In short

The episode debates how NBA teams build talent and culture, using LeBron/Lakers speculation, Hornets roster changes, and Pistons/Cade/KD trade ideas. Hosts argue American youth sports are over-recruiting “pure talent” without fundamentals, chemistry, or continuity; they contrast today’s 9–10-year-old training with their own dirt-court, chain-net, and streetlight-lit play. They discuss ring culture in sports: championships matter, but rings shouldn’t automatically make players better than greats without rings (examples: Charles Barkley vs ring winners; Kenny Walker vs Barry Sanders; Neymar vs past Brazilian legends like Pelé/R9/Ronaldinho). NBA segments: Rick Bucher’s claim that Lakers planned to move on from LeBron after acquiring Luka is challenged; value is framed as “what someone will pay,” not self-set. Guests/participants: “Rick Bucher” is referenced; “Mario Chalmers” is quoted predicting LeBron to Warriors or Miami. Also discussed: Ben Wallace on 2004 Pistons not doing a 2016 Cavs-style reunion; Adam Franklestein’s report that Hornets traded LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges to remove “bad influences,” aiming for a more professional culture around Brandon Miller and Nick Smith Jr.

Key claims

two-star maxing is unsustainable; KD with Cade could solve Detroit’s scoring, but roster constraints make it unlikely.

0:00So, and that's the problem in itself right there. Yes. You know, but I do think you can develop these kids, man. I think obviously it takes a lot of time and work, but you know, you can put in that fundamental development to where these guys come out and really know how to play the game. See right now, we're so talented as Americans that we don't really get taught lessons no more. Think about it. In high school now, they go recruit you. We're going to pay you a hundred K. I want you to come play in two tournaments. We know you got talent, but we ain't going to be, you know what I mean? We just want you to come play in two tournaments.

0:35Ocho, you might be in another city. We're going to pay you$100K to come. Come on, man. It's chemistry, continuity. We just based off rolling the ball out there. Pure talent, you know, going to play. Ain't nobody really breaking the game down to these kids. I mean, it's a few people here and there, but they need that development, man, because we behind when it comes to form. That's why they didn't caught up with us. But you know what happened, Joe? Is that when we were growing up, whatever school district you went in, that's the high school you went in. You couldn't go play for somebody else because they had a better team in football or a better team in basketball, better track, better baseball.

1:13You played, if your district was sorry, well, your school just sorry. It was really that simple. And back then, nobody played. We played sports, not even thinking about no damn NBA or NFL. We played because we loved, hey, man, Ocho, man, you gonna play football? Yeah, I'm gonna go play too. Ask my grandma, can I play? Joe, you playing? You going out for basketball? Yeah, I'm going to ask my mom, can I play? Now, you got kids out there. They got trainers, Joe, nine, 10 years old. Hello. Yeah. Yeah. We worked on dribbling on a dirt, shooting on an old bicycle rim. We done knocked all the spokes out, the toe piece of plywood out the barn, cut a tree down, an oak tree, a medium-sized oak tree, and tacked it up, and that was our goal.

2:01Man, I remember when Mama bought me a spanking, a rim from Western Auto. I don't know if they still got Western Autos, but they used to have Western Autos, and you could buy basketball rims. Man, we bought a basketball rim, and we got a chain net. Oh, man. What? Boy, you could hit me in the ass with a red apple, Joe. You couldn't tell me nothing. A chain net? A chain net different. Hey, that sound different. Hey, look, see, where my pop's family is and sweet homes, that ain't far from where my neighborhood is, but we had crates. We had crates on the light pole, Uncle Ocho. Milk crates, homie. You know what I mean?

2:45A little dirt court. Yeah. Yeah, we used to be getting down. Yeah. Yes. That's what we learned to play. And then, you know, they had the wrecks on them, But see, at the rec, Joe, once it got dark, you had to put money in for the lights to come on. So you had to put, you had to like, for like 30 minutes, it cost you like 50, 75 cents. And once them lights get up, they start making a noise. Man, who got a quarter? Who got a quarter? Ain't nobody got no quarter. Them thing go dark. Game over. Hey, hey, I remember that, boy. When them street lights came on, my mama was outside looking for me. hell I had to be in that house by the time the damn street light came on now.

3:30Oh yeah. And the thing Joe, I remember I used to ride my bicycle to the park. So I would ride my bicycle to the park even after I got off work. So I would ride my bicycle to the park and then my sister come by see if I was still playing. I put my bicycle in the trunk of the car and she'd take me home. That's how bad I wanted to play. Man these kids don't drive. I don't even know kids even got a bike now. Yeah man it's bad now.

3:58Rick Bucher says Laker planned on getting rid of LeBron ever since they acquired Luka, and he finds it funny his exit was framed as LeBron telling the Lakers he was leaving. Wow, Rick, you're breaking news. I mean, that's a way to go out of the limb. So let me ask you a question. If they didn't get Luka, we understand that LeBron does not have the same cachet at 41, almost 42. He had it 25. Yeah. So let me ask you a question, Mr. Buker. And Rick was on undisputed. If they the same age, are they getting with a LeBron? No. So you make it seem it's like any work employment. More times than not, what happens, Joe?

4:43Ocho, the younger guy takes the older guy spot. It's always been that way. That's just the way it is. Always been that way. Sports, corporate world, business. Nobody is under the impression that LeBron James, at almost 42 years of age, is the same player. He's not. I've never said that, and I've been one of his staunchest supporters. I know he's not. And it should be Luka's team. Everybody knew that. We knew that was what they wanted. They was hoping AD was going to be able to be that bridge because when Kobe retired, as Kobe started getting hurt and he ends up retiring, they didn't have a bridge.

5:26Because see, they had a bridge from Kareem to Magic. Because you think about how it worked out. They had West and they had Chamberlain, what had Elgin Baylor, and then they had Jerry West, and then they get Chamberlain. And then you get Kareem, and then you get Magic, and you get Worthy. And all of a sudden, a couple of years later, here comes Shaq and Kobe. And Shaq leaving. You still got Kobe, and you got Powell. and then they didn't have anything to fill that gap in. And then you got LeBron. And they say, you know what, we got LeBron for several years, but now we got AD, and AD will be the bridge.

