In short
A sports talk segment reviewing multiple NFL games and quarterback situations, with heavy focus on MVP races and underperforming stars. They debate whether teams should stick with current QBs or pivot, and they highlight standout performances from Jonathan Taylor and Matthew Stafford.
Guests (hosts/regulars)
The episode is driven by Tony Ayo and Uncle Murda (The Real Report). The on-air football analysis is primarily between “Ocho” and “Ocho”’s co-host (repeated dialogue), with no additional named guests appearing in the provided transcript.
Key claims
- Jonathan Taylor is having an MVP-caliber season; his 244 rushing yards and three TDs in Germany/against Atlanta are framed as “MVP discussion.”
- Matthew Stafford is the MVP frontrunner: three straight games with four passing TDs and zero interceptions; 25 passing TDs on the season with a strong TD-to-INT ratio.
- Marvin Harrison Jr is “underachieving” due to drops/inconsistent hands despite being targeted heavily.
- Cleveland should not change quarterbacks yet (defending Dylan Gabriel), while the broader debate suggests some QBs need to leave bad situations.
Notable examples
- Colts’ 31-25 overtime win over Falcons in Berlin; Taylor joins Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, Derrick Henry with repeat 200-yard + 3-rush-TD games.
- Rams’ blowout vs 49ers: Stafford 24/36, 280 yards, four TD, zero INT; Rams’ offensive weapons repeatedly score.
- Giants’ QB shift: Brian Daboll’s decision-making questioned after Russell Wilson struggles; Jackson Dart gets design-run TDs.

0:50Shannon Sharpe:NBC News brings you clear reporting. Let's meet at the facts. Let's move forward from there. NBC News. Reporting for America. What's up, y 'all? Summer's got a different tempo. Everything's a little looser, brighter. One plan turns into another. You hear something, you stay a little longer. Next thing you know, you're somewhere you didn't plan to be. It's those in-between moments. That's where the ideas hit. Conversations stretch out. Little memories sneak up on you. Sometimes it's just about what's in your hand. That color. That chill. The new tropical butterfly refresher from Starbucks. Guava and passion fruit flavors with mango pineapple flavored pearls.
1:32Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that feels like summer before you even taste it. Funny how one small stop becomes the best part of the day. Start your summer rhythm with Starbucks. They may be happening to you without you knowing. If anyone has ever said you snored loudly, or if you spend your days fighting off excessive tiredness, irritability, and concentration issues, it may be due to OSA. OSA is a serious condition where your airway partially or completely collapses during sleep, which may cause breathing interruptions and oxygen deprivation.

2:55Shannon Sharpe:The Browns lose to the Jets by the score of 27-20. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski isn't ready to make a change at quarterback just yet. When asked by reporters if he planned to stick with rookie Dylan Gabriel, as the team's starting quarterback, Stefanski asserted, Gabriel will remain at the helm. After the loss to the Jets, Gabriel has thrown 869 yards, seven touchdowns, two interceptions in his rookie season. He led Cleveland to just one win with the game October 19th against the Dolphins, and they are now 2-7 on the year. Ocho, I just don't know how you're going to win games checking the ball down.
3:35Shannon Sharpe:I just don't know how. I told you before, listen, I love Dylan Gabriel. I love what we were able to do at Oregon, but against in the NFL, if you're not able to throw inside of the hashes, inside of the, I mean, outside of the numbers, if you can't make those throws like normal quarterbacks can do, you're not, you're not going to win games, checking the ball down. You just not, unless you have elite superior talent around you, you're not going to be able to do it. You're not going to be able to do it. You just not. I mean, dude, he was what? 17 for 32, 167. he had two TVs today and for the Browns to have success the running game has to be on for the Browns to have success the running game has to be slap ass on it just has to because that's the only way you're going to be able to fool teams is with play action, low RPO and stuff like that but just at this point I don't know what Stephans he's going to do I think he's going to continue to die on this hill because they truly do not want Shadour to get in there and start.
4:44Shannon Sharpe:You lose a game in which the opposing quarterback goes 6-4-11, 54 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. So you lose a game in which the opposing team did not have 200 yards of total offense. It's the NFL too now. Just mind you, it's the NFL. they didn't have 170 yards of total offense and you lost. Yes, your special teams let you down. You gave up a kick return for a touchdown and you gave up a punt return for a touchdown. But this is not the first time that Justin has thrown for less than 100 yards. He did it early in the season. Ocho, let's be all the way real. Wait, wait, take your time now.
5:39Shannon Sharpe:I just don't see it ever working for Justin Fields. You know, I have a question. Yes. Can we play devil's advocate and think about all the quarterbacks that were there and it didn't work for them. But obviously they went somewhere else to the right situation and it worked. I lost Sam Donald, who was the number two, who was the third pick in the draft who went to the Jets. And for some reason it just didn't work. What's it called with the double two pick in the draft? Wilson, Zach Wilson. Oh, yeah. Bingo. So maybe it's just the Jets organization. They haven't had a good, competent quarterback since Broadway Joe.
6:16And you told me, you know, you told me Joe wasn't even that good.
6:19Shannon Sharpe:He got more interceptions than touchdown passes, but we're not here to talk about that. Ocho, Justin Fields had 54 yards passing. 42 of those yards came on a play. DeBreece Hall left the screen. So in other words, if we take that away, he completed five passes for 12 yards. That don't even sound real, honestly. You heard me? Even on their worst date, Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold didn't look like this.
6:54Shannon Sharpe:Man, I don't know what's going on. Maybe so, Ocho. Maybe he needs to get out of there and go somewhere else, too. Maybe, but it ain't going to be there. It ain't going to be there. But here's the thing, Ocho. We've seen him in Chicago. We've seen him other places. Listen, he was decent in Pittsburgh now. He was decent in Pittsburgh. The only thing that happened, I think they were 4-2. They were 4-2 when Russell Wilson came back, if I'm not mistaken. He was playing extremely well. He was playing extremely well. But I was hoping, I was hoping, finally, Justin Field gets his chance. He gets his team.
7:30Quarterback number one, you don't have to worry about anything except going out there and playing freely because you're not peeking anybody over your shoulder. Nobody's coming to take your spot. It's just your team. Now's your opportunity to show people what you can do. And it's just, I don't know.
7:49Shannon Sharpe:I don't either. Like I said, hold on. Bless you. Cleveland. Why are you laughing here?
8:03Oh, Lord. What happened?
8:08boy Cleveland it's bad huh yeah
8:13Shannon Sharpe:I mean look Cleveland ain't trying to win we got look let's stop we got to stop expecting Shadour because Shadour going to come in there and try to win they don't want to win they want to get draft picks they want to redo this thing they're going to redo this thing and and would I be surprised after this season if Miles Garrett said yeah yeah I gave y 'all a chance but y 'all not going to do anything You think they're going to let him go?
8:41Shannon Sharpe:Take them draft picks and rebuild. You're going to go 2-15 with him? You might as well go 2-15 without him. Might as well try to rebuild for the future and get three first-round draft picks and go for start over. Listen, I wouldn't mind seeing Miles come on right down the street, man. Come on down there in Cincinnati now. Have a good old time with your boy. What you think about that? What? Miles, come on down, an hour down the street, and come on down here to Cincinnati.
9:19Shannon Sharpe:No. First of all, you do know who you start. First of all, the Browns used to be owned by Mike Brown. Oh, yeah, I know the history. I know the history. But I'm just, listen, I can dream. That ain't happening. I can dream. Look, I don't think there's no team in the AFC North that has a chance of getting Miles Garrett. He'll be going to the NFC for sure. I'm doing everything I can to get him out of the AFC. Now, if somebody in the AFC, hey, want to offer three first-round picks and a player, I'm going to have – as long as it's not in my division. If it's in the AFC West or the AFC South, AFC East, somebody I'm only going to see once every two, three years, okay.
10:03Shannon Sharpe:I can deal with that. But somebody I got to play twice a year? Oh, hell no. Listen, not that kind of player. Absolutely not. I don't want none of that. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. But Cleveland's not that good, man. I'm happy for AG that he's put together two wins. But who's the worst team? Saints? I mean, it's a toss-up out of the Saints and the Jets, huh? But the Saints only got one win, right?
