In short

Episode topic: A sports-and-culture talk segment that mixes (1) LSU’s coaching search after Brian Kelly’s firing and Scott Woodward’s departure, with speculation about who could replace Kelly (including jokes about Donald Trump “anointing” the next coach), (2) debate over the Bengals’ front office after a season-ticket cancellation story, and (3) a music interview with Icewear Vezo promoting his new EP “Purple Passion.”

Guest backgrounds

Kamani Vidal, a running back from Marietta High School (Detroit area), drafted in the 6th round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Chargers; he was cut early, spent time on the practice squad, and kept working for another opportunity. Icewear Vezo, Detroit rapper from Six Mile, releasing “Purple Passion,” produced with help from Houston producer Joan James.

Key claims

LSU leadership is being blamed for repeated coaching churn and for spending big money without results; long contracts are criticized as attempts to deter coaches from leaving. Bengals discussion centers on alleged unprofessional treatment of a season-ticket holder and claims about weak scouting/drafting. Icewear Vezo claims he can record songs quickly (often 15–30 minutes) and that his business choices should be emotionally/mentally connected to his life.

Notable examples

LSU’s reported $54M owed to Brian Kelly; Bengals season-ticket holder story referencing Bengals Reddit/Twitter; Icewear Vezo’s Detroit/Six Mile sound and collaborations (DaBaby, Lil Baby, Kodak Black mentioned).

0:00I turned off news altogether. I hate to say it, but I don't trust much of anything. It's the rage bait. It feels like it's trying to divide people. We got clear facts. Maybe we can calm down a little.

0:20Shannon Sharpe:NBC News brings you clear reporting. Let's meet at the facts. Let's move forward from there. NBC News. Reporting for America. It just came out. Jeremy, what did you just do? You just set yourself up for failure. I've never heard you tell this story. I've never told this story. This must have been tucked deep, deep in the Jeremy Lin file. My name is MC Jin. I'm excited to tell you about Laugh But Not Lease. I'll be chatting with guests from all walks of life about the power of humor when it comes to facing difficult times. These will be conversations that remind us all life is hard. Laugh harder.

0:53Listen to Laugh But Not Lease with MC Jin on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. I'm Akilah Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things. As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority Black city, in which there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslaved people. 2:19Shannon Sharpe:Oh, okay, we got a special guest joining us, right? We got Kamani Vidal joining us out of Marietta High School with Detroit. Drafted in the sixth round of the 2024 draft. Kamani, how you doing, bro? I'm good. How about you? I'm doing great, man. Hey, hold on. Troy, DeMarcus Ware went to Troy. Yeah, yeah, he did. Y 'all got a little program down there doing a little something out of there? Yeah, yeah, man. We got a little history. We got a little history. Marietta High School. Is that the name of the high school? You didn't go to Wheeler. You went to Marietta High, right? Yeah, Marietta. Okay. Y 'all got a good little program down there?

3:01Yeah, we do. We've had some good players come from there. I mean, when I was there, we were ranked like – I can't remember exactly the ranking we had, but we were – I mean, we were up there with, you know, St. John Bosco and all of them.

3:20Shannon Sharpe:Oh, okay, okay. USA Today, top 25. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, okay. preps okay so okay you get drafted in the sixth round 2024 draft and obviously you know jim i mean john jim harbaugh he loves to run the football but but you know you see they're like damn they went and got a number one draft pick that was with the steelers what what is that gonna do for me what's your mindset coming into this season uh just to prove myself you know they was gonna make whatever decision they felt like the team needed to make. So, you know, I was just trying to prove them, I mean, you know, kind of like prove them wrong, honestly.

4:03You know, I used that as motivation for myself.

4:07Shannon Sharpe:And they took a running back in the first round. You're like, hold on. Y 'all must have forgot. Come on, bro. Oh, so y 'all going to just disrespect me. Y 'all going to take a running back in the first round, and you're going to sign a running back in free agency. And I'm sitting up here. Okay, I'm going to show y 'all. I got something for y 'all ass. Yeah. I mean, not only that, I mean, they cut me at the beginning of the season, and I was on practice squad. So, I mean, that was even more motivation. Hey, damn. What has your experience been like, you know, so far? Obviously, you got drafted in 2024.

4:48for regardless of who they brought in, regards, oh, come on. Hey, listen, regardless of who they brought in, how has your experience in the NFL been so far? Oh, man, it's been great, honestly. I love the NFL. You know, it's highly competitive. You know, guys are in their opportunities, and they run away with it. That's what I'm trying to do.

5:12Shannon Sharpe:Bad Ocho. He got, hey, don't worry. I'm sorry, Kamani. I mean, he got faulty equipment. He tried his best, though. He tried his best. Hey, K, I bought a new camera, new laptop. I'm really not. I'm not tech savvy with this stuff. And, you know, my camera wasn't registered to my computer. And I got a cam link and this Elgato thing. And all I know how to do is play FIFA. That's it. That's all I know. So I apologize for that. But that's it. Go ahead. Why have you been able to have such success? You mentioned you played. You know, you got an opportunity. you got drafted in 24 and you come in and then you know take a running back in the first round they sign a running back that was a first round draft pick they cut you you're on the practice squad how have you been able to keep focused because a lot of people would get man damn i ain't gonna get a chance to play they took a running back in the first round they brought a free agent running back in here man i ain't gonna never get an opportunity to really show what i can do by getting touches and it worked out because guess what unfortunately not you didn't wish this on anybody running back both of the running backs go down this is your opportunity to show you know what we got a good one we hey we're not gonna lose we're not gonna lose a step yeah i mean i i knew there was a chance that even if you know i wasn't able to get on the the active roster at uh the charges that um you know a team can still claim you so you know i was working off of hope off of that you know just like using not playing the games to my advantage you know like just almost like using that almost like a mini like a like a little mini off season almost yes and uh i love that i love that you said that because you're like man i always want opportunity i'm just gonna go out there work hard and maybe somebody need a running back and they come get your boy but my opportunity you know the preseason run hard when given an opportunity make sure i go through my assignment.

7:08Shannon Sharpe:They throw me the ball, I catch it. If it's time for me to pass block, I pass block. And when they hand me that rock, I'm going to tote it. Because you never know, there are 31 other teams other than the Chargers. And I love to be with the Chargers. But if it doesn't work out for the Chargers, hey, guess what? Maybe it works out somewhere else. Yeah. Yeah, exactly that. We got, we got a, you got a very, very interesting great uncle. The Hammer and Hank. Hank Aaron is your great uncle. I mean, did you ever take him to school for show and tell? Come on, uncle.

7:47Nah, I mean, nah. By that time, he had hip surgery.

7:58But I mean, it was a cool little icebreaker to have. You know who my uncle is? I bet you don't know who my great uncle is. That's a great-ass brother. Yeah, two truths in the line. Always catching.