5:58AD couldn't stay healthy. So now it's like we really need somebody. The Lakers, you got to have a star. That's the only way it works in LA. You got to have a star. They've always had it. It's Tinseltown. So now they have their star for the next, if he can stay healthy for the next, what, seven, ten years. He got some pressure on his ass, too. I can't blame him. Who fought in the Lakers for the decision that they made? I want to know who in their right mind fought in the Lakers. Nobody. Nobody. But him going out of this notion, ever since they acquired – Wow. You know what, Ocho? Yeah. I plan – Shannon had a plan on retiring ever since he won the lottery.

6:44No ish. Of course. You went five. You went 500 million. Yeah. Ever since he won the lottery, he playing over. Yep. You're absolutely right. I did. I did. So I don't. I mean, look, he's he. He's never been a LeBron fan, and that's fine. But I think, you know, to go out here and try to frame it like this, he just tell them, you know, I'm not coming back. They knew that they had offered him something. I don't know in the sense now that LeBron would take, you know, minimum whatever the case may be. LeBron know there was not 50. Joe, he knew there was not 30, 40, 50 million dollars out there for him.

7:25Best case scenario, you're talking about maybe 15. Maybe somebody could give you 20. Maybe. But if you get 20, you're not going to be able to go anywhere and win. But the most, the most was 15. That's max. He knew that. You think he knew that? Yes. Now, he probably could go somewhere, a Sacramento, and get big bucks. But that's just a ticket draw. You're not finna win. The only reason why I say that, because when I think about LeBron, Uncle Ocho, I really don't think he thinks it's a player out there that is better than him or more cerebral, more important than him if you add him to it. There's not.

8:05But you don't get to determine your value. Somebody else does. Yes. So when people keep saying, oh, I know my value, your values are based on what someone is willing to pay for it yeah and and most of the time the value that people set on themselves is always unrealistic because no one's willing to pay for it you wouldn't have to set that value because it will be paid for give your prime example pokemon cards me you joe ocho we ain't paying no damn five million dollars for no pokemon card but somebody would yeah these jordan card these these uh uh uh not these 10 card uh uh jordan cards. Somebody paying$10,$12 million for, I ain't paying that for no card.

8:43But it's valuable to somebody. Somebody, you don't sit your value. Someone else, what someone is willing to pay is your value. So how LeBron thinks about himself, I still believe he believes he's a top five, top ten player. I still believe he believes he's one of the two or three smartest players in the NBA currently. But guess what? He can't pay himself. And he's 42 years of age. and somebody else is going to set that value. We look at a car. Man, I wish I might pay a million dollars for that. But go down to Mecham. Go to Barrett-Jackson, and you'll see cars going across the lot, 15 million, 12 million.

9:29Go get that 250 GT and see what's going for, 30, 40, 50 million dollars. So value, what's valuable to you might not be valuable to me. What Ocho has value on. Ocho said cigars are valuable to me.

9:50Joe, I ain't, you know. You know what's valuable to Joe. Namaste. You know what I'm saying? Hey, Ocho. All right, all right, all right. but I'm but I mean I wouldn't like like I said I mean I'm looking at some of this stuff like a Pokemon card don't you yeah yeah I mean people playing people got what a Shohei or Tani card I think with five million dollars in jerseys go man come on man to hang somebody's jersey up on the wall man I'm not finna pay no four five million dollars for that hell no but somebody will I don't begrudge it because everybody, you know what I say? Man, even if I had the money.

10:35Stop saying that. You see, Ocho, we were all those same people working with Joe. Man, ain't no way I paid$100 ,000 for no car. Man, I wish I might pay two million. What? Hold on. Somebody paid$500 for some sneakers? Man, they out their damn mind. So, it's easy to say what you won't do because you're not in that situation to do.

11:03Right. I said the same thing. I said the same thing. Man, ain't no way I'm paying this here for that, this here for that. Let me give me a little piece of money. Let them old people say, let me give me a little piece of money and I'll show you what I do. I'll show you exactly what I do. But Joe, you think LeBron think he about to get$30 million? He understands that. No, Anki understands that. I'm not saying that, but I think he think he is very valuable, which he is to - He is. But Ocho, Joe, again, the value is based on what? Who determined that? He don't get determined that. Yeah, what's someone's willing to pay?

11:45Hey, hey, this is why it's gonna fuel him to come out and tell us something that we ain't never seen again before. We done seen it all, Joe. You ain't seen no 41, 42-year-old man out there running down. You ain't seen that. We just saw it last year. What you talking about? We seen it the year before that. Matter of fact, we seen it. We seen it the year before that. In the year, in the year, in the year. Hell, we done seen it since he came in the league. He's exceeded all our expectations, including his own. What more can he do? He shouldn't have to prove himself at this point at 42. It may be going to be 42 running up and down that court like that, bro.

12:22I think. Hey, let me tell you where he gonna be at. He gonna be at the Casaya Center. Come on down here and check him out. Hey, all them people that talk about they wouldn't do this. Joe, how much they pay for an iPhone? That damn iPhone. But they wouldn't spend. But hey, think about it now. If somebody would have told you 20 years ago, 25 years ago, that you'd be paying$1 ,000,$1 ,500,$2 ,000 for a cell phone, what would you have said? No, sir. Now, everybody ain't making a million that got those thousand,$1 ,500,$2 ,000 cell phones. So imagine if you making 50 million, 100 million, a quarter of a billion, and you tell me, oh, I'm still gonna drive my Buick.

13:09I'm still gonna drive this. I'm still gonna live. Stop it. Just stop it, people. Yeah, yeah. I don't know. See, y 'all get up there, y 'all say, what? Come on. Cause half the, you're living outside your means anyway, and you don't got it. Hey, I ain't gonna lie to y 'all though. What we on, iPhone 16? I think it is. I think I'm still on 14. I'm on 13. Hold on, time out, time out, time out, time out, time out. I got a question. How you on the 13? How you on the 14? And Apple purposely slows down the program and forced you to update. That's all. Don't worry about it. They can keep slowing it down.

