In short

Late-night NFL talk covering multiple games and storylines: Rams vs Colts (Stafford comeback; Colts’ errors), Eagles/Philly receiver frustration (A.J. Brown), Steelers vs Vikings in Ireland (Rodgers clean game; TJ Watt elite milestone), Texans vs Titans shutout (Cam Ward’s postgame honesty and leadership debate), plus Jaguars vs 49ers (sign-stealing accusation; turnovers; Travis Hunter usage criticism).

Guests

Ocho (co-host) and Tab Ramos (Inside American Soccer host).

Key claims

Colts lost despite being “better than we think,” citing 10 men on field, holding on Jonathan Taylor’s TD run, and a fumble/touchback sequence. Puka Nakua is framed as a physical, all-purpose receiver and a major reason the Rams won. Steelers’ defense dominated with six sacks and TJ Watt joining elite company (100 sacks + 8 career interceptions). Cam Ward’s “we ass” honesty is debated as authentic leadership that can’t be said publicly by others.

Notable examples

Stafford 29/41, 375 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT; Puka 13-170-1; Rams’ 80-yard go-ahead TD to Tutu Atwell. Steelers beat Vikings 24-21 in Ireland; Rodgers 18/22 for 200 and a TD; DK Metcalf 80-yard TD. Texans shut out Titans 26-0; Ward’s rocky start (0-4 team context). Jaguars beat 49ers 26-20; Armstead sack with under 3 minutes; heated postgame between Liam Cohen and Robert Saleh.

4:15Shannon Sharpe:So, Matthew Stafford found Tutu Atwell wide open for an 80-yard go-ahead touchdown pass with less than two minutes remaining to send the Rams to a 20-27-20 win over the Colts at SoFi. The Colts made so many mistakes. Ocho, one play before the go-ahead touchdown. The Colts only had 10 men on the field. Then they had a holding penalty in the gate of the 53-yard touchdown run by Jonathan Taylor. And also they had a 76-yard touchdown reception that turned into a touchback. And Aidy Mitchell fumbled the ball as he crossed the goal line. So, look, it's no consolation. But, you know, if I'm in, I'm looking at a game like, bro, we gave up a touchdown with 10 players on the field.

4:58Shannon Sharpe:We had a holding penalty and they get a touchdown. We had another touchdown, bro. The Colts are better than we think. Yeah. I mean, that's the only way I look at it, Ocho. The Colts are better than we thought. Wait, did you see that? That 53-yard run by Jonathan Taylor that got called back? Mm-hmm. Man, boy, Buddy is nice, boy. Yeah. He is the real deal. We didn't talk about him last year, Ocho, because Saquon and Derrick Henry. Yeah, they was out of this world. But if you go back and look at his numbers, he's a pro bowler he's been an all pro there's a reason why

5:42Shannon Sharpe:Matthew Stafford was 29 of 41 375 three touchdowns zero picks roll off them Puka Nakua numbers real quick Puka had 13 catches for a buck 70 a touchdown on 15 targets. Tutu had one for 88 on two targets. Devontae Adams, four for 56, a touchdown on six targets. I mean... 13 for 170. They won the game. A.J. Brown, one for seven yards. They said, look, we won the game. Puka had 13 for 170. it. Now, at the end of the day, what did Philly and the Rams both do? Win?

6:38Shannon Sharpe:I get it. You preach it to the choir. I absolutely 1 ,000 % understand A.J.'s frustration, but I'm just telling you, you're not going to convince the fans because the fans want to win. They're not concerned about A.J. Brown's stats. You know that. I know that. And the team's not concerned. yeah shit all right they're not yeah you're right hey hey hey gillay get out of there man uh the colts puka had 13 for a buck 70 further leading his league nfl league in both categories hey he gonna mess right hey how many catches he got now 40 42 I think that's right He must write and go get 150 160 Yeah, how many is it?

7:27How many he got? 42, right?

7:28Shannon Sharpe:Yeah Something like that Uh, I'm going to touch down the title score Today he became the second player in NFL history To have 40 receptions For 500 yards In his team's first four games Dog, dog, that's crazy Do you hear what you just said? Hmm 40 reception in four games. Mm-hmm. My God.

7:57Shannon Sharpe:Bro, all they did is do what they did. You remember when Cooper Cup had that historic season? Yeah. Insert Puka Nakua. Nakua, exactly. Yeah, same place, same everything. Oh, that's crazy. And he has somebody on the other side that can open it up because remember when they brought Odell in there? Yeah. Odell would still make you pay if you're singing him. Devontae can make you pay. He made him pay last week. He made him pay the week before that. And they made sure this game, okay, Devontae going crazy right now. Let's get our young bull back where he's supposed to be. It's funny how that works.

8:39You see how they can make a constant effort to get who they want the ball?

8:45Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. And I think the thing is, Ocho, is that when we start talking about all the receivers, we leave Puka out of the equation. Puka McDukua is in the mix. Oh, yeah, he is. Now, I'm not saying I'm taking him over Jetta or Chase, but there ain't a whole lot of other receivers I'm taking in front of him because he's physical. Yeah. He does it. See, I like guys to do nasty work, Ocho. Everybody want to catch the goal ball, Ocho. Everybody want to catch the post and catch the nine route. But what about the guy that's going to catch the under? What about the guy that's going to catch that three steps slant?

9:18Shannon Sharpe:What about the guy that's going to catch that bubble screen or that jailbreak? That's going to get tattooed. Yeah, he do it all, man. Hey, that we can run the jet suite with.

9:33Shannon Sharpe:Hey, y 'all better start giving Puka his credit. Hey, I know he's not conventional. He don't look like the guys that we think are the best. Right. He in the comments. But, hey, he done earned the stripes now. He came in as a rookie and did what he did, and he backed it up. And he's backing it up again. Yeah. And they're going to have to back the truck up.

9:57Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yes. Ocho, the first game of the day, the Steelers beat the Minnesota Vikings over in Ireland by the score of 24-21. The Steelers' defense put together its best showing of the season, collected six sacks, ten tackles for loss against Carson Wentz With the third interception, TJ Watt became one of seven players with at least 100 sacks and eight career interceptions. The other six are in the Hall of Fame. LT, Richard Dent, Chris Dolman, rest his soul, Jason Taylors, Pep, Julius Peppers, and Ricky Jack. That's some very, very elite company that Mr. Watt finds himself in. Absolutely. Boy, you see Aaron Rodgers and goddamn DK today?

10:48I did. Oh. It's funny. I got, hey, boy, DK, hey, that goddamn skinny pose, and he threw that thing right off the ear of the back of it.

11:01Shannon Sharpe:Yep. And that safety took a bad angle. Man, DK said, man, stop playing with me, man. I'm going to catch you in the end zone, homie. I'm going to catch. Listen, they look really good today. It was a good game. But the Steelers looked very good today. And I think there's only one quarterback that could have made the Steelers look the way they looked today based on the throws that he threw today. And that was Aaron Rodgers. Boy, Aaron Rodgers was out there scrambling, huh? He took off. 18 or 22 for 200 yards and a touchdown and no interceptions. He played a clean game. He did. They ran the ball 29 times.

11:35Shannon Sharpe:I do question, why would you go for it on fourth down instead of kicking a field goal? But other than that, I thought they played really well. Justin Jetta 10 catches for a buck 26 on 11 targets Addison for 114 on 8 targets Bro, Addison need his butt kicked Did you see that linebacker went and got him? Oh yeah, he was tired That's a linebacker Ocho He just got back I don't give a He just got back Unless he was tied up had his legs tied in the basement Ain't no linebacker supposed to want a wide receiver down You do understand. Listen, boy, Addison ain't nothing but 4-4. These linebackers, they run 4-4-4-5, so they run about the same.

12:174-4 ain't catching 4-4. Hey, when that monkey jump on your back in the middle of the game, where you're not as fresh as you are when it starts, that monkey heavy. Ocho, that man, it wasn't no angle. He went and got it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, that lactic acid bill up now.