8:16Shannon Sharpe:Who would you say would you pattern your game after? I'll probably say like kind of like Josh Jacobs. Okay. Okay, I can see that. I can see that. Yeah, that's a good one. man you cost me my parlay too how I do that because you wasn't supposed to get 55 yards you got damn near 130 hey man that's the week before the week I based it on the week before I said man he ain't get no carries I said well he ain't gonna do nothing the next thing I know and then you had like 20 yards they had you bottled up next thing you know you break off the 40 yarders there go my parlay and then you're like I ain't satisfied with that I'm gonna get me a couple more 10-15 yarders Hey, that's That's on you The next part that come up I'm taking over What else you'd like to do outside of football Everybody has their passions Obviously our job Is football And once it's football season What do you have When you want to reset When you want to recharge mentally And get away from the game of football What is it that you'd like to do that you're passionate about I like to I have a dog I like to play with him What kind?

9:36He like a Oh there you go right there Yeah

9:40Shannon Sharpe:He like a lab mix Okay There you go right there He said man look here Let me get some time man Hey Somebody might have a female dog out here Wanna holler at you boy

9:53But yeah I like to play with him I like to read play some video games What video games you play? I don't play FIFA I'm going to go ahead and tell you that Nah When I'm when I'm away from football I got to get away And you disconnect completely Yeah I play like the little single player games like uh you play cod yeah oh yeah okay yeah i play i play cod i play uh battlefield i know i know that'll feel nice boy yeah yeah it is i'm gonna have to start playing i'm gonna have to uh what's

10:39Shannon Sharpe:your uh what's your what's your line name i'm gonna have to start playing man yeah your tag what's your tag. Stop playing, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to make sure I get him. He done called me my parlay. Hey, his character got a down card. I got to get my get back. You going to be my first victim.

11:07Shannon Sharpe:Give me your top five running backs.

11:14I'd probably say I mean Jonathan Taylor I mean he balling right now Gibbs B. John Man it's a lot of good backs

11:34They gonna clip me on this one

11:38Shannon Sharpe:I mean you got hey bro look at the list that you gave JT, Bijan you still got Saquon out there you still got King Henry you still got Josh Jacobs you got James Cook Aaron Jones yeah I got you got Gibbs I got put Cook and Christian oh McCaff okay yeah see yeah that's a nice little list there yeah they gonna clip you cause you didn't put Saquon or Dan Henry in there. Yeah, I know. I tried to get y 'all in there. I tried to get you in there King Henry and Quan, but he said, nah, them his picks right there. So now that you know, have y 'all had y 'all bye week yet? Nah, not yet. Have you thought about what you're going to do in the bye week, or you just take it a week late?

12:29Shannon Sharpe:Let me get to the bye week, and then I'll decide what I'm going to do right now. I'm in the thick of it. No, yeah, yeah. I'm waiting until we get to the bye. I have no idea what we're going to do. What I'm going to do. Have you had family come see you play yet? Huh? Have you had family come see you play yet? Yeah, yeah. Actually, I have some family in Miami. When we played in Miami, they all came out. That's bad. Ain't no better feeling than that. Man, look. That's unbelievable, man. Best of luck, man. man, congratulations. Look, you didn't put your head down. A lot of people would have went into a shell.

13:09Shannon Sharpe:Given the circumstances, they draft a running back, sign a free agent running back. You get released, sign to the practice squad, but you didn't hang your head. You're like, well, my opportunity to come, I'm going to do what I'm supposed to do. I know what I'm capable of doing. So, man, congratulations. Keep your head up. Stay healthy, bro. Stay healthy, and best of luck down the road. Appreciate that. Appreciate it, man. Have a good one. Your camera jumped off again, don't you? You're looking right at me. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is. Getting a racist statue removed.

13:42And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War. To get to school, I had to go down Robert E. Lee Boulevard. To get to the grocery store, I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're a historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akilah Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky Statehouse that's actually worth the wall space.

14:17We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that?

17:57Shannon Sharpe:Oh, my bad. Days after LSU 5 football coach Brian Kelly, athletic director Scott Woodward, is leaving the university as well. The decision comes following remarks from Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry that criticized Woodward's decision making. I can tell you right now, Scott Woodward is not selecting the next head coach. Hell, I'll let Donald Trump select him before I let him do it. The Board of Supervisors is going to come up with a committee that's going to find us a coach. Woodward was the one that hired Kelly in 2021, but after a rather disappointing tenure, it resulted in the coach's dismissal.

18:32Shannon Sharpe:On October 26, LSU owes Kelly approximately$54 million. Landry reportedly had a hand in LSU's firing of Kelly. Well, damn, and has appointed nine of the 18 board members supervisors. Damn, that will apparently lead the search for a new coach. Baton Rouge native, a Louisiana grad, had been the Tigers athletic director since 2019 when they won the national championship. In his tenure, he hired Kim Mulkey as the basketball coach, won a national championship, and baseball coach Jay Johnson, won a national championship. Obviously, we know in 2019, that was one of the greatest teams ever assembled with Joe Burrow and Jetta and Chase.

19:19Shannon Sharpe:Clyde Edwards-Alaire. They had Red Fad Moss. They had Patrick Queen. I think Stingley was on that staff. Grant Delpit. So we know what LSU represented in 2019. But unfortunately, when you spend that kind of money and you're not getting the results that you hope to get. You got to go. Hey, listen, there's a committee of people who pick and choose who you want to have to be the coach. Obviously, you always look for someone with experience that has coached in the past, that has had success wherever they've been. But the only person we hear about is the coach that gets fired and his staff and everyone else having to uproot.

20:04but they also need to hold the people accountable who are responsible for continuing to pick these coaches and they keep getting fired. And they keep getting fired. To me, I think they should try going in a different direction. I think they should try going in a different direction. What direction is that? I mean, try going with someone that knows the game of football that might not have any coach experience that wants to coach.

20:30Shannon Sharpe:That ain't happening. Not at no major university. Yeah. Yeah. I understand but so you want think about the budget think about all the programs you got as a head coach in the SEC think about it at LSU you heard what you just said head coach SEC at LSU head coach Shannon Elofius Sharp no sir everybody knows I want no part of coaching I don't have the patience I barely had patience this is LSU though we talk about LSU you as the head coach in the boot I want no part of that bro think about the discipline the structure that you provide to that university man them kids would love that man and I could come on I could be your assistant nah I like this right here we got something in the wood we got something working right now that don't involve coaching.

21:34Shannon Sharpe:Trust me. I'm going to be busy. You're going to be busy. We don't have time to be coaching. Listen, you have to stop when doors open and you need to see what you need to let God use you. You need to let God use you sometimes because it's like the signs are there but you're not really seeing the signs and the opportunities are there and you're really not seeing it because you're not allowing yourself to be used by the Lord. There's a reason why that job opportunity open is calling your name. Yeah, Penn State open too. There are a lot of jobs. Florida open. The FSU is going to probably be open. There's going to be a lot of jobs open.

22:17Shannon Sharpe:Unfortunately for me, my head ain't going into the ring. I don't want to coach. I've never wanted to coach. I know me, Ocho. I'm too obsessive. I'm too structured. I'm too disciplined. that's exactly what those students need. Imagine you bring another natty to, well, you, man, you would be a legend, boy. You're already a legend. I mean, you'll be a, you know. Yeah, I'm good. I don't want it. I don't want it. Hey, call Coach Prime. Coach Prime, Coach Prime will listen. But I got nothing to offer it for a coach. Individuals call and ask me how should they handle certain situations? I'll give you the best advice I possibly can.

