2:52Shannon Sharpe:Now all of a sudden you wearing a green hoodie. Any other time you got on Los Angeles Clippers, you got on Clippers gear. Now all of a sudden you got a green hoodie on. Uh-uh, hell no, you're gonna change that and go quiet. Hey, I'm always representing, I'm always representing my cars downstairs, baby, you know? It's always red, white, and blue every day, baby. Boy, y 'all in trouble. That dog gonna have 25 people in there and they're gonna all be family members.
3:19Chad Johnson:Oh, man. Oh, man. Man, look at me. What up, Ocho? What's happening? What's happening? What's happening, baby? Hey, man, I missed you that big three, though, Joe, man. Hey, you was rocking that, baby. Hey, Clipper, I got to take some time off. How can somebody else win any damn awards? If I'm playing, let me take some time off so them boys can win some awards. Man, I'll be back. I'll be back. And Ocho, you cannot touch Joe, baby. I put every dollar I got on Joe.
3:51Joe Johnson:Hey, well, I tell you what. If you're going to put every dollar you got on Joe when we play 101, you definitely ain't going to have no money left. I can tell you that.
3:57Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey. You just say some of that money helps Steve Baller play that fine. You up there talking about Steve Baller. Hey. You need to help him play that fine. Yeah, Steve just got hit for 50. He got 50 for the investigation plus another 30. So he got 80 million in the hole right now. He's going to be all right, though. That ain't nothing. Let me ask you a question. Do you think the punishment is too severe? Is just right? If what they're alleging against your Clippers transpired, Kawhi, they did this to circumvent the salary cap. Is this punishment too harsh or is it just right? Hey, I'm going to stay in a super fast place.
4:35I'm not silver. And what he did, he felt that it was warranted. You know what I'm saying? Everybody was saying that it wasn't warranted. Pablo came out with the story. But I just feel within myself Of saying that I'm a super fan of the Los Angeles Clippers Man I'm a supporter no matter what
4:57Shannon Sharpe:We ain't got nothing but Support now You thought it was bad Y 'all about to go back to the late 80s Early 90s Clippers You know how bad it was back then Yeah it's starting all over From scratch man It's like going in the kitchen And cooking from scratch You know, it's going to take a long time for that meal to get prepared. Yeah.
5:21Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, and you know what else is, you know, that Western Conference, it's so thick over there in that Western Conference. Clipper Darrell, like, you're going to need some of those young guys that T. Lou and them got over there. Obviously, the developmental process, hopefully them guys can play a little above and above their heads. But, man, it's going to be tough for a while, you know, for the Clippers in the Western Conference, bro. Like, they ain't going to really be able to make no huge additions to where it can really change the franchise. You know what I mean? But T. Lou's a great coach, man.
5:52He's smart, man. Absolutely. And he's a great communicator. And one thing about him, he's talked to each player individually, man. So T. Lou's definitely going to be all right, man. I just feel like these guys got to come together and listen to one another, man, and get that camaraderie right, man. They need to be in the gym right now, man, getting their passes right. Because you know when you used to like it. And you know, you just hit the threes. Bro, you used to give it up. They used to hit you right in your spot, Joe. Joe, look. Ah! Clipper Darrell, you know damn well y 'all get the hell beat at y 'all.
6:26Shannon Sharpe:You try to do that raw, raw, raw superfan. Oh, we got to come together. We got to build some camaraderie. Y 'all ain't about to build nothing. Y 'all about to get down. I'm telling you. Don't doubt us, man. Don't ever doubt this red, white, and blue, Shannon. Shannon. It's what I do. The only hope y 'all have is with Kawhi. Kawhi gone. Think about it. Clipper Darryl, you came out of the root work. You used to be root like this here. Yay, yay, yay. Never. Yeah, what about the Clippers? We own LA, we own LA. That's gone now. LA our way, baby. LA I win my ass. I can share it. How many wins you think we gonna get this year?
7:09Shannon Sharpe:40 will be a good number for y 'all. Okay If you get to 40 That's real good I'm thinking somewhere around 30 to 35 Joe what you thinking In the west
7:23Chad Johnson:Yeah I think They can play 500 ball I think they can play 500 ball You think they can go 41 to 41 Yeah
7:31Shannon Sharpe:You want to make that bet I most certainly do I was hoping you do that Walked it right into the trap See You see, I didn't. See, I knew he couldn't have himself. He can't have himself. Hey, hey, hey, hey, Shannon. If they 500 above, you gotta put a Clipper Daryl suit on. And come to the game and sit right next to me. If you want nobody to be in there with me and you, ain't nobody gonna see it.
8:04Woo, woo.
8:05Shannon Sharpe:Who gonna see that beside the Clipper failure?
8:07Joe Johnson:The Clipper family members. Take that bet. Take that bet. I like that. I think, Clipper Nation, I think, man, we're going to come together, man. We're going to be all right, though, man. Come together. Come together and do what?
8:22Shannon Sharpe:We're going to come together and support our team, man. Y 'all, you know what? You know, as great as coaches, T. Lewis, look, first of all, Brandon Ingram and Darius Garland, they're going to have to stay healthy, Clipper Darrell. You know that's been the MO on them, basically, their careers. It's the inability to stay healthy. Now, if they can stay healthy, I think they can win 30, 35 games, maybe 38. Maybe. Because I think T. Lou is that good of a coach. But it's not like y 'all got a smorgasbord of talent over there. Bradley Beal, sixth man of the year. What? Bradley Beal, sixth man of the year.
8:59When was the last time Bradley Beal was healthy? Hey, he's going to be healthy this year, man. Don't worry about Bradley Beal. He just had a new baby, new baby, too. He ready to come out, man. Them Bill boys ain't no joke. Okay.
9:13Chad Johnson:Okay. Man, Joe, don't listen to Clipper Darrell. I mean, listen, listen, listen. I see what he, I see what he banking on. Now, if Brad, if Bradley can come back and, you know, be somewhat of what he used to be, Clipper Darrell, then, I mean, y 'all might have somewhat of a chance to be what I think is 500 basketball, bro. Yeah. I'm saying 50 wins. I'm going for 50 wins. I'm saying 50.
9:36Shannon Sharpe:Man, you know damn – y 'all didn't get 50 wins with Kawhi. The hell you talking about getting 50 wins without him? We went younger, though. We went younger now. So we're going to be all right, man. I'm telling you. Don't doubt us, Shannon. Even when Kawhi came back after he missed those first 15, 20 games, however many he missed, when he came back, y 'all were a different team. He gives you an opportunity every night. If you got a superstar, you have an opportunity every night. Y 'all don't got that now, Clip. This is where Darryl's Garland has to step up and show that he's a true point guard and get his boys right, man.
10:18I'm telling you, man, if them guys get in the gym and don't worry about the outside noise because Joe can say this. Oh, Joe, y 'all play in the NFL and NBA. When that outside noise gets to you, your friends is talking to you and they tell you how better you are, you have to sacrifice your game, a little bit of your game, for the better good to win a championship, right?
10:41Chad Johnson:Yeah. You can't do it all by yourself. So that's what they have to do. They have to take out that outside noise. Don't listen to their girls, their friends, nobody, and just listen to their coach, man, and we can win.
10:53Shannon Sharpe:I'm telling you. Clipper Darrell, as long as you live, don't you let me hear championship come out your mouth again. I don't know what the hell you thought this was. Oh, Joe, you heard this man? This man said championship.
11:08Chad Johnson:Hey, he a fan. He a fan. But I'll tell you something you said, Clipper Dura, that's got some truth in it. Darius Garland, he's going to have to turn into the prototypical point guard of today. He going to need to average at least about 22, 23 points a night, you know what I'm saying, at about six, seven assists. Like he don't have to be that guy, bro. You know what I mean? And then you hope like guys like Brandon Ingram come along and he's playing that second fiddle or the guy who is really putting up those numbers offensively. But y 'all going to need that, bro. The West tough, man. You talking about they going to be fighting for a play here in spot.
11:47Chad Johnson:No, no, no. 16, baby. 15, 16. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. We got OKC, San Antonio, Denver. You got Denver, Houston. Minnesota. Minnesota. That's just fine. The Lakers. Y 'all not beating the Lakers.
12:08Shannon Sharpe:Damn, Lakers 6. Oh. Come on, man.
12:13Shannon Sharpe:You're muted. Oh, am I muted? Yeah, you're good now. Go ahead. OK. Now, I'm going to tell you. I knew we're going to have a better record than the Lakers. So they're going to be at the bottom because y 'all got the great white hope over there. You know, we got brothers. You need some brothers. You need a couple of brothers over there.
12:40Chad Johnson:Hey, get out of the clipper down because that's his team too.
12:43Shannon Sharpe:Exactly. Why are you talking? He a Laker fan. First of all, y 'all ain't got not one player over there better than Luka. I'm not sure y 'all got a player over there better than AR. Why are you bumping him? But you can't hold the ball for 20 seconds, man. That game is over. Luka has to share the ball. If he don't share it, y 'all will not win. I'm telling you. So what's going to be the reason y 'all not winning? Y 'all going to share the ball and still not win. No, we're going to win. We're going to win. Them guys are going to come together, man. I think tragedy brings fans. I think bad things bring fans, the organization all together, man, and become one, man.
