In short

A sports recap and debate-heavy discussion of multiple NFL games, focusing on Broncos–Texans (Broncos win 18-15), Daniel Jones’ struggles vs the Steelers, Panthers’ upset over the Packers, and whether Brock Purdy is the “answer.” The hosts also discuss broader themes like red-zone difficulty, defensive impact, and coaching decisions.

Guests

No specific named guests appear in the provided transcript. The episode is hosted by “Ocho” and “Unc” (referred to repeatedly), with no other guest bios mentioned.

Key claims

  1. Broncos’ defense is elite: four sacks, stuffed the Texans’ run (28 carries for 77), and had a game where they didn’t surrender a touchdown.
  2. Broncos’ offense needs creativity in the red zone; they “move up and down the field” but struggle to score.
  3. Daniel Jones had a “bad day at the office” with three interceptions in a Steelers win (Colts evicted 27-20).
  4. Panthers’ win was powered by Rico Dowdle: 25 carries, 130 yards, two TDs; the offense shouldn’t become one-dimensional.
  5. NFL scoring is hard in the red zone; turnovers and defense decide games.

Notable examples

  • Broncos: Will Lutz 34-yard game-winning field goal; Bo Nix 18/37, 173 yards, two TD, two INT, sacked once.
  • Vikings–Lions: Minnesota defense pressured Goff (five sacks) and forced a key Montgomery fumble.
  • Patriots–Falcons: intentional grounding after a snap-count simulation; Falcons missed a PAT late.
  • Jaguars–Raiders: Trayvon Walker disqualified for punching; Jaguars won 30-29 in OT.

4:03Shannon Sharpe:Oh, let's get to the game right here. The Broncos beat the Texans by the score 18-15. Will Lutz, 34-yard game-winning field goal. It was the Broncos' fourth win this season in a game in which they trailed the start of the fourth quarter. Mm-hmm. It was also the fourth game this season in which the Broncos' defense has not surrendered a touchdown. Six-game win streak, the longest since the 2015 Broncos when they went on to win Super Bowl 50. Hey, you see how good that defense is? You see what I mean? all field goals. You see what I mean? I know it's not the early 2000s, but when you have a defense like that where all three levels of your defense is very, very good, there's really no weak link.

4:55Well, actually, there is one weak link. They pick on him all the time. Riley Moss. I mean, that would be your weak link. That would be your fish. But other than that, man, shoot. but y 'all willing to deal it. But guess what?

5:11Shannon Sharpe:When they need to get in field goal, go back and look at when they played the Giants. What did the quarterback do? Bo Nix, what did he do? When they played the Eagles when they were down, what did Bo Nix do? When they played the Houston Texans and they needed to go, what did Bo Nix do? As great as the defense played, if Bo Nix doesn't do what he does, they're not winning. Bo Nix, 18-37, 173 two touchdowns intercepted he was sacked once davis mills was 17 of 31 37 he was sacked twice they got the broncos had four sacks if i'm not mistaken i think i'm almost certain they're leading the league in sacks um they did a great job stuffing the run 28 rush attempts uh for the texans 77 yards the broncos uh had 18 rushes for 173 yards but you know I just don't get the Broncos sometimes.

6:10Shannon Sharpe:I mean sometimes they're like they just go up and down the field. Just move up and down the field. And then again the next day you know like bro what happened? Why y 'all struggling? Hey Unc it's difficult in the red zone. I told you. See your own team having problems with it too. They barely got to the red zone. Hold on. You move up and down you move up and down the field. You get in the red zone and then you can't score. It's not it's very difficult. It's hard. it's hard especially if you don't score from far out but once you get inside that 20 boy you got to be creative as hell or you got to have some players that can win one-on-one and be phenomenal that's very difficult

6:56Shannon Sharpe:oh no oh Joe we only got to the red zone one time but y 'all sorry

7:05and we had two turnovers and y 'all hey listen y 'all had two turnovers y 'all were able to overcome it we had two turnovers we weren't able to overcome it and we scored 38 matter of fact we scored 42 we scored 42 now what you think how you think we're looking if we y 'all defense come on you want everything

7:35Shannon Sharpe:this bad world this bad world everything who does bro who does broncos have uh uh who did broncos play next week you should be coming up to a bye yeah so we we on our bar so i ain't listen i'm i'm good I ain't got to worry about nothing Oh the Broncos got the Raiders on Thursday Yeah y 'all gonna lose that game Oh lord have mercy Y 'all gonna lose that game We gonna sack Gino by 10 times Nah I'm saying that Understand how football works Understand how the football gods work It's just the way it is As bad as the Raiders have played this season I mean this season in general For some reason it's a game like this Where you expect you expect the Broncos win but I don't expect them to win I expect them to play good I expect the Raiders to play bad and we win okay okay yeah we gonna see who get the last laugh all that laughing and Kiki and you was doing today we gonna see we gonna see next Sunday we gonna see who get the last laugh bet that this my Hispanic Heritage hat if you place an order tonight on 84.com you will automatically be entered to win this signed hat and

8:58and

9:00Shannon Sharpe:one of these hats will have bingo suck Shannon 84 oh I put it on silver so

9:17Hey, boy, you feeling good, boy. You feeling good. I mean, listen, rightfully so, but boy, you going to be in for a rude awakening, boy. Going to be in for the rude awakening. Hold on. I got a pee-pee.

9:40You don't see that?

9:43Shannon Sharpe:Some lucky fans gonna win that.

9:49Shannon Sharpe:And the Hispanic Heritage Hat. Yeah.

