In short

The hosts debate where LeBron James will sign next, using Rich Paul’s “whiteboard” team scenarios, and discuss Cleveland’s reported willingness to trade for Bronny to lure LeBron. They also cover Draymond Green’s comments about LeBron’s impact, Kyle Kuzma’s critique of the NBA CBA, and unrelated sports results (Morocco vs Canada; Big3 matchups).

Guest backgrounds

The episode is hosted by “Joe” and “Ocho” (no formal guest list in the transcript). It references NBA figures and executives: Rich Paul (LeBron’s agent), Cavs assistant GM Brandon Weems, Draymond Green, Kyle Kuzma, Mark Stein (reporter), and Mark Stein’s cited sources.

Key claims

  1. LeBron’s “last move” should maximize winning while keeping him central; Miami is presented as the best fit.
  2. Rich Paul’s board is framed as strategic PR to drive conversation.
  3. Cavs are reportedly willing to acquire Bronny (Bronny’s Lakers contract guaranteed) to lure LeBron, but the hosts argue it’s not a true “sweetener.”
  4. Draymond says people underestimate LeBron’s basketball and economic “weight.”
  5. Kyle Kuzma argues the CBA’s aprons function like a hard cap, squeezing player value and continuity.

Notable examples

  • Rich Paul’s board lists likely destinations (Warriors, Mavericks, Celtics, Sixers, Cavs, Heat, Wolves, Nuggets, Spurs, Knicks).
  • Mentioned roster fit points: Miami’s defense and “facilitate” role; Cavs perimeter concerns; uncertainty around Embiid for Philly.
  • Morocco beats Canada 3-0; Canada’s Alfonso Davies is benched after missing all group matches due to a May injury.

2:35Shannon Sharpe:Rich Paul created a whiteboard outlining LeBron James' realistic potential destination. As you can see, the Warriors, Mavericks, Celtics, Sixers, Cavs, Heat, Wolves, Nuggets, Spurs, Knicks. As you can see, he got four guys and then LeBron in the mix. You see Maxie, Edgecombe, Brown, and B, LeBron. And you got Cleveland. You got Mitchell, Wiggins. Excuse me, that's Miami. Damian Mitchell, Andrew Wiggins, Giannis Bam, Braun. And then you got Ant, Mello, McDaniel, Gobert. And then you got Murray, Johnson, Gooden, Jokic. And then you got Mitchell, Harden, Mobley, Allen. And then you got the Spurs, you got the Knicks and so forth and so on.

3:16Shannon Sharpe:Joe, you see Warriors, Mavs, Sixers, Heat, Wolves, Nuggets, Cavs, predominantly featured. And then you got the auxiliary on the edges. You got the Warriors, Mavs, Celtics, Spurs, Knicks. And then Mavs most likely listed as a non-basketball reason. Cavs assistant GM Brandon Weems, a big X factor in Cleveland. He's basically LeBron's brother. Speaking of, here's LeBron with St. Vincent, St. Mary's, including Cavs GM Brandon Weems and Akron last night. hey

3:52Chad Johnson:I think LeBron if the Knicks wouldn't have won it Uncle Ocho I think he would have gladly went to the Knicks I think with that New York market and his brand he would have took him to a whole other strategy especially if they didn't win it and he got there and they won it oh man it would have been something else but anyway for whatever reason I told y 'all man, that's a lot of scenarios up here that look great. But to me, I think he's going either to Miami or Cleveland, bro. Listen, listen. Hey, I appreciate Rich Paul. I appreciate Rich Paul and everything he's done. I'm excited. I like the PowerPoint presentation on the race board.

4:35You know, that's just to confuse people, to get people thinking, to get people talking. I understand the dialogue. I understand the content that you created with doing such. But one of the few people that you won't be able to confuse is the person that knows Ball. And I'm someone that knows Ball. I think I might know better Ball than Rich Paul. Now, even though he represents LeBron James, they've been together for a multitude of years and had great success in the relationship that they do have. But obviously, during this time, on the back end of his career, you want to make this last dance your best dance.

5:03You don't want to go anywhere in any of these scenarios where you can't be functioning like the king that you are. You're not taking a backseat and having a similar situation to what you just left in L.A. So the best place, the best opportunity for that, we can also contend for a title when they add other pieces around you to go with Bam and Giannis is Miami. Now, it was very cute. I like what Rich Paul did with the with the with the presentation on the race board. But none of that is happening. LeBron James is not going to the goddamn West and dealing with them young bulls. He's not dealing with young guns.

5:36I agree. His easiest way to have a chance at another title, you know, and get number five would be down in Miami. It just would be. I know, and we talk about, you know, going to the Knicks enough and some of the things that would have made much more sense as far as his brand, you know, being grown globally. He doesn't need help with that. He doesn't need to help with that. Not at this point in his career. He is who he is. He's a global phenomenon, and the best thing for him to do is come on down to Miami because as pretty as some of the other things look, It just doesn't make sense at 42 years old and year 24, 23-year career.

6:12Chad Johnson:Hey, listen. Go ahead, Joe. I kind of understand where Ocho's coming from, considering the fact that Cleveland doesn't have the perimeter defenders to be able to deal with some of these top heavy guards that's in the Eastern Conference. You know what I mean? I think that's going to play a part. And I just think Miami has a nice, very attractive team to where he's probably looking like, damn. Like, you got to understand, the pressure wouldn't be on him to score 25 a night. You know what I mean? He could just be cerebral throughout the entire season, bro. And I think it'll help. They got guys who can defend and look Davion Mitchell at the point.

6:54Chad Johnson:You know he's going to be a pest against some of these top guards. Man, I just think they got what it is.

7:00Shannon Sharpe:Your three-point shooting, though, Joe.

7:02Chad Johnson:They're going to add some guys, though. See, the thing is, I know a lot of these cats out here, when you look at Klay Thompson and people probably been downing him for the season that he had last year. But, bro, when you play with guys who really know how to play and know how to use you and get you shots and make you look better than what you really are, I think if you put Klay Thompson in a system like that, he'll thrive. I just think there's so many different options for him. If I'm LeBron, bro, I'm just kind of sitting back. seeing who making changes to their roster and where I can just fit right in and we can take off.

7:38Shannon Sharpe:No, Darius Garland. This is a negative for the Cavs. Bron loves Garland like he loves Maxie. Rich says LeBron would have signed with the Knicks had they not won the NBA championship. If the Knicks hadn't won, there would be no board. He'd be going to the Knicks. Rich says every team has reached out outside of one or two. Yeah. According to Sean, LeBron would choose between the following six NBA teams. The Cavaliers, the Heat, the Nuggets, Sixers, Timberwolves, or Warriors. Minnesota Timberwolves are aggressively pursuing LeBron, and a confidant there in the hunt to acquire him per John Krasinski.

8:16Who is this?

8:17Chad Johnson:You say the Sixers?

8:18Shannon Sharpe:Timberwolves.

8:19Chad Johnson:Timberwolves. The Sixers, I forgot the Sixers look good too, though, Ocho. Yeah. Hey, hey, but if I'm Bruin, if I'm Bruin, I'm calling MB right now. Hey, hey, hey, look, look. Let me know what's going on, big fella. How many games you got for me? Do you think we really, really got a chance? Because I don't want to come down that night. You're going to be half. You know what I mean? Yeah, that's what I am. He in a great spot, bro. You know, at 41, about to be 42, you still get a chance to pick where you can go and play and still make good money.

8:50Shannon Sharpe:Somebody still wants you at that age. Man, come on, man. I mean, if you think about it, there are not a whole lot of guys. How many guys average 21-5-5? Or 21-6-6.

9:00Chad Johnson:Hell, there ain't many who done that in their career.

9:04Shannon Sharpe:He did it at 41. Yeah. So it's nice to be wanted.

9:13Shannon Sharpe:He's just not a guy that can do what he once could consistently game in and game out. Yeah, he'll have a monster game. Joe, I still believe he'll have a game, one or two games next year, where he gives you a damn near triple-double or a triple-double with 30 points. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. He just can't summons it up like he once could routinely. Right, right. The question is, like you said, Ocho, this is his last move. It's got to be his mess move. Because the thing you don't want to do is like, okay, is it a one or is it a one plus one, one year, and then the player option for year two? Because you don't want to be in a situation where, guess what?

