Guests/backgrounds
No formal guests are introduced in the episode. The hosts are Joe, Ocho (Uncle Ocho), and Joe’s co-hosts (plus occasional references to other podcasts). Oakley and Ewing are discussed as former NBA teammates; Steph/LeBron/Draymond/Porzingis/Jimmy Butler are discussed as players.
Key claims
- Oakley says Patrick Ewing is a “coward” for not speaking to him in Cleveland after 10 years together; Oakley frames it as part of broader issues.
- Steph Curry is “planning” to meet LeBron to recruit him; Bleacher suggests LeBron could finish with the Warriors on a two-year, $30.8M deal.
- AJ Brown admits he leaked Eagles stories “purposely” to create a push; hosts debate whether it was smart.
- SI ranks offensive triplets by team (e.g., Rams #1: Matthew Stafford, Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua).
Notable examples
- Oakley stories: driving 10 hours to confront someone; allegedly slapping a player during another team’s shoot-around; MJ reportedly being the only one who could calm him down.
- Rockets retro: 1994-95 championship-inspired look with yellow returning to the franchise palette.

0:58Shannon Sharpe:Charles Oakley now says he's beefing with his former teammate, Patrick Ewing. But Patrick, not to be a man enough to come and talk to me after having his back for 10 years, he's a coward. Nah, nah, nah. The last straw was when we was in Cleveland, and he knows I'm from Cleveland. He knew I was at the game, and he didn't speak to me. As many times as he's been to my mother's house, he can't speak to me? Nah, I'm drawing a line. I mean, I played with him for 10 years. He's just not a good person. He might make money, all-star dream team, but that doesn't make you a good person. Lord have mercy. What's going on with you?
1:34Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Joe, that's your world. I don't know. I didn't know he had to be with Patrick Ewing. Because, hell, if I knew this was going to be the topic, you know me. I'd hit his ass up. Hell, I'd have got to come on the show. Hell, I know him. Hey, Uncle Joe, we on the other side of the hill, man. We on the other side of the hill. We ain't got, we not supposed to be beefing, you know, at our age, you know? Not at our age, you know? They got to fix that. They got to fix that, man.
2:03Chad Johnson:I don't think it's, I don't think you can fix it, Ocho.
2:06Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to take, listen. I know Oak. Been knowing Oak 30 years. Oak is the type of dude, if you cross him, it's over. Yeah, but that wasn't, it wasn't crossing, huh? You know, he didn't speak to him. That's really nothing to be angry with.
2:21Chad Johnson:Well, I think it's more to it than that, Ocho. Yes. I want to it than that. That was just one incident he probably pointed out, you know, considering the fact that he from Cleveland was at the game. Yeah, you know I'm at the game and you don't speak to me. But it's more that doesn't happen than just being in Cleveland. You know what I mean? That probably just took the icing off the cake. You feel me? Right.
2:44Shannon Sharpe:Right.
2:44Chad Johnson:Yeah. Man.
2:46Shannon Sharpe:I wish I'd known because I'd have come over here and tell you.
2:49Chad Johnson:It ain't too late.
2:52Shannon Sharpe:man it's uh
2:54Chad Johnson:man I don't know what the hell he is
2:56Shannon Sharpe:I'll get him on I'll report back to y 'all what he tell me he'll probably want to come on and tell you his damn self so I don't misconstrue anything Oak probably got a lot of pressure right now he need to get off his chest the stuff with the Knicks at the Garden, James Dolan now Patrick Ewing and he probably just need to release some stress man, just let it all out ask Oak if you want to fight fight who?
3:23Chad Johnson:me come on man chill yeah
3:29Shannon Sharpe:he done chill now I'm like bro so he can release all that anger man you can just use me as a puncher bag and then let all bygone be bygone oh man look like I said when everybody tell the stories what do they tell did anybody say man dude step to Oak like Oak. People don't realize how big. Oak don't have a basketball body. Oak got a football body. Oak strong. I'm talking about physically. I'm talking about weight room strong. I'm talking about on court strong. Oak is a strong, big ass man.
4:14Chad Johnson:When he come about that business, he ain't going to do a whole lot of damn talking.
4:19Shannon Sharpe:he ain't gonna do no he gonna ask you one time you got my money hey hey you either hey you either say yeah i got it or if you say kyle before you say the oh no he's slapping the fire for you i i've been i'm telling you i i know him like i said i've been knowing him 30 plus years he hey if you if you borrow money from him and you tell him you're gonna give it back at a certain date, have that man money. Or go borrow the money that you borrowed from him, borrowed from somebody else that you know can't whip you, and you can pay him when you want to. Because if you owe him money,
4:54Chad Johnson:he gonna knock my brother. Hey, listen, I've been in the gym, bro, when I done seen it go down myself, Uncle Ocho. Meaning, here in Atlanta, we should play at this athletic club over here in Buckhead. I ain't, you know, I ain't gonna necessarily call out no name. But when he walked in, it was like a loose pit bull. You hear me? And he ain't say nothing. We was miss hooping. in the midst of playing a game. Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, wop. Got his ass up out of there to call them folks on him. Yeah. I'm telling you, he's like that.
5:26Shannon Sharpe:When people say, oh, he just got, no. He done calmed down some. And you know, that's why I like, hey, he's like, man, let's go. Nah, let's go to the restaurant and get something to eat. We don't need to go to the club. Let's go to the restaurant. Hey, let's go to the restaurant and get something to eat. Yo, he walked in there and put hands on somebody? Yeah, yeah. That man walked into another team's practice and slapped somebody. Just because he was on the phone with a chick, and he came there and asking who you talking to. He drove in the middle of the night. That man drove 10 hours to get at him.
6:03Shannon Sharpe:Couldn't find him. Guess what? They happened to be on the schedule. They had shoot around. Walked to the gym like, what you say? Fire! Hold on, he slapped somebody at their own shoot-around? Absolutely.
6:18Chad Johnson:You know, like a shoot-around, Ocho, like if it's one team at shoot-around, like soon as we get finished, the other team will be kind of waiting right there. So they'll be walking on as we walking off. So we are running to each other. You know what I mean? It's easy to – it ain't nothing for you to touch somebody now. Right.
6:36Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Yes. First of all, he drove 10 hours. Couldn't find him. he said tell him I'm on my way don't worry about it don't worry about it he walked in the middle of their practice yeah and then told hey man slap the dude and told his partner well you should have helped him yes okay I take back what I said I don't want to
7:08Chad Johnson:Yeah, man.
7:10Shannon Sharpe:Like I said, I done hung with the dude at a lot of different places. I know know him.
7:16Chad Johnson:I only know one person who can calm him down, bro, and that was MJ. Yep. I got a chance to hang out with him and MJ one night here in Atlanta after we played this softball game and got into it with the damn bouncers, the security at the club. Ocho. Couldn't get it. Hey, he about to jump on that boy like a cheap suit. You hear me? Yeah, MJ had to come from back there and be like, hey, hey, hey, hey. If it wasn't for that, boy, it was going to go down. Hey, jump on him like a what, Joe? Like a damn cheap suit. He finna jump on his ass.
7:56Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey. I'm like, bro, let's go. Let's go. Hey, we let the club wasn't out up here before I can. He don't like to be touched. He don't like to be touched, and he don't like to be interrupted when he's talking to somebody because he said that's disrespectful. You see me talking to somebody. Me, I look. I don't, you know, we talking, especially if you don't know that person. He ain't to play with. He not to play with. So you see him like, hey, throw your hand up, Throw your hand up and keep it moving.
