6:03Shannon Sharpe:The rematch was not the bond burner that many people expected. It was a decade. Oliveira got hurt in the first fight. I think it was 2015-2016. But Oliveira went from losing the lightweight title to winning the BMF title the following year. Oliveira entered the fight as the underdog then landed takedowns at Will. The crowd, which had signed up for blood, Both of these guys got dynamite in their hand, and both of them. I'm looking at the BMFO, Joe. I understand the objective is to win. But when you say you the baddest mofo on the paint, you got to let them hands go. That's not what we got tonight.
6:39Shannon Sharpe:It started booing. Oliveira didn't change the course. Every time Holloway get a couple of punches on him, he get close. He couldn't stop the takedown. Oliveira take him down and basically stayed in the guard or the side guard for the remainder of the round. and it was a unanimous decision. It was a boring fight. That's not what I expected. I expected to see these things let go. And both landed a couple of punches, but clearly Charles Oliveira had enough. He said, look, I'm coming to win the fight. Damn what y 'all expect. I can assure you Dana White is not happy. Before I let you go, Ocho, thank you, Dana White.
7:13Shannon Sharpe:Thank you, UFC, for getting us the tickets to come to the nice fight. We greatly, greatly appreciate that. Can't thank you enough. Go ahead, Ocho.
7:20Chad Johnson:Obviously, listen, I was expecting a really good fight. I heard Cormier say the fans that were booing, they were casuals. How could you not appreciate the dominance that Oliveira showed, obviously, on the ground and grappling, being that's what he's best at, if not the best, one of the best in UFC right now at the ground game? You have two different fighting styles. You have two fighters. One is really good at fighting and grappling on the ground. You have one that's a phenomenal striker, one of the better strikers in the UFC, and Max Holloway. And he refused to give Max any type of leverage, any type of room to do just that.
8:01Chad Johnson:I thought Max would have had a better game plan seeing after round one, okay, he's not going to allow me to strike. I'm going to have to be on the move every time. I'm going to have to be on my bicycle, not going straight back, but unleashing Max as a volume puncher. Get a few punches out, either swing to the right or swing to the left. But every time he comes straight back, all he does is he stayed close. Oliveira stayed close. He would throw a kick and get him to react and then go low and take him down to the ground and shoot him down to the ground. Oh, he did it five rounds straight. Five rounds straight.
8:33Chad Johnson:Five rounds straight. It's almost like every round. Goddamn Max Holloway was on his back for three minutes of the goddamn round.
8:40Shannon Sharpe:And he couldn't get him off. He had no answer to get him off. He started the full guard. Then he had the side guard. It really didn't matter. I think the thing is Ocho, it's just like a lot of people thought that the BMF and you see when Holloway and guys they throw with Masvidal had the belt throw hands. That's what people were expecting. I understood. Look, we understand the situation where you're not the baddest mofo. That belt means something. It's a little different. It's like we're in a three point competition. We're like, okay, the first to 20 and we supposed to be shooting threes and you shoot layup.
9:13Shannon Sharpe:I get it. You won the game, but damn, that's not what the fans came to see.
9:17Chad Johnson:That's not what the fans came to see. Also, Uncle, but you have to understand, as a fighter, what do I do best? That's how I have to win. Neutralize what you do. I'm going to do what I do best while neutralizing what you do best. Bingo. And listen, he had a great game plan going into it. I'm not going. I cannot throw with you. I cannot sit in the pocket. I cannot sit at range and go blow for blow with Max. That is his strength. That's what he does extremely well. What does he not do well? Ground game. I know I win there and Olivera is obviously the bigger man he was huge he was huge it was much bigger than tonight um I I would have liked to see Max I know he wants to stand there he wants to to to to show that he can sit there and exchange punches and throw in volume but he he needed a different game plan tonight especially after round one seeing what Olivera wanted to do as far as just taking him down and smothering most of the punches.
10:14Chad Johnson:And, I mean, listen, I'm sure those that are enthusiasts, you know, they appreciate the fight and the dominance from Oliveira. For those that were looking for a knockout and wanted to see, you know, a war, you know?
10:27Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I think that's what they wanted to see, Ocho. And I think the mistake that Max Holloway made, he fell into the trap that, you know what, Oliveira's going to come through hands. The BMS, we're the baddest mofos on the planet. it ain't going to be no it's not going to go to the cards I don't want it to go to the cards we decided and the thing is I'm not so sure that he practiced defending the takedown because it looked like he had no answer now he tried like rounds four and rounds three and four he tried it for as long as he could but Olivera still boom and he couldn't and that's the thing Once they find out you can't start to take, you can't snuff out the takedown, what are you going to do?
11:13Shannon Sharpe:And you can't get him up? He get on top of you and you can't get him up. You can't get off the ground for four minutes. I mean, each round was like three and a half, four minutes. Just ride, just ride, ride, ride, ride. I'm like, damn. And the funny thing. The lady sitting next to him was like, oh, get off him. I was like, ma 'am, I don't think that's going to happen.
11:32Chad Johnson:Unless you can get him up off him. And the funny thing about it, you have to understand, And also, when someone's on top of you, you know, for that long, you know how much energy you're exerting. Yeah, trying to get him up off you, yes. And not only that, Chris Oliveira beat Max Holloway at his game. When they were standing up for the few times they did exchange, hell, he landed 79 % of his punches, leading up to his strikes, leading up to the goddamn fourth round. So he dominated not only standing up, striking, but he dominated him on the ground, too. So Max really had no answer. I would have hoped for a different game plan.
12:09Chad Johnson:I'm sure it's going to be a trilogy. I'm sure they got to fight. They got to fight again.
12:14Shannon Sharpe:Right.
12:14Chad Johnson:You know?
12:15Shannon Sharpe:But Danny goes to look here, man. I ain't paying y 'all no money to come down there and lay on the ground. Hey, I come to turn the light out of the building. That's why you get the prize. You get fight of the night and you get knockout of night and they get$25 ,000,$50 ,000. Because that's what the fans want to see. Man, hey, they will boo your ass. Hey, look, you could give them three, two rounds of nonstop action, Ocho. Yeah. But I tell you what, get your ass in the clench. It don't do nothing for like 10 seconds, 15 seconds. Boo, boo. I was like, well, damn. Yeah. They just gave you 10 and a half minutes of nonstop action.
