Please drink responsibly and stay safe. The game tonight, the Spurs beat the Pistons, the two hottest teams playing right now. San Antonio Spurs beat the Detroit Pistons on the road by the score of 114 to 103.

4:33Shannon Sharpe:Wimby was everywhere tonight, 21 points, 17 rebounds, six blocks. He was sensational because he forced the Pistons to shoot 38 % from the floor, 19 % from the three. Stephon Castle has 16 points and 11 assists, all the while holding Cade Cunningham to 5 of 26 shooting. The Spurs have started their annual rodeo road trip 5-0 for the first time since 2012. And now they are 41-16. 1-14 to 1-0-3 over the Pistons. Joe, you watched this ball game and you saw me. This is a very young San Antonio team, but they play way, way beyond their years. They look good.

5:13Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah. They look real good because, you know, they kind of top heavy, but they got some great complementary pieces. And you look at Vassal and Champagny. Those guys pretty much won the game. I mean, Vassal started off the game. He was cooking with grease. You hear me? He was hot as fish grease. I think because Wimby, Fox, and even little Dylan Brooks, I mean, not Dylan Brooks, Dylan Harper, Those guys put so much pressure, you know, on the defense, bro. And Wimby anchors the defense, Anke Ocho. Even if he don't block your shot, he's going to alter it. You know his tall ass back there. Oh, man.

5:52Chad Johnson:But they got so many weapons. They got so many guys who can beat you. You don't know on a night-to-night basis who's going to explode for 25, 30 points because it may be somebody who you ain't really game playing for. And for Detroit, K can't go five for 26. You know, he Detroit depends on him so much. And this is, you know, part of the MVP talk that we've been talking about. Right. He can't afford to have off nights like this, Ocho, and expect for the Pistons to pick him up and they win. It's just not possible. So the good thing about all this, the Pistons won't have to see them unless they make it to the finals.

6:31Chad Johnson:But because thank God.

6:37Shannon Sharpe:You're right, Joe. You look at Tobias Harris, 1 of 6. Duncan Robinson, 5 of 15. 3 of 11 from 3. Cade Cunningham was 5 of 26. 2 of 9 from 3. Ronald Holland came in. He had his first three shots and then for like to go 2 of 10 for the rest of the game. 1 of 6 from 3. Javante Gray, 0 of 5. Dennis Jenkins, 3 of 10. and you look at, like I said, Champagny and Wimby and Darren Fox, Vassal. Remember, guys, they got rid of Soshan because they couldn't get him any minutes. Right.

7:10Chad Johnson:Yeah.

7:11Shannon Sharpe:They had to let him go. Calvin's doing what he does. They moved. Harrison Barnes was once in the starting lineup. Now he's coming off the bench. Kelton Johnson comes off the bench. Dylan Harper, who's what, a top three pick, comes off the bench.

7:24Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah.

7:24Shannon Sharpe:So this team is loaded. and like you said, Joe, on a given night, you really don't know who can light you up. You know Wimby can go get your 30-20. You know Stephon Castle, he had a 30-point triple-double a couple of nights ago. Champagny. But this is a good team, man. They play defense. They play hard because they can funnel everything to Wimby. Man. You know Wimby back there. Oh, yeah. He might not block it, but he damn sure gonna alter it.

7:53Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah. And another thing, Ocho, it ain't but a handful of teams in the NBA who extend their pressure to pick up defensively. San Antonio is one. Detroit can do it. OKC.

8:08Iso Joe Johnson:Austin does it too.

8:10Chad Johnson:And Indiana. And so this was a good defensive game. I thought it was physical. I thought Duren played great against Wimby. Ocho, he was physical with him early, took his legs from him a little bit. You know, because I thought Wimby kind of got off to such a slow start. But I thought Duran, energy, effort, and just his physicality alone is what kept him in the game. But they got to have K play a lot better than this.

8:37Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah, I think – obviously, I watched the game, Uncle Joe, and obviously Wimby, Vassal look very good, Castle. Wimby Yama's going to do what he does. But Detroit, Detroit is a good team, right? They played very well on both ends of the court. But Cade Cunningham, based on the comments he just made a few days ago, not too long ago, about him being the best. American player? Yeah, most definitely. So games like tonight, it has to show up. When you're playing against the cream of the crop when it comes to teams, like the Spurs. So, I mean, obviously, you won't always have games like this. But games like this where we need you to show up and be at your best, this is the time to show up.

9:17Chad Johnson:Yeah, I agree. I agree with you, Joe. I don't know if they have another guy that I can consistently,

9:25Shannon Sharpe:if K get held down, who can I really count on to go give me that production? Everybody else, I mean, you look at OKC, if you shut off Shea, you got J-Dub, you got Chet. So you got other options. Okay, you say I want to shut down Jokic, now you got to deal with Jamal Murray. Jamal Murray, yeah. So other teams have guys that, okay, let's just take the Rockets. Now, Shingun hadn't been playing well of late, but you know he's a walking 2020 guy. Oh, yeah. If you say, I'm going to take KD away, Shingun can punish you. So I'm looking at Detroit. I'm not really counting on Tobias Harris because I've seen enough of him.

10:07Shannon Sharpe:I saw him in Philly. And when Joel Embiid couldn't get it going, I just don't have a whole lot of faith in Tobias.

10:17Chad Johnson:He going to have to step up and give him something. He the veteran president on the team. He done been there. He's played on some pretty good playoff teams. I think when the postseason comes, he going to have to win them a game or two in a series in order for them to advance because you put so much on K. K going to have to play like D-Wade played in when was that?

10:37Iso Joe Johnson:In the final series?

10:40Chad Johnson:He had his 30 photo. Yo, you have his 34. Ocho, in order for the Pistons to win, that's what K is going to have to do. He's going to have to take over. He's going to have to have an out-of-body experience to the point to where he's consistently carrying his team night in and night out. I think that's going to be the hardest part about them advancing in the postseason because other teams are going to gear up to stop him.

11:01Shannon Sharpe:Yes. And, you know, he'll take some difficult shots. He's not the most efficient. We saw the other night, Joe, where he got up, what, he got up 34 shots against the Knicks. Now, he won 42, what, 42, 13, and 8. And so when you're inefficient and you win, people tend to look past it. But when you go 5 or 26 and you lose, they're like, well, damn. Well, he's kind of – this is kind of his MO. Yeah. He's not the most efficient. And I get it. I get it. He's going to take some difficult shots. You ask him to do a lot because he's an outstanding defender. But I'm going to go back to Tobias Harris. The best thing that ever happened to Tobias Harris is that he got a chance to play with Ben Simmons because Ben Simmons caught all the flack while Tobias was on a max contract and wasn't getting criticized at all because everything is like Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons.

11:53Shannon Sharpe:And Tobias Harris flew up out of the radar. You thought he was a B-52. He was flying up out of the radar because he went undetected. And then you looked up like, hold on. How Tobias only has six points?

