2:33So, man.

2:34Shannon Sharpe:Woo-wee. That's crazy. During the latest episode of Hard Knocks, Derek Hall got a bit too close to Sam Donald during the training camp drill. Mike McDonald wasn't pleased, and then Hall did it again. McDonald told Hall, you can complain all the F you want. You can all you want, but it turns out I'm running the F in practice. and guess what? He took him out of practice and he was doing all that. Godly, man, what? You know what? You're doing all that in practice when it matters most at 1 o 'clock in front of that 12 man I always do the same thing. Oh yeah, he can ball now. I'm just saying. That's what you needed to show up.

3:17We know what you can do. Ain't no need to show it in practice and hurt your quarterback by accident. You ain't proving nothing. I know you want to show it on film. Get through there, make your move, and duck off to the side.

3:30Shannon Sharpe:Thank you. Duck off to the side and get out of the way. Hey. Man, see. We got to call practice off in Cleveland, because them dum-dums don't know that you're not supposed to hit the quarterback. That man out there fighting for his life, man. He trying to get him a job. OK. That's the quickest way to the waiver wire. Hurt that quarterback.

3:56Shannon Sharpe:But it's simple. I mean, I don't know how y 'all did it, but in the NFL, every team I've ever been on, every coach I've had, they yell and scream. If anybody got within two, three feet of the quarterback. He too valuable. They're going to see it on film. They're going to see you got there, you beat the guy. Just be smart.

4:19Shannon Sharpe:Ashton Jente left practice today with an apparent injury and was helped off the field by trainers. Gente was reportedly unable to put weight on his leg after diving for a ball and landing awkwardly. We just got an update a few minutes ago. Gente is believed to have a sprained ankle. The Raiders are unsure how long he'll be out, but it's not considered a long-term injury. The organization is breathing a sigh of relief. Raiders declined commentate with Gente's injury. If he can't play week one, Ochoa, how big of a loss is this? I mean, it's a huge loss. It's a huge loss, especially for Kirk Cousins.

4:57Because for one, for Kirk Cousins, you have adequate receivers. You have decent receivers. You have an elite tight end in Brock Bowers. But some of the pressure will be taken off you having Ashton Gentry back there in the backfield and being able to hand it off to him and him take most of the offense on his shoulders. Him not being able to go week one, it'll be a big blow. It'll be a huge blow, actually. Yeah.

5:20Shannon Sharpe:I think it'll be tough but I do think the rookie Mike Washington Jr. has shown some promise, Uncle Ocho. I ain't saying he gonna come. You like him, huh? Yeah, yeah. I ain't saying he gonna come out there and give. He's in Arkansas, Joe. Ocho. Hey, chill. Don't let him fool you. Uncle, you gotta chill. But I'm calling a spade a spade. The man done played his ass off in this preseason. He deserves an opportunity. One man go down, it's another man's opportunity. Hey, bro, step up to the plate. Hey. Man. Man, hey, look here. The dude out there from Arkansas, he be running his route backwards. Joe's like, man, hey, he got all pro potential now.

5:57Shannon Sharpe:What, they get him turned around, Ocho? Hey, hey, listen. But while y 'all playing, though, he really got an opportunity. No, he did. He ran hard. He got an opportunity to really do so special. So, we'll see what happens. How long Gentry going to be out? I don't know. They say he couldn't put no pressure on it, so we'll just have to wait and see. But the thing is, okay, you got this week. You got the bye week. So he really have three weeks to get ready unless it's a high ankle sprain. If it's just a regular ankle sprain, he should be fine. But hold on. Now, if he had to go a whole week, he can't put no pressure.

6:35Shannon Sharpe:He can't do nothing. Getting back to that point is going to be tough. It's going to take more than a couple weeks. Hey, look, he a small dude, but he's like, he a little. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He built like a boatboat. Dick name, Joker. They put him in that non-baron tank. You know how they put him in that non-baron tank? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, before you do it like, oh damn, I don't feel that bad. Get him on the bike and let him get some cardio. Because the thing is, it's not so much you don't know the plays or things like that. It's your conditioning. Yeah, yeah. Man, you be bloated.

7:07Shannon Sharpe:It don't take you about a couple days for your conditioning to be, that thing be. I'm talking about a hit. Yeah. You look up, boy, you be breathing so hard. Come on, man. It don't take long. And the thing is, he's going to have to stay healthy. And like you said, Joe, he's a smaller guy. That's why people are really afraid of smallish backs because of the physical pounding that they take. And especially if your team isn't very good, they're going to hand you the ball a bunch. Your offensive line isn't very good. You're getting hit in the backfield before you can even get started. You're already taking punishment.

7:46Shannon Sharpe:So, I hope the young man's okay because I think he has a promising career. But he didn't actually go to the team that's best suited to help him have a long, prosperous career. That's what happens when you go early. So, what you thinking? You think he missed the first game? Anybody thinking he missed the first game? If it's a high ankle sprain, he's definitely missing the first game. yeah he has he has two weeks so he got to September 9th right yeah he got September 10th is a 9th is a Thursday the 10th is a Friday the 11th what the 12th oh nah he gonna play he good yeah he gonna be alright especially if you use my remedy yeah I don't know we gonna see you said yeah I don't say the man couldn't put no pressure on it yeah hey Joe that's like almost two weeks Oh, Joe, you know you first turned an ankle.