8:36Chad Johnson:I'm just telling you. But all in all, though, he really a good dude, though. No, he ain't no good dude.
8:44Shannon Sharpe:He a great dude. Hey, I could come home because he used to have here. Hey, oh, let me get your car. Hey, Jimbo, Sharp say he need my car. Have it at his house. You need something? Hey, you be somewhere? Oh, let me hold$20 ,000. Let me hold$30 ,000. Let me hold$50 ,000. no problem he's a really really good dude if he rock with you but don't cross him and if you tell him you're gonna give his money if you tell oh you can borrow a hundred thousand two hundred thousand if you give him a day say oh i'm gonna have your money at this date have that man money on that date if you don't have his money he gonna walk up to you he gonna say man you got my money and when you say no, that's all you're going to be going to be about.
9:33Shannon Sharpe:The O ain't coming out. It's going to be like, oh. It ain't going to be no no. It's going to be O.
9:38Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey. The best thing you can do is not to borrow no damn lump sum of money like that from nobody like O. Hell no. Nah.
9:48Shannon Sharpe:Hell no. Because it's the principle. It's the principle for him. Yep. That's how you stand on it. But like Joe said, he a good dude. He rock with you. He rock with you. He loyal. He really, really loyal. Look, if he rock with you and somebody talking about you, he ain't going to let it go down. He ain't going to let it go down. He said, nah, I rock with Sharp. I ain't trying to hear that. So, you want to talk about him? Take your ass over there. That's how he is. That's how he is. I like them old stories, man. I like that. Uh-oh. So, Steph Curry is planning on meeting with LeBron James to recruit him to the Warriors, and now Bleacher predicts LeBron James could finish his career with the Warriors on a two-year,$30.8 million deal.
10:39Shannon Sharpe:The hypothetical move would pair LeBron James, Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Kristoff Rzingis for one final title push. Joe, imagine LeBron and Steph actually ending up on a team, not an all-star team, not an Olympic team, but an actual NBA team. Do you think Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and Christoph Brzingis, is that enough to make them a title contender coming out of the West?
11:09Chad Johnson:I like that combination. I think Steph and LeBron will complement each other so well. or Draymond as well, Porzingis as well. But it depends on the type of – the others, the other guys that they're going to surround them guys with, Arke Ocho, because let's face it, those guys are up in age. And to think that they're just going to walk through an 82-game damn season, that ain't going to happen. That ain't going to happen. So you're going to have to have some great young talent, guys who know their role, stars in their role, and are willing to sacrifice. Because at the end of the day, you know it's going to revolve around Brian, Curry, and Draymond.
11:51Chad Johnson:And you got to have a lot of these young guys, bro, who will be willing to accept that and enjoy that role. So I would love to see it, though. I think it will change the landscape of basketball. I think they'll be great. If they can stay healthy, I think they definitely can make some noise.
12:08Shannon Sharpe:My thing is, like, who's going to play defense? Like you said, Joe, Steph Curry's not on the door. Jones is a defensive guy. LeBron is going to be 42 years of age, and he can't play defense like he once could. Kristoff Brzingis can't stay healthy. Jimmy Butler is coming off a knee injury. Draymond, hey, Draymond is Draymond. We know what Draymond can do. But like you said, okay, what are you going to feel around him? Because you're going to have to have three or four guys that can play defense.
12:33Chad Johnson:And perimeter guys.
12:35Shannon Sharpe:Yes. No, you don't need no bigs. You need perimeter guys. You need guards. You need guys that can guard wing players. Because guess what? in the West got wings. Somebody got to guard Ant-Man. Somebody got to guard Murray. Somebody got to guard Shea and J-Dub and all those guys. Somebody got to guard them. I don't know who, but I'm just saying somebody has to.
12:53Chad Johnson:If you're going to team all those guys up, you got to be willing to put the right pieces around them. But I mean, I'm sure the basketball world would love to see those guys team up. Hell, I ain't going to lie. I know I would. I think it'll be must-watch TV. The way Steph shoots the ball, the way Bronk can score and facilitate and make guys around him better. I think Draymond would be great in the roles that he'll play. He'll be that emotional leader, that intimidator. He'll be that point forward who gets guys involved. You already know Draymond knows his role. They're going to play winning basketball.
13:29Chad Johnson:Because they all going to win another title. If they all get another title, they all will be at five. So I'm sure they'll be ring-chasing for sure. Yeah, but you've got to think about some of the teams in the West, you know, and LeBron and Steph and Draymond, as great as they are, the team that they had, you know, the 73-9 season, having KD, having Klay, I think it's a little bit different. And thinking that they even have a chance to come out the West with them young boys, them young bulls, you know, out there right now. I mean, the chances are slim. Great, great team, you know, collectively, you know, all together.

14:06You would think experience and better in presence would kind of give them the edge. But they're not going to be able to run up and down with them young boys, man, coming out the West.
14:13Chad Johnson:That's why it's going to depend on who they put around them, bro. You know, you got to have some young talent, you know, who can play. And, you know, it's kind of hard because, I don't know, man, it's hard playing with some of these great players. It's going to be hard playing with LeBron. Yeah, for sure. Hell, it's hard playing with Steph Curry. You know, when you ain't never been in those situations playing with that amount of talent. You know what I'm saying? understanding that, hell, if you're a young dude, to some degree, you're going to have to sacrifice your damn game.
14:45Shannon Sharpe:I agree. Joe Ocho, the ketchup and mustard look inspired by the uniforms of the Rockets wore during the 94-95 championship seasons, are returning. The team unveiled the new three-jersey set and revamped logos Thursday that reintroduced yellow into the franchise palette. Take a look at the video.
15:10Chad Johnson:damn so hard bro
15:18that's when Akeem was playing huh yeah
15:26that's cool I like it I like it I like it
15:38Oh, okay. I like the black. Oh, look, the yellow jump man.
15:44Chad Johnson:Jump man gonna take over the lead soon.
15:48Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, it's gonna be the official. It's gonna be the official logo. Joe, if you could bring back any uniform, what you bringing back?
15:56Chad Johnson:Any uniform?
15:58Shannon Sharpe:Man, I ain't gonna lie to y 'all, bro. I love the vintage, the vintage retro look,
16:04Chad Johnson:especially when they bring it back and they modernize it to where it fits in, you know, with this new age concept. But that Toronto Raptors, I think it's probably. Oh, with the Raptor, with the Raptor athlete on the front of the jersey? Oh, them hard. Oh, like Vince Carter, them more. Yeah, I got a T-Mac. I got a T-Mac number one jersey. Oh, man. Them probably about the hardest retros to me, bro. Them like some of the hardest retros. Now, there's some tough ones out here, but them one of the hardest ones.
16:41Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I like them. I like the Toronto. I like the old 76ers with the bell. Yeah, I like the 76ers. Who else had a hard job?
16:50Chad Johnson:I like Minnesota Vintage. Them all-black ones they used to have. When KG and them used to wear. Yeah. Those hard. Six has got a bunch of vintage retro looks. Liberty Bell, they got all of them. Oh, man, them so hard. It's a few out here.
