In short
Nightcap Hour 1 discusses NBA playoffs—specifically the Rockets vs Lakers series—after Houston won Game 4 and what it means for Game 5 in Los Angeles. They also debate LeBron’s performance, Rockets’ defense, and Kevin Durant’s injury status.
Guests
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson (former Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowler and All-Pro) and Joe Johnson (“Smooth Iso Joe,” seven-time NBA All-Star, Atlanta Hawks). The host is “Uncle Ojo” (the “favorite uncle” persona).
Key claims
The Lakers lost 115-96 and led the series 3-1, but their lack of effort and 23 turnovers (with LeBron at 10 points, 8 turnovers, 9 assists) let Houston stay alive. Rockets’ defense caused havoc: 17 steals, physical pick-and-roll coverage, and aggressive rebounding. They argue the Lakers may have “chilled” to avoid a sweep. Durant is expected to be game-to-game and could play Wednesday.
Notable examples
LeBron’s late-game turnovers, Marcus Smart’s repeated risky out-of-bounds attempts, and the Rockets’ physical “ugly game” approach (forcing players off spots, more contact, more fights).

The Rockets win game four. Now we will have a fifth game in L.A. on Wednesday night. I think that will definitely do LeBron James some good because that is now.
8:23Shannon Sharpe:he has 48 hours and he didn't play very much in the fourth quarter. But the Lakers lose 115-96. The Lakers lead the series 3-1. Game 5 is Wednesday in LA. Joe, I thought LeBron set the tempo early about how they was on some bull jive. He was on some bull jive early and his teammates followed suit. The only guy that came to play tonight was DA. Yeah. This is what we've been looking for. 9 of 12, 1 of 1 from the free throw line, 10 rebounds. He only had two turnovers. This is the DA we were looking for. Yeah, everybody. Go ahead, Joe. Everybody else seemed a bit lethargic today, Uncle Ojo. You know, I don't want to say satisfied because I think they understood, you know, what was at stake, you know, meaning if they could close these guys out.
9:07Shannon Sharpe:But it's hard to close a team out, fellas, when they back against the wall. You know, they like wild dogs out there. You hear me? Hey. Yes. You give them a little life, hey, they going to play better. It's probably the best game they played all series. It is. But you said something very interesting, Joe. When you give them life, you got to jump on them and not give them a reason to play. They gave them a reason to play. Yeah. All of a sudden, you started turning the ball over. I don't know why. Marcus, Marcus, how many times are you going to try to jump to throw the ball out of bounds and they're going to bring it back?
9:42Shannon Sharpe:Now, you've done that. That's about the third or the fourth time you've done that. At some point in time, you've got to come to the realization, bro. You know what? The risk is not worth. the reward is not worth the risk. Right, right. LeBron had as many turnovers as damn near points. He had nine assists, eight turnovers, and ten points, and he got that late in the ballgame. He probably shouldn't even play any in the fourth quarter because they weren't coming back. Right. I could see if you had shown some signs of life at any point in time in the game, Joe, Ocho, and so you let them play, okay, I'm going to give you guys five minutes to try to cut this thing down to ten, and then we'll go from there.
10:15Shannon Sharpe:Right. But what had you seen? They couldn't make a three. They couldn't make any shots. They just constantly turn the ball over. They shot good from the floor when they weren't turning it over. When you have 20 turnovers and with five minutes still to go in the third quarter, you're not winning that game, period. It's going to be tough. It's going to be tough. You put so much pressure on yourself, man. I thought the Lakers would have, you know, came out on the ultra and really tried to put these boys away. But obviously, like I said, man, you give a young team like this who hadn't made shots this whole series on the ultra.
10:47Shannon Sharpe:Now they started to make a few shots. what's going to happen get excited get confident yeah you go but but also also uncle and joe you know we can't discredit goddamn the rockets now especially defensively we talk about all the turnovers that the lakers had some on their own but hell crashing crashing the goddamn boards the defense that the rockets played made the lakers turn the ball over most of the time there were there a few there were a few occasions lebron turned over there a few occasions marcus Smart turned it over. But the defense that they was playing, hell, they got them. I forgot young boy name.
11:19They got picking LeBron up. 95 feet. Hey, but 94 feet, man. Let me get that. Let me get them cookies.
11:26Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I mean. Let me have that. Yeah. I feel you on that, Ocho. You definitely got to get a Rockets credit, bro. They came and they competed. I mean, at some point, they was going to have a pretty decent game. And tonight was their night. Yeah. Matter of fact, I think the Lakers was chilling. You hear me, Joe? Why they were chilling? Hey, corporations, sponsors, they had bills to pay. So we don't want to sweep this thing. We don't want to sweep this thing. Let's get these boys a game and extend it a little bit so we can keep making this money. I understand that. Listen, I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
12:02Conspiracy theorist. I'm just, come on now. Money has to be made.
