In short
The crew debates an NBA investigation into a Gary Trent Jr. contract with the Bucks, then shifts to NBA rivalry talk, NFL receiver rankings for 2026, George Pickens playing on the franchise tag, 2026 QB rankings, and NFL/football stories (including Jerry Rice chasing a heckler). They also discuss pregame meal routines and general sports “storylines” (World Cup/Messi, rivalries, draft/rookie expectations).

- George Pickens plays 2026 on a $27.3M franchise tag; Cowboys may regret not signing long-term.
Notable examples
- NBA: Joe Smith voided deal precedent; Bucks backcourt crowded with Ryan Rawlings, Tyler Herro, Kevin Porter Jr., and Braden Burries drafted at #10.
- NFL: Debate over where Malik Nabors, Tyreek Hill, and Justin Jefferson/Puka/Jettas should rank; Jerry Rice chasing a heckler.

2:29Shannon Sharpe:Joe Ocho, the NBA is investigating a four-year, $64 million deal between Gary Trent Jr. and the Bucs for a possible salary cap circumvention. Trent is set to receive a significant pay raise and multi-year contract despite having some of the lowest production of his career. He averaged 8 points a game, shot 39 % during the 25-26 season. his lowest average since his rookie year when he played 15 games as a rookie in Portland. The NBA is looking into the contract as the lead collective bargain agreement contains the clause against prior agreements. Joe, first Kawhi, now this. What's going on? Even more fishy is paying him when they already had a crowded backcourt, Ryan Rawlings, Tyler Hero, Kevin Porter Jr., and they drafted Braden Burries with the 10th pick.
3:15Shannon Sharpe:So what's really going on, Joe?
3:17Chad Johnson:I ain't going to lie. It is a little skeptical, I can't hold you. But hell, I just seen Kirk Cousins. Did they investigate him? Did they investigate Kirk Cousins of all that money he been getting? Damn. Hey, listen. It's very unfortunate for the young man. I think he's still going to get his money. But yeah, man, I think coming off his worst season since his rookie year, Anken Ocho, I don't know what the –
3:41Shannon Sharpe:And some DMPs here fell out completely out of the rotation, Joe.
3:44Chad Johnson:So what do you investigate, though?
3:46Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, that's the problem I don't understand. It seems to me, because remember, when he left Toronto and came there, they only had$2.3 million. He took that.
3:57Chad Johnson:Yeah.
4:00Shannon Sharpe:So they're saying you had what they're surmising, based on this contract, when you fell out of the rotation, you had your worst production since your rookie year, which is 18-19, and you signed four years,$64 million,$16 million a year, and you had your worst production and you fell out of the rotation? Yeah, but hold on. When they investigate, exactly who are they investigating? Are they investigating the team or are they investigating the player? The team. No, they're investigating the team. And if they find some funny business was going on, they're going to nullify the deal. They're going to void the contract.
4:40Shannon Sharpe:The same thing they did with Joe Smith. Joe, remember what they did to Joe Smith? They had a handshake deal that Joe Smith took the minimum. He had a handshake deal that he was going to sign this big contract. Somebody, if I'm not mistaken, got fired in Minnesota, and he went and told David Stern what they had done. David Stern said, I got something for y 'all ass. I got something for your funky ass. I'm going to take three first-round picks. The next three years, I'm taking your first-round pick. I'm going to void the contract, and I'm going to put this fine on your ass.
5:09Chad Johnson:It ruined them. Yeah, it did. It did. It hurt them for a few years. Hey, but I got a question. They got rid of Doc Rivers. He resigned. He retired. Who's coaching over there now? Jamal Mosley. Oh, Jamal Mosley. So is it a case?
5:27Shannon Sharpe:As a matter of fact, I just saw him at the airport this morning. Oh, did you?
5:32Chad Johnson:Hey, listen. Yeah, I did. So I wonder, is it a case to where he likes the kid, Trent? Like, I don't know. I can't I'm trying to make it make sense I mean hell if he's just coming off his worst season I don't know man
5:50Shannon Sharpe:Eddie fell out of rotation he had some DMP's up in there Joe
5:56Chad Johnson:yeah so Doc probably wasn't messing with him that's what I'm trying to say I can't believe he investigated just because the man got paid boy yeah that's what I'm trying to see I'm trying to see what it is that they're going to look at like I don't get it I mean Maybe watch some of that footage, Joe, based on what we've been seeing with players throwing stuff on game. They need to go back and check. I'm just saying, you're laughing, bro. He might have been doing that on purpose, huh? Nah, nah, nah, nah.
6:30Shannon Sharpe:I don't think that. I think he did struggle. Because you remember, Joe, he had some years in Toronto. He was letting that thing fly.
6:39Chad Johnson:Yeah, he was.
6:40Shannon Sharpe:Even in Portland, and I think, go ahead, Joe.
6:44Chad Johnson:Now, in Portland and Toronto, they had pretty good teams, bro. He was surrounded by cats who were really, really good. I'm not saying the Bucs.
6:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, CJ, he had Dane.
6:53Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. I'm not saying the Bucs don't have that. But Giannis ain't played the bulk of the season last year, bro. He missed a lot of damn games. You know what I mean? So they basically was just out there, every man for they damn self. And he's not a guy.
7:07Shannon Sharpe:Hold on. Hello, Joe, hello. Taylor Jenkins, did somebody say Taylor Jenkins? Is Taylor Jenkins the coach, Ash? Let me look at that. Because I know Jamal Mosley got a job somewhere, too.
7:22Shannon Sharpe:Taylor Jenkins used to be the head coach at Memphis. Is he not a head coach at Milwaukee, Joe?
7:29Chad Johnson:Let me see.
7:34Shannon Sharpe:Well, I know Jamal Mosley got a job. Where did Jamal Mosley go? Taylor Jenkins in Milwaukee. Where did Jamal Mosley go? Because he was at Orlando, Joe. Pelicans. Pelicans, Pelicans. Yeah, Jamal went to the Pelicans. Okay, okay. Sorry about that. But yeah, Frank Skaminski said, so if you're underpaid, no one bats an eye. But if you get overpaid, investigate it. Investigate the guys that take minimum or lesser deals when their first market value is way higher as well then. See? I agree. Hey, he's like, hold on. Y 'all ain't going to investigate. Y 'all ain't going to investigate Wimby.
8:18Chad Johnson:Right.
8:19Shannon Sharpe:Wimby took 50 million less. Y 'all didn't investigate Jalen Brunson. He took 113 million less. Oh, he don't know something happening.
8:28Chad Johnson:No, hey, hey, you taking that less amount of money, hey, it's got to be. All right, I ain't going to speculate. I'm just saying.
8:36Shannon Sharpe:It's got to be a promissory note somewhere. Come on, man.
8:39Chad Johnson:Come on, man. Come on, man. That's all I'm saying. Come on now.
8:46Look, get your money.
8:49Shannon Sharpe:Get your money. Hey, look, like I said, I don't begrudge anybody, but I just hate that sometimes the way it's portrayed, if I don't take less money, Joe, Ocho, I don't care about winning. Yeah. I'm being selfish. Well, y 'all don't say that about the team, about being selfish when they don't pay and then let a guy walk because they didn't want to pay him. Hell no. But I want my bread. Now I'm selfish. Man, you ought to help the team. That ain't my team.
9:20Shannon Sharpe:That's not my team. Hey, when I leave, if something were to happen to this family, you think they're going to cut me and Joe? They're going to cut and say, you know what? You know what, Ocho? Ocho took a$50 million pay cut. You know what? We sold this team for$12 billion. Let's go ahead and get Ocho his money back. Man, please. You think he's going to do that, Ocho? Absolutely not. And they're going to tell you thank you, though. Thank you. Thank you. Ocho was so great. He was such a great guy. He was such a character. He was such a character. Oh, my God. He was so funny. He was hilarious. Nah.
9:55Shannon Sharpe:Give me my money. Give me that 50 million that I left on the table for y 'all so y 'all can get some other players. That's what I want. I ain't laughing about that. Nah, I need that money. AJ DeBonza on potential rival with Darren Peterson. So off the court, we're very cool. But the media and the NBA gods kind of build it into a rivalry. I've got somebody to say it's kind of like Tracy McGrady and Kobe. Reimagine. I'm a big Tracy McGrady guy. He's a big Kobe guy. So I guess they're going to gas that up. Ocho, Joe, is this the next big rivalry? Hey, I like it, fellas.