9:51Shannon Sharpe:The player option, I opt out and I want to go somewhere else. If you play one year or you play two years, this has got to be your final destination. Right. The last stop to Cucamonga.

10:02Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. Hey, hey, and you know he's doing extensive work, him and Rich Paul. They're going to take their time with this process, and it may drag out a little bit, but I'm here for it because I want to see where he's going to go, and I know he's going to change the landscape of the game, especially if he goes somewhere in the Eastern Conference. The funny thing about it too, Uncle Joe, is they playing chess. They playing chess. They already know where he's going, huh? But obviously the buildup and the excitement of it, you know, and Rich Paul saying all the right things. Oh, my client, LeBron James, you know, doesn't know where he's going.

10:33He's probably not going to know for a few days. But they've always been two steps ahead of everybody else, always, especially when it comes to business and making important decisions like they've always made throughout their career. Yeah. Everything's been methodical. Everything's been methodical. And it's planned out strategically. So they know exactly where they're going. I know exactly where they're going. Are they going to say it? No, they're going to play the game the way the game is supposed to be played and have everyone else on eggshells, wondering and talking and creating conversations about what it's going to be.

11:01I know where he's going.

11:02Chad Johnson:So you basically say he's going to Miami, no doubt. Yeah, of course. Joe, what have I ever been wrong when it comes to my basketball knowledge? Well, I'm just saying it's a lot of intriguing spots out there. I know. I know that's what makes it exciting. That's what makes it exciting because there's so many different intriguing options, especially some that are very beautiful to most, but we have to understand what LeBron doesn't want. He doesn't want to be second fiddle. He doesn't want to be third fiddle. So you have to be careful about where you're going because you're just going to be back in the same situation you just left.

11:31Okay. Huh?

11:34Shannon Sharpe:You can still be the main man down here in Miami. Look, the days of him being, you know, that guy and getting, that's over. Wherever you go, Ocho, he's going to have to, he's still LeBron, but he's not going to be, I mean, wherever, because if that's the case, he might as well have stayed with, took the three, five million dollars, whatever the Lakers had. I think that the biggest thing for him, he realized this. He realized the Lakers really didn't want him. He knew that. Yeah, I mean, why stay in LA? Why stay in LA? Think about it. Huh? They got all that cream and just one piece of coffee? Nah.

12:14That's what it was.

12:15Shannon Sharpe:The thing is, Joe, he knew they didn't want him. he knew this was Luka's team. Everything when he said he wanted this, okay they got him that, but he wanted DeMar DeRozan they didn't get DeMar DeRozan he wouldn't give him the third year. Chicago ended up giving him the third year. That's why he went to Chicago you got a guy like a DeMar DeRozan that could get a bucket with AD and LeBron, but that's neither here nor there they settled and he looked at basically everything that Luka has asked for you're getting it look it's like LeBron bro mm-hmm well you you you you 40 years old we we've got to move on hey and I and I can't I can't say Joe we can't say we blame him

13:05Chad Johnson:no we can't but with that I think that's gonna fuel Bron to come out and prove and prove them wrong whether he said or not he gonna let his play do the talking and don't let him go to a situation to where he really has a chance to win a title. That's probably what he's figuring out right now as we speak. You feel me?

13:27Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, who gave me that best opportunity?

13:28Chad Johnson:Because think about it. Okay, the Lakers didn't want me cool. Long as somebody do and I still got a chance, I'm going to come out and prove their ass wrong. I'm going to come out here and win a title with Miami again or Philly with what they got. You know what I mean? I just feel like he has so many options. And this is a rare situation, bro, to what we see a cat in his early 40s, 41. still being recruited or coded by a lot of these teams.

13:54Shannon Sharpe:Yes.

13:54Chad Johnson:And arguably the greatest player to ever play the game, man. Listen. Hey, and when you think about it too, Uncle Joe, does he really have anything to prove? He shouldn't be having to prove anything else at this point. You shouldn't have to prove yourself at 41, 42 years old. You shouldn't have to. The proof is in the pudding. We know what you've done. When you ride off into the sunset, you supposed to ride off into the sunset, peace with that monkey off your back. No burdens. Let me ask you a question, Ocho. Now, I think about the situations that can lessen the burden, would also give you the chance.

14:26You know what? I can get me another ring. I can get me another title if I go to this specific team that fits me just well, where I can still contribute. The best option is Miami.

14:38Shannon Sharpe:Ocho. Talk to me. Have you ever blocked one of your exes? Yeah, they sent me an email after that. You blocked them? Yeah, I blocked them. They email me. She don't make her get in the shower? Hey, Joe, I turn upside down. Huh? Huh? Ain't nothing wrong with a little twang to it, Joe. See? You know what I told you, Joe? 16:52Yeah. Yeah. Hey, Joe. I like that. Working and everything. Yeah, I like that. I like that. You like to get that little whiff. That little whiff of that. Nah, hey, Joe, you got to do the finger test, Joe. Yeah, you good.

17:06Shannon Sharpe:What? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Put your hand down there. You got to lick your finger first, Joe, so you know. Why you got to lick your finger first? because the saliva will give you the right flavor on the smell.

17:20Shannon Sharpe:Chad, I did not approve this message. Oh, Lord, help us. Hey, I'm telling you, Joe. Hey, Joe. Hey, listen to me now. I know what I'm talking about, boy. Huh?

17:30Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, hey. I used to be in the field heavy, Joe. Hey, listen. I understand the test, but now I ain't, the lick it first and then, nah. I ain't taking that test. Nah, nah, use your finger first before you go down there, Joe.

17:41Shannon Sharpe:huh okay you know like you know now we know now we know who number one we know joe number two because joe say he ain't gonna do the finger test but he'll do something else hey okay joe i'm talking about this how it was 20 years ago i ain't talking about right now

18:14Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, what that spin bike called? What's the spin bike they got? Peloton. Hey, she on the Peloton? That's Ocho right behind her. All right, listen, I'm just giving you examples based on experiences I had 20 years ago. That's all. Okay, all right, I got you. I understand. Yeah, that's it. I ain't had no money for no room. hey i used i used to you know they had they had a little plane before i got a little change on me right yeah in okachobi right it's called the executive palace they got the room with the garage you pull in walk up the stairs you got the pole it got a little jacuzzi in there yeah it's called executive palace so you got to try it we call it the chobi what you mean i got to try it what you mean i mean just in case you want you want to you know you know try something different man try something different instead of that fancy shit go to the chobi down here in miami

19:59Shannon Sharpe:I mean, look, you can just pull in your driveway and just hit the car. That's still an option. Yeah, yeah. You gotta think, Joe. This when I was a little jit, Joe, I was young. Don't worry about the hips. The hips just fine. Get on in that back seat. I grew up in a Chevette, in a Fiero. I grew up in small, compact cars. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

20:24Chad Johnson:You made it work, didn't you, man?

20:26Shannon Sharpe:I already know it. I already know it. I already know it. Hey, hey, hey, hey, had to roll this – Hey, that mosquito's tearing my back up.

20:37Shannon Sharpe:Hey, don't stop it. Hey, don't stop it. Man, y 'all love what? So, Minnesota's in the mix. So, the Cavaliers, Heat, Nuggets, 76ers, Timberwolves, and the Warriors.

20:51Chad Johnson:What you thinking, Unc? What you got?

20:53Shannon Sharpe:Ooh.

20:55Chad Johnson:Realistically. I think it's three teams out there that he's probably juggling right now.

21:00Shannon Sharpe:I do too. I think.

21:08Shannon Sharpe:I really do think the Nuggets are in play because he got a guard. He got a big. They don't really. I think I agree with you. I think I think the Sixers became became eligible when they got Jalen Brown. but the uncertainty of Embiid causes him some concern.

21:29Chad Johnson:Yeah.