10:44Shannon Sharpe:yeah I mean the Jets are 2-7 Cleveland's 2-7 Titans are 1-8 oh I forgot about the Titans the Titans been sliding right up under the radar they been sliding they're going to be bad they're trying to get that number one pick and get what something trade it and get some more picks
11:13Shannon Sharpe:I mean that's what you need to do Ojo trade and get more picks one thing about it boy it's hell building a team boy it's hell building a team unless unless you get that guy you see how quickly Cincinnati turned it around once they got Joe you see how Buffalo turned it around once they got Josh Allen. Look, the Kansas City was right there because they had Alex Smith. They got Alex Smith to the trade. But when they got Patrick Mahomes, what did they do? Yeah, yeah. Look at the Chargers now that they got Herbert. You see? Every year when you got that guy, Ocho, if you get a guy, you got a chance.
11:52Shannon Sharpe:Because I can feel it. If I got the foundation. You're just going from there. That's the easy part. But that's the problem. them and i don't think that the chat understands i understand how difficult even if you're a fan of football it's about the you don't understand how difficult it is i don't know how far and few quarterbacks are good quarterbacks that you can just you can lock in and say you know what this is my quarterback for the next decade the next 15 years and i can build around him that is so difficult to find as the i don't want to be disrespectful but okay you know i'm trying to say yeah but look I ain't even thinking about it I'm just waiting on them when Mary Kay Cabot reported that Shadour Sanders when she reported then I worry about it but I'm not worried about it now because that ain't happening they seem to be hell bent on trying to prove that Dylan Gabriel can play and he might maybe we need to give him more time he is a rookie quarterback but I just don't think they have enough pieces around him to support him but hey they believe in him so that's all we got hey I still can't believe that outside if you take away Brees Hall 47 yard run feels really hit was it raining was it raining that game yeah it started raining I don't it didn't look like it was raining at the beginning of the game but as it got later it started coming down.
13:28Damn. He only had 12 yards?
13:33Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, if you take away that 42 yard. Damn. I mean, even with the elements. I played in rain games and, you know, had over 100. When you think about it, just operating a simple offense. Basic offense. Eye right, eye left. I mean, running curl routes, out routes. I mean, that's 12 yards right there. That's just one play. in fact how do you have something like that in four quarters of play again lets me know we're being cautious don't want to put we don't trust the ball in your hands so therefore this is what we have to do yeah god damn breeze hall was basically their offense of their 100 hold up they had 40 so that so 42 127 that's 169 breeze hall had 125 at 869 total yards.
14:28Nah, that's
14:30Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I just think Justin Fields needs to go somewhere. Woody Johnson is not it doesn't even matter. It doesn't even matter who plays quarterback. We've seen far too many. The only one that's had a little success for an extended period of time was Chad Pennington, but nobody else. I mean, Boomer, you got to go back to Boomer, had his couple of years there in the 90s. You got to go back to Kenny O 'Brien in the 80s, but it's just like sporadic. It's like kind of hit or miss. Vinny came in, had a good year back in what was that? 98. They went to the AFC Championship game. We beat them in Denver, and then I think they had that historic comeback on Monday night.
15:09Shannon Sharpe:Remember they had that comeback? It was the Dolphins, I think, Ocho. But it's just not working for no quarterback, and if I'm a quarterback, I just dread going to Well, hold on. It depends on the quarterback. You have to be him. You have to be a Lamar Jackson. Aaron Rodgers was him. How he looked. Oh, yeah. You know what? But look where he was. So a guy that got four MVPs and is a first ballot Hall of Famer. You know, you look at an easier top 10, top five quarterback of all time. How'd he look there? You know what? When you put it like that, but this is the thing. How would a prime Aaron Rodgers look?
15:50He'd be fine. Because he can elevate everything around him.
15:55Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, yeah, but think about what you're saying now. You're talking about there ain't probably been 10 quarterbacks in the history of the game better than Aaron Rodgers. So you're talking, what's the likelihood of you possibly getting one of those? Not likely. Not likely.
16:12Shannon Sharpe:So, I don't know, Ocho. Damn!
16:17Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, I don't know if you saw this game this morning, but Jonathan Taylor runs for 244 rush yards, three touchdowns. Copenhagen spit-free pouches are packed full of American-grown tobacco. Made for welders. Stuck behind masks. More mechanics stuck on a fused spark plug. The long-haul trucker is stuck in gridlock. We cruised around L.A. in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and dove into the fascinating life of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr. Want the full story? Take a listen. Hedy, she starts dating Howard Hughes, the aviation tycoon. Do you know a lot about him?
18:46I mean, I watch The Aviator, so I know everything Leonardo DiCaprio has allowed me to know about him. But incredible innovator. Right. She says he's a, quote, very strange man. But they do get along really well. Give us examples. I know. They do get along intellectually. And in fact, she helps him design a faster plane. She takes a look at what he's designed. It's got these square wings. And she's like, that doesn't make sense. And so she finds the fastest bird and the fastest fish and sketches out a drawing of like what the two would look like as a plane. And that becomes the plane that we know today.

19:33Shannon Sharpe:And the Colts, 31-25 victory over the Falcons in Berlin, is Taylor's third career 200-yard rushing day. Taylor is the fourth player in NFL history to have at least 200 yards rushing and at least three rushing touchdowns in a game twice in his career. He joins Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, and Derrick Henry. He moved past Hall of Famer Adrian James for the most rushing touchdowns in Colts history. hey he look i for me him and matthew stafford it's hard for me to overlook matthew stafford what he's doing he's had three straight games where he's thrown at least four touchdowns and zero interceptions that's fact i don't think he's thrown a touch uh interception in the last six games and he got 20 touchdowns in the last six games with no picks with that being said Jonathan Taylor's carrying this off.
20:29Shannon Sharpe:Absolutely. Listen. Daniel Jones was doing his best job to get his game away. He tried his damage. And Shane Staggen said, you know what? I got this workhorse in the back. Man, let me turn around. Man, let me take the ball at you, Dan. You'll hand the ball off to JT. They got them Falcon defenses putting that pressure on, buddy, man. He's putting that pressure. They got him seven times, Ocho. So obviously he was a little bit rattled, you know, trying to process it, trying to sit back there and go through his goddamn reads. He getting hit in the head every goddamn time. You know what, Ocho? A lot of times is that, look, sacks are going to happen.
21:13Shannon Sharpe:But just hold on to the ball. You can't every time they hit you let the ball go. Because that's going to happen. And then the interception, I'm like, what you – I give him credit. The old Daniel Jones at the Giants, I'm not sure he's going to stand there like he did today. He's gone. He's gone. But when you got that guy right there that is a threat any time to hit his head on the goalpost, they got him bottled up. He steps outside.

21:44Shannon Sharpe:Beaced it out. I mean, 244 rushing yards. Tackle another 42 yards receiving, Ocho. Man had damn near 270 yards.
21:59Shannon Sharpe:Tyler Warren. I love this kid. Look, and this is not a knock on Lovelace. I think that's the tight end in Chicago. Because I think they took him. Is it Lovelace or Loveland? Loveland. But I like the Warren kid. He's nice. He is sensational. He a go-getter. I love his game. Watching him at Penn State, I say, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, he the real deal. I love his game. JT's over 1 ,100 yards, 1 ,139 rush yards, and 10 games. So he got seven games to go. No, eight. Eight, huh? Oh, they got – no, no. They already played 10. They got seven. 17 games. Yeah, they haven't had their bye week yet, I don't think.
22:58Shannon Sharpe:So that's why they got 10, and the Falcons have only played three. I mean, only played nine. Let me see. One. But, hey, these tight ends, man, they just – the tight ends, Ocho, they just got more tight ends to do it. They just got more – they were just back in the 80s, and you have one or two. You had Ozzie and Kellen. and then in the 90s you had Jay Novacek for a couple of years and then Ben Coles and myself. You had – I know the Patriots fans, you guys will remember starving Marvin Cook. But for the most part, it was always like one or two, maybe three on the high end. Now you got McBride. Now you got Hawkinson.
23:42Shannon Sharpe:Now you got LaPorta. Now you got this kid Warren. You got Loveland. You got just so many guys. You got a Mark Andrews. You got a Travis Kelsey. You got a Rodney Gasson II. I mean, you just got so many guys, Ocho. You got a Brock Bowers. You had Kraft that ended up tearing his knee for the Green Bay Packers. You have so many guys now that can do it that it doesn't even seem special anymore. It seems special when there's only a handful of guys doing it. Now you got a bunch of these guys can do it. But, man, he was – I was like, damn. But he's definitely an MVP discussion. Taylor. Jonathan. You talking about Jonathan Taylor?