22:59Shannon Sharpe:but as far as coaching and getting out of now i don't got that kind of time i i did i did everything i could when i played and i know what it takes to be a coach because i've i've seen coaches and when it's done right and it's done at a high level i ain't got a hundred hours a week to put in no joke listen if you wanted to you would because you had a hundred you had a hundred hours you know to put in the football you had a hundred hours to put in what you loved and what you like to do because you understood it was going to be able to provide for you and your family and for those that sacrifice you for you to get to that point now i'm only i continue to say this over and over and i'm harping on it the way i am because i had a dream about it okay and it was on my heart and that's why i meant this is my second time mentioning that because i got like i'm sleeping and he told me listen i need you to relay this message to him on the platform because obviously I'm not getting through to him.

23:55Shannon Sharpe:No. I would consider if your camera stopped running out, but since then that won't do that, no coaching for me. Come back and look. I understand coaching ain't for everybody. I understand everybody can twirl and whistle and blow and whistle. A lot of guys understand actions and no's, but that ain't my heart, Ocho. I ain't going to hold nobody to that. My bad. My bad. But it's, I mean, at some point in time, they're going to start putting all these buys in there. Stop giving all these coaches these damn 10-year contracts. Whatever happened to four or five-year contracts, Ocho? I'm making three, shit.

24:35Shannon Sharpe:I mean, you put a coach out there at$10 million. I think Kirby bought it at$118 million. What? Not that Kirby's going anywhere, but I'm just saying. He's not going nowhere. ah nah man i mean you don't have to give a coach a 10-year contract you don't give him four or five years i think the 10 year i think the 10-year 10-year contract it just looked good no it's to try to deter them from going up from going up to do it with brian kelly jump you know how he left cincinnati and went to notre dame and how he left notre dame and went to lsu they're trying to deter guys from doing that. So we're like, look, we're going to give you long-term security.

25:17Shannon Sharpe:We're going to give you a$100 million deal over 10 years. Okay, I'll stay. But nah, man, y 'all got to stop doing that. If they go, they go. They weren't meant to be there anyway. But, I mean, look, at some point in time, look, I've heard a lot of people over the last, since this Friday's come out, I'm just trying to find the one person that's going to say something good about Brian Kelly. Ain't nobody saying that about him yet? Just one person, one former player, just somebody. See, man, he was a – damn. Anyway, I just want – and, Chad, maybe I'm wrong. Hey, maybe in Louisiana there are a lot of kids that's coming out and speaking up on his behalf.

25:56Shannon Sharpe:But I damn sure haven't seen any on my timeline. And I've been trying to scour it. So I don't really know what's going on. He didn't strike me as an LSU type of a guy. But, you know, he said he wanted to go compete for a national championship. That's what he said. all I know is that he hasn't been close. Notre Dame competed for a national championship last year, and they're in the process of doing it again this year. That's what I know. Now, could they go back and Marcus Freeman? If I'm at any university, Marcus Freeman is going to have to tell me no three times. And then I'm going to call his wife.

26:37Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to get his wife number. this is the athletic director at LSU we got a lot of money on the table for your husband you really like it down here if you can just get him down here we'd love to show you around we know you have five or six kids but there are a lot of great private schools around here you know hey everything's going to be taken care of I'm going to make Marcus Freeman tell me no three times just three he's going to have to tell me no three times and change his number Let me tell you something, huh? Because I'm going to call him back. I bet you don't know who this is. You know, anytime you have to ask something more than two times, that's damn near begging, huh?

27:17Hey, what TLC say?

27:19Shannon Sharpe:I ain't too proud to beg. You talking about one of the great coaches? Look, there ain't no more Nick Saban out there. Kirby ain't leaving Georgia. Hey, I mean, could Lane possibly leave Ole Miss? I don't know. I think Lane probably would only leave for Alabama or something like that, but it seems like Kalen DeBoer after what he's turned this season around, he's not going anywhere. But Marcus Freeman is my first call for every job, and he's going to tell me no three times. Oh, you see Mr. Franklin? Oh, come on. You see Mr. Franklin just got going over to Virginia Tech, huh? James Franklin? Yeah, you see it.

27:59I did. Yeah, Mr. Franklin is getting ready to sign a deal over at over at Virginia Tech just that just that fast

28:11yeah

28:12Shannon Sharpe:but their expectation I mean when you make that big money Ocho you know what comes along with big money big expectations I mean I would man they're not paying you know 8 9 10 limb 12 13 million dollars to do what not winning it not to win a conference title not compete for a national title You also have to understand this. Those that are in position of power... That's not been confirmed, don't you? Oh, it hasn't? No. That must have been a fake tweet then. But listen, what I'm going to say, the people in positions of power that pay these coaches this money, even though you pay that kind of money, you know it's not guaranteed that you're going to win a natty.

28:51It's not guaranteed. It's not guaranteed that you hope for to get there and get the right players through NIL to give you a better chance of reaching it. But it doesn't guarantee nothing. I'm going to just switch to my laptop camera.

29:12Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, it's a... No, ain't no guarantee. But, you know, with those facilities that they got at LSU, they just renovated, they probably spent$20,$30 million to renovate the facility. Yeah. Bro, man. nah they're not finna let you do that you got to produce you said you was going there the facilities the money that they invested in you invested in the coaches the money that they invested in the NIL the upgrade to the facilities and that's not good enough what the hell are we looking at

29:55Shannon Sharpe:oh lord Ocho, what you gonna do? Ocho, after the Bengals lost to the Jets, a season ticket holder called to cancel his tickets for the next season. Here's how it went. If you cancel your season tickets, how'd it go? I called today to cancel my Bengals season tickets for next year, and the whole conversation felt super guilty, trippy, and argumentative. I was asked if I only wanted to be a season ticket holder when we go to the playoffs, and I'm just being emotional for losing to the Jets. They asked me, they asked, why was I unhappy? So I said that I'm frustrated with the front office, mainly the lack of real scouting department, bad drafts and how the prices keep going up steeply every year since I joined.

30:42Shannon Sharpe:Instead of just taking the feedback, they got defensively saying things like the front office who drafted Joe Burrow and T. Higgins. The last thing being asked to me if I wanted to cheap tickets or pay Jamar Chase the tickets. Hey, hold on. That's what y 'all doing now, Ocho? That's what y 'all doing trying to make the people feel guilty? Y 'all being argumentative? Ocho, is that really what y 'all doing? You really think that's real? It's the Bengals feed. Okay, pull up the Bengals feed on your Twitter. Let's see what it looks like. When you say Bengals feed, what, Twitter? Pull it up. Like the actual team?

31:20bingo's reddit the bingo's reddit account oh i don't i don't i don't even i don't know what that

31:25Shannon Sharpe:is you got a reddit account i just got twitter instagram and tiktok

31:33here's something that should not be as complicated as it is getting a racist statue removed and here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is getting a new one put up in its place As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War.

32:05The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky Statehouse that's actually worth the wall space. We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that?