21:31Shannon Sharpe:So for me I would put Heat one, Cavaliers two, Nuggets three, Timberwolves four. You don't got Philly in there at all? Philly would be at it because there's too much uncertainty with Embiid. Based on his history Joe So, if we get 55 games, that is the absolute best we can hope for. That's 55. That ain't going to be enough. But here's the thing. What do we see in the postseason? He played one series and then what? Yeah.

22:10Chad Johnson:That's why if I'm Bruin, I'm on the phone with him. You know, hey, I'm letting y 'all know, boy, hey, y 'all one of the front runners, but damn, I need to know what type – I need to know where Embiid's mind at, bro. What he got going? Like, that's a real chance, Uncle Ocho. Boy, they will be – you talking about having perimeter defenders in JB and Edgecombe? Shit.

22:31Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

22:32Chad Johnson:Man, please.

22:36Shannon Sharpe:Mm.

22:38Chad Johnson:We going to see. I wonder how long this –

22:40Shannon Sharpe:I would split Max and Braun's time, even though I would let – you know, start them out together. I would always split them so I always got one of them on the court. Yeah, so – always got a ball handler on the court. That's how I would do it.

22:53Chad Johnson:So you would probably take Bron out about the six-minute mark in the first quarter, let Maxie play the whole first quarter, then you start Bron in that second quarter. Yeah, yeah. You're right. And you really think about what you just said. You really think Bron want to go through that? No. That's why Philly is not an option. He don't want to do that. He don't want to do that. Where you can go to goddamn Miami and control the ball. Huh? I'm going to run the show. I ain't got to do that much I don't have to be the king I don't have to be the chosen one I got them two young bulls down there that gonna do all the work I got Giannis I ain't got to do nothing but facilitate when I want to shoot I can shoot when I need to get to it I know I can get to it I don't want to have to shoulder the load put me in position oh now you got me on the bench I got it I got to come out at the sixth minute till Max can come in I got to sit for what when I can go down to Miami

23:46Shannon Sharpe:that's kind of how he did it If you go back and look at it, that's kind of how he did it. He would come out for the six-minute mark, and then he would stay out for four minutes, and then he'd come back for the final two minutes. That's how they kept his numbers around somewhere between 32 and 34 minutes a night. Give or take, he might play a little less, just in case we needed a little extra in the fourth quarter. But the Minnesota Timberwolves are aggressively pursuing him, and they are confident they're in the hunt to acquire him. He loves Ant-Man. Look, he knows Ant-Man is going to bring it every single night.

24:22Shannon Sharpe:He knows he has an elite wing defender in McDaniels. He got a rim protector in Gobert. Melo.

24:34Chad Johnson:That's probably one concerning thing is that I've never really seen Melo play off the ball like that. Nope. So, you know, I know he's going to be a ball dominant guard, and he's very unselfish. He make guys around him better. There's no question about that. But those minutes when LeBron come in late game situations, under six minutes, under four minutes, when he going to want that ball in his hand, is LaMelo going to be a guy who can spot up and take and make shots? Yeah.

25:04Shannon Sharpe:That ain't happening. Some of those shots that he be taking. From 30, 40 feet out. Having fun.

25:12Chad Johnson:It's going to be a difference now. Hey, whatever team Bron go to, y 'all know everything is going to change once he shows up. Like, I know we talk about he ain't going to be 1A, this, that, and the third. But you talk about a guy who understands pace and know how to dictate and manipulate a game. Bro, he's one of the best at that. So, I'm glued, bro. I want to see where he's going to land because it's going to shape up the whole NBA. Yeah, I told you what the shape is going to look like. and his shape is going to start back here in the east. He's not going anywhere. He's not dealing with that West.

25:49Listen, great, great thing. Listen to the whole Ant-Man and LaMelo thing. Yeah, if you're playing NBA 2K and you add the addition of LeBron on the video game, yes, that's phenomenal. In real life, absolutely not.

26:01Shannon Sharpe:In real life, absolutely not. Before I go on vacation. Huh? I said, I hope he makes this decision before I go on vacation. Oh, okay. Wait, when you go on vacation? After the World Cup, the 20th. Damn, we leaving? Where we going? Joe, where you going, Joe?

26:18Chad Johnson:I'm probably be working, man. I'm probably take over while y 'all gone.

26:22Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, Joe got the second week. Who are y 'all? Joe get a week off because we going dark. And then Joe got the second week, him and his guests. And then we got this, we still, we off the second week, and then we come back. Okay, so, okay, let me start playing me a little trip, man. You playing me a little trip, man. I'm gonna take the kids somewhere. Yeah. Damn. He's dribbling the ball with everything on the line. He's driving down the pitch. He's facing price hikes and cuts past him. Carrier Contracts tries to block him. Oh, he leaves him in the dust. He's at the edge of the box. He cuts past the nonstop group chat trash talk.

26:51He clears on goal. He shoots. No! Unlimited data for$25 a month forever. Visit your local Boost Mobile store today to get unlimited data with a price that never changes.

27:12Chad Johnson:I turned off news altogether. I hate to say it, but I don't trust much of anything. It's the rage bait. It feels like it's trying to divide people. We got clear facts. Maybe we can calm down a little.

27:31Shannon Sharpe:NBC News brings you clear reporting. Let's meet at the facts. Let's move forward from there. NBC News, reporting for America.

28:07CA approved eligibility required and determined by a licensed provider. Individual results may vary. See website for details. 16 years ago, I started working as a CNA in the hospital. I loved it. On the day I decided to enroll in the nursing program at Rasmussen University, it was afternoon, my 35th birthday. I was hanging out with a friend and they had just questioned me what I was going to do with this next chapter of my life. I immediately had said, I want to go to nursing school. So I actually had contact information from an advisor at Rasmussen, contacted her and actually ended up starting like three weeks later.

28:36My name is Cherish Adam. and I'm a Rasmussen University graduate.

28:39Shannon Sharpe:Learn more at rasmussen.edu.

28:42Chad Johnson:Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for$15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made$15 bills, but it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try at mintmobile.com slash switch.

29:04Shannon Sharpe:Upfront payment of$45 for three months, $90 for six months or$180 for 12 month plan required. $15 per month equivalent. Taxes and fees extra. Initial plan term only greater than 50 gigabytes. Me slow when network is busy. See terms. We've been going straight. How long? When the last time we had a vacation? What? Last year. This time. Yeah, that's crazy. We've been going straight off the muscle. Uh-huh. Yeah, okay, okay. I'm going to take me a little time off. Okay, cool. Hey, baby, see where you want to go. According to Mark Stein, the Cavs are willing to acquire Bronny James in order to lure LeBron back to Cleveland.

29:38Shannon Sharpe:Bronny's contract with the Lakers this season just became guaranteed. Cleveland will be open to two roster spots for LeBron and Bronny. Joe, is this a smart move to sweeten the pot to entice LeBron to come back to Cleveland?

29:53Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. What we talking about, Uncle Ocho, look, the Cavs got to find a way to have an upper hand. This is how they had an upper hand, Ocho. I'm sorry. Y 'all probably going to miss out on this one, partner. I'll just keep it 100. If he can, hey, if he can continue to play with his son, Bronny, man, please.

30:10Shannon Sharpe:Nah. Hey, Baker said, nah, we ain't doing that. We like him. Huh? Nah, we like him. We ain't gonna do that. We ain't trading him. Yeah, that ain't sweetening the pot for me, Uncle Joe. You got to understand the game. All it is is just an organization trying to play the game. It's like a girl say, you know what? I'm gonna give you my number, but I ain't gonna let you hit. I'm going to give you access but I'm not going to give you all you want I'm just trying to lure you in to see what I can get at you they just want a favor

30:41Chad Johnson:you got to take your emotions out of this I know what you want I get it I understand it if Atlanta was in the hunt hell I'd be the same damn way but listen if the Cavs trade for Bronny I think it's a no brainer on where Bronny's going what we talking about bro

31:00Shannon Sharpe:no it's no no it's not joe man joe be at the every game it brought in atlanta man what hey he had his thing turned up to the maggots what y 'all not understanding man you letting people play with you like that oh we're gonna bring your son over here and you know to lure you to come man nah man that's like that's like your kids on halloween man they tell you hey when a when a car pull up and they offer you candy don't take it no don't fall for that

31:28Chad Johnson:shit hell nah man please that man what type of candy is it huh is it skittles kit kat hey hey hey they finna do the decision part two and this time it's gonna be going back to cleveland ain't gonna hurt it ain't gonna hurt the cleveland hearts this time nah yeah come on joe see hey

31:50Shannon Sharpe:i'm starting to question your ball knowledge joe all right all right only one of us been right all Oh, yeah, so. Oh, man, come on. I'm just saying. Draymond says people don't understand the weight that LeBron carries and the Lakers are going to feel that next season. I still don't think people understand the force, the weight that the guy carries. You know, from an overall standpoint, you know the economics that he brings to a team, the economic impact that he may have on a city. And then also the basketball, like anytime LeBron James is on the floor, A, your team has a chance to win. and B, you have to account for him in a major way.