13:44I'll slow down too. I'll take my time and die out of nowhere. Hey, fam. Hey, I ain't lying. Listen. I mean, you're not finna rush me to keep buying the phone. Hey, cuz I buy the phone, cuz, Ocho, I don't trade my phone back in, I keep the phone. Yeah. Hey, as a matter of fact, my sister got the damn eight of the nine. I gave her my eight of the nine. Ocho, but you're right. They start slowing your phone down. When you. Yeah. That's okay. I ain't even gonna take all day to go, Damon, I'm gonna be right here waiting. I swear, man, this is 13, bro. I got 13. Yeah. I ain't lying. Look, but everybody in the house got damn 16 to 17.

14:28Yeah, I'm running right here with a 13. Come on, man. Hey, hey, hey. Man, I text you. Huh? Hey, but the text come through about two days later. Oh, damn. Hey, listen. And plus, you know you already had your app downloaded. Man, I don't want to fuck you all in, bro. Come on. I would literally have to have Shelly and Jordan here to do everything because I don't know the password. I don't know nothing. Hey, I got a question, Uncle. Yeah. And it's easy for you and Joe to break this down for me, right? Senior earlier, I said, as far as my Brazilian legends and my favorite players, I obviously put part of the World Cup team.

15:12I put Neymar third. And somebody got upset, and I answered back on Twitter, even though we're in the middle of the show, and they started mentioning players that have won a World Cup with Brazil. Brazil, yeah. But I'm thinking from individual talent in general, the players that they name outside of maybe R9 and Pelé and Ronaldinho, they're not better than Neymar, but they're saying because they won a World Cup, they're better. We've been saying that. Huh? We've been saying that. Just because you won a championship, that doesn't make you better than some of the greats. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Thank you.

15:45I just, I mean, you can make more sense. So in other words, Kenny Walker is better than Barry Sanders. He won a Super Bowl, and he's a Super Bowl MVP. Would you take Kenny Walker over Barry Sanders? Thank you. Okay. You wouldn't. You wouldn't. They're just saying certain players. Calvin Johnson never won a championship. Right. Larry Fitzgerald never won a championship. So are you saying some of these guys that's won championships are better than Fitz, better than Megatron? Yeah. Better than Julio? Better than T.O. That's not. Yeah, I mean we put the person the person is saying it's very well. We've turned into a ring culture If you get a ring that means you're big not granted if we're debating players that have rings, right?

16:29Yeah, that's different I don't believe it's hard for me to put somebody at the you got to be Exponentially great. You got a bad bonds great before I even put you in a discussion as the greatest You can be great without a ring, but EST great test. Yes There is difference. And people got confused when I said that. I said, no, I'm not saying that you can't be great without a ring. I'm saying when I add that EST to it, for me, some people say, nah, good. But I'm saying. So, nah, nah, I agree with you on that, Ocho. Just because someone has a ring, and we do, come on now. Really? That's what we're doing?

17:12We got to stop. I don't know. I hate when they do that because obviously, you know, winning the World Cup, winning the Boulogne Dior, obviously that's the individual's accomplishment. But I think people are mistaking because it's Neymar. They're forgetting how special he was during this time. OK, he wasn't able to win the World Cup. And those players that came before him that were, I mean, Ronaldo, R9, better. I mean, Ronaldinho, I mean, Pele, better. But from an individual standpoint, we're not going to see him just because he never won the World Cup and diminish his greatness because he didn't.

17:44Man, stop playing. Well, that's where we are now, Ocho. That's where we are now, Joe. That's where we are now, Ocho. It's all about rings. It's all about rings. Somebody got five. And it never used to be like that. Nobody ever said Havlicek was the greatest. Havlicek is 8-0 in NBA Finals. Sam Jones is 10. Got 10. Look at all those Celtics. He's got 11, 10, 9, 8, Heinsohn, 8-0. have the check eight no nobody ever did that rings are a great team accomplishment they are and i don't want to i don't want to diminish a team accomplishment because you play a team sport that is the ultimate goal that is the ultimate goal that's why you play if you want to be an individual you need to play golf you play tennis you need to play something that is just you you yeah but when we're talking about a team sport.

18:42Nah, I'm not willing to just say something because somebody has a ring, they're better. Because there are a lot of guys that have rings and all of a sudden we're going to say, oh, they're better than Charles Barkley. They're better than Carl Malone. Man, stop. Right. That's just me. Now, hey, some people might say, hey. I'm with you, man. Hey, ring is the end all be all? Okay, to each his own. But I don't judge it like that. because now you're saying Trent deal for Brad Johnson, won Super Bowl, deal better than Dan Marino. That's what you're saying. He got a ring. Who's saying that? Hey, hold on.

19:19How many rings Robert already got? Huh? Seven. He better than Kyle Malone and Charles Barker. He's not.

19:32Hey. Yeah. But I don't know. I don't know. I mean, to each – whatever your criteria is. I'm old enough to remember and see a lot of these – some of these guys play. Now, I don't go back too far, but probably from – like from 77, I can remember like baseball, football, and basketball. I got a clear – I remember OJ. We didn't really follow – I didn't really follow the Super Bowl like that, but I remember my grandfather taking us over to Grandma Lou house because they can get Channel 22. Channel 22 was ABC. Why are you laughing? They could get Channel 22, which was ABC, and that was the game that Monday Night Football came on.

20:14So we could go over there and we could watch OJ. When OJ would come on on Monday Night Football, we could see him. So about 77 I can remember. But as far as baseball players, until Shohei Ohtani came along, Barry Bonds was the greatest player I had ever seen. I ain't never seen anybody. I've never seen anybody. I mean, he'd get one pitch, maybe two. Maybe two. He's going to make it do what it do. He's going to hit it hard off the fence or he's going to put it in the McCovey Cove. I've never – and we won't ever see anything like that again. We'll never see anything like Barrett. And I think Shohei, because Shohei can pitch, so he can go out there and give you nine innings and strike out 11-12, and then he can go hit two, three home runs.

