81. But the way y 'all talk about Kobe, is that what Kobe would have been?
47:23Chad Johnson:You know what? I'm glad you just said that. The first thing when I watched Twitter and when I seen some of the stuff on Instagram is if Kobe was here, Kobe would congratulate him. Kobe would be happy for him. And all the people taking up for Kobe are doing exactly what he wouldn't do. So I understand we are Kobe fans. We love him. The fact that he had an 81-point game. But only three people have scored 80 points. with Kobe and Bam. And Kobe would have been happy for him. We know how he is. He celebrated everybody, especially when they hit a milestone of this magnitude. Regardless of how you got it, it's still 83 points.
48:00Chad Johnson:It's still 83 points. And some people, this is one of the few times I don't understand. Why don't we celebrate things like this? I'm not... Kobe fans are unbearable. I'm not much of a basketball fan.
48:13Shannon Sharpe:That's not the record. When Kobe scored 81, the record is 100 so somebody needs to score 101 or more points to have the record 81 is not the record i don't get it oh it's like anything sometimes people break records and it takes some more games like when oj simpson broke the record he broke the record in 14 games eric dickinson broke the record in 16 games somebody's gonna come along if they break the record it's gonna take 17 games So whatever record happens moving forward, and this is what they try to do to Miles. They're like, well, he did it in 17 games. It's the NFL record, sack record. That is the record.
48:53Shannon Sharpe:But this notion, and I saw when they announced it in the crib, they were booing. Why?
49:00Chad Johnson:Yeah.
49:01Shannon Sharpe:Why? I don't care if the, yes. See, this, Kobe had a chance, because there are games that Kobe had 60 plus, and he came out in the third quarter. I like Spoh. Spoh say the way he had it going, I wasn't even thinking about taking him out. And I instructed the team, let's see how many we can get him. It happens. Ocho, you having a good game? The game T.O. had. That was on Jerry Rice's day. 20 catches. Brandon Marshall, 21 catches. Josh McDaniel says, hey, we're going to lose this game, but we're going to get you the record. I don't have a problem with it. Come on, man. We got to stop this, man. It's 83 effing points.
49:45Shannon Sharpe:And I get it. That Bam is probably the unlikeliest guy. If you'd have thought somebody would get it, you'd say Luka. You'd say Donovan Mitchell. You'd say Dame Lillard. You'd say somebody like that that's going to make 10, 12, 15 threes. You're not staking no Bam out of bio. Bam, I don't even think Bam is averaging 20 points. If you go back and look at the guys that got those kind of numbers, all those guys at high 20s, even 30s, Luka's been in the 30s. Dave Lillard has averaged 30. Kobe averaged 35. So when you see Will average 50 in a game, 44 in a game, 38 in a game. So if somebody like that, I think it's because he's so unlikely to have done something like this.
50:33Shannon Sharpe:I mean, and you're looking at him, he's not – I don't even know if he's ever scored 50 in a game. I don't even know if he's ever scored 40 in a game. to go from your high being something in the 30s to all the way to 80s that is crazy listen it was
50:48Chad Johnson:dope to me it was dope to see i didn't i didn't believe the stat line when i first saw it i thought i thought it was uh thought it was ai you know when i saw the 80s yeah and then i i saw it go across the the ticker on esp and i was like oh man that's dope that's that that is dope and i i was happy i was hype and then i go on twitter yeah i'm like well god damn people writing think pieces and and defeating Kobe. Yes! Oh, it don't hit the same. 182?
51:13Shannon Sharpe:This 83 is different. This 83 is different than Kobe's 81. Kobe, bro, it's 83. It's 80 points. I mean, I think the thing is, Ocho, is somebody that they got a career high of 75 yards, and all of a sudden they have a 300-yard game. You're like, how do you get a 300-yard game? The most you ever received a yard you ever had in a game was 75, and now you got 300? You jump, so you jump over 150, 200, 250 to go from 75 to three. And I think that's what it is because, and the amount of free throws. I think the most free throw somebody's ever shot in a game was probably, what, 38? I think the White Howard shot that many.