12:55Shannon Sharpe:But those fans want to see blood. They want to see knockouts. They want to see somebody looking up at T-Mobile, somebody looking up at UFC. That's what they want. I'm just telling you. Right. I'm not going to say I'm Joe Rogan or Daniel Cromay, but I've been to enough of those fights. Right. I know what the fans want to see, and they want to see blood. And what was that movie with Daniel Day-Lewis? There will be blood. There will be blood. That's what those fans want to see. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. um but i thought oh look olivera he they look good i mean i thought i thought it was a um well i'm trying to think uh uh the guy got knocked out the brother got knocked out i was like damn bro michael johnson yeah oh joe i watched that he got faith he's got hey he got the faith
13:45Chad Johnson:with the right that left came out of nowhere boom yep i mean listen he did and rodriguez hey michael Johnson was doing really well up until that point too.
13:55Shannon Sharpe:He was. The Falcons was doing really well. They were up 28-3. They were doing really well until they worked. That is the thing about a fight. You can be doing really well. You can be leading round one, round five, round ten, and then somebody throws a shot that you don't see, and it's over.
14:19Chad Johnson:At that level, when it comes to the elite, when it comes to the best of the best, obviously in the ufc and boxing as well everybody has a puncher's chance yes everybody has a punching chance them light-ass gloves oh yeah absolutely absolutely you got you down there oh
14:33Shannon Sharpe:joe you damn near bare knuckle to be honest yeah them only four hours gloves basically yep so basically you got an isotone on your hand that's basically and so when you hear something like i said man here no boy in the jaw yeah just like the dude that was one punch rodriguez went straight down the pipe wow he was done dude hey dude switched to southpaw and as soon as we switched to southpaw shock up it was a wrap it was a wrap and he was looking and he ain't he ain't even hit him again oh he could have yeah because you see a lot of times they hit him and then he come with a big boom yeah he's like nah i'm good i'm gonna let you i'm gonna let you i'm gonna let you live to see another day but just know i had something for you yeah hey i mean that's that's that's
15:20Chad Johnson:messed up and you got to be careful too all that all that switch switch and switching stances you when you when you when you do that if you're comfortable at one stance you know we are vulnerable if you're gonna switch to southpaw or you're doing on on orthodox you got to know where where where your weaknesses are yes and obviously switching like that i know it's cool to be able to do it but you don't understand you you had a disadvantage in certain areas
15:45Shannon Sharpe:and the thing is if you're not used to first of all there are very few men that fight orthodox can jump into a southpaw stand yeah you're not bud crawford yeah there are very few stay in your orthodox and and and make that work so what you did you left you you made yourself vulnerable yeah yeah and i'm like bro yeah it's crazy it's great but i was i am not gonna lie ocho uh considering because even even the fight before that that was action i mean nobody got knocked out or got submitted but there was action yeah they were they were going and i was like oh man olivera holloway oh yeah oh yeah yeah yeah somebody hey you thought you're gonna get something nice huh fireworks hey the doctor's coming in the ring and somebody's gonna put ice on somebody back You are right.
16:35Shannon Sharpe:You know, you know where you are. They're gonna be asking a bunch of questions That's what I was expecting in the Holloway Olivera fight. Yeah, we didn't get that now Congratulations, Olivera are he won the fight? I'm not so look
16:49Chad Johnson:When you go back if you study fighting, uh-huh most great fighters came from very impoverished conditions Mm-hmm.
16:55Shannon Sharpe:You look at that. You look at those Brazilians. Yes, they come from the for Bella.
16:58Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah
16:59Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah, you look at a guy like Conor McGregor he from from the streets to get a of ireland you look at the russians uh they ain't getting no college scholarship they got a fight and so when you come up having to fight you know how to fight yes sir you i'm not saying it hasn't happened but for the most part when you look at fighters boxers ufc whatever the case may be look at their background yeah i guarantee you they ain't come from no silver spoon
17:29Chad Johnson:You know what's funny, Unc? And it's not just UFC. You think about football. Everyone has a story. Everyone has a background. Yes. Most of them, depending on a high percentage, soccer players. You know, I mean, basketball. Yes. That's our ticket out. That is our way out. Yeah.
17:47Shannon Sharpe:Ain't too many two-car, three-car, four-car, car, garage. He was in a fight. Yeah. Very small. No, no, no, no. You ain't getting in that sport. that ain't that ain't no sport if you had a nice cushy life yeah that you get into right unless you just got the love fighting not with no four car garage i'm going up i don't love it that much a three car hell a single car garage somebody hey garage yeah park that damn car put in the shade tree yeah get out walk in the house it wasn't no garage hey you ever been to

18:23Chad Johnson:in Brazil you ever been to the Fabellas I have not been to the Fabellas man it's that's I I've
18:31Shannon Sharpe:seen you know obviously seen documentaries of it and see how it was uh um and they tell the story how Michael Jackson wanted to film yeah I don't really know about they don't really care about us yeah I think that was the name of the song yeah and and uh the the government wouldn't you couldn't
18:48Chad Johnson:get clearance he had to get permission he had to get permission from the date yeah we got it yeah
18:56Shannon Sharpe:ain't nobody hey nobody's the safest man he was the safest man in brazil oh yeah absolutely um but like i said you look at you look at khabib and you look at the dagestadis from russia and you look at these hey bro when you got a you got a a a empty stomach an empty back pocket and a broken heart, you fight your ass off.
19:18Chad Johnson:Yeah.
19:19Shannon Sharpe:You fight your ass off. But like I said, I know I would have expected Olivera put on the clinic. Ocho, I know you want to see us throw for 500 yards, but they can't stop the run. There you go. That's what I tell them all the time. Bro, I promise you, if y 'all stop TD, we'll throw the ball. But if you don't stop TD, he's getting five, six, seven yards of carry. What's the incentive that we have to throw it throw it? You can't stop We can just turn around and hand it to him and he getting 15 20 yards a clip. Yeah So what's the incentive for us to drop back to throw it where your ball might get tip?