35:54Read

35:54Shannon Sharpe:You pull up Reddit I don't have Reddit And you think that's real Yep I doubt it I don't yeah I don't have a reddit account but that doesn't even sound real because those I mean the people I don't think they even say they wouldn't say anything like that that's unprofessional they would nah you know we dealing with the Bengals Ocho no listen even if you're dealing with the Bengals people wouldn't they wouldn't say anything like that to a person that has season tickets. Not like that. No disrespect, it sounds damn near made up. I'm just being honest. I'm not taking up for the Bengals. I'm not taking up for the Bengals.

36:49You got it ready to count.

36:50Shannon Sharpe:Let's see what it is. I'm just saying it. It just doesn't sound right.

36:59I mean, the kid in the other day

37:01Shannon Sharpe:been upset lately. Yeah, I mean. I mean the Bengals. Listen, honestly, the fans have a right to be upset. Hell, I'm upset. For sure. Well, they were listening to you because you said they were going to win. Well, we were going to win if Joe stayed upright and stayed healthy. No, no, no, no. Even after the fact, because you said Brother Browning. That's what he – hey, Chad, didn't he refer to him as Brother Browning? Brother Browning. Brother Browning. Oh, yeah, okay. Yeah, I mean, but it didn't work. We got Joe Flacco. Look what happened. Joe going to do what he got to do. Joe coming in this week though.

37:39They thought Joe wasn't going to play because of his shoulder. Joe going to play.

37:46Shannon Sharpe:Yep. I'm looking at the official Bengals Reddit account. Yep. It real.

37:56Yep.

37:57Shannon Sharpe:I'm sorry, Ocho. Hold on. So you think the Bengals posted that? no he posted it the pick ticket holder posted it but the response was from the Bengals official account nah that's why no why would I why would I report something's gonna make me look that's price AI oh shit that ain't real that if it was real by this time the Bengals would have came out and apologized to the person and it would have been every man when you ever know Mac Brown to apologize. You play for the man. When does he ever apologize? You can't have people that work for your company, work for your business, talking to season ticket holders like that.

38:39That's unprofessional.

38:40Shannon Sharpe:All the season ticket holders are saying the same thing. My husband called and had a very similar experience. I get it. You're supposed to do... That's the stance you're supposed to take. It don't even sound real. I'm just saying. It does. This sounds real. Why y 'all don't have a scouting department then? Is that real? We got Duke Tobin. Why y 'all don't have a staff scouting department like all 31 other teams? Is that real? You know what I just said? We've done a – hey, you heard me? We've done a phenomenal job scouting. Hey, every single year, what we got at the receiving position? Before me.

39:23Look where you're picking. Before me, after me. Look where you're picking. Outbacks.

39:29Shannon Sharpe:Look where you're picking. Whose fault is that?

39:37That's your fault. That's a big fault. That's a good thing. Because if we weren't picking when we were picking, we wouldn't have Jamar Chase. Or we wouldn't have been able to get Tee Higgins. Or we wouldn't have been able to get Joe Burrow. Or you wouldn't have been able to get me. You wouldn't have been able to get Carson Palmer. You wouldn't have been able to get A.J. Green.

39:52Shannon Sharpe:All that y 'all got. Now tell me, how many division titles have you guys won? with all the players that you named? Oh, um, seven.

40:04Shannon Sharpe:Since you were drafted there, how many division titles have the Bengals won? Oh, division titles? Seven. Because I won two. You won one. Two. One. And Carson got hurt the first player of the playoff game. Oh, damn. That's it? My bad. I don't think y 'all might have won seven division titles since the existence of the B. I don't like you taking shots at my team because I don't take shots at yours. How many division titles the Broncos won?

40:41Shannon Sharpe:They've won six division titles since 1991. I said seven. I missed it by one. I told you. No, I said since you. Some of those boomer sides in the world. Jeff Blake in the world. Not you. How many have they won since 2001? Since 2001 or 91?

41:07Oh, yeah.

41:08Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Andy Dalton. Red Rifle.

41:15Shannon Sharpe:They won in 21 and 22? Yeah. Oh, yes. Y 'all won six titles. Thank you. I told you. i oh i said five he said seven we split in the middle nah i knew i knew what it was i was just off by one i was off by one you do realize five is one away from six yeah i understand what you're saying i'm just saying you were trying to make it seem like we were so sorry first of all first of all you were over so you'd have got out of one because i was under you was over uh you ever ever play the Price is Right? That's the one where you spin the wheel, right? Yes. Yeah, I like that game. Yeah. No, I'm thinking about Wheel of Fortune.

42:04Shannon Sharpe:Wheel of Fortune, you spin the wheel around. Price is Right also have one where you try to get closest to a dollar without going over. Right, right, right. Okay, I got you. Yeah, I grew up on the Wheel of Fortune. Wheel of Fortune used to let you buy prizes. You could buy prizes. they have bedroom suit they have living room furniture they have patio furniture so you can buy it and once you buy a prize people don't realize this Pat Sajak was not the original host of Wheel of Fortune who was? Chuck Willoughby oh Chuck yeah yeah yeah he got into a contract dispute with NBC so people just think and he was also Chuck Willoughby was also on the Newlyware game game shows used to come game shows were where was it and there was no game show network so all the stuff you know Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune all that other stuff the dating game to tell the truth

43:01Shannon Sharpe:is he up or we could go okay

43:08Shannon Sharpe:I'll go to his next topic Dak you want to go with Dak Dak Prescott said he can sympathize with fans who are frustrated about the recent Jerry Jones quote in the Wall Street Journal Jerry said there's$100 billion present value with natural grass out there. That's why I'm talking to you on the telephone rather than trying to fix our defense with the Dallas Cowboys. Dak responded today. I don't know the full context of it. I do know a piece of it. But being a fan and you just hear or just read that, yeah, of course, that can definitely be frustrating. Ocho, Jerry said he got big. He said he's thinking about the$100 billion.

43:48Shannon Sharpe:So now y 'all can see y 'all can stop talking about Shannon hating on the Cowboys Jerry don't care about winning Well, he never did Jerry never cared about really No So now he told you what on his mind he just told you he laid it out So can y 'all stop oh Jerry no Jerry don't care about winning Jerry care about making money because Jared can make money without winning.

44:22All right.

44:23Shannon Sharpe:Of course, Dagg is frustrated. Dagg said, I'm going out here busting my butt, and you don't care about that. You told me you care about this$100 billion natural gas thing that you could possibly get your teeth into. Just like the players, Lump. Just like the players. The players, what's the bottom line? To make as much what? Money. The owners the same way. but let me ask you a question if a player if a player said man I don't care about no winning I care about this I care about this 200 million dollars that I got what would the fans snap they go crazy okay Jerry Jones just said the exact same thing he said I'm concerned about this hundred billion is ain't worried about fixing no defense that's what he he wasn't worried about the past 30 years hell no hey Jerry run that thing when you talk about somebody that's going to do things his way no matter what nobody say boy he is the epitome of doing just that and he don't care Dax said but in that sense I would say the guy's never really lied about who or what he's trying to do hopefully he was talking about it in a particular moment maybe in those five minutes, he was alluding having a chance at a $100 billion opportunity.

45:42Shannon Sharpe:I think he might take five minutes as well to answer a call. Hopefully that's what he means. But I can see how it can be frustrating. Obviously, Dak is the face of the franchise. He has to say all the right things. But Dak, in the back of his mind, he knows what it is. Other football players, anyone else that's heard these comments, they know what it is. Jerry Jones has showed us what the bottom line is with him and what it has always been. He's doing just enough to keep you happy, doing just enough to keep you interested. And every year, damn, he fooled us again. Damn. I just wonder what the fan base would say if a player said the exact same thing.