21:03but as far as hitting the baseball I ain't never seen anything like Barry Bonds I ain't never seen anything like Barry Bonds and I'm talking about I've seen a lot I've seen a lot of great hitters Tony Gwynn Wade Boggs I caught the tail end of Rod Carew Kirby Puckett I've seen a lot of great hitters I ain't never seen anything like Barry Bonds nothing they hand eye coordination a little different ain't it Hey He could hit for power He could hit for average He could run the base pads He got eight gold gloves He could Hey, hey, hey Uncle Joe You think you can go in the batting cage And hit something come in 95 at you?

21:46Me? No You asking Can I do it Ocho? Yeah Yeah, I can hit something at 95 Now that's what I don't like How you gonna ask somebody a question Then when they answer the question You got to give me all these emotions. Man, after you ask me a question, I get your answer. All right, Joe, you're right. Damn.

22:11No. Hey. Mario Chalmers says he has a gut feeling that LeBron James is going to sign with the Warriors. I really think it's between Golden State and Miami. But just knowing Bron and being his teammate before and the way he approaches the game, those are the two spots where I think he has the best chance of winning I want to say Miami but I have a gut feeling that it might be Golden State I don't man what is what Mario called my phone man called my phone man you talk about he used to be a teammate way back when his mindset was different the circumstances are completely different when he used to be a teammate huh we talk about a 42 to your LeBron.

22:54You know, going, I mean, why would you go? Go ahead, I'm going to let you finish because they about to piss me off. This Ocho, this Joe, this Joe Toppy. Joe, what you thinking? The Warriors thing is very intriguing. I wouldn't mind seeing him and Steph and Draymond. I ain't going to lie. That would be nice. But in that Western Conference, I don't think Bron Bron probably like, nah, I ain't really. I'm going to go out here. I say Miami and then Cleveland. I got them two in a row. I just think considering Cleveland is home. I mean, for him to be able to go back there and insert himself into that with those starters that they already have, bro, they're going to be the top three team in the Eastern Conference.

23:40Same thing if you go to Miami, Ocho. I just think going to Miami, he'll be able to have more ball handling duties to where he's able to kind of facilitate more as opposed to Cleveland. You got Donovan and James Harden. And James Harden, yeah. They both volume scores, volume shooters. I just don't know how that's going to work.

24:07Yeah.

24:11I don't know. Real talk. I've been trying to stop guessing what LeBron's going to do. Because he's going to do what he wants to do. He don't care about what the public thinks. He doesn't care about what critics think. He doesn't care about what anybody thinks, but what he thinks. Obviously, you're bouncing by Savannah. Savannah good. I just, she got a new thing going on with Jay-Z. Venture Capitalist Group backing it. So she got her own thing going on. You're good there.

24:50Considering Bryce is at Arizona, Brian is in LA. It seems like staying on this side of the country, you know what I'm saying, Joe? Yeah. Makes sense. But... But you, I mean, but when you hear the report saying that Cleveland can go trade for Brian, I mean, if Cleveland do that, I think we automatically already know where he's going. Yeah. Hey, sometime to catch a lion, you got to use your best goat. Hello. Hey. I don't know, man. I just think wherever he goes, Uncle Ocho, he going to change the landscape of hoops because if he throw a monkey wrench in that monkey, he go to Philly. I mean, it's virtually.

25:38Man, that's too far. I can't get to Philly. Hey, look, you got to take your emotions out of this one. I can't get the fit. I can go to go to state. I ain't no, but no quick fight right up the street, right up the street. That's what you thinking about. Then, nah. You ain't. What you thought I was thinking about? You might want to get ready to pack your bags and come east, baby. Yeah, that boy coming. He coming east in conference, man. I'm telling y 'all. He going east, watch. He going east.

26:06I just, uh. Man, I mean, I, man, can you, can you imagine the look Steph gon' get? Nah. still by everybody 33 them go clean looks he get no no he's gonna he get some great looks i'm worried about ocho talking if he go to miami though that's why i really don't want him to go to i don't know what you're worried about joe i didn't be right hey i didn't talk listen i used you notice i'm sitting here relaxing i'm sitting back in my chair i'm letting y 'all you know go back and forth on you know your hypotheticals on where you might be and i'm just sitting here listening because i already i already know where you're going see y 'all thinking with your emotions and not using logic huh because the man still has to play 82 games huh you think he want to play 82 games in the goddamn west dealing with them boys i didn't explain it to y 'all over and over yeah that's what the competitor want to do huh yeah would you have wanted to play in any other division other than the afc north dealing with pittsburgh and baltimore would you want to play anywhere else oh cho uh uh when i'm in my 20s and 20s i don't mind right now if I was still playing no get me up out of there I don't want no part of that I want the a a Joe I want the easiest route for me to contend for another rain and it ain't anywhere in the West you see the man saying he have a two winning seasons in Cincinnati here hell yeah he got that damn come hey come on over there get you some wins somewhere man come on man hey don't worry about it I get what I needed to do no matter what wins or losses Yeah.

27:34But, yeah. Ben Wallace says the 2004 Pistons will not take an anniversary vacation like the 2016 Cavaliers. We all a little bit different. We grew up in a little different era. Joe, I'm going to start at you first, and now I'm going to swing at you, Ocho. What you thinking, Joe? Ben Wallace, old school, bro. But, you know, that's a testament to Bron, though. Bron a fun-loving dude, man. He enjoyed being around them cats, and they enjoyed being around him. I just think it's different. not to say that piston scene didn't hang out because i'm sure they did but what year was that oh four they want to know what was that oh three they want uh that was oh yeah that was they wanted oh four yeah they wanted oh uh they wanted what 2001 two and then three and then yeah yeah because I think the Pistons won in four right?