8:39Shannon Sharpe:That thing real tender. Yeah. But after a while, they put the tape on there, they put you in a boot, get you in there, get you walking, that warm water hit it. Yeah. They start giving you that stem, start doing exercises. He ain't even got to do all that. Man, he ain't one of them little scat bags. He a little power runner, too. Now, he ain't cut hard. That man ain't. Yeah. All right. He got time to get ready, Joe. All right. We're going to see. He's going to play week one because it's almost two weeks, huh? The question is, the question, based on what you've seen from Mendoza, is Mendoza going to start over Cousins or is that Cousins taking it from?

9:21Shannon Sharpe:No. No. No. No. Do not throw that boy out there to the Sharks. I'm with you on this one. No. Yeah. No. I don't see Mendoza starting. I see them starting off with Kirk Cousins. But at some point, we'll definitely see a heavy dose of Mendoza.

9:46Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, look, I think it's going to be hard-pressed for them to win a bunch of games anyway because they're not the most talented team. They don't have anything that really, other than Max Crosby and Brock Bowers, they don't really have anything that jumps off the screen at you like, oh, God, he's a must-have. Yeah. Brock Bowers and Crosby, yeah, for sure. But other than that, those guys leave a lot to be desired. So even with Jente in the lineup, I think it's going to be a struggle for them to win a bunch of games. And let alone games. But like you said, if Mike Davis is what you believe he is, Joe, and he plays, okay, maybe we'll have something we can play action off of it.

10:27Shannon Sharpe:We can run the ball with him, play action off of it, and hit some plays down the field. But that's going to be very, very interesting to see if Jente can't go week one. Hey, man, the Raiders, I don't think we expect too much out of the Raiders, especially in the AFC West with them damn Chargers, Chiefs, and Broncos. Hell, I don't expect to. They ain't going to raise too much damn hell, you know, this season. I don't see that. Now, I think they will have some bright spots, but that division too tough, bro. Yeah. Quarterback play is really, really good in that division. You got Mahomes, you got Herbert, and you got Bo Nix.

11:06Shannon Sharpe:And the defenses, really good, especially the Broncos. Christian McCaffrey says his two-week absence from 49er practice was playing low management and not a hold-in, as some assume. Let's take a listen. You've been around long enough. You know how this goes. If you don't practice, there's panic in the streets and things like that. Can you just walk us through the last couple weeks how much you're just kind of managing training to get to week one and what your process was like? Yeah, you know, obviously you don't practice, you know, the way the way the media works now is firestorm. But, you know, this was kind of part of the plan from the jump was to ramp up pretty big, get 9-10 practices in, kind of come back down and then ramp back up so we're fresh for the duration.

11:52So, you know, our staff's done a great job of kind of coming up with specific plans. And, you know, again, I feel great. So, you know, I feel fresh and it's good to be back out there.

12:04Hey.

12:05Shannon Sharpe:You believe him? Who believes him? Hey, it sounds good the way you put it. I mean, it sounds good the way you put it. Yeah, you say, hey, we go hard the first nine to ten days, back down and then back. And then ramp back up. Guess what happened that ninth or tenth day? What happened? B. John Robinson got a big contract. Jameer Gibbs got a big contract. Jonathan Taylor got a big contract. Yeah. Happened about the ninth or tenth day. Yeah. Hey, it's funny how that works, huh? Yeah. Yeah, he's probably going to get it. He's probably going to get it. You know, I'm not sure where he is on the list of running backs that are being paid.

12:39I'm sure he probably may be five or six, especially with those that have gotten paid just now. But with him being such an intricate part of that offense, I can see them adding a little bit of money, a little bit of taking money on the back end.

12:51Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Front loading it, you know, and assign a bonus just to keep him happy. Yeah, I can see that too, Ocho. But there was a stretch there. He was the highest paid running back for about five years straight. Oh, yeah. Because he made 16. He was making 16 million when nobody else could even touch that number. Because what happened was they gave Zeke that$15 million contract, Joe, and they watched him step off a clip. And so they got really, really leery about paying any other running back, letting them approach that number. They kept the running backs around 10, 11, 12 for the longest time. And Mack was 16, 16, 16, 16.

13:24Shannon Sharpe:Then he jumped to 19. and then here comes Saquon and got a little 20 by 20 and a half and now you see Bijan Robinson you see Jameer Gibbs, you see Jonathan Taylor they get on up there as well so we're going to find out normally

13:46Shannon Sharpe:I didn't hear the coaches say anything about no load management I didn't hear anything about yeah they showed what it came out and said something Yeah, normally they say, well, he's going to be, especially because he's not coming off an injury. If he's coming off an injury, that's one thing. And they'll say, look, we're going to be careful with him. He's coming off an injury, had surgery this offseason, coming off a serious injury last season. So we'll see how this thing plays out. But we know what he can do. That is true. And also, veterans do have their days. Yes. Vets have their days. Now, especially at the running back position, maybe they do treat up a different day.