12:36Shannon Sharpe:Ain't nothing going to bill up. Hey, you got to be Usain Bolt to come get me with a lead like that. You ain't come to get me. As a wide receiver and that's a linebacker? Ocho, DK, the Steelers ended Sunday, averaging the fewest air yards per attempt, but they lead the league in yards after the catch. In the early second quarter, Rodgers hit DK on a slant. DK took a truck, one final defender getting into the end zone, an 80-yard touchdown. What did DK have? DK had five for Buck 26, one touchdown on five targets, 80 yards. Gainwell, six for 35, but Gainwell had 19 carries, 99 yards, and two touchdowns.

13:18Shannon Sharpe:So they had 29 rush attempts, 131 yards, and two touchdowns. Yeah, Wentz, 30 for 46, 352 touchdowns, two interceptions, six sacks. They pressured him. They hounded him all day. They was owning that. Redmond had two sacks. I mean, considering they had all those sacks. No, I'm looking at the wrong thing. Look at the wrong thing. Hebrick had one and a half. Benton had one and a half. Elliott had one. Queen had one. TJ Watt had one. Queen had three tackles for losses. Wilson had two tackles for losses. TJ Hebring had a tackle for loss. I think Ramsey left this game with an injury, didn't he? Hamstring.

14:14He pretended like he had one and got one for real. And then really got one for real.

14:22Shannon Sharpe:Steelers look good. Steelers look good. Minnesota got 15 in the – maybe could have done something if that's magnificent science. They get that ball in, maybe they have an extra 30, 40 seconds to play with and they don't have to rush. But we'll never know. But give the Steelers credit. They bowed their back. They did what they needed to do. They found a way to win this ball game. And they did by the score of 24-21 to win the first game played in Ireland. The Texans role-placed the Titans. 26-0 earned their first win of the season. It's the first shutout the Texans had since 2010. They needed that.

15:06Shannon Sharpe:And their third ever. Stroud, 20-28, 2-33, two touchdowns. The Texans improved to 1-3. Meanwhile, the Titans remain winless. Cam Ward had a hell of a postgame presser. Ocho, take a listen to what Cam had to say. I mean, if we keeping a buck right now, we ass. So we owing for it. At this point, we got nothing to lose. We dropped a quarter of our games, and we've yet to do anything. So we have to lock in, especially myself on the offensive line, from the defensive line, from the special teams, to all three faces we have to play together. We have not played together this year yet. And that's just something that, you know, we want to preach about it every day.

15:48Shannon Sharpe:Every day we got to do better, and we're doing that, but it has to show up on Sundays. It hasn't showed up yet, but it got to show up next week. I like my quarterback like that. nah Ocho that's the conversation you have when we played and you and I we're around somebody with our friends that's what we say you can't say that publicly no

16:08uh

16:12Shannon Sharpe:Ocho he's your quarterback he has a C on his chair you know he can't say that you're right okay he can't say it that's what you say when you're around your boys and y 'all man we we some slaw we some slaw we stir free oh you don't you don't hey can i ask you a question yes i know the program i understand the the power structure when you're the face of a franchise but you don't like the authenticity no you don't like the the no rawness not from him not from here ocho everybody can't say everything he is the quarterback he has a captain he has the c on his chest no he can't say that no he never could everything just because look i get it where he from he from miami wherever he's from and that's the way we talk we keep it a stack and we keep it a book no no no hey chat what y 'all think y 'all have anything anything how y 'all feel about cam being brutally honest about their performance the past four weeks i i'm curious what they'll say okay i don't i know exactly where you coming from yeah i tell you what go on your job and say we terrible and see if you still have a job that's all you gotta do

17:39Shannon Sharpe:in that situation you can't do it you can't I know I know it's great and it's going to be a great meme it's going to be a meme now and everybody's going to be there putting that up there whatever he said at the end but everybody if you play like people at home they don't get the dynamic of it I get it y 'all say whatever y 'all do whatever I would say no in that structure you can't do it right I got you I got you i love but i love people he's not lying though he don't own your job and say the exact same thing and see if you still have a job y 'all like when somebody else said it because you know it's something you would never do yeah well oh you know the funny thing is he's in the position where he can say it yeah but see just because you can do something that doesn't make that you should do it yeah it's even more that he's in the position that's when you have to be even more conscious of it because you're in the position to whom much is given much much responsibility comes along with that yes sir am i kind of listen to be a leader right it's just not being about the best is knowing what to say, when to say, how to say it.

19:07Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I hate that you have to be like that as a quarterback. I hate that. I like that rawness and that authenticity. And I think, to me, the message in saying it like that, the players in that locker room, they love that. Name a great quarterback that's never said that. That's the whole point. I hate that quarterbacks are robotic and say everything. Okay, name a great player that's never said that. Said what? forget forget football basketball baseball name a player a great one that said that

19:42when jordan cussed everybody out

19:47Shannon Sharpe:when you like when kobe what we say behind closed doors right that's that can never get out okay okay okay okay the way we talk in a meeting oh yeah the way we say yeah yeah but we might say you suck and you suck well you was straight up but you know what today but as but as a as a leader and look i don't expect like i said if you've never been in the position to lead you could never possibly understand exactly exactly and i can tell like when i go on you when i go on people's timeline and and i see them i can tell who's been in leadership position and who hasn't yeah who's had great responsibility and who hasn't yes sir that's all it is you don't yes but to say whatever Whatever comes up, comes out.

20:48Shannon Sharpe:Doesn't work like that. It really doesn't. It really doesn't. Yeah. Remember we had that conversation not too long ago about I wish and want more players to do what? Tell the what? Truth. And that's exactly what he gave us today. Something different besides the same. Hey, all I know, guess what? Angel Reese did that. What did you get her? Remember Angel Reese said the same thing about her teammates. What did he get, Ocho? Oh, got suspended. You got suspended. Exactly. Yeah. She probably won't be with the sky this year, next year. Can't do that. Yeah. Like I said, if you've never had, if you've never been in a responsibility, if you've never been in a leadership position, or if you've never been a part of a team, all I say, this is what I would say.

21:40Shannon Sharpe:Everybody always says what they would do when never being in a position to have that choice or have that chance. A lot of things that I say, I've been in positions. So I'm telling you what I would and wouldn't do because I've been there. If you play a sport long enough, Ocho, you're not finna win all the time. You're not going to have no hundred yards. When you're moving like I do, trips don't always come together weeks in advance. Sometimes production shoots, interviews, or something I've got to travel for on a short notice. Like the time when I had the last minute trip to Denver and everything came together fast.

22:20Shannon Sharpe:Once it was locked in, I had to be ready to go. That's where Amazon Prime can make a difference. 26:07Shannon Sharpe:Every game, you're not going to have 10 catches and things are not going to go your way. and there have been some time I wanted to blast a lot of people but you know what you just bite your lip because you know what ain't nothing good gonna come of it right now

26:28Shannon Sharpe:damn what happened he was 10 of 26 for 108 yards he got sacked twice so basically he had less than 100 yards and then rushing they had 18 carries for 82 yards man how long did they actually have the ball you only got 43 plates less than 22 minutes there you go one team possessed the ball 38 minutes in 29 21 seconds the other team had it less than 21 i mean less than 22 third down efficiency one team was two of 11 one team was six of 15 but was 3-3 on fourth down. Oh, man. Ta-da. Yeah, that was funny. Look, Cam, I don't know what you thought. So let me ask you a question. You thought you was going to be the number one pick in the draft and go to the Eagles?

27:27Shannon Sharpe:Or go to Kansas City? I mean, do they understand how this works, Ocho? The best player in football goes to the worst team. Mm-hmm. They're going to be all right. I'm confused. Sometimes I think they think like, oh, we're going to, no. Yeah. You don't turn it around in one year. There's struggle. Yeah. Well, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I think also when you look at what a Jaden Daniels was able to do, you look at what a CJ Stroud was able to do, you might want to come in, okay, I'm the number one pick. I'm going to try to emulate and do the same thing that those dudes did for their franchise and turn around like that But look at the personnel.

