In short
NBA playoffs talk focused on three games: Spurs vs. Blazers (Spurs win 114-95 to advance), Knicks vs. Hawks (Knicks win Game 5 to lead 3-2 and set up a must-win Game 6 in Atlanta), and Joel Embiid dominating in Boston (mentioned as a headline).
Guests
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson (former NFL Pro Bowler; co-host) and Joe Johnson (seven-time NBA All-Star; former Atlanta Hawks player). Hosts also include “Uncle Ocho” (Zach is mentioned in ads, not as a guest).
Key claims
- Spurs’ series win was “by committee” and they’re a legitimate Finals contender due to depth and defense.
- De’Aaron Fox is the late-game separator; the Spurs’ waves of scoring can swing a 5-point lead to 14 before a timeout.
- Knicks must stop Jalen Brunson from getting loose; Hawks’ issues include rebounding and free throws.
- Betting banter: a disputed $500 wager and talk of doubling it for Game 6.
Notable examples/stat lines
- Spurs: 6 players in double figures; Harper 17 off the bench; Spurs shot 55%; Portland stayed in it via turnovers.
- Knicks: Jalen Brunson 39 points (15-for-23); OG Anunoby 5-for-8; OG/others combined shooting 57% (as stated).
- Hawks: out-rebounded badly (claims include 48-27); Knicks were strong on boards and physicality.

The Spurs' first playoff wins in nine seasons. They take on the winner of the Nugget Timberwolves. They got up to this big lead. Portland would not go away. I think they cut it down to like nine, maybe ten points. but that was as close as they could get as the Spurs pulled away in fashion and went by 19 points.
8:31Shannon Sharpe:Joe, what did you like about what you saw from the Spurs? Because they came with the game with a singular focus. They jumped on them right away and really didn't look back until late in the ballgame. They made that run. But the Spurs and their head coach have to be very, very pleased with what he saw from his team tonight. Yeah, I think they did what they were supposed to, Ocho. you know considering the fact that you know they want to go and get this series over with man they they played great on the road was able to come was able to get two victories on the road being down double figures on uh on the road and being able to pull those games out so you come back home 3-1 man you want to get these guys out the way to alleviate injuries and and get you get you a little rest and prepare for the next series so i thought it was great i think they attack you in ways bro they like even to start the game basil started the game him and chad penny started the game so hot it's like then if those go if those guys get going uncle ocho you're gonna have hell because i don't know how you're gonna turn out wimby and fox and castle and harper you know what i mean they just got so many guys who can attack they play the right way they're very unselfish and they're all playmakers bro you got on the perimeter you got three guys who can break the defense down at any point in time.
9:45Shannon Sharpe:Fox, Castle, Harper. You can't stay in front of them. They can go get theirs and they can create for the big fella and everybody else around them. I think they just have a complete team who is dangerous, not only offensively, but defensively. They bring it every night, bro. They bring it every night. Joe, you said something very interesting that they do come at you in waves and a five-point lead. The next thing you know, before the opposing team can call a timeout, you're down 14. It was just five and nine's 14. and if you're not careful, that 14 goes to 21 and you got to call another timeout.
10:18Shannon Sharpe:Man, you watch De 'Aaron Fox. When he calls for that pick and roll and he get that big on him, bro, you might as well go ahead and drop coverage. Just go stand up under the rim because you're not finna stay in front of him because he's about to hit you with that hands and that fake hands. Ha-ha! Right to the rim, he goes. And dude, he's like, I don't know what y 'all want me to do. Y 'all really thought I was going to stay in front of him? Yeah. Y 'all want that off. with zero chance. But like you said, you look, they had six guys in double figure. Harper comes off the bench, goes six of nine.
10:49Shannon Sharpe:He has 17 points. Six guys in double figure. They shoot. They shoot 55 % from the floor. You let a team shoot 55 % from the floor, you're probably going to lose. Every time. Every time. You're probably going to lose. And look, the thing that kept Portland in the game is that they turned the ball over. Yeah. They got a little red look curling with the basketball. But this is a very good team. And Jokic, you remember Jokic and Wimby, they've kind of been battling. You know, the two countrymen, Gobert and Wimby. And Wimby said, look, here's a passing of the torch. You know, we changing this thing.
11:28Shannon Sharpe:We changing. Ocho, what did you like about what you saw from San Antonio? Man, I really enjoyed it. The thing about them in this series, even though it was a gentleman sweep, every time they played each night, they did play the Blazers, it was always somebody different. If it wasn't Castle, it was Basso. If it wasn't Basso, it was Fox. If it wasn't Fox, it was Wimby. So what it reminds me of, and I'm going to use football terminology for those that don't know, because I don't know the basketball game the way you guys do. It might be the goddamn greatest show on turf where you had to play the goddamn Rams.
11:56Every time they had a game, Joe, boy, it was by committee. It was always somebody different. It was Oz Akeem or the Isaac Bruce or was Marshall Falk. Or hell, it was Torrey Holt. But either way, they got the job done every single time in a different way throughout the season, obviously, where they played in the same way. It reminded me of that. I don't have a comparison in basketball terms because I don't have a knowledge of the game the way you guys do. But, I mean, I enjoyed it. I think the Spurs are a legit contender to get to the finals. The only team I see with the type of depth, not only offensively, but having the bench to deal with them, would probably be, what's Young Bulldom?
12:39OKC. OKC. That's about it. Because it's so, hey, Joe, what do you do when you don't know who to stop? You don't know who to stop, Joe. And if you do stop one person, here you got four other killers on your head.
12:55Shannon Sharpe:Hey, it's tough, Ocho. I think the great thing about the Spurs, when you look at it, man, Fox don't have to be amazing every night. But when it comes to down the stretch, Uncle Ocho, hey, man, that boy step up every time. You know what I mean? It's kind of like he flows through the game. Yeah, some nights he's going to have 27, 30. But for the most part, in the fourth quarter, that's when he's going to do his damage. Because these dudes come out so hot, and everybody get the free flow, and he's just kind of controlling the game. Uncle Ocho, he's just making sure he keeps everybody involved. And he know his time is going to come.
13:27Shannon Sharpe:You know, he's a veteran guy, veteran presence. You need that, bro. especially a guy at the helm running the point guard, making sure, you know, everybody's in the right spots. And then in them clutch moments in the fourth quarter, under six minutes, under five minutes, he's going to deliver, bro. He's been doing it this whole series, being clutch in the fourth quarter, making big shots, making big plays when needed. He ain't just scoring. He out there fighting defensively too. I think that's the separator of the Spurs. Everybody defends, bro. I know Wimby, he a hell of a backdrop back there. But for the most part, them guys on the perimeter, they defending.
14:06Shannon Sharpe:But if you get by them, I don't know how you plan on scoring the ball. Wendy, if you go back and look at it when Portland made that run, when they came out of the timeout, who did they put the ball in his hands? Fox. Fox, yeah. Fox, yeah. He pick and roll, pick and roll, pick and roll. He doing his thing. Now, Vassal, the first time, Vassal came out and he came out to pick and he did a pick, and he ended up getting like a free-throw line jumper. Yeah. And after that, Fox had the ball, called for the pick and roll, got the big, got the matchup that he wanted, and boom, right by him he went. Because – But I like the fact, look, they're like, Castle, you got to learn on the job.