14:24But not consecutive days. hey hey I was

14:29Shannon Sharpe:I was I was a vet at one point in time and I had more years than what what C. Mike got now now granted obviously the TD was really limited on Wednesdays but in training camp nah it wasn't no and and Kyle got all his everything he does he got it from Mike everything I'm not talking about some of the things everything thing. And I'm sure Mike, you know, Mike is still advising him. And rightfully so. What?

15:04Shannon Sharpe:I guarantee you he'd have been back out there practicing if he got that money. Yeah, it don't make C-Mac no bad, bro. No, it don't make it no bad, bro. No.

15:16Shannon Sharpe:I did not know this until late this afternoon. The sports world honored the late Kobe Bryant, who would have been 48 years young today. Just in case y 'all forgot, he's a five-time NBA champion, a two-time finals MVP, a one-time league MVP, 15-time All-NBA selection, 18-time NBA All-Star, two-time scoring champ. Joe, what's your favorite memory of Kobe being Bryant? My favorite memory of Kobe? Man, it would have to be in the Hurricane I forgot the hurricane that came to Houston, bro, some odd years ago. I think they were like 2005, Uncle Ocho. We had a hurricane relief game in Houston, and he came down and played in it.

16:04Shannon Sharpe:And I remember riding in the van with him, and I can't remember who it was. It was probably about eight of us in this van, and he was sitting in the back. They was like, yeah, man, we're going to come out. We're going to have a little fun to put on a little show for the fans. Kobe stopped him right in the street. He's like, hell no, we're going to kick their ass tonight. we finna win we i'm saying i'm looking out i'm like damn just a relief game we did we did i'm like it's just a relief game but that's how he was bro like he had a competitive spirit about him and he did he never turned it off man he never turned it off to be in a relief game to be able to come out and compete at the highest level i felt that's how he you know wanted to repay the fans you know just by putting on the show but that's who he was bro that's who he was Yeah, that's why he's competitive all the time.

16:52Shannon Sharpe:I didn't have a whole lot of conversation with Kobe. I was at an event for Quincy Jones, and we talked for about 15, 20 minutes. And, you know, and I just remember asking him, I said, bro, you don't even seem like you missed the NBA, bro. I said, bro, for you to be as competitive as you are, you don't miss it at all? He's like, nah. He says, the same fire that I had for the NBA and at my craft is now directed towards the movies, animation. He said, plus I got the girls. You know, hey, I'm a girl dad. I love being a girl dad. But he said, my focus is just on something else. The same fire, the same passion that I had for my game when I played in the NBA is I have that same burning desire now.

17:36Shannon Sharpe:And, you know, we talked and I, you know, dapped him up and, you know, I said, man, best of luck. And that was it. And then that December, before he ended up passing away, I was DMing him, you know, talking about some shoes, those PlayStation, those PlayStation Air Force 1s, Joe. Yeah, yeah. I said, man, I need to, hey, bro, you need, I said, if I don't get me a pair of them shoes, man, I'm gonna be upset at you. So he takes me back like, question mark. I said, PlayStation Air Force 1. He like, he sent me the crying, laughing emoji. I said, man, I need to get those. He like, all right. But it's just sad.

18:10Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. It's just so sad. My favorite Kobe moment, I had two of them. One, Kobe got me. I think I was playing. I think CJ, my oldest son, he's 23 now. I think he might have been six. I just didn't ask the picture. I don't know if they could put the picture up. Kobe got me and my son court-sized seats to the Laker game. I'm sitting on one side. My son is sitting next to me. George Lopez is on one side. Denzel's on the other side. There you go right there. Look, my son 23, 24 now. So this is how long ago this was. Kobe signed the jersey for my son, man. We sitting across the side. He got me tickets.

18:47I was able to enjoy the game. You know, he got a chance to meet all the players back then, man. For me, that was a great moment. That was a great moment understanding how great Kobe was. And he was so serious, Joe. He was, bro. You know how I am, how I'm playful. And, hey, what's up, man? I mean, straight face, no nothing, no smile. What's up? I said, thank you. He just shook his head. He didn't even, damn, they didn't even speak. you know i'm like well god damn okay no is it that shit and now now having a better understanding you know um to how he conducts himself when it comes to the game of basketball because you got to think when i was playing and my son was that little i ain't watch basketball yeah i didn't know so i didn't know that's the way he carried himself and so i didn't take it uh you know to offense but that that was that was really dope for him to get me courtside and for my son to be able to experience you know watching colby you know that they're damn in his prime and then obviously the other the other picture i showed you me and kobe at news cafe having lunch and this is when i was acting a fool trying to get out the bangles huh remember yeah i was trying to get trying to get traded he was like man that's that's not how you do that that's not how you conduct yourself and uh he got he got on my head man a good hour a good a good hour of lashing out and man he's so smart man very methodical very strategic in the way he did things and the way he carried himself i i I couldn't move like that.

20:09I'm too friendly. I'm too sociable. He's really closed off to everybody.

