In short
Episode topic: NFL quarterback Michael Penix Jr. discusses who he leans on and rejects “coddling” in the league; NFLPA “report cards” grade team facilities/amenities; debate on sports betting prop bets; Justin Jefferson’s “Savage mode” comments; Shilo Sanders’ viral “cheap tip” story.
Guests/backgrounds
Michael Penix Jr. (Washington/Husky QB; discussed personal support and coaching influences). Shilo Sanders (viral tipping story; Deion Sanders’ son, discussed as “cheap tipper”). Other voices are hosts/commentators (Ocho and Coach O) plus cited figures like Woody Johnson and a former Dolphins long snapper.
Key claims
Penix says his fiancée supports him mentally after games; for football correction he leans on former coach Charles Collins (Santa Monica College sand-dunes origin) and in-game coaches, arguing NFL isn’t “hand-holding.” NFL owners receive facility/amenity grades; Woody Johnson called them bogus and got F grades. League may limit prop bets to reduce gambling risk. Jefferson wants to return to “Savage mode,” blaming life distractions and implying QB play affects production. Shilo Sanders left a $50 tip and framed it as “cheap.”
Notable examples
Denver facility upgrades (hyperbaric chambers, red light therapy, juice bar, full kitchens); Miami game-day family care; NFLPA report-card catalyst; tipping culture debate (self-checkout tipping).

3:23That color. That chill.
3:25Shannon Sharpe:The new tropical butterfly refresher from Starbucks. Guava and passion fruit flavors with mango pineapple flavored pearls. Yeah, that feels like summer before you even taste it. Funny how one small stop becomes the best part of the day. Start your summer rhythm with Starbucks. Try the new Tropical Butterfly Refresher from Starbucks. And as at a press conference from Michael Penix Jr. It's gone viral, Ocho. Let's take a listen to what he had to say. Mentally, my fiance, she's always there for me. So I know whenever I get home, it doesn't matter how I play. She's always going to be there for me.
4:05she's going to have a smile on her face and give me a hug and make me feel, feel good no matter what. But as far as, you know, as far as like physically to on the field stuff, it's not nobody that I'll talk to, like as far as another quarterback or anything like that. You know, I do have people reach out to me. I do have quarterback coaches go back at home that reach out to me as well. You know, tell me, hey, like you need to clean this up, clean that up, you know, and everything would be good. So those guys helped me as far as that, too. So I can shout out them. You know what? I would love to hear the question that was asked.
4:43I would love to hear the question that was asked for better context because I'm sure he has quarterback coaches on the sideline. He has quarterback coaches on the sideline, and I'm sure they're talking about the totality of after a game on what it looked like. I think that has to be the context of the question because bringing up your fiance and no matter how I play when I come home that ain't it no am I wrong
5:12am I wrong if I'm wrong let me know what are you saying about his fiance oh how she said no matter how I played that she's always there for me when I come home always smiling but if anything what the first thing your fiance is supposed to say oh no oh no honey you ain't finna embarrass me like that it's supposed to be no you're laughing it's supposed to be tough love it got if you play bad she's supposed to be the first one baby come on come on come on come on uh mp come on don't do that now you know you can play better than that you know you have hey no don't don't don't have one of them wives they know how to break down that understand the game it can break it down for you oh my goodness that now you come home to something like that not that old oh baby you play bad it's okay no honey it's not okay you can't embarrass the family like that you can't do that you can't embarrass the penic's last name like that now i'm just i'm just throwing out hypotheticals you know not you coming home and the wife no matter how you play oh it's okay no it's you know tough love is okay sometimes exactly and the best person to hear tough love from is the one closest to you yes uh i'm so
6:26Shannon Sharpe:So they ask him what coaches does he rely on, lean on. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Like, okay, Ocho, you're going through a tough time. Is there somebody that you lean on? Okay, boom. I like that. I like that question because the first thing, the coaches I would lean on, most of the time, it wouldn't be my coaches in Cincinnati. If things aren't going right and there's someone I need to lean on. Now, in game, Hugh Jackson. In game, you know, Alex Wood. You know, some of those coaches that they're, but if something is going right and I need, I need to go back to the foundation on how it was built. Charles Collins, 1997, when it all started at Santa Monica College, running the sand dunes, the Manhattan sand dunes back in the day.
7:10Like, that's what, that's what I'm leaning on. That's who I'm going to. That's why when, when Michael Pennick said, he mentioned coaches that, okay, with that question, that's who I'm leaning on. I'm going back where it all started. Hey, Coach C, man, what you see? I don't know what's going on. you know i'm i'm doing am i rushing i'm just whatever it may be because he can see he can see it from a different point of view than i can he can see it from a different point of view than my coaches do come with coaches they see x and o's coach c can see something they don't see even though they're my receiver coaches and guess what coach c looking out for you that receiver coach got five other guys six other guys that he got a coach yeah yeah and the conversation would be Absolutely.
7:52They're viewing me in a different lens than what he's seeing. That is correct.
7:57Shannon Sharpe:So I think people are like, no, that's not what NFL coaches are there. You're not going to be able to rely on your coaches. So I know y 'all was surprised that he said that. Well, he can't go. Nope. Nope. Raheem got 50 guys, 60 guys he got to worry about. That quarterback coach got every. Ain't nobody holding your hand in the NFL. they're not so I'm sorry I don't want to I don't I don't want to come off as callous I don't want to come off as not being empathetic but I'm just telling you the sports business this is a grown man's business you get paid a king's ransom to play a kid's game they're not holding your hand so I understand what he's saying that when somebody to lean on I'm calling my former coach I'm gonna call my brother.
8:46Shannon Sharpe:What do you see? Am I missing something? I feel I'm leaving plays out there, but I don't know what I'm doing.
8:57Shannon Sharpe:Hey, send me a copy. Let me look at your practice. Let me see what you look like in the game. Send me the game cut up. Send me practice. Let me see. Okay. So, So this is the cold, harsh world. This has always been like this. And I think the thing is that this new generation, they think like it's high school and like, come on, son, and the coach take you out to eat and put his arm around you. Oh, no, ain't none of that. Ain't none of that. Because listen, that right there, you'd lose your job. You'd lose your job. Players get coaches fired. So if you're not playing up the par, depending on who you are, depending on what round you went in, you know, depending on how much you're making.
9:46Man, there ain't no coddling, huh? Ain't no coddling in the NFL. And I got it, Ocho. Boy, this is business. These are X's and O's. We going over X's and O's Wednesday, 30, Friday, and Sunday. We expect you to execute those X's and O's.