51:52Shannon Sharpe:I mean, check me, but 46 free throws. And they was trying not to. I mean, I saw clips and they got three people on him and they don't want him to get it. It's crazy. Y 'all should have thought about that earlier before you let the man get 31 in the first quarter. How about that then? That's the time that you say, you know what? You're a no more, bro. You let the man get 36 in the quarter. I mean, 31 in the quarter. Then you let him get another 12. So he got 43. Now you let him get another 19. So now you're in trouble. And you let him get 21 in the fourth.
52:32Chad Johnson:I don't understand it I mean it's as if I mean it's still basketball it's still the NBA it is and then you know they moved the goalposts they moved the goalposts maybe because it's Bam maybe if it's Anthony Edwards maybe nobody would be complaining
52:50Shannon Sharpe:I bet your doorknob to a bucket of commoner Ocho had he just if LeBron had 81 and Bam broke that what you think the discourse would be on the internet How many people would be throwing a ticker tape parade? That would have been applauded. You know that and I know that. That's why he's smiling. You know that. But because it was Kobe, Kobe would have applauded this man. Oh, hold on. Y 'all don't remember when Kobe dropped 55 on Jordan and he idolized Jordan. How can he do his idol like that? Because Kobe said he would want it no other way. Kobe, I believe Kobe would have been pissed had Bam come out of the game with 80 or tied with him at 81.
53:36Shannon Sharpe:Nah, hell no. If I'm Spoh, I'm leaving him in the game. I'm going to see if he can get 90. Absolutely. I'm honestly going to see if he can get 90 points in the game.
53:46Chad Johnson:The funny thing about it is all those that are Kobe fans, they have a right to be Kobe fans, but they don't have Kobe's mentality. They don't have the mentality. You know how he operates. You know how he thinks. And you know that he would have actually wanted that.
53:59Shannon Sharpe:Of course. And look, I don't know how you feel, Ocho. But I know if I got, let's just say the record is 339. 339 or 336. 336 by Flip. Flip Raddison got the record. Ocho, you mean to tell me I don't give a damn if it's a meaningless game? Hey, hey, Shannon, you got 334. What you want to do? I want to go back, hey, let them score a touchdown and let me get back in there and get 337. That's what you do.
54:35Shannon Sharpe:Something needs to happen that I need to get back on the field and let me break this record. 83 points on Joe? 83? I mean, I'm just thinking. I'm like, man, and like KD said, think about it. That man shot the ball 43 times. And then he took another 43 free throw attempts. He took 22 three-point attempts. Do you know how much stamina it takes to run up and down the court in this to shoot? I tell you what, you think it's easy? Just, hey, just get you a nice little job and go shoot 86 times. Oh, he in good shape now. And 22 of them in cover three. And he in good shape now. Oh, he in good shape. That's what makes Steph Curry so spectacular.
55:20Shannon Sharpe:Think about how much money he does and then how many threes he get up. Congratulations, ma 'am. I didn't think, I mean, look, and like I said, because he's so unlikely. If Dame Lillard did that, you wouldn't think anything else. Okay, okay, I got Jordan. Now it's time.
55:37Shakur Stevenson:We're lost. It feels like we're going round in circles. I'm going to ask that man for directions. Hi there. We're trying to get to the state fairgrounds. 59:08Shannon Sharpe:Welcome. He's an undefeated professional boxer with a record of 25-0. He's an Olympic silver medalist in the 2016 Olympics. A four-division world champ, 126, 130, 135, 140. He's trained by his grandfather, Wally Moses. Recently, he defeated Teofimo Lopez for the welterweight title. Shakur Stevenson. Shakur, how you doing, bro? What up, bro? What up, bro? I'm good. I'm good, bro. Thanks for joining us tonight. You dominated Teofimo. Did you think the fight was going to be that easy? Because he is a champ.
59:43Chad Johnson:Nah, I didn't think it was going to be that easy. I thought it could have been that easy, but I also knew Teofimo was tough and he was going to bring his best. Honestly, I think just God showed up and did what he always do. Nah, nah, nah, hell nah. He's trying to play humble. He's trying to play humble. because he said it in the presser. He said in the presser, I see weaknesses in your game and I'm going to expose them. And you're going to see fight night and come fight night, all the things that Teal was able to get away with were other opponents that weren't as skilled. All the trickery, all the fakes and all the feints, none of that work.
1:00:23Chad Johnson:And so Shakur did his homework and that's why the fight looked the way it did. Now, 100%, 100%. Like I said, I just did what I was supposed to do. But I did think it could happen that way. You're right. I did think it could happen that way.