28:30I think so 2004 or the Pistons won in three Lakers won in 2001 2003 yeah they I'm trying to think I'm trying to think but it's different now look the way we think these guys first of all y 'all guys old, y 'all decrepit y 'all gonna need wheelchairs to get around anyway ain't nobody pushing nobody, these guys still in their 30s, Bron is the oldest one at 41 most of these guys in their mid 30s maybe Richard, I think Richard Jefferson came in the league before LeBron Richard gotta be, he's about 46 yeah Richard, because Richard played like 2-3 years in college, but look, it's a different time now, and look, and for me and I think he said look we like that we don't really be traveling like that that's what I took it because when you win a championship you're just naturally close it just is you have a bond you have something that tied you together that nobody that's unbreakable hey but you know what I think that would be dope though that would be dope for them to do that so I'm looking at that roster from back in the days I think it'd be dope so I'm thinking of the people that I know Tayshawn Prince, Ben Wallace Rasheed Wallace is fun that's my dog, that's my homeboy Rasheed, she had Chauncey Billups I can see them rip Hamilton I can see them hanging out you know, hey, say y 'all boy take y 'all a little trip man, get back together man you know, rehash the fun you know, sit back some of them got grandkids what that mean?

30:19man, they ain't going nowhere no, not streaming just, I mean you know, just come on, man. Little unity, baby. Like, hey, when you're in high school, when you graduate, Joe, what they got every 10 years? Reunion. Hey, what we talking about? I know Ben, I know they - We just had hours, but I don't think I - I ain't going to reunion. Yeah. Hey, them boys, them boys, hey, they from a different era. They think different. And obviously, I mean, it's cool, but I think that would be dope, though, man. Hey, Ben, hey, Ben, man. Hey, you might need to set that thing up, man. Y 'all boys get together, man.

30:52They ain't going nowhere. and going out of the country? You might get them to go to Miami or something. You might get them to go somewhere in the U.S. They're not going out of no country, Ocho. Oh, okay, yeah. They got bread. Ocho, you know, they probably took private planes. They're taking helicopter rides, and they buy – they ordering five$10 ,000 bottles of wine. They're saving in a cash. Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. Come on. Come on. You just said that to order who? Yeah. Five,$10 ,000 bottles. They're drinking Patruse. They're drinking Rothschild. they drank in bordeaux wait who the hell pay for goddamn wine that goddamn those guys that's over there you know tristan said hey hey i got this bottle you got the next bottle they got rounds of golf yeah nobody man nobody paying no five ten thousand for no man please and they hey they over there with the king they over there he got what do you mean oh oh they drink like that they You're living in castles and stuff over there, Ocho.

31:50Yeah. Ain't nobody got time for that shit, man. You know what I could do with five,$10 ,000 off, man? Oh, now you dip it down. You wouldn't want to go over there and have a good time like that? Me having a good time cost me about$150. It don't cost me five,$10 ,000. Not overseas, it ain't gonna cost you no$150. Come again? It ain't gonna cost you no$150 overseas. He talking about when you go to Tussie. Nah, I'm talking about smoking a cigar. Cigar didn't cost that goddamn much. No, but I'm saying, I'm saying, look. I don't drink, Unc. I don't drink. But I'm saying, you like nice food. Me? Yes.

32:26You be getting that wagon steak. You be getting that Scotty salmon. I only did that because it was your birthday. What about me? The way I look at it, look. When you've accomplished something, they came down from 3-1 in the finals. No team has ever done that in NBA history. That's special. That's special. It's a little easier for a basketball team as opposed to trying to get a damn football team together, Ocho. You know what I'm saying? Now, maybe you get the offense. But to try to – come on now. What's the likelihood, even if it's in the States, of you getting all 53 members of your football team to show up someplace, Ocho?

33:11Right. Hell, you couldn't get that, and it was right there in Cincinnati. let alone a whole new state hey it's just it's just a different time now those guys think differently I mean we've been trying to play something the Bronco team but it's just our group we had a group of guys we had about seven eight guys that we kind of like we came to Vegas we came to Vegas together we did stuff together and they like and I just don't trust them Huh? I told him, I said, when y 'all get here, call me. Cause y 'all know me. If I go somewhere and y 'all don't show y 'all black ass up.

33:53That's the end of this shit. You mean like Joe did us? Yeah, you know what? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Man, don't let that man come between us, lady. See what I'm talking about? How you going, hey, hey, damn, Ojo.

34:14yeah hey Jordan you say hey hey he's like boss you could I could have I could have went with y 'all you know the better you know I'd have been just like you I said yeah y 'all gotta chill y 'all gotta chill Jordan don't act like that Jordan

34:30but it but it but it look it's easier the smaller the group the easier it is to move around hey well hold on you know what else at least that's what I thought Ocho I thought three would be no problem. Hey, who you telling? Who you telling? I get, hey. You see, I get it. Matter of fact, you know, it's a little easier too when you got money long like LeBron, boy. You know, you can take your boys out, man. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. If you think LeBron funded that trip, everybody, hey, everybody swung their own way. Everybody paid for their way to get over there. Everybody paid for their room. Yeah, he might have bought a couple of bottles.

35:04Yeah. I bet you everybody else bought a couple of bottles also. I got you. I got you. I got you. You think LeBron cheaper than me? Yeah. Nah. For him to have the kind of money that he has, he absolutely is cheaper to you. Nah. Yes. Nah. I ain't buying that. Oh, so the man don't got no apps on his phone. The man don't play, don't play no, when he go out of the country, he don't play no data player. Hey, ain't no athlete on this earth that's ever played a sport cheaper than I am. Based on the money that he has, you're talking about somebody worth about 1.2 to 1.4 billion. I'm worth a billion too what you saying?

35:42and that man that man don't have no don't do nothing on his phone he don't pay for no media when he go out when he go out of the country Joe you know how you get that get that overseas plan he like nah I'll wait he ain't beat me I'm like come on man hey I ain't fit to be hey Barney Parney used to say all the time he said boy be as cheap as you want to but don't be cheap to yourself yeah Yeah. No. Because guess what, Ocho? I hope you don't think your kid's going to be as cheap as you. Oh, no. They not. Okay. Just so you know. Oh, they not. They not. They not. Okay. I'm just saying. I will get some enjoyment.