12:04Chad Johnson:Right, right.

12:05Shannon Sharpe:And we're killing Joel Embiid. We're killing Ben Simmons. but he's a max player too.

12:10Chad Johnson:Yeah, I agree. I agree. I agree. He got to take some blame for that. But I think things are a little different for him. I think he knows. He should know anyway in order for them to even have a chance, Ochoa, to make it to the finals. He got to get them a consistent production night in and night out. It's just not possible. They're not offensively heavily structured to put up 130, 140 points a night. No. They're not constructed like that. So I expect Cade, obviously, to play a lot better, and I expect him to get a little help from these other guys. I think Duren has been playing awesome.

12:45Shannon Sharpe:He was. I mean, you know, he's an all-star. He played really good in the all-star game. He was on the Stars that ended up beating the Stripes, and they won the all-star. So I'm counting on Duren to give me a double-double. I'm at least counting on him to give me somewhere between 16 and 20 and somewhere between 10 and 15 rebounds. I'm penciling that in, Ochoa. Oh, yeah. I ain't got no whiteout, and I ain't got no eraser. So it's an ink. It's a sharpie. It ain't going nowhere. So I got that down. So JB goes to him and says, son, this is what I expect of you. 16 to 20, 10 to 15. K, I need you to be an all-NBA player.

13:26Shannon Sharpe:I need you to be. You say you're the best American player. You got to show me. You say in the MVP discussion.

13:31Iso Joe Johnson:You got to show me.

13:32Shannon Sharpe:You got to. Yeah. And you've got to take it to another level because there's levels to this. If you really look at the best NBA players, look at their playoff averages compared to their regular season average. I agree. They elevate.

13:46Chad Johnson:Yeah, got to.

Read the full transcript

13:47Shannon Sharpe:You go look at Jordan. You go look at Kobe. You look at LeBron. Yeah. You look at Jamal Murray. Jamal Murray is out of this galaxy. Yeah, yeah. You're right. You're right. But that's because that's when you make your name. That's when you grow, become that iconic and grow that legacy is what you do come postseason.

14:07Chad Johnson:Right.

14:08Shannon Sharpe:And if they're going to be what they think they can be in Detroit, because who's in their way? If you really think about who's in their way, the Knicks, maybe the Celtics?

14:18Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Orlando's kind of up and down.

14:25Shannon Sharpe:Toronto is kind of hit or miss. You know, I don't know what B.I. I'm going to get on a consistent basis. Scottie Barnes on a consistent basis. Right. So right now, if you make me pick, I say probably the Knicks-Celtics. But Detroit's going to have to – they're going to have to play a little bit. I mean, you can't shoot 38 % and 19 % from the three and expect to beat an upper echelon team. Yeah, no. That's not going to happen.

14:47Chad Johnson:I think Cade, he'll take blame for this. You know, just being a leader, Uncle Ocho, you know, it's just some games you got to raise your hand and be like, hey, my bad tonight.

14:56Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Because – But we forgot about the Cavs. the Cavs, the Cavs going to have something to say about it too. With Beard, Donovan, yeah, those two big twin towers, Evan Mobley and Jared Allen. So they're going to have a little something to say. They got, you know, Merrill can shoot the ball from three. He can get hot and he can shoot you out the building in a hurry.

15:16Chad Johnson:They just came off like a seven game win streak. They lost the other night, but they have been playing pretty good ball. But back to K, Unk, and Ocho, I'm not necessarily too worried about his inefficiencies. I need him to be aggressive. He got to be aggressive. You remember how AI was when he was playing for Philly? He got to look to score the ball. He has to take volume shots because everything is going to be catered to stop him and he's got to, you know, this is what superstars do, man. They show up when time is needed. He got to be ultra aggressive.

15:50Shannon Sharpe:But here's the thing. Joe, if he say like, if he can be somewhere between like 44 and 47%. He started getting down to that 41, 40, 39, 38. They got no chance.

16:02Chad Johnson:Yeah, no, no, no.

16:03Shannon Sharpe:They got no chance because a lot of those shots, they're going to get runouts.

16:06Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah.

16:07Shannon Sharpe:So that's what you got to be careful because some of those shots, they're going to be air balls, they're going to throw the long pass, they're going to throw a touchdown pass, or he's going to hit the back iron and the next thing you know, two dribbles and a layup at the other end. So that's my only concern. As long as he's not in the low 40s, dip down to the 30s, I think they have an excellent chance of winning. I agree.

16:27Chad Johnson:I think what hurt him tonight, he got off to a bad start. He's like on an 8, 1 for 9 to start the game. Hey, when you get off to a start like that, in order to get back to 50%, boy, you got to start cooking. You got to make your next 8 shot. You make your next 8 shot, now you're at 50%. You got to start cooking. That's like one of the worst feelings because you try to get it all back at once, Uncle Ocho, but you don't have to take your time and just let it come to you. It's just a part of the game.

16:53Shannon Sharpe:Because the great player, what you say, Joe? Shoot or shoot. Yeah, shoot or shoot. And you believe the next one's going in. There you go. You're like, damn, man, somebody take the lead off the basket. The hell? Boom, boom. And you get good look through that thing. I mean, he had one three. It was all the way down and just came out.

17:12Chad Johnson:Oh, man.

17:13Shannon Sharpe:Oh, man.

17:14Chad Johnson:I know that feeling, too, boy. That's an ugly feeling. It's tough. It's a tough one.

17:19Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, that's like us. You know, you struggle a couple. Yeah. You drop one or two early.

17:24Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah.

17:25Shannon Sharpe:Then you fight the ball.

17:27Iso Joe Johnson:It beat you up.

17:28Shannon Sharpe:Man, I done caught the ball like six times. That's only one catch.

17:32Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah.

17:33Shannon Sharpe:You know, you bobbing up like, ooh, all over here. Yeah.

17:37Iso Joe Johnson:I know exactly what it feel like all so well.

17:40Chad Johnson:Yeah.

19:31Shannon Sharpe:LeBron James spoke about his relationship with Jalen Brown. Let's take a listen. This was after yesterday's game, guys. Uh-oh. I think he just used the motivation of a lot of people just saying that they're going to have a down year because of, you know, obviously JT being out, you know, them losing Drew, Al, you know, leaves, Prazingis leaves their whole championship team pretty much is kind of revamped. And he uses his motivation to keep them afloat. They're playing great basketball. And it's because of him and the rest of those guys, he's taking that next step. You know, our relationship has been, you know, pretty respectful.

20:02Shannon Sharpe:You know, besides the shit he said about Bronny at Summer League, but other than that, you know, we've been all right, you know.

20:09Chad Johnson:Would you guys be able to get past that?