14:47Shannon Sharpe:I can't take the ball out of your hands every time. I got to get you used to handling situations like this. Because what happens if they take Fox away? What if they put their best defender on Fox? And we need you, when you have an advantage, to take advantage of it. So I like the fact, but I also like the fact that Castle, Castle guard. Yeah, he's going to pick up fouls, but he plays his ass off. He defends everybody. Don't give a damn if you're the point guard, the two, the three, the four. Hey, he got down there and tried to bang with Klingon. He doesn't care. I love that about him. But like I said, when you look at these guys, six or nine, Wimby only shot the ball seven times.
15:24Shannon Sharpe:Eight of 14, four of 11, six of 11. Man. Hey, think about it. Castle, not only does he defend on Ocho, but he got a little nastiness in him too. Oh, yeah, yeah. He don't play no games now. Hey, Joe, you can tell. Remember you got them back-to-back fouls? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I thought Cope was going to take him out the game. Mm-mm, mm-mm. You need that, bro. You need guys. You know, he ain't shying away from no challenge, no contact, no nothing. And then to speak to Fox and Wimby in the pick and roll, man, that pick and roll is so hard to stop with them two for a number of reasons. First off, you don't want to switch because you know Wimby automatically is going to have a mismatch.
16:05Shannon Sharpe:So that's why they – I mean, yeah, that's why they switching. And you end up getting them five-man guarding the point guard. Hell, he ain't got a chance. He ain't got a chance, bro, because they breaking them down. It's going to be a blow-by, either a layup or a spray-out of the three or a lob. They got too many guys, and they hit you in so many ways, bro. And then Wimby, he's just so special. I'm talking about defensively, the way he fly swatting shots up out of there. Man, it'll make anybody second-guess about going up in that paint. Yeah, you ain't going to throw my thing up and get me off.
16:37Shannon Sharpe:I get on SportsCenter, you threw my shot up in the third row. Normally, it's a dunk, or I made somebody touch earth. Now you putting me on SportsCenter, he fly swatting. of my shot. And I think the thing is that if you look at it, you don't have no choice. If you're big, if you don't show, all you're going to do is give him a wide open three. There are times that Castle was shooting shoot-around threes. Wasn't nobody in the vicinity because the big didn't want to come out and have Wimby do the lob when he comes down hill. So now you go ahead and take that. Castle, Vassel, Vassel, all those guys, they're going to have shots because of Wimby.
17:18Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Because Wimby can shoot, but the last thing I want him to do is get that switch, and then he beats the guy, and he comes downhill, and he lobs it, and then there go Wimby, dunking it on somebody's head, getting the crowd into it. Yeah. And you know what else they done showed you too, also Uncle Joe? What's that? When Wimby's not playing, they still able to function offensively, even in on defense. You know? Okay, we don't have that presence. We don't have that presence in the paint. Offensively, they still doing the same thing. It's by committee. You just don't know whose night it's going to be.
17:49When he's not in it, they showed us he could do that. They showed that during the regular season too.
17:55Shannon Sharpe:Cornette's been giving some good minutes to you, Joe. I mean, he don't play much. I mean, he had 13 minutes. He gave five points. He's perfect from the floor, perfect from the free throw line, three rebounds, three assists. That's all you need. You don't need him to try to match Wimby numbers. Hey, just play solid defense just in case he gets in foul trouble. Be able to knock down, be able to roll to the basket, and get a lob, get a layup. Hey, defend just a little bit. We don't expect you to be Wimby. Yeah. But you are seven foot tall, so block some shots. Because Wimby, hey, they missing the whole damn goal.
18:24Shannon Sharpe:They see Wimby up there. Hey, listen. They're like, nah, I don't need one. All they need from Cornette is energy and effort. That's it. That's it. You bring that. But to speak on Portland, man, they won a couple games in this series. I mean, they won one game. Yeah. And I think those first two games in San Antonio, I think what Portland can take from that is they got to find a way for Scoot to be consistent. Because, you know, these past couple games, he didn't really gave them nothing. They didn't have a chance to handle them. I bet the game they won, wasn't it? The game they won, he had 27? Yeah, I think the first game he had like 25.
19:03Shannon Sharpe:The second game he had like 30. I think the first two games, you know, he was balling out. I was thinking like, man, if he going to play like this, because he's the one guy who has that youth on his side, youth and athleticism on his side, and who can attack in the open court and make plays. He just kind of, I don't know, when they got back to Portland, he just wasn't the same. But here's the thing, though, Joe. The problem is he only plays 17 minutes. Everybody else, I mean, you play the same number of minutes as backup guys. He's not going to be able to, you got to let him have some run. Kamara had 33 minutes.
19:42Shannon Sharpe:And Denny had 32 minutes. Klingon had 27. Holiday had 40. You give a start, all those guys played at least 27 minutes to start a lineup. He got 17? So he's probably looking around like, damn. Now, what's going to happen next year when Dame comes back? That's what I want to know. They got some decisions to make. You can't care. What you're going to do? I mean, you'd like to keep Holiday because he's a veteran presence. He can defend, play both ends of the court. Hey, Uncle Joe, let's say when Dame does come back next year, Joe, you say that they have some decisions to make. Based on what you saw in this series, the decisions shouldn't be that hard.
20:23They shouldn't be that hard because you see when it's nut cutting time, who you can depend on, who can score.
20:30Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, but you don't want to start the growth of some of these young cats like School Henderson. You know what I mean? Like if you send them to the bench, if you send them to the bench, Uncle Ocho. Damn, I mean, I ain't saying he... Just go ahead and move him. That's all I'm saying. But, you know, at the same time, he the youngest out of Dame and Holiday. So, I don't know. Is Holiday on the contract? Is he a free agent? I think they might have gave Holiday an extension. Look and see if they gave Holiday an extension. Plus the fact Sheldon Sharp. What they gonna do with him? He gave six minutes, y 'all.
21:02Shannon Sharpe:He can't do anything with that. And I remember in the middle of the season, he was playing well. Man, they was featuring him and they offense, man. It don't even make sense to me. I'm like, how does man go from not even playing? He can't even get no clock. He don't even look like the same player when he is out there. Oh, shit. Shaden Sharp. Shaden Sharp. Yeah. I don't know, man. I don't know. I thought that Portland liked him. But they do. He's been a non-factor. You ain't really noticed him in this series. Nope. He played basically Moppa. I mean, he played six minutes tonight. Like, I mean, think about it, Joe.
21:38Shannon Sharpe:He had five points in six minutes. Now, I don't know if he's not playing deep. I don't know what's going on. But it's going to be a similar situation where you're going to have to treat it like Philly did with Jerry McCain. Remember, Jerry McCain was playing really well. He broke his ankle. He didn't play the rest of the year. They draft B.J. Edskum. And guess what? They said, nah, we ain't got no more room for you, bro. Instead of just have him sit on the bench and come off the bench, trade him. They traded him to OKC. Yeah. a reliable and valuable backup because you know now with Edgecombe and Maxie, you just gave Maxie Max deal.
22:11Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. He ain't going to get no real minutes. Nope. So if that's the case, you might as well do something very similar with school. Yeah, you're going to have to. The only thing is you got two veteran guards that's in like their mid-30s, meaning Dame and Holiday. I don't know if you want to get rid of them, though. They're youth and athleticism that he has. they got to hope that he can find some way to be consistent throughout the season and maybe still be the future. I don't know if you get rid of him because you're going to be relying on two mid-30-0s and you know how that can go. Dame is coming off an injury, coming off an Achilles injury.