13:21And that's what winning is all about. Because if I would have... Janet, think about it. If I would have told you that New York would have won the championship last year, you would have laughed at me. You would have said it ain't no way. Right. Yeah. You know? But they won a championship. Who y 'all, Jalen Brunson? And they took that outside noise out. They took the outside noise out. It was no outside noise for them. Who is Jalen Brunson? Jalen Brunson didn't let the... I watched Jalen Brunson grow up because, you know, his dad was a clipper. You know that, right? I know Rick Brooks. He said that was the worst thing he ever did.
13:54He believed that red, white, and blue. Huh?
13:57Shannon Sharpe:What'd you say, sir? He said that was the worst thing he ever did was become a Clipper. No. But he talked to his son, man. His son was prepared for this. And you notice that he don't never get the big head. He never feels like he's better than anybody, man. He shares it with all his team. And that's what I love about Kawhi. Kawhi is the same way. It's about team. and it ain't about I, I, I, I. It's about team. Nobody can win a championship by themselves unless you're playing tennis and golf. Y 'all can't win a championship playing together. We will. Hey, hey, hey. Not in your lifetime.
14:33Joe Johnson:Hey, I like the optimism, though. I like the optimism. Yeah. Oh, Joe, Joe, I know where we go get some feet on the wood
14:41Shannon Sharpe:for about$100. What? We get corset, we corset the Clipper game for$100? I tell you what, wear some Jordan, some bronze, and Steph Curry, they might put our ass in the game. Oh, shoot, Chaddy, you're taking us back to the sports arena now. You remember those days, how bad y 'all was? How bad you were? They used to bring the fans from the threes down in the sports arena, you know, to look good on campus. I remember them days.
15:12Chad Johnson:Yeah. I remember that. Hey, I know exactly what you mean. I've been a part of some of that, Clipper Dell. I know what that's like. Exactly.

15:20Shannon Sharpe:Clipper Dell, man, thanks for being a good sport and joining us tonight, man. Wish you the best, man. Stay healthy. We're going to catch a game. I'm going to come out there and catch a game with you. Okay, let's do that, man. Hey, but you know what? When Shannon calls, man, you're like, yeah, man, I got to pick up. I appreciate that, man. Have a good day. Hey, Joe. Hey, Joe, you know we got that back now. Don't let him back out for the back. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't let him back out. I got you. And make sure you beat Ocho. Invite me out because I'm going to be your biggest cheerleader, Joe.
15:51I got you. I got you, brother.
15:52Shannon Sharpe:I got you. I got you. Somebody go win 50 games. Let's go, Clippers. Let's go. Yeah.
16:03Shannon Sharpe:Let's go, Clippers. And take the Padres with you. Bye. I love the optimism. That's how you got to be as a fan. General Manager, Howard Roseman. See you, Darrell. Have a good one, man. All right, baby. Oh, hey, I want to help you. Okay, I got y 'all to kick me out. Okay, I got to kick myself out. Yeah, we did. You got to log off. Hell no, honey. Yeah, man. I appreciate you guys, man. Hey, Shannon. Yeah. You're going to look good in that red, white, and blue suit, man. Man, get your ass up. I'll buy you out of the chair.
16:38Shannon Sharpe:Hey, log him out.
16:44Shannon Sharpe:General Manager Hyatt Roseman said he does not agree with the idea that this is a make-or-break season for Jalen Hurts to remain the team's starting quarterback. I think the bottom line for us is winning football games, and all the guys does is win football games. That includes our head coach as well. For me, the barometer is winning football games. In terms of what Jalen does, he's another guy with a tremendous track record. All he does is go out there and play good football. Really excited to have him as our quarterback, excited about this season and what we have going forward. I know there are a lot of fan bases out there that would love the results we have with him as our starting quarterback.
17:16Shannon Sharpe:Hurts is 57-25 as his starting quarterback in the NFL, all with the Eagles. The passing offense has been a point of scrutiny in the recent years. Last season, the Eagles finished 23rd in passing yards, less than 200 a game. He was 19th in QBR, a tick under 53. The high-salary offense in the NFL underperformed the whole season, ranking first in three and outs and 19th in points per game at 22.3.
17:42Joe Johnson:Ocho? I mean, look at, yeah, hey, listen, look at those stats and where they were early in their career when they won the Super Bowl the first time. They threw the ball a little bit more. They threw the ball a little bit more. Obviously, being able to run it well as well. And to say a quarterback job is on the line two years removed from winning the Super Bowl is ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. It's utter ridiculous. I know there are a lot of gripes, a lot of people that fuss about Jalen Hurst, his style of play, the way he plays. He doesn't throw the ball. He doesn't anticipate throws. I get all that.
18:18Joe Johnson:But one thing you can't take away from Jalen is that he wins, and he wins consistently. He has a very, very good record. And what they ask of him to do in that offense, it's not aesthetically pleasing like watching the Chargers or like watching Josh Allen or Joe Burrow who throw the ball at a high rate every single game. That's not what they ask him to do. They just don't. They run more of a balanced offense. I think they run to open up the pass, and that's the way it's always been. And they've won with that formula with Jalen Hurts at the helm.
18:52Shannon Sharpe:Well, I mean, you can't do any more than what's asked of you. They don't ask him to throw the ball 35, 40 times a game. They don't let him chuck the ball around the field like that. That's not what they let him do or ask him to do. So, like you said, at the end of the day, the results are about winning. Yeah, you like to have gaudy stats and win, but given a choice, I'll take the wins over the gaudy stats.
19:16Joe Johnson:Yeah.
19:18Shannon Sharpe:Go ahead, JoJo.
19:19Joe Johnson:I'm glad you said that. I'm going to let you finish. But when you don't have the gaudy stats, you get ridiculous comments that has Howie Roseman having to speak out about it because the stats aren't gaudy.
19:30Shannon Sharpe:Well, he ain't going to have no gaudy. when you're running, how you gonna get guided stance and you're doing the tush push? You run a quarterback draw. What kind of guided stance are we gonna have, Ocho?
19:40Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey. You gotta improvise a little bit. Gotta improvise a little bit. I don't know if they allow that in that offense.
19:48Joe Johnson:Well, listen. They have, is it Minion? Manion? Yeah, Sean Manion.
19:56Joe Johnson:I'm assuming, maybe. But you always want to protect your quarterback. You always want to play to his strengths. And when you play through his strengths, obviously, that's what you do best. And that's what you do well. Now, maybe some weaknesses that he might have, maybe they've worked on those in the offseason, and we'll see a different version of Jalen Hurst. But it's not something that's going to change the whole offense and start running shotgun and throwing the ball 40, 50 times a game. That's not going to happen. It's Jalen Hurst.
20:20Chad Johnson:And what they've always won, do it. Hey, look, I think the hard part is because the Eagles have won it. They've been at the mountaintop. But yet we're putting so much on Jalen Hurst. hell, Saquon Barkley was, I mean, look how great he was that year. You know what I mean? So I think the fact that Saquon didn't have a greater year as he had the year before, it put a lot of pressure on Jalen Hurts, and now this is why we're talking about this. You know what I'm saying? But, you know, I think if Jalen Hurts comes out and performs, obviously if Saquon is playing at a high level running that ball, you know what I mean?
20:55Chad Johnson:I think the story is a little different. I don't know if it's really much about Jalen Hurts. I think it's more about Saquon if y 'all ask me.
21:02Shannon Sharpe:The offensive line. The offensive line was banged up. Their best offensive line was injured. Landon Dickinson was injured. The center was knit. They didn't have Makai back there. The right guard wasn't as dominant as he was the previous year. There were a lot of things that went wrong. And the offense was so reliant the previous year. And then when they won the Super Bowl, old Saquon having that type of year, the offensive line was outstanding. I mean, he was going five, he was getting five yards before anybody even laid a hand on him.
21:32Joe Johnson:Right, yeah. And you know what else? That year they won the Super Bowl, Saquon was playing so well, and them having to put that extra man in the box, Uncle Joe.
21:40Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
21:41Joe Johnson:And it was time to pass it.
21:42Chad Johnson:Yeah.
21:43Joe Johnson:And A.J. and Devontae running wide open. Yeah. Running wide open because you got no choice. You know, your defense is at the mercy, you know, because you got to stack the box because of Saquon having so much success. They stacking the box, and he's still getting it.
21:58Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
21:58Joe Johnson:Still getting it. Going crazy. That O-line. They had the best O-line in the NFL. For sure.
22:03Shannon Sharpe:You look at the right tackle. To what happened last year. Right tackle, left tackle, Wilder at left. Lane Johnson at right. Dickinson is a top three guard.
22:13Joe Johnson:Yeah, they was banged up, Joe. They were.
22:15Shannon Sharpe:They were.
22:16Chad Johnson:But hold on. Hold on. Saquon almost had them at 2 ,000 rushing yards. What you mean? Ain't he supposed to be able to make something out of nothing? We're talking about the top, the upper echelon of running backs.
22:25Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
22:26Chad Johnson:What did he finish with, Joe?