36:21Yeah, I will lead them some. Oh, yeah. But as hard as I'm working. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. They do it. I got to blow some of this money, Joe. You see? Hey. That asshole. Hey, let me tell you something. Hey, I'm going to do something nice for myself. Because you know that thing coming. I talked to the man upstairs. He sent me a little birdie. He gave me a little message. He gave you a message? What did he say? You know that play is getting ready to come back around again. Okay. You picking up what I'm putting down? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, it's about to come back around again. Yeah. God don't play about his children.

36:55But when they come back around again, I treat myself then. Yeah. Oh, it's coming. Yeah, I got my eye on something myself. Damn.

37:06hey hey they say patience is a virtue huh i'm sure yeah yeah yeah but no i look for me at this juncture i i don't need a whole lot i mean i kind of got whatever i got what i want but you know i'm like man if i could what would i do and i was like man i should get me a car but i was like for what to drive 1 ,000, 1 ,500 miles a year? Spend$400 ,000,$500 ,000 on a car that I put 1 ,500 to 2 ,000 miles over the year. Let me get you a bike, man. Let me get you a Triumph bike. Let's ride. Me, you, and Ojo. A who? Oh, I got bikes. I got carbon fiber. You talking about a riding bike? I'm talking about like a motorcycle bike.

38:00Hey, hey, Joe. Oh, no. Hey Joe, I want me a Harley bagger. You want a Harley bagger? No. Yeah, bagger with a 30 inch wheel on the front. Yeah man, I'm gonna get us a little sponsorship deal where we all get some bikes. No, I'm good. Y 'all have fun. They call it the ass fault, Joe. It's your ass and it's your fault. Hey Joe, I was riding today. Joe, what you trying to get? What they got for me? What you riding today? Man, I got my little Han, my little Han, they ain't number 500 cc, Joe. You gotta put that up. Hey, hey, Joe. I'm just trying to play it safe. Yeah, man, we gonna get... Hey, you can deal with Harley.

38:42I want a Harley backer. I want a Harley backer. Yeah, okay. Yeah, little 30-inch rim on the front. Little music. No, I thought you was talking about a robot. Yeah, I got one of them. A Trek or Axiom 7 or Cannondale, something like that. But you're trying to hit the neighborhood. You want to hit the neighborhood. Yeah, yeah. I used to ride a bunch. I used to be all around your neck of the neighborhood. I mean, I'm joking. Yeah, over there off of Chastain, the Piles Ferry, Hurts Ferry, all that over there. You're coming through there. Yeah. Okay, okay. All right. Yeah, yeah, I was like that. Okay.

39:20Damn. Hey, that was the Black Lance. Hey, hey, Joe. Hey, tell me more about this deal with them bikes. Yeah, man, but I don't want to ride. He don't want to do that. Well, hey, Joe, me and you can ride, man. Don't worry about it. I bet. I got a little deal for us. You know what I mean? All we got to do is we got to do two promo deals throughout the once a month. And, man, we get free bikes. Hold on. What kind of bikes? What company? Triumph. Oh, damn. Triumph ain't got no big boys, man. They got some nice bikes, man. They got some nice vintage bikes. you know what I mean? Adult type of bikes, man.

40:01Hold on. Triumph, that's like when you traveling across the country, man. No, man, it's a little quick bike. You can get in and out through the city, you know what I mean? You gonna be on a Harley. Ocho, you might not be big enough to ride no Harley, man. You got that, you might not know how to handle no Harley now. But Joe, what you talking about, Joe? I had street bikes when I was playing. you can hardly big bike though yeah i know i want i want the big boy up with the 30th grill so i mean sitting back legs wide listen to frankie beverly and maize hey joe i ain't going over 40 50 miles an hour i'm cruising no i'm good hey with my cowboy boots on and the tank top four wheels and a top on it that's why i get down and get on when he want no convertible no more Now we got some play, you know, we got one play.

40:54Yeah.

40:58According to Adam Franklestein, the harness trading LaMelo ball and mile bridges was getting rid of bad influences. They cleaned up the locker room. They're getting rid of the bad influences. They're bringing in professionals, Joe. Yeah, listen, man. Does nice guys. And we see this a lot, a lot. So I don't know. Look, I don't know nobody, I don't know anyone in Charlotte to confirm or deny this, but hey. Yeah. They traded two, I mean, LaMelo Ball, he's been the best player the Hornets had ever drafted. He's the best player they ever drafted. They finally got it right. Of all, they had Michael Kee, Greer Chris, and they had Adam Morrison, and they had all these guys, and the other kid, the Miller kid, he can play.

41:47He can play. What does this mean, Joe? Do you think there's any validity to this? Do you see it? Because, you know, I just hate when people get traded and all of a sudden they were bad influences. I never heard this while those two guys were playing. Anything about bad influences in the locker room? Well, listen, man, you're talking about cleaning up the culture of your franchise, of your team. Normally it starts with the head of the snake, which is LaMelo. You know, I don't know what type of leader he is. Uncle Ochoa or how he was leading those young men, but obviously they wanted to go in a different direction.

42:24With Miles Bridges, great, great young talent at the same time, man, when you trying to be a rapper and play a professional sport, you know, and I understand some cats do do it, but, hey man, every franchise ain't going for that, bro. You know, when they want to clean up their locker room, they want to get, hey man, they got to start somewhere. And obviously, if you asking me, LaMelo and Bridges was probably two of your best talents that you had and you just at their highest value, you just tried to get something for them. I think they cleaning up the locker room. They want a different culture around them, bro.

43:03Hey, well, listen. They're going to have a different culture. They clean up the locker room and, you know, certain you're not going to win with what you got, though. You're not going to win with what you got. Sometimes you got to have some players that's a little rough around the edge huh sometimes you need that on your team you need a little edge because you know high character guys are great guys that are for the locker room or players that are perfect examples i mean and that's only gonna get you so far joe you still need that you still need that dog hey hey you still need you some dogs to get you you No, over the home.