20:12Shannon Sharpe:You know, we'll be all right. We'll be all right. Yeah, we'll be all right. I think he went on social media and said something about it. It's all good, but Ronnie got a long way to go, but that's another story. But the kid, I mean, listen, JB is doing shit. He's playing great basketball, man. And you can't even, you can't afford this. I don't, you know, this whole MVP thing. I don't understand why his name is not getting talked about some as well. Like, nobody gave them a shot to start the season. And he's having, what, 30? Yeah. Just under 30? Yeah, just under 30? 30 by 30. Yeah, it's a popularity contest sometimes.

20:44Mm-hmm.

20:47Iso Joe Johnson:That's dope. That's dope. That's how you answer a question as a true professional, despite some of the things that might have been said about your son. Hey, our relationship is respectful. I mean, most of the time, it's hard to gauge how someone truly feels, especially when the camera's in front of him, because anything LeBron says, it catches fire. So he has to be careful and he's very media savvy in the way he answers questions. So based on what we just saw and what we just heard, you would think it was no problems at all. Despite some of the things that JB might have said. Hell, when it comes to basketball, yes, he's playing well.

21:20Iso Joe Johnson:What is he supposed to say? He's playing bad because he's not. Even with JT out, he's the reason why the Celtics are doing as well as they're doing with the supporting cast that JB has. Now, even with the stuff he said about my son, that's a whole different question.

21:35Shannon Sharpe:that he's not going to answer truthfully on camera. Well, I mean, he kind of got into it. But this is what I don't understand. Joe, help me understand. Joe, you got kids. Ocho, you got kids. I got kids. Yeah. Let's just say you got your son. He a mess up. If a co-worker says something about it, you're going to feel some type of weight.

21:54Chad Johnson:Absolutely.

21:55Shannon Sharpe:I don't know why people can't get that through their head. Right. At the end of the day, whether or not LeBron James is good enough to be in the NBA, that's still his son. So imagine a lot of you guys out there got effort for sons and daughters. When somebody says something about them, you feel some type of way. Yes or no. It's a simple yes or a simple no. Because I know I would feel some type of way if somebody said something about my kid. That's still his kid. Absolutely. I don't know why people, it's true. It could be true. But if somebody says something about your kid, are you going to be okay with that?

22:32Shannon Sharpe:or you're going to be saying, hey, they told the truth. Your son go to jail. Your son get popped. Your daughter get pregnant as a teenager. You okay if a co-worker, someone you know, says something about your child. Are you going to be okay? No. But because it's LeBron James, y 'all like, oh, he blotted out of proportion. At the end of the day, the only condition, unconditional love, is a parent and a child.

22:56Chad Johnson:Yeah.

22:57Shannon Sharpe:Because you love your child regardless. It doesn't come. well, in a relationship well, as long as you take care of me as long as you don't cheat on me, as long as you don't believe and I get it but a parent and a child is a different type of relationship than a relationship with someone that you start outside and I don't know why people can't understand that

23:19Iso Joe Johnson:and also Joe, before you go I need people to also understand now even though it is your child, once you get and you reach that pinnacle of being an NBA player, sometimes even your peers were criticized, not just your father, but hell, your son can get it too. It gets to that point to where now you're fair game because now you're at the upper echelon of the childhood dream, the NBA. Therefore, the criticizing is going to come not just from fans, hell, not just from media, but from your peers as well.

23:51Shannon Sharpe:Let me ask you a question, Ocho. How old can your kids be before someone can criticize them and you be cool with it. Oh, never that, huh?

24:01Iso Joe Johnson:You know that. Never that. Never that. No, but I'm, no, no, no, wait, listen. No, that's not what I was saying. I was saying, understand what comes with the territory once you have that of said being in the NBA. That's all. I don't, I don't, I don't condone it at all.

24:14Shannon Sharpe:Joe, even though, even though Ocho, it comes with the territory and we know.

24:17Chad Johnson:Yeah.

24:18Shannon Sharpe:It's the same thing. It's the same. And people are like, well, you said this about Russ. I've never played the music about Russ. I talked about Russ, about the ill-advised shots, the costly turnover, the matador defense, and people try to compare me saying Russ was not playing good basketball, Russ isn't the same player that he once was, as the guy that sent Russ' wife and talked about Russ in the same breath. How is that the same? It's not. All I'm saying is that, look, yes, LeBron knows that there's some criticism that's going to come. They criticize LeBron and he just got more points than anybody in the history of the game.

24:55Shannon Sharpe:He's about to play the most games in the history of the game. He has the fifth most assists. Nobody that's in the top 10, nobody's in the top 20 comes close to LeBron as far as assists. He understands that. But at the end of the day, there's still a place that's my child. And I'm going to protect my child. It is what it is. And it's us that somehow, Ocho, I thought that's what we do. See, we're the only ones that feel bad about helping our child get ahead in life.

25:29Iso Joe Johnson:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

25:30Shannon Sharpe:They do it all the time. Where Jerry Jones' kids work at, Joe, Ocho? With the Cowboys. What? You mean to tell me your dad can help you get ahead? How many times have we seen that they help their kids get ahead? that we're supposed to feel bad if we help our kids get ahead.

25:49Chad Johnson:Right, right, right.

25:50Shannon Sharpe:Damn it. If my kids wanted to work in media, you best believe they got a job. And somebody might not have one, but they gonna have one.

25:58Chad Johnson:Hey, go ahead, Joe. Hey, listen, I think it goes back, you know, to the last time I was on here with y 'all. Heavy is a head, there were a crown, fellas. Absolutely. This is part, hey, look, this comes with the territory. Uncle, I know what you're saying. Yep, that's my child. And I'm gonna defend him every chance I get. You say something about him? Because we're in a funny stage to where in hoops, we've never seen this combination before. We've never seen a father-son duo teammates actually cross over. Yeah, yeah. They actually in the league at the same time. And they're on the same team. Hello.

26:30Chad Johnson:So, look, now we're having to deal with this in real time. And obviously, you know, Bronny going to have people shooting at him. It's just what it is. He's LeBron's son. He's going to get everybody's A game. Every time he touched the floor, he got a target on his back.

26:43Shannon Sharpe:Yes.

26:43Chad Johnson:That's what it is. and he has to be aware of that. And I just think, man, it's unfortunate, but I love the fact that LeBron gave Jalen Brown his props.

26:53Shannon Sharpe:His flowers. Yeah, two things can be true. I didn't approve of what he said, but he's an MVP candidate. He played his ass off. Absolutely, absolutely.

27:02Chad Johnson:Because they came into LA last night and put on the show. They beat the brakes off him. You hear me?

27:06Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Peyton Pritchett. Hey, Ocho, you still think you could take Peyton Pritchett? Man, Ocho.

27:12Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, boy, hey, young boy, nice, huh? You heard me? Hey, hey, hey, Joe. Hey, boy, Mr. Pritchett, nice, ain't he? Yeah.

27:19Shannon Sharpe:Hey, he gets it at money on Ocho. Yeah. And that's the thing. You look at him. Hey, you look at him, and he'll go to a rucker park and drop 30 or 40 on somebody here. Yeah. Because they looking at him like, oh, man, that little white dude ain't about to do nothing. And he look up next day, you know, his team got 140, and he got 50 of them.