1:00:40Shannon Sharpe:You thought you could pitch because I had you at the shutout. It was a shutout. It was a shutout. Yeah, I don't know how they gave him a round. Maybe they was feeling sorry for him. Like, damn, we can't have our champ lose all 12 rounds. We got to give him something. But it looked like you pitched a shutout because everything that he tried to do, you had a counter. It was like you knew the answers to the test. because you had already read the test.
1:01:05Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah. I watched him fight probably like every day in training camp, and I seen like so many different like weaknesses in his game to where I'm like, okay, if he do this against me, I'm going to destroy him. Or if he do this against me, I'm going to bust a couple of lives here. So when I seen him bust the same moves that I seen on camera, it just made it so much easier. It made it so much easier. But it was an easy night of boxing. I appreciate Tiafemo even for stepping in the ring with me because a lot of fighters don't. So a shout-out to him anyway.
1:01:39Shannon Sharpe:Let me ask you this. There's been a lot of discussion around your fight style. I don't think anybody questions your level of greatness because, like you said, you are an amateur. You go to the Olympics. You win a gold medal. You win a silver medal. But some, me, you got upset at me. I said, look. And Ocho and I, we was having a discussion after the Tiafemo fight. I said, Ocho, he's great. I said, the way he can get in there, and he makes great fighters look average. I said, but his style is not, I mean, his style. I said, bro, I can't pay money. I want to see a little bit more action. And you got upset with me.
1:02:14Shannon Sharpe:What do you say about people that say your style is boring? They're not saying that you're not great. They say your style of fighting.
1:02:22Chad Johnson:I mean, that's your opinion, Unc. I can't really take away from your opinion. I hear you say it, so when you say it, I'll probably troll back at you and talk a little shit. At the end of the day, that's your opinion. You can have your opinion. But truthfully, my style is not boring. My style is just the fact that I make shit easy. Like, guys can't do nothing with me. It's like, you can name all the best fighters in my weight class, but if you put them in the ring with me, they all might look like Tia Fimo. Like, Tia Fimo was just wanting to step in the ring. So, anybody that -
1:02:55Shannon Sharpe:Tank's going to look like that. Tank's going to look like that. Keyshawn Davis going to look like that.
1:02:58Chad Johnson:I ain't gonna disrespect my brother I love my brother we be smart all the time we good work but like I said anybody that pay attention to the sport of boxing and love the sport of boxing they gonna love my I told you you heard what he said anybody that pays attention to the sport of boxing they would love his style that's what our argument was about it's you the casual fan that always looking for the Tank Davis knockout the Mike Tyson knockout but us purists that enjoy and watching round by round, how Shakur is always two steps ahead of whoever he's fighting, which is why it looks the way it looks and it looks so easy.
1:03:36Chad Johnson:I mean, you actually have to understand the sweet science in itself and understand what you're watching to appreciate what he's been able to do.
1:03:48Shannon Sharpe:There have been discussions with the WBC. They took your title because I think they wanted you to pay. So let me get this straight. There's a sanctioning fee. If you have a belt, you have to pay X amount of dollars, correct?
1:04:00Chad Johnson:Yeah. If you got a belt, you got to pay X amount of dollars for having a belt. Yeah, for sure.
1:04:08Shannon Sharpe:so so so what does that what does that money go towards so i got i got it so if i got like five or six belts i gotta pay five six seven hundred thousand dollars to keep the belts yeah i don't know what they do with the money that's on the wbc but um from my point of view they could tell
1:04:25Chad Johnson:you whatever they want because you don't know what they do with the money we don't see what they do So I'll be hearing that they be paying for hotels and all kinds of different stuff with their money. So, well, with my money, basically. So I don't know. What's next? What we got lined up? I mean, we have anything, any fights coming up? Anybody you might want to fight? Talk to me. No, we ain't got nothing lined up yet. We looking over the scenery. We trying to see what opponents is doing what. We just watching. We watching and paying attention. My next opponent, I'm going to try to make sure it's an opponent that my fans and the fans that dislike me want to fight.