32:28Shannon Sharpe:And I think personally the Lakers are going to field that next year. Yeah.

32:34Chad Johnson:You won't miss him until he's gone. I think the fact that he's gone, and you're talking about probably your best playmaker that you have on the team. Yeah. I thought he made AR and Luka's job a lot easier considering the role that he came in and he played this past season.

32:52Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

32:53Chad Johnson:So, yeah, you definitely going to feel the weight of him being gone. And he going to make you remember, too. Watch. He's another guy. We talk about Jalen Brown, how he's going to come out and try to be one of the best players in the NBA. Brown going to be the same way, bro. When you get that type of rejection from a team, man, you know what it do. It put a fuel in you. It put a little fuel in you, Uncle Ocho, to where you want to come out here and prove to yourself that, man, look, I knew they was tripping. Mm-hmm. damn

33:23Shannon Sharpe:Drayvon also say if rivalries matter in trades or free agency in the NBA I tell you they mean something sometimes but nothing when guys are trying to get their money because if that where we're getting your money from it is what it is and these teams don't really give a damn about players most of these teams so I'm not mad at players going like oh the rival like it ain't college it ain't it ain't They're not. This ain't New Carolina. This ain't Ohio State, Michigan. This ain't Alabama, Auburn. Yeah. And the rivalries aren't the same as they used to be in the NBA. I mean, at one point, you know, Lakers-Celtics was a huge rivalry, if I'm not mistaken.

34:05It was. Who was it back in the days?

34:08Shannon Sharpe:It was, but there was no free agency. Yeah. Okay. So now, yeah, so basically, if you played the Lakers, you played for the Lakers, you played for the Boston Celtics, for the most part, you stayed at Boston, you stayed at the Lakers. Right. But it ain't like that anymore. It's free agency now. Right. And guys are moving. Who got the most money? Holla at your boy.

34:30Chad Johnson:There you go.

34:32Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to where the money is.

34:35Chad Johnson:Hey, that's what they're doing in college. Hell, for sure. Same thing.

34:41Shannon Sharpe:Look, the one thing about baseball, baseball has always been that way. Baseball don't care nothing about rivalry. that's why they signed Johnny Damon the Yankees signed Johnny Damon from Boston and I don't care nothing about that and I'm trying to win I don't care Dodgers and the Giants I don't care anything about that I am trying to win and if this guy's a free agent and I can get him I'm going to go get him and they're always going to go to the biggest dollar if you go Juan Soto took a little more money. He's like, nah, 700 million. Let's see. I'll take 500 million. Yankees had a little less years, but he's like, nah.

35:31Shannon Sharpe:That's how you keep... They say, nah, we're trying to keep these numbers up. So, no, it's not the same. NBA, even the NFL, it's not the same. Because you have free agency now. Guys can move around. Me and Joe Green couldn't leave Pittsburgh. Bob Lilly couldn't leave the Cowboys. Randy White, they couldn't leave. Now when you got free agency, you can only keep so many guys. You got a salary cap. It's not the same. It's a big difference.

36:02Shannon Sharpe:Kyle Kuzma went off on the NBA's current collective bargain agreement tweeting, after sitting here watching NBA free agency this year, overall, the NBA movement over the past two years, somebody has to say it. The new CBA has sold as parity, but it's the first and second apron are starting to function like a hard cap and player value team continuity and the players movement and a players movement. Excuse me. Teams are no longer making purely basketball decisions. They're making fear based apron decisions. That means good players get squeezed, homegrown cores get broken up, fan-favorite teams lose their identity, and overall product loses some of the nostalgia and continuity that made people fall in love with the NBA in the first place.

36:42Shannon Sharpe:This isn't about players not understanding business. It's the opposite. We understand the NBA is a business. That's why the NBA PA has to operate with an elite business document, elite negotiating strategy, and real foresight. The owners and the league walk into these meetings with killers that continue to run circles around us time and time again. With elite lawyers, economics, cap experts, media strategists, and long-term business operators. Players deserve a PA that is just as sharp, just as prepared, and just as aggressive about protecting our upside. Too often it feels like players are informed after the fact instead of truly being educated and empowered before the decisions are made.

37:28Shannon Sharpe:That cannot continue. The next CBA is do or die for us as players. It's only going to get worse for us. We need transparency, accountability, and a serious reevaluation of who's representing us and how they are representing us. This is not an anti-parody. This is pro player, fan, and product. The league is the strongest when players are valued properly, great teams can stay together, and people are representing us and are operating at the same level of the people sitting across the table. Joe, seems like Kyle Kuzma is complaining.

38:06Chad Johnson:Well, I mean.

38:07Shannon Sharpe:Kyle liked the NBA players, don't you? I mean, excuse me. The NFL players. Yeah. The owners are running a circle around the NBA PA.

38:15Chad Johnson:Oh, yeah. He ain't lying. He ain't lying. I mean, you got to look at what's happening. I mean, look at JB. When you talk about they avoid going into their second apron because they don't want to have to pay all this damn money, man. So, look, you're going to have to get off some of your key guys. You know what I mean? I just think that's what Boston ran into. You look at OKC. It's coming. They get rid of some of their debt. It's just part of it. You see Casey Wallace say, you know, hey, let your boy go. You want to get paid. Yeah, you want to get paid. Look, I don't want a championship priority.

38:47Chad Johnson:What are we doing? It's time to show me the money. but he right these owners man they running circles around us bro

38:56Shannon Sharpe:Kyle Kuzma in his nine year career has made 107 million dollars Michael Jordan in his 17 year in uh in a NBA career made 93 million considering he made 63 million in the final two years of his deal yeah yeah I mean so the other 15 years Michael made 30 what 30 million dollars

39:20Chad Johnson:Yeah, but you got to understand now. The economics back then was a little different. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

39:26Shannon Sharpe:Look, Mike was like, put me the best team together. Nike and Gatorade and Haynes and all the stuff, they going to keep me afloat. Yep. Put the best team around me. But look, this is what you guys signed up for, and you know only a certain level of guys are going to get paid. Right. And this is why it's so hard to beat the NFL, the owners, in any league because guess what? They're already billionaires. Your money is based on whether or not you play. Most of these guys have other businesses that they're going to generate

40:01Chad Johnson:income even if you don't

40:03Shannon Sharpe:take your ass out there.

40:04Chad Johnson:It's for play-play for them. It's for play-play. They see it as a toy. We have toys. We like cars. We have hobbies. Owners, especially sometimes NFL, NFL, NBA, hockey, baseball, that's their hobby. Yeah.

40:21Shannon Sharpe:Stan Crockett's going to make money. If Matt Stafford don't throw a pass, he got the Avalanche, he got the Nuggets, and he got Arsenal. Damn. He still got the money still coming. Hey, crazy. You can't stop that. Progress must progress. So, and you got these owners, the Waltons. What do you care about the Broncos playing? That man worth$120 billion. Let's just say he getting 8 % on that. Y 'all know how much money that is? 10 % on$128,$150 billion? That's 15. Let's just say he conservative. He going to get 68%. So now he only getting$8 billion. A year.

41:11Shannon Sharpe:Y 'all can't win because they know y 'all got to have that money. See, they waited until they got billions and billions and billions and billions before they started getting a yacht, plane, flying, plane, flying, Z. See, they know you got, hey, you must run and go through a divorce. She's going to get some of that. Hey, you got kids. Let's just say for the sake of argument, all your kids ain't under one roof.