10:27Chad Johnson:You know, I think sports is always great when you have rivals. You know what I mean? And with these two dudes coming in the same draft class, one and two, Both have elite talent, and they put it on display for us in this summer league, and they showed us potentially that they can be superstars in the NBA. I'm looking forward to it, man. I enjoy the rival because Peterson takes me as a guy. He's probably going to use this his whole career for not going number one. Yeah, being number two. Yeah, being number two. That's probably going to push him throughout his whole career, Uncle Ocho, in the same way, A.J.
11:03Chad Johnson:DeBonson. I think he wants to show that he's the best player in the game, bro. The best young, one of the best young guys. Especially the best young cat in this draft. So I think it's a great rivalry. Both of them have a huge amount of talent. I enjoy watching both of them play, bro. I look forward to the competition level being at an all-time high. If we got LeBron getting ready to go out the game in the next year or two, man, we need to know that the game is in great hands, bro. And with this draft class, Uncle Ocho, like I've been telling y 'all, man, And it's some young Thundercats, some young superstars coming into the NBA, and these guys have not disappointed in Summer League.
11:40I mean, they haven't disappointed in Summer League. If you look at it, Joe. I'm not saying they haven't disappointed in Summer League, but as far as those, you know, the passing of the torch, I think it's going to be some of those other young guns, you know, your Shades, your LaMelo Ball, Anthony Andrews, Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown. It's going to be them that's going to take over from there. Those young bulls are going to be something to watch. And the one thing that makes the NBA great is you need stories. You need stories. So the story of them becoming that next dynamic duo that are battling and become – it would be dope for the game.

12:18It is some elite too, Joe. Do you still think they will be able to perform at a high level once everybody's back in that organized, structured environment with the best players?
12:30Chad Johnson:yeah i i think i think a lot especially like the top seven eight guys ocho top 10 guys you know they're gonna be pretty much featured in any offense or any team that they play for you know what i mean because you can't you ain't drafting guys like aj at one and just because he playing with trey and anthony davis that you only you ain't gonna have a package in there that's gonna feature him you know what i mean like they gonna get their opportunity they gonna get their chances Some I like because they're going into organizations or teams with veteran guys. Versus when you look at a guy like Caleb, I like the Powell pickup that they got from Norman Powell from Miami, the Bulls guy.
13:12Chad Johnson:But Caleb Wilson that's in Chicago, bro, his upside, I think he's going to have the best opportunity because I think he's going to play the right way. not only is he dynamic and have a lot of talent but i think he's more than just a power forward he's more of a tweener bro like a he can play the five he can play the three here he could probably even play the two i see him bring the ball up playing a one run and picking roles i just think he's so versatile that he's gonna get an opportunity hell he might be rookie of the
13:44Shannon Sharpe:year yeah look stories is that's what makes sports go around i need to what's the story behind it I mean, we got the World Cup coming. What's the story? It's Messi. Probably in his last international stage, an opportunity for the World Cup to go back-to-back. Only a handful, only two guys. I mean, Brazil, I think Italy went back-to-back 34-38. And then Brazil went back-to-back 58-62. So here it is, Lionel Messi. in his final World Cup appearance, Ocho, Joe, back to back.
14:24Chad Johnson:Oh, man.
14:26Shannon Sharpe:Man, what better story is this than that? Look at the stories of how down 2-0 to Egypt, down to England, down to this team. Yeah, down to Cape Verde, 1-0. And somehow Lionel Messi.
14:41Chad Johnson:Absolutely right.
14:42Shannon Sharpe:See? And you got, look, in 79 when you got Bird and Max, But what people don't realize, Byrd was not really drafted then. See, back then, Joe, I could draft a player, and if he went back to college, I still own his rights.
14:58Chad Johnson:And that's what happened to Byrd?
14:59Shannon Sharpe:That's what the Celtics did to Larry. Yes, yes. Damn. They drafted him the year before. He went back to school, but they still owned his rights.
15:15Shannon Sharpe:see back back in the beginning the draft was about was all about territories you go after guys like close proximity where you actually played because it wasn't a it wasn't a big thing like it is now so you wanted somebody familiar with that area so that's why you got uh Oscar Robinson getting drafted to the Royals yeah because what he went to cincinnati it's a no-brainer yeah so you get guys that's how we're gonna do it but yeah that's what you could do you could draft a guy and if he went back to school i still owned his rights and they don't let you do that they'll let you do that no they'll let you do that no more yeah because you know how to do because it used to be uh uh injury reserve right yeah and they started to let you do that, Ocho.
16:08Shannon Sharpe:When I got into the league, you could injure reserve, and then you could come off. But you know, some of those teams, they were stashing players. So then they said, you know what? We see what y 'all doing. You put him on injury reserve, he gonna stay his ass here the whole year. You see, recently, now you go on injury reserve, you can come back off. And you know, they gonna get the system, Joe. They just got to. They gotta find a way to cheat, man. I'm telling you.
16:33Chad Johnson:And they say, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
16:35Shannon Sharpe:Yes. Yes, yes. That's how they used to do. They were stash players. Tony Allen says, Hashim Fabi used to eat hot dogs and hamburgers 35 minutes before the NBA game. Man, take a listen to what he had to say. That's my boy. He was just a bad young fella for me. He ain't listen to me? Well, I got the members. It's hard at it. Man, he ain't listen to shit. I say, bro, big fella, you can't be eating hot dogs and hamburgers at 35 on the clock. He looked at me and said, says who? I say alright motherfucker I'ma got something for your way I was on his head after that He wasn't listening to this He started with skinny jeans and shades I say it's over with I said it's over with

Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that the kids can't access. Awesome. Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree.org. Brought to you by the Ad Council. I'm Mungus Shatigular, and I'm back with a new season of the podcast Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about and what it really means to live forever for all of us.
20:31I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain as opposed to his brain. Here's some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work. Make it look more defined. They say it works. I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
21:11Shannon Sharpe:Hey, the Nocho. The number two pick in the draft probably lasted long as what? A snowball in the microwave. And seven foot three, seven foot four, he was terrible. He was terrible. I mean, he was just awful. Ain't no way to sugarcoat it, Chad. It was that bad?
21:30Chad Johnson:Yeah, 7-1-7-2, Ocho, and you get kicked out the lead homeboy? Boy, something wrong with you. Yeah. Hell, you got to do it, baby. run up and down the court you get paid couldn't play dead in a horror movie hey it's easy to play dead in a horror movie hey that was one thing about me man i could not play with food on my stomach bro i had to play on an empty stomach so i used to see cats look oh okay i see cats coming to the locker room i'm like ta hell it's 30 40 on the clock how you eating chicken nuggets chicken fingers and fries hamburger i mean how you feeling you feel to go out here and play i was never one I need some on my stomach, Joe.
22:10Chad Johnson:You do before you go play? Before I go play, Joe. And I got the same thing all the time. Either I went to First Watch on Walnut Street in Cincinnati, which was in walking distance of the hotel we had to stay in because sometimes early in my career, they made it stay in the hotel. Either I go there or I go to the McDonald's in Covington. Hey, Joe, I get the hotcakes with sausage and they give me a large OJ, and I'm good. That's my pregame meal. Or when I go to First Watch, I get the – not Mama's breakfast. because that's a, I get the trifecta. You know, give me a French toast, give me two eggs, scramble, and a fruit cup and a cranberry juice, and I'm good to go.
22:45It's not heavy, though, Joe. It's not heavy, but it's just enough to give me something so I have some energy, you know, something in my system, so I'm able to go out there and perform.
22:55Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I can't eat three hours before the game. Three hours before the game, I'm cutting it off. I ain't eating nothing. I'm drinking very little water. I don't want nothing on my stomach.
23:04Chad Johnson:Yeah, I don't say you do that, Uncle Joe. yeah man I can't compete with some on my stomach Ocho like I you know I mean I need to feel light I need to feel light on my damn feet I mean fuel from you you need a few you need something in your stomach to be able to the few you to go though hey you remember boo hey hey hey you remember booby Johnson and Friday Night Lights hey hey hey hey this shit God-given baby hey hey it's God-given Nope. I need that a little bit.