17:11Shannon Sharpe:Mm-hmm. Oh, Joe. New Patriots, Wired. Number one hits, millions of records sold, awards, sold-out tours. You think the Jonas Brothers are satisfied? Nope. It's podcast time. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Hey Jonas is available now, and their first guest is a big one, Paul Rudd. You know, Steve Carell is a great singer. Can you tell you not to audition at The Office or something? I told him. Whoa. We were filming Anchorman. Clearly, I was the idiot. Thank God he didn't listen to me, right? Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
17:48What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luka and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luka and Austin Reed, I gotta manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's gonna be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randle.
18:22And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history, too.
18:31Chad Johnson:Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers while he got the ball. Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Oh, yeah. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
18:55I love the sounds. The buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place. Soccer. Futbol. It's home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed? I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Echavarri, and this is American Futbol. a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull.
19:39It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, Listen to American Football as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
20:03Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, There's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War.
20:20Chad Johnson:To get to school, I had to go down Robert E. Lee Boulevard. To get to the grocery store, I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're a historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akilah Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky Statehouse that's actually worth the wall space. We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that?
20:50Shannon Sharpe:They are just fueling a fire that is really catching. You'll see what I mean. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Sabora Football, the sweet and the spicy on and off the field. I'm Daniela Duran, and this is where we get to know the people behind the game like never before. the pressure, the fame, and everything that happens when the cameras turn off.
21:52And many more. Listen to Sabora Football on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
22:05Shannon Sharpe:Receiver AJ Brown admitted to leaking stories about the Eagles to the media to motivate the team. It was done purposely to give us a push. It gives us everything. It gives everything's legs to push everyone to be better. I feel like it was okay to do. Hey, Eagles fans, how y 'all feel about that? Because y 'all feel everybody made stuff up. How y 'all feel about that, Eagles fans? that the guy that was there that was linking the story that people reporting on the stories how y 'all feel oh let me guess y 'all knew aj was doing this because oh you know what they do yeah that's what they do anytime somebody give a story oh we knew that hey hold on i need hey put a chat okay let me put a chat up right quick because i want to see how many eagles fans here that knew aj brown was leaving stories listen you never damn hold on hold on just a second joe just a second y 'all ain't know that y 'all do everything y 'all do the man was getting traded in October when you told me in Ocho we crazy we just trying to start stuff y 'all just trying to get clicks and like hello hey Eagle fans and I know y 'all on here fly Eagles fly ain't nobody saying nothing no no no no no he ain't don't do all that now don't do all that now don't do all that now I want to know who knew that.
23:27Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I hate the Eagles. Whatever you want to say. I want to know y 'all knew that because every time Ocho and I say something, Joe, they do. Hey, we can tell too. We know that he was going to run the goal route on the left side. We know he running the over route when he lined up in the slot. Y 'all knew everything that Ocho and I was saying. Didn't ever play the game and don't know a screen pass from a screenplay porch. But they knew. They knew. So damn, ain't nobody knew this.
23:57I'm more concerned exactly what what stories did he actually leak that he felt was going to help the team and push them to do better.
24:05Shannon Sharpe:The male fact that is a story that he admitted to doing. It don't matter. He could have said, you know what? We ain't got no pre-wrap. We have no Gatorade practice. Yeah. The male fact, the man admitted it. Yeah. Did it work? I don't know, Joe Ocho. I think I would have kept that one to myself. Some things better left unsaid. That's just me. Everybody do handle things differently, Joe. Everybody handle stuff differently, Ocho. Hey, hold on. What if, for better context, what if the stories that he did leave, what if it was during the Super Bowl winning season? I don't know where it was. I don't think, they didn't need no motivation, Ocho.
24:45Shannon Sharpe:You got to realize how many games they won. I think last year. Hey, them boys were cutting, boy.
24:52Chad Johnson:Hey. Hey. For me, after I'm done with an ex, bro, I ain't bringing her back up. I ain't talking about her. Thank you.
25:01Shannon Sharpe:It ain't got nothing to say. Hey, man, you today? Yeah. Oh, you're great. I ain't got nothing negative to say. That's just me. That's just me. Hey, everybody don't operate like that, Joe. Everybody don't operate like that, old Joe. I ain't got nothing to say negative about my exes. Hey, it didn't work for us. She might be perfect for you. Hello. Hello. So ain't no sense in me salting her up. Ain't no sense in me saying whatever she did, she did. He's happy. I'm happy. Bro, great. Absolutely. I'm like you, Joe. What you want me to say? What was she like? I don't know. I mean, you dating her, you a fighter.
25:42Shannon Sharpe:You tell me in a couple years.
25:45Chad Johnson:You tell me. You tell me.
25:47Shannon Sharpe:You tell me. You tell me. You tell me like I did. Hey. Exactly.
25:50Chad Johnson:Because ain't nobody tell me nothing. In a couple of years, you're going to get that call. Man, why you ain't tell me? Yeah. Hey. I had to learn the hard way. You're going to learn the hard way too.
25:59Shannon Sharpe:Hello. I think you're going to find out sooner or later. Hey. Should the new Patriots teammates be concerned here or something like this that. Nah. We got another miles turn on our hands.
26:12Chad Johnson:Oh, okay. Okay. He's going to be all right. He's going to go over there and cut a fool, though. I heard Boutte asked for a trade, huh?
26:21Shannon Sharpe:Hey, man, they ain't got no balls coming. You got AJ making that money. You got Romeo Dobbs. What you got, Romeo? Listen, I want to compete. I ain't going to worry about that. I don't care who you got. You ain't competing. AJ making 30-plus and Dobbs making 27-plus. Who you competing with? You competing for third. Okay, think about this. Let's say you don't want to play with the Patriots, no matter what, right? They got a one and a two. Where you going? That don't already have a one and a two. Nah, think about that. There are 31 other teams.
26:52Chad Johnson:Well, they might not have those one and twos. Hey, man. Better make the most of that damn situation over there. The grass ain't always green on the other side, bro. Who you telling? I'm looking at the landscape of the NFL right now. Every team has a one and two. Where you going to go to the Dolphins? That's the only place I can think we can go in there and his presence will be felt right away. And be miserable. That too, because they're in a three-year rebuilding state. Hell no.
27:20Shannon Sharpe:Look, I'm going to do it like this. I've never... Now, AJ did what he did. I'm making a joke of it. I don't condone what AJ did. Because I don't want people to say, well, Nightcap, Ocho, and Joe, and Unk was condoning. I don't condone that. I'm not giving out any information about my team. Whatever transpired, be it a team, be it somebody blowing a play, somebody overslept, somebody got fired, somebody got injured, I ain't telling you ish. Don't ask me. Thanks. So I don't want people – because, you know, hey, it's something about nightcap, Ocho and Joe. We get clipped more than anybody. Yeah, that's right.
28:00Shannon Sharpe:And without even listening to the context, because people just keep a snippet, and then people comment, did you hear what I said? Did you hear what Ocho said? Did you hear what Joe said? Or are you just commenting based on the comment that was in front of your comment? Yeah. I don't agree. I don't agree with, I didn't agree with his behavior. All I said and all I've ever said, Ocho, I just wish he'd have kept that public. You want to have a discussion with the head coach? Look, I need more balls. I need to be involved earlier. I need you guys to get me the ball up earlier. Get me the ball earlier.