27:39Chad Johnson:Man, look, that boy, what he had, 30-something last night off the bench. He came in getting straight to it. Boston got – hey, look, I know we didn't gave them they props, but Boston's going to be in the thick of it, man. They've been looking good as of late. They've been looking good.

27:55Shannon Sharpe:I'll give you another example. The same thing what people say about Magic. I had Magic on the show. Yeah. I asked him, you know, and I was like, Magic, when did you know that your son, that EJ wasn't going to be a basketball player? He wasn't going to play football. He's like, Shaw, you know, there were signs. we saw things that you know he didn't want to play with trucks he didn't want to do things and people want magic to disown his son because he chose a life that's different than what a heterosexual man yeah hell nah hell nah magic say i hey magic say i believe in god too but that's my son absolutely absolutely hey i just if i got through if one if one of my kids chose to live a different lifestyle yeah guess what i talk that up i take that up with god when i get up there with him yeah they ain't got nothing to do with y 'all down here right whatever god got in store for me and my child yeah i'll take it up with him once i get up there yeah most definitely i mean i

28:51Iso Joe Johnson:obviously you you can't that's that's one thing regardless of of what they choose to be it might be against your will it might be against what you maybe something you didn't want joe on yeah boy i ain't disowning nothing now whatever you decide to do now what you're not gonna do if you're gonna if you're gonna be whatever it is whatever you identify as you better be the best at it don't Don't you embarrass me. Don't you half ass it. Now, if you gonna be gay, you better be the best of gay out there. Be it, be it. Whatever you gonna do, you better be the best at it. Don't embarrass me. Listen, listen, listen.

29:24Iso Joe Johnson:I don't care what you try to do,

29:26Shannon Sharpe:but you better be one of the best at it. Cause how many times, how many times guys have we heard, boy, that child can't do nothing wrong in his mom or dad's eyes. Boy, that child, that child is terrible, but mom and dad can't see no fault in their own child. We've all been there. I'm like, damn. My kid really that bad? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They that bad. But look, I agree with you, Ocho. Joe, it comes along with the territory. What comes along with the territory that when you play a professional sport, there's going to come criticism? Yes, sir. Be it from peers, be it from the media, whatever the case may be.

30:12Shannon Sharpe:It doesn't make it any easier because a lot of times, Joe, you said something very interesting. You said, hey, they're going to go at him. Well, if I can't get your dad, I'm going to tell your kid ass up. Yeah. Because remember I told you, Ocho, the dude couldn't beat my brother, so he tried to get him on me. So he tried to get you. Yeah. Yeah. So, hey, they could never do anything with LeBron, so they go at Bronny.

30:34Chad Johnson:Absolutely.

30:35Shannon Sharpe:That's just the way it is. I had it in high school when playing sports. Oh, you started a little brother. Okay. Yeah, I'm his little brother, but don't sleep now. Yeah. I'm going to light y 'all ass up too. Up too. But look, I think, you know what? You know, sometimes closeness brings resentment. You see, Jordan didn't get this kind of resentment right because there wasn't nobody close to him.

30:59Chad Johnson:Right.

30:59Shannon Sharpe:Kobe didn't get this kind of vitriol because there wasn't nobody close to him. And one of the things that people say about LeBron is that what? he wants to be friendly. He wants to be light. Hey, I just

31:10Iso Joe Johnson:you know what? The fact that you just said that Jordan wasn't friendly, huh? Hell no. Kobe wasn't friendly. Well, I know Kobe wasn't friendly.

31:19Chad Johnson:And Kobe became friendly after he retired.

31:22Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

31:22Chad Johnson:They ain't care nothing about having no friends. No.

31:25Shannon Sharpe:And Jordan still ain't got a whole lot of friends.

31:28Chad Johnson:Jordan messed with like Oak. That's really the only dude that

31:30Shannon Sharpe:Jordan still rock with.

31:32Chad Johnson:Man, listen. Jordan over there having a ball over there NASCAR. He said I'm tired. He went back to back racing Daytona and in Hampton. He said I'm tired of basketball. I'm going to NASCAR.

31:45Shannon Sharpe:It is. But no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Jordan. Jordan didn't give a D. Kobe didn't care about nothing.

31:53Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hold on. Wait a minute. I'm confused. Let's separate the two now. I'm talking about on the court.

32:05I

32:05Iso Joe Johnson:damn real yeah

32:09Chad Johnson:some shards boy

32:11Iso Joe Johnson:hey hey Joe I mean I mean honestly my personality it wouldn't allow me to live like that on the field yes even on the field I was fun entertaining but I'm a kid I'm a kill you like my mentality was I'm going at your heart as a player but I can't have that same mentality off like I gotta talk have fun hang out but what y 'all doing you want to go smoke money you know whatever it may be but the fact that they were really like that outside of basketball

32:38Shannon Sharpe:they had a singular focus all the time and they couldn't turn it off

32:45Chad Johnson:it doesn't matter look if you playing cards whatever you playing they want to kill you in it Ocho that's just how it is yeah Jordan bet everything

32:56Shannon Sharpe:he's not going to do anything for fun ain't nothing for fun ain't no shooting no pool for fun ain't no playing no cards for fun It ain't playing no golf for fun. It ain't nothing. He don't do anything for fun. Nothing. He want to see how you work under pressure.

33:14Chad Johnson:Yeah. Everybody don't work good under pressure, Uncle Nocho. It busts pipes, but he can make diamonds as well. Everybody don't work well under pressure.

33:24Shannon Sharpe:And it's even worse with the money in your pocket. See, we ain't got the money in the playoffs, Ocho. You know what I'm saying? But just imagine, just imagine you had to put the money that you received in the playoffs, you had to put it up. And then if you got it, if you won, they doubled it. They gave it back to you. So Jordan going to put a, let's bet$50 ,000 on this hand. Huh? 50 what? $50 ,000 on a hand? Yeah. Yeah, bye. That's the only hand you're going to get. Bye. Right. Jamal Crawford told a story. Dude had money, wanted to bet Jordan$100 ,000. Let's flip for it. Jordan said, I ain't got a whole lot of time.

34:05Shannon Sharpe:Let's flip for it. You call it. And he said, no, I'm good. You okay? Jordan said, hey, I ain't got a whole lot of time. I'm in a bit of a hurry. Go ahead, call it.

34:15Chad Johnson:Flip for it. Hey, dude love to gamble, man. He love to gamble. Anything that's competitive. Yes, yes.

34:24Shannon Sharpe:And I think that's how him and Oak bonded, because Oak love to gamble. Man, they say - They love cars. They love playing Bure. They love playing Guts. I mean, Jordan go to the – they love that. I ain't got it, Ocho. Hey, listen. I'm telling you. Boy, you make mistakes, man. Yeah. Because they ain't no chips. They got real cash stacked up there. Yeah. See, like when you got a chip, Ocho, you don't look at – you don't see it. Sometimes you don't see it as money. Right. But when you actually got money, you got 50, 100, 200 ,000, a quarter of a million on that table?