46:29Shannon Sharpe:Let's just say Ocho he had an opportunity to make 200 300 million dollars right feel He said man. I ain't really worried about no offense, man I got an opportunity to make 350 million dollars off the field They're killing they're killing but listen, you know you When you're in certain positions of power, you know, you play by a different set of rules Things you can say and get away with even though people are scrutinizing for it and there's certain things that players just can't do you just can't do it true you can't do it it's all about being self-aware it's all about self-awareness there ain't no consequences no not for him absolutely not who the hell speaking the concept who's gonna do something no i'm just saying i mean but look but the fans gonna still go because oh we got a chance to win not with that guy he don't care about winning what makes jerry doesn't care about winning because each owner gonna get a probably check cut this march for 400 million four it was three plus last year it's gonna be 400 this year now that's just that's just from the tv deals that ain't local that's not local advertising that's not local tv that's not parking that's not concession that's not he has his own merchandise deal so hey jerry got that fitting jerry makes double what whatever you think the the uh the most profitable as far as merchandising all that stuff is jerry does double and the only time Jerry sees the Super Bowl when he's in attendance.

48:15Shannon Sharpe:That's crazy.

48:19Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Cho, we got a special guest joining us. Icewear Vezo. Bro, what's going on? What up, though? What it do, big homie? How you feeling? Man, I'm good. I'm good. EP dropped today, Purple Passion. Tell us a little about the song. Tell us a little about the EP. Man, you know, so you know I'm from Detroit. I'm from Six Mile from the east side. You know, we got our own sound in Detroit. You heard it. And I created a whole new sound for the world to rock with. So I just kind of wanted to switch it up on this joint. You know what I'm saying? And just had some fun with it. My homie, Joan James from Houston, he produced the whole tape.

48:52So Brunch is like, bro, let's talk that Detroit. You know what I'm saying? On these down south beats and see what we do. You heard? So, yeah, we put it together, man.

49:02Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. Gucci man say once a rapper becomes a podcaster, it means they fell off. You have your own podcast, bro. You ain't falling off, are you? I ain't falling out I gotta take my glass off of this First off I rock with Gucci I got real love for Gucci For everything he did for the culture It really motivated me But where I'm from I'm from the trenches bro We don't never tell no man or woman To not go get no money It ain't no one way To chase a billion dollars or a hundred million dollars If you chasing fifty dollars You don't gotta do just one way It ain't no one way to it I live how I live.

49:42My life is my life. I am. I am. I'm not what I used to be, but I am what I am now. You heard. And that can't be taken away from me. So, no, I don't mean nobody fell off of me. We smartened up. We got wiser and we sank another lane. We sank another avenue and we decided to take advantage of that. You know what I'm saying? I would never in my life tell nobody to not go get no money. Ain't nobody ain't nobody bigger than a program to say what's what, you know, what bag is cool and what bag ain't cool. I used to sell drugs brother you know I'm saying I ain't proud of that and I don't got to do that no more because brothers like y 'all created a lane for people to speak they mind and you know have open discussions and respectful disagreements and debate and just talk and just kick it and vibe for the whole world to be able to do that so you know no when guys like y 'all open that door man we're gonna walk right we're gonna walk right through it Gucci motivated me to want to write a book too you know I grew up with guys I got homies in my circle that look you better look at that like we writing a diary.

50:40You know what I'm saying? It ain't no way for motherfucking looking at anything that you do and feel aware about it. It ain't about that. Ain't nobody taking care of my family but me. I put the roof over my wife's head over my children and I'm going to continue to do that. I don't give a fuck if I got a hundred hustles. We're going to get money. I might start selling t-shirts. I'm not going to get a food truck. Ain't nothing stopping this shit, man. Listen to everybody.

51:02Shannon Sharpe:Get that paper. Don't let nobody tell you what's cool and what ain't cool when it kind of get money. Only money that ain't cool is drug money We know that on NWEL So we ain't doing that You know what I'm saying I like that But shout out to Gucci and I got real love for it I swear when it came to putting this project together I listened to it earlier Some of the songs Tesla heavy metal, high fashion How long does it take for you to finish a project A year, six months What's the project? It'll take me I say and not they over exaggerate to try to sound too sweet about the shit but literally like two weeks so but it been times where it'll take me two weeks to do one song or four five hours to do one song and when i find a pocket and when i find a bag where i can go in the studio hear beat and record a song in 15 to 20 minutes then i know i'm having fun with this shit i know there's something i need to continue doing and this was working so every song that i put on that project with songs that I made within a span of 15 to 30 minutes, you know what I'm saying?

52:07And again, I got songs that took me way longer to make, but I never really put those songs out.

52:13Shannon Sharpe:It's about two weeks. It's interesting you say that. So let me ask you a question. So how do you, do you write down on paper or do you need to go in there and hear the beat? And do you have an idea of kind of where you go and where you want to go and you let the beat take you in the direction ultimately where you go exactly because i feel like if i gotta write to it then it ain't really it ain't really a pocket i need to be in right now i think the music just talk to you you know what i'm saying okay it talk to you you heard as soon as you hear a certain shit everything just start coming to your mind and you just go and say i don't i don't write but i don't completely freestyle like i say a couple bars sit think on and say another couple bars pause and just play it like that you heard let me ask you how far is how far is six mile from eight mile because we know M great Detroit rapper is from eight mile you from six miles so how far is part of you guys literally two miles apart really literally yeah two miles apart you know what's crazy M went to he went to Osborne for a minute that's the same high school I went to we didn't go at the same time obviously and I grew up on Sanford in Bradford and I believe the house on Eminem's first album is the house that he grew up in and that's on Bradford as well.

53:28So he claimed 8 Mile but he grew up in my neighborhood as well. And that's how he met Big Proof and all them guys. They all went to Osborne High School. That's the same school I went to. You heard? In front of trenches for real though. I can't take that away from that white boy man. One thing about it he really from. Where he from you heard?

53:47Shannon Sharpe:You're really involved in the community. Detroit, you have a local juice bar with your family. How did you – you mentioned earlier about the hustles. You know, you had a pass. It ain't cool to have a juice bar, man. You forgot. Huh? It ain't cool to have a juice bar. That means you fell off. Come on, man. Damn. See, you ready. You dragging it. Hey, I swear, you dragging it down. I'm talking shit, bro. What you about me? But I'm saying – how did – how do you decide? Because you mentioned earlier, you had a pass you're not proud of. you graduated you moved on from that so how do you decide what hustles that you're going to become involved with it was one point when i was 24 years old i bought a restaurant i bought a car wash and i bought a dispensary at the age of 24 when i bought when i bought this shit for one i bought it with the wrong kind of you heard we ain't got to go there but i bought it for the wrong reasons i bought it just to say i got a restaurant you got legit yeah i know it wasn't about legit it was trying to look cool and flex on the people in my community not flex with them but flex on them i got it for the wrong reason it crumbled and i learned from that first and foremost you know that's when i decided ain't no point in me shining on my on my folks you know we gotta lift the community up and shine with them and do more for them so they can have these opportunities you heard but like right now what i really learned from that is i don't involve myself in no business that I can't find any type of emotional connection to it or mental connection to it.