1:05:13Chad Johnson:I want to say, when you talk about your next opponent, do you want someone that is a superior challenge like Atiyah Fomal Lopez? Or do you want to have a tune-up fight before another big mega fight? Nah, I want to fight whoever. I'll fight whoever. I'm down to fight the best fighters. Y 'all name them. You know, the fans could come up with a...
1:05:34Shannon Sharpe:What's that little pole? Y 'all put a wish list together who y 'all want to see Shakur fight.
1:05:40Chad Johnson:Yeah, we could go by the pole and whoever they say is the best, I'll fight them.
1:05:46Shannon Sharpe:Are you going to... Look, you took down Teofimo at 147. Are you interested in going back down? or you're going to go to 30, but you're going to go to 35, you go to 30, go back down to 120. So what are you looking to do?
1:05:58Chad Johnson:35 and 40 is my weight class. I run that shit. Both weight classes is mine. And until somebody dethrone me, it will be my weight class. So come see me.
1:06:11Shannon Sharpe:Now, you do realize that Tank and Keyshawn is them one party boys. I'm just saying, Shakur, that you know that. Me and Keyshawn are not going to fight each other, so it ain't even no point of mentioning Keyshawn. Okay, okay. So now that leaves you and Tank. Who else at the 140 that you would be a 135 that you would be interested in banging with?
1:06:33Chad Johnson:Roach, Lamar. Anybody. I would love to fight Lamar Roach. Me and Lamar Roach is amazing. Oh, that would be a good one. That would be a good one to have paid. That would be a nice chess match right there, boy.
1:06:41Shannon Sharpe:Because all, hey. The best versus the best. Let me ask you a question, Shakur. All real talk. You think Roach beat Tank? Yeah, I do. I did too. Ocho and I said the same thing. I said, I like Tank, but Rose with his ass that night.
1:06:55Chad Johnson:Once he took that knee, once he took that knee, after that, it's impossible for the judge. He was beating him before the knee.
1:07:02Shannon Sharpe:But once you take the knee, the scorecard should look different
1:07:09Chad Johnson:in favor of goddamn Lamont at that point. It's a 10-8 round.
1:07:12Shannon Sharpe:I thought without the knee, he won that fight. That's what I said to Ocho. I said, because with the knee, that's a 10-8 round. It's a no-brainer now. What are we even discussing? Yeah, for sure. So now you're not going to fight Keyshawn. So Lamont Roach and Tank Day, you did mention, and doing some research, you know, I got to go do research. I got to go do research. You said a rehydration clause, a rehydration clause. Now, my research shows Canelo has done it three times against Daniel Jacobs, Sergi Kovalev, and Rocky Felden. Tank did it against Mario Barrios. and he did it against Ryan Garcia.
1:07:52Shannon Sharpe:Chris Eubanks Jr. did it against Conor Benn, and Triple G did it against Daniel Jacobs. The rehydration clause. That means you're going to probably fight, if you fight Ryan Garcia, you're going to fight him at 147. Ryan is a naturally big guy. You're a naturally small guy. I mean, you won the silver medal at 126, so you had to put on 14 pounds just to make the 140 and had to put on 21 pounds to go to 47. Ryan was going to strip down. Ryan probably walks around what you think he walks around at 165 170 170 so now he's gonna come down to 147 now when he refuel rehydrate he can easily he can easily rebang back to 160 165 easy 172 so you want to say okay so if you put the rehydration clause you're gonna say okay you You can't go over 152.
1:08:47Shannon Sharpe:You can't go over 155. Where are the numbers that you feel comfortable? Like he ain't 25 pounds heavier than I am, but you feel you can get the best while not stripping him of everything.
1:08:59Chad Johnson:No, honestly, I don't even want to do the rehydration clause. I know like social media kind of made that a big thing. I was speaking hypothetical when I said it. He went in the interview and he said that he'll fight me at 140 pounds. So we don't know.
1:09:17Shannon Sharpe:We don't know. We don't know what he can do. You see what I'm saying? You know that man. You said a man walk around at 170. You want to bring the man down 30? He said that he will fight me at 140.
1:09:31Chad Johnson:I'm just going to talk words.
1:09:33Shannon Sharpe:So if he said it like what, what am I supposed to do? So you have a rehydration clause at 140? No, I don't want to rehydrate the clause. Oh, so if he comes down to 140, you don't want the rehydration clause. Only if he comes down to 47, you have to go up to 47 do you want the clause. Or you don't want the clause at all.