12:07Shannon Sharpe:Hey, listen. I agree with you on about LeBron and them turnovers, them eight turnovers. You know, the disheartening thing is because you know he know better. Yes. You know what I'm saying? Yes. I'm sure if he sees the stat sheet, he going to tell himself, he going to go, man, ain't no way in hell I could be out here getting no eight turnovers. I got to be better. Because we put the ball in your hands, that just can't happen for them to win. No. Joe, he tried a damn three-quarter court bounce pass between two defenders and tried to hit Rui on a dead sprint. Hold on. Hey, you know he think he got a little magic in him now.
12:44Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. You know he think he got a little magic in him. But at that point in the game, what's the reward? Oh, yeah, you're like, oh, you see that pass? But you turn it over. Yeah, but on the fact. And look, you shoot 50%. You shot 81 % from the free throw line, which isn't bad. You out-rebounded the team. But you turned the ball over 23 times. The Rockets had 17 steals. Yeah. 17 steals. defense. That's crazy! They were competing. They were competing today. And this is not to take anything, but the Lakers weren't competing. Nah. You can't tell me. We've seen the Lakers over the last week since Saturday of last week.
13:30Shannon Sharpe:So it was eight days. You tell me at what point in the game did you see them and you're like, oh man. They didn't compete like they did game one, game two. They damn sure didn't compete like they did game three, because game three, they was down six with under 30, and they came back and won. That is competing. That performance that they put on today, I don't know what that was. But all you did was give this team confidence. Not this team believe they can beat your ass. I mean, listen. Hey, you go ahead. Hey, Joe, they gonna catch hell closing. If they try to close, they gonna catch hell on Wednesday night.
14:02You think so? Oh, yeah. Hell yeah. KD playing Wednesday, huh? He probably is.
14:08Shannon Sharpe:He should be, yeah, yeah. LeBron was probably tired, Uncle Joe. You think he was tired? Of course, because he came out trying to facilitate. He was trying to get everybody else going first, and then he's like, okay, when y 'all need me a little late. But then it's too late. You're already down 15, you're down 17. It's too late now. You're out of rhythm. LeBron is a rhythm guy. If you notice LeBron games, when he's going good, he'll be able to keep it going. But he's not one of those guys that doesn't get it good going early and then be able to pick it up. That's not what he is. Nah. And that's why he got off to that slow start when he came back early in the year.
14:45Shannon Sharpe:You know, obviously the Lakers have been playing great. You got Luka and A.R. leading the way, and he didn't want to get in the way of that. And that's what I was telling you. I was like, man, he come out with this facilitating mode early. It's hard for him to kind of get in rhythm and get going when he needs to. That's why the first, what, the first 20-something games, he was averaging like 18, 20 points. when it could have been a lot better. But I think the Rockets really feel like they can come back and win this series, fellas. Yeah, I'm sure about that. I'm telling you what I think they think.
15:18Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah, think. Oh, obviously because they – I'm saying if they feel like KD going to be ready by Wednesday, man, that's a few days. KD going to be ready. I think they really feel like if they can go to L.A. and get one just to bring it back to Houston. Yeah. hey hey uncle you said something interesting too man you said something interesting you think about lebron when he came out of high school and where his game was how his game has evolved to this point and you just said something that i would think because he's so good at what he's what he's done being able to evolve being able to adapt you know to to change and the way the game has changed and as he's gotten older his game has had to change along the way as well and you said he's a rhythm guy that he can't he can't facilitate and just pick up and just pick it up right away that he has to have himself in the rhythm just to get going you would think someone like him doesn't need that nah it's hard it's hard ocho he needs to see a couple of shots go down early yeah um and then you know he he got i mean i think he had a couple of assists before he even took any shots yeah and then he got a couple of shots and then he went back to facilitating he smoked another layup kind of got him out of rhythm.
16:28Shannon Sharpe:He smoked two layups, got him out of rhythm. You moved too fast. You moved too fast. As a guy, if you're kind of like out of rhythm, you just need to see the ball go in. Yeah, yeah. And once he sees the ball go in, I was like, okay. Because I was like, okay, he's making his free throws tonight. I was like, okay, that's a good sign there. You're not clanking the free throws. And then for whatever reason, he just couldn't get anything to fall. His turnaround wasn't going. Then he get it back again and he hit the side of the backboard. The three ball didn't fall for him. they were just out of source tonight and there's some he should have been tired 41 having to play 44, 45 minutes that's more than any 41 nobody's playing that kind of those kind of minutes and what was expected of him because late in the ball game you're going to have the ball in his hands so it's a lot on his plate but give the Rockets credit the Rockets like we're not getting swept we're not going down without a fight this is what I may have been trying to compete Yeah, that's it.
17:26Shannon Sharpe:Whatever happens, happens. Just compete. And let the chips fall where they may. Yeah. You see guys getting on the floor. You see guys getting in the passing lane. You see a lot of deflections. That means they were competing tonight. Yeah. And you don't see the Rockets out there with too much indecision on what it is they're trying to do. They're very decisive on the shot taking. You know what I mean? Being aggressive. Attacking the guys on the offensive end. and defensively they're just more physical on the pick and rolls, on the switches. You know, they're just trying to cause havoc, man. And to kind of go back to LeBron, it's like when he started the game, you can kind of tell what kind of night it's going to be for him because if he's not assertive right away in them first five or six minutes, Uncle Ocho, you can tell, like, he's just coming off pick and rolls just to pass.