10:02Shannon Sharpe:Somebody say he was your first-round pick. You don't want him to succeed. How many first-round picks do you think Atlanta got on their roster? so I guess they're supposed to take them all out for brunch and breakfast huh it don't work like that why
10:18Shannon Sharpe:this is a different generation Ocho because this house always been because here's the thing this is why in the military there's supposed to be no fraternizer or higher up in subordinates because there's going to be certain times that you're going to have to be like you know like what David did and he put Bathsheba husband in the front but that was for a whole different reason because it clouds your judgment So you got to be careful when you coddle a certain player because it's going to make it much more difficult to get off said player if and when you need to. That's why Coach Belichick, Heisman posed everybody.
10:50Shannon Sharpe:It was nothing for him to get off a player. You know, coaches tell you that long time, oh, the most difficult thing it is to do is cut a player. No, it ain't. You built up so much callus, you're numb to it. Think about if you're a coach for 15 years, Ocho, and you got to cut 20 players a year for 15 years. they're numb to it. Now they pretend about it. The conversations they have for you when they ask you, when they get that knock on your door, bring your playbook, coach want to see you. Man, they got everything in their crap. They probably say the same thing to everybody else. The only thing they do different is they change the first name when they greet you and let you know, listen, this is a tough decision.
11:30You did everything you got to do.
11:31Shannon Sharpe:This is the worst part of my job. You were really easy. But you know what I'm saying? I'm just being real. You know, this is the tough part of my job that nobody likes to do. They sit in their chair like this. Hey, come on in. How you doing, son? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, you just got caught up in the numbers. Oh, Joe, you know, they sit back. You just got caught up in the numbers game. It's just one of those bad things. The idea of that numbers game. There's a possibility that we might now with a situation. Bring you back. We might bring you back for the practice squad, but we're going to give you an opportunity to go out there and see what side there and, you know.
12:04Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I'm just telling you how it is. Hey. I'm just being all the way honest with you. Yeah. And because a lot of times, you know, everybody has those aspirations. You don't go to the NFL and say, well, if I get cut, it's okay. No, it hurts. Because for a lot of these guys, this the end of something that they've been doing since they were 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 years old. Oh, yeah. So the end is never easy. Oh, you're a good movie. You don't want a good movie to go I'll be like damn that's it Yeah
12:43Damn
12:47Shannon Sharpe:It's It's tough And having Gone through that that's something that you didn't have to Worry about being a second round pick That I had to worry about being a seventh round pick And I remember Like yesterday because we stayed at the Clarion Hotel out by Centennial Airport. That's where all the private planes come in at Centennial. And we're standing at the clarion. And I'll never, ever forget the phone rang. So you know, Ocho, we got two rooms, one phone. Me, I ain't answer. Like, they don't know. Like, they can't come over there and knock on the door and say, hey, Coach Reed want to see you. Right.
13:27Shannon Sharpe:And I remember the phone rang. The phone rang about three or four times. I'm like, they know we in here, Ocho. I'm like, where we going? You ain't picking up? No, no, no. Nah, you got to come fast picking up the phone. Nah, you give me bad news face to face. Right. My roommate picked it up. After a while, I see my door open. They got you, boy, man. I say, damn. Man, I'm sorry to hear that, bro. Yeah. Like, man, hey, but you keep going. I said, man, you know, hey.
14:07Shannon Sharpe:As a matter of fact, I hadn't talked to him. I mean, I talked to him from time to time. Right. He came to see me play in Denver. He came back to see me play in Denver. He came to see me play in Baltimore. He came to the hall. We were still cool. B-Mac, he'll tell you. He called me. He's still the only one that really called me double S. But it was tough because, you know, I was talking about, man, what I wanted to do, X, Y, and Z. But you know what, Ocho? At that time, I had a Mercedes. My brother said, nah. Yeah. Leave the car home. Don't tell nobody you got it. Don't tell nobody nothing. You going up there, you trying to make a team.
14:48Shannon Sharpe:You ain't got no car. Right. Okay?
14:54Shannon Sharpe:But it's real. Ain't no baby? man you remember i told you i had that thigh bruise i had a hole in my thigh in my quad they don't care nothing about that they're trying to find the best 53 down players they can possibly find to make this team and and and the more you can do the better your chances are the better oh you're not a starter you're not the start 11 starting defense or how many special teams can you play put me on point yeah you gotta get kick return i can play four to five all of them all Well, four to six. I can't play on PAT, and I can't play PAT block, a field goal block. But I can get you four of them.
15:31Shannon Sharpe:You ever tackled anybody? Yeah. I play. I haven't tackled anybody since high school. Well, interception, but I played defense in high school. Son, you got to be tough to play. You got to be tough. Bruh, I'm trying to make a squad. Tell me what you need me to do. Tell me what my job. Tell me what my responsibility is. Once you tell me my responsibility, oh, I'm going to carry that out. I'm good. my brother my brother used to tell me all the time he said he said bro you do everything that you do better than anybody else do what they do and you'll be fine so that was my my singular focus on Joe I'm gonna do what I do better than anybody else do what they do
16:14as all hey that's all it comes that's all it come down to and uh uh but I lost Ocho I had I lost contact with him for like eight years.
16:27Shannon Sharpe:And then all of a sudden, he called the Broncos. They said some guy named Brian McFadden, he tried to get in touch with you. I said, oh, B-Mac, yeah. I called him. I said, ma 'am, where the hell you been? You know, he went back and finished up school. And, you know, we stayed in contact. Then we lost contact. again. He hit me up. I think he called a Ravens. It's like a Brian McFadden. I said, yeah! So I hit him up, brought him out to be more. And, you know, then when I went to the hall, I said, hey, Jim Sacamano, he's like, anybody that you need me to find. So him, he found him and found a couple of guys that I was trying to get in touch with.
17:16Shannon Sharpe:For the most part, the guys that came out, you know, I still knew where they were. I tried to get a touch of David Lewis, but I couldn't find him because he was the guy that made me who I am. But, guys, this is different. This is the NFL. This ain't high school where the coach is going to take your ass in, or this is college. That ain't what they do at this level. I'm telling you. I ain't telling what somebody told me. I'm telling you what I know. Yeah.

We cruised around LA in the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and dove into the fascinating life of actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr. Want the full story? Take a listen. Hedy, she starts dating Howard Hughes, the aviation tycoon. Do you know a lot about him? I mean, I watch The Aviator, so I know everything Leonardo DiCaprio has allowed me to know about him. But incredible innovator. Right. She says he's a, quote, very strange man. But they do get along really well.