55:19And every time I do a business that I can find some type of connection to, they win. But when I do business, it's for the wrong reasons like the other shit that I had prior going to prison. It never worked. So I decided from jail, anything, any business that I do, I want to have some type of connection to it, mentally or emotionally. So the juice bar is a family thing that I got from my old lady. You heard? So yeah. That's how I decided. just having some type of connection to it.

55:46Shannon Sharpe:You collaborated with DaBaby, Lil Baby, Kodak Black. So what goes into a collab? So how do you like, okay, I got an idea that I think this guy would sound good. I got an idea, I think that. So how do you go about picking people who you're going to collab with on your projects? Most of, well, pretty much all the collaborations I got just like from relationships that we built. You know what I'm saying? Just moving around with guys or we linking up and we build for a couple of weeks. We might even build for a year just, you know, get to know each other on some type of personal level. Not too personal, but just enough.

56:21You know what I'm saying? So the songs becoming organic. We either be in the studio. I make some shit and they get on it. Or, you know, like you say, like I got a song called Up the Skull featuring Lil Durk. Soon as I did that song, everybody in the studio like, bro, you got to put smirk on it. And I send it to smirk. He did the verse and he sent it right back. You heard? So, yeah. Hey, is it difficult when you have a collab and you need an artist to send their verse in and they take too long? I mean, when it's shit free, you can't really complain. You know what I'm saying? If them dudes bless me with a free verse, I ain't got no complaints.

56:59You know what I mean? But even if I did pay, I understand everybody got stuff going on. It's times that I took too long doing a lot of stuff. you know whether it's for myself my wife my kids my family or other artists sending them verse and it don't be nothing you know that i'm stalling out on i'm just handling other shit and my mind might be occupied on other things so so i think it's important that we learn to have patience with each other you know as a community first and foremost it's just you know overall it's artists and and co-workers we gotta have patience and you know hope for the best and if somebody don't send a song all is well you know it ain't no love lost right wow you lost you launched your own

57:39Shannon Sharpe:record company iced uh iced up records how is it okay you own the label but you got a creative side so you know you got to create on your own but then when you hire people you got a business side so you know friends is one thing business is another thing and a creative aspect is something entirely different how do you do such a great job of balancing all that out i establish that with the people that i do business with that business business friendship is friendship and being an artist is being an artist i rap as well and i own this label so it's gonna be times where i gotta focus on myself but the same type of focus that i put in myself i'm gonna put it into them just as just as well but i think communication is everything you know communication is key you know so um yeah just basically establishing that up front you heard like check this out you my homie or you may not be my homie whatever the case is we handling business let's keep it business let's do business and as friends and as homies this shit should never mix be mixed up with each other and a lot of times it goes south you know when you do business with your homies but sometimes it worked it worked well you heard but yeah i think just communicating that up front Has it been difficult?

58:56Shannon Sharpe:Have you lost friends because you mixed friendship and business? Absolutely. I lost a lot of friends because of that. Trying to help people. You know, you can't help everybody. I've been got that understood. My mama told me that, but I'm hard-headed. So I keep trying. You know? So, Detroit, your Lions are looking good. Is this the year the Lions get to the Super Bowl and potentially win it? Without a doubt, we winning. We got this. come on come on hey listen y 'all boys balling boy y 'all boys balling I can't even say nothing when everybody was hurt y 'all still was balling on defense offensively y 'all might be the best offense in the league I mean y 'all might be the best offense in the league I'm not even gonna lie this might be the year this might be the year honestly if god damn the quarterback play very well when you get to the playoffs and don't throw all them damn interceptions I'm gonna see y 'all in San Francisco Let me see y 'all in town We going We winning too We going to win We going to win Hey, Detroit make the Super Bowl You going?

1:00:02Absolutely I gotta go We gotta go Celebration I don't think we ever been to that motherfucker

1:00:07Shannon Sharpe:Nah, you haven't Damn We going this year Yeah, y 'all long overdue We long overdue, man It's just the whole build up The story, everything Them boys really put that Put that grind in And they making this shit happen, man They bring the city back you heard so yeah man i swear man congratulations on everything that you've done i know you said he's proud of you congratulations on turning your life around because you realized the path that you was going on however you had to learn the easy way or the hard way but you figured it out and you're doing something positive in community and i want to say one black man to another i'm proud of you man congratulations on all your success keep keep your head down in the straight now and good luck on every all the projects that you have coming after this best of luck bro Thank you, bro.

1:00:52I appreciate it, big brother. Thank you all for having me. Much respect to both of y 'all, man. Y 'all huge motivation to everybody in the community, outside the community. God bless y 'all. I wish y 'all nothing but the best and a lot more success. Thank you, brother. I genuinely mean it. Thank you for having me.

1:01:07Shannon Sharpe:Appreciate you, bro. All the best, man. Y 'all make sure y 'all go check out Icewear Bezos, Purple Passion. It dropped today. Hey, go check him out. Check it out. Appreciate you, bro. Love. All right. He said Detroit's going to do it, Ochoa. Yeah, yeah. Hey, listen, I got common sense, and I got eyes. And I told you what I'm going to do from now on. I'm not betting with my heart no more. I'm not talking football, the game of football in general, with my heart. I'm using my logic. I'm using my eyes. I'm using what I've known and come to understand and playing this game since I was four years old.

1:01:47Detroit is very, very good to a point where it's almost their advantage because of what they have on both sides of the ball. So if there's a team that has the strength, if they stay healthy, they go to the chip, it's the goddamn Detroit Lions. But they do have one team standing in their way. The Eagles. They got one team standing in their way. That is the Philadelphia Eagles.

1:02:15Shannon Sharpe:Do Detroit play Philadelphia this year?

1:02:30November

1:02:32Shannon Sharpe:November Detroit plays Philly in Philly on November 16th that's right around the corner that's right around the corner that's going to be some fireworks we got some news that you might like according to the rings Mike Coppinger, Mayweather and Pacquiao are in talks for a potential rematch in 2026. The fight is reportedly being explored as another Netflix boxing event. Mayweather Pacquiao met for the first time in 2015 in a fight that was headlined as the highest grossing pay-per-view in boxing history at the time. Mayweather won the fight by unanimous decision but many believe the fight went down much later in their careers than it should have.

1:03:17Shannon Sharpe:It was announced last month that Mayweather and heavyweight legend Mike Tyson agreed to an exhibition fight in the spring of 2026 so the rematch against Pacquiao would be another big money fight for the 48 year old Floyd Mayweather right Mayweather's 48 right or Pacquiao

1:03:38Shannon Sharpe:Joe would you like to see an older version of Mayweather Pacquiao 2 in 2026 yeah that's an older version younger version any version any version of Floyd being back in the ring and actually fighting someone like Manny Pacquiao, even though I know they're older, it's still going to be exciting. We just watched Pacquiao not too long ago. He moved around just fine. He's still bouncing. He's still bouncing, still throwing, still sticking and jabbing and getting in and coming out, doing what he does. I would like to see it. I understand one thing. Manny Pacquiao wants his get back. If they are to fight again, he's going to get in there and actually fight as opposed to some of the exhibitions that we've been seeing.