22:26Shannon Sharpe:uh yeah he had he had a decent yeah like 1200 yards shoot that that that shoot that's good yeah yeah but we know what in them young guns i don't think he made the pro bowl last year because that was uh b john uh uh jameer gives and uh and christian mccaffrey hey hey them first
22:50Joe Johnson:those two names you just called? Or, boy, them are special. I think, you know what? Saquon is gonna be able to take all the pressure off Jayla Hurts, because I got a feeling them boys gonna get off to a hot start. They need to. Gonna get off to a hot start.
23:08Shannon Sharpe:Cause who they open up with? I don't know who they open up with, Joe. I think they're gonna have to get off to a hard start because the NFC ain't no slouch. You look at the Rams, You look at Seattle. You look at the 49ers. You look at Green Bay. You look at Chicago. You look at Detroit. You look at the Cowboys. They're going to have to get off to a hot start.
23:30Joe Johnson:Hey, the first – okay, they got commanders first. Who opens up with a division game?
23:36Shannon Sharpe:The Broncos. We do. Monday night against the Chiefs.
23:39Joe Johnson:The Cowboys do too. And then they got the Titans next.
23:44Shannon Sharpe:They got the Bears. That's going to be a good one. That'll be a good game. That'll be a good game. Yeah.
23:53Joe Johnson:Wait, which one? The Bears and the Eagles. Yeah.
23:57Shannon Sharpe:The Bears and the Eagles, man. Woo. Yeah, they opened up with Washington. Then they got the Titans. Then they got Chicago. Then they got the Rams at home. Jacksonville at home. Carolina at home. You know, one of these games, this Jacksonville game must be overseas or something. Because ain't no way they got all these damn home games. Back to back to back to back to back. The NFL Network game, 8.30 a.m. Yeah, that's an overseas game. They play in Jacksonville overseas. That's an 8.30 a.m. game. And then they got Carolina, Dallas, Washington, New York, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Arizona, Indy, Seattle, Houston.
24:37Shannon Sharpe:The back end of their schedule is, whoo, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Arizona, Indy, Seattle, Houston, San Fran, the Giants.
24:46Joe Johnson:Hey Joe, what's your Cowboy gonna do with them Eagles Joe?
24:50Chad Johnson:We'll send their ass up north. Where the birds fly on the bird fly up north. They fly south for the winter Joe.
25:01Shannon Sharpe:We gonna send them south for the winter. Yeah, yeah. Joe, you got a lot of confidence in them Cowboys. I hate it if they disappoint you. I really do.
25:12Joe Johnson:Hey, this is what I like about Joe. Joe is consistent with it. He's consistent with it. He like Clipper Daryl with the Clippers. No matter what, I'm going to support my team.
25:22Chad Johnson:I like that, Joe. What you mean? I think we're going to be one of the best teams in the NFL this year. Yo, I said that too.
25:28Joe Johnson:I mean, what you saying? Oh, okay.
25:30Chad Johnson:I'll act like I'm speaking Chinese or something.
25:36Chad Johnson:Yeah. Every time I bring the Cowboys up, he got something to say. Yeah.
25:42Shannon Sharpe:yeah that'd be y 'all y 'all be all right y 'all you know i don't think they're gonna be as good as
25:47Chad Johnson:three what week three week three oh yeah three homie when we yeah when we see y 'all jack yeah
25:53Shannon Sharpe:i don't need you looking for your 300 run 400.
25:57Chad Johnson:now come on more than capable of doing that come with now now with that defensive line we got now with that front we got we not playing with y 'all this year so i'm just letting you know hey what derek here we go do huh Woo-hoo.
26:12Chad, you know what?
26:13Chad Johnson:I might need to go to the game. Where we playing at? Where we playing at? In Brazil? Oh, yeah. No, I ain't going there.
26:26Chad Johnson:He'll be right here at home watching that OT.
26:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that game is in Brazil. Damn. But I mean, look, I mean, they don't make you no bad brother. Your team don't do what you think they're going to do, Joe.
26:43Chad Johnson:Hey, Ojo, me picking the CD land. I'm going to be hitting y 'all with this all season. We hit that thing, Joe? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What am I saying? I'm going to have a shite stay on to y 'all. Yeah.
26:56Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Okay. Don't worry about it. Hey, what would they play? They play Baltimore?
27:06Chad Johnson:Oh, we got to put the seatbelt on, huh? Hey, we strapping it up.
27:10Shannon Sharpe:It's over for y 'all, Joe. Oh, and the Rams. And then, ooh, did you, ooh, ooh. But that's Philly's schedule. I can't wait till y 'all get the Rams. Miles Garrett might have like six sacks. Damn. Against who? Y 'all.
27:26Chad Johnson:Man, please.
27:27Shannon Sharpe:Come on, be for real. AD might have three. Kobe Turner have two. Fisk have one. Brandon Byron. Oh, yeah, they might have 10 sacks. How many sex they gonna have?
27:36Chad Johnson:How many sex they gonna have? Tia probably by Tia. Man, come on. Golly. Come on, man. You ain't, come on now. Come on. I'm talking video games now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what it is. Ocho, that man ain't being realistic right now, man.
27:49Shannon Sharpe:I can see it right now. Calling it.
27:51Chad Johnson:Man, you tripping. You tripping.
27:53Shannon Sharpe:You tripping. What? Y 'all gonna try to come with a quick game, but them boys Jalen Watson and McDuffie,
28:01Chad Johnson:whoo, whoo. They gonna be laying helmets. They gonna be laying their helmets.
28:04Shannon Sharpe:Well, they ain't got to come alone. And with y 'all right tackle, I can see AD playing in that game with that right tackle. Steel or Jones?
28:16Chad Johnson:I hope they watching this, too. Because if Steel Jones, y 'all hear that? I need y 'all to tighten up, baby. And tighten up.
28:23Shannon Sharpe:Ain't nothing they can do about that, Ocho. Ain't nothing they can do about it, Ocho. Man. Come on, man. Ocho, these receivers, man, they getting out of hand. Coast wide receiver Laquan Treadwell wears number 13. has told Keenan Allen he will not be wearing number 13 and ended, despite Allen wearing number 13 for his entire NFL career. Let's take a listen to what he had to say. Have you guys had any further conversations about that before? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Me and Keenan spoke probably three times already, and he was just like he's not really worried about it. And like I told him, I said, I respect the game.
28:54I know what you did in the number. Me and my family did a lot of praying about it as well. And so he was cool with me keeping the number, and we kind of smoked briefly about it, like I said, a couple times. We went forward from there. So you guys are sticking where you are? Yeah. You're 13, he's 10. Yeah. Okay. How did you end up with 13? I knew you had a couple of numbers that you had come around in your career. Did that have any significance to you or did you choose it? So initially I came here, I was in seven. Chavarius came, then DJ came, I was in 17. And so then Kenan comes. So I've been switching numbers a lot.
29:31And so last year I really grew to like 13. I was playing well in it. Just everything about my family, we've just been, you know, just falling in love with the number and just seeing me out there making plays. And so having a great camp in it, so I just still want to stop that momentum.
29:48Shannon Sharpe:Ocho. I like that. He's a former first-round pick. I like that. Spent the majority of his five years on the practice squad. You go to that team. You're Keenan Alley. You're 48 catches for being the number third all-time leading receiver. in NFL history. I'm going straight to Miss Ursae. What you doing? Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, man. You gonna take the number off his back? I'm going straight to Miss... You see what Odell did? What number Odell wear, don't you, Joe?
30:21Chad Johnson:13. Well, listen, hold up, hold up. The man said he done been there a few years, three, four years.
30:28Shannon Sharpe:He was just in Washington. It wasn't looking to tread well in Washington. You do realize, Joe, he went to Tennessee. That was one of the reasons that they traded A.J. Brown, because he was supposed to be A.J. Brown. Did we forget that? I didn't. Listen, listen. The man saying he's tired of you. He's from Ole Miss too, Joe. Is he? Look that up, if I'm not mistaken. He was in Minnesota too, huh? And didn't he play Washington last year? because I think he caught a touchdown on the Bronco.
31:07Shannon Sharpe:He was at Baltimore?
31:11Shannon Sharpe:Oh, I was thinking somebody else. Who was I thinking about?
31:15Joe Johnson:The one, the receiver, Burt. Oh, yeah, yeah, Trey Lombards. That's the one.
31:20Shannon Sharpe:He from Arkansas. Is he? Hey, um. You were, yeah. You heard what you said? Yeah, look, Treadwell was drafted by Minnesota. Yeah.
31:33Joe Johnson:You know what I heard him say? I've been playing well in the number 13. I've had to change numbers twice already. But I've been having a good camp, and I think maybe, since I'm playing well wearing number 13, I want to keep wearing it because I think that might be the reason why I'm playing as well as I am right now.
31:50Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, and every time we get a new player, y 'all think y 'all finna shake me up and I got to get a new number every day now. I'm staying with 13. Damn all that. I don't care who come. Come over here. Hell, Jerry Rice can come out of retirement. I'm keeping it. Yeah, Odell can come over here. I'm keeping my 13, bro. I'm tired of me and my family done prayed on it. Okay, Ocho. And, yeah, I'm tired of changing numbers, man. Every time we get a new player. Nah, I got to change my number. The man saying to change number a couple times. He tired of it. Got a couple more coming.