10:09Shannon Sharpe:Ocho team. I'm y 'all know Ocho was ready to go after they took that got that onside kick and ended up scoring that touchdown. Y 'all know Ocho was up there happy. He was celebrating. It was short lived though. It was very very short-lived somebody is gonna win Well, you have to buy these but somebody's gonna win this one purchase something on 84.com and automatically be enrolled entered to end win this Hispanic heritage Yeah, oh okay, okay So if you purchase merchandise you'll automatically be entered to uh to win all four of these hats hopefully it's a Raven a Steelers or a Bengals or a Browns fan cause uh everybody else know they yeah Ocho you was happy when y 'all scored that touchdown they got the all side kick and just scored again I was hyped absolutely I was hyped I was jumping up and down I was hitting my kids looking at me daddy what's wrong I say nothing we about to win baby what you mean what's wrong No, that ain't about to happen.

11:21And man, that's such a, oh my goodness, man. If I could explain the letdown and the hurt and then boom, it hit me. Why do I always do this? Why do I always do that? You invest so much into a team. Not only did I play for them, but I still support them. I still show up to them. I know you do. And I'm invested into it. I'm invested into the seasons as if I'm a fan. I enjoy the game of football as if I never played it as if I never played it that's why anytime I go to a game like the fan experience for me is like it's like it's new to me because I've never been on the other side I've never been in the stands I've always been on the field so I enjoy so much from a different perspective it hurts a little bit more it hurts a little bit more because I played the game I played the game and I want and I'm looking and I know what you're supposed to do.

12:17Shannon Sharpe:That's why I said you can't divest. You can't become desensitized because you care too much. It's nice try though. I mean, you try to convince yourself of that, but you and I both know that's not the case. Ocho, the Minnesota Vikings go in, they get J.J. McCarthy back, and they go in and they beat the Detroit Lions by the score of 27-24. J.J. McCarthy, 14-25, 143, two touchdowns, one interceptions. Aaron Jones Sr. had nine carries, 78 yards. They ran the ball 29 times for 142. But it was Minnesota's defense. Jared Goff was 25 of 37, 284, two touchdowns, but they stuffed Sonic and Knuckles. 20 rushes, 65 yards, and one costly turnover.

13:08Shannon Sharpe:David Montgomery fumbled the ball, and that was the difference in the ballgame. But they got after Jared Goff. They sacked him five times. Minnesota played really well. J.J. McCarthy, I thought, played well today. He was able to move around by some time. But especially that backbreaker where he ran the ball, he broke, contained, he got the ball in the end zone. Justin Jefferson, he had a touchdown. Addison had two catches for 48 yards. Jetta had six for 47. Hawkinson had two for 11. Well, listen, it was a deep of the day, huh? It was a deep of the day. Neither offense has had, you know, extreme, extreme, crazy production, you know, what we're used to seeing.

13:49And I knew if Brian Flores could find a way to stop the run, I mean, most of the time when teams do the run, when Detroit can't run the ball, they're still able to be efficient through the air. They're still able to be efficient through the air. But Brian Flores dialing up that goddamn pressure, you know, excuse me, getting golf off the spot, I mean, they play really well. You got to pressure him because you know he's not going nowhere. He can't go nowhere. He can't move.

14:20Shannon Sharpe:Both quarterbacks were sacked five times. Campbell, Barnes, Lacey, Hutchinson got a sack. Muhammad got a sack. And then for the Hargrave, Wilson had two sacks. Redmond had a sack. Drake Rodriguez had a sack. But I was surprised. if somebody would have told me that Minnesota was going to go there and win that ball game, I wouldn't have believed them. Because I thought Detroit was playing really, really well. Really well. The only reason, if they did tell me that Minnesota won the game, the only reason I would have believed them is the fact that I understand how good Minnesota's defense is. Now, some weeks, some weeks they get trashed.

15:00I think it might have been last week, if I'm not mistaken. They look abysmal. They look horrible. I think it was last week. But I understand when they're playing well and they're playing on all cylinders and everyone is playing as a unit, they're as good as any other defense in the NFL. And it showed a day. It showed a day. And being able to stop Jameer Gibbs and Montgomery is a tall task. It's a tall task. And they did one hell of a job at it.

15:25Shannon Sharpe:Well, I think the thing is, Ochoa, when you look at this, they got sacked five times. They had committed 10 penalties, which was a season high for 76 yards. They were 5 of 17 on third down. We know Detroit is very, very good in third down because normally they're third and manageable. You keep getting those third and long, those third and eight, third and 10, third and 12. You start keep playing behind the sticks. Five or 17? Right. Nah, nah. So that means give Minnesota credit, like you said, because their defense was getting them off the field on third down. They were three of three on fourth down.

16:03Shannon Sharpe:But I think you had to give Minnesota credit. J.J. McCarthy played well. He didn't have to do a whole lot with his arm. They were able to run the football and keep Detroit somewhat off balance. But Detroit, hey, that's the thing is that. Knicks, that's KNIX leak-proof underwear, isn't just for one moment. 20:46Shannon Sharpe:How you thought you, whatever you thought was going to happen, you don't know. Ain't no guarantee that you're going to do the same thing you did last year offensively. You see it's different. It's a big difference from year to year. Oh, we did this last year. Oh, we went this last year. It ain't no guarantee. It's not a guarantee that it's going to play out for you this year. The Colts, six turnovers. Hand the Steelers evicted 27-20. Fans had a funeral at Steelers defense aside at your shore stadium before kickoff. Inside the stadium, there was a resurrection. The defense got five sacks, forced a season-high six takeaways, and held the league's best offense to 20 points.

21:29Shannon Sharpe:That right tackle, I think it's Braden Smith. Yeah. He got his ass kicked today. Oh, yeah, absolutely. He got a kick. He flat out got a kick today. He should go and apologize now. Daniel Jones, he was awful. Ain't no way around that. He played terrible today. But that right tackle gave it up. Now, Jones did get a little unlucky. He's trying to throw a ball out to the left side. The guy bats it, and it carried him back, and the Steelers got intercepted. But the mere fact that it was still a game, Mocho. Yeah. After five sacks and six takeaways, and it's still a game? lets you know just how good they can be if they don't turn it over like that.