18:15Shannon Sharpe:He ain't coming off to look to be aggressive or none of that. He's just coming off to make a play, make a pass. and it's kind of, maybe it was fatigue that's kind of got him. I think these couple days of rest, you know, a guy like that, obviously arguably the greatest ever played a game. You know, the next game five, he don't want to go back to Houston. He knows the importance of it. Yeah, he knows. He's been in this situation. Remember what he said? Let's go get one. They got one and say, hey, let's bring it back home. Game five, hey, let's go to their place. We're going to win game five at our place.
18:51Shannon Sharpe:We're going to go back to their place. I mean, they won game five in debate in Golden State. They brought game six back. Now, the pressure, all that pressure is on Golden State. They don't want to come back. No, sir. No, sir. And remember, no team has ever come back from 0-3. Now, eventually, it's going to happen. We've only seen it in, I think, one sport. I think baseball. The Yankees was up 3-0 on the Red Sox. The Red Sox came all the way back. Because as you lose games, more and more pressure starts to mount. Yeah. Hey. Damn, okay, they ended up getting one. Now they come back, they get another one in your place.
19:32Shannon Sharpe:Now you got pressure on you. They go back and get another one at their place. Oh, damn. Now we got a game seven. We were just up three over, guys. Damn. Now it's one game and win or take all. They ain't got nothing to lose.
19:49Shannon Sharpe:but yeah I agree with you Joe you could tell early on he was looking he was coming off he wasn't looking to get downhill and maybe 45 minutes took something out of his legs maybe it took something out of his legs but I think you'll see more of an effort next game to get his ass downhill he coming off that pick looking to get downhill and yeah he might pass it but it's going to be a lob to D.A. or Jackson Hayes because he's going to look to put pressure on the defense He's got to. He's got to. Hey, Unk and Joe, they got 48 hours of rest, right? Yes. Yeah, they're going to be fine. They're going to close it out.
20:26Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, think about it. They're probably going to have AR, probably going to come back. I can see a scenario where AR is playing. Yeah, I think AR is going to come back. Hey, Joe, I don't think that's smart, though. He ain't got but a little rib, little rib, little rib. I'm just saying. I mean, I'd rather, you know, reserve yourself. Just stay all the way healthy. to get all the way back healthy, just wait for the next series. Because, I mean, look, listen. Nah, you can't chance that, Ocho. Hey, Unk, the series 3-1. Now you know the Rockets don't have enough firepower to come back from 3-1. You make it seem like the Lakers got a full roster.
21:00Shannon Sharpe:You do realize that most of these guys started as backups, right? Yeah. Yeah, I understand. Hey, word on the street is, Steven Adams over there looking good, too. So, hey, hey, they get a couple guys back, a couple of veteran guys back, Ocho. Yeah. Anything can shake, bro. Game five is a pivotal game for the Lakers, and I'm just keep it real. If I'm the Lakers, I'm throwing the whole kitchen sink, bro. I'm treated like game seven. Hell yeah. I ain't trying to go back to Houston, bro. All bets off. Hey, man, who was the ref tonight, man? Who was the ref acting like he another player? The one that looked like Gucci Mane?
21:41Yeah. Hey, he inserted himself too much into the game, Just throwing people out. Man, come on. What we doing? What we doing?
21:46Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, Ocho. He trying to take his ass home. They out here trying to fight. It's the end of the game. Game over with. Yeah, all this testosterone out here. You got guys who won't get a chance to play. You know, shout out to my guy Thero and Nick Smith Jr. Two Razorbacks for the Lakers. They got a chance. Hey, man. Hey, there's a lot of testosterone sitting over on that bench, bro. Hey. And I try to show coach, I'll compete. You say the ref trying to go home, Joe? Yeah, you ain't trying to go home, so he ain't, hey, he ain't finna deal with all that. Y 'all, every trip down court, somebody in each other face trying to fight.
22:19Shannon Sharpe:Damn, nigga, you gonna take your ass to the back, you take your ass to the back. We go home tonight.

22:27Shannon Sharpe:You right, yo, that's basically what he said, hey, you get out, you get out. Get out. O-U-W-T, out. Yeah, yeah, I don't wanna hear it. There ain't no explaining. Man, we got three minutes left. And the last four trips, it's almost been a little scrap. Man, please, go sit back there. Nah. Hey, dude. Hey, Joe, he looking at it like, what'd I do? Don't worry about it. You'll figure it out in the back. Listen, the only one that was worthy of being thrown out was Aiden. I'm not sure why he threw his elbow up there like that. Because if you look at Shingun, he's always trying to dislodge you off that square.