34:56Chad Johnson:Oh, we. Yeah. Man, stop. You're here to look different.

35:00Iso Joe Johnson:I can't. Hey. I can't even fathom. I can visualize and what y 'all saying, but I can't fathom sitting at a table with 20, 50 ,000 in chips, 100 ,000, 50 ,000 in chips. I mean, where they do that at? I mean, I understand people do it because they have their vices, but man. Hey, Joe. What's up? When I go to Vegas, $100 is my limit. Maybe 200. on the blackjack table. $25 table, Joe. That's as far as I'm going.

35:33Chad Johnson:You ain't winning nothing with that.

35:34Iso Joe Johnson:Joe, I like the small win, Joe. To go in there with 100 and leave with 400, that's a win to me, Joe. I know it ain't gonna move the needle, but just the fact that I don't gamble, but I will try it every blue moon. I only go to Vegas maybe once, twice a year, Joe. That ain't bad. That's not an addiction. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I ain't playing. I call that circumstance. I just happen to be there.

35:55Shannon Sharpe:Right. You don't gamble in Vegas? No. I hadn't actually been to a table and probably sat at a table probably in 20 years. Damn.

36:05Chad Johnson:Nah, nah. I come to Vegas now. I'm going to get a little gambling in. If I lose$1 ,000, I'm done. That's my limit. Okay, Joe. Okay, Joe. What you playing, quarter slots? Nah, I'm playing. I'm playing. I'm shooting craps. I might play a little blackjack, but I ain't going too crazy. Excuse me.

36:25Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, you see you tried to. Y 'all, you look, you the same kind of gamble. You wanna load up on the six and eight. You gonna try to...

36:32Chad Johnson:Already the water playing, Ocho. But hold up, while y 'all playing though, I was staying at the wind one night and I won 27 ,000 with this little playing blackjack. Ooh, Joe! 27 ,000? Shooting dice. Three card poker? Pog out? I was shooting dice on the crap table. Oh, you look. Okay, you on the crap table. I was on the dice, no lie, I was on the dice probably about 35, 40 minutes. Yeah. When you got hot like that, Joe? Man, I had built it up until I had about four, 500 on almost every point. And I just kept rolling. So listen, hold on though. When I won, I had initially won 29 ,000. So once I won that, I started taking all my money off the board.

37:13Chad Johnson:I was like, you know what? I know I ain't gonna be this hot too long. When I fall off, I'm walking out the door. I fell off, took my money, I was gone.

37:22Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. The thing is you bet it the hard way. You bet it, cause it gives you odds, what? Eight to one, 10 to one odds on six and eight. Yeah. So you get the hard eight, which you roll four, four. You get a hard six, three, three. You get 10, you know, a five and five. Yes, sir. You bar it, five and nine. Hey, look, you just wanna roll numbers. You just wanna stay on the dice. That's all you wanna do, just roll the numbers. Just roll the numbers.

37:45Chad Johnson:Oh, man. What?

37:46Shannon Sharpe:Kill him, Ocho. Hey, I bet if Ben Burns go to the table, we betting somebody crap out. Bro, what are we doing here? I'm like, bro, this ain't a team sport. We not team. I bet you crap. You did. Now play off the dice.

38:03Chad Johnson:Hey, Ocho. Ocho, y 'all don't play no poker or nothing? I play some holes. I used to.

38:07Shannon Sharpe:I used to play poker. I played in the World Series of Poker one time. Did you really? I did.

38:12Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah, Joe, you'd be mad at me, Joe. You can't play no poker? Joe, I don't even understand the game, bro.

38:19Chad Johnson:Oh, man.

38:19Iso Joe Johnson:Joe, I gotta rely on the people sitting next to me when I'm playing blackjack and rely on the dealer if I don't have nobody there. Oh man. Well you go to the wrong casino,

38:31Shannon Sharpe:they don't let you talk, you can't do that.

38:33Chad Johnson:Right, right.

38:35Shannon Sharpe:They don't let you go to the wrong casino, they won't let you, you can't talk.

38:38Iso Joe Johnson:Oh for real?

38:38Shannon Sharpe:Hell no.

38:39Iso Joe Johnson:The only casino I go to is Vegas. You know, the Hard Rock right here down the street for me.

38:43Shannon Sharpe:I'm saying there are a lot of casinos. You got the wind, you got R, you got Hard Rock, you got the Vinicius.

38:48Iso Joe Johnson:yeah I don't know nothing about them you got the palms hey Joe and that's a good thing too for me Joe is the fact that I don't understand all the games that are in the casino so there's really no interest in me wanting to play let alone gamble so not only am I cheap as hell I don't understand the goddamn game they got no way in blackjack for me I play a little $100$200$25 $25 games simply because I just know I gotta be the dealer that's all I know right okay okay

39:17Shannon Sharpe:Well, I mean, look, I don't like the shoe. I like single deck or double deck. When they start getting to that shoe, they got six decks. I don't really care too much for that shoe. That shoe, man, that shoe have you messed up. The thing is with Blackjack, one bad play can mess up the whole shoe. Man. And you just get your head busted for the rest of that shoe. Somebody take a car, take the dealer bus car.

39:47Chad Johnson:hey you mad at him on us you start a fight over there that's why i don't really play blackjack

39:52Shannon Sharpe:too much no i said don't even worry about it that's why i pick my money i'm going somewhere because hey because sometimes man i'll be feeling like they brought this dude in here to f the game

40:08Shannon Sharpe:I'm like, I play black. I go play blackjack. Sometimes I play three power guy. I play three card poker or I play crap. That's all I play. No roulette. They play the shots. They just play slot machine. I ain't got time for that.

40:22Chad Johnson:Y 'all don't play the roulette.

40:23Iso Joe Johnson:You just bet on the.

40:24Shannon Sharpe:Hell no.

40:25Iso Joe Johnson:No, no, no. Oh, roulette. Hey, roulette. That's the one the table go around in the circle. Yeah.

40:31Shannon Sharpe:They say bet on read, right? you better what i mean you can read a bet red or black but you're gonna come out better betting

40:37Iso Joe Johnson:a number though oh i'm mad yeah i don't know i'm good i'm good i don't like that hey hey joe i don't like to bet no money where i'm not in complete control of the outcome if i'm not in control

40:49Shannon Sharpe:the cars don't know you no i'm just saying in general that's why i don't like gamma because

40:56Iso Joe Johnson:The outcome is not in my control. And the Dice damn sure don't know you. No, we.