23:36Shannon Sharpe:You want to win? Put boobies.
23:42Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I couldn't eat like that either. You know, I'm simple. I got French toast, had bananas cut up on it. I had egg whites and oatmeal. Water, orange juice.
23:54Chad Johnson:But after the game?
23:55Shannon Sharpe:I'm not going to eat that. But even after the game, Joe, I'm not a big eater after the game. I'm so I'm so amped up
24:06Shannon Sharpe:I mean I'm up here it takes me a while it takes me a while to come down it's the same way I can't go to sleep after after the show tonight it's going to take me probably about an hour and a half I'm glad you said that now listen we can go ahead since y 'all we all in time we can go ahead you know what I'm talking about hit what hit starless after this you heard me I got a busy day tomorrow I got a busy day too take the train we'll be back in the house take the train where? the starless in Brooklyn so we can get the full effect of being in New York
24:45Chad Johnson:man damn wild that's your problem
24:47Shannon Sharpe:I hear all these cars honking it took me an hour and 15 minutes to get to the hotel I'm good so y 'all don't want to go?
24:56Chad Johnson:i got i got i got a few ones i could throw man hey joe what area you in joe i can't tell y 'all that oh to see you be asking so many police questions i don't be knowing who
25:05Shannon Sharpe:you i can't i can't tell y 'all yeah yeah hey it shows it shows out like you got a wire on
25:11Chad Johnson:i'm just trying to communicate that's all i'm i'm in the vicinity just know that so if you come out if you come out your hotel try to take your little smoke break and i hit you side of the down head Yeah, just know I know it. Okay. Hey, Joe, I didn't know you were coming with that kind of energy all around New York. That's how – what you thought? You said it was on site. Hell, I ain't finna act like it. You know what I'm saying? It's all friendly. You done forgot about it, huh, Joe? Yeah. Yeah. I'm just letting you know. Hey, Joe, I got something. I got something for you. Don't worry about it.
25:41Yeah, okay. Okay.
25:43Shannon Sharpe:No. We – no, we couldn't – I mean, for me, I ain't never had no teammates to eat like that, not that late to the game. because we had to be to the game two hours before the game. So we played at noon, so we always played the late game. So we played at 2.05. So we got to be there by 12. I'm in my locker at 9.45, 10.
26:07Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. That's the same with basketball. If it's a 7 o 'clock game, hey, you got to be there at least by 5 o 'clock. You can't be there no late in 5 o 'clock.
26:17Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I don't like to be rushed. And I get up early in the morning because I already worked out with Mike. I said, Mike, he looks. He's like, hey, 84, just go ahead. Hey, just be quiet when you leave. So I'm leaving. I'm getting up at 5. I normally get up at 5, go home, go right back to bed.
26:39Chad Johnson:Yeah. I've got to take that nap now.
26:41Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, I'm going right back to bed. And he's like, well, you've got to eat breakfast. I'm like, no, I don't. No, I don't want you. I'm going to go to La Peep. There's a restaurant. I don't know if it's still open, but I think it is. There's a restaurant in Denver. It was called La Peep. I get two wheat germ pancakes. They about this big. Two wheat germ pancakes, scrambled eggs. You said wheat pancakes? Wheat germ. Wheat germ, yes. Bananas on top, no syrup. I never put syrup on it. Never put butter. Just eat them dry. like that? Yep.
27:20Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah, boy. We know you grew up in the woods, boy.
27:23Shannon Sharpe:There's a machine, Joe. There's a machine, Joe. There's a machine.
27:27Chad Johnson:Man, you don't put no honey, no serve. You don't put nothing on them?
27:31Shannon Sharpe:I didn't then. I didn't know. Oh, you said you didn't then, so you do now. Yeah, if I get pancakes. That's really why. I mean, I don't... I like waffles, but mainly I like pancakes. I like pancakes more than I like I just had a good French toast. Yeah.
27:48Chad Johnson:And nothing like a good pancake.
27:49Shannon Sharpe:I remember when I first got me some money, and I was on my own, the syrup I always wanted to get. That my grandma, see we got, my grandma always bought that log cabin.
27:58Chad Johnson:You want that Miss Butterworth then?
28:00Shannon Sharpe:I wanted that Miss Butterworth. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. What you know about that? What you know about that Miss Butterworth, boy? Shit, what? Man, I wanted that Miss Butterworth so bad, boy, man, Porter was not getting no Miss Butterworth. Boy, get that log cabin. All right, man. Hey, that Miss Butterworth. Hey, that Miss Butterworth. That Miss Butterworth on some pancakes.
28:19Chad Johnson:Oh, those things be jumping in there, man. Man. I already know it, boy. Hey. What? Boy, look here. Hey, hey, hey, hey. You get your mama and your grandma who really know how to make them a good pancake with them crispy edges, Ocho. Oh, man. Yeah. You slap that Miss Butterworth on there. Y 'all are tripping.
28:39Shannon Sharpe:My mama, my grandma. They got a, they got a man. We got to come back to New York cause they got a pancake. They got a place that make pancakes right here. Oh, they say the hours, the wait is like two hours. Hold on, hold on. They, they, the wait ain't two hours for us. Now, if you want to go there, let me know. I can make a call on that.
28:57Chad Johnson:Yeah, I want to go, bro. I know what I'm talking about. I seen them, uh, I think I seen them on IG or something.
29:02Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah.
29:02Chad Johnson:Boy, they look good too, boy.
29:04Shannon Sharpe:They look good. They look real good. They look real good. I'm about to sneak, I'm about to sneak my old Miss Butterworth up in there. hey what y 'all want to go tomorrow no i told me i tell you i got a busy day y 'all don't want to go get no breakfast for your day start man look here i'm not getting up that early with you i'm not i'm listen we get off the show what what time you get off tonight about 12 12 30. yeah i'm gonna wake up at five so you want to get breakfast joe after we fight i got hey hey i ain't gonna lie i'm going to i'm going to yoga
29:40Chad Johnson:at seven o 'clock yeah joe will uh it's uh it's probably about 15 minutes from here but you know we in new york so i'm i'm i'm going to give me a little high yoga in in the morning man before we
29:52Shannon Sharpe:get rolling you know what i mean okay okay yeah that's so nice we should appreciate you yeah yeah hey hey hey i appreciate y 'all for having yourself yeah i'm dolo man he got away solo hey boy congratulations what but she's like he signed up uh uh shelly shelly gave rochelle
30:12Chad Johnson:that permission slip she signed it hey why you hey hey hey why y 'all acting like that like we good look look that's over with that's over and done with we in new york you know i mean let's let's let's worry about our plans going forward y 'all talking about old stuff Well, man, I want to hear all that.
30:27Shannon Sharpe:Well, we got a little something planned in Houston with Poor Mind Girls. Oh, when? What's the date for that, Unc? In August.
30:35Chad Johnson:Oh, okay.
30:36Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to reach out. They're in London right now. They're getting ready to do a show in London. We're going to have to take our show. Oh, boy, hey, we big over there, boy. You hear me?
30:46Chad Johnson:I've been waiting for y 'all to say something. Hey, Unc, they love us over there now. We got a nice following. Hey, Unc.
30:52Shannon Sharpe:Yes, Unc. Go to Joe.
30:53Chad Johnson:Come on, come on, Unc.
30:54Shannon Sharpe:Come on. somebody gonna tell my day ain't got no pants i can see that i can see that hey listen listen
31:02Chad Johnson:listen first off that's all i got is my passport i keep it with me keep it on me yeah damn i keep
31:10Shannon Sharpe:it on me i gotta stay away from you a man and keep his passport on him he's gonna be He's like, do something crazy. You got to watch him. Yeah. Execs, coaches, scouts, rank the NFL top wide receivers in 2026. They got Jamar Chase at one, Justin Jefferson at two, JSN at three, Puka at four, Armand Roth St. Brian at five, CeeDee Lamb at six, Pickens at seven, Nico Collins at eight, A.J. Brown at nine, Devontae Adams rounds out the top ten. I don't know how they got Malik Nabors in there at 11 considering that he coming up ACL and he had surgery because the scar tissue built up. So I don't know how he got there in front of Mike Evans.