22:52Shannon Sharpe:Now, the difference is he didn't rush back. He had plenty of time to recover. He should be good. Let's hope he's good. Let's hope he can get back because if he can get back to – I mean, I'm watching Jason Tatum, and hell, if you didn't know, you wouldn't know Jason Tatum had that injury. Nah. You wouldn't know Kevin Durant had that injury. Nah. So if Dame can come back and be Dame, they're going to be a dangerous team. Yeah, you know. When Dame was at his apex, I mean, coming out of the West, considering what OKC is now currently, considering what you see with the San Antonio Spurs are currently, if Denver could stay healthy, what they are currently, The T-Wolves are always dangerous because Ant-Man is just going to be hard.

23:35Shannon Sharpe:But I just don't know, you know. Denny is amazing. He's been an all-star, Holiday. They got to make some decisions. Look, the team is being sold. Yeah. This is what we know when the team is being sold. But they got some decisions to make. And it seems like the owners are already doing cost-cutting moves. They got to check out by 12 because they don't want to get charged for an extra day. They didn't get playoff T-shirts. So they've already making – so it looks like to me, Joe, they've already started the cost savings. Yeah, but I don't understand that, though. I don't know why they owner would do such a thing, bro, why he would act like that.
24:13Shannon Sharpe:Like, you don't get no playoff shirts, bro. This is like – this is the best part of the season, okay, Ocho? Yes. You going there, you got that thing black – And you checking out the hotel, Joe. Huh? You got to check out by 12 because we don't get charged for extra day. The first bus ain't until 3 o 'clock. You mean we got what? Go on over to the stadium. Get your locker, get your headphones on, get right. Hey, Joe, it's the reason they billionaires, bro. Hold on, though, hold on, though. What are these guys coming from who buying the team or who own the team right now? They own the Hurricanes, Tom Dunning.
24:45Shannon Sharpe:The Carolina Hurricanes? Yeah. Yeah, hockey team. Man, see, it's, you know, different sports do different business, bro. Yeah, hey, they straight business mind, Joe. Straight business. Man, come on, man. Not about owning. Listen, owning a sports team is a hobby for them. I get all that, Ocho. But you can't be making guys check out, bro, the first bus ain't till 3 o 'clock. What we about to do, sit in the lobby? Yeah, sit in the lobby, hold your back. Come on, man. Come on. Come on. What they doing at that? You better ask for a late check out. You got to. Hey, that's funny. Man, this day all changed.
25:24Shannon Sharpe:It's tough. You know, that's a part of Paul Allen, the former Paul rested soul. He owned the Trailblazers and he owned the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks are being sold. They believe they're going to fetch somewhere north of seven, eight, maybe even nine billion dollars. That was in his estate, his planning. But look, I want them sold, X, Y, and Z. And I think he says they're going to donate the money to charity. What do you mean? It ain't going to go to his kids? Ain't nothing going to go to his kids? I don't think he had kids. He put his sister in charge. And that was his request. I don't think Paul Allen had kids.
26:11Shannon Sharpe:No, he goes to charity. That man bought his paper, huh? Yeah, man. No, no, he's going to charity. Wow, all of it. That's crazy. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, he's very, very philanthropic. But yeah, Portland's got to make – because they got – look, Denny, you can build around Denny. Scoop is a – I like Scoop. I like Klingon. He's a big – he ain't Wimby here, Jokic, but he's a – but hell, who are? Who is? Nobody. But I like Shaden Sharp. I like him because I've seen flashes from him that lets me know if he gets consistent minutes, he can be good. Maybe it's a confidence thing. I don't know. I don't either.
27:02Shannon Sharpe:Because before this thing hopped on, because early in the season, he was playing a lot of minutes. He was getting 25, 30 minutes, Joe. I think when the Denny Cats started picking up his plate, I can't show you. You know, he was an all-star this year. because they basically pretty much play the same position. I think this is who they're going with. And I think the sharp kid, I think that was Chauncey. I think that was his – I think that was one of his guys. Yeah, I think that was one of his guys that, you know, he enjoyed – he tried to feature. I don't necessarily think Splinter was, you know, really messing with him like that.
27:41Shannon Sharpe:I mean, hell, it was obvious. He wouldn't give him no clock. But these thigh balls still in the league? Yeah, that's what I said. He came in there and got him some minutes. Too many. Play 15. One of six. He got too many minutes. That's the problem. He got 15 minutes. One of six. 0-5 from three. Bro, ay. You know what I want to know? What's that? Is who the Spurs gonna have next and what's gonna be a great matchup for him between Denver, Denver and Minnesota? Minnesota? Minnesota. T-Wolves, Denver and T-Wolves. Hey, you think about it, Uncle Joe, regardless of who they get, whether it's the Wolves or whether it's the Nuggets, neither one got enough firepower to deal with them boys.
28:31You don't think so? No, Joe.
28:33Shannon Sharpe:I think I wanna see Denver. I ain't gonna lie. I wanna see Denver too. But Denver is a two-headed monster. It's a two-headed monster. That's the only thing. You don't wanna see Minnesota without Ant-Man. Ant-Man gone for a couple of weeks. By the time Ant-Man get back, hell, it'll be down 3-0. That's why I say I want to see Denver because Denver pretty much full of strength besides maybe, you know, the Pat Watson kid. But outside of that, you know, they full of strength. And I think Wimby, you know, he'll probably play some decent defense against Jokic. Oh, yeah, he played great defense against Jokic.
29:08Shannon Sharpe:Because you see Jokic struggling against Rudy, and he has better lateral movement than Rudy. Yeah. And he's taller than Rudy. He gave Wimby 40, though, by the last couple games of the season. He gave that boy 40 before the playoffs started, though. So I don't know. We don't know how they can go. Let's go back and look at the three games, because I think Wimby got the best of them. The last game, now, where they really had to have it, yeah, Jokic gave them, but Wimby was giving them that work. Yeah, it's going to work. Yeah, Wimby put it on them a couple times, Joe. No, no, no, no. Listen, Jokic ain't going to be able to do nothing with him defensively now.
29:41Shannon Sharpe:Right, no. He ain't going to be able to do nothing with him. He can't contest his shot, hell. He can't out-rebound him. He ain't going to be able to do nothing defensively. He just got to attack him offensively and make him work. I think if you any team and you playing against the Spurs, bro, you have to be extra physical with Wimby. I'm saying to beat him because you let him roam around that paint freely and not get chugged, not get hit. Boy, he going to be a bad weapon. Hey, Joe, you neutralized Wimby. What? You still got to deal with Fox. Yeah. You do two last boxing, Wimby. Now you got to deal with Vassal.
30:17Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Joe. What's up? Let me give you a little squeeze. What happened? What that is? I don't know what that man there got. Ocho. Yeah, that he got who? What happened? I don't know what it is. What you mean? I just know I don't want it. You all right, bro? Oh, I just got a little cold. I'm a little old. Let me get a little squeeze. Hey, you ain't mean to get no rest, have you? Nah, I ain't had a chance to get no rest the past four days. I think - Hey, let me tell you something. Yeah. If you don't get no rest, your body gonna make you rest, partner. Yeah. It made me rest yesterday. Yeah, you gonna have to get some rest, hey.
30:54Shannon Sharpe:Your immune system. That what y 'all call it? Okay. What you think? Oh, you think he - What? Hey, Unk. Unk, you trying to be fine. Hey, Unk. Nah, nah, nah. Hold on, hold on. Hey Joe, we been talking like, man, I ain't heard about no bull head. Mm-hmm. He ain't never heard of it. He ain't never heard of it. See? Hey, so we gonna take the common, we gonna take the common cold and turn it into something else, huh? Call? Boy, you live in Miami. Hey. Joe, how that man got a cold in Miami that's 80 degrees every day? You got to everybody know I sleep with my AC on 60 degrees. I don't know what you do.