19:55Shannon Sharpe:Somebody might miss a protection and get John hit in the back of the head now now also tonight
20:00Chad Johnson:For those that watching those that wanted to see fireworks the only way we would have gotten fireworks if Max Holloway had a counter For being taken down if you were able to stop being taken down then we can make it a fight where we gotta stand up. Now we got the throw. But he had no answer for it.
20:21Shannon Sharpe:Well, the thing is he's gotta be able to snuff the takedown. Once he couldn't snuff that so what was his counter? He couldn't get off the ground. He couldn't get off his back. No. Once Olivera got him on the mat he could not get up for the rest of the fight. So if he took him down with three and a half minutes he took him down with four minutes the fight stayed on the mat for the final three and a half, four minutes.
20:44Chad Johnson:The whole time, yeah.
20:47Shannon Sharpe:I'm sure that's not how he wanted it to end. I can assure you probably Max Holloway would probably prefer to be knocked out than to have it end like this. Like this? Probably so. Either that or submit it. But hell. Yeah. I thought he tried. He tried. I thought he had it in the first.
21:05Chad Johnson:Almost. He couldn't get it deep enough. Yeah, his defense was very good. His defense on the ground was very good. You know, he took a few shots on the ground, but as far as being, you know, being able to maneuver and using his hands really well to make sure he wasn't submitted. He was he did. I mean, he did it really well. And it's for one for us to be saying what we wanted to see. But actually being in there and having a fight is two different things. It's two different things, you know, when you're under fire. So us saying this is what you should have done, you know, but. Yes, I mean, we're in there.
21:36Shannon Sharpe:because we didn't Ocho what do fans say when they lose a game you should have been running it you should have blitzed you should have did this it's easy to say that after the fight yeah yeah oh man give uh give Olivera's credit he debate uh the BMF um and so it's gonna be interesting to see what's next on his card I was just gonna ask you that
22:04Chad Johnson:what's next
22:06Shannon Sharpe:so he in the 155 so that's what lightweight what about what about what does uh ilia fight at so poor you might be 155 that that'd be a good one hey now he definitely got dynamite in his hands
22:25Chad Johnson:he definitely got dynamite in his hands yeah that'd be a good one as long as he got it i mean sure i don't know much about elia style and what he does i mean is he good is he good at the ground
22:35Shannon Sharpe:game that i know he can strike but i ain't never seen him uh i think didn't elia knock uh uh hold on so somebody knocked aloe vera out who knocked him out somebody knocked him out was it boko
22:55Shannon Sharpe:now elia elia can fight he let them hands go i was ho you know that i was hoping for a guy i was hoping for a chat don't you know i was hoping for him you know max holloway and olivera because he said if you call me to olivera said if you call me to the center i'm gonna come and we're gonna
23:11Chad Johnson:let these hands fly so i was hoping well hold on he called him to the center with 20 seconds of going to goddamn fight he let him he let him get up obviously when they got off the ground and he and he he caught him he caught him again okay olivera caught him again yeah yeah uh ilia
23:28Shannon Sharpe:knocked out uh olivera oh say they fought already okay okay i know somebody had knocked him out i mean he he got hands no he really he really really really got hands oh yeah um but i'm trying to think who who's the who is the fight that people want to see i mean uh they they introduced the card that's going to be at the white house that's going to fight yeah i'm sure i'm 14th uh uh I don't know what it's called. America 250 is to celebrate the anniversary of a. I'm not I'm not sure. I'm not sure. What they're going to call this card. I know it's the celebration of the America birthday of 250 years.
24:12Shannon Sharpe:But it's going to be it's going to be, you know, Gaethje and Tempur fight. That's that's the main event, right? That's the main event. Piedra and Cyril Ghan fight. so they got they got a nice card i was i was hoping to see john jones on there is it too late it's too late huh yeah it's too late they don't set the card now damn they got it they don't set the card i think the thing is the plus the last thing you want to have happen is something you know uh they sent johnny and then johnny f the card up so right right uh data i think dana i think uh uh dana's like you know what let's go with your thing let's let's we know these guys are going to be where they're supposed to be and do it.

28:57Shannon Sharpe:It's supposed to be. Cairo Bolaho won every round when he fought the Ritter tonight. Now he wants the Plessy.
29:07Chad Johnson:The Plessy, yo. He did call the Plessy out. I couldn't understand. I couldn't understand.
29:11Shannon Sharpe:Well, he threw, hey, dude threw hard too, man. He was bad. That guy was throwing. I was like, damn. I mean, he was, I mean, every punch he throws, he throws with the intent of knocking somebody out.
29:22Chad Johnson:Yeah. Mm-hmm.
29:25Shannon Sharpe:Every last one of them. And he, like, he's a big dude because as we were leaving, he was in the hallway.
29:33Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah.
29:36Shannon Sharpe:I mean, I understand he made weight at, what, 180? 185 and 186. But after refuel, you're probably 195, close to two.
29:46Chad Johnson:Easy. Mm-hmm.
29:48Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. But I mean, look, I think the thing is we kind of get spoiled because there's something about a knockout. It's like boxing. Now, if you give me 10 rounds, 12 rounds of nonstop action, I can live with that but man that
30:15Chad Johnson:don't want his clinching in boxing you clinch again and nah
30:21Shannon Sharpe:the men's battleweight Raul Rojas Jr. defeated Rob Font by unanimous decision the 21 year Rojas was dominant recording 16 takedowns on his way to the biggest victory in his young career the matchup was a big step up in competition for the youngest fighter in the UFC has ever signed. He's likely to be ranked, come back Monday, and took another positive step toward his goal of breaking John Jones' record as the youngest champion in UFC history. If I'm not mistaken, I think John was, what, 21? Uh, he looked good. He looked good. I mean, he just looked like, bro. I mean, but Rojas was big. That man tall?