41:02Shannon Sharpe:Absolutely not. Man. Absolutely not. But, no. We got to go to the bank. So, Joe, will you come out here? Because I'm going to go to one night. I'm going to go with Dana. I'm going to go to the casino with Dana. Dana be playing 100 ,000 hands. 200 ,000 hands. Ooh. I'll be watching, y 'all. What you think I'll be doing? I play 100, 200 not no thousand hell no

41:32Iso Joe Johnson:I would love to be there just to watch that just to see it in person just to see it in person again knowing you got it but you never do it but see other people do it because they got it and can afford to lose it I can't recoup no 200 ,000 you know how long I got to work to recoup 200 ,000 Joe

41:51Chad Johnson:I ain't catching no touchdown

41:53Iso Joe Johnson:Joe

41:54Chad Johnson:Oh man. Oh, man. Ocho, Ocho, we had to go out there and gamble with Unk a little bit. Just a little bit. Just a little bit.

42:02Iso Joe Johnson:Just a little bit. How much we talking?

42:04Chad Johnson:I told you. 10K. 10K. 10? That boy ain't spending no 10K.

42:11Iso Joe Johnson:Ah, shit. The devil is, hey, Joe, I done had these same pants on for goddamn two months. You think I'm for the spend 10K at the casino?

42:18Shannon Sharpe:Like, come on, man. Hey, Ocho, we gonna hit him. Hey, me, you and Joe gonna go to the crap table. It's just gonna be us at the crap table by ourselves. Nah. Hey, we betting all the points. I'm gonna be on the dice. Cause you know, the common snake I will, I call the dice before it start rolling.

42:34Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, hey, hey, and Joe, you know if they know we coming, if they hear we coming, they gonna fix the table so we walk out of there with nothing. Oh, man, come on. They gonna fix the table so we walk out of there with nothing. They don't know we coming.

42:44Shannon Sharpe:Huh? They don't know we coming. I bring my cash. We bring attention. I bring my own cash. Hey, change him out for chips? Or you can say, hey, money plays?

42:56Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, that's not a good idea, uncle. That's not a good idea. They say the house never loses. That's what I heard.

43:03Chad Johnson:Hey, you want two-month TV, Ojo. Hey, that's to the folks. Well, I saw the gambler.

43:08Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, you saw the - Give him, baby, Smith. Ha! Yeah, I seen the gambler. I seen it. With Mark Wahlberg? Yes, sir. I don't want that to be me. I don't want that to be me. you don't know when to stop. Now you're owing people money because you're trying to get yourself out of debt and get out the hole. I don't want to get beat up because I owe the shark.

43:28Shannon Sharpe:Nah, nah, nah. Hey, you see a, what you call a, Matt Damon in Rounders, right? Ooh. Teddy KGB? He ain't seen that. He don't know nothing about that.

43:39Iso Joe Johnson:Nah, what movie is that? What's that?

43:41Chad Johnson:It's a gambling movie.

43:43Iso Joe Johnson:What's the name of it? Teddy KGB. This is the biggest night in podcasting. 44:32Iso Joe Johnson:I'm Daniel Jeremiah. And I'm Greg Rosenthal. And this is 40s and Free Agents. The games may be over, but the NFL never stops. This is my favorite part of the calendar. Yeah, mine too, Greg. Free agency, the combine, the NFL draft, pro days, trades. This is where teams reshape their future. This is where Daniel Jeremiah makes his money. On 40s and free agents, we break down every move that actually matters. From my draft evaluations, mock drafts, and team fits. To my top 101 free agents and how real rosters are built, cap space, contracts, and all the tough decisions included. You got quarterbacks on the move.

45:09Iso Joe Johnson:We got teams rebuilding. It's hope season. Absolutely, it's hope season. And we'll tell you what's real, what's noise, and what it means for your favorite team. Smart analysis, real conversations every week. I don't know about the smart, but definitely analysis. Listen to 40s and Free Agents on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

45:32Shannon Sharpe:DKGB. What's it called? Rounders? Rounders. Rounders? That must be old, huh? It is. It is. But it's a good-ass movie.

45:40Chad Johnson:It's good.

45:40Shannon Sharpe:With Matt Damon and Edward Norton.

45:43Chad Johnson:Yeah. I like Matt Damon. Matt Damon, he hard.

45:48Shannon Sharpe:But, yeah, we come on out here. Let's get this. Jalen Brown says, I feel like I'm the best two-way player in the world. Joe, do you agree?

45:56Chad Johnson:Is he the best two-way player in the world? Right now, yeah. I'm going to say yeah, Arke Ocho. He makes it a point to, you know, own his matchup night in and night out. And not only that, not only is he, you know, owning it on defense, but offensively he following it up with 30 a night, man. I think he's playing extremely great basketball, and rightfully so. He's in the MVP conversation. Man, there's still a lot of basketball left. Uncle Ocho, he a dark horse in this thing now. He a dark horse in it.

46:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I definitely think. Look, I thought he was supremely athletic. The bounce that he has, he's worked on his game. You can tell that he's worked on his game. The outside shot is a little bit more consistent now. The three ball is more consistent. He always had the ability to – you know, sometimes he get a little loose with his handles. Yeah. But he's always had the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the right. Absolutely. Because he has supreme athleticism. And you go back and look at when they won the championship, he took it serious. He took Luka. He said, no, I got Luka.

47:01Chad Johnson:94 feet. And did a double. Yeah. Hey. 94 feet. That's his job. His job, pick you up, weigh you down so in the fourth quarter you ain't got no gas. and he's still going. And that's how he's been playing, man. Kudos to Jalen Brown, bro. He's been fun to watch this year. It's actually been fun to watch the Celtics, just their whole team. It ain't just been him, Ocho. He got other guys who done stepped up, and they've been playing well. Oh, yeah, Hauser and Derek White. Hauser, Ms. White, Richard. They got a big down there. Metta, the big dude who was beating stuff up last night.

47:37Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

47:38Chad Johnson:Oh, man. They got a nice. And Vucevic, like I'm saying, the more comfortable he get, the better off they're going to be. They're going to be right there fighting in the thick of things in the Eastern Conference.

47:48Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. You know, JB done cut his hair. He ain't pulling nobody. Yeah. You done let that base you ain't go? That big M.T.?

47:57Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, he didn't. You know, honestly, Uncle Joe, you know, JB done took it real serious. Obviously, with all the stuff, a while to talk about, you know, JT going down and how the Celtics weren't going to be the same. And he took all that talk personal because basically y 'all telling me I can't carry no franchise. Y 'all telling me, you know, JT is the better player of the two, you know? So let me get out here and show y 'all. I already had to deal with the bull crap when it came to the goddamn Olympics. Now you're saying I can't carry a franchise. Man, hold my beer. Right.

48:28Chad Johnson:Watch this. Right.

48:30Iso Joe Johnson:He's been showing up. He's been showing out, showing up and showing out ever since.

48:34Chad Johnson:You're absolutely right, Ocho. He's taking the challenge every night on both ends of the floor. And he's done it at a very, very high level. And man, I'm talking about every night he win his matchup. He wins his matchup every night, which gives him a great chance to win. Hey, Joe, how tall is JB? He's about 6 '5", 6 '6". That's it? Yeah.