31:32Shannon Sharpe:All I know is one moment you walking straight, you walking great. I mean, everything great. You talking good. Hey, Joe. Here we are today. Now look at it. Hey, Joe. What's up? Hey, he jealous of my voice, Joe. That's all it is. Nah, nah, nah. Hey, this is that Quiet Storm radio host voice right now. All right. I ain't jealous of whatever you got. I don't want it. Hey, it's just a little sore throat. I got my, what's this called? Yeah, I got my NyQuil, severe colon. You took something already? Yeah, just one little drop. NyQuil gonna put you out. You gonna make it? Oh, yeah, I'm gonna make it. Oh, yeah.
32:06but when it's time to work Joe Lime, Joe, I don't -
32:08Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, either the night quill or what he got to put him out, one or the other. One or the two. Hey, hey, hey, Joe, honestly - Whoa, Lord, man, come on, old Joe. My bad, my bad, my bad. What a spray, man, what a spray. My bad. Hey, you know what? I appreciate y 'all bearing with me and doing these difficult times. Barrett? Come on, man.
32:41Hey.
32:42Shannon Sharpe:He talking about the calm. Ain't nothing common about what you got. I ain't got nothing but a little cough. And when you have a little cough, it make your voice deep. Okay. Hey, Joe. Hey, Joe, you ain't ever had no deep voice? Hey, not like that, old Joe. Hey, but my girl like that. Boy, I don't know who you is right now, but I like it. Hey, you better, hey. Yeah. Huh? You better keep your nose out of there, boy. Oh, no, I ain't got nothing to do with it. I ain't got nothing to do with it. I ain't been scuba diving in a minute, Joe. I'm on a celibacy journey. I don't blame her. Oh, I am. You ain't been to get me sick.
33:17Yeah.
33:18Shannon Sharpe:Cambodia all of a sudden. Watch tomorrow Cambodia come up coughing. Nah, nah, nah, nah. Oh, man. Hey, what you doing? Semen retention? What you doing this for? What's going on? You trying to live a better life? Oh, no. just a 48 hour journey. 48 hours? What you doing for 48 hours? Your stomach hurting for 48 hours for what? Nah, no sex. That's all. I'm just trying to see what is it about a celibacy journey that people love doing so much? You ain't on it long enough to know. Right. Right. So that 48 hours ain't nothing. Now, if you want to talk to me, talk to me about 48 days. Hey, you know what I learned in those 48 hours, Joe?
34:00What'd you learn? It's a waste of fucking time.
34:03Shannon Sharpe:Exactly. Hey, because whatever reason you waiting for months for, them same issues gonna rise when your ass start back acting. Yep. Waste of goddamn time. Hey. I apologize for my call for my voice tonight. I'm here to work. All right. Okay. All right. Oh, yeah. Joe, I'm sorry.

38:06Shannon Sharpe:Jayla Brunson scored 39 points as the Knicks run one shot. Oh, yeah. Hawks to take a 3-2 series lead. With a second straight lopsided victory, The Knicks position themselves to win the series Thursday night in Atlanta. They would have another chance at home. Game seven if need. Hey, look. Joe. Talk to me, y 'all. Y 'all got it, Joe. Y 'all can't let J.B. Brunson get going like that. Joe? He got loose on us today. He got loose on us. Hey, listen. They won't win game six here, okay? He got loose tonight. He got loose. They got it going. He got into a nice little rhythm. And I think they done woke CJ down a little bit.
38:50Shannon Sharpe:Hell, we done. You saw that too? We been on CJ back all damn series. Hell, he tired, man. The man tired. You hear me? But he's going to have to muster it up for game six, bro. We're going to need everybody to step up and be aggressive and play a lot better. Obviously, it's win or go home. We got to get the fans here in Atlanta, you know, something to cheer about on Thursday night. I believe in it. I still think we got a chance, guys. I really do. I still think we got a chance. We got to play better, no question. But we... Ojo, you okay? We just can't... Hey, we just can't let Brunson get out on us like this.
39:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, this is the first time he really got out on us in the series. Yes. We'll be better. We'll be better game six. We'll be better game six. They showed out on us tonight. Joe, but y 'all was minus 15 from the free throw line, minus 21 on the boards. I don't know. Joe, you can't give up that many rebounds. I mean, CJ was 0 for 3 from the free throw line. I don't know what's up with the free throws. You say we can't give up what, that many rebounds? Yeah, Joe, y 'all got out-rebounded 40. Y 'all got out-rebounded 48 to 27, minus 21 on the boards. We're the Hawks. Hey, give the Knicks credit. I'm going to give them their credit.
40:12Shannon Sharpe:They played a hell of a game tonight, And you can tell that Mike Brown, he wanted those guys to be more aggressive, more physical, and they were today. They were the more physical team. They were desperate, bro. They knew they had to win that game at home. They can't come back to Atlanta down 3-2. Yeah. The funny thing about it, Joe, you know? Yeah. You know the Knicks not coming in.
40:40Look at Hunk, man. Hey. Hey. Hey, Joe, I know you got confidence in your Knicks. In my Knicks? Confidence in your Hawks, Joe. Okay. But this one is over.
40:52Shannon Sharpe:No, it ain't over. Hey, listen, C.D. McCollum, he done wore down, man. He ain't got the leg to be able to carry them boys like that. You know, you talk about Jalen Johnson all the time. Obviously, I see exactly what you see in him, but he's not doing enough, Joe. He's not doing enough. He was 7 for 15 tonight. I think he had 18, 1 for 5 from 3. You can't do that. I mean, if he's supposed to be that boy, it's the night he's supposed to take over. If McCollum ain't going, I need Young Bull. Man, I got this, man. Go ahead and chill. And you got 17 from Dyson Daniels, who really hadn't had a scoring output like he had tonight.
41:24Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Kamingo gave you 13. Look, I mean, you're not expecting Kamingo to give you 27 like he did that one night, Joe. You're thinking probably somewhere between 10 and 18, 10 and 17 points. You can live with that from Kamingo. But you'd like to see all your starters and double figures. But it seems like if CJ doesn't get going, you guys really don't have much outside of CJ, Joe. Yeah, I just think, you know, his veteran presence helped. But he looked a little step or two slow tonight, fellas. He looked like he was tired. I ain't going to lie to you. I was like, damn, hey, we done wore CJ down.
42:01Shannon Sharpe:And this, hey, about the fifth game of a series is when guys started to be, you know, started to get bogged down a little bit. you start to get a little tired because, you know, the pressures of playing the game, the physicality of the game, it wears you down. And that's what you try and do to any great player or any star player on the opposing team. You think, hell, the first couple games, yeah, he may be decent, but by game four, five, six, hopefully, you know, we can keep him at bay. And I thought the Knicks done a great job today. I mean, they were super physical, bro. They were super ready to play.
42:34Shannon Sharpe:Hell, they kicked our ass from start to finish. As long as you know, Joe. Y 'all got somebody to shoot 57%, Joe. OG, 5 of 8. Cat, 5 of 7. Josh Hart was a little off tonight. He was 3 of 8. Then you had Mikael Bridges, 3 of 6. Then you had Brunt, 15 of 23. You had Sosian, 4 of 4. Mitchell Robinson, 3 of 3. Jordan Clarkson, 3 of 7. Jose Alvarado, the Desperado, got off at 12 points. Hey, man. Hey, Joe, what that money looking like on your end, Joe? We didn't bet this game. What you mean? It was the following game. We bet a game six for 500, remember? Why would you switch? Hold on. I'm confused. I told you.
