In short
Playoff recap and debate on Minnesota vs San Antonio (Game 4) and New York vs Philadelphia (Knicks’ sweep), plus predictions for Game 5 and what’s next for the 76ers.
Guests
Chad Ochocinco (former NFL Pro Bowler/All-Pro) and “Iso Joe” Johnson (7-time NBA All-Star, Atlanta Hawks). Co-hosts discuss basketball as former players.
Key claims
- Victor Wembanyama was ejected early for an excessive flagrant (elbow/shoulder area), and his absence swung the game.
- Minnesota won by free throws, 3-point shooting, and rebounding; Ant-Man (Anthony Edwards) was dominant.
- The Wolves’ physicality frustrated Wemby; he “earned” the ejection and will likely be fined, not suspended.
- Knicks beat the 76ers by shooting 18 threes (NBA record-tying), leading by 24; Philly’s future is uncertain due to Joel Embiid’s availability and contract.
Notable examples
- Ant-Man: 36 points, 40 minutes; limited 3 attempts (5).
- Wolves: 91% free throws, 49 rebounds.
- Knicks: 25/44 from three-point range in the game; Brunson 6/10 from three; McBride 7 threes.

3:44Shannon Sharpe:Well, we have ourselves a series thanks to a 114-109 victory by the Timberwolves. Victor Wimiyama got a flagrant two, got thrown out early in the ballgame. And I think that was probably the difference, but we'll never know. All I know is that the Minnesota Timberwolves tied this series up as it heads back to San Antonio, 114-109. Ant-Man was sensational. Six guys and double figures for the Timberwolves, and that was the difference in the ballgame. Thank you guys for joining us. Y 'all know who I am. 5:13Shannon Sharpe:It is a premium. VSOP Cognac, the smoothest, best-tasting VSOP Cognac on the market. It drinks like an XO, but it's smooth. And compared against other cognacs, you'll see immediately we have the best-tasting, smoothest VSOP Cognac on the market. Guys, let's jump right into it. Ant-Man was since... Huh? I'm hype. I'm hype. Ant-Man played 40 minutes. He had 36 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 13 of 22, but Julius Randle had 12 points. Jay McDaniels had 14 points. Rudy Gobert had a double-double, 11 and 13. Nas Reed chipped in with 15 points. He was 3 of 3 from the free throw line. Mike Conley, perfect from the field.
5:55Shannon Sharpe:Two or two field goals, two or two from the three-point line. Terrence Shannon Jr. had eight points. So basically everybody that played scored at least eight points with six of those guys in double figures. Give San Antonio credit. They played extremely well without their best player on the court, but I think it was just a little bit too much for them to overcome. Dylan Harper was sensational tonight. Castle played well. Vassell, De 'Aaron Fox, Champagne. Guys played well, but, you know, your best player only plays 12-minute guys. You're asking an awful lot. You're not talking about just a regular starter.
6:30Shannon Sharpe:You're talking about a defensive player of the year. We're talking about an MVP candidate, and you saw the stat that they put on the screen. You look at it, they were 8 for 18 in paint, but then he leaves the game. They're six for eight. And I believe that was the difference in the ballgame. Joe, we got ourselves a series now. It goes back to San Antonio. The Spurs did what they wanted to do. They came in and they got at least one game. They wanted to extend this series and that's what they were able to do. They would have loved to gotten both of these ballgames and there's a chance they could have, but they didn't.
6:59Shannon Sharpe:How was Minnesota able to withstand everything that San Antonio threw at them and still come away with a victory?
7:06Chad Johnson:Well, I mean, okay, Ocho, we got to be honest. You know, without Wimby, it's a pretty even damn game. Yes, sir. If you want me to be honest, this is for people who really enjoy, you know, the game of hoops. Like, when you talk about getting buckets, when you're talking about growing up playing in the park, bro, and, you know, okay, Ocho, you got guys who can really score the ball, and you got guys who can defend. I think this was – if you love two-way players, this was great because you got Castle, Vassell, Fox, Harper. Man, all these guys are great off the dribble, but so is that man, Dasamu, McDaniels, Shannon.
7:45Chad Johnson:I just thought, man, it was great basketball. Once Wimby went out, hell, I didn't know who was going to win. I'm going to be honest with you. I thought Fox got it going late, and Wimby's the biggest difference maker, man. Timberwolves have made this a series, but bruh, I'm talking about bucket after bucket, tough defense, making tough baskets, like just coming up clutch. Hey, look, let me tell you something. If you playing with that basketball around Fox partner, he probably gonna get his hands on it. Okay. That boy sitting down, babe, man. Hey, hey, Ocho. Them boy are some ball, man. This is a game tonight.
8:21Chad Johnson:I ain't gonna lie to you, but without Wimpy, I mean, I think the Spurs are still, they still competed. At one point I thought they were really gonna pull away and win this game. I did too. But Minnesota did what they had to do, bro. They evened up the series. Now they got to go back to San Antonio, but a hell of a ball game tonight. Yeah. Hey, Uncle Joe, I was kind of nervous. I was kind of nervous for the Wolves. Obviously, when Wimmy went out early in the second quarter, obviously, he has to learn to keep his composure, especially in situations like that. But this is exactly what you want to do to their best player.
8:53You want to antagonize him. You want to frustrate him. You want to be in a jersey. You want to be in the chest and get him to have moments like this, you know, but almost it seemed like the Spurs were still going to pull this off until the Wolves were able to come away with it towards the end of the game. That goddamn Ant-Man was phenomenal. Ant was phenomenal. And obviously he was playing on both ends. They were trying to track him a little bit. But one of the reasons why I think I think the Wolves did win this game free throws. they were 91 from three three point from three point line they were 37 and they went on the glass they were 49 outside of that i mean you got to figure out what you're going to do with when being game four wait game four game five game five yeah game five yeah game five you got to find a way to neutralize him in some kind of way of slowing down if you can't slow him down you know he's going to always get his you got to deal with the other folk you got to deal with other four people outside of that.
9:55That was a goddamn good, that was a good ass game.
9:57Shannon Sharpe:It was an outstanding ball game. Both teams competed. That's what you wanted to see. You hate to see Wimby get thrown out of the ball game. But I thought in that situation, he earned the right to get thrown out because it was excessive. It was above the head and shoulder area. I mean, it caught him cold in the jaw. But the thing was so surprising is that when they said it over to PA announcer, you see him grab Harrison Barnes and say, what does that mean? What does that mean? Yeah. He said, you're out of the game. He's like, oh, and you know, because he had no idea. You know, he heard flagrant too, excessive in X, Y, and Z.
10:29Shannon Sharpe:He didn't know. He had no idea. I don't think he realized that he could be thrown out. And he definitely didn't think he was going to be thrown out because a lot of times, Joe and Ocho, you know this, in certain situations, a playoff game in a regular season, it's a no-brainer. They ain't even taking that long. Right. They going over there to look, oh, yeah, man, that's excessive. He up out of here. But they like, guys, we got to throw him out. Did you see the force in which he landed that? And it was malicious. And it doesn't matter intent. Intent only matters to Wimby because guess what? Nas Reed jaw was still locked and he's on the floor and his head is hurting.