21:11Give us examples. I know. They do get along intellectually. And in fact, she helps him design a faster plane. She takes a look at what he's designed. It's got these square wings. And she's like, that doesn't make sense. And so she finds the fastest bird and the fastest fish and sketches out a drawing of, like, what the two would look like as a plane. And that becomes the plane that we know today. And he calls her a genius. Check out our new episode spotlighting groundbreaking innovators like Hedy Lamarr and Billie Jean King. Presented by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Goodbye.
21:44Shannon Sharpe:NFL owners have filed a grievance Ocho against NFLPA to stop the annual report cards. Jets owner Woody Johnson called them totally bogus and was the one behind it per ESPN. Johnson received an F grade from his players last year. He's received an F grade every year. He has never got anything but F. yeah and i have a quick hey when it when it comes to those grades on who is the person doing it do they do they talk to the players nflp talk they talk to the players okay okay what is the training facility like okay what's your training staff like okay what's the x y and z like yeah you know what i'm saying uh with the uh the lounge area and the stadium right you have to is there an area that Is there somebody there to watch the kids?

22:34Shannon Sharpe:Do you have a daycare? What's the meal services like? Stuff like that, Ocho. But that's a good thing. They need to keep that going. They need to keep that going so everyone is aware. So players are aware. The NFLPA is self-aware on how these owners are conducting themselves and making sure that the environment and all the amenities for players are up to par. Yeah, there ain't nothing wrong with that. And Woody complaining because he didn't got an F every guy. Yeah, for sure. you improve it yeah not only matter of fact maybe if you prove maybe if you prove the amenities and environment around maybe your team will play better maybe like that um you never know you got to start somewhere everything listen when it comes to winning two unking life it started the very yes for sure it started the very top and for some reason it just trickled down after that if you're losing up top everybody gonna lose right below you too for sure we had to look obviously it's done gotten better now because you know in the beginning there was no free agency owners were cheap they spent X amount of dollars we used to have something what they call plan B plan B was oh yeah yeah I didn't use a few of them too I didn't use a few of them too but this plan B was oh you're talking about that oh my bad I'm sure you have used some of those plan B Yeah, you know, let's some.
23:59Shannon Sharpe:But this player B was like free agency before free agency. Well, what you could do is protect a certain number of players, and the players that you couldn't protect, somebody else could sign those players off your roster. So that's what it was before we got the Reggie White settlement, which granted free agency for everybody. Right. And so, but I couldn't have gave Mr. Bowling anything, but because when I got to Denver, that was the first year that they had moved down to the Paul D. Bowling Center down in Englewood. So it was brand spanking new. The grass fields were exemplary. The bubble was horse crap, but other than that, and what do you expect?
24:40Shannon Sharpe:You expect to get mashed potatoes? You gotta eat something light because you gotta go practice in an hour. How you gonna eat steak or potatoes and turkey? Come on. Cold cuts. And like I said, we lost. They cut that out. I like a good. Joe eating high on the hog. Eating good, but you playing terrible. Nah. And now, they getting ready to build a new stadium in Denver. They just spent. Yeah. Man, they probably done spent since Rob done took over. And the Penners. Ocho, they probably done spent maybe$100 million upgrading the facilities. I'm talking about hyperbaric chambers. I'm talking about red light saunas.
25:33Shannon Sharpe:I'm talking about triodes. I'm talking about you name it. I'm talking about weight. The fact that you said that for some reason and probably all 32 teams are like that too especially now that it's been so long. No everybody like that Ocho. No hell no. hey um man i went i went inside the bangle facility on that old air dated ass ish no hey um listen they done put some money in that thing on everything you just named the the the the red that's the sauna the the dog it's it's unbelievable i'm like well when the hell they did oh yes they hey it they done knocked they done knocked everything down and built some all the way the hyperbaric chambers and something, what's the red thing you just said?
26:20Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, red light therapy. Saunders, yes. Got all that. Man, they got a bunch of them lined. I'm like, what the hell is all this? They got full kitchens. Same. Weight room, all that. I'm like, if y 'all had all this and cooking and all this weight, I'd have looked like an anatomy chart.
26:45Shannon Sharpe:Shredded like a truck tax return. And they got a juice bar. Yeah, the juice bar when they come out. What what what what what kind of shake you want? Yes, yes, yes. They'll have it ready for you. If you tell them Ocho, we come off the field. They'll have your shape with your name on it. You just grab your shake and go. Yeah, that's that's crazy, man. That's crazy. They cooking breakfast. They got a mate. They got a mate breakfast, lunch and dinner.
27:18yeah they got they got them they got they got them right boys right now oh yo ain't no boy lord have mercy mama mama I like my situation my man you know lord I ain't but I'm just saying mm-hmm I just need to be 10 I need to be like 15 years hold up 15 years damn I still been retired hey I say 15 years don't you I'd still been retired hell I'm 42 I still been a retired damn yeah hey I think about it I did mom you
27:52Shannon Sharpe:did a dog mama said mama mama had me it's 25 my mama had a lair kid like almost 26 mama say I'm done. I'm done done. Had a first with an 18, last with a yeah. Had a first with a 17. So even with all the nutritionists and all the amenities and resources and all this stuff they got going on I probably wouldn't have done none of this. I would have. Boy you know how much money you could have saved? Wait. No. Oh you talking about the food. oh I'm doing all that they got massage therapists they got PTs yeah I ain't even doing that I can tell you how many times I played 11-12 years I probably got a massage twice I probably got a massage twice I don't know what it was about me I took care of my body because when it's time to work boy I'm going crazy but all that physical therapy and getting stressed and them pushing on you nah hell no on Mondays you got a 30 minute rut you got a 30 minute massage for free we started losing they took that out of you I ain't see them no more
29:13Shannon Sharpe:I ain't see them no more Ocho but I got a massage twice a week for I don't know probably till 2022 hey listen when TJ was there, TJ always going to get a massage, always taking care of his body, doing all this stuff. Hey, Ocho, why don't you come get... I said, man, T, you know I'm not doing that. Man, I'm going home, man. I'm going home. After practice, we go watch film, we go watch practice. Man, I'm out of here. They going to stretch and do all this extra stuff. Man, I'm gone. T.O. was there. Man, this man T.O. was ridiculous. He was a mad man when it came to taking care of his body. I'm saying, man, why is you on that goddamn phone thing.
29:56The little phone. Yeah, man, what you doing? I'm like, T, man, that junk don't do nothing, man. Man, we ain't even out to practice yet. He in the locker room rolling. Man, I'm sitting there, earphones on, ready to go to practice. I'm out there. We in the stretch line. I ain't even stretching. I'm talking the whole time.