32:20Shannon Sharpe:You got one more coming. Because I'm sure going upstairs and talking to Miss Ursa about that. I get it. I get it. People don't understand, Joe. Them numbers mean – guys, I mean, man, people take that number serious. Yeah. Because a lot of times you've had that number. You've had that number. So, I mean, a lot of guys have certain numbers. Basically a whole – you know, especially, you know, Dan Marino had 13 his whole career. Yeah. So some guys – John had number seven. So some guys – the number means something to them. Numbers mean something different to every player. And people are like, oh, it does.
32:55Shannon Sharpe:Nah, guys, that superstition, I mean, it means guys do certain things. Every single Sunday, every single game, basketball player, every single game, and once that thing get in you, you're not changing. I mean, I say that tongue-in-cheek. I still, if I'm Keenan Allen, I'm going upstairs to tail on it, but if I'm in his shoes, I'm keeping that number. Hey, hey, hey.
33:21Joe Johnson:I ain't lying. Hey, he said his family prayed on it now. Yeah. And God said, obviously, you got the message from God was to keep that number because you're playing well in 13. Yeah. You notice in this interview, he said, I've been wearing 13 and I've had a good camp and I've already had to change my number two times. I understand what Keenan Allen has done in the past in this number, but boy, God said, I ain't coming up. What did God say?
33:47Shannon Sharpe:Well, I'm saying, hey, when I'm going to follow my knee and say, God, will you ask Miss Ursae to get me that number? We both praying. Hey, yeah.
33:59Joe Johnson:I hope Mr. Trillwell comes out and have a good season. I hope so. Because if he doesn't, him not changing numbers is gonna be the butt of the joke.
34:09Shannon Sharpe:He's played, this is his third year player for Andy. He's caught, guess how many passes he's caught in 12 games he's played in Ocho?
34:16Joe Johnson:How many? 37, 38? Zero.
34:22Shannon Sharpe:Oh, man. I'm trying to be funny man. What's his numbers for real? In 12 games played in three years, he's caught zero passes.
34:30Chad Johnson:Hey, Unc, I think on your fantasy draft, you should draft him by like seven, eight rounds, because he probably going to have a breakout year this year.
34:37Shannon Sharpe:Mm-mm. If you want to break out of last place, don't select him. Hey, what year is this? Probably like five or six.
34:51Shannon Sharpe:but if I'm not mistaken did he break his leg he broke okay he was drafted he was drafted in 2016 wait is year 10 damn
35:08Shannon Sharpe:he went to Ole Miss right
35:13Shannon Sharpe:year 11 damn
35:19Shannon Sharpe:man you better get up off that jersey get up off that jersey man get up off that jersey this man going in the year 11 he spent the last five years on the practice squad don't show five majority of the five years on the practice squad see that's what i'm saying jojo you remember when you and i was in the league practice squad you get like one two years of practice squad that was it you can't be
35:50Shannon Sharpe:ocho i thought the practice squad was for development guys if you in your level you
35:55Joe Johnson:ain't developing he's still he's still developing huh he just said hey boy i can't even fight for
36:02Shannon Sharpe:that whenever exactly hey chat y 'all know if ocho can't fight for you
36:14Shannon Sharpe:It don't make you no bad brother though, cause Ocho can't fight for you. Ocho started, man I can't even fight for that.
36:21Joe Johnson:Yeah, come on now, I'm thinking this, maybe year four, year five, something, and trying to, he's feeling good, like come on young boy, you know, I love you, but come on now, come on baby.
36:35Shannon Sharpe:You're 11.
36:38Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, he gotta get, hey, I ain't lying, I'm going upstairs.
36:45Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I'm snitching. He already said it. I don't care what he's saying. I'm tired.
36:52Chad Johnson:What the owner said? Hey, man, you just got here, partner. They been pushing me to the side every damn year for somebody else. I'm sorry. I ain't moving. You know what you're saying? They been pushing me to the side for all these guys coming in, and I'm tired of it. I'm tired of it. Yeah, I'm sick of it. But no, I ain't giving up my damn old time. Man, I went back to Denver.
37:13Shannon Sharpe:Somebody had 84. Did they? All I know is when I got there, he had Sharp on the back of it. And his last name wasn't Sharp.
37:24Joe Johnson:Man, hey, I'm still 11 years old.
37:27Shannon Sharpe:I'm still, come on, man. Come on, man. The practice squad used to fuck development. Ocho, come on now, man. You're not still developing in no year later. You know what? This is a testament to the kind of person he is.
37:42Joe Johnson:I'm just telling you. I mean, I met him before. Cool dude. But I'm saying him still being on a team is a testament to the kind of person he is. Oh, you got to have perseverance. Yeah. Got to be. That ain't nothing but God, boy. Damn. He got to be a good dude.
37:59Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. No, that wasn't him. I said, man. I didn't know. I thought he was like five or six years. I'm like you, Ocho. I did not know.
38:11Joe Johnson:I thought it had to be, okay, maybe it's year five. I mean, no one would – I mean, you got to be young to be worried about a number like that. But 11?
38:23Shannon Sharpe:He must be good on special teams or something. Maybe. Because Ocho, they ain't keeping no receiver with zero catches in three years, play 12 games unless he played special teams. Yeah, he's probably really good But I'm still Joe, I'm snitching. I'm going up to the owner Hey, I'm a little Make sure that nobody see me Go right on the stairs Hey, Kamin, how are you doing? But you know what?
38:54Joe Johnson:I mean, what Because of Kenan Allen And the records he's going to bring, I think he needs 48 more catches to go in Third all time At the receiver position the call would be coming from upstairs. It shouldn't even be coming from Keenan. This is because of what he's accomplished in 13. What 13 represents with the last name Allen on the back, I wouldn't even want to. I'm handing that over. Hey, listen. I know you were 13. Based on what you've done in the NFL, it's Slaggiboy$20 ,000, man. I ain't going to give it to you for free. Slaggiboy$20 ,000 and go ahead so you can continue. I just lied a little quick.
39:38Joe Johnson:Yeah, I mean, but just know, and, you know, I prayed about it with my family? For what? Not disrespectful, I'm just saying. I mean, but, hey, he has his reasons. He says he's been playing well in camp. I wish young boy none but the best to see him be an impact on that field in whatever role they put him in.
39:58Chad Johnson:Yes.
40:00Shannon Sharpe:Lamar Jackson's five-year,$260 million contract expires at the end of 27. But Eric DaCosta expressed optimism a deal would get done. Let's take a listen to what he had to say. I would say I'm optimistic. Yeah. Nothing else to expand on? No, I mean, I feel I'm optimistic. I feel good about it. I know you don't like to get into details, but what kind of fuels the optimism for you? Compared to, say, maybe 23 even. I mean, I really don't like to get into details, right?
40:29Joe Johnson:Yeah, I'm not going to talk about it specifically. I think Lamar and I have a pact, as you all know. I've said probably 50 times, we're not going to talk about business publicly. And, you know, it's a different type of negotiation because it's a different type of negotiation with Lamar. I understand it wholeheartedly, wholeheartedly. And knowing Lamar, knowing him personally, you know, for all these years, even before we got to the NFL, he didn't even think about that deal, though.
41:00Chad Johnson:Yeah.
41:01Joe Johnson:He didn't even think about that. Hey, once football team starts, he locked in. Moms, I take care of all that dirty work. I call that the dirty work. That's going to take care of itself. And when they take care of itself, the number is going to be exactly what they're supposed to be based on his value and how much of an asset he is to this team.
41:21Shannon Sharpe:So that's going to take care of itself. I definitely agree. And I think the thing is, the last time he was a one-time MVP, now he's a two-time MVP, he'll be 30 years old. He's 29. 29 yeah
41:35Chad Johnson:oh another band
41:36Shannon Sharpe:so the question is Mahone boy Mahone boy is at 64 million is it gonna top that now I don't think it'll top that in total value but in annual value yeah Mahone boy is half a million hold on
41:54Chad Johnson:Mahone's making 64 years boy he gonna be up there okay Ocho
42:00Shannon Sharpe:the question is I don't think he passed it in total value my homeboy is north of half a billion I don't think he gets there but the annual value I think he's more concerned with annual value and guaranteed money as opposed to oh I got a contract worth 600 million but I only got 100 million guaranteed what good is that nah guarantee me about 200 million guarantee me 230, 240 now we can talk
42:29Joe Johnson:whatever it is hey whatever it is it's gonna be respectful i can tell you that this is what you
42:33Shannon Sharpe:gonna do whatever josh allen got guaranteed give me a dollar more than that um no no no make it two
42:40Joe Johnson:dollars more
42:43Shannon Sharpe:make it two dollars more whatever i don't know what he got guaranteed but whatever he got
42:51Joe Johnson:guarantee that oh Lamont yeah okay look I just
42:57Shannon Sharpe:but he has to have some level of frustration because he's the only quarterback that has to go through this twice remember he played one year on the franchise tag Ocho no other quarterback Dax had to do it Dax did it one year then they came back and they took care of Dax and they've been taking care of Dax ever since he's like I gotta go through this again I gotta go through this again yep
43:18Joe Johnson:He ain't tripping, though.