48:59Shannon Sharpe:I thought he was tall enough. I thought he about your height, Joe.

49:02Chad Johnson:Yeah, he about 6 '6". Joe, how tall you with, Joe? I'm about 6 '8".

49:07Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah, I like me going right around you, bro. Go right around who? Huh?

49:13Chad Johnson:Hey, one thing I can do is slide these puppets, Ojo. Where I'm from, if you couldn't play defense homeboy, you couldn't get out there on the court. I'm trying to tell you. You hear me? Joe, if you can't slide no more, man,

49:23Shannon Sharpe:if your electric slide days over, Ojo, Joe, back in the day, electric slide. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

49:31Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe. I know you can slide one way. I mean, how fast can you get back with your lateral movement, Joe?

49:38Chad Johnson:Man, first off, your handle ain't like that to be moving nobody side to side while you talking about something. Man, stop it. How you know, Joe?

49:46Iso Joe Johnson:You got to cut it out, old Joe. Stop the cap, bro. When we going to play, Joe? I'm sick of this shit.

49:52Chad Johnson:I told you when we going to play. We going to line it up.

49:55Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, you in Atlanta?

49:57Chad Johnson:Yeah, I'm here right now. What's going on?

49:58Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, listen, are you prepared to play right now? because I could fly down for the week and chill. I told you, man. Can you give me at least an April? Hey, he scared. Hey, I got his spooked. I got his spooked. Hey, Joe, you scared, Joe? I need to April, bro. Can I have to April? Give me about four more weeks. Listen to me. Whatever you can do in April, you can do right now, boy. What you want to say to help you, my boy? Not with me. Not with me. I'm telling you, boy. Your knees going to buckle, boy. Huh? You better buckle.

50:30Chad Johnson:Ocho, we already know you the big capital, man. Everybody know that, bro.

50:34Iso Joe Johnson:Everybody know that? Hey, Joe, one thing I do is I compete, Joe, in everything I do, Joe. And, hey, I'm going to compete and I'm going to show up. You didn't compete when you was in New York?

50:43Shannon Sharpe:In the All-Star game, Ocho.

50:45Iso Joe Johnson:Huh?

50:46Shannon Sharpe:In that big three All-Star game. What about it? Listen, listen. That's what Joe was asking me.

50:52Iso Joe Johnson:Let me tell you something. What about it? I keep telling you all a million times in that big three, I ain't messing up nobody money, especially that much money them boys betting. I let them take care of their thing and got my ass out the way. Because I ain't paying nobody$20 ,000 to get in the way and show I can motherfucking hoop. Excuse my language. Sorry about that. But Joe, boy, your ass grass, boy. Heavy is the crown, right? We'll see who be wearing it after we've done it.

51:18Shannon Sharpe:JB came in a Sunday game averaging a career high 29 points a game, 7 rebounds, almost 5 assists. He showed up, he had 32, Peyton Pritchard had 30, and they roll the Lakers. What's your Lakers going to do, huh? Nothing. They can't play defense. They can't guard anybody. You know they couldn't play defense last year. Yeah, they still can't.

51:40Chad Johnson:They can't. They can't rebound. They can't. They can't keep nobody in front of them. That's why I can't stay in front of nobody.

51:47Shannon Sharpe:They get beat off the first dribble. Oh, man. Which compromises your defense for the rest of the possession. Once you get beat off the first dribble, you compromise the rest of the possession. It's a wrap.

51:56Chad Johnson:It's a wrap. You got us in the huckleball. Now we scrambling, trying to catch. It's over with.

52:01Shannon Sharpe:Somebody going to be open.

52:03Chad Johnson:Yes, sir.

52:03Shannon Sharpe:Sliding all over the place. Joe, Kevin Durant says he would like to play for Team USA when his team suits up in 2028 in LA. Katie said, you guys, the media have projected that narrative. Where did the last dance thing come from? I didn't say that. I wasn't playing. LeBron said he wasn't. You didn't hear that from me. I've got to stay on top of my game. I'm not expecting. I want to produce on the floor and make Grant or whomever is making the decision want to put me on the team. I don't want to just – not just seniority. I want to still prove I can help the team win. KD makes the team. He'll be short a couple of – I guess what, a couple of months?

52:42Shannon Sharpe:Should I turn him 40? Because if LeBron were to play, he'd be 43, and Steph would be 40.

52:51Iso Joe Johnson:You said make the team. What do you mean make the team? No, I'm saying if you were to play, you want to be on the team.

52:55Chad Johnson:Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Yeah, he going to, hey, man, look, for the love of the game, bro, like the dude loves to play Uncle Ocho. They can say whatever they want to say about him. He enjoys playing the game, and every time he steps on the floor, you know what you're going to pretty much get from him. Now, if he's still healthy at this point, still playing at a high level, yeah, I would love to see him out there as well playing with some of these young guys to help lead the charge. I mean, every time he's played on the USA team, whenever it has been, he's always showed up and showed out.

53:23Chad Johnson:Yep. Four gold medals. Yes, sir. I can see it. I can see it. I can see it. Would he be 40 what?

53:33Shannon Sharpe:A couple months shy of 40.

53:35Chad Johnson:Yeah, he'll be able to do it, man.

53:38Shannon Sharpe:He'll be able to do it. Because ESPN predicts the 2028 Olympic team. Cooper Flagg, Khan Knipple, Jorlin Duren, Armin Thompson, Scotty Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Anthony Edwards, Chet Hongren, Jalen Williams, Tyrese Halliburton, Bam Adebayo, Jason Tatum. I don't know, Joe. I don't know that team bringing the gold back.

54:02Chad Johnson:I like Cade and A.E. at the one and two. I like, I ain't going to lie, boy. I like Con Canippo. I ain't going to lie, Ocho. He let that thing go.

54:13Shannon Sharpe:He going to shatter that rookie three-point record. I mean, he going to put, this mofo might have 300 threes.

54:20Chad Johnson:Man, listen. Hey, I'm talking about he's shooting the blood out that ball. You hear me? Oh, yeah. He can go now. I like the A-Man Thompson kid. I like Duren. I like the scene. I like the scene. What you don't like about it? Is it the bigs that you don't like? Got the bigs. Who going to do something with Yoke? Who going to do something with Wimby? We. Because Bam going to need some help down there, him and Chet. Yeah, absolutely.

54:45Iso Joe Johnson:Hey, Bam, would Bam be considered undersized big?

54:49Shannon Sharpe:Yes.

54:50Iso Joe Johnson:Like a tweener almost, like power forward, center.

54:53Chad Johnson:You can play both. Yeah, he like a hybrid because he can handle the ball, Ocho. He can initiate the offense. He can pass. He can playmate. He can do a little bit of everything. Bam like a little wild card. I like having Bam in there.

55:04Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah. But, hey, Unk, who is a big in general that can go in and just -

55:09Shannon Sharpe:We ain't really got no big Americans.

55:10Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah.

55:11Chad Johnson:Nah, not no bigs who can guard.