11:04Shannon Sharpe:So it doesn't matter if he intended to do it or not. I don't think they really had a choice in that matter. But I want to commend the San Antonio Furs for still competing the way they're competing. Because this game really didn't get decided until like the last 30 seconds in the ball game. because they almost got an eight-second call because they had the sumo trapped in the back corner. One thing you don't want to do in a situation like that, Joe, you know you don't want to get caught in the corner because they know where you can go. You can't throw the ball up because you're messing around and hit the back of the goal.
11:36Shannon Sharpe:And you can't see anybody. So they had him trapped. Good thing Chris Finch had one more timeout. He ran, and Williams was able to see him. The referee was able to see him and get that call. But they almost got him in an eight-second clock, and it's been very interesting to see what happened after that. Go ahead, Ocho. Now, I have a question. Uncle Joe, y 'all would probably know better than I do. And when you get thrown at a game like this, obviously you still got to get disciplined. Will they go as far as suspending Wimby for game five or will they just let this go?
12:04Chad Johnson:I don't think they'll suspend it. No, they're not going to suspend it for game five.
12:07Shannon Sharpe:He'll get fined. Okay, okay. Yeah, anytime you get thrown out of a ball game, it's a fine. Okay. No, they're not going to – that'll be excessive. And they're not going to – and, you know, you're not – because the one thing you don't want to do is tilt the balance of power. Now, we've seen it happen before, Joe. I don't know if you were still there. When Amari started on them, the guys were winning. I was going to talk about them. And Senator, you remember that? Yeah. And Robert Ory bumped him, and they came off, and they shoved him, and David Stern threw the ass out. He suspended him for the next game, and it really wasn't a series.
12:43Shannon Sharpe:It wasn't even close after that because you lose Robert Ory, but you lose two-star players from the San Antonio – from the Phoenix Sun. But I don't think that's going to be the case in this situation. And because the game was already over in that situation in the Phoenix-San Antonio game, it was only like a minute to go in the ballgame. So you had to have some sort of discipline because you don't want guys coming off the bench. That's why they say if you're on the bench, stay your ass there because normally if you come off the bench, it's going to be an automatic suspension. But in this situation, I do not see Wemby getting any further discipline.
13:18Shannon Sharpe:but I think in that situation, it's not a prank where he earned that. He didn't deserve it. He earned it. And he's like, well, bro, look how he threw that thing. Yeah, he threw that thing with some conviction now. And for him, it's kind of out of character too. We haven't seen him act like this, but it's also a good thing. I'm not going to let y 'all push and shove me around and think y 'all going to handle me any old kind of way.
13:42Chad Johnson:No, it ain't no damn good thing. Control your damn emotions out there. that's a special death situation. Hey, Joby, hold on. Joby, talk about basketball now. We see this happen all the time. Now, listen, listen. This is what the Timberwolves are designing. Hell, how you gonna stop Wimby? We gonna get his ass up out of here. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I just said that. You're right, you're right, you're right. Do whatever we can to frustrate him. Keep putting our hands on him. Yes, sir. Putting bodies on him. For a guy who's 7 '5", I ain't seen nobody on the floor as much as him. He hit the floor almost every other play, bro.
14:13Chad Johnson:Yes. You know what I mean? And I just think the T-Wolves are being physical with him. And he got a bit frustrated. You know what I mean? That's why when they told him on the bench, he was like, what that mean? And then he just started dapping everybody up. Because I felt like he kind of knew the intent that he brought with that. And he did. No drawback. He was like, okay, fine. You know, dapp my teammates up. Y 'all go out here. Y 'all try and win this game. I'm going to be in the back. He didn't give no disruption about that. Nope. I felt. So he knew he had done something that he probably should have.
14:43Chad Johnson:You know what I mean?
14:44Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Yes, and Joe, and I think come game six, I think you're going to – I think game five, you're going to see the best Wimby. He's going to come out winning 10. They're going to look to get him the ball early. They're going to look to establish him, and he wants to send a message. Okay, y 'all won game four. Y 'all got me up out of there. But this is why y 'all got me up out of there, because I'm going to get rude to this work. And don't y 'all bring – if y 'all bring that thing anywhere near, if it's in Hennepin County I'm throwing it up out of here you better be in Duluth you better be in St.
15:19Shannon Sharpe:Paul hey don't you bring that to Minneapolis because you bring it to Minneapolis I'm throwing it up out of here I would not be surprised if he had a triple double another triple double with blocks because he's going to be on a mission now the thing is that you got to control those emotions it's okay to play with control chaos because that's what you want You won't control chaos. But as I said, control. I think, you know, for him, that's going to be the biggest key is for them to get to him early and say, look here, we want you to be Wimby, but you got to control it. They're going to be watching you now.
15:56Shannon Sharpe:So, hey, you get the ball. If they tie you up, they're not winning a jump ball situation. But anything like this here, they're going to be looking for it. Yeah. Let's control it. We got the team that can beat these guys. but I think you're going to see I think Wimby's going to come out there and he's going to be on a mission. Hey, but hold up now.
16:15Chad Johnson:Hold up. I want y 'all to take heed to something now. It's a guy out there. He's steady getting healthy about a minute and that's Ant-Man. Ant-Man, yeah. He ain't got that full explosion yet but man, I'm talking about Uncle Ojo. When you're talking about get to your spots and understanding the moment you know him and Castle got a little Georgia boy. Oh, they're going back
16:36Shannon Sharpe:and forth. Yeah.
16:37Chad Johnson:Them boys going in. Hey, them boys locking up. Them boys making tough shots. But that man in another gear, fellas. Yes, sir. Me, Uncle Ocho, I feel like each and every game he's starting to get better. He's starting to gain a little bit of that strength back. But it's hard to stay in front of him. And boy, when he making that jump shot, it's a wrap.
16:54Shannon Sharpe:You had his mercy.
16:55Chad Johnson:Hey, listen. If he get one or two of them guys to come along with him, I don't care if it's Randall, McDaniel, Shannon. I don't care who it is. Me. Hey, man. They got a good chance to upset these boys. Yeah. They ain't gay.
17:12Shannon Sharpe:You know what I liked about Ant-Man today? Minimal three-point attempts. Sometimes, Joe, he fall in love with that. And he's 8, 10, 12, 14. That's too many. And I understand he can make that shot. He's added that to his bag. But it takes him out of a rhythm of being aggressive. And I used to remember Michael Jordan says, well, I don't want to shoot threes. He said because if it starts to fall, it takes me out of my aggressiveness. I want to be on attack mode. I want to attack your ass. If I'm sitting out there hitting threes, it's going to take me out of my game. And then when I really need it, I'm not there.