24:30Shannon Sharpe:How many yards did – can you figure out how many yards Saquon had at this point last year, 10 games into the season? So, because he damn sure got to be on pace for 2 ,000. Yeah, he should be. Absolutely. Hold on, in 10 games he has 1139, so he's averaging like 113 yards a game. So 113 times seven, what would that give him? Would that give him 2 ,000?
25:02Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, we forgot about Kittle. I said it. Yeah, I said it. Okay. Hell, I mean, we're going to talk about the Rams in a minute. They threw a touchdown. Every tight end for the Rams caught a touchdown but me. Hell, I was like, call my old ass out of retirement and throw me one. Damn, 49ers? Y 'all going to cover anybody tight end? Are you going to pinch them? Something. Yeah, I'm like, damn, they was giving that touchdown like Oprah gave our cars that time. You'll get a car and you'll get a touchdown. You'll get a touchdown. But Taylor, man, he is. He balling. How many did Jonathan do that? I think Jonathan Taylor has 1 ,139 yards.
25:45Wow.
25:46Shannon Sharpe:What happened? So he's two yards ahead of what Saquon was at the same time last year. But he got way more touchdowns than Saquon had. I think he got like 15 touchdowns. Damn, already? Yeah. He got a chance to get LT's record. Yeah. No. So if he averages, he's got 15. He can get 25. I mean, you get 25, they're going to seriously, seriously give this – If he gets 2 ,000 yards and say 25 to 30 touchdowns, he going to be MVP. That is a possibility. It would have to be a quarterback to come on and just have a crazy surge the last eight weeks. They would have to have a crazy surge. Because what – go ahead, Ocho.
26:31If there is one, I would say it would probably be Matt Stafford, especially if they keep winning.
26:37Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Stafford, Stafford, definitely Stafford, Stafford. Drake May but Drake Drake May balling up but Drake May balling he's willing to deal in the end of England boy wow Jonathan Taylor has two more yards on eight fewer carries than what Saquon had at the same time last year but he has seven more touchdowns crazy so and we know what we was thinking about Saquon at this point in time and the thing is you can't stack the line because they got a quarterback quarterback and they got receivers that can go get the football. You got a Tyler Warren. You got a Pierce. You got a Michael Pittman Jr.
27:18Shannon Sharpe:You got downs. You got guys. You can't just play eight in the box. You really try to leave these guys one on one outside? No. No. Not at all. So. Hey, the funny thing about it is when you watch film, you see Taylor have games like he had last week. Hell, we in week 10. You already know where the ball is going, and he's still getting off and do what he wants to do. And I think there is a healthy balance. Obviously, Daniel Jones was a little shaky today. He was a little shaky last week. But outside of that, since week one, he's been really good throwing the ball through the air. He's been really good at it.
27:58So there's a healthy balance that they do have, despite Jonathan Taylor having an impeccable season thus far. teams are going to prove alright you're going to have to beat us through the air we're not allowing you to run the ball if we have to run a goddamn 4-6 bear defense you finna throw that goddamn ball
28:20Shannon Sharpe:yeah well that's what's going to happen but here's the thing the thing that concerns me is that their tackles been getting their ass kicked their tackles their tackles been getting their ass kicked who the hell is that goddamn left tackle hell the right Smith, I forget the left tackle name. But both of them, not just the left one, the right one too. Both of them got their ass handed to them today. Yeah. Oh, this is Indy's schedule next week? Oh, okay, here's Indy's schedule. At Chiefs, Texas at home, at Jags, at Seahawks, 49ers at home, Jags at home, at Texas. That Chiefs game, they need to be able to move that to a primetime game, depending on what time it is.
29:10Shannon Sharpe:It's the morning game. It's a 1 a.m. game. Damn. That's what it's supposed to be. I'm looking. They got the Colts play the 49ers. That's a Monday night game. Okay.
29:35yeah yeah Chiefs play the Broncos next week oh y 'all finna get mollywop hey but y 'all finna get mollywop alright yeah ain't happening
29:51Shannon Sharpe:but the Colts move to 8-2 number one seed in the AFC currently thanks to a 31-25 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons Ocho we got to talk about Michael Penix Jr what you thinking on Joe 12 or 28 now he had a couple of drops damn Drake Drake London back in they found the end zone again today you you're not liking what you're seeing from you on
30:29hold on I was just I was just on that game okay there it is
30:36I mean
30:40Shannon Sharpe:I mean you think about the guys that okay obviously um Caleb Williams player we're gonna talk to him about him in a minute playing extremely well Drake May playing extremely well he's an MVP discussion. Jane Daniels, last year, offensive rookie of the year, playing well, got to get healthy, got to be able to stay healthy. Bo Nix, having to be playing on a great team, especially defensively. Who else, what other quarterback was taken? Oh, J.J. McCarthy. I mean, Ocho, 12 of 28? 177. He had a TD. Did Drake? I mean, I mean, they ran the ball 29 times for 140 yards. BGIM. Drake London Cook, Kyle Pitts, I think he can get more involved.
31:32Shannon Sharpe:Mooney had one, he dropped it. B. John had 17 for 84. Yeah, I mean, look at the numbers. They're averaging over four yards a carry. They're averaging damn near five yards a carry.
31:56Shannon Sharpe:we'll revisit this in a couple of weeks they were 0 for 8 on 3rd down yeah that ain't gonna cut it no
32:08I mean
32:12Shannon Sharpe:Mooney had one catch on 8 targets damn
32:20Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, Matthew Stafford Copenhagen spit-free pouches are packed full of American-grown tobacco Made for welders Stuck behind masks More mechanics Stuck on a fused spark plug The long-haul trucker is stuck in gridlock Performing, working late at the field office Or anytime there's no time or space to spit

34:44I mean, I watch The Aviator, so I know everything Leonardo DiCaprio has allowed me to know about him.
35:21And he calls her a genius. Check out our new episode spotlighting groundbreaking innovators like Hedy Lamarr and Billie Jean King. Presented by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Goodbye.
35:30Shannon Sharpe:Continue to make a case for the MVP. The Rams are now 72, tied for the best record in the NFC with just a half a game behind the NFL's best record. Stafford against the 49ers with 24-36, 280 passing yards, four touchdowns. Stafford is the first quarterback in NFL history with four passing touchdowns, zero interceptions in three straight games. On the season, Stafford leads the NFL in passing touchdowns, 25, and his touchdown to interception ratio, what does he have, one interception now? It's also the best of the league. Stafford is number one MVP award. Also played in the era with the leagues like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Rodgers.
36:10Shannon Sharpe:Only season he's ever received an MVP vote was 2023 when he finished eighth of 10 players. And one year, he should have got some MVP votes because he threw for 5 ,000 yards. Huh? Three. Oh, so he got 25 touchdowns, Ocho. two interceptions. Golly. Hey, them Aaron Rodgers numbers, boy. Thank you. Hey, them Aaron Rodgers numbers. I know Jonathan Taylor's playing well right now, but if he continues to put these type of numbers up, well, you know where that MVP going. It's going to be right down there in LA. Yeah. Hey, this game was over early. This game was over early. It was 21 zip with 13 minutes left in the second quarter.
36:53If you playing mad and the game is over, you got to pass the sticks. It was over.
37:01Shannon Sharpe:The turnovers killed him. I mean, Juwan Jennings, Mac Jones. Mac Jones was 33 of 39. 319, three touchdowns, one pick.
37:14Shannon Sharpe:This is not hindsight. I said the 49ers should have stayed exactly where they are and took Mac Jones. They said stay right where you are and take Mac Jones. You don't have to give up that draft capital but that's a story to be told another day in time. George Kittle, nine catches, 84 yards, a touchdown. Juwan Jennings, six catches, 71 yards, a touchdown. Christian McCaffrey had eight catches, 66 yards. They didn't run the ball really well today. The Rams kind of got after them in the run game. But Matthew Stafford's dealing. When you got Puka and you got Devontae. They were cooking, bro. Still routing people up.
37:57Shannon Sharpe:They were cooking. Parkinson, tight end, touchdown.