28:18Yeah, that too

28:20Shannon Sharpe:That that too You got to look at you got to look at the personnel and how like

28:29Shannon Sharpe:Hey, this new day somebody say this new generation we tell it like it is this new generation stay broke That's what this new generation do you can't talk look i get i won't i want to know i want you to go back go to your job and say and say on your job what he's saying and let me know how that work out for you you know it ain't about being stuck in your ways there's a there's a ocho knows ocho the thing i know about ocho and being around ocho ocho joke a lot but ocho knows how how things work in a in a locker room environment in a professional environment i know what lands not to cross i know how far i can go hey now what ocho with his boy ocho had they had a bad game ocho go home with his boys we were some boys we were terrible out there today boy hey i would know i i'm telling that hey the fans booing i was booing too boo hey they're like yeah they're booing sharp they're like yeah me too but you have to understand like what what we say what what i would say to like in a meeting man i couldn't say that publicly nah and the great son all the great players understand look he'll learn he'll learn his lesson he'll understand that being a quarterback first of all second of all he has the c on his chair so he have a double he have a double wear me hojo He is a quarterback and he a captain.

30:07Shannon Sharpe:A lot of times when emotion is high, logic is low. And that's what happens. He's had success and he comes into a situation. And you know how we think. We're going to turn it around. I'm a winner. I've been a winner my whole life. But sometimes even your winning can't overcome what they already got up in there. It's going to take some time for you to flip that around. Yeah. Now also what did Jane Daniels have? He had a change in leadership. He had a change in ownership. Yeah. He got Daniel Snyder up in that. He Daniel Snyder still there. Jane Daniels ain't winning like that. Right. Top to bottom.

30:45You can't overcome bad leadership.

30:49Shannon Sharpe:Right. So now they fixed that problem. They got players around him. Cam, just give him some time, bro. I understand. I know you thought you'd probably have a couple of wins by now. You're 0-4. Are they the only 0-4 team? Are they the only team that hasn't won a game yet? The Saints. I know you probably thought you'd win a couple of games by now. Just give it some time, bro. You're going to have a long career. It's going to be a lot of ups and downs. Hey, everybody can have a damn Tom Brady career. Every year we're in the playoffs. Every year we win the division. And every other year we're in the damn Super Bowl.

31:29Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Boy, if it was only that easy. And that's the problem. People think winning in professional sports is easy. That issue is hard. Yeah. Is it the fact that those that keep doing it consistently year in and year out, that's how good they actually are, where they make it look easy. Yes. That's what the greats do. People think, man, damn, Mahomes has never not played in an AFC championship game. Yeah. That man has been in the league. This is what, his eighth year? He's been to five Super Bowls, Ocho? No, that's crazy. What? That's crazy. And we're talking, it's real life. This ain't no goddamn video game.

32:13Yes!

32:13Shannon Sharpe:Some people play 10, 15 years and don't even sniff a Super Bowl. Whole career without getting there. This man wake up out of bed. Damn, we're at the Super Bowl, honey. It just happens. Yeah. But look. I think Cam's going to be a phenomenal player. They need a little bit more talent. Yeah. They need to protect him a little better. But he'll get it figured out. He's an extremely talented. Hopefully they don't beat him up too bad. The Titans have now lost 10 consecutive games dating back to week 13 of the 2024 season. Ward's start to his NFL career has been rocky. Through four games, he's completed less than 55 % of his passes for 506 yards, along with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

33:02Shannon Sharpe:His 23.4 QBR is among the worst in the league. Damn. I don't think it'll get any worse, though, Ocho. Hey, you're going to have days like this. You will have days like this. Yeah, and matter of fact, it's better to get it out now as opposed to it be happening in the middle or the back half of your career. Get it out now.

33:33I can't wait till tomorrow night, man. God, leave, boy. Your day coming. I can't wait to come on the show tomorrow night, chat, and talk about how the Bengals whooped up on the Broncos.

33:46Shannon Sharpe:You be A.

33:51Shannon Sharpe:Jaguars beat the 49ers, Ocho 26-20, with Parker Washington's punt return touchdown. Now, four takeaways. Former Niner Eric Armstead script sacked Brock Purdy with less than three minutes to play to seal the win for the Jags. Things got heated at the end of the game, after the game, Ocho, with Liam Cohen and Niner's D coordinator Robert Sala had to be held back while yelling at each other. Sala had accused Jags of stealing signs in a legal fashion. He told him, keep my name out your mouth. Yeah. Yeah, they should have threw them throes. Keep my name, keep, hey, keep my name out your dentures now.

34:30Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Now, hey, don't make me run up on you. Hey, hey, hey, Mr. Liam walked up on him like, listen, man, hey, what you doing? Giving all this unsolicited advice. Hey, man, keep my name out your mouth. Hey, he should have shoved him with the finger in his head. He should have gave him one. I bet there you go, man. I'm saying, when it comes to coaches, there are certain things that you're supposed to keep in-house, certain things you're not supposed to share. You know? I mean, how are you just volunteering information that nobody knows about except coaches? You don't do that. So he had to go check him, like Nike.

35:14Hey, they should have threw down right there at the 50.

35:19Shannon Sharpe:Trevor Lawrence, 21-31, 171, one touchdown, no interceptions. ATN, 19 carries, a buck 24 and a tub. 32 rushes, 151. Ryan Thomas Jr. had five for 49. Strange, six for 45. Travis Hunter had three for 42.

35:41Shannon Sharpe:Fumble, but they recovered it. Yeah. Brock Purdy was 22 of 38, 309, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and was sacked once. Christian McCaffrey had 17 carries for 49 yards. Brian Robinson Jr., 5 for 21, Brock 32 for 13. So 24 rush attempts, 83 yards. Christian McCaffrey had 6 for 92 and a touchdown on the receiving end. Tonjes had 3 for 58 and a touchdown. Pearsall had an outstanding one-handed catch, had 4 for 42. Kyle Juszczyk, 3 for 32. Turnovers killed him. You can't turn it over. Every time. It costs you the game, and it costs him the game tonight. Yep.

36:25Shannon Sharpe:Travis did not play at all on defense in the second half. 45 total snaps tied for a season low. 36 offensive snaps. So that means he had nine defensive snaps, right? They got to make up their mind, man. Ocho, let me ask you a question. They got to make up their mind, man. Ocho, you want to be – let me ask you this. If I gave you a choice, Ocho, you can be a lead at one thing or you can be the average at two things. What you choosing? it. I'm gonna be a leader that one thing. Because right now he's averaging both. I don't know I don't know what he's doing. Travis Hunter is the number two pick, right?

37:03Right. I think to me, I know he wants to play both sides of the ball. I would love for him to be number two pick at one position. Well, I would listen. I was all for him being on both sides of the ball. I know you can do it. You got the confidence to do it, but I need you to see, I need to see you on one side of the ball and being effective for your team, either offensively or defensively. What one or the other? As a number two pick, you should be on the field every single down on offense or defense. Because what they're doing is they're bringing them along slow and picking and choosing when to play him, it is not showing the value.

37:49It's hard to get a rhythm like that, though. Bingo. And it's not showing the value in why you picked him number two. Not the way they're using him.

37:59Shannon Sharpe:But didn't he give up? I think he gave up four completions, though, on his nine snaps. He did?

38:12That's one of the games I wasn't able to see.

38:15Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, they don't like, uh, because I be trying to watch it. Do they let you watch individual games anymore? Individual games. Or you got a block, you know.