17:47Shannon Sharpe:I don't have that rhythm. And so I thought Ant-Man today only attempting five three-point attempts. How many? Yeah, five three-point attempts. I thought that was perfect because it kept him aggressive, guys. I think it kept him trying to get, like you said, Joe, getting to his spot, putting the ball like I said if you notice he ain't really doing a whole lot of dunking because like you said Joe it ain't all the way back but it's enough explosive there that he can rise up and shoot that shot yeah hey and then think about it
18:14Chad Johnson:hell when Wimby went out why the hell would I shoot a three boy I'm coming in here ole you hear me this boy can't drop me now because the second line of defense who you got coordinate yeah he decent back there but hell

18:25Shannon Sharpe:I thought he played well Joe yeah he did think about you ask him to play 26 minutes. He played well, especially on the offensive end. He's rolling. He's setting quality picks. You already know. The thing is with Wimby, Wimby can still pick and pop. You already know Cornetta ain't popping. He's rolling. He's picking and rolling, diving to the basket and he's going to get a lob and they're going to drop it off to him and he's going to flush it home. I give him a lot of credit for him having to play in a very chaotic situation.
18:54Chad Johnson:I agree. I'm just saying for Minnesota, I noticed how easy it is for those guys to get to the basket and get layers when Wimby one up under there. You know, so that may have too. That's probably why, hey, that's probably why Ant-Man didn't shoot so many damn threes is what I'm saying. I just feel like Ant-Man in another gear, man.
19:14Shannon Sharpe:I feel like - Hey, Ocho, it was like when Goose and Big Sam wasn't in there, T tried to run up the middle. But we had 700 pounds up there, ain't nobody tried to run up no middle, you better try to toss it. You run up the middle if you want to, and good luck trying to get outside because we had 5 '2", we had Sharper, and they're going to chase you down. So good luck with that. But you damn sure wasn't running when they had Sam. It's just like when Chicago – you remember when Chicago had Keith Traylor and Big Ted Washington in the middle? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They had damn near 800 pounds. Yeah. And you damn sure wasn't running the ball against them two.
19:49Shannon Sharpe:Absolutely not. But look, it's going to – we needed this, guys, because last day, look, we already got one – We already got a broom in one series. Probably going to get another broom in another series. The last thing we needed is just like brooms across the damn board. I'm glad Cleveland won. Because think about it, guys. If Cleveland didn't win and here come Detroit come in, guess what? Now we ain't got no series.
20:16Chad Johnson:Hey, hey. It made it an even game. I ain't mad that women got to talk about it. Hey, hey, hey. Game five is what? What day is game five? Tuesday. Tuzi? Mm-hmm. Hey Joe, who you like, Joe? In what series? I mean this series, game five, who you like? Damn, Ocho. I know it's hard. I know it's hard. I like both of them, man, because they got some dogs. Both of them got some dogs. I'm talking about some guys who really out there competing, man. Hey, they ain't outbating to nothing. It's bucket for bucket. I like Ant-Man and what he doing. I like Castle and the crew. Ooh, but they're wimbing. Damn. Yeah, he the difference, huh?
20:57Chad Johnson:The difference. You put him out there, it looked like San Antonio playing against a damn G League team. Straight up. I'm for real. That's how much of a difference he makes. And I've seen it when he went out. And you notice that the guys from the T-Wolves, bro, it's like they got ultra aggressive. Look at Nas Reed. He's sweating. He's a 16 Kyrie Irving. I'm talking about that boy. Hey, he got that little ha-ha. Yeah. Hey, them boys were getting two of the night, man. I ain't gonna lie to you.
21:29Shannon Sharpe:Hey, the thing is, when you rob a bank, what you do? You scope it out. You look at the pattern, get the security on, what time he get there, how long it take him to get, how long the police take there after a call. You see Wimby in the game, ain't nobody trying to steal no buckets. Man. Hey, I'm gonna shoot the shot out here. It's wide open. Bro, you 25 feet out, what you mean you wide open? You think I'm gonna go in there? because Wimby, even if he's on one side of the basket, with one step, you're not getting that shot off. If you do get it off, it's not an easy shot. So with that being said, I think it's going to be a great game.
22:12Shannon Sharpe:We need a great game. I think it'll be close. But if I had to bet some money that meant something to me, and if it's my money, it means something to me. I'll put my money on San Antonio. Yeah, Wimby is such a difference maker, man. He's such a difference maker in that series. And Rudy is going to have to have an out-of-body experience. Not offensively, but defensively. He's going to have to do everything he can.
22:36Chad Johnson:I don't think he can. Not on Wimby. No, that ain't him. The problem you have is Wimby got too much in his bag for anybody. You know what I mean? Once he goes off his shoot or go off his launcher pad, hell ain't nothing you can do, man. You just got to be missed. Now, you got to continue to be physical with him, knock his ass down every chance you get. Contest everything you can. But the thing is, Ocho, even if he don't block the shot, if I drive in there and I know he there, I ain't even looking at the damn basket. I'm trying to see my next pass coming in. Exactly. He creates that indecision. Yeah, he creates that indecision.
23:11Chad Johnson:And therefore, when he's not in there, as soon as you get by your man, you know you're going straight to the rack. Flow, gain, layup, whatever. but if he don't even block it, bro, his presence alone, it makes you alter your decision-making.
23:26Shannon Sharpe:He's going to get somewhere between three to five blocks, but he's going to make you, he's going to make you alter your shot another five to 10 times. Hello. Hello. So even if he doesn't block it, you're not shooting a normal shot. Even if it's a floater, because he's going to block something up to 12 foot high.
23:44Chad Johnson:Yes.
23:46Shannon Sharpe:So what are you going to do? So even if you like, oh, screen him off, you got him screened. No, it don't matter. See, Rudy can bother him down there because Rudy is 7 '1". But when Nas Reed, Nas Reed is 16. So now he has a seven-inch advantage. Yeah, that's crazy. It's hard. It's hard to challenge his shot because, like you said, if you go back and look at what was that game three when he had that monster game, he put the ball on the floor. They end up having to take Rudy out.
24:15Chad Johnson:Yeah.
24:15Shannon Sharpe:because he's not giving you anything offensively and he's not impeding on the defensive end. So I got to put somebody in there. Even if you can't impede him, you can give me something on the other end that make him have to exhaust some of that energy because on the other end, he's just chilling. He's just roaming. He's a 7 '4 1⁄2 Ed Reed. He'll throw it anywhere.
24:36Chad Johnson:I'm going to go get it. And the problem is, he's so damn tall that if you're not Rudy Gobert, then when he do catch and turn hell. He might hit you with an elbow every time. Straight up. You know, when you think about it, yeah, he caught Nas. He caught him good. But think about it. Nas is right there when he catched the ball. He's right there at the elbow range.
24:56Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
24:57Chad Johnson:He's right there. You know, that's a dangerous range. That's a dangerous range to be in. Because he could probably get caught a few times if he had to guard him as much as he did tonight. But I thought they'd done a great job of frustrating him. you know he went out he bowed out you know no gripe of grown I think he understood he was wrong but I thought it made it an even game fellas it's just like playing Sunday I'm talking about you get your five I got my five yeah we going at it yeah I got some guys who can get money you got some guys who can get money let's see who come up with it at the end and what the best man win hey that man just took it to a whole nother level yeah he did
25:38Shannon Sharpe:I got a question for you Joe do you believe those guys with the looks they got tonight from three and they didn't knock them down, do you still believe they'll have they'll be that unsuccessful shooting the three once they get back in their building? Because I thought they had some great look at threes and they just missed them.