41:33Chad Johnson:Right. You know, hey.

41:35Shannon Sharpe:And you had two of them in California. That's somewhere between 25 ,000 and 50 ,000 a child. What? Yeah. Shh. Boy. I'm just going to keep it stacked with you. That's how they know. Ocho, didn't you say they know everything that you're going through? So they know what?

41:55Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

41:56Shannon Sharpe:They know how much your mortgage is. They know how much your kid's tuition is.

42:00Chad Johnson:Yeah.

42:02Shannon Sharpe:And they're about to know if you're having a problem. Hello. With your wife. Hello. Hey, just the thought of that, boy. So that's why you can't beat them. Yeah. hey because the guys that's at the top okay they might can wait so you get a lebron guy like lebron or shea somebody like that they can wait they can wait in the storm third year joe and he ain't he wasn't no high draft pick he on he making three to five million dollars a year yeah but he's spending like he make 10 12 million a year hello hello yeah i done seen it i done

42:39Chad Johnson:seen it and you're right that's those are the guys that's not gonna wait they're gonna sign on the dotted line asap asap yeah yeah and half of the guys don't sign no cho because think about it how

42:51Shannon Sharpe:many times we broke and have the guy hey man go ahead and fill out my ballot for me even for the pro bowl yeah they don't take stuff serious they don't want to they don't want to take the time and we had those nfl pa meetings all they want to do what ocho go get that chicken dip yeah you know you know what's funny too also you got to understand they're they're small very small percentage of players and let's say nba in general even if the n the nba what is the nba nba pa oh nba pa yeah the fact that you won't be able to get all the players aboard because all the players don't make enough money to be able to weather the storm to say you know what we we ain't doing that we're not budgeting until we get what we think is fair we're not budgeting until we think we get what's not enough players that make the kind of money to be able to do that the withstand oh we're gonna miss some games we're gonna miss some games they're gonna have the fold at some point which would be very difficult because they could hold off the the owners could hold off longer than they can the strongest union is mlb oh yeah they shut the season down there'll be no playoff they're gonna be no world series now what y 'all gonna do them boys ain't play boy and if you go back and look at them don't nobody give no team no discount everybody okay you got 400 million he got 425 i'm going to the 425 and i keep trying to make the salaries go higher and higher and higher them boys don't play boy they shut it down well how come how come how come what's so why is it so difficult for him in it well nfl is because I know you don't remember, but they had a strike in 82 and they had a strike in 87.

44:29Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. I ain't going to call nobody names, but you go back and look at 87 and look at the guys that crossed the picket line. You'd be surprised, Ocho. So if a guy that's a pro bowler, if a guy that's an all pro, an MVP, a DPOY, if he crossed the picket line and go play, what you think a sixth rounder going to do? I got you. He got no choice. Right.

44:56Shannon Sharpe:do your homework, Chad. Go back and look at 1987. Look who crossed the picket line. You'd be disappointed. Damn.

45:10Shannon Sharpe:Because you know why they crossed the picket line? Because they put the scab, that's what they call them. They call them replacements, but they were calling them scabs. Right. Damn. That's a good one. Fans still showed up because I root for a team, not a player. because he still had that cowboy star on his helmet. He still had that black and gold Steeler. So those are Steelers. Whether or not they're this or that, it does not matter. That makes sense. They had no choice. In 2011, when the strike happened, the players didn't strike. The NFL owners locked them out. Well, if you got to get treatment, go get someone with treatment down the road.

45:50Shannon Sharpe:You ain't getting it here.

45:51Chad Johnson:Damn.

45:52Shannon Sharpe:They locked the buildings. You couldn't work out. You couldn't get treatment. Now, y 'all was getting a bigger slice of the pie. Now, I ain't telling you nothing. You can go look it up. The NFL players had a bigger slice. They used to get 52%. I want to say, no, y 'all getting too much. We'll lock y 'all ass out. We'll see how long you can wait.

46:19Look it up, chat, if you think I'm lying.

46:22Shannon Sharpe:You see, that's the luxury of being 58. I know a thing or two. But you know what? We try to get back into good graces. I'm going to leave that alone. Y 'all disregard everything that I say. But I'm just saying this. Just go back and look up history. Not just who played and did what, but you go back and study. When the strike happened in 82, and there was another one in 87, and this wasn't a strike in 2011. This was a lockout. The owners lock the players out. Do your homework. Do your homework.

47:03Now, what would y 'all like to know, Chad?

47:09Shannon Sharpe:Because you know how I know? Because they took a guy from our team at Savannah State. And he went. He got a ring. Because the Washington won the Super Bowl in 87. The Giants won in 86. They struck. They came back. That was also the year Jerry had 22 touchdowns, Ocho, in 12 games. 12 games.

47:31Chad Johnson:Mm.

47:31Shannon Sharpe:Oh, so he was playing against replacement players? He's the first four. He was out. Let's leave that. I don't want to talk to him. I don't want to talk to him. I don't want to disparage anybody. But I will say this. Washington won the Super Bowl in 87. Right. A former teammate of mine, he got called up. When the players came back, he still got a ring. 88, the 49ers won it. 89, the 49ers won it. And then the Giants and then the Cowboys and then the Cowboys. Hey, no, yeah, no, no, 91, Washington won it again. And then the Cowboys went back to back. Then the 49ers, then the Cowboys, then the Packers, then the Broncos, Broncos, then the Rams, then the but you know you get what I'm getting yeah yeah but anyway go back and study your history guys go back and study the history I don't want to put nobody out there but see y 'all don't do enough of studying and then y 'all get mad at me because I try to tell you guys stuff and you're like oh oh you don't know what you're talking about but I know more than you think I just got to you know I I'm trying to do right I'm trying to do right we're trying to go places and I I understand sometimes there'll be barriers.

48:49Shannon Sharpe:I can't say what I really want to say, Chad. I'll be damned. Hello. Y 'all want to try to get to taking the nightcap out the air.

49:00Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Y 'all looking up. I see y 'all looking up these names, huh? Huh. They looking up some names, Ocho. Yeah. Mm-hmm.

49:15Dang.

No, that's where the Florida Panthers play. The who? The Florida Panthers. What's that, arena team or something? The hockey team, Joe. We just won in the Stanley Cup two years in a row. Oh, my bad, Ocho. I ain't. I mean, we ain't winning this year. Carolina won it this year, but we won, yeah.

53:12Shannon Sharpe:Yeah, y 'all lost y 'all goalie, Boboroski. He left. Yeah, it's all good. We're going to be all right.

53:17Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's going to be lit down there, man. Yeah, I'm going to slide down there. Hey, what time do Miami team play? They play at 3.30. Okay, yeah, I'm going to shoot down there, man. That's right down the street, too. Oh, is it? Yeah, right over there in like Sunrise. Yeah, it's getting good in the big three, bro. I think they're going to play without – I don't think Beasley playing in this game. I think Lance playing. I don't think Beasley playing. Yeah, but Beasley's suspended.

53:46Shannon Sharpe:Lance was suspended last game, so they're alternating just to make sure they have enough players. So Lance was suspended last week. He comes back. Beasley's suspended this week.

53:56Chad Johnson:Yeah, but it's some good matchups. I'm looking forward to this. I think the trips in the 305, that's going to be a great game. Obviously, Detroit, my Detroit Amps team playing against Power. I don't even know if Power lost the game. Power been pretty good. It's some good ones out there. It's some good ones. I'll be tuned in.

54:20Shannon Sharpe:Everdeen scored twice in the second half as Morocco beat Canada 3-0 to book their place in the World Cup quarterfinals. Canada star Alfonso Davies again on the bench. Davies missed all three of Canada group matches as he recovered from an injury he suffered in May. Morocco look good guys. Oh yeah. Yeah. They look good. Canada was the first host nation to exit. You know Mexico still got games. Do they still have I think they got what one more game in Mexico. The US got a game US don't hold on. The US play where did u.s play in seattle seattle again yep they're in seattle and then if they win they would come to atlanta uh i'm not sure i'm not sorry oh really

55:09hey it's so funny i i love the world cup it's been so exciting i'm glad that a lot of people that don't really watch soccer are now paying attention to how fun and unpredictable you know the beautiful game is um france has played well all all the entire world cup they dominated to everybody. They play Paraguay today and they struggle.