38:31Shannon Sharpe:I be trying. I be trying to get me a fire stick. I got to get a sit up like I got in Atlanta. I was able to see all the games I don't stay home so after the 1 o 'clock games I go to a place called Upper Dead in Hollandale and all the TVs and the goddamn Jag TV just happened to be on the Jag game happened to be on the TV all the way on the end

39:04Shannon Sharpe:so what but see the thing is it's hard for me to focus so right like i need to get a setup i need to get a setup like i got in atlanta right so i got all the individual tvs ocho right so i could just put like yes i put like six games on knowing that you know and hopefully the games that i have on they're exciting because those you know you always have your games you you know you're going to talk about the cowboys yeah you'll talk about the eagles there are certain teams that you know you're going to talk about now you try to have a couple of games that okay it's interesting and they do something and we're able to talk about them yeah uh like you know the the Jags got Travis Hunter Jags ain't Travis Hunter we probably not talking about them let's be real because we keep hoping that we see a glimpse of what we saw at CU and what we saw at Jackson State right a pick and a touchdown they they they they bringing him along so slow and in hand feeding him more and actually he regressed as far as not playing defense this game and i mean i don't know because the elcho is i mean think about it ocho you do ocho you and i know this man you got to be sound in the nfl them guys are really really good yeah yeah yeah there are no slouches everybody look there are a lot of guys that travis hunter went against as a db and went against as a wide receiver when you're moving like i do trips don't always come together weeks in advance.

40:37Shannon Sharpe:Sometimes production shoots, interviews, or something I've got to travel for on a short notice. 45:03Shannon Sharpe:That's not the NFL. Every guy that he goes against on Sunday is in the NFL. The real deal. Everybody, everybody he's going against was an all state, was an all-conference, was a something. Got some awards, some level along the way. Yeah. Yeah, and listen, for me, what I don't like is I've been spoiled. I've been spoiled watching him at Colorado. I've been spoiled watching him make plays on both sides of the ball. He won the Heisman. He was number two in the draft. So now that I'm spoiled, I'm thinking, okay, he told teams he wants to make sure he's able to play both sides of the ball wherever he drafted the Jaguars agreed to it so what you think I'm waiting to see I'm waiting to see the exact same output what plays that I saw in Colorado even though I understand it doesn't work like that well I think that we you you and others got spoiled thought he was just gonna like it was ready it was ready you know some assembly is required you know how you get toys on show when you was a kid, your mom, your grandma, your granddad, somebody had to put this stuff together.

46:15Shannon Sharpe:Some assembly will be required. They, I mean, Chad, honestly, did y 'all thought they was going to just throw this man out there and he was going to do exactly what he did at Colorado? Y 'all thought he was going to do that in the NFL? I know, I know y 'all have watched the game too long to not say, think that, oh yeah, he's going to do exactly that right out the box. Really, Chad, honestly. I mean, be real. Y 'all, Gen Z, y 'all just told me. Y 'all say what's on your mind. Tell me, y 'all didn't think that. What'd you call him, Gen Z? Yeah, I mean, that's what they say. They say, we tell you.

46:48Shannon Sharpe:Did y 'all really think that the first game, he was going to look exactly how he looked at Colorado? Did y 'all think that? Really? I knew he wasn't going to be in there like that. But now we're in week four. I'm expecting more volume of reps on both sides of the ball. I'm waiting to see that. Okay, let me ask you a question, though. You're expecting these volumes of reps. So you expect it. So, but do you want greatness or you want average? Because right now he's average at two positions. Hold on. The player he is is not average. So he's good. His play. Damn what he is. I'm talking about his play.

47:29Shannon Sharpe:So you tell me. So I'll tell you what. I'm going to take the name out the back. Right. And you don't know anything else. Right. And I just say that number 12. what you tell me what you when you see him on offense you see him on defense tell me what you're thinking of the small plays i've seen yes he got some many and they're using him right i'm just i'm telling you that man was not he was it so he was the nine snaps on defense he gave up four catches you think he got some many well shit everybody no i don't do that no don't do that i'm just Hold on. Timeout. Everybody going to catch balls. What you saying?

48:10Shannon Sharpe:Whoa. No, no, no, no. What are you saying? No, hold on. Wait a minute. He's the number two pick in the draft. Right, right, right. I asked you. I said you want to be average and you want to be elite. You said elite. Yeah. I'm on your side, though. Remember I said I want him on one side of the ball. What I'm saying is, Ocho, is that people expected that he was going to get dropped into the NFL and he was just going to pick right up where he left off. No, no, no, no. You and I both, they get mad at us because we say that's not going to happen. Well, how do you know? Because I played in the NFL. Now, how do you know it's going to happen?

48:50Shannon Sharpe:I played in the NFL. Right. You didn't. Right. So, I know a lot of guys, because here's the thing, Ocho. is that what you think those guys thinking? They're going to dig in even harder. Bro, I'm not going to let you beat me. I'm not going to let you D me up. Guys really be on their best. Ocho, you know when you went against Revis or you went against the top, or Akeem, or you went against the top guys. Ocho, you know you had to be on your best behavior. Yeah, absolutely. That's how they approach him. That's how they're approaching him. so now he just like it's it's it's in his mind i want to do something nobody's ever done nobody's written and and and chuck mcnarrick was the last guy to be a full-time two-way player that was in the 60s he was a center and a middle linebacker they called him concrete charlie chuck mcnarrick philadelphia eagles go look his story up oh joe i i just don't know i just don't know I just don't know what people what they expect yeah I mean give the guy some grace let him have some time but oh he oh he terrible the coach bro it's gonna take time and then it's like well time said well he didn't practice on Tuesday time you know they ain't let no rookie come in and not gonna practice come on time yeah oh so what rookie you know I've never seen a rookie that's come in and not practice at all?

50:21Shannon Sharpe:So when they practice on Wednesday, he gets that day off, a rookie. I've seen vets do that. Yeah. I ain't never seen a rookie do it. I haven't. Have you been around? You played 11 years. Absolutely not. And I've had some rookies. Clinton Portis, one offensive rookie of the year. Mike Crowe, one defensive rookie of the year. Outstanding. They ain't getting no day off. Right. A rookie? Yeah. I see. I've grown frustrated. I've grown frustrated because in my mind, number two pick, he's dynamic. I know what he can do offensively. I understand his skill set. how are they going to use him to maximize his potential?

51:17I just want more. We in week four, and I'm not getting what I thought I would get, even if it doesn't have to be both sides of the ball, even just one side of the ball. You and I agreed that I thought he was a better DB.

51:31Shannon Sharpe:I say play him at DB and put packages. But it seems to be. Liam Cohen on why Travis Hunter only played receiver in the second half, personal decision that had to do with a few things we'll keep in house for now. Yeah, something ain't going right. Something ain't going right. There's no reason things would be going backwards as the season goes on. There's a lot. They're supposed to be adding food on your plate, not taking food off your plate.

52:05So, hey, I'm going to the game. monday i'm going to the game monday and i have a conversation with him on the field i want to know hey liam corp that's the officer coordinator the head coach i'm gonna talk to him on the field too see sometimes you got you got to go straight to the horse's mouth i ain't asking no players i ain't i'm going straight to the head coach on the field and i'm gonna ask him what we doing i just like i

52:32Shannon Sharpe:said look I've seen I've seen I've been on the field and I saw with my own eyes yeah two great and I've seen Travis Hunter the two greatest athletes that I've seen with my own eyes Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders I mean you're young at the time you're missing somebody the two greatest athletes that I've seen with my own two eyes that I was standing on the field and I'm watching. Hold on, hold on. Now think about what you just said. You said the two greatest athletes that you've ever seen. With my own two eyes, yes. You missing one. Who? Me, what you mean who? All you could do is play football. I play soccer.