43:20Shannon Sharpe:I tried to tell you. He tried to tell you to read the fine print. Hold on. Why would you skip a whole game and go to the last game instead of the next game? Because he wanted to get them back in Atlanta. That's why. And I tried to tell you. I said, don't show you realize this next game is game five, and it's in New York. You're like, I don't care. It don't matter. Hey, Joe. What's here? Double or nothing, then? Now, how can it be double or nothing? Y 'all didn't bet on this game. Because he was supposed to bet me tonight. Man, you can't just skip a whole game. That ain't how it work. That's the bet we made, Ocho.
43:52No, that's the bet you made. Don't be changing the rules. You agreed to the bet. You bet 500.
43:58Shannon Sharpe:He threw it out there. You betted it. I tried to tell you yesterday, Ocho. This will be game five. It's in New York. You said you didn't care. You know what? I ain't even tripping. You know what? Since he want to be slick, I ain't even tripping. Because what you try to do ain't for the payout. That's why we sending y 'all ass home anyway. Okay, bet the 500. Hey, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Since he want to be slick, put another 500 on top of it. Oh, Joe, how was I being slick? I made the bet. Partner, I told you specifically. I think game's slick. Joe, if you have confidence in your goddamn Hawks, why would you be worried about where they playing at?
44:30Either you betting on your team or not? Yeah, I'm betting on my team.
44:33Shannon Sharpe:but I can skip a game because we can give up a game. I feel like the Knicks were going to be desperate. I knew they were going to have to win this game. I wasn't betting this game, Ocho. So you really think the Hawks are going to come back and win just because they're playing in that goddamn Atlanta? Yeah, we're going to win game six. So you're betting against big body Brunson again? Yeah, yeah. See, that's your problem, bro. You're hard-headed, boy. You're hard-headed. Like my grandma used to tell me, boy. Huh? Hard-headed, make it so fast. You hear me? I want my 500 zealot to me. I bet I want mine in cash Like when I see you I want you to hand me mine I want you to hand me my money Hey just FYI right Hey it's cool Bronson had 39 15 for 23 3 for 5 And you think y 'all finna stop that Man stop playing with me man He was at home he had a great game Hold on That's one thing it don't matter with him it don't matter whether he's home or where he gonna give the same work no no no game six gonna be a lot different pimp pay attention bet another 500 on top of that 500.
45:42Shannon Sharpe:we have 500 man what you trying to do bro put it put it on the floor make it easy for yourself joe fine we have 500 we have 500. look if we go to game seven if we go to game seven game seven i'm gonna bet you joe it ain't joe make it a thousand Joe. We at 500 bro. Yeah.
46:04Shannon Sharpe:Hey Joe whatever you lose just go ahead and send that to me. Don't even let Elcho see it. Don't even worry about it Elcho. Hold on hold on. Don't do that. Don't side bet. Don't jump in this now. Don't jump in this. What do you mean jump in this? Hey listen. Hey Unc let me tell you something. It's a whole completely bet from you. You take that money I'm going to have to jump on both you niggas now. Let me ask you a question. What's up? Let's just say you get if you get a big payday, let's just say somebody gets a big payday. They're a fighter, whatever. And you owe the IRS. Do you get that check or do the IRS get their cut first?
46:36I understand that, Unc, but you're not the IRS. Yes, I am. I'm J-R-S. We have understanding. Shannon, Ronaldo, Shark.
46:50Shannon Sharpe:I'm S-R-S. So I need that. Run that. Alright. Yeah. All right. Yeah, listen. What's up? All right. I mean, I hate half the – listen, Joe is going to get all the smoke, but it seems like he want to be part of the smoke too, so there's going to be a whole lot of furniture moving around. I don't get that goddamn money. But I'm just saying, why are you pressing Joe about$500 that y 'all didn't bet tonight? You pressing him about$500 you didn't bet. I'm pressing him about believing in this Hawks team for the next game, which is game six, since they're playing in Atlanta, and I'm telling the 500 I thought we bet, put another 500 on top of it since you feel so good about your team, and let's see how it go on Sweet Jesus.
47:34Shannon Sharpe:I think he felt good about it. I think he felt good about it. That's why he bet the 500. That's what I'm saying. And I just told him, double it up, bet another five. I don't want to double it up. I'm good. Because you know y 'all finna lose. No, I don't. I told you what's going to happen. I'm really trying to say you need to chill. Hey, don't save me, boy. My pocket's long, boy. Okay. Oh, they are, huh? Pockets long, huh? I'm just saying. They really long, okay. Check it out. Y 'all see that? This man bragging about his pocket. Hold on, I can't get my money, but he's a president Joe about a bet he didn't even make.
48:07You got to understand, I can say that because I don't spend no money. I don't spend nothing. That's all. Clearly you don't pay bets either. I'm just trying to get a little drag with it, that's all, man. Be smooth. Be smooth, cat.
48:19Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, he gonna try to pop it. He gonna try to pop it on me, but yeah. Yeah. Hey Joe, because Joe, listen, we gonna be some furniture moving, you don't give me that money, I know that. Hey man, hey look, look, don't threaten me with no good time, homeboy. Yeah, yeah, I don't know what you think this is. Hey, I told you, I told you what they call me, right? What they call you, Hella Hand? They call me Hella Hand. It's gonna feel like you're fighting two people now. Hey, make the right choices. I just tried to figure, I just tried to figure out how this man wanna bet. Chad, I know, Chad, I know the guys in here, I know y 'all done bet at the table, y 'all don't roll dice and shot pool.
48:52Shannon Sharpe:Now somebody want to take your money. They owe you. But they betting all the people around you and they got a handful of money. They got a handful of money around the dice, around the crap table. They playing cards. They shooting pool. Whatever the case. They got a handful of money. Bet this. Hey, bet the 10 or 4. Bet the 6 or 8. Bet the 5 or 9. What about pay me what you owe me or give me a little something on it? Hey, I got you. Give me a little piece of money, Ocho. I got you. Well, hey, listen to me. One thing about it, boy, if you'll never be broke because I always got you. You hear me? I'm broke right now.
49:29No, you ain't. What you need? Tell me what you need. $5 ,900. I got you. I'm going to send it to you right now. Hey, Ocho, you the type to pull somebody to the side in a dice game.
49:40Shannon Sharpe:But, hey, man, let me hold 1 ,000. Then you'll jump right out there and fade him. Yeah. No hell he won't. Hey, matter of fact, Joe. I don't play that. You not going to fade me? with my money. Hey, I'm the type to come to the dice game and take everybody money. And I ain't talking about shooting no dice either, Joe. With no mask? Yeah, no mask. That's me, Joe. Man, you ain't finna roll up in there and try to lay nobody down without doing it. Hey, listen, man. Hey, hey, hey, hey, Joe. I'm basically Omar from the wire, Joe. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, man. So you must be no plan on ever coming back right there again.
50:12Nah. Cause I know you ain't think somebody
50:14Shannon Sharpe:finna let you roll up in there, lay the whole place down, and then you walk back up in there next week like ain't nothing happened. I'm gonna lay it all the way down and you know exactly where I'm gonna be at after two. Nah, nah. You ain't gonna live alone, partner. Trust me. Hell, dawg. Hey, hey Joe. Boy, life gonna be short for you. I don't get that goddamn 500, boy, you hear me?