31:05yeah very tall yeah yeah yeah big ass a lightweight a battle weight damn
31:14Shannon Sharpe:i mean he tall though cho po font i was like damn oh john jones was 23 years 243 days old but hey john is the truth man man man hey he's the truth
31:32Chad Johnson:I would have loved that that would have been White House card is already stacked it's already nice just having John Jones a part of that White House card I think it would have been special
31:44Shannon Sharpe:but here's the thing who was going to fight he wanted to fight Piedra who's fighting Cyril Ghosn
31:52Chad Johnson:right
31:54Shannon Sharpe:I think the thing they wanted to have happen at an earlier time was him fighting what's the what's the the guy that got hurt he got his eye gouged and I forget his name but that's the guy they wanted that's the fight that Dana wanted to have. Tom Aspinall Tom Aspinall that's the fight that but then when you look at it and you look at how he was fighting against and John Jones like is that the guy that y 'all thought could beat me? Did y 'all see how I ran through him? Yeah. And y 'all thought that guy could beat me. Piazza, I mean, bro, a three-division champ, something they've never had. But he big, man, dog.
32:44I mean, he – I mean.
32:46Shannon Sharpe:What's your name? What's your name anyway? What, two something? Well, I mean, 185, 205, and you can't be more than 265 as a heavyweight. Okay. so I mean for him to uh to get down to 185 he was killing himself to get down to 185 because he's a big man he's a big man would I be surprised that he walked around at 220 nope I wouldn't
33:17Shannon Sharpe:I would not be surprised I would not be surprised if he walked around at 220 it's gonna be an interesting fight God is getting better he's getting better yeah
33:26Chad Johnson:you going to the White House card?
33:28Shannon Sharpe:I don't know I don't know man you know everything is going to be so damn expensive in D.C.
33:36Chad Johnson:but hold on wait a minute not for you you just went to the fight tonight the fight ain't at the hotel the fight ain't at the flights I mean a flight to D.C. that ain't nothing but you can get a flight for like$150 okay I don't know they didn't get your ticket
33:58Shannon Sharpe:so boom that that that knocks everything out them hotels man them hotels man they they rake you over the coals you never tried extended stay you ever been there before yeah extended stay got kitchen refrigerator i want my i want my kitchen to be uh i want my kitchen to be downstairs and to bring it up to my room. That's what I want. That's what I want my kitchen.
34:23Chad Johnson:I'm just trying to get you places that's very, that's inexpensive, you know? Quick, or maybe an Airbnb. You probably, you'd get off cheaper with that. No, I don't want to be,
34:35Shannon Sharpe:I don't want to sleep in nobody else's house. I don't. I don't. I don't.
34:45Shannon Sharpe:Oh, oh yeah. Yeah, lightweight Drew Dober defeated Michael Johnson via KO punch, 153 at round two. Gregory Rodriguez defeated Bruno Fiatta via knockout. One punch, 147, round one. I just think the thing is like UFC has gotten people spoiled so much because you know dynamite, good things normally happen, Ocho. Somebody normally goes to sleep. Somebody gets choked out, you know, rear naked, guillotine, arm bar, something, submit, something happens that you're like, damn that must have been pretty bad, you made somebody tap out, made somebody call you uncle because I would tap out and say uncle, call me uncle and I'll let you go
35:27Chad Johnson:but also you know what else people have to remember too when it comes to better fighters when it comes to fighters that are a little bit more skilled a little bit more technical, you know, the margin for error is very small you can get slept, or you can get submitted, so that most of the time they're very careful on when they take their chances and that they're safe. I mean, tonight, you saw it in the last fight. You know what? I'm going to play it safe. I'm going to do what he doesn't do well. I'm going to take the crown, and that's how I'm going to win the fight. Whether people boo or not, that was Olivera's plan.
36:02Yes, it was.
36:05Shannon Sharpe:And you want me to change it? Make me change it. But why change it when it's working? Like I said, he came to win. I know what the BMF stand for. You slug it out, and guys that have held that belt, they slugged it out and knocked somebody out. But that was not Charles Oliveira's plan. His plan was to take as little punishment as possible, take it to the mat, and knowing Holloway, that's not what Holloway's good at, getting off his back and getting back to the center of the ring, that wasn't what he was good at. And it showed at night. He was shut out. I wouldn't have had him winning one round.
36:40Chad Johnson:No.
36:40Shannon Sharpe:Not one. He got dominated for five rounds.
36:43Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, and even
36:48Shannon Sharpe:the last round, he ended up getting guard and somehow what you call him ended up taking it right back.
36:53Chad Johnson:Even when they got back up, they got back up and he took him, Olivera took him right back down. Yeah.
37:04Shannon Sharpe:Probably the most interesting fight of the preliminary card was Kobe Gabbard against Zhao Young via unanimous decision. Gabbard ate several low blows in round three. The second one literally vomited in a bucket before the point was deducted from his opponent. Zao Long lost another point when he landed the knee in the clinch below the belt soon after. I mean. Man, he was killing that man, man. I'm whop! And the thing, you all saw the reaction on his face on show you like, yeah, you did that, bro. I'm sorry. You got it. You got it. Yes, he got to be more about one of them. He got him straight with his toe.
37:44Shannon Sharpe:I'm talking about you know Normally try to kick with the side cuz you don't want to break down.
37:47Chad Johnson:Yeah, he kicked right.
37:48Shannon Sharpe:Oh my goodness. Yeah
37:54Shannon Sharpe:They give you five minutes And he was like obviously you don't want to take that count because people like oh, you take that long It hurt that bad. You ain't never been hit there. Yeah, if you if you have never been here in your private
38:06Chad Johnson:Yeah, oh it hurt it hurt now A kick?
38:11Shannon Sharpe:What?
38:12Chad Johnson:Man, stop playing. It hurts.
38:16Shannon Sharpe:You feel like you can't breathe. Somebody got a bag over your head. And every time you try to take a breath, they throw another bag over your head. Man, that bag hurts so bad.
38:30Chad Johnson:Yes, it does.