23:08Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. If you notice, he's coming in. Right. And, hey, his lower body, I mean, you look at it up top, he's like, he ain't got nothing. But he's got lower body. All his strength is in his lower body. If you notice, he comes in, he moving guys off that spot. Yeah. Hey, this is M.A. Doka. This is the type of guy he is. Hey, look, he's been trying to get his players, especially these young guys, to take on his personality. You know, junk it up. You know, make it an ugly game, bro. Stop letting these dudes just get to their spot. You know, push, shove, catch him at the three-point line, make him work to get to this block.
23:44Shannon Sharpe:Hey, man, when you look at all these series in the NBA, the physicality just goes up by each and every game. How many times y 'all, we see somebody on the floor tonight? Hell, how many times Brown hit the deck tonight? Yeah. Yeah. They hard-filing. They're not letting him get that ball to the rim. Yeah. Listen, you think y 'all just finna come in here and swag and surf the whole game? No. We ain't going. We ain't going, boy, you finna put this elbow on. What'd you say, Joe? They ain't finna come in here and what? Swag and surf all game, you know, yeah. Hey, Joe, I may done told him, we ain't finna see this tonight.
24:19Shannon Sharpe:I don't wanna see none of that. I don't wanna see, if he do that one time, I'm snatchin' your ass out the game. I don't wanna see none of this. I don't wanna see none of that. Yeah, yeah, hey, y 'all see at the end of the game, hell, they couldn't even walk to their locker room, them boys walking by and bumping their shoulders and everything. Yeah. Man, we got to get into your head. Yeah, we got to find some way to gain an edge over you Lakers. Even though y 'all up in the series, we just won a game. I got my young boys who gaining super confidence from this. Hey, man, who knows what can happen in game five?
24:54Shannon Sharpe:Let's see. Let's do all the little things we can to piss them off. I don't care what it is. To aggravate them. You know, make them get out their game. You see Aiden went to the back. Let's see if we can get somebody else kicked out. And the thing is, you see, Luke is getting harder and harder for Luke to put them numbers up. Ooh. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, the physicality, huh? Physicality. And what do they do on the other end? They're attacking him. Yeah. They're not letting him rest. Who are they putting the pick and roll every time? Him. Yeah. Is him or Aiden? Because they know Aiden wants to drop. Yeah.
25:29Shannon Sharpe:So they know they're going to be getting any shot they want. If they want to get a three, they want to get a one dribble inside the three, they're going to be able to get that. Because Aiden, he's not wanting to come up. No, no. He's wanting to catch you. Yeah, yeah. And when you look at. Love bread, baked goods, and pasta, but not the way they make you feel? 29:47Shannon Sharpe:When you look at Luke Kennard, he was due for, you know, a game like this. I mean, hell, he had been shooting 53, 54 from the field and from the three, averaging 21 a game in this series. So I kind of, I ain't going to say I expected it, but I didn't expect for him to continue to play at that level. Now, going back home game five, I can see him picking back up, you know, getting things going again, getting things revved up. Because they all logged a lot of minutes in that game four. I mean, game three. Yeah. And they're on the older side. They're not young like those guys at Houston. How old is Thompson?
30:24Shannon Sharpe:21? Shingun probably ain't more than 24, 25. Yeah. Them boys got batteries in they legs. Yeah, Smith. Man, what? Shingun is 23. How old is Thompson? Probably 21. Yeah, about 21. Shingun only 23? 23. Smith cannot be. LeBron played against Smith Jr. LeBron played against his dad. I did, too. His dad played at LSU when I was at Arkansas. Thompson's 23, Shingun's 23, Howell Smith.
31:00Smith.
31:03Shannon Sharpe:22. Damn. So they - LeBron's son damn older than those guys. So he old enough to be their dad, he out there playing against them. Man, them legs don't bounce back like that. I'm damn damn who you are, you ain't finna bounce back like that. Playing those kind of minutes under that kind of intensity? Right. It's tough, bro. It's tough. Because you probably, not probably, but you're playing more minutes than you play in the regular season. Oh, way, way more. They kept him around 33, 34, Joe. Yeah, and it's way more intense. You know what I mean? Like, it's way more intense, way more physical. You know, it's, hey, man, it's rough.
31:42Shannon Sharpe:It's rough. When you get older and you playing all the minutes, we're seeing LeBron defining, you know, father time, which is great to see. I enjoy watching him play. But, you know, at some point, sometime, it'll kind of catch up with him. But I think on Wednesday, for sure, game five, fellas, he'll be looking to put them boys away. Yeah, oh, yeah. 48 hours, he'll be at an opportunity to double up on the treatment, the cold tub, the stem, the massage therapy, the stretching. He's probably going to sleep in his hyper - Headlight therapy. Yeah, he's probably going to sleep in his little hyper-beg chamber and all that.