53:20Shannon Sharpe:What you talking about? You know what, Ocho? If you was in MLS. I was. If you went over there to UEFA, La Liga, I'd say, Ocho, you're right. You're right, Ocho. But I saw Bo Jackson win an all-star game MVP and then go to the Pro Bowl. I see time have the highest batting average for the Braves in the playoffs. And I don't need to tell you what else he did because if you know time, you know what he did. So those are the two greatest athletes I saw with my eyes. All right. I'm going to see you in my eyes. You know what, Ocho? What is going on? what's going on because think about it he said it's a personal decision that had to do with a few things that we'll keep in house for now that that that that don't mean nothing that don't mean nothing i told you what it is things aren't going well doing the both sides of the ball thing and so you you take some off the plate oh again as the season goes on go ahead you want to add to the plate huh i'm good i got my i got my main i got my main my main dish now give me my sides every week you're supposed to add a different side every week you give me more and more as i get acclimated to the to the game right different pack like you now you if you're going the wrong way something ain't right maybe maybe him wanting to play on both sides of the ball it's not going as well as it should in practice i think that's i think that's what it is and i They put so much pressure on themselves and the people that put so much pressure.

54:54Shannon Sharpe:He came in. Look, the reason why he went with Coach Prime, because that was one of the few, if not only, coaches that said you can play both sides of the ball. Right. They weren't going to make him choose, pick one or the other. Right. Jacksonville might have been one of the only teams that said, you know what, we'll allow you to play both sides of the ball. I think the thing is now is that, look, what is in the best interest of this team? not as what is in the best interest of Travis what is in the best interest of this team because right now the question is Ocho are we getting bang for our buck no not right now and to get the bang for your buck it gotta be one spot he has to be one spot is he over there or is he over here right I'd rather him lock it down now look if he goes out there look Brian Thomas you got Brian Thomas on one side you got so forth the song look i don't know because i'm trying to i'm trying to watch this i'm trying to watch them but i'm also trying to watch uh kansas city right you know play at the same time and i'm looking at him and i'm like well damn he ain't in there so now when uh uh when he's not in there playing defense i turn by the time i turn back they done put it they got the ball in their back i'm like later for this i say i ain't watching this game you know i'm saying i ain't watching this game the ball.

56:12Shannon Sharpe:Let me focus on Kansas City. And so then when I turn back, it just so happens I'm turning back and Purdy is back to pass and Armstead knocks the ball out of his hand. I'm like, well, damn. I done missed the lion's share of the game. I don't know, Ocho. I want the guy to succeed, but I want excellence. And if I can get excellence at one spot as opposed to mediocre average at two spots, give me excellence. Give me eliteness. Right. Well, you know what? I will say this. What'd you say? Despite what we may think, despite what we may want, despite what we may think, that him not getting in week four, I'm expecting him to be getting more plays on both sides of the ball.

57:01The fact that the coach says it was a personal decision, I know things aren't looking right in practice, which is why you're not being done in the game. That's the way everything goes. If it looks right in practice, then you do it in the game on Sundays. I just, I want them to give him more time on one side of the ball. Let's listen. You going to play?

57:22Shannon Sharpe:I don't think it's the Jags. I think it's the fans. I don't think it's the Jags. I think the Jags wanted to bring them along slow. Oh, Joe. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, well, we bring them along slow. What on defense? Because you should be playing every rep on offense. Every rep. But see, that's not the thing. Time says he could play both. He wants to play both. The fans want him to play both. So now it puts Jacksonville in a tough situation. Jacksonville needs to do what's in the best interest for the Jags. And that's what they're going to do. And so I said, look, yes, we're going to give you that ability.

57:57Shannon Sharpe:But right now we want you to focus on one. Be great at one. And then as we move forward. But they're trying to balance it out. Okay, we're going to give you 30 plays here, 30 plays there. We'll give you 35 and 35. But. Hell, he ran more players than that in college. Yes. But he ain't going up against the same level of player as he would up in college. Right. I like it. He's going to be all right, though. I'm going to that game Monday, though. That's a 10-minute flight.

58:32Shannon Sharpe:I don't know. I just want him to be great. Whether it's a wide receiver, a cornerback, and then as time goes, maybe year two, year three, he's able to do both of them. He can be great at, because if you can't be great at both, what are we doing, Ocho? Yeah, you got to switch. What are we doing? Yeah. Well, listen, you got to let him live out his dream. You got to let him see if he can do it. He believes he can do it. He's going to put in the work to try and do it, even though it's never been done before. Consistently, let him have at it. We'll see how it turns out in three, four, five years from now.

59:09But in the process of that, do we suffer as a team? No, they're going to be all right. They three and one. They three and one.

59:20Shannon Sharpe:So they're doing something right. Yeah, I thought they, look, if you told me, I would not have taken them to win today. Not today. I wouldn't have picked them to win today. Yeah. But it just goes down. Hey, look, that division might be, look, Andy, Andy looked good. Andy should have won that game today. They gave that game away. Mistakes. Yes. They gave that game away.

59:51I just

59:51Shannon Sharpe:I want him to be great. And if it's at one or the other, but I don't want him to be average and I don't want him to be mediocre in two spots. Be great. Be a great corner. Be a great receiver. I just man yeah because he is talented though Joe but I just I think I'm gonna get great at one and then I'll hey come over there let me dabble with the other I get prime example Shohei they let Shohei he said I want to do pit they said okay but when he just focuses on one what does he look like great he a monster Hold on. Hey, honestly, when he focused on both, he's still a monster. I didn't see any pitch and then go slug home runs too.

1:00:47Same game.

1:00:49Shannon Sharpe:You see what he did last year? 50-50? Yeah. This year, pitched a little bit. Well, he didn't pitch until late. But you see what they sprinkled it in. We'll let you pitch 14 games. we're not going to give you the full docket. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Then we're going to shut you down. Get that bat. Now, he done set the Dodgers record most home runs in the season. How many hit this year, you think? I think he hit 55 or 56. Golly. Well, he already had the record. He broke his record. It was his record. Because remember he had 50, I think, 55 homers last year. I think he had about 60 stolen bases, but he's a 50-50 guy.

1:01:35Shannon Sharpe:He's going to win another MVP. I think here at Aaron Judge, clearly here at Aaron Judge are the two best hitters in baseball. You know I hit 40 home runs in high school, huh? Playing wiffle ball? Nah, what you talking about? I'm a child. Hey, look at my form, huh?

1:01:54Look at my form.

1:01:59Shannon Sharpe:No, the Falcons beat the Commanders 34-27. The Falcons went from the worst loss in franchise history to seeing a decade of an impressive win over a 2024 playoff team. Raheem Morris said wins was the team's apology to his fans. B. John Robinson had a career-high 181 scrimmage yards. Michael Penis Jr. bounced back in a big way. a career high Ocho. He was 20 of 26, 313 yards, two touchdowns through one interception, but we'll forgive that considering how well he played. Man, B. John Robinson's so smooth, man. Damn, he's smooth. And he's nice. He's so electric. He's so exciting. One of those players that you hold your breath when you get the ball because ain't no telling what's going to happen.

1:02:49You don't know which way he going. You don't know who ankles he finna break. He's gonna do somebody. He's gonna shake somebody's ass up. Hey, he's really good. The first man is not bringing him down. The first man is not making that tackle.

1:03:01Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Ojo, you see what they trying to do now, man. They trying to get B-Wags and coverage. Oh, no, you can't do that. That's a mismatch. That's not a strong. Now, it used to not be a mismatch. Yeah. That's how B-Wags, he could come downhill and thump, but he could also cover. Michael Penix Jr. was 20th, 26th, 313, two touchdowns. Bijan Robinson, 17 for 75, one touchdown. Algier, 16 for 51, one touchdown. 37 rushes, 128 yards. Drake London, eight catches, a buck 10, one touchdown. Bijan Robinson, four for 106, no touchdowns. Kyle Pitts Sr., five for 70, and a touchdown. So they had it going. They ran the ball extremely well.

1:03:45Shannon Sharpe:They threw the ball incredibly well. Mariota did not play that bad, Ocho, but they fell behind. They ended up falling behind. Debo had six for 72 receiving and a touchdown. Luke McCaffrey had two for 21 on the touchdown. Zach Ertz had two.