25:54Chad Johnson:You're right. I think with them having home court advantage back now, let's say worst case hell, you're going to get two games in San Antonio and one game in Minnesota. Correct. No, I don't think they're going to be as off as they were tonight. Now, I do think without Wimby being out there, okay, Ocho, you know, them guys, you know, they got some guys who can go get money, but creating for other guys, getting wide open shots, it really was a whole lot of opportunities, man. Because, look, if we running pick and roll, and let's say we got a pick and roll coverage, and I got a real big, like Rudy out there, Deanna, he probably gonna head and let me get on the way.
26:31Chad Johnson:I ain't worried about Rudy popping. But, if we out there and we switching everything, that mean, look, all these schemes y 'all running, this shit ain't gonna work. You're gonna have to have somebody who can get in their bag and get by somebody and get a bucket. That's why you see Fox and Castle and Harper. And that's why you see these guys thrive in these moments, bro. It was just guard your man.
26:55Shannon Sharpe:Even if you get Wimby in a pick, if you get Wimby in a pick, if you beat him, have you really beat him? No, sir. No. Unless he at half court. No. The only way you beat him, he's gonna lay that ball up if he's at half court. because if he'll step behind you, you better go up on the other side of the basket. You better not lay it up on the side that you beat him to. Right, right. Because if you do, he going to pin it. It's funny that he might pin it if you go to the other side too, honestly. Well, I don't think he ain't going to be expecting that. But you better like, oh, my bad, I'm going up under here.
27:25Because if you pop, you're going to hear a double tap,
27:28Shannon Sharpe:just like in a block point, Ocho, you hear that double thud?
27:30Chad Johnson:Yeah. Hey, Ocho, I got to give him some credit too, though, Ocho. I'm with Ocho saying. And, you know, his impeccable timing that he has on blocking them shots. There's been a lot of guys 7 '2", 7 '3", if we just be for real, who can't block no damn shots like Wimby. You know, I just think he has impeccable timing, you know, when it comes to blocking shots. And that's a skill in itself, let alone his ass being 7 '5". Yeah, right. So he's just a huge disadvantage, bro. You put him up. Think about this. You put Wimby on Minnesota team. what the hell they gonna look like?
28:06Shannon Sharpe:They're unbeatable.
28:07Chad Johnson:With Ant-Man and Wimby?
28:09Shannon Sharpe:Hear me? So that'd be like having Shaq and Kobe because we had never seen a guy as skilled as Shaq at that size. Now imagine putting four inches on Shaq, a guy that'd be able to shoot the three. I think Shaq made one three, like end of the quarter, end of something like that. He made a three. But imagine if Shaq could shoot a three with his domination down on the block. Well, that's what Wimby. Wimby is not as dominant, but Wimby can shoot the mid-range. Wimby got three. Wimby can post you up. So just imagine if he's in year three. Can you imagine what Wimby's going to look like if he still stay on this trajectory, still progress?
28:47Shannon Sharpe:Can you imagine what he's going to look like at year six? At 25?
28:51Chad Johnson:That's crazy. But here's what I'm saying. I'm saying if you put him on Minnesota, they look unbeatable. Yeah. San Antonio and Minnesota got guard play that's elite in the NBA, meaning guys who can go get a basket and guys who can guard. Bro, you ain't just going at none of them dudes. All these dudes can play. So he ain't just got no any guards is what I'm saying. He got some elite guard play. Right. So I think that makes a huge difference, and it just, you know, it fits so well around him that he's able to playmaker times, and hell, that 7 '5", handling the ball like a PG, bro. That's just unguardable if you make it.
29:29But when you look at Wimby, Wimby in San Antonio,
29:33Shannon Sharpe:he got guards that can shoot, but he don't have guys that can score. Like Ant-Man. You see the difference? Like there are other guys, but Shaq had Kobe. Kobe could score. So now you got to – okay, you double Ant-Man. You really want to leave Wimby one-on-one with anybody? Mm-mm. Nah. See, they don't have guys on the perimeter. I got to double. Hey, look, as good as Castle and Vassell and Fox. Right, right. The only guy that I got to really double is Fox, but I got to worry about Fox getting to the rim. Those aren't shot-making. Ant-Man is a shot-maker. Kobe was a shot-maker. There's a difference between guys that can score and guys that can make shots.
30:15Shannon Sharpe:Absolutely. Kobe can score and make shots. I look at Castle. I look at Vassell. I look at those champions. I look at guys that can score. I don't look at shot-makers. You look at somebody's shots, to Ant, they saw the pick at 22 feet out. Ant-Man rolls up over the entire thing and nailed a three. There ain't a whole lot of guys in the NBA can do that. Now you pair that with seven, four and a half that can shoot the three, can pull up from mid-range, can put it on the floor at the top and get all the way down here and boom. No. You can't let that be.
30:48Chad Johnson:You can't. Hey, Ant-Man with a different type of confidence, Uncle Ocho. Yes. You know, he, if you know, quiet as Kev, not even quiet as Kev, here you can tell you. I know he feel like he the baddest mofo out there on the court. He is. You play like it, he walk like it. He don't play like it. Hey, you talking about, you know, he don't feel like nobody in front of him will stop him, bro. I love him. And he can't. His shot making abilities is so elite. And I'm just thinking like, damn, he ain't even a hundred percent. Imagine if this man was a hundred percent. but you know a lot of times when you injure bro it make you focus a little harder too you absolutely lock in you make you lock in a lot more versus you just being you know feeling pretty damn good
31:35Shannon Sharpe:so i think that man is locked in bro when we look at wimby in the history of the game we've never seen a guy this complete we've never seen a guy seven four and a half can shoot the three can get the mid-range, can get all the way to the basket and flush it, and he's the best defender in basketball. We've never seen a guy this complete. Yeah, we've seen maybe a more skilled offense. Maybe if you look at Jokic and what he's able to do as far as passing the ball, shooting the three, the mid-range, around the basket, okay, cool. But what is Jokic going to give you on the defensive end? Yes, Shaq was more dominant.
32:09Shannon Sharpe:Yes, we've seen Admiral. We've seen Akeem Olajuwon. But they were not there putting the ball. I could get a ball to win and say, you know what, Wimby, today we're going to run a large part of the game we're going to run it through you so we want you on the ball and i don't feel we'll have any problem i watch the way he handled the ball bro you ain't supposed to be able to do that that ain't right man that borderline cheating bro you're not supposed to be six four 240 pounds running four three with a 43 inch vertical that's not fair at the wide receiver damn it and Joe you know you think about it you don't play video game but I'm sure a lot of people in the chat I mean obviously we have a lot of basketball fans and I'm sure most of them played NBA 2K Wimby is nothing but a creative player Wimby is a creative player that you know you can dominate with on a video game it just so happened he's real in real life he's exactly what you create when you play goddamn 2K
33:08Chad Johnson:man you ain't lying it's crazy it's wild bro he is a unique talent and boy san antonio they good for the next 15 to 20 years bro yeah it's gonna be i can't wait for tuesday night this thing gonna
33:24Shannon Sharpe:be oh don't they play tuesday night yep tuesday night yeah oh yeah oh so they oh so they play tuesday they don't play again till friday oh okay okay i get three days off All right, all right, all right, all right. Hey!