22:12Turn the ball over, yeah. And that was the difference in this game. Yeah. They turned the ball over. And the fact that it was still a game, Daniel Jones, listen, it wasn't a good day for him, but he still threw for 342.

22:26Shannon Sharpe:342. Yeah, he still threw for 342. Three interceptions. And the funny thing about it is if the Steelers didn't play, didn't play well on defense, they would have got obliterated. Yeah. If they didn't turn, if Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts didn't turn the ball over, they would have got obliterated.

Read the full transcript

22:47Shannon Sharpe:Aaron Rodgers was 25 and 35, 203, one touchdown. They ran the ball 23 times for 38 yards, which is terrible. But like you said, their defense bailed them out today. Their defense absolutely bailed them out today. When you get six takeaways and sack the quarterback five times, that's a score that probably should have been, you probably should win by three, four touchdowns. Yeah, absolutely. But it just goes to show you that Andy has a good defense, and the Steelers are going to have to do a lot better offensively, Ocho. Because a lot of teams are not going to give you six takeaways. No. Hey, hell, you get one or two, you're probably going to win the game.

23:27You get six? It should be a blowout. Six? Man, that happens in high school. Getting six most of the time, your quarterback has to be horrible. Yeah. Horrible. So, you know, Daniel Jones had a bad day, but he's looked phenomenal all season long. He's looked phenomenal all season long. So having one day like this, okay, boom. Yeah. I'm human. I'm human. I'm making errors. I'm making mistakes. I'm back to the drawing board. Monday morning, you reset, and you come on back next week and pick up where you left off the week before you played the Steelers.

24:04Shannon Sharpe:Right.

24:09Shannon Sharpe:Falcons Raheem Morris said the Patriots defense simulated the snap on a key four down play by clapping, leading to an intentional grounding penalty by Michael Penix. The Falcons trailed 24-23 with 2-0-9 remaining at the end of the game, and the Patriots 48-yard line when Ryan Nuzel snapped the ball on the second down before Penix's other offensive line was ready for it. The Patriots immediately pressure Penix because nobody else moved, who threw the ball towards the dirt in the direction of Kyle Pitts. Penix was called for an intentional grounding, resulted in a loss of doubt and a 10-yard penalty.

24:47Defense simulating a snap count or snap is a 15-yard penalty

24:52Shannon Sharpe:on the NFL discerning signals. It's rarely called, however, because it's hard to pinpoint where exactly the clap or the sound's coming from in the stadium. but see that's why you don't clap that's why when you're on the road normally what they do Ocho you have the guard are you ready? yeah I'm ready he tapped the center he tapped the center he flashed in front of his hand when you clap come on now but you ain't in college no more that's what they do in college right well you shouldn't have been in this situation hell you tie the ball game up and your damn kicker come out there and shake the PAT

25:31Shannon Sharpe:that's what's heartbreaking it. Yep. All you got to do is make the PAT. Put pressure on the on the Patriots to go down and get a field goal. Yep. It was a good a Drake may you realize the goddamn Patriots to seven and not seven and two. Yeah. I know another team to seven and two who also know a team that's not seven and two. I mean who you talk about who you talk about. I know a team that's 72 another team that's 72 I said the Patriots I know another team besides the Patriots are 72 oh you're talking about the Bills I know another team shoot I think that's about it it ain't who you talking about whoo I know who is at 72 I know a team that's only won like three games yeah so it's a few of them yeah Yeah.

26:32Who are you talking about, Baltimore?

26:33Shannon Sharpe:I mean, they give up like 40 points a game, like it ain't nothing. We score 40 a game too. But it's never on the W side. I mean, listen, sometimes life gives you lemons. You make fruit punch.

26:53Shannon Sharpe:The Patriots, they are 72. Drake May was 19-29, two touchdowns, one interception. The Falcons got after Mocho. They sacked him six times. Dang.

27:10Shannon Sharpe:Drake London had an outstanding game. He had three. Boy, he gave Gonzalez fits. Hey, you know what? He gave Gonzalez ass fits. That's a great matchup. Two big on big. Well, he lost. Well, Gonzalez lost that one. Yeah, big on big. I mean, shoot. Drake London with nine for 118 and three TDs, huh? Three. Yeah, Bijan didn't really get off the day. He only had 12 carries for 46. Mm-hmm. That's not enough. Eight. 16 rush attempts, 71 yards. Eight. The receiver. Douglas got off. Yeah. I think it was revealed after the game. His uncle was shot and killed. Yeah, last night. Mm-hmm. Stephon Diggs had a touchdown.

27:56Excuse me.

27:57Shannon Sharpe:Hunter Henry had four for 51. Look, the Patriots. Gonzalez man he gets injured a lot too yeah he injury prone he's really good though when he healthy I'm talking about all the way right boy he nice I ain't seen him play a whole year yet he nice but I think Newland's gonna be a tough out they're well coached they're good enough offensively defensively look Bray will cut his teeth on that side of the football so you know they're going to be able to get after people defensively but hey and they've already gone to Buffalo and beaten Buffalo in their building

28:51Shannon Sharpe:bless you so it's going to be the AFC East look it's a two team race is Buffalo and New England. That's it. That's it. The thing is that you can't afford to have any slip-ups when you play those other two teams. So when you play the Jets and the Dolphins, you're supposed to do what you're supposed to do. So you ain't got nothing to worry about. But I thought Atlanta was going to pull this one out. I can't. I can't against the PAT, Ocho. You go down the field, Drake London make a hell of a catch. a hell of a catch and then you can trot your ass out there and shank it shank a pot of us hey the fact that the Patriots man had a 20 year had a 20 year bid man of nothing but consistent consistent success at the quarterback position and then figured it out already and got another damn quarterback and it got them hell I think Matt Jones could have would have been fine for them had they not messed it, had Coach Belichick not try to have a special teams coach and a defensive coordinator be his offensive coordinator.