30:19Shannon Sharpe:I'm so, so stretching, but that's the time to talk. Man, who did what? Yeah. That's the gossip time, Ocho. Ocho, former Dolphins Long Snapper tweeted, the report cards have been a catalyst for incredible change within some organizations. The ability to be open to feedback and make changes for the better is something that I have a ton of respect for. First-hand example, during my time in Miami, one of the first few report cards revealed an opportunity for growth when it came to family care on game day. The next year was game day care for players' families on game day. staff members dedicated to making sure players family were well cared for and access to an air conditioned space where family with young kids can get a reprieve from the heat bottom line if if you don't like the score there's a choice you can make see if you don't want your laundry out there you don't want that but you don't want that report card oh yeah yeah you're right you're right But you got to think about how the owners look at it too now.
31:23You got to think about how the owners look at it. Listen, this facility, this facility and these amenities and these resources, but we paying you$20,$30,$10,$15 million, whatever it may be. Now you want us to take care of your family too? You want us to make sure all them good? I'm just telling you how they thinking. Now we got to fork over more money outside of what we already paying you to make sure everybody? nah uh-uh uh-uh uh-uh see i'm just i'm just saying how they probably know but that's the thing
31:58Shannon Sharpe:you ocho if if when restaurants do they get grades oh why would they give them a grade ocho oh listen they'll let people know do you need to that's why they give these these owners and green and organizations a grade to let them know what they need to change and do better oh yeah absolutely but the funny thing about this is these owners you know whether he grades are a's or f's when it's time for that contract and if they pay you you know you're going you you're going now it's a bad look for them because they don't want that no exactly that stain on that stain on their franchise so they might want to clean it up they so these grades are a good thing to force owners to clean up that's it some things that he would probably ignore in other cases.
32:45Shannon Sharpe:Some things that, you know, hey, like the snapper said, you know, child care for, you know, on game day. An area that, you know, in Miami, it gets hot. I'm sure you don't want no four, five, six-year-olds sitting out there in that beaming hot sun in South Florida in July, August, September. Yeah, absolutely not. And in Denver, you don't want no kid in that cold. You don't want to go to the game and then all of a sudden and take his kid in the area. And the first thing I want to say, will we pay you enough money? Leave your kid at home with a nanny. Whether it's hot or whether it's cold. No, but some teams provide that, Ocho.

Goodbye.
37:30Shannon Sharpe:The media was pretty sure Paul Podesta just took a shot at Kevin Stefanski in his first press conference with the Rockets. The reporter asked a question. You received a lot of blame for the Deshaun Watson trade. That was objectively a failure. How can you be assured that you won't do something like that again here in Colorado? D. Podesta said, you know I was also calling the plays for the Browns. Then he went on to say those are organizational decisions. Those are done collaboratively with a lot of people on board. He ain't lying. Guess who had to sign up on that? That owner. Mr. Haslam. Jimmy Haslam.
38:11Shannon Sharpe:Jimmy and D. Because everything that goes out is D and Jimmy Haslam. So D and Jimmy signed up on it. Okay, yeah, we get an opportunity. Look, we get an opportunity to get what we think is a franchise quarterback. That's what we got. That's what we think. That's an opportunity. No quarterback, no franchise quarterback had ever become available at 26 years of age would not. Peyton Manning came available because what? The doctors only gave him a 10%, 15 % chance to ever be able to. He ends up winning an MVP, winning a Super Bowl. Drew Brees became available because what? his shoulder was almost tore off the bone.
38:52Shannon Sharpe:Tom Brady became available. Tom Brady was 40 years old, 40, 41 years of age. So no quarterback, no franchise quarterback has ever become available with no injury history at 26 years of age. Now, obviously there's some things that came out, but they knew that. They said, okay, but we still believe this is the guy. We finally, after all these years, basically since Otto Graham, I mean, look, Bernie was good for a period of time, and even Tester Verde had some good years. But basically, we got to go back to Otto Graham to have a consistency at that position, and we got him, and he's 26 years of age.
39:30Shannon Sharpe:It didn't work. Ocho, it didn't work. Whatever reason was, maybe it was that, maybe it was a situation he got hurt. Ocho, you remember, he missed the first, first of all, he didn't play that last year in Houston, and he missed the first 11 games. So basically he went two years without playing. Right. Then he gets hurt. Then he hurts his shoulder. Then he tears his Achilles.
40:03Shannon Sharpe:So I don't begrudge them for trying to get a franchise quarterback. And they believe they had one was available and they believe they had it. Yes. It didn't work. but everybody wants to put just like that Nico everybody wants to put wants to put that on Nico Nico no Dumont he could have said no yeah he sure could but guess what he did he nodded yes and he meant no I mean the funny thing about it is I still for the life of me I can't understand what Nico Collin can go and tell Dumont that would agree him to say he really didn't want to First of all, he really didn't want to play because he see where these salaries are going.
40:45Shannon Sharpe:So you give Luka, so guess what? You give Luka$345. Guess what his next contract gives, Ocho? What? Buy some? He's going to be the first player to make$80 million a year with his next contract, which will be around in 28. He'll be able to sign a five-year extension. Now, think about it. Now, in 28, he'll only be 28, 29 years of age. yes so they are like really like 345 that's one player how do we build a team we got Anthony Davis we got him on the hook for 3 years at like 150 we got Kyrie Buck on the books yeah Yeah, it's not the same, though. I know, but I'm saying, he's looking at it like I've got to pay.
41:43Shannon Sharpe:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's how he's looking at it. Because at the end of the day, it's still about making. It's still about. Look, as a business, I'm trying. It ain't how much you keep. Right. So they're like, oh, I understand it takes money to make money, but I want to spend as little money as I possibly can while making as much as I possibly can. Mm-hmm. Yeah, he did take a shot. Ocho, Justin Jefferson says he wants to get back to Savage and Eff it mode from 2023. Let's take a listen to what Jedha had to say. I only can control the things that I can control. And personally, mentally, just wanting to get back into that mode, into, I like to say, Savage mode.
42:32So, I mean, it's just going out there with that F it mentality and just going out there and just killing it and not worrying about the plays, not worrying about anything else that I just like you said, can't control. Just doing everything that I can control and making the most of my opportunities. Why do you think you haven't been in that mode if you haven't? Life, you know, just different things going on in my life and just wanting to get back to that that kid phase of loving. loving I still love football but overly loving football and overly loving just being out there on Sundays and making the big plays and just being a part of this great organization so I just wanted to get back mentally into that into into that mode long story short my quarterback
43:20Shannon Sharpe:suck here y 'all see it but I'm gonna be polite I'm gonna make I'm gonna put it on me and not throw them guys under the bus but my quarterback right suck rhinoceros bone yeah I mean I'm I like the angle he's taking too with it. I thought you liked truth. You told me you liked truth. Yeah. Yes. Hold on. Hold on. I'm with you when you're right. But I don't like some of the comments Justin has been saying lately. Everything he's been saying has been real politically correct. I don't like that. I need that dog. I need that dog, Justin Jefferson. I need that Justin Jefferson out the boot. I need that Justin Jefferson, you know, that had the grill in his mouth.