32:15Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. I think it was Tiger that had his whole – Tiger had his whole bedroom. Hyperbaric. Did he? Yeah. You ever did that? You ever had that Hyperbaric? Yeah, I've been in the Hyperbaric chamber. I used to be in it all the time. Oh, Joe, you? No, sir. Joe, the extent I went was the cold tub, hot tub. I would contrast back and forth about five minutes. Five minutes cold, three minutes hot, five minutes cold. I did about maybe about four times back and forth. That's everything. All that Hyper hyper what how you say it hyperbaric yeah i ain't with that but when to when to was with us uh joe yeah that one year boy he do not play well he had the hyperbaric chamber he had all type of all type of gadgets and caps and capsules i'm like t man what is you doing oh yeah hey he don't play by what you think they're doing what you think these guys doing now hyperbaric chamber red light therapy south baths south bath brady all those quarterbacks doing it right all those guys doing it that's what they're doing i mean think about the kind of money you make it right yeah why would you not do it yeah you're right trying to prolong their career yeah if somebody take okay i'm making here i am how chase 26 i'm making 40 million at 26 who can say i can't be making 45 at 30 30.
33:41Shannon Sharpe:yeah Hell yeah. And you know and you know more now. Right. You know more. A lot of this stuff that's coming out wasn't no red light when we came in. Wasn't no hyperbaric chamber when we came in. And as guys started to understand, man what y 'all do you know, that's why everybody go train where is the Olympic training facility at? It's in Colorado Springs. Altitude over 7 ,000. It forces your body to produce more red blood cells because of oxygen. Yes. So when you go places, you see Sebastian Sawi? Sub two-minute, two-hour marathon. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Ran 26 miles at 4.33 a mile. Man. That's crazy.
34:30Shannon Sharpe:He was tricky. He came in third. He went sub two minutes. I mean, two hours. You know how fast that is? 159.30, 159.31, and another guy went two hours and 25, two hours and 30-something seconds. Yeah. You heard me? Huh? You know how fast four minutes and 33 seconds every mile is? Hell, it's not just one, Ocho. It's mile after mile. Mile after mile, yeah. I'm talking about you booking. Yes! You got to be booking. You got to remain consistent. And once you catch that rhythm, you got to stay there the whole time. Ooh. You got to stay there. Where is he from? Kenya. Where did they come from? The Rift Valley.
35:11Shannon Sharpe:East Africa. The legendary Kip Kano. They train at altitude. That's why everybody go to Big Bear, the boxers. Where they go, Ocho? Big Bear. Mammoth. They go to Flagstown, Arizona. 7 ,000. They go to high altitude training. It forces the body. You see them, they put these masks on because it forces your body. That's just not an accident. Most of the, they ain't nothing but heart and lungs any damn way. The men weigh 115, the women weigh 90. Hell, the shoes weigh as much as they do. The shoes weigh 97 grams. So they 200 grams of shoes, so they left the 300 grams with shoes on. Yeah, yeah. Now they gonna have people go out there to buy those hot$500 shoes.
36:05Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all not finna run that, okay? Yeah, I'm out. Hey, that's years and years and years and years of training. Years of training. Hey, hey, that's not - Hold on, that was the guy, hold on. Yeah, I think it was the guy, one of the guys, this was only his first marathon, and he was like two hours. Damn. So, the marathon, you get Kenyans and you get Ethiopians. Yeah. That's it. Matter of fact - Women and men. That's it. Hey, you probably know better than I do. When it comes to, let's say, for reference, the Boston Marathon. Yeah. How many miles is the Boston Marathon? It's 26 miles. That's a marathon.
36:45Shannon Sharpe:26 miles? Okay. Yes. And that guy just ran a marathon. He just ran 26 miles in less than two hours. Jesus Christ. Mm-mm. Do people understand how far 26 miles is? Hell no. Running? I think they do. Yeah. When you driving, 26 miles is far. Yeah. But then to keep the pace that he kept every mile for two hours is insane. He's probably running. He's probably running about 12, 12.2. Just go to just a just get on your treadmill, turn it up to 12 miles an hour and stay there as long as you can. Boy, that's a whole sprint. What are you telling? Everything is a sprint. Now, it used to be the sprints were a sprint.
37:27Shannon Sharpe:Now, everything is a sprint. The 800 is a sprint. The mile is a sprint. The steeplechase is a sprint. Everything's a sprint. Look at the women. The women broke the world record. She went 215. Damn. They had like six guys at the half marathon was like an hour at the half. Man, what you got to eat before something like that? He said he had two slices of bread, he had honey, and he had tea. Wow. Wow. That's what he said he consumed.
38:03Man.
38:04Shannon Sharpe:That's crazy. Look, I don't know how you guys have done it, but I've had my heart rate up damn near max. 100, I would say 175, 180, 190 beats for two and a half hours. Dude, what you been doing? I'm talking about, I mean, it feels like every time you take a breath, somebody put a bag over your head and shorten it. What you were doing, huh? On the bike, I was in spin class. Oh, yeah. Hey, you were taking spin class? I used to. Okay. Hey, those spin class is fun, though. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Everybody know, if you ever went to Flywheel and you saw the name up on the board, I was the spin doctor. Yeah.
38:47Shannon Sharpe:I was the spin doctor. Everybody know about the spin doctor. You was in California. You was in Charlotte. You was in Miami. You was in New York. You was in Boston. Right. Man, who was the spit doctor? Were he famous? Yeah, I was famous. They didn't know it was me. Oh, you're talking about yourself. Yeah. I was the spit doctor. Yeah. Because the way they would do it is that they would put the top ten, whoever had the top ten as far as wattage. So wattage, RPMs, distance. They made me mad because somebody snuck in there and got one of the spots. I said, I tell you what, ain't nobody making the leaderboard this week.