55:28Shannon Sharpe:But people told me because when Americans beat Paraguay, they said Paraguay ain't that good. Because we got three goals against them and now all of a sudden they give up one goal against France and now all of a sudden... Remember, we beat them 4-1. We beat Paraguay 4-1. My bad. And then they play France today and it seemed like France can't even score. Well, obviously Paraguay couldn't score either, but France looked like... I don't know I don't know what it was or what it is about games like this, Joe. France is stacked, boy.

55:59Chad Johnson:Hey, they are. So, to me, in my mind, going to this game, I'm thinking, man, I wouldn't be surprised if France go four-five goals. Hey. And they could barely get one, and they got that one off a penalty. It was the PK. Yeah. They ain't really scoring open play. But you know why Periqua, they made the game dirty, bro.

56:18Shannon Sharpe:Yeah.

56:18Chad Johnson:You know, they made it ugly. You know, they made a friends want an ugly game, bro. And I think they really got a chance, Uncle Ocho, to make it to the finals considering coming out of a game like this. Man, this was a tough game, bro.

56:34Shannon Sharpe:Looking at the way the U.S. play, obviously we'd love to have Balogun. Tomorrow, obviously, I mean, on Monday we're not going to have him. But we could beat the Belgians. Oh, absolutely. Even with what we got, we should beat the Belgians. Hey, Belgium, old, huh? I mean, no disrespect to them, but they're a very old team. very old team lukaku obviously somebody you have to deal with you know at the nine position real you know real strong but outside of that i mean de bruyne and i don't know let me straight we should we should you know joe we're gonna be fine to me it's argentina yeah yeah and i ocho i know last but they kept so much pressure on camp on on birdie yeah they can i mean birdie couldn't get the couldn't clear the ball yeah they could they stayed on their end And if the goalie doesn't stand on his head?

57:21Yeah.

57:21Shannon Sharpe:They would have stole by three or four. What? Yeah. I mean, look at the two saves that he made on the free kick by Messi. Yeah. And he was directing traffic. Yes. And the whistle had blue. Knowing if I put him over here, he got to bring the ball. Yeah, he got to bring it out.

57:37Chad Johnson:Yeah.

57:38Shannon Sharpe:I mean, he was standing on his head. Yeah, he was nice. He played real well. Mbappe PK leads France past Paraguay 1-0 in the World Cup round of 16 in Philly. On Saturday, Diego Gomez knee collided with Desiree. How you say his last name? Dewey? Dewey, yeah. And aid of VR, the referee awarded a PK. Mbappe converted it to opening, scoring on the 70th minute. Ocho, are you disappointed with France's performance? Not really, because I understand how the game goes. You can't dominate everybody. Every game is not going to be beautiful. Obviously, it's called a beautiful game, but every game won't be that way.

58:17Sometimes you're going to have games like this where they make it ugly. Like in boxing, huh? Sometimes you got a pretty fighter that's better than you. What's the one way to keep a fight? Keep it close? Make it ugly. Don't box. Make it a brawl. And that's exactly what Paraguay did. They made it a brawl. They were physical. They had... Hey, listen. Joe, they were about to fight every goddamn five minutes.

58:39Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. hey i think france deserves credit too for the composure that they play with yeah they had to because man listen it was a lot of times i hell i thought i thought uh paraguay could have got some penalties i'm like damn man you know hey man i'm watching the game i'm like damn you know it's physical out here it's a lot of clipping tripping but i tell you the theatrics that's in uh uh uh the world cup the way these dudes be acting man come on bro yeah but they you know they go they

59:09Shannon Sharpe:They buy it less and less. The further you go, the less and less, they buy them farther. Oh, no. They ain't tripping. But, Joe, you know what they trying to do, Joe. When you roll around like that, not only is that calling a tactical timeout, but also some of those players that's falling are trying to get the other player to get them on a yellow card.

59:27Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah. Remember, if I can get you on that yellow card, that mean you got to play cautious all game long because you get one more yellow, you out of there. But hold on. You can't be aggressive no more. But hold on. Yeah. You don't get penalized for all this damn flopping and faking and all that, man. Oh, sometimes if you dive inside the box, trying to get yourself a PK, you have to refugate your yellow card for flopping, for diving. I mean, some of these dudes act like they just getting knocked out, old joke.

59:54Shannon Sharpe:Damn.

59:55Chad Johnson:Oh, and they showing the replay, huh? I'm like, oh man, they ain't touching. Dude ain't touching.

1:00:02Shannon Sharpe:Dude do the flyby and he flopped. I was like, man, get your, get up. I said, damn. Hey, that was funny. Hey, they be like, what you call him in the store? What's that dude's name? When he fell in the, Friday he fell in the store, oh my neck, my back, Ezell. Ezell, yeah. When they were stealing clothes. Yeah. He said, man, get your. It ain't even wet over here. He's out sitting right now for$100.

1:00:33Shannon Sharpe:Yeah. Yeah. France plays Morocco on Thursday. Ocho, who you got? Uh-oh. Hey, that's gonna be tough. Morocco dominated today, obviously. But they look good. They did. They look real good. They look real good, man. I feel bad. I feel bad for Canada, obviously. Alphonso Davies probably being their best player, not being able to play because of injuries since May. Hey, I got friends. They probably gonna rise to the case and I know it didn't look like the France we've used to seeing you know throughout the You know most of the tournament, but they don't rise to the occasion against Morocco They don't rise to the occasion and listen if Morocco can keep it close and Morocco can score It's gonna get interesting.

1:01:20It's gonna get really interesting

1:01:24Shannon Sharpe:Mbappe has tied Messi with seven goals. Mbappe has a game in hand. Messi has seven goals. Mbappe has seven goals with two assists. Holland from Norway has five goals. Came from England has five. And Dembele from France has four goals with two assists. And I guess the golden boot is right now because he has two assists, he has a two-point lead over Messi. yeah I told you he was gonna win it he gonna he gonna win it he definitely gonna win it because the the tougher the games get the more they're gonna the more Mbappe gonna score the more they have to rely on him to get goals I mean listen everybody else on this team can score as well but oh you know who you know it's the pecking order you know who get you know who get first dibs yeah Mbappe nice man Joe your guy man uh Ocho they I was watching somebody they was diagnosed they were talking about Messi.

1:02:19Shannon Sharpe:They say Messi walks 62 % of the time. Yeah, he does. He does, huh? Like no, when they say walk, Joe, I'm not exaggerating. I'm talking about literally walking, literally.

1:02:30Chad Johnson:Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm watching him. And he get a little burst.

1:02:33Shannon Sharpe:And then when they get that pass ahead, that little joke is gone. Out of there.

1:02:39Chad Johnson:He's like Speedy Gonzalez. He's super deceptive out there. Hey, I bet you he a lot faster if you out there with him though. Oh, yeah, yeah, probably. You got to think, not only now, right, is he's not as fast as he once was, but he's still fast enough. But the fact is, is whatever's in front of him, he can get by it. Oh, yeah, yeah. It don't matter. One person, two people, he knows how to use his feints and body feints and manipulate. Oh, Joe, he's unbelievable. And mind you, he's 39, 38 now. Yeah. Imagine back then. Yeah.

1:03:13Shannon Sharpe:It's unfair, man. he's nice he's nice like i said if that cape uh uh bozina bozina he doesn't stand on his head that man might have had four goals ocho easy he might have he literally might have had four goals i was like oh my goodness man i hate man i was pulling so hard for kate birdie man i was like man, damn. You wanted him to beat him? I wanted K-Burdy to win, yeah. Man, I like when they be short on the stands. I don't know about you. Yeah, that would have been dope, but it's so funny. I love my timeline, my timeline been flooded.

1:03:53Chad Johnson:Hey, hey, go get your number one thing too. Your little number one finger you got over there. Put it up in there.