28:39Shannon Sharpe:You got me late. That's all I've ever said. Have a conversation with Petula behind closed doors. Have a conversation with Hurts behind closed doors. I never want to show a teammate up, especially the quarterback. Quarterbacks have the biggest egos. They just do the best job of hiding it. They have the most fragile egos. They just do the best job of hiding it. I've been around too many of them and I ain't telling what somebody told me, I'm telling what I know most of them have been what? Coddled. They play that position, Ocho in high school, you get coddled you play in college, you get coddled you get to the NFL and all of a sudden you become really, really good, hey, there's a reason why he wears a different jersey, he's the only one that wears a different jersey than everybody else you can't touch him you can't I don't agree with what I don't care what type of motivation or what you think he was doing.
29:38Shannon Sharpe:I don't agree with that. I don't. I think there's other ways that you could motivate your team without leaking stuff. That's just me. That's just me. Each is all. Everybody doesn't do things like Shannon. Shannon doesn't do things like everybody else, but I I'm just old school like that old Joe. I just think there's, I just think there's a better, there was a better way to try to get the message to try to get his team to play at another level. I just think it's okay. When it comes to that message too, Uncle Joe, you have to think he got that C on his chest too. He got that C on his chest. So there's really no need for him to be able to leak anything to the media being that you're the captain.
30:12They're going to listen to you first. They're going to listen to you first.
30:18Shannon Sharpe:Unless, and that's the problem that you have. See, Ocho and Joe, when you get that C on your chest, you got to behave in a matter that's different. All that pouting and moping and complaining, Ocho, you can't do that. because you want people to follow you. Your best players, you want people to follow. That's why, and you know they're watching. That's why you come on time. That's why you're at meetings on time. That's why you practice a certain way. That's why you do film study. That's why you try. You're not going to be perfect. So I don't want people to think that I've ever said that I was perfect.
30:53Shannon Sharpe:I tried to be always on time. I tried to play. I practiced hard. I played hard. and when I made mistakes, I made mistakes going 100 miles an hour. But I know people are watching me. I want people to say, man, I watched I Sharp do certain things, man. That's got to play. Absolutely. Watch the guy come in as a seventh-round draft pick, playing special teams mainly and become an all-decade player, become a multiple-time Pro Bowl player, become a multiple-time all-pro player, and eventually wound up in the football heaven. Hall of Fame. I love when people are like, man, hey, give them advice. Try to help them out there, bro.
31:37Shannon Sharpe:If I were you, I would do it like this. You're going to do it your own way, but I'm just saying, I just think there's a better way that you could do certain things. Okay, Sharp, I take that as an advice. I'm surprised. Ocho, I ain't going to lie, man. I ain't never heard anything like this, Ocho. I'm not saying that it hadn't happened before, Joe. Because it had. Because I believe it has. But I don't think anybody would have ever admitted to that. Ocho! I mean, listen, I'm with you when you're right. Hold on. How you going? This is a classic example. You get with a new girl. Man, I've been cheating on the old one the whole time.
32:13Shannon Sharpe:The whole time. But I've been going, hey, I've been going. What? Yeah. I ain't telling that.
32:20Chad Johnson:Right.
32:20Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Hey, Chad, y 'all do what y 'all want to do with that, hey.
32:25Chad Johnson:Hey, AJ's sick of it, bro. But dead serious, though. I wouldn't be talking about the X team, bro. Move on. You got a fresh start. Just be great in that fresh start. Everybody happy.
32:44Shannon Sharpe:Sports Illustrated released their best offensive triplets for 2026. quarter quarterback, one running back, one wide receiver, one tight end. The Chargers are in 10 spot. They got Justin Herbert, Omarion Hampton, Ladd McConkie. So you get a wide receiver or tight end. It can be one or the other. It cannot be both. In the 8 spot, you got Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Devontae Smith. The 49ers, you got Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle. The Chiefs are in the seventh spot because you have Travis Kelsey, Patrick Mahomes, Kenneth Walker III. The Bengals are in the sixth spot. Joe Burrow, Chase Brown, Jamar Chase.
33:29Shannon Sharpe:The Cowboys in the fifth spot. Dak Prescott, Javante Williams, CeeDee Lamb. The Bills are in the fourth spot. Josh Allen, James Cook, DJ Moore. The Ravens are in the three spot. L Jack, D Henry, Zay Flowers. The Rams, excuse me, the Lions are in the two spot. They got Jerry Goff. Somebody spelled Goff wrong, but that's never here or there. Jameer Gibbs, Amin Ra, St. Brown. And the Rams are in the one spot. Matthew Stafford, Kyron Williams, Pukin Akua. Okay. Joe Ocho you hate it love it let the chat know what did they get right what did they get wrong the players that haven't played together belong a little higher Dak and CD and Javante they should be a little higher because they got Kenneth Walker they got Kenneth Walker it's two of them I can't remember exactly Patrick Holmes are in the seventh spot so you got Patrick Mahomes, Kenneth Walker, and Travis Kelsey.
34:43Shannon Sharpe:They're number seven. The fifth are Cowboys with Dak Prescott, Javante Williams, C.D. Lamb. Who is four? Josh Allen, James Cook, D.J. Moore. D.J. Moore hadn't even played there yet. Nope. So I'd rather... But I guess they're saying James Cook is substantially an upgrade over Javante Williams, and they got Dak Prescott as better than Dak Prescott. How many yards is it Cook had?
35:09Chad Johnson:Oh, he bought that last year. Cook had – he led the league in rushing. I think he had 6 '9". Oh, did he? Okay. I know Javante had about 1 ,200 yards. He a 1 ,000-yard rushing.
35:19Shannon Sharpe:And then you got Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers. And then you had Jerry Goff, Jameer Gibbs, Almond Ross St. Brown. And then you got Matthew Stafford, Kyron Williams. I can't argue with number one. I can't argue with number two. Number two. I can't argue with it. What about Seattle?
35:38Chad Johnson:They gave up their run game.
35:39Shannon Sharpe:You could just put any running back in there with JSC and what you call him? He's a running back.
35:45Chad Johnson:They gave up.
35:47Shannon Sharpe:Anybody, me. Nah, nah, nah. He's coming off an injury. What's his name? How do you say his last name? I don't want to butcher it. Charbonneau. He's coming off an injury.
35:56Chad Johnson:And how the hell they let him go? He was an MVP. They weren't going to pay him that kind of money. They weren't going to pay him what he wanted.
36:04Shannon Sharpe:Because you got to realize, I'm not playing a guy that kind of money to split the carries.
36:07Chad Johnson:but damn baby one for him they probably don't even win the damn Super Bowl hey especially at the running back position unless you unless you Christian McCaffrey you know I can replace you with somebody else the running back done diminished for real I remember that used to be high back
36:28Shannon Sharpe:it's making a comeback it's making a comeback though Joe there was a stretch there they ain't want to pay a running back you gotta be special though now but it's making a comeback for those that are actually special. Hold on.
36:43Chad Johnson:So y 'all think the Jeremiah Love kid's special? Oh, yeah.
36:48Shannon Sharpe:He got drafted. In that situation, that contract guaranteed, and so he got drafted third overall. It is what it is. He's special, though. He's special. It's just hard for me to see a guy just coming into the league that's never carried in NFL football, that's never thrown, never caught one, to make more than guys that's been doing this for a period of time. That's just me. Hey, it happens all the time because there are guys that come in into a new job and make more money as a new person on the job than somebody that's been there 10, 15, 20 years. So it is what it is. It is what it is. Timing, timing.
37:27It's all about time.
37:28Shannon Sharpe:It is, Ocho. It is.