20:15Shannon Sharpe:Hey, one thing I love about him, though, Uncle Ocho, his ass came to compete every night. I ain't going to lie to you. I made sure I got plenty of rest a night before I played his ass because I know he's going to try to embarrass you. You know what I'm saying? So you're going to always get his best game. So, man, listen, I enjoyed the battles and matchups that I had against him. I tried to make his ass work as hard as I could, and vice versa, man. We had some great back and forth throughout our years playing against each other. And there's a guy who I idolize, bro. Just like MJ, just like Penny, guy 6 '6", 6 '7", who can do a little bit of everything, Uncle Ocho.

20:55Shannon Sharpe:I gravitated toward those dudes when I was young coming up in high school, bro. Just wanted to be one of those type of guys who could do a multitude of things on the court. 30:44Shannon Sharpe:Ennis Cantor was ejected from tonight's Indiana-Chicago WNBA game after Natasha Cloud yelled and pointed in his direction late in the third quarter. Chicago coach Tyler Marr said after the game, if you come to a game, you should probably come to enjoy the basketball, and seems pretty simple to me. I think these players deserve that and have earned that. Joe, what you thinking? You think he went there with that purpose to agitate? What other reason would he be going to the games? He probably ain't never been to no WNBA game. Didn't he go there just to be the agitator, just to cause ruckus, just to make the headlines?

31:20Shannon Sharpe:Come on, bro. What we doing? I got a question. Enos Cantor, what was he doing? What was he saying? What does he do? I knew he was a former basketball player. Well, remember he talking about he's eligible for the WNBA draft, so he going to go play in the WNBA? That's who started that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What we doing, man? Huh? Man say he gonna go try and try for the WNBA, bro. Hey, Rage Bay, then he gonna run the Fox. Then he gonna run the Fox News and talk about, see, this is what I'm talking about. They're not inclusive. They don't wanna, they wanna have their cake and eat it too, and yada, yada, yada, yada, yada.

32:06Shannon Sharpe:If you were good, you'd still be in the NBA. So he wasn't good when he played? No, that's why he's not playing. His own home country don't want him back. Yeah, yeah. Hold on, hold on, hold on. For a minute, though, he was solid, Uncle Ocho. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He wasn't no damn superstar, nothing like that, Ocho. But he was a good role player. Yeah, great. Yeah, he was a good role player. But to be pulling this stunt that he pulling, I don't understand why. Like, is it because of the transgender rights? Yes. and he thinking that I'm going to really test him and see what the hell they're going to do.

32:43Shannon Sharpe:He must be a political activist in a sense. I think the thing was, Joe, is that he was a solid role player but then he started having these beliefs and these talking points that the league's like, bro, you're not that good. Yeah. You ain't Kyrie. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. In order to be talking like you're talking, you need to be a star. And then if you're a superstar, we're going to look the other way, but you're not even that. You're absolutely right. And I think all this kind of transpired right when COVID hit, when they were making guys take them COVID shots. If you couldn't take them down COVID shots, then you can't play.

33:20Shannon Sharpe:You know what I mean? So it's been an uproar ever since then, and it's kind of seemed like for whatever reason, he's come back around, and I just don't get it, bro. I don't understand what's the logic behind this. Joe, we had those same rules at Fox. We couldn't go in the building If you didn't get a COVID shot, you couldn't come in the building. Yeah. Okay. If you didn't get tested, we got tested three times a week. If you refuse to test, you can't come in the building. Damn. It was really that simple. Either you want to work or you don't. Damn. I remember you couldn't go to school. You had to get certain vaccinations.

34:01Shannon Sharpe:Measles, mumps, depteria. You had to get those shots before you go to school. It wasn't no way I don't want to get them. Well, you ain't going. Yeah. That's how it was. Yeah. Okay, fine. Man, people just want their 15 minutes of fame and just going to just carry on and carry on, carry on. Like, bro.

34:25Shannon Sharpe:I don't get it. I don't get it. And then you wear the T-shirt knowing that you're going to enrage people. I just don't get his angle. But hey, like I said, as his last name says freedom, he believes in freedom and all this other stuff. Come on, man.

34:48Shannon Sharpe:I just, I don't know. I guess we just agree to disagree. And that's okay. You're tripping.

35:00Shannon Sharpe:If I went viral for growing my beard, WNBA Hall of Famer is going viral for shaving his off. check out this new look guys

35:18Shannon Sharpe:that way heart booty booty face head ass boy why did you say they gonna think you have plastic surgery bro the way way with the laughing emoji uh carmelo come on champ i thought you was posting a throwback Thursday. I ain't know that. I mean, listen, it's a good thing.

36:07Because, you know, everybody, you know, the women, they been going crazy about you, man. Man, ain't their man. Ain't their man. They been going crazy. Everywhere I've been. I went to Mojo Brooks last night. You know, they ain't even speaking to me. They're like, hey, where Unk at?