39:26Shannon Sharpe:but me. Hey, you got that kind of endurance? Oh yeah, for sure. Hey, Ojo. Yo, sir. You ain't never done flywheel where they got like the big screen, they show you who leading in class and all that. Hey, Joe, I didn't even know we had access to stuff like that down here in Miami, Joe. What's the other one name? What's the other one name? They got that in that lounge? The spin class, Ash. You talking about, It's like yellow and white or something. Yeah, and they be dancing up in there. Yeah. SoulCycle. SoulCycle. There you go. I used to go to SoulCycle too. Oh yeah, I would do it. Hey, hey, hey.
40:04Shannon Sharpe:That's what I was saying, don't you? I used to take like six classes in a day. Hey, oh, I used to go to SoulCycle down in the Beverly Center, down at the Beverly Hills. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I used to go to the one in New York. Oh, did you? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, that SoulCycle something else, boy. But it be a whole vibe in there, Ocho. Oh, they be dancing.
40:27Shannon Sharpe:That's in Atlanta, Joe? They probably got them in Miami, too. Yeah, they get them. I'm sure they do got SoulCycles in Miami. I doubt that. Ocho, Ocho. I'm going to put up a GPS. Miami ain't laughing at nothing when it comes to the game. Your owner, the Dolphins, he owns them. Mr. Ross? Yeah, I think he owns SoulCycle and Equinox. Damn. I think they're under the same umbrella. Hey, you was right. SoulCycle on 2325 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. Ocho. Hey, ask me how far it is from here, from where I live. Probably 45 minutes. Probably a mile, five miles. 45 minutes. Oh, yeah, you ain't going. Ocho way out.
41:08Shannon Sharpe:What, Ocho talking about SoulCycle? That's on Collins. That's down on South Beach. Oh, you done been there? I think it's at the one hotel, if I ain't mistaken. Okay. Ocho, Ocho, we got to watch it. You know what I'm saying? We got to watch old Joe now. Hey, Unk, Unk, Unk, when it comes to some fitness now, your boy done tried it all now. I love me some SoulCycle, Flywheel. I used to do all that. Yeah, see, that's how I was, Joe. See, that's how I was. I tried anything. I did the CrossFit. I done did it all. Yeah, yeah. Hey, see, the stuff y 'all like to do, I need to be moving, Joe. Like playing tennis, like playing soccer, I need to be on a big field.
41:44When it comes to people trying to get me to play pickleball, like, hey, I don't want to play pickleball because there ain't enough room for me to move. I got to be active in movement. Like Pilates. You enjoy Pilates. I'm sure you enjoy Pilates as well. Joe, you love yoga, whether it's Brickham yoga or hot yoga. Whatever it may be. I can't sit still, Joe. I got to be moving around. I got to be doing something. Oh, he got real ADHD, huh? No, no, no. Joe, I still got all my athleticism. Nothing had deteriorated.
42:17Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, you can still have ADHD and half-ass leather system. Nah, nah, hey Joe. Nah, Joe, that's not it, man. I just can't sit. I mean, to me, it's boring, Joe. I'm just being on. Just being still, stretching. Yeah, like people try to get me to go play golf, ump. They always invite me to golf stuff, and I'm like, I'm just sitting there. I ain't being out in the sun. I ain't being out in the sun no more than getting in my car and going into a building, getting back in my car and bringing my black ass home and go to the garage and let the garage down. Joe, I tell you what, when I can't run no more and I really lose it and I can't hang with the people that I like to compete and play with, I would definitely go into SoulCycle or go into Pilates and go into yoga.
43:01I start golfing because I can't do it no more. I'm just a homebody.
43:06Shannon Sharpe:I left my house for the first time today in like four days. Where you went, huh? I mean, I went and got some – I went and got Chick-fil-A and I got orange juice the other day. Huh? No, I left today. I only went – when I got home Wednesday, I been home. You be at home playing with your dog. You be back there in the backyard playing that little bing bag. No, I just – I be watching TV. I be watching sporting events and, you know, like, okay, what we going to talk about this. I be trying, you know, taking notes and stuff like that. I've never been a person that liked to go. I've never been that person.
43:45Shannon Sharpe:Man, we go in here. Okay, have fun. Hey. Hey, Joe. Guy, you coming time? Hey, Sharp. Hey, man, we going to be in Atlanta. What you doing? Have a good time.
44:02Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I got to really, really, really, really rock with you for me to leave my house? Yeah. Right. Yeah, I mean, me and me, I'm damn near Joe. Me and I'm damn near about the same, boy. Like when I leave the house, if somebody was after me, they'd be able to find me. They already know where I'm going. Hey, you know what? Joe, all they got to do is go to the cigar bar right there in Pines. We going to find him. He going to be right there every day. Gym in the morning, but I go so early. I go so early, Joe. I get up. I take my daughter to school, drop off. Soon as I drop off, I hit the gym real quick.