38:32Shannon Sharpe:But we had fun. I had fun. I had fun tonight. Got an opportunity. I was in the lounge I got there too early I gotta do a better job timing it
38:43Chad Johnson:You was there for a long time Before the fights even started
38:46Shannon Sharpe:No no no I thought we was getting there I was like okay we getting there Next time I ain't leaving my house Till about 7 I want to see the last I want to see the last four fights That's it
38:59Chad Johnson:So you was early like we was for the Bud and Canelo fight Yeah not quite that early not quite that early yeah we were well we were early that boy yeah man never again never no more as a matter of fact they might be hey i might be arriving a
39:18Shannon Sharpe:bud might need them walking to the ring and then you walk in right i'll be i'm gonna be walking in when they walk into the ring oh joe what'd you do tonight oh man but you know i'm back in
39:31Chad Johnson:Houston again? What? Man, I'm back in Houston again, man. Listen, a certain individual, I don't want to say their names. Chat, y 'all stay with me real quick. A certain individual called me, you know, not panicking, but hoping I could do them a favor. Okay. So I say, well, cool. I could do you a favor. So I asked him, what do you need me to do? He say, I need you to be an efficient to my wedding. Did I say that right? An official? Efficient. Efficient to my wedding. I don't know what an efficient is. Efficient. Efficient. Okay, there it is. Oh, yeah, yeah, that. Okay. An efficient. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
40:13Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, so you're going to officiate the wedding.
40:16Chad Johnson:I was officiating the wedding. So I said, of course I'll come down. Just give me a flight. Give me a room. And I'll be an efficient for your wedding. I flew to Houston. I landed today.
40:26Shannon Sharpe:this was short notice now you hit me two days ago right boom one day goes by i fly in the day i had
40:32Chad Johnson:a flight nine o 'clock this morning i landed when it got fitted for a tuxedo uh had them size everything you know together and whatever whatever boom i missed rehearsal on friday so i had to i had i had my script i had to memorize as much as i could got it there you know and by the powers invested in me i now announce you you know you may kiss you know yeah and i did my first wedding so now okay that people in the chat you're now open that as you can see right there chat i i'm i'm licensed i'm an ordained minister and uh i'm a brother of the cloth as i like to call it i'm a brother of the cloth now so anybody you know anybody getting married and you need me to officiate your wedding officiate officiate yes the actual process of is a you officiate it right right okay officiate there it is but but listen anybody anybody's looking for someone to officiate their wedding uh their nuptials or whatever you want to renew your vows i can do that as well um also i i extend my services also for divorces as well you know so i'm here you know how to reach me i'll have a link in my bio by tomorrow and um yeah i'm excited isn't the rodeo going on in houston yeah yeah rodeo rodeo going on yeah rodeo going on i know well it's it's it's storm and raining it's storm and raining i ain't go there it's raining yeah it's raining bad huh Yeah, yeah.
42:13Chad Johnson:Nah, nah. Rodeo and rain don't go together. Mud? No, that mud, yeah. Yeah. It was raining bad. But, hey, I don't - But I can imagine.
42:21Shannon Sharpe:They had some boots on. Bootsin'.
42:24Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sure they out there. I'm sure they out there. Yeah, but I said my baby with me, so I wouldn't pay no mind. Yeah, yeah. I don't blame you.
42:32Shannon Sharpe:I don't blame you.
42:33Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Ain't nothing to look at. Hey, hey, right here. Tunnel vision, huh?
42:37Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
42:38Chad Johnson:You know, like a horse in the Kentucky Derby. I have my blabber.
42:41Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
42:41Chad Johnson:I only see one way, straight ahead. That's it.

47:01Shannon Sharpe:The Ravens acquired Max Crosby from the Raiders in exchange for two first-round picks, one in 2026, the 14th pick in 2026, and a first-round pick in 2027. Crosby, 28, a five-time Pro Bowler, will be a game-changer for the Ravens. He has 69.5 sacks since 2019. It's more than double that anyone has produced for Baltimore over that span. Nnamdi Matabuik leads the Ravens with 30 sacks since 2019. Oh, Joe, do you believe this makes the Ravens contenders?
47:38Chad Johnson:You know what? I want you to look back to, I don't have the stats in front of me. When it comes to the Baltimore Ravens defense, since Lamar has gotten there, they've had some very good defenses. They've had some very good defenses. They've been normally ranked high. With the addition of Matt Crosby, He does improve them defensively. Yes, he does. Does it make them contenders? I can't say because I think the onus in them being contenders is really based on what Lamar Jackson does in the postseason. I think because they've had great defenses before and offensively, they sputtered when it mattered most, you know, collectively.
48:23Chad Johnson:Yes. Sometimes.
48:24Shannon Sharpe:Don't mention that. Let's not talk about that. Let's focus on the defense. I don't want the chat jumping in there talking about we jumping on this right here. Let's talk about the defense. Crosby, a lot of teams were stepping up. You hear some teams were off in the first and a second, maybe a first, a second, and another pick. Maybe the first this year and the second and a later round pick. But it was the Ravens. And the thing is, hold on. We saw Micah went for two first rounders and a player.
48:55Chad Johnson:Yes. Not do you want it, but don't you? Yeah, but Micah's a little bit younger now. Not a little bit, maybe a lot. 26 to 28. Okay, I mean, hey, that means a lot, especially when it comes to business, especially when it comes to picks, especially when it comes to money. Oh, you know how to own this thing. Yes, I do. To us, oh, what's two years? But to them, it's a lot because they think about miles, wear and tear, all this stuff. But Max Crosby brings something that the Ravens need very badly, especially on the defensive end of the ball and now I feel bad for my quarterback because my quarterback he has to deal with twice a year he has to deal with Miles Garrett twice a year he has to deal with TJ Watt now you bring this animal one of the better defensive players in the NFL, one of the better defensive ends in the NFL to the goddamn Ravens now you got to deal with
49:56Shannon Sharpe:like come on man come on i think the thing that i like most uh so much about max cross but that he's a two-way player yes he's the run and he plays the pass yes uh he kind of reminds me he doesn't rush the quarterback like this guy does but i think he played the run better than this guy's done right jared allen ah jared allen started with kansas city and then he goes goes to uh minnesota minnesota mr calf rope him mr calf rope him on every sack he kind of reminds It kind of reminds me of him. Right. But he plays the run. Very well. Better than Allen. But he can't get after the quarterback. Allen would.