36:19Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Hey, where Unk at? That's what they ask me every time I go somewhere. Man, where Ocho? I'm doing a LaPorte answer. Y 'all want me to bring Ocho to sign y 'all bottle too? Damn. The whole building yesterday. You know, man, where Ocho? Man, what you mean? He way in Vegas. Anything you want me to tell him? Hey, tell him I'm free for dinner.

36:45Hey Joe, where you going for breakfast in the morning? You ain't shade that thing off.

36:48Shannon Sharpe:In the morning? Yeah, I lay in at nine o 'clock, 9 a.m. What you in Atlanta for? Doing, there's a spelling. Oh yeah, that thing with... With DC Youngply. Yeah, DC. Yeah, yeah. What's that? What y 'all doing? I'm gonna win that for y 'all. It's a game show, DC. A game show? Like, you gotta, it's about spelling. You know, I'm gonna represent us right now. Oh, okay.

37:18Hey, come on, now it was spelling B Champ. Three times, state spelling B Champ in high school.

37:24Shannon Sharpe:We saw that Spellocinco was going. Look at the, hold on. Hey, Joe, he giving me words, man, come on. Are you the words of kids be spelling? Nah, they're trained. They trained for that year round. You say you went to Harvard? Yeah, for only one semester. That's four weeks, Joe. That's plenty of time. You got to think, I was a finance major. Hey, Joe, that's plenty of time for you to flunk out. You know, I was a finance major, though.

37:58Finance? Yeah. Why do you think I'm so good with my money, man? And handling it and moving, you know? Yeah, that's what I do.

38:05Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, because you don't pay back your debt. I do, I do. Wait, can you bring me that 50, 900? I'ma need it. Hey, let me tell you something. This is why you shouldn't feel bad. Not only do I owe you, I owe Sally Mae three grand for when I was at Langston. Sally Mae ain't got hers either. So if she been patient, you know, you can wait another 20. and they may gonna tell you they may gonna tell you how long you need to wait for your money how patient you need to be damn i'm just i'm using that as an analogy i'm not saying he really got the weight i'm just saying that she's waited that long your credit that's why salibate got your credit jacked up being no not really i'm a 740 right now that ain't bad i'm a 740.

38:49hey see mccreddy you know how you know how i play the game on him joe yeah oh when i change my name I ain't really Chad Johnson the most of the credit shot up. See? I got him good, bro.

39:05Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah. I mean, I got a little, I don't want to brag on you, but it's a little 846. Yeah. God damn. Hold on, it go past 800? 850. What you be doing? Paying my bills on time. Hey, but listen, I pay my bills on time, even though they be low as hell. Ain't 50? You know what? So sometimes when you have like credit cards, sometimes, you know, you have like a 30 ,000, you pay that thing off. They're like, okay. No, they dock you if you do that. You're not supposed to pay it for all the way off. No, no, no, no, no, no. American Express, you got to pay that every month. You can't, they don't want no payments.

39:51Shannon Sharpe:You got to know what credit card you get before you start making a payment plan. American Express ain't one of them ones that you make a payment plan on. Right. I'm trying to, you know, hey, Joe, my credit cards, my max, boy, 5 ,000. I don't want nothing over that. Fact. Oh, no, no, no, I gotta have more than that. Oh, no, oh, no. No, absolutely not. Oh, yeah, yeah. You don't, hey, they be calling, hey, Mr. Sharp, is this you? Yes, B, because you've never had a purchase like this before. hey i don't like that boy my limit five grand joe hey five grand how many credit cards you got two four well that's 20 grand damn yeah and i don't go over um i don't even you i don't even spend five thousand a month i i don't well i got all all my bills on mine so you know Wait, you got it on automatic pay?

Hey, like Bill. Hey, you know he got a show called Nightcap. Let's cut the power. Let's cut his internet service.

41:31Shannon Sharpe:Man. That was the last. Man, that'd be, man, that'd be. Hey, I wanna see how y 'all do it, boy. Hey, I like to see it come in, but I hate to see it go out, boy. Oh, for sure. Oh my God. I can't even order that to take. But you tell me Ocho, I gotta enjoy myself. Yeah. What happened to that? You told me I wasn't enjoying myself. Oh man, you don't do nothing. You don't go nowhere. You don't do nothing. So I had to get, I got me a little, got me a little, my little Birkin. I got that for my vacation. Yeah. I didn't take no vacation. Hold on. You got a Birkin for vacation and we ain't been nowhere.

42:07Shannon Sharpe:I got it because I had money set aside for the vacation. But you still ain't take it. I didn't take it. So I brought the Birkin. Okay. So I can't take it now. Hey, you gonna wear that thing to Houston? Yeah, you know. Okay, okay. Okay. Hey Joe, I'm gonna have his Birkin, right? I'm gonna have on my cowboy boots, but wait till you see these Levi's. 42:42Shannon Sharpe:You turn your pants inside out and do it like that? Or you - Nah, I lay it sideways. I don't turn it inside out. Cause then they'll mess up the crease when you try to flip it back over. First of all, you don't know how to iron no pants. Oh, you have seams down, bottom leg, iron the bottom leg first. Yeah, from bottom to top, huh? What you talking about? Yeah. Yeah. But see, I iron the bottom, then I flip that thing over, and hit that bottom right on top of the - Yeah, yeah. Inside bottom, outside bottom, inside top, inside top, outside top. Say, hey, when you take them things off, they stand up on their own, honey man.