50:39Shannon Sharpe:Somebody might take all the money, but they damn sure ain't coming back to Ryan there no more. No, sir. Nah. And they're not gonna be from Ryan there. That might be somebody from somewhere else. Yeah, always. Whenever that happens. Boy, the boy let you have it. That's why you gotta be careful. That's why you gotta be careful. You at them hood games, Joe, them side, them house games. Them little gambling houses. Boy, look here. You gotta be real careful, cause everybody got something. Everybody got a stick on them. Everybody. And all that loud talking you get to threatening. Yeah. Somebody drop the ham on your ass.
51:14Shannon Sharpe:Chitty, chitty, bang, bang. Yeah. Hey, I don't think we're A, bro. Hey, no, I bet, hey, the hell no, I caught, bro, hey, here, here,$40, he caught him. Roll some more. You about to call me to get smooth up out of here. Hey, that's the last thing I need. Somebody got capped and shadow sharp with their house dice game. Oh yeah. Oh, Joe. Come on now. You get knocked off at the gambling house, man, playing with people money like that, bro. Oh, for sure. Hey, hold on, Joe. You understand where I'm from, Joe? Huh? You understand where I'm from, boy? Joe, I'm from Dade County, boy. The original gamblers, you hear me?
51:52You carry their stick on you? We talk about gambler houses, CeeLo. Yeah, man, they got those damn stick. He ain't got no stick? You don't carry no stick? I got a few of them, Joe. Do you carry them, though? Yeah, yeah. It's a carry state. Joe, you don't need a license. Yeah, it's Florida, boy.
52:10Shannon Sharpe:But the thing is, I never took my piece up in there with me because I already know. Yeah. But me, hey, I'm cool. I ain't finna argue, get carried on. You know, we play poker, whatever the case may be. It ain't that serious. Oh, you used to go to gambling house? Yeah. I ain't going to no gambling house. Hell no. But you know what, Joe? I had to stop. Because you know what I'm saying? I'm like, man, I'm going to show them that I'm still sharp. You know, I can walk around here. I know everybody here. I went to school with most of them. My sister went to school with them, or my uncles went to school with them.
52:45And for the most part, they're like, hey, after the game over with,
52:50Shannon Sharpe:hey, we go, hey, you going back to town? Yeah, give me a ride. Okay, we go to Huddle Highs. We break bread. Cool. It was never that serious. But I just realized, you know what? Hey, I ain't got to prove it. I ain't got to prove it. Hey. Hey, if y 'all don't know Shanna Sharp from Libya, Georgia, I've lived there my whole life. I'm cool. Yeah. Joe, I don't put myself in them situations, Joe. I'm just talking. I never, ever, ever, ever put myself in them situations. Even when I tried to during my day, Joe, the people around me wouldn't even allow me in them type of environments in general. I'll just be honest now.
53:32I know I'm playing around, but nah. Gambler house sitting on the corner. There's certain stuff, you know, them people out the 40s, man. Nah.
53:39Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I used to go, hey, when I come back, Ocho, the boys, they stand around the corner. I go get about five or six pieces, go get them tupper cases, eat a couple of slices with them. Boned out, man. Y 'all good looking out, man. You ain't changed at all. You right, but I'm finna get up out of here. Yeah. Hey, Joe, it was different back then in the day. Joe, boy, it was a lot of structure and discipline out, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. A lot of structure and discipline, Joe. Ocho. Oh yeah, no. They don't care nothing about that. Them guys had that stuff on them, they wouldn't even take a ride back from me.
54:15Shannon Sharpe:They was like, nah, Sharp. You got to go. Because I got that stuff on me. And if we get stopped, last thing I want, somebody's gonna say it because you the guy. They gonna say, oh, Shannon Sharp, such or such, nothing, nah, we don't even want that, bro. Hey, we appreciate it, but nah, we good. Yeah, thanks. But these guys don't care. Now, like I said, them guys, hey, they wouldn't, the guys that I grew up with, they would never even raise they voice or get upset or even think about pulling the tool out with me around. Now, they might know who I am, but they ain't grow up with me like that. Them dudes grew up with me.
54:52Shannon Sharpe:They grew up with my uncle, they grew up with my sister. They watch over my sister. Hey, I'll lend the guys money. Hey man, let me get$100. I said, look, you gonna pay my sister back up money? I said, Libby, rest of your souls, dude named Squirrely. He would always borrow money. Hey, call your brother. She would call me, hey, Squirrely paid me, paid your money back. I said, all right. Everybody would always pay my sister. Could I give, obviously I had the money. They watched out for me. I wouldn't even think about it. You couldn't give me enough money to go to the gambler house now. Dude like that.
55:27Shannon Sharpe:Hey, as you get older, it's a lot of things you wouldn't do, boy, that you did in your 20s and 30s. Yeah. I'm talking about you. You look back, you be like, man, what the hell? Oh, for sure. Joe, look here. Hey, you don't know how many times I say, God, if you get me out of this, I promise God and a few more gods, I'd never be back in a situation like this. Yeah, yeah. Hey, some things you just got to, like I said, I could write a book and guarantee you spend about two years on the New York Times bestseller list. Yeah. Cause what I done seen, what I've experienced. Ooh we. Hey. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
56:06Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I already know. Crazy, crazy. You know what? Something you just, like I said Joe, my casket gonna be real heavy. Cause I'm taking a lot of secrets in the grave. My casket gonna be real heavy. Hey, I got a few I'm taking with me too, okay. Hey, Joe, they said to my skeleton, man, I got a whole graveyard. You got a skeleton. That's a graveyard. Go and take it with you, take it to the grave, bro. Don't nobody need to know what you got going on or what you did and what you didn't do. Yeah, hell yeah. But it's a different time now, Ocho. Joe, you know it's a different time. The respect that guys once had, them young boys don't have that no more, man.
56:51Shannon Sharpe:They said fire to you. I got our situation, come on. Now, if I got caught in a situation like I got caught before, ain't no way I'm coming up out of that. No. Boys ain't got no conscience nowadays, man. No, no. Because he's looking at it like, I think because I'm Shannon Sharp that I can come and holler at his girl. He's not holding her culpable or responsible. How did I even know where she lived? How I get in the house? Yeah. Without her telling me, without her opening the door, how did I get this far? But he's just looking at it like I'm being disrespectful. I can't be disrespectful to something I don't know.
57:33Shannon Sharpe:But Martin Porter used to say all the time, everybody got somebody. It's just to what extent. I'm telling you. Everybody got a wife, a significant other. Everybody got somebody. It's just to what extent. Now, somebody might not even like her. He doing his own thing. But let somebody else show interest in him. Ooh. And see how, boy, look here. And watch our fans all of a sudden. Man, that's about to, bro, she said y 'all ain't been together in two years. But now that's your girl. Yeah. Come on, fam, I'm good. I'm good. You ain't got to tell me, hey, bro, that's your, hey, my thing, that's your people?
58:14Shannon Sharpe:Okay, bro, I ain't know. Yeah. Hey. Yeah, cause there's some cats out here that knock you off about that girl now. Yeah, I know something that's done knock some people off about some girls. Yeah, hey, hey, hey, especially the ones who sprung off that hoo-ha. Yeah! Hey. But the thing, Joe, what's so troubling, guys, is that they being trifling, they doing something.