1:09:53Chad Johnson:I only want the clause if I go up to 147, but I don't plan on going up. So at the end of the day, I don't need the clause. We can fight at 140. You think that man can make 140, Shakur? Honestly. I mean, I'm just telling you off of his words. I know what he's saying. He can't assume that he can't make 140. He said he can as long as he lock in and take it serious.
1:10:20Shannon Sharpe:Man, you know, Shakur, you know, like, once you start, like, it's like once you go up to those weights and you start fighting, now you start fighting in that weight as you start to get older, it gets harder to strip that weight off. You're young. You could easily go back down to 130 if you wanted to because you're not a naturally big man. You don't walk around at 150. You probably walk around, I'm assuming, probably 140, 142 maybe. More like you're probably in the 130s. So you like that Floyd. You got that Floyd syndrome. Floyd walked around at 150. Get down to 147 and tear everybody's ass up.
1:10:59Chad Johnson:I can't tell you my walk-around weight, but like I said, if you want to fight at 140 or we can do a catch weight at 144 pounds.
1:11:09Shannon Sharpe:Okay. Hey,
1:11:11Chad Johnson:I like that. A catchweight at 144. But not Ryan Garcia. A catchweight at 144. You think Conor Ben could get down still, even though he's fought at heavier weights? You think? No, I want to fight him at 147 with the re-adjust. For real? No, because he did that to Eubank. Okay, yeah. And the world kind of like gave him credit for the win. But at the end of the day, Eubank was kind of drank in the ring. So let him deal with it with me. Oh, so you're getting there and rocked with what kind of band, huh? At 47 with a rehydration. Yeah, okay. I like that. Hey, I want to see that. I want to see that.
1:11:54Shannon Sharpe:I want to see. So when you say rehydration, how many pounds are you willing to give to let them go? Because it's been as low as three and a half, and then some people say 10. So how far are you willing to go? How much wiggle room will you give someone on a rehydration clause? You only get 10 pounds. That's the max. That's the max. But I've seen, I think the first, I think I've seen three and a half. At one point, it was like three and a half. But the max is 10. Yeah, 10. Yep. 10 is good. Hey, um. So you fight him at 147. He can't get back up to about 157. You're going to probably, it's going to be hard as hell for you to make 147.
1:12:32Shannon Sharpe:Me? Yeah. I can make 147 right now. That's what I know. But I'm saying that's probably your – like I'm saying, you'll walk around in the mid-40s. You're not going to tell us, but looking at your frame, looking at your clavicles, you're not a naturally big man, Shakur. So it's going to be easy for you to always make those lower weights. That 140, 147, that's nothing for you. You ain't got to do nothing. You go to camp for two weeks and make 47. That's true.
1:13:00Chad Johnson:You're right. Hey, that's true. I know. Hey, you know who can make 147? Me?
1:13:09Shannon Sharpe:Man, your big ass can't make no 147, bro. You're worth 80.
1:13:14Chad Johnson:Man, I'll peace you up, man. Don't play at me, man. Don't do that, man. Don't do that. Hey, hey, hey. Man, set the sparring up, man. I've been waiting. I've been asking you for two years to spar. You scared of me. You scared. Like, record. If the time I see you, we rocking out, man. Nah, and don't let him get no headgear.
1:13:33Shannon Sharpe:Don't let him put no headgear on.
1:13:35Chad Johnson:I don't need no headgear. I'm polished. I'm polished in the ring. We both don't need a headgear.
1:13:41Shannon Sharpe:You saw what Keyshawn did to Blueface, right, Shakur? Yeah. That's how I... I want Coach O come back looking like Tommy Hearns when he fought Martin.
1:13:53Chad Johnson:I have a boxing background. The past nine years. I'm good. I'm ready.
1:13:58Shannon Sharpe:You don't think Blueface boxed?
1:14:00Chad Johnson:yeah he boxed and blue face like blue face say he like 215. hey shagurt you you you see this this what what come on man i'm just saying though like nah he boxed he a boxer all right yeah all right when you get in there with them boxes it's a different story man i'm telling you the real
1:14:21Shannon Sharpe:like elite level fighters yes is there any truth because they say like you're about to sign a three fight deal with Zuffer for like$60 million. Is there any truth to that? Not that I know of, but if they're going to give me $60 million, call my phone. I'm ready.