52:45Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I know Sandra Bullock. I gotta see the other ones, I ain't gonna lie to y 'all. charlie charlie staring is gorgeous she's beautiful she's a little thin you know yeah

Ooh. that's real that's real it was a true story yes you can look it up I should watch that tonight let me see hold on y 'all Deshaun didn't have a problem with the booing his problem with the fans cheering when he got hurt come on guys listen what I said I said I'm not excusing the fans for booing him they shouldn't boo anybody whether he is home or away.

54:42Shannon Sharpe:But they were booing Deshaun even before he got hurt. Deshaun's problem is he doesn't feel that the Cleveland family, the Cleveland Browns fan base, embraced him when he arrived.

54:59Shannon Sharpe:That is my guess. No, I understand. Because he said he did have a problem with it because the guy asked him. They booed him. He said, yeah, but they booed me. It's more personal than that. He said, because they booed me when I got hurt, and that ain't got nothing to do with my plate. Yeah, yeah. Todd Monkey came back and said, they basically said, well, we haven't given them a whole lot to cheer for. Yeah. Dang. Hey, Unc, I don't see you, Unc. What's the name of the show? You don't see Ali Wuornos? E-I-L-E-E-N, Wuornos. she's been she's been like a a a a a a a oh it's about monster yes oh I saw that monster ball monster the one with the dude under the bed yeah well she was really pale in the movie yeah but she was yes yeah but that's how I only worn off look yeah she was really pale I saw that okay I saw that I'll be I'm watching them serial killers now.

56:05Shannon Sharpe:Oh yeah, yeah. I wrote a report, man. Hey, come to criminal justice, that's all I was writing on. Arthur Shawcross, Theodore Bundy, or Chickaletto, Chickatello, the Russians. Oh yeah, that's all I wrote on. Damn.

56:25Shannon Sharpe:I did, that's all I wrote on. Well, hey, hey, hey. I'm on it too. So you must watch all that A &E stuff, killer couples and all. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But I used to read on like with Ted Bundy and Arthur Shawcross and all those guys, Son of Sam Berkowitz, yeah. You, Uncle, you watch Snap sometimes? I do. I do. Hey, hey, you know what you used to get me when I was young, that damn Unsolved Mysteries, dude voice, when he come on that night. You already know it's gonna be something good, yeah. Oh, man, listen.

57:07Shannon Sharpe:What's the freeway? Edmund Kemper, the co-ed killer. Big Ed, 6 '8", 300 pounds. He's 8 '300"? It was a brother. He wasn't a brother. Right. Right, right. Hey, like Bernie Mac said, you ain't never known a black terrorist It's a day of your damn life. Where you gonna get the dynamite from?

57:37Shannon Sharpe:Oh, don't wanna give up the plug for them graphic tees, but that don't make you no bad brother. They got them at Target. Spider-Man, Spider-Man. They got graphic tees at Target. And maybe not the ones Unkwell, but I get them a little graphic tees at Target. Nobody knows who you are. Hey, hey. Hey, hey. 2 for 20. Come on electric company. Hey, hold on. Hey, damn, when are we getting our own nightcap graphic team? Yeah. All right, we'll put something together. We get it right there. All right, that's what I'm talking about. I need my shirt, man. I need my shirt. They say, man, that don't make you no bad, brother.

58:15You know, I'm telling you, that's going to be the first thing to set out.

58:18Shannon Sharpe:About five minutes. Ocho, we expect more from you. Iso be doing ads. He be having his nightcap side on. Ocho, the room for advancement at his job. Man, why they say that on you about that? He said that he's going to get it plugged up. He's going to get the wall. I guess he's going to have to put some brown around it so you can see the contrast. Hey, Uncle Joe in chat. Y 'all lay around now. Hey, you're going to be excited. I'm going to come on here one day. and I'm ahead of camera, right? The new camera, the whole new set I'm doing is where I can move. You know how I like getting up, the camera gonna follow me everywhere.

59:01Like I can go this way, I can come over this way. Hey.

59:04Shannon Sharpe:Everything on the road. So you had a camera be rotating, huh? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hold on, because I need y 'all to be able to see all the dimensions of the room. Because my whole room, the whole room is gonna be NICAP related. Yeah. Not just the sign. I'm talking about pictures of Joe, pictures of Unc. You know, when y 'all played, oh man. Y 'all gonna be like, okay, this boy, he might've waited, might've took a long time, but boy, would he put up there? You know, it's, hey, I'm telling you, y 'all gonna be proud of me now. All right. Yeah, and don't cry, don't cry.

59:39Shannon Sharpe:J-Dub from Akron asks, oh, if somebody broke into your house, stole your whole Sparks collection, who you taking to get it back? Bruce Leroy, Leroy, Leo, Roley, or Ocho? You can only pick one. Leo. Leo. Hey. Give my boy his stuff back. I know you got it.