43:42Ocho, as good as the Hornets were last year, think about this, man. Hell, they still didn't make the playoff. You know, they play in the play-in. Okay, where they gonna be at this year? I think the Hornets feel like they can stay right where they at here with the team they got versus continuing. Then you have to pay these guys. See, that's the problem. Yeah, Miles Bridges on the expiring contract. He's gonna want big money. And then I'm gonna have to make a decision on Melo. Am I gonna give Melo$300 million? it's like nah we're not so this alright and when I said Charlotte I'm not looking I'm looking at people drafted to Charlotte I understand the New Orleans Hornets I think they became the Charlotte so for the song so Chris I don't I don't look at Chris Paul Chris Paul is the best player that's been in that organization be a New Orleans Charlotte but Charlotte didn't draft him of the players for me I know Kimba Walker you might say Kimba But I think based on the trajectory of where it was heading, I think Miller was going to be the best player selected.

44:45But we'll never know. We'll never know. It got cut short. They traded him. Knipple looks really good. Miller looks really good. They feel they got a group of guys. Now, with Kobe White, can score the basketball, more of kind of in line what they want to do, kind of want to build their – it seems to me they want to build their offense around Brandon Miller and Conklin. Yep. Exactly. And I don't think they felt they could do that with Melo and Myle Bridges on there. Cause they're like, you know what? Myle's probably going to be trying to play for a contract and him playing for a contract might not be most conducive for us winning games.

45:28You have some, because Chad, you just can't think as a player. You got to think of an organization that's about to invest a hundred. And it's easy for, Just pay them. It's easy to pay somebody when it's not your money. Hey. It's easy to pay somebody when it's not your money. And LaMelo and Miles Bridges are ball stoppers. You know, they play in isolation. They like to dribble their ball. They like to play me. Man, hey, I'm telling y 'all, man, the way the league going, bro, it's only going to be a handful of guys who really get to kind of mix and do what they want out there. If you can't shoot, if you can't catch and shoot and get to that cup, hey man it's a hard place for you because going to these teams now because the nba is so much younger uncle ocho it's always gonna have a guy already there you know what i mean so you're gonna fall in line bro and to cats who who've always been the man all the way up until they get professional that's why they get lost in the sauce because they don't know how to play no other role if they ain't playing the lead role you know what i mean so cats gonna have to hey they're gonna have to find a way to adapt bro and be effective because that's how you stick and i and i think joe it's gonna be hard to keep two superstars because once that money get to 300 million i'm not paying two guys on the same team 300 million and i damn sure ain't been to pay them 400 million because that's where this thing is headed right that's where it's headed so it's about to be hard and harder you might have seen your last three p you might have seen your last repeat because it's It's going to get hard and harder, though.

47:02Because guess what? Somebody's contract is going to be coming up damn near every year. Yeah. So. And if you're star players, how can I keep it together? Look. Oh. You got to do what Brunson did for the Knicks. You got to hope your top guy take a haircut. No, no, no, no, no, no. I said a haircut. I said a nice fade. You got me a season. You gave me a pro jacket. You cut all my itch off. Because here's the thing, Ochoa. You know this in football. For every Tom Brady, everybody else took all the money they supposed to get. Hey, come on now. But listen, you know teams gonna be preaching that though.

47:39Okay, Ojo. You know, I mean, hell, if we give you, Ojo, if we give you 300 M's, how we gonna fill out the damn roster? We can't fill out. I'll let you figure that out. I ain't got nothing to do with that. Hey, I'ma let you figure that out, Joe. Guess what? As a matter of fact, the church, I get my service on my phone. I listen to church service on the phone. Baby, if you take this little haircut, we can bring you in two valuable pieces that you can use, and we can win us a title. You know.

48:12Hey,$1 bill tell him. I got a contract between me and you to say you pay me what you owe me. I want all that. I just don't see guys doing what Brunson did. I commend him. I'm never going to hold it against him. He's the king of New York. He was, he's forever knighted. He's forever golden in that state, in that city. But I don't believe, I don't believe, and I could be wrong. And if I'm wrong, I'm going to be mad at the cup. But I don't believe you'll find, I don't believe you'll see three other guys do what he did. Especially now that the team is not constructed in the right way to even have a chance to win a championship.

48:59Well, only time gonna tell. You think when we gonna take a little haircut for the - Hell no. No. Not the, you can't do it on the first contract, because, but here's the fame though, Joe. Because when you look at it and people are like, look at Tom, look at Tom. Y 'all do realize Tom Brady got a contract that's worth more now with Fox than he made in the NFL. Now, how many of these guys, once they leave the game, gonna have a job that pays them more than they made in the league and worked that? A minute, boy. Exactly. So he ain't touching. Now that's just with his Fox money. He got other things going on.

49:33I think he's a part of Noble now. He's a part of, you know, he got supplement companies and he's part of fanatics. He's a part of a lot of things. So everybody's not going to be able to make options. You got your money. You invest your money. You still be able to make money. But Tom Brady ain't got to touch it. He's still, he's still going to be able to invest money. Tom probably making off the field probably 50, 60 million dollars a year. There's not very many guys that's going to be that can leave a sport and make more money once they leave the sport than they made when they were in the sport.

50:08That's what you get. Think about it. You get Tony Romo. You get Troy Aikman. You get a Collinsworth. You get a Brady. but everybody ain't getting them jobs like that guys y 'all know that I'm not breaking news to you and I just don't believe a$113 million haircut man please and mind you if you take a$113 million haircut the chances of being able to make that back up 10-15 you might can make that up Joe $113 million listen you see what it You got him a championship. I'm saying, you got to be a little different now. Hey, hey, hey, hey. It don't sound like neither one of us would take a damn haircut.

51:00I know them. Well, I didn't say I would. What you mean, neither one of us? I ain't. I know you ain't. And I know OJ. Ooh. Hell no. It depend on the situation. Man, please. Mm-mm. not in my prime I ain't taking no hey hey Shannon you know what we want to give Helen we want to you know we got this great HR person Helen well you ain't gonna be able to hire Helen cause I'm gonna need all my money you better get you better get the second or third best HR person or the second or third best CEO or CFO whatever you wanna call it but I ain't giving none of mine away hey that situation matters this way.