50:31Shannon Sharpe:People don't. Allen could just flat out get after your quarterback.
50:36Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited for the Ravens. This is going to be good for them. So, I don't know.
50:44Shannon Sharpe:I don't know what you guys are doing. Help me understand, you guys. Okay. You had Trey Hendricks. Somebody said, you know what, they tried to make a trade for him last year. you hold on to him. Now you let him go for it and say you get nothing. Nothing for him. Yeah. Yeah. What sense does that make, Ocho? If you know you're not going to sign him back, Ocho, you got to let him go. Right. I've got to trade you and get something for you. Yeah. Yeah. While there's value there. Yes! You let the man walk and his value wasn't going to get any higher. He's coming off back-to-back 17 sacks and 17 and a half sacks.
51:21Shannon Sharpe:Nice. Back-to-back. Back-to-back. He's all pro. So his value is not going to get any higher. You know you're not about to give this man three, four years at$100 plus million. That's not what you guys do, especially at the age of 30, 31. That's not what you do, Cincinnati. But you let it walk out the door and now you get nothing for it?
51:40Chad Johnson:Yeah.
51:41Shannon Sharpe:That's crazy.
51:42Chad Johnson:That's crazy. I don't understand. And I don't want to rush the judgment just yet. Draft is coming. Off-season acquisitions, you know, trades still are going to be made. So I'm curious to see what moves you.
51:55Shannon Sharpe:That ain't what y 'all do, Ocho.
51:57Chad Johnson:When's the last time the Bengals traded? Hey, listen. Hey, number nine put that pressure on. Yes. It's not about what we've never done. It's about what we need to do because number nine already sent that message out loud and clear last year.
52:13Shannon Sharpe:Loud and clear. I know. But I tell you what. You know the Browns, Katie Blackburn, as well as anybody.
52:23Chad Johnson:they do what the hell they want to do they do they do but they never had is they never had a quarterback that's this young who comes from winning everywhere he's been he's done one thing and he's won and he wants to make sure that winning is the same exact thing that they want to do in cincinnati no they want to make money you need to continue to make certain moves that that that aligns exactly with what Joe Burrow believes in.
52:54Shannon Sharpe:The Bengals want to make money. Yeah. I think... My thing is, if I can make money by spending as little as possible, I choose that. Yeah. You got to spend money to be competitive. Yeah, you do. You just do. You do. Because guess what? The other teams around you are spending money. and it's already hard to get people you got to pay to get someone to come to you in free agency you've got to overpay because to get them to leave that situation that they're currently in where they built up they built they're probably ingratiating themselves in the community you know the wife is probably there the kids are there so things are you know you you already ingratiated yourself in that surrounding so to get me to leave that and to uproot my family, you're gonna have to pay a premium.
53:48Shannon Sharpe:And, infrangeously, everybody knows you're gonna have to overpay. You just do.
53:59Shannon Sharpe:That's why, why you think a beer costs$40 at a damn game? Where else you gonna get it from? You can't run to the local corner store or the package shop and get it. Yeah, you right. You want a beer to watch the game? Okay, well pay$40.
54:16damn
54:17Shannon Sharpe:so in free agency these guys know well if you want me to come you got to pay because guess what if you don't write down the road will
54:27Chad Johnson:yeah absolutely we need help bad though
54:33Shannon Sharpe:you do over the last five years Ocho Baltimore has blown an NFL worst 16 leads in the final five minutes of game that's five more than any other team. Last season, the Ravens failed to hold two double-digit leads in the fourth quarter. Remember? Buffalo and New England. Yes. Now, one, look, that one against New England when Derrick Henry's running the football, and all of a sudden, you know, we got a system in place. You know, Derrick, it was the other. They took him out, stopped handing the ball all to him.
55:10Chad Johnson:I don't know what that was about. still don't make any sense to me. Makes no sense to me at all.
55:22But, hey, what do we know, Ocho?
55:25Shannon Sharpe:What do we know? And then, lo and behold, they go out there and then they play Green Bay, and they just hand the ball to him, and he just run wild. Went crazy. The second leading rusher, think about this, the second leading rusher.
55:38Chad Johnson:Wow.
55:39Shannon Sharpe:When you try, that's what you do, Ocho. You go double tight and you say, guess what? In the four-minute drill, y 'all not getting the ball back. All right, D, hey, this is why we got you. And you go put a scat back in there and you got a 250-pound bulldozer? Yeah.
55:59Chad Johnson:That nobody, hold on, a 250-pound bulldozer that nobody wants to tackle. No. Once he gets those pads going north, man, it's hell to deal with. Don't nobody want none of that.
56:14Shannon Sharpe:it's uh i don't get it and like i said everything is not for me to get chat and i'm sure but i think the thing is chat i don't think you guys got it either i don't want to hear nothing because i'm trying to win a game right sometimes when you're trying to win a game you're like okay i know how it's supposed to go i know it's supposed to be your time up but your time will come next week but it ain't finna come now right because derrick henry finna get this ball that's who's gonna get the ball and that's what that's why that's why we tore his contract up and gave him more coming off the first season that he had here he had over 1900 yards and so and he came back this year and almost had 1600 so derrick henry had plenty of tread on the tire i ain't worried about look here i don't care if you don't play but another year i'm gonna run derrick henry and he gonna keep the clock moving y 'all not getting the ball back Patriots and if you do get it back you're going to have so little time you ain't going to be able to do ish with it
57:12Shannon Sharpe:so hopefully they don't run into that problem again but I like the move I like them I like this move that the Ravens says look they're making a commitment to Lamar they're going to give him big time money he'll be the highest paid quarterback in the NFL I don't think they're done no the Ravens if you go back and study the Ravens they normally have success when they go get a player if you look at for example now this is a trade so this might be people chat you might stay with me you might look at this a little different right but if you go back and study them 99 they're gonna get what 90 I think it's 98 99 they're gonna get Michael McQuarrie and Rod Wilson in 2000 they're gonna get me and Sam Adams you see you get Derek You get a Steve Smith.