43:58You know, that when he score, he hit that thing. You know, I need that Justin Jefferson. He's, to me, in a little bit, because now he's a leader, because now he's, I'm assuming he's probably a captain as well. Some of that edge that made him him, that made him special, top two in the league, is going a little bit. I don't care if the goddamn Pope was the quarterback. when it comes to a player like Justin Jefferson when 18 is out there ain't nothing stopping that nothing and I think a little bit of that has gotten away from him worried about everything else around him that he can't control you wanted a few players regardless of what's around you you gonna get the job done which is why you're paid a hefty goddamn ransom because you wanted a few that can do that so I wanted to get back to that i don't even know how to do the move i'm too old for that but yeah hey i think the thing is ocho is that he didn't realize how much he gonna miss first cousin
45:09Shannon Sharpe:he said what that oh yeah sam donald ain't that bad hey i got sam d yeah
45:18Shannon Sharpe:now y 'all want me to put up the same type of numbers and y 'all keep now come on now you want me to make you want me to make Kobe A5 dang what you giving me now hold on hold on hold on hold on this is the thing now this is the thing Sam Darnold
45:45Matthew Stafford but it comes down to the play call to me I don't care who throwing the ball J.J. McCarthy Carson Wentz put just you can't cover him you can't cover him because you can move you can move players around if you want to give them the ball we've seen Sean McVay's offense do it we saw Mike McDonald do it now with JSN over there in goddamn Seattle let me ask you a question
46:12Shannon Sharpe:you think JSN doing that with Sam let me ask you a question honestly you think he's doing that with Carson Wentz and J.J. McCarthy
46:23different type of offense
46:27Shannon Sharpe:that's really the west coast offense it's really the same offense
46:34Shannon Sharpe:I mean if you if you think about what your head just say those numbers that he's putting up you got to have somebody really good pulling the trigger yeah and And Wentz played okay, but – and Jetta had – but he going through this thing, and until you get a quarterback that's consistent – Right. Oh, Joe, you know how this thing is, man. Yeah, you ain't got to tell me twice. You ain't got to tell me twice. You probably have – how many quarterbacks you have? You have Fitz, you have Carson. Did you have anybody else in Cincinnati? Scott Mitchell, John Kitna, Gus Farad, and yeah that was it but listen I acted a fool with every last one of them every last acted a fool who did you go to the Pro Bowl with Carson Carson, Kitna we had Scott Mitchell did I say Scott Mitchell yet?
47:37Shannon Sharpe:you said Scott Mitchell, Gus Farad yeah yeah yeah there was some days but I mean there's certain players you know them tier one receivers boy I don't care man it don't matter who at quarterback boy I'm finna be open boy period call my number I'm gonna be there for you Ocho check this out in the wake of the highly publicized sports gambling scandal that have impacted NBA MLB and NFL is working on implementing new policies in order to curb such risk into its own game the league sent out memos today indicating that it had begun actively engaging with state lawmakers and NFL sports betting partners to limit or potential outright ban prop bet.
48:20Shannon Sharpe:Come on, man!
48:26Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, you think this is a smart move? I mean... Ocho, I want to bet. If I want to bet Chase is going to have 95 yards, let me do that. If he's going to have 10 catches, let me do that. You take it. so now i just got a bet win lose over under yeah it's uh listen it's unfortunate it's not going to change now they they've already implemented they're good they're going to enforce it and that's just what it is now we just have to it is it making the game safer for those that are playing for those that are actually you know that they're actually gambling maybe it might work it might not I think those that love to gamble and have an urge and are enthusiasts and love the adrenaline rush that it brings they still going to do it they going to find a way to do it every time at that point in time all you can bet is the over under the money come on man the props it's the props that really get people into it right because now I got this big old parlay I got this fault I got this 40, 50 parlay that I put$20 on, this thing might pay off by the meal, too.
49:41Yeah, it might, but not no more.
49:44Shannon Sharpe:They just saying that. They trying to scare us. Hell yeah. They ain't gonna do it. They like the sports betting partners. Yeah, they do. Yeah, you do. That would take a lot away from it. Yeah. If they do do that. Shiloh Sanders is going viral for only leaving a$50 tip. Ocho, watch this.
50:12All right, thank you very much. How much are you going to sign in tip? No, I'm not going to tip nothing. I'm going to put a negative tip where you have to pay me. Okay. All right, a$50 tip for being mean today. Thank you very much. I'm going to post it on YouTube as a cheap-ass football player. Give me$50. Jeez, that's good. Oh, I forgot. This is Vegas. Thank you. Thank you. All right. Appreciate it.
50:41Shannon Sharpe:Coach O, has tipping culture got out of control now? I mean, not really. I'd like to consider myself the one that set somewhat a standard for some of us that have the means to be able to bless those who work in the service industry. I make it a point to over tip tremendously. I mean, well, where's it? Overtip me. $5 ,900. $5 ,950. Since you like to overtip. I'm talking about, hey, hold on. Hold on. I love to take care of my people in the service industry, no matter where I go. I think they love to see me walking through the door. That's just me. That's just me. You know, God loves the cheerful giver.
51:20I don't do it for that reason, but that's just something I've always done. I think$50 is good. I think$50 is good. I don't know how much the bill came to, but knowing that if based on the percentage that they say you're supposed to tip, I guarantee you 150. Ocho. So I think he tipped well. Ocho, now a lot of times you go to places
51:42Shannon Sharpe:the tip, the gratuity is already included. Oh yeah, most of the time. I mean, when they bring you room service, the service charge is already included. And they got tipped. Okay, I got a tip for you. Don't eat egg salad and ride the bus. please don't because I ain't got nothing for you yeah Ocho how if I go to how do I go to self check out and they talk about tip I want to know tell me that answer me that Ocho I'm checking myself out and you want me to leave a tip okay I call in get take out what did you do all you do is ringing up my order and you want a tip man y 'all better get out of my tip give me my tip Hey, see, you're a little different.
52:28You're a little different. You're a little different. You know, I don't care how service is, whether you might be having a bad day. I understand all the attitudes you have to deal with, all the personalities you have to deal with. So when I come in, I always want to be kind to whoever my waiter is. I'm going to be kind. Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm just saying, sometimes they be having a bad day. You don't know what they've been through. You don't know what they're going through. so I always make it an effort no matter how much my bill is people that follow me over the years you know it could be$20, it could be$50 it could be$100 I'm always tipping$1000 wherever I'm at whether it be IHOP this has been routine for me for the past 15 years guess what Ocho?