33:43Chad Johnson:Let's go.
33:43Shannon Sharpe:Let's get to it. Let's get to it. Let's get to it. I want the apology to be just as loud as the disrespect. Damn! The Knicks made 18 three-pointers, which tied an NBA record for a regular season or a half, to lead by 24. They had to take the heart out of the corner. Oh, man. What they've done to – you look at the last three games against Atlanta, and you look at three of the last two games, That's as hot as anybody's ever been. There are 144 points today are the most in playoff franchise history. They opened the first quarter with 11 made three-pointers, which tied an NBA postseason record. They'll wait the winner of the Pistons Cavaliers.
34:23Shannon Sharpe:Detroit leads that series 2-1, and we'll have at least, at the bare minimum, a week off before the finals begin, which gives OG more and more time to recover. Yeah, you done? This your game right here. You done? You look at it. Miles McBride got him off to the great start. He made seven shots, all of them from the three. Jalen Brunson was six of 10 from the three. Josh Hart was four of six from the three. Cat, two of three from the three. The Diet was one of one. Landry Schammett, four of six. Jose Alvarado, one of two. When you add it up, they shot 25 of 44 from the three. That's 57%. They shot 49 of 91 from the overall from the field.
35:09Shannon Sharpe:That's 54%. If you let a team shoot 54 % from the floor, 57 % from the three, you're going to get beat by 30. I told you what was going to happen. The floor is yours. I told y 'all what was going to happen. Y 'all ain't believing me. Y 'all think y 'all got elite ball knowledge. Joe, I know you played the game, Joe. I respect what you had to say, but you told me. Goddamn, when they were playing the Hawks, you told me. the Hawks were probably going to beat the Knicks. That's what you told me. You told me Jalen Johnson, he was that boy. You told me Sidney McCollum, he was going to cook. What happened?
35:44Let me finish. Hey, Unk, now I'm on you. You told me Embiid. You told me Cat was too goddamn small. Cat couldn't do nothing with Embiid down there, whether it was down in the block or Cat was going to have to go down to the goddamn three. He was going to have to shoot three. He was going to have to shoot the middie. but he won't be able to do nothing with him down in the block. What did the Cats show y 'all all series long? Huh? I'm a three-level scorer. What we talking about? I could do it all. They heard y 'all two talking. They made 25 threes. 25 threes. That's a postseason record. We talking about the Knicks.
36:22Huh? What we talking about? And the words of my dude, one of my favorite battle rappers, DNA, get Philly up out of here. Huh? Get him Get Tyree, get Maxi up out of here. Tell Paul George, you get up out of here too. What you talking about? And that's no disrespect to the Philly fans because you know when the football season, I'm all for you and I love you. Come on now, what we talking about?
36:48Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, Gillie, you know Gillie's sick right now though. Man. Man, you know Gillie's sick. That's his team, Mocho.
36:55Chad Johnson:He ain't been happy with him. I told you, I seen him over the weekend. Gillie ain't been happy. He ain't been happy about that. I know he pissed off about this, yeah. Look, Joe, you make 11 threes in the first quarter.
37:07Shannon Sharpe:You make 18 and a half.
37:08Chad Johnson:You not losing. Bro, they were hitting on – I ain't going to lie, Ocho. I give the Knicks a credit, bro. I ain't going to hate them. You know, I get credit when credit is due. Them boys still hot from the damn series against the damn – Yes! Yeah. Yeah, you hear me? Listen, I done forgot OG got hurt. I ain't going to lie to y 'all. I was like, you want me a damn player. He been the hottest player on their damn team. Man, look, hey, riding his shoe like he Ray Allen. I'm like, hold on, bro. I'm talking about they wasn't missing, bro. I'm talking about all cylinders. It's like everything they threw up, bro, was going in.
37:45Chad Johnson:They winning the hustle last three games. I'm talking about, man, listen, they did a number on them boys. Ooh-wee. I told you what gonna happen, Joe. You only didn't want to listen to me. Ocho, Ocho, I was wrong, brother. All right, all right. Hey, you know what? You have many a word, Joe. You have many a word except paying me my money. But I'm gonna let that slap because you apologizing for being wrong. Talk about the 76ers was gonna beat. And you need to apologize too. Talk about Eskimo gonna stop Big Body Brunson. But you see, man, Brunson, man, sweet. I ain't even got no broom. I wish I had a broom.
38:19Chad Johnson:Hey, um, question is, the question is, where do Philly go from here, bro? like real talk I can tell you where they go Cancun I'm talking they got some decisions to make straight up
38:38Shannon Sharpe:I don't believe as currently constructed I don't see how they get out the second round because you know the likelihood 82 game season what is the likelihood Look, the man has played 68 games, at least 68 games once. Remember, Ocho, he missed his first two years, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, sir. So let that sink in. He's been in the league 10 years. He's played at least 68 games once in his entire NBA career. So he's going to put it, and it's hard, because I don't know when I can count on him, Joe. Man, that's tough. He might miss two weeks. Hey, Maxie, Paul George, Ed come down a great rhythm. Then he comes back.
39:25Shannon Sharpe:They can't play that same way when he's on the court. You just can't.
39:29Chad Johnson:Yeah. You can't, brother. You can't. Like, I'm looking at it. I ain't going to lie. I'm thinking, you know, I know he went eight for eight, you know, and they basically couldn't stop him. But the game is so much at a slower pace. Very slow. It's so still out there. It's so still out there, fella. You know what I mean? Like, you guys can't. You cannot. These rhythm guys, Edgeka Maxey, Paul George, Oubre, he can kind of, you know, dib and dab and do his thing. But for the most part, these rhythm guys, your scores, they just throwing it down there, cutting, playing off Embiid. It's like, damn, bro, we down 20 damn points.
40:05Chad Johnson:Why we still running this? Why we running the set? We need to get shots up. Yeah, we need to be big-dabs down here on the court. Yeah. But they had to walk the ball up so goddamn much. Okay, Ocho, you can't, I'm like, man. They got to figure it out, bro. They gotta make some changes, straight up. Hey, Uncle Joe,
40:29Embiid starts,
40:34his max contract, it starts next year. I think maybe it's starting at 57 million, I think, maybe something like that.
40:41Shannon Sharpe:What, four years? A three year. Three year, yeah. So I think it's 57, 67, and then I forgot what the third number is. It was three years, it was three years. So how would you get to three years, is 193, Joe? However you want to do it. Whatever number you want to use. You can start off at 50, but you know you're going to end up at 60 plus. Right. So what I was going to ask is when you talk about trusting the process, which I believe a lot of people don't trust anymore at this point, is Embiid still at 76 or going into next year? Hold on, Joe. Hold on. Wait a damn minute. We just had a discussion, Joe, three days ago.