58:43Shannon Sharpe:Bro, I don't fool with them young kids no more. I know, hey, I keep it speaking and keep it moving. Right. I'm only there for as long as I need to be. I ain't spending no extra time. Like I said, I used to go, hey, yeah. I had to go, hang out, kick about three, four hours. Yeah. Yeah. Everybody, I'm the only one that ain't got a stick on me. Yeah, yeah. Oh, they got that straight raise. You know back in the South, they keep that straight raise on them too now. Oh, yeah, oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, boy, they cut you three ways deep, wide and continuous. A straight razor or a knife, they gonna keep it on them.
59:22Shannon Sharpe:Oh, they're poking that. Yeah, yeah. As a matter of fact, I gotta get me a little pocket knife. What you know about a pocket knife? I got a little pocket knife, a buck knife. You know what a buck knife is, Joe? Yeah, I do. I got a little buck knife. I brought it for my brother for$250. Yeah. I still got it. Hey, Joe, what you getting the pocket knife for, Joe? It doesn't have it on me. I might have to open up some boxes or something. I don't know. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hey. Okay. But see, that's a Southern thing. Because them jokes used to let that fluid up out of you. They kept that Hulk blade on them.
59:59Shannon Sharpe:You know that Hulk blade joke? Yeah. Yeah. Pull you to him. Oh, don't run. Come back. Copenhagen's spit-free pouches are packed full of American-grown tobacco. Made for welders. 1:03:42Shannon Sharpe:Put the whole plate on you. Hey. Yeah. Joel Embiid scored 33 points. As the 76ers beat the Celtics, won 13-97 in the game five to keep their season alive. After scoring two points in the first quarter, on one of six, Joel Embiid finished, scored 13 in the second, 10 in the third, and eight in the fourth, when the Sixers went on the 12-0 run to turn a three-point lead into a 15-point runaway. Man, in that fourth quarter, they went to Joel Embiid like three, four times in a row. And he got a bucket or got fouled. Then Maxie hit a big three, and then Edgecombe come down here. Go ahead, Ocho, you want to say something?
1:04:21You know what? I'm glad. Before y 'all go, we just had a conversation, Joe, the other night about him. About him always being hurt. About how many games he's missed. Yeah. And I said the reason why he's getting the money he's getting is because of the value that he brings to that team when he is healthy, being a goddamn force on offense, a little liability on defense, but on offense, and he showed you tonight, based on the conversation we just had two nights ago. When a B get that ball down in that goddamn low block. Now, he missed from three tonight. I think it was over five from three, if I'm not mistaken.
1:04:56When he got that goddamn ball in that low block, boy, and turned them shoulders forward, I had that back to the basket. he had his motherfucking weight. He had a slick when Joe he had it back to the basket and hit the it's not the shimmy Joe it's the pom pom. Yeah. I'm like oh boy he in his bag boy. Yeah. He in the bag. When Joel Embiid playing like that and everyone else is still able to get still able to get theirs Maxie was able to do what he did. Maxie was still able to do what he wanted to do tonight. Paul George he was somewhat semi-efficient. I think he had 16, 15 or something like that.
1:05:34But, I mean, listen, I don't think the 76ers are going to win this series, but this was a goddamn good game. Hey, I mean, they got a decent chance, Uncle Ocho. I mean, considering the fact if they can shoot at this high efficiency level
1:05:52Shannon Sharpe:that they shot tonight. That's the key. And hold Boston below average. Yeah. Yeah, that's how they got a chance to win. The thing is you just can't have Maxi 6 for 26 or Embiid 4 for 18. You know what I mean? This is great efficiency. And can Embiid run it back? Can he run this game? Yeah. Can he run this game back, Ankh and Ocho? Can he give them this type of performance again in this series is what I'm asking. Because I think they can win. Oh, George had 43 minutes, Ocho. Joe, Edgecombe had 40 minutes for Maxie, 43 minutes Embiid, 39 minutes that's a quick turnaround because they play again on Thursday yeah so they're going to have to muster it up again if they want to continue to keep playing I thought for whatever reason Boston just didn't have it maybe they got a little bogged down but if Philly can play like this, bro, offensively and everybody be fishing like this, hell, they shot 50 % from the field.
1:06:57Shannon Sharpe:50 %? But what did they do? Something that teams rarely do to Boston. They beat them from the three. There you go. Yeah. Had a good night. Boston only got up 39. Boston's trying to get up 53s. They were level to 30. So they was under 30 % from the three. Boston's normally like 38, 40%, 45 % from the three. Yeah. And they're a volume three-point shooting team. but you make 38%, you make 40 % and you shoot 53 threes. Hell, you made 24 threes. Yeah. You probably not going to lose a game, Joe, in which you make 24 threes. It's just you're probably not going to lose the game. No, you're not. You're not.
1:07:41Shannon Sharpe:I think if they can stay at this high efficiency, what was the assist? They both had about 20, about 25. 24, 25. Yeah. The Celtics had 24. Celtics had 25. 25. Yeah, they made shots tonight. Taking care of the ball on the road. Yep. And they made shots. Being on the road, playing like this, you could tell they were locked in because they knew it was either win or go home. And that's the thing about closing a team out, man. It's hard to close teams out, bro. You know, especially when they desperate and they got some talent. Like, you know, I know San Antonio, they made it look kind of easy tonight.
1:08:18Shannon Sharpe:But, man, hey, Boston, they gave up a prime opportunity for them to get a little rest. Now they got to continue to fight. And I was surprised that Boston lost, considering there was plus 10 on the offensive glass. So how many second-chance opportunities does that present? But in that fourth quarter, they damn, they went to Embiid, and Embiid got the basket or he got fouled. It was really that simple. And then all of a sudden, Max said, X him. Started hitting threes. Yeah, and Grimes came along. Oh, Grimes was huge. Grimes hit two pull-ups. I'm talking about bombs. Yeah. Yeah. Five for eight from the field.
1:09:02Shannon Sharpe:Hey, man, when you got guys playing like that, bro, you shake their hand because they want you a game. You know, obviously, I think Paul George has been consistent. Like I've been saying from 16, 18 points this series at a high efficiency rate. He ain't taking a whole lot of shots. He letting Maxie and MB kind of rock out. Edgecombe was kind of quiet, but I like his energy and effort regardless. He hit that big three late. Oh, yeah, he hit a big three late. But if MB going to play like this here, they got a chance. Huh? They couldn't do nothing with him, Joe. He was in his bag. You hear me? He done pulled out every tool in his toolbox in that goddamn low block, boy.
1:09:44Everything.
1:09:44Shannon Sharpe:The matter is that he had 10 free throw attempts, lets you know he's aggressive. Yeah, I know he's from the three-point line.
1:09:55Shannon Sharpe:Okay, you missed your first three really bad, you probably shouldn't shoot anymore. But you know he's thinking, oh, the next one gonna go in. Go, go in. Yeah. But down in that block, he's like, you know what, let me get my big ass down here. Hello. You see how he made, Quint, they can't do nothing with that man down there nothing they gotta continue to fight him bro cause look you gotta think at 38-39 minutes like an Ocho he gonna be tired and he gonna be sore that's a lot of minutes on a body that size man that's a lot I sure hope he iced his knee it's a quick trip back from Boston to Philly but I got ice I got Game Red.
1:10:40Shannon Sharpe:I got Thermatech, Normatech boots on. I got all that stuff to try to keep that inflammation down, Joe. Hey, but that one day of rest, man, sometimes it don't be enough, bro. Hell no, it don't be enough. You know, because it ain't like he played a whole hell of a lot of games this year. So, you know, it may take him two or three days for that to kind of calm down. And he ain't got that right now. Joe, remember he had the appendix? Yeah. He just got back. So he was out like 14, 17 days. Yeah. Yeah. And you know, cardio don't take long. Cardio be gone in 72, 72, 96 hours. It's gone. Completely gone.