43:20Shannon Sharpe:You're like, man.
43:21Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, to make the most out of the situation, you can't really be tripping. Okay, Ocho, you just got to keep your head down and keep working, bro. And then, you know, that'll take care of itself. You go out there and do what you're supposed to do. That'll take care of itself.
43:35Shannon Sharpe:It gets hard, though, because I've been doing what I'm supposed to be doing, Ocho. He can still do it, huh? He can do it again. Y 'all know I'm supposed to have three MVPs. I mean, y 'all might have made the call. Y 'all might have made the call and told the NFL to get it to Josh. I'm just saying let me stop before people say Shannon Sharpe said Baltimore Ravens called him let me stop I said that tongue in cheek no I thought it I really did because he was the first team all pro quarterback that doesn't happen very often the first team pro quarterback when he's in the running for the MVP he normally wins that award or less a running back but a quarterback that didn't make first team so how did that look so hold on you the MVP of the league but you're not the best quarterback yeah i was confused by that i'm not and i think it happened i think it happened before but i was hell i was confused about it then i'm confused by it now yeah so what you think what you think what you think uh uh the annual value gonna be you think 62, 63, 64, 65?
44:41Shannon Sharpe:Probably 65. Oh, he's going to eclipse.
44:44Chad Johnson:You think he's going to eclipse Mahomes?
44:47Shannon Sharpe:Don't you think he does? Don't you say so? Yeah. Oh, no, he's going to eclipse Josh Allen. Oh, you're talking about Josh Allen as far as guaranteed money? Guaranteed, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. That's the thing. That's what I'm looking at. hey I'll take 270 if you're going to guarantee the whole thing I would right yeah I don't care because all they do is that they put all that big money you know damn well you ain't finna get no 600 million
45:21Joe Johnson:nah they put it all
45:23Shannon Sharpe:that's going to be boardable years
45:26Joe Johnson:nah
45:28Shannon Sharpe:yeah yeah
45:32Chad Johnson:hey y 'all think they'll do that though
45:38Joe Johnson:no no in the perfect world yes no in real life no because if you think if you think about it
45:45Shannon Sharpe:with the exception nobody's ever had a contract uh two people really basically play guaranteed contracts that's deshaun and first cousins yeah because they never played on the nothing that was because think about it he went from franchise to franchise to three years for 91 million and he come back and got another three years for 100 plus million and he got another got a hundred something million from the Falcons so he's never played on anything but guaranteed contracts
46:15Joe Johnson:after betting on himself twice though bet on himself twice so it's going to be interesting
46:23Shannon Sharpe:to see but I think look he's played well enough whatever whatever whatever he gets he will have earned it he's a heart and soul of that team. They're not going anywhere without him playing at an extremely high level. And if he's healthy, we know the level that he can reach. Yeah. He said the reason why he didn't run a lot last year, that was hurt. Well, I hope he's healthy this year by any means necessary. If you got to throw for 300, throw it. If you got to run for 150, do that too. If you need both of them in the same game, especially against the Cowboys. Boy, please let that man have like three, how that man had like 325, three touchdowns, another 15 carries for a buck 22 and another tub.
47:15Shannon Sharpe:Derrick Henry, he's running for about 142. Damn.
47:20Chad Johnson:Hey, you think about the old Cowboys defense that we had. We ain't got that defense. That defense gone. Nah, you think about that old defense. That old defense is gone.
47:30Joe Johnson:Hey, it's a new defense now, huh?
47:32Chad Johnson:Well, we got some new steppers in the building, partner, and we not playing. You hear me? We not playing.
47:38Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, you talking with a face in your voice, too, Joe.
47:42Chad Johnson:Yeah, you better be lucky we don't play them damn bangles, Ocho. That's what you better be lucky with.
47:46Joe Johnson:Now, see? Now, see, Joe, I was with you. I was with you all the way until you brought up my bangles. Don't do that. I was with you all the way. I ain't saying nothing about the Cowboys.
47:54Chad Johnson:I just got a little. i got me amped up so you had to i had to take off on you too that's just how i go i got you after what i do yeah you talking about my cowboy you still talking about that old defense who's giving up all them points by a second there with ass trash we back now yeah hey you see that
48:13Joe Johnson:now y 'all ain't ass trash y 'all just you know trash juice hey joe hey y 'all you see they brought Brother Milton back on. He ain't clear. He clear away. What'd I tell you they're going to do, Ocho? Yeah. Joe, what'd I tell you they're going to do?
48:28Shannon Sharpe:What'd I tell you?
48:30Joe Johnson:You were right. Hey, listen. I just made up a scenario where everybody jumped on my head. Like, oh, you really thought he was going to? No. I didn't think that because if that was the case. I mean, I was creating a scenario in my head and said, maybe. Would it really happen? Probably not. You know, they jumping on me. Ah, Ocho, what you think now? He clear away. Well, duh. I was just making something up to have conversation and something to say.
48:57Chad Johnson:Hey, can I ask y 'all a question though?
48:59Joe Johnson:Take your time.
49:02Chad Johnson:Dallas, Dallas let him go. Does it say something about Joe Milton that none of these other teams was willing to pick him up?
49:09Shannon Sharpe:Because they might've wanted to pick him because here's the thing, Joe. They might've wanted to pick him up, put him on the practice squad, but they couldn't because if you claim somebody off waivers, you got to sign them to the active roster. and him coming in and signing him to the active roster he hadn't run the out -
49:24Joe Johnson:That takes the roster spot away.
49:26Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, so in other words, Jerry out here playing chess while everybody else playing checker. Yeah, okay. I felt that's why he did it.
49:34Shannon Sharpe:I think he felt that there's a better chance if he put Will Howard out there on waivers, somebody would claim him and sign him to the active roster.
49:42Chad Johnson:Yep.
49:43Shannon Sharpe:He rolled a dice, he hit his point, and they got back. Guy stays in the system again for another year hey try to do this thing all over again yeah i i think with with with
49:56Chad Johnson:how i think the cowboys was willing to go with experience versus prodigy you know what i mean like we we know joe mil got the you know the better upside but the fact that sam how has started 18 games in the nfl okay oh joe that means you know essentially yeah it does it really does mean something. Because we talk about Milton. Obviously, he had a hell of a preseason, but he has no experience, especially no starting experience. And I think with Dallas, if hopefully don't, but if Dak does go down, they want somebody who they can trust in that offense, bro. That's what they want.
50:34Shannon Sharpe:And Jerry rolled the dice, and they played it right. They played it correctly. Yeah.
50:41Chad Johnson:Yeah.
50:43Shannon Sharpe:Aaron Rodgers was asking about an interception he had at practice. You'll never believe his response. Listen to this.
51:18but mistakes can happen. That's a great one to happen in practice, but he's gotten a lot better and I'm really proud of him.
51:27Joe Johnson:I like that. I like that. I like it. If you're going to make mistakes, get him out of the system now, because listen, you make it in here and you make them in the game. I ain't throwing you the ball. The key word he said, he's gotten better and I got trust in him. That's the two things you need from your quarterback, especially a Superbowl winning quarterback, who's on his last year who's going to need everybody to be on point and do everything the right way. Because if you don't trust him, you ain't getting the ball.
51:52Shannon Sharpe:Me personally, I would have preferred him to pull him aside and say this is the second time you've made that mistake. That's what I would have preferred. Second of all, Ochoa, damn it, how many times on the under route and the slant route you can't stop? I'm throwing it in anticipation. If you throw the ball, I'm going to hit the DB in the effing chest.
52:23Shannon Sharpe:it's not that complicated man damn
52:30Shannon Sharpe:that's route running run on one you can't stop on the route especially if it's a route where you gotta cross the guy's face because he's throwing you're gonna cross his face if you pull up and try to reverse back out i'll let the ball go i'm gonna hit the i'm gonna hit the dv in the chest it's gonna be a pick six. Every time.
52:49Joe Johnson:Every time.
52:51Shannon Sharpe:Damn it, son.
52:56How many...
52:59Shannon Sharpe:Practice, hey. Hey, get his ass out of there.
53:07Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I mean, I gotta send you a message, bro. He said he did this one time before earlier in camp. now here we are now and you make the same mistake you cannot give up on the under route there is you can't reverse on the under you can't reverse on a slant I'm throwing it my back foot hit I'm letting the ball go the season starts it's not like I got the ball on the string I can throw it pull it back and throw it again come on bro hey Yeah. Y 'all are talking about bitch. I should be a coach. I wish I might. Man, my blood pressure. Man, please.
53:55Joe Johnson:Hey, I'm just thinking about that under route, man. Man of zone. Zone, sit your ass in that hole. Man, boy, keep your ass going. Keep going.
54:09Joe Johnson:Hey, boy. Oh, man.