41:23Shannon Sharpe:This man ripped my head off. You and Joe got on me. And now you talking about when we having a serious discussion about training? No, no, no, no, no, no. I'm just asking the question because, I mean, y 'all supposed to have better ball knowledge than I do, but obviously y 'all don't because y 'all been wrong the past two series. I just see what y 'all got to say. I already know the answer. I know the answer. I just want to see if y 'all do. Joel considered the 76th season a success after just getting swept by the Knicks. Embiid said, I know we lost, and I know that's not the right mentality to have, but for me, this was a success.
41:57Shannon Sharpe:I came into the year not knowing where I was going to be, how long I was going to play, if I was even going to play based on the knee of the last two years, and I came in hoping for the best. I feel like we're in position. We figured out the knee. It hasn't been an issue. Embiid appeared in 38 regular season games, missed the first three games of the Celtics series, and missed game two of the Knicks series. So Joel Embiid goes from 19 games to 38 games, gets swept in the second round, and somehow this is a success story. I think his success story is more about some of the things he's had to go through this year.
42:36Obviously, the appendectomy, the knee bothering him, not knowing when he would be able to play, when he'd be available, which is one of the things that we talked about. Hell, not just us. Countless networks have talked about the same things. I think that's the angle he meant when he said as far as having success because getting bounced out the second round ain't nothing about that successful. I think he's just speaking from a personal standpoint and not the game itself. Well, he need to play one-on-one basketball.
43:07Shannon Sharpe:Because all I know, you're talking about he had a success. Okay, you look at your success. Guys, he missed 44 regular season games. Yeah. How do I Joe and if I'm a general manager, how do I build a team around that when arguably you're one of your two best players is out half the time? How do I build a team? Because I basically I got to play one way when he's in when he's in the lineup. Yeah, and I've got to play a totally different way when he's out of it. If you look at if you look at the
43:44Chad Johnson:way uh uh okc play they play the same yeah no matter what yeah you look at you look at uh uh
43:51Shannon Sharpe:uh uh uh uh san antonio they getting up and down even when he's on the court even when he's off the court yeah ah different body style different plan style different when joel and bead is in the game and when you down by that many points why the hell are we running six we burn it we burn it 16 18 seconds off the damn clock. Y 'all do realize we're not up 30, we're down 30. And matter of fact, I got a question. When you down 32, Joe, why don't they just go small? Just go small. Because understanding that Embiid slows the game down, hell, put somebody else in there.
44:29Chad Johnson:Hold up, Ocho. How much money you make a year? Ah, see? Ah, okay. Okay. I mean, when you think about it, Okay, Ocho. Yeah, who gonna take on that contract? Shoot. Hey.
44:44Shannon Sharpe:Chad, hold on. I said, hold on, wait a minute. Hold on, hold on, hold on, Joe. Hold on, hold on before you go, huh? Hold on now.
44:51Chad Johnson:I didn't know he just signed that deal and they kicked in. I didn't know. I think it was, yeah, kick it next year, but I think he signed it two years ago.
44:59Shannon Sharpe:He kicked in this year.
45:00Chad Johnson:Yeah, so the next three years,
45:02Shannon Sharpe:they gotta pay him 192 to$193 million.
45:07Chad Johnson:I didn't know that. I swear I thought he was probably like on the last year his deal maybe no no no no no no hold on Joe did you say who gonna pay it yeah what I'm saying is Philly they got to figure it out big trouble hey hey hey you know I stood on that table 10 toes when we talked about him B right you talked about him not being available I talked about what he look like when he is available understanding I show flashes you know in this series even though they weren't able to get a win. Joe, when that boy hot and when he cooking, boy, he cooking. When he got that thing down on the block, huh?
45:48I'm just saying. I know they got whooped. I know he's hurt a lot. But, Joe, when he's healthy and he's on fire, boy, he's unstoppable, Joe.
45:57Chad Johnson:Oh, Joe, it ain't about the points that he gets. It's how he plays. He walks up and down the court all the damn time, man. You know what I mean? But Joe, they knew that before they signed him. He ain't never looked like we. He always been that way, Joe.
46:12Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. I'm missing something. I could have sworn we had this very conversation, and it was a two-on-one. They beat me up. Joe like, hey, Ocho, let's jump in. I could have sworn. Chad, hold on, Chad. I know they punking me. Hold on. What are you asking for the camera? Don't punking me. Chad, are they punking me? Chad, I know they not punking me, though.
46:33Chad Johnson:Hey, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Slow down, Turbo. Slow down, slow down. Listen, man, I swear I did not know that the contract kick in for 193. I didn't know that, I promise you. I thought the man was on about a year, he had about a year or two left. Hey, big fella gonna have to get some shape. They're gonna have to figure that one out. What's there to figure out? It's guaranteed. Ain't nothing to figure out.
47:01Shannon Sharpe:It ain't.
47:01Chad Johnson:What I'm saying is he's stuck in Philly. Hell, what do you mean?
47:04Shannon Sharpe:Let me ask you a question. Talk to me. Take your time when you ask me now. Okay. That's 365 days in a year. Yes, sir. So just imagine you only going to eat about 250 of those days. Okay. Okay. How you feeling? How you looking?
47:26Damn. I'd probably be looking.
47:28Shannon Sharpe:And you've been doing this. And you've been doing this. probably saved for like 10 years. So 365, you're only eating like 115 days of the year. Hey, honestly, I ain't looking too good. Probably a little on the small side. Yeah. And that's the thing, Ocho. It is so hard to build continuity. Ocho, you play the game. What did they say? You can't make the club in the tub. How do I build an offense? How do I build a defense? How do I build a team around arguably one of my two best players when I don't know if and when he's going to play? Yeah. That's it. I've never said Joe LNB couldn't play. I see what he is.
48:13Shannon Sharpe:He's an all-NBA player. He's an all-star. And before the injury started amounting, he was an unbelievable defensive player. Given all that, he's missed 480, almost 500 games. in his career. He missed the entire first two years of a career. I just don't know. And that was my only argument, is that you're going to get somebody else to hopefully try to take on this contract. Three years,$192 million. And what? You know, based on history, is that what I do is that I look at history, just S &P, if you measure the market, Okay, we know the market goes up. Sometimes it goes up 8-10. Sometimes it drops 3-4.
49:03Shannon Sharpe:But it's like this here. But it's consistent. Mm-hmm. What is Joel consistently being? Her injured and out.
49:14Can I tell you something?
49:16Shannon Sharpe:Yes, you can. When it comes to this business, I don't know basketball like y 'all do. Somebody in the chat just said, why is Ojo talking basketball? Because I got better ball knowledge than you. because you got a camera and a microphone and he don't hey that that's why and i know what i'm talking about that's why i've been right all series long but even though mb has three three year 193 million um it just take one team yeah one team that that that feel that a change of scenery might do him justice going somewhere else might do him justice yes he's been hurt all this time he's been in philly but long behold sometime when you change scenery all of a sudden boom you're healthy you get around different doctors you get around different nutritionists you get around different people that have a set a set plan for you and all of a sudden voila you're healthy it happens i've seen it happen in in all sports whether it's basketball whether it's football here with this track you you change coaches all of a sudden now you're running faster So, hey, look, when I'm watching the game,
50:23Chad Johnson:I'm here, Ocho, Maxie is coming. If I'm being 100, they don't even really look like they enjoy playing with MV, bro. You know, it's like, you know, man, we downhill bandits. You know what I'm saying? We try to get money. Yeah, we can't even attack because you down here posting up every trip down court. That's kind of, that's just kind of what I see. That's how I feel when I'm watching it. I'm looking at facial expressions. I'm looking at demeanor. I'm looking at gestures. I'm looking at all that, bro. Like, it don't, bro. It don't look like they really enjoy playing with big fella. If I'm just keeping it real, bro.