1:14:40Shannon Sharpe:So, man, you see, that's why I can't believe nothing on the internet. Because they had you up there talking about you about to sign with Zuffer a three-fight deal for$60 million. Send that to my...
1:14:49Chad Johnson:Man, listen here, man.
1:14:51Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you like, you don't even need no agent. I'll have that by myself.
1:14:54Chad Johnson:Tell me about me already, man.
1:14:58Shannon Sharpe:look the last three or four days internet's been blowing up we had Clarissa Clarissa said that she could beat Rowley and I know that's your girl y 'all was at the y 'all was at the Olympics together but Shakur keep it above us see you already laughing
1:15:20Chad Johnson:you already laughing listen up listen up right honestly you know I think it's hard for her to be able to be a male fighter but I would love to see it because she campaigning it and like if she believe it I believe it so I believe in her at the end of the day so I would love to see it you do realize
1:15:45Shannon Sharpe:man produce testosterone they have longer bones they have harder punching power what if he don't hit Clarissa what if he don't hit her do what you gonna go to hell you know for lying you go to hell that's what the bible teaches us I know you a man of the club the bible teaches us
1:16:10Chad Johnson:tell her to come to training camp with me she is not gonna get touched
1:16:16Shannon Sharpe:he gonna cut the ring off even at that weight let's just say she fights she fought this last fight at 175. I think she said she can get down to 165. Let's just say for the sake of argument, she gets down to 165. He's at 140. His body still produces more testosterone than hers. His bones are still longer than hers. It's like Serena. Serena, all her partners, her hitting partners, were men. Yeah. She couldn't beat a 250th
1:16:47Chad Johnson:ranked man. You know what's crazy? I agree with you, though. I agree with what you're saying. All I'm saying is Clarissa Shields is different. So with her being as good as she is and her skill set, I just wouldn't count her out with anything that she do.
1:17:05Shannon Sharpe:But Shakur, you do realize to throw punches, you got to open yourself up. And a man reflexes are quicker than a woman. Now, she done got knocked down by a woman. He touches her.
1:17:20Chad Johnson:I can't argue anything that you're saying because you're saying facts. Like, what you're saying is true. I'm telling you that Clarissa Shields is not a normal woman. She's not the same woman as every other woman. So.
1:17:35Shannon Sharpe:I would feel comfortable if she had 18 fights, she had 15, 16 knockouts. I said, well, maybe she can hit. Because I think the thing was, when we looked at Bud, because a lot of the people say, well, man, what if Bud going up in weight? Bud's a naturally big. Bud is a naturally big man. Bud walk around in a big-ass weight. People think Bud's small. I said, I was in there wrestling with him. I said, I was tired as hell trying to throw his foot. I said, but when Bud touched Canelo, Canelo like, damn. He got his attention. He got his respect immediately. If Carissa can't get his respect, and like I said, in 18 fights, if she has 16 knockouts, I would say, you know what?
1:18:13Shannon Sharpe:She might can get his respect. I don't know how she keep him off of her.
1:18:18Chad Johnson:What if she defend herself well, hit him, and she don't get touched with nothing big or nothing that's super strong or hard?
1:18:29Shannon Sharpe:It's hard because Roley throws hard. You know he throws hard. He has an awkward stance. And the thing is, touching a man and touching a woman, you already know the chin different. And you know that, Shakur, the chin different on a man and a woman. Let me be her coach for the fight. Just let me be her coach, and we're going to win. You could get Buddy McGirt. You could get Floyd Mayweather Sr. You could get Freddie Roach. You could, God rest his soul, Emmanuel Stewart. She ain't beating nobody. A champion man? You said everybody, but you did not say Shakur Stevenson. Shakur Stevenson? I would put Shakur in the corner, Florida in the corner.
1:19:10Shannon Sharpe:This is me. All I need to do is be in that corner. That's all I need to do. Well, you're going to have to jump in the ring. I might jump in the ring and soften him up first for sure man hold on Devin Hayden say he wants some what's up with you and Devin? Y 'all can bang at 140? where he say that at? see I'm just saying I saw y 'all in the ring sparring I saw y 'all in the ring sparring
1:19:40Chad Johnson:I would call Bill that was a long time ago
1:19:43Shannon Sharpe:where he say that at? Devin say he want anybody at the 140, he won't that. Nah, he fight at 147. He fight at 147. He come down for you. If he come down, then let's make it happen. Well, why you, you say you can fight at 147, you don't want to go up and see it?