31:55Shannon Sharpe:Tyreek Hill, there's a chance he might not even play this year, Ojo. I don't know how he got to how he is. But I would have Jamison Williams absolutely up higher than what he is. I put him in front of Malik Nabors and Tyreek based on just injury history alone. Damn, y 'all think DK that far down at 19?
32:16Shannon Sharpe:I'm not putting him, man, hey, that kid, Alex Pierce, now he don't get no shine, no choke, but we know he, hey, he for real, Joe. Yeah, yeah. He for real, for real. Oh, he gonna get his chance this year, though. Look, absolutely. Chase, I'm not gonna argue with you, but I can't put Jell in, too. Not after what Puka, I'm not putting him in front of Puka. Let me tell you something. Jeter stand right there too. I understand what Puka's doing. I understand how great Puka is, but I also understand what Justin Jefferson has done since he's entered the league. Now, the fact that he didn't have a quarterback is the only reason why you're saying that.
32:58I got to factor that in. I'm not factoring it in. I'm not doing that. You got you. I know exactly what Justin Jefferson could do. I know exactly what he could do. Nah. I'm not playing that game and chastising and penalizing. and jettas because he doesn't have a quarterback based on what he's done since he entered the league i'm not doing that and puka got got him and puka got stafford throwing to him no man come but i'm saying but you make it seem like puka ain't put up numbers since he's been in the league hey um we talk about justin jefferson puka's great yes i like people he's great we talk about jettas man come on man yes come on now come on don't don't do that don't don't do that don't do that You saw Puka numbers.
33:45Shannon Sharpe:You said, don't pretend like Puka some slouch now. I ain't saying no slouch, but come on now. We talk about Jettles now. Come on. Don't do that, man. Come on, man. But I got to take in the totality body of work. If you take a totality body of work, then Jettles would be number two. Ocho, but I'm saying, last year happened. Puka has never had a year like that. And I know his quarterback situation, but guess what? Like you tell me all the time, when them numbers dip, they don't want to hear nothing about that quarterback duty, Ochoa. I know they don't want to hear it, but the reason why the numbers dip any still was over 1 ,000 with the quarterback situation they had, with the memory.
34:21Man, look here.
34:22Shannon Sharpe:1 ,000-yard forward receiver playing 16, 17 games, Ochoa, you know that ain't nothing. That's like a running back. That's like a running back getting 1 ,000 yards in 17 games. But they ain't but 58 yards a game. I understand. I understand that, but I understand the greatness that is Justin Jefferson. And even though he didn't have a quarterback, it was messy. It was messy for him. He still was able to get that thousand. I understand how great Pook is. I think Pook is one of those receivers. Honestly, if he had that same type of system that he has in L.A., he can go play on any other team and still produce the same way as long as they have an adequate quarterback.
35:00It makes it even better that he got Stabber. So he's going to go crazy regardless.
35:05Shannon Sharpe:I think the thing is that if you look at the guys that's been in that system, They catch a lot of balls, but the longevity is because you get so many targets and you get hit so much. You remember Cooper Cupp?
35:20Chad Johnson:Yeah.
35:21Shannon Sharpe:Cooper Cupp had that his scoring season. And then the injuries because you take so much punishment. Man, think about how many balls they throw to Puka. He got a lot. I wonder how many targets he had last year. Can Ash look that up? I'm curious. Yeah, Ash looked that up. And I think he missed two games, Ocho, and he led the league in receiving. Damn. And missed two games.
35:44Chad Johnson:He got a gunslinger back there.
35:46Shannon Sharpe:Oh, man, Stafford can play, I throw it. Stafford can play, I throw it. Man, could you imagine? Put Stafford in Minnesota. What would you think Justin Nimbus would look like? Matter of fact, how about this? You know what, do me a favor. Take, put Jettas in that L.A. offense with Sean McVay. What you think Jetta Nimbus would look like? hey any any receiver you look at uh uh what what the one thing out of mike shanahan's system the receivers if you're that boy oh yeah absolutely absolutely you're gonna put up numbers if if you just go back and look at the west coast you go start with jerry you start going sterling sharp and terrell lowens and you look at all those guys that played in that system oh they're gonna put up numbers they eat oh they're gonna get you about oh they're gonna oh they're gonna feed you Joe.
36:34Shannon Sharpe:They're going to feed you. They're going to move you around. Catch him if you can. Because he's going to be on the right. He's going to be on the left. They're going to put him in the backfield. They're going to put him in the slot. Look at JSN. Clint Kubiak. You see? Remember they lied JSN up in the backfield. I'll throw him a touchdown out in the backfield. If you in that West Coast system and you a receiver boy all you need you don't need it. If you got a great quarterback Devontae Adams with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. Hey, ugly. Hey, boy, we're ugly. That back shoulder. Oh, yeah. Ocho, that man got 113 touchdowns in 10 years.
37:20Different.
37:21Shannon Sharpe:113. Different. It makes you realize just how many Jerry got, 197. Receiving touchdowns. That's crazy. in a league that they didn't throw the ball like they threw it down. Hey. Okay, so you leaving everything as is. You got Chase 1, Jetta 2, JSN of 3, Puka 4, Armand Russell. You leaving everything as is. I don't even see. Where's Devontae Smith? They ain't got so many up there. 22, Ocho. Puka caught 129 balls, Ocho, on 166 targets.
38:03Shannon Sharpe:and he missed two games that's crazy listen depending on who you ask so he's getting almost basically 17 games he's getting nine targets a game you know what I don't like Nico Collins being so low I don't think people understand how good Nico Collins is but if I want to take him up if you put him up you got to take somebody down that's exactly what I get ready to say
38:26Chad Johnson:hey what's the average what's the average targets a game or receiver get your top receiver 7-8 7-8 Hey listen For Chase For Chase
38:43Shannon Sharpe:Yeah
38:44Chad Johnson:But the average
38:46Shannon Sharpe:When you equate everything out Somewhere between 7-8 Yeah
38:52Chad Johnson:Well my Cowboys having two guys In their top 10 I'm expecting big things From this year I expect a big disappointment Damn Joe Hold on hold on hold on Why you expecting a disappointment What's up Cause you expected a lot Me
39:12Shannon Sharpe:I'm expecting what I think they should do We should be a pretty damn good team You been expecting that for 30 years Do you remember them championships Joe You probably like a teenager Hey Joe he's talking about collectively as a team Now I'm with you when you're right When you talk about George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb individually or they finna go crazy. They finna act a fool. They finna act a fool. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. Ain't no way in hell Smitty is the 22nd best receiver. No. I don't care what y 'all say. Malik Nabors has... He has surgery on a knee. He tore his ACL, but it said he had scar tissue buildup.
39:55Shannon Sharpe:Tyreek might not even play this year. I can't base it on I cannot base it on what they were two years ago Malik Nabors was fantastic but he got off to a horrible start last year Joe and we saw Tyreek we know what Reek was when he was in Kansas City and we saw what he was those first two years in Miami but this is a serious injury for a guy that's in his 30s yeah and you're going to put him y 'all gonna put him over smitty i wonder who made that list oh i just should probably somebody random
40:40Shannon Sharpe:what y 'all think mike abby's gonna do in that system he's gonna eat what shanahan system man yes what's the difference than shanahan and mcveigh huh What's the difference? Nothing. Because you do realize McVay was up under Shanahan in Washington. Mike's going to have one of his better seasons. Yeah. All them guys. All them guys. McDaniels, that's the offensive coordinator at the Chargers. He was under Mike. He was under Kyle when Kyle was in Washington. All them was on the staff.
41:21Chad Johnson:yeah he said hey mike evan stay healthy uncle ocho yeah he gonna yes cut up yes he gonna cut up even to get that ball they put him they put him all over the place to get that ball
41:33Shannon Sharpe:j-mo j-mo j-mo man j-mo big play potential man he just he'll threat every time to get anywhere on I feel. Hey, man, hey, man. Amon Ra nice, too, bro. Amon Ra, to be as small as he is, he's so shifty, he's so crappy. He be killing that slot. And he can line up on the outside, too, now, if he's me. Yes. But you do it, Joe. Ocho, you remember Jamison Williams with all those guys at Ohio State. He left Ohio State and went to Bamboo.