37:36Shannon Sharpe:following a decision by an independent interschelastic uh interschelastic athletic appeals board administered by the north carolina department of public instruction the north carolina high school athletic association board of directors convened in a special meeting on tuesday to consider the matter involving the conclusion of the 2026 8a men's track and field championship. The appeals board vacated the disqualification by the four by 400 relay. After review and discussion, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Board of Directors voted to declare Mallard Creek School and C.E. Jordan as co-champions of the 2026 8A Men's Track and Field State Championship.
38:19Shannon Sharpe:The board also voted to recognize Mallard Creek high school and I guess it's saying how high school as co-champions in the 4x4 meter relay I agree with everything until the COVID I beat you I don't like the COVID I beat you now we got the same number of points we co-champions but I beat you in a race so in other words I don't want to take you you guys celebrated you guys were the champions so I don't want to take that away so I'm going to make y 'all co-champions other than that
38:56Chad Johnson:I don't like it
39:01yeah I don't like it
39:05Shannon Sharpe:but I'm not surprised because I almost got us disqualified doing the exact same but I put the baton in the guy's face I wasn't in front of him I pulled up beside him Ocho but it was my cousin so I didn't think that counted
39:21Shannon Sharpe:it was my cousin so i didn't think that counted man my coach that's the maddest of my coaching only two times coach hall had ever been upsetting me i did something in practice um i was i did something in practice football we was playing i was live back coach oh and um and i i i made a tackle and i jumped up and said yeah graveyard baby this graveyard and he's like yeah you tackle like that in practice I wish you tackle like that in the game man something went all the way through me I went in the cahoddle I called 53 red dog I said I'm finna knock somebody out
39:5953 red dog oh ready break boy they pull
40:07Shannon Sharpe:you caught the guard? I caught the running man Coach, y 'all say, sucker, you'll kill somebody if you hit them like that. Go to the sideline. I told him, I said, the next person I hit, y 'all gonna come get him. Go back and ask. It was 19. Ask him. Go back and ask Gimbley High School when I hit him. I ain't gonna call his name. I don't want to embarrass him. He probably got a white kid. Probably got a grand cred now. But he came and got him. You put that hat on him, man. Did I? Did I? Hey, I was like Reggie in a clump. Should I get it? Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
40:51What's the news, Nick? Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts. We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with the name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
41:27We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, Hey Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
41:51I love the sounds. The buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the plays. Soccer. Football. It's home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breathe? I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Echavarri, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull.
42:36It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like hearing that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
42:59Shannon Sharpe:What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luka and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luka and Austin Reed, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randle.
43:33And then he has to give us everything he gives us on a night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
43:42Chad Johnson:Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running on the court, licking his fingers while he got the ball. After you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you gonna get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War.
44:20Shannon Sharpe:To get to school, I had to go down Robert E.
44:22Chad Johnson:Lee Boulevard.
44:22Shannon Sharpe:Get to the grocery store, I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway.
44:50Chad Johnson:They are just fueling a fire that is really catching. You'll see what I mean. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
45:25What happens after death? How do you deal with cancellation? Cristiano or Messi? Do aliens exist? What is love? Real Madrid or Barça? From everyday and ordinary to the deep and extraordinary. This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine. This podcast is like a deep talk with your closest friends. Where vulnerability comes out. Conspiracy theories end up on the table and goals and lessons are shared. Everything in this life has a perfect order and everything is right. I'm going to get it. I'm going to finish it. It's good. We are here to connect. El Chicharito. I'm Javier El Chicharito Hernandez, and together with iHeartRadio, we're going to make the ordinary extraordinary.
46:02Stay close. Eres un caraco. Listen to Learning to be Human on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Get him!
46:13Shannon Sharpe:Should I get him? Hey, yo, you two love to play linebacker, man. Man, look here. And then to my cousin, I got a baton, Ocho Joe, 4 by 8. It was third leg, four by four. He probably had me about 15 meters. Who came and got him? I got that baton to four by four. I said, cuz, I'm coming. I just paced it. I just paced it at 300. No, probably back at the two. I was about five yards behind him. I passed. I said, nah, I don't want to spend no extra energy. We came out the curb. I said, I told you I'm the best sharp.
46:57Shannon Sharpe:Man, Coach Hall came out of that thing. Sucker, don't you ever do that. You'll get us disqualified.
47:08Shannon Sharpe:That's the only two times Coach Hall has ever raised this voice in me. Only two times. They're the rules in track, strict boy. Damn. Yeah, you can't do that. But I was dead as wrong. but that was my, that was my, his granddaddy, my granddaddy were brothers. So he, he, Monty and Everett, they went to Reesville. Me and my brother obviously went to Glenville. Now, once we graduated, I think like a couple of years after we graduated, they merged the two schools. Had they done that when my brother and I was in school, ain't no telling how many state championships we'd have in football. Not basketball, cause we didn't have really big, really tall guys, but football and track.
47:51Shannon Sharpe:I mean, you probably wouldn't be on there wouldn't be no freshmen on the relay teams. You'd probably have to wait until you're a junior or a senior to be on the relay teams. At least. At least. Oh, we had some guys that could run, but it was split up. And football? Yeah, you ain't starting. Ain't no freshmen starting.
48:14Chad Johnson:Ain't nothing like going on them track meets, boy.
48:17Shannon Sharpe:Ain't nothing like... My brother probably would have been the only freshman that would have started because he started as a freshman at quarterback. But my brother ran like 10, 500 meters. And they ran the veer. So he got the edge. It was over. Hey, speaking of track, I got a question. We've been looking at all these track athletes in high school. You see them fast times, huh? They're running 9-8. And I'm confused. Noah Lyles ran a 9-8 today. So you trying to tell me these high schoolers, would be able to keep up Noah Lyons, even though he doesn't catch up to the field until them last 30 meters, something ain't right.
48:55Shannon Sharpe:Well, what's happening, Ocho, is that some of these times a win aided, they're getting a plus three, plus four, plus five mile an hour win. The only allowable, you only allow plus two. So anything over plus two, Noah Lyons ran that with, I think he had an allowable win. But yeah, these times are getting fast. I mean, Ocho, you just look at the times that, I mean, the tracks, the spikes that they're using, you just saw Sawi just run a sub. They had two guys go sub two hours in a marathon. 26.2 miles. Two guys. And another guy run 210, 215. Them boys ain't running
49:42Chad Johnson:with that leather, man. Them boys got carbon fiber in their shoes. Yes! And they got
49:47Shannon Sharpe:the super fast Mondo tracks now, Ocho. I mean, with the tracks that they got now and the technology that they got now, Usain Bolton is probably going to go 9-4.
50:00Chad Johnson:That's moving. Yeah. Yeah.
50:07Shannon Sharpe:I mean, I just saw a guy from South Africa just run a 46-66 split. 46-60 split. he ran by Lesile Tobogo from Botswana and Tobogo he ran 43-03 when he and Rob Benjamin went head to head at the Paris Olympics you remember that that dude went by Tobogo like he was standing still and Tobogo is a low 44 maybe even a 43 in the open four and he went by him like he was standing still these guys different now Ocho these guys I mean these kids run Ocho this girl you see this 14 year old girl ran 22 2270 22 damn girls running 11.5 at 13 14 years old
51:04Shannon Sharpe:alright it's time to play a fade presented by PrizePix
51:16Grab your Twix Here we go
51:21Shannon Sharpe:Dylan Harper will have it More or less than five rebounds More or less
51:27Chad Johnson:I'm saying I'm saying more Man that little joke will be doing Everything bro The one thing we talked about this last night
51:38Shannon Sharpe:Man what Vassell Harper Castle, they rebound. They do. They gain rebound. You're absolutely right. I'm going more also. Jalen Brunson, more or less than 1.5, made 3.5. I ain't going to lie to y 'all.