1:20:02Chad Johnson:I just told you if I fight at 147, we'll come with it.
1:20:06Shannon Sharpe:Oh, so any fight at 147, there's a rehydration clause. We need fight at 147. Okay. Okay. So y 'all hear that. Don't call this man's phone to fight at 147. But We can fight at a catch weight
1:20:20Chad Johnson:44 with no rehydration any 47 pound pound fight me at 144. I'm down. Let's do it with no rehydration No rehydration. I'm ready
1:20:31Shannon Sharpe:But ain't but ain't no bells at 44 so you just want to fight you want so you do
1:20:35Chad Johnson:We need the belt for we the names we the big names why we need the belt
1:20:40Shannon Sharpe:Touche.
1:20:41Chad Johnson:Yeah, if we fought at 144 would you show up and watch? Yeah, you fight alone
1:20:46Shannon Sharpe:You fighting Devin Haney? Yeah, at 100? Yeah. Without the belts on the line, right? Yes. Okay, then. So we good. Yeah. If you're going to fight the best of the best, I'm going to come see. Because I want to see it in my own eyes. I want to see it in my own eyes. I'm going to see if you're going to do, you know, you say, hey, you say my fight boring? Let me show you why it's boring. You see what I did? Every strength that he had, I turned it into a weakness. I ain't going to lie. If you watched my last fight and you still thought it was boring, you're going to think... I saw it. Ocho, here's the thing.
1:21:22Shannon Sharpe:Here's the thing, Shakur. Tim Duncan. Was Tim Duncan not great? No, he was great. Would you say he was exciting?
1:21:34Chad Johnson:No, not really, no. That's not...
1:21:37Shannon Sharpe:See, two things can be true. You can be great, and I want to see some action. I want to see some... Hey, I understand. You said, look, my job is to hit, not get hit. And I think sometimes you're overly cautious with that. But I want to see a little bit more action, Shakur. That's all. If I'm paying$5 ,000,$10 ,000 for a ticket, Shakur, I want to see something. I want to see some lights turned out. I'm a boxing fan, Nick. Huh? I don't think you're a big boxing fan, Nick. For me to come out of my house? Hold on. For me to come out of my house and to dig in my pockets and pay$10 ,000? No, no, no.
1:22:12Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to see some action. I'm going to see some action. Are you a big boxing fan? Yes, yes. Impossible. Yes. I've seen Floyd fight several times. I've seen Mike Tyson fight. Yeah, but to come out of my pocket. See, if I would watch on TV, of course I would watch it on television. When you watch Floyd fight, you thought he was born? I saw him fight. I think I saw him fight Corrales, and I saw him fight De La Hoya. And did you think he was boring? I saw Floyd after he had broke his hands. When Floyd was fighting at 30, 35, and 40, when he fought Gotti, when he fought Ricky Hatton, hell no, he wasn't boring.
1:22:58Shannon Sharpe:When he fought Gotti, when he fought Ricky Hatton, when he fought Cotto, when he fought Torellis, hell no.
1:23:03Chad Johnson:Hold on, after that, after that.
1:23:07Shannon Sharpe:Did you think he was boring? After Floyd's hands became brittle, he became a fighter that, you know what? I can't tell you. I'm not going to lose no fight because I'm fighting one-handed because I broke my hand.
1:23:19Chad Johnson:I got a question for you. Yes. Did you see him fight Carlos Baldemar? That was before. No. Wasn't that around the times his hands?
1:23:31Shannon Sharpe:That might have been. That was one of the fights, yeah. Because I remember he hit somebody and he took a knee. People called him boring.
1:23:38Chad Johnson:It was never boring to me when I watched him fight. Even when I watched him fight Pacquiao, I never thought Floyd Mayweather was a boring fighter. Now, when I watched Rick Adele, I'm like, okay, this is kind of like no disrespect to Rick Adele. He's a hell of a fighter, one of my favorites. But some of the time I'm like, okay, this is boring. But I just don't understand how you can watch guys completely dominate, shut guys out, and give you some type of entertainment at times in the fight. And I feel like when I fought Tia Fimo, I came forward. I was the aggressor. I was on the front foot. So I just don't see how anybody could think that that fight was a boring fight.