44:37after the gym I go do my soccer practice at about 930 right here Flamingo Park once I'm finished with that I'm at the house I'm on the game I pick my daughter up at 2 o 'clock bring her home help with her homework I don't know I've been struggling I help my daughter with her math questions
44:56Shannon Sharpe:she came back all that shit all wrong look when my mom come to town Shelly comes because she's like, I want Shelly to come because you ain't going to do nothing. Shelly going to take her to the casino, you know, take her to the store, then take her to the market. No, don't come here thinking you're going to do something. My sister come, she don't want to do nothing. My sister don't want to do anything. She'll have Shelly door dash her food. She's like, Shelly, I need some chips. I need like two bags of chips. I need some English muffins. I need some sausage biscuits. I need X, Y, and Z. That's it.
45:34Shannon Sharpe:My brother come. we all like that. Now, my brother will drive to a golf event, but he came, like I said, he came and spent Christmas. He stayed with me two days. That's the first time we had been together for Christmas since 1987 before he went to the draft because actually when he went to the league and then all of a sudden I was in the league, and so this was the first time we spent together. We leave the house. And you ain't got no snacks in the house? Yeah, I got some snacks. We got a little something, something. You say, I know you say your sister. But when my sister come, See, my sister take everything, whatever, food.
46:10Shannon Sharpe:Like if she go out and I order her something, my sister go freeze it and put it in her carry-on and she gonna take it back with her. She take bread, she take chips, she take sausage biscuits, she take everything. She know I'm gonna throw it out. Yeah. Joe, you got snacks in there? Man, I got kids, oh Joe, yeah, yeah, we got snacks. Okay, okay, we understand. You gotta have some discipline over here, man. Hey, you do. You wanna have that Bugatti body, you can't be in there eating them Zuzuz and Wem Wem now. Mm-hmm. See, I don't know. I gotta keep this figure. I gotta keep this one thing smaller the way it's cute in the face.
46:46Shannon Sharpe:What? Them girls, yeah, I remember when I had a Coca-Cola. You still got it, it's just two liter. You know what I'm saying? It ain't that Coke body, it's just a two liter. It's a K-90, man. Joe, I don't know if you guys remember, but they used to make three liter sodas. Y 'all remember three liter soda? Yes! I ain't never seen no three liter, honk. Hold on. Hey, like you tell me, you ain't live, you ain't live. You and Joe ain't never heard no bullhead clap. I said, hold on. How these jokers in they mid-40s and they ain't never heard of that. Hey, honk, we ain't never had it, honk. That's why you don't know about it, honk.
47:24Shannon Sharpe:I ain't never heard of that. You ain't never had the measles, the smallpox? You heard of it? I think I heard of the clap, but I ain't heard of no boo, what you say? Yeah, yeah, the boo-hee. I ain't never heard of that. I ain't never heard of that. That was a good one yesterday. I had to Google it and it popped right up too. Yeah, but no, I used to take my sister to Mastro's. My sister, she'd take the bread, she'd take the bread, we'd take the bread home. She'd take her food, her shrimp, she'd bring that stuff home. She'd freeze it, put it in the freezer. That thing going back home with my sister.
48:00Shannon Sharpe:She don't play. Nope. All the bread, everything. Only thing she won't take back is something like juices or something. Other than that, anything that's in a bag, oh, it's going back with her. Yeah. Going right in that overhead bed. I say, Lord, have a rest. I'm taking my food home. 51:50Shannon Sharpe:I'm Edoka. He has not been ruled out for the series. Before the game, David McMenamin reported that Kevin Durant's teammates, including Amin Thompson, had no idea what was going on with him, raising questions about whether KD is rehabbing away from the team or whether his team has been checking in on him. But then Shams reported, KD came to the Rockets facility this morning for his rehab with the team's medical staff and participated in film sessions and meeting with teammates. The bone bruise has created swelling, stiffness, and lack of mobility in the ankle. Look, you know they reported that, I don't know, I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to it, Joe, so maybe you and Ocho have about this burner phone and how it caused some tensions in the locker room.
52:37Shannon Sharpe:Some things were said per the burner phone, and I guess they traced it back to KD. I don't know. I don't know, chat. Y 'all would know more than I do, Joe. maybe that's something you – because the other night, I didn't see KD on the sideline. I saw him tonight on the sideline. Yeah. But I don't remember seeing him on Friday night. Joe, did you see – do you remember seeing him? No, I don't even think he was there. I don't think he was there. Okay, okay, okay. But he definitely was there tonight, though. Okay. Yeah, I saw him tonight. I saw him tonight. I don't know. I just – I don't know. I don't either.
53:10Shannon Sharpe:Are you talking about the burner account they talking about or are you talking about a burner phone? The Burn account that he was tweeting from. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I've heard a little bit about it, but I don't really know much about it. I'm going to be honest with you. And this was this year, right? Yeah, I think this was around the All-Star game. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, so he used a Burn account just to defend himself probably, huh? Yeah, defend himself. And I guess he said something critical about his teammates. What? I think he was critical of his teammates. So you think they take, you think them, especially them young dudes, y 'all know they take offense to that.