30:02Shannon Sharpe:Because remember what he was like when he had Josh McDaniels? They went to the playoffs that year. He was nice. He was nice. But then, I'm just saying, I'm trying to just give you the example of the Dolphins is where we ain't got the right answer since God damn Marino. Nope. And the damn, that damn Patriots have figured it out that fast. NYX, that's K-N-I-X, leak-proof underwear, isn't just for one moment. 34:54Shannon Sharpe:Ojo, your team, the Carolina Panthers. Hey, hey, hey! Talk, talk. Rico Dowdle. Hey, give me the same energy. 130 yards, two touchdowns, a big run in the final minutes to set up Fitzgerald's last second 49-yard field goal. It's the second time this season that Fitzgerald, a rookie from Florida State, has made a game-winning field goal as time expired. Packers star tight end Tucker Craft was carted off the field. Many believe it was an ACL injury, but they'll wait to get results back tomorrow. LaFleur said it doesn't look good. It's going to be tough, but it's football. Other guys are going to have to step up.

35:34Shannon Sharpe:I was surprised that when Cuba Hubbard came back, that he got more carries than, than, than Rico last week, last week, considering the stretch that Rico had put together. I don't think there's any doubt. Now Rico Donald is the number one option. What? And basically if you're tired, tap your helmet and we'll send you. Well, other than that, you ain't bring your ass out. They, they, they talk to it. They talk to coach about it in the media. Like, what are you doing? What? Young Bull got the hot hand. Rico got the hot hand. Hubbard last week, I think Hubbard, if I'm not mistaken, had more carries and whatnot.

36:10But boom, Coach said, going forward, Rico is going to be the one that get the bulk of the carries. He got the bulk of the carries today. What did he do? 25 carries for 130 yards and two TDs. Stay with the person that has the hot hand. I respect Hubbard. I like Hubbard. But right now, the offense is flowing very, very smoothly. through goddamn Rego Dotto. You don't change it just because someone's coming back off injury.

36:37Shannon Sharpe:Like I said, the thing is, is that the question you ask yourself, if the guy that comes in for the guy that's injured, and I know the injured guy is the starter, but if the guy that comes in is running the ball better than the starter was before he got injured, that's his job now. It ain't that complicated. I think sometimes we make it, you go back, oh, a starter can't lose his job because of injury. Yeah, the hell he can. you could lose your job if you out sick you lose your job sick and let somebody come in and fill in for you and do a better job than you what you was doing before you got sick see when that person get that job 25 for a buck 32 touchdowns after what he did to the Cowboys after what he did the week before when he went over 200 man stop not playing get that man the ball absolutely their defense did a job a hell of a job Because, I mean, damn, Green Bay's offense.

37:33Shannon Sharpe:Jacobs had 17 for 87. They had 25 rushes, 104 yards. Jordan Love had 26 of 37, 273, no touchdowns, one interception. He was only sacked once. Bryce Young was 11 of 20, 102 yards, no touchdowns, the interception was sacked once. But Rico was the difference. Yeah. Rico was the difference. yeah man yeah panthers i told you all we got to do sometimes listen it ain't gonna be pretty every week no sometimes you got to win games like this sometimes you got to win games ugly sometimes when you go to the corner store you ain't got to put makeup on you ain't you ain't got to be all dolled up put your bonnet on put your house shoes on you know sometimes you gotta you gotta get it ugly sometimes.

38:25This is one of them games. You get it ugly. That's why you say you keep pounding. Keep pounding. It ain't gonna be pretty every week. You ain't gonna throw for 300, 400. No. You know. Huh?

38:39Shannon Sharpe:You just gotta win. That's it. You just gotta find a way to win. You gotta run through your running back. Play option after that. You got, you know, you got good receivers. McMillan. You got Leggett. Leggett. Excuse me. Hunter Winfro. Jimmy Horn. But, hey, they haven't even had a day or a game yet where they got all them boys involved, man, and where Bryce Shucker just did it like he a dealer at the casino. That day is coming. That day is coming where everybody eat. You get a ball. You get a ball. You get a ball. It's coming. We didn't need that in the day, though. Give it to your bell cow. Rig it down to you handle that.

39:19You keep pounding.

39:21Shannon Sharpe:Handle that. Man, Joe, this does. Can you imagine what this does? you go to green bay and you get a win what with this young football team coaches in there tell them say see when we play our type of football we can beat anybody we can go anywhere and beat anybody we can play with anybody we don't have to take a back seat to no one at all at all i just i just i just i just i don't want us i'm talking about us but listen i'm a huge fan of this team. I don't want us to become one-dimensional. I don't want us to continuously rely on the running game. Because you know what teams are going to start doing, huh?

40:00Stopping it. They drop it nine in the box. They drop it nine in the box. You know what? Well, we're going to make Bryce Young beat us with his arm. Can he do it? Absolutely. Hell, he did it at Alabama. He showed flashes of being able to do it in the NFL as well. so I mean hey I'm excited I'm excited for the boy I'm sure we got a few Panther fans in the chat I'm sure the city is happy they're elated coach some of the pressures off of him especially with the way the team is playing now Bryce Young playing very well shoot he ain't on the hot seat ah let's go

40:40Shannon Sharpe:he pounded Jaguars defensive end Trayvon Walker was disqualified in the third quarter after punching Raiders offensive lineman Stone Forseth following the Raiders field goal. He punched him? Walker threw a violent punch that landed in the face mask of Stone who was also penalized on the play. The fouls offset but Walker was the only player kicked out. Walker had just had a surgical procedure on his wrist a month ago. Walker was penalized but not ejected for throwing a punch in the 2024 game against the Vikings. The fine was$11 ,817 for a violent act deemed unnecessary. The Jaguars won the game in overtime 30-29 after the Raiders failed to convert a two-point conversion.