50:58Chad Johnson:Damn, Joe. That's not nice, Joe. I'm just keeping it 100, bro. I feel you. I feel you. I feel you. Oh, Joe, you said something interesting.
51:06Shannon Sharpe:You said you've seen it before. You've seen guys, you know, leave teams and go to another team. You go to another coach. I take Sidney McLaughlin as an example. I can put her with Joanna Hayes. I can put her with John Smith. I can put her with Dennis Mitchell. She'll still be great because her desire to be great and her work ethic. Yes. It doesn't matter who you put somebody with and where you send them to. What is your mindset? Will you be disciplined? Will you be committed? Because if you're not, all you did was change locations. Yes, sir. a polar bear is still the same, whether he's in captivity or he's out.
51:51Shannon Sharpe:So if Joel Embiid still trades the same way, does the same thing, and maybe his body is too broken down, it's just hard to see a scenario where a man gets healthier as he gets older. It's just hard. I don't see it. I don't. And Ocho, you asking a man 300 plus pounds. Body, he's had back surgery. He had knee issues. He had ankle issues. To run up and down the court 70 times a year, 35 to 40 minutes a night.
52:27Chad Johnson:Yes, sir. Hey, that's another thing. You watch him gallop up and down the court, Uncle Ocho. Hey, look, it look like it's hard on him, bro.
52:37Shannon Sharpe:It look like it hurt me. My knees start hurting watching him. My back start hurting. I'm like, well, damn. The difference is I'm 58. All my kids older than Joel Embiid. So I got a right. I got artificial hips. Got bone on bone in my right knee. I need a knee replacement. I'm trying to postpone it. I look at Joel Embiid and I said, well, damn. Is that what I look like when I walk? God, done. So, Chad, I apologize. if I look like Joel Embiid when y 'all see me in the airport or y 'all see me walking to Target or something I sincerely apologize cause it look like it hurt
53:18Chad Johnson:it do I'm talking about just to sprint up and down the court a couple trips and don't let it be consecutive oh he gonna pull out that walk on you yeah hey look I think you're a hell of a talent too I just don't know man when I'm looking at you know I think Philly got elite guard play and the gestures throughout the game. The bottom line. I'm looking at all of them, bro, they playing there. And it's like, damn, alright, let me throw it down here and go set this little weak-ass screen like I'm doing something. So he... That's what it's saying to me, bro. I'm just keeping... Because look, you know once it go in, once you throw it...
53:57Chad Johnson:I ain't getting it back. It ain't really coming out. He pretty much going at his man. You know, him and Cat got the little back and forth. You know, I... I don't know, man. I just, I don't know from my eye. From my eye. Yeah, it just seemed like that those guys were really, they weren't flying around like they was in the first couple of games. Just keep it real.
54:19Shannon Sharpe:It's hard to play with a guy like that. And then Max is like, man, I'm an all-star. I'm just coming into my own. I'm giving you 28. He ain't, I mean.
54:29Chad Johnson:See, I just came out with my new shoe. Hey man, look, I'm next up. I'm up, matter of fact, I'm up. Yeah, it's my turn.
54:38Shannon Sharpe:Joe, check this out. In their last three games against Atlanta, the Knicks beat the Hawks by a combined 96 points. 96, that's what the combined beat them by. Now, hold on. Okay, they beat the 76ers 144 to 114. What was game three? How bad they beat them in game three? How bad they beat the Knicks when you combined all the scores? what was the tally? Bear with us, Chad. You saying a total... They beat Atlanta the last six games by a combined plus 96. So they averaged beating them by 32 points a game. Atlanta, their last three games that they won.
55:23Chad Johnson:I get it.
55:26Shannon Sharpe:Now, if we go back and look at what... Now, today was a 30-point victory. Hell, they beat them... If I'm not mistaken, they might have beat them worse than that in game three. or was it game two where they beat them like 120, 130 game one, 130 okay, hold up okay they beat the 76ers, okay they beat them 144 to 114 today they beat them by 14 in game two they beat them by by six in game two, excuse me, they beat them 144 to 114 in game four, they beat them by 14 in game 2. They beat game 3. They beat them by 6 in game 2. They beat them 137 to 98 in game 1. So 89 total points. So they won their last 7 games so you say 96 and 89 that's 185.
56:26Shannon Sharpe:You know I'm good with that. Like I said when you ain't got to carry and pie and all that stuff if you just give me some round numbers I can spit that. I'm like Big Blue. I just spit the numbers. Let that sink in, man. They beat in seven games. 185 total points. That is crazy. It ain't crazy because I told you what was going to happen. Y 'all ain't listen to me.
56:52Chad Johnson:Look, at least the Hawks got two games. Damn. You mean we really couldn't get a game? Hey, Joe. the Hulk got two games because the NBA had bills to pay. The NBA had bills to pay. Don't do that. Don't do that. I'm just being honest with you. Because you and Hulk steady are yelling out our failures and whispering our successes. We won two games against these dudes, bro. Yo, y 'all at home, Joe. You happy about winning two games? Yeah, yeah. At home. Bro, Philly got swept, Ojo. No. Uh-uh, uh-uh. You home. You know what I'm talking about? No disrespect. I got love for you, but I'm just saying, the way you hyped the Hawks up, and they at home.
57:39Not Philly at home.
57:40Chad Johnson:All I'm saying is, the Hawks won two games. What's this? Unk. Five-five, bro. I'm trying to explain to you. I'm trying to explain to you. Hey, Joe, you played in the NBA, Joe. You supposed to know how the business works, all right? We got sponsors, right? The sponsors. In order to make money, you got to extend the series a little bit. They let the all get two games to pay the bills. That's what I'm saying.
58:05Shannon Sharpe:Hey, we got bills to pay too, damn it. Yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Hey, all right, let's talk about the Knicks. Because their first two series, they put on, they put on, this series, they really put on a shooting clinic. Yes, they did. two games I mean I mean this is this is crazy this is I mean you look at what they did against the Hawks um the last two games they won by 29 no they won by hold on no hell no they won by what 90 126 so 320 they won by 29 they won by 50 30 what no for 50 51 damn Joe beat by 51 and then you got beat 39. Come on bro. They put on some, when they got, when the Knicks get hot,
58:59boy, listen, they ghost pepper hot.