1:04:03Shannon Sharpe:Mariota was 16 of 27. 156, two touchdowns. Let me see what the team stats. Damn, because it don't look like they had a whole lot of plays. Okay, they had 51. Washington had 51. The Falcons had 64. You run about 60 to 65 plays total in an NFL game. But they had 435 total yards. It was one team, Washington. This is why Washington lost. They won eight on third down. The other team was 6-12. Yeah, that would do it every time. Time of possession was almost 10 minutes in favor of the Falcons. They needed this game after they stuck it up last week. Yeah, they needed. And I love the way Penix bounced back, Ocho.

1:04:52Shannon Sharpe:I love. But that city would have been on fire. They lost two in a row like that. Well, I guess now people say, well, now I see why they fired.

1:05:05Shannon Sharpe:I kill you. Man, they're going to win this game. Whether they fired Ike or not, stop it. That wasn't nothing but a scapegoat, man. Ocho, I thought you said Cleveland's going to make this game close. What did it end? What, 2017? 34-10. Goff threw two touchdown passes to Amon Ross St. Brown. The Lions beat the Browns 34-10 for its third straight win. The Lions and the Joe Flacco twice in the first half scored 20 straight points for a 13-point lead at half. St. Brown has three touchdown catches in his last three games. He has six receiving touchdowns this season. the second most in the first four games of a season in franchise history, trailing only Megatron Calvin Johnson, who had eight in 2011.

1:05:52Shannon Sharpe:St. Brown is also the NFL's first player with six receiving touchdowns in his team's first four games in a season since Atlanta's Calvin Ridley had that same number in 2018. Man, that joke will be getting open. Hey, every time. He is an elite, precise route runner. You can't press him. You can't play off. Everything about it. And they be stacking him. They put him in that bunch formation. What you going to do? It's a wrap. And he'll block. And so he confused you. Because a lot of times, he may seem like he blocking. He done leaked out to the flat. Get his ass open. He's nice. He's nice. He is.

1:06:33In the slot. Listen, to be small, he can actually go on the outside, even though they don't ask him to do it. He can go on the outside and just get it off the muscle. One-on-one. You get up there and press if you want to, you could be standing at the back of that goddamn jersey.

1:06:50Shannon Sharpe:J-Mo. Jerry Goff was 16-27, 168, two touchdowns and one pick. That was a great pick by Denzel Ward because he overlapped. He just kept sinking. They ran the park and tried to run the deep cross. He didn't have no threat in the flat. So he kept sinking. Kept going. A lot of times guys don't do what they're supposed to. But Jameer Gibbs had 15 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown. Hey, he beat us. That boy be running, man. Joe Flacco was 16-34, 184-2 interceptions. Isaiah Bond, nobody really did anything. Isaiah Bond had three for 58. Judy was three for 48. Junkins, four for 33. Junkies did run the ball really well today.

1:07:38Shannon Sharpe:He had 21 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown. But Detroit looked good. Detroit's flying around. They got after Black O. Aiden Hutchinson, two sacks. Are you sure he's not going to get, what you call it, money? I think he is. He's going to get Michael money. Okay. He's going to get it, Ocho. All right. He's going to get it. how many sacks does Hutch got now Ash? This season? Three? Three? That's it? So that one against Lamar and two today? Yeah, I think I might be right.

1:08:23Shannon Sharpe:How much longer do the Browns stay with Flacco? Ooh, that's a good one. is Stefanski on the hot seat like the ball was?

1:08:38Yeah. Because that comes into play. If his job is secure, shoot, they might let Flacco ride this thing out unless it just gets horrible.

1:08:50Shannon Sharpe:They're not winning. If I'm a defense, it's tough. Because we got a defense good enough to win that can keep us in game. But our offense keep putting us back out there and wears us down. and then yeah I would I would just you got four sacks Ocho oh four okay but he probably got a bunch of he got it for how many four where we know he got one forced fumble that's what's backbreaking because as a defense we know we're good enough right but right now our offense can't help us. And he got two forced fumbles on it, y 'all. He gonna get it. He gonna get it. What do we do? Goff has been nearly targeting St.

1:09:35Shannon Sharpe:Brown. He's completed 87 % of his passes when he targets St. Brown, 9.9 yards attempt. And comparing his 69 % completion rate with 6.8 yards per attempt when targeting all other guys. So, Helly Dabney, perfect no matter who he's throwing to, but he really owed point when he threw to St. Brown. Dan Campbell described the connection between golf and St. Brown as an art form. Josh Blackwell blocks a field goal to preserve the Bears' rally 25-24 over the Raiders. Chicago had four takeaways for the second game in a row, allowing the Bears to survive a mid-performance by Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson's offense.

1:10:20Shannon Sharpe:They gained 271 yards, just 69 on the ground. Ben Johnson said, that's a huge character win for our team. I just love it for them. Let's see here. Let me try to find. Try to see what these stats look like.

1:10:44Nice like this I wish That raindrops would I don't want to see

1:10:53Shannon Sharpe:I want to see Nice like this sign Or a bangles putting BTA Stop saying that I'm telling you. What you telling me, Ocho? Tell me what you telling me. The Bengals are going to beat the Broncos tomorrow. Tell Pat Sertain, don't even show up because Uno going to have 150. Nah, not against the Broncos. I mean, he might on Ross, but he ain't going to get that on PS2. No, PS2 is following Chase. Chase going to have 150. Now, you know, when he followed Chase last year, they targeted five. Don't do that. You'll see. I have spoken. You trying to speak in a – ain't no power in your tongue. The Bears spoiled a breakout performance by Aston Gentry, who rushed 138 yards on 21 carries and became the first rookie, Ocho, with three touchdowns in a game since Bo Jackson in 1987 against Seattle.

1:12:03Shannon Sharpe:uh genti rushed for a touchdown and caught two scoring passes genti was balling today he was balling and i like i like you know what i like that he did he went back to his stands too well he wanted he wanted to stay in the stands it was them that changed it yeah but he listen he was in it today on that touchdown he's standing straight up yeah Ocho Gino you gotta be better bro what happened I missed that part three interceptions that's what happened oh

1:12:40Shannon Sharpe:that's what happened you gotta be better Ocho this team is not good enough to overcome those kind of mistakes or play from behind no

1:12:57Shannon Sharpe:14-21. 117. Two touchdowns. Three picks. They had four turnovers. Three picks on a fumble. They're not that good to overcome that. Congrats to the Patriots for beating the Panthers. Drake May had an unbelievable game. for a second. Drake May. Carolina went right down the field and scored, don't you? I'm like, okay. Okay, they're going. Oh, it's going to be one of them games, back to back. Yeah, I thought so. They scored, and that was about it for them. Drake May was 14 of 17, 2-0-3, two touchdowns. Stephon Diggs had his best game as a patch, six for one-on-one. Okay, Diggs. get them boys that business what Bryce Young was 18 of 31-51 touchdown he was relieved Andy Dalton was 5 of 6 for 58 yards and a touchdown

1:14:04but nothing to write home

1:14:06Shannon Sharpe:about and the Bills they beat kept the Saints winless now it's time for our final segment of the evening it's time for Q &A let's go Who they? Who they? Who they think they're going to beat them Bengals? Who they? Who they? Who they think? Lon 7-1-1-5 said, who's the best quarterback y 'all seen, past or present, against all our blitzes? And Unc, Shea by LaPortier will be coming to my local ABC store in Alabama. Man, people were afraid to blitz. It was hard to blitz Peyton and Brady. And Brady. Because they knew you were coming. Yeah. and know exactly where the open person was. So I would probably, I mean, and for guys that can't run.