1:03:59Shannon Sharpe:Man, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, they been out in full four. Hey, hey, hey. It's so funny, even in defeat, what Cape Verde did, not just for the World Cup and making their name known globally on the stage, what they've done for their country and what Cape Verde have done for their fans, their legacy is cemented in history with where they played at the beginning of this tournament. Even in defeat, it still feels like a win. I mean, I became a fan, obviously, at the beginning of the tournament, especially with that first game where they played Spain, and they tied Spain 0-0 when nobody in the world gave them a chance.

1:04:38And then the goalie playing as well as he did. Yes, sir. Giving all the balls out the back of the net in that first game. He put me on. I said, well, damn, who is this? He became a fan favorite in the tournament himself.

1:04:49Shannon Sharpe:He went from 46 ,000. Now, Ocho, Joe, he's at 25.1 million followers. That's crazy. In two weeks. That's crazy. Hey. He done passed everybody except Messi.

1:05:05Chad Johnson:Hey, Cape Verde made them sweat though. They made them Argentinian sweat.

1:05:09Shannon Sharpe:They made the uptick in tourism to Cape Verde.

1:05:12Chad Johnson:Damn. Hey, I think I'm finna go with them.

1:05:15Shannon Sharpe:Hey, you know what I'm saying? Hey, I'm taking mid, hey, we got, we got a, you say after the World Cup, we got two weeks off? Yeah. Yeah, I might have to take a little trip to Cape Verde. We need better play, Ocho. Hey, we can do, hey, hey, but you know, Ocho, I got a plan with you cuz you know somebody. Oh, don't do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Joe ain't gonna show up.

1:05:33Chad Johnson:Don't treat me how they did Kyrie now. Don't start acting like that. Don't start acting like that. Hey, hey, hey, Ocho, we'll tell him, we'll put him in the group chat once we over there. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey. Listen, listen. If y 'all talking about going to Cape Verde now, don't y 'all act like that now. Hey, Joe, I'm going. I'm telling you right now, I'm going. How far is it? How far is it from here?

1:05:54Shannon Sharpe:Let's put that on the list next year, Ocho. Damn, next year? Yeah. Yeah. Ocho, do you understand what a big undertaking that is? Oh, we're going to do a show up? We ain't made no reservations yet. Okay. Okay. I thought y 'all played nothing. Hold on. First of all, is your passport up to date? Yeah, it's right here. My idea.

1:06:14Chad Johnson:Hey, hey. Hey, as soon as you said it, look. Hey, man, I thought y 'all was spontaneous. I thought y 'all liked it. You know what I mean?

1:06:24Shannon Sharpe:Joe, don't do that, Joe. Me and Ocho and I, we are very spontaneous. Don't do that, Joe. Hey, very, Joe. You spoke to him, I ain't gonna say nothing. You know what I mean? Hey, Ocho.

1:06:33Chad Johnson:Oh, here you go. Okay, okay, okay. All right, I see how you're okay. I mean, you could have just said

1:06:39Shannon Sharpe:you wasn't gonna be allowed to, hey, Ocho and I - Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Fuck, it ain't even - Hey, Joe.

1:06:45Chad Johnson:Come on, man, don't do that. Don't do that. Don't try to do that. Hey, we know who wear the pants over there, huh? Man, that's crazy, bro. hey joe it was it was 24 hours in houston joe you couldn't even come this is how y 'all act huh

1:07:02Shannon Sharpe:chay y 'all see how they doing i'm not questioning whether or not joe wear the pants i'm just i'm just questioning are they briefs are they bikini are they boxes damn damn this is how y 'all gonna man you y 'all about to have a good time for your birth damn joe ain't even show up but anyway joe We, we, we, hey, hey, we gonna put something, hey, Ocho. Yeah. Oh man.

1:07:29Chad Johnson:Hey, Ocho, Ocho, Ocho, you falling for it. You see how he switched up on me to go to you, then he gonna switch up on you and come, damn. Hey Joe, I show, hey Joe, I show up when I say I'ma show up, Joe. Yes. That's all we want. Now the hell you don't. Yeah, I do. We want trustworthy brothers. Yeah, Joe, trustworthy. Reliable. Your word ain't no good, Joe. All right, I'm gonna see y 'all answer in a couple weeks. Don't worry.

1:07:56Shannon Sharpe:Are you sure?

1:07:57Chad Johnson:Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ocho, Ocho.

1:08:01Shannon Sharpe:I hate to have to get up on stage and say, you know, unfortunately, Joe was unable to attend. Something came up.

1:08:07Chad Johnson:Hold up, Ocho. It wasn't that damn funny. I ain't that damn funny. Yeah, you know.

1:08:12Shannon Sharpe:I don't want to get up there in front of all them people.

1:08:16Chad Johnson:Oh, oh, oh.

1:08:18Shannon Sharpe:Can you chill, bruh?

1:08:19Chad Johnson:i'm just saying i'm just saying i get it i get it i get it all right let's chill can we move on

1:09:27Chad Johnson:Listen, listen, listen. If we gonna keep dwelling on the past, that mean you ain't done nothing in the present. Stop talking about old stuff, man. Hell, if it ain't happened yesterday, I really don't really remember it. I'm just keeping it 100. It just happened day before. It was last week. I don't really. It did happen yesterday. 1:10:06Chad Johnson:All right, man, I'm with you, man. I'll be there.

1:10:08Shannon Sharpe:Hold on, where we going first? It's got to be somewhere we can go and not take up the dog. We can't spend – it can't be no more than about four or five hours tops to get there. 1:17:30Chad Johnson:What? Hey, you want to see Cape Verdeans? We'll go to Boston. We'll, yeah, we'll - Hey, hey, hey, hey, I'll tell you what, they got them.

1:17:39Shannon Sharpe:Well, who you telling? What's it called? It's like three stops, it takes you 42 hours. Damn. 42 hours, hey, two stops is 44, hold on. I need to get direct, Kedush.

1:17:55And we can do a show in Cape Verde next year. We can, you know, because, you know, they showed much love. They appreciate, you know. They did.

1:18:04Shannon Sharpe:Hey, hey, hey. They been loving what we did. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Showing much love, you know. So we can do a show in Cape Verde next year. Live, you know. One of our guests. We can have the players as one of the guests. I like it.

1:18:21Chad Johnson:All right, no.

1:18:24Shannon Sharpe:there's no direct flight. So normally a flight from LA to Cape Verde typically takes somewhere between 22 and 24 hours in total time because there's no direct flights in the journey. Depart LA International Airport, you will lay over in Lisbon, Lisbon, which is Portugal, and then you arrive. So yeah, it's basically a day. Ain't y 'all talking about going right now. My bad. Hey, listen, I ain't even realized you know me and geography we don't get along like that that's africa i told you that's west africa yeah yeah hey let me tell you boy they ate beautiful people boy i could tell you that boy yes sir but africa's not close oh cho yeah i know i've been i mean you get a direct flight to joeberg or something or maybe uh uh uh uh akra ghana or you know maybe lagos nigeria yeah i know i know i'm not close i didn't i didn't i didn't been there man we got to do something man Man, I'm gonna have today, they have to give me some medicine and knock me out.

1:19:27Shannon Sharpe:For that flight? I get impatient, I get bored, I get anxious. Yeah. I'm gonna have to take me something for my nerves.

1:19:38Chad Johnson:It's storming hard as I don't know what out here.

1:19:41Shannon Sharpe:Oh, so y 'all didn't have no fireworks tonight then, huh?

1:19:43Chad Johnson:Yeah, man, them boys been shooting guns since 10 o 'clock. Then we got on here, hell.

1:19:54Shannon Sharpe:So, we got to put some time, we got to put some thought into something. We got to go somewhere. Hey, I'm telling you, that'd be a good one, huh? Something nobody ever did. Did y 'all hear that? You hear that, Joe? What? Oh, y 'all can't hear the fire? They up here. Oh, that's what that was? Yeah. Yeah, I heard it.

1:20:12Chad Johnson:Y 'all ain't busting no gun or nothing tonight? Y 'all ain't getting one off? Man, I'm going out after the show, Joe.