53:15I might have had a bad day
53:16Shannon Sharpe:do you know what I had to do to get this money that I got? right, you work your ass off for that money though huh? Yeah, you did. You did. I tip, you know, mainly probably about 30. I'm normally 30%. I'm 30%. Okay. That's good. Car come, you know, normally I'm$40,$50 for, you know, valet. Man, but the thing is, I mean, but now, Ocho, it's like the tip, gratuity, whatever you want to call it, service charge, it's already added so you want so you want 18 service charge and a tip on top of it hmm man y 'all do they doing too much man I like it I like it if it be it yeah what happened hello Ocho what happened to 10 % now they don't even start at 10 % They started 15, 18.
54:21Shannon Sharpe:They want 15, 18, 22, 25. Hey, you got to understand, right? When you think about the service industry, right? They rely on these tips. They rely on these tips. Ocho. They need that. I understand that. And you can't take a job. I get it that they rely on these tips. But they chose that. it's like you know they don't pay anything in teaching you know that going into it you can't take a job and then complain about the pay when you knew the pay was subpar to begin with right but but that that's very that's very hard also you have to you have to think about the american people and how difficult it is to get a job sometimes you you you get a degree in a certain in a certain profession and it's hard to get you know a job in in in in in what you graduated with and what you study four years to be in.
55:17Sometimes you just can't crack it, but you have to find a way to make a living. And sometimes you have to go, you know, work in the service industry. I don't have a problem with that, Ocho,
55:26Shannon Sharpe:but you can't complain. I know you don't, I know you don't, but I take all of that into account when I go to restaurants at times. So that's why I over tip and always tip, you know, a thousand, sometimes 500, you know, just to make sure, you know what, I don't know what's going on in your life. But I know one thing, when I leave here today, You gonna be all right. Well, you know what the next day Don't it most the time when I go someplace they know me they know what's going on in my life They say mr. Sharp. We will tip right here$25 for you, Mr Shaw You say they gonna do that now what I think they gonna do that for me See they don't buy so they know my struggle.
56:01Shannon Sharpe:They know my struggle. Oh, yeah, they gonna break your boy. Yeah, don't even worry about it Yes, sir. We won't cover this bill for you Yeah, hey, and I see some people talk about Ocho stop the cap do me a favor like if you're in the chat right now go on go go all you do is just go on google and type in outro single tips they all pop up there hell i tip matter of fact remember i tipped them people five thousand dollars that time
56:28yeah chat chat y 'all see this this man no i'm not no no no i'm not i'm not i'm not playing i'm i'm just saying that that one time like i was i was i was uh i was i was i was in the good spirit I was in the giving spirit. That person was having a bad day. Somebody had just passed away. They had just had a child. And I'm like, well, damn, all that's going on. And they crying. I'm like, well, God damn. They made me, I was tearing up. So I was like, you know, I ain't even say nothing. I just wrote it down there and I walked out.
56:59Shannon Sharpe:I'm not, Ocho, I'm not, if I order takeout, I'm not finna go up there, give you my credit card, and give you a tip for ringing up my order. If I'm at a restaurant and they bring me my meal or that, you know, I'm not constantly having to ask for things. I think 30 % is a good tip amount because normally I'm going, I'm spending two, three, four hundred dollars. God damn. With that being said. That's why you don't want a tip. You're spending. That's why I don't eat at those kind of restaurants where my meals cost that much. Well, I'm taking my kids out. I'm taking my family out. so that's that's what i'm saying i ain't got no problem tipping but i'm not finna tip you i come in and pick my order up all you do is ring it up and you think i'm about to give you 20 30 dollars no i'm not okay okay my bad my bad my bad my bad see see you eat at nice places i eat at bahama breeze i eat at longhorn with the kids i go to ihop so the places i'm going my meals are never over 50 50 dollars which is why i'm i'm so willing to go large like i normally do you know so i mean but i i get it i get i understand we we just different we just different in that area yeah no i don't i don't have no problem tipping like i said i'm normally no matter what valley is if it's 20 i'm i'd normally give 40 50 dollars for valley that's that's just standard hey here you GoPro.
58:30Shannon Sharpe:But no, man, they're getting out of hand with this, Ocho. They're getting out of hand. I mean, now you got self-checkout, and they want a tip. Who getting the money? The computer had a bad day, too? Oh, I guess he got a few little microchips when he get home. Get out of my face, man. Y 'all better look. Hell, dog. That's funny. Yeah. I tell you what they having bad the restaurant should put the bill so you know what I know the standard is like seven dollars an hour ten dollars an hour we're gonna pay y 'all twenty five dollars an hour we're gonna pay y 'all thirty dollars an hour it shouldn't be it shouldn't be on the consumer yeah you you're right you're right and we're we're the only I think maybe if I'm not mistaken we're the only place where where most of the people in the service industry they don't make a livable wage where they don't have a living wage.
59:25Hell, it ain't the service agency.
59:26Shannon Sharpe:The only way they don't make a livable wage. There are a lot of mofos that don't make a livable living wage. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. But some of those other industries where those people work, there's nowhere where you can tip them. Teachers. Teachers are severely underpaid. They are severely underpaid. It's ridiculous. Especially what they do and what they have to deal with, especially the kids these days. Oh, yeah, for sure. Oh, my goodness. Oh, look. The school system is turning all eternity turned into for the most part of the daycare so parents can go to work.
59:59Shannon Sharpe:Kids be bad as a mofo. If your kid's bad at home and you know if your kid bad, people are like, oh, I am shocked. I am appalled. Well, I'm a David. Your kid bad and you said it's badass for me to have to deal with for what kids go to school? From 8 to 3, 8 to 2? You couldn't wait to drop him off. He's sick. Leave his sick ass. Stay your ass home and stay with him. Bring his sick ass to school and get everybody else sick. Yeah. Man, what? Listen, if your kid's bad at home, you already know it's not good when they get to school. It used to be, look, I don't know. I mean, there was a kid, look, I'm not going to say the kids didn't misbehave, but they kid, now they're getting out of control.