1:00:03Shannon Sharpe:Don't make me. Hey, that story was classic, bro. Cause that's all he talked about with Rufus. I'm gonna roof on you. I promise you that.

1:00:18Shannon Sharpe:Would Munkin be on the hot seat either way? start Watson and lose the start or lose the better QB against the front office. He ain't going against the front office. That's it in the foremost. Yeah. But I think, you know, they're going to take that into account. I'm leaning towards Shadour and I can see a scenario where they move on from Deshaun. Thanks. That's what I think is going to happen. Ocho is just the opposite.

1:00:51Shannon Sharpe:nightcap please wish my oldest daughter Madison a happy 10th birthday she has a rare genetic mutation ZNF 292 which causes neurological and GI issues but is hilarious brave strong and amazing absolutely Madison happy 10th birthday hopefully with the advancement of medicine we can get this thing figured out and she can live a normal healthy happy life but to hear you say that she's hilarious brave and strong we're glad to hear that that she's fighting this thing as bravely as she possibly can. Know it's tough on the family, but know the Nightcap family is praying for you and your family. So, Madison, happy 10th birthday.

1:01:28Shannon Sharpe:Hopefully you did something really, really fun today. Happy birthday, Matty. Can't release Deshaun. It speeds up the void of his years, and then they owe him$80 million immediately. No, they don't owe him anything. They've already paid it.

1:01:46Shannon Sharpe:Hey, boy, got a bag over there. Boy, he got two thirty guarantee.

1:01:55Shannon Sharpe:Oh, let me see. We can see something right quick. Hold on.

1:02:08Shannon Sharpe:He kept with what happened.

1:02:14Shannon Sharpe:Every little step I take You will be there I can't believe we're going to PV, man I can't sleep at night I toss and turn It's time to tell the phone Yeah, if the Browns were to release Deshaun Watson It would trigger a catastrophic dead cap salary cap hit of roughly 127 to 130 million dollars completely crippling the team's salary cap flexibility because of his massive five-year contract fully guaranteed releasing him early does not erase what he's owed see what they should have done is released him before now they're gonna have to split it up if they were losing uh uh post june 1st of 2027 86 million dollars uh dead cap burned across two league years 34 wow so basically 34 to 36 to 27 and another 51 million to 28 so they stuck with him they stuck with him this year joe i could have told you that nobody want see i ain't gonna say i told you so don't worry about it no but i what did i tell you ocho i said release him in june release him post June 1.

1:03:35That's what I've been saying. The fact that they didn't and they brought him in. You're right, bro. They stuck with him now. I know what they're going to do because of the money. I tried to tell Joe. Joe don't want to listen to me.

1:03:50Shannon Sharpe:Well, I'm going to have to see tomorrow. Munking going to have to make a believe out of me here. Yeah. So if they leave college and get drafted, get cut from a team They can go back to college, have a good year, and have a chance at the draft. Seems that way. It's comical, bro. This is comical. I can't believe it. Yep. So, he didn't – good God Almighty. It would trigger immediately. So, he would owe not$80 million. They would owe him$127 million. So, they would have to start just releasing players because they'd be over the cap. What you mean? If they cut him, it automatically triggers a$127 million dead cap hit.

1:04:43Shannon Sharpe:What's the benefits of keeping him, though? You're under the salary cap, and you won't have to cut any players. You cut him, you're going to have to cut players. Because the cap is$300 million. So now if you put that$120 million, so whatever they are, let's just say they're$10 million under the cap. Now all of a sudden, now you're$117 million over the cap.

1:05:09Shannon Sharpe:That'll be for two years? They'll be over the cap like that? That goes right now. If they cut him post-June 1st, I mean June 1st in 27, they'll split that money over two years. $34 to$36 million in 27 and$51.5 million in 28. Hey. They got to do something. Cause they damn near crippled in 28 Ocho. They owe$58 million for a guy that ain't gonna be on your roster. I tried to. So you basically looking at 29 before they be able to do anything. Unless these guys go out here, should do a balls out of his mind. Ain't a whole lot you could do. That's what I'm saying. Should do a gotta ball out for this to kind of work.

1:05:53Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, I know you don't really think it's gonna happen, but damn man, I just think. Joe, they not eating that, Joe. They not. Not this year. Now, maybe next year, yeah. This year, no. And hell, you know, if things don't go right. What do they tell them to go home, Ocho? Listen, you heard me, Joe? If things don't go right, you know, with four, the first few games, then that's a different story. Them people upstairs, forget it. We got to cut our losses. We got to go with two. Two is our quarterback for the foreseeable future. What do they tell them to go home, Ocho? So don't even worry. We're going to pay you.

1:06:29Shannon Sharpe:Just don't even be around the team. Damn. That ain't happening.

1:06:37Shannon Sharpe:I can see that happening. I'm sorry.