1:20:20Shannon Sharpe:all right it's time for our final segment of the evening it's time for q and a

1:20:33damn man my baby just texted me say boy that flight 15 hours boy but where shoot going to going to uh k birdie yeah boy but there ain't no direct flight so it's gonna be longer than that. No, it's direct flights for me in Miami. Maybe not for you. Oh, it's a direct flight

1:20:51Shannon Sharpe:for Miami? You on the West Coast? Yeah.

1:20:57No, we could take a PJ. No, we can't.

1:21:15Shannon Sharpe:flight times from Miami to Cape Verde typically range between 15 and 20 hours depending on your specific destination to the island and duration of your layover because there are no direct flights available from Miami all itineraries require at least one connection like I said maybe you go to Joburg damn maybe if you go to Acra or maybe you go to Lagos uh but why Joe go Joe where you at Joe? Oh it's Stormy. Joe ain't paid his bill. Joe said it was Stormy. Hey nah he set that up real quick so he can get off early.

1:22:00Shannon Sharpe:Hey you know what Joe didn't get a permission slip slide Ocho so she done called him off. Hey done got him up out of there.

1:22:14Shannon Sharpe:uh okay they say LeBron definitely going to 76ers Ocho like my grandma used to say straighten your face up hey come on man come on man again yeah listen my face is straight but you're not being realistic you're not being realistic realistic at all all right but I got you uh I like the next drumming pickup. I do too. They get a replacement. He's not the defensive presence that Mitchell Robinson was, but he's an off. He can rebound the basketball. He can set good, solid, hard picks. I like that pickup as well. Rob Palenka finally gave AD a center. No hand. Go. Hey, that's a good one. I don't think that's the center AD was looking for.

1:22:56Shannon Sharpe:But if it helps AD doesn't have to exert all of his energy dealing with those fives yeah playing with the fire yeah he'll take it who robbed the nba more than jonathan isaac i think he went back i think he went back to orlando argentina versus cape verde match was the greatest world cup match i've ever seen in my life i don't know i think that friend i think france and argentina last year in the world cup final was pretty damn good that day that day that was nice boy that was nice that was a really good game Oh, Joe, how special was it to go against Revis in 09? And why did Wilson win DPOY over Revis?

1:23:38Oh, man, Revis is the real deal. He was the real deal. I've said it many times. I don't think we'll ever see a season like that season that Darrell Revis had with some of the receivers that he had to go against that year. And he ran the gauntlet. He ran the gauntlet and held everybody, if I'm not mistaken, maybe under 60, maybe 50 yards, that season, that 2019 was special. It was special, and I don't think we'll ever see it repeated in that manner with that amount of Hall of Famers and great receivers under one DB's belt and holding them to absolutely nothing consistently. And I'm not talking about a scheme or a system.

1:24:15I'm talking about in your face, man to man, we going at it from quarter one to quarter four. Reeve was the real deal that year.

1:24:25Shannon Sharpe:Hey, guys, don't know if you remember or not, but you guys shouted out my mom a couple of years ago. Her name was Miranda. Unfortunately, she passed away yesterday. I really want to thank you guys for taking time to pray out much love. Jalen, any advice you got? Jalen, sorry about the passing of your mom. My thoughts and prayers from NICAP go out to you and your family and all the loved ones that's impacted by this tragic passing. No, because everybody handles home going different. Yes. it doesn't get any easier you get better at dealing with it over time but you're never going to forget your mom and the mere fact that you thought enough of her to ask her to shout us out lets us know the type of relationship that you had with your mom so just take as much time as you need in order to pay your proper respects to her because it's going to hurt for a while it's going to hurt for a while absolutely obviously I lost Hurricane Paul in 2021 memories memories allow those memories is the jaw gonna flow through the mind, man.

1:25:26Remember all the good times. Obviously, there are some bad times as well. That's it. Especially with me, but the memories. The memories are the best thing. Pictures that you may have of your mom and you and her, you know, together. Obviously, you know, look at those and just remember the good times, man. And it doesn't get any easy for me. It's still not easy, but I do. I remember the good times and the memories. That's it. And the stories that we all tell. My friends and sometimes, obviously, me. I try to make it my business, you know, to visit that grave site, man, every so often. I don't go as often as I should because I hate breaking down.

1:25:58I hate crying and being in that mode in that moment. But, oh, man, that's one of the worst feelings in the world, man. But it's going to get better over time. Mr.

1:26:13Shannon Sharpe:Sharp, I recently sent my email to Shea Shea Media. With a resume in close, I'd love to assist on your production team. I can carry equipment, run errands. I'm 39, single, no kids. Can relocate. damn

1:26:29Shannon Sharpe:that's an ash in her team's department but I have her take a look at it bro on the other night I said LeBron had a loaded bubble roster because you always compare LA era and LA before the Lakers had zero stars beside an injured Kobe it's not it's not hate it's just facts but when he had power so you make it seem like Dwight Howard would peak Dwight Howard. He had Anthony Davis. Okay. So what are we doing? You said compare zero besides Andrew Colby. So we can compare Colby at 30. How old was Colby when he retired? 36, 37? So let's compare 32, 33, 34, 35, 36. Colby. You just want to compare the years in which Kobe won.

1:27:24Shannon Sharpe:Kobe was still playing in 13, 14, 15, and 16. He was still playing. Ain't no hate. You make it seem like nobody else. Jamal Murray was on the Nuggets. Paul George, Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers were loaded. Everybody was loaded. You make it seem like the Lakers were the only ones that had their healthy players. Everybody else, with the exception of the Brooklyn Nets, had their healthy players. KD was still coming off an injury, so KD wasn't there. But everybody else had their healthy players. Bro, it's over. I get it. LeBron won the bubble. It didn't mean anything. Had someone else won it, it meant something.

1:28:08Shannon Sharpe:I get it. I get it. Going through a rough time tonight. Any advice how to deal with heartbreak, fellas? Especially with someone that you love so much. Oh, whoa, whoa. Heartbreak? Wait a minute. what we doing tighten up pick your chin up hold your head up yes your heartbreak what you talking about now what happened take your time huh who provided for who who were taking care of who i understand you hurt son but put put your pants up what don't do don't do that don't do that now what you is it your fault did you do something wrong huh now if you messed up now understand yeah that she left you i need to tighten up gotta stay busy yeah as busy as you can it's never easy easy is look i i i feel that easier is a lot it's a lot easier breaking up when you're the one that wants to do the breaking up if you're not the one that's ready to let it go it gets become very very difficult shoot me hey look at them expenses huh think about how much money you're gonna save she want to go go ahead and and in a situation like that um you just got to keep busy i don't know why you guys decided to break waves maybe it was amical but it doesn't seem like it was because you're heartbroken but bro it doesn't get easier because you put time it seems to me listen just reading what you said that you got you put time in it and the more time you put into something the more invested you are in something the more it hurts shitting me um hey give me a call boy but be as busy as you possibly can and uh uh just remember sunshine follows rain it's not the end of the world though it seems like it at times but you're gonna be okay yeah you're gonna be all right send me a message well send me your number i'll make sure you're good i'll bring you on down here to mind me bet you won't remember that no more huh uh big three what's good i read a report that knew that england been approved to use by agra to deal with altitude the altitude in in mexico did y 'all ever use it for that now you know i you know i use viagra man i know y 'all done seen the clip now huh just half a pill help with the blood flow i mean how they gonna stop me out there running on three legs huh you feel me well I know I ain't trying to tackle you.

1:30:42Shannon Sharpe:I'm going to let you go. You go ahead on. Coach, what happened? I'm going to guard TJ. What up, big three? Bron not going to the wolves. That's already an issue in and of itself. Well, Mike doesn't think he's going there. ISO, are you going to retire again when LeBron joins the big three?

1:31:09Shannon Sharpe:Nah, I don't think LeBron going to the big three. I think he's going to be over with that. Hey, Unc, I was looking at flights today to Cape Verde. They got a nonstop flight from Rhode Island. All I need is them sparks with me. I'm like, Ocho, it's too hot for rubbers, especially over there.