38:04Shannon Sharpe:Allen, touchdown. They look good. The Rams are good. And I tweeted, Ocho, are we sure? Are we certain the Rams and the Seahawks aren't the best two teams in football? Are we certain that's not the case? Because we saw Seattle Monday night. No, we saw them, was it Sunday night? When they beat the brakes off the commanders, and we know that. And then they turn around and do it. I mean, they have 35 and one half and 35, I mean, 73 points and two halves. I mean, is there anyone that would want to argue the fact that they're not the two best teams regardless to AFC or NFC? I mean, who would argue that fact?
38:44Shannon Sharpe:People might say the Patriots. Somebody still might believe the Lions. You know. But based on what I've seen, the consistency-wise, I think for me those are,
39:00Shannon Sharpe:I think those are the two best teams for me. But Stafford, but for me, you know, Drake May, and I think Drake May is playing unbelievable. But his numbers aren't comparable. I mean, you go look at Stafford, he's on pace to throw. So he has eight games to go. So he's on pace to throw 50 touchdowns with four interceptions. How many yards does he have? So he's going to be over 4 ,500 yards. unless somebody's comparable to that, they're not taking that award for them. Now, if Jonathan Taylor says goals rush for 2 ,100 yards and 25 touchdowns, now I think it's going to be a very close race. It's going to be a conversation.
39:35You know how the NFL is. You know how it is. I think it would have to be a historical, historical numbers for them to take it away from a quarterback. Yeah.
39:48Shannon Sharpe:And the thing is, I mean, and because he's putting these numbers out here. Because remember, Ocho, the game against Jacksonville, he had five touchdowns and didn't have 200 yards passing. So he's putting up these numbers, and he's not having to do a whole lot late. They just running the football. Kyron Williams, Corham, you know, 30 carries, a buck 26. Nice, smooth, easy. But, no, Matthew Stafford looks good. but he's looking as good as at any point in time he's ever looked.
40:25Shannon Sharpe:Rams going to be tough. I can't wait. When do Rams play Seattle again?
40:39Shannon Sharpe:Rams and Seattle. Oh, the Rams play Seattle next week, Ocho. Is that a Fox game? It got to be. That's what I'm saying. I'm asking, when do they play, though? Next week, and then in L.A., and then in December in Seattle. That's going to be a good game. Next week is going to be a game. Is it a Sunday night? Is it a Monday? Sunday, that's great. It's an afternoon game. One o 'clock? Afternoon, late game. Okay, both of you. And then fall into Thursday, and then December.
41:21Shannon Sharpe:No, I like to see these guys fully, fully healthy. Ocho, the Buccaneers lose to the Patriots by the score of 28-23.
41:33Shannon Sharpe:Travion Henderson. Hey, that joke right there. Hey, can I score? Y 'all want me to score? What y 'all want me to do? I've never seen anybody check with the coaches on the sideline running full speed to make sure it was okay. But he looking at his, it ain't his sideline right here. He's looking way over there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because most of the time, you know, if they want you to go down, everybody be doing this. Yeah. He's like, nah, don't do this. He's sort of close. Drake May was 16-31. 272 touchdowns, one interception. Trevion Henderson, 14 carries, a buck 47, and two long touchdowns. He had his long of 69.
42:12Shannon Sharpe:That was the one he was looking to see what was really going on. He took another one to the house. Mack Collins. Oh, Barefoot Mack. Six catches, a buckle four. Williams, one catch, 72 yards. House call, Stephon Diggs. I think it was fourth down. He ends up catching the touchdown. Five catches, 46 yards, and a touchdown. Emeka Abuka, six catches, 115. Touchdown, K.9 for 82. Taz Johnson, 442. Two touchdowns. They ran the ball decent, 21 carries, a buck 13. Baker played exceptionally well again, 28, 43, 273, three touchdowns. Yeah, Drake. What does Drake made numbers look like? Right, you mean? Now you understand why Mr.
43:05Shannon Sharpe:Kraft had to make a decision. Yes. Gerard Mayo, I got the job, but this guy's just too good. I don't want anybody else to get him. You got to make hard decisions sometimes. Listen, if I was grateful, I would have hoped. I'm not sure how that relationship is. I would have made sure to have Mayo part of that team. Part of the coach's staff.
43:32Shannon Sharpe:Well, we know he got sacked at least five times in the Cleveland game because Miles Garrett got him five times. Ooh, that's a lot. In 10 games, he's been sacked 34 times.
43:48Shannon Sharpe:so he's on pace to get those get sacked over 60 we got 35 today including today so man he's on pace to get sacked 60 plus times listen what's what's david car record of getting sacked when 76 you don't want to be you don't want to be messing with that they'll break you they'll break they'll break you physically and mentally Absolutely. But that's a lot of hits. That's a lot. That's a lot. It's a lot. A lot of wear and tear, especially for a quarterback only in his second year.
44:24Shannon Sharpe:The Bears rallied past the Giants for a 24-20 win. The Giants lost another winnable game, dropping to 2-8 this season, and calls for Brian Dayball's job has officially begun. Before leaving with concussion, Jackson Dart scored two touchdowns on design runs, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history with at least one rushing touchdown in five straight games. Ocho, by choosing Dart over Russ, it looked like Dayball brought himself some time, but has the momentum started to shift. Dayball's going to say, you know what he's going to say, Ocho? When my guy was in there, we had the lead. And I don't mean no good look, Ocho.
45:05Shannon Sharpe:We played, we got 20 plus years. We got two decades in the NFL. The offense, the defense, the coaching staff don't believe in Russ. You saw the momentum shift the moment he came into the game. You saw the momentum shift. Everything changes, huh? You have two different type of players. Therefore, you got to call the offense two different type of ways depending on who you have at the helm. That's just the way it is. Two different dynamics, two different players, two different skill sets. You have to call the game completely different. The things dark can do, Russell Kane. Not anymore. Yeah, he once was able to move like that and extend plays and hocus pocus, as they call it.
45:51But he's just not that guy anymore. He's not that guy anymore. No. That sucks.
46:00Shannon Sharpe:Caleb Williams, 20-36, 2-21 touchdown. They ran the ball 28 times, 471 yards. Roman Duns, a 10 target, six catches, 86 yards, a touchdown. Loveland, four catches, 55 yards. Luther Burton III, three catches, 51 yards. Caleb Williams was... Now you see, understand why they took him with the first big in the track. Hey, remind me of myself. I wish he was a little calmer in the pocket. He's not as comfortable as I would like to see him in the pocket because he can make throws on the move. But eventually, in order for you to win consistently and win championships, you're going to have to be able to throw the ball from the pocket.
46:44Shannon Sharpe:You're going to have to be able to do that. But Jackson Dart was playing well, 19-29, 242. No touchdowns, no interception, but he had two rushing touchdowns. And he had six carries for 66 yards. Ocho, I told you this. man I like to see my quarterback I like to see my quarterback run he gotta minimize that he gotta minimize that he taking too many hits too early he taking too many hits too early I know you want to prove yourself you want to show hey I'm tough too I'm a bringer to you you don't got to do that man make a sound wise business decision go ahead and step out of bounds don't take nobody on enough is enough Enough is enough.
47:29You're too exciting, and you are the one player. You are the one player offensively that gives the Giants fans hope. It gives your coaches hope that we can do something with him at the helm when he's healthy. You can't do nothing sitting on the bench. You can't. He got to protect himself. He got to get out his own way. And his coaches have to call plays to protect himself from him.
47:57Shannon Sharpe:well they call them design runs so if you don't care about your quarterback running I don't care about hitting his ass it's the same thing look it's the same thing that I said about Cam if you want to run your quarterback on quarterback power I'm going to treat him just like he was running back hey but there's two different situations Jackson Thoreau ain't built like Cam at all nowhere near and even Even Cam, you can't take them licks. You can't survive taking them D tackles, those linebackers, everybody teeing up. I don't care how big you are. Yeah, boy. You're not going to survive taking those hits like that.
48:40Shannon Sharpe:And the thing is, I'm not so sure Jackson Dart's going to be able to come back because they've already gotten fined. There have been so many times that he got dinged and they rushed him back into the ball game. Remember last time they fined the Giants? They fined Brian Debo. Yeah, he only ate. I believe this is a situation, Ocho, he might have to miss a game. Probably. Probably, especially when Dayball went in that damn tent behind him trying to see when he was coming out to make sure they don't – He went there today? That's about last week when he got fined. Oh, yeah, a couple times. Because remember one time he wanted to call time out to be able to see – Make sure he's okay.