42:02Chad Johnson:Yeah.
42:04Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. All those guys and Garrett and the guy that's in New Orleans, all those guys, they were in the same receiver room.
42:14Chad Johnson:Yeah. Ohio State put them out, boy, wide receiver. Oh, yeah. Ohio State and LSU. They've been on the run for a minute too, boy.
42:25Shannon Sharpe:Damn. Yeah. But if you go receivers, as far as just like receivers, ain't nobody touching Ohio State. Because you got to go all the way back to Chris Carter. And you remember Joey Galloway, Terry Glenn, David Boston. Hold on now. Hey, don't forget Alabama. Alabama is in the conversation. Oh, Alabama. Alabama had a nice little run. Alabama started with Julio, and then you had Ridley, and then you had Coop, and then you had Devontae, Ruggs, Judy, Waddle. Who else they had? They had another receiver too. Who else they had? They had a nice little run. But, I mean, you go – I mean, you look at – and the one thing, there only been a handful of receivers that couldn't run.
43:12Shannon Sharpe:Joey Galloway. People don't realize how fast Joey Galloway was. Joey Galloway was 4-2. Man, that pigeon-toed Joe was joking. Man, the first time I saw him, I didn't know where to say hello or throw bird seed at him. That joking. Hey, Joey was – he was so fast, and he hold the ball like a loaf of bread like this, Joe.
43:30Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah.
43:32Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, I don't know if you remember, but if you look at his sleeves, he had them big baggy sleeves on the jersey. Like the quarterback. Like the quarterback, yep. Everybody else got their sleeves cut because they don't want to get grabbed. He already know you wasn't going to press him. You press him and you miss him.
43:46Chad Johnson:He gone.
43:47Shannon Sharpe:He was striking the bag out. Over. And David Boston, big, physical. He just, I don't know what happened. I don't know what happened to Boston, man. He just. I remember how big David Boston was when he was in San Diego. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He left Arizona and went to San Diego. I'm talking about Joe. He looked like a bodybuilder, boy. He was huge.
44:18Man, it's not the Cowboys year, Ash.
44:22Shannon Sharpe:Get that out your head.
44:24Chad Johnson:Ash, hold on, hold on. Ash a Cowboy fan too? Is she? Ash, what's up? I knew, girl, I knew you I knew you was alright with me, girl Huh
44:35Shannon Sharpe:Hey, she love the Cowboys Hey, Cowboys In TCU, in San Antonio
44:40Chad Johnson:Oh yeah, oh yeah
44:42Shannon Sharpe:Cowboys first No, TCU first Then the Cowboys, then San Antonio
44:48Chad Johnson:Oh, she from Texas?
44:49Shannon Sharpe:Yes Oh, oh yeah We gonna do some damage in here, Ash Had me get tickets to, remember when when TCU played Georgia in the national championship game?
44:58Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah.
44:59Shannon Sharpe:Had me get tickets. For what?
45:01Chad Johnson:Do you remember where the score was?
45:04Shannon Sharpe:I got tickets, she on the 50 yard line, her and her brother. Tell me, we having a good time. Score 48 nothing at the house. What time you having?
45:15Shannon Sharpe:Hey, I say, I know you not having a good time. You know how I know, but how you know? I say, cause you calling me. I'm home. What the hell you calling me for?
45:26Shannon Sharpe:You're having a good time. You calling me 65-7, and they stay for the whole game. Wow. And I'm leaving. Man, you let my team fall down 48-nothing. What I'm staying for? She ain't leave early? No. They stayed the whole game. Damn. And she brought paraphernalia. Remember all that? She got phone fingers and childhoods. I don't want nobody to know I went to this game. I promise you. George Pickens will officially play the 2026 season on his$27.3 million franchise tag after Wednesday 4 p.m. deadline passed. Pickens says, like the tag and all that, it's just football first, so definitely play football first, kind of like I did last year, then worry about the contract.
46:12Shannon Sharpe:Well, let my agent worry about it, really. Pickens is the only player to be franchise tagged this year and not receive a long-term deal before the deadline. Daniel Jones, two years,$88 million. Brees Hall, three years,$43.5 million. Kyle Pitts, three years,$54 million. Ocho? Yes, sir. Are the Cowboys going to regret not starting signing pick to a long-term deal when they could have got him? Because if he plays like he played last year, it's$45 million. It's$45 million. They're probably not going to be able to give it to him. Joe, obviously, if you saw Pickens last year, you understand what you do.
46:48You're in a better situation with a better quarterback and a better offense in general. So he's going to pick up where he left off last year. He's going to have a great season, and the Cowboys are going to regret it. Now they're going to do everything they can this year and hoping that having George Pickens on that team, they get as far as they can. They're hoping they get as far as they can, Uncle Joe. And, hey, Joe, honestly, I'm hoping they do. I know Pickens is going to ball out because of the situation that he's in. You have a very, very, very good quarterback. when the opportunities come your way all you got to do is do what you did last year make play
47:25Chad Johnson:I sure hope you're right there's two things you can count on when it comes to them people with the star on the helmet you can count on CeeDee going to hell to slap off and you count on George Pickens being NFL young boy he gonna show up now hey listen I hope he do his thing man I think he will get paid Hey, Ocho, maybe not this season. I'm saying, but after the season. It won't be in Dallas, Joe. How you figure that, Ocho? You don't know. You don't know what's going to happen.
48:00Shannon Sharpe:Joe, I just don't see how they pay him. You know Dak, they're going to have to do something with Dak, Joe. Yeah. Dak about to get over$300 million. He's going to be close. He's going to get$400 million. He's going to want$65,$70 million a year. What you going to do with Quinny Williams? What you going to do with CD?
48:18Chad Johnson:Listen, we're going to have to cross them bridges when we get to them, but we take care of business this season. You win, everybody get paid. No, everybody can't get paid.
48:27Shannon Sharpe:No, it ain't going to be – You got two number ones on your team, Joe. Dak Prescott's going to want$150 million at signing. He's going to want$275,$300 million guaranteed, Joe.
48:39Chad Johnson:Jerry got it. He got it here. It's a salary cap, Joe. You can't pay all them people, Joe. Well, listen, Ocho.
48:49Shannon Sharpe:Listen, it's a good thing to have, Joe. Dak make it, what's Dak make it? Dak make it like 55 now, 60 now. What you think he gonna want next to Joe? He the highest paid quarterback too, huh? Wait, no. Nah. My homeboy. My homeboy, yeah. My homeboy, 65. He overlapped him, that's right, that's right.
49:10Chad Johnson:We got some work to do, fellas. Yeah, yeah, I wish y 'all nothing but the best. I know. Don't worry, cause y 'all gonna hear from us. Y 'all gonna hear about us. Y 'all gonna hear from us all damn year.
49:22Shannon Sharpe:Oh, we'll receive the receipt. No, we won't. I mean, y 'all start out fast, but you know a horse that poop fast don't poop long. He don't poop long. So I already know how y 'all gonna get out there. All right. You gonna be hyped. First day, he gonna come out here hyped. And when I tell you, how about them cowboys, Ocho? And just slowly as the season progress, come on, man, come on.
49:45Chad Johnson:Nah, nah, nah, nah. that ain't gonna be us baby we locked in we locked okay yeah we're gonna have the nfc sold up over there so what about philly oh man they just lost aj brown i know they got the young boy just come in uh what's his name melica what's his name yeah yeah yeah but yeah we ain't we ain't worried about the giants we ain't worried about the as they banged up here uh uh scatterboo uh neighbors all Look, what do y 'all think to do? I'm saying, that man had ankle surgery. Neighbors probably ain't even coming back this year. That's what y 'all don't know. What about Odell? You don't got no belief in Odell coming back?