58:04Shannon Sharpe:You see what that you see the success that they have when they come. If the Ravens come get you. They've done their homework and they know. And the thing that I love that I love most about them. Be who you are. We don't need you to come here. We already know what we get. Right. Be that you talk is talk ish. If you quiet, stay quiet. All we want you to do is play hard. That's it. Yeah, is it.
58:28Chad Johnson:And you know, everyone, everyone, you know, Everyone that they've went and got has had success. Everyone they've gotten. And listen, going to get max, they're going to have success. He makes – Roquan, remember they made the trade for Ro? Yeah. They – I said they need to impact players. You got one at each level. Now, obviously, Nate Wiggins, he's going to improve from last year. I sure hope so. He's going to improve from last year. I believe in him. I like Young Bull. He's nice. You got Roquan, and now you have an impact player on your line. So you got – oh, I didn't even mention Kyle Hamilton.
59:06Chad Johnson:I didn't even mention Kyle Hamilton, the best safety in the game right now. So you kind of set defensively with leaders at each level.
59:18Shannon Sharpe:Well, if Matabouic can come back and play at the level that we're used to seeing him play at, and you got Crosby, I still would like – hey, I'm going to boast. I'm going to try to get me a corner. I don't know what's going to happen with Marlon Humphrey. I don't know if he's aligned for a restructure. I don't know if he's aligned to get released. I don't know. But they need corners. They need corners. And I hope you're right. I just hope you're right that Nate Wiggins is going to get better. Because all I know, their two corners are top five in yards allowed.
59:52Chad Johnson:Well, hell, Unc, if you got them having to cover for 20 seconds, shoot me and you would be in the top five of y 'all's allowed too you know so they they got some help they got some help because max max don't give max got a mode on him boy oh yeah man
1:00:09Shannon Sharpe:energize the bunny oh yeah but i think i i if i'm the ravens look and i know look i know eric da costa is running this but don't think ozzie still don't have a presence in that building because he does. But when you look, they need a receiver. They need another receiver. I told you who going there.
1:00:31Chad Johnson:And you better go get a right guard, too. I told you who going there. Who? Steph going to end up in Baltimore. Listen, we was on the show, I don't know, a few episodes ago. I said Max Crosby was coming to the Ravens. like I'm every time I say a player's going somewhere it happens I'm gonna say it here and people might not like it huh AJ Brown is gonna end up with the New England Patriots
1:01:00Shannon Sharpe:I'm telling you ahead of time I just don't I look I like Steph but Ocho they need more they don't need another possession receiver they need a stud go get your stud hold on all the
1:01:13Chad Johnson:studs are taking. No disrespect. All the studs are taking. What stud can you go and get that's going to come in and change everything right away?
1:01:22Shannon Sharpe:I think there will be some receivers available that will give them more bang for their buck than Stephon. That's all I'm saying.
1:01:30Chad Johnson:You know Stephon just coming off a thousand-yard season, huh?
1:01:34Shannon Sharpe:Nah, I don't think he had quite a thousand, but...
1:01:37Chad Johnson:Oh, he had a thousand, huh?
1:01:38Shannon Sharpe:He had a thousand?
1:01:39Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:01:42Shannon Sharpe:I just don't know, Ocho. I just think you could do better.
1:01:45Chad Johnson:Okay, okay. I'm just looking at the landscape of what's available. You said a stud. All the studs are number ones. They're not available. Who's going to come in there and just instantly be a catch?
1:02:02Shannon Sharpe:If I catch a thousand thirteen yards and four touchdowns.
1:02:05Chad Johnson:Yeah. You know, over there in New England, it's by committee. Every week is a different receiver. you never know who it's going to be.
1:02:17Shannon Sharpe:Well, I think the thing is, I mean, I think the Patriots are trying to get a first round pick for AJ. And I don't know if they're going to be able to get that. They're going to probably have to settle for a second.
1:02:36Chad Johnson:What you thinking? AJ is worthy of a first round pick on. A.J. Brown and what he's going to bring to your team and how he's going to help them offensively and what he can do. He can stretch the field when need be. He can run short routes. He can run intermediate routes. He's hell to deal with.
1:03:01Chad Johnson:You have a great running game. He's worth that first round pick.
1:03:09Chad Johnson:Like that that's just me
1:03:18Chad Johnson:You got that you got to have a stud you can't you can't do it what you have right now
1:03:21Shannon Sharpe:I think the thing is that okay Where who new england? Because okay, they got So that'd be bro. AJ would be one and then you got booty booty Is Matt Collins coming back? Matt Collins.
1:03:42Chad Johnson:Douglas. Douglas. That'd be a nice little squad, Matt.
1:03:53Shannon Sharpe:How old is AJ?
1:03:56Chad Johnson:Oh, that's a good question. I'm not sure.
1:04:00Shannon Sharpe:Because you know, Ocho, you start pushing that 30, the price start dropping quick.
1:04:04Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah, yeah.
1:04:05Shannon Sharpe:they don't they don't they don't play about that they don't man play about that they like man like i'm like damn 30.
1:04:13Chad Johnson:mm-hmm guys will play guys take better care of themselves now they're they're more
1:04:19Shannon Sharpe:conditioned guys i mean you might have to readjust that you might have to look at it like 33 35 ocho
1:04:26Chad Johnson:yeah yeah i mean he's 28. he's 28.
1:04:29Shannon Sharpe:okay but now he good then she yeah he good
1:04:36Shannon Sharpe:uh here's max crosby goodbye to the raiders um ever since i've been here man i've had one goal and one mission that's become the best version of myself and help bring a championship back to the raider organization and um i feel like i left you know everything i had on the table um for this team i've given my heart and soul and i feel like i let y 'all down man ever since day one, I've wanted to create and build a winner with the Raiders.