41:27Shannon Sharpe:Trevor Lawrence was 23-34, 220, no touchdowns, one interception. They ran the ball 42 times for 151 yards. Geno Smith, 29-39, 284, four touchdowns, one interception. He was sacked twice. Brock Bowers, welcome back. Brock. 12 catches, buck 27, three touchdowns. Aston Gentry had five catches, 47 yards, and a touchdown. And it looked like he had a guy open for the two-point conversion, but the defensive end jumped up and he batted it down. Devin White, 16 tackles, eight solo. Hey, you know what? This is the one I was able to see every game today, except this one. All the way out there in Vegas. I'm not sure.

42:15What do you call it? Where certain games, you can't get certain games in the area?

42:20Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I was able to get every goddamn game except this one. Yeah. Look, the Jags are 5-3, so they're still, what, two games behind Indy? Right. I mean, it's going to come down probably. We'll see how long CJ's out. CJ took a vicious hit. Yeah, I saw that. I saw that. And that game ended up getting concussed and didn't come back in the game. But the Jags, you know, you have to be impressed with them. But I don't know what I'm going to get with the Jags. I see one week they go play great and they beat Kansas City. And the next week they just go lay an egg. So I just don't know the consistency and what I'm going to get.

43:05Yeah. And, you know, it all starts with the quarterback too. Everything starts there. if he plays well, he has to always be even keel. He has to always be even keel. Defense, you don't know what defense is going to show up either. That's always been a problem for them as well. Letting up, some days they look like they got damn 85 bells. Some days, ugh, it don't look good.

43:31Shannon Sharpe:And in the ball game, Ocho, we have a new NFL record for field goal. 63. 68. 68, I'm sorry. The record was 66. Yeah. By Justin Tucker in Detroit. And then this kid, remember, Ocho, he kicked a 70-yarder in the preseason. Willis, right? Is it Willis or Willis? No, Little. Little, okay. What's his first name? His last name is Little, but he got a big-ass leg. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Hey, do you understand? But these guys, the distance, I mean, you know, you got the Dallas kicker, Aubrey, he got three kicks over 60 yards. Yeah, he nice. You got the guy from Jacksonville, not Jacksonville, Tampa.

44:08Shannon Sharpe:Right. He kicked a 65-yarder earlier this year. The distance in which these guys can drill the ball now, it's incredible. Yeah, see, not only is it incredible, I think you have to understand what people don't understand how difficult it is to actually kick the ball. They've narrowed the goalposts. Not only have they narrowed the goalposts, the further out you go, the further out you go, the harder it is to be accurate. The harder it is to be accurate with that much power and force and kicking the ball and to be able to control it that far out and wanted to go straight down the middle. Or, hey, what if you're kicking off the left half?

44:42What if you're kicking off the right half? Man, that's very difficult for that damn far out. So, I mean, that's huge. That's a huge, huge congrats to Young Bull, you know, getting that NFL record, man, because 68, man.

44:55Shannon Sharpe:Man, that thing would have been good for about 72, Ocho. It hit the back of the wall. Oof. That kick would have been good from 72. Yeah. Now, he drove it. I mean, he drove it, Ocho. I mean, it didn't. Line drive. but he knew he had to drive it in order to get the distance that he wanted. I mean, he hit it flush. He couldn't hit it better. If you put the air on that, it ain't going to get there. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I mean, Ocho, when I first got to the league, guy kicked a 50-yarder, you were like, oh, my God. Oh, yeah. Now, a 50-yarder, you expect, you're like, it ain't no hoping, like, Lord, please let him make this kick.

45:36Shannon Sharpe:A 50-yarder, you're like, you better make that. That's a BAT for these guys now. Yeah, that ain't nothing. Now, 58, 60, 62. Eddie, as routine. Yes. As routine now. Yes. I just knew. I thought the Cowboys kicker would be the first guy to kick a 70. Aubrey. I think he got leg. But it's going to have to be at the end of the half. They're not going to let you do it at the first quarter. It's got to be the end of the half, something like that. And he's going to break it. He's going to break it. They're going to let him do it. They're definitely going to let him do it. They're going to come in a situation where the Cowboys are playing, and they're going to allow Auburn to go from 68, 69, hell, maybe even 70.

46:17He's going to reset that record.

46:19Shannon Sharpe:Because he's in the best situation because he's indoors. Yeah. He's indoors. And you see this record was broken in Vegas, indoors. Indoors, yeah. Tucker broke the record, indoors. Yeah. or somebody that Denver is at, you know, at altitude where the ball travels. Travels, right. So if it's going to be outside, it's probably, now it's at 68, it's probably going to have to be in Denver or in indoor where the elements don't come into play.

46:51Damn.

46:52Shannon Sharpe:Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers run all over the Giants on the way to winning 34-24. McCaffrey recounted for 173 yards from scrimmage, 106 on the ground on 28 carries and 67 yards on 5 catches a week after a franchise low 10 rushing attempt, Shanahan team ran the ball 39 times for a buck 59

47:19Shannon Sharpe:I'm not surprised that's normally how it works when got a lot of his dad make up about him like okay we got to get our best player of the football handy to him Mac Jones played incredibly well and that's what Ocho this is what you want from your backup I need you to keep us afloat until the starter comes back he's done more than that he's what I thought he would be in this offense this offense is perfect for Mac Jones I mean he got great anticipation they run the football they do a lot of play action A lot of boots, a lot of roles. McCaffrey was great today. Jennings caught a touchdown. Ran a whip, you know, started inside.

48:11Shannon Sharpe:Back out. Kendrick Bourne did what Kendrick Bourne normally does. Look, it's tough when you, I mean, 21 for 117 yards. Not bad, Ocho. Jackson Dart was 24-33, 191, two touchdowns.

48:29Shannon Sharpe:But.