50:27Chad Johnson:I hope Odell do his thing. I like Odell. But I'm saying, damn, you expect Odell to carry the damn Giants wide receivers? You don't have no choice but to carry him. Boy, some neighbors come back. That's what they brought him in there for. Come on, Ocho. Come on, Ocho. We know that ain't happening. I think Odell going to have some great moments. He going to have some great games. but to think he gonna carry them for 17 games y 'all basically what you're telling me is the dallas cowboys will run the nfc's ta-da there i've been i've been trying to tell you that i don't know why you act like it's so hard for you to understand damn damn i like it i like i can tell you i know who's gonna run the nfc's i can i can i can i bet my money on it oh cd lamb and george pickens i bet i bet that now the team itself i don't know But that gonna - Hold on, how you gonna bet Cee?
51:17Chad Johnson:I'm just saying hypothetically, you know, if there's a way to bet, I'm betting on them to do their thing. That gonna get the boys the ball. They gonna do their thing. Now, as a team, I don't know what y 'all gonna do. Okay.
51:34Shannon Sharpe:I'm gonna take your word for it. Oh, Joe, I don't know, Joe. I don't know. The Cowboys, the Cowboys, they, the Cowboys normally like Cowboys. That's one thing we can count on Mojo. So we count on the Cowboys, Cowboys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, one thing about them, they can move the needle. They can move the needle. It just don't move when it's supposed to though.
51:56Chad Johnson:Oh yeah. You know, we're gonna make it happen now.
51:59Shannon Sharpe:What you gonna make happen?
52:02Chad Johnson:We finna get this championship. That's what we finna get. If the Knicks, hell on. If the Knicks just won a damn championship in 35 years, come on, man. 53. 53. Come on, man.
52:13Shannon Sharpe:I like it.
52:14Chad Johnson:It's our time.
52:15Shannon Sharpe:You see what happened? Ocho, you see what happened? Because the Knicks won a championship in 53 years. He said, well, it's 30 for us, so it's time for us to win what? I like it. I like it.
52:26Chad Johnson:Yeah, it's time, bro. It's time.
52:28Shannon Sharpe:Oh, the Super Bowl is so fine. Because next year it's in Atlanta, Joe. So you might want to wait until they come to Atlanta.
52:33Chad Johnson:The Super Bowl in Atlanta next year?
52:37Shannon Sharpe:The year after. This year is going to be in so fine. Okay. In 2027 it's in so fine. In 2028, it's in Mercedes-Benz. Damn. When is coming back to Florida, man? No. I think it, no, Joe Ocho. I think it goes, I think it might go back to Vegas. Because you know they love it. In Vegas, especially now, and they love effing New Orleans. I don't know what it is about New Orleans, but nobody's had more Super Bowl than New Orleans.
53:07Chad Johnson:Hold on, hold on, hold on. Nobody has had probably more All-Star games than New Orleans. Hell, NBA All-Star games. Hell, I know I played in about three or four of them in New Orleans. Damn, how many times are we going to play in New Orleans?
53:20Shannon Sharpe:New Orleans getting the Super Bowls, man. Why is that? Look, hey, it's a dome. Hey, they like to party. People like to go drink. Have a good time. But see, that's why, you know, you put it in the warm weather. People like to get outside. Oh, these cold weather. Man, they had the Super Bowl in Minnesota. Man, that damn 10 degrees. What the hell you gonna do in Minnesota? Ain't nobody trying to walk around no damn mall of America. And that's no disrespect, Minnesota's one of the best kept secrets now, wide kept. But anyway, that's neither here nor there. Hello. But anyway, I was saying, look at your, look at your face.
53:55Chad Johnson:Yeah, nah, I'm saying hello. I'm picking up what you're putting down.
53:59Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey, Prince, back in the 90s, they had Glam Slam.
54:04Chad Johnson:Yeah. Yeah. Off the meter.
54:08Shannon Sharpe:Oh, he be up in there too. Yeah. And I think they had another club that Prince on their first, I think it was first half. Chat, am I correct? I know Glam Slam. Like that?
54:24Yeah.
54:27Shannon Sharpe:I'll tell y 'all the story off there. Oh, Shay with Hell. Shay with Hell, but what's up on the time? What's up on the time? What's up on the time? Long, long, long time ago. You know, Dollar Bill said long time ago. Stimpy game started in Africa. Long, long time ago. He said, they're out there, bucket, nigga. Bucket, nigga.
54:46Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.
54:50Shannon Sharpe:February 14th. Guess what? It's on Valentine's Day this year. It's in SoFi. In February of 28th, it's in Mercedes-Benz. February of 29th, it's in Allegiance. In 2030, it's in Nashville, Tennessee. Damn. You know, they just built a new stadium. Buffalo, don't y 'all put no damn bid in.
55:13Chad Johnson:Buffalo just built a new stadium? Yeah. Man, look, that should come with it here. You build a new stadium, that mean you should be getting the Super Bowl or the All-Star Game. Absolutely.
55:26Shannon Sharpe:They try to. because what happens, you have to be to get all the kinks and bugs out of it. So you have to be in the stadium at least a year before they'll give you a Super Bowl.
55:36Chad Johnson:Okay.
55:37Shannon Sharpe:But come on, man. I mean, look at SoFi, L.A., Atlanta. Y 'all know how we get down. Allegiant, Vegas. There's so much for you to do. You can sit your ass out by the pool. You can go gambling. They got eateries. Vegas got it all. Vegas going to be in a five-year rotation. Vegas going to get one every five years for sure. They can go get one every five years for sure. Damn. For the first time in three years, NFL executive and scouts have crowned a new QB1 in the ESPN annual rankings. Josh Allen, one. Mahone Boy, two. Stafford, three. Burrow, four. L Jack, five. Dak Prescott, six. Justin Herbert, seven.
56:24Shannon Sharpe:Drake May, 8. Jerry Goff, 9. Caleb Williams cracks the top 10. People ask him, man, where's Jalen Hurts? Jalen Hurts, if I'm not mistaken, he was ranked the 17th best quarterback coming into the 26th season. Hey. Ocho, got any problems?
56:53Hey, Young, this is tough. Can I ask you a question? Yes. Why isn't Josh Allen in front of Mahomes?
57:02Shannon Sharpe:I guess we said, you know, the last couple of years he's been more consistent and Mahomes coming off an injury.
57:10Shannon Sharpe:So they're factoring that. Okay, I like Stafford, Stafford in front of Bro. I like it. uh Lamar Jackson back I I like it I mean I there's really nowhere I can argue I can't I can't really argue with anything outside of outside of one and two uh Stafford obviously belongs at three even though he's older uh Burrow has a lot to prove so where he at is is is respectable uh would like a little bit more playoff success uh from him and being healthy and staying healthy this year He can move up. Lamar Jackson, again, he has to prove himself in the postseason. I mean, they're able to get there. Injuries kind of took a toll on them last year.
57:55So, collective as a team, they didn't do well.
58:01And outside of that, the numbers, everyone after Lamar Jackson is about right where they should be. Yeah. Yeah.
58:12Shannon Sharpe:What you thinking, Joe?
58:15Chad Johnson:yeah I don't really I don't see no where where you can gripe and groan as far as who should be moved uh I see they got my boy Dak at six all right we can live with that you know what I mean yeah yeah I don't see no wrong with the list huh you got it you got it you got a guy y 'all do y 'all have a guy that y 'all think should be in the top 10 that's not in the top 10?
58:42Shannon Sharpe:Not me. Look, I know Jordan Love has been consistent. And Jordan Love have these peaks. He have these peaks where he'll go five, six weeks and he'll throw two, three touchdowns and no picks and then he'll have weeks where he's like, damn, bro. A little inconsistency. But this guy, they got a 10? I can imagine what he's going to be like in this second year in that offense.
59:09Chad Johnson:He's going to be a lot better. Kayla, absolutely. I wonder how many people would take Justin Herbert out and put Jordan Love.
59:26Shannon Sharpe:I don't think the execs will. Because they love that size. They love that arm. And he's more mobile than you think. I'm curious what the chat thing. Chad, would y 'all take Justin Herbert out and put Jordan Love? Or no? You like the... Drake may acquitted himself very well in his second year. I think he'll be even better in his third year under Josh McDaniel's system.
59:53Chad Johnson:Yeah. Lamar, the thing is, is Lamar is in a new system.