51:56Chad Johnson:It's hard to bet against Jalen Brunson. No, I ain't going to lie. Now you, okay. Ain't nobody need you to chime in here. The boy been proving me wrong on all postings. I ain't going to lie. I'll probably go more. I think he can make two.
52:11Shannon Sharpe:Yep. I'm going with you. Julian Champagny, he will have more than two and a half made three baskets, more or less than two and a half.
52:20Chad Johnson:I'm saying more. Champagny played great against the Knicks. I don't know if y 'all know, but during the season this year, he had a game where he had like 10, 11 threes against the Knicks. And he been shooting the let off that thing. I'm going to say more.
52:35Shannon Sharpe:I agree. Landry Shamit will have at least seven and a half points, more or less. This is where it gets tricky. Well, he had 16 the first game, Joe.
52:47Chad Johnson:It gets tricky, though, old Joe.
52:50Shannon Sharpe:I think he'll have that, Joe. Man, that Joker, he was 12 or 13 coming into the three-point, and I think he made what? He made three or five threes or three or six threes yesterday. So that man shooting 15, 15 or 21 from this, Joe. I know he's shooting.
53:07Chad Johnson:So if I'm saying Antonio, I got to eliminate some of these guys around Brunson and Cat. I can't let Shemmy beat me. That's what I'm thinking. So I know they're going to try to cut his water off. That's why I say it's tricky. What y 'all thinking, man? Y 'all, we going more? I'm going more. I think you're going to have at least eight. All right, man. I'm going to be damn sure counting because I can't wait to get on here tomorrow. You know what I mean?

53:54Shannon Sharpe:It's time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A.
54:06Shannon Sharpe:now time here it is jujitsu iso just wanted to say congratulations arkansas born and raised yes sir yeah iso what are some of the tips you uh you have for losing visceral belly fat i'm 6 '1 257 and I'm very, very athletic. I'm in the gym five days a week. Please help me.
54:29Chad Johnson:Hey, you got to do faster cardio, bro. Faster cardio, meaning when you get your ass up in the morning, you need to do cardio first before you eat, anything, drink it, have your glass of water or a bottle of water, get right to it. Whether you're walking on a treadmill, whether you're bicycling, whether you're running, whether you're doing high yoga, I don't care what it is you do, but you need to do that on an empty stomach. Trust and believe. I promise you that works.
54:59Shannon Sharpe:Bodies are made in the kitchen, not the gym.
55:03Chad Johnson:It's hard to out-exercise a bad diet. It is, bro. You can't. Hell, you can't out-exercise a bad diet. You can't, bro. It's hard to out-exercise a bad diet. So look, look, look. Once you hit that gym, get that work in, you go to eat.
55:17Shannon Sharpe:You 150 to begin with. You hear this man talk about he 6 '1", 257. you would never be 257 they can inject you you can get a BBL and all that other stuff you ain't gonna be no 257 Dr. Frankie L. Bellamy when ISO win the bet which jersey you rocking DAC or CD you can go even old school and get Emmett to wear which one you want
55:44Chad Johnson:I'm gonna have them for you which one you want to wear you want Roger Stahl back you want damn You want you want Emmitt Smith? You want Prime? What you want? You might want to tell him you ain't going to lose. Yeah.
56:04Shannon Sharpe:I ain't going to lose. Hey, Joe, you know what? Joe, look at this. I know you ain't never seen one of these. This is all Madden. Once upon a time, this was as important as an all-pro because if John Madden you play, you won't get this. You going to ask any guy that got this this is a you remember Jerry Ball? Jerry Ball played with the Detroit Lions. He had a company called Icebox. And he made these. So I wouldn't have put up one of this. If you don't like this one, this is another one.
56:37Chad Johnson:I like that. I like that. What you mean you wouldn't have put up? Hold on. Hold on.
56:45Shannon Sharpe:Or maybe you like the Letterman jacket.
56:47Chad Johnson:No, I like the other one. I like that leather, that black one.
56:52Shannon Sharpe:or this recently got put into the East West Shrine Hall of Fame. This is the action. I like that one.
56:59Chad Johnson:I like that, too. I like that, too. What?
57:02Shannon Sharpe:And, you know, I know you like the number two.
57:03Chad Johnson:I had to come over there and go shopping. What? So I'm just saying, you know, like I said,
57:10Shannon Sharpe:I don't know if you ever played in front of John Madden, but Madden used to have to see you play in order to get that. And they used to get you these trophies. Man, that trophy was so damn heavy. My brother got – my brother was all – John Mann loved my brother. One of the few guys that had his sleeves up in Green Bay. She could win it anytime. And I remember the first time I made it. I think it was 94, and then I made it in 96, 97, 98, and then I went to the Ravens. I made it in 2000. So I was a five-time all-man. But it was as important. It was more important than the Pro Bowl. You would much rather make All-Man than make Pro Bowl.
57:52Shannon Sharpe:Much, much rather make John Mann team because John Mann was the end-all. When John Mann didn't pass him wrong, Lord, whoo-hoo-hoo. First of all, you the game of the week. You know the game of the week. And he come. That Shannon Sharp could play in any era. Oh, man. What?
58:19Chad Johnson:Hey, hey. It's kind of like Dick Vitale talking about you when you were in college, ain't it, man? Yes.
58:26Shannon Sharpe:Yes.
58:27Chad Johnson:Yeah.
58:30Shannon Sharpe:So I'm just saying, Joe, whatever you want. I mean, I got the Kobe's. I got the steps. I got the jackets. I got sweatshirts. Whatever you want.
58:37Chad Johnson:We're going to take our time. It's a long season. We got a long season ahead of us, OK?
58:43Shannon Sharpe:Never going to get it.
58:44Chad Johnson:Never going to get it.
58:45Shannon Sharpe:Never going to get it. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, you better go to Ocho. Yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no.
58:52Chad Johnson:What's going to happen is I'm going to collect a little bit from both of y 'all. From both of y 'all. I'm not going to lose. I ain't really worried about that.
58:59Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, all right. I ain't easy, Ocho. Okay. Fox should take a Billups-type role. Fox has proven to be clutch in the fourth quarter during his career. He just needs to manage the game and be the closer.
59:13Chad Johnson:I agree, because he going to be the type of money he's going to be making the next some odd year, he's going to be there. They're going to have to figure that out. They're going to have to figure that out.
59:26Shannon Sharpe:I got to say, it's going to be funny to watch Wemby, but man, I'm excited to see this dude in the next Olympics. Also, Knicks and Six grab you a Twix. Man, come on. Wemby going to try to... Man, do you know where they... Think about it. The U.S. team was in Paris on trench soil and took the gold, you don't think France would like nothing more on American soil in 28 than to take that gold back? Oh, Joe? Joe? And we've won the gold every year since we won an 8, 12, 16, 20, and 21, 24. So we got five straight. They want that.
1:00:08Chad Johnson:What you talking about?
1:00:09Shannon Sharpe:They want that.
1:00:16Shannon Sharpe:please tell me you saw Ocho nightcap sign on Waffle House.