1:14:55Shannon Sharpe:See, a mobile quarterback, I want to blitz him because, Ocho, I want him to make a decision right now. I don't want him to have time to think. So I'm going to speed his ass up. I'm going to make you make a snap decision. Right. Those other guys, Brady and Manning, they know you coming. And know exactly where the ball goes. They pretend like they don't know you coming.

1:15:18Shannon Sharpe:I would say who you want. Who you want. I'll take who you don't want. You want Brady or you want Manning against all our blitz? I'd probably go with Manning. I'll take Brady. Big nuke ambassador getting ready to bring Titletown back home. I guess he's talking about the Titletown is the Packers, Green Bay. Big nuke ambassador. Oh, hold on. No, I guess he's talking about Kansas City because he's like same guy. Mahomes plus one musket plus one shotgun equals too many weapons. I like that. That's a good one. A's go crazy. Let's talk about Mitchell. He'll be a top three cornerback in the NFL in my eyes if he's already happening.

1:16:03Shannon Sharpe:And Cooper got that INT. I agree. Hey, Mitchell, they put him on a Buka because Buka was going crazy on everybody else. Yeah. Abuka had a nice look yesterday. Oh, yeah. Went for about 67.

1:16:23Shannon Sharpe:Kemper Norwood Jr. said, I hope Malik Nabors is all right and the Giants have something special in Jackson Dart. I hope he's all right, too, but the news does not look good for Malik Nabors. No, he tore his ACL. I know. Yeah. Man, that's messed up. Here we go again. I'm going to say it again. Boy, you can have my knee. They're creaky. Jason Zipsdorf. People complain about college overtime rules. At least there's no ties in college football.

1:16:54Shannon Sharpe:Dwayne Lockhart. Duh, Bears! Keith Oliver said, it's still Tampa Bay, guys. It's still Tampa Bay. Adam Smith says, I'm a Packer fan, and I'm super embarrassed right now. What the F did I watch? That Jordan Love bro be having me furious. Yes, and I understand why. I understand why. Red, I said, why is Ocho trying to steal Nightcap blueprint? Oh, why is Ocho, my bad, Ocho? What he did? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Well, we've started Nightcap going after the games. There's a lot of other people that started doing that also. But we were the originators and people like I spent on it.

1:17:36Shannon Sharpe:Oh, okay, okay. They come to us. They come to us, Ocho. Yeah. Phillip Turner said, how y 'all feel about the Colts after this game? I feel like the Colts gave one away. they did that's what I feel like Dr. Frank L. Bellamy cue the theme music we them boys y 'all not them boys slow down a little bit pump your brakes Ocho Brown's number one defense child please one pride Lions I mean Bible Patel said what y 'all think about Lamar faking an injury cause he was getting his you know what handed to him the Chiefs are still the Chiefs offense going to be explosive once Rasheed Rice is back in two weeks.

1:18:20Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to take a man at his word. Man said he had diagnosed with a hamstring issue. I've never known Lamar to duck any smoke. Nah. First of all, even if they try to steal... Look, we don't have no copyright on who can go on after the game. Right. There's only one Uncle Ochoa. They don't break the game down. They can't tell stories like we can tell because they ain't been through what we've been through. It's different. So we different. Different.

1:18:57Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Bills. Bills fans, really? Y 'all want us to spend 10 minutes on talking about y 'all? Y 'all beat the Saints. Patriots fans, really? Carolina? Y 'all happy about that? Now, y 'all just got the door blown on your last week. Y 'all remember? Last week? y 'all wasn't crying then y 'all they say hey man talk about us talk about us now y 'all stop it they got the win they got the win today dj said go birds he means the eagles chris said you play the game you play to win the game there's no ties in sports nfl is uh nba is king chris you don't even believe that you don't even believe that nba is king nba is king what no he said it's king he said the nfl is trash because they have ties man please angie carr said packers are still undefeated in jerry's world true tata fg said okay don't show i turned 24 today where were you when you were 24 what would you tell your 24 year old self if you had a chance 24 i was in the league I was in my...

1:20:06Shannon Sharpe:Ocho was in the league. I was in the league. What year? What year? 2004? No, when you were 24. 24? By the way, happy birthday, bro. Happy birthday. I was in the league giving him hell. Hey, I had Roger Goodell taking Tylenol. I was on the cusp of making my first Pro Bowl.

1:20:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, what I would tell myself. I would have some good days. You're better than you think. Don't beat yourself up. You're going to make mistakes. You're not perfect.

1:20:51And falling down is easy.

1:20:57Shannon Sharpe:The hard part is getting up. Getting up. And when you get up, stand up. brush yourself off go at it again Tyron said is it time for the Browns to go to Dylan or Shador Sanders not happening I think we're a couple of weeks away from that I do unless the fancy job is on the line he is not making a switch this early the ball made that switch for a reason absolutely Brea Carter said Uncan Ocho, today is my 30th birthday. Happy birthday, Bria. Can I get a happy birthday? Also, are you guys going to bring back trivia or Spell Ocico? Yes, we absolutely are going to bring back Spell Ocico and Dunk On Unc.

1:21:47Shannon Sharpe:We need to find somebody else because the person that's picking the questions now is trash. I just want to know the person that's picking these trivia questions, these words, is ass. Wait, I'm quick. Did you take it? See what happens when you don't know the answers? Oh, I wasn't supposed to say that. My bad. My bad. I'm supposed to keep that in house. That's why it's called trivia.

1:22:14Shannon Sharpe:Man, but see, Ash, look, I'm going to do the words for you, Ocho. I'm going to do the words for you. Nah, because you, hey, the words you give me, not even in the thesaurus. officially uh officially i said overtime rules need to have an established winner nah they're not fit to keep playing like that the games are too brutal games are too late bro y 'all don't see it's easy for people to say this that's never played in an nfl game mocho easy keep playing keep playing it's easy to say that first of all you said uh We want both teams. Y 'all want everything. So y 'all want to keep playing. So if you play an extra 30 minutes to hell, so what?

1:22:58Right, yeah. And a boy to be tired, boy.

1:23:03Shannon Sharpe:Like, man, all I'm saying, I just wish everybody that talks about what they could do in an NFL game, I just want them to go to Lowe's or Home Depot. I just want them to buy a hard hat like you see these construction workers have. And I want you to get into a lineup about 10 yards from your garage I want you to get on a windbreaker. Not a night. You don't have to get a heavy jacket, but a light jacket. And I want you to run into your garage as hard as you can 60 times. And I want you to do it 60 times. Now I'm going to say, you know what? We're going into overtime. And then I want you to do it another 10 times.

1:23:39Shannon Sharpe:And then tell me if you think, you know what? They should continue to play. No, sir.

1:23:50Shannon Sharpe:or I'd have caught that pass sure you would have I'm almost certain you would have caught it Joe X Black said Uncle Nocho I'm confused as a Cowboy fan can I say foot or ball tonight no because you didn't win nope at all shoelaces because you're tired Ken Wood says how does the clock not run out Vegas. Oh, he's talking about that green bag with one second on the clock. Yeah. Avenue Central said Ocho tries raccoon if the Bengals lose tomorrow. I like that. I like that.

1:24:38Shannon Sharpe:I got a lady in Glenville, go whip it. And now, if when the Broncos win tomorrow, I'm going to have that lady that's sitting frozen, that bull, dick, and onions, and you will eat it right on nightcap. You will eat it on nightcap.

1:24:57Shannon Sharpe:Hell no. Spiritual war exposed. Lamar saved Harbaugh Jawa for eight years. Eight years ago, John gets outclassed by every elite coach. Year eight, Lamar still has zero protection. Can't blame Lamar at all. Oh, it's hard to say you can't blame him at all. because he did throw the interception, he did fumble the ball.

1:25:26Look, at some point in time, you know, maybe not in the cards.