48:34Shannon Sharpe:49ers, 49ers. Like I said, the 49ers, the Rams, and Seattle. You could possibly get three teams out of that division, Ocho. Yeah. Hey. Just like you got last year, you got three teams out of the NFC North. Mm-hmm. You might get three teams. I think. But I thought Matt Jones, 19 or 24, Ocho. 235, two touchdowns. No turn. Oh, he fumbled one. He lost the fumble. They're going to come out. It's going to be them and Seattle. They both going to come out. What about the Rams? Oh, man. The Rams is a... You like the Rams to win the division and those two teams, Seattle and 49ers, get the wild card? Yeah, absolutely.

49:18The Rams are automatic, huh? The Rams are automatic, especially once they get Puga back. And with Puga's absence, they still cutting the fool because Stafford and goddamn Devontae Adams out there having a goddamn ball. But Mack Jones is playing so well, especially when they filter the offense through goddamn... I'm getting ready to forget. McCaffrey. They filter the offense through McCaffrey, and then they run to open up the pass, and it makes everything so much easier because defense is worried about McCaffrey because he's a dual threat. Hell, if he's not running out the backfield, he isolated with the mismatch on your goddamn backer.

49:54Shannon Sharpe:What when is the 49ers bye week? Have they had their bye week yet?

50:39Shannon Sharpe:Have they had it yet? Capurdy got to be coming back pretty soon. But Mac Jones, Mac Jones has done his job. Mac Jones has done his job. Damn.

50:56Shannon Sharpe:Ooh, that got to be the latest bye. What happened? 49ers bye is week 14. God damn. That's what I'm saying.

51:13Shannon Sharpe:The Chargers beat the Titans by the score of 27-20. Dayon Henley's older brother, Jabari, was shot and killed Friday night in Los Angeles on Halloween. Henley came through today with seven tackles. It was his third sack of the season, a tackle for a loss and a QB hit. Henley said after the game, right now, I'm just floating. The only thing that's consistent right now in my life, and that is crazy to say, is football. So for me, that's why I'm out here. That's why I'm out there because this is the most consistent thing that I've got in my life right now is football, and I'm just trying to make the most of it.

51:45Shannon Sharpe:Rest up, bro. We had him on, Ocho. We had him on, Ocho. Yeah. We talked about, you know, we understand. he understands his father and the path that he chose. And he told him, you know, his father's today. And he said, I don't want to go there. And his father, you know, made sure he shielded him and protected him from that. Yes, sir. I don't know the situation. And I'm not going to even speculate. All I know is the man lost his brother tragically. And so I don't want to get what I'm saying. He understands that. And he says, man, it's just like I saw in the locker room. He's like, man, I'm just, he said, I just fell to my knees, man, to be honest with you.

52:19Shannon Sharpe:if I'm going to be all the way real with you guys, man. I can just imagine. Yeah. Imagine. But he said, you know, he found out. Denzel Perryman knocked on his door and woke him up and told him he needed to call home. And I can just imagine the hurt of what he felt in that moment. And still, he's still dealing with it. Justin Herbert was 19-29, 250, two touchdowns, one interception. Tennessee sacked him six times

52:54Shannon Sharpe:Rodney Gass in the second five catches 68 yards Lamb of Conkey four for 56 Quentin Johnson four for 53 on a touchdown Keenan Allen had two for 41

53:07Shannon Sharpe:but Justin Herbert was the leading rusher with 57 yards on nine carries Cam Ward 12 of 21 145 no touchdowns nor interception was sacked four times. They didn't run the ball particularly well. They didn't do anything particularly well today. And they were still in the ball game. Even though they didn't do anything really well offensively, Ocho, they still had chances in this ball game. And give a... If I'm not mistaken, I think the 49ers... The Chargers stopped them on goal to go on two occasions. See what I'm talking about? See how hard it is to score?

53:48Huh?

53:49Shannon Sharpe:What's that?

53:53Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, the Titans. Yeah, so yeah, I guess the Titans offense and the Bengals offense, that's similar. Okay, I get you though. Whoa, hold on. I see what you're putting down. Come again? Who said that? You said it. You said it's hard to score for the Titans. They got a rookie quarterback. Okay, but okay, I get you. I'm picking up what you're sitting down. they don't don't that's now that's disrespectful that's totally disrespectful i mean we score on 40 points a game there's a difference but you did the red zone and you didn't no i'm i'm telling you i'm trying to help get you to better understand how difficult it is to score in the red zone it's very difficult when you don't score when you got that kind of offense because there's only so much you can do when there's a small amount of field to work with very small very small the Rams run roughshod over the Saints 34-10 Matthew Stafford was 24-32 281 four touchdowns, no interceptions no turnovers Kyron Williams 25 rushes, 114 yards they ran the ball 43 times 471 yards Puka Nakua, seven catches 95 yards, a touchdown.

55:14Shannon Sharpe:Devontae Adams, five catches, 60 yards, two touchdowns. Ferguson, two catches, 54 yards. Allen, three catches, 37 yards. Tyler Higman had 13 and a touchdown. This is like how many touchdowns Matthew Stafford got? Damn. He should be leading the league. If he's not leading the league, he should be top three in touchdowns.

55:42Shannon Sharpe:because i mean he had five touchdowns against jacksonville he had four today that's nine i know he had at least nine in the other games that he's played

56:00281. but man the ram i mean the uh saints hey they didn't listen they didn't they didn't Ben Spencer Rattler for Tyler Shook.

56:11Shannon Sharpe:It don't matter. Hey, I've, man. You got 21. He leading the league? Who he tied with?

56:24Shannon Sharpe:I think Mahomes had 21 total touchdowns coming in. I don't think he had. I think he had like 18 passes.

56:34Shannon Sharpe:Oh, okay. Okay. Okay.

56:40Shannon Sharpe:Rams look good. They can get after you with the, ooh, they can get after you with the defense. Verse and Young.

56:50Yeah, so they can get after you. Listen, they can get after you on defense. You got Fisk.