49:15Shannon Sharpe:What did he go – you know, is he okay? I mean, does he have to miss a play – you know, a snap? Now you see how important he is. Now you see how important he is in the offense.
49:30Shannon Sharpe:I think they realized how important it was. That's why they traded. That's why they did what they did to get it. He was their guy. They identified him very early on. That was their guy. It seems like a great decision. He's played really well. He has an infectious personality. the giant fandom. Love him. And if you win those over, you buy yourself some time. And I thought Brian Dayball had bought himself some time with Jackson Dart because he's playing well. They should have won the game against Denver. They should have won the game. They had the Saints, and then they just started turning the ball over, picked sixes and scooping scores.
50:13but
50:16Shannon Sharpe:I do think they found their quarterback with Jackson Dart
50:24I just
50:27Shannon Sharpe:Gardner Johnson he had two sacks too CJ Gardner Johnson I don't know what it is he plays well everywhere every single where I don't understand I don't understand what's wrong what issues they always had with nephew but what were he on that field on well he gonna give everything you looking for everything yeah
50:52Shannon Sharpe:me he had two sacks um montez sweat had a second half but i i look the bears the bears are gonna be good i mean they're six and three oh jump this is crazy crazy crazy how everything flipped flipped right around that. Yeah, they're 6-3. Get the right coaching. The Giants' remaining schedule. Packers at home. Lions on the road. Patriots on the road. Commanders at home. Vikings at home. Raiders on the road. Cowboys at home.
51:40Shannon Sharpe:Tough one there, man.
51:45Shannon Sharpe:Oh, that's a... They play the Patriots, and they play the Patriots on a Monday night. That's coming up soon? December 1st. Oh, yeah. December 1st. Ocho! So, Demarcus Lawrence has scored two defensive touchdowns on plays that seem so similar to each other. Same guys forced to fumble. D-Law Johnny on the spot picks it up. But D-Law returned two fumbles for touchdowns, became the sixth player since at least 1991 with two defensive touchdowns in the first half of a game. Seahawks finished with five sacks while playing without interstarters Julian Love, Josh Jobe, Ernest Jones IV, and Jaron Reed. They got after Jacoby.
52:37Shannon Sharpe:Absolutely. Absolutely. Ocho, me and you talked about this.
52:48Shannon Sharpe:Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to have to start catching the ball. It's really that simple.
52:57Shannon Sharpe:It's really that simple, Ocho. Ocho, he too good to have those drops like that, man. He too good. And his dad say the offense not flowing and so forth and so on. But, hey, Marv, your son got to hold on to the ball, bro. He does. He does. A little inconsistent. A little inconsistent. Jacoby Brissett was 22 of 42, 258, two touchdowns. Got sacked five times. How he ended up with numbers like this, I don't know. Because, hell, it seemed like every time in the first half he dropped back fast, they was on the back. He was getting hit. McBride had a day. McBride had not. McBride, well, McBride, I mean, look, he wanted another tight end.
53:39Shannon Sharpe:Nine catches above 27. One touchdown on 13 targets. DeMercado, three for 40 on four catches. Marvin Harrison Jr. Yes, sir. Oh, Joe. Three catches, 12 targets. Ooh. Hey, they were trying to get in that rock, bro. They were trying to get in that rock. If they throw it to you, you can't throw it back at them. I mean, we got to be real, Chad. Y 'all watch the game. he drops a lot of passes he does hey it was 35-0 in the second quarter yes it was 8 minutes left in the second quarter it was 35-0 this is the NFL game I mean when they listen when Arizona played the Cowboys last week man we was hooping and hollering excited oh they're probably not going to start Kyler Murray they felt Jacoby Brissett was the better option going forward.
54:38He looked good. But you see what happened when you go against a real team with a better defense? With a real defense? And they coming to get you. You got two, maybe two and a half seconds to get that ball out your hands. And that's about it. And that Seattle offense?
55:03Shannon Sharpe:They didn't have to do my Ocho. Sam Darnold was 10 of 12 for 178 yards. This man threw the ball 12 times, Ocho, in an NFL game. It won convincingly. It wasn't even that close. They ran the ball 46 times for 198 yards. Charbonneau had 14 carries for 83 yards. Kenneth Walker III had 14 for 67. but Jackson Smith and Jigba 5 for 93 in a tub Cooper Cup 2 for 74 that was the damage right there that was 7 for 167 right there Charmaine will remind me of Robert Smith when he was with the Vikings yeah same same running style shirt tucked in, pants high
55:55Shannon Sharpe:the thing is Ocho this game with him they might have scored 60 if Sam Donald holds on to the if they don't fumble they don't follow the ball and then he turn it over this game this game could have easily been 50 to 50 to 10 50 something whatever the coaches would have been fighting on the field after the game if they ran their score up like that they wasn't running up all they had to do was not turn it over that was a good game hey Seattle look good man on both sides of the ball.
56:32Shannon Sharpe:Seattle look good, man. They look good. Their defense get after you. And they have, I mean, think about how many starters they had. Julian Love starter. Josh Jobe starter. Ernest Jones, the fourth starter. Jaron Reed. That's four starters. And they had a performance like this today. They good. They good. They can run it. They can throw it. They can get after your quarterback. and now they got Wolin and they got Spoon Spoon nice hey we'll find out a lot next week because they got the Rams they ain't going to be put to the test because you got Devontae where they playing at in LA well let's go to the game I hit stand we get we get courtside I'm good You don't ever want to hang out with me I tell you I don't want to hang out at the game I tell you about black folk Y 'all be killing me I told y 'all I'm coming out to visit you In the off season Where we going to wait all the way to the off season Yeah we working now You need to learn to live a little bit man You can come down here right now We can do the show in the same house.
57:56I think that people would love to see that.
57:59Shannon Sharpe:I don't think they love to see that. Side by side. And plus, I got to take a few trips. I got to do some stuff for some other stuff. So I got to save my... I got to save my... Okay, okay, okay. Ocho, backup quarterback Davis Mills and the Texans overcame a 19.4th quarter deficit to stun the Jags. It's the second largest comeback in franchise history. only behind the 21-point comeback win over the Chargers in 2013. It's the first time the Jaguars had led by 19 points in a game and lost. Before today, they were 53-0 in such games, including the playoffs, and were the only current NFL franchise that had won each such game.
58:41Shannon Sharpe:Man, Trevor Lawrence, man.
58:49hey he's the answer but he had a bad day to day though
58:57Shannon Sharpe:yeah but far too many of these remember the Rams game what were they in London he stunk that one up he just needed a little bit more Ocho 13 or 23 a buck 58 8 Oh, so they barely had They barely had two I don't know They had 250 yards passing Hey, that fourth quarter was bad Boy, the Texans outscored The goddamn Jaguars 26-0 in the fourth quarter One quarter Yeah, that's how we did You know, we scored 33 against the Giants In the quarter? 33 in the fourth quarter We were down Well, how many possessions y 'all had? Three or four? Don't worry about it Enough to score 33 times They must have turned the ball over twice.
59:47Shannon Sharpe:I tell you what, I know what we did to them bangles. Ooh. I wasn't playing. We the one that got Jake Browning on the bench. Made him trade for Joe Flacco.
1:00:04Shannon Sharpe:Here's where you lost the game at, Jags. Texas was 10 of 15 on third down. Hey, super, super duper efficient. super duper efficient I'm trying they had 69 plays you had 55 plays they had 11 drives you had but they averaged 6 yards per play you averaged 3.9
1:00:31that's creed oh 26
1:00:35Shannon Sharpe:see like the Jags spent a lot of effort to beat the Chiefs Remember, didn't they go to overtime to beat the Raiders last week?
1:00:51Man.
1:00:55Trevor Lawrence. Hey, yes. Just a little bit more consistency. That's it. A little bit more consistency.