1:00:23Shannon Sharpe:Will we ever get a segment where we meet the team as Jordan, et cetera, for Q and a, uh, I mean, you probably see Jordan. Uh, you probably seen Jordan. Y 'all probably seen. I didn't know what you was looking at, but as do not like the camera, as has always wanted to be behind the camera. So, So probably not. Jordan, you guys have seen Jordan. You see Jordan all the time because everybody that sees me in the airport, you've never seen me probably.
1:00:57Shannon Sharpe:90 % of the time Jordan's going to be with me because we're going somewhere to take you. And even when I come to Atlanta, that's the only thing because sometimes I come a day earlier and he comes a day later. But like when I'm going to L.A. or I'm going, nah, you're going to see Jordan. Big three, here's a scenario Y 'all on vacay in the Maldives With y 'all ladies on a day party boat Boat power goes out One mile from shore Coast Guard is six hours away What's y 'all next move? See my black ass right there We're only a mile out I'm hitting that water
1:01:31Chad Johnson:What you mean you're hitting the water to do what? To backstroke, slow stroke Back to shore, a mile out A mile out Boy, they gonna find you floating with the fishes homeboy. You ain't gonna make it. We in the Maldives. Ain't nothing out there. Man, you ain't got that type of stamina, bro. Joe, ain't no current. Ain't nothing moving. The water's just still. That's a mile, Ocho. A mile of swimming.
1:01:56Shannon Sharpe:Joe, you don't got to swim. I don't think he realized how far a mile. I'm sitting right there to the Coast Guard. Listen, you can sit there for six hours. I ain't got nothing to do. Hell, I've been on the boat probably longer than that. Joe, I'm hitting that water, Joe. Hey, hey.
1:02:10Chad Johnson:I don't see that, Ojo. Yeah, if I'm Michael Phelps, I might think about it. I'm not. You talk about swimming. I ain't talking about swimming, man. You get in there and just slow stroke that thing.
1:02:21Shannon Sharpe:Oh, man, please. The last thing you want to do, getting tired on land is one thing. Getting tired in the water is something entirely different. Because your black ass can't stand up. What do you mean?
1:02:33Chad Johnson:Got to be relaxed. You going to lead Cambodia on the boat? Relax. She know how to swim.
1:02:40Shannon Sharpe:Hey, look here. I know Cambodia might be surrounded by water, but she ain't swimming no mile. It was nice and calm. Nah, I'm good. I'm away to the Coast Guard. I ain't got no way to. Hey, Joe, you been out into the Maldives?
1:02:54Chad Johnson:Nah, I ain't been out there. Well, you know you're in the middle of nowhere, huh? Yeah. Yes. I had to stay out there, man. I was six days. I stayed at the underwater villa. Yeah. Yeah. The villa, obviously I forgot the name of it, but you go to your room and you're surrounded by the water. So you're sleeping and the fish is swimming around and all that. Yeah. But listen, it was a great time.
1:03:20Shannon Sharpe:And then you know the fish, you're ready to tell the homeboys, hey, that old hut number three, they be getting prison all the time. The fish be telling your business.
1:03:27Chad Johnson:Hey, I'm told, is it mosquitoes out there? Nah, I ain't want none of that, Joe. Yeah? I just know it's far. You land out there and you got to take a seaplane just to get to the bungalows. How far is that? That's about another 30-40 minute drive. I mean, plane ride. And I know to get to the Maldives, that's far. What?
1:03:51Shannon Sharpe:Hell yeah. About 16 hours. And I ain't doing it no more. Hey, you know, when I get over there, I'll put down a mean demonstration. Can I go over there? A mean one. Boy, mama gonna get a mean one. Boy, that would love a long flight, bro. It was nice, though. The food, you know, the aesthetics, man. It was very nice. Very nice. Yeah.
1:04:22Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I'm just saying. I'm with you. A mean one. Like 16 hours? He's gonna be 16 hours. what you know what going on mama so just so yay just so we clear
1:04:39Shannon Sharpe:and new man welcome to the team i so i love seeing brothers climb to different heights can't nobody make me hate oh that's a good man thank you bro i appreciate that yes sir i am so excited about joe obviously ocho and i've been at this thing uh september be three years and you know hey we found somebody for the longest time it was just gonna be me and ocho but you know Joe coming on and just wanted to make sure y 'all like man get Joe you might want something but if somebody else don't want it it doesn't make any sense once he was bought in and like yeah I want to be a part of this it was a no brainer for us but we just had to make sure that's something that he wanted and we didn't want to force that we didn't want to make him say like man Joe you got to take this opportunity because if you don't we're going to hire somebody else no we weren't it was going to be Ocinocho Who's going to be Hunkin' Ocho for the next year, the next year after that?
1:05:33Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey. Because if Joe says, you know, hey, I kind of want to do the same role that I'm doing, you know, X, Y, and Z, but he's like, hey, I want to be a part of this. I want, hey, whatever you need.
1:05:44Chad Johnson:Let me know, yeah. So it was really a no-brainer. Hey, hey, hey, I appreciate it too. And I really want to thank the fans because they've been petitioning for this for so long, bro. You know what I mean? And I feel like if it wasn't for the fans, I don't know if this will happen. You know, after every episode that we've all taped and had, they kept petitioning for me to be back on. So very appreciative and grateful for you guys. So thank you.
1:06:11Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah. And I think once we did the nightcap outside, where we did all those events in New York, it was over after that. Yeah, I put down that mean demonstration on y 'all.
1:06:21Chad Johnson:It was a wrap. It was a wrap. You can see up there, Ocho, see what I'm saying? I'm just keeping it 100. We got to keep it real, fella. We got to keep it real. Hey, Joe, you got to chill, Joe. You got to chill.
1:06:34Shannon Sharpe:You got to chill. We playing 2K, my GM, this was Kobe era 2002. Man, I'm giving these boys that work with ISO and Al, go check out the chat. Will y 'all rather be blind or deaf? Ooh, give me deaf. Yeah, yeah. I got to be able to. I damn near can't see now.
1:07:00Chad Johnson:I got to be able to see.
1:07:02Shannon Sharpe:Sometimes when y 'all be talking, when they be talking foolish, I pretend I can't hear it now. Yeah, yeah.
1:07:06Chad Johnson:Say, hey, hey, hey, like my dad is saying, boy, I'm far from crazy, but I can play crazy. You know what I'm talking about? Yeah, yeah, I play crazy. Yeah, yeah.
1:07:15Shannon Sharpe:I know. And the thing, you know, also, if you didn't see and you've been blind all your life, it's cool. but if you had your sight and lose it, or if you've been deaf your whole life or had your hearing and lose it, I think that is different. Like if you've never had sight, you don't really know what it's like to see. So you just, everything, all the other senses have become heightened. Your sense of taste, your sense of smell, your hearing become the touch. Everything become heightened to compensate. sake. But man, I mean, you have to be hitting that Ray Charles. You have to feel them.
1:07:59Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah.
1:08:01Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah. Little tiny. Yeah.
1:08:10Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, getting Molly Watt for free. King Iso, please give the people what they want. Ocho, drooling on the camera. You already know it. Y 'all already know it.