1:25:31Shannon Sharpe:Maybe it's, you know, he's going to have to play a couple more years, maybe two, three, four more years. But look, Lamar Jackson is going to want Josh Allen type money. Zay Flowers is going to want big receiver type money. That's where we are. you're going to have to make some decisions. You got a 20-plus million dollar linebacker. You got a 24, 22, 20 million dollar safety. You got a 19 million dollar corner. You already got like a 40-something million dollar quarterback. You got a 15 million dollar running back. You're about to have a 26, 20, 30 million dollar wide receiver. Woo. At some point in time, they're going to have to say, okay, it's justified.

1:26:21Shannon Sharpe:They're going to have to go to a Super Bowl, Ocho. Yeah, that window of opportunity is closing for that as well. You're absolutely right. Bob O 'Partel said he declined comment on Lamar's injury, wasn't in the tent, and that weak-ass rap on his half hat and his hamstring. He was just worried about protecting his passer rating because Spag was running circles around him. I don't know anything about that man The man said he had a hamstring injury That's what they said I'm going to go with that Until we'll see if he's out there next week If he missed some time We'll see how it is Horace Tidwell said Can you shout out my nine and under Pop Warner team Buffalo Stampeders from Village, Florida We're 5-0 Getting ready for the playoffs Averaging 38 points a game Gave up zero TDs Damn Buffalo Stampeders in Villages, Florida.

1:27:13Shannon Sharpe:Let's go. Congratulations on not another team. Good luck in the playoffs this year. Bring the championship home. A's go crazy. We going undefeated this year. Go birds. No one can outfight us. Man. Undefeated. I don't know about all that now. That's a very difficult. Christopher E. Evans Jr. said, At some point, Ravens have to figure out a better way to attack Spaggs defense. I don't understand why they didn't learn more to quit game than they did their first drive to screen play as the Justice Hill touchdown.

1:27:52Shannon Sharpe:They can figure it out sooner or later. Astros said, y 'all not mentioning Lamar's all-pro center literally punched the ball out. I think Lamar ran into the back of him, didn't he? Yeah. It's a fumble. Look, if the center don't have the ball, they're not going to blame the center. I'm sorry. Right. Shelly Regans said, Ocho, can somebody please get this man some tea? Yeah, Ocho, you need some tea. And you need to go to Jack in the Box. It sounds better now. It ain't as deep no more. 97 said, start one, cut one, trade one. Fred Warner, Michael Parson, TJ Watt, all in their pride. I'm taking TJ Watt.

1:28:36Shannon Sharpe:I'm starting him. Yeah.

1:28:47Who's last?

1:28:52Shannon Sharpe:I ain't getting rid of TJ. He's been defensive player of the year. He's always in defensive player of the year consideration. Right. So now it's betrayed and cut. I got to keep that heat-seeking missile, man. I'll trade Fred. I'm sorry, Michael. I got to pass Russia. Wait. I need a middle backer. Oh, okay. I see what you're doing. I see what you're saying. Okay. I just said 17 said, what's your prediction on the Jags chiefs? Jags defense created 13 turnovers already. I'm taking Chiefs. Jags gonna win. Hurrah Kaifel said, Uncle Ocho, can y 'all wish my Cus Finnan a happy birthday? Even though he tried running our fantasy league like a dictator, he's a good person.

1:29:50Shannon Sharpe:Finnan, happy birthday. Cus said you tried to do too much in the fantasy league, but you good people anyway. JJ said, I'll be a Packer fan until the Ravens get their ish together. Pepper said, Ocho, is proud of himself the way he got the chat rolling. Aaron Jones, AJ was on clamp. He was targeted nine times and couldn't get any separation. We blame our OC every game, but our players need to be better too. Quentin May said, talk nice about the Bucs. We'll see them in the playoffs. David said Peyton Willis ran 22.48 miles an hour today. Next gen stat on the chase down. What was the guy that tried to chase DK?

1:30:37Shannon Sharpe:Because he had the fastest net-gen stats ever recorded. I think he was over 23. That was Isaiah Rogers. Yes. He had the fastest ever recorded at 23. I didn't know he had that kind of speed. Oh, no, he fast. Yeah, he fast. He very fast. I mean, I saw him run out from under the angle of the quarterback, but I was like, oh, that was a quarterback. But, hey. He can go now. Adam Smith said, I mean, you're not wrong with Cam saying that, but keeping it real, maybe it wakes day. Bro, they got the same team. Guess what? They're going to wake up Monday, and that's going to be the same team. Ain't nobody coming back in there.

1:31:14No Eddie George.

1:31:16Shannon Sharpe:No Eddie George, no Earl Campbell, no Mason, no Yancey Thigpen. None of them got coming. No Javon Kurz, no Samari Rowe, no Blaine Bishop. None of them. I seen Samari last night, too. Did you? Yeah, we had a little. Danny B said Cam Ward needs a competent head coach and Jesus. Timothy Humphrey said, oh, Jim Moore used to call his teams trash all the time. Well, he said, you know what? I remember he said something about Andy. Y 'all go back and look it up. And they asked him about the playoffs. I said, playoffs? Hey, that was a classic rant. His quarterback was Peyton Manning. classic rant hey uncle nocho what's the difference in field turf what's the difference between grass turf and astroturf would you have different cleats on yes i would prefer grass next i would prefer turf field turf and astroturf they should have never had that because that was basically just concrete with a rug laid over the top of it i don't know i look i said barrett barrett's i don't know how Barry ain't got knees and hips are still in alignment with all that jump cutting he did, Ocho.

1:32:36Shannon Sharpe:He did, yeah. I don't know. Ricky A said, yo, what's up, Uncle Ocho? Do you guys believe NFL needs to somehow change the current overtime rules and not allow games to enter the tie? You play to win, not to tie. How about them Cowboys?

1:32:54Shannon Sharpe:Well, they could go back to the roadway. First team score. Y 'all didn't like that. No. So now you want both teams to possess the ball. I thought – why both teams got to possess the ball? So each team get a chance to win. That's what you play – don't you play your defense? Defense stop them.

1:33:16Shannon Sharpe:Ain't going to be satisfied. Mm-mm. Details ahead, Ocho. I opened up my red phone. Ocho put money up on the man. Let's run it. Ocho, I'm going to send you an Xbox man and some AA batteries. No excuses. is bet on the sticks, man. Nah, you don't want to do that. Trust me, you don't want to do that, especially when it comes to gaming in general. I mean, the fact that you even challenging someone of my caliber is ridiculous. DC said, what is he doing wrong with the defensive side? Right now, he looks more average to me. I guess he's talking about Travis Hunter. I'm assuming you have to ask the coach.

1:33:55Shannon Sharpe:Yay. Babel Patel said, how do y 'all feel about Sirianni trash-talking Baker? In my opinion, he should shut the up and worry about how he gets his receivers the ball. Another head coach be trash-talking on the sideline. That's his thing. He's adopted the Philly way. Yep. Robert, the thing is, Travis missed anything thrown to him. He used 40-inch vertical today and almost caught both. Came down awkwardly on that one. It's going to take some time. I just think there's two, the expectations that you guys thought he was going to just be Travis, Heisman Trophy Travis, his first year in the NFL. And people that know the game, that played the game, that studied the game, knew that wasn't going to happen.

1:34:45Shannon Sharpe:As Sean Tight End said, Unk, are Ravens players starting to quit on Harbaugh? We're getting pushed around. Is Harbaugh the problem? feel like playoffs last two weeks? No. No. Dolphins versus the Jets tomorrow night. Can we all feel the electricity in the air? No, but I'm taking the Jets. Who you got, Ocho? What you mean who I got? What you mean who I got? You know who I got, huh? Fins up. And you know who's going to win. Fins up. Dolphins down. Both my teams winning tomorrow. Ain't happening. somebody say just kick the ball just kick the ball so just have a field goal competition Dallas is going to win because Dallas guy can make it from 70 thank you guys for joining us for another episode of Nightcap as we watched a very entertaining game if you loved offense Sunday night game was all for you the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers play to the most points ever scored in an overtime in a tied ball game.