54:12Shannon Sharpe:You know what I'm saying, Joe? Yeah. Here we are making the same mistake. You know you got general rule of thumb. If it's a route where you have to cross the guy's face, you've got to cross his face. As a defender, you never let an offensive player cross your face. That's a no-no. As an offensive player, you always cross the guy's face. It's a match of wills. I'm not supposed to let you. I'm supposed to get across. It's really that simple. The guy's going to pick it. If you start the under or you start the slant, if that guy can catch, he's going to pick that ball and he's going to the house. And everybody's going to be looking at Aaron Rodgers like, why'd you throw it?
55:01Shannon Sharpe:No, I threw it because he was supposed to cross the guy's damn face. That's why I threw it. And we practice this every single day. And that's the general rule of thumb. You cross the guy's face. Those are two routes you absolutely have to cross the guy's face.
55:15Joe Johnson:And you know what's going to happen in the game? What's that? That exact same scenario. It's going to happen in the game. Because if they're doing it in practice, you're going to get that look in the game too. He's going to be ready though. He's going to be ready in the game. I hope so. Because the season's starting the week. And you're still making that mistake a week out before the season starts.
55:34Chad Johnson:Man, when your quarterback come out and put you on front street like that, That's embedded in your head, Uncle Ocho.
55:39Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. I wish Aaron would have pulled him to the side, not sharing that to the media. Hey, hold on. He probably did that in practice as soon as that happened. Yeah, do it again.
55:53Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, that's where you put your arm around his shoulder and say, look here, son. Come on now. I believe in you. Yeah. I believe in you. We're going to be counting on you to make plays.
56:03Joe Johnson:I'm listening to those key words that Aaron Rodgers said, too. He's gotten much better. I'm proud of him. And I trust him. But when the quarterback don't have trust to throw you that ball because he's not sure if you're going to be in the right place or not.
56:17Chad Johnson:Yeah.
56:18Joe Johnson:Especially somebody like Aaron Rodgers, who's probably the best of the ball in general. Man, you got to be on point.
56:27Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
56:30Shannon Sharpe:I'm like, bro. Nothing makes a quarterback more upset. is that something that we've already discussed, a mistake that we're supposed to have to clear it up and you go make that mistake again. Now something is not connecting, either the way we teach it or the way you perceive it. Something, what is getting lost in translation? I think that was the name of a movie, Lost in Translation.
56:59Joe Johnson:Yeah, that was a good movie.
57:02Shannon Sharpe:Because that's the relationship aspect. You in a relationship, Ocho? y 'all got to speak the same language she can't speak spanish and you speak in mandarin chinese either you learn spanish or she learned mandarin so you guys can communicate well bro i thought we had this so we just went over this and guess what you effed it up then yes and i asked you i said what was the what didn't you understand about the under or the slant that you got to keep running that you got to cross the guy's face what is it that you're missing what is this there's something if is the translation is what I'm saying is not computing what is this son
57:47Shannon Sharpe:Aaron probably over there like
57:56Shannon Sharpe:Oh Lord have a break. I can't do it Ocho. I can't do it. I can't.
58:03Joe Johnson:Listen, it might be different coming from you.
58:06Shannon Sharpe:They're gonna be different.
58:07Joe Johnson:The way you coach it, your delivery, they probably won't make any mistakes because they get it right the first time. The way you coach. No they ain't gonna get it right. They ain't gonna get it right.
58:17Chad Johnson:Hey, he got a point. He got a point, Oc, is who it's coming from. Is who it's coming from.
58:21Shannon Sharpe:If they get it right with Aaron Rodgers, they damn sure don't get it right for me. Yeah, the message might be a little different from you. It is, because the first time you F it up.
58:32Shannon Sharpe:The next thing you're going to catch is a plane up out of here.
58:40Joe Johnson:Hey, you know, if anything, you need to go coach Savannah State. There you go. Oh, man. I'm just saying. I mean, listen.
58:48Shannon Sharpe:Why would they do the fam you?
58:51Joe Johnson:Who?
58:52Shannon Sharpe:South Carolina State. But hold on. You really think we finna lose that game? Y 'all gon' lose the game. I ain't sayin' y 'all gon' lose it like that, but y 'all gon' lose. Yeah. Nah, never that. Nah, these kids don't like old school coaching. They don't like that.
59:11Chad Johnson:Too much. Too much.
59:13Shannon Sharpe:And I'm already a yeller by nature. I can't keep going over. Ocho, what we do, Ocho? How many times we practice these plays? We practice them Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
59:27Joe Johnson:Thursday, Friday.
59:28Shannon Sharpe:Okay.
59:28Joe Johnson:And walk through Saturday.
59:29Shannon Sharpe:And we walk through Saturday. So we get to the end of that night, we go over, Joe, the first 15. The first 15 plays that we're going to run in the game, we done practice them. Yeah. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, walk through them on Saturday. Get down Saturday night, okay, these are the plays that we run. These are the first 15 plays that we're going to run.
59:48Chad Johnson:Yeah.
59:49Shannon Sharpe:I've been down.
59:54Shannon Sharpe:and you think I'm going to be okay with that if we done gone over it four times we walk through the first 15 Saturday morning we discuss the first 15 now mind you Joe we install the first 15 plays that we're going to have Saturday night guess what we're going to walk through then we discuss them again Saturday night
1:00:20Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, son. I'm out last year because I feel you're trying to get me fired. But I'm out last year. I would tell you, like Coach told one of my players, he said, son, he was supposed to be on PAT block. First of all, he told him to go in there and watch the boot. They've been practicing all week. What did he do? Knife down. Quarterback boot outside, 15 yards, run out of bounds. Next play, they scored a touchdown. He called him out the game. He's supposed to be in there on PAT. Ended up having to call timeout. He got there on Monday, he said, he said, I don't know what's going to happen, but I did recommend we cut you.
1:01:12Shannon Sharpe:That's the kind of coach that I'm used to. That's how he grew up. Man, them coaches, they keep telling, Oh, Chau, them coaches they keep telling you stuff over and over and over and over?
1:01:22Joe Johnson:We got one time, maybe two, depending on how good you were.
1:01:25Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, and guess what? They knew you couldn't go no damn well neither. You had to stay put, I don't care where you was at. Yeah, they knew that. Different day, fellas.
1:01:35Shannon Sharpe:It is. It absolutely is. I was like, I just don't get it. Don't let me, like I said, I get Aaron's frustration. I just wish he'd have kept that inside, pulled a young man to the side, says, hey, that's twice.
1:01:51Joe Johnson:But that's been him, man. He's done this before.
1:01:57Shannon Sharpe:That's been one of my gripes, is that when players make mistakes on Joe, we don't put them out on front. Yeah. Now, don't think I ain't gonna, hey, I ain't gonna tell the media, hey, but we get behind closed doors, I'm gonna let you have it. Because we went over that, son. We went over it on Wednesday. You said you had it. We went over it on Thursday. And you did it. You did it. But a lot of times what happens is that as long as the DB don't try to make a play on the ball, he going to keep coming. Soon as the DB try to make a play on the ball, all of a sudden, you think you're going to reverse pivot.
1:02:38Shannon Sharpe:Even if we get a collision and the ball hit the dirt, you've done your job. you just can't not cross his face and let the ball get picked son that's it sometimes it's not about you catching the ball you didn't explain that to him sometimes it's not about you catching it it's making sure that mofo don't catch it don't catch it alright now it's time for our final segment of the evening it's time for Q and A
1:03:16Chad Johnson:Hey Joe. What's happening? That's Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme.
1:03:22Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, this is my dinner tonight. Man, I did not know. Ocho, Joe, you know Krispy Kreme don't have damn near$17,$20 a dozen?
1:03:31Chad Johnson:Nah, I didn't. I ain't ate Krispy Kreme. I don't know how long.
1:03:33Shannon Sharpe:Hey, if they keep going up in price like that, I won't be eating them.
1:03:38Chad Johnson:They got the hot sign on, Ocho, when you went over there?
1:03:40Joe Johnson:Yeah, the hot sign was on. Yeah, the hot sign was on. I just got half a dozen though. Just like half a dozen. Just regular glaze? Yeah, regular glaze. That's all I want from a whipped cream.
1:03:50Shannon Sharpe:Regular glaze.
1:03:50Joe Johnson:You heard me, Joe? What is that? It's just my little cheat meal for the day. You know, it's my cheat day.
1:03:54Chad Johnson:Oh, okay. Okay. You got six of them things? You finna put six down, huh?
1:03:58Joe Johnson:All six are, Joe. Right now in the problem. You ain't going to warm them up a little bit?
1:04:03Shannon Sharpe:$9,$10?
1:04:05Joe Johnson:Hold on. On the receipt it say, uh yeah they don't need to tell you how much it is on the receipt huh you do it dash it or you bought it when they bought it go dash because the hot the hot light was on i don't know yeah
1:04:22Chad Johnson:they ain't got the price on that joe i'm saying you feel you're going to get right to it ain't god they probably about half a dozen donuts they probably would you chase them with that's probably about 20 some 20 some dollars ocho coke yeah ocho boy if i eat that boy that's already that's about
1:04:39Joe Johnson:five six pounds on me joe i'm sure joe i'm trying to game you'll see how big i got when i see you in houston friday i don't i don't put i don't put on 15 joe man 15 what pounds hey joe i've been in the i've been in the gym here i'm about going joe j just just in care i'll prepare for you
1:04:59Chad Johnson:You, there ain't gonna be enough, partner. I'm sorry to tell you. Like, I don't know what you think this is.