1:04:18So I think it's interesting to see those two go at it again. Why not? There probably will be people that's like, we don't want to see them. They're old. Well, listen, it's the month of November. Don't worry. It's the month of November. It's the month of November. There are some great fights that are coming up this month. Some really good fights that are coming up. And you got plenty of time. This is entertainment purposes only. Netflix, Mayweather, Tyson, Mayweather, Pacquiao. And listen, people are going to say, oh, I don't want to see that. I don't want to watch it. People are going to watch.

1:04:56Everybody's going to watch. You might not be watching, but everybody else will because those two individuals are a draw. Floyd Mayweather is still a draw, no matter what you say.

1:05:08Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, look, you're going to make that kind of money. They probably make $20,$30 million. Where else are you going to make $20,$30 million? nowhere nowhere so I don't regret the guy can make an honest hustle they look I don't know if this is an exhibition fight if it grows against one of their records or whatever the case may be if it's not an exhibition and it goes against the record well you know Floyd finna come out there man Floyd ain't playing that he is not losing that zero yeah

1:05:45I think

1:05:46Shannon Sharpe:like I said in the situation you see the money being tossed around with these exhibition fights Floyd like what the hell hey Manny let's do part two get a bag the highest and Netflix like live events they're coming I am not going to be surprised don't they got football and Netflix got NFL football this year? Like Christmas Day games or something? Okay, yeah. But they're going to have a package. It ain't going to just be, you know, I wouldn't be surprised. You start seeing Sunday games on Netflix and Amazon. You know, I know Amazon got the Thursday package. I know they got the Friday, the Black Friday game, but I would not be surprised if Netflix end up getting a package where they have six, seven, eight games in a season.

1:06:44Shannon Sharpe:But no, I agree with you Ochoa. I'll be right there.

1:06:53Shannon Sharpe:I'll be right there watching it. All right. We got it. It's time to play or fade. How did we do that? How did we do tonight? I don't think Bateman got them yet.

1:07:13Shannon Sharpe:Here's the pick for a flex play ahead of tomorrow's NBA slate. Jalen Brown, less than four and a half assists versus the Sixers. Nah, I think you have five assists. I get five. Tyrese Maxey, more than 36 and a half combined points and assists. Man, he, hey, oh, he going, he going over that. he been going crazy what are they playing now the Sixers played the Celtics him and BJ Xcom that's the rookie yeah yeah real nice Quentin Grimes off the bench doing really Devin Booker more than three and a half rebounds versus the Jazz yep yep we're gonna have four Laurie marketing more than 25 24 and a half points versus the sun.

1:08:12Shannon Sharpe:He dropped 50 the first time somebody dropped 50 in a game for jazz. Ah, Donovan. Donovan Mitchell. They said he was the first. They said the other night that he was the first to drop 50. Laurie marketing since Karl Malone. But did Donovan drop those 50 in the playoffs? yeah because I know he dropped what 57 in the playoffs with him and uh who are they going back and forth with uh the Nuggets that's when him and uh uh what's the guard from uh the Nuggets Jamal Murray was going back and forth they both had 50 head to head and and and uh Mitch dropped 57 one game 57

1:09:05Shannon Sharpe:guess what i thought no but he was at cleveland when he did that that's what he did he did that against cleveland yeah because he broke lebron because lebron had like 57 58 something like that yeah yep so i'm taking large marketing to go more than 24 and a half points versus the sun 25 to win 150 download the app today use code shannon that's code shannon to get$50 in lineups after you play your first$5 lineup. It's good to be right. All right. Time for our final segment of the evening. It's time for Q and A. Hey. Sherby. I ain't had one of these nights like this in a long time, boy. What kind of night?

1:09:54I'm hurting. You know what I'm talking about. I'm fighting for my life.

1:10:03Shannon Sharpe:We about to get out of here on this one. I have a relationship a long time.

1:10:10Shannon Sharpe:Hey, so you ain't see? That one thing I can do. I'm going, hey, like a truck on Red Bull all night. It's different for you because you on the other side of the world. You got to remember, remember, I be asleep by 930. Oh, Joe, I'm up at 7 o 'clock. I'm up at five. Ocho, you do realize what time seven is? And I'm going to go to bed until like midnight. Okay. Yeah, but I've been good, though. I've been good, though. This is my first time in a long time. I was fighting, boy. JJ said Ong tried to tell him about them guppies. I did. JJ, I tried to tell him about the guppies. Hold on, hold on, hold on.

1:10:50Y 'all get on my dog now. Y 'all get on my dog. You understand the issues we're having right now, man. That's why we didn't stand a chance tonight.

1:10:57Shannon Sharpe:they not our issues

1:11:03Shannon Sharpe:they say go ahead and send Lilo and Stitch unadopted unappealing stepbrothers to the bench and put yours in season is a wash there y 'all go there y 'all got now listen I want y 'all to keep the same I done already apologized too and no we had a friendly banter back and forth I didn't say anything negative I wasn't malicious I just said and the offense is going to win. I said everything in a respectful way. See, you got the Ravens fans being nasty. You have to apologize. All right. Keep that same energy now. Keep that same energy. We did. I tried to tell you. All right. Who y 'all got next coming out the back?

1:11:41Don't worry about it. Don't you worry about who we got.

1:11:47Okay. Play like a Raven, huh?

1:11:53Shannon Sharpe:In the words of Eric Allen Poe Bible Patel Dolphins really went from tank for Tua To tank with Tua And did Ocho got to start Betting with intelligence and have the guts to pay Don't think we forgot The 5900 Ocho Not paying up says a lot about someone It does David Says he hasn't paid me yet But you know You see how they do you? It be your own people. I told you, huh? One thing about our own people, this is the good thing about it, though. You understand, as long as I owe you, you'll never be broke. But, okay, as long as you owe Olavsky, he'll never be broke. But you're going to send him here, Fred.

1:12:35Shannon Sharpe:I ain't going to send him.

1:12:43Shannon Sharpe:BDXD say, what does Lamar need to do to get a statue next one to raise? This team is depending on him just like they depended on Ray's greeting from Germany You got to win the championship Ray the two Ray is a two-time a two-time Super Bowl champ He's a Lee the Super Bowl MVP a two-time defensive player of the year That's what gives us. That's what gives you a statue if Lamar gets a trophy and Yes, he gives that you he get a statue at there in Baltimore He get a statue at Boynton Beach High School. They better put a goddamn statue of Lamar Jackson at Miami International Airport. They put a statue, they're probably gonna got one.

1:13:22Don't they got something in Louisville? Probably, they better have one there too. I'm talking about life size.

1:13:31Shannon Sharpe:Well, I mean, it's probably gonna be a little bigger than life size though, Joe. You do realize a statue that's life size ain't that big. My bad, you know what I mean. Okay.