1:08:19Chad Johnson:I'm going to do it. Joe going to be in trouble, because he don't understand. After being there with all these boys that do it at the highest level, you feel me, the past eight years, you're going to be like three or four steps behind Joe. You crazy here. I'm just telling you. I'm telling you ahead of time. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I'm going to use this jab. I'm going to stay on that phone. I'm going to use this jab. Ain't nothing you're going to be able to do. Hey, Joe. He ain't going to be able to get inside Joe. If he do, he going to have to take two, three of these, and they're going to put him down.
1:08:50Chad Johnson:That's what I'm trying to tell them. Hey, I don't even got to get inside. I could get him from distance and hit him when I want to. Man, please. You crazy. Every jab you throw, Joe, I'm going to parry that and come on through there, man. No, no. I promise you ain't. Ocho. Everything you throw, Joe, I'm going to parry that thing and come on and do what I need to do. Chad, I can't wait to put... You got to remember, when you throw that jab, you know you wide open, huh? No, no. Not mine. Not the way I throw mine. Hey, I don't care how you throw it. You got to let it go. and when you let it go, you wide open.
1:09:20Chad Johnson:Ocho, you ain't even going to be in striking range because my reach is so long, bro. You ain't going to be able to get close enough. I don't care nothing about your goddamn reach. Once I slip it, I'm going to hit you in your face, boy. Okay, when I hit you in your damn throat, make your teeth click. Hit you right there in the Adam's apple. We're going to see what's going to happen. I want you to keep talking now because you're just making it worse on yourself. Yeah, okay. We're going to see. We're going to see. You have to be the real. All right.
1:09:49Shannon Sharpe:De 'Aaron Fox is betting on his points under in the NBA finals. The DOJ catch Patel. Man, stop it.
1:09:56Chad Johnson:Y 'all got to chill.
1:10:01Shannon Sharpe:AJ Brown, Hassan Reddick, massage therapist, that boy tender, Jalen Hurts, has been vindicated.
1:10:13Shannon Sharpe:Who's a better duo? Sterling and Shannon, Ocho and Tio ISO and T-Mac Also if the Knicks win give Ocho the crowd ISO and wipe out the 5700 Hell nah It ain't 5900 It's 5900 plus interest I'm gonna tell you Listen I'm gonna tell you what the saying is now Bring your mama Wimanyama Obama Nixon 6 so you sticking with the nixon six you know i'm staying i'm staying i'm sticking with him like honey no this come on man hey joe you've been wrong all all series long man it's cool blah blah blah yeah y 'all talk about oh like he mad dog no good now we just tell him he just ain't some people you some people you can laugh and joke around with he just ain't one of the people.
1:11:11Shannon Sharpe:Especially if you don't know him. If you know him, you don't play with him like that.
1:11:15Chad Johnson:They're telling you the truth. Period. That Martin episode was so funny with Mad Dog.
1:11:23Boy, I was waiting on somebody big to come around. I'm like, what the hell?
1:11:35Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you see what Keyshawn did to Blue Face? It's definitely levels. Ooh, Keyshawn. Man, come on, Blueface. Man, what Blueface? I tried to tell Blueface. I said, man, nah, I been trying. I said, man, look here, man. Them bro's professional, man. Hey, hey, hey, hold on.
1:11:49Chad Johnson:Keyshawn out here whooping boards for fun, though.
1:11:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah?
1:11:53Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah. He whooping board. Hey, that young boy, there ain't nothing to be playing with. Nice. Him and Haney going to get in there? Yeah, I mean, I heard reports, but you know how that be. until the actual fighters say it's a go. And I saw him agree to it on Twitter. That's one thing, but it'd be so many there's so many players of people in the fight.
1:12:17Shannon Sharpe:I want to see him put the name on the contract.
1:12:19Chad Johnson:It'd be a hell of a fight, though, boy. Ooh-wee.
1:12:24Shannon Sharpe:Send Oak to get your 5 ,900 from Ocho. Yeah, I need to say Oak. Here. Give me 4 ,000. You going to send who? Yeah, hey, hey, hey. I would say Oak, give me 4 ,000
1:12:35Chad Johnson:at Ocho Obe6. You can have it. You ain't even got to send. Oh, hell, just send me. I'll do the same damn thing. No, you ain't, Joe. Yo, Ocho. Matter of fact, send Joe to come get it and watch what happens. Send Joe to come get it. Hey, I'm going to fold you in Oakley up like a lawn. And it says$6 ,900 when I come get it, partner, because it's your interest. Hey, Joe, get it in the blood. I will. Say that. Yeah, yeah, give him the blood. Hey, you better be willing to die by this 6-9. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, say less. Yeah, say less. Yeah. Okay.
1:13:15Shannon Sharpe:Cowboys making a playoff this season. New and improved defense, new energy. Go Cowboys. Let's go, baby. Nah, Mike, it ain't happening.
1:13:22Chad Johnson:Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Unc, Unc. See? You see, that wasn't me. That was Unc. You see what I'm talking about? Unc, don't be on here poor Miley talking about my Cowboys season ain't even started yet. Come on, man. Don't start acting like that.
1:13:33Shannon Sharpe:It already ended, though. It already ended. No, it ain't. Boy, it's looking good. You know how Ocho is. I said, you know how Ocho is. What do you mean? Ocho will be bad. Ocho will be. Joe, didn't I tell you? See, you didn't think I know basketball. But I know football. What did I tell you, Joe? No. If I was able to predict basketball the way I have college and the NBA, what you think will happen during football?
1:14:06Chad Johnson:Man, your ass just ain't got luck in hell. If I'm on a lucky streak, I'm finna go play the lotto tomorrow. Go play it. Tell you what, we will be famous.
1:14:22Shannon Sharpe:Did Ocho Shaiki come through and get that Funko yet? Ocho with 58 Savage getting his 5 ,900. Yeah.
1:14:35Shannon Sharpe:O'Shea Scheiss is coming through Got to AJ on some sucker-ish for that That's a punk move Can't say I disagree bro I can't say I disagree Honestly Ocho Some things the CIA with waterboarding Technique couldn't get out of it I'm just being real with you man I hope Maybe that was AI
1:15:02Chad Johnson:Hell no, you taking it to your grave?
1:15:06Shannon Sharpe:Hell. To do something like that, Joe? To do something like that, Ocho? You don't know you taking it to your grave.
1:15:17Shannon Sharpe:We finally got someone who can defend the big cowboys, the big blue cowboys from Uncle Ocho. Welcome, King Izzo. You can't defend the indefensible. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
1:15:32Chad Johnson:You got to chill, man. You can't do that, don't you? Can we get to season? But you're going to find out the hard way.
1:15:40Shannon Sharpe:You're going to find out the hard way. Okay. You're going to find out the hard way. It just gets tougher as time goes on. Yeah.
1:15:49Shannon Sharpe:I just don't like to be the bearer, man. Okay. I really don't. But sometimes you force me. That's what I got to do. I bet. Okay. All right. Those looking to purchase a bottle of Shea by LaPortier, head over to LaPortierCognac.com to purchase you a bottle. If it's currently unavailable in a state or city near you, there's a premium VSOP cognac. Drinks like an XO and we have it in two sizes. The 750 is the OG. The 375 is the Junior, but it's the same great quality, the same great taste, the same smoothness. Don't take my word for it. Compare it. Try it against other cognacs you've tried or are looking to try and you'll see. You'll immediately be able to taste the difference.
1:17:35Shannon Sharpe:Please, please drink responsibly and stay safe. I want to thank everybody that came out tonight and supported the event. We greatly, greatly appreciate it.