1:01:05Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, Ocho, Ocho. I get it, but we've been at this for a while now. Yeah, yeah. We keep saying we need him to be a little bit more consistent, and he ain't being consistent. Not at all. He's not playing well. He's playing. He's too up and down. You don't know what Trevor Lawrence you're going to get. But he got all the talent in the world. He got all the. Oh, he can make every throw. He's athletic. He got all the intangibles. He got a big time arm. Exactly what you look for in a quarterback. A franchise quarterback. But he's just wanting to have a strength. Be able to put him back to back. Put him back to back to back.
1:01:39The back to back. The back to back. If you're going to have errors, let's minimize them. He's having one too many. one too many there's there's no way a team is supposed to be able to come back in a game like this and score 26 26 as a quarterback you're supposed to give me my best chance to win not just win but at least compete week to week
1:02:06Shannon Sharpe:you playing and playing against the backup quarterback but that defense man they a they saw that hold on man we stopped we got a touchdown and let's hold them again let's hold man. Hey,
1:02:20Shannon Sharpe:Anderson Jr. and the guy they got from Minnesota. What's his name? DeNeal Hunter. Hey, the boy nice, bro. Hey, they coming to the party. Invitation or no invitation? Yeah. Remind you of somebody else you know, huh? That's old Brago, old Brago. Who that? Benito? Old Brago country. Old Brago country. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. yeah yeah yeah yeah we still ain't got nobody and we ain't got nobody within 10 sacks of us and we don't hey we do they might catch you who who they had their bye yet okay i don't think we had our bite yet either well we played 10 games hey y 'all y 'all d y 'all defense is real good though like like yeah and we ain't got back once we get pat back we're really i'm about like really really really good oh i didn't know i did i did legit i'd be legit you gotta you gotta get you gotta get that office our office stresses them a lot you gotta get that office going we definitely got to get the offense going but uh that was a good game i watched this through its entirety man my cable will be like 600 all these damn channels i got to get to watch these games Wait, just use UQ?
1:03:44Shannon Sharpe:Rookie, huh? Don't use NFL red zone? Man. No comment. Rookie Tyler Shook threw two touchdowns to earn the Seattle Saints' first win as they defeat the Panthers 17-7. It marks the eighth time in nine starts this season that Bryce Young was limited to fewer than 200 passing yards. Panthers coach Dave Canales described the loss as frustrating. Yeah. You lost to a team that had one win coming into this ball game. Y 'all look terrible. The NFL is. You see, week to week, ain't no telling what's going to happen. Ain't no telling. If you was a gambling man again, I'm going to say it again. If you was a gambling man and understand a game of football and you was betting, you betting on the Panthers to win this game.
1:04:34You betting on the Panthers to win this game based on how they look this season. they've surprised us they surprised y 'all they didn't surprise me because I said this is how they was going to look but today if I had put money down I would have bet the house on them to win today the Saints who've only won one game ain't no way in hell ain't no way in hell and they're home hey there's a reason they say any given Sunday and this is exactly this is a visual representation of exactly what that phrase means.
1:05:12Shannon Sharpe:Bryce gonna have to get it together, Ocho.
1:05:18Would you say he gotta get it together?
1:05:21Shannon Sharpe:He'll have to get it together.
1:05:29Old choir boy.
1:05:31Shannon Sharpe:I think next year it's gonna be make or break for him. I'm not sure they pick up that option. That field day option. I don't think they're going to do that, but next year is going to be huge for him. He's going to have to have the best career, best year of his career.
1:05:51Yeah.
1:05:53Shannon Sharpe:And the mere fact that he's not about to get no$300 million deal will tell you everything you need to know. They don't see. But give the Saints credit. Alvin Kamara ran the ball with 22 rushes, 83 yards. Chris Olave had his best game of the season, five catches. You saw that one-hand catch he had?
1:06:18Shannon Sharpe:Johnson, four catches, 92 yards on a touchdown. Kamara, three catches, 32 yards. But they played well. They played extremely well. The defense did a great job of getting after Bryce Young. They stymied Rico, 23 carries for 73 yards total for the Carolina offense. that's not nearly good enough. That's not nearly good enough.
1:06:41Shannon Sharpe:It hurt them that they fumbled the football. When he fumbled the football, what's the guy from Horn? Jimmy Horn. Jimmy Hayes. He fumbled the ball and...
1:06:58Shannon Sharpe:That won't do it. That won't do it. Also, time for the play of Fade presented by PrizePix.
1:07:22Shannon Sharpe:Jalen Hurts, more than 226 combined yards, rushing and passing. Tomorrow? Monday night? Yeah. Woof.
1:07:34Let me see. AJ playing, Saquon playing, Devontae Smith playing. I'm going to say yeah. I'm going to say yeah. I know one thing. They better establish that goddamn run. They coming. Boy, they coming. I'm going to agree.
1:07:58Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to say yeah too. Romeo Dobbs, 52.5 receiving yards. what you thinking I'm going over that man with Mitchell yeah they putting Dobbs in positions to make them plays he in the slot he going in motion he doing everything how about this here AJ Brown more than 58 receiving yards I don't even know I'm going to be honest with you I don't know either he didn't play the last game and I don't know how healthy that hamstring is it is that dead
1:08:42Shannon Sharpe:romeo 53 yards 53 yards absolutely romeo romeo wherefore are thou romeo okay i see you i ain't i ain't no use in the shakespeare okay you know i played romeo in the school play
1:09:03Shannon Sharpe:yeah man i'm trying to win some money ojo you over here i'm just telling you i'm not because you said romeo romeo i'm just telling you i i played i played i played romeo i'm gonna say dobs i'm gonna say dobs have 53 yards i said that i'm gonna say aj 58 yards he needs 58 yards I don't know but ain't no telling it ain't you ask me about it I'm gonna say no I'm gonna say less Josh Jacobs more than three receptions yeah they normally run two screens more than damn
1:09:53Shannon Sharpe:so if he gets three that's a win for me i'm gonna say yes download uh to win$25 to win 100 download the app today use coach shannon to get$50 in lineups after you play your first$5 lineup it's good to be right
1:10:15Shannon Sharpe:alright we're going to get you out of here on this one now it's time for our final segment of the evening it's time for Q and A
1:10:34Shannon Sharpe:if JT don't win MVP playing like this the league got a problem and besides that two-point play, Saucs had London, two catches, 26 yards, clamps. Go, coach. Yeah, Saucs had a really, really good game. Really good game from the half, such a short time, being there, getting acclimated to the defense. Man, that two-point, they tripped over each other's shoes. Outside of that, nobody really hit. Was that a two-point play? Yeah, that's it, yeah. Look, it's just gonna take, Bro, I mean, so I understand. I understand what everybody's saying, but when these quarterbacks putting up such gaudy numbers, what you going to do with a quarterback with 50 touchdowns, four interceptions, and they win their division?
1:11:26Shannon Sharpe:It's the same thing with the Heisman in college football. You got to do a – I mean, JT Rush, but, you know, it's just hard for a running back to win it. That's why you haven't seen a running back win that award since Adrian Peterson did it in 2012. This is the longest stretch they've gone without a running back winning the MVP. You got to be an outer body experience. Yes, that's what it's basically going to take. TS Car Wash and Detail Service. Shannon, who a person you would love to interview past or alive? Danelle Hunter is a dog.
1:12:09Eddie Murphy Richard Pryor
1:12:21Malcolm X
1:12:22Shannon Sharpe:Dr. King I like that
1:12:30Hove I can make that happen Oprah Tyler Perry I can make it to happen with TP too.
1:12:45Shannon Sharpe:Michael Jordan. Kobe.
1:12:53Shannon Sharpe:Braun.
1:12:58Shannon Sharpe:Who else? Can I? Denzel, Samuel L. Jackson. Anybody? Anybody? You want to know my three? I, you want to know my three? You know who else I want? You know what? Who I want to interview? President Trump. Hey, that, but that'll ruffle some feathers there, boy. That'll ruffle, that'll ruffle, ruffle. You know, I want to, I want to interview. If I, if I had a show, you know, similar to like Club Shay Shay. Past, dead or gone. No one would be Frank Sinatra. Okay, I can see that for you. Frank, man, if I get a chance to sit down with him, that would be a joy. Present time, like today, still alive, who I'm a huge fan of, Daniel Day-Lewis.
1:13:57Huge, I'm a huge fan of all his work.
1:14:00Shannon Sharpe:There will be blood. Yes, Lincoln. Lincoln.