1:00:05Shannon Sharpe:And the thing is, if you go back and look at Lamar, Lamar won the MVP in Todd Munkin's system, and he finished second in Tom Munkin's system. Ocho and I, we talked about it. We had him. We thought he had won it a second time. Josh Allen nipped him at the wire. Mahomes is Mahomes. Matthew Stafford seems to be getting better with age. Joe Burrow, Joe Burrow, he stays healthy. Dak put up some phenomenal numbers. Now he just has to do it in meaningful big games. Hey, I got nothing. Drake may took a team to the Super Bowl. I got another one. Jerry Goff has always been to the Super Bowl. Caleb, I expect Caleb Wave.
1:00:44Shannon Sharpe:Caleb Wave is going to be here. I have a question. We have a quarterback that started out in New York, didn't play well, went to Carolina, you know, didn't do much. But he goes to Seattle, and not only does he go to Seattle, he went to Minnesota, played extremely well in Minnesota. He went to San Francisco first. San Francisco, oh, my goodness. I have a guy damn near journeyman. He goes to Seattle and wins the Super Bowl his first year. so how is he not even in the top 10? Where are you playing Sam Donald in that equation? I'm tripping. Baker Mayfield is not on there. No, but the question is, okay, to put Sam Donald, Baker Mayfield.
1:01:26Shannon Sharpe:Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert. You're taking Justin Herbert off. Okay. So you're going to put Sam Donald and Justin Herbert. I would, or Jordan Love. or that you said one more quarterback. Or Baker Mayfield. That's interchangeable because, I mean, what's the difference?
1:01:47Shannon Sharpe:So you take Baker Mayfield over Justin Herbert? Oh.
1:01:57Shannon Sharpe:I like Baker, but I don't know if I take him over Justin Herbert. I mean, you're looking at Justin Herbert as the quarterback and then tangibles, you know, tall, strong, can run. but Baker Mayfield is the engine that makes that Tampa Bay offense go on. You can't deny him. You can't deny him. If they can stay healthy, I like the running back situation in Tampa. They got to stay healthy because remember Chris Garvin was Nick last year. Mike Evans was Nick. And Mecca Abuka was doing very well that he got Nick late in the season. If they can stay healthy, they got a solid defense. Now, Levante David retired.
1:02:35Shannon Sharpe:So, Vita Vell's going to be, hey, you know, he's upset. He want a contract. He got no more guaranteed money. He wants to do a contract extension. Winfield Jr., I'm anxious to see how they do. Because I think, hey, Atlanta, y 'all need to show me something. Y 'all got too much damn talent.
1:02:51Chad Johnson:It's time, too, boy.
1:02:53Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all got too much damn talent to be over there bullseye. It's time. It's time. I like the controversy that's going to happen over there in Atlanta, too, boy. What do you mean? As far as quarterback? What? He's talking about Tua and Penny Jr. hella quarterback controversy over there huh you think so yeah joe i don't even know who your
1:03:11Chad Johnson:starter gonna be well i mean is pennix healthy i don't think he healthy from the procedure that he had right oh he was throwing him he was throwing a mini camp well here uh mahon throwing that mini camp oh joe here but you ain't is he gonna be ready to start the season that's a good you know that's a good question i'm not sure very good you're moving around like he was with that You never know where your next unforgettable experience will pop up. This week, Coach Dr. J, Julius Erving, and the undefeated Chicago triplets are going up against Nick Young's L.A. Riot, Montrezl Harrell, Brandon Moss, Amir Johnson, big man Dwight Howard, and Jordan Crawford. Big names, real hoopers, no easy buckets.
1:17:41Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah. That's going to be a good one.
1:17:45Shannon Sharpe:What you thinking? You think Chicago's going to stay undefeated, Joe?
1:17:48Chad Johnson:Yeah, I think they're going to stay undefeated. Man, they got a great, solid team. I don't know what you mean. You don't know who's going to beat you. Like, Amir Johnson had, like, 27 and 15 the first game. Then they had another guy who come back. He may have 25. You know what I mean? They got so many guys who could beat you, bro. Montrell Harris came and had 30-something one game. So every week they've had a different guy, and they got so many guys to where they're probably the deepest team in the big three right now. They playing the best basketball. They got the momentum. They got chemistry.
1:18:23Chad Johnson:they looking to go out there and try to get them one bro they trying to take advantage of the opportunity that they got they got a great chance
1:18:33Shannon Sharpe:alright it's time for our final segment of the evening it's time for Q and A hey Joe you ready Joe you still great alright we're gonna go man Brooklyn
1:18:48Shannon Sharpe:LeBron knows where he's going. His goof, you know what? Just dragging it out for attention. So if he did, let me ask you a question. If he did, if he did told you two weeks ago, was it not going to get covered?
1:19:05Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all make it seem like he's going to get more attention by waiting this. He's going to get the same amount of attention. This is LeBron James. Yeah, absolutely right. And many believe this is probably – this is either this or next year. But a lot of people, probably 80 % of the people believe this is his final year, 24th, year 24th.
1:19:24Chad Johnson:Mm.
1:19:28Shannon Sharpe:And if y 'all don't know anything about that, Brian's going to mark to his own beat.
1:19:34Chad Johnson:He is. And, okay, I think he – it still may be a domino or two that need to fall before he really commit.
1:19:41Shannon Sharpe:I agree. I think so, Joe. I think so. I think so. I think the thing is that something like this, I mean, it takes more time than you think. Yeah. Because I'm sure we've all been in a situation, yeah, I'm going to get that one. And then you go home and you think about it, nah, I think I'm going to get this one. Nah, man. I mean, damn. Man, look at me, Maxie, and B, Jalen Brown, and Edgecombe. damn Giannis me Giannis bam
1:20:19Shannon Sharpe:Hardaway Jr Wiggins but then I got a chance to play with Steph and Draymond and then I got to deal with Cleveland I got two twin towers I got Moley I got potentially Harden got Mitch I don't think it's as easy as people think it is. Me personally, I don't. I don't think it's as easy as people think it is. Me neither. I know how easy it is. The easiest decision he ever made was when he left Cleveland the second time. Wasn't nobody else even in the running.
1:20:58Chad Johnson:Right.
1:20:59Shannon Sharpe:He was going to the Lakers. Wasn't nobody in the running. It wasn't like the first time that he left Cleveland, he went to Miami. He ended up going to Miami, but everybody was pitching him. Chicago pitched him. The Knicks pitched him. Obviously, Miami pitched him. Ain't nobody pitching. When Fridgeon started, Magic pulled up on Rich Paul and Bron. Had to contract their hands. So what y 'all want to do?
1:21:30Shannon Sharpe:What y 'all want to do?
1:21:32Chad Johnson:Yeah, that's what Magic did.
1:21:33Shannon Sharpe:He had to do it after selling. Bron wanted to come to L.A.
1:21:36Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:21:36Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, the main is my job. I'm going to L.A.
1:21:42Shannon Sharpe:Ocho, thoughts on Olyse wanting to go to Royale Madrid? Yeah, I think it's going to happen. I heard the fee was, what, maybe$200 million,$250 million, something like that. The numbers are crazy. I mean, he's really good, man. I might as well call Michael Olyse the maestro, you know, based on the way he plays. He can create, he can dictate. really, really, really good passer. 1v1 situations. He's nice. He can create for others. He can create for himself. So I can see why there's a chance that Mourinho and Florentino Perez, if I'm not mistaken, might pull the trigger on that. Wow. If ISO can get permission to sign and notarize, y 'all should hold the fishing competition and Coach Price late.
1:22:30Shannon Sharpe:That'll be must-see TV.
1:22:32Chad Johnson:Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Yeah, he got to know the ride. Yeah, we got to get out of hand. Because he's been forgery.
1:22:39Shannon Sharpe:Because we don't trust him. I don't trust him. He's forgery.
1:22:42Chad Johnson:Hey, hey. This is getting out of hand, guys. That's all. It's getting out of hand. Hey, hey, hey. Let me tell y 'all something funny, though. For real. I was going through the airport today, and this dude walked past me. He said, hey, Joe, man. Don't believe that bull crap. Ocho be talking about me. Don't do it. Don't do it. He kept walking. He didn't say nothing. He said that to Kel Walker.
1:23:08Oh, damn. My light went out, man.
1:23:14Shannon Sharpe:Love the late run. Ocho, I'm high as a mug. My bad.