1:05:04Joe Johnson:Nah, Joe, just to be able to withstand the force, cause you know, you're a bigger person. So I'm talking about when we play basketball. Hey, hey. You know, when you try to crash down, you try to give me that, I gotta be able to, I gotta be able to withstand that thing.
1:05:15Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, Unc, Unc, I pay attention to my opponents, and if my opponent eating Krispy Kreme, drinking Coke, boy, you gonna be in for a long damn day, messing with me.
1:05:25Joe Johnson:You throw that up, Arjo. Hold on, time out, Joe. What? Hold on, Joe. This has been my diet all my life when it come to competing. This ain't going to change nothing. So if you're looking at what I'm eating and thinking you're going to have a chance with me, that's when you're wrong.
1:05:36Chad Johnson:And the problem, here's what you don't understand here. You ain't never played against nobody like me, Ocho. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Joe, what you talking about?
1:05:46Joe Johnson:I played in summer league down here in Miami, Joe, we're playing just like you.
1:05:50Chad Johnson:Damn, you ain't do nothing in them damn summer leagues there.
1:05:54Joe Johnson:I scored by eight points.
1:05:57Shannon Sharpe:The whole time Kawhi was quiet because he was back door and Kawhi laughed, bro had everyone food. I mean, I'm sure a lot of people knew. Yeah. A lot of people knew. Yeah, yeah.
1:06:11Chad Johnson:People knew, they ain't, ain't, ain't, ain't.
1:06:12Shannon Sharpe:You wanna say it now, nah?
1:06:14Chad Johnson:Yeah, they just chilling, they laying low, acting like they don't know what's going on. That's how they supposed to do it.
1:06:18Shannon Sharpe:Ain't none of my business.
1:06:20Chad Johnson:Yeah, hello.
1:06:21Shannon Sharpe:Because when people, it was brought to everybody's attention and everybody said it was sour grapes. They're just mad because Kawhi signed with the Clippers and not Toronto or not the Lakers. But then no one asked the question, why didn't he sign with Toronto and the Lakers? Toronto had a fifth year. Toronto could have offered him more money. Yep. I know the Lakers was his team. Ain't nobody grew up rooting for the Clippers. Even if you lived in L.A., you rooted for the Lakers. No, nobody but Clipper Darrell. That's because they fan base with the Lakers fan base. Don't need any more fans. Don't need any more fans.
1:07:07Shannon Sharpe:RIP to middle school, high school, and college football players who have recently passed away. Yeah, it's sad. I read about this NFL player that tragically took his life today.
1:07:19Joe Johnson:They cussed me out. They cussed me out on Twitter because I just put the doves because of the reason on why he must have killed himself. I ain't know none of that. I just put the doves, you know, as in rest in peace, you know? I didn't do my homework on why he passed away.
1:07:37Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:07:38Joe Johnson:They going at me for saying, you know, for putting a little dove. I mean, I ain't know. I mean, what were you supposed to say?
1:07:42Shannon Sharpe:Ain't nothing you can do about me. I mean, he was dealing with some things. He said the demons, and he couldn't get over it, you know?
1:07:52Chad Johnson:Damn.
1:07:54Shannon Sharpe:they let me have it 30 million dollar finds for Steve Ballmer is like 30 cents for regular folks yeah you worth 170 something billion come on man
1:08:07Chad Johnson:that's his day come on man
1:08:10Shannon Sharpe:that's point 0.000 part 0.1 % of your net worth
1:08:21Shannon Sharpe:Uncle Dennis and Dijon Love at the same morning meetings.
1:08:26Chad Johnson:Oh, man. Hey, hey, hey.
1:08:28Shannon Sharpe:Who said that? Roadrun on line. Hey, that's a good one.
1:08:34Chad Johnson:Hey, they still bringing up different voice notes from that dude, man, that Dijon Love dude.
1:08:38Shannon Sharpe:Man, it's over now, man.
1:08:41Chad Johnson:Nah, they going to air him out. They airing him out. Oh, they airing him out.
1:08:44Shannon Sharpe:The LBI gonna air him out. They done scooped him now.
1:08:49Chad Johnson:Boy, that boy, hey, that was a mean scheme. That boy had going on, man.
1:08:52Shannon Sharpe:He had a nice little cheat code going on. Ooh. Hey, he was a trip, boy. Also, the Clippers couldn't win anything but ticket sales while cheating. That's the thing. That's what I'm telling Joe somebody. They got to go for it. Joe, they lost 10 first-round picks. and Shea, if you got one NBA title out of that, you say, you know what? It was worth it. Because considering they haven't had a championship team ever, so if you get one, you know what? It was all worth it. I'm sure Clipper Nation, whatever they call themselves, I'm sure they'd have been happy with that. But to not get anything out of it, and the guy that you did all this for that cost you all this he's not even there anymore
1:09:46Chad Johnson:yeah hey it it hurts but it was a point on okay ocho kawaii had it going on look if he don't get hurt in that phoenix series i think that's the year the phoenix went to the finals and remember they played uh uh the clippers in uh i don't know if that was the second round or the semis but kawaii hurt his knee and he didn't play no more after he i think they were up like 2-1 or something like that.
1:10:10Shannon Sharpe:He bumped his knee, yeah.
1:10:12Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. So I think they've had situations or opportunities to where they could have been, you know, at least been in the finals, competing for a championship, but the injuries just derailed them, bro.
1:10:28Shannon Sharpe:Oh, 27, 28, 29 picks already traded for PG, if I remember correctly. You're right. They don't have any first-round picks. They do now because they will have Toronto's Toronto's if I'm because they traded him for two first round picks and a pick swap and two second round picks and Grady Grady Richard
1:10:57Shannon Sharpe:so Kawhi made extra millions and only got five seven hundred thousand no suspension not a bad profit you absolutely that's what I'm saying he just nicked he ain't even Nick Kawhi. He Nick, what you call him?
1:11:11Joe Johnson:You don't think that $700 ,000 going to hurt?
1:11:13Shannon Sharpe:That man, come on. If the reports are true, $50 ,000,$80 ,000, maybe an extra$80 ,000 to$100 million. If somebody say, Ocho, I will give you $100 million. I will give you$50 million. You just got to write me a check for$700 ,000. You take it or leave it?
1:11:33Joe Johnson:I'm taking it.
1:11:37Shannon Sharpe:I mean, as reported, Joe, one of those things was like a$28,$30 million, and all he had to do was just show up. He didn't even show up.
1:11:45Chad Johnson:Boy, that sound like a – oh, he didn't? Boy, that sound like a sweet deal to me. That's my point. Hey, I would have signed up for that one too. I ain't going to lie to you. And I would have shown up. He'd have had me, boy.
1:11:57Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to show up. But the thing is, when you look at it, look at Kawhi's personality.
1:12:07Shannon Sharpe:That ain't Kawhi's personality gonna be in no meet and greet and sit down and chew the fat with people. That ain't high. He ain't whining like that. That ain't him. Right. Right. Right. If Aiso sneezed, he gonna rip out that shirt. Ocho, what kind of shirt, what size that is? Man, it's a small.
1:12:32Chad Johnson:It's a large.
1:12:33Shannon Sharpe:Hold on, Joe. Yo. He's trying to make yourself look big, huh? This man's six foot eight, 250 pounds, wearing a large?
1:12:41Chad Johnson:Yeah, my muscles ain't, I ain't bulky. I'm just like, you know, I got a nice little Man, get your 19 year old British shirt back.
1:12:49Shannon Sharpe:And tell him you sorry.
1:12:51Chad Johnson:You gotta chill. You gotta chill.
1:12:53Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, you just big bone, bro.
1:12:56Chad Johnson:Nah, nah, I ain't no damn big bone. I don't know what you got going on. Nah, I ain't big bone.
1:12:59Joe Johnson:I'm just saying, you not fat. You say you chubby. Nah. Hey Joe, I wear a large Joe. Man, get out of here.
1:13:09Chad Johnson:Don't wear no damn large hair.
1:13:11Joe Johnson:Joe don't make me come up out of this hoodie, man. I don't wanna, come on now.
1:13:15Chad Johnson:Yeah, don't do it, don't do it. You just ate six donuts and a Coke now, don't do it.

1:19:18Chad Johnson:damn
1:19:25Shannon Sharpe:what I wish I knew
1:19:36Chad Johnson:that's a good question boy
1:19:38Joe Johnson:I can't even remember 28 I ain't gonna sit here and hold you
1:19:44Shannon Sharpe:I wish
1:19:48Shannon Sharpe:I didn't think I had so much time
1:19:52Joe Johnson:that's a good one what movie is that
1:19:54Shannon Sharpe:Denzel said I wish you had more time and you do when you young man you think you're gonna live forever i do that man i do that man i woke up one day i was 40
1:20:13Shannon Sharpe:woke up the next day i was 50
1:20:18Chad Johnson:that's what it seemed like for real that's what it seemed like that's how fast it go that's how NBA career, NFL career.