1:06:46Shannon Sharpe:They backed themselves in a corner player tonight this way. I would have moved on. It's going to be a big hit either way, but the clarity that it would have provided,

1:06:59damn

1:07:02Shannon Sharpe:yeah y 'all talking about billionaire there ain't none of no billionaire yeah but it ruins your cap you can't do anything yeah you can't have i mean think about it you that puts you over the cap you're gonna have to start cutting players and you need and actually they need players they need them it's gonna be interesting tomorrow what no it ain't joke because i already told you how it's gonna turn out you saying the sean gonna be the starter yeah i say if things don't go if things don't go well by week three it's gonna be a change but ty monkey said this is a performance-based competition here with performance bait come on man it is

1:07:49hey all that all that talking todd munker doing talk about performance base and there's a quarterback competition that ain't nothing but the feeling inside of jelly donut that's all it is okay that's just that's just filling inside the jelly donut the forward be it we're gonna be the starter no matter what, no matter how it shook out.

1:08:10Shannon Sharpe:Kobe Curley said, Big 3, did y 'all see the standing ovation that tackled Shehza Pete got in Arizona? It's a thrilling moment. The Navajo Nation showed out for that man. I didn't see it. What happened? I heard him talking about it. I didn't really know because when he put the camera on him, he was talking about it. I didn't really know, so I got to it because I had to turn the TV up. By the time I got to it, I had to miss all the good stuff. So that's why they had him up there talking to him about it. And he said it was a it was a thrilling surreal moment for sure. Okay. Makes sense now. Damn, man.

1:08:43Hey, Bud Clark broke his ankle, huh? Who? Bud Clark for Seattle that went down early. Damn. Oh, okay. Say the safety. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. That might have been the first play, wasn't it? The first play of the game.

1:08:58Shannon Sharpe:I think so, Ocho. Yeah, man, that's messed up, man. second round pick. ISO, imagine this. ISO, Westbrook, Dwight versus Beasley, Stevens, and Monroe for the victory championship. Make the call to Westbrook. Me, Westbrook, and Dwight? Yeah. Damn, to get Westbrook to come play? I bet. I'm going to hit Westbrook, see what he's going to do.

1:09:31I'm going to play.

1:09:33Shannon Sharpe:Remember Ocho still owe you the Leportier from the college football championship game. Y 'all bet, Ocho, you better start paying people back. What, what, what? Damn. What are you talking about, man? You do, Ocho, you do owe me. Yeah, you do. You owe me too, I think. Ooh, Joe, you owe me 500. From what? Remember, we scratched that, because they lost so bad, we scratched that one out. We, it's over with. Yeah, remember, you wasn't getting paid that. Nah, Joe, you said you weren't gonna pay me no matter what. you tried to debo me joe yeah because they lost so bad i don't feel like i had to pay you it was too bad we we didn't talk about that we talk about it it was a bet regardless of how they lost you supposed to pay your money and don't worry about we'll settle that when i see you tomorrow joe

1:10:22Shannon Sharpe:uh man joe got to be out there getting money like shawty low in 94 if you go back to college that's unfair bro hey i ain't say it was gonna be fair hell i know it's gonna be unfair that's why i'm going back here hey hey the arkansas raiders back boy we finna win us another national championship i promise you that y 'all about to get a 90 joe if i go back joe you think hi you're gonna be able to run with them young boys i'm playing from here up partner them young boys playing from waist down they don't know no better okay okay i'm with you yeah they don't know no better and Joe gonna be in the corner blue.

1:10:59Shannon Sharpe:Tired? Nah, nah, nah. Go ahead, coach. Nah, nah. Nah, nah, nah, nah. Me, Coach Cal, John Tyson, all of them, we gonna have us a funky good time. You hear me? Hey, Unk, man, they gonna put Joe in that pick and roll every time, man. Boy, I'm gonna be playing the fire, Ocho. That's the cheat code. That what you and Unk don't even know. You too little, though, Joe. Who too little? Man, them centers in college, man, six, six, 10, six, 11, seven foot. Joe you undersized. Joe you undersized. Hey you must not know me very well partner. I know you very well. Now you don't know me very well. Now you don't know me very well.

1:11:34Shannon Sharpe:Not speaking like that. You don't. Matter of fact I tell you what. Are you healthy enough to play one on one tomorrow? Hell yeah I am. So you want to get it. What you want to do? What you. Are you. Make it loud on yourself. Hey I came playing one on one at the live show. Let me go and whoop him in front of everybody. Damn that. Y 'all gonna be out there getting mussy. Huh? No, they got showers now. Ain't nobody got no deodorant. Hey, they got showers right there on campus, now the locker room. How you gonna shower Ocho right we doing this show? Oh, so are we doing it during, not after? Yes. Okay.

1:12:11Either way, he gonna lose. It don't matter. I'll tell you, you know. Hey, I guarantee you I don't lose that three-point contest. Guaranteed. You must ain't seen my shot, boy. Huh?

1:12:22Shannon Sharpe:I can't believe it. Great show, fellas, but Watson is quarterback one. He went eight and four in his first 12 games at the Browns, then got hurt and played hurt. I'm from Cleveland, and not everyone is booing him or want to see him fail. Number four, QB1. Yeah. I believe that. I believe that. Everybody doesn't want to see him fail. There are some people that forgave him for his transgression, and there's some that haven't. Yeah.