53:46Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. They may not come out and see it, but when you're young, man, you hear some, you know, any negative criticism, you know, young guys. Especially somebody like that, Joe. Somebody like that that they probably look up to. Oh, yeah, for sure. And it's your teammate, hell. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, we all would have felt some type of way if our teammate had said something about us. Yeah. Because this is the family. Your family say something about it, even though that's not blood. But the mere fact, because we always take the high road with our family. We might not like the guy, but he the best guy.
54:20Shannon Sharpe:He the best teammate, X, Y, and Z, we've ever played with. I don't rock with him. He got something going on in his place. I ain't going. Right, right. That's just the way it is. Everybody, look, we can be – I'm friendly. That doesn't necessarily mean I'm your friend. Right, right. that's a good that's a s and ly that's friendly friends entirely two different things everybody in your workplace you're not friends with you might be friendly you might be cordial because you see that person on a daily basis right i ain't gotta rock with everybody right
55:03wow hey i think people need to be a little bit more nice too um and joe what you mean he had KD had a burner phone, right? But KD was one of the few. Joe, I'm talking about one of the few. We talk about one of the greatest scores of all time. One of the few players, regardless of sport, that sit there and engage with the fans. I mean, literally sit there and engage with the fans, whether it's negative or positive, KD gonna go back and forth with you.
55:26Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah. You talk a little trash, you gonna talk trash back. Oh, he definitely will. And he always, the fact that, we talk about, this ain't just no regular athlete. We talk about a superstar. he's sitting there engaging with us common folk you know so oh he definitely you say something slick to him he gonna see it if you write something slick about him he gonna see it I think that's dope I wish more of the superstar athletes were a little bit open and show their personality a little bit more a little bit often but they just you know how they look at us common folk they don't mess with us like that No, most of them have been schooled like, bro, we can't.
56:08Shannon Sharpe:Don't let them drag you down to their level. Right. Because sometimes, Ocho, that's all people jumping on there to do. They try to get you to say something. You go to a game. They're trying to say something to you to get you out of character. So the best way to stay in character is to not deal with them. Well, see, the funny thing about it is when I go back and forth, see, I'd be on that cursing, Joe. I'd be going, you say something to me, I'm going to say something back anyway. and that's really not me going out of character. That is my character. That's always been me. So it's like, okay, yeah, that's Ocho.
56:40Shannon Sharpe:Well, as a fan, the only thing they're trying to do really is get your attention. Yeah. And once they get your attention, now they feel like they got you. You feel me? They'll say any damn thing to get your attention too. Hey, I'm going to tell you, there's some fans out here who do their homework, boy. For sure. Hey, I'm serious. And when you come to town, they're going to know. And they gonna have signs up, they gonna be calling your names, yeah. They gonna do they part. They know if you got the kids, you know, baby mamas, they know, you know, hey, you mad and you did something slick. Because it's different now.
57:18Shannon Sharpe:I remember when I first got into the league, you know, you might do a little something, reporters see you, that wasn't nothing. Yeah. Now, front page. People, I mean, the fans, fans wouldn't even put you out there like that. Now. Boy, there's a phone everywhere. Man. And now with the camera phone. Think about it. Camera phone and what they call that thing? What I don't have. What I don't have. No, what is it? Email. Email. Think about how many email and cell phones done brought men and women down. Yeah. That email gets you. Hey, you said something perfect, boy. That email, that's where they get you at.
58:13Shannon Sharpe:See, people don't got to check your phone no more, bro, when they got their email, because they can get all your messages, text messages, phone calls. If they get your email, You think you slick you want to. Yeah. They know every movie you make. Oh, I deleted it. Boy, they get that forensic and pull up everything. They pull up every picture you have since 2012. You think, hey. I don't know when camera phones really came into existence or whatever, but I'm saying they pull up everything. It's in the cloud somewhere, Joe. It might not be on your phone, but it's up there in the cloud. and they'll reach up there and pull it down on your ass.
58:57Shannon Sharpe:Hey, it made the world smaller when everybody got them phones, boy. It did. And you just automatically assume that when you out, because you have, you don't have, you know, in a public place, the right to privacy. Not in a public place. No, sir. You trying to be low? Hotel, hotel is private property. Right. So there might be a situation, you know, what we see going on with Vrabel, he has I got an expectation of privacy I got an expectation this is a private property it's like you shooting somebody at their home I got an expectation of privacy here yeah but you know them people don't care about that they don't damn damn damn damn at the Lowe's Hotel you trying to be low you at the Lowe's Hotel trying to be low hey Joe I don't even like that hypothetical Joe like even even as a hypothetical i don't even know where the lows he'll tell that the only lows i know is where you get construction and lumber from joe guess what did they see you there hey can i get no can't get no picture bro
1:00:07Shannon Sharpe:i got my paddy shoes on i ain't trying to be heard or seen