1:14:06Gangs of New York. I mean, the list goes, my left foot, the list goes on. And the third person, like, I would, like, have to sit down with. It would really be dope.
1:14:22Who?
1:14:26Sinatra, Andy Lewis.
1:14:31Luciano Pavarotti.
1:14:36Luciano Pavarotti.
1:14:38Shannon Sharpe:I would like to do it kind of like what I did with Scarface. Prince. Ooh, that's a good one. That's a good one. That's a good one. That's a good one. Because I want to know, you know, Under the Cherry Moon, Pink Cashmere. Sometimes it snows in April. Purple Rain. Erotic City. international lover controversy you know the first question I would ask I would ask how long did it take you to learn to play every god damn instrument all the instruments everyone like you know how difficult it is to learn to play one you know how difficult it is to play the guitar plus everything else man
1:15:33Shannon Sharpe:raspberry beret raspberry Redberry for Ray. Little red Corvette. Starfishing coffee.
1:15:45Redberry for Ray.
1:15:49Shannon Sharpe:Big Mike, what's up, Uncle Nocho? Do you think DK is worth the money? The Steelers are paying him thus far. Well, yeah. Can't get in the ball consistently. He's number one. He is number one.
1:16:03Shannon Sharpe:They know that. Yeah. So they do a great job of doubling when they, you know. They do a great job of making it difficult for Aaron to get him the ball. Because there's nobody else to really take the pressure off of him. There's no legit number two. I'm talking about legit. Well, you know what? Oh, y 'all want to double me? We're going to make sure he hurt you. That goddamn.
1:16:30Shannon Sharpe:Phillip Turner says Steelers last week, super flunky. yeah they and it's not gonna get it either because they still got the Ravens twice. They got us once because we already beat them and y 'all already beat them. That's what we do that's what we gonna do to y 'all too Oh we already gonna beat y 'all Oh you talking about the Ravens? Yeah we gonna win the next one Man Kalen Blakemore said what's up Ogunocho okay you shout out my mom her name is Erica She has a great ending to this year and raising two beautiful children. Love you. Love you. You're the best. Yes, Erica, Kalen wanted to wish you.
1:17:14Shannon Sharpe:He just wanted to say, you know what? My mom, she's been amazing. And I just wanted her to know that she's amazing. So, Erica, if you're watching, you're amazing. You're doing a great job raising two beautiful children. And I can't thank you enough. because that's what Kalen wants you to know, how special you are. So, Kalen, thank you for watching. Thank you for your support. And, Erica, enjoy the rest of 2025. Hell and E, if you need a babysitter, holler at your boy.
1:17:47Shannon Sharpe:Alejandro Castro, y 'all been to the Rose Bowl flea market or played there? No, I have not. What's going on in the Rose Bowl flea market that we need to know about? No, the flea market, huh? You know what the flea market is? You ain't never been to Slauson Swap Me? Yeah. No. The flea market be hitting, boy. I used to hey you know back then you know we used to wear the big white tees yeah I used to get my big white tees when I was at Santa Monica Junior College when I saw some swap meet man I'm assuming you know the Rose Bowl flea market is something like that yeah I'm assuming too Terry Bullard said okay chat if you if you die with Uncle Nocho let's flood the chat with a hashtag 85, love, hashtag 84.
1:18:34Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, do that. We greatly appreciate that. Tito Davis said, blaming the Steelers defense tonight is foul. Colts and the Seahawks not legit to me. Seahawks got to beat Rams next week for me to believe them. The Colts got to beat the Chiefs. Okay. Then when they do that, you're going to say they only beat one good team. We know how this works. All you can do is beat people on your schedule. I think they have the quarterback play. They have the defense. They have the offense. They can run the ball. Jonathan Taylor, they're not one-dimensional. Now, look, I need the Colts to get Buck back because Buck is their best defensive player.
1:19:12Buck?
1:19:13Shannon Sharpe:DeForest Buck. So when he comes back, and now you pair him with – but I think the Colts and Seahawks are legit. I do. I think the Rams are legit also. So we will find out. Like I said, that's the thing, Ocho. We got seven games. Most teams got seven and eight games to go. So we're going to find out in the next month.
1:19:35Shannon Sharpe:Arthur Murray Jr., Seahawks over the Rams next week. Two picks plus five sacks. Okay. Who that chasing the 0-9? What about Tyler Shook performance versus the Panthers? Thought he played well. Thought he played well. That's what you got to have. Who that chasing 0-9? I know you don't think he's the answer, though. No, I don't think either one of them. But based on the way he played well today. I don't need to move forward. I don't need to look too far back. You asked about today, and I thought he played well. 19 or 27, 282, two touchdowns, and he didn't turn the football over. So you can't ask for anything better than that.
1:20:23Shannon Sharpe:Phillip Turner. I need Danny to stop fumbling. Just be Alex Smith. Yes. Yes, you do. You can't turn the ball. Because you pay double for those come playoff times now. Now, the likelihood, you're probably not going to face a quarterback that's Penix Jr. You're going to probably get my homeboy. You're going to probably get Justin Herbert. You're going to probably get Lamar Jackson. Probably Bo Nix with an outstanding defense to back him up. so you turn the ball over you ask him for trouble booby miles oh we need that debate on thanksgiving versus cissy oh that's what so that's what uh uh uh uh y 'all play the uh the ravens oh thanksgiving oh y 'all yeah yeah you know it makes sense it makes sense because the raven is a bird and we playing thank round thanksgiving you know y 'all y 'all finna be straight turkey boy Yeah, y 'all finna be straight turkey, right?
1:21:27I wonder if we were playing at M &T Bank?
1:21:34Right.
1:21:38Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, we got to, that Thursday gets crazy. What Thursday game? Packers at Lions, Chiefs at Cowboys, Bengals at Ravens. You mean I'm finna have a full stomach? we gonna come on the show after I have a full stomach and we beat y 'all? That ain't happening. I'm gonna wear a whole turkey costume. Yeah. Okay. Jimmy Cleveland, shout out to the old show. I need y 'all to call NFL police on Kevin and Lil Dillon. Can't throw accurately, throw the ball in the dirt, dink and dunk. Gabriel, he's sticking it for Baltimore game with Dillon in the Baltimore game. Hold up. They play Cleveland next week? Baltimore.
1:22:24Wait, the Ravens play the Browns next week?
1:22:32Baltimore at Browns. Hey, listen, I know you're going to say, oh, we finna beat the brakes off of them. Denley Gabriel's not the answer. He's not playing well. Watch the Browns win that game.
1:22:44Shannon Sharpe:You can hope that, but that ain't happening. I was just saying, it's the floor. Yeah, if Myles Garrett's have 10 sacks, they can win. It's the floor of the season, it's the way it happened. People thought, listen, the Dolphins was playing the Bills. Everybody named Mama. Oh, the Dolphins bad this year. They only won three games. Oh, the Bills and whooped them. Well, I guarantee you. Wow. Next week. Yeah. That ain't happening, Ocho. I know that's wishful thinking. Triple F's cop Saturday says on December 21st, Ocho's going to have half a Bengals jersey, half a Dolphins jersey. So do them. Hey, that's Christmas time.
1:23:18Four days before Christmas?
1:23:23you started Christmas shopping yet yeah I already told him
1:23:29Shannon Sharpe:ain't nothing coming out Merry Christmas
1:23:36Dr.
1:23:36Shannon Sharpe:Frank L. Bellamy say hey fam just said hello y 'all doing good Doc we doing amazing better than your Cowboys hold on who the Cowboys play this week next week this week
1:23:54Shannon Sharpe:I know they don't know about this week, but who they play next week?
1:23:59Shannon Sharpe:Oh, man. Where? Oh, Lord. All right, Doc, y 'all about to get another win. Y 'all play at the Raiders. Not, you know what? Max probably about to have four sacks, though. You know, given what they've gone through the last week, Ocho, with the tragic past of Marshawn Leland, you know what? They might rise up. They might put a little string together. Possibly. I can see that. But they right tackle? Mm-mm. Boy, they got some things to fix over there, boy. They do. True and infamous 73, Justin Fields was three of five for five yards in the first half. God! Bro, an old man can throw the ball more than 10 yards.