1:00:53Shannon Sharpe:They're getting out of control, man. And they putting their hands on teachers. They talking back. They doing all types of stuff. I thought that's at home. I thought that at home. Ain't no way. A kid behave like that, the kid behave, he bad at home. She bad at home. Yeah. Because ain't no way Mary Porter would have sent me the act of the fool. Because I done got my tail tore up before going to school. so I'm going to be on my best behavior because they must run and call Mary Porter then you going to get it again before school and after school oh no after, at the school hold on, if they call Bessie Mae and she got to leave the school, where she at to come to my school I'm going to take the phone out the hook I get home and take the phone out the hook like my grandma say, wherever you show out that's exactly where you get whoa out oh you want to show off in class i'm whoop your ass in class hey i take the phone out the hook who doesn't tell them who left this phone out the hook i don't know there'd be a school caller it'd be busy as hell yeah yeah you gotta be the caller here me no live here
1:02:15Shannon Sharpe:wrong number like I said I don't have a problem tipping I tip anybody that's ever waited on served me or I've gone places I tip I do I ain't got no problem tipping I leave the hotel I leave$30 -$40 side of the bed clean they come in turn down service I give them$30 -$40 I bring extra cash because if I'm on the road to clean my room hey boom They're going to leave a couple extra bottles of water. You need extra towels, face gloves, something like that. Okay, cool. I ain't got no problem. I don't have a problem tipping. Well, I think y 'all know that last night. I mean, Joe had his thing and I was like, out the muscle.
1:02:55Shannon Sharpe:And you see he already tweeted because it's already done. So I ain't got no problem helping. But nah, man, they just trying to do too much, man. They trying to do too much. Somebody talking about, oh, cheap. I just gave Joe 10 grand last night y 'all talk about oh cheap what then you gave Joe 10 grand why you maybe you hopping on me by that you know I gave Joe 10 grand you was supposed to match it we were supposed to feed 500 people in Atlanta you know you how you just gonna throw anybody there for me you don't know what I got about you you tip it you to my oh we gonna tip we gonna tip$1 ,000 we go you spend my you're trying to spend my money a thousand dollars and ten thousand that's two that's two totally i got 37 goddamn kids you talk about just give 10 10 thousand away i got kids they got to feed christmas coming up you just tip something you just tip somebody you just tip one person five fifteen hundred five thousand i just fed 250 people well i i i fed i fed 25 people i'm surprised why joey tweet about me for that you said 40 dollars nah nah i i sent uh what i'm baby i think i think she's in 2000.
1:04:11yeah we know we we gonna feed all of them we ain't gonna feed that many hey
1:04:14Shannon Sharpe:well well hello how many two thousand feet
1:04:28Shannon Sharpe:what was it 50 100
1:04:34Shannon Sharpe:50 50 oh that's that's a good night a good number that's a good night she'll spend 250 i thought we i thought we were gonna feed 500 uncle don't you night camp feed 500 homes and family yeah everybody's like yes yeah okay don't you yeah hey i fed 50. man jesus jesus hey jesus had a fish and two loaves of bread he filled 5 000 though yeah well i ain't i ain't got that guy no no no two loaves of bread and some fish
1:05:06God loves the chill forgiver. Hey, what's the preacher that locked the door? They say you are.
1:05:13Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, now they talk about, hey, Lord told me somebody, hey, 21 people gonna give me$1 ,000 today. So you ask him, hey, where they get that money from? That would you need that, because that ain't me. Because, hey, they pass that pan around, You gonna think about the game, Ocho The wave, yeah, gonna pass on through Every time they come through And you know, God don't like no noise No, God don't like noise Don't put no change in there God don't like no noise But, look Like I said, I ain't got no problem tipping But, you know, they getting out of hand They trying to sneak it in there, Ocho It's already in the bill And they put it out in their tip Bro, you already done charged 18 % And then you gonna talk about you wanna leave 15, 18, 22, 25, 28, 30.
1:06:07You know they gonna write thank you with a little heart and a little smiley face.
1:06:14Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I don't know. I'm gonna draw one back with a frown.
1:06:22Hey,
1:06:22Shannon Sharpe:that's all I got for you, Ocho. Like I said, I ain't got no problem, but they doing too much. now they just think everybody just stand there and just I guess we supposed to greeters and seaters somebody walking I guess somebody you supposed to pay somebody do they you supposed to tip when they walk you to your seat your table everybody everybody need a tip alright we gonna get you out of here on this when it's time for our final segment of the evening it's time for Q and A
1:07:02Shannon Sharpe:uh t.s car washing detail service oh what is something that your grandpa told you that stood out with you for the whole life that same for your ocho and his grandma ocho you want to go first something that my grandmother and grandfather always told me i think my favorite saying my favorite saying which is one of the reasons why i am as financially conscious as I've always been, which is why I'm probably not a statistic, being at, I think, maybe 87, almost damn near 90 % of us go broke two years after we moved from the game of football. And I learned at an early age and having financial discipline.
1:07:43And my grandma always told me, and my grandfather as well, a fool and his money shall soon part ways, especially when you don't move right, when money and image becomes your identity and you get lost. You get lost in trying to look rich. And I think I was really good at understanding that the value was not anything I could purchase. It was me and myself and my name alone was the true value. And it just didn't make sense in taking my money and making somebody else rich to prove to others that I got money. it just didn't make sense to me and so that one little phrase that stuck with me forever and still to this day
1:08:31Shannon Sharpe:yeah I think the thing that he said never mistake habit for hard work just cause you do something over and over don't mean you working hard and the analogy I like to use is people go to the gym man I go to the gym everyday you look the same
1:08:49Shannon Sharpe:that's a habit you ain't working hard and I make sure whatever I do I'm working hard Tino Davis say is it fair to label Justin Fields a bust it's hard to say a guy that came from his situation that made it to the NFL but the expectations he has not met expectations and And, you know, I think the thing is, Ochoa, is that when you look at professional athletes, everybody ain't going to pay it out. They make it seem like every restaurant that open, so if a restaurant is open, I've seen restaurants, Dan Tanner's in Atlanta. It's been a staple. It's closing. So is it a failure? Restaurants stay open for 10 years and close.
1:09:49Shannon Sharpe:Is it a failure? So I just wanted, so I'm just trying to, how do we judge it? Right. Everybody is not going to be Brady, Manning, I don't care. Everybody's not going to have that level of success or have the level of success that we thought they would have or maybe they even thought they would have. Right. and I just think for me, just watching him and watching him over the years, I just don't know if he's ever going to be what we thought he would be. TJ, my Patriots are back, 9-2, on to the Dirty Tigers. Oh, they're going to put something on, y 'all. Ah, they're going to put something on, y 'all.