56:56Shannon Sharpe:Man, Young got off the ball, and they called it, he had a sack, but he hit the quarterback right up on his chin. Chin, yeah. Man, that's hard, man. When the boys be going full speed like that, coming off their edge, man that's real hard it is now i can't i can't land on you i gotta land to the side i can't put my body weight down on you that's crazy you know what they should do to be petty defense ends and tackles that tackle the quarterback she just tacking him and just hold him just just hold him up just hold him just like like like child's play just shove him in the back get whiplash.

57:36Shannon Sharpe:Then they're going to say you can't do that. They'll find a way to protect the quarterback. But I get it. I get it. The game we love, how much it has changed. All right. We're going to get you out here on this one, Ocho. Oh, just got scored on again. Damn. Hey, listen. Make all the jokes you want now. Make all the jokes you want now. It's week nine. and i'm gonna tell i'm gonna tell you again god don't make no mistakes we gonna see who get the last laugh you're laughing you laughing about laughing at my bangles let me guess y 'all going to the playoffs no i didn't i didn't say i didn't say all that but y 'all definitely won't be yeah y 'all definitely won't be there we ain't going to the playoffs absolutely not okay absolutely hey no no your broncos or your ravens neither one of you so we all gonna be in the division Huh?

58:34Ravens going to win the division. You talk about division? You talk about like a math problem?

58:41Shannon Sharpe:Hey. You talk about a math problem? We're going to beat the Bengals again. We're going to beat the Bengals. And the Steelers. And the Browns. And you know what? Your confidence. I wish. I wish I had that kind of confidence. I do. I do. I do. All right, Ocho. We'll get you out of here. It's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q &A.

59:22Shannon Sharpe:Aaron Owen says, I got cerebral palsy, and I can run for 100 yards on the Bengals defense, shaking my head. Sad. Might as well trade Hendrickson. Damn. Hey, listen, the trade deadline is November 4th. Tuesday. Tuesday, yeah. So you never know what might happen. It's going to be some furniture moving, you know, in these next two days now. We got 48 hours. Ocho, Jason Zeldorf said, Ocho can't say foot or ball. He can't say any word with the letter D in it because the Bengals have no D. So he's not even allowed to say first. Burst down?

1:00:06Shannon Sharpe:Damn well you can't say that.

1:00:12Shannon Sharpe:NYLGND38. Shannon, a damn fool. Suntime. Ocho provoked me. Oh, man.

1:00:22Shannon Sharpe:King Rockage said, Ocho's bingles are cooked like shrimp and grits. Yeah, it's all for y 'all, Ocho. It's all good. everybody everybody happy everybody want to pile on us right now why not red hood said ocho don't you ever say the bingos run the north y 'all are comedy relief for the browns the division has always been between the steelers and the ravens go show some love to the only team that took you to a super bowl the patriots you're a patriot i'm a bangle the patriots didn't drive no no no you You were trying to claim the guppies. The Patriots didn't draft me. I'm from Miami. Did you play for the Patriots?

1:01:03Shannon Sharpe:Yes or no? Not really. I didn't do nothing while I was there. Yeah, but you did. You caught a touchdown. You caught a touchdown against the Broncos. That's only one. I remember it. That's only one. That's okay. You caught a touchdown. You was there. I don't count. Yeah, it is. Go to your Wikipedia page and see if they got you in there playing for the Bengals. For the Patriots. Yeah, I know the Patriots, right. Nah, it's not. Philly Talk with PA. Packers and Lions performance show why Eagles, Rams, Seahawks are the only team in discussion for the NFC. Jordan Love is a roller coaster. If Jalen Hurts had the game he had today, he would be crucified.

1:01:43Well, obviously, you talk about two totally, totally completely different offenses.

1:01:49Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Jalen Hurts doesn't play or run the same type of style of offense that Jordan Love does. So, I mean, I don't think he would ever have that kind of offense unless there's just no running back at all, you know, for the Philadelphia Eagles. They throw the hell out the goddamn ball over there in Green Bay. So it's completely different. He doesn't put the ball in harm's way either. No. Frank Stenis said, Broncos country, we ain't bad and we ain't cocky. We run old people like a cow with soccer. Yeah, okay. Okay, okay. Y 'all feel good, huh? Hey, I'm just saying, listen. I feel attacked. No, I'm not attacking you.

1:02:31I'm just asking. I'm saying you, your fans, and Bronco Nation, y 'all feel good, huh? Bronco Country. Oh, Country, Nation. I'm just saying y 'all feel good. Great.

1:02:46Bless me.

1:02:57hey that's funny yeah

1:03:00Shannon Sharpe:gold standard Shadour Sanders can play in the Canadian Football League next year if he wants to start full time even if he plays this year it will be a few games take what you can get

1:03:16Shannon Sharpe:I do believe he's gonna play though this year I believe he's gonna start yeah

1:03:25Shannon Sharpe:tomorrow 01234 so which team is hiring mike mccarthy falcons bengals dolphins giants cards qb developer a floor raiser a multiple a multiple 12 win season in two different teams so who's hiring mike mccarthy falcons bengals dolphins giants or cards now Now, listen, if there's going to be a change in Cincinnati, you know who I want to come? Who? John Gruden.

1:04:02If, I'm just saying. Like, I don't have any issues with Zach Taylor at all. I just don't. And I'm just speaking if change is to happen, if they were to do something, I would want someone like John Gruden.

1:04:18Shannon Sharpe:and they changed the defensive coordinator remember Lou Amarillo was the coordinator they said no it's you they got a different coordinator and guess what same results because they got the same players out there bingo I'm glad you just said that and you see how well Lou's defense is playing in Indy

1:04:40yeah

1:04:42Shannon Sharpe:Josiah Trung man you dodging my help to be on your tech man like you dodging up with the money. I'm persistent. I can be an intern just need something on my resume. Wait where you at? You told me on X. Ain't nobody send me no message. Brad Martinez with Dolphins and Bengals. Ocho won't be able to say foot or ball all year long. Damn. That's all good. I think I say it I say it in Spanish uh oh don't listen you keep telling him about them guppies and bungles yep guppies you got everybody on your side too huh okay Duce Stafford for MVP let's argue it's hard to argue right now he's Absolutely in the discussion.