1:11:16Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you hunched over grabbing them shorts. Hell yeah. You think about it, you just got to think, if you Philly, man, damn, can NB give us two more games like this, bro? Because that's what they going to need for them to be able to get past this team. Yeah. NB got to get in that cold, that cold, that cold tub, right? Just sit in that cold tub, hot tub. I'm not sure. I'm sure they probably going to have it wherever he at. Get them, they had them legs feeling like he never ran a day in his life. I like him big game. I don't, I'm going to be honest with y 'all. I don't want him shooting a whole lot of threes.
1:11:48Shannon Sharpe:I think his mid range is so deadly. Yeah. Because guys are scared to get up on him because he can go around them. And he kind of give them that little hesitation to where he can get his mid range off. That's cash money. Or with his back to the basket, his little turnaround, his little shimmy turnaround. Like he was making that tonight. I think he can make that on a consistent basis versus just standing out there. Now, I know he can get hot from three, maybe make three out of five, something like that. But, man, if he know where his bread and his butter at, boy, hey, I wouldn't play no games with them bigs that they got.
1:12:20Shannon Sharpe:If I was him, I'd be putting that big shoulder into him, making him work every trip. Because if y 'all notice now, yet still, he in every pick and roll. Oh, yeah, for sure. I'm putting his ass in pick and roll. Yeah. Yeah, they still pick and roll in the depth. He just had a great offensive night. But, boy, they going to keep him working. That's why I say I know he going to be dead dog tired come Thursday. And if you think about it, I don't know about you, but I got in the cold tub after the game. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got in the cold tub like three to five minutes. Obviously, you know, you got obligations and stuff like that.
1:12:58Shannon Sharpe:Right, right, right. You got family and stuff, so you don't want to keep waiting too long. and then we'd have trash cans on the road. They'd have ice in it. We'd get an opportunity to sit in it and stuff like that. But, yeah, oh, yeah, you got to start that process. Hell, yeah. Yeah, I didn't do that. Bro, I'm 225, lean as hell. I got 6 % body fat. Them legs hurt. Hitting the ground hurt. I ain't touched that cold tub until Monday. Monday after the finish. No, no, hell no. But I'll be there. And by the time I get there on Monday, Ochoa, I don't do the hour cardio at home. Yeah, before you get there.
1:13:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I'm trying to get that soreness out. What kind of cardio? Probably bike. You can run 10, 12, 110, or you can do 20, 30 minutes on the bike. I thought it was being slick. Okay, okay, my bad. What? Oh, I got a little cardio here, too. Not after the night of the game. Okay, my bad, my bad, my bad. Oh, hell no. Okay. No, the night after the game, you can – No, no, the night like we played that Sunday and try to get a mean one Sunday night? Hell no, Joe. Hell no, Joe. What? Yes, sir. I don't want no problems. No, no, no, no. I couldn't do that, Joe. I wouldn't. Nothing like you get a good win, man.
1:14:20Shannon Sharpe:You feeling good. You know your vibe right. You got to hold that till Monday. No, sir. Let me get some fluid. Let me get a couple of meals in my system. I ain't finna hold you. Nah, I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. Hey, I tried it. That go back to college. I learned my lesson in college. You know, hey. Hey, you know what I'm saying? I was trying to shake the covers. You know what I'm saying? Trying to sneak a peek. Before a game? After the game. Nah, I'm good. Man, I locked up the cramp. Hey, the cramp had my legs. Da-da. Yeah! Like, what's wrong with you?
1:15:00Mm-mm. Hey. Hey, without even trying to do that, you locking up, especially when you're in bed chilling.
1:15:07Shannon Sharpe:Yes! Oh, yeah. Locking up, just out the blue. That childhood jump down on you, boy. Hey, you. And I'm a crapper. I cramp easy. Cause you know what I'm saying? I don't drink a whole lot of fluids when I'm playing, cause I don't like anything slushing around in my stomach, Ochoa, Joe. right yeah so i don't drink a whole lot and i'm already lean man i locked up man
1:15:32Shannon Sharpe:i don't know if you have you guys ever had i'm talking about your whole body just lock up no i had a partner did though for me it was either my my my hamstrings or my quads hamstrings and my quads i don't know it's like it'll start spazzing yeah i try i try to i try to i try to hit the hit hit the car so it don't spaz and lock up because once it lock up boy that's a pain you don't want to feel i locked up i locked up
1:16:04Shannon Sharpe:man i locked up in my roommate at the time the way in carl where we call him house and i was like house i'm screaming i need some help cool i said what's wrong what's wrong the homeboy i need some help man i said my body locked up on me he said cool i can't help you gotta put some clothes on
1:16:35Shannon Sharpe:I said, I can't put no clothes on He said, because I'm going to have to put you in a sheet and roll your body I'm having to get like five and a half bags of IV Damn Joe, I'm talking about everything I was just like this here You be sore as I don't know what after them cramping It felt like I had I had played a game, played another whole game. Yeah, yeah. I mean, my body – I mean, think about your body is in the distance position for like five, seven, eight minutes. Ooh. Bro, my body wouldn't even release until I got almost four bags of fluid in me. My body would not release. So I was just like this.
1:17:20Shannon Sharpe:So they had to hold my arm out, and the fluid's going in there. So my body, everything else is still just like this. Ooh. I know them feelings. I'm talking about it's going just like this. I mean, they gone, gone, gone. So now we get like three and three quarters, almost four bags. All of a sudden, it starts to relax. My body starts to relax. Yeah, but it took five and a half, five and a half bags of IV. That's because you hella dehydrated. Fully dehydrated. Super dehydrated. I dropped 12 pounds in two hours. Damn. I'm a sweater, Joe. And you ain't drinking no fluid, either? No. Yeah. That's a good and a bad thing, you know what I mean, Joe?
1:18:04Shannon Sharpe:I'm a sweater. I just said. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know exactly what you mean. That's me, too. I'm a sweater, too. I know what you mean, boy. It's embarrassing. It's embarrassing. It's embarrassing. Nah, baby. No, it ain't embarrassing. You keep on going. You keep on doing what you're doing.
1:18:21Shannon Sharpe:But, no, if Joe Allenby, you tell me Joe Allenby is going to play like this again on Thursday night? Yeah. I said they got a 65 % chance of winning. But I don't believe Boston is going to shoot 11 for 39 from the three. That's the problem that they had is that they were missing threes and they're going to keep taking them. I get it. But if you're going to get Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. I'm going to keep it real, though. You're right. It ain't going to be enough if Boston hitting on all the sellers. They making shots. because normally JT and JB, they've been pretty efficient. And then you got Peyton Pritchard and Houser and Derek White.
1:19:03Shannon Sharpe:And when those guys chip in and they play well, that's when they're hard to beat. When they're spraying their ball and everybody knocking down shots, well, they held them to play with. I mean, think about it. JT was 8 of 19. He was 4 of 12 from the three. JB, 9 of 23, 1 of 4. So 17, 21, 25. The starters was 7 of 25 from the three. Damn. They were getting them up, boy. They're going to get them up. They're going to get them up. And that's how they play because they don't mind having a bad night because normally when they have off nights like this, they lose. They do lose now. Imagine winning game day before the whistle blows.