1:05:12Chad Johnson:I like that. When you think about the Las Vegas Raiders, I mean, they are Mac Crosby. Mac Crosby is their identity. He has been since he showed up. He always has been. And he said it just right. He left it all out on the field. He did everything he has with his play. Forget the words that he just said he showed it with his plate week in and week out but again it's a team
1:05:39Shannon Sharpe:game yes so he can't do it by himself no um he is the perfect raider uh he was the perfect raider al would have loved him oh yeah he's definitely al's type of a guy but they don't have anything. Now, it's being reported that they have$100 plus million in cap space.
1:06:07Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah.
1:06:08Shannon Sharpe:And two first round picks this year. Remember they traded Jacoby Myers. So I don't know what they got from Jacksonville. What did they get a third or a fourth for Jacoby Myers?
1:06:20Chad Johnson:Okay, I can't remember exactly. But they can make some good moves. Whatever move they do, they got to be the right moves not just any moves they got to be what he got it got to be franchise changing altering moves yeah guys we know max wanted out it's being reported but
1:06:41Shannon Sharpe:everybody talking about y 'all just keep trying to put word the man said he what's he supposed to say but insiders that had spoken to max crosby said he said he was done yeah but like like oh he said this he said that what is he supposed to say when he's currently still on the roster the last thing I'm gonna have y 'all do is to try to void my contract or to try to get me for conduct detrimental to the team of course I'm going to say all the right
1:07:09Chad Johnson:things yeah privately
1:07:11Shannon Sharpe:I've let it be known I want to be dealt yeah
1:07:16Chad Johnson:I want
1:07:17Shannon Sharpe:a chance I mean it played it perfectly I've had a conversation with Max clearly we want him here
1:07:24Chad Johnson:but we want those two first round picks for him though absolutely so i don't i don't have a
1:07:29Shannon Sharpe:problem with it uh if you want to win now they could turn the thing around quickly kind of a lot of houston texans it's not that you have those picks who do you select with those picks yes well if you get you a cj stroud or you get you a will anderson jr you get you a nico Collins you start drafting guys like that it won't take you long at all it won't take you long now you mess around and get you a Trey Lance
1:08:04yeah hey
1:08:05Chad Johnson:we know where the first pick is going they're not trading back out of that they're not giving that to somebody else it's going to be
1:08:11Shannon Sharpe:what do they got so they got 1 and 14
1:08:15Chad Johnson:Mendoza
1:08:16Shannon Sharpe:and i got the next round if there's somebody that you love on show hey you got all those picks man lay get good yeah you need some receivers he gonna need somebody to throw the ball to
1:08:29Chad Johnson:yeah somebody throw the damn ball to well you know you know what i've said but who i who i who i wanted to go to vegas i don't want to oh yeah i don't want to piss off my cow My Cowboy fans, you know I love y 'all. But, you know. Hey, and you know, I have a question. Hey, Chad, do you see any scenario, right? Think about this. It could be crazy. Could you see any scenario? Pick going to the Raiders. Maybe CD going to the Raiders. Or just those two not being together in Dallas. Do you see any scenario where that can happen?
1:09:09Shannon Sharpe:No. Chad, what do you think? I think Jerry loves CD.
1:09:14Chad Johnson:Right, right. He's the one that's recommended.
1:09:18Shannon Sharpe:He wanted CD. CD wanted DeAndre Hopkins. He wanted 10.
1:09:22Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:09:23Shannon Sharpe:He was a D-Hop fan. It was Jared said, nah, nah, we really want you to have 88. Right, right. Because that signifies Drew Pearson and Dez Bryant and Irvin. Yes. And now you.
1:09:34Chad Johnson:Yeah. You know how this business is, huh? You know how this business is. So I've been thinking about scenarios that can happen. And most of the time they'll pull, they'll, they'll pull the wool over your eyes and do something strange that it might not make sense to us, but it makes sense to them because they're thinking long-term.
1:09:53Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Not now. Oh, Joe, the biggest reaction of the trade came from Jamar Chase. Let's listen to what Chase had to say.
1:10:03Chad Johnson:Joe just fucking texted me. Ravens traded for Max Crosby. No fucking shit No fucking shit No fucking shit brother I'm fucking highly pissed right now Oh my god Oh my god Fucking How the fuck do we let this nigga go to the fucking division bro Oh my god bro Why the fuck do we let this nigga go to the division bro
1:10:41Chad Johnson:Oh my god And Jamar Chase's reaction Alone Let's you know Who Crosby is Yeah Respect he has from other players
1:10:56Shannon Sharpe:Oh Joe you remember we had him on the show At the Super Bowl And he said Jeffrey Simmons And Max Crosby Yeah, he said if we get both of them one of them give us let us get one of them We like both of them, but if we get one of them.
1:11:12Chad Johnson:Yeah, it makes a difference
1:11:14Shannon Sharpe:I don't know if if Simmons is available. I don't think so, but you never know Ocho Hey, but the question is what y 'all willing to give up for it. I mean You have to be a you're gonna give a first-round pick. He wanted to be the best he tackle the football.
1:11:30Chad Johnson:Yeah
1:11:31Shannon Sharpe:I mean, oh, you think you about to get what you think you about to get it.
1:11:34Chad Johnson:Yeah
1:11:34Shannon Sharpe:For a comic book and an apple?
1:11:36Chad Johnson:No, it's out of him and Chris Jones. Yeah. But, you know, the Titans are building something special over there. So I doubt he is their identity, similar to how Matt Crosby was with the Las Vegas Raiders. I agree. The Tennessee Titans, Jeffrey Simmons, is the Tennessee Titans. He's that leader. He's that captain. He's that face of that franchise, even though they have a quarterback that they just drafted in Cam Ward, you know, with the first pick. When you think Tennessee Titans, the first thing you think is Jeffrey Simmons. I just don't see him going anywhere. He said it multiple times, but you never know.
1:12:13Shannon Sharpe:You don't. You don't. Somebody might make them an offer they can't refuse. Yeah, and that's the only time that it happened. Yeah. But people just let you just have their best players. No, absolutely. You would have to give up some compensation. Draft picks, high, first-rounders. Yes.
1:13:03Shannon Sharpe:Lenovo, Lenovo.