59:02Chad Johnson:Told you. Give them, give them a credit. Hey, you think Bridges look great in this series. He ain't even score in a game against the Hawks. Absolutely, you're right. You know what I mean? Like I'm talking about OG went out. Josh Hart has been playing amazing yes not only has he been scoring which is always a plus but his energy and effort he's always going to be around 8 to 12 rebounds a game
59:29Shannon Sharpe:from this position
59:30Chad Johnson:just because of effort and he making shots
59:35Shannon Sharpe:oh yeah if he making shots it's over for you because like you said Joe Aldo hustle plays he's going to make them and he and Brunson they played together in college with McHale Bridges. They played together. They know each other. They were roommates. They got a podcast together. They cool. And that's why I say closeness matters. Yeah. You look at OKC. It matters. I think San Antonio is going to have the same type of relationship. You know why? Because they came up together. They getting drafted a year apart. And guess what? They going to build this thing together. The same thing. Shea was there.
1:00:12Shannon Sharpe:And here come J-Dub. And here come Chet. and here come Mitchell and they get Lou Dork and they get Wallace and they get Isaiah Joe and they train for Caruso. Hell, Caruso the elder statesman.
1:00:24Chad Johnson:Hey, and when you look at it, hey, sometimes, man, you can have a little bit too damn much. You know, without OG, I think everything is kind of crystal clear, meaning, you know, you get Bridges and Hart, they able to maintain a rhythm because they ain't looking over their back. Damn, I messed up OG from the company. You know what I mean? And I think – I'm not saying that they're better without him. Don't get me wrong. I just think these guys are in such a great rhythm, bro, that I'm telling you, I didn't even notice OG wasn't on the court. I'm like, damn. And look at Cat.
1:00:58Shannon Sharpe:What about Cat? Ocho, three threes.
1:01:01Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:01:02Shannon Sharpe:That's it. He didn't fall in love with the three. He's like, hey, hold on. Hey, who this got – they got Paul George. Is this PG on me? man give me that damn ball
1:01:16Chad Johnson:get back get back hey he look like he was playing with a little more of a little purpose this series yes I think the little back and forth between him and Embiid which they didn't really entertain a lot now it was a lot of hustling and wrestling out there if you ask me but I'm here for it you know the competition level was at an all time high I think both guys competed but I think it hurt it. It hurt it Philly way more than it hurt the Knicks. You know what I think?
1:01:50Shannon Sharpe:You're thinking for me, look, I sat down with Kat and spending two hours with him and talking with him before the pod and talking with, how you not like Kat? Yeah, I get it. Oh my God. I get all that. But man, he is, hey man, look here. He really, really a good dude. And having a conversation with him and what he's had to deal with, with his mom, his mom was his best friend. I'm talking about his absolute best friend. And to watch her leave this earth, watch her take her last breath. It did a number on him. It did. But I can't, hey, I get frustrated with him because I say, Kat, you too damn good to be taking on him damn three.
1:02:35Shannon Sharpe:Get your big old butt. But I can't, and you can't dislike him. You can't. I need Detroit to get out this series.
1:02:46Chad Johnson:I ain't gonna lie to you. What'd you say Joe? I need Detroit to get out this series. A shout out to my boy Johnny Bryan over there in Cleveland. He only coached out Johnny outside, bro. I need Detroit to win this series.
1:03:01Shannon Sharpe:Oh, so you going all in.
1:03:02Chad Johnson:You got Detroit over the Knicks. You going all in, huh Joe? I told you I got Detroit going to the finals. Hold on Joe. Here we go again. Man, here we go again, man. Where? Joe, what you doing? What you mean? Joe, since we've been on here, right? Yeah. Since the playoffs started. Yeah. First, I told you how it was going to play out. Joe, the Hawks playing the Knicks. I explained to you. Now, I could break it down for you in PowerPoint presentations if I need to. if the goddamn Pistons get out that series and show you why the Knicks are going to beat them. I can do that. But again, I know you play the game.
1:03:45I respect your ball knowledge. But see, you thinking with your heart. I'm thinking with my mind.
1:03:53Chad Johnson:With my Hawks, I was thinking with my heart. I ain't going to lie. I had my heart in it. Joe.
1:03:58Shannon Sharpe:You supposed to, Joe. That's your squad. Joe, I know he ain't talking about no heart in it. The way he be root for the Bengals. and he know damn well his Bengals ain't got no chance.
1:04:07Chad Johnson:Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. He ain't been out here crying and everything. Do me a favor, sit me down. It's not football season. All right, go ahead. It's football season year round. I'm a basketball savant right now. I don't care nothing about football. My bad.
1:04:20Shannon Sharpe:Now you don't care nothing about football. OK. Yeah, I'm a basketball head. Remember that with his team. Because he going to come back. Hey, Joe, what about your Falcons? My team, just like your Falcons, they didn't win. Hey, and just remember, like, I'm not jumping on no bandwagons. I don't want people to confuse the fact that I'm, you know, I'm going for the Knicks. I'm a Heat fan. I'm a Miami Heat fan. It just, you know, going back and forth based on the series, we all had teams to pick. And the team that I continuously picked to go further just happened to be the Knicks. That's it. So I'm cheering for the Knicks, but I'm a Miami Heat fan.
1:04:57Always will be. Win or lose. But, Joe, if, even if the Cavs come out the series, or the Pistons. The Knicks are still going to win.
1:05:09Shannon Sharpe:I'm just telling you. I definitely don't believe the Cavs can beat the – not with those defenders that they got. Yeah. Because they catching hell. They catching hell getting away. And they got way – I think New York got more defenders. When you got Josh Hart, McHale Bridges, you got OG. I think they got more defenders. Hell, Alvarado, that little piss.
1:05:37Chad Johnson:But guess what? They ain't going to be able to do nothing with K, though. K showed last year, hell, they couldn't do nothing with him. And he's a little experienced under the top. But here's the problem you run into, Joe. Your boy Duren ain't getting you nothing. But he going to be a dog. He going to be a – hey, look. That little 8.12 rebounds, we going to need that. We going to need 18 and 12. See? See? See? See? Here y 'all go again. Here y 'all go again. You see, this is the same thing you did last series with goddamn Jalen Johnson. Now you talk about what during – man, we don't care nothing about that.
1:06:11You hear me? We don't care nothing about that. OG going to be back. Hey, big body Brunson going to do what he do. Josh Hart locking shit up on the defense end, and he going to give you something down on the offense end. What are we talking about? Cat going – oh, my God. He going to do what he got to do. From the three, from the mid-level, down in the block, whatever he want to do. When the Knicks go to the finals, right? Yes. I just want y 'all, I want the apologies to be just as loud as the disrespect. Huh? Matter of fact, I don't want nobody to question my ball knowledge when it comes to basketball after this.
1:06:47Chad Johnson:We done gave them they promised, bro. What else you want? Because you still doubting them. Talk about you want Detroit to get out the series so they can beat the Knicks. I got one more chance. So you don't know ball like I do.
1:07:05Shannon Sharpe:all right all right so hey so you're gonna take if the thunder get that you taking the knicks over the thunder who oh cho oh yeah oh my ass you heard what joe you're into my huh you heard what i said hold on hold on i think i think my thing muted yeah yeah all right y 'all can hear me come on we hear you just fine okay we said if the knicks and the thunder meet in the nba finals are you taking the knicks god damn is my speaker working Oh, me, me, me.