1:20:32Joe Johnson:You look up, you're in year seven, he's like, well, God, dog, I just got drafted. Seemed like the other day. And life continues to pass us by. That's what I tell y 'all. Y 'all alive, but you're not living. So that's why I want y 'all to come outside your box a little bit and live a little bit before we get on the other side of the mountain.
1:20:52Chad Johnson:I'm living, man. I'm talking about, boy, listen, I'm having a funky good time. all right all right all right keep it real
1:21:02Shannon Sharpe:i'll just keep it in real we having a good time oh cho i got i'm with you i'm with you i mean
1:21:09Joe Johnson:y 'all having a good time but you you're not fulfilling the time that you here are that you have on earth i need you to fulfill everything so you leave nothing leave no no stone on turn yes sir
1:21:22Shannon Sharpe:I'll keep that I'll keep that in mind yeah but happy birthday Tommy I worked in a restaurant where everyone called me Ocho simply because I'm black and also my name Chan
1:21:38Shannon Sharpe:that'll do it
1:21:40Joe Johnson:yeah I mean anybody dog skin with a bald head I mean listen we all look alike man to somebody
1:21:47Shannon Sharpe:Kawhi and PG put that Dijon LeBraye love on Steve Ballman and the Clippers. Dang. Think about it. Fire everybody. Nah.
1:21:58Chad Johnson:Nah. It's just unfortunate, man. They swung for the fences trying to bring a championship to the Clippers franchise, and then they miss. It happens. Yeah, it happens.
1:22:12Shannon Sharpe:Big three love the show. Which is worse? Cleveland with Watts. Cleveland with Watts contract Watts contract you mean Pittsburgh with Watts contract Clippers with Kawhi Trey maybe both should change their name does he mean Pittsburgh Cleveland with Watts contract
1:22:38Chad Johnson:he's saying Cleveland with Watson's contract oh yeah
1:22:42Shannon Sharpe:okay Watson you're right you're right
1:22:49Shannon Sharpe:Watson
1:22:54Chad Johnson:that's the you think that's the worst one
1:22:57Joe Johnson:probably of all time yeah they do give up three first round picks
1:23:04Shannon Sharpe:look where those picks turned out to be CJ Stroud Will Anderson Nikon Collins
1:23:17Chad Johnson:and all that guaranteed money.
1:23:19Shannon Sharpe:That's the thing. It's close, though, because they gave up Shea, and Shea won a championship.
1:23:27Chad Johnson:Two-time MVP.
1:23:29Shannon Sharpe:Now, if the Texans won a championship, but I still think the thing is that at least Kawhi had them in contention. If Kawhi could have stayed healthy, I agree with you, Joe. to see what they could have been had he stayed healthy for the entire season. But since Watson been there, they ain't been close.
1:23:55Oh,
1:24:00Shannon Sharpe:could you wish my six-year-old Kylie happy birthday? Back though, I saw you at Spencers getting them toys. That don't make you no bad brother. Joe, you was at Spencers.
1:24:13Chad Johnson:Joe, why you ain't telling you was at Spencers, boy? Man, somebody lied on me.
1:24:17Shannon Sharpe:No, no, nobody lied on you. Ha ha ha, Joe.
1:24:20Chad Johnson:Nah, Joe.
1:24:20Shannon Sharpe:Joe, you like seven feet, Joe.
1:24:24Chad Johnson:If that man seen me at Spencers, he took a damn picture, OK? He want to blow your spot up. Yeah, but if I was, I wouldn't deny it. If I was, I'd go in there and find something for my lady now.
1:24:37Joe Johnson:Hey, Joe, listen to me. it don't make you no bad brother
1:24:44Joe Johnson:that's my dog I'm glad you listened to me my boy
1:24:48Shannon Sharpe:happy 6th birthday hope you got a big old life size Barbie I don't even know what you get 6 year old anymore I guess Barbie used to be the big thing
1:25:03Chad Johnson:6 year old Yeah, my little one finna be five, bro. I don't know neither, huh? Yeah.
1:25:13Shannon Sharpe:Cowboys versus Rams, NFC Championship game. Remember I told you first, Keith, gonna have to watch while braiding hair in the pen.
1:25:26Shannon Sharpe:Ocho called me deuce of the quarter, cause if that's got four walls in the place, shit, I'm going in. That don't make me no bad brother.
1:25:38Shannon Sharpe:Man. Must be Ocho homeboy for real. What's up, Big Three? What made you go? President, we need the National Guard. We need as many men as you can spare because we are killing the Patriots in 96. Also, could you shout out my best friend, Royal? Royal, your homie want to give you a shout out. What made me do it? Because the Patriots fans would be annoyed like a lot of times they are. Yeah. Talking about Ben Coles was better than me. We beat the brakes off him too, Joe. I think we were beating them like 31-7. Yeah. Yeah, they had them pulled us out. You know, I caught me a couple of passes. I didn't really do too much.
1:26:14Shannon Sharpe:I was disappointed. I wanted to do a little bit more. But they couldn't stop TD from running the damn football. So we beat the brakes off him. They got the last laugh, though. They got the last little laugh because they ended up going to the Super Bowl. They was glad Jacksonville beat us because they knew they weren't going to beat us.
1:26:32Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah.
1:26:35Shannon Sharpe:Ocho you baby and Cam Ward
1:26:42Chad Johnson:baby yeah keep it a bean
1:26:49Shannon Sharpe:no he ain't baby
1:26:51Joe Johnson:man what they what y 'all be talking about
1:26:57Shannon Sharpe:if you had a chance in your career to play with your brother in Green Bay would you have done it Well, they tried to trade for me in 99, but I ended up breaking my collarbone and the trade didn't go through. Nah, I didn't want to play with him.
1:27:10Joe Johnson:That would have been dope, right?
1:27:12Shannon Sharpe:Nah, not when they're throwing him 140 balls. He getting 140 targets, and I'm getting 65-70. But with you there, that would have changed. No, it wouldn't. You see how Jerry cut all those balls, no matter who was on the opposite side of him, until he got late in his career.
1:27:36Shannon Sharpe:Shout out to the GOAT Dr. Frankie and all the women on here. All these psyops and bad media trying to pit us against each other. To all y 'all men, keep your head up, baby. Sending love from Australia. Yeah, we cool. We ain't going against each other. It's crazy to tie next time the Clippers can use their first round pick. A kid in middle school currently. Yep.
1:28:06Shannon Sharpe:I'm about to start trash talking. Treadwell worth the filet-le. Nah, I didn't know, though. I didn't realize he had been in the league 11 years. This is his 11th season, Ocho. I did not know that.
1:28:20Joe Johnson:Hey, I didn't either, honestly. Year five, I understand. Year four, you know, really early. but at this point like I mean come on man what we doing
1:28:35Shannon Sharpe:what we doing Ocho
1:28:38Joe Johnson:I don't know I don't know
1:28:43Shannon Sharpe:cause I thought like I said I thought the practice squad was to develop a player player level years in I don't know to each his own yeah Ocho I'll give you$5 if you spell perseverance perseverance
1:29:04Joe Johnson:perseverance P-E-R-S-E-R V-E-N-C-E send me my money
1:29:12Shannon Sharpe:no Ocho you were doing so good per se P-E-R-S-E variance V-E-R-A-N-C-E that's exactly what I just said
1:29:28Shannon Sharpe:if it was up to you would you increase the salary cap and add coaching to the staff do it how would you change the game well i would add two by weeks even in the current schedule extending extending the uh the nfl season a week i don't think anybody's gonna be ticked off i would add i would add let you have instead of 46 i would let them take it to 49 49 50 active on game day.
1:29:57Joe Johnson:I like that idea.
1:30:05Shannon Sharpe:Day one listener, first time baller. It was a hurricane in Houston. Y 'all boys stay safe. We need nightcap. Now that thing's supposed to be done blown out by the time we get down there. Hello. You know, we bring number sunshine.

1:30:40Joe Johnson:no what i didn't hear that i didn't know that he just played tyreek trolling people come on man the man playing around
1:30:51Chad Johnson:as i'm gonna say i know that man ain't ran no damn fortune
1:30:56Shannon Sharpe:hell no i don't think he ran a five two
1:31:01Shannon Sharpe:who was more dominant michael jordan or tom brady
1:31:10Chad Johnson:mj yeah
1:31:16Chad Johnson:See, it's different in basketball because one man can change the – Yeah. Can control the whole damn game. I ain't saying Tom can't, but the way MJ played both ends of the court, he played offense and defense. And he was tops on both ends. I think that's the biggest difference.
1:31:35Shannon Sharpe:I agree. I agree. So, what Uncle don't know about PWI has brought the HBCUs to the step show?
1:31:49Shannon Sharpe:No, he didn't. Y 'all can't do it like we do. Bet you can't do it like us, nope.
1:31:55Chad Johnson:Okay, show me, show me, I wanna see it. I wanna see it, show me, you got to show me.
1:31:59Shannon Sharpe:Oh, we gonna do that thing, we gonna do it up.