1:24:49what it's the nfl man
1:24:55Shannon Sharpe:man they throw the ball but more than that in the 40s brendan crow if you guys were in charge of cleveland what all changes were you making after the season the incompetence at all level is too much can't run that back nope i'm cleaning the house i'm cleaning the house too matter of fact if i had the money i'd buy the browns No, we ain't got that kind of money. I'm just saying, hypothetically speaking.
1:25:23Shannon Sharpe:Hey, Samuel LeGrand. Hey, Lovelace is crazy. Loveland, I think that's his name. That's what we corrected that, but okay. Yeah, appreciate that. Christopher Evans Jr., Trey Henderson, looking like Lightning McQueen versus Tampa. Big win for us. Got to keep it going. Bro. He got speed now. Who that? He can pick him up and put him down. He did. That was very, very, very impressive. Just minimized the turnovers. But Brable is a guy I would like to play for. He got that team playing very well. Goddamn Drake May is the real deal. Phillip Turner said, just make it MBQ, most valuable quarterback. not MVP.
1:26:14Shannon Sharpe:Only them can win. That seems to be the case right now, bro. It really does. Because you go back and look. Look at what Adrian Peterson won. Look at who his quarterback was. It was Christian Ponder. Look at his stats. Look at Adrian Peterson. Hey, that was one hell of a season, though, bro. Yes! But let's just put together Peyton Manning's 5 ,000-yard season with 50 touchdowns. He went in MVP? No. Mahomes, 5 ,000, 50 touchdowns, 10 interceptions. He went in MVP? No.
1:26:53Shannon Sharpe:When Lamar Jackson had 40 touchdowns, I mean, you look at these guys' numbers, Ocho. Josh Allen, 30, got 35 passing touchdowns, 10 rushing touchdowns. It's going to be hard. It's going to be hard for a running back to win. I'm not saying it can't be done.
1:27:14Shannon Sharpe:Jonathan Taylor break Eric Dickerson record has 25 or more touchdowns. He gonna win the MVP. You heard it here first. Nunez, Uncle Nocho, is there going to be a nightcap World Cup edition next year? Messi's going back to back, Ocho. You and I'm aligned taking it all this year, Ocho.
1:27:36Shannon Sharpe:We'll see. That's Ocho expertise. I'm gonna have to get Somebody on here with Ocho to do nightcap World Cup edition. Mike Banks said, oh, me and Coach Johnson at it again. I like well done steak. He likes medium rare. Am I tripping? Hell yeah. Nobody want that damn hockey puck. Medium rare? I like mine medium. I like mine medium well. Butterfly, you know, little butter. Sometimes you can get it medium plus, but just give me medium. I don't want it rare. I don't want it medium rare. I want medium. Okay, okay. I mean, you know, Ash wanted her, the good vet could have saved it. You know what I'm saying?
1:28:17Shannon Sharpe:Nah, I'm good.
1:28:22Shannon Sharpe:Sam Black, my past segments are getting shorter and shorter. Sam. Nah, hey, look. You guys are real. I mean, you know, this is why Mr. Kraft made that decision. But it all turned around I believe Coach Belichick might have could have held on to that job. But it's pride. You're going to take two guys that's never called offensive plays. See, that's where the arrogance come in at. You're going to take two guys. One was a special teams coach, never called a play, except return left, return right, block left, block right, and then a defensive coordinator, and you're going to have them call offensive plays.
1:29:05Shannon Sharpe:After your guy goes to the Pro Bowl, after your guy goes 10-6, and you win a playoff game. And this is what you do to him? It was his arrogance. It was his arrogance. Mac Jones can play. I'm not saying he's the second coming of Tom Brady. Hell, I don't believe Drake May is the second coming of Tom Brady. But you see the difference between Drake May when Drake May got Josh McDaniels calling plays for him versus Mac Jones getting Joe Judge and what's the D coordinator for him? What's his name? I forget his name. He went to Detroit, the head coach. Matt Patricia. Oh, Matt. You see the difference?
1:29:54Shannon Sharpe:But guess what? If you guys keep winning, we're going to talk about y 'all every week, Sam. Red Eye, first powerlifting competition. Soon, any advice? Yes, be conservative on your first lift. Be strong, like me. Hey, make sure you got all – make sure everything is what it's supposed to be. You know, get your rest. You'll get plenty of time. I mean, hey, man, them powerlifting meets, man. Them things be taken forever. You lift once, you might not lift again for another 15, 20 minutes. Joshua Throng said, Ocho, I saw your camera go out yesterday. I'm still here. Your tech got big dog problems. California, but I can help from here troubleshoot.
1:30:44Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, man, he don't take no for an answer. Saucy D, Melissa ran the table this year and got slighted from not being a finalist. I agree. 1 ,000%. How's Melissa Jefferson? She lost one race all year long. She got the five fastest time in the 100 meters. She sweeped the world championship in the 100 and 200, and she was on the winning four by one. And you mean to tell me she's not? Listen, this is not a knock on any of the women that was nominated, but she got to be a finalist. If she's not a finalist, I don't know who is. She should have been a finalist. You get no qualms from me. Sid doing what she did in the 400 meters I can understand She challenged a record That many thought would be Unbreakable, untouchable Her, Paulino Nassar El-Sawi That was a race for the ages You had two women go under 48 seconds When you had only had two women Ever go under 48 seconds And you had two go And Sid goes 47-78 which is not a takeoff of that 4760 by Matarina Coke.
1:32:02Shannon Sharpe:But, yeah, Melissa definitely should have been a finalist. She absolutely should have been a finalist. And this is not a knock on Femke. Femke is going to go up to the 800 meters. She says she's not going to run her specialty, which is the hurdles. She's going up to 800. But we know if Sid is in that, she ain't winning no world championship. And she ain't going to have all those fast time. Sid is focusing on something else. Sid says, you know what, I want to be the greatest. I want to be. Right now, that's Shelly Ann Frazier-Price. Shelly Ann Frazier-Price is the greatest female track and field athlete there is.
1:32:35Shannon Sharpe:You look at what she's done in the Olympics. You look at what she's done in the World Championships. And you look at the longevity in which she's had. She's the best. But if Sid holds the world record in the 400 hurdles and the 400 meters, and she wins a gold medal, yeah that's it that's enough for me that's enough for me and i still believe she's gonna she's gonna go back to the hurdles and go under 49 because now what we know because we had never seen her run 48 before in the open four she's run sub 48 which lets her know she can run sub 50 in the hurdles. She goes sub 50 in the hurdles. She's already gone sub 48 once.
1:33:19Shannon Sharpe:She gets that world record. And she might double. She might do both of them in 28. If they give her enough time, you let her recover. In between to recover? It's Laura Sterling. Can you wish my wonderful mother and a recent cancer survivor, Miss Nettie Morris, a happy 83rd birthday? Yes, we can, Laura Sterling. Miss Nettie, happy 83rd birthday, and congratulations for beating cancer. Man, F cancer. Nobody cares about cancer. I wish we could eradicate it, but unfortunately we haven't found a way to wipe it out, but we're trying. But Miss Nettie, happy, huh? Happy, happy 83rd birthday. And guess what?
1:34:06Shannon Sharpe:Many, many more to come. Congratulations on beating cancer. Double A, greetings from Tijuana, Mexico. code. This show is the best. One question. How important is an O-line and how can you tell an outstanding offensive O-line talent? Or it is of the utmost importance. It is the most important thing you can have on offense. Because I don't give a damn who your quarterback is because if they can't block for you or open holes for the running back, you ain't doing nothing. Games are won. Games are won in the trenches. Games are won and lost in the trenches. Your front line, your back, your defensive line, either way.
1:34:41Everything starts there.
1:34:43Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that is the most important. Thank you guys for joining us for another episode of Nightcap. I'm your favorite dog, Shannon Sharpe, my partner and co-host. 1:35:59Shannon Sharpe:Browns lose to the Jets 27-20. Kevin Stefanski said they're sticking with Dylan Gabriel. Jonathan Taylor runs for 244 yards and three touchdowns as the Colts win in overtime 31-25. Matthew Stafford throws for another four, has four touchdowns, no interception, as they beat the 49ers. Matthew Stafford has three straight games in which he's thrown 12 total touchdowns, zero interceptions. Three straight games with at least four touchdowns and zero interceptions. That's the first time that's been done in NFL history. Patriots beat the Buccaneers 28-23. And the Bears rally past the Giants 24-20. Thank you guys for joining us.