51:47Yeah, for sure. Get your money, man. Kevin Durant reportedly is interested in playing with Cade Cunningham per Brett Seagull. The Houston are expected to bid for his services if Houston ever makes them available. You got to make them offer they can't refuse. You can have anything you want other than Thompson and Cade Cunningham. I can see that happening because you got to think. you remember Durant whatever he said in the media in Burnham County about his teammates and they found out it was him it could be some bad blood over there you know what I mean now I wouldn't mind seeing KD play with KD I think that would be a piece that would ultimately put the pistons over the top because what they were lacking in the series was scoring bro it was too much on KD yeah consistent score because in that last game, if K couldn't do it, nobody could do it.

52:46You know, Tobias had a great first round. He had a great second round. But those last three games with – he had a great first round with Orlando. And then he had a great first couple games with Cleveland. But after that – Man, listen. Hey, what's KD number this year? What you mean? What you mean? Like how much he making? He making? it? Huh? Yeah, how much you making? Probably by what Joe by 42 43? I'm trying to think we got enough. We got enough room for now. We ain't got no room. No room for what? Nah, cause y 'all gotta, y 'all gotta pay. What you call them? Y 'all about to get a nice team. You think y 'all what?

53:27Y 'all trying to put together a dream team? No, Ocho, they ain't gonna work. Hey, hey, I'm, I'm, I'm, I gotta call. I gotta, I gotta call. I gotta call KD. Nah, nah, that ain't gonna work. I'm sorry. That ain't gonna work. Oh, he make it 54.7. God damn! Yeah, he got enough money. Shit! That includes a two-year,$90 million extension that includes a player option for 27-28. Yeah, I know that. Hey, if KD came out East, I think the East would be a lot tougher than the damn West, because the West would just be top-heavy. With about three to 14.

54:11Yeah.

54:16I don't know. I mean, maybe they want draft compensation, but I don't know other than, I mean, you can't have K. I don't know if San Antonio does, excuse me, San Antonio, does the Rockets, do they want Durin to put him with Shingun? I don't know.

54:37I'm trying to think if we can do a sign and trade. I'm trying to see what we can offer. I don't want to give up Thompson, and I'm not giving up K Cunningham. So I'm trying to think what kind of package Detroit can put together to potentially pry KD away. That's a good one. I don't know.

54:57That's something they're going to have to figure out here. But now the question is, now that they got smart to pair him with Thompson, two defensive guys, am I willing to get rid of it? I don't think even with that, I don't think Houston can win the championship. That's just me. No. But I think, you know, because KD still got a lot of value too now, Ocho. Yeah, for sure. Because they still don't got a point guard. Because Houston still doesn't have a point guard. I don't know, man. I, you know, you know, where do I put Bron in Houston? Damn. Oh, nah. Hold on. And we gotta stop. We ain't, we gotta, we gotta stop throwing, stop, stop throwing the goat around like that and trying to put him on every team now.

55:47It's a lot of intriguing spaces, Ojo. Nah, we, we, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. Nah, nah. But we not, we not gonna treat, we not gonna treat him like a dream and he ain't no dream. Nah, he ain't, but wherever he go, he's gonna be there for the neck i told you where he going hey hey don't don't don't get mad at me bro i'm not getting mad at you i'm mad at y 'all hypotheticals we keep huh hey take take take your heart out of it take the emotion out of it if you take your heart and emotion out of you understand where you're going to tell you to do but you ain't listening all right all right so y 'all I don't want to listen to me.

56:22You know, I got elite ball knowledge, man.

56:28Okay, I'm going to take your word for it, Ocho. Appreciate that, man. I'm just trying to see a scenario, Joe, where he can go. And you know, hey, Ocho, that'd be a great place for us to go watch a game. Where? Miami? Houston? Houston?

56:48And so imagine, hey, Joe, we lead the game and go straight to the spot. Look at it. Now he want to do it. Now look at it, boys. Now look at it, Joe. Hey, I like it. Hey, listen, I like it. I like it. I like the aesthetics of it. Yeah. Huh? You know, just thinking about it. It's cool, but no, we ain't winning nothing. We ain't winning nothing there. Yeah, he coming to Miami. Oh, man. Hey, that was a good one. That was a good one. And that got me hyped. That got me hyped real quick. So, Kevin Durant, let's see what – hey, let's see what happened. I mean, Monday is now when all the deals – all the deals can take place.

57:30I mean, can be, you know, stamped. And so, we'll see. Let's see if somebody's going to make a move for KD. Oh, yeah.

57:42Tyler Hero threw shade at Bam out of bio and an Instagram DM with a fan after being traded in Milwaukee. Hero said, you should get paid$60 million to be a top-tier defender on some nights. I'm just wondering. Bam was paid$50-58 million over the next three seasons. He averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3.2 assists, one steal, 44 % field goal shooting. Here Hero posted a graphic showing Giannis and Bam have the lowest field goal on mid-range field goal attempt. Look at this. Damn, Hero posted that. And the DM. Damn. Hey, the hate be real, don't it, man? Yeah. I mean, you know, it's going to be real.

58:29They got in that locker room. You know, they look, you know. You know, I don't want to put it out there, but y 'all know what's going on. Y 'all know what's going on. Oh, okay. Okay, yeah. Yeah. Okay, yeah. Okay. Yeah. Y 'all do your own research. I ain't happy y 'all. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hero posted a graphic on his IG story. Damn. I mean, Bam ain't trading. Damn. You need to get mad at Riles. And plus, Riles upset that you every year at some point in time, you're going to get hurt. You know how Riley feel about that. Joe, you play for him. He hate that. Emotions high, fucking Ocho.

59:15Emotions high. I can't get mad at the damn player. Right. No, you can't. What Bam? What Bam do? I thought that was his dog. I thought that was his man's. I thought so too. Yeah. Dang. Well, gotta figure it out.