1:05:49Shannon Sharpe:I think Stafford's in the discussion. I think Josh Allen's in the discussion. Mahomes is in the discussion, but I think he's lost too many games. He'd have to win out. Lamar would be in the discussion, but I don't know if he's missed too many games. You know what I'm saying, don't you? Yeah. Who else? While you're bulljabbing, Justin Herbert's going to be in the discussion. Oh, yeah. He's willing and he's willing and dealing. Hey, don't look now. What about Drake? With that guy in the Pacific Northwest, Sam Darnold. Oh, yes. Yeah.

1:06:27Shannon Sharpe:Mm-hmm. Dr. Frankie L. Bellamy, Ocho, Cowboy fans. I've been numb for almost 30 years, so don't feel bad. Yep. I'm counting on you to be numb again one more time, Doc. Tomorrow night. Tadez G. Ochoa said the Bengals are good at drafting. Their first round pick has three tackles and nine games.

1:06:51Well, I was talking about from the offense, I was talking about offense, receivers. Have you noticed we always have receivers consistently?

1:06:59Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, but you need somebody to protect those receivers. You need somebody to get people on the ground. You see how consistently y 'all don't have people to get people on the ground or go attack the quarterback? Yeah, that's always been a problem. I was talking about when I said drafting receivers, I was very specific. Oh. Okay. Yeah. Horace Tidwell, my nine-year Buffalo Stampeders, won their conference championship game tonight, 33-13. We're headed to regionals. We are now 10-0. Boys, love y 'all responses. Appreciate that, man. And congratulations to the Buffalo Stampeders. Good luck at regionals.

1:07:33Shannon Sharpe:Blown coverage. Ocho, there's a bank local to Cincinnati that claims they protect your money like the Bengals protect the end zone. I'll never bank there. Your money ain't safe. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They open up the vault and let people just come on in then. Hey, y 'all got the jokes at night, huh? Nah, nah, Ocho. KT93, if Ocho was on the Broncos team, were y 'all a different, do you think you still win the Super Bowl? And if you were on the Bengals team, do you think? no I ain't making no hard with him but no there's a reason why only one bingle has made the hall of fame that's Munoz so I put my own jacket on Munoz was what like an 8, 9 time first team all pro all those pro bowls 10, 11 pro bowls, 10 time all pro yeah that's alright I think he did that I think he tore his ACL in college.

1:08:39Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, Munoz was the real deal, boy. Yeah. He was. Dion the Goat, what's up, Ogunocho? Been doing intermittent fasting for like a month. Have you ever tried it? And what are some tips, if any? I'm doing 18-6. You doing what? So that means he's fasting for 18 hours and only eating six hours. Well, fasting? Intermittent fasting. So you only eat between a certain time. So let's just say for the sake of argument, it's 24 hours in a day. So you take your last meal at 7 or 8. That means you won't eat again until 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 1. Yeah, so you wouldn't eat again until like 1 o 'clock in the afternoon.

1:09:26I mean, listen, I mean no disrespect. I'm sure there's a valid reason why he's doing that. but why would someone want to do that

1:09:35Shannon Sharpe:well I mean the body they said you definitely going to lose weight you only eating in a certain time frame so you eating you know so you got that time frame to eat get all your calories in and then the body you know rids itself okay so I might try let's try it Ocho I ain't shit hell no I'm eating I'm eating I'm getting all my meals in no matter what time of day it is. Jason said, first Ocho was a bingo, then a dolphin. Now he's a panther. Man, Ocho was a bandwagon fan. I mean, I'm a dolphin. I mean, if you're a bingo fan, would you be rooting right now? Yeah. I wouldn't want nobody to know.

1:10:26Shannon Sharpe:Something you just take to your grave. We're going to be all right. if I'm a bingo fan all the stuff that's in my house the memorabilia I'll take you down and put it in the drawer when they come over you'll take it down yeah I don't want anybody to know that

1:10:46Shannon Sharpe:I might try it I might try that what that faster yep I think I could probably do like 14-16 hours I need to eat somebody my size I need to eat a little bit more than that six hours ain't gonna be enough ain't enough I can't get enough calories in that length of time right I need at least eight hours I mean I can't do that right now with the way the way I've grown you know if I eat every two and a half hours that'll put me right at about seven and a half eight hours yeah so I gotta feed the body I can't do that you know I'm sure you must be feeding the grass cause you small as a mofo who small I'm 210 right now no you ain't never seen 210 I'm sure you can see it you can see how I'm sitting everything is just I'm just sitting right I mean if you take that cover off that microphone and put it on your head I couldn't tell the difference

1:11:49hey listen

1:13:23Yeah, four people get one chance to win the hat.

1:13:27Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, you won't win all four hats or two hats. So four people will win four hats. Seahawks beat the Commanders. Jayden Daniels was injured in the ballgame. He was in the ballgame late in the ballgame. Why he was in that ballgame, I have no earthly idea. They were down 31 points with no chance of coming back. The only thing that can happen, the worst thing that can happen, it happened. Risk of injury. It seems like he has a dislocated elbow on his non-throwing arm. We'll see when they get him an MRI, get an x-ray, see what the timetable is. But that's normally at least a four-week injury. But we'll see how well he can maneuver and throw with a brace on.

1:14:14Shannon Sharpe:the Bengals lose 47-42 although Joe Flacco had the most passing yards in his career 470 that still was not enough to overcome that porous defense thank you guys for joining us I'm Unk, he's Ocho we'll see you tomorrow after the Cowboys Cardinals game guys thank you so much for your support thanks for watching staying up late with us tonight we greatly greatly appreciated that I'm Unk, he's Ocho we out