1:23:23Shannon Sharpe:Izo, how did you get a team? How did you get a deal with Team Jordan? And what's the perks you had of being a Team Jordan athlete?
1:23:29Chad Johnson:Bro, I played on an Olympic team in 2006. Yeah. Well, I think we lost to Argentina.
1:23:39Shannon Sharpe:Argentina.
1:23:40Chad Johnson:Yeah, they had this big deal. We couldn't stop over there. But anyway, Lynn Merritt and Nico Harrison, they both was with us throughout that whole trip when we was in China for like, what, three weeks to a month or so. And I remember close to being end of the trip, But Liam married who's the head of Nike for the ones that don't know. He came up to me. He was like, man, what do you think about being a brand Jordan athlete? I'm like, let's do it. Because, you know, brand Jordan is Nike any damn way. Yeah. So for me, that's kind of how it happened. And ever since then, bro, I just, you know, it's like a dream come true.
1:24:17Chad Johnson:Being part of the dream. Being part of the brand, bro.
1:24:20Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all remember the Hercules?
1:24:22Chad Johnson:Yeah, I do. I do. Ocho don't remember.
1:24:26Shannon Sharpe:I don't know who that is. They had Zoc, is the laser ray dragon, Tundro the tremendous.
1:24:35Chad Johnson:Yeah.
1:24:36Shannon Sharpe:Eagle is the rock eight. And they had Gloop and Gleet with the blobs. And I think Zandro, Tara, and Darno. Yeah, yeah. Darno was the kid. I think that was them. But I ain't seen that. I mean, you got it. It came out. They did an episode. But it was only out for like one year, like in 1981. So it's been 45 years, and how I still remember them people. Zock, the laser ray dragon. He spit like out of his eyes and out of his tails, he could spit lasers. And Tundro the Tremendous was like a rhinoceros, but he had a bunch of legs. And Igloo was a rock ape. What year was that? 1981. Oh, damn. I was at night.
1:25:24That's the year I was born. I was eight, what you were 10, I was 10, I was nine.
1:25:31Shannon Sharpe:Damn. No, I was 13. I was 13. You were 13, I was 12. Damn.
1:25:38Chad Johnson:Damn.
1:25:42Shannon Sharpe:Man, they used to have good cartoons back in the day. Space goals. Man, they did, bro. They did. Now, it ain't no fun watching cartoons every day. You had to Saturday to get up early, get that cereal, watch the cartoons get up and cut the grass first gotta cut that grass first good boy

It might be sensitive, but you're not showing up to Houston. It's sensitive to me too, so I feel the same way. Well, we're going to get it on. But you know what? 1:32:29Shannon Sharpe:At 46, give me a realistic timeline for shoulder reconstruction. Rotators, labrum, bone-on-bone cleanup. A fully healed. Age just caught up with me, supposed. Six to nine months feel realistic from the 31st of March. Yeah, that seems about - realistic probably you could go nine to twelve months actually yeah hey hey hello why he talking
1:32:50Chad Johnson:real talk you know i just come off this little knee surgery and uh i had a guy who i was doing physical therapy with he had just had shoulder surgery that man struggled way longer than me bro yeah hey that shoulder ain't nothing to play with and he got hello he had a total

1:33:20Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah.
1:33:22Shannon Sharpe:And you got to attack that thing, too, because you can't go too hard because you must ride a tear because that labrum, they attach that back. Yeah, okay. And then the rotator cuff?
1:33:32Chad Johnson:Hey, look, the dude who had surgery, he said he wish he had my injury versus the injury that he had. He said that's how bad it was, bro.
1:33:42Shannon Sharpe:Mm-hmm. and that bone on bone when they put that bone on bone because you got to realize bone on bone that thing that's a constant pain and to fight through that and to try to get that range of motion so you can open that thing up that's the hardest thing because they take because they because i've had shoulder issues man and they say just relax let me control it i don't don't control
1:34:06Shannon Sharpe:because because they want you to just relax okay shannon just relax just relax i got it i got it Nah, you don't got it. Yeah. Man, just to let that thing go and then they control it and move it around, try to lift it all up like this. Oh, man.
1:34:23Shannon Sharpe:Give yourself nine to 12 months, bro. Don't be in no hurry. Yes, sir. Don't be in no hurry. Dallas Cowboys fan here, ISO. Dads, did dads catch it? That game killed him. No dads, they catch it.
1:34:35Chad Johnson:Hold on. Against Green Bay? He caught that ball against Green Bay. Oh, you got to chill. Oh, you got to chill. Did Calvin Johnson catch the play, Ocho? Against Chicago? Yes. When he used the ball to lift himself up? Yes. Yes. That was a catch too, boy.
1:34:54Shannon Sharpe:What is the definition of a catch, Ocho? To the letter of the law. If a person in the field of play goes to the ground and he's not forced to the ground, he must maintain possession of the ball throughout the entirety of the act of catching the football. So basically you go to the ground get your ass up and hand them on to the official
1:35:18Shannon Sharpe:Dang I knew was he reviewed it ours said no they don't go they go they go say that's the dusty are The Calvin Johnson rule. I do they're gonna do that because he went to the ground on his own And it's funny. I remember exactly who they was playing in both them game
1:35:35Chad Johnson:Y 'all know they change made a hell of a play
1:35:38Shannon Sharpe:he went up over the top of it it was $4 they came with a blitz and they penalized him for trying to get in the end zone trying to I caught that ball I don't care what y 'all say Ocho you seen ISO's brother Andre Johnson did the Finnegan better watch out
1:36:02Chad Johnson:see how he had Finnegan out there like a damn rag doll I'm not Finnegan, you hear me? Yeah, you gonna be Finnegan.
1:36:10Shannon Sharpe:Dre gets swole every time we talk about that.
1:36:12Chad Johnson:Yeah, you gonna be Finnegan, don't worry about it. I'm gonna knock the eye out of ISO, you gonna be so Johnson.
1:36:25Yeah, what's up? You got the right one, bro.
1:36:30Chad Johnson:All right, all right.
1:36:31Shannon Sharpe:Uh, I, uh, I, so please remind Milk Dudd he was wrong about Ja going to Miami. Man, you talking about one person, man. I knew Ja wasn't going to Miami.
1:36:40Chad Johnson:That man, that man just throwing stuff at the wall, hoping it stick. Hell, he don't know what he doing. I knew Ja wasn't coming to damn Miami. Man, can't handle this business, goddamn. In Memphis, you think he's going to come to Miami as wild as... Oh, now look at him, Unc. Oh, wow, wow. You supposed to take him up under your wing, though. Come on, man. I was throwing, I was throwing it out there. Just, you know, in jest. But he's in the right place where he needs to be in Portland. He's going to be all right.
1:37:08Shannon Sharpe:Oh, King Isle Ocho. Can you wish my beautiful, amazing woman I've been with for five years and counting? Sierra, happy 38th birthday. And the Bengals going to win the Super Bowl. Who they? Five or three. Absolutely. Happy birthday. Go ahead, Joe.
1:37:23Chad Johnson:Happy birthday. He ain't being realistic here.
1:37:27Shannon Sharpe:Happy 38th birthday, Sierra. Birthday, twin. Your king said y 'all been together for five years and say it's been amazing five years. He doesn't know what he did to five years before he even met you. But now that he has you in his life, he can't even fathom what it would be like not having you in his life. So happy 38th birthday and many more years. Hold on, I got me a little anniversary coming up too, bro. What you got coming on, Ojo? A little two-year anniversary, bro. I'm trying to think. Two a year? Y 'all, you doing something? I can shoot down to Miami. I can shoot down to Miami. But that thing that went by fast, too, boy.
1:38:03Chad Johnson:Damn, boy, time goes. I'm telling you, Joe. I exit stage left. I ain't look back. Period, boy. Hey, Ocho. Ocho, they say time flies, boy, when you're having a good time. You ain't gonna lie about that one, Joe. I'm picking up what you put down. You hear me? Yeah, yeah. If you throw it on the ground twice, I'm gonna pick it up twice. Okay. All right. I'm over here doing my one-two. Hello. Hello. What about your threefold? I'm trying. I'm thinking that. I might hit the door.