55:13Shannon Sharpe:Not no traditional bigs. We got stretches.

55:16Iso Joe Johnson:That's what Cheney is. A traditional big wouldn't work in today's game anyway.

55:21Shannon Sharpe:Well, obviously, you got to have somebody that can bang with Yoke.

55:24Iso Joe Johnson:Okay, okay.

55:25Shannon Sharpe:You got to be able to bang with him. You got to be able to keep him off the glass. You got to make him work on the offensive end.

55:31Iso Joe Johnson:Right.

55:32Shannon Sharpe:Because he going to get his. And the problem that you have with him is that he gets everybody else involved.

55:38Chad Johnson:Hey, Tatum might say damn that. Yeah, y 'all ain't playing me like that. He might say damn that.

55:45Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Joe, I see a name that ain't on here averaging 29 points a game, but in the MVP discussion, Jay LeBrowse said, kick rocks. He said, first of all, he said... Yeah, how they don't have him on here? That's crazy. He said, BHPD disrespecting me and closed by a bit down. Oh, man.

56:08Chad Johnson:That's crazy.

56:09Shannon Sharpe:I can see KD playing. I don't think Steph... I think that was Steph was all in on that one. Steph said, look, this is my first and last. I'd have brought the family to Paris. Hey, we good. We got the gold medal. I'm good.

56:21Chad Johnson:Hey, and the performance that Steph put on. Yeah.

56:24Shannon Sharpe:I wouldn't go back. You'll never forget that. Yeah, I wouldn't go. That's the greatest Olympic in a game ever. Yeah.

56:31Iso Joe Johnson:That was classic.

56:32Shannon Sharpe:Man, listen. I wouldn't go back and mess with that.

56:36Chad Johnson:I wouldn't go back and mess with that, Uncle Ojo. I wouldn't either.

56:43Shannon Sharpe:and when he shot that he shot that thing man way way

56:49Chad Johnson:he shot that thing with somebody not only draped on it but he had KD and LeBron to his left wide open

56:59he said hey

57:01Shannon Sharpe:he said if y 'all wanted to shoot it y 'all would never pass it to me cause you're not getting it back

57:06Chad Johnson:hey I said what Oh my God, they put on a performance, boy.

57:12Shannon Sharpe:Man, you know everybody lickin' their chops on us, Joe and Ocho. You know Canada wanna try to get their lick in. The Serbs wanna get their lick in. Greece with Giannis wanna try to get a lick in. Slovenia with Luca.

57:32Iso Joe Johnson:And listen, they waitin' too. And Germany, remember Germany beat them in FIBO

57:37Shannon Sharpe:a couple years ago.

57:39Chad Johnson:And Schroeder, he a different player. Oh, yeah. Schroeder, he different. Yeah. Oh, yeah. They got their work cut out for them. Because they got a big target on their back. Big target.

57:52Shannon Sharpe:I don't know. Maybe Joel Embiid will be healthy enough to want to play. Nah, Embiid better.

57:58Iso Joe Johnson:Listen, I give Joel Embiid my knees, man. If I can give him my knees, man, just to get him healthy, get him running up and down that court, man, and doing what he could do for the Olympics, he could take my knees, man.

58:10Shannon Sharpe:And then, you know, the French definitely won. Wimby say he already looking at 28. You hear me? Wimby say he already... After they lost, he said, I'm looking to get my lick back in 28.

58:22Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah, it's going to be a good one, man. The world has caught up to us, fellas. In basketball? Yeah, from a talent perspective. They ain't scared no more, Uncle Ocho. They ain't scared no more.

58:35Shannon Sharpe:Playing under those rules? Playing under those rules, those feeble rules? Oh, yeah. It's a whole different game. They could knock the ball off the rim and all kind of foolishness.

58:44Chad Johnson:Yeah. It's going to be a tough one for us. We'll pull it out, though.

58:49Shannon Sharpe:Speaking of that, Kevin Durant also spoke about the narrative that the world is catching up to Team USA. Katie says, all I hear is AAU is destroying the game. The Euros do it right while the Americans do it wrong. It's a lot of bull jive with that. I can read between the lines. It's a shot at black Americans. because we're controlling the sport. They're tired of us controlling the sport. Francis coming for y 'all. Really? Man, we smacked them boys. Mm.

59:13Chad Johnson:Right. Man, KD, you got to come back and die. Yeah. Hey, I like the energy. I like the energy, fellas. Hey, listen, because I'm with him on that. Man, listen, we the best. I think, has the world caught up? Yeah, but I think guys have kind of got a little bored with this for whatever reason. But we got to get back to dominating, man. We got to get back to dominating, fellas. I'm saying from top to bottom, it ain't no teams betting us from top to bottom on Uncle Ocho. No, but when they first started,

59:41Shannon Sharpe:they might have had four or five players in the NBA. Every team that sends somebody to the Olympics, they got NBA players. Yeah, you're right. So that's the difference between now. No, nobody has the depth that we have. It's just like the American sprinters. Nobody has the depth when it comes to 100-meter sprinting, 200-meter sprinting, 400-meter sprinting. Nobody got that depth. But they got a couple.

1:00:08Iso Joe Johnson:Yeah. I mean, you heard what you just said, a couple. I don't think they have enough.

1:00:14Shannon Sharpe:But Ocho, but here's the thing. When they played in 92, you couldn't find a foreigner in the top 25. Right. The top seven, eight players in the NBA currently are foreigners. Foreigners, yeah.

1:00:27Iso Joe Johnson:The game has evolved. They have evolved in general. You know, they've gotten better, whatever it is that they do in their ecosystem and having kids go through whatever type of training they do. Now you have more players in the NBA that are foreigners. But I still think as a whole, collectively as a group, they will never be able to dominate us, especially at said craft, especially in Olympics.

1:00:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, well, they done beat us before. You know what I mean? Once you get beat. Once you get beat. Right. it's hard to keep them wolves off once them hyenas found out they can take down a Cape Buffalo it's hard to protect them calves it's hard

1:01:12Iso Joe Johnson:man even though we ain't got no big they ain't letting us down

1:01:19Shannon Sharpe:I sure hope you right don't you

1:01:21Chad Johnson:that mean your perimeter guys gotta be lights out

1:01:25Iso Joe Johnson:they gotta be on point they gotta be on point

1:01:31Shannon Sharpe:I like that Con Canipple for the simple fact he can shoot threes. You got to have somebody that can be a knockdown three. You got to have a couple of those guys.

1:01:39Chad Johnson:Yeah, because you're going to have guys who can go off the bounce, who can create opportunities for other guys, and you just want them other guys like Con Canipple to be able to knock down shots. Man, I watched him play, Uncle Ocho Con Canipple. He don't even really look like no NBA player. But when I'm talking about getting it done, oh, my God. The boy out there getting it done, Ocho. Every time you look in the box, he got 20, 27 points. Like, I'm talking about shooting it, man.