1:13:42Shannon Sharpe:Oh, thank God. I love Spurs basketball. 5-0. Porvita GSG for life. Whatever that means, bro. I'm sorry. I don't understand. But, yes, you guys are playing well. I guess Wemby had another game. Triple X Cup Saturday at this point needs to make where's my 5900 with your merch. This year is almost over. And it seems like, okay, never getting the 5900. I ain't. You know, I'll put it, what you call it? I'm going to have to put a credit thing on it. What's that? I'm going to send it to credit. What's that? Credit who? Credit card? Nope. I'm going to send it to credit. Put, ding your credit. Okay, okay.

1:14:26Listen, my score dropped a little bit, but I can get it back up.

1:14:29Shannon Sharpe:A lot of bit.

1:14:34Shannon Sharpe:Demonte Williams said, find out your game check with interest. rude boy 217 say oh no joke would it make sense AJ Brown and a 2026 second round pick for TJ Watt both salaries are close it would be a win for both sides Philly trades another wide out who's consistent but not a star A-Rod AJ and DK consistent but not a star huh you wrote that no he said I didn't say that you say consistent but not a star

1:15:09yeah what he said you see you see you see what i mean see what i mean

1:15:16now you see why he complained about getting the ball because now here you go talk about aj brown ain't no goddamn star because of his lack of production this is what i'm talking about this type this is why he arguing this why he fought this why he reading the goddamn book on the sideline.

1:15:33Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, the chat say I'll send it to collections. That's why I'm going to send it. Collections. Aaron Jones says, give a realistic trade. Three first round picks and maybe to Kobe Dean. If it's AJ, it's two first rounds. Otherwise, we keep what we have and keep going.

1:15:54Shannon Sharpe:Philly Talk P.A. said, please read the New York Times article about AJ that dropped today. He's connected his tweets to a mental health importance. Shefty already said AJ is not going anywhere. Jalen Carter isn't going anywhere either. Yeah, you say that. But let Cleveland Browns say we'll give you Miles Garrett, and they'll get off either one of those guys. I don't think fans understand all the Adam Shefty saying the player is not going anywhere or owner saying the player is not going anywhere. That means nothing when it comes down to conducting business. So let me get this right. You and I can agree on this.

1:16:31Cleveland Brown says, look, we want three first-round picks

1:16:35Shannon Sharpe:or two first-round picks, a second-round pick, and we want A.J. Brown or Jalen Carter. You mean to tell me the Philadelphia East is going to say no? You're going to get a guy that's the premier pass rusher at his position, and he's not 30. Man, y 'all just be talking the talk.

1:16:58Shannon Sharpe:they'll get off either one of those players for an opportunity to get Myles Garrett yeah Myles Garrett's don't go on trees I think AJ Brown so let me ask you a question you think it's harder to find an AJ Brown or a Myles Garrett exactly moving right along Earl Terran said listen to Ocho Prime did it they need you they would listen to you Shannon you would adjust once you see success Unc's leadership brought the Ravens a super bowl you heard what he said Ocho all right but listen take that leadership over to LSU take it down absolutely not no I gotta have this leadership and she's who's gonna run she's she's media if I'm gone Ash Jordan you know what's funny the people the people at Well, it's kind of hard to run Shea Shea Beatty without Shea.

1:17:57Let me tell you something. The people from LSU, they're going to see this. They're going to see these clips, and I guarantee you get a call in about two days. Watch. I'll change my number. Oh, they know how to get in touch with you. Don't worry about that.

1:18:09Shannon Sharpe:Mm-mm. They got to go through Shelly, and Shelly ain't sending me no info about no coaching. Shakur said, this should be the rule having to sell. You're consistently bad. Why, team, if you're not trying to win, and they're already billionaires? because once you get 1 billion, what are you trying to do, Ocho? Get two. If you get two, you're trying to get four. Yeah, that's a visit. Let me ask you a question. How much is Elon Musk worth now? 500 billion? I think it was like 500 billion. Didn't I see 475, 500 billion? He ain't stopped. I mean, me and Elon. 500.2? He worth 500. I have a trillion dollars.

1:18:51Shannon Sharpe:you think Elon Musk ain't trying to get to 600 700 hey that's crazy when you think about it what's that I mean me and Elon Musk we our estimated net worth is about the same yeah y 'all estimated net worth is worth 500 point six billion

1:19:17Shannon Sharpe:man I can't even imagine my mind wouldn't even wrap up KD rapper can't even find them $500 million. If I had$500 million, I'd tell you where you can find me. I'd tell you where you can find me. I'm going to be on an island. You couldn't. Oh, they're not going to be able to find you? Nah. Listen, I'd be in the Bahamas somewhere. I had me a nice house built. I'm taking my kids. I'm taking all my kids. I'm getting custody. We're going to be at this. Everybody's going to be homeschooled. I'm going to have the nicest game room ever I'm still going to do nightcap I don't care how much money I get I'm still going to do nightcap because the people deserve that they deserve the laughs and the fun and entertainment I'm a game all day that's it man

1:20:14Shannon Sharpe:Miguel Ortiz which runner up is more snubbed on winning an actual MVP Joker losing to Embiid or Lamar losing to Allen. That's losing Allen

1:20:27Yep, as great as as great as Josh Adam played last year. I mean Lamar having Lamar had a better.

1:20:34Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that was that was crazy. I mean 40 plus touchdowns. What do you have for your only four? Yeah Yeah, I think he only had six total turnovers. I think he fought yeah for me and I thought you know the year Joel and B one I thought Yoki deserved it but earned it but Lamar last year I was shocked Frank tank 921 Ocho what do you think about being an accountability coach I like it I like it that's a good one that's a good one that's all the more reasons why he should coach at LSU because he can instill and install All those great qualities that he displays not only here but in life, you know on those players She Timothy Humphrey nobody wants to see Floyd versus Pacquiao clown show.

1:21:27Shannon Sharpe:I'd rather see Ocho versus James. Oh, you're gonna see it Well, hell that might be yeah, you're gonna see it a divo. I hope you see this. I'm a punch in your face boy Huh? Matter of fact I'm gonna hit you so hard. I'm gonna hit you so hard That's it. I'm going to hit you so hard. Eli-El said, Oh, you got to hold Ocho's check. His nightcap logo is never lit, and it's plain black. It's plain back there.

1:22:06Shannon Sharpe:Now you can't see it. Hey, now you understand why it's not lit. nosy ass Saucy D says it's time for Philly to move from Joel with the way he's backcourt if that knee won't ever be the same no it's never going to be the same they've gone in it too many times no it's never going to be the same no not if they try to protect him they got a lot of money tied up in it man I mean Darryl Murray gave him a contract when he didn't have to he still probably got almost 200 million dollars left on that contract I mean, if he can't get on the court for Philly, where is he going to get on the court at? Because at the end of the day, it's still basketball.

1:22:48Shannon Sharpe:You still have to run up and down to hardwood, and you still play 82 games.

1:22:56Shannon Sharpe:So, Philly find himself in a conundrum. That concludes this episode of Nightcap. The Baltimore Ravens move to 3-5 thanks to a 28-6 victory over the Guppies, who fought a 2-7. Lamar Jackson, 18 of 23, 204 yards, four touchdown passes, no interceptions. Two of them was 25 of 40, zero touchdowns, one interceptions, and they had two fumbles. So the Dolphins turned the ball over three times. The Ravens played a clean ball game. Thank you for joining us. Y 'all know who I am. I'm Akilah Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things.