1:10:37Shannon Sharpe:Oh, Gonzalez. Gonzalez. Wait, hold on. Okay, wait. Okay, you know what? I mean the Bengals play the Patriots then they play the Dolphins. It's over for y 'all. It's over. I don't know why that the Patriots is over now. And y 'all quarterback not mobile. Y 'all quarterback not going to be able to get away from Justin Bieber. You know we open up the game with the quick game. We open up the game with the quick game. And Gonzalez is going to have his hands full with T. You know where Gonzalez is going. You know where Gonzalez is going. Okay. He's going to have a long day. Not as long as y 'all. Eli, braver to the Falcons with a fed families with the talent on that team.
1:11:24Shannon Sharpe:I think Raheem is gone if they lose to the Panthers on Sunday. I think you're right. After the season, though. Tino Davis, Ocho, you know how I told you my uncle passed on Saturday. I'm bearing my uncle in a custom jersey with y 'all number. Team colors keep being amazing. Tino man thank you man we're sorry so sorry to hear about the passing of your uncle man but thank you so much for your support God bless and stay up man I appreciate that man that means a lot to us Edie I just think Justin had potential but is currently scared mentally and emotionally watch his rookie year versus the last couple years he's broken his mind but he has shown he has the ability his first two years Bears broke him completely.
1:12:15Shannon Sharpe:Well, look, he showed flashes. You see flashes? Ocho, you saw the comeback that he had against Cincinnati. Oh, yeah. So we've seen flashes, but we see we don't see enough. We see more things that cause you like, damn, than things that we say, oh, yeah, okay, now we see more of the other versus the latter. So I just hope he can get it figured out. That's what I do. True and infamous 73. How ironic. Mike Brable entered the Patriots dynasty in 2019, only to go there and rebuild it back again. Isn't that ironic? Don't you think? That's crazy. General surrogacy. Peyton Manning is overrated just like Lamar.
1:13:01Shannon Sharpe:Beast in the regular season trash in the playoffs. Peyton gave his dad's team their first Super Bowl. Okay. You say he's overrated? it's your opinion
1:13:17Danny
1:13:17Shannon Sharpe:Louis John Curry leaving Under Armour what's your reaction surprised
1:13:25Shannon Sharpe:Nike probably say hey you know what we let this man get away we ain't gonna let him get away twice cause think about it Jokic is with some yeah but he can go he can wear his own he can wear for the time being yeah I think Steph Steph say you're going to go independent oh you're going to go independent I mean that's what I saw you're going to go independent unless Nike come in there with something crazy okay okay do your thing Curry
1:14:04Shannon Sharpe:Trey hey what's the most dominant quarterback in you guys' era in your opinion I mean, Brady, obviously, especially my era. Well, I caught a lot of eras. I caught Joe Montana. I was in Joe, Elway, Marino, Brady, Manning.
1:14:25Shannon Sharpe:Steve Young. Brady.
1:14:32Shannon Sharpe:Brady won 0-2. I only caught Brady won one year. They won 0-3. No, they wanted to know my last year. They wanted to 0-3 because I retired in 0-4. So two years. And I remember playing Brady in 0-2. I'm like, damn, he won the Super Bowl? I didn't see it. Man, the next year, my last year in Denver, man, I just went through a game with a touchdown on us with like 20 seconds, 30 seconds on the clock. I said, yeah, yeah, he good. He going to be good. Yeah, you see it now. Wow. Mm-hmm. Oh, man. I'm going with my quarterback. Seven. Quentin Mays, should I start following these players' wives for my parlay feelings?
1:15:19Shannon Sharpe:Hashtag feelings. Yeah. Oh, man. I guess. I just think the thing is, I mean, people think, oh, Joe, you know, you play in the NFL, and it's kind of like the college coach is going to pick you up or the high school coach pick you up or your junior high coach. It's not like that in pro. It's not. No. That's why a lot of times they have therapists. They need somebody to go talk to, sports psychologists, or whatever the case may be. When it's going bad, they have somebody to talk to, or they talk to a former coach, or they talk to a former friend or someone to bounce things off of, because that ain't what the head coach is, and that's not what, because they have so many other things going on.
1:16:02Shannon Sharpe:Trucking with E, Sharpen Ocho, the GOATs. Trucking with E, appreciate that, man. Thank you for your support. thanks for tuning in Nicholas Jeffries, Uncle Ocho will you guys ever do an interview at the Breakfast Club with Charlamagne the God, Jess, DJ Envy I think that would be a great sit down Ocho you did one didn't you? yeah yeah I did I did one on behalf of HBCU and how you with HBCU you already know HBCU I represent one hold up I'm a great I'm a great representative and ambassador for the highest of the seven hills Florida A &M you went to Oregon State I was there Oregon State for two months you wasn't that oh you wasn't that family I was I was listen I was I was Oregon State how many how many months were you at fam I listen I've been at fam you since 1984 I've been a part of fam you since 1984 1984.

1:17:15Shannon Sharpe:Oh, would I go sit down with Charlamagne, the God, Jazz, DJ?
1:17:26Shannon Sharpe:I would consider it. I got to make the rounds. I got to make the rounds at some point in time. I got a couple of people on my list. I'm going to go sit down with. Yeah. 1:18:33Shannon Sharpe:I remember Peyton asked him his return to play his former team but how was it for you when you played the Bengals? Did you play the Bengals on Joe? Nah. I played the Broncos twice in the playoff game and the regular season. One, both. And then I played the Ravens when I went back to Denver two times. It was 0-2. It's obviously, you know, the difference is you walk into a different locker room. You know, you say your pleasantries and you get ready to do your business. I remember when I went back to Baltimore with Denver, they had blueberry donuts waiting for me. When I went back to Denver with Baltimore, they had blueberry donuts in my locker waiting for me.
1:19:23It was great.
1:19:25Shannon Sharpe:Jason Zeldorf, Lamar is overhyped and overrated. The day he gets a ring is the day the world ends. well look I think he got it I give him I think he can still play at the level that he's playing at for another 5-8 years that'll put him at 16 it's hard for me to see him as good as he is that he want to get at least one all he needs is one he don't need 5 he don't need 6-7 like Brady or he needs one real carter ocho what's your bahama breeze order i usually get the uh beef and pot what's that empanadas what is that no i don't that's why i'm asking
1:20:19i never had it
1:20:25really no i ain't never heard of that yeah yeah oh okay you know what empanada is ocho yeah i don't eat them either i know what it is but i
1:20:37Shannon Sharpe:don't eat it eat everything else though but okay go ahead so what's your order yeah yeah oh oh my my meal at uh bahama breeze is jerk chicken pasta small portion no asparagus with extra chicken a side order of sweet plans and a Coke with no ice. I ain't never been to Bahama Breeze, so I ain't got no order. Flair said, it's not a question. Tidy request, I'm Jamaican, and I'm a damn proud one.