1:24:18Shannon Sharpe:But here's the thing. When Floyd was at 35 and 40, Floyd was stopping people. Can we agree on that? Some guys. Some guys got stopped.
1:24:28Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:24:29Shannon Sharpe:That's all. We're going to see some action.
1:24:31Chad Johnson:But me and Floyd Mayweather is two different people. So at the end of the day, if you compare us, you're just comparing a guy that already finished his career with a guy that's still in the prime of his career with more better fights to come. So it's hard to really compare.
1:24:49Shannon Sharpe:I think the thing is, is that your fighting style is a lot different, is a lot similar because you guys are doing a lot of counters. And we win. And we win. Oh, you know, they're winning. I mean, undefeated. Yeah. So, yeah. I think the thing that's that's my thing at 35 and 40 floor was stopping people I look at another guy like Shane Mosley 35 40 he was stopping people he had dynamite um uh when he fought when he fought uh Antonio Margarita but I thought he thought Margarita at 47 I don't know what he was I think he maybe fought De La Hoya what 54 or 40 I think he fought De La Hoya at 54.
1:25:24Chad Johnson:Yeah but you gotta also realize that was my fourth weight class and anybody that's in the sport that goes through four weight classes, I feel like it's harder to knock guys out as you move up. Besides the many Pacquiao, who probably, we don't know that, probably wasn't as normal as everybody else.
1:25:47Shannon Sharpe:I ain't never seen anybody go from one... Pacquiao probably went from 112 and floorboard people at 22, 26, 30, 35, 40, 47, 54. I'm like, well, damn, this little man just...
1:26:01Chad Johnson:Yeah, but you got to understand when people move up in wing class, it's definitely harder to stop. Because you're already fighting bigger guys that's already sustained that weight. We got it ready. We got it set. We done put it out there in the universe. No, Lamar... No, I'll whoop his ass. But anyway, we got Lamar Roach, right? We got Lamar Roach. And then we got Conor Bennett at a catch weight. So, you know, the tongue is powerful. or so we're going to speak it into existence at 144. Nah, me and Lamar can fight at 140. Oh, 135. I like that. I like that. So bring me into camp. Bring me into camp.
1:26:44Chad Johnson:I told you. Come on, man. Anytime.
1:26:47Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to spar you up. Shakur, tear his ass up. I mean, lump him up. If you don't come back with no horn on his head, you ain't do nothing. We got the same exact fighting style. Oh, Shakur said he going to stop you.
1:27:01Chad Johnson:I'm coming.
1:27:02Shannon Sharpe:I'm coming. I'm going to have my phone right now.
1:27:06Chad Johnson:My defense is just like his. It may be better. I'm not even tripping. I'm not even tripping. Bro, I done studied you, man, all these years, man. Everything he tried to do, I got to answer for. The best in America, man, that was crazy. Your defense may be just like mine. Exactly. Listen, most of the time, before you take a test, you study it. don't you? Yeah, but I've been studying for 20-some years. I've been studying for 58. What you saying? Yeah, but you ain't been studying boxing for that long.
1:27:43Shannon Sharpe:He said because he's a much bigger man, Shakur, he gonna walk through your punches.
1:27:48Chad Johnson:Oh, man. That shit don't mean nothing, though.
1:27:53Shannon Sharpe:You don't want no rehydration clothes, Ocho? Nah, I'm gonna come down to 140.
1:28:00Chad Johnson:I'm going to stop him to the body. Ooh. You going to give him a body shot and stop him? Stop him to the body for sure. What happened to my camera?
1:28:11Shannon Sharpe:I don't know that. Hey, that man said, Shakur, man, hey, man, thank you for coming on, Shakur. We really appreciate that. 1:28:56Chad Johnson:I appreciate y 'all.
1:28:57Shannon Sharpe:Appreciate you, bro.
1:29:02Shannon Sharpe:He say he's going to stop you to the body, Ocho. He say he's going to stop you to the body.
1:29:07Chad Johnson:No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
1:29:11Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, hey, man, hey, that joke hit you with one of them liver, them kidney shots, Ocho. You be peeing blood for two days. You be all right. I'm going to be tucked in, huh?
